Doug Loves Movies! during the Limestone Comedy Festival. Earlier today, I interrupted a classic Best Picture nominee that was filmed entirely in Bloomington, Indiana. The film is called Breaking Away, and it was not only nominated for Best Picture, but it won Best Screenplay in 1980 and was also nominated in a few other categories, including Best Supporting Actress, Barbara Barry. few other categories, including Best Supporting Actress, Barbara Barry.

Paul Dooley was snubbed for a Best Supporting Actor nomination. And while it doesn't hold up entirely, it's still a pretty engaging movie and fun to see in the town where it was filmed. Hey, everybody! Oh shit, how's it going in the balc? Nice, I love the busker chumbling. I've performed comedy here before with the comedians of comedy, but this is the... Thank you. This is the first time I've ever watched a movie here, and I'm very excited about it. You guys voted and determined what the film would be today. Lots of movies got one vote, but... Sorry, whoever won Saturday Night Fever.

But the movie that got just a ton of votes, and deservedly so, for all of us to watch together here in Bloomington, Indiana, is A Horse Braving the Wind. It's been a while since I've seen it. It's been a minute. But I love this movie, and we're not necessarily here to mock it. We're just here to make jokes while it's playing. And the first thing I want to say is that I just love... they refer to the kids that work in the town and don't go to school cutters and it's interesting how the word

There was a VIP party last night. Yeah. A few cutters snuck into it, I noticed. And Graham got up and sang Bruce Springsteen with a live band. Yeah, live band karaoke in Sweden and Asia. And you sang that because Ron Jany was not on their playlist. Yes, they did not have one that rocked. Don't Ron Jovany is the band to go to? Do you want to sing a little bit of him for everybody right now?

Yes, I did. I did have fun. Good answer. It's documented. And where do you stand on the motion picture breaking away? Have you seen it? I have not seen it done. Ever?

Ever. What? That's pretty cool. How many people here have never seen Breaking Away? A few people have seen it. Why? There's quite a few, yeah. Some people just politely held up their hands. Some of the podcasters don't really have an actual number. The old box is not actually an actual number either.

I just saw it when it first came out and I've seen it multiple times since and I haven't seen it in a good five or ten years.

So this is going to be a nice, interesting, nice little reunion with this film. I believe, I stupidly did not look up the movie ahead of time for some fun facts, but I'm pretty sure Barbara Berry got nominated for Sporting Actress, who did her role as the mother, and I think maybe Paul Dooley might have gotten nominated for Sporting Actress with the father. And Dennis Christopher has kind of disappeared from our lives. But of course Dennis Quaid and Daniel Stern and Jack Carole Haley are all still in powerful action ever since. Well Jack Carole Haley disappeared. He did all those movies in the 80s, like the 70s and 80s, Breaking Bad and all this and that. Breaking Bad, Breaking Away. Remember when you were the best guy? Oh, I forgot to mention this. When it's true, I'm going to watch all five seasons of Breaking Bad. Jacko! Who's that? Who's that? So Jacko, I've been listening to him for a while, then came back and he said his resurgence was just kind of awesome. Yeah, playing total creeps.

All these people, Frank Eberhuber and Rorschach, and a guy who turns out to be a children's swimming pool. And a guy from the wrong side of the Civil War. The wrong side of the... He was on the goddamn South Pole, I'm sorry.

He was bad. Yeah, I guess I'm just the only guy that was in favor of an ex-lady right here. Turns out I'm pro-union. Pro-union. Pro-union. Yeah. Johnny Rick! What was Jack here on the link? We're looking for the, like, Jeff James.

All of his jokes in the movie are just going to be more like, what's happening? Why do I care about this bike race? You know, this movie is about cycling. I'm going to pretend I'm not a mom whenever I watch a movie with my mom. She has no fucking idea, ever. Which person is this on Instagram? Can I go with that? Yeah, yeah.

Why is he bad? I think the most asked mom question is probably, where is he from? You know, when you list off ten cocky bears. Did you see that? No, that's not him. No, no, no, no. Gone in 60 seconds. Was he in that? No, uh, definitely not. And Jackie, have you seen the film?

Yeah, six weeks ago I have one. You've just watched it? Oh, every six weeks? Yes. Is that how you get to know everyone that you own a movie? Is it you're willing to buy it if you're going to watch it every six weeks? Almost. You should see the rotation. American President almost 24-7. I heard that, I heard that only American President gave, uh, Michael Douglas throat cancer.

I was gonna say that, but I didn't get throat cancer. He was on the TV program of Streets of San Francisco. The guy with the big nose.
