Starting point is 00:01:06 Stop licking me! I thought that's what you brought him in for. That's our prop. Yeah, brings the table. I don't go to watch Chris Rabell three times a week. Awkward. All are so weird. Does that camera move the entire time?
Starting point is 00:01:17 I'm down. The dog can sit right here. That's weird. All right. Play it, Jason. Hey, guys. I'm Casey Boat and welcome to Door Bumper Clear. We have super sub Freddie Crafts in the house to break down Richmond with T.
Starting point is 00:01:34 And share the latest qualifying rumor. They'll also discuss Lugano not moving Turex to win, Jimmy Johnson running the Boston Marathon, best all-time NASCAR comebacks, and plenty more. Let's kick it. I'm pretty J. Majors. This is Brent Griffin. Get ready. Be ready. Be ready.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Be ready. Be ready. New leader. Oh, watch out for this guy. White flag. Recognize. Below. Clear.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Bring home. Three wide. Coming to the line. Door. Bumper. Clear. Hello, everyone. Yeah, welcome to the show.
Starting point is 00:02:14 I'm T.J. Majors, and Brett's thickened up a little bit today. Yeah. But he still has flip-lops off. But I've packed on a couple's hair turned black. Yeah, you got more of a beer than Brett's probably ever had. So, yeah, exciting weekend. How was your weekend with Clint? No weekend is ever good with Clint, I can promise you that.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Well, how was your weekend with Bill? Bubba. Not much better. Yeah. Did you have the Xfinity race? I did have the Xenna race had Garrett Smithley. He kind of an underfunded deal. He had to run a mile and a half car at Richmond, so we kind of had to keep from scratching it and survive all right. I think Garrett does a pretty good job for the most part. He does. He does a really good job. A lot of people don't realize, you know, if they don't have a sponsor on the car,
Starting point is 00:03:01 they don't have tires, they're running 10, 20 laps scuffs. So, you know, he does a good job for what he's doing. Garrett's on my list of guys that I would like to see getting some better equipment, even if it's only for two, three races and just see what he can do. Like a Ross. Like when Ross had his opportunity. Garrett got in that 42 truck, which is still not great equipment. Yeah, I thought he ran. Yeah. He ran top 10 out of the night. So, yeah. He does a good job with what he's got in front of him. Yeah, I'd like to see him. I'd like to see him get an opportunity and some faster equipment though. But your weekend?
Starting point is 00:03:27 It was Richmond. It was raining. It didn't rain the race out, though. It only rained a little bit. I mean, if I had a dollar for every time somebody said, they're going to call it, they're going to call it, and tell me to set up Vigman. tree lean i would be rich right now it was uh so the route you know the the tower goes around asking the spotter official to go around asking us how it looks and we had to get to lap 150 for the race to be official so from lap 125 to 150 the track was great no matter how hard it rained 151 it was wet as hell no can't go throw to checker yeah that's uh i was surprised yeah i'm surprised you got it in and i'm not sure it rained saturday morning as well so it the the makeup was
Starting point is 00:04:08 Saturday morning at 11. Stop! I have a, I brought one of our dogs today, and it's a 20-pound, um, what is he? A miniature golden doodle? Yeah, and he's in there. He left them in here with me. He's wreaking havoc on the soundboard right now.
Starting point is 00:04:28 I mean, this sounds weird. It's the dog's fault. He's going to take Jason for a walk after the show. But, um, yeah. Hey, Jason's walking now, by the way. I saw that. I mean, barely. We're going to, the show's going to end in here.
Starting point is 00:04:40 he's going to come out of there and Kyle, Jason's going to be on the leash and Kyle's going to be walking. If he's bad, just let him out here. Okay, he's, no, he's fine. He's bad because he's not going to do anything, but he'll just lay right here. He gets separation anxiety when he can't see him. You can let him out. You should just hold him in your lap.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Yeah, just put him in your lap. So you hear any weird noises out of the sound booth today. I also brought, it's spring break week. Spring break week for my daughter, Mal. So she is in there. I brought her today because Brett's not here and there's not going to be cussing. So she won't hear you got on here. No cussing.
Starting point is 00:05:20 And she's eyeballing me right now. So, yeah. Are you thinking it's going to rain in the studio that you're wearing your rain jacket right now? So it was colder than I thought this morning. It was way colder than I thought. So, yeah, I put my jacket on. I got, I've had a really busy morning between,
Starting point is 00:05:38 do I tell the urgent care? story? Do I? Yes, please do. Wait a minute. Hold on. I'm moved my chair. Oh, I'm not sick. Oh, trust me. We got bit by something or someone.
Starting point is 00:05:47 So we get to Richmond on Thursday and I go to bed. I'm like, man, my leg hurts a little bit. And I look at it. I'm like, oh, okay, well, I must have been a little bit or something. It wasn't bad. It was just annoying a little bit. So as I wake up Friday, my, like, leg is. Holy sugar.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Hey, yeah. Hey, yeah. So, yeah. And I let it go on. It was a hurt pretty good because it was. swelled up and it hurt pretty good Friday and Saturday and yesterday I'm kind of like oh you know it doesn't really got any better yet so I went went to go to the urgent care last night and they all closed at like eight this is it's like 758 I'm like oh this is and my leg's gonna fall off yeah I might
Starting point is 00:06:27 wake up you know and not have a leg tomorrow but so I woke up and went and that's all it is little antibiotic and it'll go away I guess spider bite or something I guess they're not 100% sure so it might be contagious touch it no I'm all If it gets any bigger, I'm going to start feeding it and stuff. It gets any bears away my legs. Did they know, like, what kind of spider? I mean, where were you that? No, it wasn't like a brown recluse or anything like that because that like deteriorates, I guess, the skin from the underneath side.
Starting point is 00:06:53 It's nothing like that. It's just swelled up. It hurts, too. So anyway. That looks like fun. Yeah. But Richmond was fun. I thought Richmond was pretty good.
Starting point is 00:07:02 We'll cover most of the topics here shortly. So I want to elaborate too much on it. Brett's off this week, having a little procedure done himself. Yeah. They're installing a filter in his brain finally. So finally, you know, what he thinks doesn't immediately come out of his mouth. And they're going to fix some of those crazy thoughts that he has. So, yeah, we're all looking forward to that.
Starting point is 00:07:23 That ought to be great. Rob up, Brett. He's going to come back. He's actually going right now. I wish we could. I wish it was ending and he was all medded up here. That's what I really was. I tagged him last night to see what time he was getting like the anesthesia.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Yeah. And I was going to call him right then. but it was right before we went on. That would be really good. If he called him right now, he could be in a great mate. I think what's he doing? He's getting some work done on his shoulder or something like that. I mean, I'm happier than anybody because for two years he's been complaining about his shoulder hurting.
Starting point is 00:07:53 So, God, I hope they fix it. Well, it's not going to stop him from complaining, that's for sure. It'll just be something different. Yeah, it'll just be something else. So anyway, all right, well, let's move on with it. So we'll go spot on spot on spot off it. Sure. Spot on spot on spot off.
Starting point is 00:08:09 He's spot off. That's a spot off. That's bullshit. Oh, and you like it, spot off, you don't like it, and you say why either way. First topic, this one is for you, T.J. Lugano doesn't move Truex for the win. Spot on, spot off. Spot on.
Starting point is 00:08:27 I don't think it was the right time yet. You know, we've got a win already. We're not under pressure. Martin doesn't have a win, so I think it's a bad time to get involved in something like that. Like, you know, I would have been, I would have been perfectly fine if we were leading the race. you know, Martin caught us and he was better than us, and he moved us a little bit. That's short track racing to me. So, you know, I can't, you know, you're not going to like it, but I'm not going to be mad at it.
Starting point is 00:08:52 You know, I'm not going to say, oh, you can't race like that. That's just short tracking to me. I've watched videos on Twitter and Instagram all week of old races there. And all it is is people moving each other, like the last two weeks, all you see is people moving each other at Bristol and then moving each other at Richmond to get the lead. So, I mean... Martinsville last year. Yeah. Well, that's, you know, you go to a situation like Martinsville last year.
Starting point is 00:09:19 That, you win right there. You're going to Homestead. I won you a championship. Yeah, it won the championship for us. And there's a lot on the line right there. And I don't agree with wrecking somebody. Like I said then, I don't agree with just going on there and taking him out and ruining his complete race. He still finished second.
Starting point is 00:09:33 So, um, that's just good short-tracking to me. Yeah, spot off on the fact that, you know, I didn't think you were too clean. You know what I mean? Like, you don't have to go in there. like you did Martin's villain just completely boot him out of the way. Yeah. But you could have, you know, maybe got in there and touched him or, you know, roughed him a little bit to where, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:50 not true X is going to make the chase. So you're not going to keep him out of the chase. But, you know, then playoff points could make a difference come, you know, Phoenix. Or, yeah, Phoenix this year. So, you know, just stuff like that where you could kind of prevent him from getting back to you later. But do you think... We need more time, honestly. Yeah, you need to get around.
Starting point is 00:10:08 That was the first corner we got there was the one. Was the last one. And we weren't even. all the way really there yet. You would have had to kind of drive in pretty deep. We needed another lap. Do you think if you didn't have a win, would you have moved him? I still think we need a lot to do it right.
Starting point is 00:10:22 If you're going to do it from where we were, I think you wreck him. I think you wreck him. Just launch it in there. Yeah, we needed another lap to really get onto his bumper right down into the corner. He ran a completely different line that what he had been running to be defensive of it and stuff. But if you catch him and there's two or three to go, he's going to run a normal corner one of them time so you're going to be there yeah i think it's easier to do and you know i'm not saying you might be able to get beside him and open the wheel up a little bit and and there's other ways to do
Starting point is 00:10:53 it too yeah i think the situation dictated what happened i think if that's the playoffs or that's the you know that's the playoff you know so that that day is probably the the cleaner move was to do it but i think you still oh i know you want the controversy i want some little you know yeah you want to see i want to see you guys wrecked each other you want to get the 19 almost wrecked me last week so i was hoping you booted him out of the way he wants to get to the air you want to get to the air you Airplane and scroll Twitter and to see that all the drama have fun folding and stuff. Second topic. Only two organizations have one in the first nine races.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Organizations. Organizations. I hear you. Let's redo this one. Organizations have one in the first nine. You can just go on because it's not leaving. You is ever. I hate you guys.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Spot on, spot off, Freddie. I think you have to spot off just for the sports. you know, sake. Yeah, I didn't imagine that. You obviously want, I feel like this is doing the exact opposite of what they want with this package. You know, they tried to make this package to where it make more teams more competitive. And I think you're seeing probably the two best funded teams in NASCAR win these races. Stuart Haas is right there with them and probably just as fast. Like the 22 and 14, I think I've been the two fastest cars the last two weeks. So that's probably good for this show. But hopefully they get into a fight later on through the year. But I just think you're seeing a product of teams that can put more time into wind tunnel testing, more time resources into little gains that are making them that much better now because Penske and Gibbs are really just beating up on everybody. I'm spot on. Obviously.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Yeah. I have seen more teams in contention, I feel like, though. Like, I've seen teams closer. They haven't got the win, but I've seen the 19 hasn't been nearly as strong as what I feel the 78 would have been. the 78 dominated a lot of mile and a half. He hasn't been quite as strong. Denny's been stronger this year, but sometimes he starts the season off pretty hot.
Starting point is 00:12:50 He can be like that. So I've seen the three run pretty good. The 13's been better this year. 37's been pretty competitive here recently. They're better than they've been, but they're not in contention for rain. You're definitely not seeing the, okay, you're not watching the 13 drive by everyone.
Starting point is 00:13:06 You know what I mean? You're not seeing that, but I don't, I feel like you're closer, that you're seeing guys have better runs that normally wouldn't. But, you know, it's definitely still, you can tell who's done their homework. And honestly, this driving package,
Starting point is 00:13:20 the new packages, is at the short tracks, I feel like you see the same guys kind of rise to the top most of the time. I saw Kyle, you know, you always see the same guys of short tracks get pretty good, I think. But the mile and a half,
Starting point is 00:13:32 so it's just a different game. It's a way different feel. And the guys that are used to the, getting strung out and then going to work and then going to work and finding the speed. It's just different now. You got to have a pool. You got you got to be way more aggressive at times.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Yeah. And it doesn't fit their style that much. One of the things I've noticed this year versus last year, just my team in particular, the one zipping. I promise that's his jacket. I swear to God. But so like just my team in particular. Look at this bite.
Starting point is 00:14:03 You've made, you've made. I was going to say, I'm not doing it. But you've made Arrow more of a factor at the short tracks to where last year I felt like we could run better. My team in particular, the driver made more of a difference. You know, Bubba got up and led some laps at Bristol last year the first race. You saying Bubba laid down? No, I'm saying our car, like, our car can't do that this year. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:14:31 The car is, you're a little more dependent on the car here. That's the first Richmond race I noticed where Arrow was more of a factor. than ever before. If you were first and second could drive away in clean air, but as soon as they caught the back of the field, that's what kind of what allowed us to catch up. Well, that's what I was saying.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Like the end of the race, Clinton was way better than Martin, but once he got to one or two back of them, he couldn't do nothing, and then you guys got there and kind of... So when you're in clean air, like when the floor was fourth there at the end, he was catching all of us, but we were all in each other's dirty air.
Starting point is 00:14:59 There was a straightaway clear behind us when the four was running all... He was running some great lap times, but once he got within about five, six car lengths, he kind of stalled out. You know, when I saw his lap times, I was like, oh, man, this is going to be a four-car race here in a minute. And he kind of stalled out as he got closer as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Topic everybody's been talking about. Rumor that qualifying will become single car everywhere except for road courses. Spot on, spot off, Freddie. Spot on. Wow. It's actually, be honest, it's spot off of my team because speed-wise. You've had some good stars because of that. We've actually qualified pretty well.
Starting point is 00:15:35 We started 10th of Texas. we had some better qualifying efforts than we had last year, and now going to single car based strictly on speed, we're probably going to be looking 25th to 30th range almost every week, and then hopefully we can race a little better. But I was surprised. We kind of all thought, we told them last year that they were going to have to do this on a mile and a half, so I was a little surprised they did it at the short tracks,
Starting point is 00:15:55 or getting ready to do with the short tracks, we think. So I'd be surprised at that. But again, we've talked about how you wanted this man-vers machine moment, and that's where it's going to show up as a short track. because a mile and a half that's going to be wide open, just steer it. The short tracks,
Starting point is 00:16:09 they're going to have to drive them a little bit. So that'll be a little more interesting. Yeah, I'm spot off. I've kind of enjoyed. It's been a, it's been entertaining. And it's been, it's hard on the spotters,
Starting point is 00:16:19 I'll tell you that. And it's hard on the driver and spotter to get yourself out there where you supposedly want to be. It's a challenge, but I enjoy the challenge. It's something you have to have pretty good numbers on when you can take off
Starting point is 00:16:34 and do all this stuff. and it kind of turns into a... You really got to adjust a lot on the fly, like when guys are rolling and when you need to roll and stuff like that. But I've kind of enjoyed it. I think the main issue is, like you said, it's interesting for us
Starting point is 00:16:48 because we're more involved now. We have to tell, you know, you've got to go now. Like you can't messing around. Yeah. This is our drop-did time, you know, you got to go. But the problem, I think, is the fans don't... Like, they've changed the rules so much just this year alone that a lot of times
Starting point is 00:17:01 the fans don't even know what the hell's going on. What I don't understand is when we first started doing this group qualifying. What was the first round time limit? When we first started was 20 minutes, I believe. How many people win the first five? Nobody. Nobody. Nobody. So we're doing the same thing. I feel like we're chasing. I feel like no matter what
Starting point is 00:17:22 we're not going to make people happy right here. Because when we first started it, nobody sat down to the grandstands yelling, go, go, go, when you make it 10 minutes, you know, and nobody really wants to go because, you know, nobody wants to go in the the first 20 minute because there's a, the track's not as good or something. There's still the same. It's the old saying, Missouri Breeds Company. You have one person, a couple people that get, you know, on the bandwagon.
Starting point is 00:17:43 This is terrible. They're just sitting there doing nothing. I mean, the mob joins in. And now it's terrible. I would rather have it, you know, okay, here's 10 minutes, you know. I would rather know, like, okay, man, I got time to get a quick drink right here. I'm going to sit here for five, six minutes. Then it's going to be interesting what happens.
Starting point is 00:17:58 It's exciting. And this week, you know, they made it five minutes, obviously. And they didn't fix anything. We all went out first because. because the track was the best when it went green, you know? So, I mean, if that was Bristol, they still would have sat down there and waited to the last minute. You know, a lot of guys would have done that. So, you know, they didn't really fix anything this week.
Starting point is 00:18:15 I don't really know. Five minutes is a little much for 40 cars to try to qualify. Yeah. But, I mean, you got guys. But at Bristol, everybody sat there until five minutes left. Larsson was the first car to fire off. I followed them off, and it was like 5-10. I feel like when you do a 5, though, there's just more pressure.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Somebody gets antsy, you know, at least when you do the 10 minutes or, you know, right around there. You get the four or five, six cars that are just going to go and run because they're not sure what they're going to have anyway. They don't want to get involved in all the other stuff. Well, that's the big thing about the five minutes is when it was 10 minutes, the guys that are going to qualify 30th to 36. They would run.
Starting point is 00:18:50 They would run and get them out of the way. Now you're trying to mix them in with guys. That's what I'm saying. You weed out a few of them that aren't comfortable being in anyway. Yeah. When's a single car going to start? Talladega? Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:03 It will definitely start Taledega. I guess they obviously haven't announced anything. The rumor is we keep hearing is they're going to go everywhere. So I'd imagine Dover is that's Taldaiga or Kansas. Yeah, Dover. So we'll see if they go there for Dover. That'll be a shame. I'd really enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Not me. Jimmy Johnson is currently running the Boston Marathon as we podcasts. We're just sitting here doing nothing and he's running. Meanwhile, Jimmy's just burning calories right now. Spot on, spot off, DJ. Spot on. That's awesome for him. He's obviously trained for it.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And there's no doubt in my mind that he will finish well in this. And Jimmy's an animal when it comes to doing all this stuff. But I think it's cool that he's doing it. And they're kind of following it, I think, today as well. So it should be pretty cool. I saw his number was 48, 48. That's a coincidence, I guess. Yeah, no, man.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Can you believe that? Can you believe that? But now, spot on for Jimmy. That's pretty awesome. Spot off. I mean, gosh, just borrow one of Brett's blinds. What an idiot. I mean, what's he thinking of it?
Starting point is 00:20:03 He said he's going to try and run under three hours. Who wants to run for three hours? God, we went... I'm not like if I can sleep three hours straight. We... A little run. So last year, a bunch of us spotters, there's like 10 of us that Tyler Green and Brett kind of led the way,
Starting point is 00:20:18 and they wanted to run a 5K. So then they start jumping on me to run it. So I'm like, man, I don't know if you got to go look at me lately, but I'm not a big runner. So we actually trained and we started running it. And so it was in Kansas the morning of the night race. So there were a... Half marathon and a 5K.
Starting point is 00:20:35 This is one where Herschman hurt his knee. Yeah, we both did. Herschman was real bad, though. I kind of was smart enough. Hirschman was too dumb. He hurt his knee and kept running the whole time. With like a mile left, I heard my knee, and I'm like, I'm done. So I start walking.
Starting point is 00:20:47 So I get like a tenth of a mile from the finish line. And I hear like, everybody's done. Like Brett and M had come back to walk with me a little bit. So like, I'm like just, yeah, I'm just going to finish. I'm not going to quit. So I'm walking. And next thing I know, I hear like sirens. And I'm like, what the hell is going on?
Starting point is 00:21:03 The end of it. It's the half marathon coming. Oh, yeah. So I'm like, oh, man. So now I'm like, I can't go any faster. My knees killing me. So I kind of scamper across the line. Well, as I'm scamper across the line, here comes a dude to finish is the half marathon.
Starting point is 00:21:14 So it's like him, me, picture. So there's an announcer and he's like, oh, yeah, you know, he's got all the bib numbers and everybody's name. So it was funny because, you know, he's like, and here's, T.J. Major just wins the half marathon. And here's Freddie Craft from Moorsville, North Carolina. So Brett's like, that's great. You finished second and a half marathon today. Hell of a job. Did you get a pitcher of that?
Starting point is 00:21:32 Yeah. Oh, I've got it somewhere. We've got it somewhere. There's a bunch of good pictures of that of that. That was the first and probably last time I'll ever try something stupid like that. The next day on the roof. No, it was that night. It was Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:21:45 Oh, yeah, that's right. So on the roof for the race, you should see these guys. Tony Hirsch was up there, and he can't even barely stand up. He is hurting, and Freddie's down there hurting, and like half the guys are okay and half the guys are about dead. Yeah. That was one of the dead ones for sure. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:01 We need to do that again. No, we don't. Ever. We'll record it. A couple of them did it at Daytona. Doug and Tyler did like that. There's a half marathon. Yeah, good for them.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Yeah. Great for them. Yeah. I'm getting updates on Jimmy's marathon status, and he's at the half marathon right now as of 12.12 p.m. on Monday. He's ran one hour and 31 minutes with a 6.59. Pick it up. So he's right there. Yeah, right at a half.
Starting point is 00:22:30 saving his tires for the end. Yeah. After this, I'm going to go stuff my face of food. Obviously, you're going to get Chick-fil-A. Your phone's been going on. It's all catering orders. Not Chick-fil-A. I'm on a diet.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Well, let's take a break and see what's coming up on the Dale Junior Download this week. The Dale Junior Day. Listen up. When you're done listening to Door Bumper Clear, go listen and subscribe to my podcast, The Dale Junior Download. This week, we try not to get too crazy.
Starting point is 00:22:59 That'll be tough, though, because it's Clint Boyer in the house. Plus, catch us on TV Tuesday, 5 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. The Dale Jr. Down, available on major podcast platforms. The Dell Jr. Down, Dirtymo. And we are back. We'll head in the fast lane. I'll give these guys three topics pertaining to racing and one that is off the wall. They'll have 30 seconds to respond to each. First question.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Lugano was upset when Kislauski held him up briefly in the final 100 laps. Saturday night. Do you instruct your driver any differently when you want a teammate or an alliance car is quicker and closing in. DJ? Yeah, I think, you know, it wasn't, I think there's a time to race like that. And there's, you know, if you're racing for the lead, absolutely, you're going to race, you're going to do everything you can to keep the lead. I think, you know, there's a point where if you still got to make a pit stop and there's still a little ways, there's a hundred last left when we started racing like this. And I don't know, I would, if, if I'm, if I'm, if I'm, if I'm, if I'm
Starting point is 00:24:01 If I lost lead to a guy already and my teammate catches me and he's a little faster, I'm probably going to let him go take a shot at it, you know, rather than move around a bunch and try to hold him up so someone else gets around him. I mean, you always try to help your teammates out, I feel. Yeah, and this kind of went back to where we were talking about how it was hard to pass. You had to be way better than the guy in front of him to get around him unless he kind of cut you a break. But like you said, it's not even so much teammates. Like if somebody is catching you that's faster than you, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:27 you kind of try to be like, hey, man, this guy just running down from half straightaway back straight away back in two laps, you know, kind of cut him a break. Our case, like, a lot of times the leader's catching us. So, like, sometimes it benefits me to try to hold the leader up and keep him from getting to the next guy, so maybe we can get the lucky dog. Or it sometimes benefits us to let the leader go as soon as we can and hope he goes up there and laps five more guys. So that's five more guys on our lap.
Starting point is 00:24:48 So you just got to just, it's kind of situational basis where you kind of feel it out to where you need to know if you need to let that guy go or try to hold him back. You know, a hundred a hundred to go at Richmond is not that much. You know, there's not that much to go in race, but if you still have to make a pit stop and it's your teammate, I feel like I would give him a shot at going and getting the leader. Like you guys said, though, when the leader starts getting to be about a straightaway back,
Starting point is 00:25:12 you got to get all you can get. You never know when that caution is going to fall or things are going to work out right. So you really have to race pretty hard and get everything you can. After seeing Tiger Woods win the Masters on Sunday, which driver has made the best comeback in NASCAR history? I love that Masters tournament yesterday. I don't know about you. Yeah, it was pretty awesome.
Starting point is 00:25:33 More reasons than one for me, by the way. I know, yeah. I do. I do. So I thought about it last night. I'm probably leaving some people out, but I think probably Ernie Irvin is the one that came to mind for me last night when he wrecked at Michigan in practice in the 28 car. And, I mean, they were talking, like, stuff I read, he said he had a 10% chance of surviving that wreck. And then to come back, not the next year, but, you know, the same thing.
Starting point is 00:25:59 the year after in, I think he was 94 he wrecked or 95, and then 96 he came back in one races and contended for championships again. So I think that would probably be, you know, same kind of deal as Tiger, like coming back from an injury to perform. How do I, it be hard for me to, and Jason's going to love this. I know you're going to say this. It'd be hard for me to not to overlook, you know, Kyle wrecking at Daytona. Obviously, in the old system, the old point system, he'd have been done for that year. So they give him the, the hall pass or whatever they,
Starting point is 00:26:29 They were calling it them, and, you know, he wins championship that year, which is, I don't know, but I think one that really stands out to me is when Biggie got hurt and a wreck and came back and qualified at Watkins Glen instead of track record and got the pole. So that would be, was it broke collarbone and stuff like that? That's pretty tough, man, to get in a car, and especially somewhere like the Glen where there's back and forth so much and to set a track record that day. Yeah, one of my personal favorites was actually a guy that was on the junior download a couple weeks ago, Steve Park. I literally grew up five minutes from Steve Park.
Starting point is 00:27:08 He was my favorite driver growing up, so he got that bad wreck at Darlington with Larry Foyt and was out of the car. Wasn't the same for a long time and lost his ride in one car and came back and won a truck race the next year in Brendan Gondstuff. And that was a big deal for guys like me. Like I was still a pretty young kid at the time. And, you know, it was a big deal for us just watching him come back. Talidea's cup car engine package will have 100 plus more horsepower than with the restrictor plate package. How will the added horsepower impact racing? T.J. Oh, man. I don't know 100%.
Starting point is 00:27:44 I don't think anybody knows how it's really going to do until you get out there and do it. I know it's more horsepower and more drag. So that's, to me, that creates more of a slingshot at some point. Yeah, that's, I think you're going to be able to get big. runs, faster runs, and you're going to be, I mean, more horsepower, more drag. Yeah. Yeah, from what I understand, they tested the day after the 500, and they were going a lot faster than what they were comfortable with.
Starting point is 00:28:12 So they've made some arrow changes to make the cars more draggy, kind of slow them down a little bit. So like TJ said, they'll probably punch a little bigger hole. We'll be able to get better runs and kind of bigger slingshots. You know, I don't know, it's probably not going to affect the racing a whole lot, I don't think. I think you're going to see really similar to what you've seen. We're not going a whole lot faster. And if we do, they'll probably do more at the race to slow us down again because they really don't want us going very fast.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Off the wall question. Since it's the off week, pretend you can travel anywhere in the world. What place tops your travel bucket list? Freddie? I'd say probably Ireland. Anybody who knows me knows St. Patrick's Day's like Christmas. You want to kiss that rock, don't you? Yeah, kicks the Blarnie Stone.
Starting point is 00:28:54 But yeah, I'd say Ireland for sure. Anywhere you can get cold beer and drink like an idiot and listen to an Irish accent all. day is probably good with me. I'd like to go to Iceland. Iceland looks like it'd be a cool play. Iceland's the one that's not made of ice, right? Iceland's green. Yeah, ice is green and Greenland's ice.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Yeah, that's somebody named to them correctly. But no, this is not where that has that lagoon. Yeah, it's like, uh, yeah. There's a couple, like, recti, regchiv, or whatever. Yeah, you're, oh, it's close. Something like that. It's Rechievic or something like that. And I'd like to go up there and check that place out.
Starting point is 00:29:28 But would you kiss that? If you went to Ireland, would you kiss it? I don't know. Do you know how many lips touch that thing? I'm not worried about lips, to be honest with you. What are you worried about? What are you trying to say? Like I said, they drink all day in Ireland.
Starting point is 00:29:43 So you're saying someone may have. I'm saying somebody, it's a distinct possibility. We were last year, I remember it was last year or not, but we were at Myrtle Beach. And we're real close to Ireland. Well, I'm just saying, this is kind of on the same topic. Me, Brett and our wives and a couple other people, we went. to this resort kind of deal and we're all in the pool all day and I'm like is it not odd that we've all been drinking and nobody's ever gotten out of this pool for the day like I'm getting out
Starting point is 00:30:09 I'm out of it has that has that color stuff ever existed I don't think just in that one movie with Adam Sandler or whatever yeah grown-ups yeah does that have that because you're always but you're always check you've thought about it you know dang well you've thought about it when you got in a pool and wait a minute does that that stuff in here where it turns color you know you've thought about it right oh I've definitely thought about it yeah I've actually, you know, just... So what do you say, and you didn't get out? Oh, no, I didn't knock it out.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Are you just contributing to the warmth of the pool? Yeah. That's great. With the other 200 people. Oh, whatever. No? Oh, whatever. No.
Starting point is 00:30:45 You are so full of it. No. Not even as a kid, you never have. I mean, not that I can recall. Oh, my way. Definitely not as an adult. Yeah, I mean, either. So we're in this pool, right?
Starting point is 00:30:55 And this is going to be bad. This is terrible. But hopefully nobody's eating, right, as we do. do this. But so, um, there's a, there's a group of people. I'm telling, there's a hundred people in this pool easily. And there's a swim up bar. So they were like in this little cove thing. So this girl, that's what I'm not watching. Megan is watching this girl. So she's, they've been like, they're hammered drunk. They've been in the middle of the pool dancing. So next thing, I'm not paying attention. I'm talking to bread or something. So I see Megan's like,
Starting point is 00:31:24 oh, oh, God. I'm like, somebody's thrown up behind me. It's not. So I turn around. I'm, no, I'm like, what happened? Megan's like, that girl just kind of fell, stumbled. Her whole cup went underwater. She was drinking something clear. I don't know, vodka or something. Her whole cup went underwater. She didn't notice it and just kept drinking. And I'm like, oh, my God. That's it. I'm done. Now I'm trying for the day. I mean, it could have been worse than that. It's chlorinated? I don't know. So the swim-up urinal. The swim-up urinal, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:55 The case is never used. Close, just for you know. I want to ask Casey where we want to travel first. Yeah, where you want to go? So we're supposed to go on our real honeymoon to Greece. That's where I've been wanting to go forever. You had a fake honeymoon and then a real one? Yeah, well.
Starting point is 00:32:11 God, I hope Megan's not listening. Oh, kidding. So you're double dipping? We're not, though. We're not. We're, because of the season starting in Chad had a race like the next weekend. Christopher's not off then. He's a race right after.
Starting point is 00:32:24 They started the season in like February. We couldn't go anywhere too far, so we just went to Turks and Caicos, which is a great honeymoon. Don't get around. That sucks. Oh, that sucks. No, don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Oh, my gosh. I really want to like... It's not a real honeymoon. I knew your favorite. Are you serious? No, but I... Turks and Caicos is a great honeymoon. It is.
Starting point is 00:32:46 It was incredible. We're going there on a cruise. I think going on a real honeymoon. I want to go to Greece. I knew I shouldn't accept it. All I was seeing is that if I had more time, I would love to go to Greece. You're being very needy, right?
Starting point is 00:32:57 now. Fine. I'll be needed if I want to. I spend every weekend on the racetrack. Fine, Chad. I'll go to Turs and Kekos, but we're still going to Greece.
Starting point is 00:33:06 I wanted to go to Turks and Kekos, but originally, like, the plan was Greece. I think Bell's getting married soon, ain't you? Maybe you guys can double honeymoon together. Get the real one out of the way. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Ask DBC. Wait, Jason, where do you want to go? Hawaii, I think. Hawaii. Oh, wow. Yeah. How about? I've never been there.
Starting point is 00:33:25 I just want to take pictures go up hiking. all those mountains and Google him. Call Bubba. He's got like 4,000 pictures of him. Really? Kylo and I will go hiking. I don't really.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Kyle. Kyle. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. No, he's got, yeah. Kylo is my dog in there.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Yeah. Yeah, Kylo would love to go hiking with you in Hawaii. All right. So if you need an emotional support dog on the plane, if you need an emotional, if you need an emotional support owner, T. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just going to send Kyle with Jason on that Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:33:53 I've been to Hawaii. It's okay. I like it. It's awesome. Yeah. Ask DBC. First question, Big Dog 13 asks. Double G.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Big Big, G, dog, dog, double G. That's pretty awesome. That's a lot of G's. Yeah. Yeah. Do you think Larson is snake bit this year? Last year, it seems he always was always near the top. This year, not the case.
Starting point is 00:34:19 What do you guys think, Freddie? I think this package has honestly hurt Larson a little more than anybody else. like out of anything I think his car control is where he stands out you know you see him get up there and run the lip a lot of times and this package you really it's not really an option like it's kind of wide open there's not much off throttle time where I thought he excelled he's definitely got no luck on his side right now every time I look up he's got a flat or loose wheel or something you know has gone wrong to put him behind the eight ball but I just think this package has affected him a lot more than maybe some other guys yeah he doesn't have any luck this year his teammates running pretty solid You know, I think when we get to places where you can move around, we really haven't had many places where you can move a whole lot yet. The only place we went that you can move around was Atlanta, and he was pretty good there until he had a penalty or something to put him back in the pack. Yeah, so, I mean, I expect Kyle to pick up some pace and momentum as we go on.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah, for sure. This question is from Smackman 88. What has made you the maddest on the roof before, TJ? Oh, man. The maddest I've ever been on the roof. Hmm. I mean, I got mad at Brett one time. Elliot and...
Starting point is 00:35:35 One time? Well, more than once, but one time specifically, was a Loudoun and Regan and Elliot had a run in. And, you know, there's, it, it's, Regan definitely got into him a little bit. but you know it's not like I'm driving the car you know and and I don't know
Starting point is 00:35:58 you're just you get mad when some people sometimes you know when when your car hits another car it's not like you told him to go in there and wreck the guy or something like that I mean I have sometimes well you know it's not like I was like hey Regan go turn you know you need to wreck him they're racing hard they got together and that was it
Starting point is 00:36:14 he had no intentions of actually wrecking him yeah I don't think I've ever I don't really get mad like I don't like you said it's not the spotter's fault but when I get mad at herm last year at Daytona? When I get mad at Daytona? Didn't everybody get in line with her? I was probably trying to knock people with all of hers back.
Starting point is 00:36:28 But I think like you said, I get more mad at people that come down to talk to me about something. Like I don't get randomly mad. You know, like I'm not going to fight about it. Maybe back when I was younger, I'd fight about some modified stuff. But nowadays, like, it is what it is. Like Bubbo be like, oh, tell him this. And I'm, no, all right, whatever.
Starting point is 00:36:45 On my way. Yeah. But the maddest I was was, was you remember? Also at Brett? No, I wasn't Brent. Do you remember me getting wrecked on Pit Road in the Xfinity race that year when the guy was turning the garage and drove it. It was like, I think it was Atlanta. So we're coming down.
Starting point is 00:37:01 There's a guy parked on pit road. There's a back marker Xfinity car. I'm spotting for Bubba. And we're coming down pit road. And I said, just watch this guy's out by the grass. I don't know what he's doing, but he's been sitting there. So we're fine. You're 10 away.
Starting point is 00:37:12 So our spotter's cue is 10 away. You're off the radio. So as we're coming now, we're like five away. This guy decides, oh, I'm going to hang a left and go in the garage. Well, he teabones us. Rex our car, wrecks his car. I mean, I think we finished the race. Who is spotter?
Starting point is 00:37:27 His spotter, who shall remain nameless. Come on. Is he still up there today? Kind of. Part-time. It's an older guy. Dan. You know, Dan?
Starting point is 00:37:35 If I don't listen to Dan radio. So, Dan is two people down from me. And I am irate. Like, but I'm not, I'm like, it's Dan. He didn't know any better. Like, he's a nice guy. Like, I'm not going to, I'm not going to say nothing to this guy. So I'm just tunnel vision out on the racetrack, waiting for my car to get fixed to come back out and says,
Starting point is 00:37:57 Ready, go tell him what you're doing? So now it gets worse than that. So Dan, it's Herm in the middle of us. Thank God. So Dan leans over across Herman and says to me, he taps me on show and goes, hey, Freddie, what was your guy thinking? Oh, yeah. I lost my mind. I tried to kill him.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Herm grabbed me. I was going to kill him. I was going to throw him off the roof, I think, at that point. But I was so mad inside. And I'm like, I'm not going to say nothing. Dan's a nice guy. Dan's a nice guy. Don't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:38:22 He's like, hey, Freddie, what was your guy doing? I'm like, what that's? Yeah. Luckily, Maddie's here. I'm not going to tell you exactly what I said, but it got pretty. Herm's pulling me off the top of him. Herm probably saved Dan's life. Kylo, down.
Starting point is 00:38:33 But, Kyle, get off. Kyle, get off me. But yeah, that was the maddest I've ever been. Kyle out. Down. He was on the truck. This is great. We need a dog everybody here.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Oh, my gosh. Okay, last question. E. Brill, WX. That's weather. Oh, it's time for weather, you know. I know, but it was just the way it was. Did you really know? Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:55 Okay, I'm just checking. Oh, Eric Breiland. I think I know this guy. Someone comes up to you and wants you to design a new I-Rock series. What drivers and tracks would you have in it? And Freddie, a figure race at Riverhead is allowed. Figure eight race. Jason, Jason left a number out for you.
Starting point is 00:39:14 Oh, so it's not my fault. Sorry. Way to go, Jace. Sorry. Sorry. I just read it. Sorry. I'm prepared that one.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Sorry, figure eight race. I don't know what was wrong with the cars they had. No, there was not the wrong with it. What were those Pontiacs or something? Yeah, they were, yeah. I would probably make it a compact car of some sort, like a, Kylo. That was in the shop.
Starting point is 00:39:35 I thought Jason was playing that. I would maybe make it some sort of compact car, like a goodies, dash of his car. You know, we're like sunfires and stuff like that. and one where you could just put like a V6 in it and just put a huge blade across the top of it. Like we used to, like they used to, yeah, just keep them all packed up and just kill each other. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:57 And I would run, I would run short tracks. I'd run a couple short tracks. I'd run like an IRP or something like that. And I would run, I don't know if I leave Daytona or Teladiga. Just go there. Big runs, everything. Who would you put in it? I would go get top five of everybody.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Yeah, I'd go get all the chance. from the series, man, like they used to. I mean, it was entertaining when Paul Tracy would come and get into an IROC car. You never knew what was going to happen. Guys like that, like, why not? Kenny Bernstein, like you had guys out there that didn't belong anywhere near the Overtra. I would invite, and I would try to schedule it. I would invite guys from other series, even across in Europe and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:40:34 I would find that touring series they got over there, the GT, whatever else. I don't know what it is, something like that. I'd go get the V8 supercar guys, a couple of them guys, put them in it. Why not? I'd even go down and get, you know, get your damn modified champion, get your K&M champion. Yeah, go ahead and get the national champion. The national late mile champion and something like that. I would go get all these champions and have about 12 of these cars and run the heck out of them.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Yeah, and like you said, I'd go, you know, I'd probably not go anything bigger than a mile. Just let them. Yeah, I don't know if you. Well, I mean, I wouldn't mind going to do one time. Daytona was pretty exciting. It was pretty exciting. But, I mean, you can go to even shorter tree. You know, go to Dan Bowman Gray, let them beat up on each other over there.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I would definitely run some short tracks and do some, I would do some fun stuff with it, make the IROC series really, really, it would be exciting events, like nighttime, Bristol, nighttime Martinsville, stuff like that. I'm 100% on board a figure 8 race in Riverhead, too. That'd be fun. Yeah, I would, do they run school buses there? Yeah, I did, remember I did the bus race last year? School bus race with Freddie, it would be pretty fun.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Yeah. We should try and get over there. They do them at Charlotte still, don't they? Yeah, we should probably get over there and get a dirty, dirty mo, or DBC versus DJB. I told you that time, my sponsor won, right? You did? Yeah, well, my tire guy, when I was driving late,
Starting point is 00:41:45 Miles was David Hobes, who's now a marketing guy at Penske. Yeah, he drove a bus over there, and we wrote my website down the side of it. It was pretty awesome. That's cool. Can we get door bumper clear T-shirts on your website? Can we get door bumper clear T-shirts for their co-hosts? You can order them. I don't think they make them in my size.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Yeah, we do. Still don't have a shirt, so, you know. People actually been tweeting. Have you been on the website? You said you don't sell them anymore. They're on the website. I don't deal with it personally myself. Oh, he's got, he's got, he's got, he's got, he's got people now.
Starting point is 00:42:20 So I did get an email from somebody that says, oh, by the way, I tried to order your shirt from this site right here, and there's only one site you can order it from my site. And I go to the site, I'm like, uh, this is interesting. So, yeah, that was awesome. Well, we need some merch. Yeah, definitely needed that. Anything we want to rant about? Uh, I would ran about people complaining about the attendance still. I thought the race at Richmond was fairly well attended for the rain in the morning and stuff.
Starting point is 00:42:50 If you live close enough and you're sitting on your couch watching the race complaining about people not being there, you're part of the issue. Yes. You know, and once again, like you take our races and you take these places and how many places of Richmond still seat? Probably a good 80,000 or more maybe. and that's still four times the amount of a Hornets game. It's ridiculous. People don't understand how many people these racetracks, how many people used to be there,
Starting point is 00:43:23 yeah, it's lower than what it was, but it's still a pretty good, if you take all them people and put them in, you'd fill up the Hornets Arena. Yeah, I mean, you look at Bristol, and yes, Bristol, probably the optics of it looked terrible because it was a third, you know, like, but there's still 35,000 people in the grandstands there.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Like, that's more than, I mean, you look at baseball games nowadays, they are struggling. Like, some, a couple people try to tell me that, like, you know, the attendance is up. I'm like, every baseball game I watch, it's well over half-density. You can sit wherever you want. Yeah, like, so, I mean, opening weekend, they probably got 30. You know, I think most baseball stadiums hold like 30 to 40,000 people. And so they might that first week get that crowd, but they're not getting anywhere near the crowds we're getting. I still think there's factors that still add into it.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Like, it is, it is pricey to go to the race still. It is. but, you know, there's also, there's good deals if you plan out and head of time. Or, you know, there's just, there's plenty of, there's plenty of ways to do it still. Yeah, you compare it to what it used to be, and you can't do that because the, the experience of watching at home is so much better now than it was 10 years ago. You don't have to be there to listen to the scanner. You don't, you know, you could watch 100 different angles on three different channels nowadays for all sporting events. Yeah, we talked about that.
Starting point is 00:44:32 So, I mean, last week, right? I just feel like. Yeah, well, you can sit on your couch and you got your free. refrigerator 15 feet away and a blanket right there, you know, so you can pull it over and take a nap when you want. And you've got your phone, which gets every driver's in car, and you can listen to the MRM broadcast, the TV broadcasts, and your favorite driver pretty much whenever you want, however you want, all on your couch. Yeah, not leave my house. So, you know, there's so much access. You can't, you can watch a basketball game from the, from the TV, but you don't get the,
Starting point is 00:45:04 you can't, you can't be on the sidelines. You can't, you can't hear that stuff. Yeah, you can't be inside the sport. You can get inside our sport from your couch. Yeah. Adam Stern tweeted the ratings for the weekend and the top market for the Richmond race was Richmond itself. So, really? Surprising that. So many people live in Richmond, watch the race and TV, but didn't go. That's it. Black them out. They can make them come on the track. Yeah. Man. I think the attendance has been okay though. I mean, I'm not overly worried about the attendance. If you want to go, go, but don't complain about it if you're close. Right. Are you guys doing anything for the off weekend?
Starting point is 00:45:40 Uh, no, I'm actually not doing a whole lot. I don't, um, just, uh, yeah, it's Easter, right? Yep. Yeah, just have a good Easter and might fire up my, my Trager grill, go get some stuff, put it on there. Need a sponsorship still. Yeah, I know. Hey, if anybody's going to sponsor us, that might be the place.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Yeah, we have to get on old coffee. I know it. Yeah, Scott, Scott, if you're listening. Send checks. Yeah. Or just, or just come over to the show and just smoke some stuff out. so we can at least smell it when we're doing the show. We can describe the sense of it on the show.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Yeah, Kyle would love it. Scott, he's a pretty fun guy to hang out with. I haven't hung out with him, but I dealt with him when I got my stuff. Yeah, he's awesome. Yeah. So me and Megan are going to see Garth Brooks this weekend. I'm so jealous. I told Chad when she tweeted that out, and Chad's like, that's great.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Yeah, Megan's been asking me, we've been together 10 years. Like, we've been together 10 years at the end of this month. And I think for the entire 10 years, she's been telling me she wants to go to Garth Bruce concert and I've never really had a chance or, you know, the way the schedule's lined up, we were always gone or something. So somebody had tweeted at me of course, Megan's
Starting point is 00:46:48 tweeted something about it. They're going and then one of the PR people in the business tweeted, oh, well, just so you know, it just so happens, it lines up on the off weekend, so kind of painted me right to a box there, so I guess I was boxed in. But yeah, Megan, I'm not really a big Garth Brooks fan, but everybody tells me his show is incredible, so I'm
Starting point is 00:47:03 looking forward to it. Brett swears by it. I'm not a huge country fan in general, but But Brett always says it's really good. He's amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Just like pock rass. Pock grass. Jason, what are you doing this off again? I want to go to Myrtle Beach. I'm hoping to be able to drive walking. Yeah, you're going to look great on the beach with that thing. Metal detector is going to be going off all around, Jason. Just trying to sit here and enjoy the wall.
Starting point is 00:47:31 Dang. I'm straight up driving away from Brett Ray. This is impressive. What's the score? Five to three. Didn't he start off with like the first three? Yeah, he's slacking, man. Oh, he's been killing it.
Starting point is 00:47:41 Yeah. So are we picking now? Yeah. Where do we go next? Taladaega. Boy. Did he already give you his picks? Yeah, Brett's picking Paul Menard.
Starting point is 00:47:53 Ah, that's a good pick. He's really just trying to grab somebody now. He's picking Joey Meyer. So, no, I'm going to pick, uh, oh, man, Ricky Rekhouse. I know. I'm going to go with Ricky, man. He's in a, you know, I feel like that's a compared, compared to Minard without going for the fence right here.
Starting point is 00:48:17 I got a little bit of a buffer now. I can slow play this now, man. Like, I'm up two strokes. I'm like Tiger right now. I'm like Tiger. Yeah. I don't know if this is an appropriate question for this track, but the best driver at this track because I feel like it's just,
Starting point is 00:48:31 you never know. Is that written? Yeah. Who's the best driver at Talladega? Yeah. It's just a typical. Fantasy. Oh, yeah, what am I doing?
Starting point is 00:48:40 Let's see here. The best driver at Talladega. I think probably De Benedetto would be a good pick. I mean, I'm not talking best driver, but like fantasy pick wise. Like, he was up front all night at Daytona, so that might be a decent one. I mean, that kind of worked out with teammates and them guys all sitting in line like that. You know, so the best drivers at Talladega right now in plate race in particular would probably be Brad and Joey, in my opinion. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I feel about it's like top of the guy. Well, that's what it is. I mean, it's his best driver at this track. Oh, yeah. I would say probably Brad, probably Joey. Surprise driver now. I would go with, I would say Matt would be a pretty good pick for that. De Benedetto would be pretty good there.
Starting point is 00:49:20 I mean, Priests, I know I pick Priest's like every week. I pick him like every week. Did you pick Bush? Did you pick Bush? Did you have a hell of run? I don't know. I don't know what happened. He didn't finish well, but he ended up back there.
Starting point is 00:49:31 He ran well. He ran the top five. He passed Harvick up there at one point. Yeah. He was right in front of me at the end, so I don't know what. happen. I would say surprise driver. I mean, Menard, probably not high on a lot of people's list, but
Starting point is 00:49:44 Menard, Di Benadetto, Priest finished third or fifth in the Daytona 500, 4th, something like that. Them JTG guys, right around the back, the whole race and finish in the top five every time. It tries me insane. I wouldn't be afraid to pick like a Newman right here. Yeah, for sure. Newman's going to be in a fast car. He's pretty smart when it gets to these places.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Front row. guys. McDowell, Reagan will be in good cars. They're pretty, they're decent. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this is a new package too. Yeah, I mean, this is like, yeah, you can pick anybody here. Movie review. All right, I watched Cannonball Run, the one Jen Fryer recommended for me last week. It's an action and event for film where pairs of race teams are engaged in a cross-country race running into the law and some obstacles along the way. I thought it was really good. It was really entertaining. Lots of stunts, which I thought were awesome. bike out of a plane, race car into a pool, crashing vehicles into buildings, trucks jumping over a train. So I'm not sure how they did that in the early 80s, but it was cool. It was fun. It was fun to do.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Then my favorite part is when JJ and Captain Chaos, their race vehicle was an ambulance, and then they explained to the officer that they were transporting a girl from New Jersey to California that they basically kidnapped her social and get medical attention in California specifically. So it was good. I like it. Yeah, that is a good movie. That's a very good movie. There's more than one, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:10 So you're going to follow up on that. And wasn't the same guy in Stroker Ace was in Bert Reynolds, right? Yes. Yeah. I was going to say, if you don't know who that was. Like, I recognized it. Go on and cluck him. Cluck him.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Cluck him. Cluck. Give it good way back. Is there any old movie, Jason, that you've always wanted to watch that you never have? I don't really know. I'd like if you guys can recommend something maybe in the 90s or something. Like, I like the old 80s, but like it's just the quality. Did he like, did he like, did he like,
Starting point is 00:51:36 Did you like Clarks? I wasn't here. I remember you had to watch him. You didn't like clerks? It was just, I don't know. In the 90s. That's like Charlie Sheen stuff. A lot of Charlie Sheen.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Major League. Major League is real. What about Top Gun? You've seen Top Gun? No. I hope he's. What? You've never seen Top Gun?
Starting point is 00:51:52 Well, there you go. Oh, well done. I think that's 80s, but you're still doing it. Yeah. You've got to name any movie and I'm not, probably have not seen it. You're going to have to fast through a few parts there. I don't know if your eyes are ready for it. Turn 21.
Starting point is 00:52:05 I'm do whatever I want now. Yeah, top gun's a good one, man. Wow. I mean, I shouldn't say I can't believe it. I can't believe you haven't seen Top Gun. I still see. He's one of them kids that's going to wear the shirt that says my wingman, you know, whatever, like that's going to have goose on there or whatever. But he does no idea what it means.
Starting point is 00:52:23 With the ABA of some losses. Something like that, yeah. So Top Gun will be, that's a good one, though. Should, are we doing a show next week? No. No, which is the next line. So you got two weeks to watch this. Yeah, plenty of time.
Starting point is 00:52:35 I feel like maybe we should pick a second one for him to watch. He's got two weeks. He's got so many movies. Jason's also got finals to study for in these two weeks. That's your problem. You've missed out on so many good movies, Jason. Got all season. No, we're a quarter way into it almost now, are we?
Starting point is 00:52:48 Yeah, just about one race short, I think. Geez, all right. Well, stick with Top Gun then. Okay, we'll do. All right, just a reminder, we do not have a show next week because of the off weekend, but we'll be back right after Talladega. Thanks, guys, so much for listening. Sorry, Brett's not here.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Yeah, but thank you to everybody who sent some comments and had some feedback, some negative feedback from the show last week with Jenna. We got a lot of good positive comments. Yeah, it was great to hear, so keep them coming. Yeah, and if you want to tweet Dale Jr. and Leavon and Matthew Donner about why they don't advertise for our show on their show, it'd be awesome because we advertise for their show on ours. So I feel like it's only fair. We'll tag them in our videos.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Leah is in here looking at me right now. It's only fair. Is it fine? I don't make those. Oh, now she's putting it off on somebody else. Did you hear that bus run Davis and stealing her over? That's the same thing that. I hope they're okay out there.
Starting point is 00:53:48 It's the same thing donor's going to say when he comes in here. Donors are going to say, I don't make the decisions. Talk to Davis. But just look at my Instagram. I like it. Go Islanders. Don't forget to tweet at Brett, wishing him speedy recovery to you. If he's still on drugs, I'm sure you can get some great responses.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Yeah. Tweet him about like 6 o'clock tonight. It should be there. Very entertaining. Yeah, after this comes out, just going to start tweeting Brett when you hear this show. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. That'd be perfect timing.
Starting point is 00:54:17 Tweet us or send us some reviews on iTunes in two. Oh, yeah. We should start. We should talk about it. So you send them there, then they're reading them on the Dale Jr. Download. So maybe we'll start reading some reviews and ratings. Any good random questions, too, are always good.
Starting point is 00:54:30 Any good random questions. It doesn't have to always be about racing. It could be like life advice from Brett, something like that. That is something you don't want. Forever. Marathon. Training advice from Freddie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:41 Yeah. I give you half marathon training. Just starting to 5K and you'll run your ass off. You'll win half marathon. Did you do the couch to 5K app? I did ease into 5K app. Ease on into it. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:55 I did not work out well. Ease into the 5K? Ease into it. It's eight weeks. You start off, it's like, easy as possible. Then by week four, you want to kill yourself. Done. All right. Well, on that note, have a great week, everyone.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Yeah, happy Easter and have a great week. I'll see you. Check out Dirty Mo Media on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Dirty Mo.
