Door Bumper Clear - The Field Broke Tommy's No. 1 Rule For Daytona

Episode Date: August 31, 2026

The Door Bumper Clear crew is back to break down a wild weekend of NASCAR racing, from Ryan Preece punching his ticket to The Chase to the chaos that unfolded at the end of the race. Freddie, Tommy an...d Eric are joined by Regan Smith to dive into the latest superspeedway package and debate whether NASCAR needs shorter, more frequent stages to keep drivers from riding around saving fuel. The crew also breaks down why the first stage looked so much like old-school Daytona, what NASCAR can do to make the racing even better, and why the sport may be closer than ever to getting superspeedway racing right. The guys also celebrate Ryan Preece's incredible playoff-clinching win and discuss just how much the victory means after the sacrifices he made to keep his racing career alive. Plus, they debate the biggest surprises of the playoff cut line, including Brad Keselowski and Ross Chastain, and celebrate Ryan Sieg finally getting his first NOAP Series win after 424 starts. Then there's the chaos: the final-lap wreck, Denny Hamlin’s malfunctioning in-car camera, NASCAR leaving the race green through a major wreck, and whether drivers should really be expected to go wide open through incidents in the pack. And, of course, the guys have plenty to say about the announcement of Days of Thunder 2, Cole Pearn’s hilarious reaction to the news, and the future of the Truck Series. Want more DBC? Starting point is 00:00:00 The following is a production of Dirtymovie. This is the first time you've read the fucking sheet all year. A bird shit on my head. That is what reaction theater is for. Getting hammers and calling in. Where did they speak? Go. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Wax and Crescent. It's going to be good up. Absolutely. It's two idiots. Bubba did not do shit, unfortunately. Period. Period. Hey, what's everybody?
Starting point is 00:00:34 Welcome back to Door Bumper Clear. I am Freddie Craft. Spot up for Bubba Wallace. and Dean Thompson this week. How are you, Tom? I'm good, man. Yeah, good. Nice weekend.
Starting point is 00:00:43 It was a good weekend in Florida, yeah. You got up to a rocky start. You sent me a picture, a plane crashed almost into your damn hotel. Yeah, it was crazy. I heard a big old boom, and I'm sitting there, and I'm working on my computer,
Starting point is 00:00:54 and I'm looking around, I'm like, I must have been, I don't know what it was. You know, all of a sudden, some emergency vehicles come roaring down the beach. I look, there's a plane upside down in the waves. One of those air planes. You were in New Surma, right?
Starting point is 00:01:07 Yeah. Yeah. That's typical. That's just typical for Tommy. Carson, I don't know where to fuck Carson. Hey, Carson. How are you today? Carson decided that she didn't want to be here today.
Starting point is 00:01:16 So we have the super sub Eric Brennan back with us. I'm not as visually appealing to some of your listeners. I know that there's a lot of people that love Carson, but I'll try to do what I can. Are you sure you're not as visually appealing? How was your weekend, sir? I know you went and did some reason. Yeah, ARCA, Madison. I saw an official punch a four-cylinder car.
Starting point is 00:01:34 That was new. The car? He punched the car? Yeah. So I guess they were on a tight timeline because it. the TV and Phil Parson is hysterical. They're screaming at this four banger like, let's go. And guy comes up and he just punches the crap out of the door.
Starting point is 00:01:47 And Phil's like, if that was my car, when I come in, I'm punching him. But after the race. I mean, he whacked it good. Yeah, typical. And one of your, we have like a half a fox poof here. What are we going on here? It's a takeover. It's a takeover.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Welcome back, sir. How are you today? I'm good. So far. We'll see how this goes. How did you get roped into this? Well, Freddie, you're usually involved with that in some capacity. And, you know, I'm just appreciative you gave me more than a six-hour notice for a change.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Normally, Freddy's calling like the night before. Hey, can you come in? I'm like, no, I can't. It's not the night before. It's like two, three in a morning. 100%. It's the morning. I look at the message in the morning.
Starting point is 00:02:27 I'm like, oh, Big Al's just closed down. Let's be pretty on his way home. I don't know how he does it, man. It's usually, I got him today because I have to go to his house tonight. So we went to a fantasy football. We made it into a... Big night, big night. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:02:41 We made it to a full day affair, I think. But how is things? What's going on? How is golf? I know you've been golfing a whole hell of a lot. I don't golf a lot. My boy does, though. You go golfing.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Are you a caddy? I caddy, yeah. And let me tell you something. There's certain courses he plays. You walk 18 holes. You know it afterwards. And you got the bag and you got the push carts and the coolers and all this stuff. And I'm hoofing it around with eight-mile walks with it feels like
Starting point is 00:03:06 120 pounds like you're pushing a go-kart around. And he's shooting par on the par. Yeah, he's playing good right now. So hopefully we can keep that going. He's done some good stuff the past few weeks. And it's fun, man. I got to ask you, how was Megan feeling last week? Like, I mean, they looked like they got after it in Keywater.
Starting point is 00:03:25 So my favorite part, Megan claimed, no, I was good the whole time. At one point, I was drinking electrolyte waters. I was doing this. I was doing that. And the more of the story I get from her, I'm like, Babe, I know your tolerance all right? And for those that don't know, my wife doesn't drink very often. And when she does one or two drinks, and that's it.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Like, she's in the place she needs to be. And they're posting pictures throughout the day, and I'm adding up the drinks on the table. I'm like, whew, Megan's probably going to be hurting. Like, she's not acclimated to doing that very often. And she was fine. She got home Sunday and seemed like it was a good time. I know the girls all had fun. So that was a good trip.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Much needed for all of them. They look like they enjoyed them. I'm sure Key West has seen similar things before, but yeah, I definitely think they did their best to have a good time. Yeah. Tommy, how was, I mean, did you go to the track at all? I know you were in Daytona.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Did you ever come to the race track? Yeah, I went to the track for a little bit. Yep. How do you think the race played out? Like they hoped. I don't think it was exactly. Well, I mean, I don't know. You want to get into us?
Starting point is 00:04:34 Because I get yelled that old time. We could talk about some. Race stuff. Yeah. Well, I think, you know, I think at the end of the race, the stage was the wrong length. Yes. It was just to the point that, and I've been thinking about it since the race ended, I really have been. It's just, I think the restrictive plate races, in my opinion, need to be more stages.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Now, hear me out. People are going to, oh, why not? Well, my reason is it's going to get more, you're going to allow a driver to get more points, right? So they're not going to have, they're not going to want to lay back for losing 10, 20, more points than normal, right? And then put them right at the point where you don't have to say fuel the stages. Right.
Starting point is 00:05:12 So who cares, man? Just let's do these four races. Let's add some more stages. I'm, but let's not make them 10 laps, 10 minutes, 22 minutes, whatever it is. But I think we need to speed it up, make these guys race all the time, right? And get to a point that these guys are,
Starting point is 00:05:34 man, at the end of the end of the first, stage, them guys were out of control, right? They were. That was fun. Yeah. They were out of control. And I think if you do that more, and I thought about, well, you know, what happens is you get to a point with some stages, you'll be able to maybe stack up some fuel. But if you get to the point that you make them right on the point that they don't have to, then you'll see some more racing. They're close. The package is close. I think they need to do a little bit more. I think they need to take a little more spoiler off, right? And I think they, you know, I think they need to, I hate to beat a dead horse.
Starting point is 00:06:10 They need to work on this tire, man. They need to make it more slick. But it was way better than it was. Did it translate on TV? Because, you know, like, that's what I felt at the end of the first stage. Like, normally Bubba is one of the most aggressive guys in plate racing. And I think, you know, plate racing rewards aggression. And, like, we got clear of the bottom lane.
Starting point is 00:06:33 and I was like, I always usually like leave it up to him. Like you're cleared down if you want it. And the bottom lane was good. And I was like, you know, if you like clear down. And he stayed top. And I'm like, all right, whatever. So I got to. And he's like, man, I just wasn't comfortable enough to go down there because our car
Starting point is 00:06:48 wasn't handling. Like is that what they were going after? It was. And to answer the question, yeah, I felt like it did translate on TV. Now there were moments in the race and, you know, the first stage, right? I didn't have a computer up. I wasn't looking at lap times. wasn't paying attention to that yet. I had some other stuff going on too as I'm watching it and
Starting point is 00:07:06 paying attention to it. But that first stage was exactly what I had hoped it would look like, right? I mean, you had guys moving around, slip and sliding. It looked more like Daytona did early on in my career back when the track was rough and it was completely worn out. You just saw guys like they, you know, they were sliding. They were lifting a couple times they would cut to the in car. And there was moments going into the corner where you heard guys breathing it a little bit because you were getting that run on the guy in front of you, but you were. also knew like, hey, I can't just stay right on the gas pedal. I'm not going to push them away from me. I might lose the nose or I might lose the back of the car. So from that context, I think that was was exactly a step in the
Starting point is 00:07:44 right direction. And to Tommy's point, I think it was about halfway through stage two. I started noticing, I'm like, man, it looks like some of these guys are really saving. And that's when I fired the computer up, started looking at lap times. And I'm like, man, now could you visually see it on TV? No, but you could tell based on how the pack was and how it was kind of forming up a little bit. Now, did it look like it did in February when it was three-wide guys jamming up lanes completely? No, because it still looked like they were fighting the handle in a little bit. They were. I mean, they were all between 12- and 15-second pit stops, so they knew at the end of the stage two. They had to get it filled.
Starting point is 00:08:18 And I was, man, I mean, for, I don't know how long it's been about that many laps, if you save good, you can go in for the third stage. So I was a little confused, especially Ross Chess. because Ross, if you're looking at data during the race, Ross and Michael McDowell are the two best fuel savers, two of the top five best fuel savers in the field. They can save some fuel. You know, once you get like, you know, Cody Ware, you know, he always,
Starting point is 00:08:53 they never save fuel, right? They want to get to the front. They get good TV time. That's their goal, right? But all he does is helps the field, right? He gets to the front there. They want him to get to the front. Yeah, they want you to push.
Starting point is 00:09:05 They want him to get to the lead so they can all save. So it's like, all right, we'll let Cody go right up there. We'll let him get the lead. We'll run half throttle. I mean, they were showing a lot of the fuel traces on TV, and I was looking on my computer. I mean, most of those guys weren't even 50% on that. I was like, and when that group dropped,
Starting point is 00:09:26 when that group dropped and pitted, I was like, man, I don't, I don't, what, how are they? going to force that whole team. And then the other guys, did they not get it full? I'm not sure. The other three, four, the Henrik cars and Brucecoe. And then they took off. They just went too hard. Yeah. But
Starting point is 00:09:43 they just put themselves in a position that they were in the middle of the strategy that they weren't going to... Wasn't going to work out. The rest of the group were like, no, we're not going to follow. You go ahead. You go waste your fuel. Here's the question, though.
Starting point is 00:09:59 like, and I don't know that the toothpaste is out of the tube on fuel savings, right? And the formula to where we can jump some spots here, we can do this, we can do that. And I know we talk about, you know, adding stages and doing whatever. And I'm all for whatever, whatever gets the number to where you have to race. But then at some point also, you're going to have the yellow flag pit stops where somebody says, well, I'll ride around in the back to be able to just be two seconds quicker on that pit stop or whatever. I liken it to arrow, right? And we can say, well, we got to go back to this era with the arrow,
Starting point is 00:10:34 and it's going to make the race some better, and you can poke your left front out. You can do this. Again, a car out front is always going to have a decided advantage, no matter what we do, because that toothpaste is out of the tube also. And I look at it the same way in the fuel savings. Now, I say all that, and I hope there's a formula, and it's going to take somebody far smarter than me to figure that out.
Starting point is 00:10:54 But, like, if we can have a formula to where that first, stage and parts of the end of the race, that's what the racing is. It's close. It's close. And those guys, I mean, they're going to study all that. I mean, NASCAR's going to study it all that and go over all that. I mean, look, they're going to keep making it better. I'm telling you, we are, we're close.
Starting point is 00:11:18 The Daytona, you know, Tel-Dade is a little different, right? I mean, we're going to, we can't make big changes, right, because it's in the playoffs, right? the Daytona 500, if they make a couple changes, is going to be freaking awesome. Because the reason why we're a fuel saving is because you couldn't pass. If we just continue to work on the package, then we don't have the fuel save
Starting point is 00:11:41 because now we can go fucking, no matter where you come off the road, you can go race. And you saw those guys. You saw those guys dive low and gain positions, right? And do it on their own. You know, the nine car.
Starting point is 00:11:51 I mean, Josef, I mean, he just, I think, in my opinion, and he just put himself in the wrong spot because he didn't dive down low enough to get the air back on his car, right? He said... But that was old school. That's how we used to run turn three.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Yeah, but he... When he went down, he was too close to that car. And I know he said he felt immediate air on his nose, but he felt immediate air on his nose is because he didn't dive down low enough to get air on his rear spoiler. So he was too close. If he did, like, what, the nine and the 12 and 23,
Starting point is 00:12:24 every now and then I see him jump down. Were you telling him that? I mean, he would just jump down just to jump down. He didn't. I was like, we got bored. And I even said, I said, Bubba is having, kind of having fun. We're learning. You know, like learning what you can do later.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Yeah, basically. Even on the host of our thing, too, though, you got to remember how we used to run that track, right? And if you went too high into turn three and tried to cut down at the wrong spot, even if the air didn't affect it, it wasn't. going to work. Like the car would get light right there no matter what. You know, back in the, I don't want to say back in the day and sound old, but like, you're old. I know. But like 15 years ago, you'd go in a little bit lower just to make sure you're loaded up for the corner better. That's what he did. I mean, he didn't have any of that. And those guys that were, that knew what to do, they'd do it right. The whole group would get back up, side draft down
Starting point is 00:13:17 the straightaway. Yep. Get back down. I mean, just do what needed to be done. I mean, he just made, and you know Carson just made a mistake that car was fast at the end I mean yeah he did a good job and he saved hard the beginning of the stage and that was like
Starting point is 00:13:30 that was my biggest gripe with it I just we just like I felt like we had a really good car like we could kind of do whatever the hell we want to end of the first stage we're making moves we're passing guys
Starting point is 00:13:40 and the end of the first stage was maybe the last time we got to race you know what I mean like it was from that point on it was take care of fuel you know run 60% throttle to this lap and then you want to be the goal is you save enough fuel
Starting point is 00:13:53 so you're the first guy that can go. And it's like we spent the rest of the race, even the last stage. But I was like, what am I going to get the green light to go? I'm like, I don't even know that you are. We're trying to make it to the end here now. I know, but there was five or six guys
Starting point is 00:14:06 that did that same thought process you did, but ran the top five or six to hold pretty much the whole race. So there was a point, I think during that first stage to position yourself for the rest of the race. And a lot of guys probably didn't realize that. Was it at the end? end of the stage when the winter went spinning through the infield?
Starting point is 00:14:25 Yeah, I mean, again, it's hard. It's so hard touching somebody through the tri-oval, man. It's the lightest place on the racetrack at tri-oval. It's the least down force. It's the least load on the car. And it's just like, everybody should know, do not push on the tri-oval, man. I know he didn't get them lined up right. It wouldn't have mattered. You cannot push in the tri-oval. Eric, how good was a story to watch Ryan Priest had that play out of my mind. This sport has a way of just having things
Starting point is 00:15:03 work themselves out, in my opinion. Like when Junior won at Daytona after his father's passing, Regan, I think of the win that they took away from you at Talladega, and then you got the one back at Darlington. He's throwing daggers at me. No, no, just saying it works out. And, you know, for Priest, and I'm so happy that he's been so honest about, like,
Starting point is 00:15:21 how close he was to being in a lot. of debt, perhaps in trouble in his marriage because he was using his wife's credit card to keep himself rolling to keep the chance alive and moving back home. And, you know, to see that pay off for him, that's, you know, great guy, hard-nosed race. I mean, the first time that I met him outside of your house, Freddie, was Smart Modify race at South Boston. He had a weekend off on the cup car. And he is underneath his family-old modified doing his own work. And I'm like, this is your idea of a weekend off, Ryan? He's like, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Like, pure racer and happy for him. And I mean,
Starting point is 00:15:54 I know we'll get into a little bit more, but, you know, the way that the math worked with the difference in the win versus second being the ultimate, you know, kind of differentiation from him making it and not. You know, I think NASCAR got what they wanted. It's not still a win in your end scenario, but him winning that race meant more than him just finishing top five and scoring stage points. So I hope that they make a rules change about three weeks before Daytona that throws all these teams for a curveball because how many times do we see it to where there's a rules change and the racing product is really good because of it. it because my only fear is that these engineers are so smart that they're going to have that car science out by Daytona and that it's it's not going to look quite like that first stage did that we saw the other night but but going back to the to the points thing there was a couple times where i you know i was i was questioned that i thought maybe it wasn't that close is why maybe it wasn't
Starting point is 00:16:41 there but as it got to the end of the race i felt like you know you saw it and kind of knew with the where it was at exactly and sometimes you know sometimes the computer systems on how those points are measured early on it's really weird because if if some somebody's running 10th in stage 1, all they can do with the predictability of those is it assumes that they finish 10th in stage 2 and win the race. So the numbers don't always look right. So I know even us, a lot of times, we'll steer clear of it until we get to stage 3 and that's where we start to show it. And maybe that's too much inside baseball. But there's a reason for some of that stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:16 But overall, the points thing, right, you look at all three series. And we changed the points up this year and we're like, well, what's the battle going to look like for who gets into the chase, who gets out of the chase. All three series were as compelling as they could be. I know the trucks, it was the same guy that, same guys that started the race in, but coming to five to go, it did not look like that was going to be the case. O'Reilly had somebody jumped their way in.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Cup had somebody jumped their way in. Like, what more could you ask for when it comes down to it? I know everybody was arguing about, man, if it was 10, it would be more exciting. But did those points change? shit. You know, did the ninth, the 11th get in the 10th at the... I didn't look to see where that moves. I mean, but I mean, I, everyone's like, you know, short in the playoffs, but I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I mean, I just, like, the thing for me is love, Ryan's one of my good friends. And I'm super happy for him. He did everything he could do. I was kind of hoping that he ended up like 24 points out so we could give him shit. about the penalty. He's my good buddy and I wanted him to still mess. But like even now,
Starting point is 00:18:31 great, you made it. Now you're 100 points out. Does Ryan have any chance at, like, I don't think he's going to make 100 points up on Denny Hamill. No, but he has a chance to finish in the top 10. I mean, look, we...
Starting point is 00:18:43 I will say, I think the added bump for wins, if someone was to go out and do what Tony Stewart did in 2011 and win five of the next 10 races, we could... You still have a lot of work to do to contend for the title, but because that bump in points from second to first is as large as it is, and I think it should be bigger, you can kind of give a team that shot if they go on a roll at the right time.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Prime example is the run Joey's been on. Like, if you want to look at what can happen with the points, that run right there, now where he was at in points and where he got to, probably not going to be the same as what the front of the chase is going to look like because you got a little bit different caliber car that's up there in the top six. so you're not going to leapfrog those guys quite as fast, but I think can priests win five in a row? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Can somebody that's back there do that? I'm here to watch it and see if somebody does go on one of those. I mean, my point of the points is, you know, these guys, us, the pick crew guys, the teams, the owners, the sponsors, we work so hard, man. right? And it's just like it's almost like a kick in a, you know what in the ass, ah, you've forgotten, right? I mean, it's, I think it's better that you have more of these teams involved for the storylines, for the business, in my opinion. Who do you think's the biggest surprise not to make it? I'm trying to pull the points up here, but I, I mean, I think, I mean, with the way the
Starting point is 00:20:14 cars, the team's been running? I don't think, I think Brad, I think Brad Keselowski is probably the biggest surprise because his car is better than 18th, right? I think they made a lot of mistakes. I think there's a lot of things that happened. I think he's probably the biggest standout, in my opinion, as far as how it's strong the team was, how good he is, how good the team is, not to make the top, you know, 16 or not, he should be in the top 10, you know, he's that good. I think based on, I would agree with that based on this season, right, the body of work we've seen this season. If you ask me to base it on, you know, going into Daytona, what, eight, six months ago, however long ago it was, who the biggest surprise to me is the one car, Ross Chastain,
Starting point is 00:21:02 100%. No, I think he is. Just based on where, you know, we would have anticipated track house to be throughout the course of the season and where they were at last year. Brad was there. He was there too, yeah. No, but he was in it already. They just messed up. I mean, I think they just, a compound of problems got them into that place.
Starting point is 00:21:20 But yes, Ross is a playoff driver, but the team's just not there. I mean, it just, it sucks. It's so hard running hard, right? The stuff ain't easy. No, I mean, it's just, I wish everybody would, I would like to bring. bring like 20 fans in and have the pieces of the car and the shop, just apart.
Starting point is 00:21:47 I put this car together, all right, and set it up. And three weeks from now, I want you to pick one of you guys to drive and go race and see how you make out. We'll talk more about priests, Daytona, and the Cup Series side. How about O'Reilly? I'm talking about, you know, good things happen to good people. Ryan Sieg, 424 starts. And I mean, he's finished second by inches before at Texas and other places.
Starting point is 00:22:16 He finally gets that win with that family-owned team. That was awesome. I think he had to change the number, right? That was what it took. Yeah. That's what I said. I said, the poor guy, worst, like, finally wins his first race. He's not even running his number.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Like, it's got to be such a kick in the balls. But, yeah, I mean, obviously, Ryan, Rod, Kyle, that family. Rod, Sieg, maybe one of my favorite people in the entire garage. because you know, like, he's a racer and you, he's going to tell you exactly what's on his mind the second you see him. And it's just like you can't, that's all you could want a person. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:52 I mean, he's just, they're racers, man. And to be in the position that they've been in, right, that, I mean, obviously they don't have the most money, right? But they're always running well, right? Those guys are just, they're racers, man. And you got to appreciate people like that. and not giving up. And, you know, congratulations to that whole team. And I know they work hard, man.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Yeah, I think in spot on, spot off, we'll talk about how they accomplished that. One of the house cars, the house team figured out a way to fuck that up again. How do you think, how do you think that? Too many of them. They got too many cars. How do you think that Friday night on into Saturday went with that group, too? You think they had a little bit of fun with it?
Starting point is 00:23:34 Oh, you like, so a buddy of mine ran into Kyle at breakfast the next day. And he's like, he didn't look, I think they, I think Sunday. Had you been to bed yet or were they up on it? So they said they all look good. Like I think Saturday they went out. Like I don't think that they actually did anything until the week like that night because they got out of there so late probably. But I'm sure at some point this weekend those boys had a good time.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Well, I just to echo what you guys are saying, there's nobody in the garage. I will almost guarantee the Southern whoever finished second third and so on and so forth. But that wasn't happy for the Siegs for that family for, you know, as long as they've been. doing this, right? It is, and, you know, could have happened numerous times prior to now, but good for them. And you just knew, you knew they were going to enjoy it. And I couldn't be happier for them. Opposite end of the spectrum. How about JGR having two of their four cars, full-time cars, miss the chase cut line. Now granted, Brent spotted the field about three races because he wasn't old enough to run the first three of the year. But him and Sawal, which both
Starting point is 00:24:34 got caught up in a wreck. And that is certainly not the expectations that that organization had going into this year at all. Yeah, I kind of knew, we talked about it on here a couple weeks ago, Raja was going to make up ground because the JARM cars are so fast that he's going to, he's going to get stage points. So there was like a 14, 15 point, you know, deficit going in. I said, he's going to erase that by the end of stage two, like even if they didn't have any issues.
Starting point is 00:25:00 So, like, that's the pressure they're under. They know they have to try to get up there. And I don't think it's a secret in that series that Toyota doesn't have the speed that they need. Like they're, they're not bad, but they don't match the Hendrick motors, essentially.
Starting point is 00:25:14 So they, they didn't do anything wrong. They just got caught up in other people shit. It seemed like I, you know, it looked like the 48 got turned on the back. That collected Brent. The front stretch was,
Starting point is 00:25:27 I didn't, Alfredo was kind of making a move up to middle and, and maybe a little too aggressive, but the 17 kind of like came down on a little bit. And that, that's what collected the 18. So it was like, it's nothing they did. It's just part of Speedway racing.
Starting point is 00:25:41 But I mean, I don't know. It would have been interesting how that was going to play out with three of them within a point or two of each other. Regardless of how it got to that point, there's a couple team meetings today that it's probably not a lot of smiles. I've seen a lot of cars here this morning in the circle. Yeah. What do you mean? The helicopter is not here, but there's a bunch of. Toughest of Wallach because obviously no winning you're in anymore there.
Starting point is 00:26:07 He got the win at Rockingham, but he's going to be watching the playoffs like the rest of us. Basic news, we are getting Days of Thunder 2 with Tom Cruise and Ann Hathaway. That was announced this weekend. So that's pretty cool to see
Starting point is 00:26:17 the sport getting back in kind of a pop culture spot. Curious how it's going to look. Yeah, just don't screw it up. Yeah, right? Well, hey, if track records anything, right? They had, what, Top Gun 2 or whatever they call it? Yeah, the Maverick.
Starting point is 00:26:29 I thought it was just as good as the first one. So, you know what? Let's see if they could pull it off with Days of Thunder. And it's going to be tough to top that movie, right? Like that's a classic movie, but how cool is it that they are doing it again? And I know it's been rumored for a while and everything, but to officially be out there with it.
Starting point is 00:26:45 And what? Tom was at the racetrack too, right? Yeah, it was there. It was funny. I saw Saxie walking around the garage yesterday and I wonder if he's coming back for Days of Thunder 2. He's probably trying to weasel his way in there, knowing him. Hey, I'll tell you who won the weekend for me was Cole Perrin talking about Days of Thunder 2. Did you see Colper?
Starting point is 00:27:02 I've seen you texted. Cole, could you, could you, Can you pull it up, Donald? Yeah, Cole tweeted, we'll see here in a second, but basically he's like, I can't wait for days of thunder two
Starting point is 00:27:14 to showcase all the fuel saving we do at Daytona. So I called my guy, hey, you want to come on a podcast? He goes, nah, I just want to talk shit on Twitter. But I mean,
Starting point is 00:27:28 Cole's an awesome guy, but yeah, the movie will be fun. I hope. It'll be interesting to see how they integrated with our series because they had a, it was probably before your time even, right?
Starting point is 00:27:39 That was what, like early 90s? Did they film the first one? Yeah. So, like, I mean, were they? Was the car? Like, in the races? They were into 125s, whatever it was back then. Yeah, they were in the back doing all the filming.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Yeah. Same thing as. Greg was driving. Yeah, he was driving. A couple of them. They did a couple races, too. Like Phoenix. Yeah, they filmed a bunch.
Starting point is 00:27:59 There was two. There was two. There was two. Three guys in the back doing it. And I hope they do that again. I hope they show, which they will. I mean, I know, they know what they're doing. It'll be cool to see what the timeline looks like on when that movie will be ready.
Starting point is 00:28:12 Jordan Bianchi reports that the, what is now, Craspin Truck Series, set to be called the FedEx Freight Truck Series. That's awesome, man. That is, like, one of the best-cores names. Does that fit it, though? Yeah, I can't remember who it was. I wish I could give him credit. But somebody tweeted to me and said, if there's not a fucking FedEx truck leading the field next year.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Yeah. Yeah, it's a pace car? That needs to be the pace truck. Yeah. But there is a difference, right, between the FedEx break and FedEx. Yeah. So I didn't know. Put an 18 wheeler out there.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Let's go for it. Why not? I think it's the perfect name for the truck series. Yeah. As long as I don't get dyslexic and call it the trade fuck series. Shoot. You can say anything on TV once. Only once.
Starting point is 00:28:57 And speaking of 2027, all three national schedules are out. So Cup O'Reilly truck. My only bitch off the top is no standalones for O'Reilly at all. all. That may be the first time that's happened ever. I got to go back and check that. But there is not a single weekend O'Reilly's going to be center stage or on the spotlight without another national series. I don't think they have to be. I think Saturdays are their day to be in the spotlight. And I think CW does a really good job promoting it. And I think the fans know exactly where to go. And I think there's enough good racing that it doesn't matter. I think on, I think Saturday,
Starting point is 00:29:31 the O'Reilly series is like what college football is to the NFL, in my opinion. I mean, it has set a point now that the racing's awesome. There's really good race car drivers and teams. There's really good broadcasting. They know what they're doing. And the numbers show there's something to, it's on the same channel all year long. It's around the same time all year long. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:29:55 Like, less than a night race. But like, it's just and it's, and the numbers reflected. I mean, they're doing overrun. They get views every week. Yeah, I mean, it's wild, too. Like, you pop on, and I think most everybody's, you know, YouTube TV or different stuff like that at this point in all this change. And like, I'll pop the TV on on a Saturday. And there's a lot of times I'm like, oh, wait, where do I have to go?
Starting point is 00:30:18 Well, YouTube automatically pops it to the top of you want to watch this. It records it automatically if you don't want to watch it. So it's, you know, it's easy to get to. And, yeah, I don't mind the standalones. but I kind of lean towards, you know what, for the fans at the track, you know that you can go watch a race on Saturday, you can watch a race on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:30:37 And I'm sure, you know, I haven't heard anything about this, but I'm sure it just came down to where the weekends stacked up and, you know, with some of the movement that took place in the schedule, it just didn't work out to where there was one
Starting point is 00:30:47 and we'll get back to them if it works out. The one thing I did want to ask you guys about, did you see, so obviously the last lap got a little chaotic. I get on the plane, somebody shows me a video from Stenthouse, in car and I'm like what the fuck was he doing?
Starting point is 00:31:04 I don't know man. So if you bet the three gets into his left rear. Okay. I did because they didn't show it. I was like I guess God did he just hook him? Like what was like what the hell happened? But if you go back and look at like the panoramic view of it and Austin didn't do anything wrong. They're just three wide kind of all trying to merge back onto the racetrack.
Starting point is 00:31:25 They were below the yellow line. So and Austin just kind of leans on his left rear at the same time that Ryan kind of itches up a little bit and Ricky, but like when you watch that in-car camera you're like, what the fuck is Ricky doing? I haven't seen that in-car.
Starting point is 00:31:38 I did see Blaney's in-car with the radio. He was thinking the same thing. Like, what? Blaney crashed out on the radio. It doesn't sound like him at all. Daniel died. Now Daniel die on the other hand,
Starting point is 00:31:49 I don't know where the fuck he was going. Like his in-car was wherever he got there in a hurry. He was trying to get into Larson's car, I think, like through the window. But yeah, like he was. was, and it's, to, to, to, in his defense, I know the spotter was saying check up, it was green.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Like, it was, you're sorry. Like, we had checked. We were behind it. We started like 28th on that restart. So we're behind it. And I'm like, you know, wrecking, check up this way, that way. And then I look down, I'm like, oh, shit, the fucking, it's still green. Like, throttle back up. But like, so now, like, again, like, don't make us drive through a wreck like that. It's like, I understand if it happens in the back. But that's a midpack wreck that ends up starting, you know, the guy, like, whatever. Ryan was around fourth or fifth gets hooked in the fence like don't make us go wide open through a wreck like that because you're going to see the shit like people are going to give Daniel die shit but hey you left a green just about until that point so like what else he's supposed yeah the devil's advocate for one second though they've been pretty consistent at the speedways with how they've been policing that all year long right at the end of the races so we also want
Starting point is 00:32:53 consistency as well so like it's some point they were going to go green all the way until Blaney. So Blaney got hooked. They were going green. I mean, you know if they didn't throw the yellow when the big one happened, they committed. They wanted to see that six, you know, those guys fight to the end and who knows what would have happened.
Starting point is 00:33:13 The seven would have, the seven. The seven was lined up teammate. And I had a teammate. And I'm sure NASCAR was like, God, dang. I mean, you know what I'm saying? You know, they didn't want to throw the yellow. No, they were like, God, you know, they were like, I can't believe this. We had something set up for TV for the fans and it just didn't work out.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Nope. Eric, before we go to spot on, spot off, we talk about, we talk a little bit about the schedule. Speaking of schedule, are you making a comeback? Like, I mean, what are we got going on? Yeah. What? He's running the 25 truck.
Starting point is 00:33:48 When? Bristol. Oh my. That's what I thought too. Yeah. Bristol and Charlotte. Two of them? Originally it was going to be one. And then, you know, and we, and we, talked earlier in the year about it. And I was like, well, it's got to be at the end of the year.
Starting point is 00:34:02 I won't, I won't do it early on. And whenever, uh, whenever, uh, whenever talked to those guys again, I was like, well, what about these ones? These are open. And I was like, well, these two might make a little bit of sense, but I didn't know Bristol was going to be part of it. And after I was like, yeah, you know what? Let's do Bristol? Then I got thinking about how I'm like, man, I'm not in driver shape anymore. I don't know if I can make it 250 laps of Bristol. It's like, do you guys have the cool vest? Do you have a cool suit? Do you have all this other stuff? because I'm going to need every bit of it just to get out there. But excited, right?
Starting point is 00:34:33 It'll be fun. And quite honestly, I really got to thank McMurray and Boyer for setting the bar low because I was a little nervous if I was going to do it. Once they went out and did what they did, I was like, oh, I mean, if I just finish, I'll have bragging rights over them. So, but it's exciting. All right, the way they've done that program this year with the free agent truck. Are you a free agent?
Starting point is 00:34:52 I didn't realize, I mean, you're trying to get back in? You ready? I can assure you, I'm not trying to get back. If I'm not in an ice bath the entire day Friday after that Bristol race, it'll be a sheer miracle. And it's a- You got a golf tournament that weekend. You got to walk?
Starting point is 00:35:07 He's got 18 on Sunday. Oh, man. And the other one was Charlotte. And I did the Charlotte race earlier this year. And the more I thought about that, I'm like, man, I remember watching that race. I remember the chaos and the carnages ensued. And I keep going back to Corey Day's hit on the inside wall where that truck took a little bit of and hit the inside wall.
Starting point is 00:35:29 I'm like, what was I thinking? Am I a freaking moron right now or what? How much do you have to, like obviously you're going to run these two races and they're into playoffs or the chase? You know, how much thought process goes into like how, I don't want to say, careful you have to be around those guys. But like, does that weigh into like your decision making on the race track, you think? If I can just make it around the racetrack and keep it straight the whole time,
Starting point is 00:35:54 there's going to be no thought process. If you see a playoff guy, you're doing that. I'm going to be behind the wheel going, what am I doing? I'm not even going to know who's around me. I'll tell you the one thing you are going to learn, how much harder it is. No, I don't doubt that.
Starting point is 00:36:10 I didn't joke about this when they announced it. I genuinely said on X, I was like, I don't know if I'm more excited or nervous because it's not only is it tougher, the field, every bit of it. Everybody's like, I'm telling you, the field, the all three series. the field is hard, man. There's deep fields these days.
Starting point is 00:36:31 And I haven't done it in seven years now, I think. Seven years? Just a little bit. Well, good luck. I'll be watching. That Charlotte race will be on Big Fox, too. I'll be watching. Go, watch out of this.
Starting point is 00:36:40 No pressure, right? Geo, watch out for this bumping the funny 25. Somebody, when it got announced, somebody put a little predictive thing on my Twitter, like what the results were going to be. And I think one of them was Bristol, four laps down. Charlotte, TNF. And I looked at those and I was like, well, four laps, not that might be a good day. That might not be that bad.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Thank you for the confidence. The vote of confidence here. Well, we've narrowed down the door bumper clear fan submissions to the top five designs. And all five shirts are live on our store. And wouldn't you know that those five or options of those five were the best selling items on the store for the past week. So we are crushing it. Who would have thought? No shit.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Our fans are good, man. I mean, we have the best fans, the best listeners in the world. I don't know who's winning. We haven't got the updated standings yet, but if you like a shirt, I know Eric, you got a couple. I'm sure we're going to get a couple of them. I told you last week my two favorite, so I'm going to buy those two. You're going to buy them? I got to buy them because I want the guy to win.
Starting point is 00:37:43 I'm not buying. You're not buying it. I'm fine. I mean, I love them all. But you've got to pick your shirt and at least buy one of them. I'm going to buy the one. I want the one. I want the one.
Starting point is 00:37:52 The mirror. You like the mirror one. I like that one. Yeah. But yeah, it's been fun, man. It's so much interaction with the fans for this. And the designs, I think we nailed it with the five we picked. And hear that they're the best-selling ones on the website is absolutely no surprise to me.
Starting point is 00:38:06 On NASCAR's website, I heard. Oh, yeah. We're number one for sales. We beat the horse of our. Straight to the top. Yeah, right to the top. So the three best-selling designs win and every purchase made by the end of the day on September 9th, mentors for you for a chance to win a $50 Dirty Mo Media gift card.
Starting point is 00:38:26 So thanks to all those who have been participating, all those who have been voting, all those who've been purchasing. Man, I'll tell you what, DBC, you all, I mean, I'm a part-timer here, but you guys have a lot to be proud of because you've got some fan base and it shows each and every week. They're crazy. They're good kind of crazy. But yeah, if you see a shirt, you like it, like, please buy it because you're going to
Starting point is 00:38:48 reward the people that design these stuff. and obviously some of the designs are awesome. They deserve to win. It's going to be, I think it's $200 to win, $100 for second, $50 for third. So, you know, if you see something you like going by it, and hopefully we can get these people the money they deserve for all the work they put in to get these designs out. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:39:12 Spot on. Spot on. Did you want to go first on this one? I think he's a whiny bit. That's what I think. Send it. Why me? All right, ready for spot on, spot on?
Starting point is 00:39:25 Let's do it. All right. Spot on, spot off. Ryan Priest's walkoff win at Daytona made making the chase impossible for SVG. Tommy. I don't think it was impossible. I just... He could have rant better?
Starting point is 00:39:37 Yeah. I mean, yeah. I mean, the goal was to both of them needed to run next to each other for that problem not to happen. Yeah. SVG just couldn't run with Ryan Saturday night. Plain and simple. Yeah, I mean, I would say spot off. I didn't think it made it impossible.
Starting point is 00:39:58 There was a formula for SVG to still get in. What was it, 12th that he would have had to have finished, I think, 12th or better based on Ryan winning the race. And, you know, it just didn't work out. Like they played the hands, SVG's team played the hand that was dealt to them. They did what they had to do. And unfortunately, they had to pit, right? And they get caught up in the wreck. And who knows if they don't have to pit where they shake up with all the stuff that happened on the back straightway?
Starting point is 00:40:23 I think more than anything, priest just did a, I mean, he went out there and got it. Ryan went out and got 67 points. I mean, you know, like, it's not impossible. SVG could have run top 10 and made his way in. But Ryan put all the, I saw at the end of stage two when Ryan, I think he finished second stage two. I was like, ooh, that's like SVG won the first stage.
Starting point is 00:40:46 And I said, okay, Ryan got that back in the second stage. Now with their back took almost even. I said, if he can, if he can just continue to be up front. and like, but like you don't realize like the win like Eric was talking about earlier. It just makes that much more of a difference where, you know, we were coming to green and he's, I think he was 17 up. And I'm like,
Starting point is 00:41:06 that's losing the lead and losing two spots. And it's over, you know, so I think just Ryan, the team that weekend, they qualified well, raced well, they got turned around the first stage,
Starting point is 00:41:18 cut the car right back to where it was earlier. And they just executed and did exactly what they needed. The SVGs guys, they executed the first stage. They did exactly what needed to be done. They won the first stage. But did they go, okay, everything's going to be okay, right? Did they, like, if it was me, man, I would have been like, we got to just run with the 60, right? I mean, if the fuel mileage wasn't there, I mean, you settle back where you are in points, right, and just sit there and save fuel, right?
Starting point is 00:41:52 but look, I'm sure they were trying. Do you, when they see the end of stage one and they win stage one and Priests backwards in the infield, you know, and how he didn't tear anything up or hit anything at that point on that car and it still was as good as it was. But even then, you don't envision Preyce is going to go from last in the field all the way back up through to win the race at that moment. And I don't by any means to think they lifted off the gas pedal. All those guys were given everything they had every, you know, every second of.
Starting point is 00:42:22 60% Yeah. But that was 100% based on what your team needed you to do in that moment. Everybody had that opportunity the same as Ryan did driving back to the front.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Just 95% of the people chose not to. Right. I mean, if they all chose to, it would have been a hell of a race because none of them would have got to the front, right? I mean, if, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:44 but they let, they let them do that, right? I mean, credit also, though, you know, as we're talking about this, credit to Shane Van Gisbergen, right? His interview after the race, while bad mood and not happy about it, like the guy still always finds a way to, he's smiling, right? And like, that's his personality.
Starting point is 00:43:07 And he didn't drag anybody through the mud or do anything like that. I mean, he pointed out, like, you could look back through a number of different races for that team this year and say, like, San Diego. If he has San Diego back, this is not even a conversation right now. And that was nothing of his own doing. There's five or six teams that wish they had. The same way. I get it.
Starting point is 00:43:26 It is what it is. The thing is that 60 came and stomped ass. End of story. Yeah. They did exactly what they needed it. 100%. All right, spot on, spot off. NASCAR decides not to throw the red flag
Starting point is 00:43:38 after Hosevar's wreck and runs 10 laps under yellow. Freddie. Spot off because if they want to do that, that's fine. It was great for us because we pitted. But the fact that we went green when the first, the track was not ready yet. You know, like we went, they went, they blew it off twice. And I watched the pace car go through there at whatever he's running, 50, 60 miles an hour.
Starting point is 00:44:01 And he goes up and you can see just dust flying off the pace car. And he's like, track's good tower. I'm like, the fuck it is. Like, you're running 60. We're about to do this at 160. It was nice. It was nice watching the lead to go. I was paying attention because I was trying to see where the air was going.
Starting point is 00:44:18 It was pretty cool. I was like, man, what's happening in there? My biggest issue is I just don't know why they didn't go red. I feel like in years past, yeah. Like, and you can't let, again,
Starting point is 00:44:27 I've said it 100 times. You can't let the situation dictate what you're doing. In years past, we've gone red, clean the racetrack up, we go green. Because of, I feel like because people,
Starting point is 00:44:38 some people were close off fuel, some people that already pit, we didn't throw the red. And I don't know if that's true or not, but like we just let it play out. And then that's fine. If you want to do that, I don't care.
Starting point is 00:44:49 But when we, if we're going to burn 10 fucking, We better make sure the track is right when we go back. But I think in a position like that, if you were making the decisions, Freddie, it's a tough decision because who are you helping out? That shouldn't be a decision. No, but it's not, it's not, it's not, it's, it kind of is because it's like you're, you, you, the teams are putting people in positions to have to make a decision whether, if everyone pitted,
Starting point is 00:45:16 if everyone pitted, I guarantee you there would have been. a red flag. They should have gone red before they ever opened pit road. Yeah. They should have, as soon as they saw that wreck, as soon as they saw the fluid, they should have said, I don't think they knew how bad it was. Pace car stopped with the backstress. I don't think they knew how bad it was. I mean, at one point, Hosemar was trying to drive
Starting point is 00:45:35 it back, right? So they're probably getting that report and thinking, uh, if he's trying to drive it back, maybe it's not, no. Watching the impact, you knew it was pretty bad. I knew immediately. I told Charles, because we were really close on fuel. And I said, Charles, this is going to there was five to go, I think at the time.
Starting point is 00:45:51 I said, Charles, we're going to go to overtime. Like, they're not going to get these cars unhooked right away, and there's a big string of fluid behind them. I was like, this is going to, so we made a decision, like, as soon as it's open, we got to pit because we have enough to get to 160. We don't have enough past that. And I just think they should have immediately, in that moment, red flag, like we've done a hundred times.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Like, let's get this track right because we went back reading and it, like, we went through that the first time, and I'm like, it's a fucking sandstorm, like in three and four. Bubba was losing his mind afterwards. which he's like, that might have been one of the most fucking dangerous things I've ever done in a race car was fucking. It was cool. The joke's going to be on all of us because what we didn't realize was that's actually the opening scene two days of thunder. They had the cameras in the cars already.
Starting point is 00:46:35 So the lap, the first time they blew it off, it was fucking. It was ridiculous. And Bubba was like, I said, this is days of thunder. Like it's like that one scene where you can't see shit, they just come through the cloud of smoke. But yeah, it's just, it was. frustrating. I didn't care. I was like yeah, let's burn. The yellow laps. I don't like, you either got to go red or
Starting point is 00:46:56 stay yellow long enough to make sure the track is right and the track wasn't, we should not have gone back green. We should have probably cleaned it up for another lap or two. But one way or the other, that was not a good decision. See if they re-evaluate for Talladega if something similar happens. All right, we touched on this a lot in the open,
Starting point is 00:47:13 but spot on spot off. The change of the Cubs Series speedway package was successful. Regan, I'll put you on the spot for that. Oh, I think spot on. I mean, the car was very successful. Now, do we have to work on other stuff to get rid of the fuel? But spot on 100%. What was Gluck's pole? It's a good race. It was 80. 80? That's 74, 75 when I looked at it. Yeah, I think we could actually make, we could generate runs. We could, you know, you weren't still, you're not going to pull out a line and go by anybody by yourself. But like, it was better.
Starting point is 00:47:46 And the, the downfall was the stage lengths. You know, they were. essentially you could make every stage off fuel if you just saved. And so 79.6% for yes. That was the down. I think that we go back, they need to make the first stage longer, a little bit longer. You don't have to get through a fuel window.
Starting point is 00:48:06 But like if you make that one 45, 50 laps, then you can go almost 50, 50, 50, and we could pretty much make it without heavy fuel saving. But it's, I mean, you're still always going to save. You got to put them in this, in my opinion, you're going to have to put them in a position where you don't have. What happens if you go a little bit deeper than that, you start stacking up fuel for the end. So there's people still going to do it.
Starting point is 00:48:32 You have to get to a point that they got to earn something, right, and not have to. You got to get to a point where we can pass. Yeah. And that eliminates a fuel saving. It also goes the other way. If you eliminate having the fuel save, you're going to have to pass. and if they're going to show you something, give you something to pass, you're going to pass, right? All we're doing, right?
Starting point is 00:48:57 All the crew chiefs are doing and teams are doing it is adapting to what decisions NASCAR is making. It's pretty simple. I mean, we can figure that shit out pretty good, pretty quick. It's not that hard. But just we're going to have to get to a point. And I'm excited. I'm really excited for the 500 because, again, I know I said it earlier. I think there's going to be a couple more decisions
Starting point is 00:49:19 and it's going to be freaking awesome. Yeah. I really like that when they were pushing and not fuel saving, like, you know, end of stage one or end of the race, you know, Freddie, to your point, like it used to just be two lanes locked, stuck, knocking the crap out of each other. And that was how these races were finishing.
Starting point is 00:49:35 It was whoever the lucky car was on the inside of the outside lane, nobody else had a shot. It seemed like you could generate a run or be a little more strategic now. So to me, definitely step in the right direction. All right, spot on, spot off. Raja Caruth cost you. J.R.M. The win at Daytona, Tommy.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Freddie, you have spot, man. You got to, you do a better job explaining this one. I looked at Herschman with five to go and I said, how are they going to fuck this one up? Because, I mean, I'm sorry, people in here want to be happy with me, but they do this every time. And I don't know, I'd have to go back and look at a little bit closer because we were struggling. We had issues all night long. So we were in the back. I don't know how aggressively
Starting point is 00:50:16 Rajah was backing up, trying to get a run. But with two or three to go, that's not the time to be. Like, I saw Justin say like, it was a good push. I was squared up pushing them. Didn't need to be pushing at that moment. Why are you pushing?
Starting point is 00:50:32 Like, that's the move you make coming to the checker. If it's the backstretch, the front stretch, at least take the white flag because then if you do wreck, you win the race. The race is, you know, if those two wreck, the race is over, Carson wins. you now all you did this in this scenario and it came back to bite him was you open the door for somebody else to get up there on a restart or whatever and like it just was it's so
Starting point is 00:50:55 unnecessary to the three of them have the race in control like however nobody can make a move because if they make a move if justin's not slow if justin can't block it raja can so they have the race in control like it's it's they can't lose with three to go unless they fucking wreck each other and they fucking wrecked each other. So I don't know. Did Rajah take the blame? I don't know. But like I know I'm sure he was probably gauging backing up to like see if he can generate a run down the back to pass Carson on the last lap or so. But like it just he had been doing it for a few laps prior also, right? Just just backing up. And my answer would be spot off. I don't think he cost him the win. I think that they collectively found a way to to mess that up.
Starting point is 00:51:42 It's the point with two or three to go. You're no longer teammates. Yeah, no. I mean, you have to, you. Yeah, but that move never, there never should have been a move until coming off a turn four. Turn four, okay, take the gloves off. If you guys wreck coming to the stripe, man, it stings, but we were racing for the win. And in Raj's defense, what I saw was him just trying to calculate out, where will I have
Starting point is 00:52:04 the run, where do I have to back it up, how am I going to get the push off of the seven car and when can I make the move? they had that big run down the back stretch because he had backed it up off a turn two just a little bit and I don't ever think Raja intended to make a move right there and I almost question if Justin maybe didn't think and I haven't talked to either one of these guys so I don't know or I haven't seen anything
Starting point is 00:52:24 but like I almost questioned if he didn't think that he's going to go for the move right here now where the push came getting into the corner and the way that they were moving down the racetrack a little bit it's a tough spot to give a push right there and you would think yeah you gotta release him release right then at that moment. And especially if you're not squared up perfectly, be conscious of that.
Starting point is 00:52:45 I don't think you can blame just one guy, though, to say, Raja? No. Yeah, I mean, plus the other thing is you almost got to get in that position, a good position of leading with one to go in case the caution does come out. Right? That kind of changed it a little bit, right? Yeah. You try to do that type of stuff with two to go to be able to put yourself with one to go,
Starting point is 00:53:08 you're leading case, you know, it usually happens into three, right? So if you get a good run, you have the lead by then or off or two, you know, those two situations start to gang up with one to go. So it's usually, you're seeing it happen one lap before now because you need to put yourself in that position. We say out of that too, though, and let's not take out of the equation, the points situation for Rajah at that moment, right? So as bad as that was, this could have been even worse had he not made his way into the chase. But if you're in second, and I agree with what you're saying, you've got to make that move a little bit earlier to guarantee yourself if the caution comes out.
Starting point is 00:53:48 But if I'm sitting in second and I know that's going to get me into the chase and I want to win my first race, in my head, I'm calculating it off turn four. I'll take the chance that we don't get to turn four in that moment, knowing that the bigger thing is going to be making sure we get into the chase also and don't run the risk with the trouble everybody else has had. They're, you know, just, you see all those, hey, Roger, you see all those cars in the, you see all those cars in the circle there when you pulled up. I'm sure there was, there's a meeting, you know, was a meeting. Hi, Roger. That was going on and I guarantee you that will not happen if the three of them have control.
Starting point is 00:54:25 How can you guarantee it? They do it every fucking time. Roger. I wish you could. say I guarantee it, but literally their cars are so fast, they're in control of all, I mean, the one year, I forget who was driving, but it was like
Starting point is 00:54:43 they were the top four. It was five. And they started fucking fucking there was ringing. There was never four cars when I drove here. I think three was the most we ever had. It's like, you just have to wait till the last lap because if you at least crash,
Starting point is 00:55:00 one of you still win. Instead, you have a restart. And then, you know, all hell breaks losing that too. So, but I still think he was waiting for the last last. Yeah, he was. I still believe that. Yeah, 100%. And I don't see us talking about this,
Starting point is 00:55:13 since we're on this. Who's going to win that championship now? With everything that's been going on. You think? Yes. He'll have it locked up before Homestead. You think. Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:22 All right. Depends on how the meetings go this week. Is it going to be nervous or what? I don't know. I think Rodney and Quaple are. I think Carson could have something to say about it. The way they're running right now and with him gaining the confidence
Starting point is 00:55:39 and getting those couple wins, but championship still goes through Justin. There's no way it does. There's only one person that can be Justin O'Gar for the championship. Don't say it. It's just a longer. And now he's never going to come on in the show again. He won't talk to us now. He took a bat to the kneecap, though, in
Starting point is 00:55:57 terms of points advantage. I mean, like, he went from what? He went to Danny. Well, no, Justin was up like three races, I think. Yeah, he was up like. It was ridiculous. Now, that one wasn't so much owner's points. There's a couple, a little bit of movement, the owner points there.
Starting point is 00:56:12 But you want to talk about that, how much more we're talking about with trucks. Trucks was like, we never talked about it. We're talking about right now, stupid. But I don't know. We don't have it. It's not on here. God damn it. It was half the truck field is owners is in.
Starting point is 00:56:27 And so talk about why that's important because obviously it's the money goes to the owners. The trucks are a little bit different, I think. I think it's 50. with the trucks. I'm not, I'm pretty sure that is. But still, I hate that, I don't hate it. I just, I don't like that they don't give those teams and enough credit of what's going on during the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Because they're in the playoffs. I mean, the Spire Trucks are in the playoffs, right? Who else? Because we don't have paperwork, but it was the Spire Trucks. It was somebody else. Yeah, I don't know who those. But there was, I think, four or five trucks. We're in owners, but not in drivers, obviously.
Starting point is 00:57:05 So, like, guys like... So it's really talking about drivers that really aren't in the playoffs. Yeah. Essentially. Yeah. I mean, it's not... They're not really in the playoffs. It's the trucks, right?
Starting point is 00:57:16 It's the teams. Those are the... But they're going to talk about the drivers, not the... Well, now with the rule being the way it is, you know, they may have had cup drivers running in, like, the Spire 7 or 77 at some point. I think the one might be in there. Yeah. Now they can't have, you know, a full-time cup driver run these balance of the races.
Starting point is 00:57:35 So I think you'll see, like, Tristan McKee. You'll see a couple of like young guys with like, hey, you know, there's a little bit of pressure here. You can get teams some more money if you run well because we're in this owner's chase now. So that's a bit of a duality of a storyline. Yeah, I mean, it's a good storyline. It's just, you got to get these teams credit, man. They show up for a week every day as well, right? I mean, I got a simple brain. I get confused trying to figure out the driver points, much less all the rest of stuff. I mean, there's really, I stumble over my words when I'm talking There's 16 teams you need to talk about.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Yeah. I mean, truthfully. Yeah. While on the topic of driver points, Joey Legano, in ninth place and 65 points back is the last driver who could realistically win the championship. Spot on or spot off, Freddie. I'm going to say spot off. And I think the champion has to come from the top five. I mean, we've talked about the gap.
Starting point is 00:58:28 The points can swing in a hurry. Like we've seen it this year with that 15. bonus for winning. If somebody goes on a run and wins a bunch of races, yes, he can absolutely make that up. Lugano made it up because we sat here talking to him that day. We talked about he's going to all of the racetracks that their cars run good at and he runs good at. And that's why he made that ground up because flat miles, short tracks, that was their bread and butter. We're going back to a mile and a half now. And I don't think Lugano's making up 70 points on Danny or 65 points on Denny. I think it's going to
Starting point is 00:59:02 to come. It's going to come from the top five. Chase Briscoe is a guy that could turn it on. Like he's come from last and points to fifth. Ty Gibbs is somebody like the Toyota's going to be strong, I think, at mile and halves. And the, that's half the playoffs now. So like that's, I think that's where you kind of focus on. I don't see anybody coming from outside of top five to, to win the championship. I would put it at top six. And that's purely because Christopher Bell's sitting there in sixth. And, and he's got, I believe, can get hot. And he could jump up through there. But beyond that, I mean, you know, you got Larson 7th, Elliott. I want someone to go on a heater, man. I want someone to go on a heater. But who's going to go on a heater? I don't know,
Starting point is 00:59:41 somebody. I think that heater's going to come from that top six, though, when it does. I just, you know, I get a little nervous because the, you know, the Chevy's really just haven't shown the ability to have the pace all year long. And I know Kyle's had some really good races and Chase has won a couple times. But it just hasn't gotten any better. You want to see a little progress with where it's at and it just hasn't. Are they waiting? Are they waiting for the playoffs? Who would challenge you? I think that he wins. I hope. I mean, the team deserves it. I mean, but look, you've got to execute, right? I mean, you've seen a lot of sticking ball and football teams be the best going into the playoffs and not winning at all. So, um,
Starting point is 01:00:25 I don't know. I wish did they take their foot off the gas the last two, three weeks? Is it going to hurt the momentum? I don't know. Denny's not talking like it, right? I mean, he's talking like he's pissed at Darlington the last couple races, right? You can tell he's in his mind he's like, yeah, I've sucked there the last couple races. I'm not going to suck this week, right? So we'll see, man. But I do think someone's going to go on a heater out of the top five. six and make make a show of it. My gut tells me it's Denny's year and I think his his ability to process things right in real time and his ability to just go out there on every type of racetrack maybe throw the road courses out but there's none of those in the in the chase this year.
Starting point is 01:01:13 His ability to go out on every type of race track and whether it's a good day or a bad day we've seen in the past couple weeks where they've maybe you know had some of the problems and had had some races where it's like oh man he's going to finish 20th today. he still finds a way to be in the top seven. I just think he's got everything put together. This point structure really plays favor to him, in my opinion. If I wanted to second guess myself, the guy that I've just passed a little bit here
Starting point is 01:01:42 and the team that I think can also maybe match them step for step right now would be Chase Briscoe. And that's just based on the tracks that are coming up and how the Chase is going to play out from that standpoint. But they've shown that. same consistency here as of late. And when you think about how bad Chase Briscoe's year started off to even be in that conversation to have gotten himself in the top five in points, there was a period back.
Starting point is 01:02:06 And it was early in the season. I want to say it was, heck, it might have been like after Vegas or Phoenix or something like that. You're looking. And you're thinking he might not even make the playoffs no matter how good or the Chase, no matter how good he does. I think it was three. We were talking about him not making the playoff.
Starting point is 01:02:20 The first, one of the first, like week five of the show that on the show sheet was like, can anybody ever catch Redick? Can Briscoe make the shit play? So I'm like, now they're fourth and fifth of points. Brisco caught Redick. I think talking about Reddick, this is a perfect time for him to reset because obviously they've been bleeding for a month,
Starting point is 01:02:43 two months, I don't even know. But it's making a break it this week for him. This is one of his best racetracks. He could be the guy that just turns it up and goes on the heater, but it has to start this week. If he goes, just knowing him and his mindset sometimes, he can go to Darlington and win the race easily.
Starting point is 01:03:01 You know, he did it. He won the first race there. But if he performs well this week, I think it catapults him right back into the playoff, I mean the championship conversation, if he goes and struggles this week, it's going to continue to fade like it has been the last couple weeks. You show the 10 races that we have to run.
Starting point is 01:03:20 There are, in my eyes, there are three drivers that are good at every, every one of those tracks. That's Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, and Christopher Bell. Like those are the three, you know, you know, Brisco struggles at certain places, Reddick struggles at certain places, but those three drivers are really good at all 10 of these races coming up.
Starting point is 01:03:42 It's all about the team, right, what they're going to do for those three drivers, in my opinion. But I still want to see someone come out of that top six, you know, that's further away, go on a heater. I hope. Who's going to be the biggest gainer in the playoffs? I think you got a good chance. I think he's probably not too far behind those three guys of being good at all those racetracks, in my opinion.
Starting point is 01:04:11 I mean, I really think he's just got to get his shit together now. Come on, Bubba. Somebody sent me a picture, and I wanted to puke last week. It was like just how roller coaster we've been. It's third, 25th. Second, 25th, 6th, 25th. It's like just the last two months, three months, it's just been... And I like this, you know, Byron's good.
Starting point is 01:04:31 Chase is good, but like you said, Regan, it just, I don't think they're strong enough this year to win the championship. I just, there's too many good teams right now. That top six, right, is so stacked. I literally can make an argument for any one of those guys. I can sit here and I can argue and debate with anybody about any of those six guys. to answer your question, though, and something else we haven't mentioned either, though, is it could come down to the team as well. And when I say the team, Pit Road is going to play a factor in this championship at some point.
Starting point is 01:05:04 So there's a couple of those guys up there. I get nervous about the Pitt Road stuff. And, you know, we've beat Blaney's guys to death all year long. But is that going to rear its ugly head again, or is it going to be clean for 10 straight weeks? And to answer the question about who's got the best chance to jump up through, I agree with Tommy. I actually, you know, I look at where Bubba's. sitting in points, right? And the performance that those cars have had, and I think they've got a chance to, you know, if you guys have a chance to jump your way up through, well, I wasn't
Starting point is 01:05:34 counting the spot. When I said team, I wasn't even thinking spotters, but that's going to, that'll change it a little bit. Yeah, you change your mind. I know I said earlier, you know, about seeing and pre's winning that this sport just has a way of like naturally working things out. And I agree, I think it's Denny's ear. I, if I had to, you know, just say that this just seems like the stars are going to align for him and it's finally going to happen. This seems like it. If I had to pick someone to go on a run, I would go with Bush, or even though he has no wins, no stage wins this year, but like that team randomly gets hot at random times. And it was kind of middle to late of two years ago. But he's not good at all those racetracks, right? He's not, he can go on a couple. He just,
Starting point is 01:06:11 Donaldton is a very good chance for all three of those RFK guys to win. They got really good setups there. I mean, it's, but is he good at Martinsville? No. I mean, you know, is he, I don't know. I just think it's going to take the guys that are really good everywhere to make up for maybe some mistakes, right? Maybe make up for some pit mistakes, right? I mean, yeah, you mentioned. I mean, I think they said at New Hampshire, I think the 12 car is what, minus 100? 150.
Starting point is 01:06:41 128? I didn't think it could get worse than our part of the season. And it's like, it's continued to. I'd look at those stats. But it's going to take a really good race car driver at all. all those places to be in the thick of it. It's going to take the whole thing. I'm not picking Danny because I pick the fucking guy every year.
Starting point is 01:07:01 And he doesn't win so. Fuck. You hope. Spot on, spot off. Jimmy Johnson says, merch numbers don't lie in response to NASCAR. Does everyone hate Carson Host of our email? Hey,
Starting point is 01:07:12 you see, we got mentioned in the email. The door bumper clear was in the NASCAR email. What did say? I think it was, Dalton, it was a reference or something Kyle said last week. said that, like, when he was on TV, when he spun, he was like, that was a thousand percent on purpose or whatever when Larson said that.
Starting point is 01:07:29 So I'm just happy. I just want to bring it up because we got mentioned in an NASCAR email. I was doing it. I really didn't want to talk about Carson this week. But, I mean, the fact that they mentioned us in the email, I think, is just that's all we really care about. But, I mean, this is what we talk about. Good for him.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Like, he's building a brand. You can build a brand and still be a little more focused on what you got to do, I think. Maybe since he got that girlfriend. You're blaming on that. By the way, I mentioned Jimmy Johnson very cool to see the 48 car rolling around a racetrack
Starting point is 01:07:58 before the race the other day. That's that kind of, I mean, that's going to be bad. You have to celebrate that type of stuff, man. I mean, I mean, how can you not, right? I mean, that's, he's one of the guys, man.
Starting point is 01:08:12 Car looks good, too. Let's celebrate the shit out of Jimmy Johnson, man. Yeah. All right, DBC fans. It's time to react. All right, time for reaction theater where fans can call in and voice their opinion from this weekend's race. Let's hear from you. The fans' best reactions make the final show.
Starting point is 01:08:37 So let's see what we got. Man, just call me penis because I am punked still almost two hours after the checker flag falls. Baby, that's what I'm talking about. It's hard to be flaccid with an RFK win, baby. That's what I'm fucking talking about. Thanks for calling, Ryan. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Somehow we don't know where to start with that. We always go down the same avenues on this show, I feel like. I might use that, actually. That was pretty good. I am pumped. I was pumped after that, right? I'm pissed off last week. We didn't get as good Larson.
Starting point is 01:09:16 No hate. No, it's just, I mean, they do it weekly. And the guy was, we had an opportunity to just really zingle, man. You just really want to get his. Because he don't pay it. He don't listen money. You know, I think. They listen more than they say.
Starting point is 01:09:30 They do? Nobody listens until you mention them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And people say Connecticut guys can't try. Let's go, Ryan Preece. That might have been Matt Preece. That was his brother. Them some bitches are on I-95 in Stanford, Stanford Airy.
Starting point is 01:09:47 God almighty, it's a mess. I think that guy forgot Joey Lugano's from Connecticut. Yeah. I really appreciate NASCAR's tribute to the late Great Dolly Parton. the biggest boob in the series had the biggest hit of the night. I think that was a host of our dig. Yeah, that was a hard hit.
Starting point is 01:10:08 It was. Like, sometimes you don't really, like, usually, like, that front-end contact usually looks the worst. But when you have that right side pancake, that's, that was a hard hit. I was glad to see him get out. But even when Eric got the back, like, I remember when the back end of these cars didn't fold at all.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Yeah. I'm really thankful they made those changes because that would have been horrific. I was just sitting here thinking I didn't realize they did a tribute before the race. That's what I was trying to piece together in my mind. I was like, oh. How can you not? This call came in at Monday at 3.54 p.m. Can somebody tell Danny Hamlin the word is frustrated with a motherfucking R?
Starting point is 01:10:51 That goddamn guy keeps saying frustrated. And that fucking frustrates me. then he had the audacity to make fun of the people from the Northeast for dropping the R. That is goddamn frustrating, too. Eddie, he's, I love listening to Like Denny Show and Dale show because they just butcher the English language. And then he was making fun in New Englanders. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:16 It's frustrating. It's frustrating. It's frustrating. Frustrating. Denny. Those midweek calls are some of my favorites. What's Dale's word? Gosh, he's got a thimal.
Starting point is 01:11:28 He's got his own word? He says, he's got a lot of his own words. When he tries to say manipulate, he goes, munipulate. There's a you. There's so many. I mean, there's just so many. Does anybody know why my Walmart is completely sold out of toasters?
Starting point is 01:11:44 Anybody? Because I have no idea. I can tell you, the guy got hooked in the fence last night. Geez. As a wife, one ran a seat fan. I was just about to renew my subscription on toasters for the rest of the season. Until Friday night. Let's fucking go.
Starting point is 01:12:06 39. 39. Or 38. 38. 38. Whatever. Whatever you are. Congrats, Ryan.
Starting point is 01:12:16 That might have been stretched, Danny. Danny, so Danny's, like, been Rod's right-hand man for a long time. I think that was him. That called it, too. That was my last one. to send me, what the hell was that sponsor that was on their car a month ago? Oh, the like butt face thing? He's like, I need your address.
Starting point is 01:12:34 I'm going to send you some butt faces. To leave an audio message 24-7, call our number, 704, 802, 95-72. We'll play the best ones each week on the show, so make them good. All right. Now, time of a shit show, Hall of Fame. Big thank you to Flo for providing us with the footage to react to. You can watch all these and save 15% on your subscription by using the link flowsports. link slash door bumper clear to sign up.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Jesus. I don't know where this one's going, but this guy just that does start. Oh, my gosh. The guy's in the woods. Whoa. Oh, who is that? Oh, man, under them concrete. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:13:17 They need to move those. It's that silver dollar that's Steel Powell going for that wild ride. Silver dollar. Wow. Silver dollar was my, I mean, I wouldn't show if he was. Yeah. Is he everything okay? That's my favorite track in the, uh, God, 2001, uh, Dirk.
Starting point is 01:13:31 What was a world outlaws game? Were those barriers? That was just like broken up old barriers, right? Old chunks of concrete. Oh, I could be wrong. I heard those were like styrofoam or something, not full concrete. It might be styrofoam. Starrofoam?
Starting point is 01:13:43 Yeah, okay. Because I saw somebody hit the, like, was it, who was leading? Was it Jet, Yantis? Yeah. Was leading and hit a big styrofoam block off a four? Okay. That makes me feel better because I, yeah. First glance when I looked at, I'm like, oh my gosh, that's concrete.
Starting point is 01:13:57 All right, next one. Next one is also a silver dollar. I was busy this week. Oof. Oh, they don't stop that grid on dirt. They don't stop that good on dirt. Oh, Gio got stuffed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Who was that? Who got them? I couldn't tell. Is that the X? Nope. They had some pretty big ones all week at Silver Dollar. Damn. It was hard to pick one from Silver Dollar.
Starting point is 01:14:21 There was like... He just going to the Silver Dollar flow. Yeah. At SD Speedway or Flow racing. You could probably see all this. Oh, I got... There's one shit show I want to be able to talk about it. A USAC's Smackdown flip into the fence.
Starting point is 01:14:36 I think Carson was here. Maybe that's where she's... Oh, Jesus. Oh, my, look. I thought I was watching the wrong guy. Yeah. This guy's in the fence. I was watching that yellow car flip,
Starting point is 01:14:47 and then somebody else came flipping into the tree. What happened? I think he jumped that. He jumped the wall. Yeah. Oh, my Lord. That's a bad night. He's probably saw Carson in the grandstands and just drove straight in the fence.
Starting point is 01:15:00 Looking like a chili bowl there with the cars hanging off of the fence. Oh. It's like stuck to landing. Three wrecks at once. And then NASCAR Modified Tour was back at Stafford. And the start of the race. This fucking Justin's going.
Starting point is 01:15:15 What was he doing? He's a champion. I mean, what is wrong with Justin? He just hasn't been racing enough. I think he's just not used to leading him or something. What is wrong with him? What was he doing, Frassie? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:15:32 Is he okay? I didn't even know that. I think he needs to go retire or something, man. He is old now. Yeah, he's getting it. He said he's 40, right? What was he thinking? There's no way he's 40.
Starting point is 01:15:43 Yeah. Is he really? Yeah, he needs to give it up. Oh, geez. I mean, took the whole, every leader, every point leader. He took the point leader out. Maybe Eberling.
Starting point is 01:15:52 Maybe Eberling paid him. He's racing part time and look, takes, oh my God. Look like he just got on the race and it plowed into one. He needs to take another profession. But it didn't look like he overdrove it either. No, it's the odd part. He just went straight. He's not used to those tires.
Starting point is 01:16:08 Weren't they his idea? Yeah. He tested. He did all the testing and said they were perfect. Guy, poor Justin. Poor fucking beers. Hartwig, McCanady, Kobe.
Starting point is 01:16:22 Copsick. 60 got nose damage. He wrecked half the field on a start of the race. He needs to pick something else. It just go run for a while. Yeah, something. You need to get back in track or something. You can catch all these that we've been talking about,
Starting point is 01:16:38 either on the Flow Racing X handle or if you want to see the video portion of our show, they'll be embedded in there as well. If you find a shit show out in the wild, tag us, send it our way on social media so that we could have a laugh along with you. And all kidding aside, Justin is our friend. We were just breaking balls.
Starting point is 01:16:53 No, I'm not. No, you're serious? That no driving. That no driving motherfucker. All right, time for Ask, DBC. We kind of touched on this a little bit earlier, but Regan, which race are you more excited for? Either Bristol or Charlotte,
Starting point is 01:17:16 and then which one are you more nervous for? Or both. Both. Both. It's nervous energy. I'm only going to say Bristol right now because it's the first one. So, yeah, three weeks to get ready.
Starting point is 01:17:28 I did, I walked down to the gym the other day. I looked at it. It looked good. I didn't really utilize it much. You can't even Sim. They don't even have a gym. You can't even get in a truck yet. Why not just go full cold turkey?
Starting point is 01:17:43 If I'm going to do it. Go all right. You don't have SIM. You can't even go in it yet. You and Tommy have worked together for a while, raised for him for a while. So what kind of Tommy stories you got for us? Other than the labor story.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Yeah. I can't do the labor story. My favorite is just the blowups on the radio. The blowups were good, but my favorite blowup was Martinsville. Who was crew chief? Was he crew chief when you drove? That one I was, yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Were you officially crew chief on that one? Yeah. What's the end I was doing? Yeah. Todd, we'd gotten bumped out of the way by somebody and, I mean, it wasn't even,
Starting point is 01:18:21 it couldn't have been a half a second after I got bumped out of the way and Tommy's on the radio just screaming. And I just finally came on the rim. I'm like, got it under control, Tommy. Come down. Was he under control? Was he driving with Stenhouse?
Starting point is 01:18:35 That's that house to bucking. Oh, yeah. That was that one. That was that one. Yeah. I was, I don't know how he got to the button as quick as he did to start. I was sitting right there.
Starting point is 01:18:44 I knew it was going to happen. Doug's still spotting. And then Tommy's, he must have, usually the spotter has the override over everybody. Not in that car. Tommy had the override over everybody. On there, Mike Hervin,
Starting point is 01:18:56 his girlfriend, Kelly, we had that scores tower in, Martinsville that we could sit in and the families can sit in. So Tommy's always up there watching a race. So I was spotting for Michael in the seven and race is ending whenever we get home. We go out to dinner that week. And Kelly's like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Thank God. Tommy isn't yelling on the radio like he is in the suite. And I was like, no, no, that was all on the radio. The best part is you can look at Tommy. He's not capable of talking about it. No, I don't have anything, anything having to do with Luke. I don't have, I can't have, I don't do push. to talk.
Starting point is 01:19:36 Nothing wrong with that. My favorite part, though, is when you bring those stories up, I could watch Tommy's facial expression, and he still gets just as mad now. 10 years later, Jack Rouse called me like on a Wednesday or Thursday. He's like, Tommy, you know, I know we got some
Starting point is 01:19:51 situations, but, you know, we can, I'm going to, you know, we have, I'm like, let me tell you something, Jack. I will bring, I got a bunch of junk in my garage shop. I will bring six fucking cars, all my used engines, and none of your cars will finish a fucking race if that kid touches
Starting point is 01:20:05 my car again. Do you understand? And he was like, oh, I guess we're on the same page. Yeah, we're on the same page. We had Ricky here last year. And as soon as he sat down and he's like, why the fuck did you wreck my shit, right? Oh, it went on. He didn't even wreck us, though. Yes, he did. He moved us out of the way.
Starting point is 01:20:23 We were in the fucking lead lap and he caused us a lap. We were still in the lead lap. Right. I agree with that. They, uh, it was that, that lasted so long. That cost me Did it cost me a him? It cost him $15,000 at Martin Truex's
Starting point is 01:20:40 auction there. That's great. For a fucking paddleboard. Yeah, because we were going back. We're in the back to the room. I remember that year. I remember thinking who the hell is bitten on these right now. Yeah, it was me and him because we weren't going to let each other.
Starting point is 01:20:55 We finally was like, you know what? That's up enough. One last thing from MassDBC. Jesse Consos, hopefully I said your name right. Birthday shout out. Happy birthday, Jesse. Happy birthday. Who is it?
Starting point is 01:21:07 He asked for a shutout. Oh, all right. Happy birthday, Jeffrey. His name is Jesse. It's close. Oh, Jesse. Fucking best. I can see now.
Starting point is 01:21:19 Not only when we do weekend winners, now we're going to do birthdays. Here we go. All right. Time of DBC picks. I won. We reset. I won. We reset.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I won last week. Did you? Hell yeah. Stand house. Oh, fuck. can set out. Magic Mike. Magic Mike, baby. Damn, we got a ways to go to catch Carson.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Fucking, hey, how the hell should you get 10 wins? Carson picks first, which will be Eric. Oh, yeah. You pick for Darlington. You got the whole field. Who do you want? I'm going to go with Reddick. You get to pick.
Starting point is 01:21:56 Oh, I get to go second? You get to go second. Oh, man. I mean, listen, I said it earlier. I'll go with it. Let's, uh, yeah. Let's go brisco We'll go briscoe
Starting point is 01:22:12 I'm going to go Brad Kesslowski I'm going to go Denny Hamlet That's a decent pick That's one I was torn on I was getting ready to do it I think he's going to start off pretty strong Kind of fun with the reset
Starting point is 01:22:29 Like you've got everyone Yeah yeah Tommy last year He didn't know he reset for the playoffs And he was saving fucking SVG the whole season I go I was going to attempt the week before to get us. I had it all planned.
Starting point is 01:22:43 So can you only be, you can only pick one time a year, but we reset for the playoffs. All right, just like we did last week, we figured we bring in a weekend winner and this one is a good one. I think he's covering the bar tab for us for the next few weeks. He picked up a pretty good paycheck at the Gold Cup at High Limit. We welcome to the program now, Rico Abreu.
Starting point is 01:22:59 Hey, Rico, how's it going? Good. Thank you guys for having me on. I'm glad you got up so early just to hang out with us this morning. I appreciate you. Hey, as I've gotten older here, I look forward to getting up a little earlier and having some coffee and getting into the gym sessions. Yeah. It used to be, used to be some late nights with this dirt racing world, but I feel like you've tamed it down just a little bit. Yeah, just, you know, it's, it comes with age, like a fine wine.
Starting point is 01:23:28 It just, like, gets better. Is that an Abreu Vineyards plug there? Not sure I hit all my sponsor parts. take me through the weekend, man. Obviously, big win for you. Actually, obviously, you know, at West, a big deal. But 100 grand and a really prestigious race you won it. This is a third time, right?
Starting point is 01:23:48 Yes. You know, 10 years ago, I won the Gold Cup. And I really, you know, growing up as a sprint car driver, starting in 2011, you know, Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California was one of the tracks that I really went to all often and raced at and just really cut my teeth at a young age race. racing there and learning how to race on short tracks, you know, around the Kyle Larson's, the Tim Catings, Jonathan Allard, Sean Becker's, just some incredible California West Coast racers. And, you know, coming back, you know, over the last few years, you know, what the
Starting point is 01:24:23 Gold Cup, you know, it was originally a ward of outlaw race, a $50,000 to win race. And, you know, it kind of plateaued and fell off the map. And as Brad and Kyle have taken over Silver Dollar Speedway, just the event. has grown incredibly and has created some great energy. And Saturday night was a big, big one. You know, now $100,000 to win. And you get all the best West Coast racers, high limit. It's in town.
Starting point is 01:24:50 And the camping was packed. You know, it really feels like a crown jewel event. Like when we come into Knoxville Raceway, Eldora, you know, and you get those feelings of, man, this is really serious. And, you know, 40 laps. And it was just an unbelievable racetrack. and we got a nice caution or red flag there at the end of the race. My team was able to come out and adjust the car and kind of just flogged it around the top.
Starting point is 01:25:15 What's that mean to you to have this success now with Tony? I mean, obviously you've had an enormous success throughout your career, but now to do it with Tony, somebody that I know you've been really tied with for a long time. What's that mean for you now this year? Yeah. It's really cool. I was, you know, a little nervous in the beginning, just how the logistics of the partnership was really going to work.
Starting point is 01:25:37 But I was confident to know that I had the personnel and the guys. And that's really the backbone of these teams is the employees, the guys invested into making sure the car gets to the racetrack and is prepared. And when I sat down with Tony in August last year, I really spoke about those things and what, you know, has developed through the last decade of my career and how invested I am into my team and from the day to day stuff has really helped me communicate that to the race team and making sure they're bought in. And I think Tony really seen that. And Tony, you know, we go way back
Starting point is 01:26:18 to, you know, the early days of my career and him, you know, when I first started traveling to the Midwest, a kid coming from California, giving me a chance to stay with him and get to see his career there at the end, you know, the Cup series and him coming home late nights, frustration of the cup car, and then him coming home, excited, winning. And it was just, you know, we've had these, just this amazing relationship of that where it didn't really, you know, I, I try to be really transparent about it. But when I, when I lived with Tony, he, you know, I wasn't, you know, like a leech. I didn't, he didn't need me and I didn't need him. And we just had a very organic relationship. and, you know, I felt that that's what really connected us.
Starting point is 01:27:02 And I think that, you know, over the years of, you know, where his race team has gone and to see what a relationship we could bring together, when we came to racing, we had those discussions. And, you know, it was just, it was just really cool to put something together. And he was really excited about. And I love to see his excitement when we run well. Even when we're not running well, the conversations we have behind closed doors, I think is really important, you know, just because he's kind of been through it all. And he wants to win
Starting point is 01:27:32 races and he wants to win championships. And we have the same mentality. I know, you know, sprint car racing is your world and your life. But it seems like a really exciting time for the sport. You know, Fox is simulcasting a handful of races again this year. How do you gauge just the trajectory of sprint car racing right now? Because it looks like it is on the up and up. And it's been a lot of fun to watch. Yeah. I mean, it's, um, it's just really, exciting. The racing is what creates it all, right? And then you guys got guys like Kyle and Casey and these cup drivers that have come back and still invest in the sport. And you have two streaming outlets competing for media rights and two series, two national series now competing for racetracks and the best
Starting point is 01:28:17 drivers. And at the end of the day, we go to racetracks that provide great racing. And I think that's what the fans want to see. And, you know, high limits really elevated the sport, you know, going to events now and getting them in in a two-hour window and we're out of the racetrack at 930 on a Saturday night. And that just is like such a refreshing feel for a team, you know, like mine that puts in 14-hour days, you know, from Sunday to Saturday night. And it's just, it's just really cool to see where the sports going. And it's going in a, very healthy direction and people are invested into it. And you see Chase Briscoe getting involved now. And I know, um, you know, there's a lot of other interest in, you know, this, uh, I, I want to use
Starting point is 01:29:06 the word franchise or charter system that, you know, Brad and Kyle have created with high limit. But it's just very appealing. And there's, there's, uh, great integrity and value behind it all. And, um, you know, we're getting these FS1 races where flows putting us on Amazon Prime. Like, those are very interesting things for our sport and to get that notoriety and those eyeballs on our sport. And I just had a brand new partner, waste connections, like third largest recycling company in the world, you know, creating these partnerships with them and bringing, they have 25,000 employees. So we're bringing employees. We brought almost 1,000 employees to races. I've ran around 50 races this year. And over the 50 races, we brought almost 1,000
Starting point is 01:29:52 employees and they're all new to sprint car racing and they leave excited. I get to see them after the races. So I stay really balanced with, you know, no matter the highs and lows of racing. And it can be with sprint car racing because how competitive it is. But the fans always get to come down after the races and the access they have to us is what creates that excitement, you know, prior to the races, during the races and after the races. And I just think the sport has the spotlight on. And I just think the sport has the spotlight on it because of all those little things. Huge swing in the points the other night. You come out of there at the point lead.
Starting point is 01:30:28 I saw Wright's allowed some issues. Is it, when you go start this season, obviously defending champion high limit series, is anything less than a championship of disappointment for you this year? You know, the Kings Royal and the Knoxville Nationals were, were pretty hard on me afterwards. And to kind of navigate that, I was, you know, really where I feel my team. team is at the level right now to win those crown jewels. And those are really the two that, you know, I dream about every day. And as a young racer, I dream about, you know, just being in position to win those races. And we're getting really close. And to just execute at those events
Starting point is 01:31:09 have been quite difficult. And, you know, from last year, you know, racing, the last few years racing for a championship, you know, and the highs and lows that it brings and not getting caught up and chasing the points. And my crew chief, Ricky, you know, when he started, when we decided to go after the high limit championship, you know, he made some really good points to me just of his experience racing with Donny shots that, you know, we're only racing the guy ahead of us in points. And that's really who we worry about. And right now, you know, we're in a position where we can kind of control the pace of this
Starting point is 01:31:41 whole thing. And I think it's just, it's just important to finish these races no matter how bad it gets. And there's big fluctuations and inconsistency and results. as you guys see, you know, two weeks ago, I was eight points in the lead, and then I went to 65 points in third, and now we're 50 points ahead. So I really don't get worried about it. Last year, I was 140 points before the West Coast swing back to Brad and, you know, I think Tyler, and, you know, I came out of scadgett like 100 points ahead, and then we got to, you know, Texas there at the end of the year, and it was like a 40 points difference within, you know, 12 spots. So it's,
Starting point is 01:32:20 You know, it's just, it's hard to gauge it and hard to pace it. And I just think that it's important to finish these races and to win them and to still have that mentality of, you know, we got to win races and get those bonus points. I love it because I like the races end in that early because I'm old. I get to watch them during the week. It's a special advantage. Yeah. I'm telling you, we all look back and you see what Brad and Kyle have created here.
Starting point is 01:32:45 I said, you're going to see everybody evolve to this style of, you know, this two-hour window of in and out and, you know, people in bed at 930 and kids in bed back to school the next morning, back to work, you know, your blue collar workers, you know, getting up at 5.30 in the morning going to work, they don't want to be at midnight, you know, going to bed watching a feature at midnight and having to get up in five hours. Yeah. And Rico, I know you mentioned a little bit with your guys. You have three or four roadies, right, guys that are on the road with you. How many days of the year are you guys not home? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:33:21 All of them. Over 200 days a year. Is that crazy? Yeah. How many races are you going to end up this year? I think I'll end up like 75. Yeah, with about 10 rainouts, probably we're like 10 to 12 right now. So I had about 85, 86 on the schedule.
Starting point is 01:33:38 And, you know, I definitely lock in all the high limit races. And then the Word of Outlaw events that are appealing to us, you know, around that generate around the Crown Jewel races, El Dora Knoxville. You know, I think I'm going to do, I'd like to do world finals at the end of the year, the National Open. So it's an interesting life. And as I look through it all, you know, over the last few years of my career and how invested. And I knew that I'm at a point in my life being 34 years old, that I'm fully invested and
Starting point is 01:34:11 engulfed myself into sprint car racing and my team and my four guys that work on my car. You know, one coming from Tony Stewart racing, Todd Devinich, who, you know, has worked for in the Cup series and the Xfinity series for many years in the past that has a great relationship with Ricky Warner, my crew chief, and Zach Middlebrook's, Brady Fourbrook, you know, and just the whole TSR crew with even Misha, you know, just how invested they are into sprint car racing. And it's all they think about. It's all they worry about. They're up at 8 o'clock. They go to bed at 3 a.m. after the car washes, they're working on the race car. It's like very long days and very detail oriented to get a team to this level. And I just think that, you know, for me to be there along
Starting point is 01:34:59 the side of them is so important for team chemistry and just the leadership level of what it takes to win these championships. And I've seen Brad and Johnny Schatz and Steve Kinzer and just the investment they make into being these. unbelievable race car drivers, but leaders to the team. And it all starts at the top. And I think it's so important when you get to this level that these guys know that I'm just as bought in. And yeah, we just kind of ride the waves together. And it's not pretty. I'm going to tell you, it's not pretty some days out on the road. And, you know, my wife and I and Toby Bellbone will get in the truck after the races and we'll drive four hours. And I'll not speak to anybody.
Starting point is 01:35:40 But I know that I got to, you know, I got to clean it up the next morning when I wake up. And to know that, you know, tomorrow's a new day and we have another chance to kind of be great again. More importantly, how's Gus? Where's he at? How's T-shirt sales going? He's right here in bed. We're in Roseburg, Oregon. So we're right here off of I-5. We're racing in Douglas County. Come here, Gus. Come here, Gus. Come say hi. We're racing in Douglas County Speedway tonight. So midweek. There he is. Gus got his own merch.
Starting point is 01:36:21 He's ready to rock. Gus has brought great balance to my life and the racing world. And we got pretty lucky with him and how nice he is to all the race fans. Hey, Rico, I'm curious. You talk about the grind and you talk about, you know, good days, bad days. But the other thing I hear in your voice as we're talking to you right now is it just sounds like you're having fun with it, too. Like, is there been a point in your career where you've had as much fun as you are right now? I've just really learned how to appreciate it all.
Starting point is 01:36:56 And to know, like, I've really tried to take my life and not allow, like, a poor result at the racetrack, like, affect my mentality. And it gets... Is Megan giving you a dirty look right now? I've got it. I've got to place, man. And I don't know. I just ride the wave, man. I got really good people around me.
Starting point is 01:37:20 And it's, I just try to enjoy the time with them. And I think that's the biggest thing. And racing is very hard. And you feel a lot better after you race well. And, you know, it's really difficult sometimes to balance the highs and lows it brings just because of how competitive I am and how I just know how invested people are into this program. And I need to make sure that it's, it's successful and I put a lot of pressure on myself. But, you know, I find balance at the gym and
Starting point is 01:37:51 my fitness and being around, you know, just really good people, my team. And, you know, I look for that kind of support system. And my best friend, you know, Ernest Onahue and my father and mother and my sister and brother and my wife and, you know, Toby Belbone from Sydney, Australia, Sprinkcarhub.com, you know, he travels all across the country with us and is invested into this program and making me look good on social media and we just have a good click on how it all works and I really just have worked towards, you know, honing in on perfecting all that. So it's, it's, it's, I see enjoy a minute in it and I just try to stay consistent. Man, congratulations. Obviously, big win this weekend. I will say go win the championship. Tyler will be upset with me for saying that, but,
Starting point is 01:38:39 but, uh, we're pulling for you, man. We got to get you in the studio. Eventually, I know you're going to come here. I think at the end of the year, we get a bunch of them. I want to come in. World final. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Well, see where the schedule lines up. Yeah. Come in, hang out for a little bit. But, man, we really appreciate you dropping in. Congratulations again. Well deserved. I mean, one of my favorite people in the entire racing world. So it was, it's good to catch up with you, brother. Thank you. You could watch him tonight, as well as all these winners.
Starting point is 01:39:07 We're about to shout out here across the flow platform. He got the big win at the Gold Cup. Also, Dylan Bloomfield won the Friday night race. That was his first. high limit win. Teddy Hodgdon won the Wheel of Modified Tour race at Stafford after we saw the big pile up in the opening up. Awesome. Good for him. I mean, he grew up racing the wild thing carts there, I think, you know, like that non-driver took out half the field. I was waiting for that. It was pretty good. I mean, Teddy, he was really good. He's always good there. Luke Fenhouse won the Allen Collickey Memorial at Slinger. Dylan Thornton was the Mars winner at Belclair. Tener English won Friday night at Benton.
Starting point is 01:39:44 and Shannon Babbin won Saturday night at I-55 Speedway. We saw one of the wrecks from the Smackdown at USAC. Justin Grant took the Saturday night win. Kail Coons won on Friday. Kyle Cummins Thursday. Nate Dussel got a first career All-Star win, and Caleb Henry was the Friday winner at Freedom. Jonathan Davenport won $50,000 Saturday night at Port Royal.
Starting point is 01:40:04 And Ricky Thornton, Jr. took the win on Friday night. Paul Nisheauer. Nine-hous. Nine-hous. Yeah, I'm going to butcher that. Neenheiser. I think it is, Neenheiser. Mean Heiser. Let the guy do his job.
Starting point is 01:40:15 He's pretty good at this. Well, he's pretty good. He's pretty good. He's a pretty good at the first fucking time. It takes two to get this right sometimes. Go ahead, Eric. Don't listen. IRA sprints at Jacksonville.
Starting point is 01:40:25 Justin Sanders, John, and Robbie Patrick. Justin Sanders. It's the John and Robbie Patrick. Sorry. There should have been a... There should have been... You know what? You want to know what time I wrote this fucking list?
Starting point is 01:40:37 Garchie's fucking say it. I thought it was like people. You already take over. No, Freddie bad. Take over. A fucking guy. Well, I was pointing out because it was my punctuation error. It's your turn.
Starting point is 01:40:49 It was Justin Sanders won the John and Robbie Padgett Classic at Chico. All right. Alex Pearl, second career SK Modified win at Stafford. Josh Wood won the late model race. I saw Michael Bennett fight everybody in the pit area. Nick Anglase won his 800th SK Light Race. Jeremy Levoy won the limited race. Jason Raymond won the street stock race.
Starting point is 01:41:08 Peyton Sellers swept the Sobo races this week. His 70th and 71st Career Wednesday. I think they said everything up there. I think they said that puts them like four or five behind, believe it or not, Philip Morris for the most for most career at Sobo. So that's a big deal. Our dad's races, mine finally got in, by the way. Mine is like kidding.
Starting point is 01:41:32 So there's a more. There's a more race for my dad and for Tommy's dad at Riverhead. The Baldwin race has been rained out at least 17 times in a row now. But they got my dad's race in the other day. the winners were Ryan Warren and Alan Peterson Ryan kind of got hosed afterwards but I'm going to consider it a win Vinnie Delaney won the crate modified race on Friday
Starting point is 01:41:52 Dave Brigaddy won the late models Riley O'Keefe won his 900th race in the legend cars this year Charles Sedano won the truck race and my boy Jared Hayes won the street stock race You don't want to expand on what happened how he got host?
Starting point is 01:42:04 So he like so the thing that really bothers me is so it was my dad's race My dad was number nine they run twin nine races, nine lap races because the figure eights can't run any more than that Latter, they'll fall apart. But I guess for the story I got was he's,
Starting point is 01:42:22 I'm assuming he was leading, somebody lost a muffler, they kind of slowed everybody down, checked every car, waved them by, said, you're good, then it was, I mean, I would assume it's pretty fucking obvious, which car doesn't have a muffler. Should build it here.
Starting point is 01:42:35 Yeah. And waved him on, continued the race. He won the race. They decued him afterwards for not having a muffler. So Alan Peterson technically swept both races but I'm going to give Ryan the credit for the win anyway.
Starting point is 01:42:51 Now all of those weekend winners we just rattled off are all events that you could have watched on Flow and again we've got high limit racing tonight by the time of this podcast drops. You can go to flow sports.com slash door bumper clear sign up and get your 15% off and as Rico mentioned if you want to preview tonight's race for high limit is also on Prime.
Starting point is 01:43:08 So if you want to just try before you buy this is a really good opportunity tonight. Some other weekend winners, World of Outlaws, Carson Macedo won Saturday. That was at Fixed Forward Speedway. Garrett Williamson won Friday at River Cities. On the World of Outlaws' late model side, Ethan Dodson took home the checkers Saturday night. That was at Shelby County. While Bobby Pierce won at Adams County Speedway on Friday.
Starting point is 01:43:27 Keelan Harvick won what was a very wild super late model ASA race in a wasaw midweek. They only had 14, 15 cars, and they wrecked about all but three of them. Boris Juerkovick won the Ed Hoffman Memorial. and at Wall, Timmy Salamito took home the John Blewett, the third memorial. I mean, what an event. I mean, the way they promoted that race and then I saw Timmy ship poor Emerling somewhere to, he was in. There was a lot of shipping the last 20, 30 last.
Starting point is 01:43:54 I do want to give a shout to James Blewett. He led, I mean, the majority. He's got to learn how to shift. Well, yeah, Timmy thought, I didn't go back yet to go watch it, but Timmy said he didn't think he prepped his tires. Yeah, one time he didn't, yeah. That's how he kind of lost control of race. But he ended up top five, right?
Starting point is 01:44:10 I think he finished fifth. He was trying to start in high gear. But yeah, but I mean, shout to him. But yeah, Timmy text me. I texted him, you go to Wall. He said, yeah. He said, I hope I'm good. I said, it's like riding a bike, bro.
Starting point is 01:44:19 You'll be fine. He's always good there. Yeah. But I mean, Wall Stadium, obviously, special place for you. I'm 90% sure I'm going to be back for Turkey. Are you sure this year? You've been telling me that for 10 fucking years. I'm pretty sure I'm going.
Starting point is 01:44:30 So I'll know for sure. I just can't drink too much on Thanksgiving. What does that have to do with it? That's when he leaves. Also at Wall, Pauley Hartwig, the third, won the sportsman. Johnny Carpenter, factory stock, Mike Alcaro legend. Oxford 250 this weekend. I think they ran late because of rain.
Starting point is 01:44:48 There's a lot of rain. Brandon Barker got the win there. Shout out Mike Perniciglio for his Nima win this past weekend as well. Jackson Moorside and the mods, Rick Spalding, Jimmy Childs, Kyle Richardson, and Christina Nadeu, PJ Sturgios. Did I say that right? Yeah. Cool.
Starting point is 01:45:03 Randy Cabral. I messed that one up. How do you not know Randy Cabrero? Jesus Christ. Jaga Perry and Brendan Carran. They were the rest of the winners at Oxford weekend. I couldn't. There was too many fucking divisions to list them all.
Starting point is 01:45:14 Sorry. Tyler Landis went three for three this weekend. Rich Sharp won the R.O.C. Streetstock race in Holland. Generstown winners were Kyle Burkultz pro stocks. Dave Glessner modifides. Levi Yetter wins the country roads 100. Carter Krameth Jr.
Starting point is 01:45:29 won the late model championship at Sawball Speedway. Nick Lascusa won the pro-stock race. I think they're, I think C-Con does a chase kind of format. They said that was the first race of the chase. Craig Van Doren wins at Grandview shortly after his father's passing.
Starting point is 01:45:45 So it's a big weekend for him, big race for him. Jeffrey, I always call him Jeremy. Shackleford won the one hour figure eight race at the Speed Drum this week. Jordan Lane won a tri-county. Scott Rigglement, a buddy of ours, won the factory stock race at Evergreen. He was stuck in...
Starting point is 01:45:59 I saw he was trying to get place. He was in the Keys. Then he was stuck for three days in Fort Lauderdale. It's like... Look at his time. timeline like he's not even going to make it to the race this weekend. Well, he made it the one ever good. They always have a, him and his wife, they always end up somehow down in the keys.
Starting point is 01:46:15 Yeah. And then they end up lost. Well, that's easy to do. That's easy to do it. Casey Coffey got his first big block win this week. Kevin Woody won at Linda Speedway. Gabe Brown won the ACT 125 at Oxford. Andrew Brousseau won the 81 lap memorial race for his dad.
Starting point is 01:46:35 Anthony Flannery won the SK race at Speed Bowl Nicholas Hovey won at Speedball I assume it was a great car Luke Thomas buddy of ours won the senior Honda race at the Garden State Quarter Major Club and Mason Metzker won at Kalamazoo he won the Kalamazooleauzeu late model championship
Starting point is 01:46:52 That's a lot of winners man It's good it's fun We got more, we're showing more right on our thing right There's more so there's going to be more Obviously I just there's too many to read it sometimes It's awesome no it's awesome I'm glad you guys send them all in and we kind of trim it down here and there. But the list will be somewhere over here.
Starting point is 01:47:10 I think it's probably over by now, but it's usually in this area right here. And then we have a graphic that we put also as well. But yeah, that's kind of my favorite part of the show. Anyway, what we got going on this week, Tom? Let's see. Both kids are running the cars tour at Florence and then Carteret on Saturday with the smart tour. So busy week. Eric?
Starting point is 01:47:31 I'll be at Florence Friday night. really it's going to be a lot of cool storylines on that entry list. So another reason to sign up for Flow if you can't make it to Florence. We're right up against the Darlington weekend. So there's going to be some really cool names on that entry list when it comes out. Get on the plane Saturday to go to DeCoyne where we race up against the Southern 500. Thanks Fairboard for that one. So that's the plan.
Starting point is 01:47:55 Regan aside from fantasy football week, you're going golfing it all this week? Big night tonight, right? Big night. This is in his glory this week with this. How many years is this? On the fantasy? Man, that's been, this thing's been going on, 15 years probably.
Starting point is 01:48:10 I'm guaranteed you, Doug Campbell be the drunkest person at the draft. Again. Like, it's, I'll never forget. Quick story. I'm driving. Tommy, obviously, always around the same time of the year.
Starting point is 01:48:23 What I however many years ago was, you told us you had cancer. So everybody's kind of, you know, obviously not really thrilled about it. And poor Allen Hart, I decided I was going to drive. that night. So Doug and Alan, I said, I'll give you guys a ride home. They lived right by each other. Yeah, they lived like, you're in the back of the car.
Starting point is 01:48:44 Very upset that you're sick. And Doug is just going, Alan, shut the fuck. And I'm like, let the guy have a money. He's upset. Doug, Doug doesn't, he's not very emotional in that way. I don't know if everybody realizes. The whole ride home, I was like, I can't believe Tommy. He's saying, Oh, shut the fuck. That was a fun draft that year. You picked a bad year to not drink that here. Yeah, no shit. Here's the problem.
Starting point is 01:49:10 I got to be at the colleague at 10 o'clock tomorrow. So we'll have to see how the draft goes tonight. You live in the same house? I don't even like, I mean, you change them often. Yeah, he does. We've been stuck in this one for a little while.
Starting point is 01:49:25 We'll see. Next draft we might have a golf. We got golf this week. No, off weekend for that. So first time and, I think we're on a run of like 12 straight weekends that he's had that there's been tournaments. So my youngest turns four this weekend. So I'm going to celebrate him.
Starting point is 01:49:39 Big party. Nice. Yeah, I don't know what the hell I'm doing this weekend. I'll be at Regan's tonight drafting. And we got my pool, I think, Wednesday night. So it'll be a fun movie. What do you mean this weekend? You got Donald?
Starting point is 01:49:50 No, I'm saying this week. I heard weekend too. I was like, you got to work this weekend. Anyway, you got three. All three race, right? Yeah. I'll be heading. No.
Starting point is 01:50:00 Don't know. No, trucks don't race on. I'll head down Saturday morning, I think. Thank you guys for listening, Regan. Thank you for jumping in here again with us. Always a fun time. We will be back next week with McMurray, I think. Is that right?
Starting point is 01:50:14 Yeah, McMurray will be back here next week with us. Hopefully he keeps his pants on. We will see you guys then. We're out. See you. Check out Dirtymo Media on Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
