Starting point is 00:04:23 but me and her, she wanted me to get operated on Monday and I wanted to wait on it. Okay. I've been operated on. Is she okay? No, she's dumb. This is the exact moment that officers realized the severity of the situation. It's hard to assume the worst when your suspect is as calm and brittle as Harold is. They had no idea he had just killed his own wife, and it's not until
Starting point is 00:04:53 Harold reveals she's likely dead that the officers realize there's a dying body that needs immediate attention. He's gone. There's the cold and there is the frost of the mountain blue.
Starting point is 00:05:08 The froy at his summit. Cooslight. T'n've been a fraud, celebrate of a fashion responsible. You have to have the age legal for consuming the alcohol. Cover her.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Cover him. Come on. officers can never fully trust a witness or a suspect's claims for all they know someone could be hiding inside the trailer with a weapon Come on, Dusty, cover about that. Come on, Dusty. Cover about that. With no idea as to where Deborah's body is, officers turn to Harold to give some insight to quicken their search. I ask her where she's at.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Where's she at in the camper? She's in the back room. Back room? Supposed to be in the back room. How many rooms are in the camper? You've got a living room. There's a door to close into the back room in the back room. Live a room, then the door, then the back room?
Starting point is 00:06:52 What size? What size of the bedroom? On the left? Yeah. On the left. Back in the back. It's supposed to be living around door to the left and go to the back. Nobody back there?
Starting point is 00:07:22 Nothing, bro. Nothing. Strangely, even with Harold's help, the body is nowhere to be found. This is concerning, and officers decide to resort to their next best option, searching the perimeter of the trailer. You get in there. You get in there? Where she's at?
Starting point is 00:08:11 She's on the back bed. She's under the blanket. She's under the blanket. The body is he coming up to the officer the entire time, and by the time they discovered her. The body was lying in front of the officer the entire time. And by the time they discovered her, it was far too late. Deborah Seidenfaden was dead. Now that the hunt to potentially save Deborah was over,
Starting point is 00:08:52 Officers had to make sense of this disturbingly confusing situation. Why in the world did Harold kill his own wife? To make sense of everything, they decided to speak to Harold himself to better understand his side of the story. Bud, you ain't got no weapons or anything else on you, do? You need any of the knives or anything? Hold on, don't, no, no, no, no, no, don't go.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Just your phone? Yeah. No. Well, we didn't have exact on everything, so unfortunately, we have to be safe, not sorry. And by us being safe, that actually keeps you safe. Yeah, yeah. That prosthesis goes down into bone, get broken out. And now, I think, in the hospital for two days,
Starting point is 00:10:00 couldn't drink that or about lofty. This way you go. This is it even split this in. drink or eat 14 days and the stupid doctor would say you're a diabetic
Starting point is 00:10:26 and her blood sugar's too low I said I had an 80s thing or drank any time that ate anything or drank anything for 14 days so I had blood sugar. When was that? When do you drink bleak this morning? Harold's story is tragic.
Starting point is 00:10:54 The pain of his surgeries and health issues had ruined his life. The pressure was building from Debra, pushing him to get another surgery, and eventually, Harold snapped, taking Debra's life instead of his own. Man, I don't put anything on it right now just because of the blood now. I understand that, but there's also other. thing's going on, okay?
Starting point is 00:11:16 Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. It showed her. I checked. It just didn't break out.
Starting point is 00:11:25 The box thinks it's down in that heart. He's on in front. Okay. The box. Got the knife and the pants in it. And that's his bomb right there next to it. Is there any way that somebody Life is covered over for me.
Starting point is 00:11:47 We're going to make sure everything take care of. Yeah, I'll come up and be going to walk with this. Yeah, I'll stay with. You're going to stay with me for a minute, okay? He's going to bring the car up to you. Make it a little bit easier. You're going to have to slide. Put your other foot up there
Starting point is 00:12:17 and kind of push. Oh, you left foot in. Oh, I feel all. While it's easy to feel bad for Harold, it's important to remember that he just brutally kicked his own wife, and officers need to treat this as a homicide investigation. With this in mind,
Starting point is 00:12:38 they turned to the three witnesses on scene, where they learned the dark life Harold had been living for the life. Last year, they'd start with Harold's neighbor, the man who initially called 911. The hell of the thing away gets you on the Sunday? Yeah, I mean, I ain't been a long guy that at me, called me. I said, Nick, I said, yeah, you got a gun? I said, yeah, bud, what's going to?
Starting point is 00:13:03 I need to cheat. I just like to have the other people to help my read. I got to give me that up there every other thing. Harold's neighbor mentioned his wife helped treat his wounds after the shooting, so they decided to speak with her next. Hey, y'all hadn't tried to clean up anything or anything that... What did you clean up? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Yeah, but what did you clean up? up though I mean in the house not him personally in the house I sit in his chair and I don't ever think his chair okay so nothing else in the house okay all right that's fine okay just want to make sure and I put the paper towels in the box okay all yeah just leave everything where it is now that way the investigators can take pictures of everything um it was it anywhere else in the house? How did he come in? The back door? I live in. Not in any of y'all.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Uh-huh. And he just came straight through here? Did he go anywhere else in the house? No. All right. So he just came in here, sat down, and then... She was in the kitchen. I was in a hurry. I got me a hurry. Walk right on the call, God, good. Okay. So just to make sure, came in that door, walked straight over here, sat here until we got here? Yeah. Okay. I told him just sit here. Okay. He said, did y'all call it, please? He said, yes.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Okay. Yeah, just don't mess with any of that. We'll just stay out here or outside. It's fine. But that way they can go ahead and take pictures of everything, okay? All right, yeah. Yeah, no, no, that's what I said out here or in there. That way it's they can get pictures of.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Yeah, well, and that's the other thing, you know, in case there's any drops or anything, that way they can get pictures up. Lastly, officers speak to Harold's boss and owner of the property. He was at the scene before officers arrived and could help give further insight into what actually happened. Hey, how you doing?
Starting point is 00:15:24 We can't really say much. The one thing I can't ask you. I understand you're the property owner. You have the right to be here. But it's an act of crime scene. So we do need to keep everybody out. Yeah, can I go in the house? No, the entire property is a crime scene right now.
Starting point is 00:15:36 So we're feeling about escape. Well, when he called me, he said Nate my aunt said he said can you believe that
Starting point is 00:15:45 I'm just getting up can you come out here and what's going on he said he said bud just called me and told me he killed my wife and he didn't have
Starting point is 00:15:54 enough nerve to get to get him to driveway could I shoot him I think you better call him long long yeah
Starting point is 00:15:59 that's right don't meet him up the driveway the first after the next that way because the other day he was talking
Starting point is 00:16:06 kind of off the head but not Murder, I'll take it off. Basically, I just stood there, but his spontaneous utterances where he couldn't take it anymore. She wanted him to have a surgery on his shoulder that he was supposed to have next week. And he didn't want to because it was the pain
Starting point is 00:16:24 and everything he's in. Apparently, that's his boss from the country club. Apparently, he's also got some heart issues. Well, that's been going on it. Yeah, he couldn't take it anymore and something else. basically is just one of those he had to do it to get away from her. Pretty much more to blow down. She wanted to have surgery.
Starting point is 00:16:46 She wanted to go ahead and he didn't want to have the surgery. He's... While some officers stayed at the scene to secure it, others transported Harold to the local hospital for treatment of potential injuries and to collect evidence such as his clothing. An officer would stick by his side and they would have one final chat about the disturbing events
Starting point is 00:17:11 that just went down an hour ago. They're working on a train to report that way you can use the bathroom. They're working on getting you something, that way you can use the bathroom. Yeah, we'll get any of this. say, they're going to get you something to use the bathroom with, and then we'll get you out of that, and I'll get you to close to you, okay? Are you hearing any voices?
Starting point is 00:17:45 Are you hearing any voices, anything like that? You need to unplug us. You hear me? She didn't. Stay much to the point. Thank you. Where you started to pull stuff with you? That was all.
Starting point is 00:18:04 officers could get out of Harold, and honestly, everything that was necessary to convict him. He was deemed competent to stand trial, and on November 23rd, Harold Seiden Faden, was convicted of two counts of murder, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of possession of a firearm. He was given life in prison.
