Starting point is 00:00:00 Doug hates candy wrappers, screening babies, sticky seats with 50 ads and popcorn kernels in his teeth. There's still not one that he won't see because Doug loves movies. Hey, hey, hey, everybody. My name is Doug and I love movies. Not necessarily Christmas movies, but this is Doug loves movies recording on Sunday, December 7. 2025 before introducing my guests a dug plug the douglo's movies 12 guests of christmas is going to live stream from los angeles on monday december 15th at 730 pacific so it's a week away you can purchase the stream to watch it live or later at your leisure or you can come see it in person all your options are available at dynasty typewriter dot com because it's happening at
Starting point is 00:01:00 at Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles. That's DioCytyperwriter.com. My three guests today are Joey Bragg, Kevin Lewis, and Jeff Tate. Hello, gentlemen. Hello, Doug. Hey, Doug. Wow.
Starting point is 00:01:17 It's going good. That part's always awkward when I introduce three people at the same time on audio recording. But let's meet everybody individually. alphabetically by first name. Some people call this guy the ringer, but I call him Jeff Tate. Hello, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:01:41 What's up, everybody? Oh, you know, just making a podcast about movies. Oh, that is it? Am I that kind of ringer? I've seen that movie. Oh, no, not that movie. This is more of, you know, a game show ringer, not an Olympics ringer.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Yeah. I know you've been going into kids movies for reasons we don't have to get into, but have you taken the children to see Zootopia 2? I have. It was great. I mean, I can't think of a, maybe in the history of cinema, a better movie for children that an adult can watch.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Yeah, that might be accurate. Yeah. Damn. The news. You know what I mean? Like, it's wildly entertaining from an adult perspective. Yeah. I guess I never even found out if the boys liked it.
Starting point is 00:02:38 I loved it. There were a few parts, like, somebody tried to bring their, like, you know, toddler to the screening that, the matinee that we went to. And, you know, the kid was too young for us to yell at him. Why isn't this kid in school, you know? So it's like, but it was also, like, the kid. first movie and there's some pretty talky scenes, you know, especially about
Starting point is 00:03:03 feelings and stuff that I think they might lose kids on a little bit, but the kids that you went with Jeff, they went for the whole thing? Yes, yeah, they love the whole thing. That's the only way I could tell that they must have loved
Starting point is 00:03:19 it because I was able to watch the whole thing. Yeah, no interruptions, straight through. It's an hour 48. It's a, you know, it's not one of those shorties like a lot of animations used to be. I'm going to take them to see CISO 2 next. That's a tight 90.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Okay. Settled down. I never saw the first one of those, not to sidebar or anything, but it's great. The first one was awesome. Yeah, people really love it. And then, you know, now there's a second one. So it's like, and I guess. it's different enough that
Starting point is 00:03:59 you don't have to see the first one to get what's going on. Yeah, it doesn't sound like you do. Sounds like it's kind of even stylistics, which is a little bit, which is cool with sequels. But anyway, back to Zootopia 2.
Starting point is 00:04:17 I loved it, and it had just the right amount of sloth. They didn't go nuts with the sloth. I thought they, I really went into it, worried that they would because it's such a hard gag to pull off the second time because the first time the joke is
Starting point is 00:04:33 how slowly things are going for that entire sequence he is a three time returning champ two time two times I lost once oh okay but I'm saying right now you're on a streak though you won two in a row to get to this place today
Starting point is 00:04:52 yeah so if you win today that'll be three in a row Hat trick. The old Dougie Hat Trick. Yeah, but today you might lose your bragging rights. Joey Bragg. No! Thanks for having me back. I'm excited, you guys.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I've been doing flashcards. I'm so ready. Did you see Zootopia, too? No, no, I didn't. Is it on your wish list? It's going to, I'm going to go see it. I've been sick, so I've missed some of the last movies that have come out, but I did just go see Wicked for Good.
Starting point is 00:05:23 that's um how you you must be like imperfect uh health you must have recovered a hundred percent to be able to handle oh yeah wicked for good oh my gosh honestly that movie was somehow too long and too short at the same time not enough time to tell the story they wanted and far too long to be a good movie yeah that's fair i think that's a very fair assessment um like it's such a weird thing to be disappointed by a movie you knew you were going to be disappointed by it because whether you've seen the wicked musical on stage or not it's just notorious for having a second act that's not as good as the first yeah so to make a whole second movie that's almost as long as the first one like they took a two
Starting point is 00:06:13 and a half hour stage show and turned into a five hour movie and it's like why it doesn't need to be stretched out like that yeah they also made uh they made uh they made choices stylistically that I don't like I feel the one thing the Wizard of Oz does was make that movie magic it was kind of synonymous with like original movie magic and there's so many shots in this movie that feels so lazy so many like the establishing of the yellow brick road just felt kind of bland I don't know I felt like they could have done a lot more yeah it doesn't have the it's you know I know there were upbeat numbers in the first ones there's more opportunities for like you know, choreography and
Starting point is 00:06:53 razzle-dazzle. But you know, the second one's all just weepy ballads, you know, except for the one you know, Jeff Goldblum song. But it's just it's just, it was a weird way to do it. They should have, they could have made one three-hour movie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:09 You know, very easily. And it would have been exciting and but also, you know, they could have worked a little harder to make the second act just more, you know, it could have been like, The first movie could have been trimmed by 20 minutes, and the second movie could be trimmed by the rest to get it all down to just three hours.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Maybe somebody will make a, you know. Yeah, like that Phantom Menace without George R. Binks cut. Yes. Or the thing that I've always dreamt of that, you know, I don't think anyone will do because it sure would be painstaking, is removing Dr. Melfi from the soprano. you know great actress interesting dynamic but like now we've seen enough stuff about therapy and therapy bad people in therapy that that all that stuff's just a waste of time to me now and i just want to get it you could be effects cgai jar jar in there instead right yeah switch up that'd be another fun way to go anything to make those scenes more more fun yeah put dr milphy on that boo Because also, you know, we see, this series ends,
Starting point is 00:08:25 and we know that the therapy has not helped him at all. No. You know, so what? I got it, guys. You put that doctor, she's the one talking to Papateen. There you go. Yeah. Yeah, all day.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Awesome. Okay, well, let's, we should have moved on since we've heard from our third guest without formally introducing him. he first visited us a few years back when his movie willie's wonderland came out and now he's back to promote his latest is kevin lewis hey kevin hey dog hey guys glad to be here i'm excited to say that uh i love the title and the premise of your new horror film was called pig hill and it's going to be on digital NVOD this Tuesday so that would be this comes out on a Monday
Starting point is 00:09:25 so it'll be tomorrow please tell us about it yeah so it's based on an urban legend about the pig people in Meadville, Pennsylvania that's true, that's real for decades they've been talking about it kids who've grown up about it and everybody has their idea of what they are, who they are they actually have a pig people beer at the local bar,
Starting point is 00:09:48 the 33 taps there. And so, yeah, it's a story. It's based on a book called Pig by Nancy Williams. And then the screenplay was written by Jared Burris. And it's kind of a, it's a lot of different genres. Okay. So it's more like a psychological horror. But there's a lot going on with, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:10 you could throw it in a little bit of the slasher category and a little bit more like surreal. kind of a David Lynchian vibe, if you will, you know. And it's about this, the lead Kerry, and she's trying to figure out about these pig people, and she's writing a book and her adventures on discovering who they are and what they are. So I'm pretty excited.
Starting point is 00:10:32 It's coming out Tuesday. It sounds, pig hill sounds like a great double bill with Zootopia, too. Yeah. Real, uh, that'd be good. Similar yet opposite. Watch it on Tuesday. Holy shit. Yeah, that's the actress is a Qualley, right?
Starting point is 00:10:56 Yeah, Marguerite Qualley, and Rainy Qualley, and Margaret Qualley's her sister. And so Qualley, Shane West and Shilohannandez are the three leads. Shane West, of course, from a walk to remember. Yeah. Yeah. which I have no business remembering. Not to derail, but just so I don't forget, because I definitely just have the worst memory.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Willie's Wonderland is fucking awesome, man. Oh, thank you. Thank you very much. I love it. I've watched it a bunch, and I don't even, I'm not even a horror guy. I watch it so much, and I can't wait to see the new thing. There we go.
Starting point is 00:11:34 We can just cut this out. That's awesome. It's like having Chris Farley take over my show. that's your interview style but uh well you know jeff also uh you know we could talk about this afterwards but jeff has a uh movie podcast and i bet he'd be honored if you were able to participate in that kevin oh for sure oh fuck yeah all right don't cut this out leave this in hold him to it this is a sacred contract it's true that uh once you say it on a podcast it's real i quit Quintotino's learning that this week.
Starting point is 00:12:17 You can't just go on a podcast and say whatever. Before we play some games today, I would like each of you to, since we're in the midst of the holiday season, I like each of you to recommend one holiday movie. And I say holiday movie, you just kind of leave it up into your own interpretation. Because I think based on your description, Kevin,
Starting point is 00:12:41 And I'd say Pig Hill sounds like an amazing holiday movie, you know? A little bit. Yeah, it's a different, you know, approach to the Christmas ham. Yes, for sure. I don't know if you want to eat ham after it. Well, that's the thing. Maybe that's you watch the movie after dinner. But Jeff, we'll start with you.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Recommend a holiday movie. I'm positive I've done this before, but the long kiss good night is my favorite Christmas movie. Oh, very cool. It's a very great, you know, I'll allow it that you say it every, probably every year around this time. Because it is, it is so good. It's ridiculous. Yeah. I love it.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Yeah, I enjoy that movie so much. And then, you know, it's Christmasy without, it doesn't really belabor it. Yeah, it's just a reminder that Christmas is a ramped. Yeah, it's because, you know, the setting. I kind of think if you do a, you know, action movie, that kind of thing that involves a small child, then it's a good idea to, you know, have it be around Christmas time just to raise the stakes. Yeah. I like to think at the pitch meeting, they were like, and by the way, Christmas is around. Oh.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Sold. You know, they may even have, like, decided to shoot it. Like, it's supposed to be, like, in the northeast, right? So maybe they had scheduling had to shoot it in winter, so they're like, F it, let's say it's Christmas. Yeah. But anyway, great movie, great start. Joey, what would you like to recommend? My favorite Christmas movie of all time, jingle all the way.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Oh, that's great. That's one of those they don't make them like they used to movies. I heard they're going to remake it with Glenn Powell. That's one of those movies where the charm of the movie is completely lost if Arnold Schwarzenegger talks normal. If he doesn't sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger, that movie is not enjoyable. But him just screaming, Jimey, for half the movie keeps it going. I feel like they've either remade it or they're about to. What?
Starting point is 00:15:09 Yeah, I feel like I heard Rumble. that they're going to remake it. And I was just like, well, so it's going to be a dumb movie without a dumb, you know, voice in the lead role. You know, they'll put somebody that's actually somewhat sympathetic because that's the other funny thing about that movie is that you don't really feel bad for Arnold Schwarzenegger when all this stuff is happening to you. Yeah. You know, you kind of take, especially if you're Jeff Tate, you take Sinbad's side. always and now it's like just it's going to be the rock and Kevin Hart isn't it
Starting point is 00:15:44 god damn it you know what you're right right is that what's going to be they're going to put it in the fucking jungle aren't they I do prefer when they make movies together because they're easier to avoid them that way I think the greatest tagline of all time
Starting point is 00:16:01 was for central intelligence and it said sometimes saving the world takes a little heart and a big Johnson and I think that's the whole reason they made that movie was so that poster could exist. And that would have been on every t-shirt, everybody in the ninth grade war.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Central intelligence was what that was called. I thought so. Yeah. No, I'm just, I still can't get over that there's a comedy with those two knuckleheads called Central Intelligence. Like, two least funny words you could have.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Bizar. All right, Kevin. What have you got? All right. So I had a couple, okay? And but then I, okay, so I both got taken. No, immediately actually, rare exports came because you said season, and that's the director. And I'd love that movie. And then that connects with Crampus. But then when I heard Long Kiss Good Night, I was like, all right, I'll go and die hard.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Hell, yeah. Right. Die hard. People say, is it Christmas? Isn't it? I believe it's a Christmas movie. McTee. so it was a Christmas movie so for me it's a Christmas movie
Starting point is 00:17:11 this might be like the triple crown of action Christmas movies yeah yeah yeah you know and they you know kind of increase in violent levels of violence if you went if you went jingle die long kiss good night
Starting point is 00:17:30 I also say oh and also die hard McTie right Rennie Harlan die hard too long kiss goodnight the connection sure but and then Arnold with mcte of last action hero predator right so that's all connected the thing I say about diehard is I was a I was an usher when we when we were at the continental in Denver when it's screened in 70 millimeter and at that moment we were supposed to get red heat and we were all pumped to get red heat and at the last moment they were like nope you're not
Starting point is 00:18:03 getting red heat we're going to get die hard like die hard it's like yes the guy from moonlighting, you know, and it's like, oh, no, it sucks, you know. And so everybody was just, this is so lame. And so we go, they have a screening for the employees before it opens and it just gobsmacked. We're just like, oh, my God. So that movie was a huge hit. And then that weekend, the manager thought he was cool and he wanted to do the, he want to be the projectionist. So he fired our projector, projectionist, and he was the projectionist. And the, the film gets, catches on fire and so it's date night Friday night at 8 o'clock and the film starts catches on fire he's like Kevin go out in front of everyone and tell him that uh we won't be able to screen it
Starting point is 00:18:50 tonight and we're going to refund tickets i was like uh okay i like just shuffled down talk to the audience i'm like ladies and gentlemen uh you know today's uh show to die hard is not going to and they're like you suck and they just start throwing stuff and it was i thought you were going to say that he asked you to go down there and act it out for them oh god that would have been worse i would have been uh yeah just go just don't let out the whole story start with quenching your toes on the carpeting um yeah that movie like when that when it came out uh when the trailer was out people in theaters were laughing at the trailer like the slow motion shot of him jumping on Bruce Willis jumping off the building and you could see like he's got like kind of a you know a dad bod he's got like kind of a flabby gut that shot people just laughed in hysterics like can't believe they're trying to make this guy into Schwarzenegger and then the movie was turned out to be amazing that's I mean I was already a lot like I wasn't alive when that movie came out so for me it was I didn't even know that was a part of it at all that they thought he couldn't be in action here he was badass
Starting point is 00:20:00 It was interesting because, Doug, you're right. The trailer comes out. And I remember people at that time, they said video, you know, they'd scream in the theater video because that's where they thought it was going to go, whatever. And then that movie came out and they did advertising wrong with Fox. The first poster, if you can look it up, it's like 12 terrorists, one cop. That's the odds he likes it or something. And they went and destroyed that campaign.
Starting point is 00:20:24 So they took all the posters and destroyed them. And they told my manager, like, you've got to just dump them. So he puts them in the dumpster. And, of course, my friend and I at night go in and grab like 15 up of them. Whoa. They redid the poster. And it's now that it's the one with a half face of, it's like black and white. That was a redo of Fox because Fox, the whole advertising was off, you know.
Starting point is 00:20:48 So, yeah. They were like, we got to get our building into the, into the advertising. Yeah, it's really a story of a building. But it's a character of the movie. Yeah, well, that's the fun thing about Nakatomi Plaza. It's really just like a fox building that's like looms over the fox lot where moonlighting was filmed. So you could step out of the moonlighting sound saying you look up and see Nakatomi Plaza.
Starting point is 00:21:19 It's kind of wild. Man, so we've got to actually look down on moonlighting instead of the metaphorical way he had been doing it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. well those are three great recommendations for the holiday season so enjoy those everybody and also enjoy these commercial messages today's episode is brought to in part by shopify the origins of douglo's movies were once but a dream that dream turned into the podcast and business you're listening to today starting your own business is a dream

We are back and I've got a couple games playing.
Starting point is 00:24:45 for us today and the first one oh I got to write something down really quick here so you know just like the introductions the starting order in our first game is going to be alphabetical by first name so it's Jeff Kevin Joey
Starting point is 00:25:09 wait no Jeff Joey Kevin Kevin see i told you i needed a second to figure that out all right your letters are all very close to one another in the alphabet the first game we're going to play today is something that i call o'connell o'connor
Starting point is 00:25:35 two great actors easy to mix up i'll name a movie and you tell me if it features Jack O'Connell or Josh O'Connor Oh man. Or neither. So... Either?
Starting point is 00:25:55 First, neither. So I'll say the name of a movie. You tell me if it's O'Connell O'Connor or neither Jeff is up first. If Jeff misses it, then Joey, you get a 50-50 chance at getting it right. And if Joey misses it, then Kevin
Starting point is 00:26:12 gets a give-me-point. every time someone gets one right we'll move on to the next person to start the next round you ready Jeff I describe these guys you know in a little bit more detail but then that would
Starting point is 00:26:26 discussion about it would give away the you know potential upcoming answers so just stick to the movie at hand and the first one is Emma with a period
Starting point is 00:26:43 That's how the punctuation of the title of that movie is Emma, period. O'Connell, O'Connor, or neither. I'm going to say O'Connor, that's O'Connor. It is? Yeah, 100%. You're saying it with confidence? Yeah, we're not. Well, because you've never seen Emma, that's why not.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Yeah, no, I'm pretending. Well, good job, buddy, because O'Connor is the correct answer. Yeah. I'm still doing it. You are on the board. Yay. Moving on to Joey. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:27:27 O'Connor, O'Connell, or neither. Florence Foster Jenkins. Ooh. Florence Foster Jenkins. I'm going to be real honest, have not seen. that one. Nor can I even tell you what it is. Who's in it? I'm going to go Jack O'Connell, final answer. You don't know anything about Florence Foster Jenkins, the name that trips off of my tongue like I say it every day. No. Lawrence Foster Jenkins. Okay. And you're going with O'Connell? Yeah, but I feel an
Starting point is 00:28:05 Arab disappointment in your voice. So it makes you ask you that. It makes me want to say, you know what? My gut said neither. I'm going to say neither because I don't even, yeah, neither. Okay, so you're going with neither? That's, yes. Final, final, final answer. That is incorrect. Damn it. Kevin, is one of them's in it.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Is it O'Connor or O'Connell? O'Connell. Also incorrect. Oh. Jeff's walking away with this thing. It's my guy O'Connor. You guys don't know how much I'm into this O'Connor fella. All right, Joey, it's back at you again.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Hell yeah. O'Connell, O'Connor, or neither challengers. Oh, that's O'Connor. It is? It's his. You're sure. That's the only way I know who that person even is, I think. That's what's really brought attention to you.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Yes. In that movie about the two spaceships that exploded? Wait, wait, wait. No, I'm kidding. Challenger's the sequel to Challenger, but they had to make up a second. Why do we send them up at the same time? Yes, O'Connor is in Challenges.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Congratulations, Joe. You got that one right. Thanks, man. Moving on to Kevin. Oh, no. O'Connell, O'Connor, or neither Unbroken. O'Connell. That is correct.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Jeff, for the win, if you get this right. O'Connell, O'Connor, or neither. Dunkirk. What's that? Oh, it's O'Connor. You're saying O'Connor? Yes. Incorrect.
Starting point is 00:30:07 Joey. Man. Joey? Oh, I muted myself because I was eating a chip, you guys. O'Connor is who, what are my options left? I got a cluster when I realized I was on mute. Jeff said O'Connell. O'Connor then.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Incorrect. God damn it. Oh, he gets the point. It's neither. nice yeah i thought dunkirk was the perfect movie to like you'd go well either of those guys oh yeah oh yeah they both have old-timey faces yeah absolutely they're both good at that kind of that kind of uh that kind of thing uh all right so we're back to jeff again again this is for the win jeff sinners
Starting point is 00:31:05 damn it Benners What's that? Okay I'm just I'm vamping right now Okay Because I'm going to say O'Connell On this one I think it's O'Connell
Starting point is 00:31:16 Why'd you have to vamp Because I couldn't Remember the names They're real close together I was That was correct Jeff you are the winner Of O'Connor
Starting point is 00:31:32 O'Connell The game that will never be played again because we used all of the movies they've been in that anybody's ever heard of. Florence for Lester Jenkins was that movie where Meryl Streep was a bad opera singer but she was a rich lady so she
Starting point is 00:31:49 got to be in operas but everybody hated how bad her singing was. No, not ringing any bells. Yeah, and Emma of course was a Jane Austen thing and Challenger's was that three-way tennis movie. Challenges is a three-way tennis movie and
Starting point is 00:32:05 Marty Supreme is a one-way Big Kong movie. It's going to be a two-way pickable movie coming out next year. War Prisoner movie. O'Connell was really good in that and Sinners was
Starting point is 00:32:22 O'Connell was the lead vampire spoiler alert. And then if we had needed another one, I had O'Connor is currently appearing in the Wake Up Dead Men in the third Knives Out movie. And he's really good in it.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Like if they gave Oscars for somebody for just being charismatic and just being a good lead character, he could win. But instead, it'll go to somebody who did a lot of screaming or whatever. I think O'Connell's in the 28 years later, too, right? And he's taken over. He was in the last one at the back. Now he's going to do, he's going to be one of the leads and the new ones.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Yeah, because he's that bit like controversy. controversial character, like he's based on a real guy in England. It was like a pedophile and a weirdo. And so people are upset, triggered by that, you know. Prince Andrew? Yeah, that's the one. He plays Prince Andrew. No, he's, you know, he's been a track suit.
Starting point is 00:33:24 He plays that guy that was known for his track suits. Anyway, he's an incredible actor, very, very versatile. all right so congratulations though to jeff he won that game that means he gets to go first in our next game that we're going to play right after this break we'll be right back thank you to aura frames for sponsoring this show that is correct the hidden gem which has become the favorite gift long after that wrapping paper is gone everybody that's right it's pretty much the season for gift giving so why not give the number one rated gift. We're talking about the aura frame. It has unlimited free photos and videos. Indeed. You can just

And so a filmmaker that I think of when I think of movies that are just, you know, family-coded
Starting point is 00:36:07 and, you know, have the euletide spirit, if you will, it's a gentleman who goes by the name Christopher Columbus. And so I found a website that listed the top 10 Christopher Columbus movies. Not movies about Christopher Columbus. of which there are too many.
Starting point is 00:36:31 No. Sorry, fans of Christopher Columbus. No, the films of director, Christopher Columbus. Now, when I say director, I'm meaning that specifically. Films that Christopher Columbus directed. So that takes Gremlins out of the game, even though it's a great Christmas movie. It was only written by Mr. Culles.
Starting point is 00:36:58 Columbus, he didn't direct that one. The great Joe Dante did. So I wrote down this top 10 list. So you're going to take turns guessing the names of movies, exact titles only please, of Christopher Columbus movies, trying to guess the one that this website deemed the number one movie out of all of his films. If you get number one, you get 10 points. If you get all the way down to number 10, it's worth one point. And we'll start with Jeff, and then we go to Kevin, and then to Joey. You'll each get three guesses total.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Does that make sense? Yeah. Okay, so Jeff, start us off. Name any of the films from the Christmas. for Columbus universe filmography Armada he prefers to call
Starting point is 00:38:03 his whole thing in Armada I say home alone home alone is is that a Christmas movie or is it just winter time it's Christmas right
Starting point is 00:38:17 yeah yeah they're they're going to trip it's like it's a Christmas break trip right right but there's still a Christmas tree in the living room, right? Yeah. We're lucky that house didn't just burn down while they were gone.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Yes. Those Christmas tree fires are so tragic. Home alone is, of course, it's on the list. And, you know, one would think that everyone thinks very highly of home alone to this day, but
Starting point is 00:38:47 somehow it's number two. Yeah. Still a very strong start for Jeff Tate, because that's worth nine points naming number two. What do you think is number one, Kevin? Well, I was going to go with Home Alone, but since it's not, I'm going to go with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone. Bustards. Now, do you think that I should give you the points that go with that title if I wrote down Harry Potter and the Philosopher's?
Starting point is 00:39:23 stone. Well, wasn't that the British one that I'm American. You got to give it. I'm American. You got to give it. I think the book is called philosophers. Okay. And in England, I think they refer to it. The movie is that as well. You should probably try to
Starting point is 00:39:40 dig up some posters for that. Okay. With the wrong type of stone. But it's funny, the website that made this list, wrote it down as a philosopher's Stone, but I don't think it's a British
Starting point is 00:39:56 website, so that was a strange mistake. But anyway, Kevin, out of the gate, you absolutely nailed it. That movie is number one on the list as the greatest Christopher Columbus
Starting point is 00:40:12 movie. It's a great movie. It really is. What was that? Was that number was that the first one? Yeah. Yep.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Okay. That's what I thought, but I wasn't absolutely sure about that. All right, Joey. I was going to say goddamn Sorcerer Stone, too. Yeah, that's a great guess, I guess. I don't know. My mind, if I was playing this game, I don't know if I would have gone there,
Starting point is 00:40:43 but I also wouldn't have maybe not remembered philosopher or sorcerer. Because all those titles really, really blend together for me. But lots of movies to choose from still from Christopher Columbus, who I met not too long ago, and an extremely nice individual in a social setting. Joey? I'm going to just follow her up with Harry Potter in the Chamber of Seeks.
Starting point is 00:41:12 That sounds like a very racist installment of Harry Potter. Secrets Is the correct title And it of course is number three on the list This is really I don't know if we've ever played this game Where the three I guess all nailed the top three
Starting point is 00:41:37 In the first three guesses This is an impressive start And it's still anybody's game These scores are so close as a result so we're back to you Jeff unless you have anything more to add about Harry Potter do you watch do these children you hang out with
Starting point is 00:41:56 do they are they Harry Potter fans yeah they they love it I don't I've never watched it with them when I'm around him and we're watching stuff we got like I'm the one that has anima maniac so they're so into watching that whenever I'm around oh just repeat it like watching it over and over again
Starting point is 00:42:13 well I mean it's good There's like a hundred episodes. It's going to take a while. But yeah, they've just put it on. And they're laughing at stuff I didn't. That show is four adults. I don't know why I liked it when I was a kid or why they're even laughing. Well, because they, you know, they move around.
Starting point is 00:42:29 You know, they make faces a lot. They, you know, they are both animated and maniacs. Yeah. I mean, you're having a good point. You know what I mean? Those are two things kids love. Yeah, they keep their promise. An animated character, burps or farts.
Starting point is 00:42:44 The kid is just in, just in the rapture. I've never felt like a funny, like a better comedian than when I'm around them. I can fucking crack those kids up all the time. Are your fingers tired from being pulled? No, I don't give them the warning. You give them the heads up and it's less funny. Right. You know, they're less likely to get pink eye if you warn them.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Okay. Jeff, have you thought about these Christopher Columbus movies? Yeah, I'm going to take a shot with Mrs. Doubtfire. Oh, that was the one I was going to do. Two. That is a pretty, you know, seemingly obvious one. And, you know, like, oh, these lists are such, you know, clickbait or whatever. They're, you know, trying to get people riled up and argue, no, that should be number four, not number five.
Starting point is 00:43:43 but that's the case with Mrs. Downfire. It is number five on the list. So that's worth six more points. Nothing to sneeze at. Nothing to sneeze at. See if somebody unearths that number four movie, though.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Kevin? So that was going to be the one, but I'm going to go with Adventures and Babysitting. It's first movie, I believe. This is his first movie. Adventures and Babysitting. surprised me, but apparently not you, Kevin, for coming in at number four.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Wow. Very nice. And what was Delphire? Delphire was five. Number five. We've got the top five. I thought Doubtfire would have been. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Yeah. The three of you have nailed the top five. So let's say. That's pretty impressive. But let's see what Joey has to say next. I know. You know, honestly, you guys, I didn't know he directed adventures in babysitting, so pulled that one out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:44:55 I'm going to go to the movie starring Daddy Trump, Home Alone 2, Lost in New York. Have you seen Adventures in Babysitting? It's Christina Applegate, right? No. Then no. It's a list of, a bit, it's you.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Oh, same thing, but no, I have not seen it. But also, like, the supporting cast, the other people of all, they all end up being, you know, working more, being in other things and stuff. And it's, I think it holds up pretty, pretty nicely. Yeah. You know, it's, it's a silly movie for sure. I assume there's, like, babysitting and, like, shenanigans and adventures and stuff. yeah it's like uh these kids straight up get the babysitter and the kids just really get involved with like organized crime and like running for their running for their lives but like the little
Starting point is 00:45:52 girl the littlest of the kids that's being babysat uh is it's just so cute because she spends most of the movie in a thor costume so it's this little girl that's always saying thor shit so it's pretty funny it sounds great put it on the list My own description Makes me want to take a nap Like that sounds like a good movie to put on Cancer Fusee's
Starting point is 00:46:24 You won me over Home Alone 2 colon lost in New York Is number six on the list This is crazy This is really going to come down to Who could sniff out Some of the you know, the lesser ones, we'll say...
Starting point is 00:46:42 You're going to look at who wrote the article and it is the three of us. It's what the three of you thought. All right. Has anybody seen rental family? I have a screener, but I haven't seen it yet. It's Brendan Fraser as an actor in Japan, and he gets hired to pretend to be
Starting point is 00:47:09 somebody's husband and a father of several kids and it just really struck me how Mrs. Delfar, it was like Mrs. Delfar out of drag essentially, because basically a guy lying about being in this
Starting point is 00:47:25 family, they paid to do it. It's a weird movie, but I still, I kind of liked it, but I also I'm just always rooting for Brendan Frazier, you know, because I just I always thought he was so great
Starting point is 00:47:40 and then he got derailed for a while there. Speaking of being derailed that's what's happened to this game. Jeff, you've had time to think about it. This is, you've got 15 points so you're currently in second place
Starting point is 00:47:58 and so it really helped for you to put a few more points on the board. What is your third and final guess of Christopher Columbus films? rent it's a little early in the month to be talking about that well I assumed
Starting point is 00:48:18 I was pretending that you're the last little jag you took was a hint and I know he didn't direct derailed so that'd be funny if I just straight up said the title of one of his movies just in what I was rambling
Starting point is 00:48:36 about but But rent, it kind of surprised me that it was on the list. I mean, to be honest, because I feel like it was, I'd file it under, you know, nice try, you know, of adapting that particular show. I don't think they really nailed it. I can't blame Christopher Columbus entirely because looking at his filmography, I don't know why he was hired to do it. But that being said, it's number nine on the list.
Starting point is 00:49:07 That's two more points for Jeff, and that puts him at 17 points, which is a tie with Kevin. So we might have to settle this tie somehow. If Kevin right now can't name either number seven, eight, or ten on the list of Christopher Columbus movies. All right, so I'm going to go with nine months. nine months starring Hugh Grant Julianne Moore Jeff Goldblum
Starting point is 00:49:44 Tom Arnold set in the streets of San Francisco and featuring a shirtless Jeff Goldblum it was during Jeff Goldblum shirtless phase it was a shirtless phase it was a shirtless
Starting point is 00:50:02 It was the shirtless trilogy, I think. It was the fly, nine months, and Earth Girls are Easy. But I'm sorry, Kevin, to say that that movie did not make the top 10. No shirtless go-bloom on top 10? I know. It seems crazy. Okay. But you're still tied for the lead here.
Starting point is 00:50:31 We will settle that. somehow if joey let's see let's add this up joey's got 13 points so you need uh basically five points to win so you do not have a chance to win but you could tie it up if you name the number seven movie on this list what do you think it is okay well i know there's a lot of tension right now but i'm going to be real honest you guys i was so worried kevin was going to say the only other movie I know that Christopher Columbus directed. And thank fucking God you didn't say.
Starting point is 00:51:09 And I'm only 80% you directed this, but Bicentennial Man. Right? With Robin Williams or he's a robot? Yep. It was indeed directed by Chris Columbus. Honestly, that was the biggest worry is that I was going to say a movie that wasn't directed by Christopher Columbus.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Yeah, it does feel like it could have been somebody else. I'm pretty sure. Absolutely. Yeah, okay. My palms are sweaty again. And another case of, much like rents, I sort of feel like it was a little bit of a misfire, but I know some people think fondly of it. I think if it's not Mark Wahlberg's first acting role, it's close to it.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Is it? I think so. Yeah. I think, oh, Chris Columbus. Yeah. I don't know. But, yeah, I mean, he certainly, you know, just off of just having written, Gramlins really, you know, was big for him.
Starting point is 00:52:07 And so getting to the director's chair was not that, I mean, I don't know his story, but I feel like it wasn't that tough. But I feel like places were really excited to work with him. But Vicentino, man, is number seven. No way. That's amazing. It's true. So we have a third.
Starting point is 00:52:31 three-way tie at 13 points each. But much like in like soccer or maybe baseball, we're going to go into extra quarters, which neither those things do. Jeff, if you can name one of the two movies still remaining in the top 10, I will declare you a winner of this entire
Starting point is 00:53:05 entire game the only one I can think of I was going to use as a joke answer in pixels I think he directed pixels because I watched it and I remember and I remember being like
Starting point is 00:53:22 oh this seems like a worse movie than this guy usually makes all right that's not on the list so now Kevin gets a chance can you name another Christopher Columbus movie yeah I'm going to go with this
Starting point is 00:53:42 let me see if it's going to be on the list Percy Jackson and the Olympians the lightning thief I believe he did that well not only did you give us the correct but you gave us the number 10 movie on the list so that adds one more point to your score
Starting point is 00:54:05 and just because it's such an exciting finish uh joey if you can name the number eight movie i can all but guarantee i cannot um i am like you have a guess or you just out he that movie that movie where Goldie Han and Kurt Russell played Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus on Netflix. Do you directed that? Maybe he didn't. I don't think so. I think it would be, well,
Starting point is 00:54:38 I don't know. Christmas Chronicles is what it was called. But I didn't know Chris Columbus directed it. I thought that that was like the big thing. He might have you know, because. But it's not on the list. By your surprise I was like it's not on the list.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Christmas Columbus. Christmas, Christopher Columbus all sounds good together. Okay, well, that was a shot in the dark, so I cannot, I don't think I can name another Christopher Columbus. I appreciate you making the shot. Jeff, you haven't thought of another one, have you? Yeah. And Kevin, could you name another Christopher Columbus movie?
Starting point is 00:55:16 You don't have to. I'm just curious at this point. I'm going to go old school around the nine months era. I believe he did stepmom. stepmom is number eight on the list so you really you really rub salt in the wound and they're going to all the way home the three of you figured out the 10 movies in christopher Columbus's top 10 that's pretty impressive shows i have no life i think about that and uh that list was uh for anybody who's curious who came up with that list it was collider oh uh those bastards
Starting point is 00:55:54 I don't know why they said Philosopher Stone. I don't get what was going on there. Well, congratulations, Jeff. You are a winner, and that means you get to do your plugs first. And I assume that we're going to continue to say, watch Pig Hill on digital or VOD tomorrow. Yeah, absolutely. And then, you know, there'll be other, you know, it'll move on to, like, is going to be like a, you know, a streamer's going to have it later, but
Starting point is 00:56:25 don't mess around with, don't worry about that now. Just get it on digital or VOD tomorrow. It's called once again Pig Hill and thank you, Kevin Lewis, for being here. Thank you, Doug. Thanks, guys. I had a really good time.
