Starting point is 00:01:10 Ready. Go to what you got here. New leader. Watch out for this guy. White flag. Record. Clear. Bring home.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Three light. Coming to the line. Door. Bumper. Clear. Whoa. Hey. Hey, it's TJ Majors.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Spotter of the 22 cup car. That was a great intro. Is that better on playing engineer over here? The two truck. A little bit more. A little bit more. Okay, that's good. Struggling a little bit this morning.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Yeah. We don't have Brett today. Where is Brett? Austin, Austin, Texas. So we can talk a lot of crap of that. For, I don't know, potential sponsor stuff maybe, I think. I don't really know exactly what.
Starting point is 00:01:51 I never know what he's doing. Yeah. I never know what he's doing back there. So Freddie's here today and our lovely co-host who's going to miss the after homestead show. That's not my fault. Kind of is your fault. Maybe we should just stay in Florida and all record a show in Miami. Yes, film it on the beach.
Starting point is 00:02:09 Okay. My wife will. love that idea. Let's do it. Bring her. Never mind. Don't bring Sam to the Beach, Freddie. You talk about a lovely co-host that brought herself Dunkin' Donuts as morning. I know. Who you're referring to? I just brought myself coffee. I brought myself coffee. Okay, I started out this year bringing Duncan every single week. Twice. Every week, ask him. Because he was never there. It was like twice. No, I was here every time in the beginning. The only time I've missed show is when Donor here.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Del Jr. do what he wants. Oh, we were in a court at night. Okay, you got it, boss. Okay. T.J., how many times have you brought food in this year? I used to brag. This year? This year? Probably none. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Yeah. How many, where's my Chick-fil-A gift card, too? You weren't here. Bummer. Oh, why did I miss out? Was I testing? Was the show at a different time? Was the show at a different time? I don't know. I don't remember. I think you might have been tested that day.
Starting point is 00:03:05 Where's the baby? I can't, I can't wait for you to have a kid. I feel like it'll be a few years for. There we go. Oh, that's a young one. We need older than that now. That's a young one. The old baby cry.
Starting point is 00:03:20 Whatever. Maybe next week I'll bring Duncan. Maybe. Are you going to bring a sponge? Are you going to eat donuts with us? Wedding diet. Yeah. So do you go through the drive-through or do you go in?
Starting point is 00:03:31 No, drive-through. It's even worse. You easily could have brought something for the rest of us. So I got great advice when I was getting ready to get married from my Mike Herman, a buddy of ours, and I was on a diet. I was running. I was trying to lose weight. And he's like, you're doing this all wrong, man.
Starting point is 00:03:48 He's like, do not get skinny for your wedding because you're going to get fat again. And then you're going to look back at your pictures and go, God, I used to be skinny. He said, if anything, eat like an idiot. Get as fat as you can for your wedding pictures. And then you'll be happy the rest of your life because you lose a little bit of weight. So that I can play every morning. Oh, he's never been married, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:13 That's probably why. Earl Barbin has the best line when it comes to us getting married. He spots for Jimmy Johnson. You know Earl. He's great. Oh, yeah. So I had just gotten engaged, and Herm has been dating his girlfriend, Kelly, for a long time now. I don't know exactly.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Probably 10 years or more. So at least that. Yeah. So Earl says to me, he says, does Herm have a full-length body? mirror in his house and I said I don't know why he says well that's how I decided I got to get married he said I got out of the shower
Starting point is 00:04:48 one day and I walked in front of the mirror and I kind of bounced up and down a little bit and said I better get married I'm not I'm gonna lock this one down so we're just waiting on her to get a mirror and and like Earl
Starting point is 00:05:03 Earl's wife is super nice so I don't know I don't know how he must have Yeah, what his line was. What his pickup line was? It was probably just, hey, hey, hey. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah, all right. You want to go get a drink? Sure. All right, all right. Earl's got the best voice of anybody. Like, we made him, and we were at some cigar lounge in indie one year, and we made him read the description to all the cigars just because he's got, like, that movie trailer voice. He does have, like, a guy that he could do, like, documentaries.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's like it makes between, um, uh, who's the guy that does at Shawshank? Uh, Morgan Freeman. He's like, he's like Morgan Freeman and, uh, like a, like a country, like guy, like slow and it's just soothing. Amazing. It's very soothing. I know, now I know why Jimmy wins all the time. What used to do anyway?
Starting point is 00:06:02 Can we put like a microphone and record all of their conversations on the spotter? No, we cannot. Yeah. We actually had this. that a couple weeks ago. Were you part of that at all? Oh, no, I was up a little. I was down a little further, but there was a, apparently a radio deal out there.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Was it MRI or something? They put a microphone on the roof to get the sounds of the cars, whatever when they're going by. I don't, I don't know. And apparently there was some... They didn't tell anybody. And there's a group of people that stand on there. Did you stand on there? No.
Starting point is 00:06:34 That's where, like, Rick Corelli, Mike Herman, Tim Fidoa, A couple of others. Yeah, there's a couple of others down there. And the guy came up there hollering at him mad because I guess somebody was saying some... They were cursing. Yeah, they were saying some cuss words and the microphone was picking it up. So, needless to say that, the microphone got removed from the roof. Never again. Never again.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Yeah. So there was a Thursday for the truck practice in Texas, there was a camera up there. And it was like a really nice, not like a very nice, not like a. video camera, but like a really nice, like, take professional pictures, but it was on a time, every, it was taking a picture, like, every 10 seconds. Time lapse. Yeah, but it is, I was this close to draw on, like, a little paper dinosaur or whatever, just moving it.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Like, it was walking across the infield, but I didn't know if it was good. I should have done it. No, I should have done it. But, yeah. So, Texas was fun. Probably. Did you do the chalk race? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Who did you have in the charks? Tyler Young, Rick. Oh, yeah. He always runs good in the beginning. Yeah. He runs good. We just stayed out on old tires at one stage. I mean, tires really didn't make a difference,
Starting point is 00:07:48 but we had all the guys that were fast on tires right behind us, and we kind of got sucked through the middle. Who do you have, TJ? Sheldon Creed. He did awesome that first half of the race. He's the first stage. He's really, really fast. He's just the background.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I don't know a ton about him, but I know he's the archa champ. He's. X games. What? He was in the X-game, isn't he? Was he? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Was he? Was he like a rally radio? I've never heard that before. I couldn't swear any was. Or am I talking about somebody else? You probably talking about somebody else. Well, I'm going to look this up. He just quit the, he was the lead singer that group, the Creed.
Starting point is 00:08:25 What group was it? He was in a Rocky movies, wasn't he? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he beat Rocky that one time. Are you really looking at this up? Yeah. I mean, he probably was in like some kind of rally race, maybe. Off truck road racing.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah, off truck. He's from the same town as Jimmy Johnson was, and his family and Jimmy's family are really good friends. But the kids really fast. He's just learning the truck stuff little by little. He's got a lot of speed. He just needs to learn the air a little bit more. And he spun out a couple times. We already had damage, and we didn't have any quarter pan on the right side. So he was already, he drives in, at Martinsville, he was driving in so deep into the corner. and he's like, I'm so loose in. I'm like, I can't tell. I mean, you're not, I mean, you're three car lanes deeper than anyone else.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I'm so loose in, but that's good to have. I mean, when they can do that. You'd rather pull the reins back. It's easier to slow him down than it is to speed him up. So looking really forward to working with him some more. And the cup race was kind of uneventful. I mean, a little bit. Not me.
Starting point is 00:09:27 I had an eventful day. I didn't. I don't even, I think we've gone by you a couple times. Yeah, we were pretty good. we got caught on a caution, but we had a deal where Kyle, I'm sure I don't know if it was on TV, but Kyle got behind us because he had a penalty.
Starting point is 00:09:44 They showed it. And was like two back the whole time and couldn't get around us since Hirschman down. Steams coming out. We're racing for position. Yeah, wow. So I'm like, and Bubba said right before he got there, he's like, tell him I'm not rolling over.
Starting point is 00:09:57 You know, if he gets to my bumper and gets underneath me, I'll give it to him, but I'm not moving over so he can get the spot, you know? So Harshman come down and said something. and but so then Kyle after about four or five laps was getting aggravated well then Kyle got tight behind us hit the fence off of four well then he must have pulled the pin on the grenade he tried to wreck us for about 10 laps I was laughing my ass off because he'd drive down he'd be like five back he'd drive down in a one so hard to get you a bumper us be up into
Starting point is 00:10:22 gray we'd drive away a couple more laps later he'd catch us again drive in I just kept saying oh swing and a miss so you're going to be radioactive this week I'm sure I'll be on there I mean, I understand the frustration, but guys are racing. Yeah. Like, guys are racing for something still. Everyone's running their own race. Yeah, and especially us. We haven't had a good race in a long time.
Starting point is 00:10:43 And I think we were running like 14th or 15th, something like that at the time. But something goes, I mean, you hang around there a little bit. Yeah. You have a good pit stop. You get another good restart. Yeah, exactly. You know? So.
Starting point is 00:10:54 So, I mean, I, you know, is what it is. And then we got caught up with Boucher late in a race and got an offense. Jeez, all that good run? All that good run to nothing, 25th. Didn't Clint, like, get over the radio and be like, this is a really boring race? I feel like a lot of people felt that way. Yeah, it's because he wasn't in the top five anymore. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I guess that might do it. He wasn't saying that in the spring race when he was running up there. It was a great race at that point. That, to, you know, his defense there, he had a little, he had issues early, and that's a long race. So to be that, he was behind a couple laps pretty early, I think. And actually, he got a, he had a. He pitted. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And then he got a penalty on the pit stop. And it was right at the end of the stage. Yeah. And they tried to run it until the end of the stage because if you get to the stage and you get the caution comes out, your tail end. If you pit,
Starting point is 00:11:46 you're going to lose another lap for sure. And wasn't pit road closed? Yes. So that, so instead of being able to pit and line up with any cars he's racing or whatever or even take a wave around at that point, I don't think you can.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah, he wouldn't have been able to take the wave around anyway because of the initial penalty over the water too soon or but because he's under penalty but that it's just to me it made it worse yeah by by staying out um but he he had a very he had a lot stuff going on did you see what his penalty was for did brett tell you no there's a guy oh the guy sitting on the wall yeah that's a little uh yeah that's a little yeah that's brutal but our race was fairly uneventful spinity race was pretty good senior race was wild I didn't spot it, but did you spot it? Yep. I had old number nothing. Garrett Smithley.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Kind of just harpooned the poor guy at the end of the race there. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. It just wasn't. That's a tough racetrack now. Texas is really tough because if you miss the bottom and you try to, and you get off the bottom, it's hard. Guys have no choice but to pinch guys down on restarts.
Starting point is 00:12:56 And if you don't, you're just going to get trained. And, you know, I thought the Xfinney race. was very exciting. The outside, you never knew which lane, even the cup race. You didn't know which guy was going to get to lead, which I think is kind of cool. But, man, that racetrack is just so big and wide. We only use a lane and a hat, two lanes of it at most. You know, it's kind of a, I kind of wish it was the old Texas still where you can move all around.
Starting point is 00:13:18 I mean, back in the, before they repaid it, we were up by the wall. We were all over the place. I think Chase Elliott made it very clear that he was not happy with it. They had to do something because the place just wouldn't dry. Like, remember the one year? I mean, it rained like a year after. and we rained out for the whole day because it would just held it holds it held water like it would never the front stretch was the worst in my opinion it would never get all the way dry it would just never get
Starting point is 00:13:41 dry so they had to do something i just don't understand why they went into a complete reconfiguration because like tj said the racing was great there you moved all around uh we don't even use them lanes at all yeah we don't use any of the racetrack i to me i think i think they should have the straightaways in my opinion if it rains it rains i'd rather have a great race and be there on monday and put on it I mean, I know that doesn't, it doesn't sound right because when you're there, you just want to get it in. But, I mean, look at Atlanta. You know, it puts on such a great race.
Starting point is 00:14:10 There's so much moving around. You can watch guys take off, burn up their tires, and in 10 laps, here they come right back to you. Yeah, that was the other big thing yesterday. And all weekend, really, was tires. No fall off. The truck race, the last stage, I don't think anybody put tires on. Everybody pit for fuel, and that was 75 laps or something like that, whatever it was,
Starting point is 00:14:28 the second half of that race, you know, so it kind of, one takes all, you know, all the strategy out of it like it doesn't matter we're going so fast there so good ear wants to probably bring a really durable tire where you don't they don't have any issues but then they just end up lasting forever and the tires there's no fall off everyone runs the same speed almost and the new surfaces are so smooth surfaces like you know the new asphalt or these companies develop these smooth surfaces and we use them we need to get back to using like oh i think they should bring in it assault from like Myrtle beach or something whatever they do whatever they paved Atlanta with or you know yeah bring that stuff in and make it gritty and make it like it like it like it Like make it use the tire up. I know we're worried about, you know, safety and you don't want guys blowing tires, but the racing is suffering because of the tire lasting as long as it does. All right. Ready for spot on, spot off? You really printed this?
Starting point is 00:15:15 What? Spot on, spot off. That was great. First one, Almerola says if he's not in the championship four, Lagano will know it at Homestead. T.J. Why you started with me? Well, might as well. I really have no idea what he's talking about.
Starting point is 00:15:37 And I think after he goes and looks at some tape, he'll probably backtrack some because I don't have, we weren't like, we were just racing. We didn't, you can't just let a guy go. I'm obviously spot off on this because we weren't in his door. I don't think, like I said, when I think he goes back and sees the video, I think he'll notice that maybe he just got loose. Maybe he overdrew the corner or something and got loose because I don't, I mean, did you see the.
Starting point is 00:16:01 video? I haven't seen the video yet. I'm about to show you the video. I just, you got to see the video because this is how, this is what he bases it off of. And to me, what did you think? Do you see it? Yeah, he didn't even get close. We weren't even, he says we went down there, like, right on his door. It didn't look like that at all. And we were, um, we were not even, I think NASCAR. Even though, even if you were on his door, like, you had to be, if, especially I'm sure at this point you were racing, in the top five-ish. Yeah, it was definitely. So, I mean, on these restarts, the way that second lane was in one and two, if you weren't down in the, you know, on the guy's door. We're on the outside right here. Yeah, he'll change it to him when he sees it. I mean, it wasn't even close.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I mean, there was half a car lane still. Even if it was, even if you were down on this door, like, we are racing. Like, that's how you're supposed to gain your spots. And his, I see one excuse is like, well, he's already in Homestead. But doesn't mean you should let him go. What does that mean? Our guys deserve to win just as much as his guys. If you move up and give him any kind of room and put yourself in that gray,
Starting point is 00:17:07 you go from running sixth to 12th in a hurry because the whole line on the bottom is going to freight. Yeah, I would expect him to do the same thing. Honestly, for him being out there, I think he'd be honest tighter than we were him. Yeah, oh, yeah. I didn't see anything wrong with it. And the only other thing I would say about it was earlier this year at Pocono, he got into, I think, with Matt the 32 there. and he, you know, and he was mad the, what was the comments?
Starting point is 00:17:32 He was there to, he's paid to race or whatever. I mean, there's nothing malicious about that right there at all that even get mad. I think he's just frustrated. Probably stressed. I mean, this is like, yeah, it's playoff time. I mean, you know, and. Just tired of guys complaining about racing. Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:50 You know what I mean? Like, we're there, like everybody's paid to race. Everybody's on their, you know, everybody, no matter what, if you're on the lead lap, if you're one lap down, you're one lap down, you're always. racing somebody. Like, I could be racing a guy that's two cars ahead of me. You know, there's two or three cars ahead of me yesterday in that Busher deal that we're racing with a position. Two laps down.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Bushers, one down. But there's only like a car or two that's one down. So now our race is to get to that first car two down because in one or two cautions, you're the lucky dog. Yeah, you get a couple of quick costumes. So, you know, you just, you have to run your race and you know, everybody wants to fucking complain about, oh, he's running me too hard or, you know, he should have moved over,
Starting point is 00:18:26 should have let me up. No, no, no, We're racing. Yeah. And, I mean, there's a time when you, you know, last few laps if that's for the lead, you're going to be on them tight. But, I mean, honestly, I think he just got loose kind of by himself there. I don't think you were on him. I don't even think we did anything there.
Starting point is 00:18:40 So I think he'll change his tune on that a little bit. And everyone, I think Kevin made some, did Kevin make some comments after the race about it? I think I saw like an hour after race, he's doing a post-race or whatever, and he's like, yeah, there's nothing. You can't be mad at something like that. I mean, the guy's racing too. So, and number one, he wasn't even on you tight. That's his teammate, so.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Yeah. Where do you stand at Homestead? No. Kind of a little bit towards turn four. Oh, man, I'm towards turn four. I'm worried. You got everybody ready to kill you. Well, they're going to get in line.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I'll bring one of them deli counters and we'll take a number. They'll take a number. Seriously. That's what we need. Black 20, come on down. And then Jason, we'll put a camera up there and does not let them know. Oh, my God. Gosh. I mean, to me, it's also like just trying to jump on the wagon a little bit here too.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Like, I mean, sure. I mean, really. But reading through some comments, everyone was kind of like, well, nothing really happened there. You're kind of wrong. Yeah. In my opinion, and you've been around racing for a long time, anytime somebody says they're going to wreck you, they're going to do this, you're going to know I'm there. They don't do it. Like, the guys that you got to worry about are the Matt Kenseth of the world who don't say nothing and they go out and junk your shit.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Like, you know, like, I don't know about you, but I've heard it all the time. You know, somebody's been somebody out. Oh, yeah. Oh, next week, I'm going to put him through the wall. You know, he's going on out. And they never, ever do anything. The jar is full of drivers that will say that, you know. But, I mean, you know, there's, sometimes it's warranted, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:17 and sometimes it's not. But everyone has their own opinion on it. NASCAR mistakenly makes Jimmy Johnson start at the rear after failing pre-race inspection twice. Spot on, spot off, Freddy. Oops. Like, this is, it's obviously spot off. I mean, you can't have this happen. But, you know, props to NASCAR, spot on to them owning up to it, apologizing.
Starting point is 00:20:41 But there is nothing more frustrating than when they make a mistake and it affects your race in such a big manner. And what they say is, hey. Sorry. My bad. Sorry about that. I don't understand. I feel like Chad, knowing who, like, wouldn't you? What happened?
Starting point is 00:20:57 So they somehow they got a miscommunication. They thought they must have failed a third time. Because I think a third time is the penalty where you start at the rear. So they said it was some kind of miscommunication from the infield tech officials to the tower that maybe the tower thought he failed a third time. So right before the race, they said that. Right before the race, they said 48's got to start the tail. So they didn't really have time to tell them. Like they didn't vet.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Yeah. They didn't like, yeah, however it went down, they screwed up and thought, I guess the tower thought he failed three times and the garage. And usually most teams would know this ahead of time, right? Like, Jimmy just was blind-headed by it. I would assume so. I would assume the crew. They probably fought it. They probably were like, no, you know, you're wrong.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Why? Yeah. You got three pace laps to figure that out. Yeah. Yeah. Well, man. That was not good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Brad Kislowski says Texas may be the last time. a stock car ever goes over 200 miles per hour in qualifying trim. T.J. Yeah, I really don't, I really don't care. I mean, I like the speed, but, you know, it's not, I don't have to go to a racetrack and see a car do 200 miles an hour. As long as the race is good, I mean, we've had, we've had great races when the car is qualified at 180, you know, so as long as the race is good, it's definitely unique to see.
Starting point is 00:22:24 and I kind of wish it was single car qualifying, so you could focus on these guys sometimes when they would run these laps because it's pretty cool. I used to go down to pit road sometimes, single car qualifying. And go down there and see the cars go by, doing 215 mile an hour in a turn one. It's pretty amazing. So it's definitely unique because of the repave
Starting point is 00:22:46 and stuff like that. But, you know, I don't personally need to see them go that fast, but it's definitely pretty cool to go and see a race car, you know, reach them speed. It is the Cup Series. It is, you know, we're supposed to be fast. It's good for the fans. The fans get a big kick out of, you know, like California and Michigan.
Starting point is 00:23:03 There was a California. California puts that big spotometer deal in a turn one where you can see it. And it actually is pretty cool. Yeah. And it also helps you a little bit like we're in our job like, hey, you know, we're, you can relate to your crew chief. Hey, we're doing 208 in the corner when, you know, Harvick's running 212 or whatever, you know. But spot on. We're not going to see next year, obviously, 200 miles an hour.
Starting point is 00:23:24 And I don't, like you said, I'm not necessarily sure that's a bad thing. Like when the cars are going 200 miles an hour, it's because we've got too much grip, you know, too much down force. The cars are handling too good. And we've talked about it before on the show. When there's that much speed through the corner and the cars are going that fast, the racing suffers. You know, it's hard to pass. So I think, you know, I don't know that we're going the right way to slow them down. I think you're, you know, you might be better off making them harder to drive so they got a lift and spend time out of the gas.
Starting point is 00:23:51 But, you know, we're not going to see these speeds next year and we'll see. But, yeah, I don't, 200 miles an hour just means we're going too fast through the center of the corner. It's definitely unique, though. I mean, it's unique to see a car, you know, guys be able to go that fast. I mean, it is special in its own way. For sure. TJ's Yearbook photo. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Little teapot short and stout. Here is my headset. Here is my mic. What was that from? We recorded that this morning. I really like your nicknames. Teapot might stay. I thought we did something like that a long time ago.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I don't remember. No, it was way before your time. Oh, that was nice. You guys were cute. It was cute. Who's Matt and Barry? Why did you like watching them fight? My friends in high school, they used to fight all the time.
Starting point is 00:24:48 It was so much fun. They were just brothers that one was a grade lower, and they just fought all the time. So it was always fun to watch. It was literally you could sit right here and just watch them fight. It was fun. It's kind of nice that you still have the same quotes as you have. back in school. I was going to say you got another form.
Starting point is 00:25:04 That's pretty much. So let's look at it. I don't know what year this is. I would imagine senior year. You were in press club, impressive. Apparently I was in track too. Our school didn't have football. I don't know if that's senior.
Starting point is 00:25:21 It might be a little older because I used to wear racing shirts from my yearbook pitchers. I literally have one year I have an Ernie Irving shirt on. One year I have a Dave Blaney sprint car shirt. Yeah. It's, I got some great pitchers. Hanging out with Mr. D, that's, that sounds awesome. I was going to say, I didn't realize that joke's been around that long. Little did you know.
Starting point is 00:25:46 You saw smart I was. You started it. You might have started it. Do you still have this shirt? I like it. Yeah, absolutely not. I don't, yeah, this is old. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:58 I like his haircut, though. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, that's good. That's impressive. It is. Man. Somebody just sent me a picture. They ran into a friend of mine that I went to high school with, and I actually signed their yearbook, and they sent me a picture of what I wrote in the yearbook.
Starting point is 00:26:15 And I'm like, I don't remember any of that. Like, what the hell was I talking about? Like, certain teacher's names of us in. I'm like, I don't remember what grade, what subject that guy taught. Nothing. I'm like, I'm like, I forgot. I wrote a Valentine in fifth grade. to a girl and on it I wrote will you go out with me
Starting point is 00:26:34 and I forgot I did it and then I got her friend come over there her friend's name was Jenny Fields and she goes around her and she's like hey Aaron said yes I'm like what are you talking about? She said she'll go out with you I'm like oh yes sweet I got a girlfriend
Starting point is 00:26:47 How can you forget that? Because I probably wrote around about seven of them Hey better chance of numbers Yeah I mean Yeah I mean How are I just put that Will you be mine little one in there
Starting point is 00:26:59 Here you go. The worst. You can sort them out when you get your responses. True. The worst. And that girl, her name's Aaron. She actually lives in Charlotte now. Oh.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Yeah. So, I know. She lives in Charlotte. So, yeah, my fifth grade girlfriend. Keeping your, being your valentines of yourself nowadays. I am. What if they all said yes?
Starting point is 00:27:20 You have like five or six girlfriend? I mean, it's, how many days are in a week? Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't they? You just can't get more than seven. Well, that's when I just sent my buddy back, be like, hey, he was just kidding. I picked the hottest one out
Starting point is 00:27:32 Just kidding. Sent the right, wrong line. Everyone wanted to date teapot. Yes. These nicknames. It might have been a T-bone. Yeah. T-T-T-G.
Starting point is 00:27:42 That's great. T-pot. I mean, everything. Tea pot's my faith. I think Dale quote tweeted it. So if you're listening, he did. He did. I actually text him.
Starting point is 00:27:53 I'm like, thanks for the random Sunday morning. Like, thanks for the random drug test. I'm getting Sunday morning. Appreciate it. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. So yeah, congrats to Jordan Erickson for finding that photo somehow.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Him and. If you have any more, please do it as well. Who originally posted it? I think Jordan Erickson, he's upstairs here. So he, yeah, he's part of Josh Bray's little group there. Sometimes they act high schoolish. So that doesn't surprise me that they found some high school stuff. That's great.
Starting point is 00:28:26 All right, let's take a break. This is your exaltor. Race Center update. I'm Matthew Dillner. Kevin Harvick's Cup Series performance on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway was pure dominance. The Bakersfield, California native, led 177 laps in route to a win that puts him in the championship final four in Homestead, Miami, Florida. He and Joey Lugano are both locked in with two spots remaining and only one race to go before the final. On Saturday, the Xfinity series was back in action. Things got physical on the last lap as Cole Custer muscled by Tyler Reddick to win, forcing his way into the championship four at Homestead.
Starting point is 00:29:04 After Texas, Reddick, Elliott Sadler, and Daniel Hemrick are currently in a points position to make the finale with one race to go to determine who makes it to Homestead. The trucks went round and round under the lights at Texas on Friday night. Todd Gillilin was less than a lap away from his first truck series win when his number four ran out of fuel, handing the win and a spot in the championship race to Justin Haley. and his GMS teammate Johnny Sotter are now both locked into Homestead. To the short tracks we go, the cars tour wrapped up its season at South Boston Speedway in Virginia, and Junior Motorsports late model driver Josh Berry finished with a strong fourth place effort.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Teammate Sam Mayer finished eight. One to go. It all comes down to this weekend. ISM Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. One race in each of NASCAR's big three series will determine who races for the championship at Homestead. This has been your Exalta Race Center update. Starting point is 00:30:41 Offer subject to restrictions and requirements of the licensee. For licensing information, visit our website or call us. And we are back. We'll head in the fast lane. I'll give these guys three topics pertaining to racing and one that is off the wall. They'll have 30 seconds to receive. respond to each. First one, Jimmy Johnson and Fernando Alonzo will swap rides at Ball Rain this winter. If your driver could swap rides with another racer in any form of racing and you got to drive,
Starting point is 00:31:09 who would you have them swap with? T.J. I guess that's better than spit. How old are you? Oh, ma'am. I would like to see Kyle Busch going on Formula One. This is you get to drive. Oh, I get to drive? Yeah. I didn't listen to. I didn't get past bar rain bar bar.
Starting point is 00:31:34 So I get to swap with anybody. Yep. Oh, wow. Hey, let's go drive a Formula One car. Why not? I swap with Hamilton. His car is fast. I'm going, are we driving or is our driver driving?
Starting point is 00:31:50 No, Bubba got the opportunity, but he's going to let you drive. He's going to let me drive. I'm going to take a world out last. School bus. I already drove a school boat. What driver would you swap with? Donny shots? I mean, obviously.
Starting point is 00:32:03 Who the hell else would you swap with it? Obviously. What's he got like 47 championships now? Ten. Honestly, if I could do it, I would probably go, I would probably choose a dirt modified now that I think about it again. I'd go drive a big block. Yeah, like an Oswego during Super Dirt Week or something.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I don't know. I would love to swap and drive a sprint car like that, but I would have to also swap underwear. underwear and what do you call like I'm trying to think of the cleanest way to say this what marbles with donny shots oh you need a sack yeah you need to sack up for that I don't know that I don't know that my and my purse like right now I don't think I'll put you on eye racing for a little bit but you're running yeah I'm sure it's exactly the same like if you end up in the fence I mean it's like I'm not talking about the wall I'm talking about the fence up on the wall like hanging by a wing
Starting point is 00:32:52 doesn't seem very good for me but yeah you know they have sprint car schools. Do they? Yeah. Maybe we can start some sort of like GoFundMe or something or maybe we can get like people to donate to go to Freddy's outlaw school. Freddy's Outlaw. And we'll go video.
Starting point is 00:33:06 We'll go watch you drive a sprint car the first time. You're going to be miced up the whole time. And there's a camera on you the whole time. I mean, it's a lot of a sprint car, but Chad will put you in a midget. No, I can't fit in a midget. I don't think. I'd look like Bowser for Mario Clark in her midget. Just elbows out the side of it.
Starting point is 00:33:23 I was like, can picture right. All right. I just picture a midget running around holding you on his shoulders. I'd probably need a couple of them. That's not what I was going with. You won't have reached leg. I'm going to answer this question too. I would love to swap with Ryan Dungey and be a world champion supercross right there.
Starting point is 00:33:43 And then be able to retire. You can't flung off that thing. What? I've always like supercross is my favorite sport. I would love to race if I could. There is absolutely no way you could drive that motorcycle. You can't reach the ground. I was going to.
Starting point is 00:33:55 Yeah. You fall right over. Ken Roxen is super skinny and small and he's not that tall. There is no way you're going to drive a 250. Or what are those are, are those 450s? If kids can do it, I can do it. No. No, you can't.
Starting point is 00:34:09 I mean, we can put you on them. Have you watched Supercross when the kids go? Yeah. You could ride one of them. Have you ever driven a motorcycle with like a clutch and all that right there? When I was little. No, I mean, ever. Like, could you do it right now?
Starting point is 00:34:22 I was little. My dad used to do. Could you let go to the clutch with your left hand and give it throttle by twisting your wrist. Dude, she's going to have, what are they called? Whiskey throttle or whatever? She's going to look like Clint. Remember Clint? The Supergrass race sounds great. So you need to look at YouTube and just go to like motorcycle whiskey throttle and you'll see a bunch of amateur people. They go, they start going, they're in their backyard like where this would happen with you and the blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:34:46 And they're like, the thing with your wrist is like you start moving a little bit, your wrist moves the throttle. So when you bounce a little bit, the wrist starts, it takes you off. And then you're like in the bushes and fences before you know it. Well, I didn't say I was going to do it, but I say I would want to. Yeah. I mean, this could easily be arranged. Yeah. Maybe not with him, but it could be arranged with a dirt bike.
Starting point is 00:35:08 I think we should start off on something small. You need, yeah, like a complete. A pit bike. Ticycle. Like a. When does your life insurance kick in when you get married? I don't know. We'll set that up a chair.
Starting point is 00:35:18 You might need that life alert thing on your neck. Life alert on while you're driving. Holy cow. It would be fun. Who would you switch with you? Jason? I think sprint cars look really fun. I went to the dirt race in Charlotte this weekend.
Starting point is 00:35:30 It looked so much fun to drive that. No conferences? It was so cold. Yeah. So cold. Were you there? What? It was cold here?
Starting point is 00:35:37 It was freezing at the World Valerie. I was in the press box. It was a little nice temperature control. I turned the race off. I was watching it as soon as shots got the lead. I was like, hey. Yeah, I'm a Cito. This is over.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Yeah. Oh, well. That's promising for a sprint car, guys. It's promising for the, um, Carl Larson's team next year for him to be running that good in their first race really yeah um that was big he was the one that got in the jason car right and won his qualifying night yeah yeah that was cool that was a really cool to see yeah isn't someone else is getting in that car yeah gravel oh okay that's right they're all swapping ride sheen seward's going to gravel's ride gravel so is
Starting point is 00:36:16 sheldon still on the 17 that last we heard yeah as of now yeah because there for a while it wasn't going to be i think he's done pretty good he's wrecked a lot but He's, for a rookie year for him, I think he's done pretty well. Yeah, he's like, he's kind of like, we go back to, like, talking about Sheldon earlier. He's got a ton of speed. Yeah, he's got to put together. You kind of harness it where you're not trying something to. He started off really strong.
Starting point is 00:36:38 I mean, he won the first race, right? Yeah. And he's been fast. He just makes mistakes. He was leading, was it last year he was leading that Lernerville race for the 25,000 or whatever? I was watching it. Yeah. And he hit the wall out of four.
Starting point is 00:36:51 And, I mean, he was going to win that one, too. I mean, the kid's good, and Brad Sweet's pretty much the next Donnie shots in the making. Like, you can see it creeping up. He's such a nice guy. It's okay. He's so nice. It's okay if he does. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:05 I mean, if you see like a really nice guy too well. The only guy you can see eye at eye with. I mean, that's fine. How about Casey? Do you see Casey's qualifying effort this week? No. His left front tire fell off. Or is it right front?
Starting point is 00:37:17 I can't remember. Oh, it wasn't like a bearing or something though? Like, I think the spindle broke or something broke. Yeah, that's. I mean, that was. Did he flip? No, I don't know how he didn't. But, yeah, just coming off of two, the wheel fell off.
Starting point is 00:37:28 It's crazy. Oh, yeah, that would scare the-uh. Yeah, that might happen in your school car. Yeah, yeah. I really think we need to do that. I would love to. We'll get a two-seater. We'll just me and you go out there.
Starting point is 00:37:38 No, I don't want to ride with you. We can swap. I'll drive if you ride. Who runs the outlaw, like, training? I think Dave Blaney has one, doesn't here? One of them guys had. They used to. I remember there being a Dave Blaney school.
Starting point is 00:37:52 You should set that up. I know there's a dirt late model in Cherokee. Didn't Kenny did a modified one? Like, I feel like Wallace. Yeah. Oh, yeah, no, I saw that maybe a month or so. Someone, something. Yeah, they do a lot of them.
Starting point is 00:38:08 They just don't promote it as much. I know there's a two-seater because they ran in Knoxville. Jeff Gluck wrote in it. So someone's got one somewhere. Yeah. We need to figure out because I want to see Freddie change shorts. I literally want to see him change shorts. It's kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:38:23 I don't know. Not sure if I would raise it that way, but... You can come over if you want. It's like every night. It's all right. I brought a pair. I brought a pair for you. Oh, all right.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Next one. This question stresses me out. After winning the most Xfinity races this season, Justin Allgaier and Christopher Bell are outside the top four heading to Phoenix. Will both neither or just one make it to Homestead? Freddie? I think... I think one makes it to Homestead.
Starting point is 00:38:54 He got. I think it'll be C-Bell. I think C-Bell wins this week. But it's going to be a good race between Elliot. Unfortunately, for this building, I think it'll be a good race between Elliot and Justin for the last spot. Just Justin's had a lot of speed. It's going to come down to, I think, whoever wins the race. I think either Justin or C-bell win the race on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:39:19 And I think that going back and past, Justin's had a lot of success there. but C-Bell's been the faster car here lately. So I think that's it, and then go ahead, Teach. I don't know. It's going to be tough. I think a couple of them guys, I don't think we'll hear anything from Elliott Sadd that all weekend. I think Elliot's going to be 6th, 7th, 8th, and qualify him, maybe a little further back.
Starting point is 00:39:42 I think he's going to run 5th 8th in a race, nice, quiet. You're not going to hear from him, so he's going to point his way in, be quiet. He's a very smart. He's a very smart racer like that. Hemrick and Redick Redick had a few instances in Texas where he put himself in danger and that's
Starting point is 00:40:00 I'm not sure how he's going to race he might be back there and get caught up in something so you would have to see how the restarts go and what wrecks happened Yeah I think like Elliot like you said like the thing that changes everything especially we've already seen this is the stage points like Elliot being 12 to the good
Starting point is 00:40:19 he's going to run like he said 6th or 7th all day long. But if Justin can get up there, win a stage, he's made up five points. Bell has to have a flawless day. Yeah, Bell's got to win, I think. Bell's almost got to win. He has to win. He has to win.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Justin can point his way. If Justin wins some stages and Elliot runs fifth, that's 15 points right there. And that puts Justin. I'm interested seeing how Hemrick runs. Yeah. He's been. He ran pretty decent. I know he's going to be decent, but under pressure, he's been in, he's put himself
Starting point is 00:40:50 in some danger before. So trying to close out. See how he goes. Yeah. It's crazy how many wins you have between Justin and Christopher and they're both have a shot. Guess Hirsch got mad Saturday, huh? Did he get mad? I think a little bit.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Well, it's, I mean, if he's going to be mad, oh, well, he probably got mad at Austin. I'm sure. But, like, that's two races in a row. I mean, they start this round well in control of their own destiny. They basically have to finish races. and they're going to transfer without issues. They go in the first turn of Kansas, Rick. First turn at Texas, wreck.
Starting point is 00:41:27 Yeah, spun himself out too. I mean, the first one, they got crowded a little bit, but the second one here this week, you just drove in the corner and spun out. Like, you can't, like, talk about guys that are too fast. That's stuff that you can't do. He could afford that wreck at Kansas, didn't knock them out.
Starting point is 00:41:40 No. But this one, I mean, this deal here, you spun yourself out, which kind of put you behind the eight ball. That puts you in position for some of this stuff to happen. Yeah. So it just shows you one thing can lead to another too. And, you know, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:56 You know, wrecks happened back there. So I'm not saying, yeah, you've got tapped a little bit. But, you know, that's just character. That track was tough. You knew if you crowded a guy down there, it was going to be tough. Yeah. So. You know, if you got, I've seen a lot of guys, especially in the truck race.
Starting point is 00:42:11 It was like the experience and talent level picked up through the weekend, obviously. But a lot of guys in the truck race, a lot of guys in the Xfinity race, everybody's fighting for the bottom so hard. They would all drive in and clip that apron. And when they clip the apron, it would either launch you out into the guy next to you or do you just spin out like Christopher did. So, you know, it was really easy to make a mistake in the turn one. I thought his interview was really well.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Did you see it? Christopher's? I didn't see it. Yeah. He just said, you know, no matter what happens, he's had a really good year, really successful year. Is he running an ex-inity again? Yeah. Yeah, he's running.
Starting point is 00:42:41 He was lying, I think, in that interview. He was actually really good about it. He just said it was hard race, any kind of, you know? Oh, you're talking about, like, didn't throw what's the name under the bus? Yeah, he didn't throw anybody on the boss. He just said it was hard racing no matter what happens at home. Or Phoenix, you know, he said he's had a good year. He's going to go there and try to win, obviously.
Starting point is 00:42:58 But he's had a good year no matter what. But that's, you know, this happens to somebody almost every year, you know, some top guys. Now we've got two of them that are that we thought for sure that would be a homestead racing. So I think, although I think they'll both make it. You need both? I hope so. What about you? One?
Starting point is 00:43:17 I said one. I said I said I thought Bill was going to. I think I'll say one and it's going to be the race winner it's either going to be bell or justin you know Cendrick though Brad won that race in the spring and Cindrix in that car yeah that's Brad yeah I don't I'm just saying I mean you there's a he could put the race together I mean he almost won Saturday yeah in the last corner he was riding third there and if those two get together he's he wins that race yeah and then he's in I just he's he's just way too inconsistent well he's got he's I mean This is his first full year.
Starting point is 00:43:50 I mean, he probably, he said at the beginning that he wasn't quite, you know, probably ready for it yet. But, you know, you never know when somebody's going to put together that race. That car could do it. Yeah. So. Two spots remain in the Cup Series Championship 4 heading to Phoenix. Two of the remaining drivers would you prefer to compete against in Miami. I mean, obviously, I would rather have, you know, if I could pick the final two, I would probably pick Almerola and Boyer.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I think those are the two, you know, that they can run good races and have success, but they're also the ones that are more likely to not have, you know, the other Kyle and, you know, TrueX are going to be tough. So, and they're pretty much pointed in right now. So all they need to do is go to Phoenix and finish basically, what, top 15 is 20-ish EV. even and be good. But if I could pick the other two, I'd definitely take Kyle and Martin out because they're going to be fast. I'm glad you said that because I was expecting something. You know, I love when people say like, I want, I want the best two.
Starting point is 00:45:04 I want Kyle and I want Truex. So I want to, if I'm going to win, I want to beat the best too. Nah, no, give me whoever is, give me a guy with three wheels. I want to win a championship. You know what I mean? If I had to pick, I mean, obviously that's not racing, but if I had to pick for TJ, I'd say I'd put in probably Amarola and Chase Elliott. Chase scares me there, though, because he can move around.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Yeah, those are the two I had to do with. Yeah, I like, you don't, of course, no matter whoever these guys are, Homsets are going to be tough no matter what. But to get there, you know, to get there, those last four, I mean, you're going to almost have to win the race. Yeah, oh, yeah. I mean, I think has it been won by somebody that doesn't win the race? No, all four years it's been.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Yeah, the race winner's. champion, which is, uh, that's ridiculous. I think it's a lot to do with maybe, uh, laxed tech issues. I don't know. You know, like, I don't know. I don't know. This first championship I ran for, so, you know, it always seems like those four cars haul ass when we get to Homestead and it's, you know, you're going to bring your badass
Starting point is 00:46:09 piece there. And, well, I will say this at Homestead, the other, they get a lot more breaks, those four, too. Oh, yeah. So they find their way to the front if they get close. because nobody wants to be the guy that ruins the championship. I think it was last year. Who race for last? Truex and Kyle,
Starting point is 00:46:24 I think we're racing, and Larson was hauling ass, running him down. Yeah, and he laid back. And rolled out and let them to race for it, which, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:33 kudos to him, because that's tough to do. You know, he was probably going to win the race. And so, you know, that also, like you said, plays a factor in guys,
Starting point is 00:46:41 don't race them guys as hard because they know what they're racing for. But, yeah, it always seems like them four cars are really, really fast. Like a couple years ago, I think he was Newman. You know, he booted somebody out of the way on the last lap in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:46:54 And then all of a sudden he got to Homestead and was as fast as faster than he's been all year long. He was hauled ass. So, you know, I don't, like, you can't NASCAR's not going to be able to throw somebody out. You know what? You know, I mean, if you win a race, you got to be too low, they're not going to go. Oh, you know what? Never mind. It's an encumbered championship.
Starting point is 00:47:13 Yeah. I hope it doesn't ever get to that. That'd be bad. I'd hate to be the guy that finished a second to a car that wouldn't pass it, you know, and if you did. So, yeah. Off the wall topic. Now that it's November, some people have already started celebrating Christmas. When does the Christmas season begin now or after Thanksgiving?
Starting point is 00:47:36 Freddie. Oh, after Thanksgiving. God help us all. You see already commercials and stuff in the stores going over to it. I go racing a turkey derby Thanksgiving weekend, then I come back for the snowball derby after that. So then after that,
Starting point is 00:47:53 usually sometimes after a snowball derby, Megan will have the, she'll have the tree up and stuff. So I'll come home to Christmas time, but definitely not before Thanksgiving. Yeah, I think Thanksgiving is kind of the... You guys are horrible. I would put the Christmas tree up after Halloween if I could.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Technically speaking. Chad is holding my Christmas stuff hostage in the garage right now because I want to put them up right now. That's not really true. true. You know how to get the Christmas stuff out, right? You start holding out. You'll get your Christmas stuff real quick.
Starting point is 00:48:26 You know, if it was up to me, Christmas would probably start, like, the week of Christmas when I go shopping for the first time. You guys are the worst. Why so early? I know how you know. I did Christmas Eve. I've been there under Christmas Eve a lot. This is literally, this is, and, like, Dale Jr. is bad.
Starting point is 00:48:45 We have went Christmas Eve, and the bad part about it is the girls are so smart. They figure it out that you go to like Best Buy and then we just, you go down the strip. You know, like all the stores or the Alta there. And then they're like, wait a minute. You got something from here, here and here. Did you just go down the strip? Like, why does it matter? Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:49:09 Like, they figure it out. No, that's, no. Christmas is why. favorite time of year. I have to spend every single weekend of November and December at the racetrack. So I want to put Christmas stuff up now so I can enjoy it. You don't have to spend every weekend at the race. Well, I will be.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Wait until, yeah. Wait until you're a... Every one in America. Rastrack. Until you're a mama here, then you'll be at home. No. I think you guys are grinches because Christmas should start now. I'm 100% scrooge.
Starting point is 00:49:40 I mean, like Thanksgiving is a good time because then it starts cooling off. You have Thanksgiving. Yeah. After Thanksgiving, the next thing you focus on is Christmas. I will say that I'm going to start Christmas shopping soon, though. Because they get so expensive. At least for the kids. We have our whole, my whole family is coming.
Starting point is 00:49:56 We just moved to close on the house today, which Jason really pissed me off last weekend. Like, I just put a picture out so excited about closing and DBC drops three seconds later. Jason's like, share and retweet it. I'm like, thanks a lot, Jason. Stealing is funger. Jackass. I liked all your posts. I appreciate you like.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Where'd you buy a house at? Moresville, right down 150. Oh, right? Like, what's your part? We'll talk about it later. Yeah. So now my whole family's coming down the first year, so I guess I'll have to get in the Christmas spirit a little bit early. You got to cook turkeys?
Starting point is 00:50:32 Maybe. Deep fry, I want to leave. You know, that's funny because Megan, we were walking through, I don't know, home goods or something the other day, and she's seen one of them turkey fries. She's like, let's deep fry a turkey. I'm like, yeah, let's burn our house down. Are you little home goods? I've been there. once.
Starting point is 00:50:45 And it can happen. You can't burn your house down. Disclosed on it. Two months later. What's the insurance on turkey fires in this place? We did that. Me, Brad, Brad Kay, and
Starting point is 00:50:58 Guy and Gallo works here at Tofer. We decided we were going to do some. And I'm like, okay, we got a couple turkeys. They left them in their fridge. And I put them in the sink, ran them hot. I mean, we got them ready.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Holy cow. We must not got all the ice out of the thing. Dude, we dropped that thing in there. It was popping. Oh, it was coming out the top. It was coming out the top. I mean, you don't even get close to it after that. And it was on a wooden deck and everything.
Starting point is 00:51:22 I'm like, holy cow. I mean, Del Jr. own the house. I wasn't that. Yeah, it was really interesting. But then, so the next year, we went to Gander Mountain and me and Brad bought this smaller deep, like all-enclosed little unit deal, and it was nice. A little deep-friar deal, it's really good.
Starting point is 00:51:42 Like, it's a deep-friar deal. turkey is so good. But, you know, I've had them before, but I've just, I don't, maybe. Does your family, like, is your mom, mom cook good turkeys or something? Nope. Really? Nope. I'm so good at it.
Starting point is 00:51:55 My mom's so good at it. The worst thing about making a turkey is, have you ever made a turkey? Yes with my family, like years ago, though. I'm not talking about, like, going and buying one. Like, slice turkey. Yeah. They're like, I'm talking about, like, actually, like, we made the turkey. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Yeah. Did you actually do it? your family do it and you were just kind of there cutting up the celery. My grandmother taught me how, so she'd tell me what you do and then I would do it. Yeah. But I haven't really been home for like a The worst part about getting a turkey is when you
Starting point is 00:52:25 open it up and you have to pull all the stuff out of it. Yeah. It's all in like a little bag and stuff. So you talk about that. I don't know if my mom's going to listen or not, but I believe one year we might have cooked those. Inside?
Starting point is 00:52:41 Yeah. Oh. Oh, bad day. Wow. They were like in a bag. No wonder. Your mind doesn't make turkeys a lot. I'll tell you a great story. So back when I was where, I used to actually work for a living.
Starting point is 00:52:52 And it was like in a repair shop. So we'd had the radio on. So they'd do like a prank call in the morning. You know, they'd call somebody. So the guy calls up and he's like, uh, he calls butterball turkey. It's like Thanksgiving. He says, hey, uh, I'm having a hard time stuffing my turkey. Can you please tell me what to do to stuff this turkey?
Starting point is 00:53:12 turkey, you know, I don't get it. So the lady goes through, she's like, well, you know, pick what you want to stuff it. Some people just use stuffing, like, you know, bread, you know, bread stuffing or some people use fruits or, you know, vegetables in there. He's like, okay, but what do I do? She's like, well, you just take it and stick it in the turkey's the open cavity. He's like, I understand that. He says, but every time I do that, the turkey tries to bite me.
Starting point is 00:53:37 And the lady's like, what? He's like, every time I try to stuff this stuff in the turkey, it turns around and tries to bite me. He's like, oh, sir, I don't. How do you receive? Oh, yeah. That's good. Oh, that's awful. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:53:53 That was awesome. You know what sucks about Halloween is? I didn't ever get this mask out that I have. Remember the mask I talked about? Yeah, you didn't do it? I got this clown. Oh, I heard you talking about that. Yeah, man, it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:54:03 You can hang it on the door, and as soon as somebody walks by her, turns a lot out, knocks on it. Never got to use it. We went. Well, you can still put it up now. Yeah, just send it. For a Tuesday. It doesn't have to be Halloween. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Okay. I went over. So we closed on the house on October 29th. So I told Megan, I'm like, I'm going to get a bowl of candy and I'm sticking out. Megan got these really cool rocking chairs that are made in Troutman. So we have them on the patio. And I'm like, I'm going to get a ball. Damn, y' y' are like 70 already.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Yeah. That's the first thing we bought us Rocking chairs. I'm like, I am getting old. So I put this. She's like, really going to put candy out? I'm like, yeah, because one of the little sons of bitches eggs my house that's two days old, I'm going to murder them, man. I don't want to go to jail forever.
Starting point is 00:54:40 So that is the thing if you don't put candy out. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. So I don't know. You guys were probably the kids when you were younger that did that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Like in my neighborhood, I don't know about growing up, you were at TJ, but like in my neighborhood, shaving cream sales and egg sales went through the roof. I was in the country. I was in the country. So it was like everyone was on like acres. So you, yeah, you didn't. But, I mean, I don't want to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:55:10 That was probably bad when I was little. That's pretty bad. Yeah, when I'm talking about that. Through rocks. Horrible. Yes. All right. Asked BBC.
Starting point is 00:55:20 First question. Grateful Today asks, how will the reconfigured ISM Raceway play a role in the cutoff race? T.J. Man, so this is a whole new configuration. Same racetrack, just different,
Starting point is 00:55:34 different. Honestly, I'm curious about restarts. Most time restarts, you didn't have a lot of room to get away and, you know, some guys are characteristic for slowing the field way down on the front stretch at the old Phoenix and
Starting point is 00:55:48 generate everybody up and sometimes causing some wrecks. So now with the dog leg we're going to be taking the green and I'm curious to see as soon as we cross the start finish line you can go as low as you want, which, I mean,
Starting point is 00:56:04 does the pulse hit or hang on left? I think you have. I think you have to. Like, you know, you're going to have to just base it off of... I mean, how many times have we seen... Yeah, how many times have we seen a restart where, you know, the guys fan out and everybody's fighting it to the bottom and everywhere else, you know, we've got grass or a pit wall or whatever where you... I think we're going to have a wreck over there. I think we'll have a wreck at some point. The only thing that might help it a little bit is what's something we don't ever do
Starting point is 00:56:29 is basically start in a corner. You know what I mean? We're always starting a straightaway. Basically, now I think we're going to be starting in the middle of one and two. So that kind of creates a little bit of separation But like you said, like it's going to be a mess getting a three every restart Because guys will be down there by the inside wall It'll be like that truck race And going down the end of the backstretch is going to be really interesting Because it's really hard to tell the depth perception from where we're at
Starting point is 00:56:50 So it's going to be exciting I mean, I don't know Same racetrack So once we get racing it's going to be the same You know it's going to be weird It's going to be weird with them coming at us knowing you're coming to the start finish line off of two. Yeah, off of two.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Yeah, that's going to be weird. You know, we'll have a front row seat for somebody. Maybe nudging somebody. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Like you said, even like turn three is difficult. Turn one is difficult. We've seen that a couple years ago with Matt. You know, it's really, this is one of the worst racetracks.
Starting point is 00:57:26 I mean, you could see everything, but as far as spotting goes, this is one of the harder racetracks just for the positioning of the spotter stand that's in the middle of a corner. so they're driving straight at us and straight away from us. And it's really tough to tell if a guy is, you know, at your quarter, if you're clear by a half. Yeah. So, you know, like you said, and Pitt Road is going to be different.
Starting point is 00:57:45 So it'll be interesting to see if that switches anything. I mean, it might make it better. I don't know. I personally missed the old Phoenix, the short track Phoenix instead of the old Phoenix, you know, that was kind of wore out. And it was like it was a real short track. It was a short track to me, a big short track, but it was more of a short track. because you could move around and find some speed and stuff.
Starting point is 00:58:04 Now it's just, you know, it's like Phoenix just got bigger. You know, it's like a short track super speedway kind of deal. But, I mean, we'll see how it looks. I'm excited to get there and check it out. Yeah, look. I mean, all the pictures look great. I don't know. Did you get that map that they gave us for?
Starting point is 00:58:19 I don't understand it. I didn't read hieroglyphics and there's arrow. I don't know what the hell. I don't know what it was. There's so many arrows and dotted lines. Yeah. I could figure out. Who is who?
Starting point is 00:58:31 The cup car's got to drive like four and a half miles to get to the garage, I think. Yeah. I don't know. I don't really know exactly what's going on. Yeah, like go down to Litchfield, make a laugh. So they, and the motor home lot's off of outside the track now. Yeah. Is it?
Starting point is 00:58:45 What are these guys going to do? Oh, my good. Well, most of them, hopefully don't make their guys go all the way out to Phoenix and then go to homestead. But I know a couple that are. What do you mean? Oh, you mean, like driver? Oh, driving. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Oh, I got you. He was talking about, like, how far lies. Yeah. Yeah. I mean. Got it. Second question. Shafee 69
Starting point is 00:59:07 asked what was Brett's Halloween costume? Oh, God. Freddie has a picture of it, and I held it up in the beginning, so maybe Jason or they'll be able to post a picture of that. I'll send to Jason, he can tweet it out. Yeah, that'll be good. Sorry, Brett. No, we're not sorry.
Starting point is 00:59:26 At all. Brett was telling stories about dildos floating around my house. house two weeks ago. The hell with him. I took that far now, so they don't know. No, you didn't. It made the last week.
Starting point is 00:59:35 We talked about it, though. Yeah. Then brought it back. Yeah. Then you brought it back the next episode. It's kind of new information to the audience. Yeah. Well, no, you talked about it on the second show and I wasn't here to defend myself.
Starting point is 00:59:45 So many. So why are there, why are there? Yeah, toys. We'll say toy. Brett talked about toys floating around my ass. Why are there toys floating around here? I don't shut up, T.J. Nobody asked you.
Starting point is 00:59:57 So. Are they yours or? Are they? So the hell with Brett. And so Bodee, Brett's son always picks out Brett's costume. So like whatever Bodey wants to go as Brett has to match. Sidekick. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:14 So like last year they were Batman and Robin. So this year, Bodey went as Luigi. So Brett was married, naturally. Could have been Donkey Kong. Still. I mean the same game. So they have this really cool deal in Brett's neighborhood where they kind of like rope off. I don't know, it's probably a mile or so worth of trails through like the backyards of people's houses and they light them up with lights and everybody decorates their backyard.
Starting point is 01:00:37 And then all the they have tables set up in the backyard of each house. So kids go get candy. Adults get other stuff. Toys. Toys. So we're walking down the trail and maybe partaking in a couple of beverages. And Brett drinks a cup of beer because somebody had a cake. So Brett thinks this big cup of beer
Starting point is 01:01:00 And he's got this big Mario mustache on And he looks up He's like man I think This screwed my mustache up I feel like my mustache is screwed up And I'm like I can't see anything It's pitch black So I'm like hold on
Starting point is 01:01:12 Let me take a picture of you So I snapped this picture of Brett And when you see it You're gonna die laughing I promise you He's not quite as drunk as he looks in the photo Like he was fairly coherent at this point But the lights from the flash blinded him
Starting point is 01:01:27 So he looks annihilated. And I think eventually he got to the annihilation stage, but it was long after this picture was taken. So now that's my blackmail for Brett for him talking crap while I was gone a couple weeks ago. This doesn't really change the fact of what was it your house. I mean, no matter what pictures Brett has, I mean, it was about my suitcase getting lost,
Starting point is 01:01:50 and he thought that my suitcase got stolen because there was a bunch of toys in it. You know what? You have any trips in the off season with him or anything? With Brett? Yeah. Not that I know of. You know what we should have done?
Starting point is 01:02:01 Stuffed his with? No. Well, I was going to do the old, no, I'm not going to tell you. It's not bad. I mean, it's bad, but not bad. You can just. I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:14 But yeah, so Brett, look forward to Brett's Halloween costume picture dropping on DVC this week. Yep. Can't wait. Might as well continue the talking about Brett topic. Jordan Hossack asks, What was the craziest party you've ever been to with Brett? I think me and Brett were probably at some of the same parties a long time ago, but we didn't really know it.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Try to avoid them. We probably didn't know each other much. I'm afraid to know what happened. I mean, yeah, just, I'm going to shut up. But, I mean, yeah, Freddie's probably been to some good ones. But, yeah, but be honest with you, I don't know that we've ever been to a party. I mean, we've gone out a lot and gone some crazy times, you know, like, you know, tables at clubs and stuff like that that go nuts. But we've never been to like a house party together.
Starting point is 01:03:07 We know, a couple of Brett's house we've had, like this week was pretty good. We're Halloween, so we all go over there. And Megan, I told my wife, I had to be up early for the flight to go to Texas. I said, ah, I'm not going to drink that much tonight. I think I'm just going to take it easy. I got to get up at like 6 o'clock. So then I walked, and I didn't really know who was going to Brett, so I thought it was going to be the big bread. A couple of our friends that I knew.
Starting point is 01:03:29 And I walk in and Brett and Clint are there already yelling and screaming. And I'm like, well, there goes not drinking a knife. That was the end of that thought. But yeah, no real crazy. I mean, we've definitely done some stupid stuff before, but nothing really. Yeah. I can't remember any of that I'm sure back in the day we were at some of the same stuff. Like you said like whenever, you know, I'm sure we're out of some of them.
Starting point is 01:03:56 But I'm sure Brett's seen some pretty crazy stuff. Yeah. At times. We, yeah. There's, I mean, if this show had a different rating, we could probably get in a little bit more of it. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's close to it already with your house. One thing I'll tell you, so we go to Nashville a couple of years.
Starting point is 01:04:16 And I always make fun of Brett. I'm like, just so you know, when you drink, you're not invisible. Because I think you might think that you are invisible when you drink Because you act like people can't see. And, you know, we'd be drinking in Nashville. And all of a sudden, like this, you know, country song comes on. And next thing I know I look over it, and Brett is clogging his ass off. And I'm like, I don't think that fits.
Starting point is 01:04:43 And he's out. And I'm like, everybody's looking at him. And he's just stepping away. And I'm like, man, this guy is. He's quite, he's good at clogging. I mean, he's, I don't know what to. I've never judged a clogging competition, but he looks like he knows what he's doing to me. I might have a video of it.
Starting point is 01:04:59 But I got a video. I got a good video with him trying to teach a friend of ours. My friend Kevin, his wife won't learn clogging. So we have like a step-by-step tutorial of Brett trying to teach her how to clog. But he, I'm telling you, like, we'll be sitting there and people are out there doing their, like, what do you call it, line dancing? So I'll be sitting at a table. We went out one night, the girls decided they were going to go to bed. And so me and Brett go to a bar, which is the worst decision they could have ever made.
Starting point is 01:05:28 But so we go out and I'm sitting at the table and I don't know what country song comes on. And I look and there's like rows of people line dancing. And then here comes Brett like through the lines, like clogging his ass off just like back and forth. I'm like, what the hell is he doing? Like calm down. God, people can see you right now. Like, Jesus. Of course I took video of it.
Starting point is 01:05:50 Can you not clog? Clon? No, I mean, I could probably try it at three in the morning, but it's probably not going to look quite as good as Brett doing it. Oh, that's funny. I'm sure. I mean, nobody's going to see this on the thing, but yeah, I'll show you guys video a little bit. But, yeah. I don't really have a rant. Nothing? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:06:08 Let me think. My, I got a rant, is the randomness of when we decide to throw cautions and what we don't. Because our race got destroyed yesterday because... She stayed out. No, well, we had a pit. We were out of fuel. But the 19. You know, he goes up, touches the wall, gets to the bottom.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Yeah. No reason for a caution. Put it out. It puts us two laps down. Yeah, that's kind of been a... I mean, a few weeks ago. Something else happened. Oh, it was Richmond.
Starting point is 01:06:38 No, it was an exfini racer. Richmond. We were... Dale Jr. was looking really good at winning that. And then somebody got up out of the groove. Didn't even touch the wall. It was like the 15 car. Didn't even touch the wall.
Starting point is 01:06:48 And then we throw the caution. And then we were running somewhere else, mile and a half, somewhere after that. And somebody clobbered the wall. And they ran like a whole lap because they couldn't get down on the apron. We don't have any caution at all. So, I don't know. I mean, I know everything's up to their discretion and kind of, you know, if they don't see and they look over there and they see a slow car and he spark and they're going to, you know.
Starting point is 01:07:10 I think that might add into it too is whenever they look and see it. It looks like he's air-humping. right there. That's a different video. So yeah, you know, I can see some of that, but it's hard to, it's hard to say anything whenever, you know, you're not sitting down there calling the cautions of me. If you're, if you're the race treacher and you're looking in turn three, then all of a sudden you look back in one, you see one down in the bottom smoking and sparking and stuff. Like it, and they, did he hit the wall?
Starting point is 01:07:41 Yeah, okay, well, you know, what if you do, so what I'm thinking is, what if he is pulling down low to come to a stop because he needs help, you know, or, you know what I mean? I'm fine with it. I don't mind throwing a caution every time somebody gets up and brushes the wall, but we don't. You know what I mean? Like, that's just the randomness of it. It's driving you crazy. And the way of, you know, you don't realize at the time, but, like, you think, oh, we're not in a pit cycle or something.
Starting point is 01:08:05 I kind of, I know it screws some people, and sometimes it works in your favor. Sometimes it doesn't. I kind of like the, I like, you know, sometimes I like the little bit of, because it mixes it up a little bit. You know, if everybody knew exactly what was going to happen every time, would I'll do the same thing. Yeah. So, but it definitely messes up people's races up at times. Sometimes it works out in your favor, though. Like, not yesterday.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Michigan was going to work out in your favor if you didn't get busted. Well, you got to try. Exactly, but that would have been, that had worked. I don't know what brought that caution out. But you know what I'm saying? Everyone, that could have put you on the front row or you were leading. Yeah. So, but yeah, it's just how it goes sometimes.
Starting point is 01:08:42 Well. Do you have a rant? Sounds like you're ranting about being at a race check every weekend in November. I wasn't complaining. I was just saying. how I want to start Christmas early. It sounded like you were complaining. It sounded a lot like complaining.
Starting point is 01:08:53 I mean, I'm not complaining. I don't have to go to the truck. I'm not complaining. But I don't want to go to the racetrack in November and December every weekend. Well, I just want to have the opportunity to put my Christmas stuff up early so I can celebrate. I told you how? Well, I'm going to. Oh, Chad.
Starting point is 01:09:07 I would never do that. I would never, ever, ever do that. You don't like Christmas? I love Christmas. Now is you Scrooge. I'll just. Yeah. That's like Colin.
Starting point is 01:09:18 You scrooge. The worst. All right. Well, I guess we'll see everyone and talk to everyone next week. Did we pick last week? Oh, yeah. No, picks are over. Picks are over.
Starting point is 01:09:28 You lost. Yeah, no, we just quit, though. All right, so who's your pick for Phoenix? Well, I would have won last week, so Brett would have to go further. If you have any fantasy advice, that's what Brett was doing last couple weeks. Fantasy advice. Should we put Bobo on my team? No.
Starting point is 01:09:47 I don't think so. No. Man, I don't know. Like, it's, you got to go with the, you got to go with the big three first. Yeah, this is Harvick's house. Yeah. Yeah, I definitely think, I think the 78 will be strong. I mean, it's, if you can prop bet on Ricky Stenhouse blowing turn one at one point, almost wrecking.
Starting point is 01:10:08 Yeah. Like, I felt so bad. So Mike Herman, his spotter is a good buddy of ours. So for, like, literally the last three years, he's gotten, like, locked the brakes up into turn one. one and wrecked. Even in practice. In practice. I'm talking about just practice.
Starting point is 01:10:24 And so, like, jokingly, the first race this year, Ricky leaves the garage, he comes down through three and four. So he's driving down turn one. And me and Lambert, Chris Lambert, we're like, like, shielding ourselves. And then he doesn't. Joking. So, no, he doesn't.
Starting point is 01:10:38 So he makes it through one and two. And we're high five and Herm, he goes down to the three and does it. Oh, that's right. I'm like, oh, God. Sorry, Error. That's right. I kind of remember that because you're only a couple people or you might be next to me. I'm next to you there.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Yeah. So, yeah, that's, I was, if I could say any, some lower guy, you know, I would say the six, 31, six is going to be Matt. Yeah, he's pretty good a short tracker and you get a late caution or so. And, you know, I think he's a sleeper one. He's good here. Alex Bowman was good here in his two races. Yeah, we should have won that one race.
Starting point is 01:11:17 You should have won no one race. Yeah. But we didn't. But, nope. Bummer. Guys like that. All right. Well, this one's in the book.
Starting point is 01:11:27 What we talk about? We're all doing them to the next two. Yep. Triple spotter to preview Miami and triple spotter to debrief after Miami. Perfect. So I guess I'll be back. Never leaving. Never leaving.
Starting point is 01:11:40 As long as Dillon doesn't bow down. As long as he doesn't bow down the Dill Jr. He's only number one. Hey, since Dill Jr. probably listens. We're recording at 9-ish the next two weekends, next two Mondays. So plan on that. So, yeah, donor. Make it happen.
Starting point is 01:11:59 Yeah, we're recording at 9-ish. You guys are so mean. He's going to come tackle you? We're the three best friends that anyone could have. Mr. Pansky. Okay. Do you let your spotter, your employees control you? No.
Starting point is 01:12:19 No. No. That's why you picked Austin Sindrake to win this week. I thought you had some pool here. I thought you had some pool here. God Lord, man. And next week, TJ is bringing Duncan, right? Breakfast.
Starting point is 01:12:35 Yeah, okay, good luck. That'll bring you better luck in the championship race. What the heck? You're complaining about everybody else. I'm not complaining. I think he's complaining. Stating facts. Whatever.
Starting point is 01:12:46 All right. Well, have a great week. Sorry, you brought Duncan without... The facts are you brought it. Coffee, just coffee. Yeah, they sell all their stuff. All right, thanks, everybody. One Main.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Have a great week. Yeah. Holla. Hala. See you. You've been listening to Door Bumper Clear, brought to you by One Main. For updates on Elliot Sadler
