Starting point is 00:00:01 This is a headgum podcast. Want to watch this episode? Check it out on our YouTube channel by going to YouTube.com slash doughboys media. In the 1930s, a wave of immigrants from the Korean Peninsula fenced in by racist zoning laws formed an ethnic enclave in Los Angeles called Koreatown. After the bifurcation that followed the Korean War, a war heavily affected by American intervention, another wave of immigrants continued to cluster in the area,
Starting point is 00:00:33 ethnic discrimination having been legally, if not effectively, prohibited. It had been that war that incited the cross-cultural pollination that birthed a different sort of KFC, Korean fried chicken. A byproduct of black American servicemen introducing the dish to their South Korean cohorts, who altered the preparation and seasoning to fit local tastes, this craveable, crispy chicken showed one upside to America's modern, less overt colonialism. Once K-fried chicken reached critical mass in its home territory, it naturally expanded back into the states like a culinary or a boros,
Starting point is 00:01:05 with Korean fried chicken outlets clustering a neighborhoods like L.A.'s Korea town. And in 2020, amidst the pandemic, a new Korean fried chicken concept focused on sandwiches opened as a pop-up in K-town, named as a portmanteau of chicken and Somali. Today, with multiple locations in L.A. plus one in the NorCal Hippie Hub of Berkeley, this emerging chain is hoping to endure in its now oversaturated sector. But as L.A.'s newly expanded derail line, as promoted via cheeky official t-shirts reading, the D has made K-town the central spoke connecting the city's affluent west side to its bustling downtown, this historically Korean neighborhood may see its identity erode due to gentrification. And with Koreanized versions of American indulgences like fried chicken and corn dogs, inducting not just Angelinos but state ciders at large into the broader world of Korean cuisine,
Starting point is 00:01:55 the question is, at what point will Korean American food, too, follow the pattern of past diaspora and have its culinary identity absorbed as just American? This week on Do Boys, Shumalee. Welcome to Do Boys, the podcast about chain restaurants. I'm Nick Tiger Wiger along with my co-host. John Early. My co-host is Catman Crothers, the Spoon Man Mike Mitchell. Catman Cruth.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I think it's like Scatman Crothers, the actor. Oh, Catman. So this is kind of nice. That's nice. It's more of a toast than a roast. Hello, Doe Boys. smoking out of my porch and was talking, was taking what I thought was a cute video of birds,
Starting point is 00:02:53 but they ended up fucking. I know Mitch thinks that's hilarious, so I had to share. This was not planned, so I apologize for the talking. Lowell was going to send to my friend. Love the pod, NEM and Amelia.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Did he send the video of the birds or no? Thank you, Vicki. Vicki did not send the video of the birds. Roast at birdfuck.com. But our URL, that's very fitting for that as well. It is. Yeah. Why didn't you send the video of the birds?
Starting point is 00:03:16 Yeah, Vicki, why didn't you send the video the birds? It's fine. It is fine. Look, our guests are, I don't know what that noise was. It was an unhappy noise that one of our guests made. I'm not unhappy. I'm over the moon. We just walking on air.
Starting point is 00:03:33 We have a murder's row today, Wags. Sure do. A murder's row. I said, hey, I said, we got a couple of guests. And I said, what if we add a third guest? And you said, was it? I was wondering what I do was. We asked you.
Starting point is 00:03:49 And then you said, hey, makes my job easier. And I agree with you that the three guests we have here, well, actually, one is actually being quite rude. I know. No, I'm going straight on. You're not disturbed. Like, you don't even realize. I'll do these.
Starting point is 00:04:04 The way I broke my neck going to do not disturb so quick is crazy. We're very excited to have one first time, a couple repeat guests and one first time guess. But before that, today is my mom, my mom and dad's. My ghost dad. My dad is past. Yes. Not, not, yeah, ghosts. So, you know, wrist, and power the whammer. Thank you why. But ghosts have love anniversaries too. And I had a ghost on stage with me this past weekend. Oh, yeah. Wow. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. In the podcast. Like, you guys want to, no, just go. Well, they haven't introduced. I know. No, you can say, talk. Are you going to do it and then he can get into it? All right. We can, we can ask you because why, actually, my
Starting point is 00:04:46 co-host actually had another world the experience. Yeah, I don't want to really get it, but I did, I'm a skeptic, but I did have an very, I almost used the word intimate, that's the wrong word, I had an encounter with a some sort of apparition while I was in my living room.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Sexual? No, it was not again, not again. That's why I said, I said, I shouldn't use the word intimate. It was not erotic, yeah, no, there was no, there's no, there's no contact involved in all. I think it was a little bit like what happened to Dan Ayproid and Ghostbusters. I think something like that went on. Eroticism can happen without touch. Sometimes it's the lack of touch.
Starting point is 00:05:18 It's crazy. Exactly. And often for women, it's what we hear, not what we see or feel. And if it was a woman ghost, then her brain was her most important sexual organ. Trust and believe. It was a, it was a what appeared to be a woman ghost or a girl. It was like a diminutive. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Hold on. An underage woman. It's a diminutive, it was a diminutive female figure whose face was shrouded with some sort of red and white, like robes and then they were blocking the door. Wait, wait. Were you thinking of your waking life? I woke, so this is the thing. I have sleep paralysis, so I've experienced sleep paralysis demons before.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I did not, this was not a sleep paralysis situation. People got so mad. They're like, they're dumb. In the comments for that episode, people were so mad. What were they mad about? Isn't it fun to think that he maybe saw a ghost? I shouldn't read comments. I messed up.
Starting point is 00:06:09 They're saying you're dumb that you thought it wasn't a sleep paralysis? No, I mean, I mean, like, it might be sleep paralysis. I'm just saying having experienced sleep paralysis, dozens of times in my life. This was very different because I was not in a space that was like my home. I was in my actual home, I could tell, and I was fully mobile. Like, I could move. Like, when you're just totally rigid, I can't even feel like I can breathe.
Starting point is 00:06:29 So it was a very different sensation. Now, that's as I said, I agree with a skeptical case. What's most likely is there was some sort of trick of light or some sort of, like, weird hallucination. It was a trick of light. And it was Christmas Eve, right? It was Christmas Eve, and I had been quite a, quite a miserably. in terms of my employee's bonuses.
Starting point is 00:06:48 No, I know it wasn't intimate, but had she made a move, would you have gone with that? I think I would. Well, again, we'd have to resolve the age thing. But I think I would. You got a ring on that finger, my man. I know, but I think if she, like...
Starting point is 00:07:02 You think that it just is fine. I think I get a ghost hall pass. Totally. That'd be funny. Well, because she could be very old, actually, because she may have died many decades ago. Oh, oh, wait, hold on a second. We're tired because it was a child ghost, it sounds like that.
Starting point is 00:07:15 No, it was not a child. diminutive figure. I didn't see the face and it couldn't tell how old they were. It could be like Linda Hunt. It could be like a small woman. If it was a Linda Hunt type, would you have hooked up with it? I mean, I think if it started to naturally go there and they were
Starting point is 00:07:30 initiating it, I feel like it'd just be along for the ride. Well, if your lovely wife walked in, you were getting it off with a spirit on your couch, how would you feel? You don't know their arrangement. Yeah, I don't think she'd bat an eye. That's fair. You don't know what's going on with people these days. Don't ever assume someone's arrangement. That's fair. She's in there with a yoga teacher anyway.
Starting point is 00:07:46 She's doing all right. Is this a ghost? I think so. Mitch, you have a drop to play. Sam hit him with a drop, sorry. I was trying to say, I was going to say, Emma, I was confused. Give me a nickel, I'll tickle your pickle. I do remember that.
Starting point is 00:08:03 What disgusting, what disgusting time. Sucks that I have to hear this. What disgusting times. Sick shit. The 90s disgusting times. Pickle, at least a dime. Pickle hanging out from under your shorts. Okay, where's the next step?
Starting point is 00:08:33 Let's put this thing along. Wow, this is long. Did you make this? Oh, no. Who made it? A fan? I do remember that. What disgusting time.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Anyways, the pickles were good. The pickles were good. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Now, there's nothing worse than having three funny people, and then having them here. We're funny, too. Nick and I can be...
Starting point is 00:09:03 Speak for yourself. Hello, DK. and Dofam. Here's a drop I made a while back about tickling pickles pickles. Hope you all enjoy and can't wait to see you in Charlotte this Thursday. Sam Rogic, Sam the Man, as is your new nickname. That's what David Wayne said. I like Sam. I said Dougich, but we'll go with Sam and the Man.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Emma, the MVP is out again. You are the guest engineer in her stead. You played that drop. What was the runtime on that some bitch? 56 seconds. Yeah, that was way too fucking long. We were supposed to have a 30-minute, 30-second limit. It was from no beats current reigning drop-off champion.
Starting point is 00:09:39 I don't know. Look. You don't get the liberty to do a longer drop-off champion. You're embarrassing me in front of our funny guests. This is embarrassing. We can't have this happen. I don't know who picked out the long-ass drop. I didn't pick it out.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Yeah, I know you did. It was Drop King's fault. You fucking idiot Drop King? Take it up with him. Also, you could check it once in a while before the show. starts. Let's introduce our guests, please. This is a fucking...
Starting point is 00:10:05 Roast at Birdfuck.com. Drops at BirdFuck.com. And you know, we have a lot of great guests in the Do Boys podcast. Well, today we have... The talented young cast of Maddie's Secret. What the hell? I thought it was the young and talented cast.
Starting point is 00:10:23 No, it's always been the talented young cast. Okay. Yeah, I knew my head. It was the exciting and young cast. What? That's just not what it was supposed to be. Do you want to try it again? No.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Okay. We can take it again? No, no, no. No, I think it's okay. Yeah. Okay, great. I think it's fun. It's a little messy.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Yes. Totally. Maddie's Secret, the new film in theaters now as of this episode's released, John or early Claudio Doherty, Patrick Regan. Thank you so much for being here. We can't believe we're back. I know. It's crazy to be back.
Starting point is 00:10:49 So, and yet. And yet, it's past first time. And that's why I'm taking a back seat today. Pat said he's going to take a back seat today. You're too funny to take it back seat today. You don't need to take it. No, because I can feel, I bet I could feel the audience as being like,
Starting point is 00:11:03 we want a John and Claudia classic. And then this person. No, this is an exciting new tweet. Yeah, get in there. And to promote the movie, it has to be as many members of the cast as possible. No, exactly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And hey, we don't have three. We have four because the Spoon Man joined in that intro. You're part of the film as well. I am in, hey, he really is. He really is. I had a blast. I'm honored to be a part of it. You know, I showed the movie.
Starting point is 00:11:29 in San Francisco, which is a classically gay city. Yes. And afterwards, someone came up to me. He was like, hey, he was like, it was so funny. Mitch, Mike Mitchell is in it. And I was like, yeah. And he was like, are you going to do dough boys? Nothing about the movie.
Starting point is 00:11:51 He just said it was funny. That sounds like one of our listeners. Very much. That's very embarrassing. You know who else saw it? just last night, Amelia Marino. Wow. I loved it so much.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Thank you. Everyone crushed it. Everyone was funny. Great job. Congratulations. Go see it. That's so nice. Yeah, the only person I was saying it is Waggs.
Starting point is 00:12:11 I know. It's a bomb. I haven't got a chance to see it. I'm very excited. It's interesting. It was on in many theaters in Los Angeles. You had a really busy weekend? Today's Tuesday, Monday.
Starting point is 00:12:20 I should have, I would have liked to see it. You hung out with Tim Calpacus and Nuki and Eva on Saturday night. I did, but that was a planned hang. You would think all of those people would want to say. see Maddie's secret instead they... You know, all this is that Eva actually did see Maddie's secret. She told me that she saw Maddie's secret. And loved it.
Starting point is 00:12:35 It was a very strong endorsement from Yv Anderson. Thank God. It was great taste. Well, this is an important straight guy outreach moment for the movie. Yes, this is huge. Less people think, I mean, it's really for everyone. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah. No, it is for everyone. But everyone is already going to say it except for straight guys. Right. The data shows. What does your guys is a data show? Do you guys have most of the data show?
Starting point is 00:12:58 Do you guys have most strike our listeners? I would say we have mostly male listeners. Yeah. But I'm not sure what the split is. I mean, if live shows it feels like it's like 60, 40, 70, 30. We definitely have a substantial female listeners. I'm not sure what are the host land on the sexual spectrum.
Starting point is 00:13:13 I don't know. I honestly don't know. There's no, there's no breakdown of, of, you can't be the talk before we thought it. There's a huge chart. There might be demographic data. There might be of whether. I'm sure had gum. Higgum knows who's gay and who's straight.
Starting point is 00:13:31 They definitely. 100 are paying. Can I just say that I do, like, I do think, though my movie obviously is being marketed as a gay movie. Or it's for the girls, it's for the gays. Which is so unfair. It's so unfair. It sucks. But no, but I do think that actually, right, Mitch, that men would be surprised by how much of a movie movie it is.
Starting point is 00:13:53 A thousand percent. You're going to go in there, you're going to laugh your ass off. Yeah. And, yes, it is a, it's a. Movie. Yes. Yeah. A hundred years night.
Starting point is 00:14:02 So it was movie movie movie. So you're saying movie. It's a movie movie movie. As a straight man, it was a movie movie movie. As a straight man, it was a movie movie movie. And there were a lot of, yeah, a lot of straight people there who, who, it's for everyone. It's for everyone. Are you kidding this?
Starting point is 00:14:21 Is you guys picking up with? Because I can take it off. I think it's fine. Okay, okay. This is your, this is for audio listeners. This is your bracelet, which is lovely. Are you all picking up on that? Because I'm happy to take it off.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I think it could add texture. And give the listener a sense of place. No, totally. Place near your bracelet. I'm a place where a bracelet is. All three of you are so funny in the movie. Oh, Mitch, you're funny, too. Don't you like that.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Don't be like that. Don't be like that. You know what? Amelia told me that I got a pop. That's what she said. He got a pop of a laugh. Of course he did. You always do.
Starting point is 00:14:57 What do you mean? A pop of laughter? I just didn't know what I meant. You thought it was surprised or gasping? A rapturous reception. People are very excited. And it's such a, it's such a, such a funny movie, and it's great that it's in theaters. Go see it in the movie theater with other people.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Thank you. That's really the way to do it. That's the way to do it. And take an opportunity to leave your home. And it's a nice opportunity. Yes. I want to be doing it. I'm seeing this movie.
Starting point is 00:15:26 I've seen this bad boy in a theater. It really is. I'm going to see movies all the time. I'm going to go see it in the theater. I'm going to go see it in the theater. I'm going to see the theater. Absolutely am. Wait, why we give you specific day and time? Yeah, why not?
Starting point is 00:15:37 I'll commit to a screening. I'll go this weekend. All right. You don't know, like, give me my fucking phone. They'll buy tickets here. And then listeners too can buy tickets right now. No, exactly. If they want to see you.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Stop listening to the podcast now. Go and book your ticket. Wait, when does this come out? We don't know yet. Yeah. Oh, interesting. It might not so weird. Can I ask a question that I wanted to ask earlier?
Starting point is 00:16:02 The oiliness in your skin. Yes, me? No. And then we'll get... It did seem like you were coming from it. I know, I know, because I looked up on your... I asked you a question and it is shady. Is it affected by your diet?
Starting point is 00:16:17 Oh, I think yes. I felt very oily today and even broke out. And I was like, is this because I'm eating oily foods? I don't believe that. I think it's more hormonal. That's why teens, their hormones are ooh, and then they're breaking out. And they're having huge emotional problems because of it. So you're saying I'm in heat.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Yeah, I think something's going on. I think you're having your second puberty. Yeah. Whoa. Your voice is going to get lower. But now can I talk about my skin? Yeah. Okay, you guys might all think I've been shot in the face with a makeup gun.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I know that's what you're thinking. I think you look great. It's because I was shooting a TV. Oh, that is so embarrassing. I've come straight from set, so that's why I've got so much makeup on. I want you to know I wouldn't choose this makeup. Your camera ready, though. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:17:09 I think I'm too camera ready. There's too much. No, not at all. I'm so for a gig I bad at makeup. Like, I can't see the difference between different makeups. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Like all makeup looks kind of the same to me. Okay. Really pretty. Yeah. I have a rosacea on my nose, and my mom said that I should get treatment for it. And I do. I go into the dermatologist and he zaps my nose to make it. V-beam?
Starting point is 00:17:31 What is it? V-beam laser? Yeah, that's what it is. Yeah. He has two different lasers. He uses different ones sometimes. But for the most part, he zaps my nose and it hurts.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Yeah, that's got to hurt. And I put little goggles on or whatever. And I also get PRP for my hair. That's the other thing. What does that work? They draw your blood and then they spin it until it's plasma. And then they inject your head to try. Like, who sunk that up?
Starting point is 00:17:55 Do you mean? Yeah. Who does it comfort? Maybe. Just maybe. You don't have to buy it. No, I'm doing it right now. He's got an analyst.
Starting point is 00:18:01 Not like this guy call my bluff. Are you going to go solo or take a friend? No, I'm taking my lovely wife. No, that's perfect. Do you have, um, take the ghost? You should take the ghosts. If we see what you would do with a diminutive red escorted lady. You're respectful to buy the ghost a ticket.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Would your wife be down to do something with the ghost and you? And I'll say my skin has been really dryly. Really. Interesting. No, no at all. I can see it in the mirror. Whoa. Do you ever use moisturizer?
Starting point is 00:18:30 I've been trying. These are things I can't get myself. Trying. These are things I cannot get. I can't get myself to stretch every day. I cannot get myself to, like, moisturize every day. Yeah. I just forget.
Starting point is 00:18:41 But do you wash your face? I'm comfortable saying on air that before this year I never had. Well, guess who else doesn't wash your face? Who? Beyonce. Wow. That's what I'm saying. But I've heard that.
Starting point is 00:18:54 But like, but you were going to say, you. I do wash my face. Oh, sorry. Bajonze and Beyonce. I thought you used to not. No, I washed my face in the shower. Yeah. And then, but it's because I wash my face that I feel motivated to moisturize.
Starting point is 00:19:09 Well, do you want to know the real theory I have? Because the water sucks out the moisture. It's crazy. They're worried about this episode getting too. Gay. No, no. I love, I like it. I have a theory about my body's natural, like, rhythms.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Yeah. Because, like, I've never worn deodorant. You never want to be serious? And I don't smell. I'm at it. Pat, you don't. I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:19:32 And I sweat a lot, but it's an orderless sweat. And I think... You're never, you're not wearing deodorant now. I'm not wearing deodorant. Now, nor have I ever worn deodorant. You will not catch me wearing deodorant. But I think now my body just learned to not need it. Well.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Secondly, I like also think I don't smell because when I was in fourth grade at a sleepover, we watched Tim Curry's the Tim Curry-It movies. Uh-huh. It's scared the shit out. of me. I was terrified every waking moment for one calendar year, made my brother sleep in my room with me. And I would go into the bathroom when it was time for a shower and like, because he climbed out of the drain at one point in the movie in fourth grade. I like, I would just go in and turn the shower on and I did not shower for a year. Oh my. To save my life. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:20:14 I was like, I would be about to and I'd be like it's not, if it, it's not worth dying for. No what, so no one, no one called like was, you didn't have any authority figure being like you got a bathe. Well, I would go in and turn the shower on. So you were faking it. I was faking it. I was like, kind of wet my hair. I do you remember one time my dad was like, you didn't shower? And I was like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:20:32 But you never, you just never stunk. You never smell. Yeah, you're saying you never smelled. Because I did get made fun of things for things. So you have fourth grade, where are you puberty wise? Pre-pubity, pre-pubity. That's pre-pre-best. Right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:45 So you're not going to be stinking then. Totally. I know. You're not going to stink. But you look dirty. You're playing around. I know, I wasn't grass. And also.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Yeah. The butt. Oh. Oh. I don't talk about it. I don't talk about it. I don't talk about it. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:20:59 But I don't know why I brought that up, except to say, like, I don't moisture it. Because I, like, I think for some reason in my mind, there's some, on some level, I believe that, like, for one year, I did no hygiene. Yeah. So, my body had to, like, go into some kind of mode where it's, like, we're going to have to do. But this is connected to there's a myth that, like, you don't need to shampoo your, like, if you stop shampooing your head, then your head learns to never do shampoo. And then, I think everyone was like, actually, that's not true. Well, Kristen Cavalier. only shampoes her boys once a week.
Starting point is 00:21:28 I've gotten into the one end. She shampoes what once a week? Christine Cavalry only shampoes her boys once a week. Her children. Her boys. But I think she has a girl as well. I'm not okay. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:42 I just stopped using shampoo every day because I was using... I use it every day. You use shampoo every day? That's my one thing I use every day. I now I'm doing it every other day. I don't use it every day. I just want to interject real quick and say, I have procured two tickets to a Sunday 10, 13,
Starting point is 00:21:56 A.m. screening of Maddie's secrets. Yeah. So morning and early movie. I'm sitting in seats, we'll be sitting in seats E6 and E7. So, I'm not at one. How about that? Stop by and say hi. Is that good?
Starting point is 00:22:11 I think it's good. I mean, it's big, big, that was a big house. Thank you so much for supporting the movie. I was going to see it regardless, but I don't know why you have to be such a jerk about it. You're being a jerk. You know I'm going to see the movie. I knew you were. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:26 You have A-list. I thought you would just do it. I mean, I'm going to an independent theater, but yeah, I do have A-List as well. Oh, you're going to an independent movie. Were you seeing it? I will see, I'll be seeing it in a death theater on my side of town. Pat hates to go to none. AMC.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Well, because I pay for AMC A-Lister, so it's like, and I don't see that many movies in any case. I'm always like, it's such a waste because, like, I could go to four, I think, three movies a week. I go to almost none. And then when I do see a movie to not go to AMC, it feels like so bad. I like I get that and I do like going to using A-list first and foremost. But if I have another option, I just like, okay, okay. I mean, like, I don't know. I mean, it's, I don't mind going to independent theaters.
Starting point is 00:23:07 If I'm going to like a regal or something, I'm like, I feel like I'm getting ripped up. Yeah. You know, but going to like a- I'm always supporting like local theaters and stuff. On my own way is. Like, I'll store an event for them or I'll host like something for them. I'll bring my own half for you. You make popcorn at your house and bring it out.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I'll go door to door. I'll say, there's a showing of this movie at this theater. Come by. Back to shampoo. So. Okay, definitely. We have gotten, like, John, you also have gone high and tight. You got, you got the hair cut. Yes, well, I buzzed my head for the movie because I wear a wig in the movie.
Starting point is 00:23:42 I play a woman. I play Maddie herself. Yeah. And so I buzzed this because it made the wig easier to go on and off. And have you just stuck with it? Do you just love not dealing with my hair? I love it. It's great.
Starting point is 00:23:56 It also is a great look for you. And I think you have the right head shape. It's just like sometimes it can be very flattering. But I like since I've switched to the buzz cut, I have shampooed appreciably less. Like I also shampoo like once a week. Yeah, same. I mean.
Starting point is 00:24:15 When you get in the shower. When you get in the shower. When you're one of her boys. I'm thinking about buzzing. I think you were growing it out. So I went to a barber. Mitch hasn't said a word for a while. I know. I'm going to come in at some point.
Starting point is 00:24:33 And I'm thinking it's on the movie. And I love the movie. Wait, what do you want to? Are you saying you don't like the movie? No, hold on. How could you? You think it was a weird vibe on set? No, the vibe on set was great.
Starting point is 00:24:43 I did lose my socks that day because they got covered in blood. Spoiler. I'm so sorry. That's okay. That's what I wanted. Thank you. That's all you need is that acknowledgement. Yeah, I wanted to say that you also have a buzzed head and you are in a theater production right now.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I was. No, not anymore. Oh, my God, you saw it. I saw it. I was there. I saw it too. And Claudia saw it. I really see.
Starting point is 00:25:08 You didn't support that much. I thought you were going to. I was not aware of that. I would have loved doing it. I cried afterwards. Oh, wow. Not during. What we did before our moth days.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Yes. And a Wallace-Shahn play. It was fantastic. And you were great in it. Thank you. And you play. And you played... Had a mustache.
Starting point is 00:25:24 You had a mustache, and you played kind of like a creepy and so funny, and it was in another murderer's row of actors in there. It was fantastic. As an on actor,
Starting point is 00:25:32 I have a play question for you. When I see a play, I'm like, how'd they remember all those lines? Well, guess what? If you saw this play, you'd be asking that question a hundred times over because there were a lot of lines
Starting point is 00:25:42 that you had. How'd you do it? You just do it the same way you memorize the phone number. Chunk by chunk. Wow. It's the same muscle you use. to memorize your wife's phone.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Times a thousand. Next question. It's the same question I asked him after I saw the play because it's so much. It was so much dialogue. It was very impressive. It was great. It was so much monologue.
Starting point is 00:26:08 It was monolog. Sorry. So die, two. Yeah. Mo. One. I may do a buzz cut as well, Pat, because I'm thinking
Starting point is 00:26:22 of going to Turkey. I don't think the PRP has worked for me. Oh, to do the thing. You have tons of hair. What are you told you about? Should I show them? Oh, my gosh. No, a long a second. Here's, this is the issue here. Utterly normal. Yeah, you got a little bit of the city.
Starting point is 00:26:38 That's okay. You're mad in your 40s. Why? You know the crown. The crowd is fine. No one's looking to the crown. You're also a tall Drake of Waters. No one's looking up there. I just think people are getting really quick to go to Turkey. It doesn't matter. But I'm going to go to Turkey and I'm going to do it. Unless you're trying to date and eight.
Starting point is 00:26:52 tall woman, you don't have to worry about it. No one's looking there. I mean, yeah, you can see it. It's not a problem. It's an issue. It's there. You just want to go to Turkey. It would also be fun to go to Istanbul.
Starting point is 00:27:03 With some guys and who are assimilite. They also want to go. There is, there is a, there, I hear once you're done that there is like a plane full of guys who have shaved heads, basically. Wow. Yeah, it's funny. It's such a thing now. It's like so many people are like, I'm going to Turkey to get the procedure.
Starting point is 00:27:21 But is it just because it's cheaper and, Turkey, you can get it done here, right? The money's on issue for me, sorry. I talked to someone and if you could book something, like, you maybe could do it here. You could do it here, but I talked to someone and they're, and I talked to someone who's done it, and they were like, you 100% should go to Turkey.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Do you have the Harvana app? I'm kidding. It's because you can get secondhand hair from someone else who's here. Well, also, I'll just say this. Once again, there's an issue, and it's a guy's issue, so they figured out how to fix it in one second. Oh, shit. Say that.
Starting point is 00:27:56 That part. That part. And anything that happens to just girls are like, we don't know, man. On your own. No, this is the thing that women can get done too.
Starting point is 00:28:07 It isn't. Yes, no, it is. It doesn't work the same way. And you just said on the way home turkey. Well, it depends on why you've got thinning hair as a woman, but I know that someone I know,
Starting point is 00:28:16 was like, can I get that kind of thing? And it's not going to work on you. Oh. Yeah. Wow. Another win for the boys. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I just don't think you should do it. Even just as Claudia's friend as like a son of a mother and like a friend of an actress. Like you shouldn't be supporting this. All the ways I have my mom and Claudia and Courtney, my sister have luscious locks. They don't have, they don't need to get. I've got thin hair. That's okay. I don't mind.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Yeah. I just do. How do you have beautiful hair? Mitch. God, we're friends. Maybe I won't do it, but I've heard that it's like, it can be $45,000 to do it in the States as opposed to like $7,000 overseas. It's still a lot of money. What I would say is like if you're collecting opinions of friends and well-wishers, I think you'll find the consensus that people are saying, Mitch, you don't need that.
Starting point is 00:29:14 But if it's a thing you want for yourself and it's going to make you feel better, then, you know, I mean, like that. I feel like people who get procedures like that. If it's for their own self-esteem, it usually improves their quality. Isn't it also funny if I did die on an operating table on turkey? That is, like, a funny way for me to go in a way. I mean, I guess, like, I don't know if I put it towards the top of the list. I think there's, like, funny your way. I think if, like, you, like, died, like, choking on a hot dog.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Okay. That's funny. I think turkey, hair surgery is a funnier way to die. I think that's a pretty funny way for me to die. I think it's been done so many times. As a food podcaster, though, there's kind of the yellow. element of like not the onion, you know, a chain restaurant review where it chokes on a hot dog.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Yeah, all right, that's fair. Yeah, so, but I think, where I think there's less of that irony baked into the turkey hair procedure. It would be fun to go to Istanbul. Slip on a banana get shot, and they get shot in the head. I'm laughing. Who's laughed?
Starting point is 00:30:13 I'm laughing. Pretty funny. What a weird combo that I slipped on a banana and then someone shot me while I was slipping. It would be expecting. you to die from the hand. They know you're going to be down there in the stick, so they aim the gun. Yeah. And they're good enough to shoot me as I'm slipping mid-slip?
Starting point is 00:30:29 It's the perfect crime. We have quite the lineup here today. Yeah, we'll be very fun. We sure do. Oh, my God. Today we have. It's the exciting new cast of Madi Secret. The talented young cast of Madi Secret.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I want to ask about before we, before we get into this week's chain, I want to talk about another thing, another food-related thing that's come up on the Do Boys podcast before, which is the proposed but still yet to debut pasta girls pod. Oh, okay. Oh, my God. We promised our listeners. It's a legal issue that is slowing us down. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:06 And can you talk about it? Is there anything you can tell us? No. Look, it's, look, we just need our fans, your fans and our fans who are the same fans. To come together. The same, exact same audience. but yeah 6040 split we just need you guys to make your voices yeah literally call your reps you could put us you could put dough boys out of business if you just did the same if you did the same
Starting point is 00:31:31 like that 100% I'm saying I'm telling you if you guys did pasta girls dough boys is going but you do seasons do seasons this is what y'all should do like season one of pasta girls do eight episodes pre-recorded yeah like I'm happy to come on as a consultant I don't just because I've worked and just feel like this is my expertise you don't mean Yeah, you're already a podcaster. There's just a million things I know. Right. That could be really helpful.
Starting point is 00:31:56 You got to integrate a Patreon in there somehow off the bat. Off the bat? But doesn't that turn everyone ice cold? No. No, actually. Doesn't people like it? Just want more content. Because one of my worst things is subscriptions.
Starting point is 00:32:13 But not for my patron. But I think if it was just Patreon, you wouldn't do it off the bat. But if it's like we're doing one episode a week and then also we're doing two a month of like page me. But wait, can you recap for people and explain for people who maybe have not heard the original episode? What is pasta girls in your? I don't know. I don't know. We did conceive of it on this very show.
Starting point is 00:32:39 I thought it was, my memory is that it involved preparing a pasta dish each week and then talking about it. Because it's cute. You are a pasta A very A very renowned cook People are talking about your day Yes Yes
Starting point is 00:32:54 Oh do you think of that Yeah Yeah yeah Oh then Oh it worked That's actually good Because we were scared That if it was a review thing
Starting point is 00:33:04 Kind of like doughboys That we would destroy business Yeah we wouldn't want to do that That would be so awful Yeah You two are Are you reviewing recipes It's a little less
Starting point is 00:33:13 We're reviewing recipes Yeah Are you reviewing Or are you coming together like making a commentary on what food means culturally. Like it's a place of time to come together to talk about your day, right? Totally. Because it is, because food is a story.
Starting point is 00:33:31 You should do pasta girls. Yeah, I think it's a great idea. I guess we should. We really, well, yeah, we've got to do something. I'm going to say this. I know we got to do something. You two love, you too very much love food as far as people I know who are foodies. I know that that's not a cool title of the half.
Starting point is 00:33:46 I don't like that word. I know, I know. People go, you're a bit of a foodie, aren't you? I'm like, oh. Because y'all aren't foodies, but you love and have an enthusiasm for restaurants. That's true. Yeah. Where are you on that spectrum, Pat?
Starting point is 00:34:01 What's interesting is, yeah. What's interesting. That's the least interesting. But I moved to L.A. Like, I never really went to restaurants in New York. But, you know, when I moved to L.A., like, I had just started lifting. And I was pretty lean. And I wanted to gain some size.
Starting point is 00:34:18 And so I was going through a bulk. And then John and Claudia. But you were looking for mentorship, guidance, like someone who knows things. I don't know about this, this world of bulking. And so John and Claudia came on as my bulking coaches. And so we went to quite a few restaurants. And the results speak for themselves.
Starting point is 00:34:35 I mean, I'm pretty big. He's gigantic. But we, it was a big responsibility to be Pat's bulking coaches. I think we still are your bulking coaches. I made a reservation for a thing. for us today. And no matter where it all goes, like, you'll always, in a way, be my group. Like, I'll always call you the question.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Like, what do you do? What do you do? What are you doing? What are you doing as far as sets reps? Um, this will be so boring. It's like, I go to this gym that has, like, classes that are all focused on, like, so right now it's like, this whole week is three rep max testing. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Whereas, so you're lifting heavy. Kind of, yeah. He lives very heavy. 280. 270 by 3 for squad. 470. Oh my goodness. Never a 470 on any level.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Can anyone lift at? Yeah, that's nearly my... I want to say it. Wait, you could squat. You could be squat. You don't weigh 470? Oh, 470? No, I can't squat 470, and I never claim to.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Sorry, I just thought of a big number. I'm 280. That's more achievable as a deadlift, but even that's a lot of weight. Isn't that what Homer Simpson is? Isn't he 279? He's actually 260, I believe. No, he's two... No, I actually know this number.
Starting point is 00:35:46 236 and then he balks up to 300 in the episode, King Size Homer. So he can get the benefit stay at home. I was bigger than King Size Homer? Yes. And now you're older than him too. Oh, thanks. That's like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:35:59 That's such a thing on Instagram. Like, if Reba was made today, Cheyenne would be a born in 2011. I know. It's like, way. That and then like my favorite ones that like, I never won't watch them.
Starting point is 00:36:12 They're so jarring. They're so. What has happened? like where it's like an actress or an actor from if they were from a million different countries. Oh yeah. I love it. It's my favorite AI thing. You haven't seen this?
Starting point is 00:36:26 No, I've no. Oh, it's like if Elvis was from a million different countries. And it's always like he's always doing this space. Yeah. And they're all. Because it kind of is in tandem with another AI trope, which is like the cast of Full House then and now where it's like AI things of like. Oh, yeah. Full House or some old show.
Starting point is 00:36:46 and it's like the actress when they were that age and then they're like walking. And they're like looking at each other. If they're dead, they're like RIP. Yeah, and they're like meant to be emotional. Like look, like they're looking after their younger self. Like that's the messaging
Starting point is 00:37:00 behind it. Totally. They're kind of mentoring their little, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's crazy. Amelia watches a lot of fruit AI videos. Yeah, she got me in the fruit AI videos. No, for fun. No, Amelia, those are so evil. But haven't they gone away?
Starting point is 00:37:15 They didn't make them anymore? They started to get phased out. Yeah. Now it's like the Lupa, Lupa, do you know what I'm talking about? What's that? Oh, what's that? Ladies with, like, their lips
Starting point is 00:37:26 take up their whole face and they go, Lupa. Why is AI thinking of that? I know. Well, someone's feeding it, right? We don't like AI no matter what. Of course. None of us like AI, to be clear,
Starting point is 00:37:37 for our listeners that will yell at us just for talking about this. Yeah, no, we don't like it, but just the phone sometimes shows you Elvis from every country and you're like, I got to see the AI. It's like, well, what would he look like if he was from Sweden? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Yeah. And it's like, it's like, and it's always like, they really lean into kind of aesthetic stereotypes with clothing. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yes. Yeah. Do you do really like, I guess it's like, it's all AI. There is a part where it's like, how don't is Mozambique Elvis something I should be looking at?
Starting point is 00:38:06 Yeah. I mean, like, this is like, it feels a little weird. Like all AI, it's like, it's just so unnecessary. But then also everything on AI, it always like ends up being just one thing. Like the fruit video. is they used to be like all different scenarios and then it got to a place where every single one like every single one was like a woman fruit eating chips and the man fruit was like why can't you exercise and then like he breaks up with her and starts dating his trainer and then the woman gets
Starting point is 00:38:31 really hot and like comes back but that became every single one was just that story over and over again every dude's nightmare by the way it's uh that's your your ex stops eating chips and gets all buff that is that's we can't deal with that would suck that would suck that's a bi-prime product of hyper-optimization, right? It's like why every mid-sized SUV looks the exact same. It's the aesthetic convergence that, you know, when they're just seeing like what's the most optimized version of something, everything tends to get more samey. You see it happen in sports as well, Mitch.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Like, it's how everyone runs this very similar offense. Why didn't you know about sports, too? We're seeing quite a bit of that in sport. I lost it, my man. Mitch is a big spordo, is all I'm saying. I think I like it as much as everyone else on these couches. What are you into? Uh, well, let me.
Starting point is 00:39:17 That's something. NCAA professional track and field. Okay. And I'm seeing a lot of convergence. Yeah, he's very sporty. It's actually crazy how into truck and field he is. That's insane. Did you do track and field in college?
Starting point is 00:39:26 Not never. Well, I never was good at it, but I always, in high school, I always had the illusion. Like, if I just do this so much, I can get good at it. And I got, like, fine out of it. And then I ran for a college that, like, they had a bad enough team where I could run for them. What would you run? Just like the longer stuff is better. What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:39:40 Oh, wow. Do you have to go to those colleges? Well, the one college I went to, I went to. But like, what did you say colleges? Oh, roll the tape. Did I say colleges? I only went to one college. What you go to?
Starting point is 00:39:52 I went to a college called Loyola, but when I was on my, when I was visiting, I was, in Baltimore, though, there's like a million random ones. Yeah. And when I was visiting, I was like, could I walk on? And they were like, sure, it doesn't matter. Like, it was like such a, it was like not a real. Yeah. Some people were running really well. Would I walk on?
Starting point is 00:40:07 What does that mean? Like, I wasn't recruited, but if you walk on, it's like a term. Great question. Whoa. Do you have, okay, like, when you're saying longer distances, where you're, you're saying longer distances, Were you talking 1500 meters, 10,000 meters? What are we doing? If I was, I mean, I never, so then I was injured for most of college.
Starting point is 00:40:21 But if I had, like, trained well in college. He got shot in the head. When I tripped up a banana. Oh, flipping. So I don't know if you noticed when Claudia said that as, like, a joke, I kind of gasped because I totally that happened to me, and I said it was, like, really hard. And I couldn't believe she was, like, when that out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Yeah, sorry. But if I was able to train the 10K would have been my best event. Wow. Wow. But I, you know, I couldn't. I need to run, like, very high. How many miles of 10K? Six and a quarter about?
Starting point is 00:40:48 I used to row it on the ergometer. We sometimes had to do 20Ks. Yeah. And that sucked. On the erg, why? How long would that take on the ergometer? So long. It took so, so, long.
Starting point is 00:40:59 What a pointless activity. The ergometer is the rowing machine. Oh, oh. Mitch rode crew. I rode crew in college. I've said, I went to Ithaca and upstate New York. No way. I did it to lose, to get myself in shape.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Did it work? It did work. work. I did some of my first pull-ups of my life after I did this. Wow. I was doing, it was like one of those fruit. You pull yourself up onto the boat because you pull into the river? I wasn't falling out of the boat. I wasn't falling out of the boat in having to pull myself into the boat. I, I, like those fruit videos, Wags, I, I, uh, there was no one, there was no fruit. There was no person who left me, but I had never had a, I was like, I want to get,
Starting point is 00:41:40 I want to have confidence. And I was going to work out. Right. Right. So I started working out. and rowing the urgometer and then I could do a pull up. That was like a highlight. But you were on the rowing team? I was on the rowing team. Were any of the guys who did it gay? Oh, yes, of course. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:41:56 It's quite homergy. Hold on a second. Well, yeah, I mean, yes. Well, hold on. Why? Is that bad? No, no, no. I just mean, I just, I just mean,
Starting point is 00:42:03 rolling seems so gay to me. It seems like boarding school. Like, I don't know. Yeah. There is, I think that there might be some, well, there's also a lot of, because you said affirmative, dumb guys.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Do you do like? like, like, did you know people who were out on your team? Yeah, yeah. Were you pushed to them? I hope you were kind to them. I was the most, I was the kindest of all. It could have been easy, right?
Starting point is 00:42:26 You know, my good friend Levi, I would give him a ride down to practice, and he was a, he was a gay, he was a gay man. Is he still gay man? Yeah, yeah, he still is a gay man. Is he single? Is he single? You know what? I don't know if Levi, Levi, I don't know if, I haven't talked to Levi in forever, but I, but.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Hit us up with your single. Levi. Hey, Levi. I'm John early. Hey, Levi, your name is Pat. I'm 33. I love. I also participated in NCAA athletics, and I have always looked for someone who also did that.
Starting point is 00:42:54 When I'm not watching TV, I'm volunteering. I'm going to try to find Levi on it. Just text Levi right now. Just Instagram DMM and say, say, send one for Pat and two for John. He'll know what you mean. Oh, he sent a three. Okay. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Oh my God. Do you have a... Do you like, oh, wait, because you're talking to track and feel. It seems like you're more into the track side of things. Oh, yes. Okay. What's the feel like... It's so funny.
Starting point is 00:43:25 It's so funny. Is it that one where you're like... What's that crazy? I'm showing... I'm showing you pictures of Levi. Oh, my God. Why is there a photo like that? I'm happy if it's...
Starting point is 00:43:35 Literally, I'd never want it to get between us. Seriously. Like, if you ended up with him, I would be like, couldn't have happened to a better girl. He's handsome Can I see? We can't show it on camera We can't show it on camera We gotta blow it
Starting point is 00:43:48 By Levi But Levi Strauss That kind of picture Is he an actor? He lives in Los Angeles now I haven't seen them since he was He's got to be an actor But I will say in LA it is the kind of thing
Starting point is 00:43:58 Where it's like Sometimes I'll look up people Like I'll Google a friend For some reason Like not into business What is these huge noises What is going on? I think people are getting shot in the head out of there
Starting point is 00:44:08 Oh Mexico 1 Mexico 1 We're recording this contemporaneous With a World Cup match in which Mexico has just won. Congregulation to Mexico. Wigues and John knew that Mexico was playing in one. So everyone on this couch does know about sports.
Starting point is 00:44:24 I learned a lesson. Sam told you. I just looked up. Queer people have always played sport. It's like from the beginning of time. I mean, the Greek Olympics. Exactly. Think of the Greek Olympics.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Do you call it the gay? The wrestling was like oil. It was like. It was like. There is that fact people love to say We're like sometimes people like love to say certain facts I'm like but what's your point? They'll be like did you know in ancient times
Starting point is 00:44:50 Like Greek teachers would actually have sex with their students Gay sex so and what is your point And then someone took it like what That was like a fact that people were saying for like three years It was like I have to say this fact And I was like is it good or bad like what's going on Like and then but then someone like took it a step further They kind of said that first
Starting point is 00:45:11 But then they're like, but actually, you're like, but actually, that isn't true. And I was like, oh, really? They're like, it's a complete misconception. What actually happened was they would often not have anal sex. They would put their penises between the legs and just do that. And I'd be like, why, what is, what am I meant to take away from this? Like, what is your point, ma'am? Yeah, that's confusing.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Can I just quickly say that you guys turned pretty quick on Levi when you found out he might be an actor? No. Oh, no. No. No, sorry. It was more when they found. found out he was so busy with his denim business. All right, Claudia.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Sorry, everyone. I'm so tired. Like, I just can... But I do think in L.A., like, if you Google someone, like, a friend in L.A. who is not in the industry at all, you'll see, like, their LinkedIn will have, like, a headshot. Yeah. It's just... Everyone's going.
Starting point is 00:46:06 Yeah. So I don't have one. Except for me, I think. Okay, that was... Cool. I need new ones. according to my manager. Wait till you get back from Turkey.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Yes. You do not need new headshots. I'm sorry. Yeah. I just, I don't think headshots are real anymore. I don't think it's real. I kind of agree with you.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Just take us still from the last thing you were in. Yeah. Yeah. But I got Maddie's secret just based on my headshot. That's true. Exactly. I did not know Pat. And I was going through a lookbook of all different headshots.
Starting point is 00:46:35 Yes. And I saw Pat was like, yeah. And I made, I made that choice. I said to our shared manager, actually who never had introduced us, I said, do you think I should go with them?
Starting point is 00:46:45 And he was like, I think so. Yeah. You were going to do this one, though. Yeah. If I used to steal from the last thing I was in, it would be Maddie's secret. I would look quite crazy. Spoiler, spoiler.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Don't be a spoiler. I'm not spoiled. Can't spoil anything. Everything's fine. To get into things here. Yes, hi. Pat, I'm not so sure how much, I've had meals with you before,
Starting point is 00:47:09 but I don't know how much of a food you are. Yes. There's a lot of... Oh, we need to talk about... I know. There's something that is going on. Wait, what? What are I talking too much?
Starting point is 00:47:18 No. It's not a normal vibe of your episodes. Totally. This is great. Well, we don't normally have three guests. I know. But I'm enjoying. I'm along further away.
Starting point is 00:47:25 We're having fun. I hope... Yeah, what? I typically... It's very out of body for me when we do dope boys. Really? Whenever I walk around, like, what happened?
Starting point is 00:47:35 Yeah. Seriously, it's strange. I go into it. You know, you always... They're the most beloved episodes of that they're Just get the giggles and I have the time in my life. I feel I'm like, but what we realized was that, you know, Mitch, we recently shared, or maybe not so recently, but one time we all had Korean.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I don't know when he's talking about it. I thought you were saying, when we all had Korean barbecue. Yes, that's first meal. That's right. The first meal that's fun. Were you did? Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:48:06 We all had, yes. I got a cook. Why? A world famous spot that you will love. It was Parks. Oh, yeah, Parks, Anna, Parks, yeah, of course. It was delicious. I just had Dan Sung Sa recently, and I really liked Dan Song-Subs.
Starting point is 00:48:24 No? I never been. Sam would be, oh, yeah. It puts me in, like, a... It puts me in, like, a scarcity mentality for some reason. I can, like, grill that and that. I get too, like... And I have no concept of when I'm full with green and barbecue.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Because it's just like, it's... The tiny, everything's tiny. Well, here's the thing. Maddie's Secret has a lot of beautiful food in it as well. And I know that this was an important thing to you in the movie, correct? Yes. And you got headshots of all the food, didn't you? Yes.
Starting point is 00:48:53 And a lot of the food. We got books because of the fruit from the AI videos. We actually know. I, I, yes, there's, there, Maddie is a chef. She's, and she's, she's an aspiring chef. She kind of is a reluctant. food influencer. And we did, there's lots of food.
Starting point is 00:49:15 Claudia plays my rival chef. And? Friend. Young Maddie. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That is the scoop for this podcast. Wow.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Where we're debuting the scoop, the scoop. This is huge for us. We have a scoop, wags. Do Boy scoops also, yeah, works well. You could insert some sort of drop there. A scoop drop there. We can put something in there. Yeah, we can put a double-ed, drop king if you want to.
Starting point is 00:49:43 You know, something like that. That could be good, yeah. Yes. But the scoop is that Claudia not only plays Emily, my rival chef at Gourmeti, a kind of food content company. She plays young Maddie in the flashbacks. And that character is, how many years old? Twelve. Twelve.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Twelve. Yeah. Wow. So talk about prepubescent. What's some? Yeah, no, totally. Yeah. When do you think as the writer and the author, when do you think Maddie developed?
Starting point is 00:50:14 Well, she says it in the movie. If you paid attention, she says 12. I didn't pay attention to the film. But I think the message John was really sending is from the back, you can't really, I could be 12. No, literally. Were you rigged? I was in my wigged. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:50:30 So it was my first time seeing myself blonde, and I was sad to not have more fun. I was like, it doesn't look good. Would you ever be like that? I mean, really. I mean, part of me. like we're, we only live once, so you better be blonde once. If you went blonde, it would be huge. I know, it would be like, who is that?
Starting point is 00:50:46 It would be a cultural reset. It would be a cultural reset. I'm so inherently a brunette. Yeah. But growing up, I always liked, growing up, I always liked brunettes better. But, like, when I was watching TV shows, like, I always went to be a brunette. Sambole, like, anyone on party of five, just broody, brunette girls. Well, they were all brunettes.
Starting point is 00:51:04 That you had to be a brunette for a few on party of five. But I just, I'm going to bring it back to the, I'm going to bring it. Bring him back to the task at hand, which is that one thing, like, in the movie that I used to signify coolness for Claudia's character, who's, like, really intimidating and cool, is that she, we have to basically, we're competing for this job, okay, in the movie. And we're each, but we're assigned to, like, kind of do some sort of food presentation or whatever. And my character's like, I'm going to have them over and I'm going to cook for them and cook from the heart. You know, my character is very sweet and sincere. And I overhear what Claudia is doing for her presentation. And she's taking these people out to a Korean bar crawl.
Starting point is 00:51:37 And crawl. Yeah. And to all like these hole in the wall are like spots in Ktown. Yeah. So that brings us to what here. So that brings us to what Claudia chose for our episode today.
Starting point is 00:51:49 The synergy is out of control. Wow. Yes. It's crazy. And I can feel, I literally feel people unsubscribing as I'm doing that. That's not because of this episode. That was the most boring part of this episode so far.
Starting point is 00:52:01 That's just natural. They're all, the show's been on for 10 years. I could do 1.5 speed for that part. Yes. Oh, But involuntary, like it automatically shifts. We can talk about that.
Starting point is 00:52:11 We can possibly do that. Please, I'm not kidding. I hated that. Hey, buddy, are you tired of waking up hungover and worrying about what happened last night? Starting point is 00:57:10 How fun is that? Oh, interesting. There was wine? No, I think it's like the weird sommelier for chicken. Yeah, they're like, doing the best chicken feed. This chicken pair is amazing with this other time. Any of all wine guys? Any of all wine fans?
Starting point is 00:57:26 I'm in Macquarie. I'm in my car. I didn't want to talk about it. Can we take that out? We can take it out. I'm humiliated. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
Starting point is 00:57:36 I enjoy a glass of wine, but I'm also like, I don't know. I also don't care. Yeah, yeah. So you're just like, you're not part of pairing all that sort of that sort of that. No, no. Because my body is small enough for me to play a 12-year-old girl from behind. I can't take eating that much alcohol. If I have, like, three glasses, I'll die, essentially.
Starting point is 00:58:03 Like, if I have, like, one and a half glasses, it's, like, a great night. Wags is a wine mom. I can be something of a wine mom. And I'm a big boy, so I can throw him back. And then Mitch is a wall of man. So you can, like, really, like, take them in. Fuck. You can't, like, I'm just saying, like, you're like, you can really drink.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Yeah, I'm a wall of man. It's true. I can take down. I can drink a lot. But I don't like to do it anymore, really. Yeah, no, you're not a guy who, like, when we go out and we haven't, you know, we're maybe going a little nuts on the tour, you're not someone who's really tying one on. Who's tight?
Starting point is 00:58:38 Who makes ties one on the most on tour? Me or Wiggs? So the three of you all are traveling the country? Oh, my gosh. We are with Emma as well, who's not here. When are you going to fly? us out to one of these tour days. If y'all are available, you're
Starting point is 00:58:50 trying to be honest with you, you guys will never want to do that, ever. Ever. We might do. You would never want to do it. You have never asked. So you don't get to say that. You get to say that.
Starting point is 00:59:02 You don't get to say that to it. Would you like to come out to a live show sometime? No. Completely. And now you can say it. It would be a true nightmare. We sometimes get an Airbnb together and herb or
Starting point is 00:59:16 or we, sometimes we get hotels. A verbo, yeah. I love her. To me, wine mom is very like white wine.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Yeah. I was, no, because I will like, I will like, I, like a glass of whatever house chardonnay
Starting point is 00:59:31 they have. But, but I, so I'm not someone who's like into like fancy wine either, but I do like,
Starting point is 00:59:35 I was like, I don't know if I'm having fish or have white wine if I'm moving like a red meat on red wine.
Starting point is 00:59:40 I say by the end of the night you kind of are like a guy who's fallen into a barrel of wine. There are, times when I get absolutely shit face. But that's like a part of that is,
Starting point is 00:59:48 is fans buying a shot. What's that? Nothing. I said you're emotional problems. But so if you're out of the bar, though, like if you're out of the bar on one of these raucous tortu nights, are you going to the bar and ordering wine as your drink? Yeah, usually that's my go-to.
Starting point is 01:00:02 I mean, sometimes I'll get something. At the bar, are you getting white or red? Well, so here, I prefer red, but now I'm dealing with my old man thing I'm dealing with his gurd, acid reflux. And red wine is particularly bad for that. And can I say something as well? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:16 As some new sober in all of these spaces, a lot of people who drink red wine, a lot of bars, when they come up to you, their breath smells bad. Yeah. And they taste are weird. The teeth look gray and red on the edges. I remember trying to pick anyone up,
Starting point is 01:00:29 but that's good to know. I don't want it to want to have bad breath. I don't want me stinky. But yeah, I usually do white wine these days. Yeah. Gerd for the nerd. I apologize to say,
Starting point is 01:00:37 I didn't mean to say that. I'm sorry. Don't you deal with it too? I do deal with Gerd a little bit. What is Gerd? Gert is gastro It's what they call acid reflux For whatever reason there's an acro
Starting point is 01:00:48 Gastro isofagil reflux disorder That's it, disease It should be called Gurd Plus You get more people getting it If it was GERD Plus It was so it started in 2020 It was a pandemic pop-up in Korea town
Starting point is 01:01:03 And it is a tree of collaborators They had Really? This is how this came up So they started during They started during the pandemic Not exactly protecting our most Claudia, what is this? Not exactly flattening the curve.
Starting point is 01:01:17 They have brick and mortars in Koreatown and Melrose and Berkeley, the two neighborhoods in L.A., and then Berkeley, which is up north by the UC Berkeley. And they have a food truck at Smorgasbord, L.A. as well. Well, that's, of course, where John and I first saw it. Oh, at Smorgasbord. Because there was a really beautiful time where two weeks in a row we went to Smorgasburg, L.A. And we thought it was going to be a huge tradition, but we only did it twice. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:42 This is, can you describe this for people? It's like a hot, a boiling hot car park. Yeah. With no shade. Literally. And like extremely long lines for food. Yeah. But there is some exciting food.
Starting point is 01:01:56 There's also like a lot of very like virally kind of trendy Instagram food. Yes. And that does not appeal to me. Yeah. Did I buy? I'm not impressed by Dubai Chocolate. Do you like really? If you get it, like when they got it from that place and it was, I thought,
Starting point is 01:02:12 Oh, yeah, we did get some. I don't like the trends. But, yeah, and you got it. I thought it was really good. But now it's like it's sold everywhere and it's almost never good. It's just, it's so, you drink it, you eat it, you're immediately so thirsty. Yeah. And like, your throat hurts from how thirsty you are from having one bite of that.
Starting point is 01:02:29 It's so sweet. It's so sweet. I think the balance is often many do buy chocolates, but when the balance is right, fantastic. But the texture is on. Yeah. I mean, I would never, like, want to have it because it would have ruin my day. I remember it fondly how it tasted. It's not like how an astro Turk it is.
Starting point is 01:02:47 It's created from whole cloth. It was like, hey, do buy chocolate. This is a thing now. This is like a marketing initiative. It's very bizarre. It's just so funny when a new thing exists. Is there any tradition though? Like, do people look into it?
Starting point is 01:03:00 Is there any true history of it as like a kind of? I know. I think it was made out. We did a Dubai. The crispiness inside it is a special pastry. Right. Right. We did a Dubai.
Starting point is 01:03:12 chocolate Braskin Robbins episodeial style. And I don't remember if we had, I had some context there and have my iPad with me. You did do a little investigating. You did. We did. We had some, where it came from, it was actually not even invented by someone from Dubai. It was created in 2021. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Oh my God. These are lots of pandemics that have. So Shimmolier predates Dubai chocolate. And we never got it, by the way. We never got it at Smorgersburg, which is a very hard word to say. This was your maiden voyage with Chisholmobile. This was the maiden voyage. I saw it and I saw,
Starting point is 01:03:44 oh, that looks good. But we had already chosen what our savory was going to be that day. So here's the thing. And what was that? This was a big honkin order. That's private. There's a big honkin order we had. There's really good chicken with the pomegranate molasses.
Starting point is 01:03:59 Oh, you got a different chicken? The wraps? Yeah. Yeah, that was really, really good. That's fun. Have you guys been to Dunsmore? Of course we have. Okay, sorry.
Starting point is 01:04:08 We've so many different pairings, too. Has it's a chew? Do you think they've been together? I don't think so. I actually don't know. Maybe we have. I haven't been yet. You're always like walking around that area,
Starting point is 01:04:19 being like, where should we go? Yeah. I've kind of, I would love to have dinner with you guys again. I have, it has been a minute. Let's see. What happens? Yeah, my schedule is so influx. Yeah, I just think with everything that's going on with the movie,
Starting point is 01:04:32 it might be a while. Also, we did just have dinner together like 19 minutes ago. Actually, the podcast has been going for 58 minutes. That's what it just flies me. This is the Do Boys way. What I was shocked about, what must be so hard. Like, when we do our podcast, it's like the person comes in like, don't say anything, we have to save it because we're like, we don't have, we're so afraid of like running stuff.
Starting point is 01:04:53 But you all have like full dinners with the guests beforehand. We do, yeah. We should have, man, why isn't I should have saved some stuff probably. What are you talking about? I'm saying we haven't had anything beneficial to say the entire time we've been here. No, right? No, I'm just saying like, I would get like, I think it's impressive. Like you could have a full conversation and then.
Starting point is 01:05:09 Yeah. Well, no, we don't. We do a bad job. Yeah. a lot of the time. But I'm saying we didn't have anything interesting to say during dinner either. We're bad at the job. No, you're not.
Starting point is 01:05:17 Well, then explain them. You're a household name. No, no. The No, boys are a household name. Literally. Literally. In which house? There's no, there's no, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, it's a very few houses.
Starting point is 01:05:29 I was, I was working with the movie star today and she was like, I mentioned that I was doing Joe boys tonight. And she was like, oh, yes, I've heard the name. How about that? Say who, say who, say the person. person's name and we'll bleep it. I can't. Okay, you'll bleep.
Starting point is 01:05:44 We'll bleep it. We'll bleep it. She has no idea who the fuck we are. There's no way on earth. I don't know. I've met this movie star, so maybe it must be. Oh, my God. Um, just, you know, it happened a while ago.
Starting point is 01:05:57 Bumble. It was not Bumble. It was not any sort of romantic arrangement. Yeah. Yes, but we did. Yeah, at a meeting with this person. Well, that's what I'm going to say about her. Because you would never be unfaithful.
Starting point is 01:06:08 No, don't. I'm kidding. I bleep that. You have. Can you ask you a buzzcut question? Yes. Do people want to do this? Like, rub your head?
Starting point is 01:06:19 When I first got it. I got that too a lot. Wait, do you? Oh, I was going to ask you. Now I kind of miss it. Do you want to do it to him? No, I don't want to do it to you, but I'm just, because I can do it to me. But I did like kind of like that, like, looking back, I was like that period
Starting point is 01:06:30 was getting pet by a dog by a bunch of them. Well, yeah. It's like, it's my favorite kind of velvet. He's a man's buzzcut head. Well, also, you should be honest. You were at the dog park on all four. walking up to people. I used to have a high and tight.
Starting point is 01:06:46 I would get a zero fade sometimes. How about that? What number have we got here? Can I guess the fade number on that? I'm going to say that's a two. On the side. You're correct. And what is it on the top?
Starting point is 01:06:58 Three. Fuck, yes. Whoa. Wait, what is on top three, four? Two and three. Two and three. But that was a kind of conservative number I was doing for the play to keep it not looking too fresh. Yes.
Starting point is 01:07:10 So now that I'm out of the play, I don't, I guess maybe I'll do one, two. Were you doing it? Wow. Is this a self-administery? One-two is short. So maybe one-three. I think you go shorter on those sides. Oh, no, never mind.
Starting point is 01:07:21 I was doing three, four for the play. No, so two-three is men are one. I know. And I love the buzz cut. It's fresh. It's sexy. It says something. But you missed my longer hair.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Well, it's just, there were so few, like, truly blonde men. Oh. You did have, you did have beautiful locks as well. to have, like, to be a blonde man, like a naturally blonde man. That's fair. And think of young blonde boys who, like, need to see that. I know that representation, exactly. And, like, I know this isn't your intention, but think of how it feels to them to see you on screen with the buzz cut.
Starting point is 01:07:50 See you on stage or the buzz cut. Yeah, they're like, oh, so that's what I'm going to do. Oh, okay, cool. Hack it away. You're right. You're right. Yeah. But here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:07:58 I have, I mean, we'll find out, but it's like, I've never grown out my hair from a buzz before. So that's obviously terrifying. I know. Is there going to be a pure where I'm like, hi guys. I know. You should go to the person I'm going to who says that they know the right way to grow it out.
Starting point is 01:08:14 That being said, I went to the barber in New York because I was like, I just... I'm not comfortable here. So you will, that will happen. Because people think my hair would look good long, but when it gets long, it just gets misshapen and weird
Starting point is 01:08:28 because it's like very fine and callicky. It's flat. I'd love to see your hair long. It used to be long. It looked like to show bald. I need you should do it. I asked for, I just, I basically asked for a men's regular, which is the most embarrassing thing you can do at my, my barber. Well, I told you before my barber, rubbed my belly.
Starting point is 01:08:47 Speaking of rubbing. Remember I told you? Is this the guy who said you look like Tully Savalas? Oh, it's cool. Okay, you do not look like Tully Savalas. Well, hold on a second. Is that good or bad? He was a guy who, not Colombo.
Starting point is 01:08:57 He would play cojop, the old, like a bald detective. Isn't he related to Jennifer Aniston? Is he? I think so. Wow. There was a guy who, I had an oo-o. Uber driver and he was like, you look, and you're going to say you don't look like him, I agree.
Starting point is 01:09:11 But he was, and I'll show you right now. You don't look like him at all. No, I don't. I don't. You're right. I do not look like that man. We use that power to figure out if he was related to Jennifer Anderson. And then also a guy, I was in Uber and a guy was like, and a guy was like, you look like,
Starting point is 01:09:27 and hold on now. A guy was like, you look like Russell Crow. And I was like, no, I don't see that. But that's so kind. And then he was like, in this movie that he was in. And you can look like. And you can look this up. It's Russell Crowe in Unhinged.
Starting point is 01:09:39 I love that movie. And if you wouldn't mind putting Russell Crow up in Unhinged, and then you can see how much of an insulting connection. Yeah, we need to know about Aniston. Then we will look at, we will look at the Aniston Connection. Here's Russell Crow and Unhinged. This is an unbelievable movie. Not a very flattering comparison, I would say.
Starting point is 01:09:55 He can happen to anyone. But this does make more sense. I do look more like... You're closer to this guy in the sense of being a larger bearded guy, but like, I don't think you look... This is closer than glad. It's closer to... I think gladiator.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Do you know that his parents were film set caterers. Wow. And he would go to set with them and be like, one day, that'll be me. Wow. And how right he was.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Yeah. Yeah. Do you know what this movie's about? No. He gets road rage. Wait. It looks like falling. Basically, it's like what happens.
Starting point is 01:10:26 It's like, I forget. Falling down. I forget like. I forget like. A woman like cuts him off or something. thing and he goes so crazy and wants to stop following her all around the highways trying to like
Starting point is 01:10:39 I think that's great costing to be quite honest he was so scary who directed it? I kind of like that psycho. Telly Savalas. I like Russell Crow I can't help myself. I love Russell Crowe. I love him. I love him I love him yeah. I might go see moon struck this week. I've never seen moon struck I've never seen moon struck get ready
Starting point is 01:10:58 it's Slithage chair what's that? Where is it playing? Enjoy new Beverly. Oh cool you're gonna freak out It's amazing. It's perfect. I'm excited to see it. Pristine. Wonderful.
Starting point is 01:11:10 And can we, sorry, can we do the Jennifer Aniston connection? Godfather of Jennifer Aniston. The Godfather, so not blood. Wow. So kind of right, but no blood. That's sad. Because I was looking at those photos being like, they do look alike. They don't look alike at all.
Starting point is 01:11:28 But maybe they are blood and godfather. Yeah, sometimes you can be blood and godfather. Yeah, it could be an uncle or something. But I think they would say that. Should we just watch something? I am tired Don't stop saying that you're doing Like a dog
Starting point is 01:11:43 Like a dogmanor That's like The one about the lady Who stole the baby I know that's Oh Oh we should have It's very grim
Starting point is 01:11:50 It seems so It's very grim We're not gonna watch anything You stiko We're not gonna watch anything There's an hour left. Something that's fun to have on In the background
Starting point is 01:12:01 And that still could be food related And there can be crime in it but just not true crime. Oh, I have a question for all of you. Yes. You're all in a food. Oh, me too. But what are some of your favorite food movies before your baddie's secret?
Starting point is 01:12:16 Oh, I hate that. Oh, what the fuck? Why do you hate that? That's fun. Because, like, I'm never being like, ooh, this movie's about French fries. What the hell? Wait, do you know, actually, there is one movie about food that I did find quite enticing. I may be really angry.
Starting point is 01:12:35 I watched on a plane The 100 foot journey Oh, I don't know this. What is it? It's about a 100 foot sub. It's about I think it's about an Indian restaurant in like the English countryside
Starting point is 01:12:49 maybe in like the 70s, but I don't know if it is in the 70s but they just, the food is, what are you guys doing? I was looking for my Nicquette thing while you were talking. Oh my God. Just imagine.
Starting point is 01:13:01 I wonder where it went, but doesn't matter. I'm doing it too. Euro, what are you looking for? I like Nicorette. spray, but I'm totally fine. It's in the kitchen. We thought it was Mace. I was afraid of it.
Starting point is 01:13:09 Oh, have I not done it since I got in here? We gave it to an aspiring cop. That's okay. But apart from that food movies, I'm not, I would never, I'm like, oh, I don't want. I do want to hear about that other movie, though, but. The 100 foot journey. I'll look it up. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:28 EuroG dreams of sushi and other big food documentary movie. Oh, yeah, but that's a documentary. That's a completely different thing. I'll tell you a food movie that I saw in theaters. four times when it originally came out when I was like 14 years old. Cookies and cream. Cookies and cream too.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Thank you. It's dropped. Oh, thank you. Chocolat. Oh, yeah. And I thought it was, I literally was like telling my teachers like, have you guys seen chocolate? That was the best movie ever made.
Starting point is 01:13:55 It's not a bad movie. It's not. I just a little curious. I haven't seen it since then. Remind me what the premise of chocolate. The chocolate makes you cry. It makes you horny. No, it's just like sensual.
Starting point is 01:14:05 Is it magical? Yeah, it's like a magical. There's something magical. I think she's just... Oh, yeah, so Johnny Depp. Well, so first Juliette Bonoche, which is already a food name because it's so close to Juliet. Briose. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:20 Which brings us back to food staff. Okay, so Julia Bonoche opens a chocolate store in a conservative French town. Yeah. A very Catholic conservative town. And everyone's like, everyone's like... it makes them wild and their husband's like what are you doing
Starting point is 01:14:38 and they're like nothing and uh that's such a funny idea for a movie I know but it like it you know it kind of anyway
Starting point is 01:14:45 yeah it was like it was like yeah it was a kind of Oscar yeah it got nominated for an Oscar oh yeah
Starting point is 01:14:50 I have a chocolate story after this okay and then Johnny Depp and then Johnny Depp come into town and I guess they just have sex
Starting point is 01:14:59 I'm not sure yeah what's your chocolate so no you go for I'm taking a back seat. All right.
Starting point is 01:15:05 Okay. You go first. No, I don't have a chocolate story. You better. You better. Come in with a chocolate story. I actually have another one. Well, can Mitch have that one?
Starting point is 01:15:16 Can you just, can Mitch have that one? Can I have yours? Yeah. Sure. My chocolate story is that every, like, my mom never watched TV, but every time we went to Blockbuster, she would like, I'm going to rent a movie for me. And she would always rent a chocolate. Oh, I love a story.
Starting point is 01:15:31 But, like, every single time, I told you this. Yeah, I love it. I would always come home and, like, it would be like the chocolate credit that's playing. My mom would be, like, clearly had been sleeping for hours. And I'd make up, and she'd be, oh, I fell asleep during chocolate. And then she, like, wouldn't have another chance to watch her, so she would even turn it. And then, like, the next time you went to blockbuster, she would, like, wrench it again. And then, like, she would, like, oh, he could never get.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Oh, I must chocolate. For, like, years. For literally years of my childhood, it was like, the chocolate effect. It's so sweet. It's a sweet. We're talking about that. I told my parents that I had a crush on Juliet Benosh. A good crush to have.
Starting point is 01:16:11 That I wasn't getting. But really it was about the Friosh element. Yeah. A good crush to have. A chair. When I was young, a boy, I liked Cher. Really? You don't like her anymore? No, I like her.
Starting point is 01:16:23 She's too old now? No, I don't think she's too old. I think she looks great. Oh, God for a bit of woman age. Lock her up. Merrill Streep and Death becomes her. had a crush on. I had a few movie crushes.
Starting point is 01:16:37 The woman I said I had crushes on were like, you liked it because her head was twisted backwards. Sick. Yeah, it's weird. They are, they are, I guess they are. But I also had Suzanne Summers and, uh, and is that also a gay crush? Oh, pretty gay. Pretty gay.
Starting point is 01:16:53 Yeah. Well, she's like clearly attractive. So if you're taking a step at the dark, it's like, I know that a straight guy would want to hook up with Suzanne Summers. So like, I'm going with her. Three's company Suzanne Summers. Oh, yeah. So hot.
Starting point is 01:17:04 Yeah. Yeah, I hide across. And step by step. Oh, yeah. That was also true. That you don't like older. The way she parented those kids was. She was hooked up with Cody.
Starting point is 01:17:13 That's the secret. Really? Yeah, her and Cody work. That's wild. Is that a son? Cody was like the nephew. The guy who's like, what's up? Like he was like the kind of the.
Starting point is 01:17:21 Yeah. He like, how old? He was like, it was one of those things in those kind of seventh heaven like step by step time where we was like and this older kid lives there too. And so addressed in the pilot but then like, you know, it runs for eight years. But why does he live there? Like, who is this? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:35 We got six orders of the five-piece wings, and OG, which is original crispy, OMFG, which is the signature spicy dry rub, a galby, soycar, like honey butter, which is a sweet honey glaze, hot yang yum, which is a sweet and spicy chili, and then pulled on. Is he covering his face with his new?
Starting point is 01:17:51 Which is fermented abanero and Korean chili, all caps, very spicy. Now, Mitch, I'm something to be heat seeker. You've moved off your iPad. Can I just point that out that you've now moved to notes? Yeah, well, I'm using, I got it. I love that. I think it's better.
Starting point is 01:18:03 I think it's better. I think it's professional. And here's the twist about everything Nick just read. We don't remember a single one. What if I had, what if I, like, had, what if I, like, had been secretly taking meticulous notes under the table? And I had really, like, discerning opinions on each item. Well, then we do know one. All I really know is, I'm very full.
Starting point is 01:18:23 I'm very full. I'm very full. And I will say part of the issue with us remembering, you know, specifics from this meal was that nothing was labeled. Which was absolutely. That's true. That's tough, especially when we bought like 19 different kinds of things. And they're all pretty similar in a way where it's like there's no way I could possibly guess. You have eight different sauces.
Starting point is 01:18:43 You got a label. I want to give the breakdown of the food. I texted John and Claudia, you weren't on this text. That's okay. I don't mind. I'm happy to pick some out. You weren't, yeah, Duags was not on there. We can't grandfathering into every text thread.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Totally. And I get that. But I think next time we should bring Nick into the text thread. Oh, yeah, he's allowed to come. I'm Pat too. No, fine. I don't, what are you, what the hell? That's not true.
Starting point is 01:19:08 You like that you're like that you're doing this on, on your own. You gotta give you a little extra power. I think you like that. The fuck are you talking about? Oh, he's lauding it over you. Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, of course. Just because we're friends.
Starting point is 01:19:19 I know, you, you all are friends. You have like a real, I, I know. But I want to cultivate our relationship. Yeah, we're friends. Yeah. We're going to change that. Okay. You don't seem excited by that at all.
Starting point is 01:19:29 We're going to change that. I'm so excited to change that. I texted Claudia and I said, this is what we're thinking. She actually sent me a thing of this is what I think for food. And I said, this is what we were working out. Oh, yeah, I wrote it this morning. She wrote this morning. I was like, this is what we were working out.
Starting point is 01:19:49 This is what we were working out because it was a big chunk of food. And then she said, and then she looked at my list and she said, and we're going to also get the things I said, too. Right. I said, yes, I'm not trying to exclude your things here. It seemed like you were. And I was not trying to, I told you that I didn't like cheese, corn cheese, which I, is. You didn't like it in theory? Or had you had you had it before?
Starting point is 01:20:11 I had had corn cheese before. Is it a Korean thing? Yes. I've had it before. I thought this one was great. Yeah. But I don't want to start saying opinions too early. Don't early.
Starting point is 01:20:22 Maddie's secret. Can I ask one very quick question? Yes. Because it's a huge part of my podcasting journey. Why does this happen only to me? You're like these are... No, no, no. Look at me.
Starting point is 01:20:35 No, but look, this is mid-calf. These are appropriate length pants. Oh, your pants come out high. When I cross my legs, they become booty shorts. And it looks crazy because I don't... But that is not on the same level. Have you thought about longer socks, like a mid-calf sock? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Is that what you're worried about? Are there... I'm just worried about what's going on with, like, physics. Physics. It's a metaphys. I was wearing. Look, I'm a shorts guy, in general, but I, but I, but I, if I was wearing pants right now with my sock height.
Starting point is 01:21:05 Yeah. Because we've both got kind of like the quarter height socks. Totally. But I just would never expect. I is wearing booty shorts, by the way. And what's the symbol on your socks? It's a Masonic lodge symbol? This is, that was, well, that looks like the Lulu Lemon logo.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Yeah. And this is, I think, what's the brand is this? Yeah, it was in a rush. No, of course. Of course. I think this is a stance, but it does, it does look like the zodiacs. Whoa. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:27 Yeah. It's scary. And that's how we knew. Ah! I'm going to ask that you blur my body from here down. And I'm going to ask that you blur. I'm going to ask that you blur that. Can we do some blurring?
Starting point is 01:21:42 You have no. You have sweat that doesn't smell bad. You're doing great. You're looking at me while you say that my sweat does smell. I was talking to Pat. Pat has the sweat that doesn't smell bad. But that's my only thing I have. You have plenty more.
Starting point is 01:21:55 That's my one. That is the one. I had to go to dermatologist and get extra strong deodorant. so that because I'm sweating too much in high school. You should get almost hydrogen peroxide in it, I think, or maybe salt asylac acid. I think with hydrogen peroxia you have to mix it with so much water. The boys, boys were always afraid of pittin. No one likes to be pitting.
Starting point is 01:22:15 I'm still self-conscious about pittin. Yeah. I'm like, I'm always checking. Oh, God, I used to rule my life. As an adult man, though, do you care anymore? That shirt would be a nightmare for it. A game? Am I pitton?
Starting point is 01:22:24 No, you're not pitt. I've seen you pit as an adult, and I think nothing up, but I think it's, I think they're, I think, I think, The truth is we don't think anything about other people. Yeah. But that's what people always say, but I'm like, I'm always thinking about other people. I'm always thinking they're weird. No one's thinking about anyone else. I'm thinking about them.
Starting point is 01:22:40 I'm constantly thinking about everyone else and how they're weird. I guess it's not true. That is true. To some extent, it is true. But I couldn't have wanted an more inappropriate outfit for being on television. I mean, on television. Well, just with this, because with this couch, it's like you have to sit up straight. I know.
Starting point is 01:22:57 Something crazy happens. Something crazy happens midsectionally. No, I've noticed that on every Joe Boy's episode. I'm lounged and having a good time. And then I watch and go, I know. I'm not figured out in every fucking episode. I'm like this right. I'm lying down.
Starting point is 01:23:13 My posture ends up being so unflattering and they always like do the wrong thing. We should tilt the couches. Can you blur all of that? You should tilt them forward. I just want this unblurred. Just this. I know. I think.
Starting point is 01:23:26 If we put hard, if we. It's like an iris around each of our faces. Mike will do that. He'll do that for us. Michael do that. He'll do it right now for a second. It's like one checkbox for Mike. It's fine.
Starting point is 01:23:38 And we've had harnesses and tilt the couch forward. I'd be like that would be helpful. And then can you blur out the Lulu because I have a deal with Rory? Rory. Rory. An Athanasia brand. I have a deal with them so I can't be. Who are those socks, wags?
Starting point is 01:23:53 Stance. That was a... Stance. But yeah, I think that stance is the brand. And that's a high. high-end running athletic sock. Is it really? Well, it's just like they sell one.
Starting point is 01:24:02 I used to work running retail. Wait, really? For years. Years. I got to be honest. I'm in the store. People are coming in. I'm being like, can you stand him on foot?
Starting point is 01:24:09 Can you walk that way? Wait, was this? Let me go work by magic. Did I get my run. It was super runner shop in New York. Oh, wow. And then like, and then Brooklyn running company in Brooklyn, like, multiple different points of my life.
Starting point is 01:24:24 I ran a half marathon this year with my dad and my brother. and we would like I was Yeah Don't look it up or anything His brother For For But I was
Starting point is 01:24:38 His brother won a medal I don't even try him Yeah I know My brother My brother I did We saw my brother at the finish line He had a silver medal
Starting point is 01:24:47 And what happened It was like I turned out I got second of my age group He wasn't even like Trent running for time But anyway Your dad
Starting point is 01:24:51 You and your dad You and I ran with my dad The whole time It was great My dad's My dad's a 70 years young. I think he did beat me. No, no, really?
Starting point is 01:25:00 Wow. Yeah, no, we were just running inside by side. Your dad beat you? That's awful, Nick. You should have. Don't help. Okay, it's fine because it's us, but don't tell other people that. Because, like, we're cool, but, like, I wouldn't be saying that other people.
Starting point is 01:25:13 Because this town is harsh. My dad didn't beat me. We finished together. Yeah. But he out catch you. Okay, all right. Hold on. You and your dad finished together?
Starting point is 01:25:21 All right. Let's all back it up. it was a lovely thing we did but anyway I was gonna say the like I was running a lot and I'm not someone who runs all the time like a lot of what I do
Starting point is 01:25:34 what's going on what's the thumbs up? I gave them a thumbs up because I was thinking about you guys finishing together in the same way and I knock this off I don't think of I don't like to finish completion like I don't like the way we talk about coming in this country
Starting point is 01:25:47 I agree with that coming is actually by comparison just the word coming is kind of cleaner to me just like I finished it's so strange Or it's like to completion, like just those kinds of. Yeah. What we need the euphemisms for? We're ever having to shoot in a fat load.
Starting point is 01:26:01 Ew. Whatever happened to that. I agree with them. I don't know. Sometimes people on, I know this is like not for a necessary of this audience, but like there's just a specific part of like grinder culture where people will be like they'll be like bragging in their like name or they're like who wants my eight day load.
Starting point is 01:26:17 It's like I haven't. Can I say that on this? Yeah. You said that load one second ago. Yeah. But it's like, why are you trying to be like, I have this amazing thing to offer one lucky customer. Yeah. My eight-day load.
Starting point is 01:26:31 Yeah. It will be gone once it's gone. Do you know what I mean? I don't care how many days your load is. Yeah. What do you think you're getting? That's not caviar. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:39 It's not wine. I guess you just, the idea is more of it. You've been incubating this load for a while. And so it's like I'm not. Yeah. It's not that hard of work. You don't even. They're acting they've brought, they've done something.
Starting point is 01:26:51 And they've been cooking something up. Yeah. Can we look up, like, at what point do you get diminishing returns in, like, terms of, like, load storage? But whatever you do, don't press the image tab. Like, I wonder, because I feel like, I feel like, yeah, maybe once you get, is eight days, like, the threshold where. Yeah, four-day load I get.
Starting point is 01:27:09 Eight-day load is crazy. I mean, I'm using Ada sort of a stand-in. It's just like people are kind of just talking about the span. Not every second, but, like, every few months will come across. Yeah, you gave them an impossible thing to Google. I don't know. We have the science to determine the diminishing returns of a load. As like someone's like, they're defending their thesis.
Starting point is 01:27:29 Like a load stops getting bigger after nine and a half days. I just feel like there's a finite amount of space in there. No, we don't care about how to lost longer in bed. That's the wrong thing. Relax. Okay, not masturbating for weak myths versus facts. Not masturbating. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:45 You also told your employees to Google a thing about loads, by the way, just so you remember. I know. I didn't mean to get us on this track. What to do for C-M. retention so that's more of a guy that's more of a how to. I thought the French fries were good, but the rice was even better. I didn't really like that fried rice. So we should
Starting point is 01:28:00 talk about, I think we'd wait to get to the sides, but talking about the chicken, which is the whole point of going to a place like Chimilead. If you're going to the chicken sommelier, the birds got a fresh load, too, instead of an eight-day Well, I think the day is a fresh- is going to be small. Yeah, it's just, modest. But I don't need to, whatever.
Starting point is 01:28:17 And I'm sorry, but potentially if it's stored up, Yeah. It might, it's not just the quantity. Yeah. This all feels like manosphere, manisphere shit. It's a delivery method. The semen retention stuff, this is all like Jordan Peterson's manisphere shit.
Starting point is 01:28:34 People get into the science. Is this dope boys podcast.com? Let's go do some, yeah, we'll do some off pod research. We'll get to the bottom of this. Yeah. But I feel, I feel like we're more interested in the science of like how long, because there's a finite amount of space in there. Right.
Starting point is 01:28:49 Like, when do you want to, when does, do we need to stop retaining? Or when do we stop making gains? I don't think it's a space issue, though. Because you think it just kind of cycles out naturally? They can get gigantic. Right. Your balls?
Starting point is 01:29:03 Huge. Yeah. Huge. Yeah, ball maxing is a new thing that people like to do now. This is, it's true. Literally. Of, of, they, like, they inject saline into their testicles. But that's not giving you more space.
Starting point is 01:29:16 I know. But there's also, like, whole talks to make your whole. There's things to make your whole look better, which, I'm like, look it better? It's a little lipstick on a pig, don't you think? Oh, like, it's never going to look that good. Are you trying to create? It's a hole.
Starting point is 01:29:30 When they're putting the Botox in there, like, are they trying to make it look puckered? What are they, what are they aiming? I don't know. Maybe less puckers. Maybe like less puckered. They're slackening it. They're smoothing it out. Yeah, they're smoothing it out.
Starting point is 01:29:43 There we go. We got, we got in. Well, hold off for a few days. Okay. This is not scientific. Well, of course. Of course, Roe is like in the mix. They're always trying to like have a take on things like this.
Starting point is 01:29:55 They're everywhere. Okay, so 12, after the first four days, semen volume increases by 12% each day you don't ejaculate. But that doesn't, that can, does not continue at infinitive. I think it would take a pretty long time to fill up and be like, no more room in the end. Yeah. You saw the end of scary movie. You know what happens. I didn't see the end of scary movie, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:16 Yeah, you know, you know exactly what happens. You're right. Wait, the first one? The first one. sealing. Yeah, it is a title wave. The guy's body sinks in. There was nothing like that movie when it came out.
Starting point is 01:30:26 I know. There was nothing like it. I know. Do you all see the new one? No. I saw it. I had fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:33 But it's, you know, part of it is just nostalgia. Phantom threat is a good food movie to me, even though that there is. Yeah, but it's food poisoning. It is food poisoning, but still. I, do poison movies count as food movies? It's an interesting conversation. No, I mean, yeah. I see both.
Starting point is 01:30:49 I see both sides. I didn't like Phantom Thread. No. I thought it was boring. I, I, I, I, oh my God, it's one of my favorite movies of the, of the 2000s. Maybe if I watched it now. It's my favorite movie about Thread. I like Spider-Man.
Starting point is 01:31:07 Oh, hell yeah. Talk about it. What I'm a dude. Wait, do you know what me I always think is really funny? Okay. Do you ever see the one where there, it's like from, it's like a daily from the first Spider-Man movie or when the Spider-Man movie is? Oh, the girl. And the extra is like, it's so amazing.
Starting point is 01:31:22 And they're like, just Kirsten Dunn's point. It's so good. And everyone's just supposed to be like this. But there's one extra who's like. She's like on the DVD cover of like X-Men. Yeah, it's really. It's incredible. I would you see that.
Starting point is 01:31:36 My, yes. Well, no. Nothing. I'm just trying to help the hosts. You're doing great. You're doing great. You're helping by being, by being conversational and amusing. Good.
Starting point is 01:31:47 Which is you always are. So we can do. I had a crush on Rachel Weiss too. Oh, yeah. Yeah, Rachel Weiss. And I did like Pamela Anderson, even though. That almost is too boring. Why are you saying this?
Starting point is 01:32:00 Yeah, why? Why are you saying this? You're returning to a subject from many minutes ago. Yes. I don't remember. I think you said I had gay crushes and I was trying to say that there was some. It's an old, it's definitely an old topic. Rachel Weiss.
Starting point is 01:32:14 That's gay. That's very, like. That's very gay. That's very gay. Yeah, that's gay. Really? Oh, no, no. What?
Starting point is 01:32:21 Oh, my God. The episode's going to sound horrible now, Claudia? No, it sounds like. That's fixable. Sorry. It's fixable. Sorry. Korean fried chicken.
Starting point is 01:32:30 Yes, that's right. I was just going to say my go-to food movie I always cite is Big Night. I feel like that's so. Oh, I've never seen it. I've never seen it. No one said chef. It's a light, especially, hey, that could be a Patreon episode for pasta girls. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Oh, yeah. And another one. It's very Italian food-centric. Another. And it's just the audio of the movie because of watching it. another pastor girl's movie. Yeah. That is one of my favorite food movies that's quite recent.
Starting point is 01:32:53 Cookies and cream three. No, six. Which I saw in 4D. Cookies right down on you? No, we saw this together. So actual cookies come down on you in theater. It's really additive. This is called cookies 3D?
Starting point is 01:33:10 No, it's called cookies and cream six. And you can see it in 4D. And when you say it in 4D, cookies fall on you? Yeah. If you get the 4D tickets. Yeah, they're expensive, though. 4DX. And only some theaters have it.
Starting point is 01:33:24 This is what I'm talking about about Dill Boys Me Out of Body. I'm like, no, but my favorite food movie that we saw recently is Yumi and Tuscany. Oh, I'm so jealous. I didn't see it. It's really good. It's this exact movie. It's this exact movie where you say, do you see Ume and Tuscanee and Umi and Tuscanee? And someone says, no, did you?
Starting point is 01:33:43 And you say, yeah, it was cute. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really fun. Yeah. It's fantastic. And it's in conversation with Maddie's Secret. It's extremely in conversation with Maddie's secret. I have to see it.
Starting point is 01:33:53 There's another Juliet. I'm sorry. I was going to say this joke. It's nothing like your play because it's a dialogue. Wow. Oh, my God. So thank you for giving me this space to get that out. I liked it.
Starting point is 01:34:05 Juliet Benosh has another, I just remember it was another recent food movie that I enjoyed. Wait, was that menu plus here? I can't remember the title of it. Taste of things? Taste of things. A taste of things. A plus year was a different one. Or maybe that was the French title.
Starting point is 01:34:16 I think we definitely said. each other the trailer for that movie. Yes, but we never saw it. We never saw it. I saw it. Is it good? Is it good? Is it great? 10.30? A.m.? It's so sad. He doesn't, he's an early screening. Oh, I, no, I thought you said it was so sad. No, the movie, no, the movie got some sadness. That's what I mean. But it's, it's like a very human sort of story and a lot of amazing food. But it's a period piece, so you're seeing like what amazing food was in the 19th century. Wow. That is cool. How about Ratatoui? Oh, Radatooie. Never saw it. Never saw it. Never saw it.
Starting point is 01:34:46 It's fake, though. The food is fake in the movie. Because it's animated? Because none of it's real. It's not real. It's fake. It's all fake. The whole entire thing is fake.
Starting point is 01:34:58 Wait, I got to say something here. Uh-oh. Whoa. I forgot. He's crying. Oh, I know what it is. I had a delicious pasta dinner in your house, which is in your home is also in Maddie's secret. Did I do?
Starting point is 01:35:11 I really thought you were going to say I had a crush on Janet Jackson or something. Yeah. Oh, no, I did. Oh, yeah. too. What about Janet Jackson? He thought that Mitch was returning to the crush conversation again. Oh, okay. I did have a crushing Janet Jackson as well, but I did
Starting point is 01:35:26 have a delicious meal in your home, which is also when it worked so well in the movie. Wow. Which pasta did you have at John's house? Vongolet. You made it. That's right. There I go again. What is that dish? Clams. Clams. Okay. It was fantastic. Spaghetti. In Australia, we might make it with pippies. That's the first time I made Wongley. Yeah, what the fuck
Starting point is 01:35:46 I don't know if, I mean, I think it is a clam, but we called them pippies. Like a razor clam? Me and my friends collected them from the beach. Wow. It was my first bungley I ever made. So you make them with clams here, but in Australia you might make them with pippies, which are what Australians call, clams. Wow, it's interesting that.
Starting point is 01:36:03 That's so work. I wish everyone would ride in to tell us if pippies and clams are the same. I guess we could do it. There was some shark attacks in Australia. Claudia and I talked about it. And did you see the new Amazon shark movie that's coming out? You're a shark movie enthusiast. Me and Pat saw...
Starting point is 01:36:18 Open water. It wasn't called open water. It was called open water. Deep water. It was called... In some cultures, they call it open water. So either is acceptable depending where you are. We saw deep water in theaters.
Starting point is 01:36:31 Yes, and we also saw the other one. Yeah. About the like... The other one was there was a big flood. Thrash? Thrash maybe. There was a huge flood, but then... The Netflix one.
Starting point is 01:36:42 Yes. And then as part of the flood... The sharks come into the town. No, like a butcher's truck gets like pierced and all the blood. No. A truck from the slaughterhouse. No. So there is blood in the water.
Starting point is 01:36:55 You never want that. And then there's also like a super giant great white shark that's pregnant. And that sets them up for a sequel. Because of course I was disappointed when it started because I was like, oh great, it's bull sharks. She was very disappointed. Sorry every single person who makes a shark movie getting emotion. It just has to be great white sharks. Don't mess around with it.
Starting point is 01:37:20 Oh, yeah. No other shark is as good. It is the most scary one. Yes, I agree with it. You think it could be good like Hammerhead, like movie? No. Look at how big a hammerhead's mouth is. And Hammerheads are so 90s.
Starting point is 01:37:32 It's got a little flat mouth. Sure. It could bite people, but it's not going to like eat them. Got it. But don't you think Hammerheads were a huge part of the conversation in the 90s and we never hear about them anymore? Literally forgot they existed. Well, they've come back recently with the viral video of two giggling teens who are parasailing,
Starting point is 01:37:51 and then they're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, and there's hammerheads in the water. Really? That's horrifying. Are they dangerous to run into? Yeah, it's not great. Yeah. Like, they definitely have bitten and eaten. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:02 It killed people, but I don't think they could eat one completely. But Great Light Sharks, if you're going to make a movie, don't make a mako shark mixed with this. don't make it a Greenland shark. Great White Shark. And it is a lot of viewers, a lot of more casual viewers wouldn't notice, but like when we were watching deep water or open water, depending on where you grew up.
Starting point is 01:38:25 Like, um, Claudia was like, it's a make you shark mixed with something else. It's a made up species. I was like, that sucks. There's a lot. There's a new one that takes place in the Amazon. It takes place in a cave and I think a great white shark
Starting point is 01:38:38 isn't like the cave. Well, okay, I am interested. But once you say cave, I'm less scared. I know. You know, once it's a Liva. You haven't seen this trailer yet. It's pretty scary.
Starting point is 01:38:47 All right. What's it called? I don't know. I have no idea. I enjoyed crawl, which we watched for the Patreon. I like crawl. And then I didn't continue for some reason. Oh, it's good.
Starting point is 01:38:57 Not a gator or not a, it is a gator. Crook. It's a crock. Wait, is it an American movie? It's American. Yeah. Okay, it would be a data. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:39:06 But it's, but it's a shark adjacent. What about that big gator on the golf course in Florida? Terrifying. It's unbelievable. It's just a huge one. It looks like a dinosaur. It's real. And it's just like it always walks across this golf course and there's always videos of it.
Starting point is 01:39:22 And it is just like, okay, so there's a dinosaur. I don't think so often with the most gigantic versions of these animals, they're so big, they're slow. They're so big, they're slow. So more dangerous is a juvenile great white shark. I'm sorry, I'm so sleepy. And yet you're really activated. Yeah. What is the sauce and the, this clam?
Starting point is 01:39:42 this clams pasta dish. It's kind of the juice, just sort of like the juices from the pan. So you're also putting garlic, chili. Okay, yes. Lemon, lots of chopped up parsley and just pasta water. And just like sort of the clam liquor is a word that they might use for that. So you've steamed. And white wine.
Starting point is 01:40:03 Yes. So it's all very, and butter. It was fantastic. It was fantastic. Before, but I'd love to have. It's amazing. It's so good. It was fantastic.
Starting point is 01:40:12 Claudia knocked out of the part. It was very good. I will say that I thought the wings were like really well fried. I thought there was a lot of granularity in terms of the differences between the sauces. Like a lot of them were like, well, this is just the original crispy and the, you know, not the sweet honey glaze, but one of the other. No, it was like the soy garlic and the sweet and spicy chili were like so like similar. Similar. Yeah. That it was like, why do we need eight different sauces if they're all going to be, you know.
Starting point is 01:40:39 They weren't distinct. I know there's too many sauces as well because there's sauce. seems to be saying, look how many sauces we've got, rather than you need this sauce. It's a firm paternalistic hand to use this sauce. Yes. But I did, I will say that bulldog was hot as fuck. And I'm a bit of a heat seeker. I like spicy foods, but I definitely was like, okay, I'm feeling the burn here.
Starting point is 01:41:01 I told you that. I thought I was, I ate that first. It was my first bite was the bulldog. Yes. He was, we were worried. He was shooting out of his ears. You sweat when you eat spicy? I, I, I, yeah, I will, I will sweat.
Starting point is 01:41:14 I have a bite of a wing. It's like someone has poured a bucket of water on me. Oh, my God. Odorous. Odilous. This was, I thought I was having a heart attack. I was scared. Yeah, it was, it was, it was hot.
Starting point is 01:41:27 And then, and then everyone who's tried, they did, everyone agreed that it was, it was very spicy. It was spicy. It was spicy, but I thought these wings were good, but I was more impressed by the thighs. I thought them thighs were, and I'm a thigh guy. Like, I just, like, that's my favorite, too. Me too. That's my favorite. If I'm talking about the portions of a chicken, that's what I'm looking for.
Starting point is 01:41:47 That's the number one. I mean, the oyster is the true number one. But that actually is so close to the thigh. Right. The oyster? There's a small little part of the, not the clams, not adjacent, not the shellfish. Got it. It's just like this little, there's two in the back of the chicken that are about this big coins of the most luscious meat you've ever.
Starting point is 01:42:10 It's yummy as fuck. They're so good. Sometimes a chicken neck, it'll be really what. Oh, and to be honest, a chicken tail. The Parsons nose. Oh, wow. Absolutely. The person's nose is so Australian.
Starting point is 01:42:22 I love to rip off a crispy chicken tail after I've roasted it, and that's my favorite. Wow. I fuck with chicken feet. You ever have chicken feet? You know what? I haven't. We had some at this Chinese restaurant, Ping Ping Pang, a dim sum place in Vegas, and it was, like, I I'll have chicken feed on occasion, but these are like, these are fucking great.
Starting point is 01:42:44 Were they gelatinous or crispy? Yeah, they're a little gelatinous, but they've got to, they had a good texture through it. Todd, gelatinous is tough for me. It's adjustment texture. Whereas crispy, I will eat much more of a chicken wing bone than people. Yes, I actually was thinking about you yesterday when I had chicken alone. I'm just saying I had a lot of chicken last night and then a lot of chicken today. Wow.
Starting point is 01:43:07 I left over chicken for lunch and then I had this chicken for dinner. Yeah. But I thought of you because I was, I thought of the way you eat the chicken wings so confidently. You bite into the tinier crispy bones. Yeah. And you just chew it. Okay. And move on with your day.
Starting point is 01:43:28 I, um, do you remember, this is so unnecessary to say, but do you remember Casey from early top shop? No. Which one's that? She was like bad ass. She like, no, she got to the end of like maybe season three and she was like, so good and like just like a strong woman as like a phone down seriously i'm talking about kacy room top chef girl what are you doing there was a there was a guy from quincy and top top top chef this year i was going to try to look up who it was was it was it um i think i because
Starting point is 01:43:56 is this season over now yes no spoilers don't say the winner or the loser i won't see i won't say it and it got spoiled from me on instagram that's fucked up laurence louis laurence oh he's great i like him rabato but we can say nothing more on the topic. We can say nothing more. But someone, someone does flip out at a judging. And it's quite a thing to say. Okay. Well, that's enough to get me. Yeah. Yeah. Wait, but you're continuing the Casey threat. Anyways, Casey is like my favorite. And she came back for All-Stars. And she was like, she should have won her season. It was so exciting to see her back. Sure. With the same Genesei Quas, she always had several years before. They get to one challenge.
Starting point is 01:44:33 And she decides because she always took risks. She was like, I'm going to, I've never made chickens feet before. I want to show off my nurturing skills to the judges. I want to show them I could like pick up on how to like butcher properly chicken feet. And unfortunately they were like the judge's table that said unfortunately, Casey, your technique was good. But what you brought us is inedible. And for that reason, you have to go home. You have to put your knives.
Starting point is 01:44:55 And I was like Casey like sometimes play it safe. You know. Yeah. Inedible why. She just like, I don't know. She didn't know how to do it. Unfortunately, it's fucking disgusting. I know.
Starting point is 01:45:06 They were like kind of complimentary. But be like, of course this can't be eaten safely. So you need to leave the competition. Oh my God. No one wants to eat a raw chicken for it. Oh, God. I did see an influencer having like sashimi chicken in Japan and then they got really bad food pork. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:45:23 My sister got food poisoning from a place called Shrimp burrito. You're my parents' house. Wow. Damn it. That sucks. Wow. Yeah. But I just want to say they were good.
Starting point is 01:45:35 I just want to be very clear. Chimilar. The chicken wings, I think, very. I really enjoyed it. Me too, especially the dry rub. I think the wings were great, and I thought the thighs were even better. I really like the chicken. And the chicken burger is not a sort of thing I would typically get.
Starting point is 01:45:52 Like, I do like a chicken sandwich, but like in this context, I'd rather just get the bone-in chicken. You had two portions of the chicken burger. Why are you screaming? You're like, what chicken burger? Well, because I thought I would just classify that as a chicken sandwich. They call the chicken burger there. I saw your look. I knew what you.
Starting point is 01:46:08 you were thinking to, we could, yes. It's a deep water. I hear chicken burger, I think, ground meat. I agree with you. Yes, me too. Yes, me too. It's a deep water, open water sort of scenario. This is the verbiage they use on the menu.
Starting point is 01:46:21 Yes. It's interesting. If I ordered a chicken burger and that came, I would have had to call and say, this isn't what I ordered. There's been a mistake. I think that if you're going to this, I know this is not the point of the review,
Starting point is 01:46:35 but if you're going to this place, you're probably not ordering every single chicken wing, every single sauce. You know what I mean? 100% This is like our criticism is like about like the how like the distinctions were not clear enough or whatever
Starting point is 01:46:49 it's like but you I feel like normally if you're going you get two kinds and you get very two very different kinds. Yeah and you know. But don't be too prescriptive. People get whatever they want, however much they want, whatever their body is telling them.
Starting point is 01:46:58 And people listening might also be ordering it to review for a podcast. That is true. In L.A. They might be doing that. In L.A. specifically, that could happen. That 100% could happen. I think it was their signature spicy dry rub, which was not nearly as spicy as the bulldog, the bulldak that was the OMFG, which I'm not particularly thrilled about that name, but it was quite tasty.
Starting point is 01:47:20 It was good. And you did say when you got it, you went, OMFT when you. Despite myself, I did. It was like involuntary. The fries, like, I thought the fries were yummy, rice cakes were fine. Pat, you got. You're fine. Pat, I had to send a text.
Starting point is 01:47:39 To someone. I was expecting you after this anyway. The fried rice, I, like, I was decently spicy. Wait, you skipped the, you mentioned the rice cakes, but I do want Claudia to review it. Oh, yeah, no, I want to hear you're talking about the rice cakes, and then the shrimp toast is like kind of all the fried various, you know, the accoutrements we get. Oh, the shrimp toast.
Starting point is 01:47:59 Shrimp toast was heavenly. I love it. That's something to write home about. Did you have that? I had, why did you think I wouldn't have one? Because there was one, there was one leftover. So someone here... I didn't have one.
Starting point is 01:48:08 It was past. Because I don't generally like... He doesn't generally like shrink. I've been able to do... He doesn't like seafood, really. The sister got food poisoning for shrimp burying. Yeah, it's affected my family. It's affected a lot in my life.
Starting point is 01:48:20 That would affect you if your sibling got food poisoning? You think that would... Clearly, it's never happened to you. Isn't a good sign, Mitch, just based on your experience podcasting when a guest is yawning? No. Claudia is tired. She was shooting. I had to go off a phone.
Starting point is 01:48:36 4.45. Oh, my goodness. That's early than me. Yesterday. Yesterday I got up at 7. But yesterday I got up, yeah, it's cumulative. So I'm really sorry. You don't need to apologize.
Starting point is 01:48:47 I just thought you, I thought you were, that you were bored and I felt bad. I'm not bored. I'm completely fascinated by everything everyone's saying. Thank you for being staying up so late. It's going good. It's going good. I'm in heaven. Me too.
Starting point is 01:49:03 I never want this to do it. I never want this to end. It was so good. A shrimp toast was fantastic. By the way, it's like, if you're worried about it being too shrimpy, it was like eating French toast. Oh, it was like sweet. I'm also not crazy about French toast. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:49:20 Okay. Sorry, I brought it up. So I'm more used to, like, the Vietnamese style of French, of, I almost said French toast, of shrimp toast, which is just like more like, you know, you're getting a little portion of baguette. and you're seeing a little bit more of the actual shrimp on it, but it's still like kind of ground. It's mashed up. Yawning is spreading the body up. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:49:44 Do you know yawning doesn't have to do if you're bored or tired? What does it have to do with? Your body is suddenly like, no. It's like your body suddenly like feels it doesn't have enough like oxygen in that moment. So it's like an intake of oxygen. Wow. But then when you see someone else, you're on your body kind of like remembers.
Starting point is 01:49:57 Like, oh, I should just do that just in case. Yeah. Because if they're not getting oxygen. I, yeah, you're okay. Yeah. There happens to Mitch. Mitch is doing it. It's spreading.
Starting point is 01:50:05 That was a good yawn, actually. And they were spreading the shrimp paste on the toast before they fried it to make an amazing miniature. The exact sort of amount of shrimp toast that you want, I would say. Yeah, because this motherfucker was like fully bred it. When I put in the order to you, you're like, like, you were like in the shrimp. You tried to get rid of the shrimp toast. I wasn't trying to get rid of the shrimp toast, but you were like, they're very much known for their shrimp toast. And I said, yes, I was going to add.
Starting point is 01:50:30 I was going to add it to the order. And we did add it to the order. A lot of people. are a versed a shrimp dose. They used to have a strip toast at... We knocked out of the park with that order. We fucking killed it with that order for us. It was hard for me to do. It wasn't easy. You did a hard day. Everyone did great.
Starting point is 01:50:44 I just like, you know, ate what was ordered, so I did not participate in this process. You did not participate. You all did a great job. I thought it was extremely comprehensive. I was just going to say in strip toast, it's a thing that people see on menus. I'm talking from like a Western palette where there's sometimes like, oh, that sounds weird or I don't know about that.
Starting point is 01:51:00 It's always a winner. It's fucking great. Every Vietnamese restaurant I've had shrimp toast from. I always loved it. And what about every Chinese restaurant? There are also shrimp toast is in some really good Chinese restaurants, too. Yeah, there was no Kohl-Slaw, by the way. A sesame seed coating? Where was the
Starting point is 01:51:16 Kohl-Slaw? I shouldn't even told you. It wasn't available to me. We couldn't get the Kohl-Law. Luckily, I had a lunchtime of Kohl's-Law. Wow. But we did among the colder... You need Kohl-Sla every day? Why do you need Kohl-Law?
Starting point is 01:51:30 Kohl-a-D-L-A. Do you like a more mayonnaise-y or or more like vinegar-y, coleslaw. You know I like something right down the... Me too. I love when the mayonnaise
Starting point is 01:51:40 is a little like diluted from the vinegar. Yeah. That's the best version of it. I agree. You do want that creamy cake. Like, when it is... You're talking to a cream guy,
Starting point is 01:51:50 I'm guessing, right off the bat. Like, my, I'm used to the cream style. Where are you from? I'm from here. Oh, I'm never left. But I also, like, I do like one with a nice amount of acid as well.
Starting point is 01:52:00 So I think probably land in the hybrid zone. You can smoke. I don't, I just don't, I get really sad when it's just kind of like, I guess, in a sort of KFC way of like pure, creamy sweetness. Yes. Yeah, the KFC one, I'm not happy with. And it's like, there's nothing refreshing. This offers no relief from the salty crunch of the chicken.
Starting point is 01:52:20 Yes. And I want, I need acid, which is tough because, well, we can't get into it. But Pat doesn't like hot lemon. I don't like hot lemon. I know. Literally, like, he, like, if there's. Wait, what? I don't like hot lemon.
Starting point is 01:52:34 I can improve almost any piece of fried chicken with a squeeze of lemon. Not to mention it. This is kind of crazy. And where it comes from, where it comes from with the not liking hot lemon, it's like, it's kind of like not liking lemon on savory things. Like I like lemonade and I like like a lemon ice, Italian ice,
Starting point is 01:52:52 but I don't like a lemon dessert. Pack as what? You're sitting on a couch with a man who also doesn't like hot lemon. Are you serious? I'm getting up. I'm aware. I'm like Claudia. That is so powerful.
Starting point is 01:53:04 Wags knows this. I know. I'm aware of this, yeah. My mom was cooking lemon chicken when I was younger, and I threw up smelling it. Really? And it forever has, it's changed. I don't like hot lemon.
Starting point is 01:53:15 Well, it's hard not liking hot lemon because most people like hot lemons. And I'm always squeezing. It's always like a let me squeeze for everyone. Let me squeeze for everyone. Yeah, I'm always all for it. For you, is it as gross as it is? It's not like, no, it's not like, it's just like a. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:30 Lemon chicken is the big thing for me. Almost everything else. Wow. So by lemon chicken, you mean the dish where it's like, do you mean like the Chinese dish lemon chicken? What do you mean by that? Like Italian dish lemon chicken? Yeah, Italian lemon chicken. Like a leon.
Starting point is 01:53:43 Like a peccata? Like a picture without cake. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I guess a cream, like a very lemon heavy sauce in hot chicken. It sounds fantastic. I know.
Starting point is 01:53:53 It sounds so good. You're really missing out, Ms. Thing. Look, I had eaten it. And then things changed for me eventually. That was the issue. Yeah. That was the issue.
Starting point is 01:54:03 I still, I would still eat it. And I'm sure I would be fine. We should make him that lime butter. New York Times. Now here's the funny thing, lime I love. Well,
Starting point is 01:54:11 it's interesting because like my thing with hot lemon, it, oh, what? No reaction. Here's the funny thing. No, no, this is,
Starting point is 01:54:17 anyway, but, um. This is in response to it. This is the reaction. Yeah, no, so how is there no reaction when I'm beginning
Starting point is 01:54:23 is a reaction? You're cutting me off there's no reaction. I'm trying to react. So like, I don't understand how that makes sense. If I'm trying to react you're cutting me off from reacting.
Starting point is 01:54:30 Totally. Because to say that there's no reaction. Are you a lime fan? The hot lemon reaction. It's connected to Tostito's hints of lime. Wow. I wish this wasn't limely. Like, this is so annoying.
Starting point is 01:54:43 This could be a fine chip. I don't like Tostito's Hines of Lime. And lemon on chicken, it's that same feeling. I'm going to make a guess that, and I've never had these Tostitos, but sometimes an artificial lime flavor, it tends to go a little dish detergent. Yes. They're completely funny. Very sciencey.
Starting point is 01:55:01 I don't like artificial lime. I've never had a good version. It ruined Anthony Davis's chips. Oh, yes. I agree, Wikes. I agree. Oh, don't get me talking about chips. We'll be here all night.
Starting point is 01:55:14 We should talk, though, about the cheese porn and the pickled radish. But quickly, just like one word on the rice cakes. What do you think? Oh, I like them, but you know what? We ate them a little late, so they'd cooled down a lot. Yeah, maybe we were full. And I love the texture, but I was very. I wanted them to be a little softer.
Starting point is 01:55:31 They were a little too crispy. Yeah, they were a little firm. If I was ordering from this place again, I'd just go shrimp toast. Yeah. I use shrimp toast and probably fried rice. Fried rice, though. Should we talk about the fried rice? I personally loved the fried rice.
Starting point is 01:55:43 It was very good. Talk about the fun presentation. I mean, it came in a ramen cup. It did. And you literally had to peel it back. You peeled back. How did they, literally. How did they do?
Starting point is 01:55:57 How did they do that? I know the answer. Do you want to tell you? What? There's a little piece of tape. I saw it. Oh, yeah. There was actually kind of a big.
Starting point is 01:56:05 And I suppose there's no Santa either. But anyway. But that is quite a bit of character tape. To be taping these ramen tops on. I like it. It's quite a bit of care to tape. No, that is. That's such you.
Starting point is 01:56:18 There's a lot of care in this entire meal besides labeling it. Yeah, they certainly did labels. Yeah. You got to give Claudia credit for showmanship in terms of presenting that, because you're like, I bet you think ramen's in here, and then you whipped it back, and inside was the fried rice. I think we've given her enough credit for...
Starting point is 01:56:35 He says, OMFG. We've given her plenty of credit tonight. She picked out the place. Yes, but I mean, for this particular... She's yawning through the episode. She doesn't like to be here. The strip toast was good. The cheese corn, like, it's...
Starting point is 01:56:50 Controversial. I thought the cheese corn was really good. Sometimes it could be too sweet. Sometimes the cheese isn't cheesy enough, but I thought it was cheesy enough. And I think if it hadn't been delivered, I think it would have been texturally more. Sublime.
Starting point is 01:57:05 So it would have been actually my favorite thing. Let me just say it was more than cheesy. It's a big block of, it was so, it was the most cheesy corn cheese. Because it was delivered. That's what I'm saying. Like you're saying the same thing in a way. No, but, but.
Starting point is 01:57:19 There was very little corn in the cheese corn, right? I would say it was like 30. And for me, a good way because I like, that it was just cheese. Yeah. What's the call again? Cheese corn. Which is the first thing you're saying? But he's saying he liked that it was cheese forward.
Starting point is 01:57:34 Oh. I did. I thought he wanted him work on. No, I was happy that there wasn't as much corn. Did you like it? Yeah, I mean, I thought it was, I thought it was fine. It was a fine executioner of it. It's just not a side I need.
Starting point is 01:57:48 Like, I just feel like I don't need additional. Well, well, well. Well, come be the side I need. Yeah. Like you date. The No Boy that's harder to pick on doesn't like it as much. It doesn't be the man I need. What's that long?
Starting point is 01:58:01 Come be the man I need. Come here, I got something. I want it. That should be like a jingle. You should sell that as a jingle. It's like KFC. I'm going to do it. Olivia Dane's not getting a cent.
Starting point is 01:58:14 I think claim it for yourself, make that a segment on pasta girls. Oh, that I need. And then you have a different side each other. Yes. Oh, yes. There's always a hard thing with pasta. Yeah, I know, because we're always just going to think. It's just arugula.
Starting point is 01:58:29 Yeah. But the pickled radish is more what I'm looking for in terms of some sort of contrast. That's all that happiness I'm sweating. I liked it. I liked it, a little bite. Wait, what? The pickled radish. Oh, I like the pickled radish.
Starting point is 01:58:42 You know, I didn't need the jalapinos floating around in there because everything else was spicy enough that I, that I spiced to go around. Right. Why, so do you have a childhood crush? Oh, my. I was mostly like, like, I was, I didn't, I know, I know, I know a lot about this person, so I'm interested in, yeah. I was more, like, like, in terms of, I was more, like, had crushes on, like, girls at my school. Wow. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:59:06 But I will also say, I will say that, like, if I, if there was, if there was, like, a character, if that's right, or like an, like an actor, I'd say. Character, sure. Well, no, I was just thinking, I can't remember the actress's name, but Trini, the yellow power range. Okay. Yeah, she was quite foxy. Because, you know, pink was Amy Jo Johnson. And I think the Yellow Ranger, unfortunately, sadly, has passed away. Damn it.
Starting point is 01:59:30 Oh, no. Is that true? I know the red rain. No, the Green Ranger has. And when she passed away, her robes turned red and white. And she went to Nick's house. And she was quite diminutive. He was little noted diminutive Ranger Trini.
Starting point is 01:59:46 Oh, I sorry. Passed away. How did she? That's so sad. Well, we not talk about how she passed. Yes. Rest in peace to the Yellow Ranger. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:59:56 But I don't know, but I don't have like an immediate like, oh, yeah, it was that part of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A good choice. When I had to do this exercise for Lapkus and Gabris's podcast back in the day, what I cobbled together was, I can't remember what else was. But I also remember Hannah Storm from inside the NBA. Or no, it wasn't inside the NBA, it was NBA, NBA Showtime on NBC. I agree. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:19 Good choice. But like I. How about Rossini? What's that? How about Rucini? Rusini? You mean now? Yeah, yeah. Contemporary?
Starting point is 02:00:26 And John's got to crush on Grisini. Is that like a little breadstick? Gristini? Yeah, you were so into Gristini. You've got it bad. I think Grisini is something, but I'm so sleepy. Sounds like something. We're almost, we're about 45, 50 minutes away from finishing.
Starting point is 02:00:47 We should get to our... But you don't skip the sauces. I just... We don't have to... No, I want to hear that. I want to hear if anyone has any thoughts on sauces, but we should get to her for you. I really love one of the sauces.
Starting point is 02:00:55 Say a sauce and then we will. I know which sauce it was. Can I, want me to say it? Yes. John, can I say the sauce you loved? Yeah. Say the sauce you loved.
Starting point is 02:01:05 Give me a sauce. Rose. Yeah. Mala. Mala Roseae. To the fine folks at Chimilea, I absolutely loved that sauce. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:18 And I loved the homemade ranch. It was great ranch. How would you describe the Mala Rose? I've already forgotten. Well, it was, you've forgotten. It's a little bit, I can, it's like a pink, it's like a pink tomato we saw.
Starting point is 02:01:33 It's like a, like a, like a sort of, it has some, it has some, no. No. It was red. It's, it's, it's like a creamy mariner. Tomatoy? It's a, it's a little bit. It is. I said it had a funk to it.
Starting point is 02:01:44 If anything, a little. There was funk. Get a pop of that thing. But wait, so it was a rosary. But it wasn't tomatoe, you think? I didn't find it very tomatoly per se. It is tomatoey, I swear to God. It's tomatoe.
Starting point is 02:02:02 I found it kind of like a brown vinegaree. Yeah, it was a tautness to it. It was funky, and it was fantastic. It was a fantastic sauce, swigues. I agree that, I mean, I was happy with the sauces. Again, just had a hard time to tell them between like the chimmy and the yang yum sauce.
Starting point is 02:02:27 Again, they weren't labeled. No labels. But I did think the ranch in particular, I will agree, was a stand-up. The ranch, and I knew that was going to happen and I said, order two ranches. Claudia did say order two ranches. We got two ranches.
Starting point is 02:02:39 The honey mustard, whatever. I mean, like, there was some that were just fine. You're a honey mustard lover. I am, but, you know, I showed up. I didn't eat a ton at the pre-recording family meal. Right. I kind of wish to having bites of things and I wasn't really knowing
Starting point is 02:02:52 because again, this labeling thing that we keep naturally. But then I wasn't doing sauces because oftentimes with that kind of chicken like there's so much involved and like honey mustard even in a vacuum
Starting point is 02:03:04 even if you were dipping something completely flavorless into honey mustard there's so many variants of honey mustard that it's like you never necessarily know you're going to get to see it. That's fair. And so I would like
Starting point is 02:03:15 And you saw that and you thought I actually didn't see it but there was none of the chicken in there I was like, oh, I want to dip this in something. Because there was so much going on with the chicken. You didn't even really need the ranch, to be honest with you. Well, you didn't even need the sauce that I loved. Because, as you guys are all saying, I'm just going to rip you whatever.
Starting point is 02:03:32 Yeah. There was so much going on with the batter for each. There was a lot going on. It scared me. Yeah, they were drenched. They were battered and drenched so often. If something's already drenched, I don't need to put it in another liquid. There doesn't need to be a re-drenching.
Starting point is 02:03:48 How much can we? douse this chicken, Nick. I rented this with barbecue, too. Not K-B-B-Q, but like, you know, like an American barbecue, or it's like, it's like, this thing's already flavored. You got to put dry rub on this sum bitch. I got to put this molasses-based sauce on it as well. Yeah. Barbecue sauce, I find
Starting point is 02:04:04 generally so overpowering. Too sweet. But I love a vinegory barbecue sauce. I love a vinegar barbecue sauce. You seem a little too mad at this barbecue place. Everything's fine. It's just hypothetical barb-no, no, I'm not mad about it. I'm just saying, like, it's what I'm related to. It's like, you got this, this batter that's really seasoned or you've got like a soy garlic glaze that's already on it,
Starting point is 02:04:22 why am I also going to dip it in like a blue cheese? And that takes me to why I don't like chicken parmijana. What do you call it? Wait, what the hell you don't like chicken parm? No. Because, hello, you've got a crispy chicken. You've gone to all these effort of breading and frying a beautiful chicken cutlet. It could be a schnitzel.
Starting point is 02:04:46 It could be a milanese. It is weird. You use the texture. He's making a beautiful crispy chicken. You don't like chicken palm design either. This is, I feel like that. But what else are you? And then you get, and you smother it in maranara sauce and mozzarella, which to me is almost the least interesting cheese.
Starting point is 02:05:04 Wow. It's hat on a hat. I don't think that you guys deserve pasta girls anymore. Do you fuck with a Japanese curry, like a chicken cutlet that you, and you've got like a brown curry? I like that. But that's like, it's not drenching it with that. But that's a lot of flavor going on. It's just cheese.
Starting point is 02:05:20 It's not about flavor. It's about the texture of the bread. The crispiness of the chicken being what about a really crispy? Mood. Yeah, moot. But sometimes when you just have a shuntit, it is like so dry that it's almost scary
Starting point is 02:05:32 in its own way. I know, but that's why you do have to eat it with other things. What about a very crispy chicken parmesan? Does that still not do it for you? No. But it sounds like that. Is it in the room with us right now?
Starting point is 02:05:44 Yeah, let me see it. I've had some crispy. Get my back here. I'm too, I'm too, I'm too tired to fight back. What the fuck is going to? It's after 10.30. It's crazy.
Starting point is 02:05:55 That's crazy. Oh, my God. I have an audition at 1045. Let's get to our folk scores. For her kissing cream seven. For cookies and cream seven, you're going to play this movie. Hi, I'm Beck Bennett. I thought I was Beck Bennett.
Starting point is 02:06:14 No, no, no. I'm Kyle Mooney. Sorry about that. Exactly. No, all good. All good. Thanks, buddy. Yeah.

Starting point is 02:07:45 So, like, we'll start with our guests because this is what we do on the Doe Boys podcast. We'll give us your closing argument on this. chain and then end way giving it a score from zero to five forks. John Early seated to my right. We just ask you guys just not to yawn anymore for the rest of the episode if that's cool. But again, is that biological response to or is it survival? It's just
Starting point is 02:08:07 I saw you turning the oxygen dial down before he came into this room. There is no oxygen dial at hang on. Of course I'm your name. We don't have an oxygen dial. That's a thermostat. Every room this building has an oxygen dial that you can turn up or down depending on how you want the podcast to go. We do
Starting point is 02:08:23 have the buttons that close under the desk that close the door. The Matt Laudeau? The Matt Lauder? We do have those buttons. We don't use them. We don't use them. We don't use them.
Starting point is 02:08:32 But we have the power to do so. Yes. I would, there was a button under a desk. I had a pot-time job I had at Sydney Harbor National Park where I was a receptionist and there was a button. And I, no one ever told me what it was. And I was like, brim, me, get pressing it. And then a swap tape arrived. Oh my God.
Starting point is 02:08:49 It was a silent alarm. It was a silent alarm. I guess that's what I would guess I would guess. I would guess I would. But I was, I. You were just pushing the random button Without knowing what it was? It was just right.
Starting point is 02:09:00 I was like, Yeah, that is so funny. John, your fork score for... Out of five for chimilee. Five being the best. You're to five forks. And you can give a little breakdown of what you thought.
Starting point is 02:09:14 Yeah. Well, I would say my experience on doughboys is typically been like truly fast food. Yeah. True. And we haven't really acknowledged yet the fact that this is only in three locations.
Starting point is 02:09:27 in California. But we're all going to start somewhere. That's also true. And so I hope this is an inspiration to the crew at Chameleillier. I'm John Early, and this was Doe Boys episode 242. Sadly, this is like episode 600.
Starting point is 02:09:42 Really? Yeah. That's crazy. Okay, so... I do feel like it's interesting because it's like, if I'm comparing it to some of the meals we've had, I want to go way high.
Starting point is 02:09:56 Yeah. So I'm like, almost like recontact four. Four forks. Wow. Very good score. A very good score. Not a five forker though.
Starting point is 02:10:05 It's out of the Platinum Play Club. It could be in the Golden Play Club. Oh. Okay. Claudia, your thoughts, your fork score. I'm going to also give it four if I'm going to be completely honest because I was thrilled. You know, I was, I loved it. I was, like, you know, there was such variety.
Starting point is 02:10:22 It was really exciting. What's these? Oh, that's what I was like. Yeah. trying so much stuff and it was everything I wanted but why not five because I wouldn't say
Starting point is 02:10:34 like it was like the ultimate balance yes you're not like because I don't take to get that fifth fork and that's something that's just been baked into me from childhood which is you need a green to feel like you've got to but did we just miss something
Starting point is 02:10:49 the coleslaw the coleslaw was sold out so okay but was there something else we could have gotten that we didn't order I think there was There was more green stuff that we did not. There were salads and stuff like that. Oh, yeah, they were salad. Okay, interesting.
Starting point is 02:11:02 So that's not really fair. Yeah. No, I agree. You know, just like that tiny, five forks is going to be very rare. Maybe I give it to KFC. Do we give it to KFC? We maybe did give it to KFC. Well, KFC deserves it.
Starting point is 02:11:17 Yeah. Next question. I think it's probably not fair because I, like, didn't eat so much of it. Right. What that was going on over there? Well, that's personal actually. That's a really personal information. That actually might now be completely moot.
Starting point is 02:11:31 Really? No. It doesn't matter. My point is I give it about three forks. About three forks. I think like, three forks. I think also like this isn't like, I just wasn't, like, it's not my favorite kind of meal.
Starting point is 02:11:47 So it's like, it was just like. Do we ruin your night somehow? No, we could have gotten me out of here. It was very rich for me. Okay. No, but I'm saying, do we ruin your night in another way? No. It seems like, yes.
Starting point is 02:11:57 No, don't worry. No, don't worry. Okay. I'm a little worried. It's very, like, rescheduley. The subscriber, like, overflow to seek treatment is going to make it all worth it. Totally. Like, I'll buy the guy a car. My dough boy is money.
Starting point is 02:12:13 But, yeah, I think it was, like, I just was, like, feeling like it was very rich for me. Sure. I think that's that kind of food, and it's just not my taste. So it's, like, it's not fair. Wow. But it's still ultimately. coming to my head to give it is three forks. Three forks, that's fair.
Starting point is 02:12:29 I'm a harsh. He's being honest, and it's also his first doughboys. This is your first. I like it. I like your stance here. We need to have you back solo. No offense to everyone else. We want everyone else back too as well,
Starting point is 02:12:39 but we want to have you on your own solo episode. To me, three out of five isn't like a low score. No, it's a solid score. Right in the middle of the bell curve. It's decent. It's decent. Yeah. What's your favorite lift?
Starting point is 02:12:51 My favorite lift? Yeah. Depends on the day. Okay. Like a compound lift or any lift? Any lift. Probably like barbedo bench. It's just like a fun one.
Starting point is 02:13:01 It's a classic for a reason. That's classic. I love like hip thrusts. Oh yeah, me too. I get self-conscious doing hip thrusts but I do, like I do feel powerful. Why do you get self-conscious? I don't, well, because it's kind of looks like you're having sex. It means like you're trying to make your butt look good.
Starting point is 02:13:18 So it's like my. I don't mean, no, I don't mean it like that. It's honestly not that at all. It's like is a vaguely sexual. Yeah. And if someone thinks you're gay, take it as a compliment. That's what I say. I like calf phrases.
Starting point is 02:13:30 I like working on my cats. Okay, yeah. That's dense muscle. That's hard to build. Like, look, if we're talking a classic list, like, I'm kind of a sucker for a barbell back squat. Now, here's the thing. Squads are tough, but, like, when I'm begging them out, I'm like, here we go. I don't think I've lifted away in, like, six years.
Starting point is 02:13:45 It just always feels a year. I always am fearful. I will, like, die in a squat. Do we have a waist is? Excuse me? Like, humans? Do we have oysters? Oh my God.
Starting point is 02:13:55 We might. Like where the thigh, I sure we do. We meet the back. Oh my God. We should do a horror movie called rotisserie. Oh, yeah. Really good.
Starting point is 02:14:07 You know what I mean. Yeah. Where you play like a murderer. And I cough. No, no. There's just a rotisserie with people. Oh, oh, my God. That is a horrifying image.
Starting point is 02:14:17 So instead of humans and tafeedy. Yeah. I like it. Pat? I have to send a text. I'm sorry. That's fine. Okay.
Starting point is 02:14:24 That's fine. If you come back on the podcast, if you haven't out, we can get you out of here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In the future. So we're, we're sorry. No, I didn't plan properly. No, we should have, we should have, we should warn you that this is a five-hour experience. I didn't know.
Starting point is 02:14:35 That was the thing. I didn't know the experience. Everyone's ready for this to be over. We all, we're all, we're all, we're having so much fun. Okay, okay, okay. And headgum has to close and I have an audition. The 10-205. But now I feel like I'm going to be able to be able to the audience is.
Starting point is 02:14:49 It's like, while we were having so much fun. No. No, everyone loves you. We all love you. I think everyone's really enjoyed your perspective and your personality. Oh, yeah. And my laugh. It wasn't the best, I love your laugh.
Starting point is 02:15:02 I'm happy you're here. We want you to come back. Yeah. We still, we do have two more segments. We'll be quick with it, my promise. I think I have to leave. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 02:15:10 You can leave. You should. You should. No, it's exciting. Well, at the very least I have to pee. Oh, that's fine. And then I'll come right back. Okay.
Starting point is 02:15:17 I'm going to get my four score. Okay. Well, okay, great. Well, well, Pat is gone. And also if you just leave, that's fine. Take and leave. Feel free to leave. Oh, he's nicorette.
Starting point is 02:15:27 Oh, God. Let's do the nicorette while he's gone. I think Pat's crazy. For three forks, I think Pat's out of his mind. Oh, he doesn't know. He doesn't know. I know. We can never have him back on the podcast.
Starting point is 02:15:44 No, no, you've got to have him back. We can't. I'm going to go four forks. It wasn't the best Korean fried shing I've ever had. but I thought it was very good and I thought that fried rice was great. Like I do agree with you that there could have been more balance to it. It was when I think in hindsight it was a very heavy meal.
Starting point is 02:16:02 And that's pretty much what I say about all fried chicken, to be honest. It's like it's such an intense thing. Obviously, I love it. Yes. But you're always like, whoa. You're up there with this guy who absolutely loves fried chicken. I'm wondering what you're, well, you'll rank this bad boy. Did just hindsight maybe think we could do a segment?
Starting point is 02:16:20 Amelia, if you want to know, the Heinz site, and we're, like, trying to remember. We have sauces early on. We're trying to remember condiments. Later on, we're trying to remember what those sauces were. Can we honest with you? Yeah. That sucks.
Starting point is 02:16:31 Maybe people are too tired. We should end the fucking episode. For me, like, I do love fried chicken. I thought this was well-executed fried chicken. Yeah, too many sauces, but whatever. That was our, oh, okay, you're saying this in general. No, but I mean, I think this concept probably could simplify, but also they're thriving.
Starting point is 02:16:48 I want to agree with you about something. I just thought about it some more. A thigh's always better than a wing when it comes to a fried thing because the surface area of a wing is so small so it's so much battered to chicken. Yeah. The ratio is off.
Starting point is 02:17:01 So a thigh is perfect. Especially if you got that nice, like, juicy quality. Like, it's not a dry guy. And I would say that these wings could have been a little juicier. They could have been a little juicier, but they had enough juice for me. Okay, everyone's turning them. I was just, I was like overall very happy with this place. It was a great kind of place I like to indulge.
Starting point is 02:17:19 I like to use to colorically just consume an excess at times on this podcast and other times it's punishment. But this was one of the times it was a joy. And, you know, I thought the sides were quite good overall as well. This is a four forker for me. And we've had some great fried chicken on this chain on this chain restaurant podcast. But this one is definitely in the upper tier. And I'll say this as well. Everyone kept eating.
Starting point is 02:17:45 We all kept eating. I could not stop. No, we didn't stop. Often on this show, you're like, oh, I ate the disgusting thing. Okay, great. We kept going. But we all kept going. And I helped my Zepbound dosage last night.
Starting point is 02:17:58 I shot up not even 24 hours ago. Wow. And I still was, I still couldn't stop. Do you have to leave? Everything all right? No. No. You can't leave.
Starting point is 02:18:07 I'm just not going to. No, but it's just my fault. You have permission to. I know, but I just don't want to leave. And remember, I think it's cool if you leave. It's kind of cool. I think it's cool if I leave. Where else are about...
Starting point is 02:18:18 That's what I'm saying. We're almost done. We're going to finish line. But I don't want the audience hearing like, oh, Pat's making them end. No. No, that's not what's happening. Oh, my God, we have... I am excited to get dessert.
Starting point is 02:18:27 All right. Well, you don't need to preset the segment. We can just do the segment, Amelia. We got a food stuff we're going to decide you should put in your mouth at snack or whack. And today, Amelia, we have the Oreo ID Forever Springtime cookie box. So this is, it looks like I see some kanji on here and some higana. This is a... Oh, my God.
Starting point is 02:18:46 A little bit of, but I can't, I don't know these characters, so I can't read this. But I can't read the English, which says there's a cherry Sakura, which is a golden Oreo cookie dipped in cherry Sakura flavored fudge, a second of the flower, and then the strawberry macha. But people who love that strawberry macha these days. That's a real trend. Can I just, this is the strawberry macha? Can I know when I'm participating in this is sponsored? This is not sponsored.
Starting point is 02:19:11 Oh, oh, really? No, this is not sponsored. This is just you guys are curious. This is just Oreo. We're just doing this. Yeah, we can't be bought. Wait, are you serious? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:19:17 This is not a mad. That's so cool. I did not know that. No, if you hate this thing, you can call it disgusting. We've done it before. The strawberry matcha is the pink one, I believe. We're not owned by big Oreo. What's the green one?
Starting point is 02:19:29 Macha, Macha. This is Mora. Strawberry Masha is the green one. Oh, strad Macha is the green one. This is cherry. You weren't listening. It's confusing of them to put two in a box. One is pink and have strawberry in the other.
Starting point is 02:19:40 I agree. That is a little confusing. Pat, I'm happy you stayed. That's fair. Thank you for bailing me out there. I can't. You can't open this motherfucker. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 02:19:48 Uh-oh. You do it like a bag of chips? The cherry one in such a crazy way is like Robitussin. It's crazy. That's not. So I hate the cherry one. Yeah. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 02:19:59 Yeah. That's insane. You buy it in, you're like, it's not bad. And then it becomes cough syrup in a crazy way. I have a question for all of you. I think cherry does it. You're going to the movie theaters. You're seeing Maddie's Secret.
Starting point is 02:20:11 What are you eating at the theater? What's your snacks? What's your drink? I need to know. Raisinettes. Popcorn's covered in butter. Wow. Milk chocolate or dark chocolate?
Starting point is 02:20:22 There's a difference with raisinettes? There's no, there's dark chocolate. Dark chocolate? He said milk. Didn't you say milk? This is better. The cherry one is, I actually don't mind it as much as you guys, but let it. You like it.
Starting point is 02:20:38 There is a bit of a, there is a pretty, there's a pretty bad after. Wyger can't get his. It's really hard to get into. Yeah, this is. Wyger has done podcasts for years and is just crinkling his past. package up against the mic. This can be edited out. Emma's going to work her magic.
Starting point is 02:20:53 She's going to put it on the denoising filters. They love that shit at home, though. Yeah. Yeah, they know. Some people do. Some people hate it. I don't like either one. I want out.
Starting point is 02:21:03 I would say I strongly dislike both. Yeah. It's really tough for Pat and I because we are chocoholics. And these are like, I'm also chocaholics. So it's like you give us the idea of an Oreo and you're like, imagine if it was not nice. And just like, Oreos don't. need to be covered in something. They're also golden Oreos, which I like
Starting point is 02:21:22 golden Oreos, but I, like, if you're a chocaholic, you're not getting anything. Yeah. This one tastes like sunscreen. Orio was just doing too much, like the Lady Gaga, the bride. The chromatico, Oreo. It was like a Selena Gomez, I think. Oh, I know. Did you see that one, the eight-day load Oreo?
Starting point is 02:21:39 That was crazy. I was like, there's a denizen return here. It's so cold. You can't fit that in your mouth. I know. Octuple stuffed. I like I said, I like the pink one more than I liked the green one. I'm surprised by that. And you characterized this as sunscreen.
Starting point is 02:21:55 I'm holding up the strawberry macho one, Claudia. I think that's astute. I think that's very much what this tastes like. Yeah. It's repulsive. The other one's like, I don't know, it is absolutely sciencey. But I think these are both whack, unfortunately. But the other one is more palatable.
Starting point is 02:22:08 I might be getting a root canal tomorrow. I really don't like. We'll talk about that. This is what I really don't like. This like coating that's got the texture of chocolate. but it's not chocolate. I know. It's flavor.
Starting point is 02:22:21 Why are we doing that? It's just disgusting. I ate it. How did that get here? I'm going to blame the person who requested it, which is Wags and Amelia. Wait, I requested it. I got it, but Wiggs requested it. Wait, did I?
Starting point is 02:22:35 Yeah. Like, this is a special edition thing they're doing right now. I guess so. Like, post-Easter? I don't remember this at all. That delicious meal we gave them earlier, it's wiped out now. It doesn't even matter anymore because of this. I would eat in the Maddie's secret.
Starting point is 02:22:48 screening if I could if I could do whatever I wanted a kismet rotissory chocolate chip tahini cookie which is connected to the movie very important that's point the big part of the plot a really big part of the plot and a glass of milk with lots of ice cubes in it why can't you have done at the movies you should be able to that would be so nice imagine yeah a big glass of milk please large in the like soda fountain and you could choose like cheese Cherry vanilla. Oh, it's a part of the Coke freestyle machine? Yeah, flavored milk.
Starting point is 02:23:23 That is horrifying. If I was doing classic movie theater snack, it would be a bunch of crunch. Which I've loved from it earlier. I love bunch of crunch. No popcorn answers from any of you. I said popcorn. He said popcorn. So that would be considered a popcorn answer since it was popcorn.
Starting point is 02:23:38 When you listen to the episode, you'll hear it. Derry Christmas recently? No, like a month ago. Okay. Because I was like, why are we having the forever springtime thing in July? Well, we got it right before we stopped recording for a little bit. Got it. That's why I forgot about it. Well, thank you for getting it. But yeah, I'm sorry. We all had to... You had to take a month off for... You had to... You had to take a... You needed a mental break from the podcast.
Starting point is 02:24:01 Whoa. Don't put it all on me. I didn't need the break. You wanted to just keep going. You need that. Break for this. The guy complies about the podcast more than anyone. The World Cup is on. I can't do this. Oh, come on. Give me a fucking break. I'm doing two episodes today. There's a fucking game going on. What are you talking about? Boys! Sorry. Mitch is being a job. jerk. Maybe he's being a jerk. I'm not being a jerk.
Starting point is 02:24:21 Don't make us shampoo you boys. Hey, just like a... I love you, Wags. I was sorry. I love you too, buddy. I like it when you say that. Just like a restaurant, I buy your feedback. Let's up with the feedback.
Starting point is 02:24:39 Today's emails from John Q. John writes... Oh, John Q. Quincey. Whoa, like the... Well, I was thinking John Q like the Denzel. Oh, right. The health insurance revenge move.
Starting point is 02:24:48 movie. Oh, cool. Oh, cool. My name is John, and I'm currently enjoying some nilla wafers. The kind of story you can only tell in America. Yeah. I'm enjoying some nilla wafers. Jason Tatea's favorite movie.
Starting point is 02:25:01 John Q is? Yeah. Hey, hell yeah. I love that. Anyway, I should read the question. I hope Jalen Brown is, whatever. We don't have to get into this. Well, probably a resolution by the time this episode comes out.
Starting point is 02:25:12 I am struck by just how the vanilla, how just the vanilla, which some people tell me is actually a flavor. It's true. works so well on its own. So fellas, what are your favorite snacks that have one simple flavor and do it well? John Q, what an amazing contrast to what we just had, which was these compound flavors
Starting point is 02:25:28 that we're all doing too much. I love vanilla wafers, saying they're beautiful. John, they remind me of my grandma. She used to give them vanilla wafers, and you know what? I would dunk them in milk.
Starting point is 02:25:39 I do love nilla wafers. She used to put their little slot in the door. For audio listeners, John is wearing the Oreo Forever Springtime thing which we just broke out of. It was very symbolic. Okay, so one simple flavor. I mean, look, look, I can't do it anymore.
Starting point is 02:26:00 But if we're talking about this, like this kind of cookie is making me think of the nutter butters. I used to fucking love nutter butters, which are just pure peanut. Right. And why can't you do them anymore? I develop a peanut allergy in Middle Age. That is a bummer.
Starting point is 02:26:15 That sucks. You know how I feel about nutter butter is similar to, like, chocolate. It's like it needs to be in conversation. There should be some other element in the better. This is an important theory that Pat and I really have about chocolate, which is we both are chocoholics, but do not try to just give us a full plate of chocolate. One dimensional chocolate. It needs to be in conversation with something. And for me, I'm always going to want to be in conversation with milk. Right. And you're a little bit more strict with that. You're a little bit more strict with a chocolate conversation where I prefer. You're like a berry. I prefer. Oh, I'm sorry. I hate that
Starting point is 02:26:47 conversation. No, but I'm like, I could do chocolate by itself. I prefer a conversation. What if I told you, y'all ain't ready for that conversation? But that's why a good chocolate to cookie is so special because then it's in conversation with the cookie. Aren't chocolate so boring so often, though? No.
Starting point is 02:27:06 How dare you? What are you talking about? But like, peanut butter. I mean, that's very good. I agree. It's perfect. Peanut butter to me almost always needs to be in conversation with chocolate. Not necessarily. Jelly, but with something.
Starting point is 02:27:17 Oh, yeah. Jelly, of course. Or honestly, berries. Or honestly, berries. So this is a snack. I can't say like apple or pineapple. I think you could say an apple if you wanted to. Does that, is that, is that what this is?
Starting point is 02:27:29 But vanilla wafer, it seems like something that's been concocted that is one flavor, right? Favorite, favorite snack that is one simple flavor and does it well. Yes, I could say. So I could say, like, a peanut or I could say anything. You could. I guess you could say, like, I could say string cheese, but even that feels like a cheat. I think it's got to do something that's more like, hey, this is a flavored thing. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 02:27:46 a mozzarella stick. Yeah, it could be. Although it's got a few different things going on. I think maybe a Cheez-It could qualify. Okay, my answer is Cheez-It. Cheez-its are good as fun. Oh, I know exactly what it is. What?
Starting point is 02:27:58 A Ritz Cracker. Yeah. Those buttered characters are good as well. Ritz crackers damn good. You know, it was unbelievable. My exes. So getting used to saying that. Sorry, 10-year marriage.
Starting point is 02:28:13 Oh, my God. But no, his, I'm joking. But his aunt made this, like, mac and cheese that was, like, ritz crackers were, like, infused with it somehow. Yeah. It was unreal. Oh, my God. How it tasted was unreal.
Starting point is 02:28:25 That's so fucking good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you are, I get what you're saying about, about chocolate being conversation with things, but do you have, like, a singular flavored snack where you're like, this one, I think is enough?
Starting point is 02:28:37 Honestly, chocolate. Like, I'll have, like, like, a Hershey's Bar Square is, like, Wow. So good to me. Wow. Are you, we had some, we had this, these are clearly Japanese inspired flavors. Did you have, are you ever a, as chocallel? Japanese inspired flavors, they were.
Starting point is 02:28:54 I didn't say expired. Or maybe I did. Let's play it back. Mike don't play back. Wait, but wait, I was gonna, where was I going with this? Japanese inspired flavors. Have you had like the Japanese Kit Katz? Oh, yes, I have.
Starting point is 02:29:11 Like the Masha Kit Kikai. I don't like, because I like when it's chocolate. I just want chocolate. Yeah, I just want it to be chocolate. I'd be the Canadian Kit Kat. No, I haven't had... Denham. I haven't had any other countries' KitKat.
Starting point is 02:29:24 The thing I would say is a chocaholic is that I think the Canadian chocolate, and maybe it's the same... Oh, you know what? I have had the Canadian Kit Kat. Yeah, it's just like a better quality than the American. Probably or not. Yeah. I remember thinking this is a little different. Australian chocolate's different because they had to formulate it so wouldn't melt because it's so hot in Australia and they used to not have a...
Starting point is 02:29:41 Oh, wow. I actually have a fact I can share. Please. There's nothing to do. So British people are like, bleh when they taste our chocolate. They don't like United States chocolate either. It tastes like vomit. The Canadian one is the rich.
Starting point is 02:29:51 Similarly, when they make dyes for like M&Ms and stuff, they're all made in the same factory, like the ones that don't have a chardcinogens and the ones that are that do have it. And I forget why, but like they just send the America the ones with carcinogens. So like that red dye that's so bad for you that only, it's like it's bound in other countries. But they're all making it in the same place, but they're just like this one we can send to America. So like whatever. We like it. Yeah. We're okay with it, I guess.
Starting point is 02:30:17 You didn't ask me what my snack would be. What's your snack? Yeah, what was it? Well, I don't know, but I just, I invented a snack the other day I wouldn't have to pop up a size. Oh, yeah. You get a prune. Women should eat six prunes a day for bone health.
Starting point is 02:30:32 Six? Yes. Wow. You get a prune, walnut, parmesan cheese. Ooh. And that is an amazing bite. Wow. That sounds good.
Starting point is 02:30:43 So I just want to get that out there. I want that. Also, John is being so sweet to you on that. There's a camaraderie on that couch that doesn't exist on our couch. Oh, but I'm actually going to do something where it's like I can't, I'm trying to not cross my arms anymore. Me too. I literally can't do it. I've seen so much of this episode like this.
Starting point is 02:31:00 Hiding myself. I know. And it breaks my heart to see. I was having a problem because I'd eat so much food to make clothes hurt badly. But our couch hasn't gotten along as well as that couch has. I don't think that's true. Well, our couch had gone on really well. shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 02:31:16 Like any issues we have in our couch that stays within the house couch. All right, that's fair. Don't talk to the other couch about it. Because we work it out amongst ourselves and then we present a front. Okay, so if this studio fills with water and we're on our couches floating, which couch survives the longest? Well, Mitch has that rowing skill. That is true.
Starting point is 02:31:35 You can row. I can row. And Pat knows how to run. I think we have a good job. Comerottery. I agree. I think that. It's the buzz cut, honestly.
Starting point is 02:31:45 The buzz boys. I think the buzz boys do. The velvet heads. It seems like Claudia started to yell at me almost. Claudia started yelling me almost immediately when I brought it up. But that's your guys' vibe. It's that established that on love. It's that classic red and pat.
Starting point is 02:32:03 It's that I hate you so much. I love you. That's what people are tuning in for. That's very, that's true. I don't like doing it. It's what they want to say. You're a very kind person. And Maddie's secret, you can get a little nasty.
Starting point is 02:32:14 That's a character. But she has a tender. She has a tender center. She does have a tender spot in there. And it's one of the most beautiful arcs of the movie. Literally, some are saying. That's true. If you have a question or comment about the word of chain restaurant,
Starting point is 02:32:26 you email us at Feedback at birdfock.com or leave his voicemail at 830. Go to that's 8304363844. Birdfuck.com was hatched on a previous John and Claudia episode in my life. Yeah, I would. Oh, I thought about Burr Fathers. That was occurring to me as you were saying it. And I was like, what a conceited thought? I'm like, wasn't it?
Starting point is 02:32:44 That was our episode? It was our episode. But it was. I'm not so conceited after all. No, not at all. You're down to earth. Our producers, Emma Erd Brink, our associate producers of Meele-Marino,

Starting point is 02:33:02 You tour. You call it grand Sam? That's trying to transfer something out. All right. It's got to be new one every time. I like it. Sam the man, we've already decided. We can stick with Sam the man, I guess.

Starting point is 02:33:58 What movies did you see this weekend instead of Maddie secret? It's John's movie. Oh, the invite. Don't worry about it. The invite. There wasn't a screening of Maddie's secret at that time I could go. You're seen it this weekend, though. I bought the fucking ticket.
