Starting point is 00:00:00 Doug Loves Movies! 12, and it lived up to the hype. It's a moving, independent drama with a very endearing Brie Larson at the center of it. But you guys already know I love her. See it when it comes your way. Last night I did a Benson movie interruption at CineFamily in LA of Fast 6 with co-interrupters Graham Elwood, Scott Aukerman,
Starting point is 00:00:40 and Zach Galifianakis, and I'll play the audio from the opening of that show at the end of this mini. Speaking of minis or shorties or bonereps, whatever you want to call them, since some folks don't want to bother listening to them, we are going to take them off of iTunes and release them exclusively at DougLovesMovies.comcom I'll keep making them for those of you who like extra babbling and plug filled content
Starting point is 00:01:10 but you'll just have to look for them over at our site instead of at iTunes regular UCB apps and 90 minute road apps will still be available where they've always been is that cool?
Starting point is 00:01:25 Cool. Lock it down. Seattle, I hope to see you at the Bumbershoot this weekend. It's going to be a lot of fun. Los Angeles, the next movie interruption at CineFamily is Mommy Dearest on Thursday, September 5th at 7.30. Come watch this fucked up movie with me and my special guests, one of which will probably be Zach Galifianakis' schedule permitting. Bethlehem, Philly, Yonkers, St. Louis, Milwaukee.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Come see me do various things. Dates and deets and links are at douglosmovies.com. And now the audio from last night at CineFam. And as always, Blaine from Pretty in Pink is a shithead, but who gives a fuck? Let's go, let's go! Yay! Hey, everybody!
Starting point is 00:02:20 Oh, wow, I usually remove the tape. That's super efficient and a delightful surprise. How long have we been doing these? Three years now? I'm always walking around pulling the tape off the front row. She came in and boop, boop, boop. Alright, so I'm not as drunk as I was at Evil Dead. But I'm definitely as drunk as I was
Starting point is 00:02:46 at Now You Can See Me. So the question on the table is how many people here had something to do with the production of the movie we're about to see? Full disclosure,
Starting point is 00:03:02 Fast and Furious 6. Who had something to do with the making of it just applaud or raise your hand what did you do that person back there I was a set PA for a day you were a set PA for a day but that's your fucking story
Starting point is 00:03:18 I don't even care what the but is you're not going to be offended that we make fun of it. You're probably here for vengeance. I was a set PA for a day, but they fired me for not doing shit that I was supposed to do, but I didn't know. Are you... Have you done more set PA work since then? Yeah. Yeah. I just want to make sure that the director of this movie is in here.
Starting point is 00:03:59 That Vin Diesel is in here. Because I don't need him up in my shit. That would be radic. And Alright you guys. I get it. It's late. This is a long ass movie. Two hours and ten minutes. But just as long or maybe longer on September 5th
Starting point is 00:04:27 Thursday night 7.30 here at CineFamily Mommy Dearest yeah and if you've never seen that movie it is so bug fuck ape shit nuts please please do come check it out
Starting point is 00:04:42 and please give a big warm welcome to my co-interrupters tonight for Fast 6. Scott Aukerman, Graham Elwood, and Zach Galifianakis. Hey. Come here. Sit over there. Sit down. Hello. Hi.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Sit down. Sit down. Hello, Doug. Hi. Sit down. Scott came flying in. That was really, really dramatic. A new M.O. I was like, what does that stand for? Yeah. And of course, Scott is the list of comedy bang-bangs. Thank you, America!
Starting point is 00:05:30 This is just CineFamily. This is a small cult within America. And have you seen Mr. Scott Aukerman, Fast and Furious 6? Let me think. Let's see. Fast and Furious 1. Check. Fast and Furious 6? Uh, let me think. Let's see. Fast and Furious 1. Check. Fast and Furious... Two Fast and Furious. Sorry. Check. This might take a while. Fast and Furious Selfie Adrift.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Uh-huh. Check. Fast and Furious. Check. We're getting there. Almost there. Fast Bike, check. Fast and Furious 6, check. Yes, you've seen them all!
Starting point is 00:06:13 Thank you. That deserves more. So you like them all? Uh, yeah, round about. I go see them. Sure you do. What does that mean? What don't you see?
Starting point is 00:06:27 Like, what's the summer blockbuster this summer you went, fuck it? I don't think it's saying fuck it as much as just, like, five weeks later you go, oh, I missed that one. I missed that one. What did you miss? Probably Monster Steak. You know that's for children, right? What? That's for children. Planes?
Starting point is 00:06:43 I meant, no, also for children. What? Yeah. That's why I go. Don't fucking say epic. I I'm talking about you know, you saw Pacific Rim? Uh, I did, yeah. World War Z? Yeah. Um
Starting point is 00:06:59 The Wolverine? The Wolverine? I did. This is the most boring game of stuff. See what movies Duncan made. The Wolverine? The Wolverine? I did. This is the most boring game of stunt. See what movies Duncan makes. It doesn't matter whether you've seen it or not. Because you've seen them all. I missed a whole bunch, I feel like. Which ones?
Starting point is 00:07:17 Which ones did you miss? Well, I don't know. I did make a big trip to go see The Wolverine because I was like, I can't miss it. What do you mean a big trip? To pack up an RV? No. I got up on a Sunday at nine in the morning to go see it.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Because it was the only time I could. Yeah, that's your church. Graham Elwood is here, ladies and gentlemen. He's not only seen this movie he has disrespected the American podcast listening public by spoiling a lot of it on my podcast right after it came out
Starting point is 00:08:00 there was a lot of heat came down for you mentioning ridiculous shit like that Jason Statham shows up in the after the credits scene. Yeah. Yeah. I just told you guys you could fucking get the fuck out of here. This is going to be after midnight when that happens. You should probably just go home. Yeah. Yeah. This movie is two hours and 10 minutes long for no good reason. Yeah. Well, maybe it's two hours and ten minutes long. For no good reason. For no good reason. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Well, maybe it's to make you furious? I'm so furious! That 40 minute runway. Spoiler alert! There's a lot of fast things, you're right, but there aren't a lot of furious things. No. Yeah, like the... our heroes kill innocent bystanders on a regular basis. They get angry, sure.
Starting point is 00:08:50 But furious? Furious isn't even in Vin Diesel's acting book. It's too big of a word for him to pull me. He's just like, at worst he's kinda mad. In any scenario. Cause He's just like, at worst he's kind of mad. In any scenario. Because he's just standing there looking like Vin Diesel.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yeah, Vin Diesel. Slightly cheese. And Zach Galifianakis is here, you guys! Also slightly cheesed. I don't know what that means. You don't need to sit through two hours of this shit. I'm not going to. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:30 That'll be an interesting barometer for us, all of us. Like, when did Zach walk out? Are you going to do it quietly or with a big hoorah? I'll probably stick around for, what's it, straightened? Troy, should I straighten? I'll stick for him, and then I'll probably stick around for what, what's it, Stratham? Stratham? What's his name? Should I shoot Stratham? I'll stick for him and then I'll probably take off. Well that's, you just said that's the very, that's super lame. Oh, I thought it was the best.
Starting point is 00:09:56 I've been following Vin Diesel's career for a long time. Do you know what's going on with Vin Diesel? It's Vince Diesel. So you're fired up for the new Riddick movie that's coming out. That looks good. The eyes grow. I know.
Starting point is 00:10:14 The eyes grow. You can see in the dark, man. Yeah, too bad I can't too if I see that movie. I can see that movie. Are you the only person who wears a visor in a movie theater? Yes. At night? At night in a movie? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I caught a Dodgers ball with this the other day. Caught flying. Oh, I thought one of them was just jogging by. Yeah, one of the Dodgers balls. Yeah, I thought of Dodgers balls with this. Um, let's do it. I didn't mean for this to go on for so long. It's always so much fun. But now we're going to watch Fast and Furious 6.
