Starting point is 00:02:59 It's DJ E.F.N. And this is the military crazy war. Drink Champs. Yappy hour. Make some noise! Now, when you talk about a man who has transitioned from one place to another, when you talk about a man who's braced his whole city, when a person calls themselves Mr. Their City, they usually never accomplish that.
Starting point is 00:03:21 But when he actually accomplishes that, gets the key to the city, and then returns to Mr. Worldwide, he got records with Enrique Iglesias. I've never even been in the same room with that nigga, Enrique Iglesias. He got records with Jennifer Lopez. He got records with Aksha, Neo, and the list goes on. I think even Shakira. Shakira shakes her thing on the yacht. This man has accomplished goals
Starting point is 00:03:49 and it's crazy because I got to see it from the beginning. You got to see it from the beginning. So in case you don't understand who we saluting right now, who we showing respect to,
Starting point is 00:03:57 we are showing respect to the almighty Pip motherfucking Bull. The real, the real Mr. Worldwide. So let's, I'm going to bounce around, right? First off, Fucking I'm gonna bounce around right first of all, I got keep keep in mind what you got right now. Okay, I got you I want to say thank you For many many years, yes, no Rieger Capone day The first time I caught you was at Salvation Club on the beach. Yes, yes. But I see how you started that with Enrique Iglesias.
Starting point is 00:04:29 It's funny, because I call Enrique, you know, Enrique's black side. I call him Enrique Churches. Oh, shit. No, I didn't know that. Because Iglesias Churches. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Iglesias Churches.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Oh, yeah. Holy moly guacamole. Then you said I was never in the same room as Enrique. But then I caught that you said Jennifer Lopez, but you ain't said you was never in the same room This whole time when we said we got pitbull, you know the first thing I thought of yeah, what is he gonna wear? Yeah, you know why? When I looked at their last interviews, you were really GQ.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Oh, man, I appreciate it. Really, like, really, like, you bought that life. Like, that was silk pajamas and shit. You silk pajamas. The silk pajamas, I leave the Hugh Hefner man. He read the Paradise for real. He up there having a good time. But the way I grew up in Miami, being
Starting point is 00:05:24 one of the neighborhoods, being Little Havana, I actually lived here in Wynwood. I tell people all the time I lived in good neighborhoods, bad neighborhoods. Where did we go at one point, right? Yeah. It was Little Heron City. Okay, Heron City.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Never mind that. He's out of the world. Now it's the Art Mecca. Went from the Heron Mecca to the Art Mecca. Wow. But I used to live right up the block, and actually my brother's mural was literally half a block from here, right there, right outside of where we're having this conversation. Wow. But I used to live right up the block and actually my brother's mural was literally half a block from here, right there, right
Starting point is 00:05:45 outside of where we're having this conversation. But where I'm going with that is when I lived in Little Havana during the 80s, it was after the Mario boat lift. So what was there was Los Marielitos. And my father used to put me in the bars. Now for people that don't know, that's Scarface, when you watch Scarface. Yeah, exactly. If you watch Scarface, the beginning
Starting point is 00:06:01 Los Marielitos are coming in. My father brought over three boats during the Mario boat lift, 548 people fromface, the beginning, Los Marilitos are coming in. My father brought over three boats during the Marriott boat, lived 548 people from Cuba to the United States. And he would put me in Little Havana at the bars, something, well, not as nice as this. Because, you know, the bar was slash restaurant. I mean, you know, man. That's right, that's right.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Let's go, let's go. It's about you today. But therefore, he would put me up there. He'd make me do Jose Mati poems. Jose Mati is somebody we look up to all the Cubans do. And it was all about freedom and fighting and dying for the honor of freedom. And they would lose their fucking mind in there. That's when I figured out that words were that powerful.
Starting point is 00:06:38 I'm like five years old at the time, by the way. But the guys that would show up, though. They would be dressed nice. They would be fun. They were sharp. They were sharp. They were fun. They were sharp. They were sharp, they were nice. We say, why I betta?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Why I betta you were half. That was regular, why I betta you were half. To me that shit is hot. To me that's upgrade. Like, oh yeah, cool, cool. But these boys, they had the suits on, they treated everybody nice with respect, great sense of humor, had all the women.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Silent but dangerous. And that's where that style comes down the pipeline. I would say, when you see me like that, just know I'm looking like Miami in the 80s. Goddamn, man. We want you to know that. Now, when I Googled you, they said you sold over 60 million records?
Starting point is 00:07:22 You know, thank God. I've been very blessed, my friend. Yo, hold on, hold on. Let me just say something. I got to big you up on this. We've interviewed for four years almost every rapper, almost every athlete, everybody. And I have to say hands down, out of the most successful
Starting point is 00:07:39 people, you're probably the only one who walked in here by yourself. Oh, wow. I don't think not one who walked in here by yourself. You probably, I don't think, not one. Not one, not one. If he told me that, then I was like, maybe he's by himself, what's the security? People told me that, they was asking if it was a problem for us,
Starting point is 00:07:55 like is it cool if he goes by himself? No, it's not cool, he better bring security. Well, I mean, this is one of my old neighborhoods, even though it's a different neighborhood now, but let me tell you, I grew up at a time, I mean this one of my old neighborhoods even though this is a different neighborhood now, but Let me tell you I I grew up at a time Looking up to everything that everybody was doing on your side But he a fan and the whole crazy hood what they were doing I was man I would work hard to get on the mixtapes, but I saw everything that they were doing and
Starting point is 00:08:21 To be a Miami boy at that time when nobody really believed in Miami, and y'all know what the fuck I'm talking about. It don't get a fin, though. But you were one of the ones that showed love. Fat Joe showed love. White Clef would come down and show love, especially in this neighborhood. Right here, when you had DJ Raw. And mind you, he was a DJ, and we already know what he was involved in.
Starting point is 00:08:38 We ain't got to talk about that. You can just look it up. His name's DJ Raw. Connick, that's how it's spelled. His name ain't DJ. Yeah, His name ain't DJ Stepton. His name is DJ Swing. It's going to be a whole other way of Raw. But out of all, to be able to sit here and have this conversation,
Starting point is 00:08:59 it comes from a different level of respect. And the reason when I got in the game and I got that opportunity to get in, I looked at different lanes different paths so right after I did born and raised in the county of day with trick Rick and Cali's album yeah I was down in Dominican Republic Fuera to los platas, no que los que. Casa del Campo. We use that. Casa del Campo, yeah, that's, you know, not everybody in D.O. is like, hey, Casa del Campo. And I am. I love Casa del Campo. Let's go. Believe me, I invested there. So you're in the Dominican Republic.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I'm in Dominican Republic, but I'm not in Casa del Campo. I'm in Santo Domingo. And I see these two beautiful Dominican women dancing to Bob Sinclair's record world hold on And then Boston Claire's we had to be taking ecstasy right in that record Wow and I'm thinking in my head I know these motherfuckers don't speak English I'm like well, let me holla at them real quick and see what's up. So I talk to them and I say, hey, you like this record?
Starting point is 00:10:07 He's like, oh,. I said,. You know what they're saying? No. I said, shit, I need to get in this music right here. So when I heard that Bob Sinclair, World Hold On, that was the first record that I jumped on for world music. When I saw the player in the lane, I'm like, man,
Starting point is 00:10:26 nobody looking at this shit. You know where I heard world hold on at? At Mansion on South Beach, taking ecstasy. Play with her. That's where I heard it at. Continue your story. I'm sorry. Oh, you think you heard it?
Starting point is 00:10:35 Maybe. Maybe. Continue your story. I don't even want to know the rest of that story. I can go a lot of ways right now. Because I want you to remember what you said. But listen, the big homie Jay-Z seen us drinking a champagne that he did not approve.
Starting point is 00:10:47 So he, I can't even say the name of the champagne. So he wants a, and our show is about celebrating. So which bottle do you want to pop? The gold, when you win a Grammy, because you got Grammys too, right? You was nominated a lot of times. We've won Grammys, but I'm over winning Grammys. I think we should own Grammys at this point
Starting point is 00:11:07 You saying you want to go Rose? You know you want to go keep it going? I'm here to show love the I don't really drink champagne and be honest Okay, so love this okay somebody as an entrepreneur Yeah, doing what we need to do the fucking game cuz the shit the milk dust Yeah, so much one sir so much fun. You like the gold or I've never tried any of them, but I try to rose which So you remember you saw them all down in the yard, okay, And when I heard the Bob Sinclair jumped on that record, it was the remix. And that is what allowed me
Starting point is 00:11:49 to get into the world of the DJs when nobody was really looking at them and not allowed to hold another lane. So by the time I got into that, which when we beat TVT Records for our own shit, mind you, I always tell people,
Starting point is 00:12:00 I never beat for no motherfucking rappers. God bless everybody. I understand that's a part of it. But we did go against the company and we won against TVT Records, which allowed myself to be free, Lil Jon to be free, Ying Yang to be free, Yo Gotti to be free. Don't go there yet, because I got that in my notes and everything. Please, please, please. So let's continue with the Dominican part, right? So when we get to the DJ game... That was $ hours of spill
Starting point is 00:12:30 DJ game I see that that's a world nobody's looking at huh? Now you started DJ. No, I started rapping on the record I'll record for the DJ started rapping on record before the DJ became artists right right so before they were looking at the getters or the Sinclair's or the Tiestos or the afroj Jack's or you name it. Right. Because they really flipped their game around 2012 after we jumped on X amount of records. Then everybody started to jump on them kind of records. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:12:55 So now I got a whole nother lick I'm looking at right now. I ain't going to put everybody on it yet. Right. Let me go ahead and suck a little more because we knew this bitch first. Hey, the lick's for everybody. But I got another one that I'm looking at. But that was the pivotal point.
Starting point is 00:13:11 And the only reason that I was able to make that pivotal point without worrying about my career, because a lot of people worry about their career and say, oh, if I jump on this, then these people ain't going to think I'm this or I'm not credible or this. No.
Starting point is 00:13:21 I looked at it as, if it wasn't for Miami, building me the way that we were built on here meaning black white pink purple orange Cuban Puerto Rican Dominican Mexican Venezuelan Colombian Honduran fucking the Give them a booze Wow So good but with everybody that we grew up around in Miami, it's what allowed me to step out the box and not worry about it,
Starting point is 00:14:13 because I was raised around so much different music. Whether it was salsa, merengue, bachata, bass music, hip hop, electronic music, cumbia. No, everything. Everything a little bit. It's a paella, pap No, de todo. De todo un poco. ¿No me entiendes? Es una paella, papito. Una paella es a gumbo. Con todo. But what you did to Lindsay Lohan,
Starting point is 00:14:31 why did she sue you? I ain't do nothing to Lindsay Lohan. If I would have done something to Lindsay Lohan, she wouldn't have tried that. What did she sue you for? What did she sue you for? She sued me for saying, mind you, for showing her love, basically.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Get the fuck out of here. I never heard of it. Because you think about it, I got her locked up like Lindsay Lohan. That's it? If we're in the street, that's like shit. Oh, this is when she was the gangster, hunting them all. I remember this. Got her locked up like Lindsay Lohan. So what happens is they sued some
Starting point is 00:14:55 internet company at the time for or a milk company for something for utilizing Lindsay Lohan's brand. Man. See that? And that was an undisclosed whatever it is and when she stepped us with that I just said I mean well what I really did was first of all I said hey, let me invite you to the music awards the MTV Music Awards We'll go together classy move classy continue and then after when we are
Starting point is 00:15:20 We put these on certain Attorneys on the game. They figured out that their attorneys were plagiarizing the whole game. And they were just grabbing certain cases and putting it on certain things. And we told them, hey, well, look, if you want to go to court with this, this could be a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:15:36 So you're saying if I was to say, I'm a pit bull like Pit Bull, and you take it personal, you could sue me for that? Well, that's what they do on that side. Me, I'd be like, shit, bet that up. I appreciate you. Exactly. You could sue for anything, really that's what they do on that side me I've got shit better about anything yeah yeah yeah well I mean right now that's why I had to I had to trademark the year because they were using it on records that I wasn't on whoa that will be coming big records around the world so
Starting point is 00:16:00 hey man I'm all about if you earn your, it's fair for you to fight for it. But most people, they're bitch made, and what they do, if they see you coming up, it's crabs in a bucket at a whole other game when you get to that other level. You know, because they got them attorneys that move different. Ambulance chasers one way or another. You never been in a party with Lindsay Lohan
Starting point is 00:16:21 and seen her party? Nah, to be honest with you, man, God bless her, but she don't look like my kind of party. Oh, let's make some noise for Pitbull. Now, I heard you named yourself Pitbull because you said that Pitbulls never fight. They never give up. Well, I mean, they always fight.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Yeah, they always fight, but they never give up. That's what you... They fight to the death. You thought it was a time you wanted to give up in hip-hop? It was a time you doubted yourself? I think you always, in life, doubt yourself one way or another, right?
Starting point is 00:16:50 I do, too. And that's what makes you reinvent yourself, recreate yourself, re-challenge yourself. But the Pitbull came from a Dominican friend of mine that I grew up with named Junior. There's always a Dominican involved. There's always a Dominican involved. I owe a lot of my career to Dominicans and their culture to be honest with you me too and they thought I was Dominican my whole career. I never told him no Like fucking I'm just honorary Dominican. Let's just go with it
Starting point is 00:17:21 Don't work Jay-z did the same Jay-Z was Dominican. And we were on the way to a pit bull fight. I was about 16 years old. And he said, Chico, that's your name, Pit Bull. I was like, oh, man, all right, cool. I was looking for a rap name at the time. And at the time when we were freestyling, I went to a lot of different high schools.
Starting point is 00:17:45 And you had the cornrows then? At that time, yeah, I had the braids to the back. And then he, I would battle four different guys at the same time, and then they'd battle me. Oh, they'll react, they'll respond. Well, it was, I was very blessed living in so many different neighborhoods in Miami. I had, let's say, for lack of better terms,
Starting point is 00:18:04 what they call it now, a lot of content. Right. I had a lot of ways to flip different things. You know, I could flip Patua on them, Creole on them, Spanish on them, English on them. You know, different neighborhoods, from black neighborhoods, they would call different things different things.
Starting point is 00:18:18 It was just so many ways to flip shit that you would kill them at the end of the day if that's the only neighborhood they grew up in. So therefore, Junior turns to me, he's like, hey man, that's your name, Pitbull. I'm like, oh shit, I kind of like the name. I'm like that. So when I started to study what the breed is, the breed for one, stereotype,
Starting point is 00:18:39 everybody think a pit is a bad thing, especially in Dade County, you know it's outlawed. Can't have pitbulls. In Broward they allow it though. In Broward they allow it. Another thing too's outlawed. Yeah, yeah. Can't have pit bulls. In Broward, they allow it, though. In Broward, they allow it. Another thing, too, it bites, it locks, doesn't let go until it takes care of business, and it fights to the death. It's too stupid to lose.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Don't understand what lose is. It just understands fight, fight, fight, fight. So you apply that to the game. You apply that to my life. You apply it to everything that we've got going on. That's basically what it's become. You feel me? So I owe it to Junior, and that's going on. That's basically what it's become Show me so I owe it the junior and that's for That's where the whole pit bull thing came from and then you really fuck up the game
Starting point is 00:19:11 Where when people talk about a household name and when you work so hard to get to a certain level you Google Pitbull right now I come up before the dog Are we doing shots So what's what I invested into Yeah, everybody together for like one thing so So voting is the first one. And it says,. Yes. Oh, you can't be real. You think I'm playing Mr. Lee? No, you can't be real. You can't be real. Mamawanda, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:19:48 I don't know. But the thing is, what I did is I invested into, when I seen everybody took one thing on, this was the flagship for me. That was the vodka, right? That's the flagship. We ended up buying this and we distill it now in Hialeah. We're changing the way we're going to distill it now. But this right here, I look at it as our Bacardi.
Starting point is 00:20:08 So Bacardi became a mothership or an umbrella of Grey Goose, Patron, Black, the whole nine. So I said, okay, this is going to take the lead to create a portfolio. Then I got a chance to do business with Espanita, which they're killing it. They're the ones that's going to actually be the point guards in all of this. You got a rum out of Dominican Republic. Wow. And where's this one made?
Starting point is 00:20:29 Wait, this is the same one? That's a rum out of Mexico. Out of Mexico. Another rum out of Mexico. Yeah, because it looks like a tequila bottle for a second. And then you have Candela, which is the Mamajuana. That's got its own name. Nobody got Mamajuana bottled up.
Starting point is 00:20:39 No, nobody got Mamajuana. So that's another company that went and bottled it. So this is our portfolio. This became our Bacardi. Little by little,. So that's another company this became a little bit That means a with patience of Vaseline the elephant fuck the ant Discovered the mystery of where that bottle came from. Oh, yeah, I didn't even know. Yeah, I thought he was sneaking it out. I'm like, no, we're putting this over here.
Starting point is 00:21:08 I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back.
Starting point is 00:21:24 I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back. I want to throw this back careers in a lot of this right take nothing and make it something Who was the first person Like after you you had this illustrious career and you're having this less less his career Who was the first person that called you was like get the fuck out of here? Who's the first person you got like a little starstruck that called you and went to work with you? Oh star struck Oh, oh just happy they oh man. It was Enrique being one of them. Thank you. Yeah, Jennifer being another mark Anthony I'm sure you were hired with just Luke back in the day. I mean Luke was the one to put on the day And and Luke was the one that taught me the independent grind the independent hustle and on top of that too Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't be here without Luke. I don't think a lot of us would be here without Luke. That's the king of Miami.
Starting point is 00:22:08 And Luke was the one that taught me the independent grind, the independent hustle. And on top of that, too, a lot of people don't see it that way, but Luke fought for us. I appreciate it. Luke fought the fucking Supreme Court and won for the First Amendment. So none of us would be talking the shit that we're talking right now if So it wasn't for Luke. The UM would not be UM without Luke. The Heat, Dolphins, anything that moves in Miami at a certain time had to come through Uncle Luke. Goddamn, make some noise for Uncle Luke.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Yeah, yeah, sir. One more time for you. Let's make some noise for him. Salud, homie. Singa, singa, que la oya pinga. That means fucking fuck, that's a dick. That's good, man. That Mama Juana's good. That's it's mama wanna pop it. That is good
Starting point is 00:22:54 So So yeah to be able to hang out in in Jennifer's house with Mark Anthony and them I say oh See me. She's going something. All right. Yeah. And what period was that? When you were... That was about 2010. Okay, that's when they was doing the Hector Laval movie, or no?
Starting point is 00:23:13 Yep, they just finished the Hector Laval, and she was on American Idol. I went and stayed at the house for the night, which was funny, because me and Mark, we got together about
Starting point is 00:23:24 four o'clock in the afternoon. We stayed together about four o'clock in the afternoon. We stayed drinking until nine o'clock in the morning. You heard, he's a real drinker. And yeah, he's a lot of fun. Mind you, the houses are blocked along in Los Angeles. Not the one in Bel Air. I don't know where the fuck it's at, some hill, whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I just know it's on that side of the coast, right? And I'm in the room with mark, and I'm going dog. He's hot as fuck in this room I Say you think I can go ahead and change the AC right quick. He's like now we can't touch that Jennifer likes it at 86 For Miami boy to be hot you know already know what they do, right? Were the windows open? No, no, hold up, there wasn't, there wasn't though. So then I go, Mark, but not for nothing, Jennifer's on the other side of the house. Literally, this is a block long, dog.
Starting point is 00:24:15 We got to go to the other side of the crib. She's like, nah, nah, nah, but she don't like me playing with the AC. I'm going, oof. That's when I told them, hey, you think it's cool if I go ahead and open these doors? Do I leave right quick in the back? Because, you know, they live on the hills or whatever Yeah, if this is a old crib we just was there last weekend because I'm not not with them my boy bought a crib So it's the same crib I know exactly what you told my about, but I'm gonna continue. So no, out of all, that's when I figured out, I said, boy, Jennifer's a general.
Starting point is 00:24:48 This thing's diligent. You can't even touch the A.C. in the crib. You can't even touch the A.C. in the crib. Even if you mark motherfucking Anthony. Motherfucking crib, man. In my mind, he's like Hector LaVoy. Hey, hey, Choochie! Oh, shit. You seen the movie, obviously, right?
Starting point is 00:25:04 What's her name? Coochie. Who's Choochie? Coochie? Coochie. C Hey, hey, Coochie. You seen the movie, obviously, right? What's her name? Coochie. No, Coochie. Coochie? Coochie. Coochie. Coochie.
Starting point is 00:25:08 So Coochie, what up? God damn it. Hey, Coochie. Holy shit. Oh, man. We live on the podcast. Where you at? I'm at Racket on the back side, though.
Starting point is 00:25:19 I'm 24th, right? That's the street is on? Hey, Mr. Lee going to tell you right now. So we going to tell you. 24th and 1st. Um, damn, where was I? I'm sorry. Oh, we finished the coochie. The coochie, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I got notes and shit, man, you know what I'm saying? I'm trying to be professional, you know what I'm saying? You had to know where to go through his notes. Yeah, yeah, no problem. This is great, man. It makes me feel like I'm at an underground radio station. You almost killed a crackhead because you laced the product? That's in your notes, man? It's in my notes, man. On the ground radio station you almost killed a crackhead because you laced the back Cuz you face the product and that's when you stopped on the drugs Oh, man, he was trying to go all you trying to have some Miami spice. I heard this I lived
Starting point is 00:26:00 I lived in South Miami Heights, uh-huh, and I lived in these buildings. They called the shortstop So next to the shortstop, you have the square. So that's one dope hole. And then between shortstop, you have ghouls, which is Chocolate City and the village on this side. Yeah, that's right. Off of Caribbean Boulevard. And so when one runs out, they got to come through the shortstop, basically. So you stop.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Hey, what they do? Whatever it is But there's one that my father he like to drink the world Was funny she wasn't actually a bass head to be honest with you At that level the bass head used to come around with no tires on the rim and shit that was fun to watch by the way Sliding across did you say no tires on the rim? On the rim, yeah. Just sliding on. I'll picture you in a picture.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Yeah. And so you picture in these buildings, we had our own. We had our own police station in there. We had a metro police station in the buildings. Wow. So we had to be strategic about anything that we did. And this one woman, when she came up, we used to be, the buildings that would be heavy
Starting point is 00:27:08 was building C and building A. And she came up and I happened to have a couple... Y'all makes. What's that thing that you was in a mansion on? On that box in Clare? Oh yeah. Some of them things. The Cadillacs. And then I had a little onion on this side box in Clare. Oh yeah. Some of them things. Uh huh. And then I had her, you know, little onion on this side.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And you mix it together. And I got the work. Yeah, and I was nice. You make a salada. And then I was on, we were together. I'm about 17 at the time, and you know, she, took a bag, ran off with it, and came back, came back with just all bloody all over the place.
Starting point is 00:27:48 And you know, down here in Miami, you turn to somebody and she's like, Crocker, you done laid mine. Crocker, you done killed me. Crocker, I know you. Crocker, you done. And then my dog was with me. My dog was with me.
Starting point is 00:27:59 And he's like, first of all, you ain't no Crocker. That's a Chico right there. That's just too raw for you, baby. That's just too raw for you. Your nose ain't ready for that kind of candy, baby. And in my mind, I'm thinking, oh, shit. Like, man, we almost killed a woman over $20. And that's when I say, you know what, partner?
Starting point is 00:28:25 I think I'm kind of straight on, at least on this side of things. Playing it at that level, let's just say. So yeah, that was a rude awakening. But it's no worse than what these companies do right now with these cell phones and shit. I mean, they get everybody hooked. It's a bunch of dope where they got all your data and shit. They know who you fuck, your move You're right. Yeah, I'm gonna step right now. We'll all talk about say, you know, let's take a trip to Kabul United Airlines or he sent me Yo, you ain't seen that documentary, yes, this was doing it to me before I seen that document. No, no. They talking about shipping them back to Gmail is already addictive. So like this guy, he is, he is, you ain't got to ask him to drink.
Starting point is 00:29:11 He just go, all right, get out, man. You're the perfect guest, man. Just keep going, man. Salute. I want a drink. I want to take some of this water. My mawana? Yeah, please.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Pass me my mawana. My mawana? Take another shot? Okay, I'm in. Come to the water. I've been very blessed to get to talk to you. That's a drink. That's a drink. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:29:27 That's what I'm talking about, man. Y'all Cubans, guys, are living up to the image. I ain't going live. Let me end my Interportal weekend right now. No, this is mine. Oh! He took it down. Donnie the boy.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Oh, you went straight for the bottle? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, you good? You want some Pockyattie shit? I understand. I understand where we're going. You want a shot? I'll get a shot, though.
Starting point is 00:29:51 We're going to take a shot. Come on, my man. We took a shot. We took two shots. I did. Right now. What? You got me?
Starting point is 00:29:55 You did. What the fuck? I ain't waiting. This is Cuban shit. See what I'm saying? We'll send it to Cuban Miami. We ain't even starting that Cuban shit yet. I'm telling you, I'm running to Cuban Miami.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Come on, man. I got one. I got one. I got one me around into Cuban Miamis. Come on, man. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your brother. I'm your saying. Hold on, because I got a chance to. Yeah, no problem. I've had a chance to not only- Has.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Just straight you go. They told it to you. Oh, okay. I didn't know. I was taking notes, Robin. No. Head engineer has. You're taking notes.
Starting point is 00:30:37 I've been very blessed to be able to travel the world also with Tony Robbins and have speaking engagements and all that. Oh, you're Tony Robbins? Wait, the dude? The Google guy?'s so weird we've been touring together for about four years now excuse me time out yeah that's not even your next level shit right yeah I've never heard of this shit you just said you went on tour with Tony Tony Robbins, so he goes out and speaks to the people, and then you come out in a suit, and then you speak to them after? Correct, yeah. What's a suit got to do with it? He got a suit on, right?
Starting point is 00:31:07 He got a suit on. He got a suit on, huh? I know he got a suit on. Back it to you. So one of the things I talk about in the speaking engagement, where I tell people, I say, look, I'm not religious, man. I believe in God.
Starting point is 00:31:17 But one of the stories out of the Bible, one of the most famous stories is what? Is Adam and Eve. What did Eve bite? The apple? She bit bit the Apple look at the logo on your fucking phones it's a big number so therefore everybody biting that bitch right now Oh shit, no problem. No, that's all good. This is all good. We all good. We all good.
Starting point is 00:31:46 We all good. We all good. For Adel, that's crazy. You know what I said on the rhyme. I said, most people holding their phones, it's like two hands holding your phone. It's like you pray to it. Yeah. Think about it.
Starting point is 00:31:58 That's what you're actually doing. You're actually sitting there and praying to this device. It's a cell phone, baby. It's a cell phone for a reason. You're prisoner to the phone.. It's a cell phone, baby. It's a cell phone for a reason. You're a prisoner to the phone. You're in a cell. Mm.
Starting point is 00:32:08 He like, we're saying Islam right now. Hey! You're the devil! You're the devil! You're the devil! You called Farrakhan! Shit! Yo, come on, dude.
Starting point is 00:32:17 This is, this, that's ill. That's ill. So you did, you saw that film. Of Social Dilemma? You've seen it too. Not only I saw it. That's what it is. That's what it's called. Yeah. Not only I saw it. Social Dilemma. Oh, that I saw it I'm talking to my wife my wife is just standing in
Starting point is 00:32:35 the kitchen just like this and I'm just like so I wanted to see how long it would take her to break out of the curse this is like the curse and the next day she watched this she's like that's what you was doing to me yesterday because I just stood there just left just later and the suit and then The next day I didn't even tell her to watch it because our phones is connected next morning She just woke up and watch this it she was like, oh, okay That's what you every day every hour of the day. I don't know if I ever shared this I think I did I know one hour today. I take my phone. You've talked about I take my phone away I'm sitting on a blackberry dog. What yeah, and you can't play with yeah
Starting point is 00:33:15 But that's what I stay on right there Charlie got you got a beeper code, you don't know what it is. Remember the beeper codes and shit? You know what I used to hit the girls with the beeper code, right? 555, I want sex. Or 42, fuck me. Wow, wow. Yeah, so hey, at the end of the day, so now you're a Miami 305 they kind of living in Miami
Starting point is 00:34:05 Over double digits so trick told me once I he can't do. I'm saying that. But this is the best taxes in the country. Yeah, yeah. But how about, I know you're not into sports, but I am impressed about what the Heat is doing right now. Are you doing anything? Are you doing anything with the basketball? I've been seeing what they're doing in the bubble.
Starting point is 00:34:17 I'm proud of the Heat, bro. I like Jimmy Butler. I like Jimmy Butler for many, many years. He's a good guy. He's been to a lot of shows. His sister's a big fan, actually. So I got a chance to see him while he was in Chicago. I like him because he's a good guy. He's been to a lot of shows. His sister's a big fan, actually, so I got a chance to see him while he was in Chicago. I like him because he's a good guy.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Jay Crowder, that's my brother. We used to live in the same building. You know what I mean, man? But it's hard to find humble, hard workers in the league in this day and age. When we grew up, we watched players, and if they were down 20 with two minutes left, you couldn't get the motherfuckers out the game.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Now it's like they're down 20 with two minutes left. It's like, man, sit me down. I'm straight. I'm not going to lie to you. And this might hurt your feelings a little bit. It might hurt everybody's feelings here. Miami. I used to go to a lot of Miami games because I lived out here.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Miami might be the worst fans ever, though. Oh, no. The minute you guys start leaving, they just go outside and start messing with the little bitches. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, everywhere is a fucking club in Miami. Like, I turn any fucking place into a club. They just go outside and start messing with the little bitches. You know what I'm saying? Everywhere is a fucking club in Miami. I turned any fucking place into a club.
Starting point is 00:35:11 That's what I learned about Miami. A guy has to say, you got to put on club clothes. We're going to the game. It's going to turn into a club at some point. At some point. And I learned that. As fans, because I got the worst fans in the the world I mean, I'm a Knicks fan and we we are a beaut we abused We're gonna use I think you guys are the greatest fans with an interesting team with the worst team
Starting point is 00:35:36 You can say you can say with the worst team, but you guys got a great team But it's like it's like Miami is so blessed that if you come And once they start losing the fans just leave out and I think that like 12 times I come to the game only thing that Miami really ride for when it comes to that Hurricane hurricane. Yeah. Yeah, you didn't live in Miami We in it, but yes, it's true But let me tell you if you utilize that to your advantage, once you know that Miami show up for you, then that's a...
Starting point is 00:36:12 I mean, it's a... How can I say? You earn that respect. You earn that... I fuck with you. I can tell you. Look, the Marlins won, basically, in inaugural season,
Starting point is 00:36:23 with LeBron Hernandez. I love you, Miami. You know, at that time. and then they broke up the team so miami is like damn dog we just had a great team and even when the u had to run the ncaa kept fucking with us they kept sanctioning us one way or another you know because they didn't want basically thugs winning football games because the way we were playing the game was different from everybody else at the time. Mind you, I used to park cars at the Orange Bowl, bro. When I was seven years old.
Starting point is 00:36:49 At the Orange Bowl. At the Orange Bowl. That's it, yeah? Yeah, yeah. I don't even know why they knocked that shit down, but I know it is what it is, right? Now, when we get to the Heat, what happens? You put together a conglomerate, an animal.
Starting point is 00:37:02 You got LeBron. No, you got LeBron, Bosh, Wade, and Manuel, who the heart of that shit is UD being an OT boy. He's the one that'll step up to anybody. He's the one jumping up on you, right? They need that spirit. Then what they do, they win games, boom, they break it all up. So what does Miami really fall in love with?
Starting point is 00:37:21 You got to put that into perspective, though. You ain't no bush, man. You ain't no bush. Look, we live in a world of criticizing thinkers I come from a world of being a critical thinker I like to listen I like to look at shit break it down and then so when someone get the talking shit you go okay that's cool I appreciate that and I acknowledge your opinion but what about this it's like spades right boom and then you wait for that last one ago bye you definitely been to jail before talking about space what space you're talking about I've been very busy I've been very blessed
Starting point is 00:38:02 to go to jail and duck prison okay Okay, that's great. That's great. That's the guy hit the whole 360 How do you work? Yeah? Yeah counties enough? You gotta fight a couple Miami's villains, but the worst jails in America You know what y'all shit. You know what y'all do? Just make it cold. Who the fuck? That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:27 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:28 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:30 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:30 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:30 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:31 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:31 That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. me that motherfucker, y'all. That's what they tell you about killing the germs or making it look, holy moly. Y'all got the foul gels in America. I just want y'all to know that. I've been very blessed to get in, get out. Pre-trial release.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Appreciate you. Thank you very much. The American West with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network, hosted by me, writer and historian Dan Flores, and brought to you by Velvet Buck. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. Each episode, I'll be diving into some of the lesser known histories of the West.
Starting point is 00:39:17 I'll then be joined in conversation by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and bestselling author and meat eater founder Stephen Ranella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here and I'll say it seems like the ice age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th where we'll delve into stories of the West and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today. Listen to The American West with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time,
Starting point is 00:40:01 Have you ever had to shoot your gun? Sometimes the answer is yes. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley comes a story about what happened when a multi-billion dollar company
Starting point is 00:40:28 dedicated itself to one visionary mission. This is Absolute Season 1. Taser Incorporated. I get right back there and it's bad. It's really, really, really bad. Listen to new episodes of Absolute Season 1, Taser Incorporated, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Binge episodes 1, 2, and 3 on May 21st, and episodes 4, 5, and 6 on June 4th.
Starting point is 00:41:02 Add free at Lava for Good Plus on Apple Podcasts. And it's going to take us to heal us. It's Mental Health Awareness Month, and on a recent episode of Just Heal with Dr. J, the incomparable Taraji P. Henson stopped by to discuss how she's discovered peace on her journey. So what I'm hearing you saying is healing is a part of us also reconnecting to our childhood in some sort. You said I look how youthful I look because I never let that little girl inside of me die.
Starting point is 00:41:32 I go outside and run outside with the dogs. I still play like a kid. I laugh. You know, I love jokes. I love funny. I love laughing. I laugh at myself. I don't take myself too seriously.
Starting point is 00:41:44 That's the stuff that keeps you young and stops you from being so hard. To hear this and more things on the journey of healing, you can listen to Just Heal with Dr. J from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. AT&T, connecting changes everything. My name is Brendan Patrick Hughes, host of Divine Intervention. This is a story about radical nuns in combat boots and wild haired priests trading blows with J. Edgar Hoover
Starting point is 00:42:18 in a hell bent effort to sabotage a war. J. Edgar Hoover was furious. Somebody violated the FBI, and he wanted to bring the Catholic left to its knees. The FBI went around to all their neighbors and said to them, do you think these people are good Americans? It's got heists, tragedy, a trial of the century, and the goddamnedest love story you've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:42:43 I picked up the phone, and my thought was, this is the most important phone call I'll ever make in my life. I couldn't believe it. I mean, Brendan, it was divine intervention. You can now binge all 10 episodes of Divine Intervention on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So, all right, now, we touched on it a little bit earlier. I want to circle back to it.
Starting point is 00:43:16 It was at one point, and I don't want to use the word slave because I don't feel like that's proper, but it was at one point when anybody signed a TBT, it felt like that was a lifetime contract. Oh, man. Like, I mean, from Mike Geronimo to... Ja Rule, Cash Money Click. Yeah. You guys, it just felt like once you signed to TBT,
Starting point is 00:43:37 Rory Flush, once you signed to TBT, that was it. And I heard a rumor, and I actually heard this rumor from Jay-Z because this is crazy shit. I had a record with you and I was trying to put it out. And I was like, yo, Pitbull is my man. And he said, yo, trust me. Stay away from it for right now because Steve Gottlieb just has. This is what he said.
Starting point is 00:43:57 This is quote unquote, I swear to God, it's almost quote unquote. And I promise you, we will co-sign this. He said, he just has new suits in his closet just to steal people. He has suits just to go to court. He definitely doesn't wear the suits, for sure. I mean, just to go to court. I don't think he meant that literally. No, no, yeah, that's what he did, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:16 But he was a lawyer. Yeah, he's a Harvard grad. No, he's definitely a smart dude. He was a smart dude. So I look at Steve Gottlieb as the Castro of the music industry, a genius for all the wrong reasons. You're Cuban, so you calling him Castro is that like-
Starting point is 00:44:30 I learned a lot from that world. Now I look at it where if you look at the biggest robbery in the United States of America is student loans. So I got a chance to go to university and get paid for it, even though it was the best university but not by music standards. When we were at TVT, we were knocking these motherfuckers out the park. That's the thing about it. Y'all were so successful, people didn't understand
Starting point is 00:44:52 the business part of you guys. I mean, independently, I had an album, at that time, Miami sold 750,000 albums. Independently. That doesn't necessarily mean I ate off that, but I did eat off the journey. I got a chance to see independently how to break shit down.
Starting point is 00:45:07 And my new Luke being independent was the first one to break certain things down for me. So the minute that I saw that Buddy's litigious, meaning Steve, he likes to sue everybody. Here's the crazy thing. Irv Gotti was the beginning of my career. And then Irv Gotti, by by default became the holy grail of my career I'm gonna break it down I follow all right hey when I went to one of high schools I went to Coral Park I'm gonna make this quick hope Martinez my teacher changed my life mind your name is hope hope Martinez
Starting point is 00:45:37 gives me an invitation to a video shoot at salvation where I first saw y'all by the way component or a couple come niggas on the run eating and all that right there. Go ahead, God damn it. Boom, right? When I go to Salvation, it's a DMX video shoot. DMX and them doing their thing. One of my dogs instigating shit. And next thing you know, one of the guys named Bundo at a Rough Riders tells him,
Starting point is 00:46:03 He's like, yo, I'm not going to give you DMX, but I'll give you drag on. Next thing you know, I'm battling drag on. When I battle drag, that starts to send waves throughout the city. You say you smoke drag. Nah, I wouldn't say that. What I would say is this. I'm going to tell you not real shit.
Starting point is 00:46:18 I'm going to be real with you. I got Swiss beach right next to me when the battle starts, and Swiss says, I'll give you three battle starts and switch switch says I give you three rounds and drags gonna burn you I don't know what the fuck drag on these at this right? Nobody Just my dogs with me right and then money I got home court advantage at least like a flippy English Spanish this than a third And my news videotape of this shit. It's gonna come out and man you boom I'm battling drag one round, two round, three round, four round.
Starting point is 00:46:46 The reason that drag loses this battle is because he went to. He went what? Eighth round, he went to. Me and my niggas done licked shots, he done hit cops. Bitch, can't wait for my shit to drop. Oh, he hit the drop. He hit something that was already out. Before Down Bottom hits with Juvenile on the Rough Rider album.
Starting point is 00:47:01 Mind you, I'm listening to this flow as a Miami boy. I'm going, what the fuck is this shit? I never heard no flow like that before you feel me Something and he got me but his folks know know he got you So Irv Gotti comes up and herbs like hey, you the one causing all this ruckus. I don't know who is I'm 17 years old at the time and herbs like you don't want causing all this ruckus Yeah, he said you you you write music I said now I write music I was older at the time and Irv was like, you the one causing all this ruckus? Yeah. He said, you write music?
Starting point is 00:47:28 I said, nah, I don't write music, I freestyle. You know, he's 17, he got the fucking world by the balls and shit. And he said, that freestyle shit is cool, but it don't make no money. Boom, I said, bing, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. I started writing music like that. So that's where Irv changed my life by default, right?
Starting point is 00:47:47 Alright, so now if you look at it, freestyle's what? Freestyle. Not the shit in freestyle, shit in paid style now, but I got it after Irv told me that, right? So out of all, I go see Irv, Irv's working on the Murder Inc. project, Irv takes Jay-Z, DMX, Ja Rule to Def Jam. Ja Rule coming off of the
Starting point is 00:48:05 cash money click off of TV TV all right where does it all flip with herb again well now Steve sues death jam for job rule and he wins for about a hundred in I think it's like 60 mil when he he wins for 160 mil, here's the difference. Steve is Jewish. Lyra Cohen is Jewish. And Lyra Cohen is like, okay, cool, no problem, papito. Parate. Pagada appeal.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Wins the appeal. Wins the appeal. When he wins the appeal, it goes down to like about 94. Don't quote me on numbers, but I'm putting you in ballparks. 90 and some change. Drunk drunk facts That's what we call it One of the sector I like that it's almost like Miranda Can be used against a lot that's the most important thing by other Buddy hits again
Starting point is 00:49:02 Lyric horn comes back Appeals again now Buddy's at about Like 60 mil On a 160 million dollar judgment That he pulled collateral On a bank from But me hanging out At TVT Records
Starting point is 00:49:14 In the office and shit While I'm trying to see What the game plan is On different things I'm listening Ying, yang So when I hear he in that spot I'm like shit
Starting point is 00:49:23 I took my little bit of advance money. I never bought nothing else other than property. I was living in Nopalaka at the time. So you already signed on TVT while this was happening. I signed on TVT. So I took that little bit of advance money I got. I bought a couple of properties. I pooled everything.
Starting point is 00:49:37 And this is right before 2008 hit with the crisis. And I'm like, fuck it. I'm going to fight this shit. It was about a quarter mil. I put that up. And I told the woman that was in my life at the time So hey look, it's real simple either we gonna win this or we gonna end up on the I-95 on saying 9th Street No, 479th Street
Starting point is 00:49:55 So why'd it happen so they sued Ja Rule over the Def Jam shit Irv Gotti is a part of it or got to get hit by the feds all this shit's happening at the same time Same time same time the contract and I'm on the seat. So Irv by defect becomes my out due to Ja Rule At TVT because he sued Def Jam over Ja Rule you got what I'm trying to tell you? No So Steve sues Def Jam for Ja Rule, uh-huh after he gave him away supposedly Yes, and Irv's a part of that whole movement. Right, right Steve sues Def Jam for Ja Rule after he gave him away supposedly. Yes. And Irv's a part of that whole movement. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Right, so that whole movement, Lyra, Lyra Cohen fighting Steve all these years. I've been bugging out the whole time, you kept saying liar, I was like, who the fuck are you talking about? Sayin' shit. Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Lee or liar. So it was that court case that allowed me to sneak in, put my lawsuit in, and that's
Starting point is 00:50:54 how we got out. And you knew you was going to get out? Was you confident? Hell no. Because you know what? I think Mike Geronimo still signs to him to this day. No, man. And let me tell you, Geronimo still signs to him to this day. No, man. And let me tell you, Geronimo was fucking, he was raw, bro.
Starting point is 00:51:08 He was raw. I'm going to be honest, I think so, bro. That's my friend. I seen him at Butcher Rock Party the other day. But I'm just saying, that's how Steve Gottlieb got on there. And mind you, by default, Steve Gottlieb became the beginning of Interscope Records. To Jimmy Iovine through Nine Inch Nails and them. Now, if you look at the trajectory of Buddy's head, that's why I say he's a...
Starting point is 00:51:27 Well, with the TV tunes. He bought all the rights to the TV tunes. That's why he has TVT records. And then he sued anybody using the TV tunes. Well, I'm going to tell you how I know Buddy was an interesting character. If you walked in, I don't know if you've been in TVT records in New York. He had this couch that when you walk up the stairs, it was an inflatable couch and he put it up on a frame
Starting point is 00:51:48 and it's something that his old boy came up with. Old boy down here means father. So his father came up with, he basically stole slash got a loan from that idea to open TVT records. So Buddy hid his own father. An inflatable couch? Yeah, it was on the, when you're coming up the steps, that idea to open TVT records so buddy hit his own father a double couch yeah you it was on the when you're coming up the steps man you can almost see it like
Starting point is 00:52:10 this right now but hey look I wouldn't change anything in the world I love that hustle lot at grand love to learn and I think it's a life for a second last time I go wanna get no sort of so much persona cape and we look at we look I'm saying we look at at a loss as an opportunity. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. It's a loss. Yeah, we're going like, oh, how can I put it? You're in a building, you're cleaning the building, you're cleaning the toilets,
Starting point is 00:52:37 and in your mind you're going, I'm going to own this building one day. And people tell you, nah, I don't have a work. Papa, watch me. So you bought yourself out of that contract yourself? No, we beat. We beat that motherfucker. All right, take it from there. No, no, hold up, but real quick.
Starting point is 00:52:50 I don't know if you remember this, but around the time, I don't know if it's before you're trying to make the move, you're coming to our office, crazy or not, you're doing freestyles. Yeah, I like you out. Steve steps to us to sign Garcia. I remember that. And you talk to me, and you pulled me to the side and said, you didn't want to tell me details. You just said,
Starting point is 00:53:07 don't do it. And at first, I'm conflicted. I'm like, oh, man. Let me stop you right there because he's hitting you a game. But you probably, or did you think that he was hating? Not hating, but I was confused by it. Teach was the one that pulled me to the side and said, he's putting you on
Starting point is 00:53:24 the game. He's taking care of you. Because you know what it was? I'm going to be honest. As an outsider of the industry, everyone wanted to go to TVT. But everyone in the industry knew, holy shit. But you're not always privileged to that information. But looking from the
Starting point is 00:53:39 outside, when you look, that was like the most powerful label at one point. All day. In the mid-2000s. Yeah. And being as independent as they were, they the mid 2000s Yeah, it means independence. They were they were killing it anyway in the hood No, and investing in people that nobody was nobody little John. Yeah. How did you hook up with TBT? Doodling with John? No little John and Brian Leach Brian least that's how you got. Um Cuz what they he's the one that believed in me. I mean John always showed me love right but leach was like Hey, look man, I'm not too, and this is real shit. Was it Polo Ground Records you did?
Starting point is 00:54:06 Yeah, him being a Harlem boy, he said, look I ain't really too much into what you be rapping about, I don't really understand too much, but I see you fucking everywhere. Right. I see you pushing your mixtapes, I see you everywhere trying to do things. Right. And then the one that flipped his mind, we were together on, at DJ Justo,, he rest in peace.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Oh, the Justo Awards? That was an incredible one. And I ripped a rhyme there. And that's when Brian, that was a verse off of I Don't Give a Fuck that Little John gave me an opportunity to do the remix on. And I spit that verse. To Brian Leach. No, on stage at Justo. But mind you this.
Starting point is 00:54:42 I have footage of this. I gave it to Teach. I think he asked me for it. I don't know if you guys are using it. But mind you this, I have footage of this. I gave it to Teach. I think he asked me for it. I don't know if you guys are using it. But I have the footage. We were there and he came out. Everybody in that venue, including artists, DJs on stage, looked at him crazy. And when he started spitting over that joint, we were the only ones, a couple of us in the audience, were going crazy.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Everybody, I think Mobb my people's gonna come perform Was it like a different type of crowd cuz it was just a diehard New York ghost faces. I think was there Like if the crowd was going wild he did his thing, you know And it was like five of us going crazy out of like 300 people or some not just those two So, you know that's all about certification, stamping, you know? And that was the- And that was the lyrics back in the days,
Starting point is 00:55:29 that's real like- The thing was the flow was different. You killed it though, but it was just people just didn't know what to think of him at the time. Yeah, exactly. Which was the verse was, trying to get it in my head because that way Nori could kind of get the feel. Too rich to remember your verses.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Hold on a second, I'm going to get it, I'm going to get it. I got that footage we could use it as a clip in this oh yeah finger every foot I got you and this is this is the verse that say, because I attribute my career to track 18 on Little John's Crunk of Kings. Oh, Kings of Crunk, I'm tripping. Yeah, thank you. He gave me an opportunity on that. So I utilized that on this verse to say, okay, everybody.
Starting point is 00:56:20 I don't give a fuck, so I said, I'm back at that Cuban from track 18 on the kings of krump I get anything just let me know exactly how many things you want catch us in the club with our cups up screaming We don't give a fuck my nigga. Starting point is 00:58:48 Don't put me on the remix now. Y'all some deep shit. Y'all like a ball in the wrong pocket. Y'all eat shit Damn, that's that one part. Don't worry Is 29 not 20 years 15 years wait, Oh this this is this is on a song song I'm trying to get the first in my mind and tell you why he's fitting you see people starting to look like oh shit on the stage some deep see I have the footage. Boom. Let's make some noise for Boris. On the research.
Starting point is 00:59:48 On the research. Let's try it again. You want to hear it one time? It's just that please bitch line. You want to see it one time? Go ahead and edit this. I'm back at that Cuban from track 18 Knowing the kings of crunk
Starting point is 01:00:04 I get anything just let me know exactly how many things you want Catch in the club with the cups up screaming we don't give a fuck My nigga don't want none cause truly we don't give a fuck Nigga don't put me on the remix now y'all want some deep shit Come in the track and I'm like please bitch Y'all like a ball in the corner pocket y'all losing the game I'm like a ball in the store in his pocket I go straight for your brain when I cock up and bang I'm doing my thing and nothing gon' stop. I walk through the rain, I have the it. But see, it was just please, bitch. Holy moly guacamole. You serious? By the time we leave, I got to give you the whole one.
Starting point is 01:00:47 See, that's about pushing yourself, man. You got to push yourself. Get the fuck out. And you still care about that shit? After all this shit? No, as far as mentally, I like to keep my mind together. But I love to show people, especially in this society, for the bitch made motherfucking pussy boys, to be honest with you
Starting point is 01:01:05 gratification does not exist so therefore to be 15 i've been 20 years in the game you've been in the game what 25 something like that's 97 since 97 all right so 93 yeah so you know you're 23 in the game i've been in there since 99 was my first contract with Luke. I remember getting on, I remember seeing y'all about 95, 96 when I was around certain people and beautiful women in Kendall. Loved them some crazy back then. When I Google you, you know what it says? It says your first break was on a Miami mixtape.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Yeah. And I wanted to wonder, was that something that intertwined with you guys? Or break it down, because... I did a lot of mixtapes. They did a lot of mixtapes. And then we would get together to put together different verses on different things.
Starting point is 01:02:00 But to get to an EFN at the time was like getting to a Flex in New York or getting to a clue. So I had to earn my stripes, I had to earn my respect. Was EFN a dick? Nah, never. Nah, never. He looks like he looks straight at you. If you want to get that story out of the way, just get out of the way.
Starting point is 01:02:20 Nah, EFN was never in no way, shape, or form. None of the clique either. But like anything in life, you... If you talk to somebody's park, you need to... Flex was kind of hard to get to pause. He wasn't an easy, accessible person. You had to actually have something going.
Starting point is 01:02:41 So that's the reason why I asked you. Back in the days when... We can't just look at everybody and say he's gonna be a star you know I'm saying it just happens Sometimes it there is and sometimes it's like you'll show you let me see you work. You know I'm saying yeah So you told me a story that you came to my store crazy goods of course you was a shorty I got jumped on off of her. In real, yeah. That was one of them. Because remember, look, we had a lot of gangs in Miami in the 90s.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Yeah, I remember that shit, yeah. A lot of them. So whether it was TNS, y'all had IMP, LBB, fucking Latin Kings, VLB, HT, YLO. You know, the black boys had the Booby Boys, John Doe, Zolpan. I mean, it was a gang of motherfuckers. So IMP was the biggest gang in Miami. The biggest gang in Miami. They came from folk.
Starting point is 01:03:28 They came out of folk, man. Everywhere, they were everywhere. And they were about it. You know, they were loose. So I happened to go to, I tried to go to the store one day and I'm turning the corner and I'm going to see actually a girlfriend of mine, a Colombian girl in Kendo. Da la casualidad, verdad Colombian girl in Kendall. La casualidad, ¿verdad?
Starting point is 01:03:45 Y they jumped me. So that was the first. Was you like the guy that was singing outside the girl's house? Serenading? Serenading. No, it was a different kind of. OK, it was a different type of jump? How did they jump you?
Starting point is 01:04:02 How can I say? No, no, no, they jumped me. Hey, this what it is. Wait, on the bus? don't you doing like I just turned the corner turn the corner and It was around the store it was on the corner There's the gas stations no, I'm tripping this ain't around your shit this is around back way. Oh That's what I'm thinking when I would get that would get your mixtapes that yeah, you know one second twin I love you, but you definitely walked in with the cocaine face Let's notice he only said I
Starting point is 01:04:49 Definitely give you a cocaine This is called Cuban crack I'm sorry pretty I stopped you man. You want another shot now? I'm so sorry, I stopped you man. You want another shot? I'm going in. I'm going in. I just want to tell y'all this. I say again, I congratulate y'all.
Starting point is 01:05:13 No, no, no, we congratulate you today. No, no, you ain't going to flip the interview or nothing. Through that, music has given me a great outlet to be able to build schools. Now, mind you, I didn't graduate from high school. Wow. But to be able to build schools and have this kind of conversation, I know they love to watch our show
Starting point is 01:05:32 and the whole nine. That's why when we first had the conversation, I said, hey, man, if I come on, let's just make sure I'm all about having fun. I love to get loose. No, we're going to have fun and get loose. You feel me? For sure. Let's do it.
Starting point is 01:05:42 But making sure that the kids, when we speak about certain things and let them know that What we've come from and all the obstacles in life and nobody ever believing in us one way or another That through music a given is giving us a chance to build a school. I mean we're up to 11 now with 10,000 Get back to something because I really admire the fact that you rolled dolo. Yeah, why why not? I don't want anybody no money. No, I'm just I'm just asking like um, cuz you know you Yeah, let me tell you if a motherfucker want to rob me real simple. You got $300 in my pocket. That's all I got. I ain't got bread like that, nigga.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Here's $300. I got a picture of my kid, a picture of my father, and my mother. That's all it is right there. If you want that nigga, knock yourself out. Well, that's party time for somebody, though. But you don't see, like, you know, God bless our Miami is a Jewish role
Starting point is 01:06:46 You already know 50 on top of the You got you got your shot Congratulations get you a gift. You part, you part, yeah. All right. Saludos, Saludos, Saludos. Saludos, Felicidades. Congratulations. People like four cups, Dave. I just want you to know, I admire that though, you know what I'm saying? Because so many people, you know, me personally, I love crowds, I love people, I love showing my people Love love. Yeah, but at the same token I walk through the mall
Starting point is 01:07:29 Sometimes I go dolo and people always just look at me and be like what the fuck is wrong Yeah, I mean I like that cuz you know why I feel like it's one person in that bunch They'll be gonna teach something to and then you go they're going to spread that to the next person, and the next person. It's all about, you know... But let me reiterate and get back to what it is. When EFN said, yo, he said he's coming dolo,
Starting point is 01:07:55 or his people said he's going dolo, and I was like, he's got to be coming dolo with security. Like, that's what dolo means for people at his level. And you actually walked in dolo? I mean, look, which I appreciate that, but I'm going to tell you what it is,
Starting point is 01:08:09 is that a lot of things that I've seen in the game and throughout life, the person, and mind you, we're connected through one of them, by the way, is the person, such as, like, let's say myself, we're not the one that's the problem or the situation. It's everybody around you. They may go, Show me your friends, I'll show you your future.
Starting point is 01:08:34 So I always looked at it, even when I ran around and did whatever I did, because I don't even know what I did, if you know what I'm talking about. I did it by myself. So if I ever find myself in a situation, Can't listen to yourself. I'm going, hmm? They tell you, no,.
Starting point is 01:08:48 You're going, hmm? That's great. You know what I mean? Fulanito. Yo, Taz, I don't know what you're talking about. So therefore, the same thing in the music industry. I wrote the same way. And especially at this level, why?
Starting point is 01:09:02 Because if anybody's going to fuck this up, I'd rather it be me, not somebody I'm hanging with and then they do some dumb shit especially now social media I gotta do is take a picture put a headline next thing you know they got me involved with some shit I ain't gonna do it whether it's a video whether it's a headline cuz it listen and you and I'm sorry to cut you out but you're in the paparazzi bunts like you just hang out with Ricky Iglesias for no reason not man me. That's a funny thing. But I'm just saying you drank with him since 9 o'clock in the morning.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Do you know how much that's pop? That's Mark Anthony's. Oh, Mark Anthony. But I don't know what that's. That's what we're going to call that weed now. A Ricky Mark. A Ricky Mark. I like it. I like it.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Make a voice for Ricky Mark. But you drove here or you took over here? Nah, I got folks. Okay. I definitely got people moving me around the city. I think the. Okay, I hear. Nah, nah. I definitely got people moving me around the city. I think the only other person that came by themselves
Starting point is 01:09:49 was 50. No. No, 50 said, can we all buy it? 50 came here because he know he got hit. No, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 01:09:55 We were in the lady. We were in the lady. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. Let me tell you something. That's what we were at. By the way, I'm going to tell you something.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Besides Fat Joe, they always come by themselves. I'm going to tell you something. That's a sign of respect. Ice-T as well, yeah. Like, when I was in Mal tell you something. Besides Fat Joe, they always come by himself. I'm going to tell you something. That's a sign of respect. I see as well, yeah. Like, when I was in Malibu, sorry, you know, my birthday just passed. I was in Malibu, and I hit Nas, and I said, yo, Nas, you know, we're here. And he said, I'll be there in 10 minutes.
Starting point is 01:10:20 And I automatically was like, yo, you know, he's going to come security down. He came with not one security guard. God bless me. Not one. And it made me feel good about me. Because I was like, damn, that man trusts me. He trusts me. Even though we get malleable and nothing should happen.
Starting point is 01:10:37 But at the end of the day, that's fucking nice. And he came and was like, yo, man, it's your birthday. Put it in the room. And I'm looking. And I'm just so amazed that the man had not one security guard. And that seriously touched me. Well, that's what I told Tom when he hit me.
Starting point is 01:10:53 I said, he's safe with us. That's what he's going to do. That's what I told him. I said, I'm going to go out there. Mind you, what I love about this is we can actually have real conversations without the bullshit that's going on in the world right now. Teach. You know, you can't ask the world right now. Teach, teach. You know, you can't ask.
Starting point is 01:11:07 I see. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Goddamn. Where the mother at? You should have been here. I was trying to spit the verse on Little John so that at least.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Yeah. And I sent it to you. You gotta teach. No, but. So. So. And which, by the way, teaches one of the folks that I owe my career to,
Starting point is 01:11:28 and when the time is right, we're going to have certain conversations about other things on why I even ended up on certain records. Let's just say, you know? But they were asking me, hey, how come you show up here Olo like that? You know, it's crazy, huh? No, by myself.
Starting point is 01:11:43 I'm playing by myself. It's crazy, man, I'm going, you know, it's crazy, huh? No, by myself. Yeah. It's crazy, man. I'm going to be honest. It's crazy. There's nothing that can be logically that can. I mean, it's dope that you rolled Olo. Well, I mean, it was funny. When I met Teach, I lived right up the block.
Starting point is 01:11:56 Teach used to come get me on 28th and North Miami Ave. Literally right up the block. God damn it. So to be here having this conversation with y'all means more to me than you guys really know. You know? And what I say is like, look, one time, one of the guys that connected me heavy with Akon back in the day was a boy out of New Jersey. He had just jumped out.
Starting point is 01:12:16 His name is Screw. My man. Yeah. God bless Screw. Exactly. Yeah, rest in peace. And Screw happened to be with you all exactly and Capone I don't know that story yeah but um God bless to that stuck I don't
Starting point is 01:12:32 know sometimes people ask me about that story they give me get me confused now they think it was you they think it was me because I got the bigger name but it definitely wasn't me I wasn't there that actually never met screw screws a good guy you would like him I promise you Here and he's here with us but what I'm trying to tell you is exactly because of those kind of moments that you're in a situation and someone is just because As much as we call it being real
Starting point is 01:12:55 We're just passionate dog and when you around somebody you feel you got to look out for you willing to do whatever at that moment not understanding what that moment may really Mean in the near future let's just say and that was one of those moments but screw was the one that put me down with akon and this is when the ozone magazine was out and about i was breaking all those down south nobody was looking at us down south but julia beverly was giving us a platform whether it was myself david banner ti little john ak, shit, the list goes on. Starting point is 01:13:27 You name it, you know what I'm saying? Starting point is 01:15:38 Nah. Nah! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. This is the crazy shit. Me and him is on the same driveway every time. I want you to take that. That's how we do it. That's how we do it. That's how our relationship lasts.
Starting point is 01:15:50 We're on the same driveway. Yo, Payton, hold on. Don't take it yet. Hold on, we got to go. This is how me and him, hold on, hold on, hold on. Listen, this is how me and him, we're on the same highway.
Starting point is 01:16:01 What is this? He's on the scenic, or I'm on the scenic, and he's on the other. But we're on the same highway. So is this? He's on the scenic, or I'm on the scenic, and he's on the other. But we're on the same highway. So I don't drink beer, he doesn't drink champagne. I'm not drinking, how you call it? Look at that. Exactly.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Sometimes the answer is yes. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution.
Starting point is 01:17:33 But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else.

I'll then be joined in conversation by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and best-selling author and meat-eater founder Stephen Ranella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here. And I'll say, it seems like the Ice Age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today.
Starting point is 01:19:44 You said I look how youthful I look because I never let that little girl inside of me die. I go outside and run outside with the dogs. I still play like a kid. I laugh. You know, I love jokes. I love funny. I love laughing. I laugh at myself.
Starting point is 01:19:59 I don't take myself too seriously. That's the stuff that keeps you young and stops you from being so hard. This is a story about radical nuns in combat boots and wild-haired priests
Starting point is 01:20:32 trading blows with J. Edgar Hoover in a hell-bent effort to sabotage a war. J. Edgar Hoover was furious. Somebody violated the FBI, and he wanted to bring the Catholic left to its knees. The FBI went around to all their neighbors and said to them, do you think these people
Starting point is 01:20:52 are good Americans? It's got heists, tragedy, a trial of the century, and the goddamnedest love story you've ever heard. I picked up the phone and my thought was, this is the most important phone call
Starting point is 01:21:04 I'll ever make in my life. I couldn't believe it. I mean, Brendan, it was divine intervention. You can now binge all 10 episodes of Divine Intervention on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So did you ever get slack? Celebrando, celebrando. You ever get slack from going,
Starting point is 01:21:28 because like, Slack, slack, slack. Oh yeah, I remember. Because, hold on, hold on, let me just explain why. Because you went from like, the ghetto, it's a ghetto-ish music,
Starting point is 01:21:39 to crunk. Like crunk, crunk is underground for hip hop. Yeah. Like you got to be into hip hop, and into hip-hop, hip-hop. Because Krunk was, like, the underground shit. And you went from the underground to the most biggest stage in the world. Like, you performed in Times Square for New Year's Eve.
Starting point is 01:21:57 You was out there doing your goddamn thing. Yeah, I mean, if it wasn't for, first of all, like I said, I grew up in Miami. Good neighborhoods, bad neighborhoods, worse neighborhoods. I did come up through the underground. I think all of us did, whether it was EFM, whether it was Khaled, myself, Uncle Wildman, he rest in peace. Rick Ross, Trina. Luke Ross, all of us. Trina.
Starting point is 01:22:16 City Girls. Yeah, City Girls doing what they're doing now. I know, let's just say. Shout out Mr. Mauricio. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One time for Mr. Mauricio. Mr. Mauricio in the middle. Right there.
Starting point is 01:22:28 You got City Girls? No, no,, yeah one time for Mr. Maurice Now I'm big teaching house American and all of us that I would say I Go back to nobody ever believed in us But that's what gave us that drive and that's what example why we're having our dinner right now Mama Juana and I don't know what the fuck you're smoking, but I hope it's yours. I'm throwing each other out of the way. Blazin' Suzy, this is what I'm smoking, Blazin' Suzy. So, us coming from the underground and then being able to get on Crunk.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Crunk to me, if you break it down, I broke it down for people before, bass music is... Crunk is... Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm,
Starting point is 01:23:15 Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, So when you go to that, nobody you go to. Five pieces. What do you have? You killed it. You had some stuff going on. But you actually did it. Like you actually worked, it worked. Like you're probably the first person that I could see
Starting point is 01:23:40 did that, like you was super underground. Yes. Super, I don't want to use the word commercial because that's whack but super global now I'll find out I don't like thank you like global like we found a way to cross over and even now with what we got going on there's no album that's gonna come out with Spanish albums doing great for us very much for that what is it called this was called leave it at that 548 which is how many people my father brought over in a boat lift.
Starting point is 01:24:07 Say that again? Libertad, which is liberty, freedom. Okay, yeah, yeah. When you hear it in Scarface, it's Libertad, Libertad. And he brought 548 people over. My first one's called Armando, which is after my father. Armando, that's your first Spanish album. Yeah, my name's Armando.
Starting point is 01:24:22 That's what I said. Armando, do you consider that your all first Spanish album? That wasn't his first Spanish album. That is my first Spanish. So my name is a mother. This is a boy Mondo. Do you consider that your first? Man that's that's cheating I'm like, yo, give me a I thought you did a documentary But we've done a couple of different things. Now it's all coming to life, you know. But to be able to bridge these two worlds together that I think has been overlooked for many, many, many years. When you say those two worlds.
Starting point is 01:24:57 The two worlds as far as the Latin culture. Yes, thank you. All right. And I would say the general public. Now the thing is that between the land culture, blacks, Caribbean, anything that has to do with anything that moves African, we all relate. And that's one thing about hip hop. It's all our culture. Yeah, hip hop, what I love about hip hop is that
Starting point is 01:25:17 hip hop brought everybody together, not through color, through poverty. Like if you were jammed up, shit, I relate to you. So your story, something that's your story that I would listen to, I'm going, damn, that happened to me. And that was the difference. It wasn't really a color thing. It was more of when you're in poverty, it don't matter what color you are. You black, white, pink, purple, you got bread, I got sugar.
Starting point is 01:25:39 You got butter, I got soup. You got this, you got that. How can we help each other? You got Kool-Aid, I got sugar. Plenty of it, huh? Let that thing sit at the bottom, watch out. Exactly, exactly. You know?
Starting point is 01:25:49 But where I'm going with it is that no longer is it, it's not that right now. Now they're trying to find ways to divide everything that we got going on. Everything that we've built, to be honest with you. And it has a lot to do with these tech companies, and I'm glad that you brought up Social Dilemma because Social Dilemma is all about that.
Starting point is 01:26:04 I mean, it's selling dope online, bottom line. So who's the cartel? Is Medellin the cartel? Is Cali the cartel? Is Sinaloa the cartel? Because you know why it's worse than dope? Because at some point on dope or on any other substance abuse, you actually realize that you're hitting rock bottom. You will never realize you're hitting rock bottom on Social Dilemma. But they said in Social Dilemma, he has a great line. He says line He says you don't know how you're gonna know the matrix if you don't know you're in the matrix If you're me now the other great line at the users they use they say it said he said he said only two Industries that call their customers users is software companies and drug drugs illegal drugs So it will be back we picking up social dilemma right now. We got no socks and so we get a documentary
Starting point is 01:26:44 I don't. It just spoke to us. But it is what it is. And I hope that we, especially for the generation coming up, we wake them up. You feel me? Because it was different. Even, you know what you should do during this one? Look up when I spoke at the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Starting point is 01:27:01 Songwriters Hall of Fame. Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York. Check it out. It was me Jay-z Berry Gordy Ed Sheeran Bon Jovi all of us got man, but I went off on that Tom can get you Tom can get you that footage and why I went off was off of myspace It could be, maybe that is some. What are we talking about here, man? Oh, yeah, my bad, my bad, my bad. But it could get you the footage, and where I went with it is because 30 to 40% of all these social platforms owe all their evaluations to music.
Starting point is 01:27:39 If it wasn't for music, there'd be no Facebook. If it wasn't for music, there wouldn't be no Apple. Nothing goes my way. It wouldn't be no goddamn Twitter, Twitter, Clutter, Snapchat, TikTok, whatever you want to call it, you know what I'm saying? So all of that, we, there's a lot of money getting stuck to the gum under the table for artists that help blow that up, Spotify, all of that.
Starting point is 01:27:59 And I'm a big advocate on that, because if you put the numbers together, me personally, I got close to at this point 20 billion views on YouTube. That's talk about it. Official, right? That's talk about it. But if I had a dollar, and I appreciate y'all clapping it up, but y'all being some Miami boys at this point, clap it up when each one of them are worth a dollar and I come back with $20 billion. So therefore, that's where is that?
Starting point is 01:28:26 YouTube dog that's just you too. There's a streaming game. Okay. Yeah, but that's just me Okay, I'm just saying if we get this message out the people's like yeah, them numbers look nice, but that's a facade That's just smokey mirrors. They see don't mean nothing So it's a bunch of views to make some other company a bunch of bread That at the end of the day with a driving force So it goes back to that independent mentality. It goes back to what Luke drove in me some other company a bunch of bread, that at the end of the day, we're the driving force. So, it goes back to that independent mentality. It goes back to what Luke drove in me.
Starting point is 01:28:49 It goes back to my grandmother being a rebel next to Fidel Castro. My aunt being a political prisoner in Cuba. My mother fleeing through Pedro Pan, Peter Pan. My father bringing over Mario Boatlift. That's our mentality. We look at shit and we going, what you mean we can't take that? Of course we we can it just may be more chest race a creed. I just feel rich right now
Starting point is 01:29:10 Yeah, I hope you get a check from Creed. I ain't getting on check with Queenie The different was the difference what's the different shit? What's the other shit that I am? What's the, none of y'all niggas? That you are? I'm a different queen, this is imperial. No, this is adventist. I'm a imperial guy.
Starting point is 01:29:36 I apologize. You still smell good? You don't smoke weed? We gonna make it home. Nah, you know, here and and there not in this kind of atmosphere You say we're gonna make a thing some you know, we're gonna make our own listen could we I definitely need a liquor connect But I'm gonna do wine this this is way too. We're definitely doing it's way too hard called You gotta love this guy man
Starting point is 01:30:05 I'm here to listen to you Miami boys right? Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna New York guy You're Miami boy now at this point a little bit and look he loved in Kendall even New York the big apple Miami to pan out Miami the pineapple This is really good. Hold on, hold on, wait for me. You Miami boys is too fast. Salud. Salud. All right, yo, to pinball, make some noise! Woo! Woo! Woo!
Starting point is 01:30:51 Fuck that, the trim chair! Woo! Woo! Woo! We together. Ooh. It's a blessing, man, to be able to shoot this shit with y'all.
Starting point is 01:31:01 And more than anything, to be able to do it on some real shit. And you got an album coming out soon? Don't skip what we was talking about, guys. Come on, man. Look, there's a lot of things happening. We're very blessed. But I go back to if every view we got a dollar for, if I'm at 20 billion views, it'd be $20 billion.
Starting point is 01:31:17 And what label you signed to now? I don't got a label I'm signed to, but we independent. You got tech incubators that you sponsor, right? We got, well, we're a part of a, it's called Emerge Americas, which is all the startups coming out of Latin America, that they were all shut down in Silicon Valley, Silicon Alley, Silicon Paradise. But here, we've given them a platform. I've had that, we've had that for eight years with a partner of mine. And it's been great for us to be honest with you and we've created i think two unicorn companies at this point meaning companies that are worth more than a
Starting point is 01:31:50 billion dollars and mind you i'm glad that teach is here by the way showing up talking about hey i see you show up olo but you see how it is i just show up olo and somehow some way them angels show up you feel me and teach was one of the first guys to ever put me on to tech at that level. I would say maybe 2011 or 2012, Teach put me on the Uber, if I'm not mistaken. So he's always had his eyes on that. When it comes to me and I see opportunity, I just always look at how do we get a piece of what they got going on. And earn our keep. I'm not trying to take
Starting point is 01:32:26 food out your mouth, I'm just trying to bring food to the table. You're just being beneficial, that's it. That's it. So through music now and everything that's come to life, if artists were to, in layman terms, wake the fuck up, they would see that if you bring everybody together, the kind of numbers that we can bring together,
Starting point is 01:32:47 we can run a network. We can run them boys to cut a certain deal. But everybody's so caught up in this vanity and this bullshit, that if you look at the names, it's called followers and likes. I never been around followers and likes. I've been around leaders and unique. I run around motherfuckers that's different.
Starting point is 01:33:02 You're different, EFN different, Crazy Hood was different, Teach different motherfuckers that's different. You're different, your friend different, crazy hood was different, teach different, everything, Mauricio different, anything we ever did, we were different at what we did, and that's why we attracted to each other, and then wanted to help each other. So believe it or not, I looked forward to, for a long time, to have this kind of conversation,
Starting point is 01:33:19 because where I'm at, and about, I have to be very, almost every interview I do is like a goddamn fucking deposition. And I'm like, man, careful what you speak about here. You know, you're on MSNBC, you're on CNBC, you're on this, you're on that. Places that you'd never think that you're on Bloomberg. Which, mind you, they looking at me like, this boy's a throwaway. Which, we already know that feeling, right? I'm looking at their game going, oh, you don't even know what's about to happen.
Starting point is 01:33:48 So to have this kind of conversation and you're saying, coño, tengo mi aguadiente. I got, ¿cómo se llama esto? La michelada. Go meet you, coach. Michelada. Coño, that's coming up. The infant formula coming soon. Este tiene colonia.
Starting point is 01:33:59 No sé qué lleva. Está fumando. I need your help, Pitbull. Can you help me get some type of liquor somewhere? Yeah, we can make it happen. Mira, Candela. Continue your speech. Mama Wanda, I'm going to skip on that one.
Starting point is 01:34:11 And shout out to Yubi also that was a part of your victory. Yubi always show me love, man. Everybody in Hialeah, ya tu sabes. Hialeah, agua, fangu, y factoria. Shout out to Yubi there. Ya se, hoy, Hialeah, agua, fango, y factoria, chusmeria, y un poquito de puteria. You just did the Cuban presentation. I Vintage frames I needed these I needed these
Starting point is 01:35:01 It wasn't also $500 of champagne And you know, it's crazy. We were part of the same company. We were Podcast One. So I got... Oh, you got a podcast now, too? Well, yeah, we got a podcast. So now you know... Oh! Of course, of course, of course. Come on, you signed with niggas already?
Starting point is 01:35:15 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fuck with the y'all. We like the mafia, bro. We John Gotti over here, bro. We got shit, bro. Why you going over there with Frank Costello and them niggas? Come on.
Starting point is 01:35:24 You good? You on. You good? Yeah, I'm good. You good? You good? You know what's funny? Is that you got to drink a little more. You got four different drinks over there. I'm honest, bro.
Starting point is 01:35:32 I'm worried about you right now. I'm participating. You are participating. I'm all about participating. Because you know, I'm on like a one and one. That's it. You go on. You fucking with everything.
Starting point is 01:35:42 Can you take a shot as a killer right now? Can you do it? No, I'll tell you what. You want to not tell you what you want to play a game? Alright it's the Jeffrey trust me. We already had white boy Tommy this game It's a good-ass game though by the way, because if anybody know how to drink is them white boys. Yes All right, but I feel like I'm not gonna participate I'm gonna participate All right, no
Starting point is 01:36:13 You got he got new cups right there Man honest What we got we got a little bit of mama Juana because that's what we got a little bit of my marijuana because that's what we got My father like to drink And my little bit. No, you're going to have to put a little bit of.. Yo, why is he a fucking cosigner? Let me get that rosé.
Starting point is 01:36:53 I'm talking about. Let me get that. Let me get that. That's for $100. Man. Oh! That was a $50 little stretch. That was at least $275.
Starting point is 01:37:04 All right, cool. That's $2775. All right, cool. $2.75. All right, cool. Move on. So this is what is called dirty fingers. I don't like it. I put a finger, you put a finger. It's only three of us, Papito. I'm gonna have to do this. Come on, man. I gotta be a part of this shit? I'm not Cuban.
Starting point is 01:37:20 Get up, man. Come on. All right, cool. So it's a practice run. Okay, you say this one one two three and then you got to figure out The fingers that are gonna stay on the cup and that's how you get out So if I say one two, three two boom y'all to I'm out. You know what I'm saying? No, I do not give what you saying Yeah, Cuban Charlie I'm sorry you from you from Miami. Let me get murder mook in here, Just in case I violate any New York rules, you did it with me, alright? I don't know what the fuck I'm doing right now and what's going on.
Starting point is 01:38:12 I'm teaching you some shit. Come over here. Where's he go- we're long over there? Right there, right there. Don't matter where you're at. Alright, alright, alright, Murda Moop. I don't know what this is. Don't call me tomorrow and tell me-
Starting point is 01:38:24 There you go, alright. Alright, so we got four fingers, right? Yes, you guys say one two three. I'm gonna go first and figure out how many fingers gonna stay on the cup So it goes one by one. Starting point is 01:44:39 I saw them boys go at some shit over a CeeLo game. And because Buddy had a 4-5-6, and that 4 dropped on a crack of the cement. That's no good. Yeah, well, and that became gunplay. You know, like all of a sudden, everybody, yee, yee, yee, I'm going over some dice. I still don't gamble on that. You got to think some rules in the beginning. No, no, no, I didn't say rules, but you know how it is.
Starting point is 01:45:02 Somebody come and stop banging. Somebody come and stop banging. They saying they roll that 4-5-6. They saying head crack. beginning like so but you know how it is somebody coming if I say I'm gonna come and stop banging this and it wrote at four five six they say a head crack they say that's my shit boy but if my rules say if it's my bank right my bank you could stop my bank right now it could be probably 15,000 and you could stop my whole bank but my rules though so if I say dice hot in the sky whatever whatever number is closest to the sky, which they're showing the most, that's my rules.
Starting point is 01:45:29 That's what you're going to win. You understand? So even if you run like this... No, he don't understand at all. No, I feel you. He absolutely does. I understand. It's the man who got the bank rules. I got you. The one motherfucker got the bank rules.
Starting point is 01:45:41 I'm going to tell you how Rasta say it. Me don't understand. Me always trying. Yeah, yeah. And with that said, it's time. Yeah. Yeah And with that said is this that's exactly I'm in Vegas. I'm right by the casino straight to my room do my soul. I'm out this bitch a better It's a little bit. She always fun though. Let me say those fun. You got the key to Miami That's funny man. I keep on got the key I got the key to shit. I like I like they gave me the key to the basement. Hey fucking with me They gave you the key to your city
Starting point is 01:46:27 Three times They ain't fucking with me. They gave you the keys to your city. One, two, three times. Yeah, they gave you three times? Wait, so how many doors is that? I can't even get out of a parking ticket, pun, to be honest with you. But I'm still trying to figure out if it opens motels. It's the only city of Miami? Only city of Miami. But don't play it like that.
Starting point is 01:46:42 Stop. You got the key three times? No, listen to me. The folks that Don't play it like that. Stop. You got the key three times? No, that's a little bit. No, I mean, listen to me. OK. The folks that are politicians in this city relate to the. Andrew Gullivan? Because that nigga out there, wow. Andrew Gullivan?
Starting point is 01:46:55 You don't know who that I'm talking about? You talking about somebody else. No, he was trying to go to governor. Oh, he in Florida. Wow. Yeah, but you going to some other place. You going to D.V. 1, 2, 3, 7.
Starting point is 01:47:06 That's what you just did right now. You didn't see Andrew. He's not hearing me. He's never seen a strap. Niggas see you and say, hey, that's a 7. They say, this ain't craps, motherfucker. Yo, they just homie dirty. You didn't see the homie do that?
Starting point is 01:47:19 They did homie dirty. This is homie dirty. Listen, listen. Or he's a. It's how you know he did the homie dirty. Like, they had. But that's not Miami. Don't't hold me dirty. Listen, listen. Or he's a country. Just so you know, he did it. Just so you know, he did it. He didn't hold me dirty. Like, they had, they can have. But that's not Miami. Don't put that on Miami.
Starting point is 01:47:28 That's Florida. You're trying to go Governor Ford, man. That's Florida. Listen, so I'm watching. He said, they don't even ask him this shit. He's like, I just wanted you to know, before you ask me, I did, I was bisexual. He's like, yo, this nigga's fucked up.
Starting point is 01:47:42 Like, he said it. He said, you didn't even ask even asked me but he just wanted to put his wife is right there but she's straight face y'all this is not good little girl for Florida no that was definitely one two seven I love you guys as far as to get up there's a, and say fuck it, let's ride. Because yeah, it becomes something else. This is what the fuck I'm talking about. We got the spirits with us too.
Starting point is 01:48:12 You know what's so lovely? Yeah, you got right there. With the candle, we got the spirits with us. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what I'm doing. They always told me, when a person show up in white pants, he getting a lot of money. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Starting point is 01:48:36 Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Oh, you're such a son of a. They always told me, when a person show up in white pants, he getting a lot of money. Yeah! Yeah!
Starting point is 01:48:48 Yeah! Told you. God damn it, my brother. That's that real man. Oh, man. So was there ever a time where, like, I don't know. It was fun. It was fun.
Starting point is 01:48:58 I had it was fun a long time. That's right. I appreciate it, man. Please, please, please come back. And you got, when is the album dropping? It's very soon. I don't motherfucking know. You got something next week. What's streaming?
Starting point is 01:49:07 Live streaming? Some shit. He don't even know. He's over here. Now we got the podcast on Live by Live, which is the same company that we're a part of. Podcast One, a podcast called Negative to Positive. Negative to Positive, and then we have the paper that's coming out
Starting point is 01:49:28 So that'll come out October 10th and 17th Which is basically putting out a concert in this world that we live in it right now where there's a pandemic scan them it clean Look, whatever you wanna call it because you know you get 30,000 people will show Oh, I've been very very blessed. How you gonna throw on the concert right now? You know, it's actually Last you virtual not it's gonna be a virtual concert won't be a live stream it's something that we pre-recorded it's a pay-per-view okay oh I got you the livestream is something else that I'm working on with somebody else right now but either or in this day and age I'm hoping that people see as quick as you get it it's like dope money. Come quick, leave quick.
Starting point is 01:50:06 So when it comes to technology, exactly what it is. You got instant gratification thing. You can touch as many people with it as quick as they want to go. They can pull it from you. And right now we're talking about, are we talking about a virus? A virus? That's what we're talking about. SIRS, MERS, BIRD, SWINE, Ebola,
Starting point is 01:50:22 now Corona. Come on, folks. I mean, you gotta really, you gotta read the tea leaves, bro. You gotta, the devil's in the details. And with that said is, if you look at the recovery numbers on what we're talking about, I don't know what it is, but I guess the flu went on vacation on this year. Heart attacks went on vacation this year.
Starting point is 01:50:41 Everything went on vacation this year when it came to, I'm talking about, you know, what we're going through right now. And let's just call it a spade a spade. And the reason I can have this conversation is because my family comes from communism. They fled communism. They had everything taken away from them. Everybody got murdered. Everybody got killed.
Starting point is 01:50:56 And that's the reason me being a first generation Cuban American or maybe us being first-generation Cuban-American, I look at freedom and I appreciate that shit. I appreciate opportunity. I appreciate anything that you give me. All I need is a little slip, partner, and I got you. And that comes from the fact that when Castro took over everything, and I'm looking at what's going on right now, the only person here that's hot, 38 hot, is Castro.
Starting point is 01:51:27 He's going, y'all did it with a virus? Shit. Y'all took over the world with a virus? Y'all got to be kidding me. He had missiles pointed to the United States of America during the Russian Mr. Christ. During the Bay of Pigs and what they went on through. So this shit gets deep. The only thing is, do you want to realize how deep it is? That's the way I look at this shit. And even going into this, I don't know if y'all know
Starting point is 01:51:49 about this, but might as well put it out there, especially in your show, because y'all got folks that need this more than anybody. We all need it. There's a rehearsal that went on before this whole shit. It's called Event 201. October 18th, 2019, this shit came out. It was ran by the John Hopkins University,
Starting point is 01:52:12 which is in cahoots with Bill Gates, Melinda Gates Foundation. And this was a complete rehearsal of what we did right now. You can look at this up. They had a patent, too, just to let them know. They had an actual patent for coronavirus. From 2004. Like a patent. A patent.
Starting point is 01:52:29 Their name is on it. So therefore, you have a segment where it says, segment financial, what are we going to do? Segment travel, what are we going to do? Segment what are we going to do when it comes to online? And it said, if anybody is not a part of the narrative, we're going to take it off online, which to me smells like communism. You feel me?
Starting point is 01:52:48 And obviously that's what our families lived through, and I'm sure all of our families have similar stories. After Buddy and them did that, which the main doctor that was there, his name was George Fugau. I might not remember the verse off. Fucking, the verse I was trying to speak, but I remember George Fugau. You remember Fugau. I might not remember the verse off fucking the verse I was trying to spit but I remember George Fugow. George Fugow is the main doctor for the CDC in
Starting point is 01:53:13 China and a virologist out of Wuhan. It's real shit now. Right? Now here's where I go. After all of that happens to be about a month later, all the main CEOs in the world, pardon me, major companies, resign. About a thousand and some change. So that means they pull out high, that means they take the ride high, and then they buy low.
Starting point is 01:53:43 Well everything went whoom, God knows what they did or they didn't do, but I know I'm talking about Disney, Hulu, Microsoft, Nike, Wells Fargo, Boeing, you name it, you look at them. And this is the part that I got to talk to the world about is that that's the tail wagging the dog, partner. Well, y'all worried about followers and likes and who's on TikTok and Instagram.
Starting point is 01:54:03 Mind you, when I was growing up and Instagram was real simple. Here's a 20 bag. Here's an Instagram. No, no, no. Right. That's a fact. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 01:54:14 That's a fact. Real shit. So I know I'm going to give you this and you're going to get high. Now it's like, hey, look, by the way, here's an Instagram. I want you to picture the bag, the product in it, and I promise you it's going to get you high. I'm sorry, Pedro. It's a bunch of bullshit. Now go ahead's an Instagram. I want you to picture the bag the product in it And I promise you is gonna get you out Not a spill this is a real champagne Oprah See this is a champagne guy champagne in Aurora. No, no, I know so when I'm coming back. We're making a new word champagne of her
Starting point is 01:54:36 I Like that Yeah, I know you just to cut you up I just feel like yeah, I think it's OB everything for making me drink some shit like Yeah, I never figured it out yeah, so The best sit on the planet right now. We're calling you Ace of Spades. All right, well, you're the beautiful. You're watching it now, Ace of Spades. You can't be mad. You're the big homie of the store.
Starting point is 01:55:07 Oh, shit, that's my shot glass. Oh, shit. Yeah. You got this, man. You got this. Fuck it, man. Fuck it. Bro, continue though.
Starting point is 01:55:14 No, no, but all I'm saying is, look, man, I hope everybody wake up with what we got going on. And bottom line, what it is, people so connected, they're disconnected. And they take so many pictures, they miss the big picture. Let me ask you I got one very serious question. Yeah, give me the now are you on and now you ready very serious? Yes, sir Do you ask I'ma tell you a funny story out there. I'ma tell you a ass-assin' story. Never before in a thrift shop. I'ma tell you a ass-assin' story.
Starting point is 01:55:48 Oh shit! I lived in South Miami Heights. Same spot that I told you about, buddy. We cooked that yin-yang. South of the color range, down the street from Google's. We bought an apartment over there. So I'm hanging around a lot of black folks at the time. And they're going like, nah, nah, nah. So you say you around a lot of black folks at the time and they're going like no no no
Starting point is 01:56:05 You say you eat the ass from black folks? No listen I'm trying to tell you You gotta listen man I'm gonna tell you like Luke told me You know when you take the word listen and you flip it up and know what it is Silent motherfucker Listen is silent Let me relax let me calm my back
Starting point is 01:56:20 So how did you start eating ass? I got you So buddy said no and I got a good one for you watch play with you getting up and all that Yeah, I respect the white pants So therefore and you got the old-school wire vet I'm saying I'm not good at it. I'm not good at it. I'm fucking fantastic. Go ahead. I'm hanging out and they're saying, we don't need no pussy.
Starting point is 01:56:55 And down here, they call pussy cock. Is this Jamaicans you work with? No, this was Jamaicans. Straight black Americans I was hanging with, banging with the whole night. So I told my Cuban friend that takes me out of street His name is Eddie Dalgo and Eddie man you when you rest in in paradise of them. He's the only ass either I don't know if you know He doesn't know my dad's beautiful. So now the horse for any swimming bag
Starting point is 01:57:21 And I'm at Hooters in Coconut Grove with Eddie. He takes me. I'm 16 at the time. And I tell him, no, I don't eat no pussy. He said, you don't eat what? I said, no, listen, you're fucking Cuban. Not only do you eat pussy, you eat ass. And I said, oh shit, right? The pussy.
Starting point is 01:57:42 He telling me that. You got the picture from it? He got it. I was in the car. He telling me that. You got the picture from him? He got an ID. He got an S-E-N card. He went to the pawn shop and he gave you an ID. That make you get your S-E-N ID. That's your new shit. I got to look for it, right?
Starting point is 01:57:50 He's got his concealed S-E-N permit. What are you doing? Got my friend Eddie. Oh shit. That my friend Eddie. Yeah, you real old school. And this is my soul, right? I love it.
Starting point is 01:57:58 You got pictures of your wallet. That my dog Eddie. Look, in 2003, that's when I signed my first record deal with TVT right there 2003 And then this is me 2013 in in India in Mumbai And he always told me never be a waste of talent That's why I was always with me right never be a waste of time. So he told he told the Hooters Waitress beautiful girl. He's like bring me a penny
Starting point is 01:58:28 She said bring me a penny now He said he bring me a penny to her so she brings a penny and he put the penny on the table That's why I roll with a penny look at the penny. I got boom. He wrote with a penny I said what's that? He said take that penny and lick it mother fucker. That's what it tastes like That's right I'm not licking that shit Lick that motherfucking penny That's what. I said, I'm not licking that shit. He said, lick that motherfucking penny. I said, that's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like.
Starting point is 01:58:50 That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. That's what ass tastes like. Oh I Yo, I love this shit. You guys got a great track, man. Starting point is 02:00:19 I ain't going to lie. I just licked my wife's ass last night. That ass hit you. You didn't have a penny. Who has a penny, man? I ain't going lie, I just licked my wife's ass last night. That's it. That's it. You ain't got a penny. I ain't gonna hold you. I ain't gonna hold you. I ain't need a penny. I was a nasty nigga since I was young.
Starting point is 02:00:36 I had an uncle. My uncle. My uncle said he never fucked with no condoms. He said, ever. He said, nigga, I'm in a gangsta. I'm never letting no shit like a bitch gonna take me out. That was his favorite shit. You want a shot of Syrah?
Starting point is 02:00:51 I'll take a shot of Syrah. Yeah, I'm gonna grab a shot of Syrah. I'm definitely taking a shot of Syrah. Is this new? Yeah, this is what I'm drinking. What you fucking doing? This is the watermelon. Don't tell anybody.
Starting point is 02:01:01 I'm going to tell you how fucked up it is to kind of like be like in my family, right? Like my grandfather, I've told this story before. My grandfather and like my older brother, because you know I'm black and Puerto Rican. Yeah. So like I'm like 11 years old. They don't even say hi to me like really. They're just like, yo, Papito, come here.
Starting point is 02:01:26 So I'm like, what's up? They're like, you eating pussy yet? This is my grandfather, bro. I like that guy. This doesn't happen in the black community. In the black community? Like, you know your grandfather telling you, yo, you should grow some vegetables.
Starting point is 02:01:40 You know what I'm saying? He tell you some cool shit. This is how I met, like, my grandfather. What's his name? Victor? No, no. He's VT. He's passed away.
Starting point is 02:01:52 But he gets me in the corner, him and my older brother. And they're like, yo, they're looking at me up and down. Like, OK, how you ain't pussy yet? And I'm 11 years old, y'all. 11? 11. Okay Happy pussy There's nothing wrong with you pussy Papa brothers. No 11 no, bro I'll go back to the hood niggas is like niggas. Don't we put You even put your pussy ass So I'm conflicted on one part, this is my grandfather. That's a lot to deal with at 11 years old right there. Yeah, I don't think I ate pussy.
Starting point is 02:02:49 Why you asking about them Jamaicans? Are they saying you think it's? Well, the Jamaicans ain't eating shit. Shit, yeah. Them Jamaicans. Oh, no, them Jamaicans. Tray, you eat pussy? I do now, but I'm on the back.
Starting point is 02:02:58 You eat pussy. You eat Jamaican. Oh, my god. But at first, you ain't eat no pussy. I wasn't, but I was my age at the time. But he ain't about nothing. He crazy about being a pussy. Real black people, what do you hang around with?
Starting point is 02:03:12 Latinos? You fucking a pussy. Yeah, you got that. We're really conflicted with y'all. And by the way, the Jamaicans were like the first slaves, like I'm sorry. They dropped y'all first, yeah. Like for real. Like no, for real like no for real so that's why you're so mad
Starting point is 02:03:44 first time in Jamaica I swear to God me. My first time in Jamaica, I swear to God, I swear to God. My first time in Jamaica, I walked through a grandmother walked over my two brand new Air Force Ones with her car.
Starting point is 02:03:57 And I looked at her and said, where one Yankee boy? She finally did it. And I was walking. I'm looking at my grandma. one Yankee boy yeah yeah I went too far now believe it or not it's not a joke not to make it's one that Jamaicans are pirates that's what you make us a known

Starting point is 02:04:41 Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers, seven, go. There you go. There you go. Say it again, Pip. Say you said Jamaicans was pirates? The original pirates.
Starting point is 02:04:51 The original pirates were Jamaicans. So they fought where they would go out. So when that guy say, it's my boat now. I am the captain. They still doing that shit though. That came from Jamaica. It picked up now in the Caribbean. They enjoy what they got going on.
Starting point is 02:05:06 Yeah, but why tough? They tough. You know, anything they say they going to do. That's why that grandmother was like your Yankee boy. You know what I'm saying? She shut me down. I hurt my feelings. I looked at her and I wanted to snuff her.
Starting point is 02:05:17 You know what would have been fun? She would have said, why go on your pussy all the time? I would have snuffed her at that point. You know what you call it though? I'm going gonna tell you why never like I don't see you can't take that shit personal though cuz the way like how they is what you know they they way worse for like they children oh shit like they like a couple my always like they was grew up in a pure Jamaican like household. And it's like that shit is almost like you'd be like, damn, you know, when a nigga grow up, how we used to get beat with, you know, saying extension cords in the brooms.
Starting point is 02:05:53 Right. They voice hurt. Like when they talk to them, all of that, like that shit hurt. Like you'd be like, damn. And they can't do nothing. Like they come out the door creek. It'd be like different type of shit like you think when you young you think I fool like you think everything voodoo Were you little so I'm like yo these motherfuckers is casting they go. I am I'm good on Yeah
Starting point is 02:06:23 Yeah Yeah, yeah Yeah You know racism or no? Yeah, man. I'm a relationship with with life. Okay, so how many bitches you not? I'm married man. I've been mad and I'm happily married Like as you walk through I could tell your fingers you still finger popping shit I've been very blessed to have great people in my life and one thing I've learned how to do is keep everything under the radar. That's right. That's it. So the people that I love dearly and very special to me,
Starting point is 02:07:13 you notice that when people move to good neighborhoods, what do they do? They put up gates and palm trees or trees or whatever the fuck to be able to so that nobody else can see what you got, your property. So I got a chance to get up in the game speaking parable anybody got no amen anything any chance I got anybody I love in my life I protect them like to keep them away from social media the ones we didn't just that? You had a great life. Just a minute. Just a minute. Like, come on. I've had a, you know what they say.
Starting point is 02:07:47 Anybody who wears white pants has a lot of pussy. I'm going to tell you what they say, Rob. I'm just being honest. I'm going to tell you what they do, what they don't, what they did, what they done. OK, OK, OK. All right. And mind you, when you tell Trick Daddy,
Starting point is 02:07:59 he say, Trick, what they do, he say, whatever we tell them. So I can't tell you this much. In Vegas, they say what tell you this much in Vegas they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas what happens in Miami never happened so anytime I have fun anything I'm not done is it international water thing I have to be clear mr. 305 for a long time you after in weekend blesses and J Lo and Enrique churches and Richard churches and um Usher and then every countries and we took churches and Usher and neo and you had that sweet fucking real girl records like it's at the coming cry They got some fun panty storm that you on stage before. Bitch, come on, yo, what's good? BJF, what's happening? I'm like, you're big and all that. You know what's crazy with that? I'm sorry. You gotta be with New York to understand. We understand it, and the thing is, I know a lot of motherfuckers that came to Miami
Starting point is 02:09:21 were the athletes, artists, and they all been robbed. Oh, yeah. They not not going to play hard. Yeah. By bitches from Rolex, from Coco, from Tate One. I didn't even get to the KOD. That was by me. I'll tell you a funny story, Pitt. One time, this is like in the 90s.
Starting point is 02:09:36 I'm with a chick. And, you know, I'm just on my New York shit. So I get out and a dude talks to he got the goals on he got all This shit he goes And I look and I like, you know to me He said to her yo bitch come here Related at New York you call the piss a bitch she gonna stab you
Starting point is 02:10:05 Really call a bitch Talking to tourists. That's a big difference. That's one of the Miami niggas talking to different people. All right, you know what? I don't want to defend that. Because you know what? I'm not positive of where this took place. So you know what? I might.
Starting point is 02:10:34 But let me finish my story. Everybody say salvation. Let me finish my story. Because that chunk right there, I will give it to you. Let me finish my story. No, let me finish my story. This is a real shit. Either that or set you up for a real shit. And when finish my story. No, let me finish my story. This is a real shit. Either that or set your foot real, yeah.
Starting point is 02:10:45 This is a real shit. And when she walked away, she said to me, you know, just so you know, those are the type of dudes I talk to. The dudes with the goals that say, yo, bitch, put it on. And that was the opposite of what we, I kid you not, I'm not making this up. I'll take my food. So, what you was doing? I don't know.
Starting point is 02:11:04 I've been high for a long time. I'm not making this up. I'll take my so what you was this do I don't know we After she like not talk to us I'm not That's why Trina's called the baddest bitch, right you feel me so when you walk up on somebody play what they do bitch It's like yeah what they do where I It's like a Bitch Hey, bitch, nah. You're not saying that. You need to hear this. That's the way you got to say it. That's the way you need to be. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Trina, if you look at her first, that was she the baddest bitch.
Starting point is 02:11:49 But you're not going, hey, bitch, come in. Like, that's not it. You're not going to talk to her that way. I've seen it happen before. And I've seen it with a girl that I was with in the 90s. And she said, just so you know, because I was, I dissed these niggas when they walked away. I was like, oh, shit, you too?
Starting point is 02:11:59 And she was like, yo, just so you know, if I wasn't with you, those are the type of niggas I talk to. And I was like, oh, shit. Bitch, I got schooled. I got schooled. Bitch, I'm the kid next to you. I'm the one, bitch. And I'm calling her bitch.
Starting point is 02:12:12 She already walked in. You know, I'm trying to be Puerto Rican. I'm going out like, this is the 90s, 99. It's just like that. I'm going on short and mighty. And no, she wanted to be called bitch. I'm trying to straight up be in a minority. I've never seen some shit as far as bitch come out of context.
Starting point is 02:12:28 Bitch come in and pop me. Like I say, Trina, the baddest bitch. Like in the tournament, dear me. Yo, that's a bad bitch right there. Watch out, that's a bad bitch. And mind you, living here in Wynwood, if anything bad, whether a woman or a man, they would say, Hey, as an example, yo, that bitch so bad, she paint the devil pink, tie him up with his own tail, threw him in the corner. We say, ooh, that's a bad bitch. You feel me?
Starting point is 02:12:50 So it all depends on what context. That sounds like how pussy go on the end, turners, and sunshines. That's what it sounds like. I mean, you know, if you ever seen Harlem Lights. That's what it sounds like, bro. Go ahead, continue. No, but just so. And that's fun times. Yeah, we know when the time is right. I remember exactly where we was at. I'm supposed to even take that We type of queens they get niggas come out the club It was a different time and see you getting beat up With door a instead of like running over there like helping to get just chill and see which shows a different type of time pit Yo, it's true. Yeah Cameron was on that album too shit now, yeah, it was uh, I Mean to learn from Luke there was no better ultimate. There was no better to teach you Luke besides the music we know the Independence now you teach you how to finger pop Watch the footage though
Starting point is 02:21:44 When we when we used to be out the kind of things that were happening man Oh my God And the dances and what they would do All great girls by the way, entrepreneurs to be honest with you But they were doing what they needed to do at the time, right? Let me ask you, do you think finger popping is still in style? Does it go out of style? I'm not sure, I'm asking
Starting point is 02:22:01 He said finger popping? Finger popping, you think? Yeah, yeah, yeah Every now and then when you go with it Like I said, man, I come from the school of hard knocks and Luke in them. No, sir You think finger pop is out of style You want me to give you a finger? Hey, smell my finger. Tell me what they do. What they do. I smelled your shit from over here. I felt like it was it. You still in action, brother.
Starting point is 02:22:30 You out here in action, bro. I'm a married man, but I like to live vicariously, too, you guys. You know what the Cuban say? Deja la mujer la esa para la mentita, brother. I don't know what the fuck that means. What does that mean? What did that mean? I mean, keep the molus for the dentist.
Starting point is 02:22:44 In Spanish, it makes more sense, though. Yeah, keep the molars for the dentist. Like, mmm. In Spanish, it makes more sense, though. Yeah, like the gang. Keep the gang. Yeah, like running gang. No, no, no, facts. For lack of a better term, you're knocking a lot of shit down right now.
Starting point is 02:22:52 I'm not doing what now? You're knocking a lot of shit down. You're knocking everything down. You're not. Oh, you say you in a relationship? I'm enjoying myself, man. Not in a relationship. So that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:23:02 You're knocking a lot of shit down. Goddamn. Listen, I live v my carriers to you guys Hello, this guy's an instigator Look you know I'm say so one day one day. I'm chilling with my home It is the worst compliment you could ever have and my hom says, I could go to jail with you. Your homie told you that? Yes. The worst compliment you could ever have.
Starting point is 02:23:32 That sounds weird, bro. That's like a, ah. But to a nigga that did 10 years? Oh, I get it. I get it. He can understand. It makes sense. It makes sense.
Starting point is 02:23:39 I got a phone. That makes sense. He don't want to do it to me. I say, I'm living a fucked up life. I need different friends. Oh, shit. That up life. I need different I need different friends. Okay Water tequila with the water I drank some vodka with the water. Yeah, you gotta keep it going I thought it was like salsa water. No
Starting point is 02:23:58 Regular water. What do you mean to keep you going? Yeah, man, you put some water Into it You like to drink. I man you put some water into it You like to drink handy-rammy boom drop some water You said about your friend telling me you'd be cool to hang with in prison and shit. That's that's terrible That's like, you know, what is it a joke that a woman can tell you make you mad and sad at the same time I'm not sure. Yeah, he say out of all your friends. You got the biggest dick I wouldn't even bring this up. Every Stone looking at his notes. No, I got no The only reason I wouldn't even bring this up no man, but he brings it up on a lot of dream chance, okay He has his version of a story
Starting point is 02:25:19 All right I want to hear what if he even remembers the story I doubt it. And I'm only bringing it up because he brings it up in Drink Champs a lot. I love this story. You know, me and Nori have a very big record together, which was Gasolina when we did the remix. God damn it. Yo, let me tell you something. We're ganking them. Yo, listen.
Starting point is 02:25:33 Let's go possible. Hold on. Tell me. Let me just say something. I'm looking at the other day. I'm going to some store, and Gasolina comes on. And it says, she's playing Little John and Pitbull. So I'm like, oh, OK, maybe this is the version
Starting point is 02:25:48 they use without me. Oh, my god. Yo, listen, Daddy Inky and them niggas are so petty, they took my name off the record. Oh, you're still on it, though? I'm still on it. Say I'm on my hard-to-buy, I'm on my boat. I don't look at it.
Starting point is 02:26:02 I don't think it's Daddy Inky. Let me just be clear. I Remember you guys having those combos to about that record Conversation let me just be clear This was When I seen it because I looked I'm in my car so I'm looking I'm like okay because you know it was two different versions at first it was pitbulls version there was my version I think you had two verses I had two verses but Yankee or the peak powers that be cut it down to you having the verse little John and then I haven't grass verse but I looked at it on serious satellite and they just erased
Starting point is 02:26:49 my name it's cool I'm so, I'm... Damn, you don't get publishing if that happens though? I wonder how that works out. No, of course. Come on. Yeah, you still... I told them to publish it. I don't know. I told them to publish it. But what I'm saying is
Starting point is 02:27:10 I don't know what's going on. I just never seen... They just exited me out the record but left me on the record and I don't understand. Okay, so let's take it from there. What the fuck?
Starting point is 02:27:21 What the fuck? You want me to... I'm so good at this shit. Go ahead, let me see. Where you want me to stop from? Where you want me to do? I'm so good at this shit. Go ahead, let me see. What you want me to stop for? You want to stop me at? You can go.
Starting point is 02:27:29 All right. Yeah, we talked about gasolina. I brought that up. You're talking about something else, dude. No, I'm talking about gasolina. Well, that's what it was. I thought I saw a gasolina. Oh, oh.
Starting point is 02:27:37 Wait a minute. Okay, hold on, hold on. Calm down, because calm down, please. Because I really, I really, I really, um, um. So what happened at Talasana? I said I got what I wanted. At Talasana. Hold on, hold on. I got what I wanted. I got what I wanted. I got what I wanted. I really, I really, I really, um, um.
Starting point is 02:27:46 So what happened at Talasana? I said I got one. At Talasana, hold on, I want to go pee and then come back. Yes. I want to have that energy. All right, cool. But don't, nobody talk about this. You can talk about any other shit.
Starting point is 02:27:57 I don't talk about you passing that, though. All right, this one. This is great, man. I'm sorry. Hold on, hold on. Please, I got this. Another thing we got to clear up. You know I caught a lot of heat over the Cuban Link
Starting point is 02:28:08 shit on the mixtapes. You remember that? I know Teach has to remember that. No? Maybe not. Yeah, we even got into some shit with them one night. With them. But you remember, I've been attributed
Starting point is 02:28:19 to starting the whole shit. No, I didn't get that part. Maybe I should move away from that. Because Cuban Link, and I was cool Cuban Lincoln I'm cool killing mm-hmm um we haven't talked but I'm cool and since he did a joint distant he dissed you and I think not just you I think and then I told you cuz I felt obligated I'm like I'm not gonna put this on a mixtape. That's all I got. You know what I'm saying? And it goes back to what I said earlier. Like, man, I don't battle rappers.
Starting point is 02:29:06 I battle companies, let's just say. And at that point, that situation looked like an opportunity to me. And it was wrong on my behalf, to be honest with you. And I'm wondering if it was wrong on my behalf to, I mean, I felt like I was cool with him, but I was obligated also to my homie from the crib. But he had some boys down here that were a part of a certain organization or whatever,
Starting point is 02:29:28 running around the whole nine. But at that point, to be honest with you, that was just me being... And mind you, I wrote that in Wynwood. I wrote that right here in the house I used to stay in. And just being a chess player at that point. But I have a lot of love for what Cuban Lynx did on the Terror Squad album. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 02:29:48 What he did on the... Wait, two more. Yeah, real quick. So, what I'm saying, what he did, even the way he rapped on shit in the whole nine... Let me act like
Starting point is 02:29:55 I don't screw my head. Lock me out. For a Cuban kid, what he was doing and rolling with pun and all that, that was huge. Exactly.
Starting point is 02:30:00 That was huge. So, from my part, being a young buck just trying to get in the game, that's what that was. But there was a certain form of admiration and respect. Like, damn, because not for nothing, Kimba can spit. You know, the way he put words together was... He was a battle shit.
Starting point is 02:30:13 He was a battle shit at that time. Exactly. So for me, being a young buck, it was, like I say, a form of disrespect, but a form of competition at the same time. And now, looking in hindsight, let's just say, you know, it was the wrong move. We should've been bringing each other up instead of trying to hit each other, you feel me? Which is always the case.
Starting point is 02:30:35 Exactly, at the time. But you know, hip hop is based on competition. Who can spit better, who's doing this, who's doing that better. Manu, he was just talking about what he went through. Who the fuck keep filling up my shots? That was you, Pablo, you did that.. Well, you think a ghost just went there So, yeah
Starting point is 02:31:00 Come on let's do it continue continue To all of the terror squad and all of them that came up. They opened a lot of doors for all of us. Shout out to Cypress Hill. And rest in peace to Big Pun who was, shit, probably one of the best. All the Latinos and all the people in there. And big up Cypress Hill. I like that. Cypress Hill for sure.
Starting point is 02:31:17 Even, what's my man? Metal Man Ace. Metal Man Ace, yeah. Cuban dude. Sensuals brother. Yeah, one of those dudes to break those barriers, man. Okay, so one day, I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:31:28 You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:31:36 You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:31:44 You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? I used to hang out with you guys a lot Both we got Wow, you know Go to a ton of sun. I got a son. I'm black. No, you got it This is a drunk fact story He's telling his story, his story. Starting point is 02:56:35 And I said, man, I need this little line right here. And he said, oh man, I got the perfect line for you. When he said, when I hit it from the back, I got them mommies saying, damn it, man. When I put it from the back I got the mommy saying damn it man when I put in the mouth I got them saying you notice right at that line I say big that up dammit so dammit was the one that gave me so it gave me a chance to, I could say that was one of the last Miami records I could really get my hands on to. But I always been looking, what's the next lick?
Starting point is 02:57:13 What's the next avenue that I could get into that nobody looking at? Because you don't want to be on the same block pumping on the same thing everybody pumping. You want to look and say, oh, wait a second, I ain't even looking at this. And you take over a whole nother town. So the DJ game, the EDM game, that shit gave me a whole nother world. Bob Sinclair, that shit gave me a whole nother world. I'm going, damn, nobody looking at this right now. That's a whole nother league.
Starting point is 02:57:36 And it gave me no bullshit. That X and Z had nothing to do with it. No, not at all. I never done that shit. I may have been involved with... A little bit. I don't know nothing about that, but out of all, what I'm trying to tell you is I never did this shit and Is this it gave me a runway for like seven years dog and nobody was looking at heard you
Starting point is 02:58:00 Nobody was looking at some able to knock out these records knock out these records knock out these records knock out these records Why everybody over here playing crabs in a bucket? I'm like, shit, I can just rap on these records? Psh, yeah, bet. Oh, my bad, bet that up. Bet that up. And then sure enough, so that's why I'm- It was a pivot. But now this next project that I got coming up, I'm going to knock out a mixtape with bringing some old school shit back, but it's relevant because now what we're rapping about, everybody knows that it's been lived, so it ain't just something that you're talking about.
Starting point is 02:58:33 And the other part is, a lot of people done came to, like example, Northerns showed love for a long time in Miami, Fat Joe showed love in Miami for a long time. And como se llama esto, Wycle love in Miami for a long time. Como se muerto? White Clef showed love for a long time. I gotta say Karis won too because he back in even more superior. I would say like even the DJ Raw days when Karis won was there. Like a hood stock is what they call it.
Starting point is 02:58:58 Now, to be able to bring all that shit back, for me it's a blessing. But there's a lot of motherfuckers that come to the crib, don't no love and all they do is want to be at live hanging the fuck out they take our stories take it back to their cities and they make it theirs and hey god bless you if that's what you could do but i'm not going to your city to hang the fuck out we call it f-o-t's f-o-t's is that what it is they gotta tell me that's what crazy what we call that but teaching team what is they got a chance? I fake out of town come on. Say they got a ton of FOTS in for tease But I think I love that I'm attending so with that said now watching what everything has come up through history in Miami becoming a Mecca Like I say New York the Big Apple Miami about the pineapple We the most industrial thing below Mason Dixon.
Starting point is 02:59:46 They can try to call us country, but we move the city like a motherfucker. And on top of that, our first... Everybody will go on a vacation in Miami. Not only that, but remember, Miami is the port of... Gangsters don't die, they get chubby and moved to Miami. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Continue.
Starting point is 03:00:05 But now that everything coming out, like let's say in Netflix and everything, speaking about everything that was going on down here and the countries that we were involved in, then y'all see why we are who we are. Right. We were. Yeah. Right. We call it the connect.
Starting point is 03:00:18 Y'all call it the plug. Right. Miami was everything that came through had to meet with us before it met anybody else. Facts. And in turn, we learned how to do that through music. It took us a little longer because I didn't get introduced to hip-hop until 89. I was eight years old when I got introduced to it. By the time I already heard salsa merengue, bach then, or bass music.
Starting point is 03:00:46 I was in third grade talking about bass and hip hop. But it was hip hop. Isn't that amazing? Bass was hip hop. Yeah, for us. Because if you remember, all the beats were the same. Even Run DMC 808s, all of that was the same bass lines. The beats were the same.
Starting point is 03:00:58 It was, we just put women to dance to it. We just made it fast, the RPMs were fast. Nah, we put women to dance to it. That was a big difference. Remember, nobody had dancers with them on stage before. It was loop. Why you think I run around with girls on the stage? Well, mine are the most bad ones. All good girls, great girls, sophisticated, smart, sharp.
Starting point is 03:01:15 But when they hit that stage, I'm like, yo, give them that nasty. So when people leave this. Give me everything. That was your first number one? Yes, sir. You got that segment, huh? Shoot. He said. It's your first number one? Yes, sir. You got that segment, huh? He said, it's your first number one? My first number one, yeah.
Starting point is 03:01:31 On the English side, yes. On the English. You had some on the Latin side already? Yeah, yeah. He had a Japanese record. Tell him. Japanese. Japanese. Konnichiwa.
Starting point is 03:01:42 Konnichiwa. Let's go. Shake your sushi. Shake your sushi. Shake your sushi. All right, man. Let's make some noise for. Anyways, man, hey, it was good shooting this shit. I do got a lot of.
Starting point is 03:01:55 Are you dead and all? No, he's definitely out of here. He's dead and all. But I want to tell you, I appreciate it. We're going to do many more of these with God's help. But you have a new scene coming up. Congratulations for everything. Huh?
Starting point is 03:02:03 You have a new scene coming up? Nah, man. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding you, I appreciate it. We're going to do many more of these with God's help. But you have a new scene coming out. Huh? You have a new scene coming out? Nah, man. I don't got no man coming out. What I do got coming out is this, man.
Starting point is 03:02:12 Just fucking with us. We love you, bro. That I get a chance to fuck with y'all. And more than anything, just to highlight the fact that due to music, we get a chance to do what everybody should do in their own community. Build schools, partner. That's the only way we break up what the fuck is going on right now Other than that, it's just gonna be game on top of game on top of game on top of game
Starting point is 03:02:33 With the correct teaching in the school Yeah, so the school the we built is called SLAM. And mind you, if you want to look it up, you can see what they do. But SLAM is Sports Leadership Arts and Management. We've had it for eight years. The last three classes, we've graduated at 100%. Beautiful.
Starting point is 03:02:54 You know what I'm talking about? So 97% of the kids that we got in there on free lunch, so these are kids that need it. They're coming from Overtown, Alapata, Wynwood, Little Havana, Liberty City. We're pulling them all out of the kids that we got in there on free lunch. So these are the kids that need it. They're coming from Overtown, Allapattah, Wynwood, Little Havana, Liberty City. We're pulling them all out of the inner city and bringing them to a school that exactly that. You got teachers that believe in them. Yeah. Now, since we manage the teachers, we manage the administrators, we're able to manage the curriculum.
Starting point is 03:03:20 I fire. So therefore, this ain't like a public, how can I say? It's a public school? But it's not run by the public school district So the curric not the curriculum the metrics are different and if a teacher bring home some you know Knock it out the park with some test scores They get incentivized in a different way where now you can go from a teacher to maybe an assistant principal assistant principal to a principal principal to
Starting point is 03:03:43 The teachers are getting paid accordingly to what they're doing. Not only paid, but also accomplishment-wise as far as where you're going in the game. It takes certain teachers in the public school system 10 years just to say, hey, I hope I got a paycheck for the rest of my life. Right, which is terrible.
Starting point is 03:03:56 Exactly. Now, I'm sure that everybody here, we went through the public school system. All of us, yeah. So to me, that's a part of our legacy and more than anything that's going on in the world right now That's when anybody want to take a stance for anything You say look man invest in your community
Starting point is 03:04:10 Invested around your folks and then that's that's how you can be uplift instead of crabs in the bucket is the opposite We get to the top tip the bucket over and we all run off from because I don't like it. it's what number ladders on the bucket.
