Starting point is 00:00:00 With a $5 meal deal with new McValue, you pick a Mcdouble or a McChicken, then get a small fry, a small drink, and a four-piece McNuggets. That's a lot of McDonald's for not a lot of money. Prices of anticipation may vary. Mcdouble meal $6 in some markets for a limited time only. Hey everybody! Last Monday we were supposed to tape an episode of this show that was also going to be live streamed, but unfortunately not enough tickets were sold for in person or streaming, so we had to cancel. Apologies to everybody who bought tickets, but I was able to get two out of the three guests we had booked for Monday on the show today, so let's do this. Doug hates candy wrappers screening baby sticky seeds with 50 as it pop or curdles in his teeth. There's still not one that he won't see. Cause Doug loves movies.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Hey, hey, hey everybody. My name is Doug and I love movies This is Doug loves movies recording on Sunday April 27th 2025 and my guests today are Sam Levine Bobby Moynihan and Ellery Smith. Hello Individually alphabetically, sorry Sam, by first name. It's been a while, but he's made four appearances on the show. And this my fifth? Am I in the five timers club? That's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:01:42 It's Bobby Moynihan five timers Club. I did it. Amazing. We don't have any robes because of budget cuts. Understandable. But congrats on not only that, but being at and on SNL 50. How amazing was that? Oh, dude, I was nuts. I'm still recovering. It was insane Well, right and not you're recovering emotionally. It's not like you got fucked up or anything I did mushrooms and mescaline and cocaine all rolled into one It was just a big like snowball hostess treat and I just ate it No, um, yeah, no, it was absolutely insane. It was a weird weird experience. Yeah, I bet
Starting point is 00:02:29 About to mention the pressure of you don't miss the pressure of live TV. Do you? Uh, no, well you realize your body at you realize it how old you were when you did it I'll tell you that also the craziest thing in the world was Sitting down feeling very relaxed and cocky right before I was about to go on and sitting down and going like well My old stomping grounds time to time to go out there and do it And looking out of the audience and realizing that they were all 20 feet closer and it wasn't a studio audience It was like mcjagger David letterman called an o'Brien, Cher, and they
Starting point is 00:03:05 were all like eight feet away. That was wild. It was truly nuts. It was nuts. They didn't do like award shows and have rehearsals with cards showing the faces of all the people. I didn't know I was in the show. I didn't know I was in the show when I flew in like Like I found out like 12 hours before they were just like drunk uncles what this show needs tonight It was it was all it That show was 50 years in the making and they put it together in one week. It's it was it was absolutely insane to watch Well, thank you for joining us again.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Also here today is a returning champion. It's comedian Ellery Smith. Hello, Ellery. Hi, thank you for having me back. It's good to have you back. I'm excited to defend my title. You're dropping out on us a little bit. I don't know what the
Starting point is 00:04:09 Issue might be but she's a robot. Maybe it was temporary. It really did sound like that. You're a robot Hillary You sounded like what I assume the monster from the abyss sounded like like what I assume the monster from the abyss sounded like. It's like with the robot lady in X Machina, like if she got hit upside the head, just curb stomped or something. Sexy. Is this a little bit better? That's I think so. But you know, we got to do like a full sentence.
Starting point is 00:04:43 So I'll ask you a question and then you can respond Are you still floating on air? After your win last weekend. I am I'm very excited to be back. I feel really good Okay, good we brought in a ringer today though and You're gonna have to contend with This is my next introduction Sam Levine is back. Hi Sam. Hi dog. It's so exciting Are you doing I'm good. Am I in the five timers club?
Starting point is 00:05:15 Yeah, you've been in it so many times that Sending someone around it to ask you for some money. Oh, that's fine. Like a university that I went to. Yeah, kind of that sort of thing. We'll put you on like a payment plan or something, but you know, it'll be cool. Wouldn't that be amazing if we revealed that after all this time I'd been paying you to keep coming on the show? That would, you know, for a lot of people it'd probably be like, now that- Now it makes sense now
Starting point is 00:05:45 We know why don't we put up back such a dominating Trivia master over and over again to go up against his dear friends who just cannot Know deal, but let me ask you this Tell me about vampire. Oh So that's a fine question. And it's funny that you have me and Bobby on. So the writer director of that film is the same director of the documentary Getting Lost. Taylor Morton.
Starting point is 00:06:18 That's him that Bobby and I appear in. And Taylor has this new venture, vampire, and I did some voice work for the film. Funny, I didn't hear anything. Oh, this is awkward. I think they went to you first, Bobby, I'm certain of it. And you were just too busy. I said, go away. Yeah, you couldn't have finished your schedule.
Starting point is 00:06:44 So they called me and my wide open schedule and here we are. I got a call about that Lost documentary and I thought about it and I was just like, I can't pretend to have anything to say about Lost other than, you know, other than I watched it and I, you know, I enjoyed it at the time. I never I never became like a person that, you know, really got deeply involved in in that show. You didn't get lost and lost. Yeah, I mean, either. But you went in there and talked about it anyway.
Starting point is 00:07:17 No, I loved I loved the shit out of it. You know, I'm looking at my I'm in a room which is 14 percent lost props. That's amazing. Yeah, but it's what you would call a super fan. I enjoy it. I enjoyed it a great deal. So back to Sam and this motion picture vampire. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Tell me about it. Oh, I honest to God can't tell you much beyond my vocal contributions. Oh, I see. So yeah, no, I was not involved in like the principal stuff. I did some voice work for Taylor after the fact. I'm not even sure it will even be in the finished product. My fingers are crossed. Yeah, I hope you make that final cut. But why is it vampire with a B? Do you know that? I think, I actually do think I know the answer, but I don't.
Starting point is 00:08:13 It's all vampires that are Maria Bamford. What? Oh my god. I think it's, I don't know if I want to if I'm giving anything away But I you know what if I am and Taylor, I'm so sorry. I think it has to do with like a deer vampire. Oh So it's like like a buck the B is buck vampire Yeah, yeah, yeah Well, good luck with that doesn't seem like you have too much at stake so to speak
Starting point is 00:09:01 I've never been number one on the call sheet. I never have anything at stake. That's the beauty of being sporting actor, right Bobby? I'll pie I'm right. There it is Before we play some games today i would like each one of you love least to recommend one movie will start with alery do you have a recommendation for us i want to know allison grommet this weekend yes with the lines that the cursive the what's hot the last was cursed the where rabbit this is Yes, what is it, the curse of the, what's it called? The last one was Curse of the Were Rabbit. This one is, I can't remember what the-
Starting point is 00:09:28 Wallace and Gromit get fucked. Yeah, I mean basically, up to high jinx. But it was really, it was really, really good. It was delightful. You know, those Wallace and Gromits, the, just the look of everything is so so cute and cool and you know I just I'm the same way with everybody loves the Paddington movies and I kind of I kind of don't get it. I can't really get into the Paddington ones. I like the Wallace and Grommets. Obviously I work
Starting point is 00:10:02 in stop stop motion so like I really like that aspect of it but this one was all about it was like sort of a commentary on AI and I thought that was really cool. Yeah but not cool enough to remember what it was called. Yeah not quite that cool but I wouldn't give it a second watch. That I would love to see that I would absolutely love to see. There's some shorts where they where they replaced Wallace and Gromit with famous movie duos that'd be really. Oh that would be really fun or drop those two in the the famous movie. Yeah I love it either way. Natural born killers. Absolutely in the departed. Fantastic. Midnight Cowboy. Midnight Cowboy would be so good.
Starting point is 00:10:51 They were nominated for it. This one was nominated for an Oscar for animated film. Yeah, but it lost against flow. So it can't be that good. Yeah. Well, I was in Inside Out 2 and it lost to Flow, I believe. Oh, well, it's pretty good. first foray into being in something that's, you know, like a got a big nomination like that. Oh, inside out. Yeah, the first one, maybe, maybe then.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Yeah, for sure. I mean, the first one won. Yeah. Yes. You're in a Oscar winning film. I yeah, I yeah, I think maybe if you maybe you were the voice of Riley in the first one, right? Correct. I was didn't come back because they wouldn't pay you enough and Lewis Black and I refused. I will say this, my favorite thing in the world was I watched Inside out to at the at the premiere and Lewis Black was sitting behind me and I stood up and I I went it was good And he went for a cartoon
Starting point is 00:11:55 Really got me it really got me We're flames flying out of his head was he yes, he was livid. Yeah. Yes, he was living Flames flying out of his head with the yes, he was livid. Yeah. Yes, he was livid Alright so sam, what do you what do you think in this time? What kind of uh Recommendation would you like to make? Um, i'm gonna recommend a documentary that I Meant to see in theaters had intended to see in theaters during its run But just could not get out to one so my wife and I watched it at home and it is a documentary about my favorite band of all time. And the film was called Becoming Led Zeppelin.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Interesting. That one would be a fun one to see in theaters. Was it like IMAX or any of that kind of thing? I think it might have been in IMAX as well as as regular theaters. And yeah, I was truly bummed. I could not find a good day or time to go check it out. But still absolutely worth seeing at home if you have any interest in the band. And I will say this, the title is accurate.
Starting point is 00:12:58 It is not the entire history of the band Led Zeppelin. It is exclusively focused on the band members before becoming members of this band. And then it kind of walks you through their first two albums. And that's, that's where it calls it a day. So if you're watching, it stops right before things start getting good. Yeah. just the absolute best parties and drugs you've ever gotten to experience. But anyway, no, it was super fun for me because as I may have mentioned, my favorite band. You are a well-known Zephead. Everyone always talks about it.
Starting point is 00:13:41 We knew about it when you built that interesting stairway in your home. You got that black dog now. Do you think someone who's not a fan of Led Zeppelin would enjoy it? I don't know, possibly. I think if you're even a little familiar with the band, it would help. But even if you're just a little familiar with them,, it would help. But even if you're just a little familiar with them, I think it would still be an interesting documentary because more so than just focusing on the band, it really does paint a pretty great picture of what the British invasion
Starting point is 00:14:18 music scene looked like after the Beatles had already taken over the world. like after the Beatles had already, you know, taken over the world. Mm-hmm. And so, you know, Led Zeppelin sort of, they came onto the scene in the late 60s. So the Beatles were still a band that were still putting out albums, and now here are these other guys. So it paints a pretty interesting picture, and that for me is one of my favorite eras in the history of music. Well, let me suggest a double bill for people because there's a movie, a documentary called John and Yoko, One Plus One, a one-on-one, something like that, and I get so confused with these subtitles sometimes,
Starting point is 00:14:59 but anyway, it's about John and Yoko, but it's similarly to this Led Zeppelin movie. It's just about a certain period of time when they had their first apartment before they ended up in the Dakota, but like their first small apartment in New York City when he was always being kind of hassled that they were going to try to deport him. So it's interesting to see that, but it's the whole movie is told from the perspective of what John and Yoko probably saw on TV because they loved American television and watched it day and night. So it's you see
Starting point is 00:15:32 commercials from the time, you see news reports from the time, and you see everything else that was going on with John and Yoko that was recorded for television during that time and it's it's really fascinating and and you know some parts of it are kind of disturbing and and it's but it's so you know well worth the effort okay that is a great double bill yeah all right everybody's got homework now oh no they could have some fun with Wallace and grommet. Are there any other Yoko's or is she the only one? In the world. Yeah, you could Fitzgerald a person named Yoko Yoko Fitzgerald artist
Starting point is 00:16:15 She's a famous artist yeah She's a she's a pasta artist. Yeah She's a she's a pasta artist. Yeah You know probably not a you know, super popular name for various I have an aunt Yoko Yoko Moynihan Okay. Oh wow. All right. So there are how about Sigourney? Are there any other Sigourney's? That one I don't think I don't think that caught on like even uncle. I have an uncle Sigourney Moynihan Is he married to Yoko?
Starting point is 00:16:51 She's been so successful that she's kind of she's Sigourney, you know, like yeah, I Think people started naming. I think we're here share more these days just because of share from Flueless and you know what I mean? All right, Bobby finally Finally, we're coming to you. Yes, your Recommendation. I mean, I always recommend who frame Roger Rabbit just because it's the best movie ever made but I Just watched yesterday on the plane home con mom the documentary con mom and it was dark Great Well, it doesn't sound like it's pro mom
Starting point is 00:17:26 No, it is it is about a famous chef And his wife and their life together and how he had never he had a terrible Relationship with his father and he had never met his mother and at the age of 45 he meets his mother and the effect that it has on him is is huge and she may not be who she says she is. It's pretty nuts it was amazing it kind of rocked me. There's another documentary oh god tell me who I am that I watched and like like I like for two weeks afterwards, I was a mess. Documentaries are tricky because it's, you know, I like to recommend good ones, but if it's a good documentary, something pretty awful probably happens.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Yeah. Yeah. But you know, I'm trying to think of like, what's it? I mean, Sam has recommended in the past the Will Ferrell documentary. Oh, yeah. Will and Harper? Yeah. That was a good one. It's a Mr. Rogers documentary. It's really sweet.
Starting point is 00:18:36 That's true. That's you nailed it. That's the one. That's because I was trying to think of just a documentary where there's zero stress. You can just enjoy a documentary. And I like hurting myself. Yeah. But even with Will and Harper, there were moments of where I've just felt the sadness of people's situations.
Starting point is 00:18:57 I don't know. Doug, I got to tell you, we saw the Mr. Rogers documentary together years ago in Traverse City, and there are definitely uncomfortable moments, like how we found out where Mr. McFeely got his name from. All right. Okay. That was a three-course meal. That was really like the details of where we saw the movie. Were unnecessary for the joke,
Starting point is 00:19:23 but somehow it really grounded it really, really grounded it. You know, it really grounded it. I was, I'm still not sure if this conversation happened. What was the name of that? Oh yeah. Do you know? I think it should make Wallace and Gromit do no harm. I canceled medical show from your canceled show.
Starting point is 00:19:49 That's yeah. Did everyone think you were the it was your show and that's why it got canceled. 100 percent. Everyone on the show. Anyone who watched the show, people heard about the show. It's got that guy. I am out. Well, those are some great recommendations. And that's Peewee Herman documentary bad. Oh, yeah Yeah Yeah, that'd be good. I bet I bet that'd be really good and you know, it's speaking of Roger Rabbit. I've been on some show mine or someone else's I was recently
Starting point is 00:20:20 spouting off about how If you want kind of a cool documentary I mean, double feature, you know, another D word. If you want a cool double feature, who's who framed Roger Rabbit and Chinatown? And then once you've sat through both of them you'll know why Los Angeles is fucked. Because one's about the water problems in the city and the other is about the transportation problems. Yeah. Anyway, we are going to play some games after this break.

Starting point is 00:23:54 Thank you, Aura. Thanks. We are back. And the first game I like to play today is something that I just made up called Name That Number Two. I'll say the subtitle of the second film in a series, You Name the Franchise. Got it. Bobby is first. If you miss it.
Starting point is 00:24:24 Breaking to electric boogaloo. See, you know what this is like. You know what to expect. Maybe. Live timer. What? Oh yeah, that's true. But if Bobby, Mrs. Ellery gets a shot, she misses, Sam gets a crack at it. And when they just go around like that, whenever somebody gets one right one right well the next person gets to go first first with three correct or the most
Starting point is 00:24:48 After nine will be our winner of this game Bobby What film franchise that has more than one film? Decided to add to the number two colon Hades Hades H a des. Oh my goodness. I know it's no electric bugalo Gosh, I don't know. Is it make a wild swing? I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Jimmy Khan Hades animated from
Starting point is 00:25:34 How was it oh James Conn played Hades. Didn't he play the voice of you mean James would that's what I said When Jimmy Carter played. Okay, so that's Hercules. Hercules. I'm going to say Hercules and that one was straight to video. I know I'm wrong, but. Yeah, no, you know you're wrong because the host generally doesn't just repeat back to you the correct answer as if it's not. We'll go over to Ellery. Do you have an idea what this might be? I think that was a really good guess.
Starting point is 00:26:12 That was going to be my- The best guess. Yeah. I know that Hades is a video game. So I'm wondering if there's a live action video game of it. Can we have a spelling? Is it H-A-T? Like I Hades. No, I think it's H- have a spelling? Is it H.A.T. like I hate these. No, I think it's H.A.D.
Starting point is 00:26:27 I was kidding, but. It's H.A. Zero. H.A. Eight eight eight eight eighties. OK, so that's wrong, Ellery. Sam. Well, Doug, bring it home, Sam. I know people who live.
Starting point is 00:26:50 It's escape plan two. Wow. I know this only because back in the old days, we had that movie trivia schmodown program that I know you know, Doug. I had to do deep dives on all the the 80s action guys. So Stallone and Van Dam and I actually watched not all of but some of this film and my birthday buddy Titus Welber is in it. So, yeah, that's escape plan too. All right. I saw him. I just saw him the other morning at KTLA. Oh, I Like how Sam will?
Starting point is 00:27:26 Include an explanation of why he knows this shit. It doesn't cuz no earthly reason anyone should know Escape plan to eat. I certainly thought it's like a millionaire but for Doug loves movies. Yeah Well, they're not gonna get any easier for a minute. So let's go back to Bobby This is kind of perfect wrong guess wrong guess and then Sam but Bobby Yes, if you could figure this one out or you might just remember This subtitle what film series with more than one Had the second one called the trench
Starting point is 00:28:05 The trench Not those like Blake Lively shark movies no, um gosh She did more than one of those I didn't know I thought maybe there was a second one that was like a different lady In the same exact position and outfit. Yeah, they could have done that. I guess Yeah, nobody does almost get me my shark like I gotta be honest with you. I don't even remember what you said What was it again? The trench a trench. Oh, I don't know. Is Casper Van Dean in it? Maybe. Maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:52 I don't I don't know the full cast. I know the lead, but I don't want to give any more clues. Shrench. Wait, what's the wait? No. Now I'm going a different direction. I started thinking about the the the movies, the horror movies where they're stuck in like. The island, the trench, the trench. I don't know. I have no idea. I'm going to say the weapon.
Starting point is 00:29:17 Yeah. Great guess. Ellery. OK. I think actually Bobby was circling it with the shark. I think I remember I worked on like a shark week promo and I. Is it the Meg? It is Meg. Yeah, there you go. I was close. You were close for a moment.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Triggered for me. You get a close point, which is worth nothing, but you get one. I honestly said Blake Lively and then I was like, maybe I shouldn't talk about Blake Lively and I went away from Okay, Sam gets to go first on this next one Sam what movie in a series Just tacked on after the title The words volume two.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Well, I think that it's got to be guardians of the galaxy, right? It doesn't gotta be. I mean, I'm pretty sure guardians of the galaxy volume two is the name of the second one, so I'll say that. Well, unfortunately, that's not what I wrote down, but I also didn't, you know, it didn't strike me that there would be this issue of there being the Guardians one being a vol- they use volume also. So let me rephrase Sam. Okay. This is a series and this everybody gets the same clue basically. This is a series that was only two films. Oh, and the second one they call volume two.
Starting point is 00:30:58 What do you think it is Sam? Hmm. Think you know that your answer was like the obvious answer think what? How would I know that think of that kind of answer How would I know that like yeah like escape plan to Hades? Yeah, how would I know that? Does anything come into mind? I mean maybe No, I guess I kill Bill volume 2 oh I like that's that's another one. I didn't think of
Starting point is 00:31:34 There's only and there's only two so You're really You're really making me, you know look over to judges and get their reaction to Whether or not I should give you the point, but I'm not gonna get you give you the point because That seems fair Something specific I'm looking for okay. Do you want me to give you another clue Sam? Okay other clue Sam? Sure. Okay. Pretentious. Great clue. I mean I guess it's kind of
Starting point is 00:32:14 obvious but once you're saying volume instead of part you're already being kind of pretentious. Yeah. No I... I would love if this just kept going if you kept getting right answers that aren't my answer. Yeah, no, I'm I can only think of those two right off the back of the... Okay, well you're gonna win anyway probably so Bobby, what do you think? That's weird. I was in the I was in the Quentin Tarantino. I was either gonna say kill Bill or like wasn't there even another one name by I thought it was like Didn't he do like death stroke some other one that was a volume two. I Thought it was a different one No, that's what I was gonna say I was gonna say that one kill Bill Okay, Ellery. Yeah, that was gonna be my guess as well. I don't know what
Starting point is 00:33:04 Nobody got this because it's just terribly unfair to Sam because he got two two correct ones But this was the Lars von Trier nymphomaniac Right, yeah All right. Let's go Sam do this one which movie Alright, let's go Sam, do this one. Which movie, that's the second in a series, has, no this one, there better not be another one that you pull out. Day of the Soldado. Oh, that's Sicario. Sicario 2, that is correct. Back to Bobby.
Starting point is 00:33:43 That's me. Yeah. What movie had the sequel called The Next Chapter? Jeez. Cruel Intentions? They did make a Cruel Intentions, too. Yeah. I think they just put a two on there though. Maybe there is more words, but Ellery, next chapter. I'm going to say book club.
Starting point is 00:34:16 I love it. You know what? I wouldn't be surprised if that one had that. I think that was the second. It was called book club the next chapter. This is crazy. I think that that was the second was called the club. The next chapter. This is crazy. I thought this was such a singular, singular thing. I'm going to give Ellery half a point for that. Damn. That's not the answer.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Well, what is the I'm just going to say something. I just Googled the next chapter on IMDb and there is one, two, three, four, five. Different. No way. Yeah. Let's hit them all. There's lots of lots of options. But what do you think I wrote down, Sam? I 51 shades of gray. The next chapter. Oh, no, I thought this.
Starting point is 00:35:03 See, I thought this would be a real obvious one because of how popular with a lot of people the original is. That's what makes sense. Once you know it, you go, oh, never, never ending, never ending story. Oh, all right. What are the other ones, Bobby? It says the librarians, the next chapter makes sense. But that's TV.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Belgravia, the next chapter makes sense TV Bell Gravia the next chapter a book club the next chapter the never-ending story to the next chapter yeah and TV series teen mom the next hey but I'm right now I wait there's a whole bunch more there's oh I'm sure there is orphan black But I'm next chapter Lego friends a lot of a lot of stuff. That's like not theatrical motion pictures. So Okay, I guess I've been vindicated though because there's no two in book club to to the next chapter All of these actually have the two in them as they say that's hence the fun Name that number two. All right, so
Starting point is 00:36:10 It's very very exciting matchup. Who did I leave off with? Sam's up first again. I guess so. All right, Sam. Are you ready? Sure What movie has this subtitle, Nutty by Nature? Okay, well I know it's not the Nutty Professor 2. Wish it was. I wish. Same. Ugh, the clumps.
Starting point is 00:36:40 What? Come on. How dare you. Nutty by Nature would have been good for this many professor to yeah, nutty by nature Oh that's the peanut butter falcon, oh Only one movie but Yeah, that's it. I have no answer. I do not what do you think it is Bobby? Yeah, that's it. I have no answer. I do not what do you think it is Bobby?
Starting point is 00:37:11 Um, I know the answer to this. That's what I thought it is the nut job to To star Bobby boy, sorry Bobby my hand is not in this room with me Bobby, but are you in that film? Yeah. Yes I play the mayor. Oh that's fun. Yeah. But then Ted Danson took the role for that TV series you were in with him right? I was it was I was it was Ted Danson on my shoulders we just one more one big jacket. Yeah I thought I'd throw you a softball there, Bobby. Thank you. I needed it. But it is hilarious when I have a guest on the show that does not recognize movies that
Starting point is 00:37:51 they're actually in. You did this to me last time and I got it and you were very surprised. Okay, so now we go to Ellery and the movie is these two ideas, these get easier as we go along so we eventually have a winner or need a winner soon. So Ellery, this next one is The Golden Army. The Golden Army. Yeah, does that ring any bells? Not off the top, the golden army.
Starting point is 00:38:26 That's one I think you'd know it or don't know it. Like you don't need to really consider it for too long. I don't think you'd be like, oh, of course. Okay. Is it, is it Hellboy? Yes, it is. Wow. Hellboy 2, the golden army, where did you get that from?
Starting point is 00:38:48 I think we did some robot chicken sketches where we talked about it. That's crazy that that's stuck, because you haven't seen the movie. I don't think I have seen the movie. That's wild. Alright Sam, like I said, they get pretty easy, just just spit it out and we'll move on Okay, the wrath of Khan Star Trek 2 that is correct Sam is the winner with he's got 17 points in that game and
Starting point is 00:39:19 Here's a crazy fact about Bobby Moynihan Here's a crazy fact about Bobby Moynihan. Most of the sequels you've been in, Bobby, do not have a subtitle. It's just the movie and the number. Or not even that. I, in the case of Monsters, I decided that you can't beat Nutty by nature. Yeah. Yeah. Inside out to Ted too and Monsters to you.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Um, well, thank you for that everybody. Thank you for letting Sam finally get a win on this show. And he gets to go first in our next game, which as he knows is not necessarily that great. So we'll do that right after this break. We'll be right back. Starting point is 00:40:56 your first box. We are back and congrats again to Sam for winning that first game and getting to go first in our next game called The Little Search Engine That Could. Oh dear god no. Sam's favorite game. Today I typed a word into the search engine on IMDB and I wrote down the top 10 results motion pictures only. After I tell you what the word is, the three of you will take turns naming movies
Starting point is 00:41:34 with that word in the title or guessing it, titles that have that word in it if you don't know specific ones. The higher up on the list the movie is, the more points you get, know specific ones. The higher up on the list the movie is the more points you get, three guesses each, then we'll tally up the scores and have ourselves a winner. And now I bet you'd like to know what that word is. Dear God. I watched Baby Girl the other night and you know since I that movie gave me plenty of time to just get lost in my own thoughts I
Starting point is 00:42:11 Decided man, there's been a lot of movies with baby in the title. So the word is baby title Sam you're up first I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that.
Starting point is 00:42:36 I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that. I'm not sure if by the way. Yeah, it's great. That was my favorite film I saw in theaters that year. 2017. That year?
Starting point is 00:42:50 Yeah, 2017. Oh my God. What a experience. What a brain on this guy. I couldn't tell you my favorite movie by each year. What about the next year? 2018? Yeah, what was your favorite oh god don't look
Starting point is 00:43:07 it up I have nothing to look up die hard don't open your journals yes okay so yeah for some reason I can't figure out what's driving the baby driver searches because that's what you know determines this list is you know people typing it into the search engine. It might be because Edgar Wright has another has a running man coming out pretty soon and they they just started talking about a trailer maybe coming out. But anyway, Ellery, a movie with Baby in the title. I'm gonna say Rosemary's Baby. I don't see any reason why not. It's the freaking classic from 1968 and it is number six on the list. So Ellery, you are on the board
Starting point is 00:44:05 the list. So, Ellery, you are on the board with six points. Now we go to Bobby. Rosemary, baby. Rosemary's baby was my first thought. My second thought has the word be. Can I say, don't tell mom the babysitter's dead? Oh, you can. But let me tell everybody this blanket piece of instruction just to make it a little easier. There's no babies. It's all baby singular, but babysitting would count.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Babysitting would not count. But unfortunately, that movie did not make it into the top 10. People are not checking that shit out right now. But they should be classic. Sam, we're back to you. I'm going to be either happy or sad. I will say the film that you saw that inspired this uh... baby girl well there's always you know the chance that uh... i could blow it by having
Starting point is 00:45:10 mentioned title before we even play it never know if the guests are gonna pick up on that but yes of course it it uh... it is on the list but sam i have a follow-up question uh... is this baby girl that you're speaking of from 2024 or 2018? First off you're a monster. I will say the more recent Nicole Kidman baby girl. Yeah, that is correct. Okay. I just thought it's funny that there was another movie called baby girl with a space between baby and girl of course. That's how it should be. All right. So that's where it's seven more points for Sam. What number was it? What's that? What number on the list was it? I mean, I'm sorry. It's that's worth four points, right? One, two, three. Yeah four points number seven because it was number seven
Starting point is 00:46:14 Yes. All right Ellery just think of another one Yeah, I'm not sure it's gonna be top ten because it's so You don't want to guess something that's not perfect. Well, this is the only one I thought of, but three men and a baby? Oh, that's a terrific guess, but no, it didn't. I thought it could maybe be in there because, you know, we've heard so much from Steve Guttenberg during the fires but no not enough heat on that movie for it to land on the list. I asked Ted Danson personally about the ghost. Yeah. He was just like it was a
Starting point is 00:46:56 cardboard cut out of me. Yeah that's pretty much what everybody says so you got to trust Ted because I asked him within 17 seconds of meeting him I think all right Bobby what's your next baby mmm boss baby number 12 on the list son of a a bitch. Yeah. But that's the Boss Baby is one of my favorite titles of all time. Sam, you're just like, now it's just, you know, we're in the rubbing it in. No. I'm, for what it's worth, I have remarkably few movies that I can even think of anymore with Baby in the title. But the next one I have is million dollar, baby
Starting point is 00:47:46 Yeah, of course. It's on the list. I don't you say of course I do Right, but you know Yeah, you're right Billy dollar baby might be sticking around more because of you know, the patriarchy and how the lady fighter dies Yeah It's number nine on the list. Oh Spoiler alert. Yeah real spoiler Must be missing some big ones. Yeah, and also who hasn't seen million-dollar baby or had I have not seen that movie yet
Starting point is 00:48:22 Well, if you're a fan I knew what happened already but yeah, if you're a fan of Ricky Linhome you should check it out. If you like Margot Martindale. They both play Mother and Child. They both play horrible people. Jay Baruchel just plays a kind of a mildly probably on the spectrum. Morgan Freeman anyway. He plays a mildly on the spectrum. Morgan Freeman. Yeah. Yeah. That's a career. He does a really good job.
Starting point is 00:48:53 Seems like a bad choice. He does a really good job. It was in a different era. It's 21 years ago. You're right. I guess. Different times. Standards have changed. You can picture it just speaking see you with that slow deep voice But yes, Sam you were right to be curious about
Starting point is 00:49:12 What I find fascinating about this list is that the top ten has a lot of questionable ones in there and then 11 through 20 Has some really what I think are pretty pretty big ones, but And I rap can I rattle a couple off no not would not yet but is the game over almost oh no, okay Okay, good. I mean it's over in the sense that Sam is the winner well Sam is a well. Yeah, Sam is unsurpassable at this point, but maybe now you can't even tie him at this point, Elodie, but still make give me one more guess. Um, only because I recently semi recently came out. Bridget Jones is baby.
Starting point is 00:49:59 That's a totally reasonable guess, but it's not in there. Oh, Bobby. I have two, but I don't know which one has a better chance. I'm going to say. Hmm, baby boy. Oh, that is a good one. Number 11. God, I see. I keep coming close.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Yeah, I thought of another one. I did, too. My gut tells me it's got to be high on the list. And let's just keep going. Sam, baby mama. Oh, very. Oh, that is a good call. But number 17. What actual fuck.
Starting point is 00:50:37 What about baby crybaby crybabies number four? Oh, I'm a fucking idiot. That one since the beginning. And I was like, no one's going to know that one. Oh, I'm a fucking idiot. That one since the beginning. And I was like, no one's going to know that one. Yeah, I don't know what, you know, I think there's kind of like a real love of John Waters in the air and, you know, just the kind of subversiveness of it. But it's also not that crazy this day.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Because I saw a crybaby recently over the new Beverly in it You know it holds up it as a comedy, but it's You know not that shocking really Compared to maybe some of his other maybe some other John Waters movies, but These you said you have one more Sam no no my baby mama was the one. Oh, that was the one. Okay Well, let me give you the the the actual results then we'll get out of here baby's Well, the one that cracks me up the most just because it's not pronounced baby but Babylon is
Starting point is 00:51:41 Well, that's number 18 I'm going I, I'm starting very low because I love- If Baby Geniuses is in there, I'm going to be very upset. I love Baby Geniuses. Baby Geniuses did not make the top 18, but some other interesting ones I throw. Another interesting one I thought was that number 13 is where Gone Baby Gone landed. And then now talking about the actual list that you were trying to guess on a movie from 2015 from India called bait Just baby, which is another element of this game is whatever the word is There's pretty often a movie that just is that word and so that is something that could have been guessed
Starting point is 00:52:21 But you all do babies, but then like me you would have made the person who guessed it You name the year Probably yeah, and then of course of course and then I don't know why this is on there But Carl Malden and Carole Baker in the black and white 1956 Like noir movie baby doll So I mean, I think it's cool that people are looking it up. What's not cool that people are looking up at number five is pretty baby.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Oh, the Brooke Shields. Everyone needs to just walk away from that. Oh, God. Yeah. But I think that's because her her memoir came out and she does that. That's it. That's it. Yeah. Remember, came out and creeps are ready to go. Exactly. Locked and loaded. Yeah. Number three, this is where it gets like just very unpredictable. Apparently in 2024 is a movie I looked over, but it was co-written by a previous guest on this show actually named Brie Esrig.
Starting point is 00:53:23 And it's called Sugar Baby and it stars comedian Mary Beth Barone so maybe people are seeking it out because of some things she said or did and then number two also baby but this one from last year from Brazil so you're right, Sam, that yeah, there's two babies. And so I would have asked you the year if you had taken a stab, if you'd have taken a stab at a baby, I would have said what year wants to do this baby. Wait, isn't there like a movie about a little dinosaur named baby? Yeah, that's the third one that that's not on here anywhere. But yeah, there was a baby
Starting point is 00:54:07 baby dinosaur movie Yeah, if you ask John Mulaney that movie doesn't doesn't exist cuz dinosaurs Tony's didn't exist Sam yes What would you like to promote today is our winner? You get to go first. Obviously, the new film, Vampire, soon to be released. May or may not feature Sam's voice. May or may not feature the tender vocal strains of me.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Hey, find me on Cameo. I've been having a lot of fun there. Where would they look under them? They're like Sam Levine? Yeah, just search find me on Cameo. I've been having a lot of fun there. Where would they look under them? They're like Sam Levine? Yeah, just search my name on Cameo. Sam with the two M's, of course. I've made some fun videos recently and I'd like to make fun videos for you, for whatever. I've really branched out. I'm so excited any time it's anything other than a birthday. And I'm happy to say I've gotten a lot of those. So, yeah, you think of having a fun video, I will make one for you.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And what else? Well, you know, I'll counter offer. I'll make a counter offer. If you want a cameo from me, I would prefer it to be a birthday, because I've already worked out what I'm going to say. Okay. Happy and birthday. anything else Sam no that's it for now I love it we'll have you back soon to defend your title okay

That's amazing. I can't wait. That sounds super fun. Eugene Cordero, Nicole Byer, Lily Sullivan, and Tim Balz are also playing. Come check it out. It's gonna be blessed.
Starting point is 00:57:21 And you'll probably get food. I like that probably part though because you can We're gonna make as much food for the audience as possible and if that the very least you'll get a What are those the rub-on tattoos or like what do they call those the tattoo like Christ I did math 15 minutes before the show started for the first time. All right. So people are disappointed they don't get food. At least they can eat. They will. They will get a temporary tattoo if you eat it.
