Door Bumper Clear - How Kyle Busch Inspired The Name Of This Fan's Daughter
Episode Date: August 3, 2026You know Door Bumper Clear doesn't follow the rules! So, what made you think they were going to take the week off? Freddie Kraft, Tommy Baldwin & Karsyn Elledge did something Door Bumper Clear has n...ever done ... we brought fans on the show. You'll get to meet Kevin from VA, Aaron from VA, and Frankie — the fan who wasn't going to let the birth of his daughter stop him from watching a NASCAR race. They put these three through the wringer to partake in a round of Spot On, Spot Off, covering topics including: NASCAR needs stages every race. The Cup Series schedule is too long. NASCAR will go to one 50-minute practice session with 2 sets of tires starting at New Hampshire Carson Hocevar should be more concerned with what his competitors think than what his fans think And it can't be an episode of Door Bumper Clear if we don't have Reaction Theatre! We went to the depths of the voicemail inbox and brought out some instant classics. Last but not least, we host an extended Ask DBC, where we ask the gang your questions with answers on bathroom breaks, spotter competitions, and bucket list guests. That's all for this week! We hope you enjoyed this unconventional show — don't forget to check out our merch at shop.dirtymomedia.com and enter our Makin Mo Merch starting on August 5th at https://bit.ly/mmmdbc Want more DBC? The following is a production of Dirty Bowie.
This is the first time you've read the fucking sheet all year.
A bird's shit on my head.
That is what reaction theater is for.
Getting hammers and calling in.
Where did they speak?
Go.
I don't know.
Wax and Crescent.
It's going to be gripped up.
Absolutely.
These two idiots.
Bubba did not do shit, unfortunately.
Period.
Period.
Hey, what's up everybody?
Welcome back to door bumper clear.
Carson, I am not spotting for a.
single person this weekend because we off.
Are you so excited?
I am excited to get on the road.
We're going to take a road trip with John.
I hope that she can stand being with you trapped in the car that long.
Megan is maybe the worst person to ever ride in the car with.
I'm going to text Meg every hundred miles and just be like, wellness check.
Tommy, you're going to Danny's wedding, right?
Go back home, New York.
I have a little fun.
Yep.
That's fun.
I wish I could go back.
I guess I could have gone this way, but I decided against it.
But yeah, we're just going to, what we're going to do today is.
is we came with this idea last week
when we're just bullshin about what we're
going to do for the off week because there's no race to talk about
and we came up with this idea to
do a little reaction theater, a little axed-dbc
from some general topics
and then we're going to talk to a couple fans here.
Three fans are going to have them jump on with us
and we're just going to shoot the shit with the people
that usually don't get a chance to get their faces out
and learn a little bit about them.
Anybody that we can like break.
Well we got one guy.
So we got Kevin from Virginia's coming on later.
everybody knows Kevin Virginia
NASCAR frankly on
Twitter
we got Aaron from Virginia
who always shares the show
huge fan of the show
but I tasked Dalton
was finding us somebody
that doesn't always agree with us
and I got my man Frankie Dodd
coming on
I've seen some comments
where he doesn't
he talks a little bit of shit
here and there
so we're going to have him
jump out here with us
but it's just going to be
a fun show for us today
and try something out
for the off week show
where we usually just take the week
off and go home
yeah man hopefully
everyone has tuned in
did you guys hear
that we get our own
making Mo Mer
contest this year.
We're going to let our fans design shit.
We are going to let our fans design shit.
Yes, we are.
Similar to what they did with Bless Your Heart last year,
they're going to start the contest going live on August 5th at 12 a.m.
So submissions need to be in by the 19th of August,
and then we will announce the winners and go live with five designs.
And I think the way you win is out of the five designs that sells the most.
That's your winner.
We're giving out cash.
on shop.30romedia.com.
So it's a t-shirt that they make.
They design it.
Our fans are going to submit designs.
I am terrified about it.
I hope that there's five.
I hope that there are five that are appropriate.
Who's going to make the t-shirt?
We will.
They make them on demand.
Yeah.
So if you buy one shirt, only that shirt gets made.
It's print on demand, yeah.
Okay.
So they don't make like a hundred of them.
It's direct to garment.
Okay.
This is pretty cool.
You guys are going to make one?
No, I can't color.
Can we enter?
I don't see anywhere in these rules that says you can.
I need $200.
Honestly.
And I would love y'all's autograph on a t-shirt.
So only five get picked.
We're going to narrow it down.
Then we start selling them.
And the winner, whoever sells the most wins Carson.
We're giving out cash.
Yeah, we're giving cold hard cash.
200 cash to the first place winner.
Second place is 100.
And third is 50.
And then each of those come with the design that you made signed by all of us.
if that is important to you. And you might need that money to bail yourself out of jail for whatever
indecent images you put on these t-shirts. But it'll be fun. Let's have some cool ones. Who picks the shirts?
We do? Yeah, we guys will go through. Oh, yeah. I like that. Well, we'll get them to like a group and
then you guys will pick the top five. Since we don't have any merch anyway, I would like some.
I mean, we have tons of merch at shop. We do.30media. I haven't seen. You just don't know how to
use the internet. That's why you don't know we don't have it. I'd like to have a shirt. We'll get
shit.
We'll find you something.
My hat is like completely...
Freeloader.
Yeah, but my hat is completely wore out.
I don't even...
It was laundry day.
You had to wear a car store hat.
That's how bad it is.
I deal with the mind behind reaction theaters
every week and these guys are
scaring me.
I don't know what's going to be on these shirts.
The contest goes live on August 5th
at 12 a.m.
You'll have 14 days to submit your design
and the submissions all need to be in
by August 19th at 1159 Eastern.
From there, we'll take about a week
to review them and we will announce the
winners and go live with five designs on August 26th at 11 a.m.
Products will be live for about two weeks, and from there we will pick our favorite,
see who sells the most, and hand out some cold hard cash.
Get your designs in and make them good.
Let's shake things up here a little bit.
All right.
Let's get into Spot on, Spot off.
Spot on.
Spot on.
Did you want to go first on this one?
I think he's a whiny bit.
That's what I think.
Send it.
Why me?
All right, it is time to get into spot-on, spot-off,
and we are doing something a little bit different this week.
We are doing a fan edition, so we're going to have some fans call in.
We'll go over some of these topics, and hear what everyone has to say.
Our first one I'm personally super excited about.
Just got to see this gentleman this weekend.
Kevin from Virginia, how are you this Monday morning?
I'm doing okay.
I'm doing okay after a fantastic weekend at Langley this weekend,
seeing you and others out there watching the...
you know,
you all get that win.
So that was pretty fantastic.
Kevin,
are you sure seeing Carson made your weekend more pleasurable?
That's usually not the case.
Jeez.
Well,
she's pretty cool.
I think she's very strong-willed and definitely a personality.
Strong-willed.
That's one way to put it.
Kevin,
I think you're probably the most famous NASCAR fan of all of them.
I hear you on every show.
I feel like here.
see you all the time. You talk to, we, you thankfully share our show every week. We appreciate that.
But talk about how'd you get in the NASCAR? I mean, where are you from, obviously from Virginia?
But like, how'd you get in NASCAR? It's kind of funny. When I first started watching it,
I was a big fan of Duke of Hadges and some of the episodes of Kell Yawbrough used to be on.
So that kind of sent me down the dark path years or years ago when I was a little kid.
And I didn't go to my first race until maybe 2011.
Co-worker gave me tickets.
I had to watch it on TV, so I never really attended a race, you know,
because a lot of times being a man of color,
it was always something kind of frowned upon.
But I went to my first race in Richmond,
and I think it was a nationwide series racing.
Lo and behold, one of the first drivers I met was Austin Dillon
and told me, you know, take it in, soak it in, kind of learn about it.
And I've been hooked ever since.
I never missed a race in Richmond and stuff for the COVID years.
And just love the family atmosphere, the technology, and just the people I've met over the years.
What I appreciate about you is I feel like every time I see you at a racetrack,
you have somebody with you that's at their first race almost.
I feel like it's almost every time.
What does that mean to you to be able to bring the sport to other people that don't normally get a chance to see it?
Well, I think a lot of times people come to the sport, they don't know a lot about it.
So when I do bring people, I try to educate them on how to interact with drivers,
some of the fan amenities there.
A lot of it is because people don't want to check the websites and check out ticket prices.
There's a lot of things you can do at the track and still get away with a minimum budget.
A lot of brand-friendly things there.
And I think it's a lot of camaraderie and just meeting people from all walks of life.
It doesn't matter your religion or politics or anything.
I think coming to the racetrack is an opportunity to kind of meet people from all over
and just trying to congregate and enjoy some competition.
Kevin, I know you've been listening to the show for a long time.
We're going to put you on the spot, spot on, spot off today.
Carson's going to throw something at you.
You've got to give us your best.
We were catching up on it this weekend.
He's like, is there any tips I need to know or anything?
I'm like, nope, just beat yourself.
That's exactly what we do on here every week.
So, all right, we'll get into the first topic.
Carson, Hosevar should be more concerned.
with what his competitors think than what his fans think.
Spot-on, spot-off?
Probably spot-on because I think you need some type of,
you don't have to be best friends,
but sooner or later you're going to need somebody to help you get a win
or even, you know, give somebody.
It's a give-and-take sport.
You might not like who you were racing against,
but you're going to have to earn that respect from your competition.
You never know what scenario you might need help.
and whether it's a push or maybe or maybe somebody needs to let you buy.
Yeah, Tommy, I think, I mean, Danny said at best, I think the last week he said,
you can't disrespect these guys on and off the racetrack.
You got to figure out a way to coexist at least.
And like we saw it, like we saw, nobody, nobody really lined up to push them.
Everybody was taking runs on them in Atlanta.
You know, do you think that like you got to figure out how to weigh that balance of the fans love this guy?
I hear it.
Trevor intro yesterday, they blew up when his name was announced.
Like, I think it's awesome that he connects to the fans that well.
But he's kind of doing it at the expense of his competitors.
And he is, but I think he's starting gradually to win them over a little bit.
As long as he stops running into everybody, he's going to be fine.
It's just, you know, he, again, at Indy, sat on a poll, right?
Fans loved him.
Didn't run into anybody.
There was a good chance going into three that one time.
It could have been a problem, but finished top 10, right?
Yeah.
So just like if he just learns to keep doing that and gain the respect.
Ross Chastain was no different, right?
Nobody really liked him.
Now they're pushing for him, right?
He's having a bad year.
Everyone's hating life because, man, Ross should be in the playoffs.
He deserves to be.
He's a playoff driver.
So it'll happen over time.
Kevin, how much fun is it to watch a guy like Carson?
You know what I mean?
We talk about whether or not he's pissing off the competitors.
We don't really, we don't care if he don't care.
But it's fun to see it's a refreshing to see this guy kind of just put it all out there for you, right?
And it's fun.
Just seeing all the people wind up with the merch hauler, a lot of the T-shirts and things.
He does bring something to the sport that is much needed.
It is kind of refreshing.
You know, a lot of times you see these guys give interviews and they're kind of bland.
But you just never know what you're going to get with them.
All right.
Next one.
Moving right along.
The Cup Series schedule is too long.
Spot on, spot off.
I think at times it can be spot on.
I think it can be too long because given the fact that you're fighting with the NFL
and other sports and things like that, I think maybe cut out a race.
Maybe.
I don't know if it's a points race.
I mean, you still got the clash and you still got the All-Star race,
which are highly debatable amongst race fans.
So I think maybe if you're trim.
here and there, maybe you can find a compromise for race fans and teams alike.
Kevin, you think we've talked out here about maybe not so much having less races,
but maybe having doubleheaders on a weekend or midweek races.
Would that be something you're interested in going to see like a Wednesday night race
or going to Richmond and watching a double header on a weekend?
For me, it will work for me because I'm not that far from the track.
But I can see maybe some other people that maybe have to work.
I have a good relationship with my job.
So if I have to come in later or maybe plan ahead, I'm okay.
But everybody's not fond of that.
But I think it could work.
I think it all depends on the track, too, and the location, the ease of getting in and that out.
And what time the race starts.
Tommy, I mean, we've talked about on here.
Just, it's just too long.
The duration.
Like, I don't mind 36 races.
I don't mind 50 races.
But just the fact that they span from February to.
It's 10 months.
With the longest sport.
Yeah.
There is.
I mean, that's not.
We're going to get killed for you guys don't fucking work anyway.
I don't mind doing 100 races.
I just don't want to do it over 10 months.
Yeah, exactly.
But Kevin, we thank you for joining us, man.
We appreciated when we had this idea.
You were the first name that came to my mind.
I said it, and Carson immediately loved it and said,
absolutely he's the first one we got to get on.
So we appreciate it, buddy.
We see you.
Where are you going next?
What race tracks next for you?
You know what that is, Richmond.
Richmond.
Oh, yeah.
I didn't know if you're going to slip one in
that but I guess it's probably
next Iowa right you got Iowa than Richmond right
well we appreciate you and we appreciate
what you do for the sport and all the people you bring out
to hang out with you and we will I'm sure
talk to or see you soon. All right thank you
thank you see you ma'am. Bye Kevin. Up next
we have another from Virginia fan we have Aaron from Virginia
with us Aaron how are you today? Good afternoon
happy you're doing Aaron where you're you from buddy? Obviously
Virginia but what part of Virginia? I assume you're
from Virginia maybe maybe you're just lying to us
I'm from near Testerville, Virginia.
Okay.
Okay.
How long have you been a fan on Ascar?
Pretty much since birth.
I watched old home videos.
My dad literally would put a book beside me in the crib and said,
son, this is you.
Yeah.
And his dad got him into racing.
and it's been spiraling downhill from my older brother to me
and now to my younger siblings.
Who's your favorite driver?
You got one?
Growing up, Mark Martin.
And then now I've gone to Ryan Blaine.
Okay.
Oh, so have you, how's your,
sounds this year been for you as a Ryan Blaney fan?
It's all right.
It's okay.
Same type of driving style.
Yeah.
That's what drove me to him was the same driving.
style as Mark. And yesterday I was kind of ticked off with John Hunter. I think a lot of people were.
I think Ryan was as well. Yeah. That was an expensive spin. Million dollars. Million dollars spend.
Yeah. All right, Aaron, I know, listen, I know you're another one. I see you every week sharing the
link. We appreciate you listening. So I know you listen a lot. We're going to put you on the spot, man.
You're going to jump into some spot on, spot off here. Get you with a couple questions. So you better
bring your A game. Yes, sir. All right. Topic one. NASCAR.
needs stages in every race.
Spot on, spot off.
Spot off.
What do you dislike about stages?
It ruins the strategy.
I mean, you got the
plans to stage cautions
and you automatically know
when you're coming down to pick.
That just ruins it for me
as a, I hate to say this word,
purist.
And it
it just ruins it
Because you know when this caution is going to come out.
And I just want to see when someone is dominating a race that they are dominating it and just taking everyone's lunch money.
Yeah, Tommy, that's how the races go, right?
We know that going in.
We have a strategy.
We all kind of pit within the same four or five laps of each other.
And, I mean, you go into the weekend, you already kind of know how are you going to run every race, right?
Yeah.
I mean, I think that the cup races, again, we're on this long race topic here
over the last couple weeks, right, of how long the races are, how long the schedule is.
It does give you a little break, right?
But you do know.
And I think it's the one series that really they need to take a look at maybe changing
up a little bit as the truck series.
Because it's, I mean.
There's like 20 lap stages.
Yeah.
It's just, man, you know, it just doesn't give the drivers enough or the team.
enough time to do anything.
Do you think maybe like a fair like
almost like introduction to it?
Could they do, could it be a world where like the trucks
and maybe O'Reilly get rid of stages
and they don't necessarily for the cup races or longer or like try it out?
Yeah.
Aaron, do you think that, I mean, obviously we've seen the stages,
the length of time we stay under yellow for the stages is astronomical.
It feels like these days, do you think if they were able to condense that
and have just a couple, three, four lap cautions
instead of 10, would that make the stages easier to swallow
or you just want to get rid of them all together?
And they were to condense the time
from when they threw the actual caution
for the end of the stage.
I would be, I'll be okay with that
because I saw someone put up on X the other day
that it was like 21 minutes
for the end of a stage to get back to go race.
It's tough because, you know, I would,
I mean, I wish we'd,
just, I think we need, I always say we need stages because I want to pay the points out.
Because I feel like if you're dominating a race and you lead half, if you lead every lap
but the last one and blow up in 2000, you got two points, you know, or whatever last place
points was where now, at least if you dominate a race, you're going to go home with 20 points,
which is essentially like a, what, 15th place finishish, something like that.
So at least now you get rewarded for being consistently fast.
with something, but I feel like Aaron's reward.
They used to reward.
I mean, with lead a lap.
You get a point, right?
To lead the most laps, you get five, right?
I think, like, you could keep stages and just not throw the yellow.
I mean, because then you still can award points, all that stuff that you're saying, but you don't have to.
I would love to do that at, like, speedways, for sure.
But we, like, we did, we did, at, where was it?
It was an indie road course, and it was maybe the worst road course rates we've ever had.
It's just, it's tough.
All right.
Next one, NASCAR will go to one 50-minute practice session
with two sets of tires starting at New Hampshire.
Aaron, you big practice guy?
You like practice?
I'm indifferent.
So I don't know if I'm spot on or spot off for it
because I'm, I play fantasy.
I play NASCAR Fantasy Live.
So I use the practice sessions to kind of set my fantasy lineup
for that weekend and that's what I use practice for is like I'll see who has the fastest five lap
average fastest 10 lap average fastest 15 lap average and I try to use that information based
off that to set up my fancy lineup for that week yeah I don't blame you um you know we we talked about
this on a show a couple weeks ago but it's you know I I don't care like practice I don't think
I'm worried that it just, without the proper adjustments, Tommy,
or opening the box up to the things we can change,
I don't know how much different it's going to make.
Yeah, I think that's coming next.
I think they're going to give us a couple more things to be able to adjust.
So we'll see how this goes.
Again, with this amount of practice and that other set of tires,
I still not in favor of going off the metric.
I still think it should now go off practice speeds,
you know, for qualifying order.
And it makes more sense now that we're all in the same group.
Yeah, and if it rains out points, you go by points, which is deserving.
I mean, again, I just don't like being penalized that week from the week before.
It's like you're already showing up guilty until you're proven innocent.
I mean, it's just, I don't know.
I just, I'm a big fan of you're going to the next track.
That's your good track.
You're going to go fast.
You're going to practice good.
You're going to qualify good.
You're going to race good.
Aaron, you going to go out to any races this year?
Have you been to any of this year, any?
I've been to the 600.
I'm planning on going to Richmond in a few weeks.
I'm a big grassroots guy, so I try to go as many late-model cars' core races as I can.
I'm planning on going to a big late-model race at Martinsville,
and I may go to Martinsville because it may have a championship.
being crowned at that point.
Well, that'd be fun.
Yeah.
Yeah, that is very true.
Man, we thank you for joining us.
I appreciate again.
We appreciate all the support you've given us over the last couple of years.
I see you literally every week sharing the show almost.
I don't know how the hell you listen to it so fast.
You share it before I even know it's out usually.
I honestly like you and Kevin are the reasons I know the shows have come out because
that's what's in my Twitter mentions.
I have a notification on Spotify when the podcast gets.
That's a real.
one right there.
Man, we appreciate you.
Thanks for jumping on here with us.
And hopefully we'll see you at the racetrack.
See you, man.
Thank you.
Yes, sir.
All right.
Moving right along.
Our next fan joining us is Frankie Dodd.
Frankie, how are you today?
Good.
How are you guys doing today?
So Frankie, we're good.
We're hanging in there.
Yeah, Frankie's one.
Listen, we had Kevin from Virginia.
We had Aaron from Virginia.
They love the show.
Frankie sometimes doesn't always agree with us.
And I've noticed that about him.
He'll come out every once in a while.
And so,
We got a keyboard warrior on.
All right.
All right.
I needed to have somebody to offset.
I knew Kevin and Aaron were going to be super nice.
Yeah.
I told,
listen,
Frankie,
take this up with Dalton.
I told Dalton,
find me an asshole.
And you're the first name that came up.
I don't know what.
All right.
I said T.
Oh,
you didn't say T.
T.J.
majors first.
Then,
Frankie,
you came up next.
You're a solid second asshole,
Frankie.
But you better hope the first asshole doesn't die.
Yeah.
My wife says that.
every day.
Frankie, where you from?
Pittsburgh, PA.
I'm coming there tomorrow.
Yeah, tomorrow.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
We're going to go.
What's going on here?
I don't know.
We're just going to take a road trip.
I'm going to go to a Pirates game on Wednesday.
Hang out.
Miss Paul Skeens by one day, damn it.
I was going to ask if he was pitching.
He's pitching Thursday.
But so how did you get in NASCAR?
How long have you been a fan for about 10 years now?
Well, I was a little fan when I was little.
You know, my first race was the race Dill Senior wrecked and passed away when I was young.
I remember on the big box, big screen TVs.
Oh, yeah.
And then so I got away from it, you know, I was playing sports and football and baseball.
And then I'm a huge stiller fan.
And then I just wasn't liking the way football, like the guys would get paid and they went traded.
And then I started seeing Cowell Bush win.
And I'm like, dude, you know what?
Like, I'm just like that guy.
Like, you know how Kyle Busch speaks how he feels?
I'm like, dude, that's me.
So I started being 100% Rowdy fan.
Yeah, you told me you had a Kyle Busch.
I see the locust oil.
You told me you had a good Kyle Busch story you were sending in.
I didn't get the chance to read it because Dalton Bogots, all that stuff.
He won't let us see anything.
But like, how did your, like, I know you said he related to Kyle,
but like, give me your best Kyle Bush story.
He's related to Kyle?
He relates to Kyle as-as.
Uh-oh.
Yeah, relates to him.
Well, so my wife, so I don't miss.
a race. I like every son, like my wife gets mad. Like, no matter what, if they're at birthday party,
I got it on. So, and so, you know, I got, so she's during the, we're in the hospital because she had,
what is it pre-camps? Like, what did it? So they had to go in the hospital early. So we're in there
and I'm like, man, we're going to have the baby during a race. And she's like, no, we're not. And
then, like, Doc says, yeah, like, we're having a baby. And so, uh, I set up the iPad. I was already ready.
You got the iPad of the phone.
So I got the iPad of the race set up.
I got, listen to Derek on the radio.
So during the race, like, I'm holding, I can't look because I'll pass out.
That's blood freak from you know.
So I'm holding her hand, like, push, babe while I'm watching the radio.
I'm yelling at Derek and Randall on the radio.
And then the next thing you know, the baby comes out fine.
And then I look over.
and then we have our first daughter,
and I'm like,
you got to let me name her after Cal Bush's daughter Lennox,
and she was like, yes.
And I was like, she's like, I got to spell the way I want to spell it,
but then I was just like, you know, thankful that.
She let me do that's how much Cal Bush has meant to.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
How did you end up, I'm just curious how she ended up spelling Linux?
You're getting me in trouble.
Okay, never mind.
Don't say.
We'll cut that.
We got Rogano in trouble.
a couple weeks ago, and now we're going to get Frank
control. We'll pretend like I didn't ask that. We'll cut that one.
No, no. My
reading and writing is not good.
It's what the hell? He spells what a day?
Do we know why Frank? I can barely remember their birthdays.
Do we know why Frankie pisses us off every now and then?
We piss him off sometimes. We just our take, so we're going to
sometimes he doesn't agree with us. So now we're going to give him an opportunity
right here right now. Yeah, let's see. We're going to go right in the,
spot-off. Yeah, let's ask him some questions. See how he likes it.
He's like, this is a Super Bowl. He's ready for the
Topic one, NASCAR needs stages in every race.
Spot on, spot off.
Spot off.
If we're going to shorten the races,
I don't want to see us lose laps.
I'd rather just take away stage cautions,
you know what I mean,
and just run it.
Unless we need a caution,
but I'm spot off.
Do you think that, I mean, back in the day,
you watch races for a while,
like we used to have stage cautions
where debris yellows back in the day.
but like do you feel like
we asked those one of the other fans earlier
do you feel like the length of the stage caution
is really the problem because I feel like they're
to take forever now right?
Yeah yeah I like if there's a good race going
I could watch it all day I'm like I don't ever want
at the end but when you keep clicking laps
and it's like like what are they doing
I get they got a timing and all that
like so can't we speed it up at all?
Yeah do you so I'm of the opinion
Me and Tommy, we were talking about this earlier.
I think you need to have stage cautions because, like, if you go out and dominate a race,
I still want, I'm sorry, stage points because you deserve to get points.
So I don't, I disagree with the fact that I still think we need stages, but there's stuff we can work on.
But like, you just want to get rid of them all together, you think?
Well, I'm okay with stages, but like, yeah, we can start with so many laps and commercials and all that.
Yeah, but I don't want, I mean, I'm okay at one stage, but I just hate one, like, you know,
you'll see a driver with a good run and then
they have a bad pit stop and it's over
with this new car unless you're
Toyota. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
some Toyotas.
Bubba keeps running in a wall.
Yeah, we'd fuck ours up all too often.
All right, next one.
Cup Series schedule is too long.
Spot on, spot off.
Spot off. I want more.
More?
Fuck off.
Yeah, Frankie, what's wrong with you, man?
Frank, I don't get no time off, bro.
Teach me out of spot.
I'll come in and...
You probably do better to me lately
How long do you want us a fucking race for?
No, I mean, I like it's where it is.
I'm fine with where it is.
It's just like off-season I am itching,
but I like how, you know, we have a couple months off.
And my wife will leave me if it's a moment.
How about this week?
Do you even know her name?
Yeah.
Do you know a name anymore?
Yeah, I know that.
Can you spell it?
Are you okay with us taking us this weekend off?
Is that okay with you?
Oh, I was upset.
Oh, man.
But yeah, I need a week off.
My daughter's birthday is actually next weekend.
So I'm like, man, this worked out.
Perfect.
Perfect.
You can celebrate now.
Would you be interested?
We were talking about this earlier.
Not so much shortening the amount of races, but just shortening the –
so if we would still have 38 races, 36-point races, but 38 weekends technically.
Would you be in favor of, like, midweek races?
or double headers on a weekend just to get to shorten it to schedule a little bit?
What I don't, what bothers me is when we start at like 3.34, your whole day's done.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I wish we'd start to go back to like one, two o'clock latest on the weekend.
But I would, yeah, I would love Saturday night race or Friday night or midweek.
I think that would be nice.
How much does that mean to you to start time?
Where do you, like, is it hard for you to find it at times?
Like, or keep track of what the hell time the race is starting?
No, because I'm a die hard.
but the problem is the kids bother me
because they want to go play.
I love this guy.
And then she's watching her shows
because she's off on Sunday
so she's bitching out me.
I'm like...
Sounds like you guys need some more TVs in the house.
Sounds like this NASCAR shit ain't working out too good for you, Frankie.
I got like five...
I take all the iPads and TVs.
They're all mad at me.
I want to see Frankie's Wi-Fi bill.
I want to know what he doesn't...
What was his gripe on us?
I don't remember.
There was just stuff he doesn't agree.
Like if we, like this, you know, I'd say that we need to, uh, stages.
He doesn't agree with stages.
So stuff like he did.
Nothing in particular.
It doesn't have to be an aggressive disagree.
What do you hate about Tommy, Frank?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Frank, let's do this, Frank.
Come on, Frank.
Actually, when I, when Cal Bush came on, I'm like, man, I like Tommy now.
Like, you know, at first, because I was used to the old crew, but when I saw, I'm going to forget
Carson, right?
That's me.
When you, when you filled in last year, you.
I was like, man, she got it.
Like, she, like, their voice, it all clicks with them.
But I was just like, man, I was used to you guys, you know, the old crew last, like,
the last couple years.
And then I'm like, this just changes.
You know, it just takes a while for the change to come in.
Yeah.
But Tommy's also an asshole.
So it's easy not like him.
I understand.
Yeah, yeah.
But I love when he brings up points about the car because, man, what, I have a question for Tommy
whenever we can get to.
Yeah, go for it.
When, why can't we get this car?
When you come up on a run, why can't we?
get the back, the ass and loose so you can make a run on it? Why is it like, as soon as a guy
gets to him, that's it. You ain't going to see a pass. Because why can't they fix that?
They are working on it. We don't really have the solution yet figured out. But the problem is
all the aerodynamics are underneath the car more than the older cars, like the Xfinity cars or
O'Reilly cars or the trucks. A lot of the air is above the car. So it's easily, it's easy, it's
easy to knock downforce off those other two divisions than the cup cars.
The cup cars are just planted in the ground because all the air is underneath the car
making the downforce.
So it's kind of hard for that arrow change to happen in the Cup series compared to the other
two series.
Dude, it's amazing.
You'll see a car hauling ass.
And then as soon as it comes up to another car, it's like, well, it's just like, wow,
like the change.
And that's what bothered me.
That's what, like, the Trinity, I love that.
series. I was like, man, I just wish we could
figure that out because I think the
racing would be so much better.
Yeah. Yep. One more.
We got one more spot on, spot off for you.
Carson Hosevar should be more concerned
with what his competitors think than what his fans
think.
Oh.
Now, if he was 30 years old,
I would be spot on, but I'm spot off
because he's a younger guy. He's trying to make
his way. And, hey,
I'm the Rowdy fan, so I like it.
You know, I even got that little cow
Bush in him, he don't care. He's going to race how he wants.
Is that your next fan? Are you moving to him, next driver? What is your, I mean,
oh, we're always going to be Kyle Bush fans, right? We understand that. Who's next?
Look, so the day when he, when he found out he wasn't racing, I told my wife, I was a man,
it's a Coke 600. I was so upset. I wasn't thinking, like, this was serious. And then when I
found that it was serious, and I was like, I was in the car, I was crying. And I'm like,
I'm still trying to figure out, like, how, how,
they get through a race because every weekend I'm looking for a spotter of like Derek
soon he comes on a radio and I'm like getting excited for the radio and then
like it was hard so I like chase sally because my son likes him but I
try to find the guys that mind me a cow on the radio stuff I'm leaning towards Ryan
Blaney but it's just so hard because you know you're used to 10 years watching the guy every
weekend it like I'm telling like it's been devastated like he don't know the guy I never met
the guy, never met, but it's like, I feel like, man, that, like, that's me.
Like, everything he embodies is like how, like, my family, like, I like, my sports with my
kids.
I'm in the, all that.
It's just, yeah, I wish I would have got a chance.
I never even came to a race yet, like.
We got to get you to one, yeah, we got to get you to one.
Yeah, get him hooked up with the other guy.
Yeah, Kevin, yeah, he got to get your, Kevin to Virginia, get bringing to a race.
If Dolan would have said, you got to come down for 10 minutes.
I would have drove down in my wife with you, with the wife.
we'll have to figure out to get you to a race.
So you're in Pittsburgh?
We'll figure that out sometime.
We'll get you to somewhere.
I don't know where is that.
What the hell's close?
I mean,
what's the best track to go to for your first race?
Not Pocono.
It's not that fair.
It was fun like camping and stuff like that.
But I mean, I always say first race,
if you're going to your first race, you got to go to Daytona 500 or Bristol
night races.
Usually what I kind of circle.
I would say Bristol night race.
Just for the, for the, you know,
the atmosphere.
That's not that far.
It's probably a five, six hour ride.
Yeah, from Pittsburgh.
You figure out when you want to go to, let me know.
We'll try to get you hooked up with something.
I appreciate.
Man, when Freddie was saying, like,
oh, we need a guy like Frank Gilles.
I come from a football background.
So it's like, you know,
still are fans.
We get, like, you're thinking like,
it's a different type of fans who come over NASCAR.
I'm like a hardcore Kyle Bushman.
And I like, you know,
you should have called Derek before you knew I was going to show with
the time.
He probably gave you some.
a lot of stuff because I used to get them hell
but sorry Derek
I love you, you're a great spotter
I didn't mean none of that
I just want you guys to do good.
Now you're back up shit
Frankie. No backing up man
you're either going to talk shit or you're not.
I don't put out I love Derek.
Frankie we
I know you've been listening for a while I've seen
comments for a long time. We really appreciate you
jumping on here man. We appreciate you listening. Thanks for
sharing the show and I hope you
enjoy jumping on here for a little bit and bullshin with us and take it easy on us.
I know we say dumb shit from time to time, but we're allowed to.
We got microphones.
Yeah, Frankie.
I appreciate it.
Yeah, I mean, I'll do it.
You should have seen me trying to get dressed in the morning.
I'm like, I don't even know the way or I got my hat.
All right, Frankie.
We appreciate everybody.
Have it going.
See, Frank.
Thanks, bud.
Man, that was fun.
That was fun.
That was really fun.
Frankie, Frankie, man.
I closed the show.
I had no idea what to expect and that exceeded expectations.
We need to, yeah, we need to get him to a race.
Yeah, I can't believe he's never been to a while, but we'll figure out.
I don't know if he's going to be allowed.
He might have a lot of free time to go.
Bless it.
Bless it.
No, man, that was a lot of fun.
Thank you to Kevin for jumping on.
Aaron for jumping on.
Thank you to Frankie.
That was fun to get to talk people that don't usually get a chance to jump on here with us.
They were all a little nervous, you know.
You can tell.
Yeah.
So Frankie started back pedal a little bit on some of the shitty talk.
Yeah, yeah.
They usually do that, those key.
Keyboard Warriors.
Tommy, you got to see a keyboard warrior in real life.
All right, DBC fans.
It's time to react.
All right.
It's time for reaction theater where fans can call in and voice their opinion.
So I think we pulled some old calls.
Yeah, we get some calls every week that I can't always fit into the show.
And they're not race specific.
So we're going to play a couple here.
Sweet.
Boy, we sure need Freddy back in there.
We know that son of a bitch can't fucking spot.
But he's pretty good at hosting a mediocre podcast.
Just mediocre?
Really love listening to you guys.
Y'all are awesome.
And Tommy, you're there too.
Medioka or I'm just there.
He said, we're awesome and you're here.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, Friday, I just want to let you know.
Just for men doesn't cover just hair.
It also covers your beard.
But at the same time, you're covering for Bubba Wallace,
so I can understand.
You do your next race, you dumbass.
I'm going to tell you right now.
I met Bubba and Megan the same year.
I had no gray hair then.
That's all I'll tell you.
I don't know which one's giving me more
or they're just combined in it, but yeah,
it's definitely been all the time.
Some sort of coincidence for sure.
Also, this episode that's dropping
will be episode 421.
The one before this will be episode 420,
and this guy calls in with a fitting call.
I can confidently say,
but the BBC lineup
is my dream
blunt rotation
I will not elaborate further
Go to you know what
I have always
like when that trend was going around
and they're like dream blunt rotation
or like nightmare blunt rotation
like I'm honored
I'm honored that I'm in somebody's dream blunt rotation
I don't even know when
I had probably be in high school the last time I smoked weed
like it's like
it's been a long time
25, 30 years probably.
That's crazy.
I wouldn't even...
I'd be afraid to go near weed now.
Like, I just imagine it's just like progress into some ridiculous shit
where you don't even know your name after like two hits.
Hey, Freddy, we just had our baby shower this weekend.
Little do you know, my dad's name's name's Fred,
and he said he'd give me Ted Grean to name our child Frederick.
But little does he know it's after you.
Go 23.
We won't.
Tell him.
He made him 10 grand.
Yeah, congratulations.
Son of a bitch, don't call me short.
And I'm not funny.
I'm just ugly.
I love you guys.
Great show.
Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year and all that good stuff.
Damn it.
The racing's been good.
Let's do it.
Who called short?
Who do we call short?
I think so I recorded the voicemail message when you call.
And I'm like, hey, keep it short.
Keep it funny.
And he's like, don't call me short.
This one is actually a little different.
It's not very funny, but they wanted to call in and give you a message.
My husband and I have been big fans for a while,
but motorsports in general helped us save our marriage back in 2020.
We were in a bad spot and we had grown apart.
And just thank you for making our week so much better every week.
Carson, your beautiful Tommy, I had no idea how much I'd love listening to you every week.
Freddie has been a joy for years, and I'm a huge Bobo fan.
but thank you all for all you've done for me for my marriage and just for
most of our community.
Have a great week.
Bye,
I wish the show's helped my marriage.
It's got me in a lot of fucking trouble.
And this show's probably going to keep me from finding marriage.
So here we are.
I'm going to have to.
At least we're helping somebody.
Do you have her number?
We might have to do some counseling.
Have her called that.
Because this show has fucked my shit up sometimes.
I mean, shit.
God almighty.
Helping people win races, saving marriages.
What's next?
I mean, we're changing the world here.
Really are.
One day at a time.
One call at a time.
That's it.
Oh, gosh.
Should I actually read Tommy's number instead of the reaction theater number
so that guy can call, that lady can call back?
To leave an audio message 247, call our number 704, 802-9572.
And if you could DM Beth Baldwin on Instagram, that would be super helpful.
Tommy's not that bad.
Oh, my Lord.
Oh, that was funny as fun.
What's this kid did over here?
He goes,
he's got you seen him.
He goes and gets you right.
He's only been there.
He's the kid that got you ice earlier.
He's only been there for about three months.
He has?
Yeah.
He's taking notes on the show.
Kind of note.
Is he an intern?
He's an intern.
Is he getting anywhere?
He's leaving next week.
Where's he going?
It's a better place.
We fucking train all these people.
And that they go.
places. How come you guys are still here?
That's a great question.
Oh, God.
Oh, that's hilarious.
Who the fuck is that?
Dude, Tommy learns we have a new employee every day.
Oh, goodness. Well, if that's any indication to how the rest of this is going to go,
I think we move on into AskDBC.
A little bit different this week, rather than having one for the guests,
we've got a pretty big lineup of questions for Freddie, Tommy, and the group here.
All right.
Starting off with number one, Chase Franklin asked,
what's everyone's Mount Rushmore of tracks we should go to twice in one season?
And if you're unaware, that is four people on Mount Rushmore.
Atlanta.
Okay.
That's all I got.
That's all you got.
That's my number one.
No, I really got to think.
I got to think on some more.
I mean, for me, it's,
I mean, I want to say Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville,
but I want to get Darlington in there somewhere.
But I don't, maybe not.
I think it's just those four.
I mean, Atlanta's the most exciting race.
I want to go there twice, but it's not on my Mount Rushmore.
I don't think.
I think it's the classics.
Daytona, Talladega, Martinsville, Bristol for me.
Yeah, and I, yeah, I'm agreeing with you 100%.
I'm not even Bristol probably once now.
I don't.
What would you replace Bristol with?
I wouldn't.
I would just try to.
I'm saying, but like if we had to pick four tracks to go two twice.
Of any of them.
I don't say four?
Mount Rushmore is four.
Oh, shit.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
All right.
So I say,
I say Daytona, Atlanta,
Darlington and Talladega.
Darlington,
obviously,
it's one of the first tracks that they started at, right?
So Bristol?
So no short tracks.
No Martinsville.
I would say Atlanta, Wilkesboro, Martinsville, Talladega.
Short track package is not great.
If you tell me we're going to run like we do now,
I don't want to go to any of them twice because it's all struggles.
No, I mean, Martin'sville, I hope and pray will always be,
we always go twice.
But I think those four marquee places,
I mean, if you could switch Atlanta every other year with Martinsville,
okay, I'm good with that.
But Daytona, absolutely the top.
You don't have it.
Yeah.
certain or about just pulling to that place.
I mean, just if you're a race fan and you've done it your whole life,
I think that is like Mecca.
All right.
Next question from Andrew Harris.
Would race weekends be better without SMT?
Yeah.
I mean, I think so.
I think just why I can't hurt.
You know, I feel like we just talked about it, you know, a couple weeks ago with Joey.
You know, you make all the cars the same.
You give us more practice.
So the box is smaller.
now you've got everybody's data so the drivers can essentially be the same.
Like, for us to have good racing, we need to have some variations.
You know, you can't make everything the same and expect anybody to pass each other.
So I'm all for just taking it and throwing out the window.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's never going to happen.
Yeah, no, I agree.
I mean, it's gotten to the point that it's taken over, you know, to just working on the car.
Right?
I mean, we spend more time looking at data than we do.
working on the car nowadays.
So, yeah, I would, yeah, I don't like it.
All right.
Next one comes from Lugnut Life.
He asks, should the Cup series go back to five lug wheels?
Nah.
No.
I mean, like, I get it because you want it to look like the production car maybe, but
what difference does it make?
I mean, I like the, I like almost now that, you know, you have to be on it on
pit road. If you have a fraction of a second delay, you're losing five spots. You know,
you have to, you have to be on it. And, you know, we haven't, like, we've gotten to the point now
where you don't see the fucking wheels falling off like we did to start. Everybody's got pretty,
you see a random one every couple months. But yeah, it's, I have no problem with the single lug.
I think it's just become the norm now, right? It's just, um, I, I think, I, I think,
obviously we did it for parts and pieces
and we also did it to
for more speed on pit road
right it's just to look I mean
shit we're down to the low eights
now yeah right
just think when we first started this we were
tens 11s right
I mean look how much faster that the teams have
it's become
to a point though that it's
that's just what they do now a lot of these teams
they don't go back on Saturdays or
with the trucks and do the five lugs because it kind of messes their timing up.
Only certain select few teams still do all three series.
So that hurt, that has hurt the industry a little bit.
Has it hurt or has it helped?
Because now more people are getting opportunities to do truck and Xfinity.
You know, so you're getting, you've actually opened up more.
More opportunities.
You've got the upper echelon guys doing Cup and then you have now the doors open for more guys
to do truck and Xenity.
It has to a point, but I think it's taken longer for these people to get good.
you know because you don't have you're not following the guys that that are already good yeah right so it's like you're just throwing these people right into the fire right now and i will say there is a big split when you get to friday and saturday races of the haves and have nots like and i'm talking like you talk we talk about you lose a half a second on a cup race you're going to lose 10 spots the fucking gaps on like you're talking two three second differences yeah in pit stop times you know i think the really good or i think the really good o're doing what like 12 second stops and
then like the average like not even 20 like the 15th place guys are like 14 seconds times you know so
it's it's there's there and the has and have knots but it's it's what it is Tommy what is a day in
the life at the race shop look like well I mean every day is different it's it's again it's
everything's on schedule right we do we we we Mondays are pretty much the same every week
week is it's basically a car gets post posted you know you just go over to set up
up of what it came home and what the adjustments that you did. And then that car gets stripped.
Pretty much the body comes off nowadays on the cup car completely, except for the greenhouse.
All the suspension comes off. The transaction comes out. The engine comes out. All the driver,
you know, all the driver comfort stuff comes out. It gets serviced. And that just starts the next week.
Usually that stuff is saved for the week after two weeks. You know, like the driver stuff,
everything has a rotation.
And then the car gets cleaned and washed,
and then the body gets put back on.
Then the suspension gets put back on for the next race.
It's just, yeah, it's just every day is just the same thing.
You know, Mondays, that day, Tuesdays debrief day.
We get the engine delivered for two weeks, you know,
a race that's two weeks from now.
That goes into that car.
You know, we work on, we have seven,
cars in our inventory.
And one's always the backup car.
So that car will get changed.
Like, say, we'll race where we race before Daytona, New Hampshire.
Yes.
So then that car has to get completely taken apart and put a speedway package in it.
So there's a lot of work behind the scenes.
There's a group of guys that just work on the backup car, just preparing it, week in and week
out for the different types of races we go.
And now we have new rules with the bumper braces is a difference.
So now from short track to short track now, we have to, we have a change because certain short tracks you're allowed that and certain short tracks you're not.
So you got a group of guys working on that.
Then you got all the people in the back cleaning all the parts, servicing all the parts, changing the gears into transaxals, getting the steering all serviced.
I mean, it's just a nonstop cycle of events that happened to get that car loaded up on Thursday or Friday.
All right.
This next one comes from Matthew Hodge.
He asked the classic question that I think is where.
asking again, what do spotters do when they have to use the bathroom during the race?
Freddie?
Run.
You run.
I did.
I saw one of you for the very first time in my life.
I saw, I always wondered this too.
And I was sitting in the suite and I looked over and I saw one of them running down the stairs, running in the second floor really quick and running back out.
It was, I could almost guarantee it was one of two people.
If you say their name, I'll know it.
I'll be able to tell you which one it was.
One was TJ.
It wasn't TJ or Kevin Hamlin is usually.
It wasn't Kevin Hamlin either.
It looked like one of RCR.
guys, I think.
Derek, Neeland?
Could have been.
Because Brandon was next to me.
The answer is, yeah, you just try to get to the nearest bathroom under yellow as fast as you can.
I have never, in whatever I've been doing, 100 years of spotting, I never had to until Atlanta.
And it's all the damn water.
I was going to say, it's probably because you're dehydrated everywhere else you go.
And then you actually had to drink water this time.
So I've been drinking a shitload of water every day.
And Atlanta, finally, I was.
holding it, holding it.
And we had that caution at the end right before, like the green white check.
And I was like, I, the things are getting ready to ramp up here.
I don't want to piss my pants.
So, yeah, I've had to book it down there and go to the bathroom for the first time during a race.
But yeah, that's, I mean, just kind of the same as the drivers.
You try to, I mean, drivers are buckled in.
At least we can run through the bathroom.
But yeah, do you, do you guys, when you know it's going to, like when the bathroom is far away,
do you guys rely on your teammate spotters to,
can you guys can't switch anymore right you're not allowed right it's basically just hey dummy i'm running
off the roof don't hit nothing yeah you try to wait till you do let them know yeah you have to let them
know that you're not going to be there because there's always safety trucks or shit out there so you
you should bring your iPad down there with you and spot from the shitter yeah there's a little delay
you got a little delay it wouldn't work too good but sometimes freddie's delayed that's
what it's called anyway so now when i'm not not with all the water
He's way he's sharp for me
It's an interesting
Like Martin's
Sometimes when they're close
Some of these guys go to the bathroom
Like every caution
I'm like the hell's a problem
You're like TJ
Tj's bad about it
Kevin's another one
It runs down in the bathroom
Tj's old
He's got a little issues
He's got his shoes
Have you ever
I got to ask
Have you ever heard of anybody
Having a close to a code brown
So yeah
I mean it happens
It's happened
I actually
Spotter to 2 has a lot of those
Yeah he did
That's just at home
Normal
but the uh we were at homestead i don't know how many years ago it was Clayton Hughes I'm up there
my guy must have wrecked out early so I'm still just hanging out watching a little bit
and Clayton's like yo he just hands me his headset and I'm like what he's like I got to go to the
bathroom so that's not that's not a pee um and this is like under green I was like oh shit
so I'm like and he at the time he was doing BJ McCloud's uh Exfinity or nationwide cars
and there was like six of them I don't know he BJ had like the
the 99, 78, there's 100 of them.
And I'm like, all right, Clayton does the 99.
That's fine.
So I get up there, put his shit on real quick, take his radios off.
I put his radios on.
So I start spotting the 99.
And this guy is not listening to a fucking thing I say.
And I'm like, what is his problem?
I'm like, this, I mean, it's probably just because it's not Clayton, I guess.
So Joey Campbell was doing one of BJ's other cars.
I'm like, who the hell is driving this 99 car?
I'm like, he ain't listening to shit.
And Joey's like, you're doing the.
five.
And I'm like, what?
He's like, yeah, the driver's swap this week.
Clayton's doing the five this week.
I'm like, oh, and I look back to five is like by himself.
Like, I don't know who the fuck this guy's spotting for, but it ain't me.
And I'm not going near anybody.
As soon as I get off the button, the guy's like, where is Clayton?
I was like, man, I'm really sorry.
I thought you were driving to 99.
He's like, all right, I get it now.
But yeah, so it happens.
Like, you have an emergency and you got to get out of there.
And you just pray to God that somebody has fallen out of the race by then so they can,
they can jump on the headset and take over for a couple laps.
Damn.
It's hilarious.
Next one,
similar spotter question
coming from Pam Ravens.
How do you hold binoculars
and talk at the same time?
So we always have a,
we have a button
in our hand all the time.
So basically if you can imagine
like I have binoculars up
and my button's just in my hand up here
or over here
and I'm holding with binoculars one hand.
It's,
I mean, it sounds.
I get car sick using binoculars, man.
Really?
Yeah, I can't do it.
I try not to.
I usually don't use them.
I use them Daytona Taladega.
restarts a mile and a half sometimes.
And that's really it.
You know, I try not to use them because you, like we have binoculars that don't really zoom in a whole lot, but it's obviously zoomed.
But it has to have a wide field of view so that if something happens in front of us, we see them checking up.
So it's not, I mean, it helps a lot for sure.
Plate race is.
But yeah, we try to try to use them as little as possible.
Gotcha.
Next one comes from Allen.
If all the cup spotters were forced into a standard 20 car dirt late model race,
with no spotters in their ears, who wins the feature,
who triggers the big one on lap two,
and who gets disqualified for fighting in the pits?
Tommy.
I'm not a spotter.
Sometimes you are.
I would say probably Coleman and Tyler Green
would probably battle it out, right?
Who else is?
Fidoa.
Feetua.
He's washed up, though.
Now he's pretty old.
He's like 80.
He probably has to one running into.
Doesn't Derek Neal and?
Well, he tries.
Neil and, yeah, we don't.
Let's not use him as, let's not label him
as a driver, please.
He's got nice stuff up north.
It's capable of winning.
I love Derek.
Yeah, I think Herman, Mike Herman,
he can get in there and wheel it a little bit.
I would probably say Coleman would probably be,
Coleman and Tyler would be the guys I circled
that I can think of off the top of my head.
Hirschman, somehow, Hirschman.
Yeah, he lost that gene.
It skipped.
It skipped the generation.
His dad and his brother,
maybe two of the best modified drivers
in the history of racing.
He can't drive a rental car.
He backs into shit getting out of the parking lot.
So he would probably trigger the big one.
Yeah, he would be maybe we'd go at Herschman.
Triggering the big one.
But, yeah, or T.J.
TJ would like to think he's going to win the race, but we all know T.J. sucks.
So T.J. is going to be the one that wrecks everyone and then tells you it's your fault.
Yeah. Exactly, right.
Who are some bucket list guests you would like to get on the show?
Kyle Larson.
Carson, host of R. Anybody from Hendrick Motorsports for me nice.
This is our public announcement.
Hendrick Motorsports, please.
This is our public request.
Mr. Hendrick, if you are reading this.
Chad Knauss has already agreed to come on.
We got to.
Yeah, we got to get that.
We start that.
We'll get the roll roll.
I want Mike Hilton.
Yeah, that would be really cool.
Let me go to the list here.
Who's on my list?
Obviously, all the drivers.
Taylor Swift.
Michael Jordan would be good.
Yeah, I don't know.
There's just, there's been a bunch.
We got Marty Smith with somebody.
He's been before.
we're trying to get him back.
You should have told me.
I just saw him yesterday.
No, we've already talked.
We're working on it.
Excuse me.
They don't let me help invite anybody.
I try to offer all the time.
Hey, can I call this person?
He can ask this person?
That is not true.
They just tell me to fuck off every time.
That is not true.
Yeah, that's really it.
I don't know.
We're gaining on it.
We're gaining.
If you think about it,
we've had a lot of Hall of Famers on this year.
This year's guests have been amazing.
I mean, they have been always.
But if DBC was going to be made into a movie,
which actors would play you?
three.
Ooh.
I am an actor.
Everybody says I look like that comedian.
Actually, somebody tried to take my picture or take a picture with me.
Oh, yeah.
In Nashville.
Burt.
Burt.
Some guy was like, I was with Dugger.
Me, Meg went to dinner with Dugger and Tara and then a couple of their friends.
And this guy were sitting at the bar.
We were at Jeff Rubies.
And the guy was sitting at the bar.
We were at a table in the bar area.
And the guy just kept staring at me.
And I was like, this is awkward.
I'm like, do I know this guy?
like what's going on and um we got up to leave dinner and i saw him staring and i was like
i mean maybe he's just a baba fan or race fan whatever so um as i long as i say hey man you mind
grabbing a picture and i was like yeah yeah sure and i was waiting for him to say something he's like
man it would be funny if you took your shirt off and i was like the fuck are you talking about like what
like take my shirt off i'm like we're in a nice restaurant i'm like what is what's going on he's like yeah you know
man, like, you know, and I'm like, I don't, I don't know what's going.
I'm like, no, I'm not, I'm not going to take my shirt off.
Take a picture.
Took the picture.
And then I think it was Dugger's like, that dude, that guy thought you were Burt Cratcher.
He's like, because that guy takes his shirt off all the time, I guess.
And I was like, oh, that makes a little more sense because he never mentioned anything about racing.
Never mentioned anything about bubby's like, I love your stuff.
I love your shows.
I was like, thanks, awesome.
But you never talk about racing.
You're a very funny guy.
He's like, yeah, it's hysterical.
I was like, thanks, awesome.
And I was like, what the fuck?
Take my shirt off.
What's this guy talking about?
So I'm Kreischer.
We'd have to fight.
What's Clint Eastwood?
About 103 now.
He could probably play you.
I was thinking like Richie Cunningham
from the Happy Days.
You know what that is, do you?
No chance.
Yeah, no chance you know.
Who's going to play Carson?
Look at him shaking his shit.
He knows what I mean.
Maybe Sidney, if she dyed her hair brown.
There we go.
That's a blockbuster right there.
Hashtag Jugs.
All right, moving on.
Buy your merch.
Buy your merch.
It's a shop.
Dot dirtymole.
Shop.
Dot dirtymoin.
Shop.
Dot dirtymoin.
com.
All right.
Last one.
Where do you see the sport
going in 10 years time
and where do you think you all will be?
In 10 years,
I hope I'm married to somebody so fucking rich
and living somewhere far away from here.
Would you just let it come naturally?
That's your problem.
You go after all these people
and then two weeks after you're pissed off at them.
Who?
All right, boys.
Let's hit our first.
You got it some popcorn.
Do you really want to start this fucking argument right now?
Would you let it come naturally?
What were you saying, Tom?
What do you think I'm doing out here, just sitting here like begging for...
Let it come naturally, please.
I would...
What do you think I'm doing?
These assholes naturally come to me.
So I'm marrying for money, not love anymore.
No, well, that good luck.
Go for love.
That's all starts with love.
How's that going for y'all?
Try meeting.
I married with love.
Try meeting somebody at a coffee house.
a tea house or something
like a book, a library.
See how well it worked out for Megan?
She married me for looks
and now we got it turned out.
It's a good thing you're funny.
What's a comedian's name?
Good thing you're funny.
Good thing you and Bert.
Bird.
Oh boy.
Was that it?
Where do you see the sport in senior's time?
It's a question.
Sports in good shape.
Let's see.
I am 44 soon.
I'd like to think
I'm not going to be spotting by then, but I probably will be.
I'll probably be doing it as long as Bubba is, I assume, and maybe for a little while after,
I guess a lot of young kids coming up, the damn Salamitos are going to keep me racing forever.
I'll probably still be working for the car store, honestly.
I know I can't retire until I'm 69 is what I think my retirement plan says.
My only hope for...
73.
10 years from now for the sport is this car is no longer around.
We can usher that out at some point in the next 10.
It's not going away.
I know, unfortunate.
But yeah, I mean, I don't know.
The sport is what it is.
It's going to be great.
Always is great.
And hopefully we just continue to get better.
I think we're,
I think we're trending in the right direction now, I think.
We're going to be going internationally by then.
Oh, yeah.
Right?
We're going to be doing.
We're going to.
Mr. Worldwide.
We're going to be doing a lot more, I hope, one-offs, going to different places,
creating some different tracks.
A little shorter schedule
Maybe it would be nice
Man I'd just
I'd like to see some midweek events
What capable of doing Wednesday
Than going Sunday
I mean like oh yeah
How does you know baseball does it
Right I mean nobody watches
I was gonna say
Who doesn't watch it?
TV and attendance is hard
Yeah they bad
They were like when we did it during COVID
They were awful really
And actually I figured everybody's gonna watch
Because everybody's stuck at home
Man they just maybe didn't know
Maybe didn't know
Maybe didn't know
Well, it's true.
But yeah, I just, I don't know.
That's why I hope.
Shorten the schedule up a little bit.
I mean, I don't, we can still run 40 races.
I just don't want to do it over fucking 10 months.
What do you want to do that?
As I'm saying, we need to figure out ways to run, you know, multiple races in a weekend.
We can run doubleheader, you know, run at the same time.
I'm a big fan of doubleheaders.
Like, you know, we had those where with Pocono, we ran two races in a weekend.
And if you did that, I wonder, too, if you would almost like, they could.
could build the schedule to where you race less in the summer so that you're not dying of heat.
You know what I mean?
Like if you were packing double headers into weekends and stuff like that, you kind of could have more time to separate in the summer and have more off time, more family time and less sweating.
Yeah, for sure.
But yeah, I mean, there's, I mean, I think we're going the right direction.
I think we got some good people at the helm.
Yeah, we do.
Ben's, I mean, Ben, by then 10 years from now, I would say by the around the top, whenever the next contract is up TV contract up is up.
is I would assume was when Ben would be kind of step into the forefront
and probably getting in that CEO role or whatever.
He's quietly doing a really good job.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
And it's just, let's just keep going.
Let's just keep having fun.
That's all, man.
Like, just figure out, stop pitching about everything.
Hopefully by then social media just doesn't exist.
Honestly.
If social media didn't exist, would we?
No, probably not.
Not, but that's okay.
We're definitely still doing.
We will definitely still be doing DBC.
I will not.
I fucking guarantee you.
I will not be doing DBC in 10 years.
You'll only be 89 years old and 10 years.
We can get a shorter table, roll you in here, whatever we got to do.
Whatever we got to do.
DBC would happen.
It would just be at a table at big owls on the side.
Or we'd have to go to Tommy's nursing home, common area to visit them.
But to take the tube out of me.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
So I hope you guys enjoyed a little bit different episode this week.
We thank all of these fans for joining us on this show.
Something little different.
I really loved that.
Like it really stemmed from that one Twitter, that tweet that I sent out about practice.
People started bickering back and forth.
It said, man, we should just do this on the show.
So obviously, thanks to all them guys for joining us.
And it was fun.
It's a fun show to have.
And we put some out this week instead of sitting around and doing nothing.
We're going to be sitting around doing nothing.
But we didn't let the feed sit around and do nothing.
We're going to pump something out.
And we're...
How ironic that this show is 4-1.
What's the...
What's ironic?
4-21.
4-21.
So a day off.
You can't get fired on your day off.
That's 4-20, Tom.
You old fuck.
All right, let's get out.
We're going to Iowa this week.
So we will be hot.
It's going to be fucking hot.
Right in the middle of the corned people.
But it'll be fun.
Carson, I don't know if you can look this far in advance.
Is there a car store race the week after you sponsor Mark Davis?
Yes.
Hickory throwback.
Oh, is it the throwback week?
Spears Manufacturing is our title sponsor.
So it's the Spears Throwback Classic.
And we'll start ramping that up.
Is that like $30,000?
It was $30,000 and $50,000 last year.
It's five, no.
Yeah, four.
No.
It's our normal.
It's our normal person this year.
We took that big chunk and spread it across the Floodium program this year.
So you're still getting that money.
Don't worry, Tommy.
No, I'm not.
Well, you're not because you guys run like shit.
No.
We don't run that bad.
All right.
We will be back next week.
We are out.
Thanks for listening.
Bye.
Peace out.
