The following is a production of Dirty Mode Media.
Called me Frat Freddy the other day in a crew tech.
Or he just misspelled fat.
Either way, he can kiss my ass.
Let's fight, let's get it over with us.
Knock each other out and let's move on.
I think he's a whiny.
That's what I think.
Next thing you know, I got no firesuit on.
Routy Nation fans are getting lucky tonight.
You want to have gimmicks.
Let's go all out.
I would never, and here they come, never and like they never have before.
Right enough, you love them.
Hey, what's up everybody?
Welcome to Door Bumper Clear.
I'm Freddie Crafts, spotted for Bubba Wallace and Dean Thompson this week.
Thomas, I know you had a busy weekend.
A doubleheader.
Yeah, man, just got back.
You might have to change the number on that car.
Yeah, 7, 7.7.
We got 5, 7 places in a row.
Really?
Yeah.
I thought it was just two in a row for the weekend, but now you're racking them up.
A couple breaks here and there.
We possibly win on Saturday, no caution comes out.
And top five car yesterday, we just got.
shamboned eat a little bit
what went from fifth to third
in points so we had a
good average
how far out
28 it hasn't changed much
I mean you must be finishing right behind Justin
is Justin Leiden
or Austin
Austin is yeah Eric
Eric we ever call him Eric
yeah I got to the bar last night
and they're like did you guys
did you see Tommy was fighting again today
so I text him I was like
or I text our group actually I said Thomas
were you fighting?
today. And then they sent me the video
and he wasn't actually, that was nothing.
That was, no. Was it like a little scuffle?
No, not even a scuffle. They were like a little
talking. Talking. Raised voices.
Carson, how are you today?
Good. We got to go to the Hampton Heat this weekend.
We did? I didn't go. Well, we, me and
a couple cars store folks.
And we were slinging merch, met a lot of
DBC fans. So that was a good time.
Did somebody make a replica of the truck that you
drive down the road? Yes. So, uh,
At Jaron Fanday, the same person brought a replica of the Pace car, and I signed it and Dale signed it.
And I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
And I just had said, oh, it would be really cool if you, you know, did the truck that was the merch trailer truck and didn't think anything of it.
And he walked up to me this weekend at Langley and handed it to me and you would have thought it was like a million dollars.
It was like the coolest thing ever.
And then he came back and also gave Rochelle her own version of the Pacecar.
So those are proudly in my office now.
Speaking of a million dollars.
Oh, yeah.
How, Ty, how's things going?
It's going good, man.
It's been a good ride last couple weeks, having fun with it.
Ty Dalyland, obviously, driver of the number 10 for colleague, motor sport, colleague racing, sorry.
Been on a hell of a run here, buddy.
Man, it's been fun.
It's been a cool ride and just having fun with it, too.
You know, like I mentioned yesterday, like this part of the season for our team,
we're not getting a whole lot of pub, you know, typically in years past.
this in-season tournament has given us some focus to kind of show our personality, my personality,
and have fun with something that's a little different. The fans have really clinging on to it.
It's been a fun run with them, too, along this thing. So, man, I'm having a blast.
And I just, every weekend, I'm like, I can't believe it. We're just still kind of floating
and something big is going on here, and we're just going to keep riding it out.
Talk about the race yesterday. So I looked up early in the race you were out running, John Hunter,
by quite a bit, actually. And then, I don't know if the car go away or something.
somebody he he kind of flipped and he started getting a little distance on you i think we were running around
20 at 21st that first stage and uh we came down pit road after the stage in and we we lost like six or
seven spots and he came out right behind us he started on the outside and from that point on
we were then a spot for the rest of the race it was just so tough to pass and if you didn't get it
done early and we didn't really have the earlier on speed we were sold in the long run but didn't
really pay off good enough so um we we put ourselves back there and it was just like man one position
all day and denny got mad at me i think on the radio i saw that
Yeah, there was a situation where we came off pit road.
We beat him off pit road on the green flag stop, and he was right,
Denny was right behind me, but John Hunter was a lap down.
I was in front of Lucky Dog, and I had to race him hard there to kind of,
if caution comes out, we flip it, we're a lap ahead.
So, man, it was tough racing for our little spot back there 20, 21st.
Obviously, it's not where we want to be, but it meant something going into this week.
So it turned out pretty good there at the end.
We needed that rain delay.
It was getting pretty grim until the rain came out.
He was a pretty good few of five spots ahead of us before that.
when it came out, we were on equal tires and nailed the last restart.
Yeah.
I just, I said, I, I, I celebrated more than Joe, Joe White, the tie spotter.
The, the caution comes out as well.
It was actually the second caution after the rain delay.
I think it was.
And I'm, you know, we're just waiting a pit or whatever.
And I hear Lucky Dog 10.
And I was like, hell yeah.
I didn't even realize that was the case.
Like, you're so focused on just trying to be in the front of 42.
And he's like, hi, buddy, we got the lucky dog.
And I'm like, oh, no way.
All right, cool.
So, all right, boys.
We just need to make one laugh.
Just no more yellows.
That changed my focus instantly.
And, yeah, Joe's a pretty low-key guy, pretty chill.
And that last restart, I could hear in his voice, there was some like nerves and
excitement.
He was just like, don't screw anything up.
Like, don't mess it up.
Like, don't speed.
Don't do.
And so it was cool, man.
It all happened.
It probably didn't help that I was threatening his life all day.
I was like, you need to beat this 42 just for the podcast tomorrow.
Just so you know, everybody was kind of harping on it.
But talk about your year in general because I, you know,
We've talked about it on here.
You've had more speed than I think people expected,
and you've run really well.
I thought you were probably one speeding penalty away from winning Phoenix.
You know, just talk about the vibe in general over there
a colleague, racing.
Why do I keep saying motorsports?
That's all right.
As long as you're talking about us.
It's right there on his shirt.
You can read it right there.
I was going to watch it off TV.
You know, honestly, from last year, ran five races with the team.
And you and I were doing the truck deal.
Yeah, that was fun.
Taking it on the shins there mostly.
But in those five races, the confidence was there quickly.
It was like the first time with a team in a long time where I felt accepted and everything
felt strong and moving the right direction.
So we went in this off season, added some people to the fray.
Mike Cook, Andrew Dickison came over, my crew chief from RCR.
And the focus off season, like I've never felt like I had any momentum from an off season.
But we brought on two great sponsors, Seabest, seafood, and we brought on Grizzly
nicotine pouches.
And they are just blended so good with my person.
and our team's personality, and then all the stuff we did with the team.
There was, like, this confidence that was building before.
And then just the guys worked hard, and we came out of Daytona with a lot of speed right
out of the gate and have been strong.
Like, the recipe of success has been there.
Like, we've had speed that's improved our whole program.
The results for our team, AJ's been getting really good results.
It's been shown in the points and everything.
But the results just haven't been there.
Like you said, Phoenix, we probably should have capitalized on a really good day.
I speed and mess it up.
And we ran out of gas running seventh at Talladega.
end up 30th.
You know, there's like 30 or 40 points on just silly mistakes that put us in a lot
different conversation in people's eyes.
But I think a lot of people who are there every week watch and see the recipe is there.
Like our speed is solid.
And these last four or five weeks, we've executed a lot better at the end.
And it's just, it's paid off in the end season tournament.
Yeah, Colin Fern was giving me shit because he said our last four guests,
average finish is 20.2 or something like that.
He's like, no, he thinks we're jinxing.
I said, I got news for you, but 20 was just good enough.
That was just good enough, man.
It's perfect.
One better than the next guy.
It's really good to finally see you hit it.
I mean, all these years, it's been a battle.
I mean, you know, your brother's been at the three car, all these, you know, a steady thing.
You're the one that's been jumping around trying to find a home and a place that can show your talent.
And it's really nice to see it.
It's nice to see the progress of what you've done.
You know, when the kids, when you guys were young,
young. It's like, you know, it's like, you know, Ty's going to be the good one, right? I mean, you know, Ty's going to be,
he's coming and he's going to be better than Austin. And it just, for some reason, you just couldn't get into your rhythm.
But I think you found a good home, like we were talking the last week, I think, on the show that, man, you can go from 20th to first in one week, right, just to capitalize on one good pit stop, one, you know, one good caution.
Things happen quickly now.
For sure.
Just keep it up, man.
You're doing good.
Thank you.
Talk about that journey a little bit because I know you kind of got away from running the RCR stuff.
You know, what was that like?
Because it was from the outside looking in, nobody, I don't know any of the inside details.
But it's like you kind of went on your own for a little while.
And now you're kind of starting to fold yourself back in a little bit.
Yeah, for sure.
And, you know, I had the benefit of being the younger brother coming through.
And I think that helped me a lot.
And not only watching Austin's success on his way up, but watching his failures too.
and I learned I was able to kind of have a back seat.
So when I got to the level he was at,
I was able to continue and improve off that.
But, you know, I had success at RCR in the truck series and the Xfinity series
and thought my path was just going to keep going that way.
And hopefully, race for RCR.
That was my dream as a kid.
I think a lot of people think that, you know,
I chose to go my own way.
But honestly, there just wasn't a door there open.
I think they had Newman at the time.
I think Caterpillar wasn't interested in having me as their driver
and having two brothers at RCR.
just wasn't something that they wanted.
I don't know all the politics behind it, but the door wasn't there,
and I wanted to continue my career,
and Jermaine Racing gave me an opportunity with a four-year contract at that point.
It's just hard to turn down to be a cup racer.
And I jumped in the cup series thinking the success was going to continue like Xfinity,
and it didn't.
We were a good day was 23rd, 24th.
I think our first, our rookie year, like we had one of the best years Jermaine had ever had.
And then it just kind of tailed off.
You know, there was some uncertainty with the,
team after a few years and then we lost her sponsor, Geico at I think it was in August. It was pretty
late in the year and like at that point it's really hard to put anything together. And I remember being
so down at that point of my career. Also, I was young and immature, hadn't been through a whole lot in
life and just kind of thinking like maybe this is just it for me. Like I'll hang it up. The first four
years wasn't what I thought it was going to be. And my father-in-law builds rock retaining walls out
in Washington. I'm like, I'll go work with him and just, you know, create a simpler
life is what I thought and it was my wife and him my father-in-law they're like man you are good at this
like don't quit on your dreams and they really motivated me at that point and my wife was like you need
to call everybody in your phone i called rick hir to know from him i called everybody that i could find
that year just trying to get an opportunity and it led with uh marty gaunt at the 96 at the time just trying
to get an opportunity to go around Daytona johnny morris has been a long time family friend of us
I called him. I was like, hey, man, can you just help me get a shot here at Daytona, try to make the race?
He stepped up along with Black Rifle Coffee for that race. We missed the race just barely, I think,
Priests beat us in. But that curtailed and we went to 2311. I think a little bar trivia.
I'm the first one to run for 203 11. I was just right. And we were running good, man.
We had a loose wheel and had to come. I think they didn't want to get a penalty to start the year.
I were going to finish like eighth. And they didn't want to get a penalty to start the year.
So we had to come down, tighten that thing up with one to go. And so, you, you know,
You know, it's been a grind, and it definitely hasn't been what I thought it was going to be,
but I would never change what I've gone through for anything.
Like, it's grown me as a person, as a man, as a husband, as a father,
and just give me so much perspective for this time in my life to grind.
And I'm proud of who I am as far as somebody that, like, never giving up and never quitting
has become so true to me.
And I hope that that portrays not only to young kids or people trying to grow in the sport,
but I can be a help to my kids too in their life, whether it's racing or not,
like just believing and continuing to push forward and what you want to do.
How hard is it to, you know, obviously we talk to guys that come in here about, you know,
when you're kind of on the path, you, you get bounced out of the Cup series.
You know, you went and ran, we ran the truck last year together, you know, and then,
but like where do you land on?
Like, do I want to get in a more, maybe a more competitive truck versus maybe this
call a car that I hope to run, you know, top 10, top 15 with on a weekly basis?
Like, how do you weigh that out when you're, when you're making these decisions?
You know, I don't think I knew the right way to handle it at the beginning.
I will give, like, my grandfather gave me a lot of advice in that time.
Like, they need to see you at the track.
So get opportunities.
Like, however many opportunities you can get, like, let them see you at the track.
Let them see you.
If not, they'll forget your name kind of thing.
And I think you can get choosy and try to wait for that perfect opportunity.
But like we all know, like, you can get the perfect opportunity.
And I ran four races with Joe Gibbs racing in their Xfinity deal.
And we were super fast, had a chance to win.
But I had a bolt go through the radiator.
I blew a tire.
Like random stuff can happen and nothing really makes of that opportunity.
So I think people see you at the track, see you working hard, see you having a good attitude.
And treating people along the way, the right way has given me the most continued opportunity to keep getting chances.
And I think for me, that's been the recipe to success of sticking around.
Yeah.
And now let's talk about, before we get into this week's, let's just talk about this damn challenge in a hole.
Yeah.
I mean, like, what's the odds?
Right.
I mean, what's the odds and how many people?
Looking back, I...
Is they going to make money on this?
Yeah, but how much money have you think you have made people so far?
I wish I would have been in the beginning.
Now I really do.
Yeah, if anybody's been just riding this thing each round, they're doing pretty well.
Somebody's pressing.
If somebody's pressing.
I'm just doubling down, parlaying this thing.
I don't know.
And even the last two weeks, like even the whole Bowman thing, I get out of the car and like,
I think my eyes were so wide because I'm like, how did we end up here?
even this past weekend
it was looking so grim
until that rain came out
and all of a sudden
he's right there in front of me
and I get an opportunity
to have a good restart
and just capitalize again
I'm just like
here we go
we're going to the next one
and it gives you
this real belief
that going into indie
anything can happen
I know Ty's going to be
super fast
and it's going to be a lot
for us to keep up with him
on raw speed
but anything can happen
and I'm well aware of that now
I mean when do you start
taking notice of it
obviously we go to Atlanta
you're up against Danny
you're going into that
that one is a probably a big underdog.
He wrecks early.
I mean,
I picked you for Atlanta.
Just so you know.
Yeah,
thank you.
Like,
you know right away.
I mean,
are you?
Yeah,
I was aware there.
Yeah,
for sure.
But I was,
we were really strong in Atlanta too.
Like,
our car was,
we were up front.
We were ahead of Denny,
the whole race.
We had a penalty on pit road
that put him in front of us
and put us through the back
during that crash.
It was just like one of those things
that worked out.
And I think we were going to be able to put pressure on him,
no matter what.
Like,
he was going to have a shot probably to win
roll, but we were going to run in that top 10, and if they made any little mistake, we were going
to be there to capitalize. So, but as soon as he was out, that was definitely a deep breath,
especially for Atlanta, just like, okay, how many laps has he been out? How many laps do we have
to go to this thing is for sure? Because you don't know if we're going to get crashed.
We were racing like crazy, even with it felt like 15 cars out there was wild. So, and then we go
into Chicago and it was like lap two, Brad's out. All right, here we go again. Like just,
you know, and, uh, and then we go to Sonoma and it was a whole different deal. And, and, uh, we didn't
really run that race. Like,
a way that in a way
people would have thought
we were going to just beat Alex Bowman.
We took the stage points
and put ourselves in the worst track position
we could ask for it to end the race
and they fell back to us
and we were going forward
and we cashed nine stage points
and finish 17th
which was just a good run in general
and we're able to get the job done with him too.
So that was one we were really proud of
and this weekend it was just like a grind
like I talked about and John Hunter
was within a spot of us
it seemed like for 75 laps of the race
and it worked out of him.
What was the quote after the race?
I really didn't have.
I had a couple things that I thought I would say.
Let's hear him.
Let's hear it.
What would it be?
Yeah, yeah.
No, I just hit him with, he bought a shirt of mine.
And like, it feels like everybody gives me just a little bit of material before the race.
And I just kind of wait.
Like, I don't want to do too much talking before the race.
I like to see what they gave me.
And he bought that shirt and ripped it before the race on an interview on T&T.
So I just made sure everybody knew, like, you can go on collag racing and buy that.
Dax name, extra small shirt from John Hunter.
And then they were like, it looked like it was tough for him to tear it.
I was like, what do you expect?
It's got my name on it.
So like, I just had a little bit of fun.
I have a lot of love for John Hunter.
His daughter and my son are like best friends at school.
And we see each other at school drop off every day.
So it's pretty cool.
Should have drove by his house.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The one in Sonoma, like you were kind of back to the race.
with us for most of the day and we weren't doing very well and I knew the 48 was nowhere near
us so I get in the car after the race is over because we had gotten another wreck so now we were
back at the back again and I get in the car and everybody in my car is celebrating and I'm like what
the hell are you guys all cheer there I see people down there high five and Joe and I'm like what the
hell is going on was there and they're like you didn't see it tie booted him out of the way
in the last quarter I was like the whole spotter stands chair for this guy now this is
incredible that's been the coolest part about this thing is just the support from everybody
like not even just fans but in the sport just saying you know we're pulling full
you hope you get it done.
So that's not something I've had at all in my career.
It's been quite the other side.
I don't feel like I've had a lot of people in my corner.
But now it's been really cool to get that kind of recognition and have the I can promise
you.
I think this week, everybody not named Gibbs is probably.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's cool.
As far as this race goes this week, a pretty good race.
Kind of boring.
I thought it was.
Chase obviously was dominated.
Did you get a chance to sit down and watch yesterday?
Yeah.
And I fell asleep.
you can't say that
I mean
I'm just kidding
you can say
it put me to sleep
literally it might be
the most exciting part
about the race was
Ty and John Hunter
running within
two cars of each other
and then the other battle
was really good all day
those two were all around each other
Ty Gibbs and Redick
were near each other
all day long as well
but Chase Elliott
really dominated most of it
I thought Bell
poor Bell
I mean this guy is probably
you know he's one of the
talented guys in the sport but boy he spins himself out a lot like and it's just I don't know like
I hate when people say they ran out of talent because they're not running out of talent it's almost like
they in my opinion they trust their talent too much where they can just they're on the edge so much
that then they just step over that one little bit and like he was racing somebody I think it was
the nine on a restart in the three just kind of overcooks it in the three gets loose spins out
same thing late in the race he's racing danny he's underneath them off a four gets loose
spins himself out.
And I don't know.
I think that ended his day or at least put him in the back at that point.
But I mean, the guys, they were super fast.
They caught a lucky break without one caution when it was raining.
He did a great job of seeing two rain drops hit his windshield and stayed out,
aborted the pit stop and cycle to the lead and put them back in position after the original spin.
But, you know, it was just one of them deals.
We had a new tire.
I don't know.
Cody struggled pretty bad.
I think most of the race.
But the new tire for me didn't, I don't know, Ty,
I didn't seem any different really than I feel like Dover's always really kind of consistent with fall off and everything.
Yeah, for sure.
I think the only thing that was interesting for me was it was building like a rubber buildup on the bottom lane after about 50 laps.
It was like Martinsville where you get this like layer of rubber.
And if you hit it with the right front tire, just skated across.
Or if you hit it with the left rear, you're sliding through it.
So that was kind of interesting.
But other than that, I didn't feel much difference, especially starting no practice on that tire too.
I didn't think it was a whole whole lot different.
It was very hard to pass.
It was difficult.
Yeah.
Once you had to get everything done on a restart.
And then if you didn't, you were kind of stuck for maybe until we would probably run.
We were kind of splitting stages.
So it was probably 60 laps, 65 laps, something like that you would run.
But you would be, you'd kind of be stuck for 30, 40 laps.
And then maybe if somebody fell off a little bit harder than you, you would be able to get them.
But the beginning of the run, Bub, is like, I'm just kind of cruising, keeping the right front on this thing.
Because there's, I can't even go if I wanted to.
Like, there's nowhere to go.
Typical Dover.
I mean, it stretches out.
And usually the leader takes off and goes.
and all of a sudden, 200 laps later,
is a new leader taking off and going.
It's just the nature of the...
It took a lot of rubber.
I mean, it rubbed all the way to the top.
I don't know how high you got,
but they were up there.
I mean, it was about as high as I remember them being in the center, for sure.
There was a couple times I have right sides on the gray,
and there wasn't a whole lot of room left up there,
which is fun when you're doing that around Dover,
but it didn't really pay off a whole lot.
I think it could work for about five or six laps,
and then you kind of burn up that lane a little bit.
I think one of the thing that was interesting was, like,
I would move up a couple lanes,
and it would be fast for five or six laps,
and then the guy in front of me move up.
It's like they heated up that lane.
And then you could go back to the bottom
and it would go fast in two.
It was kind of interesting,
like if you're heating up parts of the track
or what it was doing.
But I will say that was one of the hottest races
I've been in a long time.
And it was only like,
I think the temperature was probably 88,
but the humidity was ridiculous.
And it was tough inside the race.
It was not a good day to be fat.
I don't even know how to do with that.
It was...
I got no fuck off insulation.
I was dying.
Yeah, it traps the heat in.
Shout out.
to Ken, our, the spotter best friend, Ken,
snack, snack, Ken got us water.
Like, we didn't, they decided not, this is the week.
They weren't going to put any water and ice in the cooler.
And thankfully, Ken, sometime in the first stage came by,
I said, don't worry, I got ice and waters coming.
So whatever he did to get that was a lifesaver for us on the roof.
Because it was, like you said, it wasn't really hot.
It was just, like, steamy, like muggy and just,
you're just standing there, sweating to death.
But, and there's guys, I think JJ had to park because he started getting a little sick,
you know, which who knows.
They actually had speed.
That 44 car, like they, we had, they, uh, they were in front of us on pit road.
And I was like, well, the comp caution is at 35.
Surely will lap.
They'll get a lap by then.
We don't have to worry about it.
And they, I saw they passed.
They passed the 51.
They were, I was like, wait a minute.
Where's this guy going?
He's going to have a career day when he's been in front of us.
But yeah, they did, they did a good job.
But, yeah, the race, Danny, I don't know if he's great.
I don't know.
Here we go.
I got to keep saying it out these days, God knows.
but yeah
Lambert was funny
Lambert was up there
and the yellow comes out
and it's raining its ass off
and they're like
you think you're gonna call it
and I said
now that guy leading
they're not going
I said if you guys
would just let Chase keep the lead
we might be out
on the way home right now
but what did you guys
go ahead
I was just saying thank God they didn't
I needed that last couple
I was going to say
what did you guys think
about that decision
rather than just calling it
it was no brainer I think
You know, it didn't, it didn't rain long.
I mean, it rained its ass off for about 10 minutes maybe, but then it just quit.
And I knew we still had.
They announced the end time was like 8.10, and it was probably like 630 or something like that when that was going on.
So I was like, we got plenty of time to try this thing.
And the track dried even faster than I thought.
It was like 30 minutes.
Yeah.
And the track was driving to.
I think being at the track helped make the decision too because you could see the weather coming.
And it was like, like it was just going to clip us.
You could see it from the clouds.
And so I felt pretty confident we get it.
We had enough daylight.
And the way they did the Xfinity.
race too. I was like, okay, I think we're going to, we're going to get it.
You're at least hoping. I was a whole bore, full hope.
The one thing we forgot to ask Ty, who gets the million? You were the team.
I don't know. We're going to work that out still.
You better work it out. Yeah, yeah. It's, um, I'll see some of it.
And what kind of cut do we get for the good block of bringing you? I think your old truck
spotter should get a little piece of investment kickback. We'll see, man.
We did so good last year. I think I propelled you right into this.
That's right.
We learned so much last year.
You were part of that momentum he was talking about.
That's right.
I don't think we had any fucking momentum last year.
We couldn't get momentum if you tried.
I don't even know what you drove.
You drove the 25 truck.
Yeah, that's a good.
That's a good sign.
I didn't even know you were truck racing last year.
Those guys were fine.
They were just, I think there's a lot of any.
Yeah, it was a lot of inexperience, I think, on the team there.
Zillich.
Connor, what do you call him?
Zillowich.
did a great job obviously
that didn't matter if that race rained out or not
he was winning I think
Justin was getting there
Justin is so good at Dover
But yeah
Connor was
I mean
fucking kids good
I don't know what else is there to say at this point
You know what when you see guys like that
Like coming through the ranks
Like I mean that you were in that position at one point
Like how do you judge these younger kids coming out
You know
I don't necessarily judge them on just wins
But I
They're professional
way they handle themselves and the way they go about their business.
You know, like, Conner's the real deal in the sense to me, because he handles his business
like a pro.
And like to me, being a good cup driver is about being a pros pro.
Like, I'm a sports fan.
And I think the way you handle your business on and off track and still have a little
bit of personality on the way, that's probably the hardest thing to do because that's
going to last long and you're going to continue to get opportunities.
Obviously being a part of JRM and track house is going to give him speeding cars to continue
to win races.
And he's proven that he can do it.
now the confidence is rolling too you can see that happening but the kids a pro's pro he gets out of
the car and he's smiling he's not beating himself up over bad days all the time like I hate to see
drivers these days like I feel like most of the drivers get out of the car and just beat themselves up
over a solid day like it's tough to do what we do and let's let's make a little bit more
positive light out of how hard it is to to run the way you do and there's only one winner and
uh I feel like he does a good job of that so I love seeing that too so I think that he's going to go a long
way.
And part of winning a lot of races is being around for a long time.
So I think he's going to be doing that.
Connor has a really good ability to be maybe one of the most mature 18-year-olds I've
ever come across and one of the most immature.
He can be the most mature 18-year-old and also seven years old at the same time.
100%.
That picture they had of him the other day, I think he was eating like a cookie skillet
or something with Jesse.
Tommy, you see it.
I mean, I know he hangs out with the kids all the time.
If you can only read the group text.
But I think that's cool, though.
All of them, they're a mess.
But, I mean, he's funny, man.
Yeah.
Be you as long as you can handle your business.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
And that's what I'm saying.
He does a really good job of kind of balancing that scale where he's all business at one point.
And then he can, he knows how to have fun and joke around with his buddies and be an idiot kid at sometimes too.
Which, we all love him for that.
That's right. Tommy, I did have to ask you one thing before we kept going.
I should have probably saved this for shit show, but I didn't.
Are you okay?
What would happen?
one of your guys is gone.
Who?
Chris Wright.
Oh, man.
I heard that.
I was depressed.
I don't know.
Rand a poor team out of business.
Put him right out of business.
Right out of business.
And that should be a lesson to some of these team owners that, like, I feel like, and you've been through this.
Like, sometimes just taking money, which I don't know the details of their deal.
But obviously, they had Anthony Alfredo in that car.
And that kid's a good race car driver.
He had them, I think, in the top 20 in points.
and they had mechanical difficulties at times last year.
But they ran well.
You know, they ran well.
Then you take, maybe take more money from this guy.
And now you're out of business.
Like Chris Hour is not a bad businessman.
I mean, the guy's a very successful guy who's modified owner for years.
When you're wrecking that much shit all the time.
Yeah, that's the problem.
You know, how much money you take from somebody,
if they just destroy all your race cars, eventually things are going to catch up at some point, right?
Yeah.
I mean, I think, unfortunately, Chris got to the point that.
Chris, our.
Hour, the owner, it's just, it's, it's, it's, it's,
The Xfinity series is the toughest business model that we have.
And I don't know if he just, you know, had enough, right, as well.
The aggravation, the politics.
You know, I haven't talked to him about it yet.
But sometimes enough's enough, man.
I mean, there's two people that tell you to stop.
I always say that, right?
It's the accountant and the wife, right?
That's the two people that always tell you that you have to stop.
And I'm not sure if it's short come to that.
I'm sure the grief of dealing with what he had, but it's a tough deal, man.
I mean, you can't, I mean, you just, you know, I mean, I don't want you to bash anybody on here.
But, like, I mean, it was every week.
There was something.
I mean, I was watching.
Well, he had his best run of the year at where it's Sonoma or something, right?
How could he?
I watched him bouncing through the fucking grass in front of me that day.
Like, I don't know where he finished.
beat you? No, we didn't beat us
there. Yeah, I think so. No chance.
But he, yeah, I just
but, you know, I'm sure,
hopefully he's back because we, we
Who's, who are we going to have on the shit show?
If he's not racing.
If this guy's not here, we're going to
be lost. I'm sure. I mean,
he's going to come back somewhere. Like, whether he
bounces back to Arc again with somebody and comes back
through there, but I mean,
I mean, he's, whatever. Tommy's
I just
I think it's hard to second guess an owner.
You know, you never know what's going on with the financials with insider race teams.
And Xfinity is for sure the hardest model to deal with and trucks as well.
But I think there's just value into taking a guy like Anthony Alfredo who has proven that like he's going to work hard on and off the track to keep the team going.
Like he does great with his sponsors and building with that.
Like if you can build some consistency, then you run a little bit better.
You have a little continuity.
but when you're hopping around, even if it's a million dollars more or something that somebody brings to the table, that doesn't always pay off.
You can use that up the race cars pretty quick, as you see.
So it's just like having a little bit of consistency with a driver.
It might not be where you want to be or with the guy you want that's like the pie in the sky.
But when you're building as a program, consistency does matter over time, especially if somebody doing the right things inside the car now.
Yeah, but the problem is you still have to pay to bills, right?
the owner has to pay the bills.
And from everybody's got to remember,
most of the sponsors and the purse money,
you don't get any from November to middle of February, right?
Or January 1st, you try to do it,
but most of the time you can't.
Right?
So there's, I don't know, for an average Xfinity team,
I would say $500,000 to a million dollars,
that two and a half, three month that they have to find.
They have to do, figure it out.
So then you're behind, right?
Right? Then it's like, okay.
But then it just keeps steamrolling, man.
It just seems like you just can never get out of the hole.
And once you're in the hole, you're in the hole, right?
And it's hard to get out of.
All right.
Well, we're ready for some spot-on, spot off?
I don't know if it's Chris Wright's fault, Freddie.
Don't blame Chris Wright.
Says you.
No, it's probably the spotter's fault.
Who do you blame for Daytona's spotter?
Oh, yeah.
It was always the spotter's fault.
Oh, so that's where it started.
Yeah.
That's why he's bad.
It's starting.
It's starting to.
I don't even know.
I think Barnwell might have been doing it at that point, but that didn't matter.
When you get out, when you, we're just going to.
Chris, good luck to you, buddy.
Hope you land on your feet somewhere.
Hey, it's Dale Jr.
And for the latest DBC gear, we need you to go to shop.

number one dinny hamelin fights off two teammates to win his second straight race at dover spot on spot off
Tommy spot off oh sorry oh sorry I know how bad do you want to talk about ditty oh go ahead freddie let's yeah
yeah I know how bad do you want to talk about didn't you go ahead I was just kidding spot on for him good
good yeah I wish he would a six car pile up would have done me a lot of good I was I was seven
but no it was a good race and I thought I thought that the 19 was a lot nicer to danny than
Denny might have been to him if the rolls were reversed.
You know, he, he was half a car ahead.
Because I've seen Danny race before.
You know, and it's tough.
You know, you don't want to race like that.
But then they have history too.
They had a big deal.
Where was that indie where they were kind of wiping each other out all that for a couple laps
there.
But he had half a car on him going into three and, and chose not to take him way up to hill like
some other guys might do.
So credit to Chase for that.
And Danny held on there.
I thought they had, they were kind of in a box where they had to stay out, I think.
That was, it split the field.
I know Tommy, I know you were racing, so you probably didn't get to watch a lot of this.
But the field kind of split.
I don't know how many guys are only left, maybe 15 or 16.
And I think the first five or six stayed out.
And he had a little buffer, but then we just kept getting yellows to where I put the 19 on his bumper and,
and put him in this position.
But yeah, I thought the 19 was awful nice to him there in a position where, like, I think,
I wonder how much it played into it that the 19 already.
he has a win.
Yeah.
Because if he didn't have a win,
it probably would have been
a lot more aggressive right there.
Sure.
For sure.
I think what's impressive
about what Denny did there
is you can't see it on the broadcast.
I don't know if anybody's been talking about it,
but the weepers down the front stretch were insane.
Like puddles.
They weren't weepers.
Those were rivers running down the front.
I think you can see when he makes the pass on the 19 on the outside,
it splashes down the straightaway like twice.
And it was like full water coming down through there.
So like my goal was to not get up there at all.
And I'm not so sure.
that's not what contributed to that crash on the front stretch too.
How was it on restarts?
Like,
because,
I mean,
you guys ran through rivers down the first stretch.
I chose the bottom for that reason.
I didn't want to have to run through it,
spin tires and
wanted to make sure.
I forgot it comes off the grandstands.
Yeah,
there's like five spots,
and it was running past halfway down the straightaway water.
That's bad there for that.
And then before that was Bell,
where Bell,
you know,
he kind of lucked out with the,
he spun out early,
caught the caution to get him back in position,
and then they were side by side on a restart.
and the one questionable thing Tommy
and you speak to this on a crew chief side
which I hate to say this because the damn Chase Elliott fans
are going to go nuts on the poor guy but
Alan decided to come in and put two on
on the nine where even putting two on he wasn't going to jump
the guys that were putting four on which were the nine
the 20 and the three who caught the caution
you know they hadn't pit yet so they put four but there was such a gap
to them guys that they put two on and didn't even jump the guys on four
so I mean what is I mean is that just a
mix up where you were hoping to jump those guys or i mean it's i don't i don't know where i again i
didn't watch much i was racing but i don't know where he was at the time was he was he was he was
he was he was third he was leading the race he he was going to cycle back to the lead i think i
didn't see where him and danny were in relation to each other but i'm pretty sure he was going to
cycle back to the lead and the yellow come out with bell leading he them two or three guys
unlapped themselves it was him danny and maybe somebody else maybe the 48 had unlapped
themselves and they opened pit road and Danny stayed out I think the 48 stayed out and the nine came
with the with the other two guys and then put two on and I was like that's I don't understand why they
would do that when you're not gonna because I mean it I think two tires there is probably worth like
I don't know 10 12 spots or something like that but there was such a gap because they were at the tail
they had just unlap themselves and the 20's obviously leading you weren't by putting two tires on
you weren't going to jump him on four so I don't I was just I don't know one of them things where I just kind of
scratch your head afterwards and go and wonder why if he was so far back i don't i don't know
probably should have i mean i hope he put two on that's what i they were we were talking about it
and they said he put two on i was like well that doesn't make a lot of sense but and he never got
he never really recovered from that he was kind of the third or fourth guy on older tires at that point
he stayed out late there um and but he was they were really good all day long they dominated
majority of the race i would say but but good for danny i don't know if you guys know he's great
i don't know if i told you i heard that from you a couple of
we hear it every week
so
we had a cool
two tire
well we didn't even
take two tires
but during the rain delay
we figured maybe
John Hunter was listening
to our radio
him and Travis
and so my crew chief
was like all right
so no matter what
we're taking four tires
but we're gonna scream
on the radio
we're taking two
hopefully they're listening
we're gonna try to jump
them that way
and it didn't work out
but it would have been cool
if it'd be a whole lot cooler
if it did
it was funny
because we're in the rain delay
and we're in one of the hallways
up there and Joe
that spots for you
when Hayden grieves, that spots for John Hunter,
and Joe's going, you better wave, Hayden.
If you don't wave, we're going to wave.
Oh, boy.
That's right.
We're hitting him from all angles.
I was like, good news is you guys aren't going to get a chance to wave,
because there's going to be guys staying out here,
so you'll be fine.
It's amazing how much stuff you know what's going on up there as a spotter.
The spotter's unit's pretty tight.
I mean, but he knows, I mean, are you supposed to be spotting for Bubba?
Yeah.
My job is to know everything, Tom.
I forgot.
Didn't you train me at this time?
Yes, yes.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
All right.
2311 in front row were operated as...
So next, Tommy Go!
Yeah.
They were operated as open teams
after being denied a temporary restraining order
to keep NASCAR from revoking their charters.
Would you like me to go to Tommy on this one?
Yeah, go to Tommy first.
Spot on, spot off, Tommy.
I mean, at the end of the day,
I mean, I signed a couple of those agreements in my lifetime.
They didn't sign them.
right and there's a lot getting ready to happen i think and um if i remember correctly there are
available charters for naskar to sell or to give to new manufacturers that come in possibly right
but if these things there are people lined up to buy these charters right so what happens
if they're purchased right and these new teams come and they buy these
chart is that these two teams have lost.
What happens if Dodge comes in?
What happens if Honda comes in and they have to do,
they want to introduce new teams?
What happens if all this happens before all this is done?
And now they're filled up.
Now what happens if NASCAR loses?
There's a lot getting ready to happen here, man.
Let me ask you this.
And I don't know that you know the answer to this or not.
I have no insight knowledge on this whole lawsuit deal.
So like when I say I can't talk about it,
I can't talk about it because I don't know what the fuck's going on.
But, you know, if whatever, they'd say they lose the charters and NASCAR sells them, which we just saw a couple charters, there's agreed upon sale for, I mean, you're talking about maybe $75 million a charter.
Where does that money go? Does it get spread out amongst the other charter owners?
Like if NASCAR's selling, if NASCAR takes those six charters away or whatever, five charters, whatever it is, that's six, I think, right?
And they sell them. Who gets that money?
I don't remember, to be honest with you, I don't remember how that was in the country.
It does.
NASCAR does get a percentage, but it does.
But even the teams now, the charter teams now with those six.
They're getting more money.
So look, they're all in, right?
These guys are all in to try, ultimately to trying to help all the teams, right?
And they're taking the beating right now for it.
I mean, they're in jeopardy of losing millions in.
millions and millions of dollars. So, I mean, I hope it all works out. I mean, at the end of the day,
what do you think that, what do you think comes out of this? Like, do you think this gets settled?
Do you think this ends up going all the way through? Or, I hope it gets settled. I hope, you know,
you, Mr. France is a tough man, man. I mean, he don't like being played like this. And, you know,
you got a lot of money on the other side playing. So it's, uh, it's going to be,
interesting to watch how it uh you know the biggest thing is what's going to happen is naskar if
naskar has to open their books what's going to happen right and that's the decision then nascar is
going to have to make whether to negotiate after or yeah we're going to open our books we're going
to show you everything so we'll see i that time's coming right there's you know it's coming
pretty soon right couple months right yeah so we'll see and tie for on the driver's side of this like
what's it like, you know, you talked about losing that Geico sponsorship.
What's it like racing with this cloud of kind of uncertainty like over your head, over everybody, really.
I mean, I will say we have a meeting tomorrow to get updated kind of where we're all at.
I have a good show tomorrow.
I don't know.
I'll call you tomorrow.
But like that, like, so nobody, everybody asked me.
I'm like, I don't know what the hell's going on.
I want to go there December 1st and be, I'll be tailgating out front and we'll go in there for the hearing or whatnot.
But like, but you know, you're racing these guys, Bubba, Tyler, you know,
the guys under contract over there, Corey Hime, Riley Herbs,
like these guys are all racing with a big cloud of uncertainty over their heads,
and how hard is that to keep moving forward?
I think I've never been in that unique of a situation,
but I think for those guys, they're probably just focusing, I'm sure, just doing their job.
You know, it's another week for them, and they trust any.
They trust their owner.
I don't think they would want to go anywhere else right now.
Like, where is there else for them to go, and they're hoping this thing works out,
and I feel like it will.
I think it's going to work out for everybody pretty solid.
So for them, I just know they've been around long enough.
I know Bubba and Tyler for sure are just going to keep doing their thing.
They don't get too worked up about much, either one of them.
And this whole sport is a cloud of uncertainty all the time.
I mean, you've been around long enough.
Everybody's mainly on a one-year contract.
And if you think you're safe on a four or three-year contract, it really ain't.
People get shipped off those all the time.
So, you know, it's just kind of another day.
And December's first is going to be a big thing for everybody.
and I'm excited just as anybody
to see how it plays out.
Kimmy and Tommy go
tailgate the hearing with you?
Yeah, absolutely.
I'll be good.
Come on.
I'm surprised.
We want to go support our friend?
In this whole thing that like Denny
or 2311 or front row
hasn't started like a Netflix
untold documentary around this whole thing.
Honestly?
I have no idea if they are or not.
I haven't seen any cameras around the shop.
I think it's their best interest not to do anything right now.
That's an opportunity.
That's an opportunity.
Those Netflix deals do pretty well.
Yeah.
Don't make a Netflix documentary about anything these days.
It won't pay for the charters.
We were, by the way, best open card this week, I think.
There you go.
All right.
You got, what, 22,000 for...
Now, Tommy, does that money...
How much...
Let me ask you this.
You probably know this.
How much money...
What's the difference in money?
Oh, let's see.
You probably got...
Week to week.
You probably got...
Let's see, 18% of what you would have.
Does that...
Does the rest of that...
get spread across the guys.
That goes the other team.
Just asking for a guy.
Asking for a friend.
He usually pays pretty well, too.
I think if you add it up, it's probably, I don't know if I'm guessing,
mid-30,000 for each other charter per race now.
They get, so.
But, yeah, you guys didn't do very, you have no more bonus.
My bonus.
My bonus.
My bonus.
This is not getting a bonus this week.
Hey, December 1st goes your way.
Yeah.
You got about 15, 18% of your normal pay.
no good I gotta wait to see what that check looks like next week
no big alas for freddie next Sunday
all right moving on
2026 schedule changes according to
Kelly Crandall NASCAR is headed to
San Diego in 2026 with an announcement
coming as soon as this week
NASCAR also reportedly is
interested in returning to Chicago Land Speedway
and they also announced that we will not
return to the Chicago Street course in
2026 but we'll return
we'll explore returning in
27 that was a lot of words
Can I never have this many words on a topic ever again?
Well, you do very good for the Fox Factory thing.
Yeah, that's like engraved in my brain now.
They pay for that.
They pay for me to not mess up the words.
Spot on, spot off.
Ty.
Spot on.
I'm a big component of like performing,
like tracks need to perform just like drivers and teams do.
I think if you don't have a full crowd,
especially the way this year's gone,
you should be on a one-year deal
and there should be other teams lined up,
or other tracks lined up to get that race.
And I like moving around.
We're adding to our fan base.
San Diego's an awesome city for those, I don't know, who haven't been there.
It's also close to where the Navy SEALs train,
which is kind of a cool thing, too.
And Chicago Land is a place that I felt like the last time I ran there was one of my favorite tracks,
and they took it off the schedule, of course.
Did you drive my car there?
Was it Chicago or Kansas when you drove for me?
I think it was Chicago.
Was it Chicago?
Yeah.
It's a cup car?
Yeah.
Yeah, so I have some good experiences there.
So I'm looking forward to going back.
That probably wasn't one of them driving.
No, we finished.
We're solid.
We're talking about the race, Tom.
I was talking about you probably being an asshole to the guy all day.
No, no, it's great.
Yeah, I did.
It was when Regan was having his baby, right?
That's right. Exactly right.
Seven, right.
You're not that old after all.
You can remember some shit.
You can't remember your phone, but you remember what year was that?
Regan's kids probably 15 now.
No, I don't know.
Yeah.
But no, you're right.
Yeah, spot on for sure.
And then for me,
I love going to downtown Chicago.
The food is great, but that track's kicked my ass, man.
I think I'm three for three for knocking right front suspension off of it.
And as far as every time I've been on track, I've knocked some right front suspension off.
So I'm sure I'd be four for four if we hit back.
So I'm good with skipping that one.
Yeah, I kind of heard this getting on the plane last week that Chicago was going to be out.
It was kind of bouncing back and forthward.
I talked to actually Jordan a little bit.
And they were like, well, I think it's out.
But it's maybe coming back, Jordan Bianchi, by the way, not Michael.
Michael didn't know this guy.
I know Chicago.
You're confusing.
But now you see the rumors picking up about Chicago land.
I think that's going to continue to gain steam and maybe get it back.
It's got some work to do.
You see the videos that, I think, Hosevar had a video going around that place.
So they definitely got some work to do there.
But what's going to disappear?
I think Mexico.
I think Mexico is going to come off.
And those two will replace it.
I think San Diego and Chicago land
and added in Mexico and in Chicago.
Now, I don't think, I think Mexico just comes off next year
just for the fact that it's like,
I think if you read Jordan,
has a good article about this on the athletic.
They don't have a place for us to rate.
Like the one we were there this year,
next year they have the World Cup there,
which is, I don't know how long that goes on,
probably a damn month.
But so now they're like trying to figure out
where to put it on a schedule
and line it up where maybe we have an off week
because a lot of the, you know,
people in the industry wanted an off week around there
just logistically.
A second off week would be,
quite nice. Yeah, we do. I think
that doing the math, we're going to have a second
off week next year. Because I looked, and
it was, if you do the math
from, you know, Daytona to Phoenix this year,
is 38 weeks, which is 37 events
with the week off.
Next year, we have 39 weeks. So I'm thinking
we're going to get maybe that summer off
week back, which would be nice. And then we can just hope
to God the Olympics come back soon.
Every other year.
It'd be really
nice if we have some midweek races.
Yeah. I would love it.
They just nobody watches them, unfortunately.
I don't.
Every Monday night, yeah, with the streaming.
We shouldn't be in a box anymore to do that.
Like, if we could take a month off the end of our schedule,
I'd race 50 times if we could take a month and a half off the length of our schedule.
Yeah.
It's just like, I mean, you even see it like the Saturday night races.
What about the Monday nights when we rain out?
They're always good ratings.
Not really, not compared to Sunday.
It might be now with streaming service, though.
Yeah.
It's looking to it, Freddie.
All right, I'll get with my friends at Fox.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Not Fox.
Oh, you want to do like Amazon?
Like Amazon, like streaming.
But I mean, Tommy, like, always good to see new blood on the schedule, right?
I mean, San Diego, I've never been.
I'm going to work for this nice time.
That's one I would go to for this nice time.
Are you going to go to that one?
I'm telling you right now.
No chance you're going there.
No, you won't.
Yep, I will.
I will bet you're not there.
Yeah, I always love new venues.
It's always good places to visit and learn about the culture of different places.
I mean, Chicago lands a racy, a racy, racy, trussie.
So I think all of you guys as drivers are looking forward if we can go back there for sure.
Absolutely.
I mean, it's rough.
I can't imagine how it's aged over the last couple of years.
Chicago gets pretty brutal winters to you.
So you know the surface is going to be worn out.
So you're going to have more of a homestead kind of California feel, old California that they said we're going to go back to you.
I missed that place.
Yeah, me too.
That was a hell of a race track.
Yeah, for a long time, you would never think you would miss going to that place.
And now you do.
It's, it was a great track.
But, yeah, I think it would be cool to go back there.
All right, Kyle Bush, when asked if he thinks NASCAR should remove the rearview camera from next-gen cars, he said,
quote, if you run the camera, you don't get a spotter.
If you want a spotter, you don't get the camera, pick one.
Yeah, Freddie.
Yeah, Freddie, what do you think about that?
I like the fact that he said he'd pick the spotter.
Thank you, Kyle Bush.
I didn't expect that out of him.
Where would you be at on this?
When did he say he?
He said it.
Alex cut that part off.
No, whatever is it.
Yeah, right.
Kyle definitely said he would take the spot one.
Yeah.
And he said I would take the spotter.
Oh, according to Twitter, he did say he would pick the spotter.
You're correct.
No, I'm with Kyle.
I would go with spotter.
That's a boy.
These in-car cameras, I think they're too good.
It gets made the blocking ridiculous.
And I grew up dirt racing, so we had nothing, you know.
We had a receiver.
Let's not go there.
Yeah.
We don't want to go that part.
No, I think spotting, having a spotter and no mirrors would be the way I go for sure.
You know, I was giving briscoe shit about this.
I don't know, a couple of years.
ago when we first went to
Wiltsboro and we had an awful spotter scene where we couldn't see anything in the middle of
three and four and he's like I don't know we don't even really need spotters anymore these
cameras are so good and I'm like that's because nobody's behind you chase
you've been right last for the last two months I said but what about when you come around
the corner and there's a car broadside in front of you like you're gonna want you
wish you had a spotter at that point you know our our job first and foremost is safety like
you know I know we've we've definitely we've definitely selling spotters here
Shut the fuck up, Tom.
We have definitely gone way more into the competition side.
But first and foremost, our job is why we became mandatory is for safety.
There was cars, you know, I forget his name.
Eric Martin, I think it was.
The Arker guy, he got killed, unfortunately at Charlotte, I think, during practice
because there was no spotter on the roof and he got T-bone sitting there for a long time.
And after that, they became mandatory for that reason.
You know, we are safety, you know, we're safety device first and foremost.
So, you know, I don't, I see somebody like, they're going to, they want to limit.
I think it was like Landa Castle or somebody said, like, we should just be safety.
We should not be able to help, you know, on the competition side.
And I'm like, you think we were not going to have fucking 100 code words?
Yeah, exactly.
So after Eldora, all the issues, you think it should be second thought on spotters here?
You know, I think, you know, I've said this for years.
I say this about Stafford with the SK Lights a lot.
they don't have spotters for I don't know why you know like because you see a wreck at that place
and 10 cars pile into it afterwards like I get it you want these like they're it's supposed to be
younger drivers entry level division which it's a modified still you know it might have a crate engine
in it but it's still a modified and and you like these guys are need to learn and like you're
when they move up I don't know what you're trying to teach them because when they move up they're
going to have spotters so why wouldn't then I have spotters now just to be safe but you know
I think I think everything I think everybody should have a spotter just for that
purpose of just avoiding wrecks.
Like whether or not, you know, you can actually help.
I mean, I tried the dirt race at El Dora when we did the trucks.
I spot it for freezing.
I'm like, this guy's not listening to a fucking thing I'm saying.
And it's hard to spot like when it got like the year we won't above it.
Like we were just up against the wall.
You didn't do anything.
But, you know, it gets widened down.
You're like, okay, there's one inside.
He's four lanes down.
You know, like you're not even really spotting at that point.
So I think for safety purposes, I think everybody should have them.
But, you know, you saw that hit that Brad took the other.
where he's spinning around and finally lands
and here comes somebody five minutes later
and hits him hard enough where he continues the flip.
So I just think that for safety purposes,
you should always have one.
And I agree.
And recently enough, Chicago,
like there was somebody sitting in the middle of the track for two laps.
We didn't have spotters down there.
Had no clue he was there.
A guy like Will Brown comes all the way from Australia,
puts a lot of money to this thing.
We have that big pile up.
They didn't have a spotter down there.
Runs right into it, right?
And the spotter stand was behind it.
tree. You guys couldn't see anything as is.
There was three or four instances where we didn't
have spotters in area. There was cars sitting
broadside, driver's side.
And luckily, nobody got hurt
in those situations. And that's because we didn't have
spotters. And to me, that was
like you've got to have them. Well, as always, spot on,
spot off's full of great opinions.
And we also don't want to forget
to give a thanks to our friends at Fox Factory

Carson, does anything have you fired up before we get going?
No, honestly, the only thing I was going to say, I was just going to bring up my truck, my little model truck that I got that has me excited.
But other than that, no.
We'll wait for reaction theater to see what else has everybody fired.
I didn't have to be.
You got a lot of people fired up from what I heard.
what did you do
God forbid a woman goes to the beach
and post a photo
I mean
we'll see
let's listen
Sue me
These better not be
Alex
Alex all coming and beat your ass
Alex is back too
So he's
Alex had to pick him
Which I listened
Alex
I was at the bar last night
I heard some shit about Alex
Alex
Alex you dirty dog
I'm gonna
I'll refrain from going too deep into it
I have fun on boats
It's fine
What did you say
I have fun on boats
It's fine
All right, let's get into it.
Hello, Ms. Carson.
I know that the cars tour might be a little busy this weekend,
but I might have a good opportunity for you.
I myself am a successful CEO,
and I'm providing you the opportunity for two free cold play tickets in Nashville.
Let me know if you would like to go,
and if you maybe want to make the kiss cam again, thank you.
I did. There were a lot of comments about want to go to a Coldplay concert?
Hell yeah. Another week of Ty Dehlin winning his portion.
I just want to say, Miss Carson, if my man wins a million dollars,
I'm going to take you to Arby's and get that brand new Angus C.
I don't know. He's talking about.
Baby.
That's good.
Is that your dream date?
the Angus cheese steak.
Arby's, yeah.
It's good food, man.
Tommy, your ad's working.
This message is the tie.
If you win this tournament,
I will get a tattoo of your face on my ass.
Hell yeah.
Yeah, I'm down with that.
I don't want to see a picture of it,
but you can send out of the Freddie,
he'll check off on it for you.
You can actually text it to the reaction theater line
if you want to get it.
Yeah, once she wins, we want a picture of Ty Dehlin's face on somebody's ass.
What's the odds?
I haven't even looked.
I don't know even where to find it.
I don't know where to.
They're looking better than they were yesterday.
That's all I can say.
Do you know what the odds are?
I have no clue.
With 15 to go, they were not looking good yesterday.
Not at all.
Hey, I hope we're a big underdog.
Keep it that way.
Yeah.
No shit.
If anybody else in the history of Cup racing had been the leader of this race,
would they have been drying off and putting all the elements out there to dry the track off so quickly
and get the last 14 laps in?
Spot on, spot off.
Spot on.
No, he was.
It's like Kyle back in the day.
I mean, there was no games we played to stop raining and we had plenty of time to drive the track.
But it was pretty funny that we got to give Danny and Lambert shit for a little while.
I'll tell you what, this show a few years ago created a new nickname of Hungry.
money. But after watching them spend
twice yesterday, I'm thinking
crazy cop Christopher Bell
going to be the new one stepping on that thing
twice.
I don't know if that one's going to catch on
quite as much as the other one.
That one wouldn't... That does a flow.
Smoothly.
What about
what about Larson though since indie
since the indie race? What
do you think has happened to the
did they just lose their momentum?
I mean,
I mean, they were pretty good yesterday. They started
behind us so I don't know
they must have a shitty metric did they wreck
where the hell we go last I don't remember but
the Sonoma
so I don't know they had they were behind us but they kind of
methodically kind of worked their way up there and he was running
and I don't even where he finished but he was in the top five
at the end and he stayed out and probably got
passed a little bit at the end there but
it's like you just the problem
is you hold we hold these guys such a high standard
like if he's not winning he's struggling and it's like
that's same thing with Chase like early's fans
are like Chase is there oh Gusman should be fired
they're all time like the guy's in the top
five and points. Like, what he's not
having a bad year? You know, it's just
but yeah, he's not been
the same since then.
But I don't know that there's any
correlation to it. I mean,
he went out and won at El Dorr
this week. So, I mean, it's, you know, I don't think
it's him. It's just, just,
they got to find their mojo again.
The question out for Ty Jones. If you win the
million dollars, are you going to go climb the
fence and celebrate like Tony?
Hell of a job, brother.
Can you get up that fence?
I can scale the fence pretty quick, but I don't know.
It's getting back down part is the one that I worry about.
I can get up there.
Man, I don't know.
If we win the million dollars, it's going to be quite the celebration.
Will you be, I mean, hopefully you win the race.
Hopefully you do not win the race.
I don't need you to fucking win this week.
Unfortunately, I'm sorry.
If you win, I can finish second.
We'll all be happy.
There we go.
Can we all do burnouts at the front?
Like, if you win the million dollars, are you kissing the bricks this week?
I have thought about that.
Like, do I do I do a burnout?
Like, if we win a million dollars,
feel like it's worth it.
I think you should.
You're going to have to do it a backstretch.
I just have my own party.
Right into turn three area there.
Yeah.
To quote the beautiful and talented
Carson Ellage,
David gravels a whining little bit.
He raced you too hard.
Just because it ain't his day job,
bud,
doesn't mean he don't want to win
or finish as high as he can.
Yeah,
I heard there was some beef.
So they had beef.
Him and Larson had beef this week.
And I talked to some guys
that race with them guys.
And I said the same thing.
Like from the outside looking at you and I was like,
he kind of sounds a little bit like whiny.
You know, like, but they were like,
they're like, yeah, but the racing is starting to get out of hand.
He's like, and with these cars, you can't.
Like he's like, Cup car, you know, you can put a guy in a bad spot
and it's not that big a deal.
Like with one of these things, you put a guy in a bad spot and he doesn't lift.
Now they're barrel rolling down those straightaway.
You know, and it said it's just guys that are, you know,
taking chances that are, it's just super risky.
I mean, we saw, which, you know, you saw, and this is not intentional, but like,
Buddy kind of just goes into turn one and hangs her right.
And, you know, Tyler ends up in the hospital because Buddy didn't give a shit.
He just, I'm going this way.
And if somebody's out there, then, oh, well, you know, whatever.
So there's guys that are just taking unnecessary risks with stuff that's already super
dangerous.
So, you know, I, you know, I get it.
I'm sure those two are they have other beef, you know, one is the premier outlaw.
guy one is the owner of the high limit series.
So they've got their own
stuff going on outside of that. But
you know, I didn't, outside
looking again, I said the same thing that gravel kind of
sounded like a bit of a windy bitch.
Then when somebody kind of put it a little more perspective
for me, I was like, I could see that where you don't like,
I said Kyle does that in a cup stuff.
You know, like he'll, he'll run you up.
He'll put you in a spot where you're either lifting or we're
both going to maybe scrub the wall. And
that's, that's fine, you know, in
cup. But like when you, if that stuff
goes wrong, it's going to be a, it could be a lot
worst outcome I think there was a lot
of slide jobs going on, right? What was it on? What was it on, Freddie? It was on
flow, by the way. And guess what? You can now get 15%
off of your flow subscription. 15.15.
Oh, I thought it was 50. Blaney, we were going to have to call
Blaney. No, and it is a new link now. It's flowsports. Dot link
slash door bumper clear. Spelled out. 15%? 15% off. So thanks,
you're welcome, everybody. You guys got me on flow. I
turned it on this weekend. I watched every single race that was going on from
Bowman Gray.
It's so, like, you can't not turn it on.
Like, you literally, any night of the week you turn it on, there is going to be a race on there.
And then on the weekend, there's 20 different tracks you can watch on any given night.
You just pop right through them, too.
Like this weekend at Langley, when it was raining, we switched over and watched Jack
Ingram at Hickory.
And then once that was over, we switched over and watched them these, like, crazy.
What are those cars at Bowman Gray?
It's not the modifies and stuff, but the ones that, like, run into each other and do all the crazy shit.
That's pretty much the modified.
No, they were like destroyed
But like we were just watching anything and everything
And you can't beat that
Stafford by the way Stafford's on flow
Did you see these idiots this week?
But it wasn't on flow.
Well, that wasn't on flow?
No.
That was Cleetus.
We can't talk about it.
But anyway, it was Cleasford.
Did you see they ran a monster truck over their pace car?
What the hell's going on?
I guess it's Cleatis.
You're Cleetis buying a new one?
I don't understand.
Those guys are doing some cool stuff.
Yeah.
They're making the.
savannah bananas of racing out there, and that's going to be cool.
I filled that place for two days, man.
I heard it was sold out both days.
Cleetus.
There's nothing but burnouts for a whole day.
Yeah, I saw that, like a burnout competition.
Place was packed for burnouts.
It's because it's Cletus.
People love it.
It's good to see Priests finally win something.
Yeah.
A crown Vic race.
Congratulations.
I want to enter a Crown Vic race so badly.
We can get you in there.
So badly.
We'll call somebody.
Send Cletus one of your pictures.
Oh, my God.
He'll put it on the hood.
All right, we're moving on.
To leave an audio message 24-7 and now I'm...
What?
I can't.
That was pretty tame.
I don't know how many Alex had to weed out.
Alex, how bad was it?
It wasn't that bad.
We could be better, though.
Yeah, no, those calls weren't bad.
I was saying Tommy needs to shut up.
No, no.
I didn't even see any pitches.
I was just a little disappointed.
I thought we were going to get some outlandish shit out of it.
Judging by the fact that everybody commented about resumes.
Well, you can text those to our, or you can always call our number.
Do not be careful of what you tell people to text us.
704, 802-957-2.
We better get a picture of that Ty Dillon-Assat.
We'll play the best ones each week on the show.
So thanks for that, everybody.
MasterLight 24 wants to know.
Oh, MasterLight's an old-time listener.
Really?
Sweet.
All right.
well hello what young drivers
and other series have impressed you the most
this season and why
Freddie?
Oh, we talked about Zilich obviously
he's kind of I think number one prospect
Corey's obviously really good.
Heim, those are the guys you know about.
Somebody that's always kind of impressed me
and he's kind of more on everybody's radar
now is Honeycutt.
I think Honeycutt gets a lot out of everything he drives.
Luke is obviously very good.
I hate to say that while Tommy's sitting here
for the amount of experience that Luke has.
to be as good as he is is pretty phenomenal.
I mean, they were running legend cars, what, three, four years ago?
I mean...
Yeah, but I was doing a bad on purpose.
Just so they wouldn't race.
Just so they wouldn't race.
But I'm just saying the fact that they were...
I mean, it's not like they grew up racing.
They've only been doing this for five years, maybe.
I don't even know when they started.
But, you know, Luke's doing a great job.
Hopefully he's got some more stuff coming.
But like those guys, like the guys for me, and I think, like, you kind of touched on earlier,
like, I don't really give so much of a shit about winning.
But when you see guys, like,
getting the most out of their equipment.
Like Kyle Weatherman was a guy that I always thought got a lot out of whatever he drove.
Didn't have the stats and I don't even know where he's at nowadays.
But like he was a really good race car driver.
You know, those guys like that are the ones that you notice, I feel like.
Yeah, those are the ones that you're rooting for because you can see the talents there,
the mental side of it's there.
Obviously, we've got guys now in the Cup series that are super fast,
but kind of brainless out there.
You want to name them?
Tommy can tell you who's name.
I've been watching you guys podcast.
I think we know exactly who he's talking about.
Where did he finish?
77.
believe we're not erect.
Yeah, you like to see guys who are aware of the situation.
They might not blitz the field every weekend,
but they're getting the best out of it, like you said.
So one of the guys obviously biased because I'm calling racing,
but Christian Eckus this weekend, they qualified 30th.
You know, their speed wasn't there,
but he drove all the way back up to the top 10,
didn't want it up.
And they've had a bit of rough years as far as expectations,
but to kind of have your back against the wall,
the worst it's been.
and those guys dug up through the field pretty solid.
I think their last bit of the year is going to be really good for them.
Tommy, I know, you know, when you had your team, obviously,
you ran some exfinite races.
You had Blaney in the car a little bit.
You had priests in there.
And I know Dave was driving for you,
but it's not like you're just going to stick Ryan in there because it's Dave's kid.
Like you obviously saw something in him.
So what do you look for when you see these younger guys coming through the ranks?
Yeah, I mean, just how they were brought up and the talent they've had up into that point.
I mean, we, I didn't know.
know anything about Ryan at the time how good he was until you know actually he drove the cup car
before he drove the Xfinity car at a test I can't even remember I think we were down in Georgia
doing a test getting ready for Richmond and uh you know he got in the car had probably 40 more
laps on the tires back then it was Martin's little soft soft tires you know and he went faster than his
dad lap three and you know again we talked about this or an earlier show
I looked at his dad.
I said, you're done.
So right after that, after Dave got done being mad at me for a couple weeks,
we put together a little program.
We went and bought a car from your grandfather,
Exfinity car, and showed up, run eighth at Richmond, his first ever race.
Back then it was a bunch of cup drivers, you know,
and he raced against, you know, around, all it took was racing against Brad
Casillaski, that whole race, right?
And he ended up, I think he ended up beating him.
And that's what's propelled his career.
That's what got it started.
The thing that I appreciate about a lot of these younger guys,
I saw it a lot with like Raja when he was coming up.
He's on the roof.
He's asking questions.
Luke's birthday was recently.
We go to the house, and it's kind of the who's who of upcoming racing prospects,
and there's seven or eight of them there,
and they're just like little sponges.
You know, they're asking questions.
They want to know why this happened or why that happened,
and how could I do this better and how could I do this better?
And I'm like, I was at this age, I was just wanting to party.
And these kids are asking,
like how can I run better in 150 lap or versus the 30 lapers that I run.
So that's the thing I appreciate the most is how much work these,
it seems like these kids now put in, you know,
and are asking questions and just trying to get better.
And those are the ones, it correlates on the racetrack.
You know, there's guys that are idiots that don't have any,
that don't talk to anybody.
And then there's kids that are trying to learn and you see them doing things
the right way.
So those are the ones that really usually stand out for us.
All right, shit shows.
I know there was the very obvious one, cold play.
What other shit shows did you guys see this week?
Oh, man, I thought I...
Oh, I sent them to you guys.
So there was one that was like dominating my Twitter replies this week.
Alex, you got that one pulled up?
Is it the dirt late models?
It's the dirt late models, yeah.
That shit was out of pocket.
This is on flow, by the way.
So my man here, I don't even know.
I mean, I guess he kind of...
That was a terrible slider, first of all.
It's a bad slider, but the guy kind of clears himself.
Nobody really wrecks.
I know you spun.
But yeah, it gets worse.
tie. So this guy turns around
and he's driving now the wrong way.
Under green flag conditions.
And he's, now I think they finally
threw the yellow. But this is not over, by the way.
So now he's turned around now. He's going to chase the guy
through the infield. And when he finally gets to him,
things don't go well.
Because he now drives across racetrack,
gets behind him,
puts the bumper to him,
and he flips him over.
No way.
Oh, yeah.
Here we go.
I didn't realize this went on as long as it did.
Yeah, he's going to put the bumper to him right here.
What do you think race control is saying right now?
Wow.
That might be like if if Chris writes.
Did he pull right in the pits after that?
Yeah, he's gone.
Yeah, he's off the race track.
He drove right into the trailer and left the track.
Said, I have a nice day.
Whoever's running that series.
I mean, that guy should not ever ever ever race.
What is it?
It's the Mars dirt racing.
I don't know what Mars dirt racing is.
Actually scratch that.
go to Boma Gray. That's where you're
you've been chained to Boma Gray.
But yeah, so that's definitely, I mean
if this was on like Fox,
this would probably beat Chris Wright
out of the top
spot on the shit show Hall of fame this year.
But yeah, I thought
it was going to get worried. When they sent it to me and this guy
turns around right here, I was like,
I saw this part and I'm like, oh, he's
just driving backwards and oncoming traffic, whatever.
And then it just keeps going.
It gets worse. The other
one, Alex, where's the other one of this poor guy?
So there's a clip of this guy spins out and he goes to turn around.
He ends up in the grass.
And now we're,
now it's on.
Now he's just spinning around in the grass.
This guy is just going to do donuts in the grass.
Oh my gosh.
Hold on.
This video is not over.
It's probably not even halfway.
He can't,
he can't get out.
He can't get out.
The old pills mafia.
Is that what that says?
Well, that makes sense.
Now it's all coming together for us.
What is he doing?
Hang on. We're not done yet.
Oh, we got it. Oh, we got it. Oh. We got it. Hang on.
Nope, we don't get it.
That must have been the guy that bought the ride.
You think so?
Here come to the leaders. Now the leaders are coming into the picture.
They're back.
This was a, that was a shit show for sure. That was a, that wasn't a professional racer there.
You don't think so? No, I don't think the Pills Mafia car.
And he's also showing that.
That must be the CEO.
A Pills Mafia trying to get some TV time.
He's never been off-roading either.
You can tell.
I pride myself a lot of times.
If you get off in the dirt,
I go back to when I took my truck off road
and going mud in with four-wheelers
or side-by-side or something.
There's a little bit of, you get back into that mode
on how to get back on track.
You can figure it out of it.
He didn't do a very good job.
No.
Right there.
I don't know.
There was really nothing at Dover, right, this week,
that anybody else saw that I don't remember any shit shows.
Did you have any shit shows?
No.
I mean, you had a bit of a shit show.
I mean...
The one thing that disappoints me is that he put...
Sean Corchane has...
What's the name of that website?
I don't...
I don't even matter.
But it's like behind a paywall.
Like, it's some big fight.
And then somebody sent me the video
and it's just Tommy talking to somebody.
And I'm like, damn it, that's not even close to a fight.
It was clickbait.
So Coldplay's definitely got to be on there.
100%.
There's some good...
There was a bunch of good memes.
I saw one, like, a kid.
A kid, like, five, six years ago had tweeted, like, how much does it cost to go to a cold play concert?
And the response was your house and half your 401 days.
If they would have just kept on, it probably wouldn't have gone as crazy as it did.
Unfortunately, Carson, they're not as good as being shady as you are.
Yeah.
Well, come on now.
Reason why you're single.
Hey.
Hey.
You're not being hard on me today.
Yeah, Lars.
I mean, Lugano put the bumper to Ross right there,
but that wasn't a shit show.
There was really nothing.
I mean, there was a bit of a shit show
when Eric Jones riding around,
I mean, half throttle for the end of that one stage,
I think it was at the end of the first stage.
I don't know, I'm sure you got to pass him
because he was, I think everybody passed him
for like two lapses.
It was pretty dangerous.
He was just out there nursing a flat tire,
I assume we're a tire coming apart or something.
When it happened, he was a car in front of me,
I could see the unraveling.
It was hanging out the right front fender.
So I'm like, he's gone.
He's going to go down Perry Road.
Like pass him again.
I'm like, geez, he's going to try to make this thing.
I think the 16 had the same thing.
Yeah, they did.
Without Chris Wright, I mean, we're just...
We didn't even have a shit show.
I mean, we had a little bit of a shit show at the casino, but not too bad.
How much money did you lose?
I didn't lose any money?
Oh, I mean, I lost whatever.
Didn't they get rid of all the bars and restaurants?
No, they still got...
Your favorite one is gone.
It's...
Well, no, it's...
I shouldn't say that it's there, but they've changed it a lot.
They've rebranded.
Tommy...
Can I tell this story about you coming out of this place in the middle of the night?
Tommy?
Sure.
We can call it. I mean, we can cut it out.
So Tommy calls me. I was spotting for Tommy at the time.
And me and Doug Campbell were both spotting for Tommy at the time.
And he is, we're at Dover.
And we can't find Tommy.
We don't know where he's at.
We're at a bar.
He's at a different bar.
So it's getting late.
It's probably 2 o'clock.
Whatever time the bar closes.
I was with Martin Truex's dad.
Oh, which that was, he was, that guy knew how to have fun.
Yeah.
We could say that much.
And next thing I know, this one bar, like a club, like a night club, closes.
And it empties out.
And here comes Tom.
Shirt, kind of one or two buttons on button, sweating his ass off.
I was like, I was dancing.
You're getting active.
He's like, I was dancing my ass off in there.
I was like, wow.
I said, please go to bed.
Tommy was cutting a rug.
He was getting after.
Can we add that to our shit show?
It was a restaurant turned disco in about eight minutes.
It was like a seafood restaurant or something.
I remember.
Wait, you've talked about this before.
I feel like on here.
how it was like a restaurant at one point and then all of a sudden
you're in the club eating clam chowder
and then dancing around
now it's a Chinese restaurant
it's a little different now but
the casino's still fun
they will not serve you the funny thing
they will not you can't have
two drinks in your hand at once so like if you
have like a little sip of beer left you can't
order another beer so that one's done
and then of course I ran into a lot
and I wish I could remember all of you but you guys
bought me too many shots of fireball a lot of
DBC fans in the casino
in that fire an ice bar and they're like, do a shot.
I was like, I'll do a shot, but I had a drink.
The center bar? Yeah, the one in the middle. You can't even do a shot.
You can't have a shot. You got to put your drink down,
do the shot. I was like, okay. That's bullshit.
I was like, you guys are killing me here.
They don't belong here.
He and Mr. Truex used to meet
once, maybe twice a year back then.
Yeah. I saw him every year.
You could never get, you can't, you could never leave.
Yeah. It was, that's a fun time.
You know, you were there. If you saw him, you were there until whatever time
they stopped serving.
Rest and peace.
him because he was a blast.
All right. Well, remember to go vote on our
Shish Show Hall of Fame Twitter poll on who
you want to see inducted this
week and also the Iowa tornado
situation is what won last week. I don't know if we mentioned
that. DBC picks.
Tommy, you finally won. It's been a drought.
Well, I know, but you haven't won in a hot minute.
I mean, the guests have been
kicking our asses.
You really let me down at Sonoma.
I picked you against SVG.
I'm just pretending.
Is this some bitch my win?
He's been on such a role lately.
Sorry about it.
I was just saying,
I'm pretending like the guests aren't there.
Like you and I are tied for the...
You know what I mean?
So I'm going to ask you guys this,
because this was the deal in the previous years with the show.
And I will agree to it if you guys want to.
The deal was whoever finishes last has to buy dinner for the crew at the Christmas show.
What's a Christmas?
We do a Christmas show every year.
And so we would do the show.
then we'd all go to dinner.
I always buy dinner.
That's fine.
Wait, okay, but hey, what kind of restaurant are we going to for dinner?
Like, are we talking like...
We used to go to Epic.
We used to go to Epic.
Okay, okay.
It's a nicer, you know, nice...
All right.
I know, that's why I said it while I was last so that I can go on a little run here, hopefully.
But, I mean, if you guys want to do that, we can do that and make sure we get, we've got
take the crew with us.
You know what I think we should do?
We should just throw all of the guests that one in a hat and make them go by a dinner.
So Redick did Redick bought dinner for us one year.
He's usually the guest on the Christmas show
Because he looks like an elf
So
He came out with us
And he actually bought the dinner
The one year for Casey, I think,
lost because I think he was feeding Casey picks
And they did not do well
So he had to buy dinner
So that'll be the deal
But who goes first?
Ty, actually
So you got all the ones that are great out
You can't pick
Okay
Where are we?
What's how?
You're not great out?
Tom Cruise is available?
Tom Cruise is still available.
I don't know if I like
his odds this weekend, but it's a tough one
to pick against.
Man, all right, there's three in the list
here.
You're not going to pick yourself.
Shut up. Of course I want myself.
I don't want to jinx myself.
Yeah, you can't pick yourself. You can't pick yourself.
It's between Bubba and Kyle Busch.
I know the guy that's sponsored Bubba. I wouldn't fucking pick it.
Good. I'm going to go Cowbush.
Who's next?
You.
You would think I'd have been looking at my
my lineup here
I do not have
a lot left
I'm
I will take
you got a couple good ones
Fred
Craven
Craven
you have your big him
You have Josh Bain
I do have Josh Bairn
I do have some good ones left
Hey I've been sneaking them in there
I do not
I'll tell you know I'm gonna take is
Austin Dillon
because he's gonna catch some
bullshit like he always does
He was right in front of me
yesterday and he flipped the state flip the whole thing
guy comes out and he was going to run
I don't know 6th or 7th until we
know that last when the rain came and he
kind of got shuffled on pitch strategy a little bit but
he was gonna he was gonna go from running like 20th
to a top 5 or top 6 whatever it was
so I'll hopefully ride the hot hand there
I'm between Ty Dillon or Ty Gibbs
here I'm just kidding
no really though
you have both of them yeah I do
I also was thinking about Tyler Reddick.
I'm not sure.
I don't have really much going on here.
You know what?
I'm going to just,
I'm going to go with Ty Dillon.
Million dollars and winning DBC picks for me.
No pressure.
All right.
Thomas.
Alex Bowman.
Oh.
Way to fucking ruin it for everybody.
I mean.
Thanks, too.
Not if you pun him again.
We'll be in good shape.
Come on.
Now we have something else.
Now you got to worry about DBC picks.
That's right.
That's right.
Don't worry about that million.
That million's not a big deal.
You've got to win this.
People don't forget.
But he don't remember now who we all picked.
I'll put it on his dashboard for him.
A little piece of tape.
What's your week look like this week?
I mean, you're getting ready for indie, obviously.
But this obviously is going to be a little bit different for you going into this one.
I think it just got a little bit busier after yesterday.
I think we're going to go do some promo stuff Wednesday.
I'll be at the shop probably this afternoon.
Tomorrow we're going to do some SIM stuff.
But Wednesday going out doing some promo stuff.
I think we might go to Instagram.
into early too and do some stuff too for this this whole thing so it's going to be a busy one taking
the wife and kids uh haley and the kids are going to go with me so we're going to have a lot of fun
we got some family that are going to come in for this thing so everybody's excited around us and
no no matter what happens we're going to have fun with it so we're going to celebrate this moment
how's hailey enjoying the podcast world and i know she's just she's been doing it's man i saw the one
with amanda above his wife i watched that one is pretty good it's been awesome it's a passion behind
her she really cares about all the women behind the scenes and she's done it long enough now she
knows all the hard stuff that goes into it.
And she just wants to glorify the ladies behind the scene because there's a lot that goes
into dealing with us headcases week in and week out.
And just talking about their interests, too, that they have a life and everything going
on with them.
So she's having a lot of fun with it, and it's growing.
And I'm proud of her, too.
For sure, Thomas, where are we going racing this week, anywhere?
Indy.
Indie.
Oh, you're actually going to go to the race track this week.
I got there is somebody that's been trying to track down your autograph.
He sent a message on Reddit or something, so I got to get you hooked up with him.
I told Richmond is probably his best bet, right?
You're obviously going to be in Richmond, I would assume.
Are you going to the Cup race?
I know you're going to modified race, I assume.
Friday, I think that's the Hall of Fame.
My Wall of Fame is that Saturday night?
Oh, it is.
That's right.
So you're going to not be there.
Huh.
I told me coming to race check on Thursday.
Was that when we race Thursday?
So, but no modified race in this week, huh?
No.
Thompson's the next one, a couple weeks on a Wednesday.
When's the next smart race?
Labor Day.
Oh, that's right.
They go around.
Damn.
The Bowman Gray schedule, right?
Yeah.
Like, they kind of don't race.
We race double
Carteret.
I mean,
oh, that's the beach weekend.
How was,
I mean,
how was that?
I don't want to talk a lot
about modified racing.
Why not?
How was your weekend?
Because we get yelled at
by the boss.
But we get to talk about cars,
Tor.
Well, yeah.
By the way,
he owns that.
I don't know if you know.
Oh, yeah.
But, like,
what's it like going
double-header weekend
back to back?
Like, I know you love it.
It's awesome.
Yeah, it's just,
we need two or three of them,
to be honest with you.
Manadnach's a great racetrack.
It's very racy.
And, I mean, we ran 200 lap around Saturday, 200 lapar on Sunday, 200 lapar on Sunday.
And, yeah, great racing all weekend.
It's fun to be at the track like that.
I just hope that we learn a couple of different things,
you know, a little bit of time scheduling things.
And hopefully we can run one track on Saturday and another one within 100 miles on a
Sunday to do a little bit more.
It's a good cost savings for us, you know, for the blue collar racing teams, you know.
So I hope we do some more.
That was the most fun I ever had racing was when we ran.
I was a partridge at T.S. Hollers with Jimmy.
And we ran Thompson Thursday night.
We ran Stafford Friday night.
We ran Riverhead Saturday every week for whatever, 30-something weeks.
And it was that's all you did.
It was race.
And then you'd go back and get the cars ready and go back out there on Thursday morning.
Shout out to James.
He did good.
James had a really good run the other night.
I was texting with him when I was talking to you at 2 o'clock this morning.
I was texting back and forth with him.
At 2 in the morning.
Trust me, that kid's awake.
I promise you.
He's always up.
Nobody in that house ever sleeps.
But he did a really good job.
I told him, I said, we got to work on some tactics, you know, little racecraft to make yourself a little more, less predictable.
It's only got five stars.
That's all right.
We got to learn.
We got to get better.
But no, he did a really good job again.
I told Jimmy that the next day.
But Carson, where are we going?
Any cars tour?
Car store is off this week.
Again, our next one is August 2nd for our throwback classic race.
So that's what all of our efforts are focused on right now.
I know I'm excited.
That's our 50,000 and 30,000 to win.
We need some throwback swag in here.
Can you line that up?
I actually can.
I have my hats in already, but my shirts are shipping this week.
So I'll get you guys all.
You got fat guy sizes?
I'll get you guys all.
Yeah, what are you?
Triple X.
Don't look at me.
What'd you say?
Yeah, we go up to 3X.
I got you, Friday.
I don't need that.
I don't know.
I'm not quite there yet.
Is your dad's race this weekend?
My dad's race is this weekend, yep.
I have with a TK twin-9s are at Riverhead this weekend.
So hopefully we get some cars out there.
They've been a little down.
Unfortunately, when my dad died, he owned the whole division.
You didn't even know that, though.
Tell me a quick story.
This is a good story.
You got to tell him the story.
So my dad was a figure-A racer.
He's in the Hall of Fame already at Riverhead,
three-time champion, yada, yada, whatever.
he when he got a quit driving probably mid 2000 like 05 oh 6 something like that he won a championship of 06 it was like right after that he kind of quit racing so he bought a couple cars and my cousin was driving one my brother was driving one and then another like the guy that was dating my cousin was driving one for a little while so he I knew he owned two cars it was the 10 of the 11 they always race we knew those two cars so then my dad unfortunately passed away a couple years ago so I called one of his business partners grant and I said grant
I said, I just need to know where you guys are at with these cars.
Like, does he own all them?
Do you own half of it?
Like, you guys?
He's like, he's like, well, here's the deal.
Like, so he owns all the 10.
He owns all the 11.
He said the 85's his car, but my motor.
This one is his car.
My motor.
This one's his motor.
I'm like, I was like, there's only 12 cars out there.
He owns six of them.
And my mom, I was like, well, hold on.
You're going to have to let me break this news of my mom because I don't think she has any idea that
he's owned all these cars.
and been paying all these bills for God knows how long.
So that was fun.
But yeah, it was,
hopefully they get out there this week.
I put up some money for,
if they get at least nine cars,
his number was nine.
The races are two twin nine lap races.
They usually run 15 laps.
So I said,
if you guys at least get nine cars,
I'll pay,
I think it's $500 into the perch or something for each race.
You got me for that, honey.
I didn't get you.
My cousin probably did.
My cousin's,
Aaron,
thank God for her.
She's running all of it.
So I appreciate everybody at the racetrack.
They named the division after them last year.
So I'm happy there keeping his legacy going.
My brother's actually going up there this week.
So we might not get him.
I've seen a picture him last night.
He was not looking good.
2.30 in the morning.
I seen a picture.
Is he okay?
When I left the house, he was just coming too, I think.
So he, I can show you guys a picture.
We're done here.
It was pretty comical.
But yeah, so they're going up there.
So that'll be a fun weekend.
They want to give a shout out to my buddy Sunshine.
He's kind of laid up right now.
Obviously, he's got a kind of.
of a long road ahead of him to get back out there,
but I'm sure he will.
When the time's right,
obviously Aaron Reitzel, another one got injured this week.
I think Brad got released, right?
I know he went to the hospital.
Caleb Henry also.
Caleb Henry, another one the week before, I think,
was Attica, Fremont, I can't remember.
So these guys, a little tough stretch,
that track was pretty tricky,
and there was some people upset about it.
I saw Amy Long was basically just following Tony around to Twitter,
like telling him to fix his racetrack.
So I thought that was pretty funny.
But not funny was these guys all, you know,
you hate to watch.
watch you're watching a race and one of your buddies is leaving an ambulance it's it's kind of
tough but I'm sure he'll be okay I was texting back and forth of them this weekend yeah yeah he's
he's he's okay he's in pretty good spirits that's Stenthouse's car is no it's it's the
seven's Clauston Marshall it's richard Marshall owns Stenthouse's car so uh but he's hot
and child drives uh Sheldon drives the the Stenthouse car but hopefully those guys get better
Ty thank you for joining us we got a we uh we are pulling I told you everybody
point for you, I think, at this point.
And it's, I mean, I'm happy because, obviously,
I know you're a good guy. We've known each other a long time.
We had Ty at Dingus, I think.
I don't even know how old you were. Remember this?
When we went to Iowa, that was, we were,
probably had to be 16 because you were running Arka, I think, at the time.
And we went to Dingus as the bar across street from Knoxville.
We shot over to Knoxville from Iowa.
And we're like, we're going to go in.
The guy, he looks at Ty. He's like, you guys aren't going in here.
I'm like, fucking Richard Childers's his grandson, bro.
He's like, all right, good.
I think it was closed.
I didn't think it was over.
We got in.
We got to get Tommy to Dengis.
That would be something else.
I'm not going anywhere.
We go when we race Iowa.
They have the 360 Nationals while we're there.
We are so far away from the track.
I don't even know.
Too far for Tommy.
But no, anyway, thank you guys for listening.
Anything you got before we leave?
Alex, you got to say anything?
You want to boating or you like boats?
Welcome back.
You like, you like, you like boat.
Alex, we're glad to have you back, Alex.
We forgot to even mention you were back last week.
The show went so smoothly.
Did you mention it?
I think we did.
He said he came from a better place.
He's back from a better place.
He's back from a better place.
They sent me back.
They're like, you've got to get out of here.
Anyway, thanks for listening.
It's good to see all you guys in Dover.
We will see you again this week.
I don't know where we're going, but it'll be fun.
Indie.
Yeah, that'll be good.
But, yeah, triple-header this week.
I'm truck racing again nowadays.
Nice.
Gio Ruggiero and Dean and above it this week.
So we'll see.
You guys just run a one car?
Just one car.
Yeah, that'd be fun.
Ty, good luck to you.
Thanks, Sam.
We're pulling for you.
Appreciate it.
Share some of that money with your old spotters.
Thanks, guys.
We're out.
See ya.
Check out.
