Starting point is 00:00:00 well um i'm good i'm a little exhausted because um you are to blame you did something what did i do i'm gonna scroll to our text messages and i'm going to decide if i'm going to read them verbatim or if i need to filter them because we might have been a little harsh so if you all listen to was it last week's episode of see you next tuesday yes last week's episode see you next tuesday um oh melissa and i talked about the movie pop star and we specifically focused on an important moment the penis in which i still have on my notes app for our conversations actually i don't even have it on my notes app for the conversations i literally have it on my to-do list which is my number one pinned thing so every time i open my phone and i go to my notes it says
Starting point is 00:00:53 to know thy penis i titled the episode if you didn't notice i i did not known it no knownness i did not notice but um an iconic phrase that i'm sure will be a part of the show's vernacular for the rest of time and the context around that was us discussing the penis that appeared in the movie pop star discussed at length if you listened um and then last night and not not only that we talked about like how it was a nice looking i can't we can't get into talked about how the owner of the penis should be proud of their penis we also talked about uh do you think that they posted like on dating apps and then i said you know i just want to give a recap for the people so that they know it was a good surprise when it drops because you're like you said they probably like
Starting point is 00:01:41 tell people at parties and said no i think that they you know wait a little bit get to know somebody and then say it they surprise and delight and we said that like that reaction is an earned and justified yes because it's it's it's a penis that someone should be should be proud of and we wondered about the life of this person we wished well for them and their penis and then at 10 23 p.m last night you decided because this is while i was editing see you next tuesday so i was i was thinking about it you decided to commit an act of domestic terrorism and you texted me the penis is apparently judd apatow and i said why would you tell me that oh my fucking god then you said if i had to know so do you i said i will never recover oh my god what a plot twist the curtain
Starting point is 00:02:37 did not match the drapes and by that i don't mean about hair color i mean i think every penis has it it has a literal head but then it has a head like know thy penis know thy person and at no point did that penis reveal themselves as a that's clearly judd apatow's penis and it came out of left field and now i realized that i never needed to know who was behind that penis and you know how i said like that they they you know this isn't something that they just like bring up it was it was what i said they kept going to like press things and people were like asking who is it and your man andy andy like smirked and eventually said that it was judd apatow and then people kept asking judd apatow and he kept denying it and then he finally said
Starting point is 00:03:39 yeah it was me and now things make sense i'm happy for leslie man that's what i'm saying he he's funny and has that penis so leslie man i was like you know she's a baddie and she's without a doubt yes this is good for him um his i hope his children um have no idea who andy sandberg is and so they never do you mean i hope children are i know but i hope that in their there is no part of their orbit that like pop star is is a fig is is that there is i hope that they do not go to they've never went to high school and someone said well they never they didn't release it like this was like they didn't say it well they oh oh this was a later thing okay confirmed so they were thinking because i'm like the i if you have okay anyone if you have not
Starting point is 00:04:46 fucking seen pop star like this is not a normal um nudity like we said it's like nudity for comedy which is my favorite kind of nudity and things it is if a penis it's a jump scare you should have a jump scare for this penis like it's it just it shocks you you're afraid for the penis you're worried about the well-being of the penis and then you're like okay actually you know what like i don't care about that well-being of that penis like that penis is doing too much like too fast and uh and too often as i was skimming the article that the original thing was in i did not read the whole article so this may be a complete lie and i'm giving them more credit than what they have but i think it said that it was written as breast and then on the shoot day
Starting point is 00:05:28 they didn't tell them that they were changing it to the penis and did it for the case so it's american hero an authentic jump scare no if if genuinely if that's the case in the origin of it i pledge allegiance to judd apatow's penis right like yeah yeah look at judd apatow this is full circle we talked so much mad shit on him when he had awful horrible takes he had the thing is i've i've said this time and time again i respect him for what he's contributed to comedy i respect him for his right i i respect him for the way that he's written women in comedies yeah for the most part he writes some really great female women characters he writes some really not good ones but he has the ability to write good ones yes um and i respect how he like has a group of people
Starting point is 00:06:27 that he stands by and like continues like he brought them up with him and continuously like puts them in his things and also like the way that he came up is like his mom worked at a comedy club and would just drag him to the shows and then he just started taking notes like he studied comedy he understands comedy he would start he didn't start writing jokes for people at the clubs and stuff because he knew that that wasn't like he wasn't that person to be up there but like he knew that he had a gift he's a very tech he's good technical writer i respect all those things about him but i do not respect a lot of his takes that he has on things especially when it came to the slap which we have firmly stood our ground for where we are not the tv show or whatever the
Starting point is 00:07:16 fuck that was i mean we're here's the thing though if it's a similar circumstance i think somebody slept a child okay so no and then it was why the fuck would they keep those billboards up for years then if they that's because the show was canceled if it was canceled immediately because it's problematic they kept those billboards up in la for years yes i believe it was somebody slept a child at a school and then like you were trying to figure out who slapped the child what is that where big little lies came from the slap the slap i will never get over this show i think you're right wait it's based on a novel and an australian television series yes it's a birthday party for a middle-aged employee hector's hot-headed cousin who slaps a child
Starting point is 00:08:05 please look at this is this the is this the hothead everyone that was wild who is in this wait the dad from succession is in it brian cox tandy like this is a stat cast tandy newton i know i was about to say i call that anymore what is tandy i don't want to mispronounce it but she wants to be called by her full name um wait zachary quinto is pen bad umma thurman lucas hedges victor garber of course this is such a victor garber show so yeah this is it is what it is i guess why is pen badgley in this where he's not in the cast but he's in all the photos on imdb he is in he is where's he listed
Starting point is 00:09:14 younger actor boyfriend jamie's no a nuke's much younger actor boyfriend oh okay he really he's far down on the list which that's um that's a choice because his he's doesn't really matter how much you're in it it matters usually uh how famous you are so i mean there's a lot of movie movie actors in this and you have to think of when this was this was in 2011 no i know but usually so that's what i'm saying they had to have manually done that because usually they just it kind it shifts after the oh main cast i'm looking at imdb i mean i'm looking at wikipedia oh imdb yeah no like look how he's yeah they have this manually done gotcha oh and then each episode looks like it followed a different one of the characters i don't think it didn't get canceled it was a it
Starting point is 00:10:11 was a mini series it was only eight episodes that's what it was supposed to be this is a new thing that is constantly happening to me is me talking about shows getting canceled no i thought it was a mini series i thought it was canceled because it so many people made fun of this show like i felt like it was a running joke for the longest time specifically it was a running joke in la because they couldn't afford to take the billboards down so the bill like everyone i'm not kidding you when i tell you the billboards might have come down in 2019 yes there that's what to be fair to on the way to lax you might catch a billboard of the slap to this day like there's like they that was the one that they it was a lone one it was one of the big fuckers yeah
Starting point is 00:10:52 it got to the point where no one else could afford that billboard so it's it might still be there i have a friend who lives near there i'll text him like yo is that slap billboard still there it was a humongous no it was it was huge and if anyone's watched billboard dad you know how hard it is to repaint those billboards so you know unless there is a high demand people will get the free advertising because they don't want to pay someone to take it down where can i watch it red box for one cent red box is still a thing i don't know i zoomed in that's what this looks like it says it says red box for a cent right that is what it says i we did not have red box
Starting point is 00:11:34 okay wow was it on nbc it feels like an nbc nbc loved a little chaotic miniseries yes it was but even the the advertising like each network has like a feel to their advertising and the advertising felt like nbc yeah well the whole because the whole thing looks like here's how everyone can know if something looks like the secret life of the american teenager it's on nbc if it looks like it was going to be on abc family in 2011 nbc i've seen i've never watched melissa uh that tv show but my sister melanie fucking loved it and i've seen clips of it popping up on tiktok tiktok what the hell was going on with that show was that when i tell you that like my friends and
Starting point is 00:12:33 i started watching it when we were in like high school middle school like we were like 14 maybe when it was on we started watching it a couple years older than you and we watched it to make fun of it it got to the point where like we couldn't even watch it ironically because it was so physically painful to to watch and i say this as someone who watched seventh heaven how how did your parents who didn't let you watch like some disney movies uh-huh let you watch seventh heaven um i didn't spend time at home i was not watching at my own home we didn't have cable got it so got it i was i didn't come on cable though seventh heaven was on probably when you by the time you could watch it yeah when it originally came on it was on like wb okay so for
Starting point is 00:13:29 me though our level of rt the tv we had was so fucking old like i think there was at one point it was like my dad's and like the i don't know the 1800s like it was like a dial kind of like thing like a radio level so cable or not it was what there's a connection like what's gonna come in to focus in there so there's no like surfing channels or anything so like there wasn't even any hope so like it might have there might have been things i wanted to watch but like i didn't even have the ability to know how to find those things you didn't know how to work that antenna no i was like fucking not worth it let me go listen to my harry potter podcast because it it started coming on in 96 so i was like by the time you watched it you weren't watching it live
Starting point is 00:14:16 on cw you were watching it when it was on abc family yeah oh i didn't know it was on the cd okay it was on wb before it was even the cw yeah wb did not exist in my sphere like it was i was either watching the things on netflix or reruns of whatever so um yeah but secret life american teenager i watched with my friends when we were in high school and like we literally became obsessed with it and you know she's obviously not listening but massive apology to shailene woodley for the shit i talked about you behind your back not that i could have said it to your face because i didn't know you when i was like 15 here hold on we're not no no for saying that like who the fuck gave this girl a lead show like she cannot act for shit then i saw
Starting point is 00:15:03 her in the spectacular now which everyone uh it's not a romantic comedy don't watch it unless you're ready for like it's a lot of feelings it's really good and she was fantastic in that and then i watched her and other stuff big little lies i was like oh you're a fantastic actor but you would have never known that from secret life of american teenager but i wonder if she hacked the system a wee bit because as we know for most teen slash child stars if you have a fantastic really talented career as a youngster more likely than not your acting chops as an adult aren't very good like you usually you can't very few people drew barrymore someone you hit in both but a lot of people can't hit in both especially with versatility so i wonder if like you know
Starting point is 00:15:55 she was getting that check she was doing what she needed to do and she was giving them what they needed i've shown moss clips of it and he's like you need to turn that off like this is stressing me out like this is like i saw a one clip it's fucking hilarious what's that what's i need to what's we need to find what all the writers are doing francia yeah francia was talking about i need to borrow that shirt or something like that so i can hook up with my brother yeah so then of course i had to go to the comments to see what this was in reference to i see that it's her stepbrother but still why no yeah no do you know who's in it who molly ringwald yeah i knew she plays the mom i knew that i would love to ask her about it i need to know who wrote
Starting point is 00:16:51 on it it went on for so long i just opened i was trying melissa bitch the fact that we went from this to this i look up the created by credit written by secret life of the american teenager also wrote and created seventh heaven wow wow wow we were picking up on the through this this checks out and has not written much sense i'm looking at all of the writers well they're oh one wrote both shows they're a little they're older than well that makes sense based on how secret life american teenager was written but one of them wrote on 40 episodes of you why is it all connected it's all connected this is crazy
Starting point is 00:17:48 i know these people are old because they have themselves credited like nine times like for the same jobs on it oh my god crew on one day at a time like the most i don't even know what these shows are blossom wait what's that show oh my god first of all what is this okay hold on hold on these people when you say hold on when you say one day at a time do you mean the original one or the one that came out a few years ago i what's before 2011 okay so that was the original that came on in the 70s so okay um blossom was very instrumental in my childhood blossom mayim bialik played blossom this is where she got her start i thought you got her start on big bang uh no no no joey lawrence was her brother in it um
Starting point is 00:18:39 and i think that's all really that was really famous on this show but it was iconic as in her fashion was so iconic that they had a clothing line for her in like jc penny and i had every single fucking piece um so that to you is what mary-kate and ashley at walmart was to me yeah yeah my aunt used to let me get those yeah i was gonna say you always go for people that are older than you yeah yep wow and so i oh mayim actually like a few years ago asked me for it was during the pandemic actually asked me for my thoughts on podcasting so i have had you don't you don't understand like how i had to be so fucking calm you know what it actually is it's it's hillary duff it would have been my lizzie mcguire yeah yeah i'm i'm this that would make
Starting point is 00:19:35 more sense yeah because i wouldn't lose my shit i would love mary kate nashley but i wouldn't lose my shit in the same way that yeah it was just like she was just a pivotal character pivotal character in my childhood yes that's very cool well um yeah none of these people work anymore because they're older they're retired which makes sense based on how they wrote it for how they think hampton who is the showrunner is 71 years old so why would she still be she's got fat residuals from seventh heaven secret life uh blossom and mad about you like she could have stopped working after mad about you if she wanted to i mean i it is a it's a mess of a time and the main guy one of the main guys from it
Starting point is 00:20:33 stopped acting after it he just did it and that hasn't done it done worked again one of the other guys did he's done some more stuff he did what where's your work never mind um what a show that is one that like i would say we can watch for an episode of but i actually don't think i can i don't think i can't either emotionally it is really too hard for me but speaking of tv shows i have to tell you well we're gonna do i'm gonna do a really quick one before we get into tv shows
Starting point is 00:21:20 moth has never seen sister act honestly that doesn't surprise me i'm floored because to me sister act is like saying you've never seen mean girls like it is such a pivotal part of my it's like i've never seen my big fat creek wedding i've never seen mean girls i've never seen uh bend it like beckham i'm like though it's i haven't seen one out of those you haven't seen bend it like beckham oh that's a fantastic movie i haven't watched in years so if it's problematic i don't know it as a child on my rotation i had a short rotation it was one of those but moss has never seen sister act and he was like what's it about and i go you don't even know what it's about bitch this has to be
Starting point is 00:22:05 your favorite movie and i was like you're gonna die for this plot i told him and he goes we have to watch it i go because we have to watch sister act two in order to get to sister act two we have to watch the first sister act and kiki palmer will be in the new one and he was like oh this is perfect and he did try to get me to watch um nope last night and the sun went down we watched the trailer again and i go too scary we need to watch when the sun is out nope nope i said hard pass love you so sorry they're just it was watching and i go there's kiki and he goes look you're tapes there's kiki i'm like okay and something creepy happened and i said nope so we will watch when the sun is out um and shirley ralph is in sixth track too oh yeah oh god it's so fucking
Starting point is 00:22:48 good so moss and i stayed up till oh my god melissa i never even fucking got to my nightmare i was gonna ask you about it wow i the fact that i got back there was an accident so all of that to say the longest tangent in the goddamn fucking world all of that to say i had a dream last night that a man who was i was calling an uber and it turns out my uber was like my neighbor this is not my real house it was like this big old victorian kind of house it was very like it looked like annalise's house in how to get away with murder okay so it's got one of those glass doors you can like see things through it because it's a tv show and they they need those kinds of shots and i'm like going to the door and it's like my neighbor is my uber and i go well that's a
Starting point is 00:23:31 little crazy because like he knows where i live and he just like walked over like i don't like this none of my real neighbors not that any of my neighbors are fucking listening this is unknown neighbor and i like look over and my neighbor is pressing their penis on the window of the glass of my front door and i was terrified and i was alone and i was so scared and then for some reason i was hiding from at one point and then mons was back there with me but i decided to like hide on top of the kitchen island and then he like looked in through the window and like looked at me and I was like scary um and then I was like I have to call the police because the man who put pressed his penis on the window on the on the door is like here and I like don't know why he was there
Starting point is 00:24:13 and then like the phone lines weren't working but like in my dream I was like oh my god he cut the lines but then also in my dream I was like Megan I just don't think your wi-fi is working like I don't i don't i think this is like a different kind of issue and it was it was because you texted me and you told me that that penis was judd apatow so then i had a dream about a penis on glass was the driver judd apatow no there was no none of that in my dream i very rarely have celebrities in my dream but i didn't know because if you put a face to the penis no that's why I here's the thing it might have been Judd Apatow's penis with like the relative face that matched the penis before the the penis that the face that matched the penis but I I don't know
Starting point is 00:25:01 I don't know what it was and it was like and I woke up and I was like I had not a good dream and he was like well what was it I'm explaining to him he's trying really hard not to laugh because I'm like it was I didn't like it and he goes yeah it sounds and I had obviously told him last night when you text me that and he was like okay well you know it's okay like it's not it's not there i won't press my penis against any glass windows and i was like okay um so that was why i didn't sleep at all last night except if you're not entirely to blame because i am also to blame because months and i stayed up till 2 a.m watching jury duty oh yeah i watched the first episode very good is a show that you can't watch while you're doing other things so i have to yeah
Starting point is 00:25:44 continue watching well because i watch most things while i'm still like that's how i i've finished checking emails at night so when i have time i'm gonna finish watching it we we have two episodes left we literally binged like all of them i'm obsessed it's so fucking good it's gene we're watching it and mods goes wait i think i've heard of this show and i go why he goes i used to work with that guy and i go what and he's pointing to like one of the guys on it and he goes yeah and he looks like look they're mutual friends on instagram like they used to work together and he goes he wanted to be a writer i wonder if he got casted as he goes no he also wrote on it and i was like that's like that's so cool improv so yeah so a lot of them that are writers aren't
Starting point is 00:26:24 also in it it would have given there's one guy that's in the jury that the teacher i don't i don't remember what's he look like he's the thing is he's on parks and rec so i would have realized like he's one of like an uh extra like because parts and rec a lot of the characters like they start out kind of like background characters and then work their way up yeah to be main or like not main but like recurring characters and he's very like noticeable and as soon as i watched i was like i would have known besides old dude that's playing himself i would have been like i know who that guy is so the thing that is is they did a good job with it i'm like really curious i want to hear more about the behind the scenes of it because i was looking into it because
Starting point is 00:27:10 i was like i wonder what courthouse this was and it's like huntington city is that what i think so so it's la county it's not la city but i if i'm not 100 mistaken and like it might not be true but it sounds believable so they could have even told like him that that you can obviously be called for jury duty in la city but also i think you can be called in la just la county yes so as i was saying so like the fact that like it could you could have people who are like oh this person like lives in beverly hills but they're getting called in here but i'd be like that's not his name oh so that would have been that but i that's the so i wondered about like you have to cast people who are not recognized like in that sense because i'm like they're all actors like i
Starting point is 00:27:53 know i recognize one of the the blonde girls who got up there who did a test testimony she's on tiktok testimony testified um she's on tiktok and she's a comedian she's funny and like so people i recognize there's one dude which i need to know if we know someone who knows this person personally because i looked at his entire imdb i know him from nothing but i know him so now i'm thinking i must know this man personally and i'll find that one later and to show you but he's one of my favorites and he's like not getting nearly as enough love that he should but that's part of the reason why i think they so quite like you suspend disbelief you're in la county for jury duty of course there's going to be people like tons of people a lot of people also he's from
Starting point is 00:28:32 san diego so i'm like you're what's his name ronald's the main guy and i was like so you're close enough to la to have a sense of la and but it's not going to be an a hundred percent accurate sense of la so like you're gonna think that there's more famous people here than there actually are so if you recognize people that's fine like if someone who lived in la proper grew up in la proper and it was that many famous people you'd be a little like huh but they sequestered them and took their phones so even if he was like that person looks familiar they're not going to be able to look he can't look it up but didn't he look up uh old dude when he went he said i looked you up last night and i saw all the things that you were in before he was that was before he was
Starting point is 00:29:13 sequestered that's true and so you've in james martin that's once an obvious also because the confirmation of the person coming up to him taking the picture the other guy that's it's enough of a you look familiar yeah i just looked him up too yeah it's enough that you look familiar that it could be like did i go to high school with like like it's it's not enough that specifically unless that was like his favorite show but i think they probably asked a bunch of questions to make sure they were casting because i've seen parks and recs like three times all the way through but i'm just like have him shave his mustache because he looks so much different with a shaved mustache but he looked exactly like how he did in parks and recs so it just threw like i was like it's
Starting point is 00:29:53 like for me with him i would have been like i know who you are if you cast someone from scandal or friends or criminal minds on like i'll know like even if they did one those are like probably of the three shows or gilmore girls i'll know like just no matter what i'm gonna i'm gonna know i'm gonna recognize them um and i was just like i'm so impressed with everyone it's on freebie it's so fucking good it's hilarious and james marston's like the perfect person for this because he's just famous he's famous he's he's been in so many exactly but he's the kind of person where he and he's self-aware to know that like he's been in everything he's a constant working actor but people might not be able to exactly pinpoint what it is that he's from and
Starting point is 00:30:42 that he it's plausible that like he's acting like he thinks he's a lot more famous than he is which is the confirmation bias for a lot of people how they view actors so like it it's the perfect fucking casting of like the whole thing and i'm like very concerned for ronald's like like psyche after this but like apparently like like james martin did a bunch of interviews about how like before he signed on he like talked to production was like we have to be his friend and for anyone who does not know it's basically a mockumentary style show about jury duty where they're saying they're making a documentary about jury duty but everyone is actors except for one guy who doesn't know there's a show back in the early aughts where it was a reality show that was
Starting point is 00:31:35 i forget what the basis of it was but in the same way everybody was actors except for one guy and they uh would put everybody in like these bizarre situations but the the thing was like at the end whoever won would win money but it was a lot of money like a quarter million dollars but like it was always gonna be like he would win but we're gonna make him look like a doofus yeah at the end but he was just endearing like no one like it wasn't like like he was like genuine and concerned about people and like when there were fights he would try to like be the person that was like negotiating things like he was just a nice guy and so it kind of backfired on what they were trying to do but then showed that like humanity can be good wow yeah so that was like
Starting point is 00:32:29 i was thinking about it's like regular joe or something like oh i was thinking about the whole premise of this one about like how they've like thought of like everything in the sense that like for him the anxiety would be like did i say or do something like embarrassed like or like problem bad like am i about to like do all this but it the premise of it is that it was he was it was told there was a casting on craigslist for being in a documentary about jury duty so in that he's already wanting to be on camera he's consenting to be on camera and he knows he's going to be on camera so he's going to conduct himself as if he's on camera but more specifically which i think is why i don't know that you could do this in any other instance this a lot of people don't a lot
Starting point is 00:33:20 of people like at this point in time you think about putting yourself out there you think about your digital footprint and you also have thinking about like are you going to be put into positions and circumstances where people don't think they're going to be put into circumstances where they're going to be canceled for things because they're just never going to come up for him it's jury duty, religion, race, sex, uh, uh, capitalism, your, your views on children, your views on the elder, like your views on like literally everything you have to stand by. You know what I mean? Like, and so you, you, when you're going to be consenting to doing a documentary about jury duty, that means you're comfortable talking about your views on potentially polarizing or sensitive topics
Starting point is 00:34:11 you're comfortable talking about those as yourself publicly with your name behind it not anonymously and I was like that's really good because that's to me I would think that like the biggest thing with like a hidden camera thing would be I mean I wouldn't I'm not saying like oh I don't want someone to like have done that and then like their old like their tweets come out or their personal like profiles come out and they're like a raging like homophobic racist asshole i know it's not that it's that the other actors who are being cast to like hire but like them like they have to improv with someone if it turns out to be like a fucking bigot and it's like that's not okay yeah but like they they thought of everything yep and it's just like i'm so fascinated by so
Starting point is 00:34:57 much casting things and like who they attach and like how they do all of this stuff and they did just such a good job and melissa there is a moment and is it even it's not even episode one do you get to the one the other guy's wearing i've only seen episode i'm i'm clarifying i don't think this is an episode one but um have were they sequestered yet yes okay did you see the guy with the still like the the legs on his pants yet actually no they they just got sequestered that's how the episode ended with them picking who was on the actual jury i need to learn more about Ronald because Ronald I'm like Ronald were you bullied when you were a child Ronald did did you grow up in someone else's shadow were you raised by a single mom do you have a sibling
Starting point is 00:35:47 who you've really cared for like what is your life like because you were not you were this is you're different you're there's something that is like he is he is so kind in this and not in a way where he's performing kindness he's like there this one fucking scene which everybody has had like from that moment on and apparently they were recording like from that moment on they were like we've he's an anomaly like he's puts he like cares like he really cares and he doesn't just like care in the moment he like thinks about people when they're not around which to me is like that's the best kind of person but like he cares about people when nobody's looking and then wants to figure out how you're gonna be how you view or receive and for care from other people
Starting point is 00:36:44 and then he's going to adjust his behavior to make sure that you know that he's caring about you and i'm like what the fuck but between the haircut and the sunglasses you would not the san diego the haircut and the sunglasses you would not know so my idea with casting i'm like you must have really fucking talked to him about so much yeah to get that through to him because he wears what are the the sunglasses that are the duochrome of rainbow colors but not rainbow like like long haul truck driver fishing holding a fish stop the steel sunglasses you know what i mean polarized yeah but i'm trying to think oakley's yeah it's it's it's that and he's got he's got he's got it's the san diego and the haircut and i'm like you walk through the door
Starting point is 00:37:34 and he's six six he's got a girlfriend then he did an interview i saw that it was like kind of backtracking the girlfriend thing and i go you live with her and you have a dog together but i think she might be very private and doesn't want to be out there yeah but like i'm sure they didn't think that the show was gonna blow up the way that it did no it was two years ago too it's phenomenal so that's what i spent so they were filming it during the pandemic so i wondered that because i was wearing the fucking masks um and then i saw two people in a corner with masks on granted it is a pretty covid safe production because you're sequestered and then even the actors that
Starting point is 00:38:15 were dismissed they were then they're gone so like you don't have to worry about it anymore yeah everybody was well it makes sense actually no it's like i say that as if there weren't so many movies that were filmed during the pandemic and are coming out now yeah yeah no but i mean like and it didn't even raise any flags because they were sequestered for the trial and also apparently randomly his girlfriend had no idea again this is all alleged because i read it online um that his girlfriend had no idea that this was that she didn't know she was like production didn't clue her in obviously but apparently like the day before he started she was like oh like i don't know if you know this but like if it's like a big trial or something like or something
Starting point is 00:38:54 happens like they can sequester you and like they'll like take away your phone and stuff and he was like really and she was like yeah i just heard about that or something and everyone's like oh wow she was in on it and she goes no i like genuinely just heard about it it's like he didn't think it was that she was watching new girl when jess was pregnant literally that's what it was also i'm like there's a lot of times that could have happened and also it was at the two years ago well it wasn't even two years ago but that was conversations a lot of people are getting very interested in the johnny depp amber heard trial which i wonder i'm like so everyone you see this being sequestered because
Starting point is 00:39:24 james marston now do you have questions about being sequestered on some other files um this is hilarious because it's actually like they did not really plan this out at all they like pitched the show like they knew what they were going to do and then they greenlit it and they figured it out iconic it's so um if you keep watching mazel it's so far down the road that you'll forget it when i what i'm about to say like and it's not a big thing but they have this thing where they suzy where they're flashing for it with suzy talking about the day like she made it like cemented her name and how she was at a golf course and went around to three different executives and pitched different things that she was making up in her head yeah and said people
Starting point is 00:40:14 were attached to it that weren't um and then they actually like made all the shows and stuff which it happened i was gonna say the amount of times that i have like gone into something where someone's like it was not a pitch meeting but they were like you know do you have any idea and i'm like i could say no or i could say you know i've got a couple or i can just fuck around yeah and done a done a lot of that and like it's it's worked very well it's just how that is but I you're gonna continue to love it and um I will figure out the name of the actor oh it's Amon okay I'm Jerry Doody um and while I was watching Jerry Doody I'm going to do my best I have tried to been figuring it out while um we've been recording this but I can't because
Starting point is 00:41:09 I wrote down the name wrong but there is an ad that played while we're watching Jerry Doody on and i don't know if there has been a petition with sag to incorporate commercial actors for eligibility to win oscars nobel peace prizes or a medal of honor but there is a woman who did a commercial about something with diarrhea and the entire premise of the commercial is she's in public situations she's at work she's with her family she's doing everything she's in loud busy streets and she's constantly sitting on a toilet the entire commercial is her sitting on a toilet pretending to like have diarrhea while just like functioning with her life and people want her to win an award yes because that is the strongest the bravest woman
Starting point is 00:42:01 i've ever seen that is true that's an american hero she she i hope she got paid so much money i can't explain to you how many extras there are in these scenes and she's sitting there on a huge toilet and she is she's acting her ass off with no words because it's a commercial so it's silence so you're just hearing like you know and she's there and she's there's a scene she's talking to her doctor while she's sitting on the toilet i feel her pain i feel i i know her story she's acting her ass off and i think she deserves an award okay i will find this ad and i will show it to you and you will know that like i don't say this lightly like there are a lot of embarrassing things that actors are asked to do this this this commercial is mott's thought it was an s he
Starting point is 00:43:03 thought it was an snl skit oh my gosh and she's a hero well let's wrap it up there yep i will everyone follow up i will figure out what it is and i will let you know if you know off the top of your head i mean i'm sure if you google because all the commercials are on one website where oh okay it shows i'll find it yeah it shows um who all worked on it it's kind of like the imdb of commercials so i'm sure it's on there okay and um that sounds good i will find her and i if i can't change the hearts and minds of the unions and and hollywood i will i will make my own award and give it to her she's my hero i'm sure there's a uh award for commercials she should get it and melissa i can't i can't express to you if state farm doesn't swoop that bitch up like
Starting point is 00:44:00 i need someone to get her a regular massive kind of deal like that because she deserves it it's ispot.tv is the website okay oh my god i will be there anyways well that is it we hope you enjoyed this episode and let us know what content you are watching what should we watch next because i'm about to by the time you hear this i will have finished jury duty you still have mazel to watch that's true we will watch that i spot dot
