Starting point is 00:00:00 Doug hates candy wrappers, green and baby sticky seeds With 50 acid popper kernels in his teeth There's still not one that he won't see Cause Doug loves movies Hey, hey, hey everybody, my name is Doug and I love movies This is Doug Loves Movies Oh, thank you, Sam Coming to you once again from the end times.
Starting point is 00:00:27 It's Sunday, April 26, 2020. And I've got three terrific guests. And a specific reason I brought the three of them together today. It's Justin Long, Clark Wolf, and Sam the Ma'am Levine, a.k.a. Lil' Logan, formerly Lil' Wolverine. Hello. Hey, Doug. Hey, Doug and Sam and everyone.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Hey, buddy. It's so great to have you all here, but let's talk individually and alphabetically, starting with Sam Levine. Okay, so we're going last name. Yes, yes. Alphabetized by last name
Starting point is 00:01:12 as God intended alphabetizing to be done. That's right. You will be smoten if you don't alphabetize. So Sam. Yeah, buddy. What's going on this sunday afternoon what are you dragging yourself away from to be here for this um well thank you for asking uh i've been
Starting point is 00:01:35 cooking quite a lot uh since the quarantine began so i was just doing some meal prep for dinner tonight uh which i stopped to come do this. So that's the kind of cooking you're into now, where you got to do stuff in the afternoon for a meal that you won't be having until that night. I mean, I don't do it every night. I saved this particular one for the weekend because I knew it was a little more labor intensive, but yeah, I just had to do a little marinade. So now I have to let it sit for like six hours.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Well, I think, you know, it sounds like a great time to do that sort of thing. You know, like now that you mentioned it, I should probably be growing weed or something. I can't believe you weren't doing that already, quarantine notwithstanding. What do you think I am? Some sort of marijuana enjoyer? Some sort of marijuana enjoyer? Right, but why do I have to grow
Starting point is 00:02:32 it? I mean, it's a lot of work. You don't just yank the plant out of the ground and roll it up and smoke it. Doug, I have no idea how marijuana works. You know that. Clearly! Thank you for being here, also joining us today all the way from the east coast it's justin long yeah yeah rainy and glom here but it's nice to be here with you guys well that's you, that's probably... I don't know what I prefer,
Starting point is 00:03:06 because, like, we've had some hot days here in California. I'm like, would I prefer to be gloomy for a pandemic? I don't know. It's nice when you have to be inside, and it's a change. You know, we get a nice little change in weather. But I want to hear more about Sam's meal. I've been cooking myself, Sam. What exactly are you making? Oh, well, you know, we get a nice little change in weather. But I want to hear more about Sam's meal.
Starting point is 00:03:25 I've been cooking myself, Sam. What exactly are you making? Oh, well, tonight I'm doing a chicken dish. And it's a new marinade that I'm working on. It's got a balsamic vinegar base and there's some honey in there. And that's all I'll say now, because this is Doug Loves Movies, not Dining with Doug and Karen. I know, but I thought that's true.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Am I Karen? No, she's not here. Oh, okay. But I will gladly go on that podcast with you, and we can talk all about food and marinades. Well, I think I just caught myself about to talk about the weather or in the middle of talking about the weather, and I thought, well, what's slightly less boring than that?
Starting point is 00:04:03 Sam's chicken. Yeah, yeah. I'll let you that? Sam's chicken. Yeah. Yeah. I'll let you guys know how it is. Okay. Yeah. Good. Well, let me help you out here, Justin.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Let's take this back to the, well, here's how we'll take this back to the movies. I've got a pandemic question for you. Uh-huh. Which of your screen roles in all the movies you've been in, I've certainly got one in mind. Maybe Sam and Clark could each think of one in their heads. But which one of your movies do you think prepared you most? You know, which role did you play that prepared you most for this pandemic? Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Well, Tusk, we were in the same location for a while. That was going to be a nightmare. Kind of confined. So, yeah, maybe that one. Smaller. So this pandemic is making you feel like you're in a giant walrus suit? Kind of, yeah. There's some overlap. I gonna be honest i would have
Starting point is 00:05:07 thought you just said alvin and the chipmunks why because you were really in a dark room that's true i was in a booth just you in the booth hours and hours of the day that's a good point that's true that's right i just slow my voice down and everything seems to have in order for them to speed it up and get a higher pitch. So I, that's true. Everything is seemed to have slowed down as well. That's a much better answer. Okay. Already you're better at this game. What about, uh, what about, uh, the old JC? Cheaper creepers. I think he means. What about the old JC? Jesus Christ?
Starting point is 00:05:46 Jeepers Creepers, I think he means. Jesus Christ 1 or Jesus Christ 2? Yeah, that was, you know, Doug, I just got the, I don't know how you feel about this, Sam. I just got a, I had a poster of Jeepers Creepers that I got when I did that, which was 20 years ago now. And I had in my closet, I just moved to this new house and I thought I should get some of these old posters framed.
Starting point is 00:06:13 And so I have it now. I just got it back from the store. I have it. And I feel like kind of a, it's one of the only things that I have up, like decorative things that I have. And I feel like a little douchey for having it. I just don't know what to do with it. It's a nice looking poster, but it's also obviously a little, I guess,
Starting point is 00:06:35 arrogant maybe to have. No, I think you're looking at it all wrong. And case in point, I'm doing this podcast from the building in my home. I call my office or the building in my home. I call my office or the room in my home. I call the office. And it's the only room in my home there. Everything on the wall is a poster of stuff that I did. Okay. But it's a specific room, Sam.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Yes. I keep everything located to one room. That way I'm not, it's not a, my house is not a shrine to me, just my office where I like to pretend I'm creative. It's like a little Sam Levine museum. Yeah. Well, it's funny, you know, he also uses that room as a bathroom and it's strangely the second worst reason. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:22 It's only the second reason to not go in there. Okay, so... You know what I really am looking at right now? You would like this. I think I showed this to you last time. You probably did. I have these still frames. A friend of mine, this was her idea she uh
Starting point is 00:07:46 from the scene in annie hall when when the subtitled scene where he he's first talking to diane keaton and you know he's saying yeah i wonder what she looks like naked and you know but they're talking about uh they're just showing the subtext of what they're talking about so each one of those frames a friend of mine had framed for me and I put them in this long, this hallway of mine. And it was in the background of something I did on Instagram a couple of weeks ago. And somebody on Instagram, I was so disappointed in myself. Somebody on Instagram said,
Starting point is 00:08:18 Oh, is that your Annie hallway? Oh, that's so, yes. So good. And I was like, I said, I feel bad stealing i have to give him credit i don't remember his name but i i was so disappointed in myself that i missed that obvious now i'm disappointed in you just hearing that yeah that's how i like to start these shows yeah yeah that story bored me so much it's gonna lead to a manhattan murder mystery all right so um uh yeah we were doing something and you you showed us uh on on video but this is
Starting point is 00:09:01 just audio and we have to say hello to our third guest there she is we've heard from her but we're gonna talk to her now it's Clark wolf everybody Clark could you do ten minutes on what Justin has on his walls. I don't know if I can top Annie Hallway. I like that one. That's pretty good. I thought the whole story was bananas. Oh my god. No. Also no.
Starting point is 00:09:36 It's everything I wanted to know about Justin Long's hallway, but was afraid to ask. Sorry, Sam. I didn't hear you. Can you play it again, Sam? Oh, Sam. Ah. afraid to ask. Sorry Sam, I didn't hear you. Could you play it again Sam? Oh Sam! This is the worst. Well, thanks Justin, thanks so much for that scoop. um so clark yes uh remind me and everyone listening what happened at the 12 guests of christmas show that we did last december in uh largo okay so what happened was i was declared the the winner uh however the last definitely, the last title that I came up with, I said White Rabbit,
Starting point is 00:10:31 and the answer was actually Rabbit Hole. So technically, I was incorrect, but no one called me out. Those are Doug rules. Nobody calls me out at the time. So, yes. So I think there was a – I don't know how good I feel about being declared the victor in that match. Yeah, you confessed to me – not confessed because, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:54 as far as you knew, it was called White Rabbit, Rabbit Hole, White Rabbit. I mean, who really cares? Yes. But, you know, you – but you told me about it right away after it was over and I thought oh that sucks but what are you going to do I declared a winner you got to declare a winner
Starting point is 00:11:13 somebody has to go home with the prizes but today since I was able to make it happen the three of you Justin, Sam and Clark finished in the top three on that faithful night so i want to uh call this basically a rematch so that justin and sam and clark because you still you know even without cheating you could have you could have won that night i mean i wouldn't call it cheating it was it was doug rules but okay there was but there
Starting point is 00:11:53 was also there was a second title that you were wrong about too right yeah i think so yeah i was wrong a couple times but nobody knew this is like yeah nobody knew and also it was not intentional so right well that's part of the fun to me is that like you know can you imagine winning a gold medal in the olympics and everybody knows well she did she cheated a couple times but you know she was open about it she didn't know she cheated do you want me to give them i'll give the manischewitz back that was my the thing that they gave me was a bottle of Manischewitz wine I will give it back to you guys and you can have it it doesn't count it doesn't yeah crimes and misdemeanors I wouldn't I wouldn't drink that wine if I were you uh
Starting point is 00:12:40 because I don't I don't know who you're talking about when you say they gave me a bottle of Manischewitz. I had nothing to do with it. Wait, Clark, was that the Michael Caine? Remind me what that question was. What were we talking about? It was Nicole Kidman movies. It was Nicole Kidman movies. Oh, Nicole Kidman movies.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And also the gal who I picked, she had a bottle of Manischewitz associated with her name tag. Because at the Christmas show, it was, I picked the Schindler's List tag, which I didn't mean to do. But anyway, for Christmas, that wasn't intentional. But yes, so I walked off stage with a bottle of Manischewitz. And I will give that to whoever wins today. How about when, when we're out of quarantine, you can have a two year old bottle of Manischewitz.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm listening. Do you know how hard it is to get Manischewitz in New York, Clark? Yeah. Right. Especially in these tough times. Yeah. It's the worst. All right. Well, what's the matter?
Starting point is 00:13:52 Everyone else is in LA. I'm just trying to get my bearings straight. What does it matter? Who cares? Yeah. You're, you're currently ahead of everyone by three hours. You're three hours into the future.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Could you let us know, is there anything we should know about that's going to happen within the next three hours? It's a documentary, but that's already happened in history. Is Michael Biehn there? Michael Biehn is not here. Okay. Robert Patrick is, though. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Oh, right. Yeah, I got is, though. Oh, no. Oh, right. Yeah, I got the wrong one. Oh, no. Patrick is nowhere near as much fun to say as Bean. Michael Bean. I prefer his brother, Sean Bean. Well, you know, it's crazy. Both of them have the same middle name you know what it is
Starting point is 00:14:46 it's has i can think of two people who aren't going to be on this podcast well there has been. Who needs them? Okay, so we'll chat about movies at the end if there's any time left over in the hour. But right now, we're just going to jump right to it. I'm going to say, let the games begin. Yes, just a couple of games. We're going to start with one called How Long Is It?
Starting point is 00:15:30 I'm going to name something and then you all three guess how long it is. Closest Without Going Over wins. Price is Right style. Ooh. Sam Levine goes first, then Justin Long, then Clark Wolfe.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Apologies, Clark, but. It's okay. It's the W. I get it. The W could be a good slot. Have you ever had a situation where things went alphabetical and you were grateful that you were all the way at the other end of the alphabet? Well, no, but I think that Price is Right rules might be a good time to have your name be at the end of the list. Oh, yeah, because you could dollar the shit out of somebody.
Starting point is 00:16:19 That's right. So maybe today will be the day. Okay. I love it Sam how long is it the running the combined running time of all the films
Starting point is 00:16:40 co-starring Tom Hanks and the late John Candy. Oh, wow. So you take the movies those two gentlemen were in. Together? And then you, together, and then you add it up. Oh, my God. How many hours and minutes would that be?
Starting point is 00:17:07 I mean, I'm not going to start naming them out loud the movies that i can think of with both of them in it right because that would like you know tip it maybe right it would it would i've got to look it up on my computer say what nothing i'm literally counting uh in my eye for the for what it is worth sir i would never ever use any chicanery when it comes to your movie games as you well know i'm the problem is i'm trying to think if i'm forgetting a movie oh i see that's what i'm going through in my head so okay assuming so i could be off by a factor of one, if not more, but I will say three hours and 58 minutes. Three hours, 58 minutes. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:18:23 That is the best I can come up with. Final answer. My final answer is three hours and 58 minutes. Yes, sir. That is the best I can come up with. Final answer. My final answer is three hours and 58 minutes. You got it. Thanks, dude. Justin Long, how long? I'll say two hours and 30 minutes. You're saying two hours and 30 minutes is You're saying two hours
Starting point is 00:18:45 and 30 minutes is the total amount of time that all of the movies they did together? You said Tom Hanks and John Candy? I did. I said I want Hanks and Candy. Oh, fuck. That's going to be in my head for a while.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Who's that dancing? Was it Marcy's Playground? Is that it? Yeah. Marcy's Playground is Sexy Candy. Sexy Candy. No, Sex and Candy. Oh, Sex and Candy. Oh my goodness.
Starting point is 00:19:22 I'm glad that in Justin's version, Marcy owns the playground. Yeah. I want sexy candy. Yeah, 2.30. Okay. Two hours and 30 minutes? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:40 Can I get help from my brother? No. I really want you to have to stick with this answer. Yeah. Can I get help from my brother? No. I really want you to have to stick with this answer. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to stick with it. Because there's no two movies that, when you put them together, would be less than two hours and 30 minutes. Oh, two hours and 30 minutes. That seems strange, right? Yeah. You're right. That's ludicrous.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I was thinking minutes, and I wasn't doing math properly. Can I change my answer? Yes. Okay, so let's do 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 180, like 180 minutes, 190 minutes, I'll say. Let's say, I'll say two, I'll say three, what did you say, Sam? Three hours and 48 minutes? What did I say? Did I say three hours and 48 minutes? What did I say? 58.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Three 58. Three 58. Just shy of four hours. Okay. Okay. I'll say three 30, three 40, three 40. Okay. Final answer.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Three hours, 40 minutes. Okay. All hours, 40 minutes. Okay. All right, Clark. Do you think you're in a good position now? I actually don't. I'm a little... If I... I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Maybe I'll feel like a dummy when you tell me what the movies are, but I'm having a really hard time figuring out what they were in together. Oh, boy. Just say one minute, Clark. I'll say zero minutes if they haven't been in any movies together.
Starting point is 00:21:11 No, no, no. You tried, Sam. Yeah, no. Justin said 340. I'm sorry, three hours and 40 minutes. Sam, I'll be honest with you. I can only remember one. Oh.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I mean, at this point, I think it's clear that I could only think of two, but I could not think of a third, and that's what was taking me forever was, is there one I was missing? But I'll save this part for after all the bets are in. All right. So, and that, Sam's, was 358? Yes, Sam's was $3.58? Yeah, Sam's $3.58. Justin's $3.40, so
Starting point is 00:21:47 now I'm really loving that if you thought it was just one movie. Well, I'm sure there's another one. I have a guess that it might be another one. All Price is Right rules and all $3.59.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Three hours, 59 minutes, one minute shy of four hours yes all right let's do the math shall we those men appeared together for the first time in a movie called splash oh sure it was a hundred and eleven minutes long no that oh a hundred mill if there's an hour eleven minutes oh wait two hours it was an hour and eleven seconds I thought it was over two hours I don't think I'm gonna be I think I'm over you think a Laurel and Hardy movie. Were they in Bachelor? No, they were in Volunteers was the other one. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:52 And now I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if there's, like, a Tom Hanks movie that John Candy had a cameo in or vice versa. And so that's where I'm worried I might get tripped up. I wish you were on every game show and could jump in while the host is telling the answer. I'm sorry, Doug. And describe all the things that could happen. I'm sorry, Doug.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Go ahead. I'll be quiet. It was only the second. They only did two movies together, Sam. And the second one was Volunteers. And that one clocked in a little bit longer than Splash. We only did two movies together, Sam. And the second one was Volunteers. And that one clocked in a little bit longer than Splash at 1.17. Total 218 minutes, which is three hours, 38 minutes.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Oh, we're all over! Oh, my gosh. Everyone went over. Oh, boy. But that was You were so close Justin You said 330 at one point No he said 350 And then went down I think
Starting point is 00:23:52 I thought I heard 330 I don't know whatever it was Yeah you might have said 330 But This is exciting We're going to settle this thing We're going to determine once and for all which one of the three of you happened to win these games today.
Starting point is 00:24:12 And we're going to do that after these messages. We'll be right back. Hey, we're back. Hi. Hi. Oh. I was putting your break on. I was putting your break on. This is commercials, right? Yeah. hi hi oh commercials right yeah yeah i mean you're gonna you guys are interested in those products right you're
Starting point is 00:24:33 gonna go oh yeah they all sounded i i just can't decide which one i like the best same i'll take two of all of them yeah yes sign me up for all of those things that i need to sign up for newsletter or something yeah i guess i should have warned you first of all what you were going to be yeah right but you know oh god i gotta tell you the nazi youth camps are probably gonna see a lot of signups hey man campus camp okay? People just want to go outside. Let the kids play. Let the kids play. It's not about ideology. It's about tying knots and swinging on
Starting point is 00:25:14 the swing. Community, really. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So we're here with Clark Wolf, the current champion of the 12 Guests to Christmas West Coast Edition. Justin Long is here.
Starting point is 00:25:42 He played on both coasts, I believe, last winter. Couldn't get enough. Prevailed on the East Coast. You won on the East Coast, yes? I always do better on the east coast you won on the east coast yes I always do better on the east coast yeah yeah home field advantage right it's my time zone it's the time zone I'm most comfortable in
Starting point is 00:25:57 that's right Justin got caught up in that whole scandal it was a scandal rippled through the podcast world for months afterward yeah and of course of course sam the greatest victim of them all you know i was fine with it i did not say i know i never complained to the corrections department you know i noticed doug i noticed that we're on a trip you were on the trivia night Dan Schecter's trivia
Starting point is 00:26:26 night I did show up to our friend Dan uh likes to uh likes to come up with all the questions and uh and then uh run the show yeah he does but I we this is not a humble brag just to say that I won my team won the week before. And it caught on. And he started saying things like, he started insinuating that we may have cheated only because, wow, you guys were the first time you're playing with this group, and now you win, because it's the honor system.
Starting point is 00:27:00 We're doing it over Zoom. It was so insulting. There's something so, like, monumentally insulting because it's the honor system we're doing it over zoom yeah it was it was so insulting there was something there's something so like monumentally insulting about being accused in a way of cheating at trivia it was and then then since other people started winning we of course have been like, oh, I wonder if they're cheating. I wonder if they're cheating. Yeah. I know exactly how you feel. Over the years, I've gotten many tweets from Doug Loves Movies fans who have accused me of untoward methods of somehow winning games.
Starting point is 00:27:35 And I'm like, do you think Doug is giving me the answers? Like, how could I cheat at any of these games? And also, why would I be cheating at Doug's movie games so that I can get the lucrative Wheaties cover? Like, I stand to win nothing other than bragging rights. And then if you do happen to win on a technicality, you get called back four months later and dragged through the mud and called a cheater all over again so i don't
Starting point is 00:28:06 know it's bullshit i don't ever want to win again yeah i'm well yeah i just gotta say you guys it's you know the gaming commission's been on my ass i'm just trying to settle this in the most fair way i could think of if we can't win any of Clark's victory with the asterisk, it's better to not win. And that's why I knew that it was 338, John Candy. We purposefully stayed
Starting point is 00:28:35 away from that number. So today we're going to play Last Win Stanton. The game we were playing when this whole thing happened and we were doing the films
Starting point is 00:28:53 of Nicole Kidman I have no idea what you're going to say we are going to start over I had a feeling and I have no idea what you're going to say. We are going to start over. I had a feeling. And in some case, but I'm certainly remembering some because of that night, you know, because there was, you know, you guys are all strong players. So it lasted a while and there were some good ones. You know, you guys are all strong players, so it lasted a while,
Starting point is 00:29:24 and there were some good ones. So you all went over on that last game, so we're just going to keep the same order that we had before. We're going to start with Sam and Justin. Wait a minute. We're doing Nicole Kidman again? Yes. He's saying we're doing Nicole Kidman again. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Come on. Yeah. We're going gonna be here until next Christmas you guys are you Kidman-ing see who really truly knows the most Nicole Kidman shows not the one who can sneak
Starting point is 00:29:56 a couple of past me this is oh my goodness oh no yeah you got this. Don't panic. There's no lifelines, of course. Unless you've got a window you can scream out of,
Starting point is 00:30:13 then there's nothing I can do about it. Sam, start us off with any film featuring the likeness of Miss Nicole Kidman. Well I think it is fitting of course that I start with a movie called White Rabbit, no wait, Rabbit Hole. Uh-huh. Well done. Shots fired. Shots fired. On the first movie. Rubbing it in. Rubbing that rabbit's hole Justin well Doug you know I think you're to die for oh heavens alright Clark do you have
Starting point is 00:31:01 any more coffee talk you'd like to add no I'm not I'm feeling good not'd like to add? No, I'm not. I'm feeling good. Not nervous at all. You might even say I'm dead calm. Oh. I don't know if that's really the kind of calm you want to be. Very calm.
Starting point is 00:31:20 You are so calm. Totally alive calm. Back to you to you dead sam uh oh no do you know something i don't um i uh yeah i saw i saw club dread oh boy i could talk about uh nicole kidman forever do you know who else i could talk about forever i could probably talk about batman forever. Do you know who else I could talk about forever? I could probably talk about Batman forever. Mm-hmm. Oh, that was... That had an exquisite setup. Thank you. Justin?
Starting point is 00:31:58 Um... Oof... Uh, I... Let's see. I am... I'm not sleeping. I feel like I am, though my eyes... Though my eyes were wide shut.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I didn't know how to do it. No, that was, that was, that was, yeah, that was far and away the best one of these. I just want to, I just want to play this game, Sam. I think these are the days of thunder. In New York City, apparently it is. In New York City, these are the days of thunder. Justin.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I thought I heard something. Everyone's got all these pets in the neighborhood. It's like tons of canines running around here. It's a veritable dogville. Oh, no. A veritable dogville? Run, man. I think, I believe it was Justin who said dogville
Starting point is 00:33:02 in the show last December. And I never saw it. And Sam went, did you say Dogma? Well, she's great in that movie. Yeah. So before we continue the game, I just want to say, Doug, thank you so much for putting this together because I've been really bored. It's like the hours.
Starting point is 00:33:30 They just drag on and on and on. So thank you for this invitation. All right. Now give us your answer. You're not getting another one out of me, sir. Not yet. Oh, boy. Not yet. Oh boy. Um, I want Hanks and candy.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Um, I, I almost started singing, which I know we're not supposed to do on podcasts. So I'll just, I'll just watch Moulin Rouge on mute. That's not a very clever one, but that's what my brain came up with. Justin? I remember there was that whole talk of
Starting point is 00:34:17 the series that she was in recently. I wish I could remember it. This is killing me because this is a couple months ago. It feels like two years ago. It really does. I don't think TV series count, by the way.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Okay. Oh, yeah, that's an excellent point, Sam. Yeah. Even if you thought of Big Little Lies, you can't say it. Okay. Okay. Okay. I will say, because I am in Connecticut currently,
Starting point is 00:34:52 and there are quite a few of these around here, I'll accept the wives. Good call. Good job. Hey, guys, you know what was a movie? Aquaman. Oh, that's it That's it, yes Oh, that sure was a movie that we all watched
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yep Oh, you know I was like a boy erased when I saw that movie because Aquaman. Oh, boy. Boy erased. That was when I was very upset with myself.
Starting point is 00:35:35 I don't remember if someone else said it or if I forgot and then realized afterward I forgot to say it because I had recently watched that movie for the awards season from the year earlier. But it's a very good movie. Did somebody say Days of Thunder? Yes, I did. What is that
Starting point is 00:35:57 invader? What's the one? Oh no. Not imposter.oster no that's Gary Sinise she looked she had the fuck
Starting point is 00:36:14 she's got vengeance on her mind and she's gonna she's an intruder not an intruder but an interloper an interloper oh you're so close I am? well maybe
Starting point is 00:36:31 I don't know did you guys hear that Gary Sinise grew his legs back? so the quarantine's been good for some people? it's worked out for some I can't say most people it's bad, but... Oh, no. I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:36:51 And then the skateboarding one. What the fuck is that called? Boys of Glory Days. Oh, I don't remember. I'm drawing a blank. Wait, how did you do so well the last time we played this? Well, I've had two Bud Light seltzers, and I'm on the East Coast. There were also 400 people playing last time.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Yeah. That's true. Thanks. Yeah. Okay, let's see. Oh, that's true. He was just sort of sitting there with Dogville in his pocket.
Starting point is 00:37:28 That's true. Uh, shit. Oh, oh, a series, um, what is this? Uh, uh, it kills me that I can't remember the name of that. I love it that we know exactly
Starting point is 00:37:43 which movies you're talking about. Yeah. Oh, I can't remember the name of that. I love it that we know exactly which movies you're talking about. Yeah. Oh, I don't remember. Intruder. No. And Chaucer. I forget the name of it. Violator.
Starting point is 00:37:54 What the fuck is that movie called? You're just going through every, every dildo name you could think of. And we already did White Rabbit, so. Oh, I don't remember Nicole Kidman. Nicole Kidman. Yeah, you know her. She's in that movie Dead Calm Rabbit. That's right.
Starting point is 00:38:22 She's not in any other, what is she in? Shit, I'm blanking. Doug, I'm blanking. I'm going to have to tap out. That's all right. Just hang out. We'll probably have a few minutes left at the end. It'll be fun to make you really frustrated and you'll get to hear that.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Okay, so... Back to Clark Yeah Justin, I'm sorry But you're thinking of Destroyer Destroyer, that's right Wonderful Karin Kusama directed
Starting point is 00:38:58 Oh, I And I also thought You might have been thinking of The Interpreter Also that one Oh, The Interpreter. Also that one. Oh, The Interpreter, Sean Penn? Sean Penn, yeah. Oh. She was also in a movie called The Invasion.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Mm-hmm. Right. That's the other I. Yeah. Oh, Cold Mountain. Oh, yeah. I always forget that one. The Peacemaker.
Starting point is 00:39:33 I always get the Peacemaker and the Peacekeeper confused. Peacemaker is with George Clooney. George Clooney, yeah. And I think the Peacekeeper is like Dolph Lundgren. I've never heard of it, so probably. I come the peacekeeper is like Dolph Lundgren. I've never heard of it. So probably. I come in peace. That's a.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Go in pieces. Asshole. Yeah. Oh, well, look at that. Oh, shared youth. That's lovely. Okay. Don't forget about Mentos.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Oh, has anyone said Practical Magic? Damn, that was my next one, Bat Sam. Aha! Sam says Practical Magic. Lion. Lion from Clark. I have such a hard time thinking of like her more current ones. Cause whenever I close my eyes and think of Nicole Kidman,
Starting point is 00:40:29 it's always nineties, Nicole Kidman. And I feel like I'm running out of those. So what was, Oh God, a bombshell. Oh yeah. Good one.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Oh, that's a current one. That one was not in play when we played last time because i tried to i tried to use it and i couldn't all right um oh rats and now that i was just yakking oh lee daniels the paper boy what was that other name um boy i'm glad this game doesn't require that you name the director of every movie uh oh um it's uh oh god i don't want to screw up the title um The Beguiled? Yes, The Beguiled is correct. The Beguiled. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:29 That's the Sofia Coppola? Yes. Oh, I'm sorry. We're not supposed to name the directors. Yeah, Colin Farrell comes into this house full of women. He's all handsome and his leg's fucked up and they all just want to, they all have various plans for him.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I liked the MacGyver a lot. That's like the pitch meeting. That's a direct – that's an excerpt from Sofia Coppola's – Well, because then that's how I really get them. They go, well, don't you want to tell us any more? And then I'll say, aren't you beguiled? How has that not beguiled you? Horny Colin Farrell.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Boy, that pitch really beguiled our asses. Is it my turn? Who's next? I think it's me. Okay, Clark. Australia. Oh, I should have thought of that one. That was the first Moulin me. Yeah. Okay, Clark. Australia. Oh, I should have thought of that one. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:42:27 That was the first Moulin Rouge. Yeah. When in doubt, start naming content. Foolishly, Doug, I did not start writing down titles when you said, I know, which is normally what I like to do, so I keep them fresh in my brain. Would you like a recap? Yes. Oh, I know, which is normally what I like to do. So I keep them fresh in my brain. Would you like a recap? Oh my God, no.
Starting point is 00:42:51 As reigning champion, I protest. Rabbit hole. Oh God. To die for. Oh, I got one, I got one, I got one I got one I got one um uh this is definitely one I think I said on the show uh secret in their eyes
Starting point is 00:43:11 yeah yeah um she was in the musical nine uh I've not seen that one it's robin it's awful doesn't mean it doesn't exist that's that's true well you hate musicals that sam i do not care for musicals really
Starting point is 00:43:37 that is true so would you say moulin rouge is a musical mean, it is a musical and I've seen it, but I don't care for it because it's a musical. Do you like any musicals, Sam? I like very few musicals, but I'm just talking about my own personal enjoyment. I'm not talking about me objectively watching something and saying, oh, this is crap. How could anyone like it? Yeah, no, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:44:04 But like when you see something, do you get into, is it hard for you to get into the story because the singing? Yes, I like succinct storytelling. And that is the antithesis of musicals. Did you see the Jesus Christ Superstar on TV, the NBC one? I definitely did not watch that. Oh my God. Okay, Sam, do yourself a favor.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Watch it. Sit down, light some candles. Watch it. It is so good. If you're not moved by that, then yeah, you can make a blanket statement that you don't like musicals, but that might draw you in.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Thank you. While we've been having this chat uh i remembered another one that i definitely said out loud at the show and that is a wonderful movie called malice malice then doug you asked me you we did the uh alec baldwin, you have a God complex. I am God. You're goddamn right I do. You're doing a few good men. Nicole Kidman's not in that. It's Braxball. Yeah, they put that line in the script just because Alec Baldwin was just saying it
Starting point is 00:45:24 to the guy out in the catering truck earlier. It takes brass balls to make nachos. Okay, Clark, it's back to you. Yeah, I've got the others. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, nobody said that? Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:45:43 I had that written, but I wasn't sure if anyone had said it damn it yeah I started writing when you when you were recapping but then we stopped
Starting point is 00:45:55 well did we meet up did you get far and away Days of Thunder I have Days of Thunder and now Far and Away it's okay you don I have Days of Thunder and now Far and Away. It's okay. You don't have to catch me up.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Here's the thing. At this point, I'm not even trying to remember Nicole Kidman movies anymore. I'm trying to remember the movies that other people said on the show that I was angry that i'd forgotten to write down and then beyond that i'm trying to remember when the show ended and i walked off stage that's the last time i like looked it up and i was like oh we forgot this one and this one i know um i know it's 27 i know it's so frustrating i was hung up on these and i know there was there were at least like three movies that i was so angry at myself for not saying because they were kidman movies that i knew i knew and i feel like i haven't said a single one of them uh oh i thought of one oh good um
Starting point is 00:46:57 oh um no i thought it was when somebody said that I was angry. All right. Bewitched, he says. I'm going to go Killing of a Sacred Deer. Oh, very good. A fresh one called Just Go With It. Oh, yeah. Just Go With It. She's in Just Go With It. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Hey, just go with it. She's in Just Go With It? She is. It's her and Dave Matthews. What? Yeah, I've seen this film. That's true. As in band?
Starting point is 00:47:39 As in DMV. Wow. Mm-hmm. Ah! Sorry, I'm excited. I just thought of two more. Okay. So, I think these are, oh, man.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I just can't, I'm stuck on a full title issue. Oh, shit. Yeah. Go for the shirt thing. I don't have a shirt. I don't, well, well okay let's keep thinking um um um um um um yeah i'll just say i will say the golden compass. Oh,
Starting point is 00:48:25 because it was not chronicles of Narnia. That's what I said. Right. That was a bonus one. You said chronicles of Narnia and it was in fact golden compass, but that's, that's a, I believe golden compass is correct.
Starting point is 00:48:38 The full title. Cause they never made another one. Uh, I don't know if they did. No, they didn't. Uh, so I'm going to say the golden compass.
Starting point is 00:48:46 Okay. And I believe that is correct. That was told to me afterward. Yeah. Uh, and now I'm remembering the two movies that I was very upset, uh, that I,
Starting point is 00:48:54 I did not say, uh, on the show. And, uh, the first is a movie called birth. Yes. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:49:01 I had that one earlier. Damn it. See, I didn't write it down. Because I, you know, some people say that's cheating, Batsam. But I know you do not think that's cheating. I am not stopping anyone else playing the game from writing it down. I know, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:49:15 I know your side of it. I don't think it's cheating to write it down. If you know you have terrible short-term memory. Okay. Has anyone, I know that Justin said Dogville. Those are my few shiny moments. It was a great poll. It was very good.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Oh. Margot at the Wedding. Oh, that's a good one. Wow. Okay. The other title that I was upset with myself is an Anthony Hopkins joint called The Human Stain. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:55 Come on, right. Yeah. I have seen that film. It is great. Yeah. Yeah. Back to you Clark alright
Starting point is 00:50:06 um I'm just gonna say no I have two um okay is shoot sorry um is dog tooth Okay. Is, is, shoot, sorry. Is Dog Tooth, is that a movie?
Starting point is 00:50:31 Yes. That she is in? I'm going to say Dog Tooth. I don't know if she's in it or not, but there's definitely a movie called Dog Tooth. Oh, I thought she really, I mean, I'm being serious. I really thought she was in it, but. So you think she's in a movie called Dogvilleoth. Oh, I thought she really, I mean, I'm being serious. I really thought she was in it, but. So you think she's in a movie called
Starting point is 00:50:47 Dogville and Dogtooth? Yeah, actually. I know that sounds weird. I know. Well, I can't tell you. I don't know. I've never even heard of Dogtooth. Well, I'm probably wrong. Yeah, Justin, do you want to look it up? Yeah, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:03 there is a film called Dog Tooth. It's a great drama. But it doesn't have the call. Okay. It's 100% great. Clark can have it because I just remembered what My Ace in the Hole was the first time we did this. I have that written down, but I'm unsure of what the title is exactly.
Starting point is 00:51:22 So I want you to say it, Bad Sam. Wait, My Ace in the title is exactly. So I want you to say it, Batsam. Of, wait, My Ace in the Hole? Yeah. So wait, is your final answer Dogtooth? Well, yes, because... Yeah, Yorgos. A guy named Yorgos. That same director also directed that. But she's not in it.
Starting point is 00:51:38 She's not. You were thinking of Nicole Kidmanakis. Oh, that's it. I hate when I do that. No, Bats Sam. I am, I can't, I'm squishy on what I think you're going to say and what the actual title is, so you should just go ahead. All right. It is a movie from the 80s called BMX Bandits. Oh, yeah. I was so proud of myself when I came up with that one on stage.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Yeah. Yeah. And so, Clark, you're done? Yeah. I hope so. I don't think I can come up with any more. Yeah. Well, we came up with, the last time we did this,
Starting point is 00:52:21 I said at the end that nobody said flirting. And for some reason this time, nobody remembered to say Paddington. I knew that, yeah, that there was an, is there an animated movie that's not Paddington? Yeah. That's also, I was going to say, she's in Happy Feet. Oh, that's right. I was trying to remember what the animated movie was that everyone was
Starting point is 00:52:43 talking about afterwards. Same, because she's in both of them, or if she's not in both of them, we let Happy Feet 2 also count. Well, congratulations to Sam. You proved once and for all we've finally settled this thing. Thank you. That you proved that with a little cheating anybody can win.
Starting point is 00:53:10 Look, I don't want to cop to cheating but Nicole Kidman has been at my place since we started this podcast. I tell you, I bet you there are Nicole Kidman movie titles she would not be able to come up with. I think you're absolutely...
Starting point is 00:53:27 That woman has been in a zillion movies. Boy, she's just a real celebrity. She's been listening in on the other earbud. And she's been... She's been writing on index cards. By the way, the only reason I said she was a celebrity was the Woody Allen movie Celebrity. Oh! Oh, the Gold
Starting point is 00:53:53 Finch. The Gold Finch? She's in like a zillion things. It's wild. Oh, shoot! I also have that one. Okay. what from now on bat sam if you and i are playing together at the start of the game i am just going to call out all right are we writing down titles and that way anyone else playing with us has the option because birth and uh
Starting point is 00:54:21 justin what justin just said i i had and then it was gone oh and grace of monaco and fuck yeah oh my life oh i should have said my life that's what i was saying is i had that my life my life oh and billy bathgate god damn it and stoker like a dummy she did the remake of Invasion of the Bios. Someone said the Invasion. Yeah, that's what it was. Anyway. I think they did a really good job.
Starting point is 00:54:53 A lot of them, though. Wow. What a fierce, exciting competition we were able to witness here today. I mean, does anybody have anything, really, anything they have to plug? You can watch both me and Clark on DC Daily,
Starting point is 00:55:20 which we are now doing from our homes on Yes. On the DC Universe streaming platform. We just hit 400 episodes. We just celebrated our 400th. It was awesome. Daily. Sam, what is that? I know that. It's on the streaming service DC Universe, which has
Starting point is 00:55:39 great original programming like Titans and Harley Quinn, the animated series and Doom patrol. Doom patrol. And, and then they have an unscripted show called DC daily and it's six wonderfully nerdy people, including me and Clark.
Starting point is 00:55:58 And we break down all the important DC related news. And in light of there being any news we look back at older dc stuff some comics some new comics we look at movies of yeah new movies and and new episodes that drop on the service oh that's how you got the batman forever one yes okay yes that's absolutely correct yeah that particular batman is kind of a secret just for the fans no one saw that one with jim carrey wait so do you guys prefer are you sam are do you specifically like dc over marvel are you i actually do like dc over marvel i grew up reading uh mostly dc comics uh batman yeah and then death of superman uh that's oh i remember that yeah that over Marvel. I grew up reading mostly DC Comics. Batman. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:46 And then Death of Superman. Oh, I remember that. Yeah, that was a big thing. When I really started reading. But you know, my brother had... I could talk about this here because we're not on DC Universe right now. But my brother was like a big X-Men fan, so I used to borrow his X-Men comics. Oh, you're not supposed to mention Marvel? They get upset when you
Starting point is 00:57:02 mention? No, that's not... We're not allowed to mention it on the DC platform. Oh, that's not. We're not allowed to mention it on the DC platform. Oh, that makes sense. We can loosely allude to it, but I don't think we're allowed to say Marvel. I mean, if it was up to me, you wouldn't be able to mention it on my show either.
Starting point is 00:57:20 I gotta run, you guys. Got so many content to make. Thanks, Doug. Thank you, Justin Long. Thank you, Clark Wolf. Got so many content to make. Thanks, Doug. Thank you, Justin Long. Thank you, Clark Wolf. Thank you, Sam Levine. You guys are all awesome.
