Oh, yeah. Hey, everybody. I'm T.J. Majors. I am Spotted of the 22 car, 22 Xfinity, and the 25 truck. And joining me on possibly the last show ever. I think this may be our last show. This could be the last show. I've not been to bed.

You're fired. I'm Brett Griffin. And I'm drunk. I used to be a spotter. I'm having a bloody marriage because I'm trying to come back. Casey, this is your part. You go. I'm a little scared right now for how this show is going to go.

This show is not to a great start. He started it. Pull it up. Not pull it out. How cold were you yesterday? Like, scale of 1 to 10 when the truck race started? When the truck race started, I was probably a 3. Oh, really?

Yeah, when it ended. I was 7. When I ended, I was probably 8. Yeah. Yeah. I never got up to 8. I didn't go up there until the last second, so it took me a little while to get to the, you know, higher stages. It was cold.

Like, cold, cold. Which truck were you doing? The 25. Dalton Sergeant? Yeah. We ran around. I did good. He ran okay.

He raced you a little bit. We overdrove some corners every once in a while. My, man, I'm like, dude, chill out. Oh, I saw it. Yeah. My man gets into one, like Jack the Bear. He. I said, dude, your cahoonas aren't big as a bad bad.

You got to chill out. I would see him go to the inside to pass them. I'm like, oh, no, you can't drive in there harder than what you already are. So it's not going to work. That's what makes the truck race there exciting. It is. You have a lot of kids that are up-and-comers, and, you know, that's on the border. line of being like a local track, like local guy that could run good.

Yeah. You know, the right equipment. So I think that's one reason why I like Martinsville truck race. That's the fun thing. Like you watch May it in the 13, Dalton into 25, the kid in the 04 or whoever that was. Yeah, but he was decent. Like they're driving hard. Then you watch guys like crafting the solder and they're like, hey, let me have everything.

I'm a veteran. It's like, hey, dude, this ain't what you do here. Yeah, they don't like. You got to earn it. Those guys absolutely hate when one of them kids bumps them. I mean, if they even bump them the littlest bit, they get mad. Yeah. And I mean, I think it's awesome.

And that's what makes the truck series good, too, is you got guys like Johnny that say, you know, this kid grows out and hits him. Johnny is going to go down there and just plaster them the next corner and teach the kid a lesson. Yeah. But it's fun. And you guys, some of these kids are pretty hard-headed. You know, they don't, they don't see Johnny Sawto, the truck champion in that truck or Matt Crath. and they see a guy they want to pass. They don't care who it is.

Right. So, I mean, it's kind of fun. But anyway, how was your weekend, Casey? It was pretty good. I mean, obviously. You had a party? You had a party? Yes, we had an engagement party.

Oh. My birthday party, well, my birthday was on Thursday, engagement party, Friday, and then wedding dress shopping. Damn. So I basically like. Yeah. Hey, how much money did you spend on Friday night's party? Oh, gosh. I don't really know.

A bunch? I don't. Was it open? Was it open bar? It was open bar. Thank God I didn't go to that. Wow. So, I'll be on a three-day adventure.

Freddy showed up. He drove, though. What do you mean? Freddy was like the D-D. He's no fun when he's a D-D. Yeah, he should have Uber. We should have, we should have worked on. He had to work.

Yeah, there were a lot of people because the garage didn't open until Saturday. So we had a lot of people that were going to the tracks the next day. They were like, I'm just drinking water. And I was like, is that really water? Yeah. So when's the wedding? Hopefully in January. But we can't find the venue, so it might be at Chili Bowl.

We're strongly convinced. Are we doing a live show that day or what? We should. I think we should do a live show. In my wedding dress. Mimosa and Blettys. Yes. So what kind of budget do you have for a wedding dress?

What's a girl spend on that? That is a bad question? That is a valid question. I don't know. I have two daughters. I've heard some horrors. too as well. Yeah, good look.

I've heard some horror stories. I've heard the people that have spent like 15 grand. Oh, shoot her. Yeah. It's done. You can't spend 15,000. You can't spend a mini cooper on a fucking dress. That basically tells me what you're spending right there.

Yeah, I'm definitely not. So I found a dress. 14,000. Natalie was so proud of me. I was so proud. Natalie, you went dress shopping with her? You're such a great friend. I don't know how.

There's like 10 of you. You're all over the place. 12 people, wedding dress shopping. Can you imagine how many opinions that was? Yeah. Especially girl opinion. Does this make you want to get married? My opinions will be like, no.

No. Girl beings be like, girl, let me tell you something. That dress looks good on your boobies. It looks tight on your waist. Was he there? Does he pretty much sum up like everything else? I know how girls are. So, hey, I got a question.

So does a girl, you know how I want a girl like, do you bring a baby around? They get baby fever a little bit. Now, do you, if you take a girl like Natalie and she goes wedding dress shopping, Does she get like Wedding fever? Yeah. Natalie's hot. I don't know why she ain't married anyway.

She's looking at us right now. Because Natalie is going to find the right guy. She's not going to just like jump in anything. She's definitely shopping around. Is that true? She don't have a headset. I can say whatever I want to say right now. And nobody else knows.

So does this make you want to get married? Like this all like. With stress of it? No. She, I'm no one that. There's a difference between windows shopping and trying on the dress. Just keep windows shopping. Yeah.

Stay out of the dressing room. It helps your bank account quite a bit. What does? Windows. Not buying a dress. I didn't know that was an option. You can't buy a $15,000 dress. That's absurd.

Mine right now, I think the one that I think I found. Two grand. Less, actually. Lower. High five. I know. She hasn't got it yet, though. Under two grand is, that's doable, right?

Mine's under $1,500. You wear this one. in your life. Are you buying or your mom or your parents? My parents. They are. They're buying. I actually, I had to give up and, like, give a speech to the engagement party and I basically told my parents.

I'm really sorry for how much money I'm about to spend for you. Did you cry? Maybe a little bit. Wedding dress shopping, you cry? There was a lot of alcohol involved. Oh, the party. Yeah. The wedding dress.

No, I did tear up when I saw the dress because it's just like, I don't know. When you're a little kid. I was going to bring a bottle of keel in here, but I figured y'all wouldn't help me drink it, so I just brought a bloody marriage. Why not it? Jason would have. He's 20. He can't.

He can't contribute to the delinquency of a minor. He's going to inside of the camera. Are we going to keep Natalie in here just in case he needed a refill? Do we have Zing Zing in here? So we're going to have a wedding and a fire department. We are going to have a wedding in a fire department. It's being considered. We are all.

I'm telling you, this place is awesome for the fire department. Do I, like, go down the pole? There's a little bitty church right beside us. Easy. You damn, right you're going down the pole. You know how, like, At the fire department. You got to watch what you say.

I love this show. I really can't. You really got to think before you speak. You've got to think before you speak. I love it. Look how red Jason is. I was sitting out in the sun. He's embarrassed 40 years.

He said yesterday. No, he's really. I meant like at the fire department, you know how that's what they have to go out? Yeah. Yeah, trust me. I'll just stop talking now because I'm going to get myself in more trouble. Make sure to bring the glitter. Next on stage.

Yeah. Casey. All right. I want to know. So how were your celebrations yesterday? Do you remember any of them? They're still going on. Yeah. Well, I mean, obviously.

So I came down from a spotter stand, and I mean, that was really cool part. A lot of my buddies came over and said congratulations. And the official, there's an official up there with us. He's like, hey, tell Clint what to do. And I was like, dude, he's going to go in the stands and funnel a beer or shotgun a beer with a fan if he can get in there. And they just redid that gate with a softball so that you really can. can't get in there. So he ended up not being able to do that. And he said, you need to tell him what to do.

And I was like, he's out of the car. He's not going to put his headset back on. I'm leaving. So I leave and you get there and everybody's pounding beers and they had 25 ounce bushlights. I saw those. There are special cans. And they're pounding them. Yeah, I've seen them. Somebody took a quiet track picture and there's nothing but empty beer cans in the front stretch. Yeah. Martinsville Victory Lane is one of the best places. Well, we won there. It was one of my favorite places just because there's a lot of fans there. And, you know, there was, it's cool because they're literally, you know, 10 yards from you. And it's a grassroots win. They pull the stage out. They do it right there by the start, finish line. Yeah, everybody's right there.

The trophy is so cool. It is. It's a clock. The clock is. Yeah. So Clint was hammered last night. No way. What? What? Yeah. I'm like, hey, what's a replica clock cost? He's like, why? I was like, because I might want to buy one. He's like, I'll get you one. no way he remembers telling me. There's no way he remembers guaranteeing me a rep. So everybody should tweet at him like, hey, don't forget. Don't forget Spotter Brett's clock. I mean, I can pretty much tell you what they are. You need to know. How much are they?

Five grand? No, way like they give you a deal on it because they make so many of them. Well, they're all handmade, but they give you a deal on it. I'll have to tell you after the show. I don't know. I don't want to be wrong. And Martin'sville tweeting back. It's a good deal. Like, if you win the race, they give you a, you know, if you're part of it. They give you a deal.

It's really good. Like, they, Martinsville is one of the places that it'll take. Let me look at the prices of their concessions. Right. Two bucks. I mean, it's two dollars. That was different. It's like how it should be.

Like, you could actually take your kids there and go down there and get them a hot dog and fries and a drink for five, seven bucks. Yeah. You can't do that anywhere else. There were a lot of kids there yesterday. They should have been school. Including Jason. There's a lot of kids, which was awesome.

You're really red. We told you that yet. Yeah, I sat in the sun. I put some sunscreen on. I'm windburnt. You could have put DBC on your forehead. Yeah. In some block.

Walking out. Next time I'll do that. Yeah, you should have done it. Why do you tell us you were there? I'm sorry. We could have, we could have got up with him and you could take him in a victory lane. He could have had first hand impression. Could have took him on a roof.

If you're going to hang out with somebody away from the racetrack that you know you're going to have a good time with, it's Clint Boyer. Yeah. He is the normal guy. likes to have fun to go out, you know, just normal.

It was killing him how long the victory lane process has become. Because the last time he won, it was an hour and a half. I swear last night it was three hours and we were still going. And typically, I'm not still there, right? The spotter usually isn't still there, but we're buddy, so I'm hanging out. And I'm like, well, y'all stop with the same and let us party? And it finally stopped. And I was like, can we start back doing that?

because I'm bad over here. He blew a motor at 1030. Oh, that's bad. Somebody did ask. He blew a motor at 1030. Didn't you? That's early. Did you get to do the hat dance?

Were you involved? They asked if it was driver obligation or a contractual, like you get to do the hat dance too? Yeah, the team guys do it. Yeah. The team does their little, their deal. And then they all take the car and leave and then the driver stays and those all his solo deals. You know, they do the team deal, the hat dance, right? And that's kind of the team master.

car deal because team has sponsors, NASCAR has sponsors. And then the driver leaves, goes a media center. And he does a whole long ordeal in there. And then he comes back to Victory Lane for photos, which is with sponsors and all those people. And then he leaves again and goes back to do social. Like, why can't they consolidate some of that? Sometimes they do for Xfinity they do. Yeah.

So it depends. Listen, man, you just won the race. You need to enjoy it. You never know when the next one's going to be. Speaking of Xfinity, yes. Dash for Cash is coming out soon. Yes.

Let's start the show. All right. All right, all right. Let's head in the spot on, spot off. I mean, we've already basically did Clint. Yeah, the cover, the first one is pretty much done. Anything else do you want to cover off on on Clint winning Martinsville? Because we talked about that.

No. He's in the playoffs now. Yeah. Are you excited? Here's what happens when you win yesterday. And you're trying to sink it all in, right? So you get a clock, which is your trophy. You're in the All-Star race, which we weren't.

You're in the Bush class because you're now in the playoff. Those guys are eligible for the Bush clash. And you're obviously in the playoff. So there's so many great things that just came from one win. Four great things came from one day. You know what I mean? That's the cool part about winning a race in general, Well, early in the season, it's a big part of it.

It's big to win early in the season because that takes all the, now you don't have to point race all year. Just in case you don't win, now you don't have to point race and wonder if, you know, okay, like Austin Dillon, that's a guy in the chase that possibly could be borderline point-wise if he's going to make it. He's not making it if he doesn't want to race. Exactly. So that's a spot now, though.

That spot's gone. It's taken. So, you know, it could get, it's going to get close with three or four guys again. It will. the year. Yeah. Yeah. Eighth or ninth, 10 points is where we were, and you're literally trying to manage that going in, and you win, and it fixes all that.

And that's one, this point system is set up for some pretty good drama like that. Now, back in, you know, back in the day, everyone was separated out by, it was almost like three, four races of points. Like, it just wasn't going to happen. You knew. Yeah. We knew who was going to win the championship, you know, sometimes in Phoenix, sometimes in Texas. Sometimes in September.

Yeah, I mean, the guy had such a big lead that if he started, all of the do is start the next three races and he's won it. Yeah. So, but, so we're pretty, um, it's pretty good. Yeah. That is awesome. So we're doing spot on, spot off. It's, uh, Clint wins Martinsville and blows a motor at 1030. Yeah.

At his own party. What is that? All right. You go, you're first, Casey. What? Spot on, spot off. Oh, that is spot off. Wins and blows a motor.

That is spot off. I think everybody knows Clint is one that, like you said, he's supposed to run all night. He, especially when you win a race. He didn't, he didn't, he did. He didn't DNF. He just blew a motor at 1030. So he was just coast. I feel like when you're at, when you blow a motor, you're done.

Not Clint. Yeah. That was the funniest thing. Like you're in Victory Lane and, you know, Claire B's there and Doug Rice is calling me. And everybody wants to talk about the narrative is how big is this party going to be? That's what I think everybody was wondering. It ain't going to stop. There has to be something else planned for the rest of the other.

I mean, I did see a video of Ace, a blowing fire. Blue fire. Yeah. Our sponsor flew in from Texas. He got on the plane, Rusty Rush, and flew into Clint's house. Were those guys in Fontana? Yes. Okay, I've seen him.

Yes, they drank hurrahura tequila like it's water. So that's, I mean, let me tell you, this goes a long way with sponsors too, that when you can go and sponsor a guy like that, and the guy, I mean, it's just a good all-around situation for sponsors and the driver and everything. So I don't think anybody, everybody knows Clint's a normal. normal guy and everybody's happy that he wins. That's the cool part. Yeah.

And the craziest thing I saw him do is he walked in the stands with a bottle of champagne. He sprayed the fans. He gave a fan the bottle of champagne. The fan was licking the bottle, drinking the bottle. And he hands it by the Clint. You know what Clint did? He turned it up. Like, how many guys are going to give a race fan a bottle of champagne and let him drink it?

Oh, that is awesome. Was that you, Jason? there's a picture of Jason was that you? If there's picture you're doing that you're not. But how many guys are going to go in the stands and give a fan their bottle of champagne to drink? And this guy had an awesome mullet, by the way. I think it's awesome that they have access to it. Because I think the first driver that I think Brad went up there last year, didn't he?

I think Brad went into the stands. And that's cool the drivers can actually go up there and do that. This is like back in the day when they would after the race it was over. And you know guys like dirt races. What do they do with after the checker? flag at the dirt race, they open the gate. And let everybody. That's when these kids go down there and see these guys.

That's something that I think our sport is missing big time. I wish the drivers could make it back to their trailers for 15 minutes. Let these people come in. These kids want to go down there and see. These guys are heroes of them kids. And that's future race fans. Yeah. These are what, think about how many people would come to the race knowing they're going to

open up the gate afterwards and let these kids come down. You know, if you put the little things up around the hauler, whatever and let the driver come out there and sign our guys are 10 15 minutes something i mean yeah i just saw natalie swipe right on her phone she's on tinder what do you look like show us a profile kid it is tinder it's your story you tell it yeah all right so i'll say spot on for him winning spot off for 10 30 come on he didn't stop though he just blew the motor he pulled some tape put a new motor in and went right back out of it Can we have them on the show like next two weeks?

Yeah, we'll call him right now. I bet he don't answer. He's sleeping. He's asleep. Oh, that's awesome. Let's try. Oh, no. Y'all go ahead.

We'll see if he answers. All right. Stenhouse Rex in practice finishes second to last. 19 laps down. Spot on, spot off. There is, if anybody says spot on in here, that's ridiculous. Have you ever seen anything like that? I haven't.

Not for an organization that's supposed to be like that. I mean, you should, you know, they might struggle at times. He's actually put together some solid runs at Martinsville and Bristol here in the last couple years. So for him to go in there and just run like that. Oh, my gosh. I don't know if TV was talking about this or not talking about this. It was embarrassing. But I've never seen a guy, a Ricky's caliber and an organization of Rouse's caliber.

Did I say Rouse or Roush? Roush. At this point, we don't even know. I don't know what I said, Ralph. I was, I was, I literally couldn't believe what I was seeing because I know how good of a crew chief he has. I worked with Brian Patty before. And I literally, I think like lap 100, I came over the radio and I said to our crew chief, I was like, man, I'm telling you, thank God I'm not spotting the 17 car because there's nothing more miserable than 500 laps of dealing with what that guy's dealing with. Yeah, there's, there's no way something was wrong that they couldn't fix.

Well, he screwed himself. Well, that's true. He wrecked in practice. Coming up on McMurray, who had 45 laps on his tires, making a long run, and he wheel hopped and he wrecked, and he blamed his car going, I will hop here a lot. We haven't done that lately. Dude, you're still driving the car.

Like, that's, of all the things drivers do, like, I don't give me a pity party. Don't give me excuses. Just say I f*** up, and I will hop the car, and I wrecked, and he didn't do that. Oh, well, a car will hop. Why the cars will hop? Because you drive them in too deep, right? I mean, you make it do it. it. You don't, it don't do it on its own. Yeah, it doesn't decide itself, hey, I'm just going to

wheel hop now. But he backed himself into a corner, but I mean, the 51 car, the 96 car. 15. They were passing Ricky Stenhouse. Yeah, I've never seen anything like it. I was standing next to Herm who spots for that car and he was having a bad day. I've just never seen anything like that go down. Yeah, it was, usually you can roll out the backup and they should be fairly competitive. You know, they're going to race this. down the lead lap a lot, but you know, you catch a couple quick cautions at the end, you're racing for 12th. All of a sudden, yeah.

Yeah. Spot off, man. They got to get together. That's unacceptable. Yeah. Yeah. There were four cautions in the cup grace. Only four.

There were four cautions in the cup race. Three of which were planned. Competition caution. Yeah. Two stages. So realistically, only one organic caution. That's the least amount since 1978 at Martinsville. Holy cow.

I'm going spot off, but this isn't going to happen for much longer because we're getting ready to bring up more kids that are going to be. Calls, cautions. We are going to have some cautions because they're going to take more chance. There was opportunities for cautions a few times that we didn't get. They could have thrown a caution when the six hit the wall and they didn't. They could have. There was an opportunity. But honestly, the drivers did a good job.

Spotters did a good job letting guys know when they're diving in there. They gave them room. You know, honestly, everyone, it was a pretty good job by most of the drivers and, you know, spotters all day. I'm spot on for everything that happened yesterday. It was phenomenal. No surprise there. That was awesome. I know you had to be pissing yourself because I, for a while that I thought 18 was going to get you.

So we had a pit stop where our tire went across pit road and it did a loop and it came right back to our car, literally. And the tire carrier, Josh and Becky, ran over there and grabbed it. And I was like, we're not going to even get a penalty. So then the last stop, we're getting fuel, getting tires. Hey, Clint, we're three gallons short. We're going to have to stop way before everybody else. The caution that happened with McMurray, we were going to have to pit in 12 laps. Oh, wow.

Saved us. Like, and sometimes, and I've never been a part of this, like literally the races I've won, you kind of win at the end. You know what I mean? you don't dominate the whole second half of a race and have things go exactly the way you need them to go. And I watched that McMurray thing happen. I was like, Yeah.

This is exactly what we needed. Now all the pit crew has to do is get us out first. They've struggled this year. Yesterday on fire. Like, it's so fun to be a part of that because you don't dominate races, man. I mean, you look at Kyle Busch, Jimmy Johnson, you know, recently Martin Truex, they dominate races. T.

T.J., I'll tell you, like, it's really hard to dominate a race. this car don't always win. No. And yesterday, we dominated the second half of the race. So that's the first time in my NASCAR, and I've been in almost 20 years, to dominate the race and win other than plate stuff. I was, where are we going? I was pretty certain there was going to be a late caution and something was going to happen.

Like, that's just how it goes. Storyline. The guy that dominates whole race is a late caution. He has a slow stop, and then he comes out six and doesn't win the race. And it's always a guy like Kyle Bush takes advantage of that, too. Or Carl Orson. One of them, yeah, they're right there to pounce. Nothing wrong.

They're there for a reason, but a lot of times, you know, a lot of times, you know, that seems to fall in the laps of a lot of guys. Yeah. Well, I'd say rookies had a struggle yesterday, too. There's only those two this year, right? Yeah, because Alton. Yeah, but he did well. He finished seventh? Yeah. Wow. That was good. Big day.

Yeah. You know, that's not uncommon for me to go to Martinsville. Martinsville, you think, is one of the easier tracks. It's actually one of the tougher tracks that we go to for rookies. There's a, you know, everyone, it takes a while for the tires to come up. It takes a while to learn how hard you can go on them tires. It's a tough place. Look at all, look at these veterans first times at Martinsville.

You go to look at a guy like who's pretty successful at places like Martinsville. Look at Dale Jr. Yeah, he hit everything and the pace car. Yeah, he hit everything. And by the end of his career, he's a man there, right? He could run top. He's top seven car almost every race there. So, you know, that's just how it goes.

And I don't think a 20th place is that bad of a finish for a rookie, in my opinion. He didn't wreck, finish the race. Something happened to Bubba. I wasn't sure what it was, but they had to make multiple pit stops. A lap car broke his strap bar or broke his sway bar. Oh, that stinks. Jeez. Yeah, so he had a miserable day as well.

But, yeah, it's hard for me to spot off that. or, you know, be in favor of that because I know, I think a 20th place finish for a rookie is actually not too bad there. I think Martinsville is hard on rookies. You know, this question is, is it hard on rookie spot on? Yes, it is. And, you know, you look at the highest finishing guy is 20th. That's halfway. So it's not easy.

It's not easy to go there with no experience. And these guys have run there before. Bubba's one on a truck there. William Byron, great race car driver. They were lost. But they'll be better than two years from now. Yeah. Yeah.

The truck race is. started at five the cup ratio should have started at eight why were we not on TV at night under the lights in martin'sville one of the highest rated Daytona 500s ever was on a Monday night remember Montoya hit the jet dryer that's what made it monumental but people were already watching because it was a Monday night prime time I don't know who makes a decision for this but they screwed this up damn uh yeah I'll go my bloody Mary no good I think it's I will, you know, I think it's being, I'm okay with it, being at night like that, like you want it there is because we're so close.

We can commute to that still. You know, it's less than a two-hour drive. We don't have to, we don't have flights to do all that stuff. If you're going to do it, this is the place. So that was, I kind of agree with the, you know, we should have ran it Monday night and I didn't see how it went. We had a free trial run at a Monday night race. When you look at college sports, we, we. which is huge. It's growing. It's in growth mode.

The football championship is on Monday night. The basketball championship is on Monday night. Monday night football. There's a big TV audience dying to get you. What do you do? You run the race while everybody's at work. So a lot of it, I will say, you know, since I'm in marketing, like you said, I think a lot of it has to do with the network too and any conflicts that they have going on contractually. So it could have. Change it. It could have been the weather. Maybe they thought it would be. you cold because at night. I don't know. We're not hurt for there.

Major. On a scale of 1 to 10, how big is this? It's a 10. You won. You can't complain about this race. I did win. If we ran it later, your car might have handled it differently. And you might not have made it here.

I'm not evaluating that. I'm speaking from an unbiased perspective of how bad that we missed the target to have a Monday night primetime sporting event. I'm not worried about the temperature because fans go to football games when it's 30 degrees out on Monday night. Yeah. So I would have liked to see what it would have done and see what kind of ratings that, you know, it could have pulled in. And maybe our night races need to be on Monday night. Maybe we need to go in Sunday, practice and qualify and race Monday night. I don't know. We don't know because we didn't try it. We don't try it. We've only tried it one time recently.

And that was six years ago, seven years ago at the Daytona 500. And our ratings were through the roof. What are we doing? We missed it big time here. I do give props to everybody who snuck. and watched it at work. Like I saw there were some pictures of like iPhone. The only way to watch it is that way, though. Yeah. But. Yeah.

Well, it should have gave the people a chance to get home and sit down, have their dinner, and watch the race. Yeah. It's very frustrating for me as a sports fan. Listen to me. I wanted to run at 2 o'clock because I wanted to go home. I ended up not going home. And I haven't been to bed.

But in an ideal world, I would have been home at 7 o'clock. That's when the race should have been starting for everybody else that doesn't work here. End of story. All right. Kyle Busch has now finished second to an SHR car three times this season and did express frustration posteries saying that SHR is on their own island. What do you think is making a difference for SHR right now? You know, I don't know exactly what they have figured out, but this is just how it goes. They've found something that's got a little speed to it and it's carrying them. You know, it's got a, they've got fast cars and it's just a circle. It'll rotate here. Next, you know,

you know, the pension cars might find something here and be fast middle and end part of the year. You know, it's just how this sport goes. Everyone takes turn at the top. You know, everyone takes turn being fast. Um, so I don't, you know, I don't, it's, you know, it's good like that. It's good that it rotates like that. So, you know, Kyle and his group's been fast for a long time. I watched the 18 and 78 in practice and I thought they were going to be the two to beat again. You know, they were two to beat the week prior. And it just didn't work out that way. You know, Stuart Haas certainly has a lot of speed.

The Ford's have a lot of speed. Surprisingly, you know, Roush is lost on the Ford camp. Stuart Haas and Penske are both very fast. Where did you guys finish yesterday? I ran sixth. Sixth. Two car was fast. I mean, we didn't go into the season thinking the fords were going to be this good, and we are this good.

That's the fun part. The two car was going to be more competitive, but he hit the 20 counter caution, and it put a big hole in his nose. and that really, he was pretty strong all day. He hit him under caution. Yeah, some reason they all, somebody saw the broomtrad or something and slowed down all of a sudden. And, you know, he said, I think he said he was taking a drink or something and got to the back of the 20 and put a hole in the nose. Wow.

And that hurt his handling and stuff. And it put the, I think it bent the bumper bar down and it was splitter was dragging. So, you know. There's two holes in my nose. All right. This is pretty cool. the NBA is experimenting by offering fans the opportunity to watch the last quarter of a game for 99 cents on their app. Do you think NASCAR should try something like this?

Man, I think it's a fickle ground because I think in our world, you know, Fox and NBC owns so much of the broadcasting rights. So it really becomes a question from a logistics standpoint of will they do it? Because NASCAR themselves can't do it. They've sold themselves to the devil in terms of, who controls the broadcasting piece. It's not NASCAR. You know, NASCAR is a platform, NBC and Fox own the other piece of it. So can they, should they do something similar?

Man, NASCAR has no control here. Ding. I think that's the way everything appears to be going. You know, we didn't used to be able to, you watch football games that were on your local's channel back, you know, a handful years ago. You watched a local game and that was all you watched. Now we have, we have, what is the, Sunday ticket where you watch any game, anytime, basically anywhere.

You know, I think a lot of things are leaning towards, especially on mobile devices. I mean, this allows people to go out and do stuff, and maybe they only want to watch the last part of the race. So it allows them to go and say, you know what, I'm going to pay a dollar to watch that. I think everything's kind of trending in that direction. You can't give people something for free and then come back and ask them to pay for it. And that's what this is doing. No, can you get 1%, 2%, 3% to do it?

Maybe. But your audience is used to having this programming and this content for free. Well, they're paying for it. No, they're not. They're not paying for Twitter. They're not paying for Facebook. They're paying for the cable package. Yeah, but they're not paying additionally for this.

So at no point, am I as a consumer going to go, I want to pay more for that? No, you're not. You're used to getting it for free or as part of something else. So no. This doesn't work with NASCAR fans. We've done enough things to piss off our fans. We don't need to do this. I'd be curious to see if it actually works for the NBA,

because it does sound interesting. Extra coverage might be. Now, if you want to pay a dollar to watch this guy's in-car camera the whole race, that might be a different source. That's what I don't get for us. Like the best view right now in F-1 is that cockpit view. And we're trying to get there with this helmet cam, but that's where our TV is so bad.

I like the helmet cam stuff. Because TV says, oh, the helmet cam's the best ever. It's a 6-1 return over the in-car camera. but you got to pay for it. Every driver's not wearing one. It's one driver because they're selling it. Everybody's trying to monetize everything, right? It's a hard, it's a hard sell for us.

It's not a hard sell. It's a hard thing for fans to go, man, I want to see Clint Boyer's helmet cam from when he was screaming, you know, it will tend to go or whatever. Well, you're not going to because nobody bought it. Like it's content that's a very very. available, but TV's trying to monetize that view. Is F1, does every car have it? I don't know.

It's the best view in sports. It's true. It's awesome. Honestly, it's easier in F1 because they have fewer cars. Right. And it's more, I think it's more standard that they all have the same thing on each can. You know what I mean? I think they all have the same cameras, honestly, a lot of them.

It would be cool if, like, one sponsor did it for all the cars in that broadcast. Like, I don't know. I think I do see your point there. There you go. Xfinity would love to probably do. it. Never know. Off the wall.

I'll look over it. I'm like, oh, man, he's got the last. are going to give him a problem. So here's what I'm thinking about, right, as a spotter. You're thinking about who is the first guy. You're going to fight. That I'm going to put a lap down. Because guys that are multiple laps down, like the 20 and like those other guys, like the 24,

you're assuming they're going to move. But when we caught Kyle Larson, I went down to Derek and I'm like, hey, man, I don't want you to move. I just want to know if you're going to race me. And he said, I'm not. I got you. And I was like, no, you got me? He's like, I got you.

Then I walked down to Earl, who spots for Jimmy, and I'm like, hey, man, are you going to race me? And Earl flips me off. And I'm like, well, you know what? Like, that's Earl's way of saying, I got you. Because I've known Earl a long time, 20 years, right? So then we catch our teammate Eric Amarola, and I'm like, surely to God, I don't have to go ask this guy if he's going to get out of the way. Guess who doesn't get out of the way? Our teammate.

And Clint is screaming, get Eric out of the way! And I'm like, surely I don't have to go ask this guy to get out of the way. We win the race right behind him, but he's too wide passing DJ Kittington or whoever that guy was in the 96. That guy was racy. Yeah. So from our perspective, typically you're working a little harder than I had to work. And all I wanted to know was, are you going to race me or not? You know what I mean?

And fortunately, to T.J.'s point, they really didn't. I kept looking up there to see if somebody was going to raise you. A lot of people like Clint Boyer. You know, the only guy that raced me all day was Ryan Newman. And you don't want to be that guy at the end. With four to go, do you really want to be the guy that has contact with him and cuts his tire or something? You don't want to be that guy. Do you want to be Ryan Preas and Homestead?

That's what happened there. So nobody was that guy, though. I could have been buying it. Vegas. Just saying, yeah. I mean, it was, there was a lot of give and take there. There was. Here's what's funny, though.

NASCAR has pushed this young narrative, young guy narrative on all of us. How was Austin Dillon, Jason? 27, I think. That's a good guess. So he's a younger guy, won the Daytona 500. When's a young guy going to win? When is Blaney? When is Chase Elliott, the most popular driver going to win?

How old was Del Jr. when he won it the first time? That was 2001. He'd have been 26, 27? Yeah, yeah, roughly. So when is this whole young guy thing that we've been crammed on our throats? When are these guys going to start winning? When's Eric Jones going to win? When's Chase Elliott going to win?

Yeah, I mean, they're on the verge of breaking through, but yeah. Yeah, I mean, we've got a handful of young guys that are... Here's the thing. You still got to outrun Joy Lugano. Yeah. Brad Caslowski, Danny. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Jimmy Johnson. So you can cram this young guy stuff down our throats all day long until they start winning.

It's a marketing push. It's not, yeah. These guys, I'm going to build my brand. Let me tell you how you build your brand. You build your brand winning races and running up front. All this other b***ing you guys do is to support your brand. Success is where your brand's at. Like Bodey Miller, best snowskier ever.

But the coolest thing I saw was towards the end of the race. Stuff for giving Clint. I just tells you what kind of person he is, what kind of guy he is, how popular this win is in the garage.

So that was cool that everybody was really trying to make an effort to give him room. We just talked about that. The only guy we thought that was kind of a dick was Shrek, Ryan Newman. Man, he was driving his balls off. Well, he did that to everybody. Don't take that personal. He raised everybody home yesterday. Yeah.

So I think it's going to be tough to do. Are you functioning? The big question mark here for me is Eric Amarola.

Like I 100% think Joy Lugano wins. I think Brad wins. Clint and Kevin have already won. Kurt Busch, oh, guy's amazing race car driver. You know, he's got a new crew chief. They're figuring it out. Ran top 10 yesterday, fast car. He's streaky.

Like, who has the best parties? Sorry, I said that wrong. There's got to be drivers. All right. If we're doing just drivers, I would probably say, I mean, it'd be hard to go against Glenn. Nobody stays up longer than Dale Jr. Well, I was going to say, are we including, like, retired guys?

Because, I mean, Dale Jr. can run all night. Martin Truex. Can run all night, too. Dale Jr. Jimmy Johnson? They run all night. But who runs harder than Clint Boyer? He blew a motor at 1030.

Nobody runs harder than Clint Boyer. Somebody might run smarter, but not harder. I mean, honestly. What's the latest you've ever seen Doe Jr. stay up partying? I mean, not go to bed.
