My shoulders.
I can just walking in, I'm like, I could feel the heat on my shoulders.
Dude, when I got in the shower this morning, I was like, do, do, do, oh, forgot.
Do you have a weird voice?
Please tell me that cameras are rolling on that.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God, that was awesome.
You want an ice pack?
No, I'm good.
Let's start to show her holding ice pack on her face.
Like a eye patch.
Yes.
Hey, everybody.
Welcome to the door bumper clear.
I am not Casey Boat.
I am T.J. Majors.
And with me today is Freddie Craft in the studio,
with the greatest day in racing to talk about.
We will discuss JGR cars blowing right front tires.
Martin Truex asking you if David Reagan will start in the rear,
and IndyCar NASCAR doubleheader.
Attention for a first-time winner in Pocono, plus much more.
Let's get started.
I'm T.J. Majors.
This is Frank Griffin.
Get ready.
Be ready. Be ready.
Let me what you got here.
New leader.
Watch out for this guy.
White flag.
Recognize.
Hello.
Hello.
Clear.
Bring home.
Free light.
Coming to the line.
Door.
Bumper.
Clear.
Hey, everybody.
I am T.J. Major.
Spot of the 22 cup car, the 99 truck.
And, you know, obviously we are less Brett Griffin again today.
We're going to fire him.
I think so.
Because he's missed the two biggest week.
Two weeks in a row.
Yeah.
And they were important for him.
him to be here. Yeah. I mean, really
important for him to be here. His guy was in a fight.
His guy's in a wreck. Where are you, Brett?
He's hiding. I'm on a boat.
I'm on a boat. I'm on a boat.
In his flippy floppies.
So, yeah, we got Freddy
in studio today and
Casey.
Hi. Casey
has had an interesting start to the day.
Okay, not my fault, guys. And I lost
my voice, so that really helps. I hear you, though.
You may need a voice for a podcast. Yeah, I hear
like you're speaking, so it's not. It's not.
lost.
What?
Well,
it's just different.
A few minutes ago,
they were adjusting
the microphones in here
and Casey got
smacked in the face.
In the face.
Yep.
And we're going to put that
on video.
It's going to be out there
on a clip because her
reaction afterwards
pretty priceless.
Actually,
all of our reactions are pretty priceless.
I witnessed it.
I was looking at her
when it happened.
I just had a little glance over.
How was it supposed to react?
Just ignore it?
I don't know.
It had been pretty awesome.
You stood up and just
knocked the microphone
off this.
Just hit your chest
walked out.
You should have put your helmet on
a punch the guy.
Yeah.
You should have went up
and started swinging out of like Clint.
It was Dustin.
I can't do that.
I like him.
Not Dustin.
Just the mic-
Dustin didn't hit you.
The microphone did.
Whatever.
Well, you guys were already
giving me crap
for being late
even though I was early.
So I don't really know.
What time is it right now?
I have work.
Yeah, that's,
which is fine.
So we're like,
hey, just get there
a little early and we'll plan
on starting right.
I was here at 857.
That's early.
But that's pre-haired.
pre-makeup check, pre-microphone in the fit.
I didn't do any of that today. Can you tell?
Yes, I can tell. Absolutely, we can tell.
That's a fine in Tom Coughlin's world.
Okay, rude.
I think you look great.
Thanks.
Always.
Always.
That's not like you're saying before the show started.
Now you guys are being nice.
We're on the record now.
You dig it.
You did get hit in the face by a microphone.
You look great for somebody who took a microphone to the face less than five minutes ago.
Yes, you look pretty good.
You want an ice pack?
Maybe when I leave.
And now I've had aches.
so this is great.
All right.
How was Memorial Day and the Coke 600?
Well, I mean, they were both really long for me.
Freddie is like a rare steak red on his shoulders.
I am burnt to a crisp.
Oh my gosh, that's like purple.
That's not red.
No, that's pretty bad.
That's what happens when you empty a cooler full of beer
and never get out of the lake and forget to put sunscreen on.
for like a second time.
Like I applied before I got on the water that like the eight hours later that I forgot,
it,
uh,
it didn't go well.
You know,
that's,
uh,
the sun will sneak up on you.
No,
they're there all the time.
It really doesn't sneak up.
Yeah,
well,
it kind of seeks up on you in the morning,
but it's probably,
the next day when you jump in the shower,
it's like,
oh,
I forgot about that.
Because it's yours just as bad?
And I know you said,
mine's pretty bad,
yeah,
but mine's not purple looking.
Oh,
yeah,
yours is like a normal sun.
Your is like,
I'm wearing a V neck right now.
It's like,
Oh.
Yeah, I, uh, I didn't get in the lake.
I don't, I don't like getting in the lake here.
No?
No.
I mean, it's, it's crystal.
Where were your water?
I don't know what you were.
What were you?
The sandbar?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And like a third of the boats have bathrooms.
Do the math, Freddie.
You do the math.
Oh, I was doing the math.
You read him, do the math.
He just didn't care.
Yes.
I was fine.
He's like, just try not to swallow it.
Ugh.
Yeah, so, but I mean, Memorial Day weekend is always a fun one here.
Yeah.
I think you're at home.
This has been, this is turning into some of my favorite, this is one of my favorite parts of the racing season.
Now you're home for a couple weeks.
A lot of, a lot of traffic through town this week, fan-wise and stuff, and they go to the shops and studios here and check things out.
But I thought the racing product was pretty good this weekend the whole way around.
The Xunni guys had their hands full Saturday.
It was real hot, slick.
So I thought the Xfinity race was pretty exciting.
The Cup race, two different packages.
I thought both raced well.
I thought both were fine, honestly.
You kind of seen what we talked about recently on the show with the leader can get away more during the day
because it was kind of hot, slick, they were sliding around.
But then in the night, I felt like the racing was way better up front.
There was a lot of passes for the lead, a lot of passes throughout the field,
and just an overall good race.
Yeah, we struggled in the beginning.
I think we started seventh and I think about three laps in.
We were side by side with Suarez and he just got tight on the bottom.
And, you know, when you push up a little bit and it gets into the quarter panel,
the guy a little bit, you just wash up the racetrack.
And we were really, we were struggling pretty bad right then.
We made a lot of big adjustments early on.
Obviously, we got the car better for nighttime and stuff,
but we got behind on tires in the beginning.
And we had to stay out a couple times.
We restarted like six.
for seven a few times, but couldn't hold off the guys with tires.
I mean, you flew by us a couple times.
Yeah, we were pretty good.
We started in the back and drove up to, like, I think, ninth at one point,
and we were really good, and unfortunately got a pit road penalty,
put us in the back, and coming back through, we ended up three-wide with McDowell and
Corey LaJoy, and McDowell kind of squeezed the joy into us and kind of hooked McDowell
into our left for a quarter and did a bunch of damage, and then we had an issue with
the ignition switch, falling in.
out of the dashboard.
So it,
I don't know,
it was like loose or something,
I don't know.
So he couldn't fire it up right away.
So we lost a,
we lost ball laps and we should have.
But,
yeah,
we ended up just,
you know,
we ran good the rest of the night,
never lost another lap.
Where'd you end up?
Where, 25th?
Yeah.
Yeah, but I feel like Bubba could have been,
that this package,
he's pretty good at Charlotte
with this type of stuff.
Yeah.
So he does a pretty good job.
We had a really good,
the best two weeks we've had of the year,
unfortunately,
except for the incident with them guys.
but speaking of Lajoie, he did a great job.
Yeah, I think he was 12.
Yeah, had a P12, so.
That's a good deal for him.
This package keeps more cars on the lead lap too.
I feel like it's harder to get away and just lap a bunch of cars.
I noticed, well, we lost our lap.
It was right before the end of the second stage that we had our little deal,
and we were like four or five laps down.
And I looked to see, like, I'm like, all right, we can beat some of these guys.
And I looked and, like, B.J. McLeod's on the lead lap.
Oh, yeah, 77 was on elite lap.
I'm like, how the hell are these guys still on the lead lap?
Yeah, for sure.
And then.
I looked down one time, we were 100 lapsed in, and I felt like we were about 300 in.
And I'm like, Missing has got to be about over.
And I looked down on the fan vision, and it was like lap 100 of 400.
And I was like, oh, my God.
That four stage gets you.
I forgot.
And I was like, wow.
I knew after Saturday's race, I'm like, man, this race just took three hours.
And we're going the same speed as them now.
And it's only half the distance of the cup race.
I'm like, we're looking for, we're looking at like five, six hours on Sunday night.
Four hours, 50 minutes.
minutes total. Have they said anything about maybe doing something different next year since it's
so long? I thought I read a quote where they asked the drivers and the drivers want shorter races,
but they want that one to stay. It's just how it is. I mean, honestly, this race doesn't have
the same buildup to it if it's not the World 600, you know, Coke 600. It doesn't have the same
build up to it, in my opinion. It's just always been known as it, and I think they should leave it as well.
Yeah, it's a crown jewel race. You don't, you can't really miss it. They started early enough
where there's a change, there's a transition. You had guys that were really fast in the beginning,
and then the guys that came on better later on. So it was kind of a, and you, you kind of were flip-flop
in there, and resarts were nuts. Yeah, I would like to maybe see it start a little bit earlier,
just for the fact that, what was it, like 1130 when the race ended?
It's pretty late, you know, we kind of need to get, you know, you can't be racing that right.
I think it started at six, right?
Started six.
It started more like 630, though, because they do all the pre-rate.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind starting it, you know, maybe just a little bit earlier.
Yeah, for sure.
Spot on, spot off.
You spot off.
You don't like it.
Spot on, you don't like it, and you say why either way.
First topic, four of five JGR cars blow right front tires in the 600.
Spot on, spot off, Freddie.
I mean, spot.
on.
We beat a couple of them for, but I get, you know, spot off.
It wasn't a tire issue.
It sounded like the stuff I read after the race.
It was an air pressure issue.
And I talked to a couple guys that were like, oh, it'll get, you know, it'll get
better once it cools down.
I'm like, no, I'm pretty sure it's a load issue, which is, we're going to be going
a lot faster tonight.
It's going to get worse.
But I guess some guys just adjusted the tire pressure.
I mean, the funny part was, if you think this stuff doesn't matter, like the picks
on the show here, I'm sitting up there in the 19 pounds of fence.
thing I know the guy next to me, he's fist pumping, and I'm like, what a dick?
Like, why is he so happy the true exes wrecked?
Showed him, didn't that?
I'm like, Brett, what the hell you're so happy about?
He's like, the picks.
I'm like, oh, shit.
So then I'm like, yeah, yeah.
And then like, whatever, like, a little while later, like, 100 laps later, the 37 goes
a pounds of fence, and he's kicking the fence.
And I'm like, I guess you're really into that pick deal.
Then he both finished in the top six.
Yeah.
I didn't even think about it until afterwards either.
I didn't even think about it again, but, um,
You know, I don't know, man.
I don't like seeing right fronts blow, but it sounds like a self-induced.
I'm not sure.
It doesn't sound like a tire problem that, you know, that Goodyear had or something like that.
So sounds like those guys, a lot of them made the right adjustments, though, and obviously the 19th century.
He made the right adjustment.
I think Cole Pern said that it was a camber and tire pressure issue.
So, you know, obviously camber speed, you know, and, you know.
and, you know, the tire pressure as well.
So it looks like they got it figured out, though,
and we're able to carry on.
Yeah.
Truex calls Koslowski's spin to bring out the final caution suspicious.
Spot on, spot off.
TJ.
Uh, spot off.
I don't, you don't, I don't know of a button you push where you blow a right rear tire.
Or how do you even, I don't know how you would manipulate that as a driver.
Like, it's never, you're running your own race.
You don't ever think about the only time you're,
you know, you help teammates or whatever
as if, you know, you don't want to race
row too hard at certain times.
But, you know, people don't blow tires
on purpose.
That's what I was going to say.
He didn't he? He didn't you spin out? He blew a right rear tire,
didn't he? Like, when he came by me,
yeah, he was flat. It was flat. Yeah.
Yeah, so I don't know how
I mean, I guess
the right front could have been suspicious.
You know, you just don't blow tires.
You know, more suspicious stuff to me
would be spinning out.
You know, by yourself without, okay, you got a tire going down or whatever, and you spin it out by yourself.
That's a different story, but the guy blew a tire.
Yeah, and he's spun trying to get on pit road.
Yeah, I mean, he's not thinking about anybody but trying to get safe right there.
And, you know, it's, you know, people are always going to look at it like that.
They're always going to look at, oh, well, this guy wrecked on purpose for this.
I mean, it doesn't happen.
Yeah, I feel like this guy that made this quote complains a lot.
especially about lap cars and the way other people race him lately.
It's just been a lot of complaining out of him.
And it's getting pretty old.
Yeah.
I wrote this when I was at the airport at 1 a.m.,
but he called it a little strange, not suspicious, exactly,
but similar meanings.
Yeah.
Just want to clarify.
Good job.
Truex asked on the radio if David Reagan could move to the rear of the field for the final restart.
Well, why wouldn't you?
Spot off.
I mean, why wouldn't you just take you?
give the lead up with five to go in the race and go to the back so you can help somebody else win.
That's what I have to do.
Clearly.
I'm confused.
I'm confused.
It would play on the radio, I guess.
I mean, played on TV.
Clayton went to Rocky and asked Rocky if they'd go to the back so they'd get out of the 19's way.
Seriously?
With five to go.
Cool.
He clearly didn't have any issues, so.
I mean, I think we're talking about it later.
Do we talk about their call?
I mean, they're staying out or not.
I mean, that was not a very good.
Man, that guy's racing, and I thought he held on pretty well.
He did for the first, like, I think that would have been a great call if it was like two laps.
Yeah, but I mean.
He ended up losing, you know, all this.
I forget.
I don't know if we were worried.
Where did Reagan finish, do you know?
I will look it up.
But, you know, he lost, him and Newman ended up.
Newman went way back.
I thought the 30.
No, Reagan was right.
He hung around there for a while.
He stayed in, like, the top five for, like, two laps, and then he got shuffled,
and he ended up back by me, which we were, like, just running behind
all lead lap cars.
Yeah.
He was like the last car in lead lap.
Man,
I don't blame the call of it, man.
You're racing for what if?
Yeah, try it.
What if you get the lead in the first corner and the caution comes out and it's a
five, six lap cleanup?
You got a green, white checker.
And then you got a green white checker and you're out front.
I just can't believe somebody would actually have these.
I mean, it's a race.
I don't even know what you call it.
Like to go down and say, hey, well, you get out of my way so I can win?
We had tires.
We were stuck back there, but man, what are you going to do?
It's a race.
You drop the green and you go get what you can get.
I mean, you know, yeah, I don't, just race.
If you win, you win, you win.
Go do your best.
Reagan finished 15th, Newman 16th.
Yeah.
But what if, though?
La Casha comes out in the first corner.
You're sitting there.
I mean, front row restart.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't blame him a bit, man.
I think it's a good call.
Let's take a break and see what's on the Dale Jr.

The Del Junior Down.
Dirty boat.
And we are back.
We'll head in the fast lane.
I'll give these guys three topics pertaining to racing and one that is off the wall.
They'll have 30 seconds to respond to each.
So you just got that great infomercial on the Dillner download.
Now we'll carry you into Fastlane.
Morephan.
Hopefully it was an entertaining commercial.
Speaking Dillner, behind you to your left.
Who cares?
There he goes.
The big goof.
It looks like the beef jerky guy.
That's Sasquant.
You guys are horrible.
I was going to make fun of Dillner some more.
but let's just go for it
We just call me and her, I'm calling a big goof.
That's the perfect example of Duhner.
So if you're at a racetrack and you see Matthew Doner,
just, hey, big goof.
Big goof, calling a big goof.
He'll turn around, I guarantee it.
And video when you do it.
Send it into the show, please.
Big goof.
I wish he could hear us right now.
Oh, you can say it again.
Don't worry.
He'll be back.
Indy cars Jay Fry says the series is exploring an IndyCar
Nasscar double header.
Do you want to see the?
this happened and what track would it be best at what do you guys think freddie uh absolutely i mean
anything that'll draw more fans out if we can you know crosshatch the our fans with their fans
be great uh track wise i'd say something like long beach you know let's do a damn street course i mean
on their side i've been saying for a while i want to see a damn street course so let's do the long
beach i don't think it's a i don't think it's a bad thing to to go and give fans like why not
why not give them a little bit
you know what NASCAR fan is
not going to stick around and watch an IndyCar race
and what IndyCar guy is not going to check out a NASCAR race
you know? Yeah.
Get the people more of reason to go in camp.
I'm not against somewhere like a Pocono or something
where you can get both of them.
I think that's actually a pretty good idea.
I feel like we've said this a lot,
but other sports too, I mean Supercross.
Like there is a lot of crossover
and NASCAR is trying to get the Supercross fans.
Why not do something?
I don't think a street course is a bad idea either.
obviously you'll have a pretty good fan base there for the indie cars.
And then I think it would be a lot.
I think it would be pretty awesome to throw a cup car there.
You know, a cup race too.
Why not?
Yeah, I mean, that's kind of like getting like Long Beach.
It's kind of like a party atmosphere.
So, I mean, you can extend that party by a day or four or five hours.
More of that same day.
Yeah.
Just make it a bigger party.
If not, let's go to, like, if you want to do a truck, you know, a cup track,
let's go to Bartonsville.
I think if Long Beach went well, I think we load them all up and go to Servers Paradise or something.
Yeah.
Doublehead or Indie car.
Brett's texted me.
I can't believe he's alive right now.
What's he saying?
He set his pick in.
That's all.
Should we call him?
See how he's feeling?
No, I don't think so.
Who is it?
So I can go ahead and plan now, think about it.
It's his, all he picks first, right?
Yeah.
Eric Jones.
Okay.
Second question. Daniel Suarez and Alex Spohman finished second and third in the last Pocono race.
Who has the better chance to get their first career cup win on Sunday? T.J.
Oh, man. You know, I was just thinking about, I was just thinking about Suarez a second ago.
You said Eric Jones. I think those cars will be fast there. I got a roll of Suarez right now there.
For some reason, I'm just, my gut saying Suarez.
Yeah, I'll take Bowman just for the fact that he's been pretty hot lately.
He's had a lot of speed the last month or so.
Run's pretty good there.
So I think that he has the better shot.
I don't think either one of them are going to win,
but I think out of those two, he'll have the better shot.
I thought Daniels have been pretty fast and aggressive here,
and Pocono is going to be more of a track where your car handling is probably going to matter a little bit more.
It's not going to be quite as like Charlotte, I don't think.
So I don't know.
I like Suarez's chances here.
Off the wall question.
The NBA and NHL finals take place this week with Warriors v. Raptors and Bruins v. Blues.
Who do you have winning each series and in how many games, Freddie?
Huh.
Well, as far as basketball goes, I'll take the Warriors because I don't know how anybody's supposed to be, the All-Star team.
I'll say Warriors in six.
and I'll take the blues in the hockey just because I can't stand Boston fans.
So let's go blues in seven games.
Yeah, I'll go Warriors in five.
I think it could even be a sweep, but this will be the last year that happens.
Hockey, gosh, same way, man.
Anybody but a Boston team winning anything.
They've won so much stuff here lately, like in the last 15, 20 years.
years. It's like a championship in some
league every year.
Like, stop. I saw, there was a
billboard. I don't know where, maybe Jason knows where it is, but
it was like, end the struggling. It's been
104 days since we've won a championship.
Three months since the Boston team has celebrated.
They need to get back on top.
See, he wouldn't know this.
Jason would be the perfect fan.
Red Sox, Bruins,
Patriots. I don't really fall hockey, so I'm not.
Oh, you will now. You'll be the bandwagon.
But if they went ahead.
That's his card tomorrow.
I'm not let the Bruins flag hanging off the window right now.
Oh, fall of hockey.
Oh, man, I got to, you know, I think the Bruins will win it because I don't want them to.
Yeah. But it'll be in seven probably.
All right. Asked TVC.
First question. Updates Fanatic asks, when do you think SHR will pick up their first win of 2019?
What do you guys think, Freddie?
Or TJ?
Could be this weekend.
I just say it could be Harvick this week.
Yeah, I was to say Harvick.
Kyle will be really good here.
Kyle knows how to get around Pocono.
I do think Kevin will be tough this weekend.
Yeah, I think one of the next two weekends, probably,
because Kevin's really good here,
and then last year they were all really good.
I think Clint won Michigan last year, didn't he?
So, you know, they were all really good there.
Who knows what the hell we're going to have in Michigan?
That's going to be a damn plate race, it seems like, I don't imagine.
But, yeah, I'd say pretty soon.
What do you think this weekend Poconos package?
Because last year, Xfinery race wasn't that great with whatever they're running.
Any different?
I think it'll get strung out a little more here.
What do you think?
Yeah, for sure.
I don't think it's going to be, I don't think it's going to be packed up like what we want or they want quite yet.
But I think it'll be closer than normal.
Yeah, restarts will be nuts.
The restarts will be crazy.
First few laps will be crazy.
But then, you know, Pocono is just a different place too.
There'll be guys' cars that handle in one, guys' cars that, you know, only handling three.
and so you'll have some, I think the racing will be okay,
but, you know, I'm looking forward to trying it.
I mean, we'll get there and see how it goes.
Like you said, restarts will be really,
it's just a place that doesn't really lend itself
to a lot of side-by-side racing.
So these, we've gotten really good ratings.
I saw the ratings were up.
8%.
Yeah, 8% is a pretty good little jump.
Yeah.
So, and, you know, reading them polls,
like Jeff Gluck's poll about,
was it a good race?
We've been, it's been near 90%.
When I voted yesterday, it was, I think, 91% or something like that.
Yeah, like this package is obviously entertaining to people.
So hopefully, you know, if we're on the right track, I don't mind the racing.
I think the racing, it's just you've got to race differently than what you used to.
And everyone's going to adjust and we're all going to learn it a little bit, you know, as we go.
But, I mean, if it's entertaining to the people at home and I'm still having fun doing it.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, I'm looking forward to it.
This person wins asked BBC for the week.
Gerald Pinn asked if we can change one thing about Brett, what would it be and why?
Go ahead, Casey. You start.
Let's all go around.
There we go around the room.
Freddie, you go first.
You want me to go first?
Yeah.
There's a lot of things that I could change about Brett.
One thing I would change about Brett is I would move his hotel about two hours from mine every week so that I'd never have to see him on the weekends.
Huh.
Jason, you go ahead.
I'm thinking of something really good.
I just wish he would call in when he's on a yacht with Clint Boyer on a Tuesday when we're recording the morning.
I just feel like that needs to be a mandatory assignment.
Yeah.
I think he's going swimming with sharks today, so we might not ever see Brett again.
Well, let's hope.
I don't know.
Let's see.
What would I change about Brett?
Well, Brett's pretty biased about his car.
spots for.
Like,
wait a minute.
Are you talking about
Brett or you?
I'm confused.
I'm talking about Brett.
Well, you could...
I guess everybody is to their own car to an extent of
Brett takes it to another level.
He's pretty...
He's pretty...
He's got the blinders on sometimes.
He's got the blinders on sometimes.
You know, we're all biased to our cars,
but, you know, these guys make mistakes sometimes,
and it's racing incidents.
a lot. I mean, sometimes stuff happens.
But yeah, you don't, you know, not with Brett.
But no, it's good. It makes it competitive and stuff.
But no, I think it makes it entertaining.
Yeah, for sure. Definitely entertaining.
What do you got, Case?
Honestly, I don't think I would change a thing because I feel like we laugh about him
way too much.
Yeah.
Wrong answer?
Yeah.
No, he's hilarious. I just, I guess, I don't know.
hasn't done anything wrong to me yet. We've been enjoying
Brett. So I bought
Brett's truck. He brought a new truck.
I bought his old truck to have to go back and forth to the
airport. Doug Campbell,
that's Possible 95, bought his boat, which we were out on
yesterday. So we're just enjoying Brett while he's not here anyway.
What else you got?
Brett?
I said, for what I paid for the car,
I'm calling dibs on the house.
When you're ready to sell that, just send it over.
Yeah. Where is he this week? Where is he at?
He's on a yacht. Remember? He's out there for Clint's
birthday party. Oh, yeah. And he's been posting pictures from the boat. Vacation problems.
Yeah. Seam post. Yeah. His, I guess one of his kids lost a tooth. Yeah. The babysitter has no cash for
the tooth fairy. Big problem at his house. That's an issue. That is an issue, man. Like,
that's, you better go to the ATM machine. I went, so I went to, I've been going to, like, a lot of
his son's baseball games who's playing the championship game tonight because they made the finals. But,
But so we're out to dinner after one of the games, and I told them, I said, Bodie, if you get, if you make it out, because he's six years old, it's coach pitch, little league that's, they kind of just field the ball, you know, hold on to it. But Bodie's really good. And I said, if you make it out, I'll give you ten bucks. If you get a really good hit, I'll give you ten bucks.
First at bat, the kid strokes have doubled over the, I'm like, ching.
Son of a bitch. I'm like, Brett wasn't there. Brett was, I forget where Brett was. I just texted. I said, you could just cost me money again.
She's running out of the first baseline. Looks over, Freddie.
Yeah, he's Johnny Mansell running the bases.
But, yeah, so.
How awesome would that be?
He just cranks and starts running the first going like this.
He's so funny.
It's so fun to watch them little kids playing.
It's like they're at the age where they're, like, some of them don't really have any idea what to do.
And some of them are really good.
Someone run the third first?
Yeah, like it's, it was funny.
Oh, that's funny.
Oh, anything we want to rant about?
How do you know about Indy 500?
How is that?
Indy 500.
How is that?
Indy 5 was awesome.
That whole town gets.
were way into the race and it's awesome.
Like, checkered flags and every porch,
300,000 people, the atmosphere was awesome.
Racing was great.
They didn't really pass a lot.
That's the thing.
Coming from NASCAR, it's kind of like,
it was my first IndyCar race.
I'm like, they didn't pass, like, at all.
But it was fun.
Shoot, they were passing at the end of the race.
They were back and forth.
That was the most intense bar.
I enjoyed that, but most of the race is kind of.
I kind of like it was less passing, though, than it has been.
Yeah, for sure.
They had, you know, a couple years.
Remember two or three years ago they swapped a lead almost every corner.
I'm not 100% sure.
A lot of guys.
because of the fuel miles deal.
A lot of guys weren't
saving that.
I know a lot of them were trying to get into their windows
at certain points.
And honestly, I think the winner was short
until that caution.
That last caution, yeah.
So, you know, and I guess you'll hear,
I heard a couple times on the scanners
where they come on and tell them, you know,
change fuel map.
Yeah, that's their map.
Different maps where it just uses less fuel.
And the more fuel they burn, the faster they go, too.
So, but it was interesting.
Great win for,
The fastest car there all week, pretty much.
Last month, right?
Yeah, the last month.
He won the Grand Prix there and then.
Yep.
So great for, man, that's, how many is that for Rogers?
I think somebody said 18.
Yeah, 18.
18 Indy 500 wins.
That's not bad.
That's unreal, man.
And he's been there involved in every single one of them.
That's.
You hear him on the radio talk.
That's impressive, man.
He was calling out stuff to Helio.
It's one of them.
Yeah, that's impressive, man.
to be there and be involved in that many Indy 500 wins is, I don't, I'm not sure we'll see an odor come along that's, you know, invested and involved like Roger is in that. So, awesome, awesome for him to be there and accomplish that. More importantly, Jason, where did you park? Yeah. Actually, we got out so easily. Really? We parked like probably a half mile from the track and, like, go some bank lot and got out like that. It was easy. And we stayed like an hour.
I would imagine a lot of people stay after it.
Like, how long do you stay after that race?
Probably like 45 minutes.
So they do a lap around.
I'm not sure about after the race, but the winter does a lap around and people are like,
woo, and whatever.
Had that go?
It was good.
Yeah.
We said woo, we were a lot.
Say it again.
My favorite part of the day was you can start drinking at 630 and no one questions it.
It's awesome.
Did you go to the snake bed at all?
Nah, I wanted to go.
I saw it over there, but we didn't get to go check it out.
I saw it over there, but I was scared to death.
You want to go.
this uh i don't think we
i thought the weekend was pretty awesome for the memorial day stuff
yeah like the stuff like pre-race stuff our race stuff man coming down that moment of silence
actually was um kind of kind of chilling yeah
on tv a lot of people it was quiet it was just i mean it was quiet at the track like when
they shut the motors off and i was like we're all up there kind of like okay we'll see how this
goes and then it got everyone that moment of silence deal was um was pretty
awesome and they did a really good job of the pre-race stuff it was really entertaining like you
saw them helicopters come in and and uh very well put together this weekend i'm i think i hope it
keeps getting bigger and bigger for you know memorial day there with the you know celebrating and you know
all the families they bring in and stuff i hope it keeps getting bigger and bigger the next the next
few weeks during this nascar salutes window there's a lot of i know a lot of sponsors exfinity coke does a lot of
it but like they're hosting a ton of military families chicago's in the
one, Daytona. So if you're at the track, keeping out, it's really cool.
There's so many good tweets and stuff that people put out there about Memorial Day and
thanking, you know, everybody. But it's, we definitely want to, we definitely want to thank
everybody from here, you know, that what everybody does and what they've, what they do for us.
It doesn't go unnoticed. Yeah, I thought it was really cool during the intros, you know,
the driver would come out and introduce, you know, they had.
had a, you know, a military with them.
I thought that was really cool.
Yeah, I just hope it keeps growing and getting bigger.
I hope it keeps growing because I think it'd be cool to just keep, you know,
admiring them all they do for us.
Yeah, absolutely.
Just for the record, Brett has texted me Eric Jones three times,
and then text me and Jason.
He said, can you explain what you did to help me wreck off a turn two?
What I did?
Like, I guess his version of that wreck was that,
I guess Clint and Kyle checked up because you and Bowman got together and that's how they ended up to wreck.
I don't know.
I don't really.
It's always your fault.
I don't know why you did that.
Like we were, Alex left the bottom open and we drove in there and Alex tried to close the door and we already kind of had a little bit of a nose there.
And you know, you know when in this package, when two cars get really close, they kind of both changed up the racetrack a little bit.
and nobody that late in the race
you can't lift
like you got to try to go
you know and I don't think
that had anything to really do with what
they never even got to us
what he said was that Clint was
coming Clint was kind of doing the same thing
Alex was trying to chop off
Larson's run yeah that's what I saw
and then he said that like
as he was doing it he checked up
because you thought you guys were wrecking
and that got Larson back inside of them
and they ended up wrecking each other
I thought Larson got a little loose
Yeah, I thought so, too.
I looked at me like they just kind of held them down and Larson got loose and Rick.
Yeah, that's what I saw.
Hey, but...
Like we said, the blinders are on sometimes.
Anyway, I do have a little bit of a rant.
You do?
Yeah, I do.
Is it the same one I got? What do you got?
My rant is, you know, we talk about a lot of things on the show, and, you know,
and we're all, you know, we talk about a lot of things, and you can't go and make your own stuff up and put names on it when that's not what was said.
You can't, you can't take a...
You can't take a...
And then, you know, this happened last week, and I messes the guy, and I get told that, oh, I admit that I made words up and added to it because I thought it would be a good rumor to put out there what people would say. And then you put a name on it. You can't do that.
Like, it's not, if you're an aspiring journalist or something like that, you've got to get facts and what people say. You know, we can talk about a lot of things on the show where people, where we think people are going. But we don't speak for anybody, but what we think ourselves.
You can't go and just assume because Freddie works for Petty that what he's saying is what they're doing.
It has nothing to do with that.
All as we know is what we see on the track, and you might hear things around here and there what people think might happen.
But I had a guy, I had a kid last week to take something and attach my name to it that wasn't what I said at all.
And people have to answer questions.
You get asked questions about that.
and it shouldn't get to that point.
So, you know, we talk about a lot of things, and, you know, nobody, you can't go and you can't go and start a rumor because you think it would be a good one and see what people says and attach something.
If you think it's a good rumor, put it out there yourself.
Don't attach someone's name to it that didn't say it, basically.
And we kind of had that happen last week, but that kind of made me mad.
Like you said, like if you want to, like, we could put out some decent rumors on here, and a lot of times.
We can start any rumor we want.
Yeah, we can say anything.
Case is going to have a boy.
I'm just kidding.
You know what I mean?
Is that like fifth week in a row?
Ever since I got married, that's the topic.
But you just can't attach names.
You can add to it and make it sound juicier,
but then you can't use what we said because we didn't say that.
I guess I got mad when I got the message back saying,
yeah, I admit I added to it and twisted it to make it sound like a good rumor
so I could hear what people would say.
That made me really mad because, like, people listen
and then people start talking about it,
and it gets put out there.
Then owners are talking, hey,
what's this guy saying?
You know what I mean?
And when you didn't say it,
and it shouldn't get to that point.
People's jobs on the lines, too.
Facts are facts, but rumors are rumors.
And unless it's a, don't make something up
and put someone else's name on it, basically.
And it happens everywhere.
It happens all the time.
Reddit.
I love Reddit.
I think we all, I don't know how much you get on Reddit,
but obviously there's a lot of DBC listens on Reddit.
We love every one of them.
But like, every time I see DBC pop up on there,
I'm like, oh, boy, what do we do this week?
Or what do we say?
But none of this.
is like official word you know yeah we can talk about it and like i mean yeah we could
i mean you're gonna you're gonna be in a third uh car next year for what yeah yeah i'm gonna do
that great here we're gonna be a spotter yeah jason's gonna spot yeah jason's my spot yeah that's
ought to be great but so yeah but yeah that that kind of made me mad last week and it kind of got
blown out of a portion and um where um where do you think larston's gonna go next year
oh jeez oh man i think you stays and drives here for the rest of his career
Forever and ever.
Forever.
Geez.
Oh, boy.
You got to rant?
I just wanted to rant a little bit about, like, we still are struggling with
lineups.
Like, God, every week, it seems like, and it's just the fact, like, I forget, the
Xfinity race, we're coming down a backstretch, and they forgot to make the
nine serve his penalty.
So they pull him out of line, coming to green down a backstress, jumbles the
whole lineup up.
Yeah.
Is it just new personality, you think?
Yeah, they miss David Hoots a lot, I think.
And part of the problem is, like, like, that.
They need two guys, I feel like, because one guy is just trying to read the scoring monitor,
and he's not looking out the window.
So he's like that deal in the All-Star Race.
Was it the All-Star Race or was it Kansas where they screwed the whole lineup up?
Oh, it was Kansas.
Yeah.
So, like, that guy's looking at the monitor just trying to read the lineup as 12 cars are driving around everybody on the racetrack,
and he doesn't see it.
So then when he goes back, he's like, oh, so-and-so's behind the three on the bottom,
and I'm like, now the three's on the top.
But, you know, like, so it's just, they just need to do a better job of managing what's going on the racetrack.
as well as a scoring monitor, I feel like.
But I'm telling you, as spotters, we don't, there's a lot of them that don't do the best job because they, so we had an instance, we actually, I'm not going to use names or car numbers, but Fred, no, I'm 43.
We came off pit road in front of a guy, and by the time they got to the point of checking it, we were already doubled up.
And then we were, we didn't, we didn't fight it because I wasn't asked, I'm not going to ride around beside a guy because,
that's annoying on the racetrack.
I'm like, look, I'll get him to check it.
They checked it.
We're too wide.
We're going into turn one.
And they said, all right, well, you're in front of this car, so I go down under that guy.
And they said it twice on the radio.
I know he heard it.
And it was going to put us on the outside.
It was where we wanted to be.
And it's pretty easy to switch with a guy.
Yeah.
Hey, put this guy inside, this guy outside.
You know it's pretty easy to do.
Well, that guy didn't want to do it.
So he just stayed up there and act like they'd never heard it.
And I'm down there.
I'm like next to the spotter.
and I'm like, hey, you hear them.
Yeah, I mean, move.
Yeah.
I mean, we can help the scenario.
Like, keep your guy in line.
It only makes it worse when you pull up to where you think you should be and move around.
It makes it way worse whenever we just start moving around.
Just let them get it straight.
Yeah, let them call it out.
Well, you always see, like, especially coming, you know, you can take the one to go in the lead lap cars,
go to the front, and the lap down cars have to, you know, go behind them.
Yes.
There's always like that, I don't know, you probably don't feel with this,
but there's one lap down guy that, like, tries a tag on the bag of the leader and gets past 12 cars.
And there, you got, you got the guy that second or third in line going to pull up,
and he just, he's like in such a hurry to get there.
He passes one of the guys to get there, and then everything's messed up.
And when you get, when it gets double, when it gets double file, that's when it gets pretty messy.
But, you know, we as spotters, too, there's, you can help out.
Like, when you, when you hear NASCAR call out your number, where you're supposed to be,
put your guy there.
Don't argue or tell him, you know, don't negotiate with your driver on where you're supposed to be.
NASCAR just told you where you're supposed to be.
Do the right thing.
Do it.
You earn to this spot back here.
Go there.
You know, but I know for a fact that he didn't want to move because he wanted the outside lane restart.
Yeah, I want to be on top.
Yeah.
So it's like you're messing the whole lineup up for your own good.
And that's why I think that has a lot to do with it because lane choice is so important.
important now. You don't want to move out of the lane until it's late. You don't want to move
until NASCAR says, hey, get out of there. I'm going to post you. But you're going to stay there,
right? Yeah, absolutely. So did you, did you, did you, did you, did you, um, did you, um, did you, um, did you, um, did you,
watch, you, would, you didn't really around anybody. We had 10 cars either way. And, um, my guy, I was
on for Garrett Smithley and he wasn't really around anybody. We had 10 cars either way. And I'm just
watching car after car after car, after car hit this debris and we have no yell. The guy, the turn
three officials like, hey, we've got debris in the groove over here. Crickets. Run and running. He's
like, yeah, it's up and it's up by the safer barrier now rolling down a hill. So now I'm not
even spotting my car. I'm just spotting the debris so my guy doesn't hit it. But they said it put
a giant hole in Cole Custer's nose. Like Christopher Bell says he thinks he cut a tire because of it.
Like it happened both times.
That's what happened in the stage.
The two Brandon and Christopher.
But, you know, like, I understand the stage is getting ready to come up,
but that's just unsafe.
You have to throw the yellow.
If there's a debris on a racetrack, you have to throw the yellow flag.
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, I would throw it before that before one of them guys brushed the wall and keep going.
Yeah, like.
We throw the caution when a guy brushes the wall.
Yeah.
I forget who it was.
Somebody got sideways on the apron, the caution came out immediately,
but we have a giant piece of debris laying in the middle of the raceback,
and we stay green.
Speaking of Bell, did you watch the sprint car race?
last night? I did not. I heard it got him and Larson.
Oh, they were, it was a great race.
Yeah.
Yeah, Larson got inside of and kind of ran him up a little bit into one and Chris forgot
into the, he was in the, uh, jumped the cushion on the entry and flipped it over a couple
times.
Oh.
So he was okay and everything, but great race, fun to watch.
You got anything that ran about?
Um, I just have to apologize to Courtney, one of our listeners who I met this weekend and
tweeted that all of us to come meet her after practice and, and you,
y'all bailed. Did you get any message from her? I got a message like 20 minutes for the
expinity race. I didn't get any message from Casey. Courtney, I don't know what she's talking about.
What the heck? I have the message in the goofy chat. Are you trying to meet the followers for your
own good? No, I saw her when I was like in a meeting her. Why don't you include us? I did. And she
tweeted. She tweeted that you guys too. Why don't you include us? You guys are the worst. Well,
either way, Courtney, it was so great meeting you and anybody else who's in. Courtney, we're sorry she didn't
tell us. I took it. I didn't have services to track. She tweeted you. She tweeted you.
I took a couple pictures with some fans this week, so I met them in the garage.
They were nice.
That was nice.
But I didn't see Courtney.
Well, Courtney, if you come back in October.
September.
Or, I mean, anybody in Pocono and Michigan, we can all be at the next few.
We'll be on the roof.
Yeah, just don't go through our point of contact to the track.
Casey, she's obviously really bad.
She doesn't do it very good.
I messaged you guys a million times.
I don't think it was a million.
I don't think I've gotten a million texts in my life.
You guys are the worst.
Well, hopefully we can catch up with you, Courtney.
Thanks for Casey getting up with you and hopefully she was entertaining.
She's super nice.
So good luck.
Do you see picks?
Eric Jones.
Do I have Suarez left?
I probably already picked him.
I don't.
I think you picked him already.
I think I did too.
I did.
I'm an idiot.
Idiot.
Dang it.
I suggest Corey Lejoy.
I suggest you don't do that.
I will take.
Oh, boy.
I don't want to lose, man.
You know what you guys need to do next year is do like,
you need like a bonus point if you pick the winner.
I know, I was just thinking that.
If you guys pick the actual winner of the race.
Let's see.
I think I'll take, I'm going to take Chase Elliott.
Good pick.
Yeah, I'm going to Chase Elliott.
T.J. does not want to lose this year.
No, no, man.
I'm hanging in there.
I think I got a couple straight up wins.
I think I got some wins.
Do I?
It doesn't have the winner on the race, does it?
No.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
You only got one.
Yeah, last year I had more than Brett last year, so I probably should have won last year.
Did you not watch a movie?
Yeah, I didn't watch a movie, so I took that out.
Oh, fail.
I was wondering where that was.
Sorry, didn't get it.
Wow, I guess the snake pit was too crazy.
Yeah, it got late, too late to watch a movie.
All right, well, thank you guys for listening.
Shortest show ever.
It was for the show weird.
We hustled that one, so get Casey out of here.
You're welcome, Casey.
Thanks, guys.
Yeah, Casey's got an appearance.
with some fans she didn't tell us about.
She and Christopher Bill.
It's called work.
Brett should be back next week.
Hopefully some good stories from the yachts with Clint Boyer.
There'll be no stories they can tell on this show.
We just need a tell-all show for that.
What if it comes back with like a no, like he got bit?
Like he got bit by a shark attack?
Yeah, like he got bit.
It's really funny because his wife, Claudia, is with him,
and she is like, if a minnow brushes her leg, she freaks out in the lake,
So I'm really looking forward to seeing how she did with sharks.
His next tweet is going to be vacation problem and it's a shark attack.
Which is a real vacation problem.
All right.
Well, if you're at the track, be sure to tweet us.
Maybe they'll not be lame and see you guys.
It won't be 300 degrees.
Yeah, that was kind of the part of the problem.
All right. Thanks for joining us.
Have a good week, everyone.
I'll see you.
