to get started.
Well, watch out for this guy.
White flag.
Red and I.
Hello.
Clear.
Free home.
Free light.
Coming to the line.
Door.
Bumper.
Clear.
Welcome to the show.
This week we don't.
Brett's on vacation again.
So we have a super special guest.
We've been waiting for this moment so we can get a, you know, an awesome guy in here to replace Brett.
So let's introduce him.
Hey, guys.
Elliot Sattler here, driving one main financial Chevrolet.
Thank God, Brett.
Finally.
went on vacation where I could come sit in his seat.
You know, I was waiting for him to leave.
We all were.
So it's a good excuse for me to show up.
I think it's a good one.
Thanks for having me.
I even wore my short shorts.
Yes.
So this is big.
Even wore my short shorts.
So it would be the same.
I'm even going to sit like him as well because I want my room on the couch.
His face isn't as red though.
So you might want to put on some makeup.
Okay.
His face is usually bright red.
Yeah.
I need some.
What was it?
A concealer?
Is that what I need?
I need something like that?
that going on. Honestly, I'm not actually hosting a show, but I am stopping by to say hello,
but I'm going to introduce the best spotter in the room. Freddie Craig. Freddy, come on in,
guys. Hey, before you leave a call, I got a question for you. Okay. Yep. We're going to Darlington.
You got a road course race coming up, but then we go to Darlington. Yeah. You know what I think of
the first thing that comes to mind when Darlington gets said? My bus driver winning the day, the Darlington
Southern 500. Somebody went back and watched the video. They would not give him the trophy.
He's pissed.
They tweeted us a pitcher of that thing
sitting on pit road leading the field.
I thought it was pretty awesome.
He got in pretty big trouble over that.
I made him pay his on fine
because, dude, I didn't tell you to leave
before the races all the way.
His excuse was, well, the guy opened the gate.
But you should know.
But he raced Bobby Lamani back to the line.
And he won.
So he won the Southern 500,
but he paid dearly for it.
What was the fine?
$5,000.
I feel like that's low compared to now.
Wheel.
Well, that's for the bus show.
Wheel.
Wheel.
Wheel.
And this is also the guy that calls electricity.
Current.
Current.
You lost current.
We lost current.
We got to get current back.
We currently have lost current at the moment.
But that's a whole other show.
It is.
It is.
It is.
You, Brett, wheel.
Wheel.
Wheel.
Well, anyway, well, thanks for coming on here for a few.
So next time, maybe y'all let me stay a little longer.
Right now, come on over here, Freddy.
I got a nice and warm for you.
You guys have a good show.
Freddie, pull your shorts up.
So Freddie is connected to Brett's phone all the time.
Do you have his directions on, like where he is, find my iPhone?
Do you have location?
I believe he's there.
He should be there already because I think he's feeling right now.
I think he feels miserable right now.
Actually, I think he is sleeping right now.
I think he is sleeping right now if I had to guess.
We should all call him.
Let's call him.
He'll answer if you call him.
God, he's probably up.
He's probably awake.
He probably feels miserable.
He's probably drunk.
Hello.
Hey, what are you doing?
What's up?
Are you drunk?
No, I just woke up.
I told you he was still sleeping.
Damn.
We just wanted to call and say hi.
He's supposed to sleep late.
That's why I had you come in.
So I didn't have to get up early.
So I didn't have to get up early.
So you got to get up early.
We thought, we were hoping you were, well, you know, hurting right now.
No, man, it's a family vacation.
This ain't a wild thing.
Yeah, okay.
I feel like that wouldn't stop you.
All right.
So we, just so you know, we did replace you for a few minutes with Elliot.
So, you know.
Oh, good.
Yeah.
I know he was down there doing a download today.
That's cool.
Yeah, we talked a little bit about him winning the race with the bus.
And, yeah.
Oh, no, what do you say about that?
Do you remember that?
He said they didn't give him the trophy.
And he said he made a wheel pay the fine.
Yeah, that poor guy, bless his heart, man.
He had a tough run there for a few years.
He did.
He did.
But all right, well, this isn't nearly as exciting as we were hoping it was going to be.
We were hoping you were still drunk.
Yeah.
You better have some stories next week.
If we'd have won, we would have been, but we kind of didn't win.
No, no.
That's nice to you.
That's true.
All right.
We'll let you go, man.
All right, y'all have fun.
All right, bud.
See you.
See you.
That was way more low-key than I thought it was going to be.
Yeah, that pretty much just sucked.
Yeah.
If I don't know when he was sober, we shouldn't even call.
I mean, the chances of him being sober are so slim when he's not working that I...
Especially after like a Sunday off too.
I liked our chances there, but we...
Yeah.
He ruined it.
He obviously didn't win, so...
I mean, that's pretty much...
I thought I was worried.
I was worried for the wives because I thought they were going to win.
and it's supposed to be a family vacation.
And I can't imagine what they'd be going through right now
if they won that race.
Yeah.
Always worry for the wives.
This call would have been a lot more exciting.
You always worry for the wives.
Like, Brett's wife has to, she probably does there some sort of an award.
Yeah, like she has a golden ticket straight to heaven.
Claudia.
I don't know.
I think Clint's wife might be up there too.
Oh, I'm sure she is.
I don't know, I don't know Larr that well, but I hung out and spent a lot of time with Brett and Claudia.
and she's got a golden ticket straight to hate.
He's got a house full of kids too.
Yeah.
Like.
Oh, yeah.
Like, yeah.
He's almost got a basketball team.
And then he invites us over so then she has a house full of like nine kids.
Yeah, more kids.
Yeah.
So, yeah, more.
So Claudia, you deserve a trophy.
If there's a door bumper clear wives trophy, you're going to get one.
You get it every year.
You get it.
So, yeah.
Anyway, so you did, you had a full Bristol.
Did you every race?
Every race,
Quadruple.
Well, I did the modified race, the truck race, the Xfinity race, and two laps of the cup race.
Who did you do in the modified race?
I had Timmy Salamito in the 16, drove up there, took the lead, and then we...
I saw none of that.
We did not do very well at the second half.
And then decent Xfinity and truck races for our guys finished top 15 or both.
Now you do, in the Xfinity series, you have Garrett Smithley.
Garrett.
The trucks, it's a...
Big sunglasses.
Big sunglasses.
Andy Houston.
It looks like Andy Houston, don't he?
They ever seen a picture of them?
He wears, like, gigantic sunglasses.
I like Garrett's, I like Garrett.
He's actually, he plays a little bit of the PubG game, too.
He plays it on the computer.
He's a good kid.
I mean, he's always, he's always receptive to stuff we say, you know,
and that's all really you're looking for from a guy that you work with.
Yeah.
What about you, TJ?
Do you run the Xfinity to?
I ran the Xfinity race.
Wow.
You ran it?
You ran it?
Where'd you finish?
How'd you run?
Spotted it.
I think we finished fifth, maybe fourth or maybe fifth.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I forget what happened in it.
I don't remember the Xfinity race at all.
Who won?
We had the inside lane like two resarts in a row, and that does no good for you.
But we were competitive.
Then I think we got up to fifth at the end.
Cup race.
We were pretty good most of the night.
We fell off a little bit second half.
When the tracks started tightening up and everything, but I think we led some, won a stage,
and I don't know, finishing fourth.
So that's a lot better than your race.
Was that exceeding your expectations?
Because it seemed like you guys weren't that great getting into Saturday night.
But then it seemed like you ran the phone.
I expected to finish probably anywhere between fifth and eighth.
So I think fourth is, you know, we had the right lane on a restart.
I think we restarted 6 or 8th or something like that.
And I think we started 8th, restarted 8th, got the 6th on the restart and then passed two of them to get to 4th.
So, but I'll take it.
So, yeah, that's too bad.
It was way better than my race.
Yeah.
Brett had a pretty good race, too.
His car was really, his car was good on long runs.
Wasn't as good on short runs as a few of them.
We were really good on short runs.
After 30, 40 laps, we weren't as good.
Yeah.
But you could tell with the 14 and 78 there, like that battle they had,
like you can tell the 48, 78 was all over him for about 10, 15 laps.
Yeah, and then the 14.
He was away from him.
For sure.
And then Kyle, Chromehorn to 78.
Yeah.
Were you home by that point?
No, I didn't get home.
It's, I, Bubba rode back.
me so we didn't get we got to above his house right after it ended pretty much oh wow yeah i drove
so then jrude cruise i mean jeez i mean it was it was pretty quick race turned over and looked at the
door and saw you pulling your bag off the roof i'm like he was gonna be home in a little while
yeah tyler texts me because i guess tyler fell out or broke something early he's just telling me
how jealous he was because he was like 80 laps down 27 laps in they were right around there they
had a they had an issue and we're done for the nat'sel and then he waited for us so yeah we we i went
home. I drove up there for the modified race on Wednesday night. So then, yeah, I text Bubba because
Bubba flew. I said, you want to ride home? And it actually, I think we got home the same time
as the team guys did because enough guys fell out where they loaded the plane up. Oh, yeah, that's right.
They filled some of them up when they're full. They close the door.
Yeah, take off. So probably didn't gain him anything by driving home, but save me about three hours.
Sometimes the drive home is fun.
No. Anyway, all right.
Shall we get into this show? Well, first of all, how is your,
weekend. Yeah. You've been quiet.
I was in Bristol. I worked
this weekend. We wouldn't know because you don't come
ever come and say hi to us. It's nice for you.
When you leave this studio, your
coolness level goes way above us and you don't
ever talk to us. What are you talking about?
I actually respond in the group chat.
I'm not even in the group. That can't
even get in the group chat. That's real nice guys.
What does that have to do with anything
about when we get to the racetrack?
You're not like, hey guys, you're on the roof. I must
swing by. You're like, no, I'm too damn
cool for that.
What are you talking about?
I'm never on the roof.
I'm just saying you don't ever make an attempt to be like, hey, guys, you know where we're at.
I don't have that access.
Okay.
Go up and say aye.
Yeah, really?
You have a hard card?
I do.
Be quiet.
You're good.
Don't tell anybody else that, though.
Yeah.
Too old for all them steps.
Actually, that's a hike.
Is that a life alert you're wearing?
To everybody who's tweeted me about life alert, yes.
I got it and we'll be considering it in the future.
I need that for like Friday night.
Like, anytime I hang out at bread,
we should get matching life alerts.
That's what we need.
For Nashville, I think that might be something.
Do they make like couples life alerts where it's like half a heart and they has a button on each one?
You get half.
I get half to like call Megan.
Like if I fall down, it's just.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm on the ground again.
The problem is, is that you're going to be on the couch and you want something out of the refrigerator.
You're going to start pushing it.
Hey, you bring me something to drink?
Well, I do that now.
I just scream, though.
Right.
Well, it might be easier just to push a button.
Yeah.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could.
No, I'm going to stop.
No, not for the wives.
I'm stopping.
You know, push a button.
This is going to go down a wrong path.
Yep.
Not a good idea.
Yeah, this is bad.
I'm not doing it anymore.
But fine, next time I will make more of an effort, but it does work both ways.
So we can't leave the roof.
Yeah.
I mean, we're stuck.
Oh, you had like a three hour break.
When?
Oh.
Friday.
in between practices.
So, I doubt it.
I didn't hear you calls.
There's no way we had a three-hour break.
I was eating lunch in the media center.
Do you use like the huge font on your phone so you can see it?
Actually.
No.
It's like one word per line.
Can we talk about the?
What?
The midget driving car?
Oh my gosh, yes.
I made the mistake of bringing this up earlier.
So.
Casey's getting.
marriage soon. Right. January.
Not soon.
Trust me. Trust me. It's sooner than you think.
So you're saying there's a chance, guys.
Well, so Chad had this idea.
We were thinking about what we wanted to do for our getaway car, like, how we
wanted to leave. And so Chad was like, why don't I get a two-seater midget and we can
drive off in it? If that is the most redneck thing I've ever heard, what did Mike
Davis said? Like, who are you guys? Like, that's not really red-necked.
I don't really know that you need a two-seater.
You guys could probably both squeeze into one.
Well, first off, Chad will not be able to drive after our wedding?
I mean, I told you earlier.
I've seen Chad drive and drunk or sober, it probably doesn't make much of it.
So, honestly, though, like, leaving that, like, you're usually so busy, like,
talking to people and doing stuff.
You know, it's hard to get, it's hard to get drunk at your own.
I mean, like, when you're in a, I don't know.
Had no trouble whatsoever.
Like, depends on, I guess it depends on the, the facility.
where you're at.
Like, if you're at, like,
if it's a nice place or whatever,
but if you're already at, like,
where is it going to be at?
Oh, Langtree?
Yeah.
So, what's the dates
everybody can come?
They'll show up, all the fans.
I met like,
like, a nice, like,
yeah.
I know it's nice, but like.
It's nice.
So it's a local facility.
So I hired a planner for, like,
the last half of things to help me with.
Most do.
Yeah.
And so she, I basically said just make sure you keep us, like,
have drinks in hands at all time.
That's all I care about.
So that's her job.
It is actually.
Like, like TJ's saying,
though, you're doing so much during the reception.
Like, I definitely got drunk in mine,
but it was afterwards.
Like, we went to Whiskey River.
Brett and J.R.
hooked us up,
and we had a room.
But you probably had something lined up to take you there.
You weren't planning on driving off into the sunset.
Like the traditional wedding.
Traditional weddings,
we see if you get in a hotel.
And then just drive off.
Everything's tied to it.
You drive away.
Just married, blah, blah, blah.
Yeah, you're not, that's what you didn't do that.
No, we had ours at a hotel.
Exactly. That's what I'm saying.
Like, you're, yeah.
So let's see how that was.
He wants to admit it.
Oh, never mind.
So where?
I backtracked there for a second.
I don't understand.
Because where do you drive that to?
You can't get on this.
That's the part that we have to figure out too is we have to put turn signals on it and stuff.
It's just burn and there.
You know, there's a dirt.
You can find some dirt.
You can probably find some dirt.
Yeah.
No handed donuts, Chad.
That's what I said.
Drive it into the lake.
Oh, he'd kill me if I did that.
Yeah.
He should let you drive.
Yeah.
That would be, that's the deal.
Well, we also have to find a place to stay after.
You should surprise them and drive up in it.
I can't drive that thing.
I don't even know how it started.
You just ruined the whole surprise.
Way to go.
He's going to listen.
That's a good idea.
I should.
Show up in it.
Like, roll in, like, drive it down the aisle.
That's what I'm saying.
Like, you need to show up at the door.
Like, bam, bomb, bomb.
He'll be like, what is that?
I feel like having to use a push truck to get started might kill the romance side of it.
Do it up the road.
How the bride?
Had the bridal party push you.
Yeah, I'm sure it'll fire right off.
Anyway, the midget sounds like a terrible idea all around.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I was teaching something like a nice car.
If he would have like the only,
Chris Rabel put one in his dining room after he won the Chili Bowl.
Yeah.
I mean, that's borderline.
That's a little bunch of it.
You got a race car in your dining room.
I mean, that's cool because he doesn't have kids and a wife,
but that's not going to fly later on.
I did say if Chad wins Chili Bowl, he could do that too.
So I'll allow that.
Yeah, you'll get once you have a couple kids and they're climbing all over, you're going to have to move it.
Yeah, it's going to be like a swing set here in a little while.
Yeah.
So, I mean, anyway, all right, I guess we can roll on now.
Spot on, spot off.
Truex wrecked by Kyle Busch while racing for second.
Freddie.
Uh, I mean, spot off, I guess.
You know, obviously you never want to see anybody get wrecked.
TJ, well, no, it was the other way around.
It would be better for TJ.
But, uh, I mean, um,
I don't, obviously, I don't think he intentionally went up there and wrecked him.
I think he was hauling ass.
That 18 was digging on a long run.
He seemed like I was listening on the radio,
and it sounded like they were counting down half a second a lap
that he was running the leaders down.
I just think he just misjudged a little bit and turned him.
And then Martin obviously wasn't very happy,
and his wife was, or girlfriend, Sherry, was pretty upset on Twitter.
I've seen Bubba retweeted something.
But obviously, I never once he got to get rid.
What does she tweet?
Something like he's a moron or something.
Yeah.
I think she also tweeted she wanted.
someone to punch Kyle
but she deleted that one.
Oh,
that one got deleted.
I seen Bubba like
re-tweeted one of them.
Of course.
Well,
I mean,
spot off because you can't,
I mean,
you're running with the top guys
and,
I mean,
I mean,
Kyle kind of already
destroyed enough cars at night.
Yeah.
No.
You know how that goes.
I know that one.
But I think it was just close racing.
I don't think Kyle
intentionally turned him.
But this is the,
this is the whole thing
about Kyle,
though.
Like this,
if this was happening,
to him, he would be flipping out.
Like, I've seen Kyle make a little bit of a mistake or whatever.
He just wrecked, you know, he just wrecked the whole most of the field in the beginning
of the race, a whole handful of guys.
And, you know, if this happened to him, he'd be flipping out, being, you know, and doing
all this stuff.
But hopefully he understands that, you know, look, guys can make mistakes.
Yeah.
Well, that's the thing, like, you talk about him.
Like, if it was the reverse.
And I was thinking about Daytona.
That was reverse and Bubba spun out running 10th and Red Biel.
Or Kyle was one of them.
Beed wear him out.
Or Taladaaga with Ricky.
Is there anywhere on the show sheet that we talk about Kyle's car?
I know you can talk about now.
Yeah, I was good.
I mean, dang.
That's beat up.
Beat up in the best way.
Yeah, beat up, but like, yeah, beat up, but like, awesome.
Yeah.
You know, oh, let's take the deck lid.
Let's take the bumper cover off.
That's speed.
Yeah.
Let's go ahead and flare out this right side quarter panel.
Okay, that's just like a wing over there now.
nice. So, like, he had every...
Sometimes I think he's really lucky.
Yeah. The way he got damaged... I mean, the way they fixed it, obviously helped it. But like
you said, he's just lucky the way... The way it got damaged and everything. And then they did a
really good job of taking everything that was hurt with the car. And I kind of counted
them out. Yeah. And they took everything, you know, did everything they could to make it,
you know, aerodynamically better than what it could have been because missing the bumper
cover is huge.
Yeah.
And that right rear is big too.
The right rear was flared out and longer.
They stretched out.
Like it was sticking out.
Like I'm like, holy cow.
I noticed a couple guys when I went back.
I watched it this morning.
And like there was a couple guys that must have been in that first wreck that got,
you know,
ass packed a little bit.
And their right rears are flared out.
And they were guys that were running better than they normally would really hard.
But ours just pushed the bumper in.
It didn't flare anything out.
Is that something NASCAR looks at?
Like,
it's their discretion.
Yeah.
On whether you can take it off.
That was a mile and a half, I don't think, that it had for sure been putting one on.
Somebody had posted a sheet somewhere I've seen on Twitter where there's,
Martin'sville and Bristol.
It's like mandatory here, mandatory here, not mandatory here.
So like a mile and a half, they would make them put something back there or Daytona Taday.
Obviously, they'd make them put something back there where the short tracks.
I think Bristol's fast enough that it could.
The reason is because if you spin out a mile and a half with no bumper cover on there, it could be bad.
It just create a lift.
The car spins out backwards.
There's nothing there to block the air.
so it's going to lift the back of the car up and it could possibly flip.
But Bristol, in my opinion, is fast enough that it can be an advantage, too.
I think anywhere that you're going with any kind of speed.
Martin'sville doesn't really.
It doesn't hurt.
I mean, it doesn't help you as much, obviously.
Yeah, I still think so.
It doesn't worry me as much.
But Bristol's fast enough and you're, I mean, in my opinion, it's fast enough for an
aerodynamic advantage, to be fair.
And Kyle's one of the guys that can take something like that and really use it.
Yeah.
So, but, you know, spot off for him turning a guy, all that rate.
You know, you raced out so hard to get to that point.
But I guess it kind of came back to him.
Yeah.
Yeah, he got his back.
On that note, next one, fan confronts and shoves Kyle Busch after Saturday Night's race.
You know, I'm spot off for the guy.
I'm fine with verbal stuff.
You know, hey, you know, you stank, blah, blah, blah.
Obviously, they use other words.
But, ah, man, you can't, you shouldn't, I mean, you shouldn't be touching them.
you shouldn't go up to him and these guys are our stars and stuff doesn't matter who it is
whether he wrecked your guy or not you can't you should no way be physical with him but i got to
give kyle credit for standing up like he bowed up to the guy uh so spot off for the guy you know
getting that close to touch him yeah well spot on for tj having family at the race this week and then uh
sorry spot off
obviously for the fan.
Like we've seen it last year at Martinsville
when the guy went after Danny on Pit Road.
And what's going to be unfortunate about is if this
takes some kind of experience away from other fans
that don't have this, you know, urge
to go up there and yell at a guy.
Like you said, you can go yell at a guy
MFM all day you want, but like, you can't take it this far.
And you're going to, what you're going to do is end up costing
other people an opportunity to be on pit road
or get that close to the drivers afterwards.
So, I mean, definitely spot off on that fan
and any fan that's considering going anywhere
near these drivers when they, you know, have an issue.
We love our passion.
The passion of fans are what makes a sport, but you got to come across that boundary.
I mean, if you don't like the guy, I don't care if you make a sign or, you know, if you're a little rude.
I mean, I don't care if you heckle him a little bit.
That's part of it.
But, you know, in no way should you be, you know, physical with the guy at all.
Yeah, absolutely not.
Especially if he has no, like, say whatsoever in NASCAR.
Or he can't fight anyway.
That too.
Makes a difference.
I mean, you two against you there would be pretty awesome.
me and who
Kyle that would be awesome
I don't really know if that would work out too well
I do take kickboxing class
I don't really know
oh yeah right now
you guys look like the
the strings on a ceiling fan
swinging at each other
you could probably do that thing with my head
just like you can't get any farther
but yeah I don't know
I don't really think I want to find out
spot on spot off
Casey Kane retiring at the end of
2018.
Spot on.
You know, Casey,
obviously one of the guys
that's kind of been a
superstar in this sport
for,
I don't even know,
what,
15 years or so now.
Yeah, it's been a long time.
It's been a long time.
Probably a little more than that.
Yeah.
I mean,
I don't know,
I don't know that he's probably,
I'm sure this comes
at, you know,
this year he's where he's at,
95 car.
He's not having the success
he might have hoped he had over there.
And it's kind of just riding off
into the sunset.
I'm sure he wants to go
pursue some dirt stuff.
And I know he's finishing
a house.
So, you know, it's big for him, big deal for the sport.
Hopefully we get to see him a little bit next year, part-time maybe.
But definitely spot on.
Great career.
Did a lot for fans promoting the sport and stuff.
Yeah, I'm always spot on for a guy going out on his terms.
You know, and he got into a car that wasn't what he was used to driving.
But still, he's kind of ending it.
You know, he could keep driving in case he's got more years than him, in my opinion.
He's got, I mean, Mark Martin drove for.
forever.
Yeah.
And I feel like Casey's got, you know, more good years, but that's good for him.
He can go.
And I remember when I first moved North Carolina, Casey was driving.
He had just got in the Great Clips 38 Xfinity car, I believe.
Might even been before that.
What did he drive before the Great Clips car?
Was that it?
I think that might have been it.
That's it, yeah, that I remember.
Yeah.
So him and, him and like Casey Mears and all them guys all came in around the same time.
And we kind of hung around at the group a little bit.
And I just, you know, I've always been around Casey a little bit, but I'm, you know,
uh, congrats for him on a successful career.
Now he can, uh, go spend some time.
He's got a little one.
So yeah, he can watch him grow up and kind of guide him and, and go do some fun stuff.
So spot on for Casey.
I think it's awesome too how he, I mean, there were opportunities for him to meet with like other teams,
but he knew what he wanted and kind of went for it.
So, yeah.
I mean, they had it.
Word had it that they were resigning.
He was talking about resigning there, and they had everything,
and Casey decided that he was, you know, just going to hang it up.
I wonder how much of, like, Brad went in that Knoxville race, played into that.
Like, where I'm sure they went there.
He was there, enjoyed it.
Like, see, like, you know what?
Maybe, why don't I want to do this?
Yeah.
You know, some more.
Well, you can kind of tell, like, Casey used to be pretty competitive when he'd go getting
him outlaw cars, but he hasn't run him as much.
And now he goes back and, you know, kind of, it kind of struggles a little bit.
but I think I can see him running some more Ward of Outlaw stuff.
Absolutely.
CMT announces a Racing Lives reality TV show, spot on, spot off.
TJ, you already have something to say.
It's going to be interesting.
It's going to be very, because of the people in it, it's going to be entertaining.
What I hope is it doesn't give the wrong image because, you know, there's different.
different groups that there's different groups at the racetrack that's obviously one group there you
know they you know nothing wrong with it but they're just it's going to be exciting what's the cast
do we know the cast we have ashley bush samantha bush mariel yeah um whitney war everybody you want
to follow on instagram and snapchat somebody is trish on there trisha is on it yeah somebody
so you still want to build a chat
sisters, and I couldn't have said, but I figured it must have been Trish, which I don't know.
Like, I figure out.
I feel like some of the cast is not exactly in touch with reality.
They're, they're, now Trish is not one of them, obviously.
But, yeah, I don't, I don't know how they are going to relate to.
This reality for them is probably different than reality for a lot of others.
Like, it's just different.
For our fan base is what I'm getting at.
That's, it's, I don't, I don't know how to say.
say without really offended anybody, but like it just feel like the core real world or something.
Yeah, like the real world mass.
I also say, I don't know if you watch reality TV show because, well, I'm guilty of it.
I think to they make up a lot, like they'll spin certain situations.
It's kind of half-ass scripted, basically.
So you never know what they'll come up with.
I mean, I don't personally know a lot of the girls out there on the show, so I can't really
speak for how they normally are.
They like to have fun.
Yeah.
So that'll make it everything.
You said, they make good for follows.
That's, yes, it's entertaining.
It's entertaining.
So it should be good.
I mean, it's going to be entertaining to watch.
So are you already texting her?
I'm sorry.
I don't know what.
What did Brett say?
Brett made a comment.
They texted us saying,
if Brett was on the show, he'd probably have a lot more.
Oh, Brett, me, Brad, had a lengthy conversation about this this weekend.
I really, I really feel like we should call him back and ask him this question.
because he might have something really good to say about it.
You think you would?
Yeah, but we could ask him next week,
or after Darlington we want to.
You wait for him to come back.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The last phone call sucked, so.
Yeah.
Can you imagine if he was drunk when we called and asked me.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Let's call him later.
Jay, let's come back at like 9 o'clock tonight.
It's called Brett again.
Special edition show tonight.
The Brett, the Uber Brett Griffin show.
And then get Clint on to.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Just face it.
Well, we're going to call them at 2 a.m.
That's what we're going to do.
And then we'll record it and replay it later.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's take a break.
TJ, one main financials back.
They're running their 2018.
One main speedway sweepstakes.
Say that fast three times.
No, I can't do it.
The winners will be flown North Carolina for the roval race Charlotte weekend.
The roble's going to be crazy, man.
We tested there two weeks ago.
T.J. and I were blown away at how fast the cars go.
and if you run off the track, you're hitting something, man.
But you're not going to believe what all you're going to get.
If I were going to come to Charlotte, I would definitely want to meet Dale Jr. and Elliott Sadler.
We're going to give you that opportunity, but there are some other things, too.
Yeah, there's a VIP treatment package during the cup race as well.
Yeah, a lot of swag.
I got some new swag today.
Mike Davis gave me a dirty-mo shirt.
I see that.
Did you get one?
Finally.
Can you take my shirt, Casey, and make it wear those little things look like tassels in the back.
You know how girls do that?
Hey, guess what?
Guess what?
You know what the best part is?
There's a ride-along with me.
No, I'm just kidding.
Actually, it's Dale Jr.
You get to ride with Dale Jr.
And if I'm a race fan, I want to ride with Dale Jr.
But you've watched him race a lot.
You may not want to ride with it.

This is your Exalta Race Center update on Matthew Dillner.
It was a big weekend of NASCAR thrills in the hills of Tennessee at Bristol Motor Speedway.
It all kicked off on Thursday with a double header.
In NASCAR Wheel and Modified Tour action, Justin Bonsignor took the win.
Then it was a truck series turn.
Johnny Sauter took the lead with four laps to go and captured his series best fifth win of 2018
solidifying him as the regular season champion.
In Xfinity Series action on Friday,
Kyle Larson held off a hard-charging Justin Allgaier
to visit Bristol Victory Lane for the very first time.
On Saturday night, Kurt Busch took the point on a late race restart
and never looked back en route to his first Bristol win since 2006.
The Cup Series heads into its final off weekend of the season,
but that doesn't mean NASCAR isn't in action.
The Xfinity Series goes right and left at Rhode America and Wisconsin on season.
Saturday. On Sunday, the trucks do battle north of the border at Canadian Tire Motorsports
Park. Also, the Junior Motorsports late models battle the bullring at Wake County Speedway
in North Carolina on Saturday night. This has been your Exalta Race Center update. Exalta is the

And we are back.
Let's hit in the fast.
We are back now that Casey's mic is in her mouth.
Close enough to it.
Let's hit in the fast lane.
I will give T.J. and Freddie a few questions, and they'll have 30 seconds to answer.
Let's see if they actually make it in 30 seconds.
Yeah, let's see it.
First one.
Kurt Busch snapped a 58 race winless streak Saturday night at Bristol.
Who will be the next to break?
a 50 plus race winless streak.
You've got Bain, 275, Minar, 256.
Why these numbers?
Oh, these are races.
Yeah, races, yeah.
Wow, I thought these are points.
Reagan, 194 races, yeah.
Holy cow.
I mean, this is impressive, actually.
Good job with these numbers.
Of course.
And good job for putting Freddie's name in there and just not leaving it at Brett.
Yeah, good work.
I appreciate that.
I appreciate that.
So good job on that.
I didn't realize it's been that long since Kurt hasn't won.
Was the Daytona 500 his last win?
Wow.
Kurt's been in contention and probably should have won a couple races in the last year or two.
So it doesn't really surprise me Kurt winning.
I would say judging by current, you know, how they're running on the track right now,
I think Al Marola has been showing them a lot of speed,
but he has yet to put together that race where he just completes the whole race.
My guess is
I could really see Almaninger winning the Roval
But I'm going to roll with Almerall
Yeah, I think Amarola is the obvious choice
He's the only guy left of Stuart Haas
He hasn't won a race now
He's definitely been the fast
I feel like he's probably been the second or third
You know 2A, 2B between Clint and him
With the fastest car
Second fastest car at Stuart Haas
So he's definitely been making attention
I think he's definitely at the speed
Menard
He's been popping off some decent run
He could sneak in there.
And obviously, you got Almondinger at the Roval.
I'll go Almondinger for the Roval.
That's coming up.
That'll be a, what is that called here?
A Shisho?
A Shisho?
I think it's going to be awesome.
I mean, it's going to be great for the fans.
It's going to be great.
You know, anytime I've realized that most of the time when the drivers complain,
it's usually pretty exciting.
Yeah.
Because a lot of these guys, like, you know, just going to figuring it out in the race track.
You know, they don't like, like, technical stuff.
And when you start getting, anyway, yeah, I'm,
I'm going to go, Al Marolla.
His last win was Daytona, the rain shorten race?
2014.
Wow.
That's his only win, right?
I think.
It is.
McMurray, that's surprising McMurray is on this list with as, with as
Larson runs every now and then.
I thought McMurray could squeeze out a good run every now, you know, and be up there.
172 races.
Yeah, probably since Tyler started with him, probably.
Yeah, ever since Tyler starts, it's been downhill for Jamie.
Tyler, how many races have you had with Jamie?
172?
Let's see who else could we do
Newman, I mean
Newman can sneak
Newman's very easily
He can sneak away
So that's his last one's probably Phoenix
Phoenix yeah
So and they stayed out
Got to leave
And Newman obviously is going to be hard to pass
So
Bill Elliott will compete in the Xfinity
Series race this weekend at Road America
Along with IndyCar series driver
Connor Daley
This is a good one
Who will perform better
Head to head.
I think this is a toss-up.
What's Bill now?
He's in a 23 car.
Connor Daly is in what?
He's a Roush car.
A Roush car.
A Roush car.
It's a six car.
Oh, man.
Something like that.
But Connor just ran for America, didn't he?
Yeah.
An indie car.
I mean, obviously different, but like he knows the track.
Literally not even close to being the same.
I'm sure Bill's on eye racing right now knocking it out.
I mean, if you take Bill at 45 years old, I'm taking Bill all week.
But at 95 years old, I don't know that bill.
He's 95.
Is he 95?
Probably 94.
Is he less than 95?
Yeah.
Are we towering this?
And when Freddie's ready to.
Well, he's been going.
I've been interrupted.
I don't know.
Okay, ding.
You go all the rebutt.
You have a Nintendo game.
A Nintendo game.
This is not, shouldn't...
No.
I'm talking excite bike.
R.C. Pro Am.
Mario Brothers.
Yeah.
Tetris.
I mean,
Nintendo.
Before you were born.
Probably.
No, there's no probably.
What you were born?
98.
Oh, way before you.
You were born after Super Nintendo.
We had Joe Montana talking in games by that point.
Are you kidding me?
What was the first video game you remember?
Sonic the Hedgehog.
I don't know.
I did a lot of sports video games, so it was mainly that stuff.
What was the first gaming system?
What's the first one you remember playing?
Yeah.
PlayStation 2.
You'd have no idea.
It looked like, dude.
Yeah, you got a bloody game, put it out.
No, it's not working.
You'd have to, like, set it in there real soft.
Oh, my gosh.
You have no idea about the struggles, do you?
I just put it in and it works.
You have no idea about holding the gun up the screen, shooting ducks, dude.
Did you have that pad?
Like, do you ever have that, like, remember you ran on that pad?
Did you ever get the big joystick thing, the flat, big square we had to join?
Did you, the buttons were like that round?
No.
How did we start talking about this?
From Deli and Nintendo.
I'm sorry.
Ding, ding him now.
I said he was 95.
It took a whole deal.
What year is this?
Currently?
2018.
Correct.
What year did Nintendo come out?
Probably in the 80s.
90s?
It was like 90s.
No, Nintendo was like 85.
You're right.
It was like late 80s.
I think it was after that.
Maybe.
I bet it was like 88.
Possibly.
Can you ding them?
Jason's got some going on there.
Stop dingin us.
Well, what the heck?
85.
Where are we talking about it?
Holy cow.
Even better.
Even better.
But it was an awesome game.
the way.
So who you going with?
Man, dude, I got to go with Connor Daly.
You're taking Connor Daly?
Yeah, he's driven the car last week.
He knows what he's getting in.
And honestly, that's a decent car for a road course.
And, you know, he's got all of his experiences of road courses.
I don't remember Bill it being a ringer.
Yeah.
That's what I said to Brett.
I said, I don't remember Bill like, like Terry LaBoney on Dale Jr.'s last week, and he was a badass road racer.
I don't remember Bill being a badass road racer.
Every win you see him in is.
a big old plate track or, you know, he was awesome back of the day.
I don't remember Bill being.
Just for the sake of arguing, in fact, I'm going to take Bill because he's in a better car.
You know, and AJ just runs second with it at Watkins Glen.
I'm sure the comparable AJ and Bill.
You want to hear a cool story about Bill real quick?
The only time that I miss practice for Dale Jr. in Phoenix, guess who covered for me?
Oh, really?
Oh, yeah.
That's awesome.
I had to call him and ask him if he could do it.
Someone's like, oh, Bill, he'll be there.
So I call him like, hey, Bill.
Holy cow, I'm calling Bill Elliott
to ask to cover me.
What's going on?
But yeah, that's pretty awesome.
I hope he does really,
I hope he does great.
If he goes in there,
like runs top five.
Goes out there and wins it.
Could you imagine?
How old is he for real?
Like, I think 65,
or early 60s.
I can look it up.
Wow.
I kind of want to see him run like an actual,
like not a road course.
Like a old old.
Yeah.
Oh, well.
Yeah.
Should be cool to watch.
I don't.
I don't want to see him do that.
He doesn't need to be doing that.
It's way.
too different now than what it was.
Well, either way.
It should be fun to watch.
I wish I could go back and watch him in his prime at, like, North Wilkesboro or something like that.
Darlington's annual throwback race weekend is next for the Cup Series in two weeks.
What's a throwback race procedure old rule you'd like to see brought back to use once a season in this race?
So what type of, what rule or procedure would you like to see come back for that?
this. I want to see the flagman on the front stretch,
waving the flag. It's standing on the track.
Jumping up and down, the checker comes around.
We've got to stay in your lane rules. I mean,
you're fine. He should be fine.
You just move three lanes off the wall.
He should be at no harm whatsoever.
Like the picker, you should be out there jumping onto the racetrack off the wall.
Yeah, like old school stuff.
Let's race back to the line.
Hell with it. I mean, it's pretty wide at Darlington.
Like throw the yellow and let's just hold it.
It's all that.
In the track.
I'm not going to feel a thing.
on the spotter stand. I promised you that.
I didn't feel nothing in Pocono a couple weeks ago.
I like, I survived that one, no problem.
I still sore from that.
Yeah.
So, I mean, I was a little banged up, but I'm fine now.
But yeah, like, that was exciting back in the day.
I mean, it was definitely not safe.
I mean, obviously this hypotheticals for throwing safety out the window.
But I definitely, let's, let's, hell with it.
Let's race back to the line.
I'll go with, look, let's, let's throw out the OSS for one weekend.
run your body bring it do whatever you want run what you want run what you're brung run what you brung hope you
brung enough um yeah i mean how how mean that'd be yeah how about just tell you okay we're gonna put you
on the LSS but we're gonna give you this much more leeway we're gonna give you four inches over here
yeah like your window's way wider i'm talking like okay we're gonna give you three inches of the
quarter panel yeah at the roof just do what you want have at it yeah i just want to have at it yeah i just want to
see Elliot's bus driver try and win again.
Oh, maybe we could...
Have you ever met Will?
No.
Oh, my God.
I think you need to come on the show for the end of the year.
I don't know that you never need Will on this show.
I think it'd be great.
It would be...
What you need to do is have a special edition where it's Will, Brett, and Elliot.
Because, like, Elliot, I mean, I'm sorry, Brett is like the ultimate middle man between
Will wanting to always kill Elliot.
I mean, I'm sorry, Elliot always wanted to kill Will and it's just...
It's a constant shit show between the three of them, usually.
I think that's like a...
that's like a round table discussion with like beer and a fire.
Yeah.
We make it a special edition.
Yeah.
So that would be a lot.
You would almost have to like start by like not telling them what it was for.
But hey guys, let's get together and just start and then be like as the show goes on and they get more well on their way.
Start bringing more cameras in, more microphone.
Yeah.
If you see and like you'd have to like if you had this deal and you see Will come in with like a big gulp and yeah, you know it's going to be a good show.
I'll leave it at that.
We need to make this happen.
We'll chat.
We'll do it.
Off the wall topic, a restaurant in Maine is receiving worldwide backlash over changing its french fries from crinkle cut to straight cut.
What's a signature dish from a favorite restaurant of yours that you would hate to see changed?
I just was listening to the radio and heard this.
They were getting like death threats for changing these french fries.
What restaurant is this?
Some like random restaurant.
It's not like a chain, I assume.
No, no.
It's just like a old school little place.
I've heard about this.
I got a buddy Scott Tapley who lives up there.
I'm not to check with him and see what the deal is with this.
But as far as my restaurant, I was heartbroken.
We're going to New York this week.
And one of our chains actually went out of business.
And they were like the spicy chicken.
And I was going to die.
Me and Tommy Baldwin kind of grew up there.
And I was like heartbroken to see this.
And luckily, like a couple weeks ago, they opened back up.
So I'm okay.
I'm safe.
Yeah.
I've made a call.
So we're back this week.
But yeah, no spurs in certain ditches getting changed, don't think.
I'm just curious is why somebody across the world.
or across the US who's never even ate their cares.
Yeah.
Why do you care what French fire this guy is selling?
I mean, McDonald's chains your chicken nuggets and I don't feel like anybody's complaining about that.
I'll tell you what's going to make me mad is when I walk out of the epicenter somewhere and there ain't no hot dog staying, I'm going to be mad.
You can't find out if that pizza place decides to close early.
If you're a pizza place and you're next to a good bar, if you close, I am going to be mad.
So why do people care?
I don't, I mean, I have to find out more of the story.
If it's people in the area that live right there like you did, you grew up around it, you went there hundreds of times, you'd be mad.
Yeah.
But really, how mad would you be if they change their French fries?
I mean, if you go there twice a year now.
Yeah, I probably wouldn't even notice, to be honest with you.
I mean, unless these are like the greatest crinkle cut French fries in the history of CrinkleCard French fries.
How much, tell me different ways can you cook a French fry?
I mean, I don't even like crinkle cut French fries.
I don't care either way.
They're fries.
They're the same thing.
It's just the way they're cut.
Steak fries, crankle cut, straight fries, curly fries.
Tater tots are my thing.
Tater tots are just.
What if you just, yeah, replace them with curly fries?
I love curly fries.
I love all.
Curly fries are hard.
How do you not like curly fries?
I don't know.
You know what's awesome is when you see that kind of the longer one, but it's really
tightly wound.
You're like, oh, this one's perfect.
It's like a slinky.
You know which one suck though?
The really long ones that aren't curled up real tight.
You're like, oh.
There is like, soggy.
Yeah.
It's like, yeah.
I'm hungry.
I mean, honestly.
Honestly, if In-N-Out decides to change their special sauce,
then that I could see death threats happening.
But a restaurant in Maine over a fries design?
So this kind of happened here.
What's the place right by where Brooklyn Boys pizza is?
It's like the place where it's all natural stuff.
You know what I'm talking about?
Nope.
All natural.
You're going to get like Meisenberger and stuff.
I don't need a lot of natural.
It's right back to the Japanese restaurant.
That really narrows it down.
Blue.
I've seen it.
But I can't think it.
Is it called Bluesome?
I think it is Blue Something.
Oh, oh, Blue Star Grill.
Blue Star Grill.
They changed their balsamic dressing.
Oh, my God.
And it got, I went in there because I used to go and I would get balsamic and I get
extra cucumbers or whatever.
And I just dipped the cucumbers.
I bet you did.
Yeah.
Oh, they were sliced.
Yeah, they were sliced.
Okay.
They were sliced.
And then I got it.
I'm like, oh, this is terrible.
I mean, you all changed dressing?
Yeah, but we're changing it back.
Nobody likes it.
I'm like, sweet.
I've been back since.
Well.
And that was probably like a year ago.
I bet you this place is now currently changing their fries back.
I'm sure.
I hope they get curly fries.
If there's backlash on curly fries, you got to have a problem.
What's your favorite French fry?
Do Tater Tats count?
No, that's not a French fry.
It's like the same thing.
It's Fred.
Tater tots are, uh, I like French fries.
I mean, I like curly fries the best.
Sorry.
Yeah, all right.
Just checking.
What's your favorite?
All of them.
Every one of them.
Everything.
Especially like, I've been trying to lose weight.
I've been like no carbonate for like three months now and I want to eat everything.
So I brought this topic up.
So weird.
Like you crave the most random like you crave the most random.
Like are you pregnant?
Yeah, I am.
You didn't notice?
I've been trying to lose my kid for months now.
But like I don't ever eat sweets like ever really.
I'll eat some cookies here and there but like even like never.
And I was craving donuts.
I told Megan like two weeks lead up to my birthday a couple weeks ago.
I'm like I want donuts.
I eat like six of them on.
on.
Like, the day, my, the day, like that morning, I was like, oh, just give me donuts.
And she's like, you're the, I've been with my wife for 10 years, married for two.
But like, 10 years have been together.
She's like, I've never seen you eat a donut in your life.
I'm like, I don't know what it is, a stupid diet.
But yeah, give me every curly fry, onion ring.
Weird.
Anything.
So when the hot and fresh signs on, you don't stop?
No, never, never.
Never.
Yeah, that's never really done it for me either.
Yeah, I'm not, like, this is not going to be good with T.
in the show, but I'm a cream filled donut guy.
If I could just read T.J.
Yeah.
Skip, neck thing, let's go.
Ding.
Ding.
Do you know what came to my mind?
Honestly?
What do you call that movie?
Yes.
The dog?
What movie?
Was that Van Wilder?
Oh, my God.
Was that Van Wilder?
I guarantee he's never saw it, but it's bad.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Is it with Ryan Reynolds?
It's two sororities, right?
Yeah, or, yes, basically.
Frats, frats.
Yeah, so they are, like, in competition with each other.
And one of them, they did something to the one group.
I don't remember what they did to them,
but they, like, basically got the dorky guys,
and the dorky guys to get them back.
They went and had some donuts, and...
I got to quit.
We'll finish it after the show.
All right.
First asked CBC.
question. Mike Barbone
191 asks, is it
more difficult to spot at Bristol
or a plate track?
Ah, man.
I think
to me, Bristol's more difficult
because of
like the wreck
to start the race. You don't, that stuff
you don't expect it to happen where it does, but
Bristol stuff happens in front of you
and it's so, you're there, so fast.
Talladega is
Daytona, Hala Ladega, are challenging in a different
way. But you can see the stuff forming to get to where it happens. Like this thing, when Kyle Bristol is like, okay, they hit, boom, big rack. Everybody's. But you saw how many cars piled in. It's almost impossible to, to, you have to be looking at it when it happens to see it. The big one at Talladegan Hill is kind of like, okay, here it is. It doesn't really help if you see it early enough or not. You're either going to be in it or you're not. Bristol, you literally can be looking over here. As soon as you look away or somebody spins out, then you're there another five seconds. And it's like, whoa.
I can barely get slowed down.
So to me, Bristol's pretty tough.
Yeah, I agree.
So fast.
Yeah, like stuff happens, especially Bristol.
Bristol's way harder than, say, Martinsville.
Like, just the speed that stuff happens at, like, I was a split second late on Saturday night.
And, I mean, I called it in time and we had gotten checked up.
But then, if you were a split second late, what was look?
The guy that had the most damage was last.
The 99, I don't know exactly where he was going.
He just didn't even stop.
He just, I have to hell would it.
Maybe he hit the first guy.
He's like, you know what?
I don't want to run here.
We're limping around here the rest of the night.
I'm just going to finish this thing off.
I text the guy spotting it.
Who was spotting for, Joe?
Joe White.
And this is what I said in first.
And then he, he, uh, did he get mad?
Do you get defensive?
He, then I said, uh, I'm really proud of you.
Uh, but I mean, he wasn't even the only one.
There was a handful of them that just piled in from the back.
But yeah.
What else you got?
Then he goes.
Man, are you guys going to be talking about me on your podcast?
And I said, and then I was like, maybe.
Well, you can send him back one now that just says definitely.
I mean, it's not his fault.
I don't think it's his fault.
I would assume that he was telling him to check up.
I don't hope.
It's hard to get that out of Bristol, man.
Especially like we talk about this, or you guys have talked about this for sure,
and we talk about it on the roof, it's hard to spot in the back.
Like, a lot of shit happens in front of you.
you like when you get strung out you're watching you're looking for leaders coming all the time
where you if you're running the top five you're just really kind of worried about you the guys that
are around you're racing somebody too like if you're racing this guy you're clearing your car
off the corner and stuff and there's a wreck in the front like it's hard to see that there's a time
like i think it was last year two years ago in the exfinity car i about but got above it killed
like we it was Vegas somebody spun off it like somebody got up in the fence and was like
spinning down the hill and we all went to one three wide and i'm spotting my ass off three wide
and i look up i'm like oh god damn
And he
C0ed the guy
He didn't blame me
But it was probably my fault
But yeah
Like I would say
Definitely harder at
Like TJ said
You're not gonna miss a wreck
At Talladega or Daytona
Like it is what it is
It happens so fast
You're going so fast
You're probably gonna either be in it or not
It's pretty much just luck
But these deals here
You know
You got
Stuff happen so fast
And it's a chain reaction deal
Most of the time
There's not a lot of room
Most time at Bristol
If you start spinning
You're gonna hit
You got
Was it you that basically
that basically got plowed into the inside wall.
Yeah, by Swarres.
Come off the top ropes.
So what happened was we checked up
and we got like, AJ checked up really hard
in front of us.
So we kind of ass packed him, got checked up.
Somebody hit us from behind.
So then Bubba's like,
well, I'm getting run over from behind.
So he went to the left.
I was telling him go low because it was the only thing.
Well, they were spinning if they were wrecking in the middle of the track.
We went left and then
Swares.
We were passing Suarez and he went left too.
Yeah.
So he was, there wasn't the thing he did wrong.
He was just trying to get around the rack also.
wrecking in front of him.
So he went for the path that he saw a clear-around.
And then you were there.
We were there, unfortunately.
Same with JJ.
I feel like there was just nowhere.
Oh, yeah, he did.
Oh, there's nothing.
He could have done.
No, he was done.
Did you tell the story last week or a couple weeks ago about your spotting for
Bubba whenever you were leading the race?
Like, where was it, Greenville Pickens or whatever?
Screaming.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, we did.
I think you actually, there's like some, we, you guys tweeted something about that.
I see that video.
Yeah, that's funny.
Dubs 1023 asks.
Dubs.
I like it.
If Darlington's throwback race
included a group of throwback spotters,
who are some former spotters
that you'd like to see come back?
I don't, I mean, none of them.
None of them.
I mean, I don't even know that many of them.
Some of them, like, there's really not any
that have gone anywhere, really, Bob.
They have really left.
You know who we need to come back for Brett?
Chicago.
He misses Chicago, I bet.
I think that might have been the last physical altercation on the roof.
That might have been.
Now you have to share.
What happened?
Well, that's the guy that Brett may have put his hands on one time.
I think he tried to break his chestplate, to be honest with you.
Yeah.
I forget what happened, but the guy made a mistake.
And the guy wasn't very good.
And that's one thing that makes spotters mad.
We always talk about it.
You're not really mad at the guy.
you know, of course, if a guy sping you out, you might be mad at his driver or whatever.
But most time, it's guys not making very good decisions around you or whatever,
and you're mad at because you don't feel like they're getting enough info,
the right info.
This would be the case.
That would be the case with this.
I think it was a deal where, I think he, like two weeks in a row,
he piled into a wreck late and wrecked Hermie.
And I think the second time, Brett, he got upset.
He got mad.
Yeah.
Pagelin showed up.
Yep.
Yeah, Paysn't come out of it.
Yeah, so that's the only person I can think of that's not even around anymore.
Honestly, there's no real, there's not really any throwback spotters, in my opinion,
and things are so much different now than what they were.
I'm afraid if you brought somebody back that spotted 10 years ago, it's not going to be the same.
It's not just clear.
Yeah.
All clear.
Inman tells me all the time how he used to be a great spotter.
Maybe I'll let him do a race for, maybe he can do Darlington for Bubba.
I guarantee nobody will go after him.
him. No. You don't want to get anywhere
with an arm's like to him. The Hall of Famer.
Yeah. That guy is, I quit going near
him because my arms got sore. He's the only
guy that'll shake your hand and
he'll put his, if his thumb
touches your arm, like he'll shake your hand and like
touch and he'll, you're, oh, it hurts so bad.
He poked me in the chest like two weeks ago. I felt it for like
three days. Like, and he just walks up
and just two finger pokes you in the chest and it's like
the next day morning, you're like, oh yeah. What is that?
Is that? Jesus Christ.
But, yeah.
That's about it on spotters.
Well, this next one will get you.
Spother Brett has to submit a question.
Which eight spotters would make the best reality TV show and why?
Big fan.
Thank you for answering.
Hashtag Spoters Lives Matter.
Well, you'd have to bring the drunks.
Yeah.
So you, Brett.
Starts with them.
I don't know who that is.
Brett, Freddie.
I mean, you have to start with.
people that like to go out.
Yeah.
So I'd say the ones that I don't want to run.
You're good.
I don't see anybody.
Can they hear us out there?
Yeah, but I mean, it's going to be replayed.
Oh, you'd be fine.
I mean, you have to have, like, the group that likes to, they like to go out.
I mean, they're not wrong with it, but the group that likes to go out.
Who's that?
Freddy might be in that group.
Freddy and his friends.
Freddy and all his friends like to go out.
Occasionally.
Occasionally.
I'll go, obviously, I think me and Brett, Roman, we enjoy ourselves a little bit.
I don't know.
You'd have to, we'd have to have somebody come with.
Roman spots for Trevor.
Okay.
He likes to fall asleep at bars.
Oh, it is.
A lot.
Did you eat with us?
I wasn't there that night, no.
You know what I'm talking about?
Yes.
Sonoma.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I wasn't there.
He had left me earlier.
He was with me.
He was with me and Brin.
And then he went out after that.
So yes, we contributed to this, but we did not come back.
He went to sleep.
He went to sleep.
tired.
Um, besides for that, well, Dougie, he got to bring Dougie out.
That's probably the fourth one of the fifth one of the group.
He visits the shoe shows probably more than the rest of us.
He spots for?
He spots for Casey now.
We'll bring Jason Jared on the show.
That'll be exciting just for the fact that he's OCD and we could torture him.
Yeah.
He'll be up early every morning.
So funny story about them.
I ride with that team a little bit here and there.
And they'll text me at, they'll say the night before you.
All right, what time we're going to roll?
It'll be 8 o'clock in the morning.
All right, we're going to roll at eight.
So to me, that's like five to eight.
Yeah, seven and five.
Yeah.
They're in the van.
Jason's at 7.40.
Jason's like, oh, you know, I'm no rush.
I'm in the van.
Well, are we leaving at 7.15?
Are we leaving 8 o'clock?
Like, what are we doing?
That's, uh, and he's always got his phone plugged in.
Like, he's got to charge it up.
Um, if it gets to like 97%, he starts panicking a little bit.
So he's got to be on there, I think.
He reminds me a little bit of, like, every cord in my bag.
Like, if you were looking in my bag, I'm talking like my regular, like, chargers and stuff.
I got this thing in there where it's like rubber band stuff all over it.
You can pop.
Like, my cores are all like iPhone, you know, mini USB.
They're all unorganized.
It's pretty bad.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's a special.
He's very.
He is.
He's the guy that has his headset on 20 minutes for practice.
Like, what are you doing?
Just checking.
Who else we go?
Oh, Joel.
We've got to have Joel.
Oh, definitely have Joel.
He's the most entertaining spotter.
Like, and he would hate it.
every minute of it, which would make it that much better.
He spots for Amarola.
He's, uh, he, he is the most entertaining person to listen to because he hates everything
and everybody.
He was the one we talked about a couple weeks ago that could win the lottery and be mad about
it.
That's true.
Who else he got?
T.J.
Monez.
Uh, well T.
That's the thing.
T.J. be home babysitting the whole time.
I'd be home babysitting.
Um, but as far as like, smart asses, I'd probably be there for that.
part.
Yeah, probably.
I'm probably the only...
He'd be the one that makes fun of me
and Brent when we got home hung over.
No, I'd be the one videoing it.
I'd be the one videoing it, posting it.
Yeah.
It would be...
I can't think anything else.
If you took eight, those eight,
if you took a group of spiders like that,
and had to go for like five, six days somewhere,
somebody would be an argument at some point.
Oh.
Yeah, well, that's the thing.
Like, you'd have to have guys that don't like each other
also.
You know what I mean?
Just like that's why you have to have Joel in there because
somebody he would be mad at at some point.
Everybody at one point.
Everybody at all points he'd be mad at.
He'd be mad at, yeah, at some point it's going to be mad at you.
Why, you put your left shoe on first?
No, no, that's not how you do it.
Take it back off.
We have to bring Herm, too, because Herm could get us,
he can make us an itinerary of everything we've got to do for the day, every day.
Oh, yeah.
All right, Freddie.
Here's your highlighted drinking schedule.
Okay, guys.
Yeah, he would be, okay, guys, we got to do this, this time.
everything's laid out here.
Funny story about Herm is I stand there
and sit in Bristol and all weekend
there was these praying manuses up there and they were everywhere.
They were everywhere.
One literally sat on this post
where I put my hand like all weekend
so I could put my hand there.
They bite. They bite.
I don't know if anybody knows.
They bite.
Probably only when you're with them.
Sorry, this. Marker.
So it was there all weekend
and it's fine with it okay.
I know you're here. You know I'm here.
Look, you stay there. I'll stay over here.
And for some
reason with like 50 to go in the race this thing's like I'm mad like went Joel on somebody
he crawled down there I look over there and I'm like he's gone I'm like oh sweet okay he's gone
I'm like he flew off chasing something so hot you know praying manis went after or something
I put my hand on my head set to talk on channel two and I grabbed on to him and he bit me in the
finger really bit me in the damn finger and I
I flew him. I'm like, God, and I saw him fly. And he came back, landed on the post.
I'm like, no, this one of us has got to go now. And we're racing. I'm like, I'm fighting
this praying man is here. It just bit me in the damn finger. Joey's like, what's going on over there?
So then, like, I back up. I step back about a couple feet off the rail. Did you, you were gone?
I was not there. So the thing starts crawling along the fence in front of me. And I look over and it's going right at.
Herm's got his hand on the railing.
It's good.
I'm like, holy shit, it's going to bite him.
Sorry, cut that.
The essay.
We're not allowed to say that, are we?
I can beat it.
All right, whatever.
So I'm like,
Herm, spot, like, you think he's raised for the lead, dude.
I think he was a couple laps down.
He's like, I'm like, I don't like you.
And he's like, look, he's like, look.
And he's like, oh, whoa, he pulls his hand up.
And it climbs up on his fan vision.
He starts looking at him.
And then the costume comes out, and I'm just going to leave it there.
Dude, we were just to go green.
And that thing, it got so mad at him, it took off and went right for his face.
I look over there.
I started laughing.
I had to actually, I was clearing Joey while I was looking at her and fighting this thing.
They deck me.
It was so funny, man.
I'm trying to spot.
I'm literally laughing when I'm clearing Joey.
And I look over there, Arm, I'd never seen Irm move that fast.
He was doing karate moves.
And Herm's not the fast mover, man.
No.
Unless he's walking.
He haulsed ass when he walks.
He looks me as he goes,
that digger tag me!
I'm like, oh my God.
I'm like, I watched it.
I told you it was coming after you.
There needs to be a GoPro.
No, there doesn't.
No, there doesn't.
No, there doesn't.
Spider cam.
Yeah.
Yeah, no.
No, no.
Sometimes there is.
There's that little cameras they put out over.
You said every week
when they were cell phone issues, but now there really never was a cell phone issue, but they thought
there was anything. Anything y'all want to rant about? I'll tell you, there's two things that I've seen
this week that drove me insane. The amount of laps we ran under caution, like especially for the stages,
like the truck race, I don't know, I don't know what you did on Saturday now. You're talking about
a senior race or truck race or a truck race? Truck race, I noticed the first stage was 12 or 11 caution
lap, 12 caution laps, or 10 caution left's first one. The second one was 12. And then,
the same guy won both.
Like, why do we need to talk to him for that long?
Where it's 12 laps, and that race is only, what, 200 laps?
So that's 25 laps wasted.
We never, they never, we never, we never talked to anybody.
I'm just, I mean, we want to stage.
Oh, you didn't talk to nobody?
Yeah, but I will say that the laps do, I feel like they're kind of long in general.
From when they first started the stage, I thought they were ridiculous.
Then they got pretty good about it, like, okay, right after the, right after it,
you talked to the guy for a lap two, we ran like two, three laps and we pitted and we went.
I'd say Bristol, though, normally is about double.
We normally do just because of the shortest of it.
But yeah, it does.
The second stage is always shorter because of the cautions.
I've noticed that it's always like a Pocono.
You're like, oh, we're going to run 12 laps.
Yeah, that truck race.
We're going to run 12 laps and throw the yellow again.
Okay, let's go.
You're going to be war out.
The other thing was the damn shisho that happens at the end of Pitt Road.
Trying to get to, you know, obviously,
Everybody tried to do the best they can.
So they just got to find a way whether it's the damn choose rule, whether it's the world outlaw rule, like to make it so that you're not wrecking each other.
There is no way.
There is no way.
The world of all the law.
Like the world outlaw runs way easier than the cone rule.
So the world about law rule is.
So the world outlaw rule is.
Dude, they ain't going to figure that out.
The world outlaw rule is basically just whatever, whatever the lane to leader picks, all the odd numbers line up in that lane.
So basically if you're-
We can't even line up now from 15th on back.
Well, they got to be smarter than that.
Well, the choose rule would be way bigger.
To me, I think you put the choose roll up.
And if, when you get to that cone, whatever side you cross that cone on is the side you start on, and that's it.
Yeah.
Like, you pick that lane.
You might have the first six guys take the outside lane.
But I'm going to tell you, if I'm seventh or whatever in the top five pick the outside, which could really happen.
I'm going to go to the bottom.
Yeah.
That's just more work for us, though.
I don't want to work any harder.
Not really.
I mean, we got to count shit.
Like a little.
Maybe not where you do.
where I run.
That'd be a lot of work.
How?
Because I got a count like inside, outside, there's five on the top.
Like, it's harder now than it is to do that.
When you get to the cone, when the guy in front of you goes left or right and you go the other way,
that's just pull up.
Yeah, but I've got to know how many guys are taking the top and how many have taken the bottom.
If they're, like you said, if there's 15 guys in the top and five on the bottom,
I have to know the numbers there.
So you got to, you'll have to be up there counting every guy that goes high, every guy that goes low.
I mean, if you don't gain, if you're not moving up three to four spots, you're not.
You're just going to tell you.
But you still got an account to know that.
Or just watch.
That'd be pretty easy.
I don't know.
I think the world outlaw rules better.
I think they would mix it up.
I mean, for sure, I just don't want to work that all.
What do you think?
Yes.
You know the outlaw role?
Not really.
If you're the leader and you choose the outside,
every odd number guy is on the outside.
That seemed pretty simple, like straightforward.
Yeah.
It is.
It is way to line up.
Some of them races are terrible.
It is bad.
And what's really bad is what really screws it up is somebody that
stays out, then pulls off late.
Yes.
Like you did at Michigan?
I didn't pull off late.
Oh, you did the first Michigan.
No, yeah, well, that was when they were, we were fighting about a penalty.
Yeah, but you had the penalty for like three laps.
Yeah, but that was their fault.
They screwed up.
I'm just saying.
That was their fault.
You pulled off late, didn't you?
I pulled off into three.
He pulled off into turn three, coming to the green, and then got the guys right behind
him wanted the outside because that's where he should have been.
Because he had the penalty, like, two last of four of that.
And then he just lined up anyway, so everybody behind him kind of got screwed on that.
Hey, trying to do the best I can.
I mean, but that makes like, if you're 8th and the guy, if you're 7th and the guy in front of you say he's 6th, or you were actually second, weren't you?
I was leading.
Okay, you were lead.
He's in the outside lane coming to the green and turn 3.
The guy in the inside is really supposed to be the leader.
Would you not want that spot if that's a preferred lane?
So the guy's not like, oh, I'm the leader.
I'm going to be a leader because I don't have a penalty, but now I got to start on the bottom.
So everybody behind him, when he pulled off, it was a like free-for-all switching lanes.
I was like, do you switch?
I'm not switching you.
We came to the green three wide.
Oh, yeah.
I was Newman and 88 came to the green three wide.
With Newman all the way below everybody, not even like, I don't know where you're going, but whatever.
But anyway, you have any rants, Casey?
I think you should rant for once.
Let's do the, just rant something.
I rant about Chad's midget being our getaway car.
I don't really know.
What else do you want to rant about?
What does Chad do that really gets on your nerves?
Picks dogs names?
Yeah.
Yeah, like human names for pets?
Honestly, he's on my good, like, we're on good turns right now.
That's good news because you're getting married, so.
We went to Zootastic this weekend, so I was really excited.
That's my favorite place in the world.
What did he do to get on your bad list before?
This week, like, so we're going to Charleston this weekend.
This is the first vacation that we've ever taken just the two of us, ever.
You're not taking, you know, like a human dog?
We're leaving Susan at home.
Susan's not invited.
Susan's not invited.
I'll think of something else.
There are definitely things that I can probably think of.
What are you doing this week?
You're going anywhere?
I hope not.
He's babysitting, remember?
Oh, that's right, you're babysitting.
It's going to be good to be at home.
We left, we came back from Michigan, and I left Monday the next day to go to Texas,
the test for two days, came home, landed Wednesday night, got right in the car,
drove to Bristol.
So I was gone from Monday until Saturday night, which was a long time.
I come back, my youngest daughter, her hair's longer.
I'm like, man, you get hair cut now like I do.
But yeah, I come back.
She's bigger walking 100 miles an hour.
Now when I left, when I left for Michigan, she just literally walked out the door an hour later.
She's walking down the hallways.
Before that, she's only taking like four or five steps at a time.
I get a video, look, she's walking now.
I'm like, are you serious?
That sucks.
You'll see when you have.
the first of your many.
I can't wait.
All right.
Well, DBC picks.
I know it's an off weekend,
but I guess we have Exfinity.
This is for Darlington.
We won't do a show next week because it's an off week.
Freddie, I know Brett told you his pick,
and you wouldn't tell us before.
So now what is it?
The big reveal is Brett is taking Ryan Newman.
I think.
Let me see my phone with Jason.
Let me just double check that.
Nope, not allowed.
Check it.
If that don't.
work. I'm going to pick for him.
And Brett picks.
You're catching up.
You're only down two races now.
Oh, you can tie him up.
I cannot believe Brett just picked Timothy Peters to win the cup race.
Can you guys believe that?
What?
It is Newman.
Ryan Newman.
No, I think he's going to get finch him.
Yeah.
Where's his pick's at back here somewhere?
Joey Gase.
Oh, me and Brett, talk a little bit about Joey Gase because I think he's going to be in the news
coming up here soon.
And we were comparing him to the guy.
You ever seen the movie Road Trip?
Yeah.
You know DJ Smales, a real skinny.
Oh, yeah.
He looks a little like Joey Gays.
Now you have to tell me why is the only going to be?
Are you talking about the...
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Have you seen what Joey Gase looks like?
Yeah, I know what Joey Gase looks like.
I think he reminds me him a little bit.
I think he's, he might be getting it right here.
They're about pulling him off Ross's neck.
Johnny Davis had a hold of guy that day.
Do you see that?
Johnny Davis had that guy by the throat.
I was pretty proud.
I worked for Johnny.
pretty awesome.
Well, I'm running out of picks, so.
Yeah, two races before resets.
I got nobody left.
You should just pick.
No, you should not pick for me.
Who's going to, I'm going to go with Trevor Bain coming off a solid row.
Is he even in this race?
Yeah, it's either him or Kenseth.
I'm not sure.
Well, that's good, Jason.
It is definitely either him or Kenseth.
I'll take the six.
The sixth car.
You're done.
I have both of them available, so I will take the six car.
I mean, I don't have many other choices.
What's your, oh, the blue is what you need?
Where do we go after, where do we go after, um, Rich, or, um, Darlington?
You don't want to pick her in-Napolis.
Yeah, you go to Indy.
Oh, shoot.
Wow, I'm really going to, there's no way I win Indy.
But then resets in the playoffs so you can start.
Yeah, that's the last one, yeah, right?
Like I said, next year we need to cancel out the one racers.
Even though there's only a few of them, or a couple of them or whatever.
Like Danica or whatever.
Yeah.
So we had a deal yesterday was 14 years, I think, right?
14 years since Tommy Baldwin, senior, lost his life.
So a lot of us got together at 1 o'clock yesterday.
Dillner was a little late on that party.
He probably had babysitting to do.
But we all got together, FaceTime each other's group probably like 30 of us,
Tommy Baldwin, Jr., Steve Halpe, and a bunch of guys from up north,
and had a white rush, which was Tommy's favorite drink, all toasted together.
So that was pretty cool yesterday.
I seen a picture of Dillner this morning.
doing one so that's pretty good. White Russians.
They're disgusting.
I mean, I guess it's like chocolate milk, but
not when it's 95 degrees outside.
So they're coming out with that group
FaceTime. That'll be good
for that, won't it?
They're coming out with like group
FaceTime, I think, so you guys be able to...
FaceTime each other? Yeah, where it's a whole bunch can be
face-timing at one time. We don't yet have to
do the show anymore here. We could just face-time.
Perfect.
Done.
FaceTime.
Yeah.
Yeah. Funny.
Well, if you'd stop putting Dell Jr. slot in our spot, we wouldn't have an issue.
Every week.
Yeah.
Nice job.
I will say this.
They actually scheduled this week, and Del Dream was leaving as we were coming in.
So they did a good job this week.
But finally.
Is that a compliment?
It must have been, you should record this.
I'm saying.
That's not true because he did compliment your show sheet.
He said that was way nice than anything Jason does.
Yeah, we did say that we need a better design for our show sheet.
Yeah, man.
I feel like this.
Maybe the logo might help.
This is dog cream-filled donuts.
Don't miss that part of the show.
Oh, goodness.
Yeah.
So.
All right.
Well, on that note, thank you guys.
Thank you, one name.
Off next week, too, though.
So.
Oh, yes.
No show next week.
Let's see if Bill Elliott or a Connolly do.
That's a good one this week.
I think he's ever played his own games?
Yeah, Elliot was here.
I think he played his own game.
No, I doubt it.
There's no chance.
You think he did?
That he played his own game.
That game was awesome.
NASCAR experience.
That's why I was talking challenge.
Oh, she wasn't born then either.
Yeah.
Remember, I'm old.
Oh, that's right.
You were born with a Atari.
You were playing Atari, I forgot.
That's how you turn to the car.
It left, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh.
You had to tap it, that's right.
Oh, like you know.
Well, you have any idea.
Have you ever held a Nintendo remote ever?
Yes.
No, not like a new one that you just bought with a USB port.
I'm talking like the little yellow, red.
Did it have a wire attached to it?
I don't remember.
Yes, actually.
If it didn't have a wire attached to it, it wasn't real.
No, if it didn't have wires attached to it.
That was like the red, blue, or no, it wasn't red, it was yellow.
Yeah.
Are you talking about the back?
Like, you're talking about that.
Yeah.
I'm talking about the controller.
There was no.
There was no HDMI, HD screens.
I don't remember.
If we saw one of them ducks from duck hunt right now, it probably looks terrible.
I used to play that game with the gun.
Yeah, I do remember that.
Was it a shotgun?
Did you have a shotgun on yours?
Because she just, like, no.
I don't know what you're talking about.
I had the shotgun one.
It was like a super long, like, like, a double-07 pistol.
Okay, well, maybe I.
I played the wrong game.
Yeah.
And it was courted.
Whatever.
Yeah.
One of her.
All right.
So I guess that'll wrap up the show.
Yeah.
I had a good time filling in.
Thanks, Freddie.
Clowns the last couple weeks.
Hopefully.
Freddy's going to be the ultimate door bumper clear sub.
So I don't know.
Elliot did pretty good too.
So he'll be competing.
Yeah.
I'm not from Virginia, though, so you can understand what I say.
Yeah.
Honestly, Elliot probably can't talk about a lot of his stories back in the day.
There's no chance.
Like, I'm surprised we didn't get, I was disappointed to see
we didn't get any questions about Brett, so maybe the next time I'm on.
I mean, they can submit questions and still ask about Brett.
Yeah, we can tweet them out.
Yeah.
We'll still handle it.
We'll wait.
All right.
Well, thanks everybody for joining.
Yeah, have a great week.
We'll talk to you in a couple weeks.
