Welcome to Drink Champs, a production of the Black Effect and iHeartRadio. We'll be right back. Drink up, motherfuckers. When you talk about genuine people, when you talk about real people, when you talk about legendary status, I recently found out the other day that one of his favorite years in life is my favorite year in life. That's 1998. It's my first question off the top, just to throw that out there.
Starting point is 00:03:35 But when you talk about countless, I feel like this is like the first hood nigga that had two number ones in the first year. Like Britney Spears didn't even do shit like that. This man has brung people to this game, had made executives, had made record labels. Because of this man, record labels have survived. Record labels have thrived. This guy right here is what you call a legend's legend. There's nobody in hip hop I could ever think of This guy right here is what you call a legends legend.
Starting point is 00:04:08 There's nobody in hip hop I could ever think of that don't have love for this guy that I'm talking about right here. He's a humble guy, he's a real guy, and he's a man of his word. And his accolades is through the roof. But we're going to talk about that in the show. In case you motherfuckers is living under the rock and you don't know who the hell I am talking about, we are talking about my friend, D-The-Motherfucking-Head!
Starting point is 00:04:32 D-Champ's alumni, by the way. D-Champ's alumni. Thank you for being here, man. We know you don't do interviews, man. Thank you, man. Thank you. Thank you, brother. Let's get straight to the point, man. First, let me say that.
Starting point is 00:04:48 How I fuck with this kid. How I fuck with my man right here. N-O-R-E. But now we on the run, Ian. I was able to better understand how my music could influence people to the point where they will tell me that a song might have saved their life
Starting point is 00:05:04 because one of his songs saved mine thank you man save mine you told me that earlier listen i'm gonna get this out there the first time i ever met dmx i feel like i got a DMX story now. You got a DMX story. This right now is a DMX story. Yes, yes. It's very hard to get the dog. One of many.
Starting point is 00:05:30 One of many. One of many. But listen, the first time I met him. Not because I'm hard to reach, but because I don't fuck with clowns. You know what I mean? I don't, you know. So we certified right now. Let's make some noise for being certified.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Three hands to certify. Yo, DMX, the first time I ever met you, man, it was in Bad Eerie Studios. Your dog walked in our session. When he walked in the session, I believe one of my friends kicked him or pushed him. Oh, no, they didn't kick him. The dog would have bit him.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Yeah, the dog would have bit him. That's a fact. They acted unfavorably. But the dog came back to you, and the first words you ever said to me when you walked in the room, you was like, y'all niggas don't like dogs? And I was like,
Starting point is 00:06:06 holy shit. I acknowledge you. I acknowledge you first. Real recognize you. I acknowledge you first. Yo, what up? Yo, niggas don't like dogs? What's the problem? Right, right, right. He didn't have LL
Starting point is 00:06:20 54321. You ain't had none of that. I might have had that. The Mike Girardi one, Joey? Yep, yep. What's all the noise about?
Starting point is 00:06:28 Yeah. Have some respect. The fuck up. Drop out. Money, dope, and shit. Go back to Trevor.
Starting point is 00:06:32 So X, we live in the broadcast. There's noise in the background. I don't care. Right, right. We need that. That's how you know it's live,
Starting point is 00:06:39 baby. That's how you know it's live. So listen, you were the first dude to drop two albums that both went platinum in the same year. The first, yes. How the fuck did that happen? Bring us through that.
Starting point is 00:06:49 What happened was, by the time I got my deal, I felt like I was vindicated. I was like, yes, finally. That's a big word. Finally. I felt like it was owed to me. Big mistake on my behalf, but that's another story. But an offer was made to me that if I could, after I dropped my first album, an offer was made to me that if I was able to drop another album or record another album within 30 days, that I'd get a million dollars.
Starting point is 00:07:17 This is your first time having a million, correct? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You had a million or something. First time I was offered a million. Offered a million. I didn't have a million by then. I mean, like I said, I dropped two albums at the same time. Now, what was the first album?
Starting point is 00:07:29 What was the name of it again? It's Dark and Hell is Hot. And then, it wasn't Flesh and My Blood. It's Dark and Hell is Hot. Flesh and My Blood. Flesh and My Blood. Flesh and My Blood. Then there was X.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Got niggas like, what's next? And getting great impression. Can we go back to the podcast? But you was on Rough House before that. I got signed With a single Rough House Columbia Yes Oh man
Starting point is 00:07:50 That's history Yeah Rough House Columbia That was like end of 80s Late 80s Early 90s That was mid 90s How sick was
Starting point is 00:07:58 Rough House Columbia After you dropped Two platinum Let's just say Fuck Rough House Columbia Right That was before I dropped Before anything just say fuck Rough House Columbia. Right. That was before I dropped anything but platinum. Fuck Rough House Columbia.
Starting point is 00:08:08 They fucked up. They fucked up. They dropped the ball. They had X. They had X. But they decided me as a tax write-off. They signed me for one single. After we put the single out, it had a little momentum, a little push.
Starting point is 00:08:22 And they picked it up, but didn't put anything behind it Okay, cool Now let me tell you, I know what I'm capable of I know what I'm going to do And I'm glad I bought the locks to Rough Riders You bought the locks to Rough Riders Yeah, I bought the locks to Rough Riders I bought E to Rough Riders
Starting point is 00:08:39 Drag, drag, they met And I kind of co-signed I signed his a release papers. And drag from Yonkers, too? Drag from the Bronx. Okay, okay. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Yeah. So DMX, we got DMX in the building. Yeah. I'm so thankful because you know what the crazy shit is. You know what I had to tell X? I had to keep it real with X. I said, yo, X, the inmates is really running the building. Because last time somebody told you the inmates was running the building, you was disappointed.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I'm grateful for the way you phrased it. Last time someone told me inmates were running the building inmates wasn't really running the building. But you never was on Rikers Island with him so you didn't know. Not with him. You for sure know. In our mind we was on Rikers Island. Not with him. I wasn't on. I don't even think I ever been to Rikers Island. That nigga? Nah. He was on when he bought it. I'll talk to you about it.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Now we have Murder Mookook on here, right? Huh? Murda Mook said that he seen you battle a dude on Linux Avenue. Oh shit, this is the best story. And he said that you trained your dog to do ad-libs. Like... Is this a myth? Definitely an urban legend.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Urban legend, yeah. It's an urban legend? Urban legend like a murder. Listen, I'm not going to lie, Axe. Definitely an urban legend. Is it an urban legend? Urban legend like a murderer. Listen, I'm not going to lie, Axe. He said that the dog comes up and says, It says, It says,
Starting point is 00:09:56 And he said, tell ma, let's get him. But you did it, I can't think of where the move was from. I'm never going to. He could have made that up Maybe I was already rapping the dog ground of a digital and we're a total quarter rhyme Big thing where yeah, oh and that vertical set the same season. Yo, I see DMX have his dog And I cuz we said is that I see DMX have the most legendary battle and I stopped him immediately I said was a dog involved and he said yes, and then he gives me a story. So I'm gonna give you a story man. Let's go. Let's go I'm running shit. So I think I like DMX real shit. I watch DMX Shout out to my man didn't say
Starting point is 00:10:58 DMX you he lived in around our hood like they have put him put him in his building to, you know, chill out for. He had dogs. He had his dog, right? Right. So he battling on the corner now. Mind you, battling all the niggas around me, right? Oh, no, he battled Deng?
Starting point is 00:11:16 He battled Deng on the block, on the 121st, right? 7th Avenue. I don't even understand how classic that is, but good. Right. He battled him, and the the nigga he just said like uh, huh? Also the fighting and the disorder member the falls to the like you some all the like you be pet Take my dog. She might bite you and in the dog he go and in the dog She might bite you.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Something with them. And then the dog growls, he's like, and then he's like, chill, mom, let me get him. There you go. Look, look, look, look, listen to me. Listen to me, listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me.
Starting point is 00:11:58 He a hype man, but it was a dog. Yo, listen to me. So you say that could've happened. That could've happened. But it wasn't planned. There you go. Holy moly guacamole. that could have happened. That could have happened. But it wasn't planned. There you go. Holy moly guacamole. That's even better.
Starting point is 00:12:08 That's even better. That's even better. Yeah, I kept a dog with me. I kept a dog with me. Kept a dog with me, man. I love dogs. I like dogs more than people. You love dogs more than people?
Starting point is 00:12:16 More than people. I don't need that. Can you break that down for us? A dog doesn't know how to lie to you. Dog doesn't know how to be fake. It is what it is. You know what I'm saying? If you shit, he's going to be, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:29 But you could catch a dog taking a shit, hit him with the newspaper, and then somebody knock on the door. And then he'll be like, pause and ass whooping. Let's address this situation. Right. And he'll be ready to kill for you right after you whoop his ass. That's unconditional love. Unconditional love, yo. It's very true. Let me just say that for a second.
Starting point is 00:12:49 For those people that don't know, DMS is really a dog whisperer. He had my little dog. He was like,. I'm like, what the fuck? He had my dog. He moved. He was like that.
Starting point is 00:13:01 My dog is the size of the mic. So how did you develop your love for dogs? I used to steal dogs. That was like, you know, a little nigga too. You know what I mean? Gain the dog's confidence, you know what I'm saying? Pet him. Because like I said, you get friendship.
Starting point is 00:13:24 And then I don't know if I told you this, but there was one time when I stole a dog, huge, pit bull, massive head, and I got in the house about maybe 5, 36 o'clock in the morning, and you know, probably just got the linoleum floors, and they got the dog with the bell in his collar, he like, and scratch the floor, and I'm like, get that motherfucker out of here,
Starting point is 00:13:39 like, ah, it took me like three, four hours to steal this motherfucker. I'm not just gonna give him away, like, you serious? You mean, like, that four hours to steal this motherfucker. I'm not just going to give him away. Are you serious? That's the whole time. Right. Right. And I'm like, get out of here now.
Starting point is 00:13:53 All right. I went and refrigerated it to two hot dogs. We went up to the roof. And you know how on top of the roof is that extra structure that leads to the elevator shaft. You know what I'm saying? That little tiny building that's on top of the roof is that extra structure that leads to the elevator shaft. You know what I'm saying? That little tiny building that's on top of the roof.
Starting point is 00:14:08 So I tied him to the step. I sat there with him ahead of my lap. You know what I'm saying? Gave him a hot dog. I had a hot dog. Fell asleep.
Starting point is 00:14:17 You know what I mean? Me and this man woke me up and tapped my foot. So y'all got to get to the elevator. I'm like, your dog won't let me by. Oh wow. I'm like, wow. He woke up while you were sleeping.
Starting point is 00:14:27 RJ was kept real with this nigga. You know what I mean? Gave him half what I had and stayed there. You know what I mean? Because he laid his head on my lap. You're saying that's the first time you developed a love for a dog. That was dope.
Starting point is 00:14:37 That's when I knew it was like, fuck people. Give me a dog. The loyalty's different. Nah, I don't even know a dog's name. I named him Bully, some shit like that. I just stole him, so I obviously didn't know his name. New friendships. Yeah, yeah, he was a the dog's name. I named him Bully, some shit like that. I just stole him, so I obviously didn't know his name. New friendships. Yeah, yeah, he was a good dog, man.
Starting point is 00:14:49 I ended up bringing him back. Wow. Yep, I brought him back. To the people. Yep. Oh, wow. I said, yo, I seen him walking down the street. I'm like, not this one. You ain't telling him I stole his shit. No, no, no, I'm not giving this,
Starting point is 00:14:59 I'm not letting this dog go. They don't even make sense. They don't even make sense. How about, what's your relationship with cats? I don't like cats. That's a good question. I don't like cats at all. I just said the verse, you know what I'm saying? Something, something over.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Cats that play in the street get ran over. You know what I mean? Have you ever had a cat or been in a cat's vicinity? Yes. When I first met my girl turning to be my wife, the first year, she had a cat. But I had a dog. I was like,
Starting point is 00:15:26 they don't get along. Something's going to get them. And what happened was, she was at work one day, and the dog chased the motherfucking cat into the closet. And the whole type of shit
Starting point is 00:15:33 falling in the box and moving around. And, oh, I called her job. She used to have a job at Big New York. I called her and said, yo,
Starting point is 00:15:40 you just told the cheerer that Brittany's dead. Kathy and Britney? Holy moly, wow. Yo, she said she came back from the back or something, and the whole office was looking at her crazy, and the man was like, will you step in here for a minute?
Starting point is 00:15:56 And it was like, yo, um... You didn't say it was a cat, they don't know this. No, I didn't say it was a cat. Oh, the whole thing was a body that's happening. I mean, it's the truth. Yo, she was like, yeah, it was like, yo, Brittany's dead. She's like, she caught us. She's just, she's about to say my cat. She calls it like, oh, okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:21 One really everything. Yeah, I got you. I'm going to keep it real. We got got you I got you I'm gonna keep it real We got like 3 million subscribers I'm lying But It's all good Can you pray for the people
Starting point is 00:16:32 Cause I told people I told people that you pray for everybody And listen Pray for us Listen Whenever DMX open a church I'm gonna be the first attended Church
Starting point is 00:16:41 DMX church Can you pray for the people please And then we'll go to Club Passion. Pray for us, man. Bow your heads, motherfucker. Man. Father God, we thank you for this gathering of souls.
Starting point is 00:16:56 The word says that when two or more gather in your name with your presence, we thank you for your presence. We ask that your grace and blessings are upon us this evening. We pray that any obstacle the devil plans to place on our path will be removed in the name of Jesus. We thank you for the things that are blessings, things that most people take for granted. The air that we have to breathe, the food we have to eat, the cars we have to drive, the clothes we have to wear, the money we have to spend, the lives we've touched, and the lives that have touched our own.
Starting point is 00:17:23 When was the last time somebody said, thank you, God, for this air? But without that air that you didn't thank God for, how long could you live? I'm talking to somebody. I pray that you guide our steps, that you have your will, have your way in our lives. For we didn't make us, so we don't know what to do with us. We humble ourselves before you. We humble ourselves before you. We praise your name and give you the glory. We praise ourselves before you. We humble ourselves before you. We praise
Starting point is 00:17:45 your name and give you the glory. We praise your name and give you the glory. The word says no weapon formed against the shop prosper. The word don't say the weapon won't be formed. The word doesn't say the intention of the weapon maker won't be to harm you. The word don't say that the weapon maker won't attempt to use it. What the word says is no weapon formed against the shop prosper. So no matter what use it. What the word says is, no weapon for me against Bishop Roswell. So no matter what they think, no matter what they do, no matter what they try, oh, it don't matter. Because when God is for you, who can be against you?
Starting point is 00:18:16 When God is for you, who can be against you? When God is for you, who can be against you? We have so much power in the spoken word. We have so much power in the spoken word. We have so much power in the spoken word. And there's angels that are waiting to be released on our behalf. But unless we release them with the spoken word, then they will stand there and watch the devil destroy us. They will watch him destroy us because they have not been released.
Starting point is 00:18:43 All we got to do is have knowledge of the word and use the word. The only weapon we need is the word. The only weapon we need is the word. Again, the word says my people perish for lack of knowledge. We die because of what we don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:59 So God, may you remind us. May you remind us of what we need to say when we need to say it. May you remind us of how we need to say When we need to say it May you remind us of how much power there is in the word We praise your name And give you the glory We thank you We even thank you for our mishaps
Starting point is 00:19:15 We thank you for our curses Because you know what Sometimes the blessing will be found in the curse Sometimes the blessing will be found in the curse Sometimes we won't know what God is willing to do for us, even though we know what he's capable of doing. Sometimes we don't know what he's willing to do for us until we get to the point where we need him to do it for us.
Starting point is 00:19:36 So we say thank you for that. We say thank you. We say thank you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Make some fucking noise for DMX, man. The American West with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network,
Starting point is 00:19:54 hosted by me, writer and historian Dan Flores, and brought to you by Velvet Buck. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. I'll then be joined in conversation by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and best-selling author and meat-eater founder Stephen Ranella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say, when cave people were here. And I'll say, it seems like the Ice Age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West and come to understand how it helps inform
Starting point is 00:20:36 the ways in which we experience the region today. Listen to the American West with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. It's just a compassionate choice to allow players all reasonable means to care for themselves. Music stars Marcus King, John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. We have this misunderstanding of what this quote-unquote drug thing is.

We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as
Starting point is 00:23:38 core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there, And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets.

Even though I couldn't really afford to do that, you know, I had to be back in the center a certain time, but we put that shit later. What are we doing tonight, nigga? Starting point is 00:26:03 Prince was Gangsta. So what was Prince like? First of all, he was a deep voice when he told me, like, command brother. He did! I'm coming! He used a deep voice. He had the high voice. He had a security, like, one of these tables, like, push it up, you know what I'm saying? And we sit over here, and he pretty much backed half the club up with the table and gave us our space.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Wow. And talked to me for about maybe an hour. We sit over here and he pretty much backed half the club up with the table and gave us our space and talked to me for about maybe an hour in the club. Wild music is playing. About owning your masters. He explained how to, gave you the symbol. Yeah, he was all about. I was fucked up. I was fucked up for a while behind that.
Starting point is 00:26:42 That's ill, man. This is real. Listen, by the way, we love Prince because of that, but then Nas sat here and said, and Nas said that he wanted to do, and I said,
Starting point is 00:26:52 Nas, anybody have a friend of you doing a song that you want to do a song with? And they said no. And he said, nah, no one ever said that. Then he stopped himself.
Starting point is 00:26:59 He said, yes, I'm lying. He didn't say he's lying. He said, I miss somebody. And I said, who? He said Prince. He said Prince came to him and Nas came to. He said, I miss somebody. And I said, who? He said, Prince. He said Prince came to him and Nas came to him and said, I want to do a song with you. And Prince said, do you own your masters?
Starting point is 00:27:14 And he said, Nas did not own his masters. So he said, I can't do a record with you because I want you to own it. I don't want these people to eat on it. How crazy is Prince to say that back then? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He explained the symbol and everything. Yeah, that's why he did the symbol. You said that to back then. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He explained the symbol and everything. Yeah, that's why he did the symbol. Right. To get away from those contracts.
Starting point is 00:27:28 You got on your master's brother. Yeah. But to me, I'm just. What level is life with DMX at? Like I said, this is. This is after the two albums dropped. You're a movie star of DMX. After two albums, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:38 You're moving. I actually. Oh, no. Because I did my third album in Cali with Crayon to the Grave, but this is Eggsy Wounds. I think I was right after my second album. I was like, you know what I mean? You were at a height. And you, Def Jam's number one.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yep. Like there's nobody else in that building. That is DMX building at this time. That's it. And so Puss went like this. Hey brother. Yep, yep, and sat down in the school with me. I felt like a little kid.
Starting point is 00:28:04 In a good way. I felt like my grandfather smacked the shit to school me. I felt like a little kid in a good way. I felt like No bad way for your grandfather You didn't respect them. You didn't respect them. To Prince. To Prince, God damn it. To Prince. OG. DMX, what's going on my brother? How you doing? Hey there, we over here about to record DreamTent. You still around? Yeah.

Starting point is 00:28:50 DMX is the most normalist in your next exam. I'm gonna put this in your car. I'm gonna put this in your car. Listen, listen, listen. They sent it out to you. You said that was good? Cool.
Starting point is 00:28:57 I sent it to them, they didn't say nothing. They take it out, so I'm just gonna leave it there. Fuck it, let's just leave it. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. Starting point is 00:42:33 most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So how did you feel a lot of people when Pac passed and then you came to the scene? A lot of people
Starting point is 00:42:54 compared you. They compared you. How was he when he died? No, no. They compared you. How did you feel to that comparison? Some people get offended.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Some people... I used to correct people as plainly as I could. They'd be like, oh, you like the next pop? I'm like, no, I'm the first ex. They would say that.
Starting point is 00:43:10 That's great. They would say that. Oh, you like the next pop? I'm like, no, I'm not the next anything. I'm the first. That's a friend. I mean,
Starting point is 00:43:16 and it's crazy because I actually had a chance to see pop. Oh, where? Walking. I never met pop. We stayed at... Oh, my God. So, where? Walking. I never met Pop. He stayed at, oh my God. Le Mans?
Starting point is 00:43:26 He was on Hammond Way off Sunset in L.A. Oh, okay. That hotel. Okay. And I saw him. He was a cool dude. He seemed cool. Now, what year was this?
Starting point is 00:43:39 Do you remember the year? I'd say like 97? Six. Oh, wow. Wow. You met real Pop. Yeah. You met real Six. Oh, wow. Wow. You met real pop. Yeah. You met real pop.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Walking by yourself. You got 97, right? Maybe 95. Maybe 95. Dre Borders out there. Dre Borders out there. And he walked past and I seen him. My man said, what up?
Starting point is 00:44:01 What up? What up? Cool dude. You know? I said, what up? I'm like, what up? What up? Cool dude. But I think, I think, and speaking as favorably as I can for someone who's passed, someone who can't defend themselves. Right. I think part of the problem, a big part of the problem was he didn't have what New York niggas got.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Like, uh, I'm from New York. This is my block. Bam. He had no one. He didn't have his crew. So one thing, being a New York nigga, I know for a fact is you don't go to Cali and live there without having to goon spots.
Starting point is 00:44:40 Like, homie, you could be the hardest thing in the world. But you don't go way over there without that. No one ever knew where he was from Where you from? He lived in Oakland When you're from somewhere you got to get that gruel but you that had your back that loved you since you was in kindergarten I mean that fuck with you for real and won back, that loved you since you was in kindergarten. I mean, that fuck with you for real. And won't let nothing.
Starting point is 00:45:11 And you, I need the extra set of eyes so I keep my dog with me. Doctor said, let him die. I said, this fucking dog bit me. Sometimes you need that nigga with you, that, that, that, that, that, that. Your man, that, that, that, that. You know what? He'll see what you don't see. Right.
Starting point is 00:45:21 It's easy to get caught up in this. It's easy to get caught up in this. When we was doing the podcast, we started this show, and we interviewed you. Yeah. Thank you for that, by the way. No, thank you. No, no, no. This is your thank you moment. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:45:34 This is your thank you moment. This is our thank you moment. Right, right. Thanking you. You had a show. You didn't have to do this. You sat down with us, and we interviewed you. We had fun. And it was really just weird with us and we interviewed you we had fun and it was
Starting point is 00:45:45 really just weirdly with me and you do off camera exactly what we already do and i want to thank you on behalf of all of us because that was the first time uh hip-hop took us serious because you know they're thinking oh a rapper interviewing rappers who gives a fuck? Right. But when we sat down with you, it made me take us serious. Because you're a hard person. Like, you're a person in demand. People want access to DMX. People want... And they don't know our relationship.
Starting point is 00:46:17 Right, right. So that's beautiful. So that's T-code for me. But the fact is, when we showed it to the world, it reciprocated. It was a game changer for us. It was a game changer.
Starting point is 00:46:27 It's crazy because, and I don't mean to get deep, but I've got to get deep. I had met him the other day in the back of the taco shop. And I didn't want to ever go to that taco shop ever again in life because of what happened with Twin. Because Twin left there. But then I thought about it when he said, yo, I'm here. And I said, you know what? This is the reason why we first even came
Starting point is 00:46:48 to this taco spot because when we went number one, we brought our whole crew and me and your friend talked to each other. We was like, yo, we could go do a Mr. Charles or we could do a Prime 112,
Starting point is 00:46:58 but eight people's going to eat. We're not eight people. It's 20 of us. Look at this. This is our crew. Everyone here is purpose. And we went to that taco spot. and I just want to say thank you man because I know he was doing that like you know on a strip
Starting point is 00:47:13 what you love the thing is I actually turned that love into something and we turned that to me we turned that love that you have for hip-hop it for us and we turn it into something. And I can never thank you enough, my brother. And real quick, that whole day leading up to that episode. It was so hilarious. Could be a movie by itself. No, it's a movie, because by the way, right?
Starting point is 00:47:38 Because there was stuff that you didn't know was going on. Right, right. And then there's stuff that y'all were dealing with. This is actually a movie like this. He's 100 miles an hour. You can't turn around, he's gone. We took over the hotel with. We're live like that. This is X with X. We move like this. He's a hundred miles an hour. You can't turn around. He's gone. We took over the hotel lobby.
Starting point is 00:47:47 We told him, turn down your music. So it was crazy. They're like, yo, look. I hear Ali and I hear Ali. And I'm like, yo. I had a note. X might not know what we're doing. But they're like, so listen.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Just come. Let's meet him at the hotel. So I go meet X at the hotel so I go meet exit the hotel I see him give him a five in two seconds. Somebody calls me goes. Yeah You know this my cousin he's like don't want to do a radio interview Right, you know of you told me that? Some of you told me this is the truth. And I gotta give you your flowers
Starting point is 00:48:32 because that's what this is about, man. You gotta give yourself the flowers. No, no, no, not today. Let me explain to you why. Let me explain to you why. I know you're a hardcore nigga, you probably don't want no flowers. You said, we got love for each other. Love is incredible.
