Starting point is 00:00:00 Doug hates candy wrappers, screaming baby, sticky seeds with 50 acid pop or kernels in his teeth. There's still not one that he won't see, cause Doug loves movies! Hey, hey, hey everybody! My name is Doug and I love my mama. This is Doug Loves Mommy coming to you once again from Get Your Shotsville for another Homes Alone edition. It's Sunday, May 9th, Mother's Day 2021. And my guests today are Nikki Bond, Amy Miller, and Jeff Tate. Yay. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:45 It's like maybe that's something I should throw into the pre-show conversation, is everybody should just like cheer or something when I say that, because everybody doesn't know what to do. So it's always a real mixed reaction of like, well, am I supposed to talk or is he going to keep going or what's happening? But let's do meet everybody individually and alphabetically, starting with returning champ. Nikki Bond is here hello champ oh wow that's the first time i've ever been called that thank you it's good to be back wait you didn't have a dad who made you toss a ball around some once in a while no he left he left but now he's back he uh still doesn't do much though oh okay well you should
Starting point is 00:01:29 try to get a hey champ out of him because that was uh that was a real go-to for wayward dads i'll definitely try that on the next episode of my podcast for sure yeah they they're you know their time with you so brief they'd really try to pump up your ego by calling you a champ but you truly are a champ because you won the games portion of the show last week so that's the the prize is you get to return once again and then you actually said yes yeah well yeah this is a big deal it makes are you are you prepared for this to drag on and on? Would you be comfortable being an eight or nine week champion if it went that way? A hundred percent. I think that'd be the best bit that's ever happened, honestly.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'll keep coming back. Even if I don't win, I'm just going to show up and say, you said I was the champ, so I'm back coming back. Even if I don't win, I'm just going to show up and say, you said I was the champ. So I'm back. Okay. Yeah. Well that's, you know, that's the thing about zoom is, you know, you're, you're welcome to hang out, but we, we have a mute button. And you of course are the host of the whoa dad podcast, which has a very interesting premise.
Starting point is 00:02:48 Yes. Speaking of my dad, that wasn't a rant to call him champ and give me abandonment issues. He's a rock and roll. He's a jazz drummer mostly, but he left and then he came back. And so now I have a podcast where i teach him how to be a father that's so great i realized i had to do it because he has no clue but also like just one day he saw a show like he came and saw my stand-up and afterwards his way of complimenting me was like i don't know why you doubt yourself because obviously i'm depressed and i'm a comic he's like you got what it takes you're hilarious and you look sexy on stage and i was like no dad no you can't call me sexy like that's not i'm not on the road with you
Starting point is 00:03:39 we have a podcast now i would say i I would be surprised if a jazz drummer stayed around. I feel like it's very on brand. It's true. It's true. Listen, Amy, don't let him off the hook. He's got to follow the beat, man. Right. And it's like that'd be a cliche for jazz musicians.
Starting point is 00:04:00 That'd be a cliche for drummers. But a jazz drummer. Oh, Lord. Well, thank you for being here. And we will see if you get to come back another time very soon. Also joining us, also joining us is frequent guest pre and post Pando ppp yeah you know me it's amy miller yeah pandy baby yeah host of the who's your god podcast yes also recorded without being able to see each other people people don't love it all the time
Starting point is 00:04:46 but i love it if if the camera was on right now i look so crazy i don't know that you would work with me again so it's just better happy mother's day to everybody i do some Mother's Day shout outs shout out to Mickey Miller yeah she has a man's name so what good mom she doesn't listen to this oh shout out Cinda who does listen to this she's a great mom and go Buckeyes she lives in Ohio
Starting point is 00:05:18 it's Adam's mom not mine but my mom doesn't listen and she does so honestly shouldn't have even wasted the time shouting out my own mom yeah i you know i just let you do whatever you want because people won't even hear this till mother's day is over because it comes out tonight at midnight midnight um pacific time so uh but it was still a fun ride and uh i i i expect many more little journeys throughout the show today and uh thank you for being here and i must also welcome i don't know how long it's been but but I call it too long. Jeff Tate, everybody. Tate, Tate, Tate, Tate, Tate, Tate.
Starting point is 00:06:09 That's nice. I could do some more of that in my life. Yeah. I mean, Nikki could probably use a little less of it right now. One player chanting another player's name. But, you know. For the fans, Doug. But that's, yeah, that's the thing when you come in, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:06:27 as, as champion, you have to be ready to, uh, to face that. And, uh, I think today's going to be a lot of fun. What's going on, Jeff. Are you, um, you know, you got more shows coming up, eh? I saw your guy, you got some, uh, something you were promoting. Yeah, I got shows coming up in June 18th and 19th in my own neighborhood, five blocks from my apartment. Oh. Where? A place called Chameleon Pizza. But they have a side room that's set up like a comedy club.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Nice. Yeah. The shows are at six and eight, so I'm hoping that that changes. Let's get it to at least 7 and 9. I'm going to go talk to him tonight. I don't want to have the whole first show done
Starting point is 00:07:15 while it's still light outside. That seems insane. Pizza is a great addition. I love chameleon pizza even though it you know changes flavor from slice to slice oh yeah you gotta keep you gotta keep your hands on it because you'll lose it in the table that's not my slice that's a piece of wood just a piece of wood it's a good comedy club it's got nice lighting all the comics look sexy so
Starting point is 00:07:46 everyone looks great everyone looks great in the reflection of pizza wood it's a real slick greasy wood all right uh box office report time uh jeff are you gonna see this movie wrath of man it's a uh michael ritchie jason statham collab um it's guy ritchie michael ritchie directed bad news bears and why do you know that because I'm looking at a bad news bears movie poster right now he loves that movie but they are they are different people absolutely
Starting point is 00:08:32 I'm absolutely going to see that movie I mean you know at least I didn't say Lionel Richie if Lionel Richie directed a crime thriller hey listen are you going to see Wrath of Man directed by Nicole Richie? Yeah, Michael Richards directed it. It's pretty controversial.
Starting point is 00:08:55 I get my riches mixed up. That's why I have wide-roled dogs, because we really work this stuff out over there. But on this show, we just move on willy-nilly after all the mistakes but i will say that that movie that we're speaking of made eight million dollars according to box office mojo making it the number one movie in the in the country right now another thing i noticed that i thought was kind of interesting is that the godzilla versus kong movie is at like uh 92 million so it might creep over the 100 million mark and certainly be the first movie to do that uh since uh the pandemic
Starting point is 00:09:33 started in live theaters but only in the u.s uh domestic yes and uh yeah and theaters you know so much so much of the country has had movie theaters open for a minute but we've here in southern california they all just opened i still haven't gone i'm waiting waiting for the right movie wrath of man would be kind of an interesting choice because the last movie i saw before never getting to go to a movie theater again was uh guy richie's last movie the gentleman right like did he have this done already how did he do this i don't know he just made another you know the guy just makes movies his job that's why they call him guy because he he's the guy who does stuff that's how he stays so richie
Starting point is 00:10:26 all right this is the part where we visit recommendation nation i ask each of my guests to name one movie which is amazing how many people offer up more than one after me saying that very specifically just one movie, but you know, again, especially with Amy Miller, you could do whatever you want. I love this new rule. I didn't, I thought you were aware of it. No, that makes it worse that I was doing all that stuff. Right? No, you're, you're always a complete delight.
Starting point is 00:11:09 We're just having fun as we usually do. But Nikki's going to go first to just tell us, just recommend a movie. It's no pressure. Okay. Creep. Whoa. How do you feel, first of all, about have you seen and does it measure up creep too i have i don't think it measures up but i enjoyed it almost okay not it's not almost as much but i really enjoyed it i wasn't i was like oh i'm still having a good time. But I think the first one was.
Starting point is 00:11:46 It's really it's interesting you said that because I don't know if it's a trigger per se for Jeff. But I was I was there with him in a motion picture theater when during the film Creep at one point he he ran from the building. It's really creepy. To not return. I saw him the next day. He ran from the building. It's really creepy. It's so good. To not return. I saw him the next day. Wow, Jeff. I had a meeting.
Starting point is 00:12:13 I had a 1 a.m. It was a midnight show. Yeah. I forgot I had plans at 1. I had to split. I was really enjoying it. I expressed my regrets. Did you ever watch the rest of it?
Starting point is 00:12:28 Oh, man. I have a lot of meetings. Oh, yeah. I want to. It is just a movie for people that want to be startled every eight to ten minutes. And feel unsettled the whole time in between.
Starting point is 00:12:44 It's not like in a horror, horror, classic horror movie, you get these relief moments where you're like, oh, they're eating dinner now and everything's fine. I can take a break. My cortisol levels can dip back down. But this is just nonstop stress on your body. There's like, it's so good. I'd be addicted to CBD after watching this.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Like I just was taking CBD every five minutes. I'm on heroin now. Thanks a lot. They should have called the sequel creep to again. There's going to be more of that. Like no one figured out that guy went missing. Hey, no spoilers. I haven't got to the end of the first one yet. Oh my God. Maybe Jeff, when they, maybe when they get to, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:36 when they get around to doing a third one, when there's been a trilogy, that seems like a good time to jump on the bandwagon of one of those, do a podcast where you watch a minute at a time and really stretch the attention out through the, through all three films over, over years of podcasting. All right. That's a great one.
Starting point is 00:13:58 That's a great one, Nikki. Thank you for that. Amy, what do you think? Well, it took me a while to get to it but I finally watched
Starting point is 00:14:07 the little things last night which people probably know about but I found it wildly entertaining like I thought it was very good especially for a movie that you know who did it right away because he's famous you know what I mean like
Starting point is 00:14:22 I'm not spoiling anything but you see jared leto you're pretty sure he did it um i i thought it was so good i love i was like very weirded out by that um freddie mercury being a cop he what's his name again rami malik yeah it's like he never takes the teeth out it seems like but yes i didn't buy it fake yeah it's weird but that's just his mouth i um just keep waiting for him to go i've done my sentence no crime he seems like a guy who got beat up as a kid by the people that ended up cops more than like believable as a cop but once you suspend your disbeliefs yeah oh man interactions between him and denzel are really good like yeah i i really liked it plus bakersfield let's shout it out we need more movies that shout it out also i there's so many times that i've like driven over the grapevine and stuff where you look at those like
Starting point is 00:15:33 random exits and you're like oh this would be a great place to do something creepy like i don't know i love that i got to see that it's. It's a terrifying part of the state. I haven't seen it because I think I screwed up and missed the HBO Max window. I think it was only free on there for a month. Yeah, it's like five bucks now. Yeah, okay. I can do that. The little things or just little things?
Starting point is 00:16:01 The little things. Okay. That's one I haven't seen. So let's see what Jeff's got in store for us. What would you like to recommend, Jeff? I saw Nobody
Starting point is 00:16:16 since I was on the show last. Oh, boy. That movie kicks ass. It is so much fun. So fun. Is it super violent? Yes. It's as violent as you know how when there's violence
Starting point is 00:16:35 in the little things, it's that, but there's a lot more of it. That happens more often. Where are you at, Amy, with the films in either the one Atomic Blonde or any of the John Wick movies? Don't watch them. Yeah. See, this would probably fall in the same category. It's pretty, pretty constant mayhem.
Starting point is 00:16:59 But in between the mayhem is just, you know, it's Bob Odenkirk. in between the mayhem is just, you know, it's Bob Odenkirk and, uh, and, uh, you know, the guy who directed, uh, you know, other great action movies, just, you know, it's, it's really silly, you know, ultimately, but it's just so much, it's such a fun movie to watch, but again, uh, violence, if you're, if you're not into the, uh, super violence, then that that's going to be an issue i can fast forward through some parts i want to see it you'll be fast forward through a lot of this movie yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:17:31 yeah but it's like that you know one of the things i loved about it it's been out long enough now that i i don't feel this is too spoilery but uh is that um bob's character is like Kevin McAllister from Home Alone Grown Up because he he sets some fucking traps that are hilarious. He's got a big Michael Jordan cut out. Yeah, no, he does. He has a whole dance party in his living room, a fake dance party with a mannequin. It's really, it's really very funny. You get excited and you're like, Oh, I'm going to go cut a rug. And then you hit a trip wire and cabal.
Starting point is 00:18:20 It's wild. A bluey cabal. All right. So Jeff's going with nobody. We got nobody, creep and the little things. It's really it's really three movies for anybody who just wants to see the worst that men can be and do. Do you like having a stomach ache watch these movies how violent do you want it yeah oh goodness oh is it too late to ask if they would call the third
Starting point is 00:18:57 one three come on oh they gotta they gotta have they gotta have fun with it because Creep 2 is just Creep 2 right? or just Creep but make one of the E's a 3 oh no David Fincher stepped in and it's gonna be in black and white and it's gonna be about a liquor bottle
Starting point is 00:19:23 what is happening going to be about a liquor bottle. What is happening? Oh, I know. A commercial break. We're going to go to a break and then we'll be right back. We are back from the break and it's time to play some games starting with a new one that I call Did You Hear About the Morgans? Yeah, I heard that they're in a crappy movie.
Starting point is 00:19:52 Some movies, the title asks the question. The title asks the question of the viewer, the reader, you know, whoever comes across it. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to try to answer that question without giving away explicitly what movie we're talking about. And then each of you will take turns guessing what movie it could be. These range from maybe there's one or two easy ones to
Starting point is 00:20:26 a lot of really difficult ones. Oh, no. But again, you know, Nikki, I think you didn't fare well in the first game last week. You know, it's that second game that really matters. So don't... There's no pressure in this game.
Starting point is 00:20:41 It's just for the fun of not being good at it. I like the premise. I do too, but we'll see how it works out. It's interesting because these might be too annoyingly difficult. But I don't know. I beta test this shit on the air. Start with Nikki.
Starting point is 00:21:06 If she misses, then we go to Amy. If she misses, then we go to Jeff. If everybody misses, no one gets the point. We'll play it first to two points or if we run out of these because nobody can get them.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Sounds promising. I've got a plan for everything and probably should keep some of that information in my head. I could just do it instead of describing it. Alright, here goes. Nikki gets the first one. Sorry, everybody.
Starting point is 00:21:43 The movie asks a question and then my answer is it's probably right where you parked it man dude where's my car that is correct oh my god I knew you were gonna do that one first god that is correct I should yes I should have just done
Starting point is 00:21:58 that as an example but I put it in I put it into competition so Nikki Nikki just you gave it to this special but I put it into competition. So Nikki, Nikki, you gave it to the special kid. You like, you know what I'll give you? Handed you a remote controller. That's not plugged in Nikki.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I win. I win. I'm smart. Yay. Game over. but i got i win i win i'm smart yay game over i'll see you next week thanks for having me which one am i which one am i all right so i forgot to mention there's penalty points for being too funny. And so I have to give out a few of those. All right. Nikki has one point. Amy gets to go next for this next question and answer.
Starting point is 00:23:00 If she can't get it, then Jeff gets the next shot. The movie asks a question to which I respond nobody in particular it's just a literary reference who's afraid of Virginia Woolf that is correct wow
Starting point is 00:23:19 you did it Amy you gave me an easy one, too. I don't know. I don't know. That's the thing is I don't know how easy these are. I mean, that was a black and white movie from 1961 or some shit. So those are the only two I could think of. So next time it's going to be interesting.
Starting point is 00:23:43 That's what happens. That's what happens to me when I'm watching Jeopardy and they have a category like this. The ones I think of before they even pop up, you feel so smart for knowing those when they happen. Yeah. And then the others, you're just like, I don't know. But it's all still very exciting to me.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Have you ever been a Jeopardy answer? I don't think I have, no. I haven't. You think Ken Jennings would slip it in there? Yeah. But yeah, I don't think I have. I mean, now maybe my chances are better because, you know, like, I don't know. yeah i don't think i have i mean now maybe my chances are better because you know like i don't know i don't know what how their the writing approach would be different with these
Starting point is 00:24:28 new uh all these rotating hosts but like it feels like the questions are getting a little more into areas that alex wouldn't you know necessarily know what the hell they were talking about um current weird you know expressions and stuff you know, yeah. Like it's lit. When somebody on that show is buzzing in and going, what's Hey Boomer? You're really getting into some more current trivia. All right, here we go. Number three goes to Jeff. Both Nikki and Amy are on the board.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Jeff, this one goes, ask a question and I say, because daughters often... Wait, what? Oh, great. It's going good. Oh, great. It's going good. Oh, man. Okay, I got it.
Starting point is 00:25:30 I got it. Because daughters often pick men their fathers don't approve of, is my answer to the question. Well, because daughters often pick men their fathers don't approve of. Might be a better line.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Can you do it in like a Latin accent? I don't think so. I mean, you shouldn't. You didn't say try it in a loud accent you asked my what i thought my abilities in that area would be tell you flatly i don't have any um you don't have a guess oh i think that oh wait wait is it why him that is correct i stalled just long enough to stop thinking about harry crumb
Starting point is 00:26:28 oh my god you would be a jeopardy champion if you were allowed to just filibuster with jokes until you were ready to answer the question it's a two-hour episode every night some portions have been edited that don't affect gameplay and it's all that i can't wait until this takes on that turn where these are going to be very difficult i think this is i think this is where it's going to happen nikki um my answer to the title question is it's pretty funny the way I do it. It's pretty funny the way I do it. What's eating Gilbert Grape?
Starting point is 00:27:50 That's such a good guess. what's eating gilbert grape that's a win seriously oh my god it's so funny whenever i whenever i annoy Gilbert Grape. Most people, when they eat Gilbert Grape, it's not pleasant, but it's pretty funny the way I do it. No, that's not the answer, but it was a great answer. I wish I could give points for great answers, but I don't even,
Starting point is 00:28:05 I don't even know who to ask to be, to be able to add that. Uh, cause I'm not ultimately in charge, Amy. Uh, it's pretty funny the way I do it. What movie title do you think would be,
Starting point is 00:28:22 uh, getting that response from me? I have no idea. I have nothing. I have nothing. Question mark. Oh, that's yeah, that's a good guess. Incorrect, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Is it what's love got to do with it? It's pretty funny the way I do it. love got to do with it it's pretty funny the way i do it uh well just if anybody's wondering my answer what's love got to do with it is well it's most of it when it when we're talking about marriage yeah it has a lot to do with it it's pretty much the whole that's the reason um but this it's pretty funny the way i do it is uh my answer to the movie question how funny can sex be i've never even heard of that yeah i wasn't aware until now that there was a movie called how funny can sex be and uh so i I thought that was that was perfect for this.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Nikki, we're back to you. Oh, God. OK. Nobody, nobody got to point that around. So it's all good. But here's another toughie, I think, but a real descriptive one. So I think if anybody's seen this movie, they'll know the answer. But that's going to be the keys. I think if anybody's seen this movie, they'll know the answer,
Starting point is 00:29:45 but that's going to be the key is having seen it. The movie asks the question that I answer. Oh, he's been dead the entire movie, but Mrs. Hutchizer doesn't know because she's batty. Okay. I thought you were done and then you kept going. I know.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Right? Mrs. Hotchizer, whoever that was. Right. I feel like they don't say the name out loud much in the movie. So I think that's a terrible clue. I'm just
Starting point is 00:30:26 going to, you know, do a wild, wild guess. Oh, brother, where art thou? Oh. You know, that's the way to go, I think, in this game, is at least answer with something that is a question. And I thought of
Starting point is 00:30:42 that movie for this game, and then I thought, what would the answer be because who you know what i mean who's who who is the uh subject of the uh question what right right because are they are the three main characters are they brothers or are they just brothers in the sense that they're chained together oh it's you're doing your mistake in the line read that go it goes like this it goes oh brother where it's not i see they're not actually brothers no yeah it's more like oh brother oh brother like they they don't want to find each other. It's like when Willy Wonka doesn't say it loud enough when he's like, don't do that.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Don't touch this. Oh, brother. Where are you? Okay, he's not here. Let's go. Whose turn is it? What happening oh jeff is uh who guessed our brother where i did okay so it's amy's turn sure is do you even remember the sentence yeah i mean i i have no idea the sixth sense yeah the dead you're you're running off of the uh the entire movie part which is uh you know that's good no idea that's not it uh jeff oh boy oh brother i don't i don't have any idea i don't even have
Starting point is 00:32:29 a guess is this what's love got to do with it uh no i'm i you know obviously the game is movies with it in the question mark which you know there isn't an infinite number of them especially ones that people know um so it gets a little tricky but this is a movie i just saw recently for the first time it's a movie people speak of quite fondly and i found to be uh very odd and uh you know so it came to my mind when i was putting this game together and it's um it really is about how there's somebody is dead, but one of the characters is, you know, has dementia. So she asks for him all the time throughout the movie.
Starting point is 00:33:13 And her question is, where's Papa? Creepy. Yeah. That's what Nikki was saying for a long time. Yeah. It starred George Siegel and Ruth Gordon and was directed by Carl Reiner
Starting point is 00:33:30 and is this really wacky comedy with some stuff that has not aged well including treating a woman who's clearly mentally ill like, oh, I just have to, this woman's crazy. I just have to get her
Starting point is 00:33:46 out of my life i mean he literally like just tries to throw away his grandmother and it's all played for laughs it's just like wow he keeps he keeps treating her like she's being crazy on purpose like it's a choice like he keeps it's basically a movie where his grandmother keeps cock walking him and he's just basically like stop cock blocking me and she's just like where's papa like he thinks she thinks her husband is still alive and then he's
Starting point is 00:34:13 yelling at her for cock blocking it's the craziest movie I'm triggered I apologize yeah you should have made the answer he's playing jazz baby Apologize. You should have made the answer. He's playing jazz, baby. But anyway, that's also a massive spoiler to that movie. So I apologize to anybody who still had that in their queue.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Next up is Nikki once again somebody else is going to get another point I swear but it's also fun it's fun to end this one in a tie I think too because it is a tough one Nikki what movie ask the question and I respond
Starting point is 00:35:02 not quite hmm the question and I respond not quite. Mrs. Hochschiser doesn't know. Are we there yet? That is correct. That is it. That is correct. That is it. So good.
Starting point is 00:35:26 That is correct. Wow. This whole time they're really good. What was the sequel to that movie called? It was called Are We Done Yet? Are We Done Yet? Oh, God. I guess they are. I don't think they made a third one.
Starting point is 00:35:47 The marketplace soundly answered that question. Yeah. Well, let me just say that Nikki, you did it. You won that game. Wow. Congratulations to you. But also I've got one more of these. And like I said, it's not a deep well so i don't know if i'm ever going to play this game again but if i do and jeff's not there i'm definitely going to play oh who's harry crumb and i'm going to say i'm going to say a detective who lives on more than crumbs all right so no and then nobody will get it because jeff won't be there to know that it's
Starting point is 00:36:30 all right um but let's play this last one just for fun you gotta go first amy let's see if you know this one because i think this swings back into easy territory, but I could be wrong. But I don't get a point. You don't get anything for this. Should we pass it to Jeff? No, I want to do it. Hey, listen, if you don't... Movie asked a question and I say, oh, he seems a lot less crazy than his doctor
Starting point is 00:37:09 for one thing. What about Bob? That is correct. I've had that conversation on this show before that Bill Murray's the villain in that movie because all he does is show up and just gaslight this shit out of Richard Dreyfuss. It's true. I had that and Who Framed Roger Rabbit in my head remaining. So this worked out great.
Starting point is 00:37:41 I had Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Oh, that's a good one. What would Roger Rabbit, would the answer be Dr. Doom? Is that the answer? Yeah, Christopher Lloyd. I was hoping you would say it so I would finally know who it was. I'm not entirely sure who I know. I know Doom is the bad guy, but is he the one who framed him?
Starting point is 00:38:05 It's a weird title. Yeah. Yeah, it is. I think they had. I think they had played around with a different title than that. And, you know, then then landed on framed because it was more family friendly. But that has I love that movie just because it's really it's really kind of aimed at no one in particular you know what was the non-family friendly title who fucked roger yeah yeah who uh
Starting point is 00:38:36 who cornhole i don't know um yeah i i forget but i think i really do think they they knocked around a different title before arriving at that. I don't know. Did you know that movie is based on a book? It's for real based on a book called Who Censored Roger Rabbit? There you go. See, Jeff, you had the answer the whole time, but you were just sitting over there doing something else. It's trying to figure out who did it.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Yeah. Yeah. Who Censored. trying to think of who did it yeah yeah who censored so that kind of especially for that movie doesn't really make any sense I bet you the movie do you think the book had all the stuff about you know for big boobies transportation systems in Los Angeles. You know, cause the movies, the movies kind of about how there was supposed to be trolley cars all over Los Angeles. And it didn't happen because of like water company concerns or some, you know, it was just the highway, the highway,
Starting point is 00:39:39 the highways wanted to come in and it follows. It's, it's, it's strange because it's kind of like if they had ever made the third chinatown movie it was going to be about highways yeah so it's a movie has really peculiar uh origins it's it's very strange but i'm glad we got to the bottom of the original title question um because also who framed who censored roger rabbit also just said why would you take your kids to a cartoon that has the word censored in it like oh no like you know we're gonna notice what was missing you know like is pepe lepew gonna catch somebody and then they cut away wait maybe amy's right and the word censored is like on top of whatever word it was maybe the title is who fucked roger rabbit and
Starting point is 00:40:32 they just put the word censored on it yes oh yeah maybe oh man wow that's a point, right? It's just a series of punctuation. All right. Nikki Bond is our winner going into the next game. Everybody does all that needs is you get to go first in our next game. And we got to get right to it. But first, a quick commercial break. We'll be right back. it but first a quick commercial break we'll be right back we are back and it is time to play mother's day yay we're taping this on mother's day so i thought i'd give some moms some play i will say a fact and then you one at a like that last game, you'll tell me if it
Starting point is 00:41:26 applies to the movie Mother's Day starring Jennifer Aniston or Mother! That's, you know, of course with an exclamation point starring Jennifer Lawrence
Starting point is 00:41:41 or both. Okay. It's true. starring Jennifer Lawrence or both. Okay. Okay. It's true. It's true. They have some things in common. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:55 Can't wait to find out what they are. Yeah. So it'll be the same order as before. We'll start with Nikki. Then we'll go to Amy and then to Jeff. And if a person misses, the next person gets a chance. But of course, in this game, the third person gets the lucky gimme point if they're paying attention. If they're Trey Galleon, they might not get it.
Starting point is 00:42:20 It only happened a couple of times. It only happened a couple of times. I was on Indica that day. All right. Here we go. Nikki, Mother's Day, mother or both? The film is one hour and 58 minutes long. Mother.
Starting point is 00:42:51 That is incorrect. Amy, is it Mother's Day or both? One hour, 58 minutes long with credits. Both. I just felt like being crazy. Jeff, I've got good news. I like the risk, Amy. I like you.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Yeah, that was a really, that was a great risk, but it didn't pay off. Jeff, she's wrong. What's the answer? Mother's Day. That is correct. Yeah, you're on the board, buddy. Back to Nikki. Fact number two. This movie.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Has Kristen Wiig in it. Mother's Day, mother or both? it. Mother's day, mother or both. Mother. That is correct. Ooh. Okay. Even though you did pull back a little bit on the exclamation point.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Right. You were pausing a lot. I got nervous. i was trying to go with the tension okay yeah is what if they if they'd use the question mark instead that would have gone into that last game and the answer would have been one hell of a fucked up movie that's what mother is all right uh but here we go i actually saw mother with uh with the aforementioned trey gallion maybe that's what mother is all right uh but here we go i actually saw mother with uh with the aforementioned trey gallion maybe that's why i popped into my mind um so nikki just got the point so amy it's you get to go first okay got an eight percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Oh, no. Rotten Tomatoes is the classier version that you can only get into if you're a member of Clubhouse. Fuck. I'm going to go with both. I would love that if I found two movies that both got the same horrible amount on Rotten Tomatoes. That would be so crazy.
Starting point is 00:45:11 But another bold guess on your part, Amy. But incorrect. I dare say both of these movies, you know. Anyway, I won't say anything more. Keep it fair for the other two players. Jeff, what do you think uh amy guessed both but do you think it is mother's day or mother eight percent i'm gonna say mother's day Mother's Day. That is correct. Yeah. I like your Howard Dean, yo. I just don't trust myself to say mother correctly with that exclamation point.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Oh, so that forces you to answer the other one. That's because they were that one. It did fare much better with the critics than Mother's Day did. Mother's Day was like, if you read the reviews, they're pretty funny because they're pretty savage. Because the movie just feels like everybody just got together just to hang out. And making a movie was like their third or fourth priority after picnicking and kickball or something. fourth priority you know after picnicking and kickball or something but um but anyway uh did we watch that movie together one time jeff no i've never seen it oh okay because i did a interruption of mother's day uh and uh i think it was in denver and i couldn't remember if you were there or not. But all right.
Starting point is 00:46:45 So how are we doing on time? Oh, we're running out of it. That's how we're doing. But let's play a few more rounds because I love this game. Nikki's up first this time because Jeff just got that point, right? All right. So Nikki grossed $48 million worldwide. $48 million worldwide.
Starting point is 00:47:28 I don't even know what that means. Okay. Mother! Mother! Incorrect. Okay. Amy. I mean... Do you think they both gross the same amount
Starting point is 00:47:45 it's possible doug it is possible especially society's a point anything it could be within within a little range even but okay what's your answer i'm gonna guess mother Day, but if you're tricking me, I'm going to be really mad. You're going to be mad at me for doing what I came here to do, but you are correct. It is Mother's Day. Mother only got $44 million worldwide,
Starting point is 00:48:20 which I would have thought that movie would have played better in other countries just because it didn't feel like watching it here. I didn't feel like it was in English. I felt like it was just mostly like everybody that knows the Bible could just follow along with all the visuals and the dialogue didn't matter. with all the visuals and the dialogue didn't matter. But who got the point there? Amy did. Okay. Jeff.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Was nominated as worst film of the year by the Hawaii Film Critics Society. So the critics in Hawaii got together that year and nominated this movie for worst. So I'm not saying whether or not it won. So
Starting point is 00:49:20 both could be nominated or Mother's Day Alone or Mother. You know what? I'm going to So both could be nominated or mother's day alone or mother. You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to take a page out of Amy's book and say both. They're both pretty bad from what I've gathered. You should have, you shouldn't have just taken a page. You should have read the whole thing because it doesn't work out in the end.
Starting point is 00:49:43 That is incorrect. Amy's books got some real twists and turns what if he took the last page when you take a page from somebody's book there's a lot more twists and turns after that page probably i shouldn't have took it at random. Oh, shit. I took the epilogue. What am I going to do with this glossary? Does the glossary go at the end still? Is that a thing? I still have more of these. This is.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Oh, I said that was incorrect, right? Yes, you did. OK, so we can move on to Nikki. I'm glad I didn't say anything more about it. Okay, I'm going to stick with my same answer, as I've said in everyone, because I'm not taking risks. Mother! Mother!
Starting point is 00:50:43 That was incorrect. So, Amyy you have to say it happy mother's day everybody that was great it's for the moms yeah they work so hard but you know like on jeopardy or wheel of fortune that you'd be disqualified for adding a word that wasn't part of the answer. I know. Good thing I'm not on those shows. Such a good thing you're not on those shows. Why haven't you, what's holding you back from doing one of those shows? I've tried to get on Wheel of Fortune many times. I never told you this.
Starting point is 00:51:19 I think you did. What's the problem? Why do you think you're not getting up? I don't know. I want to do it so bad yeah now i think so great i probably now i feel like i wouldn't have a chance because nobody knows who i am but there's like enough information online that might disqualify me like either i have to delete everything or get famous enough to be on like a comedy episode of will of fortune otherwise i you know i don't know right yeah no it's definitely a career goal for anybody to like it to be uh on celebrity versions of those things i think that that looks like so much fun but um but yeah i i keep seeing comedians pop up like
Starting point is 00:52:06 price is right is one where i keep seeing comedians on it i'm like damn drew is really good at like either just you know going through the show just not trying to recognize people or he just you know has met enough comics in his life that just because somebody's a comedian he doesn't necessarily know them but i'm like going that's that comedian I know. It's happened to me a bunch of times. You're not supposed to know the host of a game show. No, they probably don't, though.
Starting point is 00:52:34 I think he either doesn't know them or he's just like, cool, and just goes into well, I'm not going to act like I know him. I'm just going to treat him like a regular contestant. He's pretty removed from stand-up. I just want to say, if you have neverant. He's pretty removed from standup. Just, I just want to say, if you have never seen a clip of Josh Androsky on prices,
Starting point is 00:52:49 right on mushrooms, please look it up. Cause it's one of the best. You have to be on mushrooms when you're watching it. He's on mushrooms on the price. I see. And when drew asked him, if he wants to say hello to anybody,
Starting point is 00:53:02 when he's spinning the wheel, he says, I just want to say hi to everybody who loves music. It's one of the best things ever. Josh Andrews, if you want to look it up. I love that. I love like every once in a while, somebody will be like, I saw a guy recently just throw a bunch of his friends and family, but then like Ariana Grande at the end. And like stuff like that really cracks me up because like, yeah, just throw it out there. But music is just so, so vague.
Starting point is 00:53:36 It's hilarious. It is really high. Amazing. OK, we got to go. Shit. Let's see. Jeff and Amy are all tied up. Nikki's also got a point, so this is still
Starting point is 00:53:52 super exciting. Who got the most recent point? That was Amy that said Mother's Day. Yes? Jeff gets to go first on this next one. If he gets this one right, he wins. The fact is was nominated for three Razzie awards.
Starting point is 00:54:21 The award you don't want to get unless you've got a really good sense of humor and can show up and smile about it. I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I mean, there's a good chance this one's both. So I, you know what, I'm going to say mother's day. There's a good chance. one's both so you know what i'm gonna say mother's day there's a good chance this is both i'm gonna say mother's day say that's incorrect. And Nikki?
Starting point is 00:55:09 Mother! Is correct. We have a three-way tie. Oh, no. Oh, boy. A three-way tie. We're going to end this thing real quick. Real quick-like.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Because Amy really has the advantage here because she gets to go first this next round. If she gets it, she'll be the first to three points. We're almost out of facts about mother and mother. Amy. Yes. Released in 1916.
Starting point is 00:55:49 What? What? 1916. Jesus. What? This is the first movie. If this was a game where neither was an option, I would have got burned real fast.
Starting point is 00:56:10 But it's obviously not both. But which one? 1916. Which one was released in 2016, five years ago, 2016? I'm going to go with. Mother's Day, Mother, or Both? Mother. Incorrect.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Jeff. Oh, boy. I'm going to say both. Incorrect. Nikki. Oh, no. The champ. Way to go, champ. Oh, way to go,
Starting point is 00:56:46 champ. Mother's Day. What? It is Mother's Day. Nikki is once again our champion. Can you come back next week, Nikki? Yeah. I'll be here. Okay. All right. I'm writing down.
Starting point is 00:57:02 It's official. I'm such a phony. It's a binding contract this is one remaining one that i had that we didn't get to is uh some people like it some people hate it i am one of the latter both and the answer is finally it's both this whole time yeah yeah that's both and um yeah and then also uh if we needed it i had top build is uh the top build actor is a woman and that is true of both of those films um jeff tate what do you got to plug buddy June 18th and 19th the chameleon pizza I'm doing stand up
Starting point is 00:57:47 time the times of the shows is to be determined yeah not to mention what the pizza looks like right it's good pizza though everybody just show up at 7 instead of 6 if you want to come to the early show yeah
Starting point is 00:58:02 look at his way that's a good point that sounds like a good idea uh amy miller what do you have to plug june 11th and 12th i'll be in fort collins at the comedy fort buy tickets for that. And I'll be in San Diego on June 18th. And you can look at my website, amymillercomedy.com for both those dates, plus DC and more.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Doing comedy again. It's very weird. Yeah, come out and see her. And go to her website and see if she's in your neighborhood. Are you getting out there uh nikki bond yeah i am gonna be doing supernova in la at it's at no vacancy on wednesday the 9 30 show and i'll actually be in san diego on friday but guess what i don't know where. So, you know what? Come find me.
Starting point is 00:59:06 I don't know where it is. Is it like the Kimbles and Bits comedy show or whatever? No, it's not that one. Oh, okay. Maybe I'll try and get that one too. I know they're doing comedy at the Ritz Theater.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Okay, but I've got to guess, is it a ugly bug dinner dance? Yes. Is it that, is it that place? Um, all right. So yeah,
Starting point is 00:59:34 just so follow Nikki Bond, B-O-N on her, uh, on her socials and, figure out where to go see her, go figure out where to go see everybody. Cause if anybody's coming anywhere near you, that'd be a nice way to
