Starting point is 00:00:00 Doug hates candy wrappers, squeaky babies, sticky seeds with 50 azepop or kernels in his teeth. There's still not one that he won't see, cause Doug loves movies! Hey, hey, hey everybody! My name is Doug and I love scary movies! This is Doug Loves Movies love scary movies. This is Doug Loves Movies Scary Edition coming to you once again from me, Casa, and my guests is Casas for
Starting point is 00:00:32 another Homes Alone Edition. It's Friday, October 15, 2021. My guests today are Padgett Brewster, Brandon Collins, and Ricky Velez. Hello. Hey. Brewster, Brandon Collins, and Ricky Velez. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:51 Thanks for being here, all of you. I know it's always confusing who's meant to talk there when that part happens. Let's meet everybody individually and alphabetically, starting with, you know her from Friends, Criminal Minds, Another Period, this time we're living in now as well but mostly from doug lowe's movies it's paget brewster hello paget hey doug i like that our last names have worked out for us for uh titles and billing right alphabetically wise right at the top yep being great it's great when i think being a is a little too far too too close to the front i don't you know what i mean i don't need to be at the front of the line i just need to be able to see the front of the line easily and you know not have to wait too long yep um it's october paget are you watching scary movies because of the time of year it is i i
Starting point is 00:01:49 didn't start yet now i feel terrible i haven't started watching any scary movies yet i'm watching squid game the month's half over squid game is scary god you're right it's half over yeah and well thanks for reminding me i have me. I have to get working. Thank you. Well, you know, the 31st, that weekend, I think Halloween falls on a Sunday. So you could go nuts and just watch scary movies all that weekend. I'm going to start today. Or just start now, you know.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Yep. There's that one cable channel that has the 31 days of scary movies. They're just showing that shit all day long, which is great if you like commercial breaks. I do. But definitely be thinking about scary movies during this show today, because that will help a great deal.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Also joining us is our returning champ. Is this three times now champ it's the third time third time appearance from brandon collins everybody hey brandon what's going on man oh you know i've uh taken to calling you brando which i didn't really run by you first uh but especially just in private conversation i'm like yeah brando collins is going to be on the show again and um you know i feel like people are liking it but how do you feel about it i think it's very exotic you know brandon collins is a little bit too resume friendly so
Starting point is 00:03:16 brando collins kind of you're like oh it jumps out like why were you named brando and then you go oh i wasn't just doug benson did a typo one time he dropped he dropped the last letter so now i'm brando this is legally my name now yeah all right well i'm glad you're accepting all of this uh because i have some other changes i'd like you to make and we will get to those uh as we get to each other better. How has the last week been for you? Is anything, any updates? Was it a week ago that we played last? Or I guess it's been a few days. Yeah, everything blurs together, but it's been good.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I also watch Squid Game. So I agree. You don't want to be at the front of the line. You want to be in the middle because you don't know how the game's going to pan out. I've been watching a lot of horror films, even though it not like because it's halloween season it's just like i watch them regularly anyway uh but uh i recently watched the fear street 1978 movie and that was pretty good it's on netflix right we only watch one of the three there's three different years that they do right yeah i went i went back and watched that middle one because it's like a great homage to
Starting point is 00:04:26 like Friday the 13th and the killers actually like kill little kids. Not that that's something I want to see on a regular basis, but the fact that they went there and went, Ooh, this is a risky horror film. Yeah. It's interesting to see like three movies come out at once. That's sort of like,
Starting point is 00:04:41 Oh, well here's, you know, cause most horror movies will have like some sort of, you know, flashback or something. And this, and this one's just sort of like go well here's you know because most horror movies will have like some sort of you know flashback or something and this and this one's just sort of like well here we're just going to give you all these different time periods where these things happen and affect each other in some way and it was uh it was a lot to take in all because i watched them all pretty close together and it was just like watching a really really long horror movie
Starting point is 00:05:05 which is like not really what the genre needs can i interrupt and ask what this was called again fear street they're called they're called the fear street movies and they each of course it's terrible for me to have to try to remember the years but each one has a different year one takes place during like you know uh burn the witch times and then there's one that's like in the 60s and then one in the 90s i think yeah it's like 96 78 and uh 1666 wow thanks guys i want to watch that that sounds right it is it is kind of fun and they're you know because they do things tie in between the three movies, especially like the, the mythology of this particular killer. Um, so, you know, uh, but thank you for that, uh, Brando and, uh, see, I'm not even comfortable with it. And finally, a first time guest on the program program, his HBO special, Here's Everything, debuts on October 23.
Starting point is 00:06:08 That's super soon. It's Ricky Velez. Hello, Ricky. Hey, Doug. Long-time listener, man. That's amazing. I honestly do believe this might be the first podcast I ever listened to. That is wild.
Starting point is 00:06:23 My older brother showed it to me here look at this i mean yeah i guess sort of he's just somebody still got a point to point at something to get people into podcasting and so tell your brother i appreciate his uh his efforts his taste comedy is good too i'm a big fan dude this is cool thank you for having me well thanks for you know saying yes or i should say the other the other way around thanks for having uh publicists who reached out because this hbo special is is huge the ads are popping up everywhere now. I mean, it's a dumb kind of question that you get asked on morning television or something. But like, how excited are you?
Starting point is 00:07:14 I'm excited. You know, this is the first thing I've ever put on television that's stand up. So I'm very excited about that. I've been touring probably for the last six years without having to do any stand-up on television so it's exciting for the first one to be an hour yeah that's super cool to just so many comics have to do a bunch of shorter spots which are you know they can be really cool but i feel like the short sets like they don't really amount to anything in the end, you know, like it really becomes about these longer specials. And,
Starting point is 00:07:48 um, that's, uh, that's great. You got one on October 23rd on HBO. Does that mean it's on HBO max also? No, it's on,
Starting point is 00:07:57 well, it goes on to max right after debuts on HBO. Ah, okay. Wow. Really? Double, double dip in here dude
Starting point is 00:08:05 um and where where was it uh this one shot where'd you do it i shot it at brooklyn steel in uh brooklyn yeah that's where that is so it's got like kind of a indoor outdoor kind of feel no it's completely indoors it looks like a like a like a warehouse. Oh, okay. So tall ceilings. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We, I, they actually hadn't done the comedy special there yet, but I don't know if you knew him, but a few years back, my homie, Kevin Barnett passed away. And me, Che, Gerard, Carmichael, a bunch of people threw a benefit there. And after I did the show there, I was I was like oh I want to do a special here
Starting point is 00:08:47 so we went back and went there, sick. That's great, that's really cool that's a great way to find a venue and sounds like a cool space, cannot wait to watch it, thank you for being here today or wherever you are today. And before we play some games, we've been doing this part on the show called Recommendation Nation where I ask each guest to recommend one movie. And it can be any movie
Starting point is 00:09:20 at all, but since this is the month of October, we've made it a scary movie edition so i'd like each of you to just recommend one scary movie i don't miss mean for this to be like a gotcha question because sometimes it's it's hard to pick one but brandon i think knows this was coming because he was here last week and uh nervous and what'd you last week you picked uh the halloween the morning the most recent one yep yeah yeah uh so what do you think this time brandon man i'm actually gonna go with i still know what you did last summer which isn't really scary but it's so crazy like the elaborate scheme that the the killer goes through to get Jennifer
Starting point is 00:10:05 Love Hewitt and her friends on this remote Island. And then Chad Black's a Rasta dude for some reason. It is one of the craziest horror films I've ever seen. And I've seen it. And you're, and you think that like the first one you feel stands up, like, is this a regular.
Starting point is 00:10:19 It's pretty straightforward. It's pretty straightforward. And the second one is just so absurd. I mean, there's just just everyone on the island dies and then micaiah pfeiffer's just screaming the whole time uh therefore love he was gets in a bikini for some random reason even though it's raining the whole time it's so get out of those wet clothes and into clothes that are normally often wet.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, that's always a fun move. I still, that title just, I can't get over it to this day. I never understood. I still know what you did last summer. Because it's clearly been a couple summers now. I was going to say that, yeah. I still don't know what you did last summer.
Starting point is 00:11:03 No joke, when we started this and you started saying that scary movie thing, I legit thought we were talking about like the scary movies with Marlon Wayans for a second. I was like, Oh, this is a weird discussion. Yeah. Could you name your favorite of this? I am smoking. Don't get me wrong, but that one, I was like, I don't, I didn't watch all of them. think i got that out of number five ricky's like there's so many fuck that's that's all they've made is five so you're good you've knocked you've knocked them all out probably but they do get a bit repetitive and
Starting point is 00:11:38 it's that's what's funny to me about they're making a brand new scream but they're not calling it scream five they're just calling it screen five. They're just calling it scream, like pretend that, you know, but it's still got some of the characters from the first four movies. So that trail looks awesome though. I'm sure it's going to be a fun movie even, you know, cause if it turns out great, it's fun. It turns out bad. It's fun. It's just fun. I haven't, you know, I'm not a trailer watcher cause I,
Starting point is 00:12:04 I get too riled up by the things they spoil um you know like the trailer for i still know what you did last summer showed jennifer love hewitt a bathing suit so i was like well i don't even need to see this movie now uh because i saw the the weirdest part uh pageant yeah uh i'm gonna give ricky a little bit more time to think because he you know now he doesn't have to worry about it scary i know yeah but ricky i ricky i just found out that this edition of this show is about scary movies so we're we, we're both coming in cold. So don't worry about it. Yeah, no. And yeah, I need to talk to that PR company and get some more blindly into Doug loves
Starting point is 00:12:54 movies. Ricky doesn't mean anything. My PR reps said the same thing. She said, Hey, it's going to be a special event, but she didn't give me any details. I'll tell you right now. It's probably 100% in the email and i am just the worst at reading no there's no no mention of it i just um i just blithely assume that anybody that's on those movies is going to be able to handle uh discussing scary movies because
Starting point is 00:13:20 it's such a it's such a big part of movie going. Even if you dislike scary movies, we can talk about the ones that you dislike because they're too scary. Wow. And that's very exciting for people to hear. They want to hear about movies that are too scary because some crazy people like that shit. So, Padgett Brewster. Yes, Doug Benson. Just recommend a scary movie. I am recommending the exorcist three. And I don't know what,
Starting point is 00:13:50 I think it was early eighties or mid eighties. It was directed by, I know, I know it is a plodding, exhausting, difficult. You're really self indulgent. Well,
Starting point is 00:14:04 okay. It's because it's written by william blatty who wrote the exorcist and directed by william blatty and so there's a lot of speeches and i think it's george c scott and brad durif but within this long movie, there are three of the most frightening moments that are so brilliant that I always suggest people watch Exorcist 3. Yeah, like, that's what happens in a lot of horror films that I don't personally appreciate, is that they bore you so much they get so boring that then when something happens it's it's so startling how did they get
Starting point is 00:14:54 to a three like after the first one when they figured out like the cross like fixes it like well in part two starts in a town with a cross shortage but a lot of goats um yeah i don't know how and i don't know how far they got because there's you know because of like straight to video and cable and those kind of things over the years. Sometimes there's, you know, many sequels that we don't even really discuss to some of these titles, but I, I feel like exorcist three was this, this one was as far as it got, like officially.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I think that might've been the last one. And I don't remember too, obviously I've seen one several times and recently, but exorcist three is and listen it's not a terrible movie it's just it's self-indulgent because the writer directed it and clearly he didn't want to cut anything and he had two great actors who can handle a lot of dialogue so he he he didn't edit it into a thrill ride, but it is effective and haunting. All right. That should have been on the poster.
Starting point is 00:16:16 It's not a thrill ride. It's not effective and haunting. It is not. If you're looking for a thrill ride, go to a fucking amusement park. This is a boring movie that'll startle you three times.
Starting point is 00:16:35 I can't wait. Well, you know, part two of the Exorcist films is infamous for its fun subtitle, because subtitles weren't that big of a deal yet. To be called Exorcist II, the heretic was always a fun name to throw around. But what do you think there, Ricky Velez?
Starting point is 00:17:04 Do you have a scary movie suggestion to rival these two? I love all the purges. I love them. They're amazing. What's your top purge? OG purge? No, the one when they did it like it it was the, it was like solely in, uh, it was basically a kind of, it was kind of like when Trump took over.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Oh, that was the political one. They made the political one. Yeah. It must've been like, that must've been three or four. Do you know, Brandon? I think it might've been four because three is the one that's featured in Ricky's movie. King of Staten Island, I believe. Yeah. Right. So there's a little pop in there, Ricky. But I think it's the four.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Yeah, purges are good because they just make you think about what you would do. And I like that. You do kind of put yourself in their shoes, but don't you always find all the people doing the dumbest things? That makes you feel superior.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Like you feel good about yourself. Cause you're like, well, what I would do is yeah. Yeah. All right. We're calling it. I just always think I would need a motorcycle. Like that's the best, either that or a helicopter. But I don't have either of those things, so I'll probably just die from my neighbor.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Because that's the thing during a purge. Even if you're not normally a murderer, you're still like, well, hey, it's legal for one night. I might as well kill my neighbor. That's where you're still like, well, hey, it's legal for one night. I might as well kill my neighbor. That's where you get in trouble, though.
Starting point is 00:18:49 That's where you get in trouble. When you take that drug once. Right? It becomes a domino effect. You're murdering for less and less. Less and less of a reason. That first one is because they play bongos late at night, but then the neighbor next to them,
Starting point is 00:19:06 it's just because they're dog shit on your sidewalk once. All you had to do was kick it into the street. It was no big deal. Okay, so we've got I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Exorcist 3, and Purge 4. I love that they're all sequels.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Yeah. What about you, Doug? What's that? What about you? Well, that's, you know, I don't have to recommend one, but let me think of one just for the fun of it. I'm always looking for good, scary movies because I generally find them to
Starting point is 00:19:45 not, you know, horror movies to not be that scary. Some are too violent or have too much torture in them for my taste. But as far as jump scares go, I'm kind of over
Starting point is 00:20:02 that. You know, actually also I've got all these titles in my head because i've been preparing these games for today so i don't want to recommend something because it might tip you'll give it away it might tip something yeah you will you know which is a which is an excellent if you get a chance to like i wonder if when people met alex trebek for before a round of jeopardy they'd be like, Hey Alex, you learn anything interesting about geography lately? Then he accidentally reveals something. All right. Rest in peace, Alex.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Great work, everybody. We're going to play some games after this break. We'll be right back. We are back and this first game we're going to play today crowd favorite which is extremely weird when we're doing a show over Zoom because there isn't a crowd really called How Long Is It?
Starting point is 00:21:01 I'll name a thing. Each of you guess how long it is closest without going over Price is Right style wins and we go this first game starts us off I apologize to Ricky
Starting point is 00:21:18 but it's in alphabetical order that's me I'm ready. I'm pretty personal at this point. Don't worry, Doug. All right. It must happen, you know, with the last name that begins with V. Yeah. I wonder if there's a lot of serial killers whose last name begins with V, because they're just,
Starting point is 00:21:39 you know, they were just at the end of the line their whole life. Yeah. And then on top of it, they would sit you all weird in school because of it, too. Yeah. Yeah. You'd always be in the back of the room, which made you turned you into a comedian because you were back there making jokes. Back there being a bad kid, dude. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:58 All right. So Padgett gets to go first. So I made a number from Padgett, then a number from Brandon, then a number from Ricky. And this is what you have to figure out. Tom Hanks' first movie role was in a horror film called He Knows You're Alone from 1980. And my question is,
Starting point is 00:22:26 how long is it? In minutes. Horror film. The movie. How long is the movie? Horror movie. 1980. 96 minutes. 96 is Padgett's
Starting point is 00:22:43 guess. What do you think, Brandon? I'm going with 87 minutes. 87 minutes. This is interesting. Ricky, you can bid higher
Starting point is 00:23:03 than Padgett in between those two I mean dude this is really weird you can bid one minute this is really weird to do like on zoom because I can easily just look um yeah but don't don't don't be cheating over there
Starting point is 00:23:21 don't um um uh wait Don't be cheating over there. Don't. Wait. I'll go 78 minutes. Oh, you're calling it a tight one. I just realized my mistake. Well, they were
Starting point is 00:23:42 they kept them pretty short back then. Now they've creeped into like your your typical horror movies now are getting closer to two hours but like it used to be almost like a pact that they made that they'd keep them in the uh the 90 minute range that's if it's a film and not a short film which is usually what people have at the beginning of their resume myself Myself included. Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, I could have tricked everybody
Starting point is 00:24:09 and done a short film. Sure. Brandon is our winner on this game because it turns out it's 94 minutes long. 94 minutes. Yeah, Patrick, you were right there, but you did go over. So, Patrick, you were right there, but you did go over.
Starting point is 00:24:26 So, if I had that, Price is right in the way. Oh, here, how about this? Let's do this. Here we go. Yep. So, congratulations to Brandon for
Starting point is 00:24:41 winning that very silly game, and it means you get to go first in a game where it could be beneficial to be first. You may feel otherwise, but I'll tell you all about it after this break. We'll be right back. We are back and Brandon is still absolutely glowing from his win in how long is it? And it's time to play the game that will determine it all. It's a game called parental guidance. IMDB and other sites like to tell parents what to look out for when watching
Starting point is 00:25:32 a motion picture with their children. They tend to have very detailed parents' guides telling you every little thing they think the children should be shielded from, which gets more interesting over time because more and more things are more and more triggering to more and more people. We're all so much more open about it. So I picked movies where each round is a different movie.
Starting point is 00:26:04 where each round is a different movie. And I will read to Brandon first a warning, a piece of parental guidance about this particular movie. And it will be tough. It will be tough to get from the first clue. They get easier with each clue. And each person gets the first clue. They get easier with each clue and each person gets the extra clue. So then Ricky will get the second clue.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Padgett will get the third one. And if it gets all the way around to Brandon, the fourth clue gives it away. So Brandon will get the point probably. Are you out? No, you can guess wrong.
Starting point is 00:26:47 You just get to guess one title or just pass if you can't think of something. Everyone will get a chance to go first once, and then there's a tiebreaker if necessary. Let's start with Brandon.
Starting point is 00:27:04 As far as the theme goes, just don't forget what I've been saying the whole show about what month it is. It, of course, is... It's, of course, we're in the midst of TikToktober.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I just keep hearing about TikTok is all the rage I've got to figure out how to get involved alright really creepy that's why I haven't gotten involved I think I don't think I would want to see
Starting point is 00:27:39 I don't know you don't want to see me out there doing bomb dance weird dance moves Yeah, I don't know. You don't want to see me out there doing bong moves? You just bummed me out. Weird dance moves. There's a lot of people just dancing on the street and getting millions of views. It's very alarming. Dancing and hitting bongs now?
Starting point is 00:27:59 Yeah. I think I can make a strong run at it I think Okay so here's The first thing The first gentle warning About this movie And this is Brandon gets to guess A commercial of a prostitute
Starting point is 00:28:23 Is shown briefly In TV A commercial of a prostitute is shown briefly in TV. Prostitute. I assume that means that there's a scene in the background of a prostitute on a TV. And yeah, you guessed the name of the movie. I'm going to go with Halloween 3, Season of the Witch. I mean, I like the decisiveness of that guess, but it is incorrect.
Starting point is 00:28:48 It's alright. You gotta come out. Also, the confidence was pretty impressive. Yeah. I really liked it. There wasn't a lot of hemming and hawing. A lot of worrying about whether it's right or not. Just a great guess.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Now, Ricky gets that clue plus another one. The second clue is... Oh, I know that answer. Oh, you think you know it already? Yeah. Well, let me give you the second clue anyway just to, you know, it might sway you from your answer that you think it is. A woman vomits little amounts of a black blood-like substance well now uh yeah yeah see that's what happens i was gonna land the joke of scary movie too Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:49 She does have weird shit coming out of her, but that's not the movie I'm looking for here. No. Padgett? I'm ready. A woman threatens a young boy with a large kitchen knife.
Starting point is 00:30:09 I believe this is the grandmother. Again, with just the absolute confidence. The confidence of being wrong. Damn it. That was great. Now it comes back around to Brandon. And like I said, this is supposed to give it away, but I'm not perfect. Maybe it won't give it away.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Are you ready, Brandon? Sure. A warning that came up is this. One of the scariest moments in the film is a scene where the mother sees the Babadook crawl across the ceiling. Babadook. The Babadook is correct. Brandon, how did you do it? I was really nervous. I wasn't going to get it.
Starting point is 00:31:03 I know. I was really nervous. I wasn't going to get it. I know it's, it's kind of, uh, it's a little scary knowing that it's supposed to be easy. Cause you know, that's, that's why I'd never go on. Are you smarter than a fifth grader? Um, I've done a few episodes of these men. You're really good at like being very nice, but creeping on someone's anxiety. Like I was freaking out over here. Well, let's see how you do in this next round where Ricky gets to go first this time. So Ricky gets the gimme if nobody could figure it out. Clue number one, Ricky is somebody thought that the world needed to know a woman gets out of bed with some cleavage
Starting point is 00:31:51 seen. Maybe I said that wrong. A woman gets out of bed with some cleavage seen. Some cleavage seen. I don't even know. Yeah. I guess it narrows it down a little bit. It can't be a horror movie that has women in it. Is it Get Out?
Starting point is 00:32:20 That's a great guess. That's a great guess because, you know, Alison Williams or somebody could have had her cleavage out. Yeah. But I'm going to go incorrect. Padgett. Yep. Here's the next clue.
Starting point is 00:32:38 A woman. God, this movie's got it in for women. A woman turns into an ashy skeleton. Queen of the Dead. Okay, I have a question for you after I make this noise. What's Queen of the Dead? The movie based on the ann rice novel oh queen of the damned yeah but uh alia right yeah and then you see what what happened with that title that's not funny um that's all right i just didn't know you know i'm still not that familiar with i'm a little bit
Starting point is 00:33:29 more familiar with uh queen of the damned um than uh queen of the dead but uh either way that's not what i was looking for and now we go to Brandon yeah oh your clue is these are tough he's scared what is it all it says is
Starting point is 00:34:04 no nudity what so yeah so somebody managed to make a horror movie with no nudity I find that hard to believe I'm going to go in the same line as the last suggestion
Starting point is 00:34:22 and say interview with a vampire no I'm going to go in the same line as the last suggestion and say, interview with the vampire. No. Remember the lady that the little kid vampire took? She was naked in the bed surrounded by stuffed animals. I was trying to think if I saw any, any. Yeah. All right. Paget. Oh, no. Ricky. Ricky. Paget.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Oh, no, Ricky. Ricky. Sorry, Ricky. Ricky gets the now this is supposed to give it away, Ricky. So I hope I hope that's true. I don't like. Yeah. OK, let's try it. Let's see. All right. Freddie makes a suggestive gesture with his tongue towards a woman. Oh, Freddie.
Starting point is 00:35:11 I think I got it. I got it. It's Freddy Krueger. Right. Yeah. What's that movie called? Well, I'm blanking right now.
Starting point is 00:35:25 I know it's crazy. The pressure. I know. This podcast can really put it on you sometimes. Yeah. Elm Street. Elm Street. Nightmare on Elm Street.
Starting point is 00:35:39 There we go. Yes. That was like a nightmare in and of itself. That's like a nightmare. There's no nudity in and of itself. That's like a nightmare. There's no nudity in any of that? I can't remember it. What's that? There's no nudity in that.
Starting point is 00:35:52 I think what happens is there's a scene where there should be nudity, where there isn't any nudity, so they're pointing out that that scene doesn't have nudity. But yeah, that was a confusing one for sure because i i think that movie has nudity but i'm not positive well but there are i mean there are five or six of those so i think originally it started out the franchise was so strong because it was for kids in that and in like 12 to 14 yeah i think it R, though, because there was so much blood. Yeah, because isn't there just blood just spewing out
Starting point is 00:36:30 of somebody at one point? Yeah, the bad... I think that's when Johnny Depp gets killed, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you're right. You don't see him naked. Pity. Damn it. Damn.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Alright, so congratulations, Rickyicky you pulled that one off you know gets to go first in this third and final round this may this might lead to a three-way tie then well we will settle it we will settle this hash today. A man, Padgett, watches a woman undress. Oh, no. Hold on a second. um um um uh what was the Michael Caine
Starting point is 00:37:33 uh dress to kill oh yes dress to kill with Michael Caine yeah is that it ouch no I'm sorry I'm glad you got there though thank you I'm glad you got there, though. Thank you. I'm glad you figured it out.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I think a man watches a woman undressed would certainly be something that happens in that movie. But now Brandon gets the double clue. He gets the second clue. In the parlor, there is some paintings of nude people. Very hard to see nipples.
Starting point is 00:38:16 They really go heavy on whether or not nipples can be seen. That's really wild to me. What difference that makes to protecting your five-year-old, I don't know. Huh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I'm just going to throw this out there. Bram Stroker's Dracula. Oh, I like that. Because it's very gothic. There'd be paintings. I remember there was images in the background where clearly people were naked. I'll throw that out there. I think that was a terrific guess.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Incorrect, though. Ricky. Here we go. To take it, right? You could take it if you could figure it out from this terrible clue. The violence is not graphic um halloween that's terrible it's very graphic but uh yes that's incorrect, as you imagined.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Padgett. Yeah. You get the easy clue. I hope so. I think so. I think you'll figure this out. Okay. You ready?
Starting point is 00:39:36 Yeah. The most graphic scene in the movie. And then I swear to you, it says then in parentheses because of the violence. So it goes, the most graphic scene in the movie because of the violence is the classic shower scene. Oh, psycho. Psycho is correct. We've got a three way mother grabbing tie. So exciting.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Wow. What an exciting, scary movie edition of Douglas movies. It's hard to see nipples. This is true. Janet Leigh, you know, she's a shower scene. That's very fair. There's a lot of talk of what you can and cannot see of Janet Leigh in the shower scene
Starting point is 00:40:27 and it's like, well, the movie was intentionally made so you couldn't see any nudity so that they wouldn't get any trouble with the Hays Commission or whatever it was called. So, you don't see anything, but it's funny that these people are falling over themselves going,
Starting point is 00:40:44 I think I see part of a nipple. It's like, so what? It's supposed to be a naked lady in the shower. It's weirder. It's like the kids should be going, why doesn't she have nipples? You know, like it'd be weirder to, it's weirder to not see them. What is that famous story with that, that, that, that shower scene was something like 78 shots or something. It's a lot of different cuts yeah yeah it all goes by so fast you're like i swear you it feels like you even see like bush at one
Starting point is 00:41:12 point but you don't you know that's that's just a sponge just sitting there all right so um where were we oh yes tiebreaker yeah yeah this is very very exciting so basically the tiebreaker comes down to this brandon gets the first shot at it because he did come into this game as our winner. And I'm sad to say that happy for Brandon and his ongoing winning streak, but sad for Padgett and Ricky because it feels like he should be able to take this one. Because we start with the one and only clue. If Brandon doesn't know it, we'll go to Ricky. But the one and only clue
Starting point is 00:42:08 for Brandon is the movie can be traumatic for people swimming in the ocean. Oh, God. Jaws. What's your official guess? Jaws.
Starting point is 00:42:25 What if it was Jaws 2 or 3? That would have been a twist. I mean, it was. No, you're correct. It is Jaws, which has some of the funniest parental guideline things that I've read. So I'll definitely work that back into the game at some point. But congratulations, Brandon Collins. You did it again.

Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. So that's Sunday night. If you want to watch Bob's Burgers and go, oh, yeah, it does sound like Doug. Does anybody here and thanks again, Ricky.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Does anybody here have a favorite last line in a movie? I know Brandon's heard me ask this question a couple of times. I end every episode now with a final line from a movie, and of course I have one selected for today, but I always like to ask in case anybody
Starting point is 00:47:59 has a good one. Can't think of anything. Yeah, same. I forget what the last line was of King of Staten Island. I think it was just Pete. The girl.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Yeah. What does Pete say at the end of the movie, you think? I can go grab the script if you want to make this go hey let me ask you a weird uh question can i ask you a weird question please go for it i mean you're close with pete davidson yeah yeah how's the tattoo removal situation coming along is he really getting them all taken off he's doing his thing man yeah yeah because that shit is nasty getting

I just get tattoos, get them removed. It's a wonderful, wonderful process. It's for the
Starting point is 00:49:30 person who likes the feeling, but also likes the impermanence of being able to change your tattoo constantly. I guess that's what temporary tattoos are for. Thank you again to all my guests, Ricky Velez, Padgett Brewster Brandon Collins
