Starting point is 00:01:57 Hello, hello, hello. Hello, welcome back. Welcome back. Hey, friends. Hey, dolls. Hey, Sophia. Yes. Lily wants to know what your nightly skin care routine is. Can we just kick us off with some details about your gorgeous skin?
Starting point is 00:02:14 You are so kind. I have really gotten on a lot of K beauty trains this year and I'm doing a double cleanse at night now. So I'm doing the oil cleanser first. that totally breaks down, you know, any makeup, mascara, you know, finger paint with the kids, whatever's on my face by the end of the day. That's coming off. And then I do like a gentle exfoliating cleanser because I have sensitive skin and I can't handle anything super scrubby. You're exfoliating every day? Just like a, yeah, it's like a foaming exfoliant. And it's great. And then I have sort of nothing left. A toner, a moisturizer, that's it. I don't. I don't
Starting point is 00:02:57 don't, I can't do like a huge multi-step skincare routine, but I do find that the double cleanse is really hitting. Nice. What about you, Rob? Do you have a routine? I wash my face with a cleanser and then I put on the same moisturizer that I do during the morning time, which has an SPF 15 in it, just in case the sun sneaks in my room while I'm sleeping.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And that's about it. Yeah. How about you, Joy? That's awesome. Yeah, I have a, I use, the oil cleanser I'm using right now, I think is editrix. And it's, it's the same things that you're talking about. So if it just breaks down the whole, all the junk makeup and dirt and whatever and gets rid of it. And then I'm not, I don't love too many steps.
Starting point is 00:03:48 I will use a balm. There's like a beeswax botanical balm that I use a lot at night before I go to sleep or um yeah that's really just what i tend to do like in the mornings i might use a little a little toner on a cotton pad just briefly around my nose and then i just wash my face and put the put that stuff on anything that's pretty natural and easy i try and keep try and keep it very simple all right sky wants to know in season nine there are such intense storylines for everyone and we're missing that dating slash romance storyline. What character would you like to have seen pursuing a love interest this season? Twan. Yeah. I was going to say the same thing.
Starting point is 00:04:36 There is skills with a girl that is like great and that would have just been such a nice relief. Yes. Yes. Especially because getting that moment of humor with him walking down front street and seeing Miss Lauren and then realizing she's pregnant, you know, seeing that this woman. Oh my gosh. Yeah. who he'd loved has moved on clearly in her life. I would love to see him kind of feel like that's a swift kick in the ass for him. And imagine if we'd gotten to see skills go speed dating or like sign up to do weird things around town to try to meet girls. I would have just loved a little bit of comic relief in season nine with him. Great call.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Honorable mention would be Dan because I would love to see him balance dating with what he's doing in season nine. yeah that would be hilarious if he's like you're just catching me at a weird time and she's like why is there a guy tied up back there and he's like shh don't worry about it all right esther wants to know oh yes to this what is your favorite leftover to have after the holidays what are you hoping to find in the fridge after the holidays well which holidays would those be you could choose Thanksgiving or Christmas or else you know something else if you want I'm thinking Thanksgiving because you know what I like to do? I like to eat a fresh loaf of country white bread.
Starting point is 00:05:59 I want turkey gravy and then I like to do a layer of stuffing thin and a layer of mashed potatoes thin. Almost like the way you spread mayonnaise and mustard on bread. I like to do it with those carbs, maybe a little hint of cranberry in there and then do a quick toast on the cast iron on either side of the bread and have a hot, like, leftover turkey dinner sandwich. Oh, my gosh. Yep, nothing wrong with that.
Starting point is 00:06:27 That's the only thing I want to eat now and forever. Same. That's my answer as well. Great. You win. I have a question, though. Are either of you potato chips inside the sandwich kind of people? Nobody's made a good case for it for me yet.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Okay. If somebody fed me a sandwich that was actually exceptional with that in it, I'd go for it. I just don't. I haven't had one yet. I have something you have to try. Okay. In a phenomenal turkey sandwich. Could be a club, could be any kind you want.
Starting point is 00:06:55 You haven't yet had Maui onion chips in your sandwich. Oh. And that is the holy grail of chip. That's the key. That's the key. And I would also like to present the option of a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some chips in the mix. Yes. Oh, so it gives the crunch from the peanut.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Whoa. And a little hit of salt Or you can put whatever kind of chip you want in there But that crunch You take that on the hike, my friend Guess I know what I'm eating for lunch today Do it and report back please Yeah, I will
Starting point is 00:07:34 That sounds so good actually Wawa Whitney Wants to know What's the most adventurous thing You've ever done in your life Becoming a parent Whoa I was just gonna say
Starting point is 00:07:47 Having a baby and raising her that that's crazy i don't know i also never i never jumped out of a plane Sophia you jumped out of planes a lot many i've jumped out of many an airplane and i would still say like signing up for parenthood is definitely more adventurous it's not the quick max adrenaline spike but it is a constant adventure and it is kind of an adrenaline and lovely emotional roller coaster right yeah i've jumped out of a plane and listen it's it's it is very um alarming when you are in an airplane and then you look over and you see that a big piece of the wall of the airplane is no longer there your brain is like oh this doesn't seem safe but it's scary for 30 seconds yeah
Starting point is 00:08:38 and you know you can dissociate your way through that if you want but parenting it's 24 7 you know I mean? Yeah. Easily parenting for me. And I think there's a, there's a level up in terms of the, the emotional experience, because listen, you throw yourself out of an airplane, sure, you could die. But that's you. That was your choice.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Yeah. When you love a child and something could happen to them and you can't control it, it's like, there's just nothing I think that can prepare you for that. Yeah. Yeah. You never know what's going to happen around any corner, any day, at any time. Talk about adventure. The thrill of the unknown.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Mm-hmm. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the On Purpose podcast. I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with the one, the only, Cardi B. My marriage, I felt the love dying. I was crying every day. I felt in the deepest depression that I had ever had. How do you think you're misunderstood? I'm not this evil, mean person that people think that I am.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I'm too compassionate. I have sympathy for that fuck my man. Put so much heart and soul into your work. What's the hardest part for you to take that criticism? This shit was not given to me. I worked my ass off for me. Even when I was a stripper, I'm gonna be the best pole dancer in here. When was the moment you felt I did it?
Starting point is 00:10:11 I still, to this day, don't feel comfortable. I fight every day. to keep this level of success because people want to take it from you so bad. Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It may look different, but Native culture is very alive. My name is Nicole Garcia, and on Burn Sage, Burn Bridges, we aim to explore that culture. It was a huge honor to become a television writer because it does feel oddly, like, very traditional. It feels like Bob Dylan going electric.
Starting point is 00:10:44 this is something we've been doing for hundreds of years. You carry with you a sense of purpose and confidence. That's Sierra Taylor Ornales, who with Rutherford Falls became the first native showrunner in television history. On the podcast, Burn Sage, Burn Bridges, we explore her story, along with other Native stories, such as the creation of the first Native Comic-Con or the importance of reservation basketball.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Every day, Native people are striving to keep traditions alive while navigating the modern world, influencing and bringing our culture into the mainstream. Listen to Burn Sageburn Bridges on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What I told people, I was making a podcast about Benghazi. Nine times out of ten, they called me a masochist, rolled their eyes, or just asked, why?
Starting point is 00:11:38 Benghazi, the truth became a web of lies. It's almost a dirty word, one that connotes conspiracy theory. Will we ever get the truth about the Benghazi massacre? Bad faith political warfare and, frankly, bullshit. We kill the ambassador just to cover something up. You put two and two together. Was it an overblown distraction or a sinister conspiracy? Benghazi is a rosetta stone for everything that's been going on for the last 20 years.
Starting point is 00:12:08 I'm Leon Nefok, from Prologue, and Pushkin Industries, this is Fiasco, Benghazi. What difference at this point does it make? Yes, that's right. Lock her up. Listen to Fiasco, Benghazi on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay, so we've got KeyDash asking best summer 2025 memory as we're heading toward autumn. We are fully in autumn, fully in autumn to me. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Best summer memory. Oh, Rwanda. I went to Rwanda. It was incredible. And I recommend anyone who is remotely interested go. It's just so beautiful and the people are lovely and a lot to learn. And go for a while. Don't just like visit for a few days.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Like really try and immerse yourself in the culture for a little while. It's pretty great. What about you guys? I had a moment when I was laying on the floor in my son's room with the whole family, the whole crew, and my daughter crawled over to me and gave me a kiss, unprompted. And that definitely put a few extra stretch marks on my heart. It was the sweetest best thing because it wasn't like, I wasn't fishing for it or asking for it. And I was like, because I always feel like, I love you so much.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I'm not sure how you really feel about me and it was a moment of going like oh no way you really like me too okay oh it's so special mine's a moment like that we had this like really special weekend my best friend Nia
Starting point is 00:13:56 came to visit with her little boy who's my godson and her son and Ash's daughter are the same age and then Ocean's just a year below the two of them and watching these three babies run around together
Starting point is 00:14:12 for five days and like play in the dirt and go on adventures and build forts and like dig stuff up and get fascinated by things they were just having so much fun and Nia and I were watching them and Ash went running after them and her ex-husband who still
Starting point is 00:14:30 one of our best friends Patrick went running after them in the other direction and they were all screaming and she put her arm around me And she was like, look, like, when did this become our life? When did we have all these kids? And we were laughing. And then the kids started running toward us because the other adults were chasing them back toward the house. And Sloan said, this is the best day ever.
Starting point is 00:14:54 And I was like, oh, my God, my heart. It is. It is the best day ever. I just was like, this is the coolest, like, such a simple, sweet moment. And to watch, like, my best friends kid and our kids become best friends. I was like, I can't. My heart is not prepared for this. I'm just going to be like a weepy lady for the next week.
Starting point is 00:15:17 That was great. Yeah. All right. I am very interested to hear your answers on this one. Rocky asks, do you prefer a spontaneous trip or a meticulously planned vacation? Spontaneous trip. Easy for me. My answer to this question is just yes.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Here's why. Exactly. Yes, yes, yes. I love spontaneity and just like throwing some crap in a bag and taking off. Love that, right? But I got to tell you the joy, and I think you're going to feel me on this one. So the joy I get from being able to meticulously plan a trip where we're going to go, what are the spots. It gives such pleasure to my organizer perfectionist brain.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yes, especially when it really works because one of the things I've learned is if the trip is truly spontaneous and works out like one of those nights that, you know, happens in New York when you just have no idea where it's going and every spot is the best spot, then it's so fun. But now having grown into the adult who does like to be organized, I know if a day doesn't maximize its full potential. on a trip and I hate that because I'm like this is a day I'm never going to get back. Yeah. So there's something about doing the work up front and then the trip is just amazing. The work is not the easiest thing for me ahead of time. But man, when I've done it right, I'm like, I get it. I get what a travel agent is a thing.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I understand why there are people who've made careers out of doing this because when it's done right, it's incomparable. Yeah, if it's done right, like I enjoy a planned vacation if I'm not the one that has to plan it. If I can show up and it feels spontaneous to me and I can choose whether or not to participate in the various activities or whatever, but there is a plan in place. I love that. Oh, that's great. But yeah, that's funny, Rob, that you actually enjoy the process of making the plans. Yeah, for our honeymoon, I asked Jenny, because she's not a big fan of surprises. And I was like, hey, how about are you okay with, let's just pick together the places we want to go? We went to Thailand.
Starting point is 00:17:40 And then are you okay with just like bowing out and letting me do all of the organizing? And she was like, yeah. And oh my gosh, I loved it. Because like I just geeked out and like, which is the best resort? What amenities do they have, this, that? And the other, like, by the time we left, I was like, this trip is going to be stupid, cozy. What about teenage dream? That's a cute one.
Starting point is 00:18:03 What was, let's just say, what is your favorite teen drama you've ever watched? Oh, man. Well, we didn't ever watch One Tree Hill. That's what we're doing this now. So I can't say our show. What did I, teen dramas? I mean, I loved Dawson's Creek when I was growing up. That was our, that was, I don't think I saw many others.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Name some others. Felicity. Loved Felicity. Oh, Felicity, yes. Saved by the bell doesn't count, does it? Maybe the one episode where Jesse gets hooked on caffeine pills is a drama, but the rest of it's pretty light. I feel like Saved by the Bell. Was that a sitcom? Was it shot like a sitcom? It was. So kind of a comedy, but it's a coming of age show. So I feel like that tracks. There was like, oh, Gilmore Girls. Now, I'm going to stick, Felicity's a great answer, actually. I think that'll, I'll hang with you over there.
Starting point is 00:18:57 I'm going to go Dawson's Creek. Boom. That was, I remember, this is so embarrassing. I remember there was a, a scene where Joshua Jackson's character, Pacey, slept with his teacher. Oh, yeah. And I was, like, my high school mind was blown. And I don't know why I thought this was a funny or cool idea. I got a white shirt and I wrote on it in Big Sharpie. I am Pacey.
Starting point is 00:19:24 And I wore it to school. Were you in love with one of your teachers at the time or something? Nope. Also, mind you, deeply virgin. I mean, I graduated a version. So I don't know what sort of design or goal. I don't even know what the angle was. I think I was just so moved by that happening in the episode.
Starting point is 00:19:43 I was like, I got to get on this ride somehow. You're like, some guys just really have game. Okay. Yeah. Wow. Well, thanks, friends. Thanks for the questions. Thanks for the awkward story segue out of the Q&A, Rob.
