Starting point is 00:00:32 minimum listenership. I like money. It's everything you need to make a podcast in one place. We love using Anchor. It's a great platform that lets us hear from the fans and reaction theater with Anchors leave a message feature. So when you create your account with Anchor, you can also utilize their feature
Starting point is 00:00:49 and make your own podcast. TJ will be your first guest. So download the free Anchor app or go to anchor.fm.com to get started. That's A-N-C-H-O-R.fm to get started. This is Dale Jr. and you're listening to Dirty Moe radio.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Outside, door, bumper, clear of the 18th. Best car I had here in a long time. You're going to do it. You're going to win it. Right with you. You're clear. Check the flag. You're in.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Hey, everybody. I'm T.J. Majors, Spotter the 88, the 7xfinity car, and the 29 truck. And joining me today in his blue shoes. Brett Griffin, Spotter Clint Boyer, Elliot Sadler, and we have a special guest in the house. Kristen Bauer, please introduce her. We are thrilled to have Mrs. Christavoto with us here today. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Actual talent and beauty in this room now. Yeah, the girl beauty is now way above the guy beauty. We've been kicking your ass all years. Brought it up a notch. You know, TJ and I've been married a long time. This almost feels like a double date right now. It does. But you two don't know what to do.
Starting point is 00:02:03 And we're awkward and nervous right now. It's because we're shorter than y'all. And then I realized Josh is here, and then it's really awkward. He's the chaper. Yeah. I really am. I'm thrilled to be here because I love your show. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:15 I'm not only am I a fan, but I feel like you guys know, too, I'm a fan of the spotters. I mean, the hauler drivers and the spotters, I feel like you guys are my people. You're in a small group. So Krista hits me up after like our second show, and she's like, man, I got to come on this show. You guys are awesome. So thank you for coming. Yeah. We have a good time, that's for sure.
Starting point is 00:02:37 But I'd like to thank Exalta and one main for giving us this opportunity to be able to do this stuff. We've got an awesome studio here, and it's really awesome they give us a chance to do this stuff. The Exaltor Racing has reached and passed 20,000 followers on Twitter. So for step two, everyone needs to go to Pocono Raceway.combe. Backslash. Backslash. And fill out the form so you can win $88,000 if Dale wins the Exulta 400. I actually talked to Brandon.
Starting point is 00:03:07 I talked to Brandon yesterday at Pocono Raceway. He's such a great guy. He is. He's one of the best presidents in this industry right now. They do a lot at Pocono, too, for the fans. Yes. But now me being on here, am I now exempt from winning $88,000 because I've done the show? I've been entering like $60,000.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Oh, you have? Yeah. Just keep entering. I guess if T.J can win it. I've made up like 15,000 Twitter accounts involved. I'm just kidding. It's free money, so go and do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:34 DM T.J on Twitter now. Yeah, I am. getting some awesome direct messages. He's opened up his direct messages to the public. No, this is going public. Yeah, we're doing it. No, I don't mind. I mean, yeah, I don't mind getting some criticism.
Starting point is 00:03:48 So everybody, when this show, when you hear it, the millions of people listening, please send TJ a direct message. Yeah, slide into my DMs like, I can't wait for these gifs. Yeah, use like rebuttals and stuff. Stuff like that. So the All-Star Race, man. What, Krista, did you watch it? I did.
Starting point is 00:04:06 What did you think? I was at the tractor pole, but I still managed to... The better question is, did you watch it? Yeah. I watched it, but I don't remember it. I got a question. So you got a, this is a little off top where we get, you got a blue camo. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:20 What do you, like, what do you lay on water and hide? No, man, I'm just... Yeah, it's sort of an oxymoron, isn't it? Yeah, I mean, that's, you're not really, blue camo. Camo is the coolest clothing item you can have. If you're hiding. If you're from page in South Carolina. It's America's away colors.
Starting point is 00:04:37 I mean, Come on, Cammo. America's away colors. When we wear camo, we're about to kick your ass. Stuff goes down five minutes from now. You got Camo on. Where are you going to hide? Today I can hide out in the blue sky because I got on blue camo.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Are you going to sit next to the one main holler and be like, oh, can't see me? Yeah. It's my strategy for the race tonight. I got on blue camo. I'll wear my digital blue camo, one main helmet. You better wipe the mud off it. From last week. Yeah, you guys have a big race tonight.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Yeah, we do. Banners all over town. There are. All right, back to the Allsard. So I thought it had potential to be good. I thought the race was good. I thought the racing was good. And it had potential. It's a shame that something like this happened the way it did
Starting point is 00:05:24 because it had potential to be a pretty exciting race. And something got thrown in there that nobody really thought what happened or expect to happen. And it's a shame that it got to that. But the racing was good. The racing was probably the best. we've seen in years on a downforce track. Yeah, I thought we were going to win. I'm not going to lie, that last 13-lap segment,
Starting point is 00:05:43 we had Jimmy and Kyle on the front row, and we were a second row on the outside with new tires. And we had Larson and Logano on the bottom, and I thought they were going to get pinned on the bottom. I'm like, dude, we're going to be leading by, like, 10 car lengths at start, finish line next lap. Yeah. And Kyle went down in there and drove in and missed the bottom,
Starting point is 00:06:01 and they all were able to sneak by, and we went four wide around the outside, and we couldn't quite get back around them. but I thought I was pretty excited about the last segment. Lugano wins a million bucks. A million. Almost as many followers as we have. And this is the thing that gets me about our All-Star race, right?
Starting point is 00:06:19 When you look at other All-Star events, they're pretty lame, right? Ours is 200 miles an hour, racing for a million bucks. Pro Bowl is terrible. Everything. I mean, all the All-Star. I mean, trust me, they're all for the fans. They all bring in their big names. I get it.
Starting point is 00:06:31 But our All-Star race is a true race. And I saw somebody yesterday say, well, but it's about gimmicks. No, it's not. It's a race for a million dollars, you dumbass. Look at the race. This is really. This is how you'd answer.
Starting point is 00:06:43 How about the race to get into it? I mean, we had two guys beating off each other to get into that race. Yes. And they can't even touch them in a Pro Bowl. My thoughts, you know, I liked on the showdown format. I liked the idea of the winner of each segment getting in. I thought that was cool because it sort of added something to each segment. There was a value.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Right. I think I agree with you guys. The racing in the All-Star race was fantastic. I think it, unfortunately, became undershadowed or overshadowed by the confusion, the confusion and the controversy. Similar going back to Martinsville, you know, Jeff Gordon wins Martinsville and all we're talking about is Kenseth and Lugano. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:17 That's unfair. Right. You know, coming off the All-Star race, all we're talking about is the format and the confusion, and you had great racing. And I think that's, I mean, if anything, I think the 600 is going to be fantastic. I think there's a lot of hype because of what we saw the racing in the All-Star race. And to address the confusion for second, guy named David, who just calls a race, he's got a lot of people behind him in his ear telling him what to do.
Starting point is 00:07:39 He usually does a phenomenal job, and T.J. will attest to this, for whatever reason, and I wasn't listening on Saturday night because I was at home watching, but somebody got confused and somebody wasn't able to get out of it. What were they saying on the radio? It was absolutely silent, and we all had no idea. There was either two ways to fix that what happened. It was keep everything locked, a penalty, and that was going to basically ruin the format for having all them cars, having the guys with tires and the last minute come around cars with no tires. That was going to erase all that, basically.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Or you wave the, you put the 20 in there, and then you wave around the cars that were in front of the 19 and put them back on the lead lap and then go back at it. That would have created the outcome that everyone was expecting that would happen. And they were really quiet.
Starting point is 00:08:30 NASCAR channel was quiet. It was very quiet. We were all, I feel bad for the official that was on the roof. because we were wearing him out. I heard Kevin Hamlin was really wearing him out. Yeah, we were all wearing him out. Just so the fans know, too, we have a channel in our ear, the spotters do,
Starting point is 00:08:45 where NASCAR tells us what the procedures, what the formats are going to be, and how it's all going to happen. So by T.J. saying it's silent, it means they literally didn't know. Right. And then you're communicating that to your driver. We're the liaison to the driver, yeah. They don't, I don't think they made the wrong call. I don't.
Starting point is 00:08:59 The guy had a penalty. They weren't expecting somebody to have a penalty, but in, they don't. didn't really make a wrong call. Right. There wasn't really a right way to fix it, to be honest with you. There wasn't really a right way to do it. So I don't think they made a wrong call. It's just unfortunate that it happened that way.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Yeah. And sometimes I think, yeah, a scenario came up that they didn't expect and the rules didn't really fit. Yeah. And I think it's, you know, that happens, I think, in life, too, where something comes up and you don't know to ask it until it happens. Yeah. And they're like, so, yeah, I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:09:27 It wasn't, it wasn't that anything went wrong other than... I don't think the format. It was exciting. I mean, there was some excitement. I mean, you had a long run, so you had a chance to be fast and get out front. You had a chance to be good at the end of a run, too. Right. But it also created the, when's that guy pitting?
Starting point is 00:09:41 When's this guy pitting? You know, and then obviously I think it was Chase or somebody that tried to hit pit road. Right. I thought we were going to be in that. Right. But, I mean, that's the, that force us into that. I think that last statement would have been good with about three rows or four rows of cars with no tires. That would have been pretty exciting.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yeah. I guess it's the only frustrating thing for me sitting at home watching you. is you know there's confusion, you know it's an all-star event. We've seen them, you know, kind of make changes quickly in all-star events, like when they let us bring out backup cars from Jeff Gordon Wreck going at a one when the track was wet. So, like, you just sit there and you're like, yeah, they're going to fix it. They're going to fix it.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Oh, we're just going to go back racing. I don't know what's going to happen now. I don't know what they'll do with next, but the only also race to me should be short segments with fall off on tires, pit if you want. Yeah. If you want a chance that stay out on 12, 15-lap tires, then, you know, let them do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:35 So, I mean, I think that would be exciting. Crystal, we're going to dive into spot on, spot off. And Kristen is going to tell us what we're talking about. And then you have to pick your either forward or against it. Just take a nap because it takes about four minutes of reach this right here. Spot on, spot off. Five drivers transfer to the All-Star race from the showdown. I say spot off.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I think that's too many drivers. This All-Star race is about being elite. Elite means winning. It means winning a championship, winning a previous All-Star race. Five guys is about three too many. Spot off as well. I wanted to see Ryan Blaney in that race. I wanted to see him in that race.
Starting point is 00:11:17 That dude's up there racing. The way he's ran this year, he should have been in that All-Star race to me. And I don't know. I feel like we got better ways to put people in there. See, I just like to stir the pot, so I'm going to say spot on. Not that necessarily five is the right number. Like I said, I like the idea of each segment advancing, and I like the idea of one fan vote winner.
Starting point is 00:11:37 So I think four maybe would have been the right number. But I just like that that showdown had a lot of value to sort of every single lap. I wish we could vote one at the track, like let the fans at the track pick one somehow. Based on how hard they're racing or something. Yeah, like that dude got a penalty. And Dagnar came back up through and almost got back into it again. I feel like he could have got voted in. And he would have made the racing exciting.
Starting point is 00:11:59 and the, you know. Trevor Bain makes a hell of a move to win his first seven. Greg Biffle wins his based solely on Brian Patty's strategy to pit, get lefts, and come right back out, get rights. Now he's the only car with four fresh tires and start the second segment. Third segment was, as we all saw, a heck of a race. Every segment was awesome. It just shows the need to be the thing, you know, to win the segment.
Starting point is 00:12:21 And then Chase, thankfully, gets the fan vote because he went into the show and helped it. Yeah, he was a part of it. He was a part of it, you know, and Kyle Larson, again, a part of it. But five just seems like a lot, you know. I struggle with that number. I mean, it might be a lot when, how many were in it before the five? I don't think five's too many then. I think a 20-car all-star race is pretty good.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Jeff Gordon would have been 16, and then he obviously didn't run it. He was eligible, so. I think 20 is a good all-star number. Spot-on, spot off, the new rules package. I do spot-on so far. At least they're trying to go on the right direction, and they're taking away down for us, and that's what we need. I say spot on, and I liked the definition you guys gave.
Starting point is 00:13:03 I think it was on the show last week. You guys talked about, hey, this is taking away the corner speed, and this is what's going to happen, and when you're off throttle, you can pass. It was like, that makes sense, so I say spot on. I say spot on just because you agreed with our show last week, and you actually listened. So, yeah, spot on next. So wait, you're not saying spot on to the rules package.
Starting point is 00:13:19 You're just saying spot on to me. I'm just saying spot on to you. All right, I like that. Yes. Spot on, spot off. Chase almost pulls a JPM. Who was JPM? I didn't see this.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Did you see this? No. So Josh... I was probably doing air pressures on the pulling tractor. The truck. Yeah. So Josh sends me a link last night of Chase Elliott almost hitting a safety vehicle.
Starting point is 00:13:39 And when I say almost hit it, like he almost hit it. So spot on for his effort to not actually hit it. Holy cow. I didn't see it when it happened, but I saw the replay and it was close. Did you see it? I didn't see him come off pit road
Starting point is 00:13:53 because I think he was fixing damage when he was doing this. he had got damage in that wreck off of 4, and I think he was in and out off pit road a lot. And I don't know, I don't think it was something that he snuck up on. I think it was an instance where he was going to go to the outside of the safety trucks, and NASCAR was telling us to go to the bottom. And you know how they like to keep cars on one side of the stage of trucks or another.
Starting point is 00:14:17 So I think that's what happened right there. I don't, I mean, they were working on that part of the track a lot, too. under caution. So that wasn't something new. And that's something, it's hard to tell. You know what I'm talking about. When you're coming off the corner, it's kind of hard to tell where exactly your car is.
Starting point is 00:14:33 That kind of like me going to the bathroom, dude, at that same time. I'm sure. But it's hard to tell where your car is exactly high or low on the track sometimes coming off there. But I don't think that's as close as it looked. I don't think it is. If you could hear the announcers on the clip, you would think he's hit. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I mean, it was a little exaggerated. You know how those TV people are, though. Yeah. I know. Who even lets us in. the building. We, you know what? We do.
Starting point is 00:14:59 We love drama. You know what? You think? We love. And I don't know if that's, if you're born with that or once you start working in television, it's just sort of like. Well, you're a woman. Of course, you were born with it.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Very nice. I know. Yeah. That didn't take long. That was no. How long have been to the 10 minutes? 10 minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Spot on, spot off. Racing with no practice or qualifying. Christa, you get first in this way. Yeah. Well, I say spot off just because that's, especially with the new rules
Starting point is 00:15:25 package, that's just a little too hairy, I think. And I'm saying spot on and here's why, because the more practice these engineers and these Sim guys get and these crew chiefs get, the more parity we get. And parity means everybody goes the same speed. So I'm against watching a 200-mile-hour parade. I want to see a race and I feel like no practice. And when I sent out a tweet, I said, man, we're going to find out who has the best crew chief, the best simulation, and the best engineer in the first 20 laps of the first race and the first 20 minutes of practice. And I had Rodney Childers and Dax, like, crew chiefs and engineers clicking like, like, like, and I'm like, yeah, because they get it because that puts the pressure on them.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Did you send out any tweets on Saturday? Saturday, I had to stop tweeting because I quit. You got a little. I was like, I'm done. Yeah. It was my birthday. I'll spot on that as well. You know, preparation starts in the shop.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Yeah. You don't go to the racetrack with a race car that's not ready to hit the racetrack. It's a shame. Well, some of us. Well, that's questionable. We set the cars with the shop and they're supposed to be ready to hit the race. racetrack. We go to the race track. We take them apart again and we put them back together to go on the racetrack again. So they should unload basically racetrack ready. And it's not the first time
Starting point is 00:16:35 we've been to these places. And this rolls package isn't a huge, it's not a huge deal. So I don't I'm spot on with it. I think these guys are some of the best in the world. These tracks aren't, you know, hard to learn. Yeah, they're not new to them. Yeah, I know. So I like it. Cool. We're taking a quick break. We'll be right back. Thanks to one main. We're going to have a quick message, and then we're jumping into Kristen's favor. Hey, guys, this is Elliot Soutler, drive the one main Chevrolet for J.R. Motorsports. There are a lot of perks that come with driving for Dale Jr., but one of the biggest perks of my job is getting a hangout with my fans. I'll be signing autographs this weekend near the track.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Be sure to check out OneMainRacing.com for all the info on other upcoming One Main Branch appearances throughout the season. I'll be signing autographs, giving away some swag, and yes, taking selfies. That's One Main Racing.com for all the info. See you at a branch real soon. So let's head into Fast Lane and a quick overview of what Fast Lane is. T.J. Brett and Krista are going to get a topic to debate. Who's yawning? Me.
Starting point is 00:17:39 And each will get 30 seconds to voice their opinion. And the person who responded first will go to 30 second rebuttal. First one. Krista, you're up first. So Krista, you go first and then you go last. I have 30 seconds. Okay, gotcha. So you know what?
Starting point is 00:17:51 This is just literally this is just like tractor pulling because if you have the first hook, you can choose to drop it and take another one. So I can do this. I can relate to this. You ready? You didn't know how redneck I was. I didn't until this morning. I mean, how are you talking?
Starting point is 00:18:07 The format for the Sprint All-Star race last weekend was a little confusing and baffled everyone. There was a lot of confusion from the drivers, officials, broadcast, and teams. If you could structure it, what format would you go with? KV. Ooh. Well, I say you take whatever you have in your garage and you just show up at the racetrack with it. And maybe not to that effect. I think you, I like shorter segments.
Starting point is 00:18:27 I think you do need a pit stop. I don't know exactly where you structure it in between first and second segment maybe. By like shorter laps. Just make it simpler. You just have to make it more simple for the fans. I want to do something. I always wondered where that came from. Yeah. Kristen has it.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I want to do something just ludicrous. Like I want to go backwards. Instead of us going to turn left, like let's set these cards up and go and turn right. You normally do. So let's do reverse laps for the All-Star race. I think it would be cool. I would probably, I like short segments with tire fall off, and maybe in the last segment have a green flag pit stop or something.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Maybe a 20-lap last segment with a green flag pit stop in the middle somewhere. Put the pit crews on the block there and let them do their work. I don't really have anything to rebuttal with, so I'm going to use my 30 seconds to say, did you guys see, there's a story on CNN, two stories yesterday. one was about the fact that dinosaurs may have had lips. And then I'm like, I'm not clicking on that. And then the next one was a man, a man walked out of a hotel and hailed a cab completely naked.
Starting point is 00:19:33 I said, now that one I'm clicking. That was Brett Saturday night. That was actually me. You just couldn't see him because he had his camo. Blue camo. Blue camo. Kyle Larson showed the fans at CMS's true racing talents this past weekend. He not only raced his way into the All-Star Race,
Starting point is 00:19:49 but he also battled Joey Lughey. for the lead during the race. Will he be a factor for the 600, Brett? Okay. I'm going to say this, and I'm going to say it proudly, Kyle Larson at Dover, Kyle Larson at the All-Star race is the show. He is the standard to which other drivers need to measure their ability to entertain people in the stands. These guys need to stop being buddies in the motorhome lot and go out there and race their ass off, which is what Kyle Larson did. Will he be a factor absolutely if he'll stop hitting the wall? I agree. I mean, I think at some point he'll
Starting point is 00:20:22 be a factor that's a long race though and there's a they uh they showed a lot of perseverance stuff at dover though and that's a tough place to stay alive for all them laps so i look forward to seeing him be competitive uh sunday night that we race sunday night yeah yeah i think he will be a factor like you said the momentum he's had the last two weeks um i mean since you guys were in spotter community i think derricks he and derrick's relationship is fantastic i like i mean you talk about staying off the wall but that's what makes him so exciting and ildora last year what he did at el dora last year was sort of like he just is such an exciting racer. So yeah, he'll be a factor. There's no doubt that his team has found speed. This guy didn't all of a sudden wake up and remember how to drive again,
Starting point is 00:21:03 but they're giving him cars capable of running in the top 10. He's showing the talent level that he has. We need this kid to win a race. We need him to win soon because he's the future. I mean, he and Blaney and Chase Elliott and Austin Dillon and even Lugano. These guys have to become dominant in order to keep our fan base excited. Kevin Harvick, Sunday, multi-year deal with S. The rumor was that he was going to replace Casey and the five at HMS. Ford has definitely stepped up their driver lineup. Who do you think will be the dominant manufacturer in the Cup series in 2017? Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I don't know. It's just the playing field's so even. Whoever works the hardest in the off season. And, you know, obviously right now, you know, we're trying to, we're, most of us are chasing the Gibbs cars. But, you know, everybody's working hard. And I feel like we're making progress in great. digging them are doing really good, but I don't know. I don't really have a lot to say about this topic. I love when you say something. I think even though Toyota is sort of the dominate with the Joe Gibbs cars,
Starting point is 00:22:02 I think you have to, I still look at Chevrolet as sort of the benchmark. And I think with Jimmy Johnson, with Chase Elliott, you know, with, I just think it's hard to go against. So I'm going to say Chevrolet. So I look at this and I say, okay, Toyota is dominating right now. You know, Chevrolet was the dominant manufacturer. Now I think it's Toyota. And I think Ford goes, man, how do we get back in this game? Well, they buy Stuart Haas, not literally the team, but they buy their rights to be their manufacturer. So they have just up their level field, their playing field. Chevrolet just lost their arguably best team right now with a four car. So what are you going to do to go out and replace them?
Starting point is 00:22:38 You've got to get off your butts and you better be aggressive because you'll get passed. And Tom will go by you in this sport. Is that good for the sport? Man, it changes it, you know? I mean, I like they're putting more effort into it. I think that's cool. I mean, I was literally looking at five years ago. T.J. is Hendrick as a manufacturer.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Roush is a manufacturer. And then Toyota as a manufacturer. And now we've seen Ford realign. Go get Penske. Go get Stuart Haas. Holy cow, that's a powerful stable. You know, they're literally, their third team is going to be Roush Racing, who five years ago was a powerhouse. So, man, I don't, Chevrolet is getting behind in terms of, okay, now their best organization is Hendrick,
Starting point is 00:23:21 which clearly makes sense. Now their second best organization is who? Childress, Gannasi, when have they won? You just lost winners. You lost championship winners, right? That's big. I know Chevrolet's paying you a lot of money and give you that big suburban you got out there.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Hey, man, they better get off their butts. That keeps the Lamborghini in the garage clean. The Coke 600 is a tough and grueling race for everyone involved in. is a true test of willpower. Should NASCAR consider shortening the race or will tradition in history keep it at 600 miles? Especially the spotters.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Krista. Oh, I'm up first. I say you have to. I'm all for shortening races, not the 600. I think if you shorten it, then Dale Jr. is not going to know what to do because he's not going to call it the world 600. He's still going to call it the world 600.
Starting point is 00:24:11 But yeah, I think the history and tradition, you have to keep traditions somewhere. And I think even though it's a long race, and it is, I mean, I know it's long for you guys up on the spot. understand. It's long for everyone, but I think, yeah, I think that one should stay 600. There's honestly longer feeling races than this one, though. That's true. I mean, I feel like we go to someplace and there's actually races that feel like they're
Starting point is 00:24:32 six, 700 miles sometimes. So I don't feel like this one's over, overdone, but I do like the history behind it, and I think they should keep it 600 miles. But I'm all for shortening races as well a little bit. I'm all for keeping this of 600 because of the heritage and the history and the legacy of basically this race. I too am for shortening races because it drives me bananas that Pocono has two 400 mile races. Like where is the branding? How can you brand that? Like Bristol has a day race and the night race. You know, Darlington's a Southern 500. Like if I'm a track and I have two dates, I don't want them to be the same. I want one to be a 300, one to be a 400 or vice versa, whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:09 So you want Pocono to go back to one of one 500? I think one should be a 300 or one should be a 400. I'm just making sure you want to go back. Or one should be a 300. So I mean, I just I don't, I'm a branding marketing guy and it drives me bananas on how a track can try to sell the same experience twice try to sell two different experiences so you like the 499 499 aaron's 499 you know what dover when it was 500 miles felt like it took three days to run dover was too long you know that is a long race but i still look at dover now and now we do 200 mile races like why is it the chase race 300 or 400 and make the other one 300 i like i like for it to be different you know because these teams especially these drivers feel a sense of urgency.
Starting point is 00:25:50 And I'll say this about these rookies coming in. Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, these guys are running up front, which means they're driving their butts off. These older guys aren't going to be able to cruise around here and run top five anymore. Like they're going to have to bust their butts to be able to keep up with them. And so a sense of urgency creates what we saw in the All-Star race in the showdown.
Starting point is 00:26:07 I don't know if two other guys, too, I'm not really sure if you would have seen that open race finish if it was two other guys that have been in the sport for a while. I'm not sure you would have seen them beating off his door's that hard. I can't believe one of them didn't get turned into the wall. I thought they were. Yeah. And I'm not really sure you would have seen that with two other guys. You know, they'd have been, oh, you got me.
Starting point is 00:26:28 We'll hit a little bit, but you got me. Yeah. They went for it. They were going for it, man. It was awesome. Yeah. So the future of the sport looks good. In terms of the people and they're racing.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Yeah. It's just, yeah, there's... I did get my haircut. I tell you what I'm worried about that. Wait, what does that have to do with anything? When you went... The future of the sport looks good. Oh.
Starting point is 00:26:46 You're in the downfall. When you look at the future of a sport, from a talent standpoint, you say yes. But then you look at it and you say, okay, Dale Jarrett left recently, Jeff Gordon left recently, Tony Stewart is leaving. Those guys sell a lot of tickets. They bring a lot of eyeballs to the show. That's why we need these guys to win because in three years from now, we're going to need those guys selling tickets and bringing eyeballs.
Starting point is 00:27:13 And they can and they will. They're good. The off-the-wall topic, the NFL Pro Bowl, is reportedly moving from Honolulu to Orlando next year. What is your opinion on the Pro Bowl and should there even be one? Josh comes up with these questions, Krista. There's a lot of typos. We struggle through some of this. Pro Bowl, in my opinion, man, it's awesome because it brings the best players in their game to one place.
Starting point is 00:27:38 I personally am not going to go to Honolulu to see them. I probably won't go to Orlando. This says Orlando is Orlando. Josh doesn't have a mic today either, so we can. really give him a hard time. So I probably won't go to Orlando either, but yeah, there should definitely be a Pro Bowl. I think there should be a Pro Bowl, but I rarely tune into it now. I don't watch it.
Starting point is 00:27:57 I don't care to go to it. They're not allowed to hit each other. There's two guys playing catch. I don't want to go watch two guys play catch. I mean, I want to see guys go and play. They know not to take each other's heads off, but they should still be able to tackle. And, I mean, it's going to come to an end anyway when somebody gets hurt in the Pro Bowl. I do think there should be a Pro Bowl.
Starting point is 00:28:18 I'm with you. Who watches it? And I try to think back, did we watched it more as kids. I guess as a kid. I remember watching it. I would look forward to it. Yeah. And so I don't know if that's just with age,
Starting point is 00:28:26 if it, you know, you kind of take the blinders off. Well, they used to hit back then a little bit. They used to actually play. Like, now they don't really, you can't touch the quarterback, and they throw deep balls and the guy, you're supposed to let the guy catch it. It's just a lot of handshakes and a lot of hugs. And so, yeah, I mean, my question now, though, is instead of triple XL Hawaiian shirts, it's going to be like triple Xl Mickey Ears.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Yeah, pretty much. Leave the bromance at home and go play football. It's a pro ball. Go hit each other. Don't give concussions, but I mean, yeah, I mean. Play the game. Yeah, play the game. But it's like the NBA game.
Starting point is 00:28:59 The NBA game, they scored 2,000 points on each team, you know, and you're like, what? Yeah. I mean, that one, at least they dunk and stuff. Yeah. It goes back to what we said. This is, we have the best all-star format of any sport. Well, it's like the real quick, though. It's like the slam dunk competition.
Starting point is 00:29:12 I used to look forward to that because they used to have guys do it, like Michael Jordan was in it. stuff like that. Now I couldn't even tell you. They don't even have the guys that we would. Yeah. Like I looked forward to watching Vince Carter do two spins in the air we slammed, but now they got guys that are in there that I don't even know who they are. Yeah. Hey, we got to talk about the Indy 500. That in here or no. We got this, it's the ND 500 week. The Indy 500 is tonight. Me. That's the little, that's the little 600. I know the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500th running. The 100th running. Those guys are on the pool. I'm excited for it. I'm excited. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Crystal wanted to say the word balls on here today, so I'm going to say it forward. Those guys have big balls. I did. I came in and I asked if it's okay to say balls. And Brett's like, what do you play? I go, well, I don't know. What context? Yeah, I just need to know if it comes up in a conversation if I'm okay to say it.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Yeah. So thank you for saying that. You're welcome. I'll avoid it. Go ahead. And to confirm, there's no one doing a double. Correct. There's no one pulling a double this year.
Starting point is 00:30:10 No. No balls. No balls. Those guys are crazy. Yeah. The speeds are the highest. they've ever been the racing, the practices have been nuts. It's scary to watch that stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:21 So did you tune into that practice yesterday? Would you let your kid race IndyCar right now? No. Me either. Would you? No. Oh my goodness. Did you tune into that practice?
Starting point is 00:30:31 Like when people, no, not yesterday, but I saw some highlights. Holy cow, I clicked on it. I went in there and I was like, I thought it was a race. Yeah. I mean, there was drafts and passing, running each other out of the grass and a bow, I'm like, holy cow, man. When people get on the Danica hate train, I say this, hey, she's been two 225 miles an hour at Indy.
Starting point is 00:30:48 She's not scared. And she's just She's still figuring it out. She's almost won the Indy 500. Yes. Well, and remember when Dario came into the sport, he didn't take to it, right? I mean, it's a completely different race car.
Starting point is 00:31:01 It's a completely different animal. Juan is the only guy to come in and somewhat adapt, other than Tony. Tony's special. And it was been in Watt's struggle too. Yeah. I mean, Want struggle too. He never won an oval.
Starting point is 00:31:14 No. And Danica, I think. is Danica's done well. I mean, I've worked her with in the beginning, and she knew nothing about our racing. So to come from knowing nothing, and at least in Tony's, Tony has raced way before.
Starting point is 00:31:27 He's run everything since he was little, not just straight up road courses and IndyCar stuff. He ran everything. Danica was pretty much straight Indy car. So for her to come over and do what she's done, it's actually pretty remarkable what she's done. Who do you like to see when at, Krista? Oh, the Indy 500?
Starting point is 00:31:43 I think Hinchcliff would be cool. Just coming back with, what he's been through. I think, and I think he's just a likable guy. I like him. You talk about marketing. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:52 I would go with Hinchcliff. Was he in, at Homestead? I think he was at Homestead. I met him. He came to the tweet up there and I met him. He was a super nice guy. He came to your tweet up?
Starting point is 00:32:02 Well, it wasn't mine. It was Bob's. TJ. TJ has a little tweet. I go to about three or four a year and I went to that one. And he happened to be there. And it was pretty cool. I met a guy that actually owns the,
Starting point is 00:32:12 uh, at Door Bumper Clear Twitter account. He asked me if I wanted it, but I didn't want it. For a million dollars. Yeah, for a million. One million dollars. So who you want to see when it?
Starting point is 00:32:23 You know, I would like to see one of the young kids win it. Like there's a couple young kids. I would really, like Graham, I think would be pretty cool. Yeah. Maybe a one-off car. Maybe, you know, I have some friends that are from Australia that are fielding a car, and I think his last name is Maddie Bradham or whatever they call him. And my friends actually own that car.
Starting point is 00:32:46 it'd be cool to see somebody a one-off team like that kind of pull through and get the victory. Kristen, you want to pick somebody? Do you even know an indie car cover? She has no idea. No, I don't want him for. So you just side with me. Marco Andretti. We'll do Markov and Reddy together because he's cute.
Starting point is 00:33:02 He hangs out with Ludacris. He hangs out with Lewis Hamilton. The history. Talk about winning on a hundredth anniversary. That would be cool. Last night he was hanging out with Ice Tea. Do you think she was there? The gangster rapper Ice Tea.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Do you think she was at the 30th birthday party? Were you there, Del Jr.? I may have been. Ludicrous was there. Yeah. Did we write a bus? Did we write a bus? I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:33:24 I got ran over by a bus. Del Jr. had a 30th birthday party at a place called Double Door in Cordelia. Okay. And Kelly put the whole thing together. I don't know if I was there or not. And we had an office impersonator and everything. Dale Jarrett was bartending and it did not end well for me. It was an awesome deal.
Starting point is 00:33:42 Speaking of Ludacris came and hugging out. I like, though, that you remember. Like 10 years ago, I had some game. Like, I could hang with you guys. And so you were thinking, like, oh, she may have been there. Yeah, she may have been there. Well, I don't remember Brett being there and he was there. I don't remember being there either.
Starting point is 00:33:59 It was a good time. All right, we're going to do hashtag AskDBC, where we pulled some questions off of Twitter and our Facebook page from some of our fans. These are usually good. Yeah, really good. And the three of you can choose a winner, and they will get an Elliott Sadler autographed hat. Krista, you pick this week. I'm going to pick the winner after we do these.
Starting point is 00:34:16 At Trey underscore Chaffin asks If your driver tried to do the Indy 500 Coke 600 double, would you try to spot both? Yeah. Yeah, I would, absolutely. Period, yeah. I might suck at the Indy car deal, but I'd go. I actually was going to go
Starting point is 00:34:30 and I had talked to Scott Speed about it a few years ago when he was going to go and run it and he ended up not driving that car. He didn't feel comfortable doing it. It wasn't a very good car, but you know, that would have been pretty cool to go and do that. And it's definitely on the bucket list, but I'm not sure how good we would really...
Starting point is 00:34:46 It would be very different from anything I've ever done. Even if I go spot a late model race, you know, snowball derby, it's different than doing the cup stuff because the drivers have different talent levels. You're closer to the track. It makes everything look faster. Closing rates are different. You know, so I consider myself to be a good cup spotter.
Starting point is 00:35:06 I might suck at Indy car spotting because those cars are fast. Yeah, but I'd definitely go do it. I would. Duncan Harris off our Facebook page asked Would you like to see or would you like to see Or do you think NASCAR would take a cup race to the UK Like the NFL does with a couple of their games Krista you should do this one
Starting point is 00:35:24 This is a good TV question Yeah I think that would be awesome I think it's all it's all comes down to logistics and money Like everything But no I think it'd be I think it'd be really cool Yeah I like the idea of it Is UK Stanford University of Kentucky
Starting point is 00:35:41 No we already go there the United Kingdom. Racing is really popular over there. Racing is very popular. They have some touring cars and some stuff like that that are really, really popular. It'd be cool to go to,
Starting point is 00:35:56 I'm sure they got some good ovals over there. I'm not sure of any names right off hand, but I think it'd be pretty awesome. How would get there? That sounds like a long flight. Yeah, we would take a plane. We'd get all the cars and all the...
Starting point is 00:36:07 That wouldn't be bad, though. I mean, remember NASCAR used to go to Japan. That's a long flight. It's no different than... I didn't do that. Oh, this is Japanese. is my shirt. Oh, it is?
Starting point is 00:36:14 It says Rapungi. Yeah, which is the bar district in Tokyo. Oh, you've been to? I have, yeah. This was back, well, many years ago when I had game, you know, when I didn't go to bed early. You still got game? Yeah. I would like a race somewhere else like that.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Be cool. At Ricky Fitz asked if you guys were drivers, what would your dream number sponsor a combination be? Saturday night, it was Tito's Waka. Yeah. And I drove the number one car. About 10 years ago, Brett would have drove the six car. With Viagra on the dive. What is your dream number?
Starting point is 00:36:54 Didn't somebody bring Viagra in here earlier this year? Josh. No, I brought Advil in relief. Did you take the Advil thinking it was Viagra? It looked like Viagra. Oh, boy. I've seen the commercials. I know what the pill looks like.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Oh, sure, the commercials. Krista, what would your dream sponsor be? Well, my number would be 11, because that was my number in high school and volleyball. We went to state. We shaved our numbers in the back of our heads. That's awesome. Yeah, before state. Luckily, 11 was easy.
Starting point is 00:37:22 I mean, you can't put in the lines. I know. We were, oh, we thought we were rebels. We were in the middle of Iowa. We thought we were. So what would the sponsor be? That's a tough one. Beer or?
Starting point is 00:37:36 Yeah. I like it. I don't know. Just beer. It just says beer on the side. It just doesn't really matter. Cold. Cold beer or jelly beans. Jelly beans?
Starting point is 00:37:47 Jelly bellies? Any jelly beans? That's a cool one. That's not a good. I mean, I got to think it's a cycling team. And I think it's always a cool to see that kids. You know what T.J. could use. He could use that Nair sponsor.
Starting point is 00:37:59 No, check it out. That was because you got a cut. Listen, I've done that to a buddy, Josh Snyder. We used to live with each other back in the day. That will burn your skin off. Oh, I want my neck. Did he scream? It was his back.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Oh, it was terrible. I never. So Naira doesn't work well? No, it works. The last time I used it, I think I was like 13, and if you leave it on for too long, which is like three minutes. You were hairy at 13?
Starting point is 00:38:24 No, but I have three older sisters, right? So they like to torture me, and they tried to shave my legs when I was like 12. 13's a tough age. 13, yeah. 13 is. You're just a girl trying to figure out stuff. You're just trying to fit in.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Anyway, it will burn you. Malad is turned six, and I'm now, even more scared. Holy cow. Well, Kristen, I will be here of role models. What's your sponsor? Yeah, what's your sponsor? So my lucky number seven.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Oh, but really? So is everybody, is it. No, it's born on July 7th. Oh. Mm-hmm. Sponsors tough. It is tough because I have sponsors here. Would you're lucky number of you, 77?
Starting point is 00:39:00 No, just seven. Seven. Seven. I don't know. That's a tough one. You got to have something in your life if you like. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:10 You would like to overindulge. Yep. Josh, what about you? Apple. I love my iPhone more than I like most people. Oh. That's a good one. If you get free service.
Starting point is 00:39:22 I should probably be sponsored actually by the red-blooded binder, which is my husband's tractor polling team. He probably should. Because if I'm doing this much radio and I'm not even saying the name of his tractor, that's, like, as a marketing guy, that's bad, right? So I would be sponsored by the red-blooded binder. Number 11. Oh, what, region?
Starting point is 00:39:40 Region 5 defending champion of the Super Farm NTPA Tractor Pulling League. I love tractor pools. I've been to the big one in Michigan. It was in Ohio. It's in Ohio. Bowling Green, Ohio. I was in Michigan, but I went to Ohio. You went to.
Starting point is 00:39:55 That's what they, yep. Yeah, that was so fun. That's a big one. He competed at that one last year. And there's a big one in Toma, Wisconsin. And they drank a lot of beer in Tomo, Wisconsin. They had cheese curds at this one that I went to. In Bowling Green?
Starting point is 00:40:06 Oh. Yeah. That was the first time I had them. I love cheese. Well, Josh, what is it? Big and tall. I don't think they allow three numbers. They don't.
Starting point is 00:40:22 It's his dream, though. I think it's your dream, you're dream. It's your dream. So Josh is 100. In the big and tall store, big tall and tatted. Yeah. Free tattoos. Do you have tattoos?
Starting point is 00:40:34 Just a butterfly. Oh, that's right. I forgot. At B. Verba asks, what is the biggest factor in securing sponsors, winning team or driver marketability or something else? For the 88, it's T.J. They just leverage him. It's a lot of leverage. Securing sponsors, man, it is a true partnership when you look at a company and they align with a team. Kristen is actually in this line of work. The driver is extremely important. But even in today's terms and worlds,
Starting point is 00:41:03 we're seeing sponsors come in and win off the track and on the track just be where they get additional exposure and equity and driver. And the good thing now, I'm not a big fan of saying every owner can own four teams, right? Because I think we screwed up when we did that, but whatever. The good thing about every owner owning four teams is when you walk into a junior motor sports or to a Hendrick, you have the ability to have seven, eight drivers under one umbrella. So it certainly gives the sponsor a lot of a value-added opportunity. I mean, you guys are the right ones to answer that. I think you can have, I mean, you need both.
Starting point is 00:41:38 I think you need driver marketability. I mean, back when we were, you know, doing all these features, not that we don't. don't now, but, you know, early on in NASCAR, you would go to an Elliott Sadler. If you needed something, I mean, a goofy thing, you're doing a human interest, something fun, you would go to an Elliott Sadler. Like, there are certain guys in the garage who sort of up for anything and just exude that personality. And if we're going to them with a TV camera, they're getting their sponsor on TV. You just, you need that personality, I think. You'd have to win races, but that personality definitely, you know, puts you over the top. It's good for the sport, too. I mean,
Starting point is 00:42:10 I see some social media stuff around Paul Minar. and it'll be a stone-faced Paul Menard picture, and they'll be like, Paul after he just had his first baby. Paul just won a million dollars. Yeah, and it's like this stone-faced Paul Monard looking tough guy, you know, like you need personality, you need color. And I'll say this too.
Starting point is 00:42:28 I mean, Dale Jr., you know, we went through a phase where he was a hermit, in my opinion, in terms of his media and what he was willing to do. Now he's really, I mean, he's on Twitter, he's doing all these great things. And so I don't know, when you see a guy transform him, themselves a little bit more on the media. That's what I like to see too.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Yeah, I think it's both. I think you have a, you got to have a driver that, you know, it's good to have a driver that can be involved and be funny and be marketable at the same time. And it's also good to have a, you know, a good company that, you know, there's a lot of good opportunities in a sport. And it's good to see companies come in and take advantage of it. Right. No matter what team it is. So. It's definitely 50-50 on the track, off the track for sponsors. And they come in with their own goals and objectives that.
Starting point is 00:43:13 We go around, so it's definitely competition, but it's also driver marketability because, as Christa said, the bigger, the personality, the more time they get on media, on social media, and the more ROI we can provide back to the sponsor. I'll say this of the drivers that we have in the Cup series right now, it's a very real group of people. When I got here 20 years ago, there were some fake guys. Like, they would be one way on TV, a commercial person, and when you'd meet them, you'd be like, man, this guy's an asshole. You know, I think right now we really truly have a good group of guys, which is cool. Yeah, I like, I mean, the personality like a Ryan Blaney, I always find him so intriguing because he's, he's so, he's, you know, stone-faced and he talks like he's a 40-year-old man. He's this 20-year-old. But then, yeah, and then he, you know, is like head-banging, you know, in the basement and doing, you know, driver impressions.
Starting point is 00:44:03 I mean, he's just, he's just funny in this very hidden sort of way. Yeah, he is. He lives like five minutes from my house. So we were hanging out a couple weekends ago, and we were talking about, he said we were, it's when you could see Saturday, whenever you could see some deal going across the sky.
Starting point is 00:44:23 And I had this app where you hold up this guy and it actually moved and it tells you what stars or what. And I think he was amazed by it. He was like downloading over looking at the stars for a little bit. Yeah, what's he doing over there? But it was pretty cool. But he's a really, really unique, like, person and it's up glad i mean it's him and chase and the young guys Kyle are awesome to have
Starting point is 00:44:44 coming up through so looking really forward to that stuff at kinion Ryan asked what's the most redneck thing you've done or currently do well chrisivota told me a really good redneck story coming in this morning which one which one more than the truck pulling what you ride around in oh yeah we travel in a semi truck like in a tractor trailer how redneck is that it's the gas mileage on it's not well we don't Not every week, but if my husband's tractor pulling, yeah, we use that to get to pull the tractor and the ranger. My job at the tractor is I drive the ranger. I pull the tractor out of the trailer.
Starting point is 00:45:19 So, which used to make me really nervous. Now I think I'm okay at it. And then I do the ether. I start the engine. And then I had to do, I got promoted to air pressures this week. Oh, my gosh. It was really nervous. It was fine until the third member of our crew, Peter Pants, because she's only two.
Starting point is 00:45:36 So I had to ditch the air pressures. to go change the toddler. It might be a redneck. You would never think about you. I think the most redneck. So this week we had an instance where you pull the rest area and the truck is all full. There's no place to park the truck. But I mean, I had to use a bathroom.
Starting point is 00:45:51 I mean, I need to use the bathroom. So my husband pulls off and he's just in there. And there's like a security guy at the rest area, like monitoring the trucks. And so he told me I can't go to the bathroom. And I said, you don't understand. And I said, I need to use a bathroom. He's like, so you can't park here. But I was like, let her go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:46:06 So now my husband's in a fight with the security guy. in the truck and I said, no, we can just go. I can hold it, you know. No, we can go. And I'm like, we are red. Like, we're yelling at a security man at three in the morning at a rest area. Yes. We're redneck.
Starting point is 00:46:21 You're a Yankee redneck. I know. We're northern. Jeff Foxworthy needs to call you for his next little redneck's kid. And in fact, you know, I didn't even realize we, and we missed an opportunity because we went right through Emporia and didn't stop at the truck stop. Yeah, that would have been redneck. To go to Emporia?
Starting point is 00:46:35 Yeah. So we may, on the way home, we may need to reroute ourselves. Just so we can stop it in pori. Caller at somebody up there. Yeah. Get Hermie to get you a free dinner at Fo Show. That's never happened. Really?
Starting point is 00:46:45 No, he won't even give Elliot an employee discount. So now I have a mission. His brother. So I'm going to go to the truck stop and try to get a free dinner at Fosho. Get the cheese steak pizza. It's good to have goals. Be prepared to pay full price. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Yeah, my whole existence is redneck, I feel like. TJ's a redneck. I just got my neck shave, so it's all right. I just clogged on Blake Shelton's bus at Texas Infield. That's pretty redneck. But I didn't have my george on. That's sad. Yeah, I thought you were going to wear them.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Clint actually videoed it, which is I know going to appear somewhere later. Somewhere. Yeah. Maybe he should send that out. He will. Stop waiting. My weakest moment. Pick the winner, Krista.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Oh, the winner. Well, it seems obvious that it would be the Kenyon Ryan. But I'm going to go with Ricky Fitz. Dream number, sponsor combination was a strong question. Ricky. You are our winner. So check your mail. Check your DMs, Ricky.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Okay, so Krista, this is a part where we get to complain about anything that we want to. We call it the rant session. Is there anything that has irritated you this week or today? That's a security man at the restroom. Along I-95. All because you had to use the restroom. I know. Also, I'd like to say that with that story, we have continued.
Starting point is 00:48:07 the talking about using the bathroom on every podcast that we've done. Every one. Oh. Yeah. One time Brett had to do-do. He was on a juice cleanse. Yeah. During the show, during the podcast.
Starting point is 00:48:19 We had like a five-minute pause because Brett had to. We were live that day. Yeah, TJ and I just kept talking. Yeah, we had to keep doing something. Because I, um. He couldn't wear the headset in there. I called a pit stop from the bathroom at Charlotte. Well, because there was a 600.
Starting point is 00:48:35 Yeah. Usually I'm fine. I can hold during the whole. race but we get on so early to rehearse and then you're on and it was um i don't remember if it was when i was pregnant with emmy which you know obviously changes things but yeah i think i think i um yeah i heard i took my headset off and but i had the volume up and i heard them say chista on the five because i don't know what the fives do i don't know if he's stopping if he's so i just sort of gave a generic like yeah yeah casey's you know pretty comfortable with the car right now
Starting point is 00:49:03 that's amazing and i'm pretty uncomfortable and i just and then that was i don't know if that was was midstream. That's what I was going to ask. You hear it in the background? You're like, so I guess I need to apologize to Casey if there was a little pee in the background. Wow. She'll have that. So imprompt to you bring professionalism to this podcast today.
Starting point is 00:49:23 No, I do not. No, I have not. I use the word balls. I thought it was going to have to be on my best behavior. When we said you were coming on, you did, and then you got in here and you, so give us like your best door bumper clear intro for our show. Oh, really? Like you're leading in to, yeah, and we may have to use this. Okay, let me, do I have a second?
Starting point is 00:49:41 You guys talk. You talked amongst yourselves here. Oh, one other thing I noticed, because it's Coke 600 week, like there's a lot of people in here. There's a lot of eyes. And then we're supposed to, and they're hearing us say things like pee and balls. Basically, yes. Yes. It's wild.
Starting point is 00:49:57 But yeah, JRM fan days this week, so all these people will just continue to build. We're doing a podcast on Friday live from here. So come out, check us out at 2 o'clock. Yeah, Thursday and Friday. out to JRM and have some fun. We're going to pull some randoms in. Talk about balls. Elliot's signing autographs at like one.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Yep. And I know all the other guys will be here signing an autograph. So Dale, Kevin, Justin Allgeyer, and Josh Barry and Kristen X will be here from 10 to 11. And then the second session is one to two and that'll be Chase Elliott, Chase Elliott, Elliott Sadler, Regan, Alex Bowman, Colecaster, and Kenny Habool. That's awesome. And you can still sign up for free shop tours. And we're doing a podcast.
Starting point is 00:50:33 And we are doing a podcast. All of the Dirty Moor Radio podcasts are. Our broadcasts are recording on Friday. What are we going to have to talk about? Well, we can just talk about the drivers. Like, dude, you see his hair? Look at that. Look at his hair today, man.
Starting point is 00:50:46 And we can just, we can pick people out. I think you should wear yoga pants and sell souvenirs that day. You? You should wear your shorts. I will. Do you have yoga pants, T.J. No, but the last thing I want to do is see him in Jors. I'm not going to lie.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I do not want to see your legs. I'm wearing them Friday. Don't do it. You can see him now. Look, his pasty white legs. Their wards are way higher than that. I turn two colors, white or red. There ain't a lot of browning goes on in this body, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Are you ready? You rehearsed? Yeah, so this is an intro? Yeah. Yeah, like, I'm talking, like, this needs to be good. I can sound good. Yeah, like, I want people out here to look. All of them.
Starting point is 00:51:23 They're looking now. We got one over there. There's my goal. I'm going to see if I can get that guy to look before it goes out of the door. Okay. Do you want inside information? You will not be able to repeat it to your kids. but you will learn and you will laugh.
Starting point is 00:51:37 Door, bumper, clear is on. Yeah. He came back. He came back. He didn't look our way. Hey, you. Hey, you. Dude, the yellow.
Starting point is 00:51:49 Hey, guy in the yellow. Yeah, we got to use Krista's thing in our show. Yeah. Hey. That's awesome. Are you listening? Do we got anything else to do? So we got J.R.M.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Fan Day this week. And T.J., you have the Little 600 tonight with Br Brett Ski? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, we're not going to win. It's going to come down to Derek or Tyler. Those are the two best.
Starting point is 00:52:11 I thought Derek wasn't coming. Oh, he's not? He lives in Maine now. I know, but he, I mean, I'm pretty sure we're racing down here this week and last week. Yeah, he lives in Maine. Wouldn't you just stay down here for that week? Is he racing in Maine? He goes back there to race.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Yeah, he races. I don't think he's racing last weekend or this weekend. He's getting married and he's doing the whole family. Oh, that's why. Now you said it. Yeah. It all changed. Eric,
Starting point is 00:52:34 come on Derek. There's still time. Yeah. Coke 600 predictions. Oh, Coke 600 predictions. Oh, I didn't study this week. You got to go first. I need a chart.
Starting point is 00:52:45 I know I didn't win last week. Yeah. Who did he have? We didn't get any bonus points, right? He didn't have Lugano, did he? I didn't have Lugano. So it don't matter who he had. So it's your up.
Starting point is 00:52:55 Well, you won before that then. No, no. You won over. I know that's why you got to pick first. All right. So the All-Star doesn't count. No. No. Loser picks first. The score's like 7 to 5. I'm barely ahead.
Starting point is 00:53:07 I got boned and dove are hard. We had to change the rules to get him back in the game. So now he's closing the window a little bit. They were, never mind. We're not getting it. They were fixing the system. So now we can only pick each driver one time. Oh. So when T.J. picks whoever he's about to pick, he can't pick him the rest of the year. Okay. Wow, man. This is going to be hard because it's going to be hard to pick a bad guy because this race is so long.
Starting point is 00:53:29 They're going to be lapsed down, separated. So I feel like we're going to have to go with some. heavy hitters. I might just let him have one this week. Just let him go heavy. And I might come in with like Dick Trickle or something. I think I'm going to go. One thing we should do.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Oh, here he goes. Listen. He's stalling for time. We should reset for the chase. No. I mean, just for the chase, though. See, we're changing rules again. No, I mean, we're going to have nobody left by the chase.
Starting point is 00:53:54 I mean, it's going to be like. If you save them and will? You've only used three drivers. Man, I don't know. You got 37 left. Oh, let's see here. And Mike Harmon just said he's going to run a cup car somewhere. I saw that on Facebook.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Well, you automatically get him. So let me think. Okay, so yeah, I see what you're doing. You need to use someone. You're not trying to pick who you think is going to win. You're trying to pick who you think is going to beat whoever I pick. Yeah, I just need a list. So I had Jimmy, so I had Mr. Dover, Jimmy Johnson, and he ran like seventh all day.
Starting point is 00:54:27 He had Carl Edwards who ran up front all day. Jimmy has the lead with 40 to go. And I'm like, he's going to win the race. it's over. Then he wrecks. Man, it's over. Then the very next restart, car leverages the wall head on and he wrecks.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Then Jimmy's car comes back out and beats him. Do you, where do you, do you guys stand next to each other? Not there. Not there. Not there. Let's see here. I will take. I'm having to pull up the driver list.
Starting point is 00:54:50 And while he's looking that up, do you know who, what made me smile is in Phoenix when you sent me that text or you sent me that you tweet about the slippery when wet sign? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Bon Jovi, dude. John Jovi. Chris and I used to dance. back in the day, back when we were not 40-ish.
Starting point is 00:55:07 And we had fun. We did. The sport's fun. We get paid to do this. We went to a lot of Bon Jovi shows. Can you believe we get paid to do? We made our own. We made our own Bon Jovi show wherever we went.
Starting point is 00:55:17 I can't believe we get paid to do this sometimes, you know. Well, you get paid? I got my pick. Who you got? I'm going with Jamie McMurray. Oh, he's coming with Jamie. We're going to hate. McNamary.
Starting point is 00:55:30 I mean, that's one, MacDonald, I'm throwing a dart here. That's a pretty good dart. It's a hard area to pick around. What do you do here? I know. Do you take the W and sacrifice the point later? No, man, I don't want to be too aggressive here.
Starting point is 00:55:44 That's what I'm saying. It's in that area where it's hard to... Where's McMurray at points, you think? About 15th, 20? You're looking like... You're going to have like Austin, Dillon, Ryan Newman, those are going to be the guys you're picking out here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:56 That's who he's wanting me to pick. No, I'm just saying that's at that area. See how he tried to bait me right there? You should probably take, like, Logano. Do you think he's not calculating? Yeah, very good point, Kristen. Jamie McMurray, Trevor Baines, Stenhouse. I'm going to go with Bernard.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Greg Biffle. The Biff. I'm saving the Biff for later. The Biff. I'm saving him. And here's why I'm picking him, because Brian Patty is a pit strategy genius. If he were a media darling, this guy would be. considered to be one of the best crew chiefs in this business because he's that good at his job.
Starting point is 00:56:37 I know they're not running great right now, but this dude is a genius. So 600 miles, he's got a chance to figure out a way to beat you. I got to get on him, though. I got to say, hey, man, it's all about beating McMurray. Don't worry about winning the race. God, that's true. I'm not going to lie. I do look for that. I do look where they got all door. I'm like, yeah, bro. So, yeah, I don't know. It's been fun. It's been good. But I'm going to tell you this, I did count Biffle out. I counted him out in that open. And then he won one of the statements. I mean, I looked back there one time, and he was like eighth or tenth,
Starting point is 00:57:09 and I was like, gosh, he's going to. And then he's in. He's in. So, yeah. A strategy that. It is, man. Yeah. He's good.
Starting point is 00:57:16 Doing work. Krista, thank you so much for coming on. Yes, thank you. Thank you guys for having me on. I really do. I feel like you guys are my people. Yeah. You know, if I'm not hanging with spotters, I'm hanging with the hauler drivers.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Yeah. But, well, because I do hang out at truck stops. Yeah. Only when you got to... When you come back for the fall Charlotte race. Or when you need a new coffee mug. You have a bad problem. Things go bad when you have to pee.
Starting point is 00:57:40 I mean, you're in... Pit stops are happening. You're arguing with people because it won't let you. I know. Yeah. I don't feel like I pee that off. We have a bathroom. Hey, we got a bathroom right over here if you have to go.
Starting point is 00:57:52 And no one's going to yell. So are you ready to get back to work? I am. Yeah, I've been doing... Going up to Stanford, Connecticut, doing the studio show for NBC. It's been awesome. But the NBC half, our port. portion's coming up in July.
Starting point is 00:58:03 You get to fly there every week to do that? Not every week. But yeah. Wow. A lot, a lot. But excited to be back at the track. Yeah. Back with you guys.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Yeah. So it'll be good. Keep Burton and the Tart straight for us. How much fun are they? Oh, you know what? I'm working with them tomorrow. Hall of Fame. Oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:58:19 The Hall of Fame is the five are announced. Oh, tomorrow. On Wednesday. Is tomorrow? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:58:24 So working with Steve and Jeff tomorrow. I like Steve. He was a lot of fun to work with. And he was always fun to poke fun with and stuff. too. So it was, oh, he had a good birthday party one time. Oh, yeah? Yeah, the cops showed up. It's a good sign. Ask him about it. He just actually, he actually paid them to leave and come back. He just paid the fines and said, how much will $500 get me or something? How many hours? Can you come back in like three hours? I'll just pay now for it.
Starting point is 00:58:51 Jeff Burton probably has as much integrity as any human being in this sport. Super nice guy, well-accomplished racer. I'm glad to see him come back on TV. Fox is done a good job. But I'm ready for you guys. And that's what we always say. People think, oh, it's, we're against each other. And I used to work with Fox for Fox. It's not at all. We want the sport.
Starting point is 00:59:09 If the sport succeeds, the sport does well, everyone benefits. So, and that's, you know, I'm, we're fans of the sport. We watch it just like, like all of you guys listening. So it's, yeah, we just, you know, we take the torch in July and then hopefully run with it and do a great job. You will. Yeah. And I'm looking forward to do it too. I'm saying this, not because she's sitting here.
Starting point is 00:59:29 my favorite female broadcaster in all of sports right here, Chris Lovina. Thank you. That's awesome. You might be saying that just because I say that all the time. He's definitely probably just saying that. Saturday night, I might have said Jamie Little, but I was in sauce Saturday night. That's all right.
Starting point is 00:59:46 We're all in the same family. Absolutely. Well, thanks for coming out. Thanks, Exalta, one main. And we will talk to you guys on Friday when we're doing the live show. And we'll be doing it right here. And we will look forward to. Any of you fans stopping by and maybe even coming in and chatting with us a little bit.
