Door Bumper Clear - Hocevar Gave Heim the Finger, Then Heim Gave Him an L
Episode Date: July 27, 2026Another week, another Cup Series winner. That must mean Corey Heim is in studio today for an episode of Door Bumper Clear, where he earned his second victory in just fifteen starts – the first to do... so since AJ Foyt. Corey breaks down his win along with the clip that everyone is talking about – the middle finger from Carson Hocevar. What’s Corey’s reaction, and does it faze the man who walked away with the trophy? Freddie, Tommy and Karsyn also weigh in on if Cup races are too long, the Clash returning to Daytona, and the Crown Jewel debate. The following is a production of Dirty Bowie.
Is it the first time you've read the fucking sheet all year?
A bird's shit on my head.
That is what reaction theater is for.
Getting hammers and calling in.
Where did they speak?
Go.
I don't know.
Wax and Crescent.
It's going to be gripped up.
Absolutely.
These two idiots.
Bubba did not do shit, unfortunately.
Period.
Period.
Hey, what's up everybody?
Welcome back to Door Bumper Clear.
I'm Freddie Craft.
I'm Fred Kraft.

Back and forth.
Back and forth.
Tommy, what's up, man?
Some shit gone on.
Yeah.
Yeah, I just, yeah.
Yeah, no longer with Rick Ware racing.
What?
We decided Rick and I that our expectations were not aligned.
Not aligned anymore.
So, yeah, we decided without ruin on our friendship, which we have really good friendship.
it was decided to
go different ways.
What's next? You just, right now,
worry about the kids? Yeah, worry about the kids. Have a little
fun. Figure out what
the next options are, but
yeah, I'm going to take a little break.
Enjoy some stuff. Get our shit ready
for Loudoun, will you? Yeah, I am.
I'm going to get ready. I don't want a spot for no slow fucking modified.
No, no. Or at least doesn't break.
I mean, the last time we, last two years, I feel like we broke it there.
So figure that shit the fuck out. Yeah, we're good.
Carson, how are you?
Well, damn, I still have a job.
I have you
I'm just kidding
I have plenty of jobs
He's relying on DBC now by the way
Oh yeah
Yeah
No I got to be a race fan at the Hampton Heat this weekend
So all was good in the hood
Yeah
Oh yeah
And I learned the SRI water bottles rock for tequila
So if you ever need to inconspicuously
Have a cocktail at the racetrack
Hit him up
Two weeks in a row
We have somehow booked the race winner
You're welcome
Good work, Tom
Corey Hime, welcome to door bump up with her.
I can't see.
Well, actually, you know what?
I had a feeling he was going to fucking do this.
So I made sure that, I mean, he couldn't be the only fucking person.
I would say.
Yeah.
I love it.
So, packed up back, 2311 wins.
Congratulations.
Brickyard 400 winner.
Can you have you figured out how to put that in a word yet?
Yeah, man, that was really cool.
I mean, we're just talking about how much of a long day that was.
I didn't really get to do a whole lot of celebrating.
But pretty cool deal, as you, as you've experienced.
experienced and band to win two
my last three cup races that was
that's been a pretty cool stretch for me so trying to
keep that going.
Yeah, I mean, look at you.
You're like, yeah, I win two out of three.
I just, I mean, man, I mean,
dude, he doesn't, this is him.
I know, but he is never
too high, too low.
I mean, since AJ Foyt?
Yeah, I feel like I'm a pretty even-keeled guy,
but no, I mean, it's definitely like internally
it's a really cool feeling.
It's what you work your ass off for
since you're a little kid, you know.
So especially the brickyard, like a crown jewel event.
I remember, you know, watching that event growing up with my dad
and always thinking about how cool would be to kiss the bricks and everything like that.
So, yeah, really hasn't sunk in yet.
I'm still like kind of recovering from yesterday a little bit.
But, yeah, just a badass day for sure.
I don't know.
It was like a month ago probably.
I guess you guys ran into each other somewhere, Wilkesboro.
So you're talking about coming on the show.
So I said, we'll get you on there.
I said, what's your next cup race?
And he said, Indie.
And then he said something like a place is tough to pass or something like that.
And I said, my response was, it's tough to pass.
It sucks unless you're leading.
And the son of a bitch goes out, wins the race.
This is now the second week in a row that we've booked the winner before.
Oh, yeah.
Lugano did.
That was a good one last week.
I was watching that one.
That was funny.
But just talk about your day, honestly.
Like, obviously, it's indie.
We know we get when we're going there and you're not going to pass.
You know, you kind of just got to keep yourself in contention and hope things.
Which, by the way, Tommy brought this up in our group text last night.
We got to give a shout out to booty.
I mean, just great calls all day long, put you in position to capitalize.
But, I mean, just take us through your day.
Yeah, I mean, first of all, qualifying 7th, that was by far my best effort of the year,
as far as that goes.
Normally we're usually go out in the first five cars.
Yeah, I mean, we normally practice pretty well, have good speed,
and, you know, probably are capable of qualifying top 15 on a weekly basis.
But that qualifying metric being an open car, a part-time car, you know, we go out anywhere between
first and third on a weekly basis, all open the rubber and just,
fighting for our lives out there and qualifying. So that definitely starts it as an uphill battle.
But since Xfinity qualified right before Cup qualifying, they sort of picked up all that rubber
and helped us out and even the playing field a little bit. So really the only disadvantage I had
was just not being able to get a read on the track before. Like we picked up over a half second
from practice to qualifying and set the track, or I guess the next gen track record by like over a
half second as well. So if I had known that gun into qualifying, I probably could have committed
it a little bit harder. But yeah, regardless, qualified seventh. And then, yeah, we really caught that
break in stage one with the, I think it was when the five, the left rear was in that caution came out.
We were on pit road when that happened and we cycled out third and we were running sixth on track.
So gain three there and then just kind of picked them off on restarts and pit cycles from there.
And yeah, I really didn't do a whole lot of passing as we were talking about.
I mean, just kind of rode around wherever you put me. And then at the end of the race there,
second to last restart
Logano was lined up behind me on the inside
I was the leader
and then I thought he was going to shove me out all the way into one
but he tried to put me three wide
and we kind of tangled there
I had to check up and then Danny got around me
and I was like that was the race
that was it you know three laps later I think something like that
we got another caution like we'll see
it just really dependent on the push
but if you're on the outside there like you need a really good push
like you need to be just about clear
going into turn one to make something happen
and I don't know what
happened. Really, Denny didn't get a good launch that first restart, and he didn't get a
good launch the second one either. I don't know why him and Bell struggled to hook up there.
But us, me and Livano, like, we just kind of pulled away and had to throw a pretty big block
on the Boston. But I think we all knew this was for the race. You know, that was for the race win and
kind of got to do what you got to do. He didn't make any comments about it. So I don't think he's
mad. Has he talked to you yet? Oh, we just texted a little bit. He just said, happy for you guys.
Congratulations. He was lying.
Yeah, probably.
I think Lugano had no choice on the restart before, but to try to win the race.
Yeah.
And then he was lined up behind you.
It was like, all right, I kind of screwed him the last restart.
Yeah.
But if you're on the outside, you got no choice with the especially guy like, what are you going to do the top of threes?
That's what I was getting ready to say.
He was like, all right, it's time.
I might as well just try to get as many spots as I could because that's not for the win.
My only thing was with the first restart, like we didn't have much of an advantage.
I feel like if you're on the inside and you're pushing a guy, if you can push him clear or at least almost clear and then make it three wide, you got a good chance to get in the lead.
But Denny was out in front on the outside, and I'm sure he could see that.
So if you're trying to make it three wide, you're just going to kill both of our momentum.
And exactly what happened, Denny just shot around the top and got the lead.
So I was a little frustrated about that.
But at the same time, like, once again, it's just impossible to pass.
So you've got to try to make some maybe low or I guess higher risk moves to get the lead.
So I get it.
first time, well, not first time I heard the quarter-adgett stories, but first time
pulling out on that racetrack on Friday, I mean, what's it like getting out there in the cup car
and just taking it in, going down that long ass back straight away?
Yeah, I mean, I guess it doesn't get a lot of publicity, but I did get to do the wheel force
test there like a month ago.
So I got some laps.
It's not the most like productive laps in the world.
We do a lot of different stuff, not a lot of just normal laps with that wheel force car.
But just to get any laps in general, had the same experience at Chicago land and felt
just way more comfortable when.
I got to the racetrack.
But yeah, I mean, it's exactly like what I kind of expected,
very similar to the sim, as you could probably imagine.
You know, not an overly technical track by any means,
but like qualifying was a rush.
Like we were hauling the mail and qualifying.
I remember, I guess one of the few times where I've gotten out of the car
and I've been like, like hands are shaking a little bit.
Like, holy crap, that was insane.
It kind of reminds me of like snowball derby weekend,
like all that anticipation on Friday night.
like, you know, you're not going to miss the show at indie, like the derby by any means,
but, you know, just the energy that goes behind it, you know?
And, like, I nailed one and two really good in qualifying.
And then you have, like, so much time down the back stretch to think about, like,
how you're going to screw up three and four.
And I just kind of told myself, like, I just needed to go, like, 80% to get to this lap.
And sure enough, we ended up seven.
So that was a fun deal.
Like the Russian of qualifying, that kind of stuff I really enjoy.
A lot of talk this weekend about whether or not this is a crown jewel race.
obviously this trophy is sitting here you probably have a certain feeling about it but what do you think
as indie as a crown jewel yeah i uh i i guess i'm a little bit indifferent on it um i've always
thought of it as one like i feel like the four crown jewels are sort of embedded just from my
childhood memory you know the dayton 500 breakyard southern 500 and cook 600 i feel like that's just
like a good lineup. I guess like it's a struggle for me to like kick one out or bring one in.
Like some people were even talking about San Diego being some sort of crown jewel.
And I don't really agree with that. I think it's just not it doesn't fit the narrative too well.
But yeah, I don't know. It's just it's a childhood thing for me like growing up and going to
crown jewel races, watching crown jewel races is just have that energy behind it.
Even if it's kind of like a lackluster race like yesterday's race was, it just got a different
energy behind it. It's at historic facilities. And I think I think I'd like to keep him the same.
What do you think? Crown jewel? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I mean, I know Kyle, Kyle was talking about like,
it's not embedded in our roots back in racing in the fucking 50s and 60s. But to Corey's point,
the track is. He grew up with that place. You know what I mean? We were racing there before he was
born. So like, you know, it's a crowd jewel to him because it's got that nostalgia to him.
And it's Indianapolis. Like, we won last year. And listen, I would, if you ask me, I would rather win the
Bristol Night Race or I'd rather win a Martinsville clock.
But it's still a Crown Jewel event because of the historic nature of the racetrack.
You can't, I don't think you can take that away, right?
No.
No.
What defines Crown Jewel?
Do we know?
People talking heads.
It's just aside.
It's the feeling when you walk in to the place and you go through the tunnel or it's just
like the history of the facility.
I mean, it's just like each Crown Jewel track has a history of beginnings, right?
of startups and indie's no different.
I mean,
I mean,
they're out there picking bricks out of a,
out of the creek.
I mean,
it's, right?
I mean,
it's,
you know,
yeah.
So it's like,
it's,
it's a,
it's a big deal, man.
Yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
Before we move on to the rest of the weekend,
I just want to talk a little bit about 2311.
Obviously,
you're a guy the last couple of years
has probably been sought after by many teams.
You chose stick with 2311.
What about 2311 just seems like the right fit for you?
I think from the beginning,
I ran that one race in 2024 at Nashville.
That was my, it was supposed to be my Cup debut,
and then Eric Jones got hurt,
and I ran for him for two races with Legacy.
But, yeah, not, you know, between Legacy and 2311,
like, I just, I don't know, I had a really good feeling about 2311.
It was always just like a gut feeling that I walked in the building,
and I just, the energy was good, and I really enjoy the people there.
A lot of it is their analytics side, too.
I love working with those guys.
I'm an analytical race car driver.
I like to look into the stats and the probabilities and stuff like that.
But yeah, I don't know.
Every time I walked into the building, I was, you know, I knew those guys and had spent
time at the previous shop, so I had nothing to do with like the new building or anything
like that.
Like I'd met with Dave Rogers for the first time about being a backup driver at their old place
and kind of going through that big transformation.
But yeah, I really just, I liked everyone there.
They just treated me like family from the, from the, from the,
get-go and I just had a really good feeling about their future with MJ, of course, and Denny.
And so far it's worked out pretty well.
Yeah, I mean, and I say this all the time.
Like, I feel like our shop works together more than any other race team I've been a part of.
Like, you just see every, like, every crew chief has something to do with every car.
Yeah.
It's not just like, but not trust Charles on the 23, Billy on the 45.
Explain that a little bit.
I recently learned that like even down to, I didn't know that like their PR people and
their marketing people even like switch around to different cars for the weekend.
Explain what the crew chiefs do on a...
To be honest, you know, I don't even know how to compare...
Compare?
I was going to say...
I'm proper.
Yeah, yeah.
But like, like, Charles is over, like, all the analytics, I think.
And then Billy's over all of the setup, I think.
And then, like, Davin is the aerodynamics.
They all kind of have, like, their niche.
So everybody's kind of got one department where they control it.
And then obviously you have your own deal where you're doing the race car.
Booty's doing a fucking thousand different things.
I feel like that every time I see him downstairs.
He's got a lot of job.
He's doing everything.
but yeah everybody has their hands on every car I feel like
or at least you know not maybe not touching every car
but has something to do with what every car goes at the racetrack with
all the cars go to the track very similar I feel like
I mean obviously a little bit driver dependent but you know it's just the first
everywhere else I've been it was it was almost like a competition
and it's trust me like it's still a competition we don't want to get beat by our teammates
but you know I felt like other places it was like when I was a rouse it was the 16
to 6 the 17 everything was kind of like we're
almost competing against each other where this place, I mean, we saw, we were just talking about
the beforehand, everybody kind of got back late because every team went out to the bricks.
We did it last year. I assume we did it this year where all three teams, were all four teams this
year, went to the bricks, took a picture as one big company. And you don't see that. No,
course, like, does everybody do that? No, it's just our place. So, I mean, that's, it's,
it's one of the coolest things about working there. When they say, Foire together, I feel like they
mean it, you know. Yeah, it's very interesting to see, like, even engineers have their
specific roles. Like they do very specific things there. So it's definitely a different dynamic than
anywhere I've raced at or worked at or whatever, but it works. Like everyone just is really good at what
they do. They definitely bring in people that are specialized in specific things. And yeah,
it's pretty cool to see. What about the rest of your weekend? My weekend was great. I don't know.
I'd probably average an 80th place finish this week, I think. It felt like it anyway. Truck was not good
on Friday, finished, I don't know, 15th, 14th, maybe 13th.
I don't know.
I've got a big wreck at the end there.
Guys pounding into each other and creeping around.
Xfinity Dean was good.
Dean was Dean.
Just took what it gave him.
We got some stage points, finished about 20th.
So we probably netted out about a 15th place finish is what he does every week, essentially.
And then the cup race.
We just lap two, got in a fence, and it was just downhill from there.
In practice.
Yeah.
Man, not the race.
He was tracking pretty well and qualifying, kind of missed turn three.
Had too much time to think about it, probably like Corey said.
It's a real thing.
Like, especially when you just, especially when you nail two corners.
I know.
Yeah.
And I can almost tell above it, he'll probably be mad to me for saying this.
But like going into the week, we qualified second last year.
And going into the weekend, like, there was a lack of like on board cameras for, like, for him to go back and watch.
And he was like, I don't know how to replicate that.
You know what I'm like, I got to figure out what I do.
did to do that again.
But I can imagine, like, you nail one or two, and you're like, I just, I know I had two
good corners.
Yeah.
Go fuck this.
Well, let's talk about the last, you brought up good point, the last 25 laps of having
to nail what, you know, obviously you come over to Rita, you said you were really loose.
I was, yeah.
Really loose.
Yeah.
I don't think I turned the steering wheel for 20 laps.
To go, you asked, you asked Eddie how many laps to go.
And I think he said 13, and I bet you were like.
Dude, I was nervous.
So I was, oh, my God, 13.
But just staying mentally locked in,
locked in all those laps of what you had to do.
I mean, did you feel the 20 at all behind you,
like, and what you had to do to make sure?
Because he closed up every now and in a couple tens.
Yeah.
His average was like four tens.
But what were you doing just to keep him back enough
to not be able to attack?
Yeah, the number one thing is just nail the apex every time.
If you miss the corner by a foot or more, if you miss the apex by a foot or more,
I mean, they have enough air on their left front fender to create a big run and get that clean air.
I mean, he was definitely faster than me by it probably like two or three tenths a lap if we had rolls reversed.
But, you know, at Indy, the runs come so slow.
Like a lot of guys talk about that when you make a mistake, you know it.
You know, like, for example, if I were to go through turn four and miss the apex and get loose,
it's like he's not like there right away like you got time to like straighten it out like look
in your camera and then think about it and you got time to like block it's not like it all happens super
fast um so i i kind of knew you're only going 180 you're only going 108 100c 500 yeah yeah the run
unless you make a big mistake you really don't have pressure until three quarters of the way down
the straightaway so um i had a lot of time to sort of think about that and and figure out what was
best and i knew that if he ever got to the inside of me it was it was over you know if i was
in that second groove, it was over. So I think I made like one big mistake with like three to go and he
did get there and I had to kind of force him to almost get on my outside. I was almost thinking that
he was going to like fake top and shoot bottom or something because that's like you got to make these
like high risk moves at the end of the race. It's just so hard to pass. But I made sure that he could
not get to my inside there. So yeah, it was a grind. It was very loose. I don't think I turned left much
the last 20 laps. But man, it worked out. But it was. It was. It was dead.
definitely a mental ground. He come by us a couple of times and turn one and I'm like,
holy fuck. Like he is not, there's no, like, I'm just going to plug the bottom and
hope they can't get around me. I'm like, he's driving the shit. I was looked. I wish they
showed the steering trace, you know, on TV, what was going on because TV didn't do it
justice. Well, that's the problem is with these cars, like, you can be wrecking loose and the cars
are like just budget. He doesn't totally look like it. Yeah. I'll watch the last like three laps back
and Junior is talking about like, oh, you can see.
see how loose the 67 is off of two and I'm just like barely moving.
It's like gosh man, I remember when these things you're like 180 degrees wheel crank to the right,
you know, cup cars.
Oh yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Hey, everybody.
This is Dale Jr.
And for the latest DBC gear, go to shop.
Dot dirtymoedia.com.
We've added some new shirts.
There's one called win or lose.
We're drinking booze.
Everything seems to be about drinking here at Dirty Mo Media.
Go check it out now.
We have talked about Corey obviously won.
believe it or not.
And if you guys forgot Freddie won last year,
because he's brought it up 16 different times.
I did?
I brought it up twice.
Three times now.
I didn't bring it up, she did.
Okay.
Check.
Yeah.
Larson, I think he blew a tire.
Yeah.
I saw a cool video from Bozzi that showed him
leaving pit road after his pit stop
and the thing bouncing really hard down the backstretch.
And he's like, it probably damaged the tire right there.
And it was just a matter of time before it blew.
I don't know where you.
were in relation to the five when he spun out, it took forever to throw the yellow flag for some reason.
I don't know. And when I say forever, I'm literally talking. I mean, it felt like 20, 30 seconds.
But time we saw him spin on the big screen. Bubba was on the front stretcher. I forget where we were.
And I'm like, there's a wreck in two, three. I'm getting ready to say like, say fuel, like switches off, whatever.
and there's no yellow.
And I'm like,
and you said on TV, like you saw,
what did you see on TV?
Cars would like fly him by him.
And he had the window net down.
I'm like, what is going on?
Why these guys going?
So I didn't realize it didn't throw the caution.
You know, I was like, holy cow,
until you brought it up.
And I don't know.
Obviously you can't, like I can only see half the race track.
I'm assuming they go off the cameras at Indy
and maybe they just weren't looking at that particular camera.
I got the spotters still that NASCAR.
Yeah, I don't know.
Listen, I don't know what the hell happened, but it took way too long to throw that yellow.
Surely they have a spotter official.
Somebody over there.
Yeah.
Turn two.
Or turn four, whatever.
That's not good.
Yeah, it was too long.
Yeah, I don't, there was really, obviously.
Not really much to talk about.
But like, that's, people were bitching.
And I've seen Lux Polls are like 24.
It's like 24%.
Yeah.
But like, listen, that's what Indy is.
Yeah.
But I feel is the strategy yesterday.
That made it entertaining.
The cautions ruin the strategy.
Well, not for some.
But I'm saying at the end of the race, the caution came out with 42 to go.
There was some guys that could have took advantage of that and didn't.
Name one of them.
The 60 car.
What was he doing?
I thought they should have been leading the race.
I have no idea.
But there are some guys that, I mean, I felt the booty.
made the best decisions all day, right?
Yeah.
I mean, no matter what happened during the race,
you were in the top three after.
100%.
So Booty did the best.
The 22 did probably the second best.
The 20 did, they waited,
Adam waited all day for that decision.
I mean, they even talked about it before the race.
Well, was their decision?
To, I think he just did fuel only at that point.
I couldn't see down pit road,
and I didn't see the report on what the guys did.
But the 60 was, the 60 had everybody beat.
I mean, he could have came in.
I bet you he would have came out second or third.
I don't think he would have came out leading because he was seven.
I mean.
Yeah, but you guys only did.
You did right sides and one can.
It wasn't like, I don't think it was going to be enough.
But the 60 was in prime position to be come out.
Which he hit a home run.
He got, he was on pit road when the yellow came out.
He was behind us in like 25th.
and cycled to like fifth.
Was that just 78 caution?
Yeah, I think so.
But yeah, they, it was, it's just that, but that's what indie is.
Yeah, always.
And it's just strategy race.
Like that, we're not passing.
We can't pass.
We all know that going there.
And it's just like, hopefully you have the best strategy to put yourself in position.
And I thought it would have been interesting to see if there's anything different
that happened in that last stage.
But the yellow came out right when we could make it all, make it off fuel.
So it kind of erased any anything.
you can do differently.
But yeah, I mean, it's, right?
I mean, that's what it's always been there.
And but if the caution doesn't come out, the race is already set.
Yeah.
Right.
That reset.
Basically, once you start a third stage, it's, you know.
Right.
I mean, it was, you guys were already, it was set, right?
The race was, okay, I'm going to run 42 laps and that's going to be it.
But the caution came out.
Everyone had a decision to make.
Some guys, I don't know, man.
Just, like, tires didn't make a difference yesterday.
No, so somebody, somebody told me up there, they're like, I don't know,
Corey's only got two. I said, it don't matter.
It probably frees you up putting the two on a little bit.
Probably. I mean, the tires had like, it was weird.
They had like two laps of goody in them.
And as soon as they got hot, they would never recover.
And I don't remember if whoever had like a true refire where they were like completely gone, you know,
running like the slower lap time's on a run.
Then we got a caution.
I don't know if I ever refired on them, but maybe just those cooler attempts would have helped them.
But even in practice, like it was weird looking at the lap charles.
It was like two really fast laps
You could just bust them off
And then you would run the exact same lap time
Four tenth slower for the next 20 laps
Yeah, that's typical though
Yeah
I noticed that like guys would cycle behind us on a pit stop
And you'd have to defend really hard for like two laps
And then you're like okay, you neutralize them
You're gonna go backwards
One two, three, four
I was getting ready to say it was a great weekend
To be junior rudderschrist
Did you guys enjoy that at Langley?
We did, we did
That was pretty cool clip
I know I had just closed the trailer up
I come in and like I saw Trave and everyone
Huddled over by the
like this light pole and he's over there
watching his phone and crying
and like it was it was really cool
I was sad for them that they couldn't be there
because I know I know how you know
cool that would have been for all of them but
it was fun and then for Caden to follow it up
with the win that night it was
Quaple Brothers Day in America so
that was cool
and seeing Dale get all emotional
like I don't that's not something that
I thought he's having a heart attack for a little bit
he's breathing
it's not something we get to see often
I know you gotta think though I mean he's like
basically watched Carson and Caden
growing up racing.
So that was honestly probably just as similar
as Carson's dad being there
as Dale has just as much,
I think, emotionally invested in that for sure.
Yeah, a good deal for them.
Lane Riggs has been killing us all year in the trucks
and he continued this week.
He's in a different planet right now.
Both of those trucks,
the 38's really good too,
but the 34 is on a different level right now.
Corey, you think he deserves to be in the cup car soon?
Lane?
Yeah, I mean, I think his, what's this, his third full-time year now?
I mean, that's what I did.
I did three full-time years, and then I guess I'm doing my, like, bridge part-time year now.
But, you know, it's-
I mean, everybody you raced against, do you think, like, he is like...
Yeah, I think he, yeah, he's very talented, for sure.
It's just, it's a different ballgame for sure.
I haven't raced around him enough on, like, intermediates and stuff to know kind of where he's at,
but just watching from the outside in.
I mean, he's extremely talented.
I mean, I race against him in cars store and trucks, of course,
and always had just a ton of speed.
His first year in trucks, he definitely struggled a little bit
and kind of took a while to figure it out.
I remember he was going lapsed down on, like, intermediates,
and then one year later he's like winning intermediates, you know.
So he figured it out really quick.
It's, yeah, Cups a different ball game for sure,
but I think he's definitely one of the guys,
if I were a cup team, I would be looking at.
Let me ask you this.
You know, we talk about does he deserve it?
He obviously deserves it.
I think what's your advice to a guy, like somebody that's kind of had to wait and wait
and wait for your opportunity?
Like, what's your advice to a guy like Lane that's deserving of a ride, but maybe
there's not an avenue right now for him?
Like, what would you tell him stay in trucks, go somewhere and win?
What would you the advice be?
I think just don't jump the gun on anything.
Like, I throughout my career, I've had a couple opportunities to go elsewhere just to get
to that next level, but it wasn't like, it just didn't have a good feeling behind it.
I never felt amazing about the opportunity and the future of that opportunity.
So I just stuck it out in trucks, and I knew I was in the best truck,
and he's probably in one of if not the best truck right now.
If you're winning, like, I think you're always in the conversation to get a ride.
And if you're confident that you can win and what you're in,
even if it's a truck and not a Riley or a cup car,
I think you're always going to be in a conversation for the next level ride.
So I would wait.
How close do you think the trucks compared to the cup?
I know you don't have any much over.
You don't have any O'Reilly's experience, right?
I love a man.
He drove the shit out of some Sam Hunt cars.
Yeah, oh, yeah, that's right, yeah.
I probably raised 20, 25 races in O'Reilly.
Why don't I remember that?
Because you're old.
It wasn't the most memorable.
I had a couple good races.
But, yeah, I mean, the trucks are definitely more similar than the O'Reilly cars,
but they're all just totally different, honestly.
Just the main difference from the truck to the cup car getting technical is, like,
just you can't, you cannot yaw the cup car out.
I mean, you're driving it like as straight as possible.
You can't really countersteer and y'all have the truck or the cup car out rather.
The truck, I feel like I always just drove it off the right rear, like slung it into the corner, like did everything I could to like feel all the side force and all that nature.
But the cup car, it's like you're just driving it on a railroad track.
And if you break off that railroad track, then you're in trouble, you know.
The tire, the feel of the tire is a lot different.
Of course, you're going from a H pattern to a sequential shift.
There's a lot of differences.
If I were to develop in anything, I think a truck might be the better avenue right now.
But it's apples or oranges. It's not a big deal.
Yeah. Alex Bowman is retiring at the end of the 2027 season.
So kind of on the topic of Lane and everything, it's rumored that maybe Corey Day or Zillich might replace him.
What do you guys think about that, how that might go?
Yeah, I think that.
Yeah, Tommy agrees.
I think that this is best case scenario for Hendrick.
I think that Alex was honestly weighing the decision
maybe retired this year and maybe Hendrick said
can you please come back another year?
I think it just helps their timeline a lot
because somebody's up at the end of next year,
namely Connor.
And I think it could have got a little messy
where if Alex retires,
who do they put in there for a year?
I heard, you know, Corey obviously day.
Could they buy Zilich out possibly?
but I'm sure that was going to be fairly expensive.
Josh Barry's name came up recently as somebody that was looking for a ride that had been there before
if Alex did decide to retire.
But I think this just helps Hendrick out a lot where they can, Alex is back in there.
They know he's done for a year.
He gets to kind of do what he wants to do for one more year.
Hopefully it has a good season.
But I think that this was what Hendrick kind of needed to happen.
And they got it from Alex, luckily for him.
So he's got another year.
I think you do see Connor go in there at the end of.
next season.
But yeah, I mean, it's just, I think it's all,
I think it just works out well for everybody at this point.
It could have got a little, yeah.
Everything's going to be just fine.
It's almost like it was a bigger picture.
Jimmy Jay, he's going to run the 48 for the 2027 Daytona 500,
and that will officially be, his last NASCAR race.
It's got to be, it's got to be the lows 48, right?
I hope.
It's got to be the font.
Got to be the font.
Get Chad back on the box.
I hope it's low lows too, right?
Yeah, it's got to be low.
Like, we got to have low.
We've got to have the Lowe's sponsorship on the 48 car.
Yeah.
One more time.
It needs to be like the Bud 8 revival, like all out, all out.
Totally agree.
Yeah.
And Alex, who knows what number Alex is going to run?
We'll find that it'll be fun.
They haven't announced it yet.
No, no.
I think if you know Alex, he probably could figure it out.
But, yeah, it'll be fun for him too.
I mean, that's something that gets kind of gets lost, like Jimmy's last 500.
But it's also Alex's.
So the fact that he gets to run maybe one of his numbers.
He had a choice?
Well, that's what that. Yeah. Well, somebody had told me yesterday, like, what he's doing. And, like, they thought it was, oh, they're, oh, Alex, they're going to let you run your number or whatever. And it was like, no, they're actually letting Jimmy run his number. But Alex gets to pick one, too. But it's cool for Alex to have that opportunity as well. Yeah. And we are in a video game or we're going to be in a video game. Don't know who approved it. But we are going to be featured in the NASCAR 2026 video game.
Yeah. Yeah. We had a lot of fun recording that day. I still am excited to see how.
that turns out.
Yeah.
So if you,
technically,
like we're in the career mode,
I would assume.
And so if you do dumb shit
in your career mode,
we're going to call you out on it,
apparently.
Tommy,
Tommy got a little lively in here.
We're in reaction theater.
Essentially.
Yeah, yeah.
Essentially.
Yeah.
I'm also going to spot in the game.
So if you want to wreck,
you can choose me as your spotter.
I think there's going to be a couple of us this year.
So,
yeah,
it'll be fun.
But it's cool to just,
I mean,
as a kid growing up,
you know,
I don't play a lot of video games now,
but I remember those old games back, you know, 20 years ago,
it's fun to just know that you're now,
we're going to be part of something like that.
Spot on.
Spot on.
Did you want to go first on this one?
I think he's a whiny bit.
That's what I think.
Send it.
Why me?
All right.
Well, I'm excited to get into spot on, spot off,
and especially hear some more about this little rivalry
rivalry that we have heating up in the Cubs series.
number one.
It's not much of a rivalry.
Well, it's one side of it.
You have the upper hand at it, which is the best place to be.
Carson Hosevar predicted the future when he told Corey Heim, he was number one.
Spot on, spot off.
Cory?
Spot on.
And honor Carson, I've got my ring on my middle finger.
Hey, there you.
Just letting him know.
Did you send him a text with the, with your ring on the middle finger?
I think the best Twitter response would have been a quote to you, just flipping off the camera with this on my middle finger.
I don't think it would have got approved.
So the thing that I laugh at is like, there's no way you saw that.
I know.
I mean, no one, no one coming to pit road is focused on anything except for the commitment line and getting, we are all.
I'm like, there's no way he was just dead set on lights and like.
If you look closely, I am emitting smoke for my rear tires walking up getting a pit road.
I'm not looking over here at the middle.
Like, come on.
Steve said that on the broadcast too.
He was like, I'm sure he's probably focused on the commitment line making sure he doesn't miss
Road versus
Hosevar, but
it's, it's, I don't, I don't have a good enough read on him
to know that if he was actually mad.
Because what happened, he came out of,
he cycled behind Corey.
Corey did what he had to do to keep him behind him,
which is what you have to do in that race.
Like, we, we talk about it in our, in our meetings.
You can't let anybody pass you because that could be the difference
in anything.
You know, if Carson cycles ahead of Corey,
Corey Pitts, Carson could cycle way in front of him.
You know, like if he's got clean air, he's making lap time up while Corey is getting ready to pit.
Now, like, when the cycle's over, he's going to be that much further ahead.
So if you can keep him behind you, that's what you have to do.
And that's the thing is you lose just less than a lap by pitting.
It's like 80% of a lap you lose.
So if you let a guy go and he can get 30 car links in front of you, you're probably going to net out even.
But if you can keep behind you and pit, you're going to be 30 car links in front of them.
So you cycle out ahead of the guy.
just the timing of everything works out perfect where you just got to keep guys behind you and it's just part of it.
So I can't decide if he was actually mad or if he's just doing this for attention like we see him do a little bit here recently.
But yeah, I mean, you can't be mad because that's what, I mean, if you are mad, you're stupid because that's what he's doing what he had to do.
But yeah, I think the 77 was losing a lot of time getting on pit road.
I don't know if you guys noticed,
but he got his butt kicked every time getting to that yellow line.
And I guarantee you their studying that today.
I bet you he didn't do a very good job.
It's hard for us to see it from straight down that straightaway.
But then, like, I also noticed I felt like they were just running hard all day long
and spending more time on pit road because of it.
And they just continued to, as we all know, like, talk about Daytona coming up.
Like, we're all kind of saving fuel and trying to make the stops as sort as possible.
And I felt like every time we pitted, they just kind of him, the 7, 71, they kind of just kind of kept creeping down the pylon a little bit as the race went on.
But yeah, I mean, this was, I just love it because it's knowing your mindset, knowing how even kill you are, and knowing how kind of he's up and down, I feel like you're the perfect adversary for him because it's like, I don't give a shit.
Like where did he finish?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think if you were to flip anyone off coming to a commitment line would be probably the last place to do it.
If you wanted to see it.
Really, that was the only time he was alongside of you.
That's true.
So he didn't have a choice.
I did never see him again after that.
But, you know, you were running third through six most of the race.
How much were you saving compared to when you were leading?
Yeah, I mean, like Freddie said, we're all trying to make the stop shorter.
So when we all know we can't really pass, I mean, really the best opportunity to pass
was to catch someone sleeping while they were fuel saving because we're all trying to just kind of run part throttle in the draft on the straightaways.
We're not like sitting there running on 30% throttle.
It's just a little bit.
But, you know, if you were to catch someone sleeping while they were like just kind of riding around,
because we also were just getting a groove and we're all, you know, putting around saving fuel a little bit.
If you can get a really good run off the corner and just dive in there, like Larson did a really good job of this last year.
So he got all of his passes done while just shooting it in there, like being super aggressive,
grabbing a gear and clearing them.
But yeah, I mean, at some point you just got to realize like we're all single file.
We're all in dirty air.
and it's hard to pass.
And the only way you're going to pass is by making your next fuel stop shorter.
So we're just trying to help that out.
We had the benefit of catching a caution while we're on pit road in the first stage,
putting us sort of better in line.
Plus three, right?
Yeah, we were plus three, but it also like,
we had a full tank of fuel leaving pit road in third.
Those guys had less laps or more laps on their tank and there were less fuel,
you know, at the end of the day.
So that kind of gave us a little bit of an advantage and opened up our strategy.
a little bit.
And that definitely helped us be more aggressive or do what we wanted to do on pit road for
the rest of the day.
Yeah, I felt the guys who went the longest benefited all day.
Yeah.
You know, they caught two cautions, right?
They, two cautions.
And once those guys, you guys didn't really lose a lot of time when those guys bailed
to pit, you know, you actually gained time to the field.
So it wasn't like a, like normally you would be like, oh, shit, I'm two seconds, a lap slower.
But if those guys, like you said, got behind one of those guys that didn't pit yet,
they weren't going to be faster.
So, again, I think Booty did the best job all day, man.
You guys managed the race the best and won the race.
Yeah, that's what it takes there.
Joe Gibbs Racing sweeps the top seven in Cup qualifying.
Spot on.
Jesus.
It took me a second.
I mean, obviously we're poking fun here.
It should have been the top eight.
Honestly, the 71 should have been up there.
He kind of got, look like he almost busted his ass off of three and cost him some time.
But yeah, I mean, I don't like, this is just having fun.
But you look at last year, the best qualified was eighth and the other two were in the 20s.
Now the three of them were to the front row.
The other one should have been up there.
So, I mean, it is.
It's just fun to poke fun at these guys.
It's not really that fun.
It is with them.
They're having their own battles.
But how much, Tommy, like we look at the poll speed this year
was damn near a second faster than the poll last year was of 49-13.
It was a 48-20 this year.
Is there anything, if that was a thing,
if he took everything he had from Gibbs over there,
how much does it relate to what we got going on now?
You know what I mean?
It's a year later.
It really doesn't.
The whole field,
really got lucky because of the overcast.
Yeah.
Right?
I mean, you were actually in the best spot of going early because of the weather.
If it got hot, kept getting hotter, those guys...
Yeah, it was pretty stagnant, but I think it just evened everyone out a lot, which was good for us.
So when the track is cooler, the field is closer.
The grip level is up, so the handling doesn't come into play as much when the sun's out.
So that helped a lot of guys, right?
And you've seen a lot of guys when the green fell when it was sunny yesterday.
They fell back because handling came into effect.
It wasn't awful, but like going out late, like Bubba, we were tracking decent.
I think we were going to be top 10, 12, but he got a little wide into three, just a little too much arc.
And like going out that late, there's so many marbles just outside the lane.
I feel like we just kind of got in the marbles a little bit and just missed the corner and went from 12th to 30th, essentially.
And it's just like, I was almost like, the longer we go, there's more marbles.
And just easy.
It's such a fine line.
And if you miss it by, like you were saying, inches.
Like three was the mark in qualifying.
Too much time to think.
That's where I gave up all my time.
When you look at SMT, like I said, I had so much time to think about it down the backstretched.
I'm like, I'm just not going to mess this up.
And I was just a little lazy in turn three.
And guys, like, blew my doors off that were on the pole.
I mean, I think I beat everybody just about through turn one, which was super important.
But, yeah, turn three, I agree.
That was the thing.
And then Bubba come up to me after I ran my lap.
And I was like, I just put my foot on the floorboard to make my...
myself not use any break.
And I was assuming that he was going to do the same thing.
I dial up SMT, saw 100 pounds of brake pressure.
I texted him.
I said, bro, what are you doing?
He never responded.
Never responded.
No response.
He's like this fucking kid already.
Do you with him breaking my chops?
Because I had 100 pounds of brake pressure.
He walked all the way down through the road and asked me what I did.
I said, I never touched a break.
And then he goes and touched the break.
Yeah.
I don't think he had a choice in turn three.
I know.
Yeah.
He ever drove the corner.
He just, yeah.
The corners are different.
I mean, people don't realize it's, it's, it's more because of the grandstands and the wind.
Like, it's not like the way to, there's not a lot of win going into one versus three because, you know, it's open air.
So it's, the handling characteristics of, of all four corners are a little bit different.
It's weird.
It is.
Yeah.
All right.
Todd Gillen wins the $1 million in-season challenge with an average finish of 19.
Does he get to keep it?
Did we find out?
I don't know.
I heard a lot of rumors.
I think he's getting a little chunk of it.
But I think, first of all, it always goes to the team, right?
Any kind of awards like that always goes to the team.
And then it's in whether or not the contract what they get.
I heard he was not obligated to get anything from the team.
But I think the team gave it.
They better give my man some of that.
The team gave him some.
And I don't even know if that's true.
So really technically he's not a gillionaire because he's not really getting the whole million.
Is that?
The gilly millier.
what I said.
Gilly million.
Last night.
He's got a...
It's the same thing
with the All-Star race, right?
Yeah.
You get a million dollars.
You get a million dollars.
Who really gets the million dollars?
Same thing is like, you know, I don't know.
You won...
Did you win that?
No, you didn't win a dash for cash,
but you won something with the trucks, right?
Triple truck.
Yeah.
So I got a percent of that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, but it depends on what's in your contract.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I like it.
I was fun to watch.
Like, I really think, like,
coming down to him and Blaney,
that was fun.
Like...
Was that Blaney right behind him at the...
So he was still out there.
Todd finished, I think, 24th, and Blaney was 26.
Like, there was one car in between him at the end after he wrecking came back out.
When I watched your race back, I saw them crossing the line.
And they were, you know, saying, oh, Todd, you know, wins a million dollars.
And I saw the yellow car behind him.
I didn't know if those eccentric or...
Armandinger was right behind.
I'm honestly surprised, too, that it wasn't as tore...
Like, the 12 wasn't as tore up as I was thinking it was going to be from that hit.
What happened to him?
Did he...
So they had a restart.
They were, like, 87 wide, going down the backstretch.
So it's actually Tyler's fault.
Oh, really?
Not really.
But, like, I think Tyler did the old, like, got clear and took all Brad's airway off
and it just stopped Brad, like, got that big tight.
And they kind of swallowed Brad up because when they were swallowing them up, they just
started, like, kind of scattering.
And they were, like, three rows of three wide into three.
And it started to get narrowed out.
And then, like, 42 had barely just had his nose in there.
And could have easily come a break.
we know that John Hunter's not going to cut you a break.
So he got in the back of him,
turn him around.
But yeah,
but this is what this challenge is for, right?
I mean,
these Cinderella stories of Ty Dillon last year,
this,
like we're,
who gives a fuck who runs 24th in indie?
But I'm telling you,
at the end of that race,
every spotter woke up from their nap
and was like,
oh, holy shit.
I'm like,
Blaney's right there.
Like he's right behind him.
Now we're all watching that.
But,
you know,
so like,
this is what this is for.
It's storylines each week of,
of these little battles.
Like if you don't like this channel,
I don't know what you could have
against a challenge.
But yeah, it's been a lot of fun
and it's good for Todd.
Congratulations.
Yeah.
Yeah. Hopefully he does get a good chunk of it
because I think they're all going
on their off-week vacation
and I think they're expecting Todd
to put some of the bill maybe.
There we go.
Kyle Larson says, quote,
a lot of our cup races are too long
and three hours is too long,
end quote, spot on, spot off.
What's he want?
A sprint car race?
Probably.
Probably.
Probably.
Three hours is a long ass time.
Come on.
I saw someone on Twitter was talking about how,
it's like,
oh,
that's one way to make races shorter
after you're,
back to them off pants.
Oh, shit.
This is,
Tommy's going to get mad at me
and a lot of people will be.
Some of them are too long.
Like,
and it's,
and listen,
it may be not the race length.
It might not be the race length.
It's what we do in those.
If you would have told me
that Wilkesboro was under three hours,
I would have told you you're crazy
because I felt like we were there
a long time.
Fucking forever.
Oh, yeah.
It was under three hours.
It was like $2.50.
I thought it was like a four hours.
And we hurt ourselves.
But I think that, you know, like this, back in the day, the 500 mile races, the
600 mile race was a test of man and machine.
Can the, can, you know, can you make your car?
We, the guy, the drivers can run for days now.
The cars will run forever.
So that's no longer the case.
So I don't have an issue with, let's try to.
maybe run a couple 300-mile races and see it, which we have, you know, Loudoun and stuff like that.
But like, let's just see if we can make the races more action-packed and condense it.
Maybe we can get rid of the stages that you all hate if we have a shorter, you know,
and I'm not, we don't need to go to a two-hour race, but we need to be.
Just more calmness enough.
Yeah.
I feel like some of these races are three-and-a-half-hour averages.
I think that we, like, I think three hours is a nice number.
I don't think that's too long.
The 250, like, but.
It's just the way we run the races.
I feel like it starts to feel like it starts getting dragged out when we have all these
long caution breaks for stages.
Yesterday we had.
There was one caution yesterday that was like over 20 minutes long.
It was probably the one that it came out with like four to go on the stage.
So you're just burned by that because you got to run those four laps.
Then you got to open pit road, run two more laps, do the choose.
So it automatically becomes a 10 lap caution just for timing purposes.
But we can help ourselves with that, like trying to speed the process.
TV's got a big hand in that.
But I just feel like, I don't know, Corey, like you've watched a lot of these races.
Do you feel like they're too long?
I mean, obviously we have the, some of them don't ever need to change.
Daytona 500 is always the 600, Southern 500, all those races need to be that long.
But, I mean, do we need to run 500 miles or 400 miles every week?
Yeah, you know, honestly, I think when you look at the fans, I couldn't imagine having to sit in the stands for that race.
yesterday and same thing with Wilkesboro like that'd be pretty brutal. I said that at Wilkesboro too.
And I think if honestly this might be a hot take, but the thing that I think NASCAR needs
to focus on, just making it more enjoyable for the fans. Like just like if you're in a suite,
like it's great because you can go in the AC and like hang out, talk like it's not just loud
the whole time. But for like general admission, I think if you could just like do some like add
some bars to the track or like maybe just some something to just do during the race to just say,
it's like it's, you know, stage one just ended, watch the first stage. Let's go hit the bar
that's on the track or let's go check this out or that out. Like there's some like activation stuff.
Like I see the manufacturers, OEMs do a good job at like doing some different cool stuff.
Like Wilkesboro has that like the 47 reserve now. You can buy a weekend ticket to that. And then you
have, you're in the GA, but then you still have a place to go and get a drink, get a meal, sit down in the
AC, like see what's going on. But I agree with that like fan experience. Just if there's other stuff
to go do. I've said for a long time, we need.
like betting windows
like they have at a horse track
where you walk up place your bed
then you can go place a third
second stage bed or whatever the hell
it is like you know like that's what
you go to a horse track because you're just back and forth
to the window and you're open now you're
invested in this race just get people more
invested in well and that could probably
help like from a fan perspective like
you and I probably don't give a shit about horse racing
any other day of the year but like Kentucky Derby
or going to anything like that you
putting your money on something like that makes
you want to pay attention to it
So, like, the fans that were like, oh, I like that wild chips car because it's, you know, got
cheeses all over it or whatever.
Like, you pick that and then now you've got a whole new group of race fans.
Thomas, I'm assuming you think the races are just fine.
You want them longer, probably?
No.
He still wants to be able to get his stage two nap in.
No, I think, like you said, there's certain ones that need to be, but we need to do some trial
stuff.
There's a lot of trial stuff coming up, man.
There's a lot of cool things I think that NASCAR is thinking about.
the industry is thinking about that's coming down the pike that I'm excited about.
So we'll see.
You know, to the time time's point, yeah, the bars and stuff.
But we see a couple of them.
They're a couple of those places that I think Kansas had a really good bars underneath the grandstands, but no TVs.
Like Phoenix has a really good, a really good fan experience in that little infield area right there.
That is like what most tracks need.
It's a place you can cool off.
You can, like, yeah.
And big screens, you can see everything.
Like, that's ideal.
I think, like, a lot of places now where they took the grandstands down are now motorhome spots.
Well, to me, it should have been, some of it should have been for the fans for that setup, right?
So they can watch the race and have a beer, sit down, meet people, talk about things, go to the bedding window, right?
I mean, do some of those type of things.
But I'm not in a disagreement of certain.
and races need to be shortened, right?
But let's keep the big ones big.
I just think that we can help ourselves a lot by just condensing the product.
Like, however you want to do it, whether we cut the long-ass cautions out or whatever it is.
Just we want these guys to have to race from the drop of the green, race your ass off.
And I feel like there's a lot of places we go where it's like, okay, just settle in here.
I mean, yesterday we just settled in all day long.
But that's an outlier.
Like I don't think you should ever change the brick cut 400.
It's going to be a three, three and a half hour race.
Okay.
Yeah, but they could have, they could speed it up.
But they could, yeah, there's a couple of cautions that could have been trimmed out.
But like there's other places where I think you could benefit from, I mean, my favorite race of the year was always the Darlington O'Reilly race because it was 130 laps and it was nonstop action.
Like it's an hour and a half, two hours long.
And you don't leave there going, boy, I wish that was another hour long.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
It's just, I feel like,
darling, places like that where you can have a great race in two and a half, three hours,
you don't need a five,
we're going to go back to the Southern 500.
It's going to be almost a five hour race.
Like four, five, four and a half hour race.
You know, like that, it's a crown jewels.
We're not advocating to change that race,
but we don't need to do that on a regular basis.
All right.
Speaking of changes, the clash will return to Daytona,
and that should never change again.
Spot on, spot off.
Tommy?
I'm glad it's coming.
back. I see what day it's on.
It's Saturday. Saturday before the Super Bowl.
Yeah, so it's a whole week before that.
But our lives have changed since COVID.
So I don't know the schedule, right?
Are we going to continue there?
Are we going to go home?
We're going to come back?
Yeah, I was kind of hoping it was going to be Monday after the Super Bowl.
I think it's great that it's around the Super Bowl.
But I feel like Monday would have been more of the Speed Week feel.
Like, we go down Monday, we run that race.
You tech on Tuesday for the 5th.
500 we qualify Wednesday.
Then you have that that week long.
We used to be.
I mean, we used to be there 10 days or two weeks essentially.
Used to get there on Wednesday.
Yeah, before.
Yeah.
But like it's now it's going to be a little weird.
Like I was talking to somebody like they're going to, we're going to go one day show.
No qual.
The format I'm being interested to see is it.
I don't think it'll be poll winners only because I feel like they would have to tell us or any for qualifying purposes.
But like I hope it's just a short race.
No pit stops.
Whether or not everybody's there, maybe it's a couple short races to set a field and then one last short race.
But no pit stops.
Like, don't give us a chance to fuck around and save fuel.
Just make us go race, right?
I mean, I'm assuming you're going to be part of this next year.
You know, like when we go to these places now, it's just let's just go race.
Don't take the fuel strategy out of it.
Yeah, I mean, for the 500, it is what it is.
But the clash, I mean, how many laps did they used to run in that deal?
It used to be 25, right?
When it started?
Really?
No, it was like 80.
No.
Not when it first started, 80 miles.
It was short, though.
Wow.
But then it went to like 60 laps to get a pit stop because they wanted to involve everybody.
And that's when it became, we all just rode around waiting for the pit stop.
And then it was like, okay, we'll just ride around because we don't, nothing matters until the pit stop.
All right, get to the pit stop.
Now let's go race.
And it was, so I think we need to eliminate the pit stop.
Maybe you split the field at half and have, like, if you're going to run everybody,
I wish they weren't running everybody.
It should be, I think it should be poll winners and playoff drivers or whatever you want to call it.
But we'll see.
But, yeah, I just, hopefully it's short races, but I think it's great that it's back at Daytona.
Yeah.
Yeah, I would like to run zero laps part throttle.
That would be, that would be my, I mean, just for the clash.
Like, it's just fun and it's like exhibition.
We don't need to be riding around.
Yeah.
It's, I think, man, if you did a 25 lap race and we just dropped the rag and,
race our asses off for 25 laps.
As a fan, I would be really excited about that.
Yeah.
I mean, you do two of those and then take the top 10 or whatever,
if you're going to include everybody.
If you're going to, I would say split the field,
almost like you do the duels, run two, 25 lapers,
and then have another one at the end with everybody or whoever the top 10 of each race
or whatever it is.
Didn't they just only do guys that, like, and they didn't, like, anyone else was
tall winners and past clash winners.
Yeah.
So, oh, that's strange.
So not race winners?
Nope.
It was just a class.
whoever won the clash previous races.
I understand.
Yeah.
There was 18, 19.
Between 16 and 19 cars every race.
The clash was just poll winners and the All-Star was just race winners.
Yeah.
And then everything kind of, we wanted to include everybody.
So we changed some rules around.
So what's going to happen at the All-Star race then?
I don't know.
We talked about this on here last week a little bit.
I still hear.
I think Wilkesboro unfortunately makes the most sense.
I hate to see that points race go away.
But, I mean, it's going to be SMI track.
The idea of Loudon does not excite me at all.
Nashville, I could see it,
but I don't know that Prime would want to give up
that being the kickoff to their schedule.
So I don't know.
Why don't know what's...
Because it's not an SMI track.
Has to be an SMI track.
Yeah, I think so.
I was hoping that.
And I thought there was some rumblings.
and maybe they can figure out a time in the future
where they can trade off.
We'll give you the All-Star if you give us whatever.
But yeah, it's going to be an SMI track for now.
And I just, I hate to see that.
We'll explore a points race go away.
But it's almost to me like it's the best option.
It needs to be bummer gray.
I'm just going to be honest.
A million bucks, a million bucks in Bowman Gray.
It's like the just, I didn't go to any of the class races
the last couple years, notably because it was like 15 degrees.
but I think just looking at it on TV,
like the energy behind that place
and just like it just has such an all-star feel to it to me.
They need to figure that out.
It would be,
I really think they'd be electric.
And I mean,
I can't think anything better
than being a moment of gray
with a million dollars on the line.
I know.
The wins,
maybe four to 600 or something.
Yeah, and being three back of the guy
getting into three.
I would not envy NASCAR on that weekend.
I wouldn't want to be officiating that race.
There's no rules.
It would be a shit show,
but like it's the all story.
It should be.
It's supposed to be.
Yeah, exactly.
All right, DBC fans, it's time to react.
All right, it is time for reaction theater where fans call in and voice their opinions from this weekend's race.
Dalton, how did we do on calls this week?
We did pretty good.
It had a pretty popular winner with some rivalries going on, so we got plenty of calls about that.
I think I've seen the segment.
It's pretty funny.
Getting in on this one early.
Fuck, Corey, huh?
I can't wait for cars from the bus here.
Hey.
Okay.
Keep waiting?
Yeah.
Hasn't happened quite yet.
Yeah, we'll see.
We'll see it.
Show them the old rain at Haim time.
I mean, that's tough luck right there.
Yeah, let's just get a little moment of silence for those damn hosts of Usies today.
I know they're going to have a long day watching that pole go all the way to the back by stage two.
But we got that 67 car at plus 2,500.
Go ahead and throw the rent and I'll see y'all boys in Victory Lane about Haimtime.
Hell yeah.
That guy called back.
Well, if that didn't go exactly how I drew it up,
I told you to put the rent on it.
It's like the Ozmakers didn't know Father Hime was going to be on door bump up here this week.
Well, I appreciate all free money, Corey.
Thanks, him.
No problem.
Any time.
There was a fan at our Wilkesboro autograph session that was given Carson Quaple a hard time.
He's like, man, I bet on you every week.
You need to do better.
You're making me lose money.
So I was thinking about that guy this weekend.
I hope he probably took the week off.
Yeah, I just wanted to call in and congrats.
Send congrats to Kyle Larsonal and went on the brickyard
112 and shout out
Jeff Gleup and Pete Pestoni
shorter races
God 12
That's amazing
Oh god
Hey BBC I want you guys to guess my favorite driver
He has finishes this year that include
2 32nd
30th 30th
40th, 34th
23rd
26th 23rd
23rd 34th
and 39
Do you know who it is?
If you get Kyle fucking Larson, you'd be correct.
She sounds like Bubba.
Poor guy.
Dang.
A lot of angry Larson fans.
Tough year to be a Larson fan.
Poor Carson, I hated to see how much Hady got.
For T.J. fucking up and not tell him not to do a burnout on the bricks.
His radio was unplugged.
I wanted to ask something.
It wasn't unplugged.
It was coming to one to go.
They told him don't do that.
Oops.
They told T.J.
T.J. sucks, so he didn't relay the message.
People were acting like they came over the radio and like, like, what is it after like the championship,
like if you went a championship, normally the series director will like tell you like congrats or whatever.
So I thought it was going to be something like that. And like I was actually listening for it because I remembered on the cool down lap.
And I never heard anything. So I was like, I don't think they ever told Carson.
So they told his spotter.
They say it on the radio with like coming to the white.
Like they won't say it's funny. They won't say like, do not.
do a burnout on the bricks. But it's like
remember race winner, respect the
racetrack or something like that.
And
his face of TJ sucks.
I mean, the guy... Poor TJ.
I didn't know you weren't supposed to do that until about
five days ago, to be honest.
When he did it?
Before that.
I think Nick Payne actually told me on like Friday
something about it because we were running around the track.
And he said like, it's bad luck to step on the bricks.
And then you also can't do a burnout. I'm like, oh, I've never heard that
before.
Yeah. I told Bubba,
Like, I assumed he knew, but I was like, let me make sure.
And he was starting his burnout like down in four last year.
And I'm like, do not carry this all across the bricks.
He's like, why not?
And I'm like, because you know how he is.
I'm like, just don't fucking do it.
Please don't.
Corey, badass burnout, by the way, though.
That was.
Yeah.
Appreciate it.
I was an ancient builder's worst nightmare.
I know you're going to do it to the bricks.
Stop.
Go over the bricks and continue.
Yeah.
You know, I actually thought about that.
But the towers were so hot, it probably would have left a streak anyway.
So I was like, ah, you know, I was just trying to get as close as I could, you know, just for the, the picture of it all.
I get out of the car with the smoke and the bricks and everything.
So that was what I had in my head.
Yeah, got it worked out.
Yeah, yeah, sometimes you got you.
Making sure it was Graham ready.
Yep.
I think this last one's pretty fitting.
I'm out here playing NASCAR 25.
Can you please do me a favor and tell T.J. Majors to shut the fuck up.
I swear to God, I didn't know that call was coming.
Oh, man.
Don't worry.
This year you can switch
and listen to me or Josh Williams
and it'll be worse.
Don't have to listen to TJ.
All right.
To leave an audio message 24-7,
you can call our number at 704-802-9-572
and we'll play the best ones each week on the show.
All right, welcome to the shit show Hall of Fame.
Big thank you to Flo also for providing us
with footage to react to.
So from now on, if we do see any shit shows
throughout the weekend,
and they happen to be on a race broadcasted by Flo.
You guys get to watch them along with us,
which I think will really help
and make it fun. But as always, if you find a shit show out in the wild,
tag us or send it our way on social media so we can laugh with you.
There's only one shit show of the week, and we can't show the clip of it. But that one there,
holy shit. There was two big ones I saw this week. I'm glad that. So this guy barrel rolls down
a backstretch. Luckily, he's okay. I mean, tore them banners down. Yeah. It's never good when
you're above the billboards. Do you have a drive of a sprint car? Time time. Never. I've driven a micro sprint.
I flipped in two of my four races I did.
That was the end of that.
Thanks for asking.
Shit.
Thanks for asking.
Okay.
There's only one correct answer to the shit show of the week.
Did you see Noah carry that fucking granny across the stage on driver intros?
Gangster Granny?
Gangster Granny.
Something funny I picked up on.
I've only been a part of a couple of those driver meetings.
But it cracks me out, man.
We'll be sitting there.
You know, they'll announce the guests and we'll give a round of applause.
It's like, all right, we got so-and-so.
He's a war veteran.
and he served, you know, 20 years and he'll be like, yeah.
And it's like, oh, we got gangster grainy.
It cracks me up every time.
She turns like 100.
Like this week, I think, or something like that.
Telling you what?
Be a bad bitch and you'll live forever.
I saw Noah wheel her out, like, towards the stage in a wheelchair.
And then he picked her up and carried her across the stage when he walked out for driver
in trouble.
Dude, he's so unsurious.
Did you see his Instagram store this week where he's like, I'm done signing y'all sweaty
ass foreheads. Like, I won't do it
anymore. This was a big one. This guy
flipped forever.
I don't know what track. This is. Oh, poor Royal.
I mean, he goes the whole front straightaway
over the wall, down pit road.
That looks exactly like me in a midget.
It looks like every midget race I saw you race.
No. Look like that.
There was only two. Well, three. I went to one
in Chicago where I think you were above
the fence in Chad's car.
I didn't wreck in Chicago land.
Or at Chicago. We race the
I'm pretty sure the race I was at.
barrel rolling at some point.
Maybe I was wrong. I mean, that tracks.
Also, shout out to Flo. I know that Tommy complains
about this, and it sucks for fans not to be able to see what we're
watching on shit show, but from now on, if the clip is from
Flo and it was a race from the weekend that was on Flo, we are able to show it to
you guys. So we'll see some of these.
Huge shout out to them. Okay, this was Hampton Heat when...
The guy in third just shipped that guy into one.
Buy that back one more time.
Yeah.
He wants it.
Because I think
Butterbean was mad at the 9
But he goes in the corner here
And starts washing...
Yeah, he's already screwed up right there
I don't think he hit him now
I think he said an interview
His sway bar was broke
I was gonna say that looked really strange
Yeah
Yeah
That's what I took Butterbean out
That took Butterbean out
That was just that was...
Yeah
He just got free
That wasn't a normal
No
situation that was strange
That's a cool racetrack
That was Merry Christmas
Cade and Quappel right there
Did he get to lead right there
Yeah, front row.
Was Butterbean the best car or something?
I honestly...
88 was the best.
88 was really good.
One thing about Caden is like he kind of just lets the field
do their thing and then next thing you know you look up and you're like where the 88
come from.
And that's important at Langley too.
Yeah.
But I mean, Butterbean was really fast and so was Connor Hall and his blue car.
Yeah, where the hell is he had?
He had a right front go down, I think, early in the race.
So they were out.
So he won every race there.
I would assume he should have won this one.
I know.
Yeah.
Time to move on to AskDBC, where we ask the questions you have all been wanting to know.
I think with Bowman retiring coming up here soon and wondering who's going to go in that car,
there are any other silly season rumors or updates that you guys are in here?
I saw some, like I was kind of not surprised, but Gillen and Gregson sound like they're back at front row,
which kind of blocks the path for Riggs that I thought maybe he was going to have an opportunity over there.
Where do you think
Josh Barry is going to
What's he going to do?
That's what I'm wondering
Like I genuinely
I've not heard
There's really not much
I mean I hate to say this
Like everybody wants a lot of news
Everything's kind of in place
I think you know
I think Austin Hill's getting into 33
I think that
Riley's going to go to legacy
I think that
you know there's
The only ones I was colleague is maybe
And I think it kind of depends on
If they're Chevy or Dodge next year
Like I think if it's Chevy
Ty could be
if they're not Chevy, I think ties obviously out.
And then you're looking at like, I would assume maybe Justin Haley or LaJoy moves up and drives the other car.
Maybe that's an avenue for Riggs.
I don't know.
But like...
I think some more dominoes have to fall.
But there's not really anything left, you know?
Like the one thing that I track house is going to be interesting because obviously all their guys are good.
But they're all up next year.
and I mean they've got to step it up if they want to keep any or all of these guys
we already talked about Connor potentially leaving to go to Hendrick
like if SVG you know SVG is going to be a hot commodity because you know the guy's
going to win two or three races every year um you know so like they have I mean Tommy
they got to step it up right to keep these guys it's a lot of pressure man I mean it's it's
it's um you know they're not necessarily a top
Chevrolet team, right?
I mean, Hendrick is,
they tow the line with all that stuff.
So, and if the top team's struggling,
I mean, the other teams are going to struggle even worse.
Yeah, it'll funnel.
I mean, it just funnels down.
I mean, it's just, I think this body change has really
thrown a loop to the Chevy organization.
It's a tough balance.
Yeah.
But, yeah, it's, it's going to be interesting.
I think you're going to see a lot of movement in O'Reilly next year.
I think there's going to be a lot of guys moving around there.
Do you think like Josh Barry might would just step back down to O'Reilly for a season?
I think there's going to be some openings in this building.
So maybe he gets in one of those seats.
But yeah, I mean, it's going to be there's going to be guys.
I've heard guys coming back to the building that are other places now.
I think you're going to see Chandler Smith.
You hear a lot of rumors about Chandler going to RCR.
Carson Brown, we talked about, I saw him testing.
Seems like a quick jump for him.
That would be a little crazy, I think.
But yeah, I think, but that's where, if you're in the silly season, you want to see movement,
it's going to have to be in the lower series.
I think everything in the Cup series is kind of already spoken for.
There's not really much else to do.
Is priests back?
Priests back.
That's the only, priest is back, Bushers back.
Well, what about the charter situation?
They said they're going to run uncharteded.
No way.
I think that there's, you know, I think there's one charter out there that I could see potentially changing hands, but I don't think that he wants to move it right now.
And it's...
How much do you think that thing I'd go for right now?
I don't know.
You would, like, 100?
More than that.
More than that.
Oh, my goodness.
That is like an unfathomable amount of money.
Don't get me started.
How does...
Yeah.
What'd you do with your 100 million?
No, can we...
Do you want to say what your soldiers for?
No.
Like 10 million?
No.
Less?
I don't think so.
Less?
What really sucks is I had two of them.
Don't tell me you gave him a two for one.
No.
All right.
Buy one, get one.
I didn't realize you had two.
Yeah.
There's so much now.
Like, why doesn't Rick sell his?
Or, you know, like, if you're, you could just.
But he's a racer, right?
Yeah.
I mean, he will eventually when his fun meter runs out.
But he's a worker, man.
I mean, that guy grinds every single day to do this.
So that's what he enjoys, man.
He earned it.
He's the one that doesn't sleep at night to pay for everything.
And he earns Rick Ware has earned everything he has.
I mean, he's earned his golden ticket.
He has one of the golden tickets.
He earned it.
Yeah, and he struggled to get there.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
He had to figure out how to keep the doors open.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just got a late submission for AskDBC from the booth over there.
Evan would like to know if Heim time means like it's time for Heim or like Primetime TV Heim time.
Like it's like it's Corey Heim time.
I have no idea.
Who came up with that?
Evan, it doesn't even.
No, no.
Who came out with Heim time?
It actually did start as like prime time hym, I think.
And then it sort of morphed into just like the Heim time thing.
but I don't know who,
I don't know if there's like a specific pioneer of it by any means,
but you got the trademark for it?
I do actually.
Oh, good.
All right.
Yep,
I have a trademark.
Because I was getting ready to go do it.
It's obvious on hymline.com.
He's got royalties now.
When did you decide to do the Victory Lane celebration?
I think I did that for the first time in my first truck win in, uh, that was 22.
Maybe it might have done it an anarcho win before that, but I think it was my first truck win.
I was laughing.
I was actually.
in New York and I was in the barstole office and Corey was on one of their podcasts with Large
and Large is like, I think you need to take watch off and throw it into Grand Stands every week.
He is nuts, man.
Can you get sponsored by Rolex maybe?
Yeah.
I mean, that would be the way to do it.
Some kind of badass watch sponsorship.
You need a watch sponsorship.
Launching watches into the grandstands.
You'd be the crowd favorite for sure.
Imagine getting hit in the dome with one of them.
Where is this?
Look, he's on the computer right now.
Watch it.
Corey's PR guy
He's working deals right now
All right
It's time for DBC picks
And Tommy, did you win this week?
No
I didn't win shit
Who won?
Who picked Christopher Bell?
You?
Freddie.
Freddie.
Dang, three in a row, Freddie.
Fucking rolling.
I should have picked Corey.
Mm-hmm.
Should have.
Picked Bernie.
What are you racing again?
Yeah, when are you running again?
Oh, Daytona.
Daytona.
I ain't going to pick you a Daytona.
Well, I'm going to need you to pull through
for me on that one.
Yeah.
He's not to have been on the list, is he?
No.
That's the, is it the cutoff race this year again?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
That'll be, I'll be pushing my teammates.
Thanks, buddy.
Appreciate it.
No problem.
Yeah, notably the 23 probably.
I'm about to pull it.
I go first.
So, Corey, you could pick from anybody that's not grayed out in that purple column.
Where do we go?
And we can't pick the same guy.
Okay.
So, uh, Tommy's going to go first, I think.
This is for Iowa?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, boy.
Tommy, you go first?
Tommy goes first.
Lugano.
I mean, you guys are killing me here.
Buddy, did you come at the wrong time of year?
It's almost time to reset.
I'm going to go with Priest.
Lugano's a good one.
I like that.
I mean, do you see what I got to work with him?
You got some good ones.
Where?
Yeah, I mean.
The old 97's been good on the short tracks.
Honestly, I'm leaning in Sauras here.
Yeah.
Okay.
I will go with, I'm going to take.
Eric Jones.
Damn.
I'll tell you what Tommy.
I skipped over it earlier because we were kind of hustling through BS.
A couple guys I wanted to give a shout out to from the truck race Friday night.
Christopher for first of all, Mikey Christopher did a great job.
Look like he kind of took a like 10, 15 last in the beginning and find his footing and find
that top lane.
But when he found it, he started hauling ass.
And Gavin Boshel did a good job as well.
He kind of battled back from a lap down.
But the two of them really impressed me.
top, I think they both ended up with top tens.
I thought Mikey should have done a little better.
His shit didn't fire off.
Well, he said he got tired after the red flag.
Yeah.
But they did, they both, I mean, Mikey was in the top seven or eight all race.
And Gavin fought back from a lap down to get back in there.
So really good to see for them guys.
And a good run.
Like, fun to watch.
I mean, we've known Mikey since he's fucking three years old, I feel like.
Mikey should have won that Dodge deal.
I mean, he just.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, he was, look, he drove for me.
We won races.
I think his average finish was, uh,
second with driving this 7 NY and the kid can race man he's uh takes good care of his equipment
and um he's going to be good we did have to also we forgot earlier we got to congratulate
cori corey who i'm for what what do you do passing uh zilich and and cody wear in in owner's
points no way Jesus Christ that's tough poor zillage how many races of you girls that would have been
eight and they went where were we at like 22 22
Dang.
Well, same thing in the truck.
Yeah, I'm still on the hunt.
I think I'm like 17th now, but I was like, let me check.
Let me check.
I was like 13th after Wolksboro at one point.
It's right here.
Did you ever have any conversations with NASCAR about letting you in the playoffs if you made it?
Yeah, so back before the chase or sorry, before the playoffs, or during the playoffs, I should say,
they made the rule they had to run every race to qualify for,
points. But prior to that, I think
you didn't have to because you
were awarded by what your seed
was and whatever. So
I think
NASCAR, this
off season, if I'm getting this correct,
are basically going to go back to that
where
if you make it, you make it, you make it. You don't have to run
every race. If you're top 10 and truck points
at the end of the year, you make the playoffs
of the chase, whatever.
And I heard that they were,
they just kind of forgot to put that
verbiage in there. They just were like, oops, like we forgot to change the verbiage that you have to run
every race. I think if you're charter, that's a different story. But for O'Reilly and Truck,
that verb is not necessary. And they were willing to, it seemed like they were willing to make
an exception, you know, for me missing the races or whatever. And basically just give me a waiver
for like, maybe we could word it as lack of sponsorship or something like that. And then we just
use the same, as long as we use the same reason that I miss multiple races,
we could use that same excuse or whatever.
And we sort of mapped it out and like there wasn't a lot of openings and it'd be a really
big mix back between the five and the one.
And we kind of did the math and like how many points I would need to get per race.
And it was going to be like, I mean, I was going to have to win basically every race to do it.
Which I don't think is a big stretch to ask based on last year's truck season.
Yeah.
I was watching.
Yeah.
So it was going to be a tough battle to do it.
But I got a couple more this year.
and I would have definitely like to, I mean, it would have been a good storyline to be part-time and running for the championship.
And I don't think I would have been able to run every chase race anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered.
But it's still fun to kind of talk about it, I guess.
Yeah.
And just keep winning.
Just keep winning, yes.
I'll certainly try.
Yeah.
Are you going to be planning on running truck races next year with the cup full time, or what are you going to do?
I would like to.
I would, you know, talking to some guys that have run double duty on the road courses, they seem to see.
the thing it messes them up the most.
So I think road course-wise, I'd probably like to stay away.
I mean, I'd still probably do it, but it sounds like it's just a mental battle to do both
either O'Reilly and Cup or Trucking Cup on road course in the same weekend.
But, yeah, I'd be more than happy to run a handful, no doubt.
All righty.
Weekend winners.
Number one, Corey Heim?
Number one, Corey Heim?
Wait a minute.
I mean, I was going to give you the opportunity to shout out one winner this week.
No, I know.
We've got her all the way at the bottom of this list,
but I'm starting with this one.
My sister Kennedy,
she won her very first open race at Millbridge on Wednesday.
That's her first win?
I didn't realize it was her first win.
That's her first open win.
And Kennedy took quite a hiatus from like box docs to opens
because they were making it an age limit.
And she said, fuck y'all, I don't want to do that.
So she just quit.
And she came back and she's been working really, really hard at it.
And I know how much that meant to her and dad.
So that was cool.
You guys celebrating jumping around.
We did. We did. We did. Me and A.
Yep. Yep. It was cool because, like, all of us were there, too.
And that's the first one of the Millbridge races this year that we've all been there.
I haven't gotten to make it out yet.
I've seen you jumping around a lot this week.
Dude.
The video, the flow video.
I'm just saying winning is really fun.
Okay. Like, I'm sick of people dogging me for my celebrations.
I'm like, I'm sad. You've never been a part of anything that won and you don't know how to jump around and enjoy yourself.
Jeez.
Flow winners this weekend.
And Caden Quaple wins the Hampton Heat.
Patrick Emerling makes it three in a row on the Wheel and Mod Tour at Manadnock.
A busy week for high limit.
Corey Day won the Don Martin Cup at Lernerville on Wednesday night.
Aaron Ritzel wins Thursday at Ransomville and Tyler Courtney Friday at State Line.
They're having a baby.
Did you see that?
I saw that.
Uncle Freddie?
I had to hit him with my favorite.
So we were, Bubba told us that he was having.
the baby a couple years ago or last year.
We were at like the five-year anniversary thing.
And so Bubba tells us and we're all happy for him,
but we're at a, the whole team is there.
And I'm sitting next to Booty.
So he tells me in Booty.
And Bubba goes to the front of the room.
He's handing out the plaques for the five-year people that have been there for five years.
So as he's up there, Amanda walks in and sits down in Bubba's seat next to me in Booty.
Booty looks there and goes
Heard you all been fucking
And I was fucking crying
For 10 minutes
And so that I hit Tyler with that the other day
They sent us a text and I text
Or Meg text them
And it was a group text
And I said hey
Heard you all been going out of there
But when Booty said that shit I almost died
Like it was
If you know Booty that's just
It's blunt to the point
Never, never, never, never, never changes.
All right.

there's two races.
You won the first race.
He started in the back.
I guess it's an option.
You start last.
You get $1,000 for every car you pass.
And then it's $100,000 if you win the race.
Well, he drove, I don't know how many cars are there, but he drove to like 7th or 8th,
and he got $47,000 for that run.
So it's a good payday for him.

And he didn't win.
He didn't win, fucking guy.
I've never seen somebody so mad to go from last to fourth.
I mean, like the place is so tight.
he drove from I think he started like 20th or something like that
24 cars he drove up he finished fourth and was just irate
when he got out of the car how bad he ran I'm like man I thought that was fun to watch

Yeah, I got you.
Kenny Schrader won the school bus figure eight race at Toledo.
I saw the bus was all lettered up just like his federated cars.
It was awesome.
If Charlotte Motor Speedway does that bus racing again at the summer shootout next year,
I would like to consider this my personal request.
Did you go with Sam? Yeah, that's so much fun.
I consider this my personal race.
I forget where I was.
I was in a town.
He wore him out too.
Did he?
I think he started like second.
And he,
well, I don't know.
He started second,

200 Lappers
Yeah they did the same thing
with like, I think the Winchester 400 too, maybe.
It's like 300. Maybe not that one, but it's something like that.
Yeah, I don't like that. I don't like that.
Now, you complain in early, you want shorter races.
You can't get rid of the crown jewels.
Let me come. Yeah, come on.
Damn, I just got word. My sister took the last first class upgrade on our flight tomorrow.
That sucks.
I take back what I said about her winning.
I'm just kidding.

Oh, okay.
Anthony Fama

I think he were.
Richie,
my lab wins at Jennerstown in street stocks.
Todd Price wins pro stocks at Jenner's town.

So that's the guy's fault.
Oh, okay.

at Mahoning Valley.
Thunder Road winners.
Late models, Justin Prescott,
Flying Tigers, Luke Peters,
street stocks, Jackson Hunt,
Road Warriors, Cating Green.
Sean Williams is four in a row
at Rocket Raceway Park.
That's a cool race name.
track name. Kyle Goodbout wins late models at White Mountain, Ryan Benassi Jr. at Sea Conk,
and Bryce Bozell is the winner at New Paris. I have to apologize again because two guys sent me
probably 50 winners of different racetracks and I didn't copy and paste them for the second
week or like fans submitted. So yeah, a lot of it, the first one is flow, like the, all the first
names we read, which by the way, did you hit the link? I don't even know. And if you want to see any of
those people that we listed first, uh, win every weekend, flowsports.com link slash doorbumpercle
to sign up and get 15%.
of its flow, then it's some random ones, and then a lot of it is
just fan submissions where
I saw one lady's like, this started out fun, but now it's getting old,
you know, and I'm like, or it's like, it's too long.
I'm like, well, how the fuck am I supposed to decide
who to, who did the shout out?
Do you guys pick one or two?
Proof freedom at all?
Yeah, yeah, there's been a couple.
Like, have you gotten God before?
No, I was an asshole when I was sitting over there
and not doing the show.
What did you put? I slipped a couple in there.
Nice.
But, yeah.
I was going to get pretty creative with us.
I've caught a couple like mid-sentence too.
Like I'll be reading it.
I'm like, well, I'm not saying that.
Cut that out.
Yeah, maybe we get with flow and come up with.
We're going to try to develop this into something else where we're at least talk to one of these guys or somebody we pick and do a little bit more with it.
Do a race winner of the week with, you know, with flow.
Tommy, what do you got going on?
I mean, what are you going to the beach this week?
What the fuck?
Like retirement?
I'm going on the boat to, uh, from, uh, from Long Island to Rhode Island and my best friend's
getting married on Saturday in Long Island.
And then I'm coming back and getting the cars ready for...
What is Loudoun?
Shouldn't you have that on your schedule?
Aren't you spotting it?
Yeah.
I just show up.
Whatever the plane takes me, we get off and spot a race.
Loudon is the week of the 23rd.
August 23rd?
Yeah, so two races in between that, Iowa and Richmond.
Carson, what are you doing this weekend?
I am sponsoring...
Jesus.
I...
Rare breeds is sponsoring a race car at Bowman Gray.
So I will be there.
Luke's running Cordell maybe if they don't cancel it because of weather.
What's he dropped?
Is it super?
Super, yeah.
Is that for Lopez?
Is that their fall race situation that they do every year?
Yeah, I've run that a couple of times.
Yeah.
And then Jack's run in the Carolina Pro Series.
You got some, how many late model races are you running?
Are you got any more?
Are you running us again this year?
Yeah, I've got Hickory, which is.
Not next week.
Yeah, so I got Hickory in two weeks, and then I'm doing Martinsville.
I think that's my last one because I've done two.
Crown? Yeah, the Martinville Triple Crown.
Are you doing a throwback scheme for Hickory or no?
Oh, yeah.
Probably not now.
Well, two weeks out again.
It's going to be a throwback.
Is it Nelson's car?
Yeah, Nelson's car.
It's going to be throwback to the Wilkesboro.
Yeah, exactly.
Did you have fun at Wilkesboro?
I mean, you came through the field.
Yeah.
Oh, it was a tale of two races, man.
I ran the pro too and props to those guys.
But we were fast.
We got fenced lap one, knocked the housing out of it.
And it was just a miserable race.
We tried to come in and make an adjustment to fix it,
but we were sitting there running like 20 second next to Chase Elliott,
so we decided to pull in.
I asked Chase at intros.
I was like, you haven't fun yet?
He's like, I'm just not very good at this.
He was like, I just can't figure it out.
I felt for him.
But the stock race, yeah, we qualified like fifth,
basically down a cylinder.
We had a problem in qualifying.
And we had to fix it before the race,
so they put us to the back.
starting to sound like Freddie.
Yeah, no, talking too much.
So I had to start dead last, and, I mean, it was a lot of fun.
Yeah, I mean, we were just like coming through the field.
I was probably, I was just kind of riding around.
I mean, there's no real tire wear there by any means, as most people know,
but you're just trying out to get those things hot.
So you're just doing everything you can, be inside by side, not to overheat the tires.
And it was like, it's like a video game.
It was easy.
It's fun.
Yeah.
And Caden and nice cars were set up almost identical.
So to have us, you know, at the front and the end of the race, that was pretty cool.
I wish I got a other caution or something to race for it.
But that was a lot of fun.
So you got going on Cup Raiders you can run?
I've got four more Daytona, Charlotte, Darlington, Miami.
And then I've got a couple more truck races,
which I'm not sure where yet.
It sounds like there's some stuff going on
with guys back out of races and stuff
in the open car, open trucks.
So I think I'll have like two or three more in that.
So four more cup races,
a couple more truck races,
a couple more late motor races.
A little bit of story of your story.
Yeah, Taylor, 2026, just a big old mixed bag of stuff.
So it's probably been fun, though.
We appreciate you dropping by.
Congratulations again.
Super happy for you.
Super happy for booty.
Everybody at 2311, obviously.
Davis has probably got a busy day plan for you.
So we're going to let you get out of here.
But thanks for coming by, man.
Appreciate it.
Absolutely.
Thanks for having to guys.
Yeah.
Congratulations.
We will be back next week.
We got a really fun show plan for next week.
We're not, we typically don't do off week shows because there's no race to talk about.
So what the hell are you going to talk about?
So I just, I put a post up on Twitter and had the good idea.
The people started bitching at me about everything.
And I was like, you know what?
We should talk to some fans.
Did you hear that humble brag had a good idea?
Yeah.
Well, I did have a good idea.
We'll find out.
We'll find out a couple hours because we're going to do it here soon.
But we're going to talk to some fans.
We're going to get some fans on DBC.
Do some spot on, spot off with some fans.
We're going to do some reaction theater.
We're going to do some X DVC.
We get to break their chops.
We get to do whatever we want.
They're on our time.
So, yeah, it'll be fun to see what happens.
I don't know.
I don't know that any other podcast has really put some multiple fans on it one time.
So we're going to have some fun with that.
But yeah, we'll be back next week with that show.
And then we'll be back after Iowa with, I don't know.
If you got to be on a losing streak, let us know.
We'll get them booked on DBC.
We're on a roll right now.
Posey hasn't lost the race since he came on here.
Corey won.
Joey won.
Well, my pick is priest.
So if we could get priests to come on here, that would be great.
Bubba is DBC proof.
The sunbitch comes on here, never ride around 30 at the next week.
but
that's your fault,
yeah,
more than likely.
But no,
thank you guys for listening.
We'll be back next week.
Brow.
Peace.
