It's DJ EFN.
And it's Drink Champs, motherfucker.
Happy hour.
Make some noise!
I've been fucking my own ears up with this.
And right now, we got one of the creators of Dipset.
One of the creators of love and hip-hop.
Gotta call him the father of love and hip-hop.
He got his lady here.
We doing something different.
Got two of the creators here.
There you go.
We doing something different today.
You know what I want?
Me and Jones, we've been talking and he wanted to do something different with Dream Chance.
And we was thinking we was going to go on a boat earlier and all this thing.
I fell asleep.
But I wanted to do something different.
I said, you know what?
A couple of things we have never did that like this him and this girl.
First off, I love the relationship and I love the how strong the black unity, Latin unity.
I love that it's going down.
Who, if in case you're not knowing who we have in the building right now.
We got motherfucking Jim Jones.
Make some noise.
And we got motherfucking Chrissy.
Make some noise.
And you're going to help us out, Chrissy, because we never have girls on here.
All right.
Who do we have?
Who do we have?
What girls?
We had Amber Rose.
We had Trina.
And Cassie.
Cassie came.
Cassie and and Remy.
That was an accidental couple.
Yeah, so the only other couple we had was Diddy and Cassie. That's a good one.
That's a good place to be in.
So right now, Tim Jones, you're walking a little crippled right now. What happened?
I had a bad day today
on the water, man.
The waters was rough out there, man.
It wasn't good for me, man.
I'm going to give up jet skiing for a little while.
Oh, yeah. And you're really a water
guy. I'd be seeing you in a regatta and all
that. You'd just be out there.
I like the water. I don't really like the ocean like that,
but I like water. I like playing on the water. We got
boats and stuff like that. I see the boat, man. I see the the ocean like that, but I like water, I like playing on the water. We got boats and stuff like that, you know.
I see the boat, man, I see the boat.
Let's make some noise for Jim Jones.
Yeah!
Nigga from Harlem, you ever think you'd be in Miami
being on a boat every day?
I seen you teaching Chrissy how to drive the boat.
You ever thought you would be living this life?
I don't know, bro.
I mean, let's make some noise for that.
Let's make some noise for that honesty.
I always had the hustle, but I never thought
I would be where I'm at, you know what I mean?
Not this far.
I mean, when you're younger, the thrill of being
in the industry is one thing, but 20 years later,
there's a whole nother story to still be in the same
industry and persevere through the ups and downs and still maintaining your relevance and you know
but keep recreating yourself and you know, right and it look like you're having a lot more fun nowadays like
Reason I see to a Swiss party the other day and then I see you at a couple of other parties
I'm like see and it see, it's like you're actually
embracing the industry, like finally.
Is that correct, almost?
I'm embracing myself.
Mm.
I'm trying to have a little bit of fun.
I mean, I grew up a little bit on the wild side,
so I kinda miss the fun of everything.
So, you know, I'm just trying to get re-acclimated into this uh
industry you know what i realized the other day um how much i've missed like for
trying to be like keep up an image like i've missed so much like like i remember being kicked
out of the tunnel i couldn't go nowhere else and i thought that was cool like as opposed to playing
the game like now i want to you know i want to go hang out the Soho house I don't have to be
tough every day like that's the reason why I made my new record uno mas because
it's like I can't talk about guns no more records me personally because I
just really don't want to do that shit But I admit I personally missed out on so much so to see like the transitions and see I remember all it was a it
Was a episode of entourage. I don't know anybody here watch on tomorrow. Absolutely
Remember when Vince fell off and then because he did the Colombian movie the Pablo Escobar movie and then
So Vince said I'm gonna come back to the game. And when he came back to the game,
I remember Ari Gold saying to him,
well you gotta play the game this time, Vince.
And it feels like the older we get,
the more we play the game.
You evolve.
You evolve.
Gross, yeah, it's gross.
Evolution.
Evolution.
Of the nigga.
Of the nigga, of the nigga, hold on.
You got your cranberry in your mouth?
You gotta start drinking. We had JD here yesterday, he went I can't believe what JD told us he told us big stories
I almost had to tell him relax because oh my god that's how your bone broke it out.
JD been around for a long time I remember the first time we met JD when Cam was signing to Unn.
And he was doing his first album.
And Unn had all that money, so they was flying us everywhere.
We was down in Atlanta.
We went to his house.
He had the big mansion out there and all that.
I remember him.
He had the pool table and all that.
I just remember them gambling.
You see how I'm pouring out, Jim Jim?
Oh, that's how you change.
That's how you change.
Really?
I changed, Jim Jim.
That's not even involved.
That's some other shit, man.
This is bad.
It's that foreign shit.
I learned this in Florence.
In Florence?
In Florence?
In Florence.
In Florence.
We, we?
Yeah, yeah.
So let's get into this love and hip hop thing a little bit.
Because it was originally made for you and Chrissy, correct?
We made the show. It wasn't made for us and Chrissy, correct?
We made the show, it wasn't made for us,
we made the show, it was this guy named Jim Ackerman
who ran VH1 at the time.
He was trying to get me to do a reality show by any course.
Chrissy was trying to do a show at the time
and the show she was doing didn't go through,
so we told her I'm gonna try to get the show she was doing didn't go through so we uh so i'll be going i'm
gonna try to get the show that jim mackieman wanted to do and tell him that make the show
more around your life that includes me and i'll be involved with it as much as i need to because
i didn't really want to do it and that's exactly what happened and from there everything rolled
into all right love of hip-hop right a little bit more intricate than that but that's the basis.
Right and now you guys got your own show, correct? On WE tv, correct?
Yeah we have one season on WE tv. Oh okay.
Uh Chrissy and Mr. Jones. We also did a season on VH1 as well.
Yeah that was VH1, Chrissy and Mr. Jones. Okay, okay.
And Vow Whenever was great. Vow Whenever, yeahissy and Mr. Jones. Okay, okay. And Bow Whenever was great.
Bow Whenever, yeah.
It's been a long time.
We got a few shows on Bella at this point.
So, you know, I mean, it's been good.
TV's been good to us.
Now, what do y'all like better?
What do you like better, music or TV?
I don't know.
The thrill of music and catching the hit ain't nothing like it.
So, you know how that goes and shit like that.
It's more explosive than being the number one actor, the number one football player.
It ain't nothing like having that smash record and shit like that.
Right.
But TV, I love the production side of TV, being able to put televisions on TV,
ideas out there and shit like that.
It's dope.
Plus, it ain't no better form of marketing and promotion for yourself
or anything that you're trying to sell
as far as being on television.
Best commercial ever.
What you like, what you like better?
Well I've never had a smash hit, so I can't say.
But, I think that they kind of complement one another.
Right.
So, I think they're necessary, it's're necessary so necessary evil right I'm not gonna lie
This is like my first year I guess of producing television
I love that shit that shit is
So like you put some shit together you put it out there and you allow the people to enjoy
It's way less stress because it's a different pressure and TV is a commitment of things So like when you do music like if you get a hit everybody takes claim for your hit
What I gave him to be
Start at the bottom, but you did you're supposed to when you call production, right you boss
Yeah, so everything you know me now there was to give us music deals back in the day like that, where we start at the
top, then it'd be much different.
The shit is just weird like that.
Like you say, the feedback of great songs is...
So many people claim your success.
Like when it's a...
And so many people claim your success when it's a TV show too, but it is a collective
of people who like...
Some people steal your success too when it comes to a TV show. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, wow. There's a lot of fake drink champs out there. Let's go. But it is a collective success
But I've been seeing a lot of them taking off stuff. Even, not just the liquor and things like that, but the tactics. Okay, so you see somebody knocking your shit.
They do say imitation is the best form of bad eye.
Absolutely.
Fuck all that.
Fuck all that.
How do you feel about it?
I don't like it.
I don't like it.
I don't like when niggas do my songs over.
I don't like it.
I'm going to be honest.
You don't like no imitation at all?
Nah, this one girl, she did over sometimes.
And see, sometimes it's a record that is about my father.
So I'm not going to let any, I don't appreciate any other artist touching my shit.
But she went and she, I don't know her name, so it's probably fucked up.
But she kept the basis of the song still alive.
Like, I liked it there.
I liked it there.
So homegirl, whoever did sometimes over, she went went to Nas portrait and she shot the video there so you know I don't like
that I don't like I don't like when people take other people's life because
we came from the idea we came from the era we had to be creative you don't
understand saying like you couldn't be like the next guy like you know
definitely like my favorite rapper in the world at the time was
granddaddy are you nobody knows who we're at yeah you don't know what I'm
saying is I study granddaddy are you right but if you look at my style you
can't see no granddaddy are you in me because I focus to be something
different you know said you know I praise them but I went the other way so
but with that being said how did you how you feel about these like this is mad fake dipset movements out there right now
This man was trying to be y'all like
How do you notice this taste buds? I like that I'll be, ah. Mm, mm. Don't lie, don't try to make it pretty.
Let's talk about it, talk about it.
It's a different time, so it's like,
if this was in the era when we was doing what we doing,
niggas wouldn't have did, even tried to even remotely
do anything like the sort,
but at this day and age, we set so much of trends
and did so much with the culture and shit like that,
it's only right that the kids follow suit
and shit like that, so when I do see the bird up
or niggas saying drip set, you know what I mean?
Shit, they like my grandkids.
You did?
Like, that's how I feel about it.
I see these insane artists in the street and they show respect.
They ain't stealing no shit. They just copying and pasting shit like that. I respect it.
Yeah, I agree with that.
Not copying and pasting.
You gotta bow down to the real thing.
It ain't about it having a hit or nothing and shit like that.
Dipset wasn't really about the hits.
It was about giving a group of niggas,
creating a movement, giving a bunch of niggas
from the street opportunities to get out the street.
Like, there's people that came from the Dipset movement
that are doing so well in the industry now,
like, from all sorts.
People that were interns, the people that were engineers,
the people that were artists, the people that were style,
like everybody I see them all in the game
holding major weight and shit like that.
It makes me feel good when I see that shit,
you know what I mean?
So.
All right.
That's a ill point because
when you see successful companies,
you see Rockefeller, you see these guys are over there
and they got this guy from over there
and he's the president of such and such-such now like so it's always there's always something
dope. Now what's your favorite era of hip-hop? My favorite era?
I don't know man like you know I got, my favorite era probably would have to be being in the living room
when my mom was break dancing.
That's 80s.
Wow.
When 98.7 Kiss was playing hip hop.
Right.
People don't even remember that.
DJ Magic.
It wasn't no hot 97.
It was 98.7 Kiss.
They used to play all the hip hop songs.
And then like every Friday, they used to play all the rap music and shit like that.
And my mom would get in the living room and breakdance
and electric boogie and all that type of shit with me that was my introduction to hip-hop
and ever since then I've been in the school of hip-hop like I like I studied
this shit like I studied every rapper I studied every rapper style who was fly
who wasn't fly which nigga could really rap which nigga was aggressive which
nigga was really in the street who had a street name like it just was part of the game i brought every sauce magazine i brought all over in class where you
take all the right arms from the little girls and like that i just wanted to see what the rappers
had on from eric b and rock king who used to actually do my favorite like that have all the
uh gucci uh dabba dance suits and like that with the Air Ones. Like, Eric B was a spooky nigga, man. Like, niggas, you know, Big Daddy Kane and Eric B, for me,
that might have, that would have to be, like,
my top two of all time and shit like that.
Wait, when you said Kane and Eric B?
Or did you say Rock M?
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M.
Rock M. My favorite Rock M. The great one and shit like that. But these are the first raps that I'm joking or anything. My bad, Rakim. I'm the great one and shit like that.
But these are the first raps that I started to remember.
Did you ever meet Rakim?
I met Rakim in Italy.
Me and Cam had to make a store.
Get the fuck out of here.
Rakim bought some Hennessy on for you?
That was before we signed the deal.
It was like 96.
We went brick as hard as shit.
You know, we in Hato, dude.
We came rapping.
We almost melted in this store. He had the hoodie on. He came with some Henness see that shit. You know, we ain't had no dude. We can't rap in the middle. We almost melted in this one.
He had the hoodie on.
He came with some Hennessy and shit.
We like, we're killing the God out of him.
What the fuck?
No, we went crazy in that shit.
Like, yo, that was like, you know what I mean?
Like, and then just all those moments
that I remember coming up.
Like, any time I got to see a rapper,
it just like instilled some type of energy in me.
Not saying that I thought I could ever be a rapper.
I just loved the lifestyle.
And then I used to look at all the hustlers and the drug dealers.
And then it just was one of the two and shit like that because of how fast they was living.
And you always see the cars and the women and the jewelry.
And as a kid, I just was stuck.
I was just like, that was a fix for me and shit like that.
And who knew?
I always love when an artist is not proud to be a fan.
Like I don't give a fuck.
Whenever I see Granddaddy, I'm going to go like this.
Absolutely.
If I see KRS-One, I'm like this.
I see fucking G-Wrek.
That's what the show is.
Every time I see Snoop, I go crazy.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
That's my main man, like from deep cover
when Snoop first came out.
I was like, oh, he's a ill one.
This is too bad.
I stole his CD.
Me and my man Omar, when we were in 12th grade,
Richmond, we stole his CD out of, what was that, H&V?
The H&V stores?
The music stores?
That was H&V, right?
H&V.
Is it H&V and then the clothes store?
No, that's H&M.
Okay, I'm gonna go.
That's the 93 one, okay?
That's not San Francisco.
No, H&V.
No, it was the music store.
That was in the next to Harlem.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
You had like Jimmy Jazz and shit like that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I stole Snoop. I stole a couple of them. Snoop was one of them that niggas learned that shit damn near overnight.
I miss that part of the hip-hop era where you buy a CD and you just sit there and you study like you had an exam the next morning.
See, everything he just said is I hope the new generation, from what he said before, then I asked him something, then what he's saying now is like,
see, people just think that you just become successful like people just think people like I
heard artists say yeah I'm gonna be like Jim Jones and it's like they don't hear
they didn't hear nothing you just said they just think that Jim Jones the hype
man that became the rapper and it was easy they don't think nothing they don't
think they just did that they think it was that easy like they don't understand
you know what my favorite ever is and hip-hop that I participated in is 1998
and that was just doing tours with you guys like oh my favorite ever is and hip-hop that I participated in is 1998 and that was just doing tours with you guys
like
Different that change that life, but just the introduction to the game though came guys because I was there for the whole shit
I remember when I can Cam got his fucking deal.
Like, niggas did,
like, Big did
one of the most
incredible shits
in America,
like, in the world.
Like, whatever happened
when Mase bring Cam
to the joint,
he told Cam
that he was going
to give him a deal
and then, God bless,
Big had passed away
and then Cam,
brother, his cousin,
Bloodshed had passed away
and it was like,
Cam just went to
like an emotional spiral
and shit like that.
Like, he was pissed off because he knew he was right there at passed away and it was like Cam just went to like an emotional spiral and shit like that, like it was, he was pissed off
cause he knew he was right there at the door
and we was in the liquor store and then they was doing
the I Love Big Papa video in Mount Morris Park
and we came from the liquor store,
cause like let's go see what's going on over there,
Lockton, everybody over there, everybody who Cam was,
he was sizzling at that time on the mix tapes
and all that shit, and then I seen Un,
Un was over there with Buck, I didn't know who they was at the time, but I tapes and all that shit and then I seen un un was over there with buck
I didn't know who they was at the time but I knew who I was because I remember it was like
undis and they showed them in the salt in the sauce magazine the sauce was so informative like
you wouldn't know who nobody was like had a picture of other man I was like oh that's the
dude that got the 64 million and all that and did the undis uh record label were big before
and then I seen them and I'm like yo Ken that's the dude right there that's Big partner we going
over there and I'm like yo this my man Cam Big said before he passed away he was gonna
give he was like yeah call us on Monday dude oh so that was true that Big definitely was
signing Cam but I'm telling you Big said that he ended up passing away wow then we go to
Big's uh lock singing we love Big Papa Memorial video shoot.
We seen it on him.
Like, this my man, Cam.
He like, yeah, dude.
Big told you, told us about you.
Right.
Call us on Monday.
Just like that.
And Cam got signed, like, in the next week.
I have a freestyle from Cam that he said that the...
Let's go to the video tape.
He said the rhyme he said for Big.
That's what he told me.
Oh, wow.
100% that's my video. He's like, this is the rhyme I spit for Big. And's what he told me. Oh, wow. 100% that's my favorite.
He's like, this is the rhyme I spit for Big.
And what year was that?
97, 98?
That was 96.
That was 96 when Cam spent that.
Oh, 96?
When Cam spent that for Big, that was 96.
Remember, Big died in 97.
You dig?
And then Blush had died in 97.
OK.
And then, and so on and so forth.
This was like, out of Paul, it was like 97, I think.
I think it was about 97.
Yeah.
And it was kind of spooky because after we did start the deal, our first show was like
damn, you know, on Puffy World's tour.
We did like two shows on camera side.
And then they're like, oh, you're going to Miami.
We're going to Puffy World's tour.
So our first show was like the big Puffy World tour.
Crazy, right?
Every night we seen the big memorial,
then the world tour ended on the memorial
big passin' away, so it was just eerie how
you get signed and then you just, it just was nuts.
What was the first year y'all did Summer Jam?
Was that 98 or 99?
I got a funny story.
Y'all almost killed me.
Oh no, what?
Doesn't sound funny.
Yeah.
At all.
Listen, remember, they broke me out as a guest.
98.
It was 98?
Wait, 98?
All right.
Wait.
It's 98 or 99.
Because this is the first time you guys did Summer Jam and I was your surprise guest.
I think it was 98.
Oh, I didn't know you were talking about that.
Please tell me, please tell me about it.
That was, uh, uh, uh, I didn't know that was...
That's 98.
98, 98, 98.
Oh my god.
This is your first time having Summer Jam, right?
Oh my god.
So we went and rehearsed.
So in rehearsal, they kept saying, Nori, wait for the boom.
So I was like, aight, cool cool so you hear boom and then I come out
I think I sit and I say my name's God. So what happened was they the boom did you come?
Yo, they like go out. I let the boy go
when I came out I like
a boom like
that shit was right there
but now I'm in front of the whole crowd
so I can't even act like I'm hurt!
I just gotta be like, yo!
I'm gonna be gone!
Yo, I swear to God, my first Summer Jam experience
I swear to God, man.
Damn sure it did too much!
You had the big set up, you know, come out of this box,
the pyros gonna go up.
I was trying to get a little puffy shit.
Puffy-eyed niggas brain fucked up with the pyros.
Like, it was pyro season. We wasas brain fucked up with the pyros. Like it was pyro season.
We practiced.
Like, dude, you got the pyros now.
We need shit to blow up on stage, nigga.
And the crazy shit in practice, we had it perfected.
No, practice just hit it.
And we did a first round of the first actual pyros and shit like that.
And it was good.
It was good.
And it was just me.
That shit blew up like right here.
But it kind of to the crowd,
it looked like, oh, cause I lit up.
Oh shit.
So kind of to the crowd, it was like, oh, he killed that.
But he killed it.
But I'm like this, I was like, yo, that shit was crazy.
You know why I like the, 1998 was one of my favorite years
because of, please, because of, I felt like we didn't really know
what we were getting into.
We were gullible, like I had a little bit more
skills, experience than y'all because I had just
dropped the war report the year before.
But really I didn't know because I was on my own.
So, and then we would, I would see y'all on the shows
and we was just so happy at that time.
And then we learned the business afterwards. Yeah, that the business afterwards like you said it just was being innocent just soaking up everything getting to
see all your idols and shit like that not knowing that they're now competition but niggas were so
green and shit like that like man like 98 99 was some good years like it it really turned life
around for us and shit like that like right
Now now used to come to the pride like it doesn't we had a different type of ball. We would come home
The Queen's play basketball
You saw me come on me up one day listen
What's the cameras video shoot right? I'm getting busted and I'll keep threatening them with basketball. I'm like know I'm gonna I'm gonna be gonna play ball this is why I did it to
Looney Tunes I did the same exact thing a little bit to that he did to me so I
ain't know these things is nice like these I had no care I had no care cuz I
played for Riverside if he played no I played for Gauchos one year or he played
with one of them since he played when we was like one of his kids he played from both. Okay when we was kids
I see them in Gauchos gym, so I said it knew that I'm going from that but I did I was I was a bozo that
Day them niggas see me coming
Yeah, you wanna play basketball. Yo my nigga these niggas they must have didn't drink the whole day
It's about so much I could do enough, you know, I could bully and these niggas whipped my they're the only people to this day
I beat me in basketball industry 20
That's how innocent he was and I shot a video and we was in video clothes all of us and we still play basketball
That's how innocent he was
And this the energy of New York was different right or in that time, right?
It goes a lot of people making big names to the seven inch and gains big checks that was so humongous they're changing life since they not since the 90s and shit I look at these young brothers and I see them
getting money and I'm so happy for them but they don't they don't know about the
error of a big like they don't they don't know that again they show money
you can't say chicken they got deal packed. They got their streams.
They know how to avoid the radio.
But these niggas don't know about going in their office and negotiating four million
deal, five million dollar deal, like all on you, going to the bank with a check and the
bank then, Mr. Jones, how are you?
You know, it's totally nuts and shit like that.
When did those budgets stop?
Like around 2004?
I think they stopped around the time you was working for Atlantic.
Around that time is when the budgets kind of decreased.
I caught a nice lick one in 2008-ish.
Oh, okay.
Okay, there's still going.
I was like the I was like
the last it was the last I kind of slipped in because of the ball on record
it was like me I was like I ain't gonna 360 and joint venture I was thinking
all that shit I heard for my whole career these things enjoy ventures like
and I still didn't know the game I'm just kicking shit that I heard like no
no no no 50 50 joint venture I ain't doing no 360, I need all my own label
and all that shit, man.
That shit, when niggas be like, oh, I got the label,
that shit don't mean shit.
And you also, you heard it.
That shit is just words, dog.
You do not know what a label mean, my nigga.
Like, yeah, you the CEO of what, dickhead?
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, because I was once that dickhead.
Like, I was like, man, we like, I'm the CEO, see?
Like, you have no idea what it really takes to be a CEO,
make this record label function like a real record label.
We getting hits, dog.
That's something different.
Anything gonna move with a hit.
When you ain't got a hit and you gotta make a record label sustain and shit like that,
that's a whole other monster of being a CEO and running a business and shit like that.
But that's all semantics.
We need to get into some other shit.
That's all good. That's all good, man.
We gonna take it everywhere.
So now how the clothing thing,
like how did you get into that?
Honestly, I did a freestyle.
I said,
I'm a vampire life, true blood, sookie.
And then me and my man snags
Wearing printed up just some sweatshirts. It's a vampire life on it. You can match a couple pairs sneakers
was on BT with the locks in them and they like I
Need some of those and have me twisted in my man G B's that all the sneakers store in the Coliseum I went in
there with a box of a box of t-shirts when I first started like yo whoever
bought pair sneakers give him a free t-shirt man she looked around me like
free what you shit for free total sister put some tags on I put them she's up for
$45 and she's sold before the day was out he like you might have to really do
a clothing line cuz he says you just left in here sold.
I had left like 80 shirts in the heat.
I guess this is all gone.
And then from there, I got it going and ran into some little complications.
But now I'm back and running and shit like that.
I work a lot.
Well, we're going to support that life out here.
I appreciate it.
I appreciate it.
We're going to support that.
I was meant to tell you to bring some shirts.
God damn it.
And we went to the pop-up shop.
Yeah, get some shirts in the pop up shop right now.
So now, you was a director at one point.
Like you were really out here directing.
I'm still a director.
What made your mindset to even think like that?
Because none of us was.
Because of the era.
We all was a little mad at you.
How do you think like that?
The era of big budgets.
Like, when me and Cam got signed.
What was that era, was it dying or was it multiplying?
Nah, it was just like when we talk about big budgets,
these dudes don't know what big budgets is,
that's where it all came from.
Like, when me and Cam first signed,
we didn't know what these budgets was,
and not saying niggas raped us,
but we didn't know what it meant and shit like that,
so we just went with the flow
and did what everybody told us to,
then asked about nothing.
By the time we got signed to Rockefeller,
Cam did a solo deal and then gave us a diplomat deal.
Me and Cam already had a vision from being stuck
in the street in limbo for that two years and shit like that.
That's a whole other story.
People don't even remember how.
We just was, Cam lost the deal,
100 of them lost the record label,
and we were just stuck in limbo for like two years,
and then Dame came and scooped us and shit like that.
I lost my train of thought.
It's okay, this is drink change.
This is, um, this is a director.
Director, how we made you go that way?
I got a big budget, I be high,
and they all got me to do this shit for me.
That's good, that's good.
So the big budget, so by the time we got to more
fucking Rockefeller, and they signed a different message,
shit like that, me and Cam already knew
how we wanted to be seen.
Mm. We knew we wanted to be seen
Definitely wanted we knew what we wanted the people to see as far as us
Giving people Harlem and shit like that and we would sit there and think about video treatments I write all them shit sound and cameras like yo, I'll do all this deal
I'm letting you nigga you got the shit already now you gotta direct this shit
I'm like I'm gonna tell them that you direct this shit And you smart, stay close to the director, learn that shit, and go.
If it come out, if this video come out good, I'm gonna let you direct the rest of the videos.
And he kept, that was one thing.
So what was your first video?
He kept it 100% solid on.
It was Old Boy.
You directed Old Boy?
Mm-hmm.
I told you, you forgot that.
I directed everything from Old Boy to Diplomats to Jwells to Cam.
I directed everything at that point for like four years straight.
Snickers the down low, Hype Williams on the low.

show up in our lives in small ways.
Three or four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding.
But the price has gone up, so now I only buy one.
The demand curve in action.
And that's just one of the things we'll be covering
on Everybody's Business from Bloomberg Businessweek.

by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and best-selling author and meat-eater

were here. And I'll say it seems like the Ice Age people that were here didn't have a real
affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th,
where we'll delve into stories of the West
and come to understand how it helps inform the ways
in which we experience the region today.

I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time,
have you ever had to shoot your gun?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
But there's a company dedicated to a future
where the answer will always be no.
Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution.
But not everyone was convinced it was that simple.
Cops believed everything that taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them.
From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley comes a story about what happened

Did you say Anthem? I directed that.
That's the one with the American flag?
That shit when we got the whole walkthrough
and shit like that. I directed
a bunch of joints that y'all love and shit like that.
Ballin', all my videos,
Certified Gangsters, all that shit.
Damn, my brother.
I directed videos for Rockefeller, for State Property,
I directed Remy Mars videos.
Now is it true Jay came to the Oldboy video shoot,
but he didn't get in the shoot?
Jay came, they came because Rockefeller had just got one of
their big checks, I guess it was like 20-something million,
and they had cameras at Big Dead at that day and that was like, you know, the new sign and the video
was big so they all came to the video set to take the $20 million picture because that's
what Dane was. Dane was on set with us getting twisted so Jay and all of them came over there
to take the picture. I mean, we wasn't tripping about that at that point. We was more happy
than anything. We felt like we got 20 million dollars this is right
He back in the game got a got a hit record the video. We got money in our pocket phone calls outside
We really care about that shit. You know me like plus camera, you know, Kim's a profitable do you know?
Look that's like a shit fade on you know me quickly say fuck all that fuck that I sound like me
I'll be saying that all the time.
As soon as anybody,
fuck that.
We're going to focus on us.
Yeah, I'm that type of nigga too.
I can't even lie.
But yo, so now you being close to Rock and Furl,
this is something that I never would have thought
I could have ever seen.
I never thought this would ever happen.
Jay and Dane breaking up.
Did you see any signs while you was there that this is about to be over?
When they when they make him president, I was like this is about to be a wrap
Oh you you really you really helped myself already not ready
I'm gonna get to say this so cuz I already once that happened the next day was tension everywhere
Oh, this is cuz Karen civil said it was over parking spot. Remember she said that no
She had to relax
My bad I switched topics I'm in J and Dane
Cuz like nah cuz I mean at one point when I seen J and Dane I never thought I don't know Dane business
Right, yeah, you're speculating
I know for a fact
Ain't about a parking spot
Gotta relax
Gotta relax
A parking spot and these niggas got drivers
No I said that
That's not true. No, that's not true.
When she said that, she was making Cam and Jay.
My question, I messed up.
You got me fucked up.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm talking about when you was at Rockefeller, did you ever feel a sign that Jay and Dane
was going to be no more?
Did you ever see that?
He said that when he became president of Rockefeller.
Right.
The next day it was tension everywhere.
Everywhere.
In the office.
Because it was like Dane bust a move.
Without telling nobody.
Yeah, you dig?
And it just, you know, it's bosses up there,
you know what I mean?
You know how it go, man.
And that's how I felt.
I was like, it was nasty, the energy was nasty.
Like that was just like the beginning of everything
just going from there and shit like that.
Like it just, you could feel us from being in baseline
and everybody doing music together,
so when that happened, everything separated.
Like it was, you could feel diplomats over here like it wasn't the unity wasn't
there like it was before that happened and shit like that you know I mean and
then you got had the beans you had the bleaks yeah everybody there that been
there some jays right hand man that been there with them from Brooklyn and all that so you
can imagine how the tension between some of the artists was like, what, this nigga just done even been here, yeah.
Right.
You did, like, so you know what I mean?
And then we was cocky, we was going platinum like Kanye.
Everything we did was platinum.
We was, us and Kanye, they were playing them on Rockefeller.
And Jay, those ain't nobody else.
And they had a slew of artists and shit like that
that was bubbling and popping and shit like that.
We came in and got sizzling over there, like.
Right. So it was, you know, young kids from Harlem, that was bubbling and popping and shit like that. He came in and got sizzling over there.
Young kids from Harlem, if you know any Harlem niggas. Y'all are cocky in Harlem.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But, all right, so now let me change it up a little bit.
You also, damn near, created E1.
God, I wouldn't say I created E1.
Like, you helped it out a lot. A lot. You helped it out a lot.
You raised the phone call.
50 called that company and said that's where they go to die.
And then you came and you went to live.
I kind of turned them into a major label.
You made niggas look at them like serious people.
We all kind of laughed at them at one point.
100%.
And that was...
And then we said, Kim getting that mug over there, hold on.
Let's redirect our shit, hold on.
Yeah, I remember Fat Joe telling you, like you went over there and did that.
That was a great move for us. I tried to get a million dollars from Dame at that point.
And I was big at that point. I mean not big, but I was...
Moving.
Moving in. I was directing all the Diplomat videos.
The Diplomat's already went platinum.
Cam signed the deal. Joel signed the deal.
And I was like, just give me a million dollars.
I don't need nothing else. I'm handing everything.
I'm gonna do all my own videos and everything.
Niggas shut me down.
So then I was, me and Cam had the conversation,
like, these niggas down south,
they just be going independent and shit like that.
I'm like, our power was Diplomat's. I don't think it's gonna matter if we put Jim Jones
diplomat record out on Def Jam or a diplomat record out, period. They gonna fire the diplomat
record. And that's where we was banking on the power of the Burley. And we went to Katja,
that shit popped hard.
And what was the standout record that made it was balling correct?
I mean ball it was a few others the ball was like the ultimate but that was rocks niggas had to pay attention
I was a Jackson record No, no, I don't wanna hear that. You don't wanna hear that? Oh my God. This mother of the accident, dude.
No, you know, you're not.
I'm not.
I get mad at each other.
Oh, you know the only one I hate
when I'm over the club and they play my old shit.
I be like, y'all got some new shit, nigga.
Play that new shit, nigga.
I be like, come on, dog.
I respect you the damn, man.
You know what I mean? But you gotta respect the people for what they love and shit like that.
That's one of the records that got me here in a big way.
Yeah, in a big way.
That's just, I would say, Super Thug.
That's your Austin Carrey.
That's your, you know what I'm saying?
That was it.
That was the anthem for a while.
That's your signature.
Don't stay away from that.
That's a great record. But to say, you know what I'm saying? You know
Don't stay away from that because that that that's a great record to say you can say that was an anthem for a while
Giants helped it out. I did just Spanish remixes J did is
Milk that record for what is worth for sure that that opened up a lot of doors for me and created a lot of opportunities for me.
Right.
Like, how is that you mentioned Jay?
Because I remember me going to a pop-up shop, Big Up to My Boy Biggs, one of the people
that's always stayed the same with me.
And I just went there and I wanted, I went and bought mad gear.
He told me, chill, you don't have to spend money? I said, yes, I do.
I just spent money.
And he was like, yo, it's crazy.
I just spoke to Jay.
And he asked me, what's up with Jim Jones?
And I said, what?
And I was like, I shook my head.
Like, this is the era where everybody, we're all older now.
Absolutely.
So how was that when you first approached that Jay?
He said, because he actually reached out to you.
That's him.
Well, it wasn't, it was more of a...
Tell him I said what's up.
He's reaching out, man.
I'm just talking about it.
Just you trying to be like, you're trying to be humble, but no, that's hard.
Go ahead, continue.
Nah, I was like, I'm going to meet you a friend I know.
It was like, yo, what's up?
What you been up to?
Just talking randomly about the business and he was like, I'm going to see something.
I know what you need.
I'm like, huh?
And the next day, he like, yo, I was speaking to a friend.
I was like, yo, what's up?
What you been up to?
Just talking randomly about the business. And he was like, I'm going to see something. I know what you need. I, just talking randomly about the business and he was like, I'm gonna see something,
I know what you need, I'm like, huh?
And the next day, he like, yo, I was speaking to OG Juan,
he was like, yo, come down to the office and come speak to him
and went down there and kicked it with Juan,
and you know Juan Juan from Harlem,
one of the legends from Harlem and shit like that,
so it was a good conversation, but you know how that go.
You're not walking into them type of places
without them already knowing what they want to do.
You know what I mean?
But to be there in person is like confirmation of the growth
and where my head is at and shit like that.
Look forward to the future.
And that's what I think hip hop means.
Oh, I got it.
You're an idol now?
The weed.
The weed got stuck in me.
Oh, I mean, I like all the camaraderie in hip hop,
but I like competition also.
Hip hop has also always been an aggressive,
competitive sport.
Right.
Right?
Do you think since you doing business with Jay,
it affected your relationship relationship with dane no no i don't
really care about that oh he didn't have some other going on so i ain't really
i ain't really tripping off dame yeah you did it okay let them be in peace and stay and stay in
health and all that type of right i'm gonna do what you do absolutely man big amount so
we we love everybody yeah we do
whatever let me fill up your drink god damn you this is your medicine you follow for the

I was just with you yesterday. You was good.
Now, do you think, Jones, I used to see you as a kid,
wild guy, out of control. Do you think Chrissy is the reason you
calmed down? Yeah, she's probably the reason that I'm short a lot.
100% when you find a good woman.
God damn it.
A good woman is someone who wants to see you.
Let's make some noise for good woman.
Yeah, Chris, you're gonna keep getting your big up.
I'm good, I'm good.
I mean, you know how they just hold you down.
I mean, they do more for you than the niggas that you run in the street doing shit like that.
At the end of the day, when you think about it and shit like that.
I was telling somebody the other day and shit like that.
When you got out of the half, when we used to get locked up, the first person you call is who?
The girl, right?
You call this person.
Call the lawyer.
Call the lawyer for me.

That's our family.
Now, is acting a thing that you diggin' on?
Yeah, I like acting.
I feel like acting is a natural progression
from where I'm at now and shit like that.
From doing music, doing reality TV,
being in front of television,
and trying to stay into entertainment and shit like that
and find different ways to keep excited.
Last time I seen you, you was auditioning for Grey's Anatomy or some shit.

You know what I'm saying?
Let's make some noise for them.
You just can't pick them up.
I have white people walking through that white world out there.
They might deny me, though.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But if I apply for the membership, I'm trying to be different.

Because I know you even had a record called Summer the price. I just do that. So embarrassing.
So embarrassing. Now, how did you migrate to Miami? Because I know you even had a record
called Summer in Miami, correct? Did you live in Miami prior to that or? Tell the truth. She
always lived in Miami. Oh, wow. See what you want in Miami too? Let's make some noise for Chrissy again.
Yeah, that's what I met her at in Miami.
Now, what does Miami do for you?
Because I'm going to be honest with you.
As a city, okay, I call myself a city guy.
Born and raised, you know, Queens, New York.
Spent most of my time in Manhattan because that's where the Chats was at.
Absolutely.
What Miami does to me is give me a peace of mind like for some
reason I could just I'm still nori but I could like relax in Miami I had an ice cream all the way up
to this morning till I got on the plane and I landed I would kind of smile just be up to like, what? Who that? Who that? Who are we?
Who are you coming to see?
Like you said, everything like, yo.
Yo, I never told you the story.
I stayed in Miami for 10 months.
Then I went to New York and I went to the club to meet my homeboys.
And I walked in and I was like, yo.
You was too happy?
And them niggas was like, yo, what the fuck?
You know, are you so happy?
What the fuck is wrong with you?
I was like, yo, we don't smile up here.
What the fuck you smiling for?
I was like, oh shit.

When you was on tour with niggas, it was different.
The fun that was going on, the basketball games,
niggas having water fights, niggas kidnapping niggas,
it was a whole different type of energy back then, my bro.
Like, it ain't, I don't, and then again,
we not as young as a youngster is right now
so that energy might be the same for them right now but I swear I shit was
different I take by that ever I don't want to ask you this question for that
I'm not saying who I'm just saying somebody in your squad was fucking a midget on the road
see I see y'all from the beginning I don't think I was dips in the mass at
first when I first see y'all but then Jewels came around it wasn't different mess the different mess shit didn't start into I want to say 2000 about
right like we doing purple city bird game that was 1999 that's that purple
city bird wait wait is that 1999 no no no that after 1999. That was when I met Shice. I met Shice.
Shice, Michelle was the Shice and shit like that.
So I met Shice in 1999.
Over an ounce of smoke and shit like that.
He had that bomb, you know, where it was like, party like it's 99,
bomb in 2000, everything.
Okay, Shice, that's the guy with the haze.
You got haze every time I see him?
I was back in the day, hell yeah.
He had everything back in the day.
You know what I mean? So that's...
So, I didn't know. I don't even know where the fuck I'm at, what we're talking about right now.
When Dipset started.
No, not with Dipset. When the Jewels.
Oh, Jewels?
Yeah.
Jewels came after 2000.
Because he didn't make it to the tunnel with us.
Did he make it to the tunnel with us? Nah, I don't think so. He didn't make it to the tunnel with us. Wait, did he make it to the tunnel with us?
No, I don't think so.
He didn't make it to the tunnel with us at all.
It wasn't no dip set, because that started gangbanging.
That was right before my man, Light God and all that.
That was it.
I like the way you just said that man lightning,
because that started gangbanging.
That was hard.
That was hard.
He killed that.
He killed that. He killed that.
I'm just trying to go through the history.
Come on man, hold on man.
You can't let Jermaine Debris do the 8.
I ain't gonna lie.
I'm lying, I'm lying, I'm lying.
Cause Juelz was on SDE.
Sports, Drugs, Entertainment.
We were still on Sony at that time.
Epic. Somebody googled that. When SDE came out. Sports, drugs, entertainment. We were still on Sony at that time. Epic, yep.
Somebody googled that. When STE came out.
Come on, that's his job.
How he looked right at you? He knew that was your job!
Just thinking Jones is mad smart!
I don't know if y'all peeped that.
He looked right at the googler.
The googler!
Cocaine hash, goddammit!
STE was on Sony because cause that was after we got
after Unlosses deal
and then they said that we had to go
Cam was going to Sony
and shit like that, and then we
went up in there with like 30 bloods
with the camera
31 made niggas
made niggas sign
Cam off the label on camera
or you in the Sony building Niggas
We're gang members
That's how influential that hip-hop hip-hop is and shit like that. Like, we off on the streets, so we know how to do ignorant shit and shit like that. But now we mix the ignorant shit with shit that we watch and now we in the game.
We think we pop, we think we like poppin' them and shit like that.
Like, what?
We run in there and go crazy with everybody.
What's up?
Nigga, what are you talking about?
Like, this was our mindset.
Like, nigga, we going in a whole other realm.
What you said what year it was?
Two times.
See?
That was after Joel Joel's Joel's was
1999 yeah, because that year you had to make the year of the album a year before I took a whole year
Yes, so whenever I look at so 15 16
You can pull that up right now.
For people who will vote.
You can watch the footage of a vote.
Joel, did you go to the tunnel too?
Because the tunnel stopped in 99.
The tunnel stopped.
That was the last in 99 when the tunnel stopped.
How many times you got banned from the tunnel?
For some funny reason.
Tell the truth.
I had an auto protection on me.
I'm going to tell you some questions.
I don't think you had an auto protection on you.
I had an auto protection.
I got with my...
Lady.
Yeah.
I had an auto...
Because you didn't know how to act.
I got banned from every club in New York City. I got banned from every club in New York City. I got banned from every club in New York City. I got banned from every club in New York City. I got auto protection. I had auto protection.
I got banned from every club in New York City.
I got banned from every club in New York City.
The New York ordinance.
I got banned from everything.
Every time I went to the club, they was outside with a cop car like,
Get out of here.
Come on, let's go in.
They was locking me up every time I went to the club and shit like that.
Fuck you talking about.
But the tunnel was like you probably
Sparkle we going in a time with 90 gang members. Really? I'm gonna tell you
I had to think I have with a bottle and it was just more there and I was like, okay
Well, you know, I'm not I'm not nor no man. Oh, so you
Shit like that. It was in the motherfucking and the tunnels no camera man. So
Dave like came over me and saw and Dave Lighting. Dave Lighting, he's the one right over the top. All right, so Chris wouldn't want to talk to him.
The nigga not come up, he looking like,
Pac, he got the Versace, that song.
Ball head, dog skin nigga, his weight is up.
He run up on Cam, he like this close to Cam,
like yo, what's up, you know who I am?
But now that I think about it,
he wasn't really trying to be funny,
but we just was only, you know Cam,
you know I had to protect Cam,
so he's like, you know who I am, Cam?
Like, nah. Right? So like, you know who I am, Cam? I'm like, nah.
Right?
But we in the tunnel, we're not killing, but for some reason, this night, it's just me, Cam, and my man, Salty, and Dave Lighty.
So me and Sal, look, and we got a knife on us or some shit like that.
So now he's talking to Cam.
So I put my face like this next
this close to cam face like he got talking me to the my man so put his face
like this
what's up he like that you're next but that's unabomber so I ain't me back you
know gang bang we New York don't raises and knives yeah This nigga backed up and lift up the Versace vest.
Lift up the Versace vest and had two Glocks.
Like, all my niggas better chill the fuck out.
Yo, keep in mind, this is 1997, so we still young in the game.
We still don't know how niggas is really moving
We from up
We know about guns and guns but it ain't like we in the club
Like all this is culture shock
Back down we like
We like
We didn't have no moves in this
We like no
We just stuck in man day
Why you start crying all type of shit
One of Nori niggas Nori had this crew full of numbers and shit back then.
We ain't gonna get into that.
They had football jerseys.
They all had numbers on the back and shit like that.
They was calling each other by numbers and nobody never had a name.
It was real evil devilish shit back then.
Yo, 63! 145!
No, we're 65! Yo, you're 45, yo we're 65, yo you see 2-5?
No, 2-5, yo what?
These damn straight fuckers here.
You know what I'm saying?
We have one of the numbers, hold up, we ain't gonna say the numbers cause they're fancy.
We ain't gonna work with this shit.
One of the numbers pull up, we had a snorkeling pull up, we like, yo Jim, what's up?
He pull out two guns after they fucking snorkeled us.
I was screaming, man.
We like, yo Jim, what's up?
Get behind me.
And he find the kid and they like, what's up, nigga?
Hey, what's up, nigga?
I'm like, oh my god.
I want to kiss this nigga.
Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo.
We slid out that shit.
We slid out that shit right behind that nigga.
He said, stay behind me, Jim. I said, yeah, come on, kid.
These niggas, I said, yeah.
Never one in the tunnel without weapons again, man.
That's it, what went up, boys?
Listen, we had a plan of how we went to the tunnel.
This is how we did it.
We knew that they wouldn't search a certain amount of people
that I came in with.
But then we paid for niggas, and then we paid the security we paid as the security said listen we fucked up niggas
in the tunnel so much that the security came to us one night and said this is
what's gonna happen from now on we said what's up we said when y'all got beat for the nigga we gonna set it off
I said alright cool we had the security security meeting I was like what the fuck
I took over that
That was mine, after that I took over that
I was coming in
I had pedagation on fire
That was the difference, I had him under pressure
You heard? He made a mistake and asked me to do something
Somebody had him under pressure one day
I was like what the fuck about that?
I was like I'm on the clock you bitch ass nigga
I got 80 niggas with me Nigga who you talking about? day. I said, oh, where the fuck about that? I'm going to the club, you bitch ass nigga.
I got 80 niggas with me. Nigga, who you talking about? They start telling me, come in the
club with 10 at a time. Like, yo, let's bring 10 at a time. I mean, we used to go in a tunnel,
five ounces, two boxes of Dutch's, five hammers, 30 raises, 20 bottles. It raises. I mean,
it's all niggas that get in the tunnel. I'm going to turn it over to somebody. 20 bottles
But at that time that's when New York had the business because that was that was Club live
Don't part of this without a new machine keep in mind it was Ford models in there. Yeah My Tyson
Beginner walking through like nigga like my
See Mike Tyson walk through that's my worst. But yo, this is the time we got relaxed. No I
Walked in one night. He was just in my mind. That's how you walk through. That's how Mike got the world, man. You know what I'm telling you? Mike walked in with a silk facade.
He showed up on Mad Jury on Nobody Touches.
You heard niggas like, oh, that's Mike right there.
You're like, oh, what up, Mike?
Nigga don't look at all what you talking about.
I got second hand.
I moved out of Mike's way a couple times.
With 70 niggas.
Like, chill.
Everybody move.
Mike act like he's scared. Like, you can punch all 70 niggas like, yeah, everybody move. Like, everybody move.
Mike had niggas scared like you could punch

Tell them what the nice club.
Speed was the gladiator club.
No, speed was crazy.
That was the gladiator club.
Listen, I broke Super Thug and Speed.
This is how you know.
This is how we really had it at one point.
I mean, because that was a hard club.
So what we used to do was they stopped letting us in with the murder unit shit on, right?
So what we did was we told these niggas to put it under this shit.
So now you got a jacket or something.
You got a throwaway jacket.
So now we pay for the 30 niggas.
Get in, y'all good?
So now we went to speed.
Now Superdog come out.
What, what, what?
And our shit was, yo, we just going to pop 30 bottles and just shake it.
And shake everything.
And I'm telling you, gangsta niggas just had to relax.
Like, we was just sitting there like this.
That's when the whole bottom of Speed was shaking.
It was hot, sweaty, the stage was in the back.
New York was different.
Speed had like three floors
This one is bigger I think the big could not go downstairs if he wasn't a jeep solo Yeah, I'm looking this is the gym. So he is what made me

Like, this nigga soft right here?
Like, yo.
Yo, nah, New York was different, boy.
I'm telling you, back then, New York was different.
It was different.
Nigga.
And if you had a reputation, it was, it was.
It was tested?
I mean, it was.
It was.
And then until you just demolished it, then.
But then every time you demolished it,
you got banned from every way
You did that like we just got bad from the soup. It was a little
Yeah, the guy he popped the champagne like it was like like it was your song came on pop champagne You know sometimes people don't like that. That's all I have for you. You won the Super Bowl, nigga. Listen to me.

I'm like, oh my god.
They had me sweating.
I'm like, oh.
They took their point at me.
They're like, hey, fuck, nigga.
They started coming towards me.
I'm like, ooh.
But why?
What happened?
Because of the shit they got into.
They had a club.
With the champagne.
I didn't know who the BMF is.
I'm like, ooh.
It's 90 niggas.
I'm backing up.
I start backing up.
I was like, fuck y'all, nigga.
Second thing, I start running.
I run to the beach.
I'm on the scene there.
I get out of there.
You heard I get out of there.
Boom, and shit like that.
Whatever, I got to have a conversation there.
I get booked one day to do a show in Atlanta.
Right?
I ain't thinking about nothing and shit like that.
My man, Daddy O, he had to settle the whole problem and shit.
He knew me and shit like that.
I'm cool and shit. Got booked to go to Atlanta. I got some arm security with me. They like, yo, he had to settle the whole problem and shit. He knew Meech and shit like that. I'm cool with this shit.
Got a book and go to Atlanta.
I got some arm security with me.
They like, yo, I'm in the club.
They like, yo, B&F in the building.
They felt like everything stopped.
Like the music.
Like.
90 of them niggas walked past me.
All ice cream.
I'm like, oh, we dying tonight.
We definitely going to die tonight.
But they're like, they come in the club.
Big security nigga come over. They're like, yo, Meech won't talk to you. We definitely gonna die tonight. But then they're like, they come in the club. Big security nigga come over.
Yo, Misha wanna talk to you.
I'm like, oh.
And you knew who he was at that time?
Oh, now I know what's going on.
Because I already sat there and talked to him and shit.
Like, now I know the whole scheme.
Oh, you spoke to me.
Yeah, in Miami.
I got some real niggas that put the whole two together.
Like, now I understand who these niggas is.
I'm like, oh my God.
I'm like, all right.
So now I'm like, oh my God. The big security nigga say, yo, Misha wanna talk to you. I'm like, oh my God. I'm like, all right. So now I'm like, oh my God, the big security
didn't say, yo, Misha want to talk to you.
I'm like, talk to me for what?
He like, nah, he didn't say he want to talk to you.
I'm like, oh my God, in my mind.
I'm out there by myself with some security.
I'm like, I kid you not.
I said, all right, fuck it.
I walk over there with the big security.
Big nigga come up again like, yo, tell them niggas to go.
We going to fuck them niggas up.
I'm like, oh my God. So my security, right gon' fuck them niggas up. I'm like, oh my god.
So my security, right?
He said, tell them to go?
Tell them to leave or we gon' fuck them niggas up.
I'm like, oh my god.
I'm trying to keep game face.
I'm like, oh.
All right.
It's 90 of them niggas.
It ain't nothing happening.
I'm like, peace them niggas.
They better get out of here.
I'm like, oh man.
Walk me to niggas. Me just got a stack of hundreds as big asiggas, they'll get out of here. I'm like, oh man. Walked me to Niggaz.
Meach got a stack of hundreds as big as this box, like this count, like this.
Like I never see the nigga.
You know that nigga had a stack like this, like, oh, fuck with you shorty, what's up,
what you want to drink?
And I was the first real introduction to have with them cool niggas and shit like that.
But man, he had me sweating up until my ass was grass that night.
I'm like, what up, man? Eddie, I remember we went to a club, the niggas said that's 14 bottles. He had me sweating up to my ass was grass that night
We went to a club the niggas to this 14 bottles it was me and Eddie
Open at the time and you go try to buy a bottle of Mimble? They'd buy out the first.
Ain't no bottles of no shit.
Not the cheap champagne, not the expensive champagne.
They'd have to laugh and like, oh, give Joe some bottles of shit.
They'd be like, why are you buying all the bottles in the fucking club?
Yes, that shit was it.
I ain't gonna lie, that shit was it.
That was them saying Miami was different different for me. So you know,
I've been in Miami
for a minute.
And from the industry
that when I came back
there here when I was doing
my first album, I
always had this thing about getting away and
recording my albums. Whether I went to LA
and shit like that. So I wanted to get out.
Cause you know I was still
Busting moves and fucking with cam at the time and he just got the deal and I was trying to do my Jim Jones thing So I still was doing whatever and I just want a motherfucking if I came down here to do the album
I got a motherfucking
Yeah, I got the little mansion out here
And I remember we squatted right that shit, you know what squatters right says shit like that we had that shit
squatters right you know what squatters right says?
what the bums be doing in abandoned buildings and they sit there and the
government can't kick them out till they take the bums and call them out and take a shit Because they've been there for X amount of time. After 30 days. People was getting cribs that way.
And here is a no fault state so you can really get away with a lot of bullshit.
I never heard of this.
I know motherfuckers that got a crib that way.
Absolutely.
Nigga that's what I did down here.
My motherfucking first trip down here doing the album and that's when I met her.
He ain't have no AC though.
He ain't have no AC cause of squatters.
They tried to shut the lights on and we cut the lights back on and shit like that.
Still joking, moving, had the pool and all that though.
We was lit.
But it just was like my total introduction
to the whole Miami and the life of Miami.
I got addicted to this shit.
I got to meet some very interesting people
and shit like that.
And I became friends with some good people
and shit like that.
And the Haitian people became very good friends with me and shit like that. I became friends with some good people and shit like that and like the Haitian people became like very good friends of me and shit like that
so you know this whole shit like when I see you move down here and get a piece
of this shit like that like I haven't lived down here but I've been down here
for the past 15 years for 14 years? 14. I think I lived down here 12 years.
See? You've been married for a minute.
Yeah, I did do a lot of different phases too.
You went from rapping to doing reggae, to getting Spanish money and shit like that.
Yeah, I definitely did.
You were very clever.
You were a very clever dude.
What's about you today?
You're not as good as people think you are.
You're stupid.
Don't tell me what I do.
Who the hell are you?
Who the hell are you?
I'm not.
I'm not.
I'm not.
I'm not.
I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. I Oh shit! From CNN to... We gotta get him some Noriega, come on, ASAP!
We gotta make him some Noriega!
To be able to do the Noriega, right?
And then you put a lot of major people on.
And that's how I feel.
You put people on that probably made way more money than we made.
That's real.
I never do that. Have I sent you a check?
No, I just hustle.
I guess I'm gonna ask because I've never received anything from people.
No, I've never received...
I've been in a slew of people that I've gotten to help get into the mix and some shit like that.
But are they supposed to pay some type of homage?
Nah, I think what it is is...
If that was the case, the whole cast of Llama Hip Hop owe me a motherfucking check.
Please don't get me started.
Let's go sis. Let's go sis. I feel like it's your time sis. You ready?
I didn't even do that man before I'm gonna rest up kicking the niggas in the ass and shit.
I did not say that man.
Alright. Let's get back to what you were saying.
No, no. What you were saying. I forgot what you were saying.
You were saying do I ever feel like I own like you know people I helped out.
Like as long as the person stands tall with me, I don't really care.
Because the thing about it is, I look at other people.
And the mistake I made in the 90s or in the early 2000s was I didn't give enough people opportunities to go there.
Like, you know, because I wasn't smart enough.
You know what I'm saying?
So now, and it wasn't that. I was giving the wrong people the right job, okay?
You know I mean so now I'm giving the right people the right jobs
I'm not gonna give a person that I know belongs on camera the seat
To behind the camera do paperwork yeah
It's like my man Sonny with the Sonny yeah, yeah. So now I know it's like my man Sonny. Where's Sonny at?

My bad, we just fucked with you.
But that was the mistake I made in the past
when I see people with certain characters
in certain positions and I try to make them be
office people. I fucked up. And I'm like, and I've
looked at things from nowadays and I'm like, you know what? There's so many
internet stars, meaning these guys that just go on Instagram and they make
themselves famous. But I got a core of people who are funny as shit
and I want to put the right
people in the right positions to accomplish the right things that did I
get deep did I get deep no but that's what you do when you evolve and you
figure out your surroundings that's what I'm talking about because it's called my
evolvement evolution baby mmm one more shot we gotta relax I think it's the one
last shot and then we gonna go to club y'all keep drinking this roots drink the

A lot of times,
the big economic forces
we hear about on the news
show up in our lives
in small ways.
Three or four days a week,
I would buy two cups
of banana pudding.

This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else.
Each episode, I'll be diving into some of the lesser known histories of the West. I'll then be joined in conversation by guests
such as Western historian, Dr. Randall Williams, and bestselling author and meat eater founder,
Stephen Ranella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here.
And I'll say, it seems like the ice age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves.
So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West
and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today.

I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun?
Sometimes the answer is yes. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no.
Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution.
But not everyone was convinced it was that simple.
Cops believed everything that taser told them.

let me ask you let me ask you jim because you worked with a lot of South artists early.
Like, I think, I think you did,
like all, and not only just South artists,
you work with older, new artists.
Like if you see an artist, you go and show them love.
Like you share your light with them.
Why do you do that?
The younger generation is always the generation that's going to keep you relevant and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
When I started working with South artists and shit like that, I kind of felt like the music was shifting to the South.
I kind of felt that early, like this is where the sound was going.
I need to tap into the sound so I can make some of this money.
And you know what I mean? And I got the self to embracing about working assuming self-awareness
and I work with like the West Coast that was just me being a fan of West Coast
music like from my first hour when I was doing certified gangsters you sort of
used the first dude had a video a game yeah that was a whole funny nobody knew
how nobody knew even how he looked. We all heard stories.
How did you pull that off?
Dr. J and them was pissed off.
It feels like a foul nigga.
Dr. J and them was pissed off I did that.
Yeah, because I'm a foul nigga, so I got to recognize another foul nigga.
I didn't even know who Game was.
This was the whole, that's what it is, the whole Game.
The whole Game banging shit was popping and shit like that.
They was like, Game was Eazy-E's son.
They like, yo, what's this West Coast?
You remember like this early though,
remember like it ain't no,
niggas ain't no Instagram,
no nothing like that, like you did.
They got this nigga named Game
on the West Coast, he Eazy-E's son.
He on fire.
He blood, and you gotta get him over here, blood.
Like you gotta get him tested with blood, that nigga.
So that's what we did.
We got in touch with Game and he got him out here with his homie 4 Benton and shit like
that.
And did some music with me and Juelz and shit like that.
And then I just certified gangsta, got to him to do the remix.
I'm like, yo, I'm going to come out there and shoot the video.
He like, all right, but he not really believing me.
I'm like, you dig?
And I was like, I'm going out there to shoot the video.
I don't really know too many niggas out there.
And this is at the time when niggas was like, oh, you niggas from New York is fake gangbanging.
You niggas is fake blood.
You niggas ain't really blood.
Yo, you dipset niggas.
You niggas come out here.
It's going to be prime.
You know what I'm saying?
That's the ounce you're taking, right?
Yeah.
And you know, I was real.
I was real.
I was a real hothead about,
you know, nigga, we, shit, nigga,
this is really what we doing out here in Harlem
and shit like that.
You ain't gonna tell us, you know,
fake such and such, yo.
And that video was a stand.
I took the trip out there and shit like that,
and I end up getting with the Booyah Tribe and,
Booyah, serious.
Yeah, yeah.
Serious. Yeah, real people. and my man Wacko.
Pyro, what's up?
Bonk, what's up?
Wacko, the game manager?
Nah, not Wacko 100.
Shout out to Wacko 100,
two game managers and shit like that.
When I did Certified Gangsters,
Wacko 100 was locked up and shit like that.
But shout out to Wacko 100,
shout out to the game and shit like that.
Wacko though, he's a... He's a good guy. Anybody know who Wacko, shout out to the game and shit like that. Wacko though, he's a, you know.
Okay.
He's a good guy.
Anybody know who Wacko was on the west coast
and shit like that, like you did,
or Allen Ballington and shit like that,
one of the big homies and shit.
I'm sorry, Jim, do you need a grind too?
Nah, nah, I don't like grind.
When you know, it smokes different when you grind.
I bought him several, he'd rather do that.
This is the worst shit ever.
This thickest, breaking, you realize it's a different smoke. This is how you know you Puerto Rican though. I bought him several. He'd rather do that. He'd rather do that.
You realize it's a different smoke.
That's how you know you're Puerto Rican, though.
I ain't gonna lie. That's how Puerto Rican are you.
I'm Puerto Rican. That's how I like to do it, too.
When they grind the weed, it don't smoke
the same as when you
break it down by hand, I promise you.
You serious?
You really Puerto Rican, my man.
That's the Puerto Rican thing.
The pull is different. There's not another black nigga who'll do that. you really Puerto Rican, my man. I believe you. That's the Puerto Rican. The pull is different.
There's not another black nigga who'll do that.
I'm just throwing it out there.
That's Puerto Rican.
I'm just throwing it out there.
Embrace your Puerto Rican side, my man.
Shout out to PR.
Shout out to everybody.
Yeah, definitely.
My family in PR, they was telling me,
I got an aunt out there.
She's like 80 years old.
She was in the house by herself.
And she was like, they got to get out of there,
because the house by herself and she was like gosh they got to get out of there because they um the house is damaged she's been waiting online for seven hours to get two bottles of water
we had just did a show um we did a whole show dedicated to puerto rico and um i think just
the you know the audio bone whatever you can make that show, we should just give that away for that particular show.
I think we should do something with the gear where we get the proceeds.
Yeah, and the gear too.
Yeah, we're going to do that.
My family put together one of them stations where they had, like, two buses full of supplies and stuff.
And they helped them out and all that type of shit.
Then they took the two buses down to Jacob's Javits Center with Fat Joe.
Yeah, big up to that.
Big up to Fat Joe and everything and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
Of course I pick up on Puerto Rican style.
I'm Puerto Rican.
And you got the flag too.
Yeah, I got the flag.
I don't know too much Spanish and shit like that.
You don't got to know Spanish to be Puerto Rican.
I'm Puerto Rican. That's a fast one. I don't know shit. I know Chich that. You don't got to know Spanish to be Puerto Rican. I'm Puerto Rican, nigga.
That's a fact.
I don't know shit.
I know Chicharrona Pueblo con Hueso.
Because that's my favorite meal.
That's what I know.
But you know what?
I did a whole Spanish album, nigga.
And I don't speak Spanish.
It's okay.
I'm a creative, people.
How about that?
I'm a creative.
How about that? I have a creative people
I have a Spanish ever the more break it don't wreck it. Don't work
No, no, I'm talking you better for now no you you pour the best I just where is it? Y'all were talking about the South stuff when camp said and I forget the name of the race
When the fuck y'all start bouncing so about Jay-z I know but I felt like he was talking about your general as well
Yeah, but that's cuz member
For you look
When he said he said
Since when New York start bouncing what was Jay-z record out at that time? Well, Jazzo, if the Jazzo were to do it, he'd bounce with you. No, I don't know if the Jazzo would bounce with me.
Oh, I'm taking over originally.
Can I get a what what?
Yeah, you're right.
I had the what what, so I knew exactly what he was talking about.
I like that.
Why he saying what what?
Like, I'm going to be honest.
I feel like that.
Me and Cam was on the same level.
Like, I knew what he was talking about.
Me and him was like, I like that.
What he mean, can he get a what what?
Disgusting.
I just had what what what what what. Yeah, I was 82. It was me too. He got lucky me can he get a one?
Can't say if he was talking about some talking about some
I know that at that time that
We were fans of yeah, but he's like, can he get a what?
I said, damn, my man.
Paco, calm down.
Cam was always...
Cam took a lot of shots at the music.
He was a very, very dope artist when it came to rapping.
And that nigga was different and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
He ain't back down from nobody along his time and shit like that.
He always knew that to get
To get a set of comments. It's my new york-star bouncing. Do we talk?
Come on. I don't know something my story right now
It says what is it man, you know, whatever this
You're right, but it just felt like it also talked in my mind.
The whole scene going in that direction.
I've been through so much shit with Cam and shit like that.
I mean, if I was in our travels and shit like that, I'd be forgetting a lot of the little
shit that we've done and shit like that.
We've done a lot of spiteful shit on purpose just to get our name known and get our face
known and shit like that.
We was the kings of that shit.
We were doing the same exact thing,
just in different spaces.
That's why we always fucked with each other.
Because we, and like I said,
in a lot of ways, a lot of people can,
they're going to,
there's something in there that's going to kill me,
but me and Cam, in my opinion,
were like the new version of Nas and Hope.
Like, it's a different version.
Because, you know, I see our style, I didn't care. Or like the new version of Nas and Hov. Like, it's a different version.
Because, you know, I didn't care.
Like, I was just retarded.
And he was the fly Harlem nigga with the crazy nigga behind him.
Then they had Freaky Ziki.
And then they bring in Jewel.
Because at first.
Well, Freaky was always with us.
Because Freaky knew me.
Freaky knew my best friend. I knew Freaky since I was eight.
It was Jewel, Cam, Freak at first.
That's who I saw.
Yeah, 100%.
That's who I saw.
And then later on, then he up-run Jewel.
And then Jewel's made it seem like you guys are a company now.
You know what I'm saying?
Am I correct?
100%.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Because in my opinion, this is just me.
This is my vision.
I'm becoming it.
Are we going to smoke another one?
And we're going to take one last one. No, I got one more. I got one more. Okay, no, you can go,'s my vision. I mean coming in. We're gonna smoke another one and we're gonna take one last
Season's big L right and I know that cam was children of the corn all that
Do you have any big l stories or anything big l big l just my memories of big l is that he always was fly he always kept his braids crispy
we'd be in the skate key he'd be having on a feather frame with the gore tex boots like
he had all the pelle peles and shit like that he was always in rank he was the nigga was the
nigga rap was like he was like he was like a god in Harlem
at the time, especially to us,
because he was one of the first people
to get a deal out there.
Him and McGruff and shit like that.
So Cam and I would be doing music with him.
You know, that was when Cam and Bloodshed
and everybody was trying to get on.
So that whole shit they was doing
with motherfucking Big Al was pinnacle and shit for them at the time.
Big Al was, he was ill back in the days
as far as for a youngster and shit like that.
Keep in mind that we 15, 16 in high school
and shit like that when all this was going on.
That's what people don't understand and shit like that.
We wasn't no grown men when they started in their rap career
and started wanting to be rappers and shit like that. These niggas was men when they started in their rap career and started wanting to be rappers
and shit like that.
These niggas was doing this shit in 10th, 11th grade.
I don't know if Big L was older than them
or nothing like that, but he was also a teenager too
and shit like that.
So it just was spooky and shit like that.
And it goes to show what Harlem was all about.
Most of us started as young teenagers in Harlem
to growing up as adults.
We had to come outside and become our own men and our own women and shit like that.
That's why you look at the drug trade, just like in Queens and shit like that.
So it was like we was destined, as I look back, shit was just destined to happen for Cam.
And I happened to be lucky to be able to be affiliated with the shit.
And I just was a little bit smarter than most people and shit like that.
But Big L was one of the dope ones and shit like that
he was nasty when it comes to the rhymes and shit like that I don't know he used
to be battling in jail like that he was supposed to I think he was gonna take
him to Rockefeller at some point I don't know that story shit like that I just
remember how he had a bad break when he put out the record Ebonics
when Tupac put out the record with the same beat um
yeah it was the children of the corn joint it was uh american uh yeah that it had mace was on the
record yeah yeah and then tupac put the same same beat out and it took that so whole yeah
i used to know about me think about it like that like that that's crazy like that happened same beat out and took that shit to a whole another level. You were right over there?
I used to remember how I used to think about shit like that.
That's crazy how shit like that happened and shit like that.
I think it happened to him twice with somebody else who did one of his beats and took it to another level and shit.
But it was kind of harder for niggas from Harlem to get on.
It wasn't like, it seemed like niggas from the Bronx and Brooklyn and Queens was getting on way faster than niggas from Harlem was. That's how people in Queens felt.
Every time somebody from Harlem got on, it was just like a parade.
Like, damn, we got somebody about to be in the game.
And it kind of was, you know what I mean?
Like, he kind of was like, the niggas was cheerleading for him and shit like that.
He had some type of pride and shit like that.
When you see somebody from Harlem get signed.
And, you know, being on TV is always big with teenagers like you did you see Big L with them doing videos and video music box and all that type of shit
you like that? I'm not here we going to school tomorrow these niggas
on TV and shit like that like
On the other record he had that the beat was the Biggie joint, One More Chance
Yes, which One More Chance?
The original or the remix? I think you should put it on.
Put it on. So he like got cheated twice on some big hits that Pac and Biggie
capitalized on. It's crazy right? Now a question for both of y'all. Harlem is
probably the first place in New York to be gentrified.
Now it's like Brooklyn. The Clintons when they went in.
Yeah, because the Clintons moved in and then prices, then they got a Starbucks and shit got real.
Yeah.
And shit got real.
Absolutely right.
Born and raised there.
Home goods.
What's this shit called?
Whole Foods. Whole Foods shit called? Whole Foods.
Whole Foods.
They got Whole Foods.
They got H&M in Harlem.
They got Starbucks.
H&M been there, but Whole Foods is big.
Zara in Harlem, they got Zara.
What's that?
Zara.
White shit.
White shit.
Let's just make some noise for Harlem having white shit.
Let's just make some noise.
Is this bad?
Like you said, the Wynwood area.
Y'all ain't got jackasses. You said like Wynwood. You said like Wynwood, this was the hood.
This was all warehouses and all that.
Puerto Rican hood to be exact. You still get robbed.
In the park too far.
Still got a homeless crazy woman walking down the street in a dress. All type of shit is outside.
It's like that at home.
It's getting gentrified, but you may go turn in the wrong block.
You still can get some boasts and all that shit.
Absolutely, because it's a project here, and it's a $4 million congo across the street.
That's crazy.
My whole thing with the gentrification is that I don't think they give enough people from the neighborhood the jobs.
Well, that's not the plan.
Maybe the plan is to get us out of there.
No, but that's what I'm saying. It's not right. That's not the plan. Maybe the plan is to get us out of there.
That's what I'm saying.
That's my whole shit.
They do all the gentrifying and create all these jobs
and do all this real estate
which do create jobs and shit like that.
But they ain't hiring the people
that live on the land and shit like that.
That's the shit that I don't want.
How about the Barclays Center?
Because they said the Barclays Center,
they actually employed the locals.
I would love to believe that.
I don't know.
I would love to believe that.
I hope so.
There's so much cultural influence from Jace.
I hope so, yeah.
I don't believe that and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
They don't even write.
Do you believe hip-hop people
were all the influence that we have?
Should we start running for public office?
Because the thing about it is...
Absolutely. Because the thing about it is
The thing about it is right the one thing that Trump does give us is like anybody can run See that's hard. Really? And you gotta put the weed down on it. Nah, fuck that.
Maybe not. That's the crazy shit.
It's not in the middle of a meeting.
When I see these political positions, they ain't no different than who we are and shit like that.
There's an opinion leader and shit like that.
Oh, the people believe in it and shit like that.
These niggas gonna be really out for the people and shit like that.
They ain't really in the grind. You know what I mean? But the thing about it, right, Jones?
Are you willing to clean up enough for them? Come on, you gotta start drinking more. Come on. This is your painkillers,
brother. Come on. He's not a drinker. He's not a drinker. I know, but he pop champagne.
He got a hit record. Pop champagne. We gotta do it. He's not a drinker.
So the thing about it is... Did we take this shot or no? No, we did. Let's take another one.
Oh, shit. So look, so the thing about it is... Did we take this shot or no? No, we did. Let's take another one. Oh, shit.
So, look.
So, the thing about it is... The thing about it is, right?
Think about this.
Think about this.
Oh, shit.
I need some...
But, sis, sis, think about this, right?
Think about this, right?
Uh, yeah.
I got you.
Really?
Just give him a small shot.
Imagine, like, Kanye said he's going to run for president, right?
We know Kanye.
He's crazy, right?
But if he wasn't, and we all followed him, then yes.
But fuck it, right?
Let's just think of this for a second, right?
And then now, Bun B says, fuck it.
I'm running for mayor, right?
Or governor of Houston or Texas, whatever that is, right?
Boom. Now, we tell, oh, we say, whatever that is, right? Boom.
Now, we tell all, we say, listen, we need you and the Beehive
to run for president, y'all.
They winning.
Hold on.
Look at me.

Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax. Relax'm sorry. Relax, relax, relax. So now look, now look, now look, now look.
Now look, now look.
Do we take a bow now?
I got it.
Yo, look at, look at, yo, you a gangster.
Look at his shots, look at his eyes.
Look at his shit.
I ain't gonna lie.
You got two girls?
I ain't gonna lie.
Listen, but right, but listen.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Even though young Gotti and young Dorff, we don't know listen. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Even though young Gandhi and young Dorff,
we don't know what's going on with them.
Oh, shit.
But we get one of them to run for Memphis, right?
You mayor, governor, right?
Boom, now we go to Miami.
But wait, wait.
Uncle Luke for mayor.
He's been Trump.
We got to make sure they don't got no felonies.
Nah, man, this is Trump fuck all that up. You're saying Trump was a Trump era. He grabbing pussies, nigga. Luke Trump don't know what watch out If it's not run anybody run thank you none wrong. Yeah, but it's gonna become a president

We're going to do it.
Yeah, yeah.

Me and Emily are coming back.
So look.

He ain't got a felony, right?
We're not sure.
But don't ask.
He's clean enough for us.
You dreaming right now?
No, no.
The thing about it is.
Wait, wait.
Let me know.
No, no, no.
Are we doing what you want?
No, but is it facts that you can't run if you have a felon?
I don't think so.
You can't become nothing if you got a felon.
I don't know.
Ain't big walk like a felon?
You can not run.
You can not vote.
You can't do nothing.
If you can't vote, you can't run.
Okay.
Let's think about that.
Okay.
If you can't vote, you can't run.
But we do admit, we do admit, all right, but hold on, hold on.
You got to be able to run for president and shit.
All right, all right, all right.
But listen, listen, listen, listen, listen to this point.
Even though, even though he's correct, right?
Let's suppose you can't have a felony.
Hypothetically speaking.
No, just let it go.
Just let it go.
Relax.
But even though if Jay had a felony, I think it wouldn't matter.
And he ran for public office, I think it wouldn't matter.
Or he could just co-sign.
He don't have to run for office.
He could let her run for office and be her co-sign
Yeah, that's my son. I ain't think of that

I'm going to go get the jet.
He's like, it's Joe's jet.
I'm like, tell Joe.
It's capital.
Tell Joe it's me.
He's like, yalla.
I don't really know.
I can't make that call.
I said, yalla.
I said, yalla.
I said, yalla.
You came into the show on time.
I forgot about that shit.
I said, yalla.
I said, yalla.
Just tell me where you're pulling.
I'm going to pull up to the private airport. I'm going to speak to Joe myself and shit like that. Next thing I know, I said yalla, just tell me where you're pulling off, I'm gonna pull up to the private airport, I'm gonna speak to Joe myself and shit like that.
Next thing I know, I'm there, I see yalla on the plane talking about happy birthday.
Just left the nigga in the dust.
And that's all I gotta say about that.
Listen, listen. Oh shit. He killed me. I want to stay I went to the st. Regis the I don't know if y'all niggas know this is my birthday I
really wanted to stay and I'm a double unit Everybody know that about me. You look at my stage, I'm a W nigger.
But when I go to the St. Regis, I just don't want to go, y'all.
So Fat Joe comes to me.
I got a birthday dinner, so Fat Joe comes to my dinner.
He goes, we're going to die.
I'm like, damn, yo.
They just sang happy birthday to me.
Why we telling God?
Well he's watching the weather before he's going crazy.
You threw your party in the middle of a hurricane practically.
I did not know.
Cause I really didn't watch the news.
I was having fun with I'm with my family.
We chilling.
I have no idea how serious this shit was.
So we're in prime.
We in.
And then he pulls me to the side again.
Listen.
Listen to the voice.
Because he said it at first in front of everybody.
Then he said it again.
Listen, I'm thinking about giving to PJ because we're going to die.
And I said, man, sure.
It's my birthday.
Like, are we really going to talk about death?
I said, he's, whatever, Laurie.
And I said, I'm at the St. Regis.
This shit is going to hold up.
I can't do this.
I can't do this.
I can't do this. I'm praying, but I can't do this. The St. Regis is I can't do this. I can't do this. I'm trying but I can't do this.
The St. Regis is going to hold up.
Listen, as living in Miami the past 12 years, you know they always say something about a hurricane.
And sometimes it just misses.
It is a 52 fake out.
It's a hit or miss.
So there have been plenty of times I left and I spent so much money and I was like, damn, I'm going to just stay home.
So this time I want to, this is my 40th birthday too, y'all.
I was trying to plead with God.
Like, yo, my nigga, can you.
You're not checking me out.
For real.
I told you.
I said, yo, my 40th day, you said, I'm taking my chances at the same reason.
Guess what?
Jimmy called me.
He said, babe, come to New York.
I said, no.
I'm staying.
So, look.
Let me just.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
So, let me just tell you.
So, look.
Look.
Right?
So, it's the very last minute.
The St. Regis called me and my wife.
My wife.
Come over here.
You want to speak about it?
She's here.
She's here.
You want to.
Because me and my wife.
My wife is going to leave, by the way.
Right?
Okay. But I'm like. I'm like. This like this my 40th man I'm never gonna be 40 again
I'm trying to stay and then at the very last minute like this is we checked in
be good they gave me the they gave me the private the shit with the private elevator y'all the shit open up
Joe caught me again. I said, yeah, I got the truth
I got to see for you and I said, ah, yeah, and I'm stuck on bed
So I hang up like I'm like, I'm still not.
Then the St. Regis called.
And you know, I'm always on the balcony.
So I never don't answer the phone when the hotel shit call.
So the St. Regis called.
Then my white face just got real.
You know how at first she's like, I think she booked a spa and everything.
She's like, yeah, we're going to get massages tomorrow.
Like, we didn't take this shit serious. And then her shit went like...
And I knew it was bad news because, you know, it's a soundproof shit.
So I'm looking.
I'm looking. I'm looking. My wife's face.
She went home. She just read the page with you. I'm looking. I'm looking. I'm looking. My wife's face, a little bit.
She went home.
She went home.
She went home.
She went home.
What are you doing?
What's going on?
I was like, damn.
And then I hit Joe back.
I said, you got those two seats left?
Yeah.
I'm like,.
All right?
They evacuated us from the St. Regis, goddammit.
Yeah.
It was crazy.
Is that?
Huh?
It was crazy.
Yeah, they evacuated us. Well, I tried to get her to go home. OK. Right? Mm-hmm. us from the st. Regis goddammit is that crazy huh it was crazy yeah they
evacuated us well I try to get her to go home okay right I was in Atlanta I think

to go home because why did you stay, period?
Yeah, let's get to that.
Like I'm not going.
Don't lie.
Don't lie.
She's like, I'm not going, I'm not going nowhere.
Oh good, look, so now I'm like, I'm trying to,
she was like me.
Listen, so now I'm trying to be like,
I'm like, I'm going home, so now,
I was thinking of her this whole time,
I'm like, yo, I'm going home, like you bugging,
you sure you safe, like I'm not really,
she's like, no, I'm good, I'm good be bugging you sure you say like I'm not really she's like I'm good
I'm good. I give him the plane she hit me with this. Oh
Are you going to New York? That's what you do
You're gonna be like, oh
What off the plane I can't go! I can't go! I can't go! I can't go! I can't go! I can't go!
I bring the fucking nigga up like, yo I can't go! Stop! I can't go!
Niggas was looking at me like
And then you know the student was like, oh my god
This nigga is pulling me to DMX

I run off the plane
And grab my bags and shit, then they got police
Run up on me like, yo, why did you run off that plane?
You ever have police run up on you in the airport?
Yeah, I'll get to that later I said, yo, why did you run off that plane? You had a half-pull and you had a half-pull in the airport? Yeah, I'll get to that later.
I said, yo, why did you run off that plane?
I'm like, what?
I had explained, she's stuck in Miami in the fucking storm.
She don't want to leave.
So I got to fly down here today to fly her out of here tomorrow so we could get out the storm.
I get there and it was a wrap.
Like, shout out to Chi Chi. You know Chi Chi? Oh, Chi Chi's the yayo? Tomorrow so we could get out the storm I get in and it was a wrap like
Shots the teaching you don't you? I didn't even- This is the real story. This is the real story. I didn't even-
No, no, no. I know how it is.
We're just fucking with y'all.
This is the real story.
What happened was, I didn't want to leave.
I was really stubborn. I didn't want to leave.
So when Fat Doe finally told me, I said,
I'll get on the plane. And then I post this shit
and the fans is killing me.
They like, y'all, you don't see what And then I post this shit and the fans is killing me
Yo, you don't see what Joe
And I'm like my because I posted before we take off I ain't even at my phone
and then I Look, oh

I was like, he said, yeah, I'm here.
And my mom, for some reason, her voice got mad low.
She's like, yeah, I'm here.
He's probably hiding from me telling you that.
Like, this bitch got me in the storm.
And then everybody in the world called me and said, yo, you see what Jim Jones?
Like, you was out there whether
I wanted to go to the beach to see it. It was her dog. I was risking my life to save her dog. She said I want to go to the beach. I said nah we not going to the beach. I said no I want to see it.
She said no we not going to the beach. She came back fully dressed like I'm going to the beach. I had to go get dressed and like go.
What did you have on when you fully got dressed?
Like hoodie?
No, I had on like a sweatshirt and leggings and sneakers,
sunglasses.
So the sand wasn't blowing my eye
because I want to see some shit.
Right.
And then y'all went out there taking it from there.
And we experienced it.
Yes, I got my hurricane wings.
We got scared out there on the beach.
We were just on the way back.
The shit was glorious. We were like, we're going to be good. We got scared out there on the beach. On the way back, the shit was blowing up.
She's like, I told you we should have drove.

That's all of us, collectively.
But go all the way back to where I was., like, so, as a kid from Left Rock, right?
Yeah.
You get...
Niggas in Left Rock was live, they could not dress.
I don't care what the fuck you do.
She went crazy.
They was live, they was ballin', but they could not dress.
It's crazy.
You listen, listen.
My queens ain't crazy. Listen. Your days is a little different. My man Slow get busy, you get fly. You want queens. dress
It's a little different. One man slow get busy, you get fly. You want queens. One queens nigga, you get fly.
But listen, hold on, hold on. But you gotta remember, if you say a slowest fly, you gotta remember that came from the preem era.
And that was, that was learned behavior.
The wise not seen era.
There's a baggie bra on there.
I understand.
You're not a hollow niggas. I think You're not a Harlem niggas.
You're not a Harlem niggas. It was a lot of money.
It was a lot of money.
At one point, all the coke came from Columbia.
When all the coke came from Columbia,
what y'all got to really realize
is Griselda Blanco
came to Queens.
All the Harlem niggas had to come to Queens.
And that's the reason why we migrated right then and there.
Okay, okay.
Can you explain to me this?
It wasn't an exchange.
Why did you explain to me this?
It wasn't an exchange for the cocaine shaming.
If it wasn't for the Harlem niggas,
why all of a sudden you don't do Harlem niggas?
Because if you was dumb, you still went uptown.
If you was dumb, you still went uptown
because now you're just paying that price to go uptown
I went to Queens to get it because Zelda had it she had it right in Jackson Heights talking about maybe something my life you always have cool conversation about
Colombians and all that shit that was when you seen all these knuckles movies
Davis
yeah no we just talk about Queens and I was in the mission I know why you think
not took my Colombian thing talk about a dream, nigga. They was dead, nigga. They was good.
That was bad.
And they showed him the new Narcos shit, the new one.
This is real life.
They ain't Queens, they ain't the new Narcos, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
But in real life, I'm just showing you.
I'm just telling you.
What happened was, one of my niggas, we was going to town so much.
I mean, listen, I'm kind of like a real Harlem guy.
I used to go to three wise men
You know what biggie made that song called machine gun funk
That's a bag of weed from a weed spot for three wise men like I used to I damn near work for Branson on the love
Nice to go here some races Branson! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm real Harlem. Branson was a delicacy. Now, Branson was a delicacy, nigga.
He was charging like $400 a jar.
He was like, yo.
And it was worth it.
It was worth it.
Nigga, there was a point that you pull out a Jason jar, he was like, God, like, oh, this
nigga got a Branson jar.
Can I tell you something?
You know I was born and raised in Harlem, right?
Yeah.
And Branson's been around since I was forever.
Yeah.
You know who really, really, really made me appreciate Branson?
Jadakiss.
Right today.
That nigga would travel from Yonkers to the Yonkers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right the grants has been around as I was forever. You know who really really really made me appreciate Brandon
J kiss
From the Yonkers look we stop it was going back
Religion since you got all this history talking the history see. Mm-hmm. All right, let's go
Actually, you know big remember big-faced Gary All this history talk to me. The history shit? Mm-hmm. All right. Let's go then. Let's talk about it.
No, you know what?
Actually, you know who big, remember Big Face Gary?
Yeah.
I know Big Face Gary.
And the pro, I think y'all revolutionized the street team game.
I think, I mean personally, because I was working the streets for Dipset and all that.
Uh-huh.
Didn't you have a lot to do with that yourself?
Yeah, I mean, well,
I always combine everything that I've seen in the hip hop game and use it for what we need to do
as a different master.
Me and Cam used to call it NWA rules.
It was like premeditated murder.
We knew that we could get a powerful group like NWA,
we get the people behind us,
we can kind of get them to do what we want.
But the most important thing was being connected
to the streets and me being affiliated with the Bloods
and all that type of shit, it just felt like we was
in people's houses and shit as far as Harlem was concerned.
And we wanted to bring that shit to everywhere.
And we was like, we need a strong street team
to kind of just pull stuff.
And one of the things we always remember was that
Benz that Dame and Jay had,
and they put the Rockefeller logo on it
with the buggy eyes and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
And that was like one of the most powerful
promotional items they could have used.
And we was like, man, that's street weed.
And then we just started getting busy in the street.
Lil' dude named Ant Lava. Yeah, yeah. I've done it. Oh, damn. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Street and we just started getting busy machine little do they have lava? Yeah
Yes, that's who
He was like a high school when we first got a lot of us, right? He was he was in a hassle another night
Lava was is responsible for a lot of the street scene that went on with the diplomats
I said a bunch of slew of other young kids and shit that came up there still in the game now and shit like that
but with the diplomats and shit, a bunch of slew of other young kids and shit that came up that's still in the game now and shit like that, but that was when you could do poster
snipes and it got to a point-
It goes to the budget thing you were saying before too, the budget-
It was different, but it got to a point when they was putting up posters and then the fucking
New York City police is just all giving-
Dakota funds, yeah, yeah.
All that type of shit.
Nah, get locked up.
We was getting locked up for that.
Locked up all type of shit.
We put the posters up and shit. Yeah, yeah, I'll get locked up
But it was just a vision
It was a right wasn't using like this especially social media Especially cause the code period the internet period like this so fast and shit, but social media is a whole other story and shit.
It was a time when you didn't have that.
So the only thing you had was the visual aspect
of using the streets and shit like that.
Getting on the highways, posting up billboards,
getting in people's faces, all type of shit.
Like we would think of the most crazy shit
we could think of and then send Antlava out
to go do it like a...
Like a... Where he working right now? I don't even know he's still good I remember he's still getting
it he said he doing a bunch of shit I seen that at the belly June I remember
when I told him we miss Jay has said uh who is Jim Jones I've been wanting
interview back from David who is Jim Jones now my cool is Jim Jones? I remember on an interview back in the day, like, who is Jim Jones? And I'm like, who is Jim Jones?
I said, you're lying.
Jay-Z going to be at the radio tomorrow.
Take the whole Hot 97 with a thousand posters that say,
who is Jim Jones?
Ask Jay-Z.
So when Jay walk in the building,
he see nothing but that.
You heard it?
Yeah.
Man, he about call me that morning to call Nick,
call somebody to wake me up like, yo, my nigga,
if you don't have somebody come take all these folks there,
we will not play none of your music no more.
That's how powerful Jay was back when I was doing the ball.
And I was high powered when I was doing ball.
That's how powerful he was, nigga.
If you don't have somebody,
and you know I had somebody come go clean
all of the posts out,
that nigga would take all of them posts down right there.
Like yo, the politics of this game is crazy
when you got power, you got powers,
nothing to fade that to.
I actually meant Ant when I said Big Face,
even though Big Face was at Epic, right?
No, Big Face is at Rock and Roll.
Big Face is at Rock and Roll.
So maybe I meant both of them, because I dealt with both of them when they were there.
The street team was a major part of a lot of rappers' career and shit like that.
If you didn't have no visual, everywhere we went, that's part of the budget.
Everywhere we went, we had a street team.
We land in Miami, we land in Atlanta, we land in the Midwest.
Street team was there.
Nigga, when you land, you go to the club, you got back then.
Pulses up, all type of shit out in the front.
Like it was just like,
it was a real running machine and shit like that.
Like I tell you one year,
I did so much tours with Def Jam, right?
That I had to, it was this one tour.
So you know, you realize that when you go to the town,
when you're on a tour, that there's people,
there's other people on a tour that they know the streets
in.
So what I used to do was when you land, you know you can't bring the buses through parts
of the city, you gotta park that bus.
So what I learned was I put the Hummer on the back of the bus.
I remember you.
You remember?
I put the Hummer, I had bought a Hummer and I put the hummel I had bought a home
The back of the motherfucking
Yeah Oh, I had every honest hate and I'm niggas we were into the town
I went one the street team then I go to the street team niggas to come get me
We were good. We got the home. Oh, yeah
Yeah, I gotta relax
And we go straight to the mall and get fresh and then the artist went to Def Jam and said why y'all like
Nari more and nigga said no we don't he created his own shit
You know what I mean we gotta relax we gotta relax
Niggas used to die to have a Def Jam jacket let alone to be signed to Def Jam like yo
Def Jam was a dream nigga I don't know if it office still a dream like that but when we was coming up it's gone he was down with Def Jam a nigga
you ain't gonna talk no more you was guaranteeing to blow on Def Jam back in the day
are we gonna pop the big boy Jones?
pop it but back in I was saying as a kid from left frack
backing it out go back it out
as a kid from left frack that don't know. As a kid from left right, I don't know. That's a big shit.
Yeah, we know. We don't need that.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Pop that. Pop that.
Please, because if not, it's going to be a champagne shower.
So, Noria, as a kid from left right, right?
Yup.
After all this shit, we've been talking some more shit.
Mm-hmm.
I'm in. You can interview me. Oh, shit. Let's go. After all the shit we've been talking some motion
We'll be in Miami in the same regions when you do fat Joe gotta rescue
Cuz it's like...
I was like, so... Nah, but you not even listening.
But the fact that you have the option.
That shit, we used to watch the rich niggas do that.
Yeah, I know.
Okay?
I know.
Think about that.
Well, if I wanted to do the rich nigga shit, I was doomed.
No, 100%.
Yeah, but I had to do that.
I gotta thank Fat Joe.
He came in from left rack.
He's just saying, from there to back.
The options we have, like nigga.
If a nigga can't get regular flight, he stuck. Yeah, he stuck. He's just saying from there to now. The options we have like n***a. If a n***a can't get a regular flight he stuck. He stuck. He gotta buckle down.
That was dope.
I gotta thank Fat Joe.
We got all type of options.
Yeah I gotta thank Fat Joe and his whole family.
You gotta thank him but you also have to beat yourself up for being in a position to be
in the hip hop community.
Exactly.
You did it.
That secret society that we have amongst all the shit is powerful my n***a.
Exactly.
Exactly.
And then they 100%.
That's the crazy shit is.
It was genuine.
It was genuine.
It was genuine.
It was genuine.
It was genuine.
It was genuine. It was genuine. It was genuine. It was genuine. It was genuine. That secret society that we have amongst all this shit is powerful, my nigga.
Exactly.
Exactly.
And then they 100%. That's the crazy shit is.
It was jamming.
Again, I be thinking like, sometimes I see a wife, but I be thinking like, you don't live out here like how I live out here.
And that let me know from that instance because some of the fans killed me.
They were like, how the fuck fuck you have niggas leave
Jim Jones and I was like what and then I called you give me a real story
Yeah, I was I really was and didn't think I said didn, then, I mean, because obviously I ain't put,
I just called Jim Jones.
He knows he's okay on Instagram or whatever.
But then niggas is like,
yo, Jones shit is lit.
Yo, because at one point,
everything in Miami was out.
So niggas started watching the news
and they were reporting on Jim's gram.
This shit was amazing.
I'm like, yo.
Niggas was like, yo,
I'm seeing regular people. I'm just yo things like yo, I'm seeing regular people
I'm just just regularly going out there and really was like oh, yeah, I ain't watching that shit. I watch this CNN
I'm watching Jim Jones
One of my sisters my nigga Reggie
hit me like, nigga, you stuck out there, nigga, and you were poured live on the Grams, you
gonna go super viral, nigga.
He said, you know, niggas, fuck what you been saying.
Oh, he tell you that before?
Before?
Really?
I didn't know that.
Yeah, Reggie was going, he's like, nigga, fucking go live on the terrace, nigga.
You in the middle of this shit, you on the water.
So what happened?
I texted him back.
By the way, you have a balcony. A terrace is fucking, you know, a balcony. He's like, nigga, fucking go live on a terrace, nigga. You in the middle of this shit. You on the water.
So what happened?
By the way, you have a balcony.
A terrace is for people in the hood.
You got that?
That's right.
Get them together.
Relax.
Get your shit together.
OK.
I got to relax.
You got to relax.
You need to relax.
It's cool.
I was going to say, I was going to fire Skater.
I hate him.
I hate him. Did you him. I hate him.
Did you guys get Sparrow?
No.
Nothing?
Nothing.
I came and went out for a date and that's it.
Nah, we was good.
We was good.
We just drove each other crazy but we was good.
Pretty much.
Me and my buddy.
But we was filming a new shit.
We laughed so hard.
We had so much fun.
We had so much fun filming that new shit.
That was the funniest.
That was the fun part of the whole Being trapped in the storm and this is a whole conglomerate idea
This is the big boy this is Jones we be having people come into the park as if you pull this that's cool
That's a little dwarf right there.
Yeah, no, that's one, that's another situation.
That's the midget, yeah,
because no, they don't like to be called midget, y'all.
Oh, sorry, little people.
It's a little person.
It's a little person, it's a little person.
It's a little person.
It's a little person.
It's a little person, I apologize.
Jimmy, do you know who these little people, I mean.
Who's your favorite rapper?
Granddaddy, how are you, baby?
A little old-time guy.
Old-time, Granddaddy,
Karras, one, Bismar Markie, and Coogee Rap.
If you put them four together, and they...
Say them again.
Granddaddy, you, KS1, Coogee Rap, and Biz Markie.
If you put them all together, because Biz Mark always...
Because Biz Mark always had fun.
He always said, I pick a booger.
He said, and if you listen to my rounds, I always want to make niggas have fun and
laugh you know what I'm saying I say some shit like that because Biz Mark touched my life
around the planet yeah yeah yeah you know what I'm saying like niggas didn't even know what I was talking about
you know what I'm saying y'all you know what I mean I said I brought a candle I run laughs around the English
channel Neptune's a guy that cock a spayards. I'm going to be burning a candle. You know what?
I always wondered what mindset you was in when you were writing.
I'm going to break it down for you, sis.
Okay.
Thank you.
When I say I light a candle, that's because somebody just passed away.
Passed away.
Oh, you're like Catholic Church.
I light a candle.
I'm so mad I run laps around the English Channel.
The English Channel is the biggest body of water in England.
Yes, I got it.
I got it.
I'm trying to be smart right now.
Right?
So I run laps around the English Channel. And Neptune's got a towards I got a car span you back then we didn't call guns guns
We call them dogs. So a cock of Spaniel will be the
Stupid to the world I never knew that. Yeah, well I'm dyslexic. That's the ill shit about fucking hip hop.
It's like, you know how Africa got different dialects?
That's what hip hop is.
Every gang or every squad or every place or every side or every coast got a different dialect.
Even neighborhood wise.
And we didn't know what baby niggas was talking about when they first came out
We had to learn all that song. She would be
Then you said cock a spank you just fuck me up with that
My neighborhood at that time
It's so fucked up because the police was watching everything and we didn't know so so our crew you do yo, yo, mr
Lee you don't fuck it up you pop it
Can you pop it? Shout out to the new mic! What did you say? That's hot!
Go over there!
No, no, no, over there!

Yo, listen, how champagne kill people?
No, no, no, no they talking about? Yo, listen, hot champagne kill people.
No, no, no.
You're taking control right now.
Why are you looking over there?
You are so serious right now.
Because I know how un-spurious champagne people open it.
Yeah.
You're supposed to have your hand over the top.
You need the metal on it.
No, but he's still supposed to.
That shit can put somebody's eye out.
That's right I listen to me
I'm gonna say some shit like this
No, you really look up. No you realize it you realize you realize hip hop is his own is his own language, right?
Like Spanish you realize
Do you want to drink some shit off of Norris Paul? I don't know. Off his watch? Oh, she turned around with no drip.
No drip, bitch.
No drip.
I'm from Paris right now.
You from Paris?
You from Paris?
My name is Pierre.
Put me Pierre.
The same.
Pierre.
It was a nigga named Pierre.
It was a nigga named Pierre in my hood.
Light skinned nigga, curly hair.
I ain't like him.
He was too pretty.
You had to name the match.
You got your name Pierre, you light skinned with curly hair.
I don't even like you.
I don't even like you. I don't even like you. I don't, curly hair, I ain't like him. He was too pretty. And you had the name to match.
Like, you got your name Pierre, you light-skinned with curly hair, I don't even like you and
shit like that.
He look like Albie Shaw?
Oh my God.
He was Albie Shaw light-skinned?
Was he Albie Shaw light-skinned?
You giving that to me?
Yeah.
No, giving it to you.
I'm gonna be- I'm gonna be-
Yeah, come on.
Come on, come on, baby.
You got your drink?
Boom.
We doing that.
Look at that
Jesus no right back what I was saying right I'm gonna say I'm gonna show you
I'm gonna tell you some funny shit okay because you know hip-hop like how strong
hip-hop is or how strong is the hood is or just the white people call it urban
culture and which they learn which they try to talk about,
we're going to make a whole new language for y'all called Ebonics.
Fuck it with Ebonics, but
look, it's like speaking Spanish,
like hip-hop, so if you're
in a white neighborhood and you be like,
yo, I'm going to pull up on you.
Who got the gas
or who got the lean?
You did?
But listen,
but listen, so if you go to a little reason you go to the point person is that I'm gonna pull up on you only some
gas or something Yes! You did? Yeah. It's crazy. It's crazy.
Have you ever fucked Elaine?
Me?
Yeah.
Yes.
Only in Kentucky.
Is that how you designed the scissor product?
No.
I got a scissor eye.
Did I know you when you was in Kentucky?
Yeah, you still know me when I'm in Kentucky.
Every time I do a show I'm Kentucky D. But that's a whole other story.
It got weird.
It got weird.
I came here one other night from Kentucky.
It got awkward.
I like it. I like it. Listen. another story they got away I said you want to hear my first to hurt about me
yeah it's a hip-hop story my Haitian friend is it is a hip-hop story Boom. My niggas. Alright, so we was going on, we was going to, we was going to Miami.
The Spade just came home for the body.
Yeah, shout out to Spade. We was going to Miami to the, uh,
Puffy World tour and Dutch and Spade had just got signed to Entertainment.
We all on the tour bus with Charlie Baltimore and the nigga Dutch, the light-skinned one,
Hello.
He like, yo, he like, yo, I'm about to drink this shit you know we don't worry if I don't wake up on the steep all the way to Miami
don't worry about that shit on this we call it we call it your sister that's
what we doing feeling like what what the fuck are you talking about
I swear to God we drank that shit in New York on 26th Street there but under the
laws that nigga didn't wake up until we got to Miami. That was my first introduction to the box my nigga
I was like
You know being estate property or shit again
Remember I had lived in Houston for a while and the body club out there called club dips it this well
How crazy that green shit was like in Houston that fucking shit is a whole other world. There's music for it. Scissor, bling, bling.
DJ, screw the whole shit.
I was like, yo, that's crazy.
So when I got a chance to, when I came back after I lost the club,
God bless my man D-Ray and shit like that, and I left Houston.
I love Houston.
Houston is one of the dopest places in America and shit like that.
When I came back to New York, this is when, not
too long after Cam High got the Rockefeller deal, there was a couple people asking me
up there, and I got a nigga asking me, have you had a chance to do the liquor? What was
your name? I'm like, what? I named the liquor Scissor, but this is at the time that-
That's what Lee was called back then.
Yeah, it was called Scissor.
This is at the time when we were drinking Alizé and Henness It was called this and you said the time we were drinking alize and Hennessy, you know
I was like name is scissor
I want to make it purple and I want to make it just like alize so if you haven't drank scissor
It was like the same formula. This was purple and shit like that
So I
Should we meditate a market in his market marketer scheme?
And I was like, I know all the South niggas
and the West niggas and they all know what scissor is
and shit like that, you dig?
So I just went ham with the shit.
And you know what else, me and Cam went through our shit.
So we had a chance to be called
Trader Rich back in the day, but that didn't work.
I'm going to tell you a funny thing about the scissor shit.
I never tasted it.
I never fucked with scissor, right?
So Jones hit me.
He said, yo, Norm, I need you to do a drop with me.
I was like, yo, I said, nah, I'm not letting this nigga just come in my crib.
I said, yo, you got to do a drop and you got to do a song.
You got to hang out with me the whole day.
I can't.
Bunch of niggas from Queens in the studio.
I said, you got to do it.
You're the first nigga in that studio on Madison Avenue.
Oh, that shit was good. That shit was good.
That shit was good.
That shit was big.
That shit was big.
I said, nigga, you on Madison.
We had Roaches and Rats, but we was on Madison Avenue.
My shit was $9,500 a month, nigga.
And you know what I was doing? I was invoicing.
You was one of the first hip-hop niggas that had your own studio?
I was invoicing. I got my studio because I remember you had your studio.
Thank you, Jenjo. Because niggas don't give you that props.
You probably own your nigga that note. Let me tell you something.
I haven't been paid for interior design yet.
I was invoicing. What happened was I went somewhere and they invoiced me for just walking in there.
What?
And then I said, oh shit, but I did listen to a beat.
And I realized, damn, they can't actually do that.
It's their business.
And I said, oh, shit, but I ain't going to do niggas like that.
I'm not going to let you walk in my joint.
Listen, let's rock them together.
You tell them, niggas, you here.
Look, I got a fax machine.
I discovered something called a fax machine.
I hate you.
Invoice.
Invoice is so crazy. You know where I hate you. Invoice was, invoice was, invoice was so crazy in this industry.
Invoice was a check.
I got the invoice.
You know what I mean, Jeff Jarrett?
I got the invoice, yo.
9,000, I need that ASAP.
They have it to you on Tuesday and Thursday when it's the checks.
So what happened was everybody, if they used a homeboy, they couldn't get those checks.
So I always told everybody, I said, listen, you can use it for free.
I don't give a fuck.
But you can use it.
But tell your label.
So I had every artist in the game just come into the hood lab.
They're like, yo, boom, boom.
I'm going to tell my studio I was here for three days.
I said, no problem.
They said, but, you know, Nori, I'm gonna hit for one day no problem you have the whole joint we had
the hotel across the street we will go to the hotel we were just chill we have
balcony and and that was a whole hustle I did for like 10 years goddamn it I had that shit before, bassline.
I'm gonna be honest.
And Def Jam, when Cam got to the Rockefeller deal and shit like that, you know how I start,
I've been in so many sessions, I remember the first session I seen, Pro Tools, that
was in the hip-hop era in 1997, where one of them white engineers that came here bringing a big project back out here
Because when we started recording those rails
This hot on wheels and shit like that
So I would watch the pro tools for me really can't punch in because you punched in they had to take some of the tape so they
Listen to your raps at home. They consider beats at home. Come to the studio
And already remember this shit like that's in the pro tools came and shit like that. So
Okay, I just to watch it was all the motherfucking engineers and then came to Sondheim
Def jammed and what was in the studio? There'll be always assistance there, but the systems know everything the engineers know
I was like a kid. You know I know how to record like yo, let me get the engineering chair. I think I'm gonna record yeah
You ever heard of an inbox
Yeah, I'm the one who made the inbox famous inside of the hip-hop game not to say nothing like that. So
Let's take it there
Cam had an engineer named Carlisle you have a Carlisle engineer any assistance Chinese nationals ago Chinese thinking
I got one you got you got a backwood. That's that's the new Jim Jones. I used to know this nigga right here
Chinese nigga Carlisle was engineering for camp. Okay. I
Was like when you croaked you that's a new Carlisle ain't nowhere to be able to do
We able to do studio sessions on the laptop
Niggas do it all the time. I'm like, yeah, give it, you're right, give it. I'm good, I'm good, I'm gonna make it work.
You're right, now so he like rock and roll niggas do it all the time on this shit called the M-Box.
You go on guitar, go get the whole rig, get an M-Box, some of you, the cables.
Let me tell you what the mic to get and all that.
He was like, and I'm gonna show you how to do it.
So I got the M-Box and everything and I came back to Carla and I was like, I got everything.
So I was like, all right, so I'm going to show you how to actually record and shit like
that. So he showed me on, in the studio, how to actually record it. When I go on the road,
I can take the inbox with me and shit like that. I remember in LA when LA had the All
Star, what's it called? All Star Game in in LA everybody was that years ago what all
star game was that in LA with all the rappers was that it was I was in this
hotel and busted in the mall came upstairs and I'm bleeding socks over
when I came back to New York and I was showing Damon and Dame had canceled
everybody from Rockefeller studio sessions
and made everybody buy M-Box and shit like that.
And that's how that whole M-Box shit went from me showing Dame to him showing Rockefeller
to everybody now with them studios in their house.
They got that shit from me and shit like that.
So when I learned how to record from Carlisle and shit like that
and then Cam started recording the album, I'm like, yo, let me just be an engineer.
He's like, yo, I'm going to let you be an engineer. If you fuck be engineer He like yo, I'm gonna let you be engineer if you fuck with my sessions up
I'm not letting you do the shit in the morning. I ain't got time to be playing with you like that. I'm a yo can't
These niggas is getting
11,000 a week nine thousand a week for just engineering you a session my nigga. I need that nine thousand
I said you got assistance in there that knew everything the engineer know I'm gonna get the bomb assistant
Whatever. I don't know I make him do
He like bet it and that's how I start getting all that studio engineering
I caught on to that early
You heard?
I like that
So
Yeah
I was on that, that was my side shit
Like cause
And I was at Rockefeller, I had a whole set at Rockefeller
That's when I start that I had a whole set of Rockefeller. That's when I started that.
I had a ride-carry and then we had the furniture.
Yeah, that's what it was.
I'm telling you, listen, I used to go to the studios,
and then I went to one studio where I really didn't work.
I just went there, and I listened to a nigga beats,
and a nigga invoiced me.
And I was like, what?
And I was like, that's kind of foul,
because I was friends with these people
so I said you know what what if I put you on though I said yo look this is my address to
my studio they can't debate this I'm on 32nd and Madison they literally filming sex in the city
right there you tell them you got a certain hours,
and put more on there.
Whatever you put, I'll bust you down.
How about that?
I'll bust you down.
I had every nigga in the motherfucking city.
He was rolling with that shit.
That shit was going to smoke.
And it was going to smoke.
The booth was going to smoke.
Everything was going to smoke.
And I had two more.
He had no furniture.
I had no furniture.
He had no idea.
And the white guy's more destined to be walking in a slum than me. How you so bad off and not having any furniture? I had no furniture. I had no furniture. You know what happened?
I had to do that off and not have any furniture.
You had to do though.
You had the windows and the master.
And I had the fake balcony.
Them niggas was doing construction.
Niggas was out there barbecuing.
You know I'm a hood nigga.
I forgot.
Niggas went and got a barbecue grill.
You had a futon. We had a futon.
You didn't have a futon.
We had a futon.
It was dangerous.
No, no, no, no.
When they do construction.
On a scaffold.
Scaffold.
Scaffold.
We barbecue around the scaffold.
Yo, the police came.
Listen, that's how it really was.
So done with you.
The police said, yo, put out the motherfucking weed or we're going to come up there.
We said, all right.
He said, but y'all ain't got to put out the barbecue.
We're coming back.
Because this shit smells so good.
Niggas went downstairs and said, we got you, y'all.
We got you, y'all. Barbecuing on the scaffold.
The police is like this.
You know them niggas ain't supposed to be doing that shit, man.
Madison.
On Madison Avenue, my nigga.
And when I realized I had cut so many.
Your boy was barbecuing on a scaffold so many killing on the scaffold
This was nine years this is almost ten years
I had this shit the rent just kept going up and they wouldn't let me buy the property
But this is the reason why I bring that up that day you came and I seen the
business man of Kim Jones like you was there and I just kept making you wait
because I was just like yo come on let's listen let's smoke and you like what you
don't want to do this drop real quick?
I'm like, yeah, but I'm like, yo, I want you on the record.
You're like, you want me on the record?
I'm like, yes, I do.
You don't remember that day?
I kept you there the whole day just to see.
And your business, that's when I seen the businessman.
Nigga, you know what?
I had everybody on that fucking.
And I made you drink every bottle, too.
I had everybody on that fucking.
You were in Cesar, bro drink every bottle to everybody let's drink
action you started with me though anybody the first person you call you
came on y'all yeah you came and I was like I made you That was the arrow you was on fire so niggas couldn't really call you.
Right, right, exactly.
What?
That's my man.
I'm calling all these white men.
Absolutely.
No, but you was the guy on the street for the scissor herb and then the scissor
herb blew and I knew your business frame.
I knew it was a different person that it birthed.
Was the business mind came from scissor or you already knew?
No, I just already knew.
I already knew.
I already knew.
Any of those opportunities that we was trying to get, I already was trying to capitalize
on.
We didn't have no management and shit, but I used to see everybody capitalize.
And I'm like, man, can we get a snatch?
Everything we can snatch.
That was the one thing that we never had was like proper management or
Representation.
Representation or an OG above us that
tell us what the proper thing to do.
By the time we got to Rockefeller,
we was already full-blown crazy.
You dig?
Mm-hmm.
You dig?
Like that niggas, what niggas don't know is like,
okay, Cam, we signed the deal,
lost the deal,
was in limbo
for like a year and a half.
That year and a half
was a treacherous year and a half.
Like, I seen Cam
bust a lot of moves.
Like, I respect him
for what he did
to keep the food on the table
so one time,
he got back
to getting the deal.
Our mentality
was a hustler's mentality.
You dig?
Like, we both
were together, but we was on separate ways to support what we had to do? Like, we both were together,
but we was on
separate ways
to support
what we had to do.
Like,
I was in the Bronx
hustling in camp
was Boston Moves.
And that built
the character
to what made
Dippin' Mets
and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
It just,
but like I said,
man,
hip hop is a motherfucker,
man.
Without this shit,
we wouldn't be here,
my nigga.
Lord knows where
we would be,
my nigga. Because I know we both was in a lot of devilish shit at a young age.
That's the scary shit.
To be here today.
You dig? Chillin with you, smokin with you.
You gotta celebrate life.
Everybody around the world know who we are.
You couldn't dream of this shit.
We wanted to be hustlers and drug dealers
because they was the most famous niggas in the dope.
We knew it shit like that.
I've by far been blue past all the biggest hustlers
they talked about in my hood.
Had more cars than them.
More jewelry than them.
You understand what I'm saying?
Just so you know, the other day, I'm sorry to cut you off.
I'm really sorry to cut you off. We're really sorry to cut you off.
But the other day we worked on another idea that I wanted to do.
And like,
we are kind of like the outpost of our era.
No,
we are.
Hip hop was the new hip hop is the new crap.
We went from really having to sell crack to making millions.
What all the hustlers wanted.
Like, they sold crack not because they had to, because that was the way they could make a million dollars.
Remember, a million dollars was all niggas wanted back in the day.
Niggas didn't know 30 million, 192 million, and all that type of shit.
Niggas was like, a million?
What?
They got a million?
That's the end all, be all. Nig nigga? That's what the hustlers one the niggas you did I mean
Been reached out gold We got this. We got this. We got to relax. I got to just say this.
I know people have seen The Wire.
I know people have seen Empire.
They ain't seen this.
They ain't seen the yalla yalla.
They got a yalla on the yalla yalla. We're small. You're reading between the lines.
But it's just like, nigga, we come from an era where it was one foot in and one foot out.
All the time.
We really blessed to be here.
Yeah.
We were superstars that were still stuck in the realm of being in the street with our niggas.
Because we loved and the love that we had for our niggas was the most important thing to us.
It ain't like how it goes now.
Like, nigga, that era was a special more fucking era.
Because we didn't have to be here, nigga.
Niggas was getting trapped.
Niggas was going to jail.
Niggas was...
You heard?
Like, nigga.
So anytime you need to look at yourself.
Like, I always sit there and when I be like,
all right, what's the next move?
This shit ain't going the way I want to.
But you're stuck with it.
You walk through the airport and somebody go crazy or I go back to the hood just to smoke a couple of blunts to get my rhyme right.
And niggas look like they've seen Jesus or some shit.
Like, you be like, nigga.
What's going on, nigga?
You did some shit that niggas couldn't fathom, but we so regular in what we do that we don't think of it like that.
We gotta finish that.
Please don't.
As men.
No, no, as men.
We don't have time for this bullshit.
Yeah, yeah, it was half full.
No, baby, it was beyond.
We gotta finish that.
Where am I dropping you off?
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
You know this is bad for you. I know, that's what I said. Where am I dropping you off? Woah, woah, woah.
I know, that's what I said. Where am I dropping you off?
No, this is herbal. This is herbal.
I told you we should go to Club Liv
and couple it up.
Because the Gucci man and his girl is dead.
We might as well just go there and be like
we couplin' it up, motherfuckers.
Do you know them? I've never met a Gucci man in my life.
No?
I've never met a Gucci man. I'm just couple it up
What's up? They gonna be coming to me as couples
He's a special
Because I'm a dyslexic special education person. No, he's just like y'all and beyond.
He means it. He did like you. He's so nice.
When I see him there the way he came home and operating and getting into that bag
and becoming more of a business man that's just the dopest shit I like to see because it's just a reflection of
hustling. Y'all, I'd I. See we didn't do I'd I with him the whole time.
Fuck y'all drinking that roots, that Y'all, ah-da. See, we didn't do ah-da with him the whole time. Fuck y'all drinking that roots.
That's roots water.
Yo, yo, look at EFN.
I ain't gonna fall.
You bossed up today.
You got the big shots every time.
Every time.
Every time.
I said, I hope he got two waiting for him.
Well, he over there thinking about it.
He didn't say too much.
He didn't say too much today.
You go home by yourself.
You have a hole in your mattress.
I ain't need to say too much today.
Y'all friends, man.
I'm gonna let y'all talk man.
Hold up.
What happened? I gotta relax.
You gotta relax. You're just a group born chef right now.
I can tell. You gotta relax.
You ain't got cream cheese though. No I don't have cream cheese.
Okay, okay.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
That shit is crazy, blog.
That is Sunny D.V. Cheese.
Did you drink it? Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Why?
Better because...
Look, we're not gonna pop that big boy.
No, please don't.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Unless, unless, unless...
No, we gonna save that for when we do it real big.
That's right.
Okay?
Should've bought him some Haitian lobster, man.
So, is...
I have somebody teaching me how to cook Haitian food tomorrow.
Half the youngsters don't even know about anything that goes on in the 90s.
You realize that, right?
I know, but you know...
There's nothing concerning though, baby.
It's a pivotal...
But that's what the show's doing for them.
You know...
That's where it all comes from, but...
And that's the good thing.
How many people really...
And even in early 2000s.
But you know, that's the good thing we do about this show, right?
We salute our legends, right? Like like i don't want to get in
to anybody i don't get hit people and we gossip we just sit there we have fun we shoot our legends
and there's so many fans who come up to me and they be like yo i didn't know who this person
was when they come on this show and it's crazy because i'll be wanting to snuff them like you
didn't know who. Who can't click? But you can. But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can.
But you can. But you can. But you put me on the boot, can't click.
And I just like, whoa, whoa, hold on, you hold on to my bags.
What the fuck did this nigga just say?
Like, I'm the guy who put you on?
And you didn't know?
Like, you didn't know?
And he's like, but then he was like, he was like 24.
And you can't get mad at that.
And then he looked, and he and he said look I downloaded everything And I looked and it was like as much as I hated him for not knowing
Yeah, I loved him for going and pursuing it and then I just kept talking to him
You know, I smoke cigarettes and shit
And then I was like
He said but look I didn't know none of these niggas. And he put everybody that was on Drink Champs.
And he showed me their albums.
Wow.
And I was like, oh, shit, that was ill.
And it's like, it's not his fault.
He wasn't born.
It's like Ali.
He defended because he was.
I love Ali.
Blame his father.
I love Muhammad Ali.
But I'll tell you, Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer of all times to me
because I got to witness all his fights as a person who saw
The Sun I didn't see all Ali fights
So when I look at it in this in black and white y'all I'm be honest. My TV is HD
But what I'm saying I'm just saying it's not the same to me because I wasn't there.
I didn't live in that era.
He's an asshole.
I'm living with Floyd.
I'm saying, I go to the same Gucci store that Floyd go to and he's buying some shit that I don't even look at that section.
Nah.
Nah, y'all.
I gotta relax.
That's not what I need.
Get out of my house.
I ain't coming for it.
What the fuck buggin' for?
What some banger like that think that it's a lie?
Who that niggas get rolling like that?
I ain't fucking with that.
Say the niggas die, say the niggas gonna give me caviar now.
I walk into a Gucci store.

And Cartier too.
You niggas get champagne, that's what you niggas get.
Cartier, Cartier. Cartier, Cartier too. You niggas get champagne. That's what you niggas get. Cartier. Cartier. Cartier take care of you.
They lay it out.
Oh, Cartier lay it out.
He knows.

We had caviar.
You know who they got caviar at?

Mykonos, Greece.
Greece, oh that's beautiful.
I've never been there, I wanna go there.
They floss on us, baby.
No, no, no, I wasn't trying to be funny.
That's that drink at the night.
All the cupboards.
Oh, that's all white.

Okay, sorry. You just shut us down. We're, we're. She didn't even say Greece. Damn! Damn, Chris, you got it! Damn! This was to warm it up!
Damn, you just shut us down!
She didn't even say Greece. That's how you know she's rich.
Look, look, look. She moved to Greece.
She said, what'd you say?
Mykonos. Mykonos.
Let's raise your thoughts to Mykonos!
That's some rich chick right there. Mykonos.
I thought Santorini was the shit in Greece.
There's another one?
There's another one on us.
Santorini is like a couple of...
She be putting me on a wild shit for a while.
I don't give a fuck about anything.
I don't know about shit. I tag along, whatever. I'll pull up. That's exactly.
I've been to Paris 13,000 times.
And I just was like, I'm here for the bag.
And then my wife came to me to Paris and was like, we're going to go get a baguette.
Absolutely.
I love you for that.
Absolutely.
And I was like, what?
A baguette? What kind of weed is that?
No, that is bread.
I know.
And then, yo, my wife showed me culture.
I'm going to be honest.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I was out there.
I didn't appreciate Paris.
I didn't appreciate Europe.
I didn't appreciate that culture, the art, all that shit.
And my wife, she made me be a Taurus.
So, I actually, aww.
I got sentimental, y'all.
It's an a blonde moment.
No, I don't know.
I'm sorry.
No disrespect.
A lot of that.
Okay.
So you're not a cancer now?
You're a tourist?
I am, my man.
Got a tourist smoke.
So how about you?
Have you ever used to go to the towns and just be there just you know just perform you ain't really appreciate it
No, like we've been everywhere. We went to Georgia
Russia money
No English money, and they'll kill you
Yeah, I wouldn't
Everywhere no see what a father Russian you think about that shit niggas been everywhere and don't see nowhere. Fowler Russians? You think about that shit?
Niggas been everywhere and ain't seen nowhere, nigga.
What is happening?
We pull up to the hotel, go to the club, and leave.
You're right.
You're right, baby.
And then we stop.
I'm like, yeah, what?
I got the passports, too.
I've been in Nigeria, nigga.
Nigga don't see nothing.
Yeah. That's how my wife fixed my life. Like, I ain't gonna Nigeria, nigga. Nigga don't see nothing. Yeah.
Yeah, that's what my wife fixed my life.
Like, I ain't going to lie.
Everything, I've been everywhere around the world
then when I met my wife, she was like, what?
You going where?
I was like, I'm going to Paris.
It's nothing.
Because you didn't do nothing.
I said, I fuck with my African nigga ETN.
He cool.
He got guns and shit
He's no friends and he got rocks
Why do we have to know these people? Why? Yeah, we gotta start knowing people in other places. I'm talking like this.
Yeah, we don't need that.
I don't want guns everywhere.
I grew out of that.
You hear my new record, Uno Más?
I want to go to the other people.
Jack, I want to ask you, what's the craziest story you know?
A crazy story with Stack Buggles.
With Stack Buggles?
Like your crazy or your most memorable moment.
Because I remember I was watching Day In The Life of Y'all
on tour, y'all in the rooms,.
The craziest?
These two are your favorite rappers.
And Twin, Twin, come over here.
You ask the next question.
Stack, Stack is special, man.
This is Star Wars, Twin. man. This is Star Wars.
No, this is Star Wars.
He's the strongest.
He's the strongest.
And that's true.
You know the time of the game is every day.
We need to do that next individual.
Come on, you got to relax.
Stax is a special individual.
He's like, to this day, like besides,
and my favorite rapper, Stax has always been like,
so you got Cam, you got Jay, and then you got like Stax,
and then you got Pac, and you know what I mean?
Like he in there with them,
like he was just always special and shit.
But he just was one of the most funniest niggas I knew.
Like I remember we was in Miami. But he just was one of the most funniest niggas I knew.
I remember we was in Miami.
I think it was the same time we did that shit.
And there was these two twin girls that Stax was trying to get,
and he fell asleep on them.
Oh, shit.
And we told him.
Like he was going back to the room with both the twins and shit like that he fell asleep
And we saw his ass up so crazy the day they like geez you fell asleep on twins
Yes, that is stacked over now to what he was he. He's one out of so many stories in this world.
He's been cheated.
He's just like I said.
You know what I mean?
He was a great one though, man.
I haven't met so many people who are talented in stacks and shit like that.
RIP to stacks, man.
You fucking Queens, nigga. I see. RIP to Stacks, man. They just.
You fuck with Queens, nigga.
I see you.
You are a part of Queens, brother.
No, no, it's just too much.
You been fucked with a lot of Queens, niggas.
Man, you going to spill my dick.
Can you hear him?
Can you hear him?
Yo, Jim, man, like, bro, like, the thing
is when you listen to music and you
have a memory in your life, that shit
that's when it means something to you.
So I was 11, 06, and then a product of my environment came out with my nigga.
And I used to be in school with my uncles, my cousins, everybody listening to it.
And that shit painted a picture.
And I was like, the one thing that niggas ain't working son, that nigga's just hustling
my nigga. And I was like, one thing, you niggas ain't working, son. You niggas is hustling, you niggas.
So Jim Jones made me realize my family's was cop out shit,
like real, like, yo, like everything you said in the music,
my uncle was moving batteries, like, from beamers to like,
you know, all the moves flying from the hills.
That shit was dope, man.
So and then the Miami came out
I'm riding in the beat room with my cousin and he's listening to what Trey Songz just
had just came out so I shake it you know that my hair stands up and then and then my other
question was like and then when Ghost of Rich Porter came out I was just like damn dog I felt
like you locked yourself in my and like you just went in like you I feel like you poured your heart out to that.
This is a real thing.
I feel like that shit was like an album just poof.
So I was like yo Ghost of Rich Porto I was like what part of your career like what was
in your mind when you did that?
My nigga asked you 1900 questions.
You asked him once.
You asked him once.
You better ask him them all.
I don't even know how you're supposed to take this.
So Ghost of Rich Porto is probably the most popular song in the world.
I don't even know how you're supposed to take this.
So, Ghost of Rich Porter was probably one of my favorite bodies of work that I've done.
Besides, on my way to church, a poem.
That's my favorite one. This was a different time so I've, you know me, I've always rubbed shoulders with a bunch
of hustlers and a bunch of drug lords and the people that you wouldn't want to glamorize
but these are some of the most compelling people that I've been around and shit like
that. You gotta relax. You ain't a big boy. Come on. These are some of the most compelling compelling people that I've been around and shit like that Everybody here is gonna take a risk. I'm gonna tell you why. You gotta relax. I'm gonna tell you why.
OK, great.
I'm gonna tell you why we're gonna pop this.
There's no reason why we're gonna pop this.
First off, I did get the chance to celebrate my birthday
in Miami.
OK, so you with family, so let's fucking go.
And I never got a chance to bust this with a guest.
He got one.
He got one already.
Listen, with any guest, we've always dreamed of big ones out, but we haven't busted, right?
Yeah, he left.
You did.
Puff?
50?
No, because 50 ain't drink.
He only drink effing.
So if we, no, we bust that after the 50 episode.
You're absolutely correct.
No, no, you're absolutely correct.
After 50 left, we said, oh, I couldn't
believe I could get 50.
So then I said, yo, put the big ones on ice.
And then we popped that.
You're right.
Look at my wife's own point.
God damn.
See, I'm not part of it.
I remember seeing 50 on his first album
when he was signing the song.
He asked you 1,900 questions.
Yeah.
He got you.
They both got it.
Because I really, I feel like, yeah.
Ghost of Rich Porter.
No, no, I was saying that Ghost of Rich Porter is one of my favorite bodies of work because
at that time, I liked it.
I was rubbing shoulders with a lot of hustlers and drug lords and killers and all them type of people and shit like that.
I was about to say like that, you're rubbing shoulders mean I was just next to me.
I understand, I'm just making sure that they know.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
So it was just a reflection of things that I was going through at that time, but this... These people that I was connected to is a story that all the rappers...
You know what I'm saying? You know what I mean?
And glamorize and want to be like and shit like that.
And they never get the proper just do as far as they can from the street and shit like that.
Every time I put an album out or put a body of work out, it's pretty much in the mind frame or what I've from the street and shit like that. Every time I put an album out or put a body of work out,
it's pretty much in the mind frame
or what I've just been through and shit like that.
I know music has pretty much been a reflection of life
since I've been doing it and shit like that.
You know what I mean?
You get a hit, you get a hit,
but the music pretty much tells the story of where I'm at.
And I always talk about what I've seen,
things that's going on as far as political politics, as far as shit that goes on in the hood, that shit that people
don't want to talk about, you know what I mean?
So when I see people like you that tell me how you're feeling and shit like that, it
always gives me that real sure of feeling to make sure I go back in the booth and tell a proper story and shit like that
Cause, when music is two types of raps
There's niggas that's talented at doing rap
And there's niggas that's reporting the story
And it needs to be told, you need to be told apart and shit like that
You know what I mean?
I never was the most talented shit but as we doing music for so long
I become kinda dope with my flow and shit like that I never was the most talented shit, but as we doing music for so long, I've become kind
of dope with my flow and shit like that, you know what I mean?
But I still tell the stories the same way and shit like that every day, but that's always
been my kind of niche is telling that story that everybody else kind of doesn't tell.
We always know about the get money side,
the cars, the bitches and shit like that,
but where I'm from, I've been bailing niggas out,
paying for funerals, waiting niggas to come home.
Like, it ain't really been all a glory story.
Like, all the niggas that I fuck with
are not in my position.
They still living real life and gotta do, I'm not saying we not living real life, but they still live in real life and gotta do I'm
not saying I really live in real life but they in the midst of what they gotta
do to what they gotta do to live and support their family and shit like that
a lot of that comes with consequences and shit like that so I always try to
reflect that in my music you know I may not go platinum all the time but there's
people like you that remind me.
This nigga came and slapped my back one day
next at the sandbar like yo I saw them there one time and then I revolt I saw
him to me one time before my accident Chrissy I want to blow this up I wanted
to Chris's she was at the bar I remember, Chrissy, I don't want to blow this up. I went up to Chrissy, she was at the bar.
I don't know if you remember.
You were at the bar, I don't want to blow up this spot.
And I was like, yo, I told Jim Jones
I wanted to go to the drink shop, it was 20.
And I was like, yo, if Slime finds out, he's gonna kill me.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I knew I had to do that, you know?
But I was just like, yo, I'm gonna, you know, I'm fucking.
But I think he love you, I think he came.
You know what I'm saying? Yes, man. I seen him one day, he was like, yo, gonna, you know. I love you, I think it came.
You know what I mean?
I seen me one day, he was like, yo, yo, Slum.
I was like, what's up?
Bam, nigga hit me in my back.
I said, I met Jim Jones.
I said, damn, I got this nigga phone number.
You gotta relate.
I still be surprised when niggas be like,
see me even crying, they be like, oh.
I be like, yeah you kind of get like
I lose every like fair fair because I know they don't focus on that. It's all right. It should happen. Don't be forgetting I'm famous. Don't worry about it. I just be forgetting.
That's what it is from the core.
I ain't no love it hip hop fan.
I'm from the core.
You know what I'm saying?
Talk that shit, man.
You got the boys and they can be talking to James.
I'm like, oh, you and Chrissy still together?
Like, nigga, what the fuck up?
My nigga, like, he's an all up nigga.
Tell me about it.
He's just a core fan.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I go to the airport.
They be like, oh, that's Chrissy, man.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
I go to the airport. They be like,'m saying? I go through that everyday. I be in the airport.
They be like, oh that's Chrissy man.
Yeah!
I don't know what you think of that.
You think of that as bitch?
You know Chrissy man.
You know what I'm saying?
Recognize him.
My man.
Like yo, what any of the day I don't go through that and somebody call me black?
Oh that's Chrissy man.
Imagine what Jay go through.
They be like.
What?
You know they fuck him.
How you doing Beyonce, I'm saying?
Exactly.
Mr. Nose.
You gotta relax.
It's okay.
You're not so.
It's okay.

Imagine Kanye.

They call that nigga Kanye West Kardashian.
The power of production.
I always tell people it's like the difference between.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. That's my analogy with the team. That's my analogy with the team. You just said the power of production.
The power of production.
I always tell people it's like the difference between football and basketball.
You never know who the football players is because they always have their helmet on.
You know who all the basketball players are.
When you're on television, you know who everybody is.
When you do music, you only hear who they are.
You gotta find who they are when you go to the internet and like that chrissy been on television a quarter of the time i've been in
this game and she's just as famous as i am you did so when you talk about production
that's the power of production of a you know you're in the j. Joel. Let me know you for being Chrissy husband
People love the authenticity man is being authentic man when you yourself talk, I feel like everything just, you put your heart to everything, shit just plays out.

I got cook Columbia water in here. I don't know what your childhood has done to you, nigga. I Promise
This is
Breaking down for you. Let me break it down for you
Give me a moment. Hold on. Everybody, everybody.
I need everybody.
One moment.
Got one thing.
Let me tell you exactly what you at.
Let me tell you exactly what you did.
Back in the days, they gave sauce mics.
They gave you four mics.
They gave you five mics.
They didn't give me no mics.
OK.
Oh.
Fucking sauce. Wow. They gave't give me no mics. Okay. Fucking sucks.
We'll talk about it
right now.
We gave me a collar
and gave me
no mics.
Okay,
listen.
Just listen.
Just listen.
Right now,
where you at right now,
I can't believe
that we upgraded
this generation.
We upgraded this.
For some reason,
these 16s
to 24s
are the people
that's coming here
and representing for Dream Champs.
There's no podcast that ever made it to television.
This right here is on Revolt TV.
I don't know if people got Revolt.
People care about Revolt.
But I'm telling you, that's a black-owned tele-
How about that?
Televibes station.
And we fucking behind it.
We got Serap. a vibe station and we fucking behind it we got sarat and the thing about it is the only other
podcast that ever made it to television that i know about is a ricky gervais show oh shit which
is on hbo and then it's the his and hers podcast we made it to espn so as a music podcast this is
the only other podcast that made it to fucking television.
And the thing about that is
I made with my
fucking good friend, a person I
look up to, his name was Lior
Combs, and he said to me, he looked at me, he said,
you know why your thing is winning?
I said,
I said, no said no Lior
because you celebrate his vibe
and you don't do gossip
and I said
Lior is the illest nigga
to be to walk on his face
yes he is
he is who did it he will mind fuck you
in a second
I wasn't in the the mind his work on it no no i'm saying
his work his ethic is crazy like he did the the the things he would tell you to make you get on
your job is retarded my like like like i i i you know i've been in in the in the building
with these type of these is the illest everiggas is the illest niggas ever.
You dig?
Those are the people
that taught me to be
savage,
mind-stating,
business.
The biggest savages
in business there is.
And there's nothing wrong
with being a savage
in business.
No, there's nothing.
There's nothing wrong with it.
You just got to understand it.
I remember one day,
I'm fucking up
because I'm making it
about me.
I don't want to make it
about me.
But one day, I seen Chris Lighty do a deal with Michael Ovitz, right?
And the deal was just some savage, some brutal shit.
And then that day, I went to the Bronx to see one of the homies.
And a nigga got shot for $7 in a dice game.
Meanwhile, this nigga, this raw, this thing for $70 million.
And that was the day I was just like, you would think you want to stop being in the hood because it's your own hood.
I'm in the Bronx.
And I was like, damn.
I said, I just had a meeting with Michael Ovitz and Chris Lighty.
They wanted to come to me, like, yo, we want you to promote our company.
And I'm a fucking young idiot.
So I'm like, yeah, I'm in.
But really, I don't have nothing.
I don't know what the fuck are they talking about.
I'm high and shit.
I can't even be in the meeting.
Yeah, whatever you want to do.
Yeah, definitely.
And then I can't even be the man. Yeah, whatever you want to do. Yeah, definitely. And then I can't even say talk to him
because that is the person that I talk to.
It's Chris Lighty.
Yeah, so I'm like,
just do what you got to do, Chris,
and I leave.
I had no idea where Michael Ogut is.
That's the guy who sold Mickey Mouse.
But listen,
when I think about shit shit when I be here
back in the day but you're the game is to be sold I told I didn't know what
that shit meant I know what they said I said all the time and I know what that
shit meant to like right now you heard like right now and they got imagine you wouldn't know what you knew now a dead twit we've signed a deal
I
Definitely did yes
I had to like two times maybe three
Something like that. Yes
Youth is wasted on the young.
I got it together.
And I was like, oh, I knew I had to start moving with y'all.
And that's the reason why, like, Drink Champs kind of works.
Because I just stay cool with everybody.
I never complain.
I never complain when I was down.
And I ain't brag when I was up.
Absolutely.
So I just stay the same.
So now all these people that I took care of, they'll say, you come smoke a blunt with me. These niggas is now Sean Peckhouse. These
niggas is now Sam Kresko. These niggas is now Mike Kaisers. These niggas, let me keep
going. They now Julie Greenwald. They now Randy Akers. They now motherfucking, uh, uh,
uh, uh, huh? Mr. Lee, you gotta uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, And he old school Puerto Rican with a tail. He got a tail. My father had a tail. Not a DA, but a real tail?
No, a real tail.
A real tail, yeah.
He played handball all day.
I ain't handball?
He's serious.
He played handball all day.
He's serious about his tail.
All right, sorry.
My pops.
And he got earrings.
He got a picture of a naked woman on his body.
It's not.
It's not.
I'm left.
I'm left.
I'm left.
It's not of my mother.
The naked woman's not of my mother.
But it's just how I was raised.
I'm just throwing it out there.
It's 100%.
And it's real simple.
And I'm nice in handball too.
Just in case anybody wanna throw that out there.
That's funny, the only thing you'll beat me in is handball.
I'm about to ask for handball. Jim, Jim thing that's going to beat me is handball. I'm going to bust your ass with handball.
Jim, Jim, I'm trying to beat you in something.
Very soon.
You can't play basketball with me.
No, no, listen.
Chill, chill, baby.
You can't play.
You can't play.
They jump me in basketball.
Them niggas, them niggas.
Play the thing right now.
I'm going to fuck him up with his leg hurt.
With his leg hurt?
I can't do that because I can't claim that win.
Because I can't claim that.
Because he's going to be like, yo, you see how I walked in there?
I'm going to beat you.
I'm going to beat you.
I'm going to beat you.
I'm going to beat you. I'm going to beat you. I'm going to beat you? I can't do that, because I can't claim that win.
Because I can't claim that.
Because he's going to be like, yo, you see how I walked in here, y'all?
It's on tape and everything.
I can't really take that win.
I'm a person with honor.
I'm going to let him get good.
I'm glad I got to do this, man.
You know, I was
holding reserves about this shit
for a long time.
Let's just be honest, you thought I was gonna bring up
some type of nigga.
Yo, Jim, let me just tell you something.
I got a lot of negative shit there.
Nigga see me, that's all I need.
Like the negative outshines the positive.
So that's where it goes.
And then this goes back to what I was asking you.
Like yo, where you learn that shit from?
So, when Paul Malek, so when me and Cam got to, we didn't have that two-list.
We didn't have no, it was me and Cam in my 5-H apartment.
We went on what we thought was shit.
Yeah, nobody was leaving.
But listen, the funny thing about this game
that I tell people
about this all the time,
when you hot,
you could kick a nigga
in the ass, literally.
He'd be like,
ooh, I like it,
kick me again.
Right.
You did?
Right.
And do whatever else
you need.
Mm.
Soon as that sizzle go down,
them niggas that kick you
in the ass
turn into them people that you was just talking about.
Right.
You heard?
Mm-hmm.
And they be like, oh, did you just kick me in my ass the other day when you was hot, nigga?
Right.
That's why you got to treat everyone.
You understand?
Right.
This is why you got to treat the gender the same way you treat.
Mm-hmm.
And this is the reason why.
Let me just interrupt you for one second, Jim Jones.
Let me tell you something, my brother.
We love
you over here at Drink Champs.
We want you to know that you're loved.
We want you to know that this
generation, whether it be new,
old, in between,
across the back, from the left
shoulder, everybody, they know what
you did. And if they, they know what you did.
And if they don't know what you did,
that's what we're going to emphasize right here
on this episode of Drink Champs,
to make sure that these people know and they appreciate
that everything you contributed to hip hop
has not been unrecognized.
Nah, I mean, shit.
Let me preach.
That's my Jesse Jackson moment.
That's my Jesse Jackson moment. That's my Jesse Jackson moment.
Don't you ever think that anything you ever did,
that's why, you know, I haven't, I don't know,
we could rewind the interview.
I haven't really brung up, like, you know,
you and Cam's relationship because at the end of the day,
I just want that to be fixed. I don't
give a fuck which way it happens.
You know what I'm saying? And you my brother,
I know exactly who you is. I know exactly
who that nigga is. And let me
tell you something. I love both of y'all
equally. And at the end
of the day, there's probably only two crews
that I could ever really be like,
I've seen them from the day they developed it.
That's motherfucking Terror Squad and that's motherfucking dip set like I knew y'all
even before y'all was diplomats so whichever way we can fix it or y'all fix
it and I only want to emphasize on that because today is about you I wanted to
be focused on you and your lady but whatever way you fix it and even if it can't be fixed for people to move in the same generation as a positive way I'm
with that too because I would have never ever think that I could sit here and ask
you just so when you and you and cam you don't say I'm like I would have never
because I seen y'all from the beginning y'all look like I'm like this is like
fuck the cameras this is me and you talking for I seen y'all from the beginning y'all look like I'm like this is like fuck the cameras
This is me and you talking for real like y'all was brother. Yeah, yeah our brothers not let me say that y'all are brothers
So I want you to fix it. You don't gotta answer this
I don't even say that I don't we never think is as difficult as people see it and shit like that
You know I mean, okay sit down
always thinking about life
like I talk to Chrissy
about shit all the time
and shit like that
and I try to analyze it
as best as I can
and shit like that.
Like,
we was young
and we was thick as thieves
and we was running like thieves
doing whatever we could
to get a dollar
and better ourselves.
But,
a kingdom is never ran
by two men
you understand
what I'm saying
yep
you
you understand
what I'm saying
never two at a time
you dig
and not saying
that everybody
can have their own kingdom
but that's what it
grows into
and shit like that
you weren't thinking Steve's until you get the money,
and then we all fall in line or fall in love,
and you go into something deeper and shit like that.
Not meaning that you can't have alliances,
but when you have two brothers that know each other like they know each other,
that is your strength and your weakness all in one.
Right.
You heard me?
You become so accustomed to each other.
It's a relationship that's
damn near like a marriage.
So when you separate that,
there's a lot of animosity
and there's a lot of pride
and there's a lot of things going on with that.
And that's both sides.
It's not just one-sided and shit like that.
That's my nigga for life,
no matter what goes on.
We struggled together.
We ate chicken sandwiches for a dollar together we took jets and we ate we ate the most expensive
of dinners and we thought philippe charles was everything like you couldn't tell a shit like you
did like i could not credit cam for everything that i'm doing like it started with him and not
saying that i wasn't there but it started with his talent
to get us to where we had to go today.
And I've never discredited him for that
in my life because
I wouldn't be here.
But along with that,
I was smart enough to know
how talented he was.
And if I hold him down and turn,
I'll have my own time to shine.
How about that?
He did.
And that's how it was.
I always came along and he got his own king.
Kim came along he got his own king. Jones came along he got his own kingdom and it just
hurts me to know that we're not smart enough to know that if we build a line between these three
kingdoms which everybody loves us for we could have all the riches in the world and shit like that. So, you know, that always functioned for me,
but at the most part, I know that
my niggas is doing good.
We done did everything in the world
that people could possibly think of.
When I see these young niggas right now,
and they be like,
I'm on the Bentley, I'm doing a new Patek.
We did that 10 times over, nigga.
We used to buy them sh just to match the outfit.
Literally.
My line?
I was there.
When Jacobs was out and niggas was getting the red and white Jacobs, the yellow and white Jacobs. I was in the jeweler with y'all.
A hundred percent.
This is what I'm trying to say.
You understand what I'm saying?
I understand what my nigga's saying.
I was actually there.
What type of life we came from and the type of life we live in, that's what I said.
I always count my blessings and I think about, nigga, I really came from the projects of Harlem.
I grew up in the Bronx.
I lived that life.
I really came from the projects of Harlem to end up all the way around the world with niggas I grew up and niggas I adored.
And every moment I was with them, there was nothing that I wouldn't do for them. You understand what I'm saying? It's not like
now, like you couldn't be nowhere in front of one of my niggas even if I didn't agree
with them, that you're not going to do that to me. You did, like, you still won't get
reprimanded to me the same way I would have reprimanded you if they was with me. My differences
with them is personal differences, not for everybody
to understand,
but we brothers
and shit like that,
the same like you shit
you go with Capone
is real shit
that niggas
done been through,
like,
and this is 20 years of it.
I had an argument
with Capone yesterday.
But this is,
this is 20 years of it,
like,
I spoke to Kim
a couple days ago,
he hit me,
like,
yo,
what's up,
like,
but it don't stop,
like,
you dig it,
and it's not like, you see a nigga call you and it's not like you hate it
nigga so you're not gonna pick up the phone like you're gonna pick up the
phone like what happened you heard you did you know something but it's like
it's much deeper than people think but it's 20 years nigga I know camp since I
was literally 13 years of age
when he was the nicest nigga in basketball
battling my cousin Dave on the east side and shit like that.
Like I've known him forever.
You know what I'm saying?
We all get grown at some point and shit like that.
When you get grown you go through differences.
You can't all be going, agree on one thing.
I wish it was different and shit like that.
But one thing I learned from him was a lot of business.
That was one of the illest niggas I could know
that does business and even my time right now
when I do business, I always think about what he might do
cause he's so vicious with the paperwork.
He never did nothing that I knew
that didn't come with paperwork.
That was all, the only thing that I learned from him,
like the most important thing I learned from him
that I struggle with now because I,
a hood nigga that fuck with so many hood niggas, like, nigga, I got you,
nigga, we doing this, that's what you said, that's what we doing, that's what we doing,
but that don't work all the time, and he was the master at that, that's why when they be
suing everybody in the game because his paperwork was right, you dig it, niggas, man, oh, you're
sucking and all that, but that's what the game is about, when the white people do it,
it's justified, right, but we doing doing business we're not selling crack no more
we in the game there's certain things that I always learn from and I always
think about like that niggas ill for that shit but shit we here now whatever
the tip of us continue seeing of our album and all that we made history
super history Absolutely. Super hip. That's the most important part for me.
The history of what we did to be allowed to be in hip hop, the same way you made history.
There was a time in this game where we changed.
Our history is almost right next to each other.
It's 100% next to each other.
It's neck and neck.
Absolutely.
We all kids from New York that came from nothing.
We knew each other since we were teenagers.
Now we're in two decades later and shit like that. We got kids. We knew each other some teenagers nigga now in
Two decades later shit like that. We got kids
We really came up from the same from the same path I guess there's a whole different the same path. It's a whole different club for me.
That's a whole different story.
But you know, the Diplomats, I love the Diplomats, man.
That was something that I worked hard and daily on, my nigga.
Like, when Cam said, I'm gonna get you up out of Firebase,
you did it.
We did everything we dreamed of, my nigga.
So I could never be mad at the dream, my nigga.
Like, we here, we in Miami, we get to go live,
we get to pop bottles, our ladies get to get what they want.
Like, nigga, you dig?
I had roaches in the house when you put the lights on and shit like that.
You dig? You gotta think about that.
Got any more questions, really?
No, nobody ask him another one.
I want to know how y'all got the name Diplomat and what made y'all pick the bird?
Because they was all three birds.
Diplomat came from Massapeed.
He had the record I'ma Know A Limit, Soulja, I Thought I Told Ya, Know A Limit.
And this one, Mase was hot and me and Cam was doing, hype man for Mase.
Mase had us doing dance moves and shit like that.
He was like, you know we had practice, I'd be on one speaker, Cam be on the other speaker.
We'd be like, yo, yo, when Mase come out, he'd be like, yo. We had practice I'll be a one-speaker kid you know I'm not gonna give a bitch a rap, but this is hard. He just did it. In the level of mechanic suits and shit like that came on one stage and one another stage.
Mase about to come out. We dancing and shit like that.
Mase come out.
That's why he was in the motherfucker.
In the sequence.
Yo, no, no, no, no.
You gotta relax. I'm gonna keep this. I
Always respected him when it came to the game. We did it like two times. He said get your bags They can fuck these niggas. We got fuck hard. Fuck it. God bless her this shit like that
But I just want you to fuck all these things they trying to fuck hard fuck it. God bless her this shit like that, but at this point
He's like fuck all these niggas they trying to play us we ain't no dancers nigga
We don't dance we out this shit, and that was like when we came and Mase started breaking it was like
It was from there she's like we out this shit fuck them niggas nigga we out we gonna blow nigga don't worry about nothing
And that's when we came back and sure enough he blew this shit like that. But like I was saying, so we was going into fucking
Jesus Christ.
Buildings with Mason, these big arenas
and that was when we shit,
me and Cam had some shit called Legacy.
That's what we was trying to be, the Harlem Legacy.
But Cam was like, yo I looked it up,
the Harlem Legacy is already taken as a trademark.
So I was thinking, so we walk in the building,
I'm like, I'm a Harlem world diplomat.
You need to get your get, Harlem world.
And then all the niggas start saying and Leo can't be gonna be a
Homeworld diplomats. He like oh
You dig and then please dig it made the logo
Take it with the producer my man six-figure digger when we did the diplomats he made he made the logo this one came
I said this is it the silk screening machine
I think it was already making t-shirts can't be worth a single
I didn't be friends that biggest that shit
I'm a dollar off the dollar back in a dollar bill the evil and we go put diplomats do it and shit like that
And they was the man I made a creek the different that shit diggin shit diggin shit sue somebody for his creativity
I
Don't know if you got paid for any of that, but Digger definitely made the diplomats look.
It's a lot more, but man, I appreciate this.
We didn't drink, well, I don't even drink like that
no more. This is why he's so
chatty-patty right now.
Chatty-patty!
Somebody gotta get punished tonight, you know?
I don't even disrespect the woman.
Listen, listen.
Somebody gotta get punished tonight.
Mama!
Jim.
Oh! There's nothing really wrong no more. Yeah, yeah, somebody got to give you guys
We are halfway fucked up we are halfway we'll get the punishment. Okay, this is this wall
We live in Miami for more than double digits, you gotta relax. Okay.
Don't put it on Miami.
Before we get out of here.
Before we get out of here.
Put it on ball.
I'm just gonna hit him.
Hold on.
Before we get out of here.
Before we get out of here, right?
I just need to get my take on it.
Your opinion on it.
Hold on.
I mean, I'll be home high and think about shit.
I'm home high right now.
This is a fucking 52 fake out.
I'm trying to get away from there.
We can get out of here.
We can get out of here.
We can get out of here. We can get out of here. We can get out of here. We can get out of here. We can get out of here. What? Hold on. I mean, I be home high and think about shit.
I'm home high right now.
This is a fucking 52 fake out.
This nigga is faking.
Alright, what's your opinion on niggas in football nailing down?
Oh, come on.
That's it.
Because if I was on the news, I'd be talking about it right now.
Oh, shit.
Very too much political for Drink Champs, but...
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
It's not that political.
What do you think about it?
I'm going to tell you my angle.
I'm going to tell you my angle.
But you can tell me yours.
That was just my intro.
Okay, that was just your intro?
Don't get fucked up.
There's more to come.
Yeah, I'm good at this.
But of course...
Hey, hey, be careful what y'all saying, man.
Yeah, exactly.
Can we not talk about this?
It's just a lot of...
See, the thing about it is, a lot of times, you know, you're going to get fucked up. But of course... Yeah, exactly! Can we not talk about that? It's just so many of them.
See the thing about it?
We gotta get deeper.
We gotta get deeper.
We gonna talk about it.
Listen, listen.
Every time a player...
A player nails...
They think it's about him disrespecting the flag.
They think it's about him disrespecting the flag.
No, it's about everybody that's fallen.
The thing ain't got nothing to do with him.
Nothing to do with the flag or the anthem.
Just specking the flag.
It's about the injustice.
Yeah, everything to do with the injustice and the people of uninnocent black people getting shot and gunned down.
That's what the protest was about.
In a country that we helped build.
Exactly.
That's the problem.
So that's what I think about the limb that's how you feel about it
Marcus Garvey shit you want to hear what I gotta say about it yeah you know what
you want to tell me anyway I'm'm going to definitely tell you. Right? So, for one, you dig?
It's crazy how everybody does shit for popularity.
Right.
Right?
Well, he kneeled by himself.
Nobody held him down.
Absolutely not.
Right?
Right.
But now the cool thing to do is Black Lives Matter and so forth and so forth.
So now the football players want to act like they're in whatever's going on cool I don't hear what nobody struggles
gonna be all that a hustle when we all got a boss and we all trying to get our
money her but every really making a conscious effort at doing a protest
right when we live cool right we all know that's what we did to the flag now
is that a protest that's
worth something because all the niggas still played and got paid and gave
nothing to the cause everybody took a meal but they got me but they still
play and they still got paid and the person who set this off
But one more thing what I was telling somebody
yesterday if
One of these NFL owners take a stab at taking that young man in and then bracing when he do cuz he is a good
football player
Gonna make all the money in the world if football is about money.
That's all I'm saying at this time.
Thank you, folks.
We can do it all on that.
Oh, that's it.
Let's make it.
Enough!
You don't got that one left?
All right, I gotta take a pee,
and then we do the photo, and then drop.
How's your hip?
But that's what, you know what it is about drink champs?
You got the big personality personality which is my husband
And then you got you you gotta relax and i've known him forever
I've known me forever
You gotta get somebody who's low-key like you and there's nothing wrong with that you gotta get nori who's you know
Always, you know, it's a trust when I got something to say I'm gonna say
it on drink champs guarantee guarantee I'm a Cuban motherfucker I got no problem talking my
shit and the good thing is that we got the artist point of view and then we got you the DJ street
team point of view you got two point of views and that's the good thing and I told Nori that I was
like you guys have a good balance you guys guys got a good partnership. So, there's nothing wrong.
Nothing wrong.
But, can you end it on a good note?
On a good note, it is.
Thank you, we had a fucking blast.
And we're celebrating love that's needed in hip hop.
