That's my phone number.
What?
Don't be using my number.
Oh.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Shit, did you...
Oh, no.
No, don't be doing.
Did you post that?
Did you really accidentally?
You motherfucker.
I didn't even say it was your number, though.
I mean, I just said...
It don't matter.
You are saying it right now, you dumbass.
Following is a production of Dirty Mode Media.
Called me Frat Freddy the other day in a group text.
Or he just misspelled fat.
He can kiss my hand.
Let's fight.
Let's get it over with.
Let's knock each other out and let's move on.
I think he's a whiny.
That's what I think.
Next thing you know, I got no firesuit on.
Routy Nation fans are getting lucky tonight.
You want to have gimmicks.
Let's go all out.
I would never.
And here they come, never and like they never have before.
How did never you have a f***ing it?
What's up everybody?
Welcome back to Door Pumper Clear.
I am still Freddie Craft.
I still spot for Bubba Wallace.
Dean Thompson and G over zero, this is maybe the first time in,
maybe my life that I'm spotting for the same three people in back-to-back seasons.
I'm sure I'm going to have a Baldwin here and there somewhere mixed in.
Tommy, welcome back.
Yeah, it's been a nice little time off.
I haven't seen each other much this winter, right?
It was very nice.
Trying to have a sober off season, maybe.
Is that why you guys were avoiding each other?
There was a couple, where are you guys at?
No.
No, absolutely not.
Tommy always sex right at dinner time.
You at.
No.
You at.
You know when it's the you at.
That's when you're in trouble.
Yeah.
Carson?
You know it's the off season when you have a regular dinner time.
That wasn't dinner time.
It's most people finish working, Bob.
No, I got to say, and this might be the only time I say this this year, I actually did miss you guys a little bit.
I really did.
Like I was excited to get back to it today.
So we'll see how long that lasts.
obviously we got thrown for a loop this week.
We are still waiting to run the clash.
It was supposed to be, God knows what, now, four days ago, I feel like.
So we had another show planned.
That's got scrapped for later in the year.
And we have pivoted to our main man, Bob Pockris, luckily in town for the week, I think.
Bob, what did you get here?
Since the court.
He's been here for a month.
This has been like, yeah, this is like covering the trial, except nowhere to go each day.
What a great trial that was, by the way.
I don't know if anybody caught the end of that.
Yeah, I've been here for a week.
Yeah, pretty much.
Essentially a week.
I got here on Thursday.
And, yeah.
How is lovely Winston-Salem this week?
I mean, is it?
It's cold and snowy, just like every other bit of North Carolina.
I don't know.
Should we be surprised about that in late January or early February?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, we'll get into the date stuff more.
But yeah, this was, I think this is a bit of an anomaly.
We don't typically get a foot of snow in February
But like typically get a foot of snow
Ever, yeah
But how is, I mean everything now
I mean you just came from there to come here
I know you're at the press conference with NASCAR
Roadwise, everything good around the racetrack?
Yeah, I mean it's
I mean everything is relatively clear
And you know look
If you're driving up there you should watch for ice right
And pay attention
But things are relatively
relatively good
And the parking lots are all good
Gotcha. One big question. Why are we not racing right at this second file?
Do you have an answer for that by any chance?
They say out of an abundance of caution.
And I would say that on Sunday afternoon, you didn't know whether the teams could get there on Tuesday morning.
A lot of the team members lived in areas that got hit worse than Winston-Salem.
And some of the shops are in areas that got a foot or more of snow.
And so I get that.
I guess my question is, could you have just said on Sunday?
Sunday, hey, we're going to try Tuesday, but we don't know.
We'll make a decision by this time on Monday, because I think by Monday afternoon,
you kind of felt like, gosh, they probably really could have done today.
Well, that was the DOT that was deciding most of the stuff.
That wasn't NASCAR or Fox, correct?
That was the Department of Transportation.
NASCAR wouldn't say whether somebody at the city or the state said, like,
you really need to wait until Wednesday.
That was the Department of Transportation.
I would expect that they were highly encouraged to say Wednesday.
We're on our first episode, and Tommy's already being a NASCAR apologist.
Already.
No, it wasn't NASCAR.
We're like three minutes.
No, I'm just saying it was.
Tommy, France.
What's been new, Bob?
How was your offseason?
I know you were here for the trial.
Did you get much of an offseason?
Not too much of an off season.
A couple weeks.
But, yeah, you had the trial for the first couple weeks of December.
And then, I mean, once you get into early January, things really pick up for us.
with NASCAR production days and IndyCar production days
and went down to the Rolex.
All I know is I started kind of my quote-unquote off-season
going to Pomona for a drag race that for three days of rain
and then didn't happen and then...
So you're the problem.
Went to Rolex.
I was going to say it's following up.
Six and a half hour caution for fog.
And now, you know, the 600 days of the clash.
And you said you got to Winston-Salem a week ago?
Yeah.
And it's been snowing for the whole week.
Start to add up.
Plans the same this year covering both NASCAR and IndyCarg, I assume?
Yeah.
Yep.
You getting to know all those guys pretty good or what?
Pretty good.
Speak their languages?
I mean, they all speak racing.
Oh, okay.
So I think I think we understand that.
How was, you got a first-hand look at Mr. Stenhouse, Mr. Gilland shoveling snow yesterday.
I thought it was very clear that one of them has handled a shovel before,
and one of them probably has not as much.
How was that experience watching these guys?
I assume you're saying that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has handled the shovel.
And we figured he might bring some big equipment.
This is how intense Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was.
He brought his own shovel.
Did he have a letter?
I don't know.
I didn't see whether it was branded or anything.
He'd probably be you for an auction to get it.
So, but yeah, you know, came out a little publicity for the event.
And they came up and worked with the crew there getting rid of the snow.
they have put a lot of snow right behind the wall.
And so...
Like at the top of the grandstands?
No.
Oh, behind the wall down by the racetrack.
Yeah.
And so I'm hoping it doesn't melt and then...
No, boy.
...leaking a racetrack.
But that's, again, that's why you have wet weather tires, right?
If it does.
So, but, yeah, I mean, they've pulled out a lot of snow out of there.
I really kind of liked your idea of a snow removal.
provisional. I thought that was a fair.
They should get in the A-M-A because they're the only two guys to show up.
They got paid anyway, right?
Well, not necessarily paid, but I'm sure they got paid in points, if I had to guess.
Which gets them paid.
I don't think any driver has done anything in the last year and a half.
That was not directly related.
Drive an hour and a half into weather to get there to shovel for free.
Directly related to DAP in some way.
The greatest thing is, like, we were talking with Ricky and we're like, you're literally
shoveling, you're really getting seats cleared for people who are going to flip you off.
we're still mad about last year and you're
that's a good point
Burm Myers like you literally are
and he's like well maybe some of them
won't
maybe they won't since they saw he helped clear off
no I don't think they're going to care
no I think they're still going to flip him off
well lawsuits over but we never tailgated it so I need
to know like what it was I feel like I wasn't here
like the first day I would the start was
it December 1st I think I don't know where I was but I had people
DMing me on Twitter they're like hey we're looking for you
and Tommy and Freddie in the parking lot
I'm like Freddy's about to get on the witness stand
he's a little busy
I'm just kidding.
Yeah, no, I mean, listen, it kind of played out how some of the guys that were following or some of the media people told me it was going to play out probably in the middle of the season, I think.
And it just took longer to get there than I thought it needed to.
But at the end of the day, obviously, it was good news for 2311.
So good news for me.
I still have a job for the foreseeable future anyway until I fuck up to 500 again this year.
Maybe it's a little less term.
But, Bob, what was it?
I mean, for you, I know you recovered every day of it pretty much immensely.
You were doing the Lord's work in there, Bob.
That's how I stayed fully up to date was following everything.
Bob, and the tear down every night too.
Yeah, they did a good job, a good summary of that.
I told Gluckie should make sure he has a transcript of all of those tear downs, right?
Because then he's going to have a great, great, he pretty much read his notes, so you don't have to.
And then the, I mean, your notes.
But it was, you know, look, there were interesting times.
There were not so interesting times.
obviously there were some you know light times you know when Michael Jordan has to identify himself
and they're like hey we heard you were good in basketball you know they're trying to get because
you have to kind of introduce yourself of who you are and so that was that was you know a packed
courtroom of people wanting to hear Michael Jordan testify and and look the NASCAR's attorneys
weren't going to grill Michael Jordan and all that that much
right? It was a pretty, you know, and again, probably because, you know, while he's aware of pretty much everything, he's not the one day to day who's handling the money for 2311. So, but look, yeah, a lot of us thought it was going to be settled. I thought it might be settled weeks before trial or a day before trial or maybe two days into trial. I think made the biggest surprise it took eight days into trial before it settled.
It's still, I mean, the ramifications of it aren't over because it brings up a new charter agreement, right?
The teams have to sign and not everybody has instantly jumped on board with signing this, right?
I mean, I don't know any of the backstory really to it, but it sounds like not everybody is just so eager to jump on board and sign right away.
Yeah, I mean, obviously all that takes time for everybody to agree, to disagree, right?
I mean, it's a different set of circumstances.
You know, the thing is right now, I believe if I was in a position as an owner still, it's just,
now you want to make it all right, right?
You want to make it so everybody's happy, right?
It's just not like, oh, shit, we have to cave into this.
We've got to cave into that.
So now I think there's a lot of thought process from the teams and both sides, really,
of how do we really make it right to last to seven years or however long it's going to be?
But, yeah, I think there's some still disagreements going on between the teams,
what's going on, but I'm sure they get it worked out.
Another thing that has changed was the playoff format.
I know we talked about that tons on here last year.
It changed, what?
It changed, yeah, obviously.
Don't know if you heard.
But what are your thoughts on that and how you think it will translate into the coming years?
You know, I think that it was the best compromise at the end of the day.
I mean, I don't think we were ever going to go back to a full season, 36 race playoff.
But at the end of the day, this is where you still, you know, I heard Kyle's comments,
which kind of weird to me, like he was talking about one race, decided.
in your season. And, you know, he's like, if you get wrecked to Talladega, now you're out of it.
Well, no, there's still a reset. You know, that's the whole point of this is, you know,
there's still a reset of, you know, if you have a couple of bad races in that first round,
you're not out of it. You know, you can be, if you look at the guy that was 10th in points at the
cutoff this year, he was 200 points out of the lead. You know, now that guy next year, he'll
go from that 200 to 70 out with 10 races to go to go catch the guy. You know, the one that
may burn him a guy a little bit is the guy that's second in points because, you know,
the last few years I feel like we've had really good battles.
I know it was like a one-point battle between Reddick and Larson,
and then it was a tight battle this year.
I think Byron ended up winning, but that guy now,
if it's a tight battle going into that last race
the regular season cutoff, that guy might be three or four points behind.
Now he's going to get knocked back to 25 back.
So, you know, it makes the regular season championship matter that much more.
And I feel like it still legitimizes a 10-race series
where it's not a one-race champion.
And you can have some missteps along the way before the playoffs
and still get a reset.
Yeah, I think it's probably compromises, like you said, for everybody involved.
I didn't really pay attention how the fans reacted, Bob.
How do you think that went?
I think, well, there were a certain section of fans that were 36 races or I'm going to hate it.
And so they were not happy.
But I think everybody else who, I think most everybody else was happy.
And I think the majority were happy.
they certainly didn't like the one race championship.
And I think I didn't hear all of Kyle's comments,
but I wonder if you were saying that Talladega in the chase.
Now, if you get wrecked, that potentially hurts you more than before where, you know,
there was a reset, right?
So, but look, I've always thought that the 10 race chase chase was the hardest to win
because, gosh, you saw Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Gordon go at it.
And there were times where I want to say Gordon average.
like a 5 or 5.1 or 5.2 and it didn't beat Jimmy, you know, for the finish.
So I think you can get one potentially bad race, but if you have two or more in that 10,
it's going to be really hard to make up for it.
But what I really like about this is that, you know, NASCAR has to make a lot of judgment calls.
And we're always like, and I feel like this, at least if they make a call that you're not happy with,
you know, you have time to make up for it.
While in a three race round, you know, a call that they make or a decision that they make, you know,
or throwing a caution that you didn't agree with, at least there's more races that you can say,
okay, there's a bigger body of work and the impact of one call isn't as great.
Yeah, Tommy, one thing that I think I take away from it, the win and you're in is gone.
And as somebody that kind of prefers a cleaner version of racing, I think that kind of,
eliminates that desperation move, especially like the shit we see at Martinsville the last few years leading into the last race.
You don't have that desperation. I need to win this race to transfer to the finals or whatever.
So does that clean up some of that where you're not going to see the guy come from five car lengths back to wipe the guy out just for an extra 10 points?
I mean, he's going to want it. There's an emphasis on winning, but there's not such a desperation where you're going to do something stupid.
Yeah, I think it'll help a little bit, but it depends on the reset, right, at the time of the reset,
and how many points you're behind, right, and where you're going to be, you know, so, I don't know,
it's going to be interesting. I mean, I think it kind of takes away, like, and then every other sport,
right, I've always said it's like everybody really has a chance up until the end, right?
I mean, like, the wild card and all that. I just, I know we're doing half the field pretty much,
still top 16, right, to get started.
But, you know.
What do you think about that?
Too many, right?
No, I don't think it's too many.
I mean, I think hockey's too many.
That's pretty much the whole.
That is half the few.
Yeah, half.
But I don't think it's too many.
I think it gives a couple guys that are struggling,
but are really good to reset and maybe come on strong and have a story,
you know, but I think you're still going.
going to get a couple guys that aren't going to get in the top 16 in points that could be
storylines during the last part of the races that are no longer going to be storylines, right?
Because it's just going to be, well, he's out of the playoffs, so we're hardly going to talk about
him.
That actually leads me into a good question, or a question that I had for Bob was with the format
change as a journalist on your side of things, does that change your approach to storylines or what
you might follow throughout the year or kind of like how you would set that kind of stuff up,
if anything.
Absolutely.
I think I tell you what,
my calculator won't get a whole,
won't get near as much use, right?
I won't be texting, like,
and trying to do the math,
oh, is this got,
has this driver clinched after this stage?
And so,
Bob, they had a thing on the TV,
on the, you can get that.
Bob's a little busy.
Yeah.
You don't have to do the old style
calculator stuff, you know.
Bob does it on pen and paper.
Yeah, I know.
Pen and paper, you know,
who do you think's helping,
when they say this person is.
You can watch it.
You can watch it.
He's the one that's sending that to Fox to run a TV.
You and what's his name did that 175 point thing together back in 72, right?
But I do think, you know, there is a theory that, hey, we spend so much time talking about who's about to get eliminated that you don't focus as much on the drivers who are really running the best.
And I agree with that.
Like, I think now is that a good thing or a bad thing, I guess you could argue, right?
because if you're on the bubble, at least you're getting, you're being talked about.
But I do think that it certainly helps you keep focus on who's running the best.
And I mean, look, I think it was 20 or 30 minutes after Homestead before I knew Ryan Blaney had won the race.
I was so focused on the championship.
I didn't even know who won that race.
I hope somebody in the back of the points towards the back of the top 16 gets hot.
And that creates a really good storyline.
I mean like Tony Stewart.
Like a wild card.
Yeah, like a Tony Stewart story from when he won.
But like a while, you know, treating it like a wild card, you know.
What is it?
It's 100 points, right?
Yeah.
First to 50.
Yeah, I mean, it's possible, very possible.
Yeah.
Have you guys been watching the RAM TV show?
I have.
I have.
Did you have you got a chance?
I know it's kind of on YouTube.
I know it's.
That may be hard for Tommy to get to.
Tommy's been working on modified.
I haven't had time to do shit.
To be honest,
to be between everything.
Watch it time and a half.
And then you can watch a 45-minute episode and 30 minutes.
I saw it.
You are.
No spoilers.
I'm only on episode three.
Oh, we won't get into what happened.
Well, there's one thing.
Episode three.
We got to talk about a couple things, but.
No, that's fine.
Yeah.
What have you thought about it?
I mean, you know a lot of these guys.
How are they portrayed on television versus real life?
That honestly is the coolest thing is to watch, you know, some of our car store guys on it.
So far, they're all, nobody's got a villain at it.
Everybody's acting about how I would normally.
But I will say, like, I thought, from our approach.
perspective watching it as people that are already in the industry and kind of know what's truly
going on behind the scenes. I thought I was going to find it kind of corny. But I haven't. I thought
it's been pretty entertaining. I like the way that they've done the challenges and the groups.
And I also like the fact that they're all staying in a house together. So you do get like that
personality side of them. There's a good part of that coming up in episode five or six, I think.
I like, I think it was the first or second episode. We already started off with like some drama.
And Tanner Rife spoke up and Chris Rice was like, yeah. Listen, Chris, I've known Chris a long time.
I worked from a long time, but, like, Tanner was right, buddy.
Like, I don't know.
So they go to somewhere legend cars.
I watched the first one day.
And they're all better.
And Tanner's like, hey, man.
He's like, the tens of piece of shit.
And poor Tanner.
Like, I don't know Tanner at all.
And, like, that first episode, I was like, man, I like this kid.
Yeah.
And he is slowly losing my enthusiasm about him because I don't know.
Like, this is the way he comes.
He comes off a little brash, which I listen, that's what sometimes you got to do.
But, like, last night they're doing a gym challenge.
And he walks in the gym with sunglasses and a beanie on.
and I'm like, oh, boy.
and he's got into it with somebody in the house maybe at one point of the show.
The best thing about that house is like they had to give up all their phones on computer,
so they didn't have any connection to any.
Yeah.
Our boy, Mikey, he's been doing a great job right up until the last two episodes.
From what I hear.
I mean, on the track, he's been phenomenal.
We've had issues off the track.
The dumbass gets out of a truck.
He's doing a commercial for RAM with his hat on backwards,
so you can't see the RAM logo.
idiot.
Then last night he can't jump rope.
I mean...
Yeah, I think he posted something this morning
that his athletic skills
showed up.
It's a really good thing.
He's a race car driver?
He struggled in the gym challenge
because Rocky Balboa
did not teach him anything
about jump roping.
I told him we're going to double Dutch next week
down at a couple bars in a
in Daytona.
Now, why don't we just go to the gym in the morning,
Freddie?
Where is that?
What bars that?
There's a nice gym in New Sumerna.
I ain't going to New Somerna.
I won't say it,
but also the winner has been the worst kept secret,
I think, in the entire history of the world.
I think everyone knows.
It's, you know, I don't want.
But it's hard.
There is a reason why we still all have to go to the truck test on Friday.
Yeah, that's what I think?
Like, when's the last episode?
I don't even know.
Like, is the last episode going to be before or after the truck test
where the guy that won is driving the truck for everybody to see?
I don't know.
I think he's going to go under an alias.
Well, I mean, look, because he's really hard to miss.
I think anybody, everybody knows that you have to.
if you haven't run a NASCAR race before much,
you're going to have to do the ARCA race,
even though it's the day after the truck race.
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense.
You probably have to do the test.
You have to do the test,
and only two of the drivers.
I think that's kind of how everyone figured it out.
We're at the ARCA test,
and one of them isn't performing very well in the, in the, so far.
So it's pretty.
You can put two and two together.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But no, I think it's great.
I think it's been cool.
I think it's great that Tony's running Daytona for them guys.
That's going to be awesome.
to see him back. Last night's episode was really cool. Biffle was on last night's episode
talking to the guys. So it was kind of, you know, you get a little choked up when you see him
pop up on the screen there for a sec. But yeah, I think what they got going on is great is drinking
a lot of hype. There is a lot of people that have decided they don't like Chris Rice during the show.
And I don't like Chris Rice. Like I said, I worked for him for a long time and he is.
He's just a happy, he's just guys. He's just a guy. He's just a guy. Just watch you to smile.
You know, I mean. Just smile.
I feel like he's one of those people like either love or you hate.
Like you can take him or leave him and he is what he is.
Yeah, but he's not.
But not in a bad.
I know, but the thing is with Chris, he's not faking it.
No, that's what I mean.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
And most times those people are the ones that you either love or you hate because not everybody can.
Faking what he's doing.
It's just,
not everyone can handle the truth.
Yeah, there's, I mean, just go back to the show quick.
There's guys on that show that I rarely don't follow very often.
Like Carson Ferguson's a kid that's doing really well on the show that I, I know him because he's Chris Ferguson's cousin.
but that's all I know about him.
You know what I mean?
I've never really seen him race.
I've seen him pop up
and some dirt late model stuff,
but he's doing a really good job.
You know, there's guys on there
that I really didn't.
So it's doing what it's intended to do
is shine a light on some of these guys
that you don't know.
I'm sure a lot of people don't know who Austin
and Mikey really well,
but there's probably a whole slew of people down here
that I've never heard of those two guys.
That's why I work so hard getting both of them kids
on, you know, part of it
because, you know, I told him,
I said, no matter what happens,
it's going to be a good experience for you to understand.
Yeah, yeah, now he's going to have to go to the gym.
But, you know, it's going to be a good experience for them to learn all the different aspects of the race and world that they're not accustomed to.
I mean, they're never going to have gotten race VIR in a light model, right?
No, and then they're not going to, they probably, you know, they're going to get more recognized now by the show than ever.
And so hopefully a lot of those kids' opportunities happen because of it, you know.
I know they want to give a lot of opportunities.
I do wonder whether it be better if it was more 8 to 10.
where you got to maybe know each of those a little bit more.
And it's, I mean, it's hard for me to follow,
and I was there for a whole day watching them all race.
Yeah, I think following it now, you know, with Stewart,
and you got these, you know, the All-Star car.
And now you see Chevolets doing some things, right?
There's just now what, now it's getting into such part of the marketing part of what we have going on.
It's like, what about the racing?
Right? What about the kids that are the future, right? Now we're like, we're worried about
marketing. So you can see a big trend happening.
You know, before we move on, I just want to give you an opportunity to talk about Luke.
Luke's running, I don't know how many races. I don't know if it's even decided yet.
12 truck races. And it's for Team Ream or Ream brothers. And listen, that's not been a top-tier team
over the years, but I've talked to you numerous times about this in the off-season.
Like, that's something that you feel like is a good opportunity for him. You feel like
they're going to take a step up this year. I know it was met with a lot.
lot of criticism of why the hell's Luke doing this?
Why is Luke doing this?
Well, it's a good opportunity.
It gives them a chance to run more races than we normally could with the funding that
we have, number one.
Number two, we're putting a lot of effort into.
We got, you know, we got a nice little deal of front row.
So he's got a front row truck, an updated front row truck that he's going to start out with
the Rockingham test on Friday.
Trip Bruce, who's my brother in Lars, is kind of overseeing everything with Luke's 12
races.
So, you know, obviously he's won the championship.
he's won a lot of races in a truck series with a lot of different drivers.
So started, you know,
Freud,
you know, Stuart Freezing's deal from the ground up.
So put them in the playoffs second year.
So, yeah, I feel good about it.
It's just, you know, you got to take the opportunities as they come.
And, you know, all the people that we've talking to about the future,
you know, at the bottom, at the end of the day,
they felt that with that team where he could run versus other teams,
if he ran would be better for him.
So we just said, hell, what, let's do it.
So here we are.
Hellwood it, let's do it.
One more thing before we get in a spot on, spot off.
Poor Brad Kozlowski.
He broke his leg and doesn't even have a cool story.
Yeah, I know.
I've heard a lot of people break their leg skiing.
He's another one that can't jump rope.
Not many to do it in a minute.
And he shouldn't be skiing.
Brad Kesel-laf.
He wasn't.
He wasn't.
He broke his leg getting out of the car.
Whatever.
He shouldn't even be getting out of the car.
Oh, okay.
He should stay in the car.
Brad, stay in the car.
The good news that came out of it, though, I've heard, is T.J. is taking good care of Brett.
Oh, sure. I mean, it's...
I'm sure.
That's why he couldn't come on the show today.
Yeah, T.J. was busy.
I'm sure.
Was he also spotting him when he got out of the show?
Yeah, he's probably the one that pushed him if I had to guess.
But it's nice if T.J. do that.
I mean, the sponge bets get a little awkward, but, I mean, that's people helping people.
It's friendly, friendly confines over there at R.
I was driving by R.F.K. this morning, leaving the shop.
And Keselotsky's truck was in the handicapped spot.
I laughed.
There was no ice around it, right?
They didn't clean that up.
That was the only spot that had no ice.
They did not shovel anything in the whole complex.
It's weird how that works.
What great opportunity for Corey LaJoy?
Yeah, yeah, good opportunity.
Brad's supposed to run Daytona, I would assume, or has it?
Does he have a license yet?
There's something I'm reading somewhere.
So he takes a day.
Is that AI?
No, that wasn't AI.
No, no, no, he would respond because somebody was like,
hey, with the clash being a few days later,
could you possibly run the clash?
And he's like, no, I still have to do my test,
which I think was supposed to be early this week.
So I must have moved to probably later this week.
But what I haven't talked to him,
but this is what I'm guessing is that, you know,
he has to be off all of the medication, right,
before he can race.
So I assume to pass the drug test,
he would have to probably start weaning himself.
The licensing process is a lot easier now than it used to be,
because I forgot.
And like last week,
the lady that works in the office.
Me too.
She's like,
hey,
are you planning on going to the clash in two days?
I was like,
yeah, why?
She's like,
you might want to fill out
your NASCAR license.
And do your gambling thing.
And did you do your drug test?
I was like,
oh yeah,
all right.
I'll do it right now.
And literally the next day
I had my heart card.
I was like,
okay,
I guess this process is changed.
I got my,
I have to pick mine up at the trailer.
Well,
that's what kept the entry list
from coming out.
It's because so many drivers
apparently hadn't gotten
all their paperwork in and they can't be listed.
I understand that some people follow the sport a lot closer than others.
What a non-story that turned into like,
all my,
I kept getting tweets about,
why is the entry list not out?
I don't know.
I'm sure you get it because they probably rely on you to post it.
Right.
But like,
well,
we need it for,
you know,
for graphics and everything that we're working on it.
The normal fan was freaking out about it.
Yeah.
The same guys are going to be there.
You know who's driving.
Yeah.
Yeah,
you never know.
Yeah.
Like when the rosters were out and there was,
Like one of the roster, one of the teams didn't have their driver listed.
I was like, oh, well, better check on that.
I learned about all the spotter changes from Bob.
Because Bob will text me when the roster's come out.
He goes, hey, so-and-so is not on the roster.
I don't know.
I'm kidding.
Let's go find out what happened.
But Brad, I mean, man, he did a number on his leg.
Yeah, I didn't even see what he wrote.
I said he sheared his femur.
Oh, that, like, from right under his hip, he said, you know,
like he couldn't feel like, he could feel his calf up to the neck.
knee, but then the thigh area, there was some, you know, some nerve issues.
Hell of a fall.
Did somebody run them over?
He just said he slipped and just fell the wrong way.
I would say.
I would say he definitely fell the wrong way.
You know, and he's talking six, seven hours of therapy a day.
Some of it strenuous and others just, you know, where they're, saying, getting prodded and squeezed and everything.
Right.
Oh, boy.
That's, Daytona's easy.
Actually, no.
Sorry, sorry, it's actually about 40, 50%.
Yeah, don't lie, don't lie.
He will have to also show, I think, NASCAR, that test that he can get in and out of the car.
Yeah, that's usually the biggest thing.
Hey, DBC fans, it's Mike Davis here, and I have a quick question for you.
I want you to be honest.
How frustrating is it when you don't have the right tool in your toolbox when you're doing a job?
Or even more, what about when the tools break?
I'm telling you what, there's nothing more frustrating.
I've been there.
That's why I want to tell you something that I have found to be super reliable, and I am proud to tell you about it.
Cancut drill bits and cutting tools.
Now, these are American-made, family-owned drill bits that automotive and fabrication pros have trusted for decades.
And once you use them, you will know why.
And now you can save 25% off the entire order with code Dirty Mo.
I will tell you about the first day I used can't cut.
Yeah, I remember it.
I had this old steel gate on my property.
I needed to run some wire through it, which meant I needed to drill through some steel beams.
I had just the standard everyday multi-use drill bits and did not even come close to making a dent in this steel, and it snapped.
I throw my tantrum as I typically do, and yeah, I went to go find a solution.
Now, fortunately, I had a buddy of mine that told me about canned cut.
I bought my first can cut drill bits.
It changed my life.
I'm telling you something.
I will never go back.
I will never go back.
The way it just bites through that steel, it was a game changer.
But it makes sense because these drill bits, they're made from premium high-speed steel with high vanadium content.
Then salt nitride treated.
That hardness, it's not just on the surface.
It's built all the way through the bit.
That means they'll drill into stainless steel, even titanium alloy, without giving up on you.
That 135-degree split point, no center punch.
No pilot holes.
You just pull the trigger and you go.
Here's the deal. It costs less because you're finishing the job, not replacing tools. It's the best bang for your buck.
Check out cancut.com and use code dirty mo for 25% off your order. That's k-n-kut.com with code dirty mo.
Don't compromise. Use what the pros use. Get it done right the first time with USA-made Can-Cut drill bits and cutting tools.
Spot on. Spot on. Did you want to go?
first on this one. I think he's a whiny bit.
That's what I think.
Send it.
Why me?
All right, well, I will say it's been a peaceful
off season, not hearing your strong
opinions in my left and right ears every
Monday morning, but it is now time for spot
on, spot off again.
Number one. We're not even talking about
Haley Deegan back in Arca.
Here we fucking go again.
You don't ever even know what page
we're on, so just chill.
Let me do my job.
She's back in Arca West.
Yeah, well, let's continue.
All right.
Yeah, welcome back.
Yeah, welcome back.
Yeah, we'll talk about it next time.
Welcome back, Kaylee.
Good luck.
The clash should have never left Daytona, spot on, spot off.
Tommy.
I think it's spot on.
I mean, that was, to me, growing up and being part of it,
that's what really started off Speed Weeks, right, was the clash.
So, yeah, I know, I understand what we're doing, right?
What we're trying to do, and I'm glad we close to home,
and it's Bowman Gray, short track.
One thing, but, man, we're always going to take.
Chances with weather.
Bob, I had, yeah, I had to get a laugh because the reason, and I'm spot on to go back to Daytona if it's done correctly, which we'll get into in a minute.
But the reason we're not in Daytona is because everybody that wants it that's complaining that we should go back there, bitch that we needed to get out of there because the last couple of races at the speedway sucked.
You know, the last race at the speedway that we ran single file until we all crashed at the end.
I mean, I'm spot off on this because L.A. Coliseum, the first race there, the atmosphere was pretty,
cool, right? The Bowman Gray last year, the atmosphere was pretty cool. Way better than the
atmosphere at Daytona for the clash. Yeah. So now if you can figure out a way to get to get that
atmosphere back down in Daytona or in the Daytona area, sure. Well, it's, I like it. It's so hard
nowadays with people and what they're doing. I mean, they don't have, they don't make the time to spend
a week there anymore, you know what I'm saying? It's expensive. It's expensive. It's expensive.
for the average family to do anymore.
I think ideally now, listen, I
love what we're doing at Bowman Gray. I think
it was great that we went there. Like Bob said,
the place was electric last year, and I
would love to just continue to go back there. And listen, this is
we can probably do that because what happened
this week is not going to fucking happen every year.
You know what I mean? It might be cold.
And I know we were critical of it
on the show when it got announced maybe
last year or the year before, but it was because
it was going to be cold. Not because it was going to be a foot of
snow. Like that was never really a
problem. Yes, it's probably going to
be cold at the end of January, early February down here, but it still puts on a good race.
So last year was fun.
But ideally, I think it needs to go back to Daytona, if you're going to do it the right way.
Eliminate everybody's in.
It's back to poll winners and playoff guys.
This way, you're going to have 15 and 20 cars in the race and make it 20 laps.
The reason why it became shitty at Daytona, my opinion, is because you added a pit stop.
You know, once you went to the race was long enough where you needed fuel, we all just rode around
the whole half of the race until we needed fuel.
Then maybe we race at the end because the pit stop was done.
If you go and make it 20, 25 laps with 15, 20 cars, it's going to be a show.
You know, and I think you do it Wednesday, or Friday, like.
Do the same thing what they're trying to do with short tracks.
Try something different, right?
Soften the tires, right?
Make some handling come into play.
Try something different for that race so we can go into the 500 the next year or the Fourth of July race
with something, a better product.
Yeah.
Right?
it's just going to, you know, it needs to evolve a little bit there.
You know, it's getting, I know we talked about it a little bit last year.
It's getting to the point, all right, Daytona 500 is the Daytona 5.
It's the biggest race in the year.
Don't get me wrong, but we all know what we're doing, right?
It's the same now.
It's not as, like, exciting for a crew chief or anybody to make the car handle or do certain things, right?
It's a few mileage race.
It's already laid out what we're going to do.
do. Some cautions might come out when we don't want them to, but we'll react, we'll race,
and we'll go to Atlanta.
Yeah.
And we'll debate when the caution should have come out on the final lap.
You forgot that, Tommy.
Come on.
Do you think moving it back to Daytona and keeping it there would eventually be the same
problem where it loses its luster?
And it's like, okay, we're another five years down the road and we're like, all right,
where else can we move this to again?
Yes.
But I think that if you make it part of Speed Weeks again, and like I, I think that if you make it part of Speed Weeks
again. And like I said, if you make it a short enough race, we're going to put a better show on.
You know, I don't know. It doesn't create a big enough TV window to sell enough sponsors
because I think that's why we made the race longer to begin with. But, you know, just make it
an exhibition of 20, 25 laps with 20 cars and let these guys go and just drive their ass off.
And to your point, tell me about, you know, I remember back the one we used to go down there
when I first started or like just before I first started, you know, it was like if you
were the fastest in qualifying, that team walked around there with their chest poked out.
like we're some bad motherfuckers and we know we brought the fastest car down here.
Now it's like, we don't really give a shit where we qualify because we know it doesn't matter.
Like we're going to ride around half throttle anyway until time and figure out and see where the cards fall.
So I just...
Well, and I think the other question would be with Atlanta now being a super speedway event.
You know, I think that was the issue of when there was chatter about could you go to Daytona with all the snow here?
And everybody's like, no, I'm enough super speedway cars for that.
Yeah, yeah, that was never even an option.
So, you know, would you need to move Atlanta to a little later just...
If you fell for the backstretch joke, you're an idiot because they're going to have grandstands back there anymore.
You know, people were saying we're going to move it and run the backstretch like we did a couple years ago.
That was AI. Tommy believed it.
I heard that it was actually...
I mean, it was thrown out there.
But did you put some grandstands up?
I mean...
Nobody...
We're going to do that one.
I mean, it was talk about not having fans this week, right?
I mean, it's possible, I guess.
Yeah, I mean, I'm probably in the minority of this, but I was like, if you had a choice between no fans and doing this clash, like at a later date, I would vote later date.
I mean, because Bowman Gray with.
Bowman Gray.
That's kind of what makes the place cool as the atmosphere.
Even like New Smyrner, right?
New Smyrner.
Smyrner.
There's a lot of Hirs in there.
No Smerner.
Even if they put walls up there, I mean, like, look, Saturday night for the modified tour race is going to be packed.
Yeah.
I mean, standing room only.
They're going to have to close the gate.
That's how many people are going to be there usually.
Now, that would be sick.
Right.
So, I mean, go somewhere where it's warm.
Yeah.
Yeah, we don't have to race here.
Yeah.
And listen, so ideally, I think you take that.
Move the clash back to Daytona,
and then we move the All Star Race to Bowman Gray for a million dollars
and watch each other and kill each other for a million.
We'd put a car in the grandstands, honestly.
I guarantee it.
That would be fun.
Hendrick Motorsports will win the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series Championship
because the new format favors them more than any
other team spot on spot off
Bob
are you allowed to like say
well I mean I would say spot off because
right now my championship pick is Blaney
but I mean
when you think about people that
should benefit from this I think
you look at Elliot and
Byron and William Byron's first one that
and Bowman I think it helps
take some pressure off him and
gets him in the
place in the chase
so I mean I think it helps
Hendrick Motorsports potentially more than any other
organization. Kyle Larson, you could go either way, right?
Yeah, six, you know, he took everything in me when he said six seven
earlier not to do it.
I mean, six, uh, you know, six seven inches video.
I mean, it's, uh, yeah, well, you know, have some, have some fun, but, uh, you know, uh,
yeah, for, for, for Kyle's six seven wins and six seven DNFs, right?
is the concern with him.
He doesn't have that many.
You know, I'm spot on because,
it's not designed to help them, I don't think.
But if you look, the last two years,
they've had three of the top five at the regular season cutoff.
So now they're going to have that advantage going in where, you know,
that got jumbled up with playoff points.
At the end of the day, Hendrick, Gibbs, and Penske are going to be the one.
But you look, you say that, but you look at it,
like Penske needs to get consistent.
You know, other than Blaney.
I said one of, you know, I'm just saying those groups, within those three organizations will be fighting for the championship.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, they've won the last 14,000 championships over there.
But, you know, it thinks, you know, Penske is the one I'd be most concerned about because they're just the consistency across the board.
If you look, other than Blaney, they haven't had anybody in the top 10 in regular, at the end of the regular season,
Lugano's been outside the top 10 in the last three or four years.
Only one guy wins a championship.
Yeah, but I'm just saying, like, consistency is.
Ryan Blaney.
Yeah.
Blaney's got as good a shot as anybody.
To your point.
But he had a lot of D-Fs last year.
That's going to be hard to make up this year.
To your point, Freddie, how many that, because you're saying Penske, you know,
didn't have all of them in, how many that made the playoffs last year do you think might not
based on the format changing?
Not just you, everybody.
I would have to look.
Do you have that?
Do we have, like, who was in it last year that we could look at?
By the way, the tweet, did you guys see that tweet I sat out this morning with Reaction Theater?
Yes, I retweeted it.
Has your phone?
Oh, here it comes.
Really?
Seriously?
I just saw it light up.
Seriously?
You motherf.
Was that really?
Yes.
A text?
Yeah, a screening call.
Oh, my God.
All these calls that he thought were spam.
So Tommy lost DVD picks last year.
And we never went to dinner.
So I decided, I don't know if you were here for this this morning,
but I decided that this morning this afternoon.
I decided that I was going to tweet his phone number as the reaction theater number.
And now I'm seeing phone call.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I wonder, did you leave any voicemails?
Oh, no.
I'm going to kill you.
You have reached Tommy's phone.
What is your voicemail?
His voicemail is probably like,
oh, my God.
I didn't even feel your voicemail.
You probably don't even have a voicemail.
Is it even set up?
I'm not now.
His voicemail box is full.
I hope he has, like, the transcript, like in some of your phones.
My phone you get transcript.
How are we going to get the real reaction?
action theater.
I tweeted the real number the day before.
Oh,
but we're going to have to get them off your voicemail, probably.
Here it go.
I love that his biggest concern is, well, how are we going to do the real reaction here?
It's all blocked calls.
I guess you can't call.
I guess you don't want you to have their phone number.
Oh, my God.
I'm going to kill you.
I didn't even say it was your number, though.
I mean, I just said it don't matter.
You are saying it right now, you dumbass.
My favorite thing is going to, what's going to happen is Luke is going to call, thinking he's calling into reaction theater.
Get his dad.
His dad's going to pick up.
He's like,
Luke knows my phone.
Wait, I thought it was an reaction theater.
I doubt that's true.
Sorry, time.
Well, you know, it's fun.
Let's get a new phone number.
It'll be fine.
That's why you should have taken us to dinner.
We've had it since 94.
Everybody.
Well, you'll be all right.
They'll stop in a day or two.
Yeah, it'll mellow out.
And they don't know it's your phone number, so they won't keep.
You fucking sane are you dumbass?
Well, they don't know it right now.
Here we go.
At least they're, at least they're,
screen in it.
It's automatically.
Yeah, my iPhone is asking.
Are you sure?
Yeah.
All right, I'm sorry.
Keep coming.
Do you guys even want to give you points?
I forgot.
Who made the playoffs last year?
How many guys that made the playoffs last year
would miss it this year, perhaps,
in everyone's opinion?
I would say it's probably
you got guys like
Barry would probably be
one that would be
have a tough time making it
I'd have to look and see
SVG?
SVG?
I don't know, man.
SBG, I think SVG could easily make it
just because the difference in points
with the
with, you know, getting so many more points.
Well, actually save that opinion for last
because it kind of does go into our next topic.
Yeah, Austin Dillon.
Centric would have a hard time.
But it's also 16.
So, you know, it's not, they don't got to get,
when you were trying to point your way in before,
you had to get to,
probably like 9th or 10th.
You know, now you can still point your way in the 16th.
So it's, it's still be questionable.
But I would say there's probably a good, if I listen from me,
it's probably a good three or four guys that would be out.
Like guys that didn't make it last year,
I can't remember who didn't make it.
But like Busher.
The three RFA drivers, Ty Gibbs, and Kyle Busch would probably be the year of five.
Yeah.
Busher is going to be in.
He's too consistent.
Preece is going to be in, I think.
He's got too much speed.
Brad, hopefully he's okay.
I think if he is, he's okay.
You know, he'll be in.
So those are the,
guys that would probably replace them, I think.
Well, then that kind of does go
to my topic three. Back on to SVG,
Shane Van Gisberg and will be the most improved driver
this season, spot on, spot off, buddy?
I can't stop laughing. Oh, I know.
He's pissed.
What's the blood pressure numbers?
127 over...
128 over 78.
128 over 78.
Honestly, we just need a doorbopper clear shirt
that says 128 over 78
on it. What was the question?
The question was,
Van Gidsbergen will be the most improved driver this season, spot on, spot off.
It's hard to say he's going to be the most improved because he had 100 wins last year.
He will be the most improved on ovals, I think, for sure.
I can say we're really just to be.
He was showing that at the end of last year.
Their second, really the playoffs, the second half of the year maybe, you could say he really
stepped it up.
They made the cars better and whatever he figured out,
especially at places where you had to manage tires a little bit.
And he was really good, I thought.
Do you think having Connor over there, too, where they can kind of feed off of each other with their similarities on, like, road course racing and then what Connor has obviously been able to do on OVos?
Yeah.
It's certainly not going to hurt it.
I think it's going to tighten up all three drivers, to be honest with you.
Yeah.
I think it's, I think that team's going to take.
I would say, I mean, definitely Ross will get in.
We know that probably top 16.
And I would think one of those, there's going to be a couple of surprises there.
Yeah.
I mean, there's guys, like, Hosevar, I think, can point his way in if he stops, you know, if he, if he, if he, if he.
I was going to ask you that.
With some of the consistent weeks he had last year,
like if he can, you know, stretch that across a longer point of the year,
like I don't think it's far off to say that he would make the chase.
No, he's got the speed to do it.
It's just can he stop fucking up?
Yeah, we'll see.
I mean, when I look at who's other drivers who potentially could be improved,
I'm looking at Eric Jones because I think Legacy's got a little bit more tie-in with Toyota this year.
And I really want to see what Noah Gregson does.
does because you thought last year they were going to be okay and it just never clicked.
I feel like a lot of unfortunate shit happened to know a last year.
I thought towards the end of the year, Zane was really running pretty well as well.
And, you know, if he can carry that over, that team, that's a group of guys that
stayed together this year.
And he's got a long-term deal there.
Yeah, the thing is you probably got about 10 to 12 of that same group of guys.
Yeah, they're all right there together.
John Hunter.
They're probably going to be fighting for 14, 15th, and 16, 12 guys, you know, at the end.
So it's going to be a good storyline for sure.
There are eight cars going for four open spots in the Daytona 500,
spot on the four drivers who will make it,
and spot off the four drivers who will miss it,
and tell me why one of your spot-ons is Justin Algeier in the 40 car.
Bob, go ahead.
You want to go for a judge?
I'll go Justin Allgaier.
I might get in.
Corey Heim will get in.
Corey LaJoy will get in.
And, oh, man.
So four go home.
I would say Chandler Smith probably gets in.
Yeah.
The, I mean, look, I think...
The 40 and the 99 get in on speed.
Yeah.
Okay, they get in on the speed,
and so then it's up to the other six guys.
You don't think the 36 get in on speed?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, so the 36 and the 99 will get on speed.
Yeah.
The Ford just, I mean, you've seen it in the last couple years,
especially the...
Now, you know, the bodies are different for the show.
Right, but that's another...
That's an unknown.
there. I think 36 is in.
I think the 99's in. I have
to go to the 67's in.
6.7.
And I guess we'll go with Allgaier.
He's got to get up there and make shit happen, though, in the race
probably. Yeah. Hey, we did last year?
We did. It's all good, made some noise.
How do you feel about Jimmy Johnson getting the open
exemption provisional?
I don't love anybody getting a provisional
in the race, but... I don't... Look,
Guy that does that much... Yeah.
If somebody's going to get it, he
should get it. Last year...
Did Helio get it last year?
It was Helio got it last year.
But remember last year it was like, if you don't make it in regularly, then you can fall back on it.
Now you've got to say, hey, I'm going to take it before the race weekend.
So he's not even...
So Jimmy gets it and he has said, you know, and I mean, that's a lot of money.
So he doesn't have to run like anything leading up?
I mean, he has to actually start.
Well, yeah.
But yeah, no, he's in.
He's in.
There's 41 spots.
and he will not get money or points.
So that's a lot of...
I mean, you're talking...
I mean, that's a potential half million dollars.
But, you know, to be guaranteed in
for your sponsors and everything.
He's the reason we had to get rid of this last clash
because he was so good.
Half million, he'll be all right.
Hey, what's up, everybody?
We have officially dropped some all-new
Dirtymo Media merchandise at shop.
DirtyMohmedia.com.
It is live right now, our official
new green flag collection as well as
our limited time only Valentine's Day collection.
We have a brand new Dirty Mo Media shirt called the Spotter Stand Out right now.
It is by far my favorite for obvious reasons.
I'm sure you can see why, but all the merch across the board is amazing.
Shop.Dirtymodea.com.
All right. Well, Tommy, if you can pull up your voicemail,
it's time for reaction theater.
Where fans can call in and voice their opinions from this weekend's race.
and best reactions make the final show.
I think we should have Tommy call in.
Our real number.
And give his reaction to his phone number now being the reaction theater hotline.
I was going to say our real number if you need to call it is 704, 802-9572.
But do we have some actual real ones from Freddie's real number?
Some actual fans did call it.
They're still calling.
Okay.
Pigs have flown.
They got rid of the point.
They said they would never get rid of.
This is great.
Now, what about the car?
And pigs fly in that department, too?
Real talk, is that,
is there a potential that that literally ever,
like, changes in a way that would go back to kind of like what you've talked about,
Tommy?
And, like, instead of it changing and progressing into more of a robot car.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, is there a way, is there any world where anything gets back to legit?
No.
And listen, our racing wasn't that bad.
last year for the most part.
I mean, it's just, it's evolved,
it's evolved to the thought process of,
different thought process, right,
of fuel mileage stuff.
I mean, look, if Darrell Walter won the Daytona 500 on fuel mileage,
has anyone said anything about that?
Yeah, I think that.
Do you remember, were you all in?
I remember.
I still more remember the,
the icky shuffle at the end.
Yeah, I mean, that's still what I remember.
He cried and then did the,
Yeah, I mean, I remember.
Look, I think if we keep working on the things that we're working on, which is fuel to the exhaust and tires, right?
Horsepower and tires, we're going to get better.
We have pretty much proven that all the other things that we do doesn't matter, right?
And everything that we have done with the tire has made a difference, right, so far.
So let's keep working on it.
Yeah, yeah.
So I'm watching this video about this new points format, and they're talking to this World War I dictator.
He spread the stale toast in one off season.
I'm assuming he's talking about the fact that he's born?
I thought you thought Briscoe was AI.
Yeah, you did.
Briscoe was AI, by the way.
Oh, he was?
Yeah, he probably never saw that.
It was on social media.
Briscoe posted a picture himself, bald.
That was AI.
Actually, he looks pretty good.
He looks pretty decent, bald.
I heard it was, I don't know if anybody here, Elijah probably had a media.
day that day, but I heard it was like
the big thing was like to find Brisco and see if that was
real or not.
Like where's Waldo?
That's great. But yeah.
I like ball jelly. I'll tell you what.
The most distracting thing about that entire
announcement was Blaney's mustache.
Yeah. What is
going on with that kid, man?
He was supposed to be here yesterday.
He was the guest for yesterday.
Unfortunately, he's out of town probably getting DAP points
right now, I'd assume.
So he's going to circle back in a couple weeks.
make that bald picture of Chase Brisco off the screen.
It's like staring at me.
It's just glaring at me.
Yeah.
Blaine's mustache ruin the...
I don't know how you ask a serious question looking at that guy.
All right, everybody, at this year's edition of the class, Snowflake 1,
price of the snowflake 2.
Here comes Snowflake J on the outtie.
Here comes Snowflake 4.
Snowflake 5.
Holy shit.
Noflake number 789, 10, 11, draw, 3, 4, 50.
Holy fuck, they're 17 wide.
It is nothing but snow out here.
Snow, snow, snow, snow.
Holy fuck, I am getting plastered a night, boy.
hopefully we're not doing the same thing with raindrops tomorrow.
Hey, I ain't the weather, man, but I can see where it ain't fucking snow in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to have a fucking race prior to Daytona in North Carolina anywhere.
I mean, that L.A. stuff was pretty damn stupid, but come on.
Move that some bitch back of Florida.
Well, that was a pretty good race last year.
It was a good two or three years in L.A.
and by the way, I think there was snow flurries that day in Daytona
that I saw a bunch of videos up.
So it did snow there too.
I mean, the weather's crazy.
I was watching Volusia last night.
It was 20 degrees.
No.
I mean, you're talking about cold.
I watched Volusia last night and it's 30 degrees.
You know, it's freezing.
The Kenny Wallace win?
He won his main.
Yeah, there's nine mains for those things the night.
He won one in his.
But yes, he did win last night.
What is that on?
It's not on Flo?
Well, listen, next week for Flo.
Next week's a big week for flow.
All the modified actions on New Smyrna's.
All of New Smyrna really is on the flow, right?
Every night, that's what, nine nights are racing over there.
That's going to be a bunch of fun.
And obviously, all year-long, flow.
If you didn't watch a chili bowl, you didn't get your money's worth out of flow this year.
Tulsa Shootout. Insane.
But, yeah.
And we can get you 15% off with FlowSports.
Dot link slash door bumper clear.
You can watch the car store all season long.
I'm watching Tulsa Shootout.
Does Kyle Bush winning the B-Mane get you a B-B?
Jay, at least. Hell he's getting dry over here. Damn it.
I think that's fair. I think that's a fair move.
Did he win a B-main? Yeah, I think he won maybe his B-Main on his
one of the classes. The Tulsaute out there's just non-stop. I don't know what the hell's going on there.
Can we just like reset for Routy Nation? Like it's a new year, new, new attempt.
Every week. New crew chiefs.
They got new crew chief, yeah. From here. From here, yeah.
Yeah, this is for Miss Carson.
Uh-oh.
I was just wanting to know if you'd like to play a new game this year.
Reach over and smack Freddy in the fucking face every time he says for sure.
God damn, I heard that so much last year.
You should be able to have hell of fun with it this year.
And to your point.
And to your point.
I say that a lot.
I would love to have an excuse to slap Freddy in the face every couple of minutes.
For sure.
For sure.
I thought he said, Carson, I want to play a nude game.
And I was like, wait a minute.
We're back to these fucking ballsing.
No, we're not with that.
We're not with that.
It's almost like deja vu a year later.
Thank you, Freddie, Conson, and Tommy for DBC.
I'm ready for this year.
Get to the words.
Jesus, fucker.
This guy's playing the shit out of this thing.
Guess it'd be better for us.
T.J. sucks.
He never shows.
Probably hiding where the weak shit go.
Freddy's fat moves slow as hell, breathing hard like he fought a whale.
Tommy's temper.
Cross-eye.
Damn quit playing games
And in flames
I liked that
That was great
All right well
To leave an audio message 247
You can call our number
704-2
Wait sorry you tell me that's your phone number
704-802
9572
And we'll play the best ones each week on the show
So make them good
I can tell I'm going to have to get a different number
Oh we'll figure it out
What have you done funny?
We can just block all those numbers
Um, okay, shit show Hall of Fame.
I think I got one.
Jesus.
I'm excited to induct some more shit shows into the Hall of Fame this year.
Um, we've had a long off season to observe them as well.
So what have you guys?
Did you see this?
The Lightning McQueen and the...
I saw they wreck each other, right?
The Miata's wrecking each other at Daytona.
Oh, yeah.
So that's chick, what was it?
Chick Hicks.
Chick Hicks.
Tommy's never seen cars probably.
Oh, you probably ought to watch it a lot with the boys.
Honestly, they're probably.
Probably was a character based off him back then.
I know, but where is that?
Daytona.
Oh, did they race there?
Yeah.
They race it like the day before the Rolex.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Yeah.
They put on a good show at Martinsville.
They put on a, you should see him at Daytona.
It's like 17 wide at the star finish line every year.
Holy shit.
Oh.
Poor lightning in McQueen.
It's just minding his own business.
Minding his own business.
Okay, that could be one.
Shit show.
The fog.
Gooner.
Oh, what's this?
That's his new nickname, Gooner.
What, did he tweet something stupid?
Oh, it was a comment that somebody found from a long time ago?
Connor, we're here next week to defend himself.
Yeah.
Not next week after the 5-100.
Those son of them bitches, they play poker, right, almost every week.
And they door dashed, they use my credit card.
Right?
Yeah, another scam, right?
So I get the bills.
It's like over $1,000 in the last month of door dashing.
That's not hard to do, honestly.
Honestly.
Right?
So, me, Connor, and Luke go to lunch the other day, right?
The some bitch pays for himself.
He don't even pay for me and Luke.
I'm like, you tight ass.
He's got that cup money and he can't even buy you dinner lunch.
The only times I've ever, I took Luke and T.J.
To lunch for T.J.'s birthday.
And Luke forgot his wallet.
He always.
And it was T.J.'s birthday.
So guess who paid?
Yeah. He's good at that.
The one thing I do have to ask Connor about next week is the riding around at the Rolex for six hours under yellow.
Must have been the most miserable thing.
You could ever do this video.
Wait a fucking second.
They rode around under, they didn't park for six hours.
They stopped.
They have to keep going.
Yeah, under caution.
Connor was into the whole time, I think.
Well, he hasn't in there four hours.
And he got a penalty.
Yeah.
Why did I think?
He got a pit road penalty.
Yeah.
So he ended up losing the race for them.
I don't know why I figured even though it's like a 24 hour.
They needed a red flag, like, you know, like they could.
I mean, they red flag if there's like standing water or wreck or something.
But something like that.
They literally just cruised around for six hours.
120 laps.
Holy shit.
I would go insane, I think.
Most of the drivers were who were in there for three or four.
This video, if you've seen it, this was at the Freedom Factory.
And listen, somebody that race is there sent me a message to not kill the poor guy that's driving the truck because you can't see.
The way you come up on the racetrack, you can't see what's going on.
You kind of come up a hill.
So you're looking at the sky and then you kind of come down.
So you are solely relying on the guy that's there waving you out.
And that guy failed him.
I would say because this poor guy comes out of the pits.
If you've not seen this video, we'll add it to the shit show Hall of Fame Pallet.
That is a shit show.
But this poor guy comes out right in front of the whole view.
And he's digging too.
He's trying to get it.
He's trying to go through the gears.
Forget about the outside, letting the leaders go.
He shit his pants, like when he got to the bottom and looked in the mirror and was like, oh, no.
What year is this?
This is this?
Is that Chastain's brother?
I don't know.
No, this was.
Oh, in the one car?
No, at 31.
Is that Jesse racing?
Jesse Love?
Oh, you see that.
I took it off top.
No, I don't think that's...
Dean Thompson's...
Were you there spot?
Yeah, I wouldn't there.
I was the one that sent him out to game.
I'll tell you, that's a beautiful racetrack, man.
My dad raced there.
They got a figure-eight course.
I've never been.
I really want to go.
Put Tommy's phone number on the poll.
In case anybody didn't see it.
No, I don't...
This is going to happen every Sunday.
No, it's not against...
It's not again until next year.
Oh, you're saying they're going to call every Sunday.
Yeah, dumbass.
I won't. I'll tweet the real number next week.
It don't matter.
Now they got my number.
But they don't know what's your number.
They will after the show.
I know.
I know.
I just am trying to keep pissing them off.
iPhone is asking to call up for their name and why they are calling.
Oh, now we're trying to.
We're trying to get the FBI on.
Absolutely incredible.
Okay.
Oh, boy.
Remember you can vote on our shit show Hall of Fame poll on Twitter on Dirty Mo Media's Twitter.
And I'm excited to see what kind of shit shows start happening.
Actually, we have AskDBC.
Yeah.
And then you get to pick.
Who is going to win the Super Bowl?
Seahawks for the Patriots.
Patriots.
Seahawks.
Seahawks.
Seahawks are badass.
They are.
I don't care.
I hope everyone enjoys themselves.
What are you each looking forward to most this season?
Bob, I'll start with you.
Oh, man, that's a tough question.
I would say, what am I looking forward to the most?
I'm looking for a San Diego.
Yeah.
I just think that's going to be a cool event, new event.
Yeah.
And I think, you know, nobody's going to have an advantage because it's the first time there.
Yeah.
I'm looking forward to that one, too.
That'll be one that I get to make it to this year.
Oh, are you going to that one?
Yeah.
That's good.
Mainly because it's San Diego and I want to go have a good time.
But I guess I'll see you guys there too.
Yeah.
San Diego is going to be fun.
I'm just looking forward to getting back going.
It's just the point of year when I know Tommy's,
been working too much. This is the point of year
where I'm kind of vacationed out and I need
to get back on my... God, what a terrible
problem to have vacationed out.
That is just awful. I feel so bad for you.
I shouldn't even say that because the vacation ended in December
and the last month has been miserable
in my house. So we are...
I'm looking forward to getting back into our normal routine
and back on the road. You went away three times
in January. What do you mean? No, I didn't. I went
away one time in January. You went?
That was December. That was December.
You went to... I went to Doug's party,
which I'll never do that again. I'm going to
The Chili Bowl, right?
I didn't go to Chili Bowl this year.
Oh, you lied?
No.
No, I said I was going to go to the chili bowl, but then I had to go to Doug's bachelor party.
I am going away tomorrow or Thursday just for get one more out of the way.
But yeah.
But yeah, I didn't that?
I've been pretty low-key this month.
I'm going to Nashville for a couple days just to hang out.
What are you staying?
Again.
I'm staying at the hotel.
Must be trying to make, kind of get some fans in.
Don't worry.
I'm going to figure it out.
She's not staying anywhere.
He's going to be posting tonight.
He's staying on Broadway.
Tommy, you know what we should do?
We should call the hotel and schedule him like a 4 a.m. wake-up call or something.
Set the fire alarm off.
Yeah, but I'm just looking forward to getting back going.
Daytona is obviously one of my favorite place to go on the schedule.
So go down there and watch them racing and hang out a little bit.
Megan's 40th birthday one way down there.
You're not supposed to say how old she is.
Yeah, she's been promoting it.
Okay, cool.
Should be all right.
It'll be 40th.
Tommy.
Tommy feels really old because he knew Megan when she was born.
Tommy's looking forward to getting a new phone number.
That's exactly you took the words right out of my mouth.
God almighty.
Oh, gosh.
All right.
Well, let's go to DVC picks.
Speaking of that, let's go to DVC picks.
Yeah, see if Tommy can...
Maybe try to do a little better this year.
Yeah.
Also, can we talk about the fact that why have you not taken us to dinner?
That's Freddie.
Well, we got screwed on dinner.
That's had nothing to do with me.
Yeah, canceled our reservation.
And then decided they don't take reservations over eight people anymore.
I don't understand.
that so then it was just a scramble and then we were gone all the time and it would too much
but now we've now we've had we've had a better solution yeah and just don't finish on last
place next year because we this is we've got we've scrapped the dinner idea and then this is now
now it's like fantasy football punishment whoever finishes last is going to get tortured so
figure it out don't finish last okay um all right does it matter how do we do the order
so are we get is this going to count i mean i know like the this waste and the all-star race we've
kind of well this is for the dayton of 500 because we're not going to have a show before that
Oh, that's right. Yeah, that's true.
We were not planning on doing this show before the clash.
Yeah.
So, you guys can pick the class for bonus points.
This pick is for the 500.
So, all right.
Tommy, you get to go first since you finished last last year.
Great.
Thank you.
I am going to go with Riembling.
Ooh, coming out firing.
Who goes next?
I don't remember.
You, because I won out of us three and then the guess.
All right.
I will take
Ricky Stenhouse
I'm going to take
Bubba
Oh I'm going to ruin your pick
Fuck you
And like the pick
Then that person doesn't get to use them
Whoever you pick is eliminated
For the rest of the year for the guests
I'm going to go with Zane Smith
That was a very good pick
That was another one I was thinking
Bob thank you very much
Anything what else
I mean
You're hoping to get out of here
When do you got to go to Daytona?
I'll go to Dayton on Sunday.
So hopefully by then, the clash will have happened.
Thomas, what are you leaving?
You got to go after.
Rockingham test, and then we'll drive all night to get the New Smyrna
and race New Smyrna on Saturday.
I do have one piece of good news for you.
For me?
I didn't share your phone number.
That's been Evan calling you the whole time.
You don't have to get a new phone.
You weren't showing it.
You didn't tweet that?
No, that was photos.
God dang it.
I've been contemplating what I'm going to be doing.
He probably already texted, Beth.
These motherfuckers?
No, no.
Or excuse me, motherfuckers?
No.
I was like, I got to get a new guy.
I've had this number for 40 years.
Now I've got to get it.
That was good.
What a great way to start the year.
This morning.
I'm getting reaction calls.
I text these guys just weren't.
I'm like, hey, since we didn't do the challenge me, we got to come up with something for Tommy.
I said, we got to prank him.
And Evan wanted to post your phone number.
And I was like, have a.
we just tell him we posted his phone number.
Dude.
I told Megan, and as soon as I said,
because Megan does a really good job of cutting me off
before I can finish the story, believe it or not.
So I was like, so we were talking about we're going to post Tommy's phone.
No, you can't do that.
I'm like, all right, calm down.
We're not doing it.
I need to ask Megan how she successfully interrupts you every once in a while.
Take some notes.
Yeah, I need to learn that move.
Anyway, thank you guys for listening.
We're going to have a lot of fun this year again.
We're glad to be back.
Come see us in Daytona on Thursday.
Not Tommy and I, though.
3 o'clock.
Just come see me.
Bob will be anywhere.
And you can see Freddie at The Oyster Post, too.
Probably every night, honestly.
Tweet up next week.
I mean, I'm sure.
We're going to try.
Yeah, for sure.
Go to every one of Bob's feedups.
I try to hit as many as I can.
Sometimes they start too early for me.
But it's fun to get in there and meet some of the fans.
And a lot of times, it's a lot of the same people.
Yeah.
And if you engage with other Twitter followers on, you know, talk NASCAR,
you'll occasionally just see some.
somebody who you only know by their Twitter handle or something.
Or X handle.
X handle.
I'm sorry.
Ax handle.
All right.
Anyway, thank you guys for listening.
We will be back not next week, the week after Monday after the Daytona 500.
Like I said, Connor Zillich is going to schedule to come in.
We'll see.
Hopefully that works out better than this week.
And we'll see you guys then.
We're out.
Bye.
Peace out.
Peace.
