Now, when I tell you,
when I tell you,
this person that's standing next to me
has one of the most unique,
one of the most brilliant,
one of the most loyal stories
in hip-hop.
From 504 Boys to, you know,
the Hot Boys,
to being a No Limit Soldier,
to riding that out,
selling millions of records.
From them, the guys being the first people
to drop an album every week,
every month,
on every week.
I've never seen nothing like that.
Never seen nothing like that prior to that.
And I've never seen nothing like that after Never seen nothing like that prior to that. And I've never seen
nothing like that after that.
These guys were one of one.
They are a one of one.
We had the big Colonel on here.
He didn't sweat.
He was the only artist
that we had here
that did not sweat.
Master P.
And the AC was broke.
We was trying to get him
to sweat so bad.
We was trying to get him to drink
and he did not sweat at all.
And now we got the motherfucking Silk the motherfucking Shaggy.
So let me ask you off top.
Did you watch Versus last night?
I did.
You did?
Okay.
All right.
First off, who did you think was going to win?
I kind of was on the fence.
I thought it was going to be a tight one i mean i like the dip
set um but i also think the locks is underrated and stupid good too so why um so you say you
went into the game with no no okay i know but then what happened when you watched it
did y'all watch what i'm saying? Yes, yes. Nah, I mean, it was like, it started off a little flimsy
and it just kept getting like, you know.
And I was so rude for Dipset
because I think that they dope.
But I think that presence was so crazy
from everybody, but man,
when Kiss just, he opened that thing up.
He opened it up.
He opened that thing up, man.
There's two things that I learned real fast in life.
One, I don't like Kevin Hart in the gym at all.
Every time I see Kevin Hart in the gym,
he's just like this tough guy.
He's nothing like how he is on the.
He's all, oh, no, come on, Ryan.
You're not trying to be funny.
Kevin Hart never wanted to be in the gym with you.
I got you.
I just don't want to, right?
I got you.
Just don't.
His trainer, he don't.
None of them.
Together, them three, don't like him. Don't like him, OK. Don't like him. OK. And I don't want to right just don't his trainer he know none of them together from three don't like it don't like it I don't like it
okay and I don't want to palettate a kiss on stage that's I also learned that
like he his stage presence it's like the more that he starts getting into it like
he's zoned in like did you see like when they paid the New York City and he just
had the New York record to combine it they said you ain't got no girl records
that he said I I got, yo,
they DJ was on,
they rehearsed.
They did.
The DJ was on point.
Shout out to the DJ.
Will Silk do a versus?
Ooh,
that's a,
hmm.
I would do a versus.
Okay.
At first,
I was like,
nah,
but I like what they doing.
So they also
appreciating each other too.
Yeah,
it's a celebration.
And a celebration.
And then it's also
good camaraderie too
against each other too.
So, I get down too. But down to I got the perfect match me and Ori I'm just messing up the perfect map okay. Are we starting a trouble right here?
Are we starting it up?
Are we starting a rule?
Are we starting a rule?
Shout out to Juvie.
Shout out to Juvie.
Just because I, you know,
I watched the No Limit documentary,
right, obviously.
And there was something
because I watched it this time
knowing that you was coming here.
But I watched it before
and this is something
that blew over my mind.
Okay.
And I didn't understand
Pete said
That he said
When Cash Money came to sign
To a priority I believe it was
He said don't sign them there
Don't sign them because
And most people would say
Why would he say don't sign them
That sounds like some haters shit
But then if you hear
What Master P said after that
He said don't sign them
You might get them killed
or I might have saved their life
because they said that Calio and Magnolia
was really at it that much
that if they were to sign to them,
that's what it alluded to.
I might be like, you know, putting 100 on 10.
But describe to us for that
because you guys are from the Calio, right?
And then they're from the Magnolia, right?
So it really wasn't a cash money,
no limit beef.
It was a Calio.
Describe to us for people
who've never been to New Orleans.
It's funny because it is a serious thing.
So if you were in a Calio back then
and Magnolia, it was like,
we was right by each other though.
It was almost like less than a mile or two away maybe two miles away three miles away so
but it was real and we didn't understand it because um we were so the city was so small
right so if like you might be from there but you walk in two or three miles you're gonna you got
to go to school you got to do whatever so somebody hits your man and then you hit them.
But you know what the craziest started off as fights.
Fights, yeah.
And then somebody just upped the one, the ratchet, right?
And then it's like, boom, somebody got killed.
And then that person, you know, and it just got stupid big because like one year I think it was Murder Capital World.
No, no, no, I remember that.
Yeah, in the city.
So it was just crazy
And then so
It took it real serious
So we really
I had people
Actually my
I had family in the Magnolia
What
That I couldn't even go see
You couldn't
You couldn't go see
Oh wow
It's not like Chicago
Yeah I couldn't go see
And I
And that was like
When you're young
You think like
I can't go
But it was that serious
Because
You know if you lost somebody
They lost somebody It's serious for them And it kept going on for like And it took, but it was that serious because if you lost somebody, they lost somebody, it's serious for them.
And it kept going on for like, and I think it took that into us being the Calio side, but really we was New Orleans.
But it took us being from the Calio and them being from the, I mean, us being the Cali Magnolia.
They said, okay, no limit is this, and then Cash Money is that.
But it wasn't that.
Cash Money was doing their thing.
They was cool and everything was working.
So it was 100.
So also, when I'm watching the documentary,
it says that, I mean, they didn't say this outright,
but it was like, yo, if P would have stuck with the music,
it would have been a lot harder for Cash Money
because, you know, P was doing so much things.
He was doing the basketball thing.
He was doing all that.
Do you think that's true?
I think it's more like it happens how it's supposed to happen.
I think Cash Money, everybody on Cash Money is dope.
So I think they would eventually probably came up.
But at that time, we just had it on lock.
But, you know, there's always going to be somebody come behind you.
So I think it would have probably happened.
But I think it happened a little faster probably because we were into movies film you know stuff like that so it probably gave him a little a little more
uh door open but i it's handling enough to probably eventually make it for sure you know
what i'm saying you know what's the the ill shit about watching the documentary like i said i
reiterated to watch it again was they said that even the fiends was real fiends everything was real
everything was real authentic you know the money everything it was damn near documentary yeah well
yeah you know what's crazy um and i'm gonna say say this with great ignorance we didn't identify
where it was
because all we knew at the time
was
East Coast, West Coast
so we just like alright we don't know where that's at
like we just
and that was like the first time
definitively
like I know for the East Coast, I know you represent Miami.
I don't know how you guys felt about that.
Like we knew that New Orleans was a crazy fucking place.
Just you bowed about it.
Yeah, yeah.
Like the crackhead.
Like we had not heard of this shit.
We had not.
Like, we didn't even know music passed to Port Arthur, Texas.
Then, you understand what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So, when you guys came out, was it like trying to please the East Coast, trying to please the West Coast?
Or was it just like, yo, you know what?
Let us just stick to our guns, one hundred million percent, period?
You know what happened?
Real talk,
it was,
we was in New Orleans
but we wasn't making
New Orleans music.
So if you look back,
it was more about bounce music,
it was P-pop,
you know, whatever.
That was New Orleans music.
That was New Orleans, right.
But we was in the streets
and in the trenches with it
so we wanted to make,
you know,
like the Tupac music you know like that type of music
like right but um they wasn't really hearing it and we had to kind of broaden our thing that's
where the Bay Area stuff came in that where the stores are yeah I lived in Richmond as well right
yeah yeah yeah so that so us us in New Orleans was more um it was a different kind of music that
we was we was a part of it but we was trying to figure out how can we brand out.
So we watched the East Coast, we watched the West Coast,
and I think we took a trip to the West Coast,
and that kind of had a little more influence on us.
You know what I'm saying?
The West Coast.
So now Jack Thriller, we were speaking to Jack Thriller,
and when I was describing you, then Jack Thriller said,
because Silk is like the Richie Rich of No Limit.
What does he mean by that?
The artist Richie Rich?
Or the cartoon Richie Rich?
I think he's going for the cartoon.
He's going for the cartoon.
What does he mean by that?
I don't know.
You want some champagne?
You want me to fill up your cup all?
Fill it up.
Fill me up.
Okay, I got you.
I got you.
I got you.
But no, Jack, I've been on Jack for a long time.
And so what he does know is that I work hard.
And I'm behind the scenes on a lot of stuff, too.
Producing movies, right?
A lot of stuff. Like a lot of the too. Producing movies, right? A lot of stuff.
A lot of the tour stuff and all that.
I put that on.
We got the No Limit tour.
Salud, my guy.
Salud, salud, god damn.
You got to sip it or don't come.
You got to sip it or don't come.
So you got the No Limit tour, you said?
Yeah, so we put the tour on.
The tour has been doing pretty good.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, it's been crazy.
But the pandemic stopped a lot of it,
but now it's started back up in, I want to good. Oh, wow. Yeah, it's been crazy. But the pandemic stopped a lot of it, but now it's started back
up in, I want to say, September,
October. We're everywhere.
We're like the Hawks play, we're in
Pelican. So we're doing
pretty good with it.
So just behind, so he knows me as
really doing business and getting it done.
So I think that he means like,
but a lot of people don't see a lot of me.
So they're like, oh, what's Silk up to? But I really get it. I get busy, man, lot of people don't see a lot of me. So they're like, oh, what's Silk up to?
But I really get, I get busy, man, for sure.
Because, see, a lot of rappers,
see, I guess what he's saying is, you know,
a lot of rappers, we get a three, four, five-year run.
But a person that gets a 20-year run,
you're either really rich or you're really, really broke.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm good, I'll tell you that much.
You just ain't going to Port Rock.
You know what I'm saying?
Let's make some noise
for that.
And I think that's what it is.
I was able to,
you know,
I don't really look at stuff
that we did in the past.
I try to keep it consistent
with what I could do today.
So I think that
what I do bring to the table,
I'll always be somebody
who could redefine himself. I mean, music-wise, I mean, music could table, I will always be somebody who could redefine himself.
I mean, music-wise, I mean, music could change, but business and doing what we did, it's the same thing.
And I don't even talk about, like, what we did or how much money we made.
I'm talking about consistently being able to do it.
Like, you could find a new hustle every day and make it work, but you could apply the same principles.
And working hard and being innovative is going to always be
the recipe for success
anytime.
It seemed like y'all
were just using music
to get to these other businesses
at one point.
I mean,
most people are
the smart ones doing that.
Right.
You take a Beyonce
or you take a Drake
or whatever,
they got so many deals
off the table,
off the court,
should I say,
in basketball,
that... We already just hit a billion.
That's what I'm saying.
Nothing to do with music.
Nothing to do with music,
you know what I'm saying?
So that's what I'm saying.
But she could use her brand
and look at Jay with the Ace of Spades,
you know, Rick, whatever.
Or you could say everything to do with music
because that's the platform that helps her
make that network.
Yeah.
I think that's the success right there.
Like, because she's such a dope,
all of them such a dope musical artist,
that's a fan base right there.
So, like I said,
so even when he got his base,
they watching and Denise spanned his base.
You know what I'm saying?
And I think that's the recipe for success.
So I don't think that,
and me, I still make money off of like my old music,
but I'm also still making money off of doing shows.
I mean, that's going to be, no matter what,
I still can play in my fault and people say,
so that's because...
So I got to ask you this question.
I want you to be 100% honest with me.
Who was the first Hot Boys?
Because it was confusing, us being on the East Coast.
You got Hot Boys, y'all Hot Boys,
and now Wayne and them, and them is a hot boys too.
I feel like there was
more hot boys
when you hear about it.
Just keep it real.
So, you know what?
It was,
I mean, I give it to them.
I think I give it to them.
Really?
Yeah, because,
I mean, but it was a culture.
Because y'all had a hot boy movie.
Yep.
Okay.
But it was a cultural thing.
In New Orleans.
Yep.
And everybody,
I'm a hot boy this,
hot boy Rich,
hot boy Ronald,
hot boy Nori.
Okay.
What does that mean,
hot boy? That means like the man in the city. You know what I'm a hot boy this, hot boy Rich, hot boy Ronald, hot boy Nori. What does that mean, hot boy?
That means like the man in the city.
You know what I'm saying?
If you say he's a hot boy in New York,
that means that he's either snitching.
Oh, that's what it is.
Or he's hot, like the police is looking for him.
That's why it was a totally different slang
when they was like, there's a hot boy.
I was like, damn. And then it was two of y'all why it was a totally different slang when they was like, there's a hot boy. I was like, damn.
And then it was two of y'all.
It was two different sets.
I would say it's more of they looking for us.
We on fire.
You know what I'm saying?
We got the city on, you know, we doing what we hustling.
We out here making stuff happen.
That's what it was.
So that's for the whole city.
You know what I'm saying?
That was the city.
So it was just, it was just, that's.
Was there ever a discrepancy with cash money?
Because you both, y'all called each other hot boys?
No, it never was.
Well, we haven't spoke about it, but we respect them as the hot boys.
So I don't, the movie was more about the city of New Orleans being that, like, what's the term in East Coast they use?
Like, let's say.
For hot boys?
No, just anybody.
No, just anything.
He lit? I don't know. Okay, so let's say we make the movie called He Lit use, like, let's say? For a hot boy? No, just anybody. No, just anything. He lit?
I don't know.
Okay, so let's say we make the movie called He Lit.
I mean, who runs it?
Like, who owns it?
Okay, yeah.
It was more that, but it was all love.
It was all respect, though.
As far as them as a group, so it was all love.
Was both of the crews, obviously, it was No Limit first, right?
Nationally, at least.
Yeah.
And then Cashmere, did that amplify the beef between the two hoods?
The music being so big nationally?
I don't even know.
I think...
Or would it?
Like it was the same regardless?
It was just bad overall.
You know what I'm saying?
It was tough.
It was a lot of people.
But I would say
if it was,
I didn't hear about it.
It was just more street stuff.
You know what I'm saying?
Right.
That's crazy. So, but holy moly, rock and roll, we didn't, I didn't hear about it. It was just more street stuff. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Right. That's crazy.
So,
but,
um,
holy moly,
rock and roll.
If we're getting in,
you ready?
Yeah.
All right.
Come on.
God damn it.
Holy moly.
I got notes,
man.
I got notes.
That's good.
Let's get it.
This,
this was something that was,
the beach by the pound.
Okay.
What was it?
Uh,
KLC and Calico,
I believe it is.
Uh,
no,
KLC,
I think it was,
um,
uh, KLC, Odell, Moby, I think Craig B and some other people.
It was a bunch of them.
So that was Beats by the Pack. Yeah, Beats by the Pack.
So when you look at all the first albums, all of you guys, it's all produced by the same producers.
Then you guys weak, this heavy heavy heavy plateau yeah and then all of a sudden when you look
at the documentary yeah it was actually like I think pee on the phone it was
like okay y'all don't want to work with us with but that's it and it was simply
like that yeah is that awkward you go to the studio every day with the same
producers and then you you go into that same studio and then it produces is gone
but I know you develop
a relationship,
at least a sound with them.
Definitely developed a sound.
A sound, yeah.
Yeah, no, it was.
And, you know,
you adjust to it,
but, you know,
when you have,
that's like Dre and Snoop
or whatever,
you know what I'm saying?
You have it
and you know to go to,
okay, I'm going to go to,
I'm going to go,
you hit, you know,
blah, blah, blah.
So it's kind of like
one of those things where
you have to get over that, and then how you
redevelop your sound when you have a hot sound.
And that was the most, that was the toughest thing.
And then you know the people,
so you kind of cool with everybody.
But yeah, I think that was the most.
But was that a business lesson?
Because at times, I'm sure you can't agree
with everything P do, you know what I'm saying?
And was there ever a time where you was like, damn, I wish he would have did this or did that like was that one of them or no
um no for me at the time it wasn't that because I didn't know about it I'm just kind of artist
respecting in everybody's face and kind of like doing my thing you know I'm I'm doing what I'm
doing so end of the day you know P is in control and so I just I just kind of whatever
he kind of went with that's what it was at that point so wasn't what it wasn't nothing I personally
knew at the time so I couldn't say if he did it right or wrong he might have had a justification
for or not I don't know what he had for it but yeah that was something I guess at the time it
it happened you know what I'm saying okay something that we we've um never had a chance to speak about on this show
is Soulja Slim. Soulja Slim is
so much of a legend. I remember
me hearing about him
and I remember him
for lack of a better term
from when we first heard
of y'all, that was one of the first
him and C-Murda really.
Those dudes are really street.
They're really, really, really street.
Soulja Slim, obviously, he, those dudes are really street. They're really, really, really street. And Soulja Slim,
obviously, he lost his life to the street. So can you speak about
Soulja Slim? Because we've never
spoke about him. Yeah. Soulja was
dope, man. He was like, before his time,
he was, I mean,
I was cool with him. I ain't had a chance to really
like know, you know, really
deep into him. But the streets loved him.
His hood loved him
and they
he had this aura about him
where
it was just
he could just do it
and you feel him
cause you know
he been there
he in the trenches with it
so it was dope man
so he was a gangster
first rapper second
he definitely was
a bit of a gangster
but you know
not really
you know
to the point where
it's just like
doing it like that
it was like yeah
you know mess with me
you know it's on it's up there so that's it but you it like that. It was like, yeah, you know, mess with me, you know, it's on, it's up there.
So that's it.
But you got to respect that though.
So, sure.
Now, C-Murda.
I've met C-Murda a couple times.
I've met C-Murda a couple times.
I'll tell you the second time
I've met C-Murda.
I think this is right after
y'all signed Snoop.
Yep.
This is after the incident
happened at whatever it was at.
And we had the Sauce Awards.
And I seen Nas the day before.
And Nas tell me,
yo, come on my bus.
And I go on Nas' bus.
And C-Burner's sitting there
with a TikTok and a shotgun.
Sounds about right.
Sounds about right.
That's the last person
I'm thinking walking on Nas' bus.
And I'm sitting there
and they had a real relationship.
I'm sitting there and how they talk to each other.
And I was like, that's something, like, you don't see no pictures with Nas and Steve Berger.
You don't see, like, that's, did you know about that?
I didn't know about it, but I know Steve would pop up.
Man, he be with everybody.
Like, I think, man, LL got a super love relationship for him.
Wow.
It just be, like you say, random.
Right, right.
Like, oh, you mess with Steve.
But, like, Ludo, everybody, you know, they got a genuine love for him
So I could imagine that and then Nas is 102 so I could I could see them to
TR you know, but you know the TR you right? It was a little discrepancy. Um
You know, obviously everyone know that's never that we see murders. Yeah crew. Yeah crew. Yeah. 2 Chainz comes out with TRU, basically TRU.
Yeah, yeah.
Did they ever work that out?
They actually did, man.
They talked on the phone, squared it away, kept it all cool.
I think it was more of a misunderstanding.
I think it was more of a respect thing,
where it's like, I think it was more of like a misunderstanding. I think it was more of like a respect thing where it's like
I think that the meanings
are different, but it is
the same. And I think that he
took that to offense.
But then once they talked, I think they was
cool. I think 2 Chainz saluted them
and said it wasn't no big deal.
And so they both worked it out
and I think they're really cool now for sure.
God damn it. Make some noise for that.
God damn it. Make some noise for that. Jeez noise for that Jeez Louise Papa cheese is going down. I'm ready to do some shots ready do some shots. All right, cool
No, I got the crazy. All right. What the hell? What is that? I'm not
At all. Yeah
I don't even look if it got on my finger and I went down with it. What is that? What is it?
It's moonshine moonshine? Holy moly. Okay.
Alright, so before we get into this,
before we get into that, alright, I said the 504 boys,
right? Okay. Oh, you dated
Monica too, right? No controversy.
No, I didn't date Monica at all.
No, no, no. That's C, girl.
Oh, that's right.
That's right.
Maya?
No, I didn't date Maya at all.
You was talking about a lot of bitches at one point.
I knew I can't mess it to my head at all. You was knocking down a lot of bitches at one point. I knew I came for messing with this guy.
Look at the shot.
I came for Norrie, but I'm telling you right now.
Let me just tell you, you was a sexy boy at one point.
At one point, every chick in the game,
you was running around with a boy or something like that.
A little bit.
Take a shot.
Yeah, take a shot.
Take a shot of some good shit.
You want some Ciroc?
You want some, oh yeah, some heavier shit.
I'm good, I'm good.
Okay, you good?
You sure?
I might be like completely sober.
Nah, nah, nah, you good.
You good.
Here, take a shot.
Here, you want to take it?
All right, cool.
Give me one of these, dude.
Give me one of these, dude.
Give me one.
Give me one.
Give me another cup.
Mmm.
Oh, that shit felt like it was crushed.
Oh, no, it's good.
I'm good.
Come on. Come on. We going to motherfucking... We don't know if you're going to be able to do it. Oh, that shit felt like it was crushed.
Oh, no, it's good.
I'm good.
Come on.
Come on.
We're going, motherfucker.
We don't know if you know what our show is about.
Our show is about giving people
their flowers while they alive.
You know what I'm saying?
You're a motherfucking legend.
You beat me in every category
of the Source Awards.
And we're going to talk about that.
Salud, guys.
But we're still good, though.
Are we good?
Are we good?
I heard the thing.
You beat me in every category.
You know that's the best year of my life, 1998.
Oh, damn, I was popping that time.
Oh, yeah.
Let's make some noise for you.
Let me tell you something.
It was me, pun, Daz, Daz.
No, no, me, pun, corrupt.
But Daz was with them.
And every award we came up,
he came up and he was like,
soak the shot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He was like, damn, nigga,
like I didn't win nothing.
Oh, man.
Because of you,
I never go to awards no more.
Okay, okay, okay.
He's traumatizing that shit.
My bad, my bad.
Listen, I was arguing with you.
You must have brought that shit up
like every other episode.
I argued with Benzino,
like, I'll tell you what, this was like, I had nothing I argued with Benzino, like, I'm talking about, this is like,
I had nothing to do with anything.
Like, we're arguing about ice cream or some dumb shit.
And I'm like, I'll never forget you for the
Sosa Awards. He's like, what are you talking about?
I swear to God. But yo,
so what were you talking about before that? You were talking about you knocking down
a lot of girls. No, I did not.
I didn't do such a thing.
Back in the days, though,
you married now? I'm definitely I'm married, too, but we such a thing. Come on. Back in the days, though, because what you got, you married now?
I'm definitely... I'm married, too,
but we had a past.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we had a past.
So, you know,
you was finger popping
a lot of things, right?
If you put it like that,
you...
Yeah, sure, but yeah.
You're not setting it up
for him to want to answer that.
Yeah, but that's a good setup.
Definitely before
my serious relationship
I'm in now, for sure.
But now,
no, I just,
I used to have a lot of, I had friends and stuff like that. Yeah, yeah, because, like, I'm not going to lie. He now, no, I just, I have friends
and stuff like that.
Yeah, yeah,
because like,
I'm not going to lie.
He's good, he's good.
He's good.
I'm not going to lie.
They had you in like
the Jay-Z category
type of style.
Like, you was,
like, no, I'm dead serious.
Like, yeah, no,
I'm dead serious.
Like, for real.
He agrees with you.
No, I'm telling you.
He got the point.
I'm telling you,
like, at one point
when we were all on that cover,
like, there were people telling us, now Silk is, y'all not on Silk's level. I'm telling you, like, at one point, when we were all on that cover, like, there were people telling us,
now Silk is, y'all not on Silk's level.
And we were like, really?
They're like, yo, he going to be compared to Jay-Z,
I swear to God.
There was like, the amount of chicks he was knocking down.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.
Not because of my talent?
That's what you're saying?
It's the room on the street, you know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Oh, man.
A lot of times the big economic forces we hear about on the news show up in our lives in small ways.
Three or four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding.
But the price has gone up, so now I only buy one.
The demand curve in action.
And that's just one of the things we'll be covering on Everybody's Business from Bloomberg Businessweek.
I'm Max Chavkin.
And I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith.
Every Friday, we will be diving into the biggest stories in business,
taking a look at what's going on, why it matters, and how it shows up in our everyday lives.
But guests like Businessweek editor Brad Stone, sports reporter Randall Williams,
and consumer spending expert Amanda Mull will take you inside the boardrooms, the backrooms,
even the signal chats that make our economy tick.
Hey, I want to learn about VeChain. I want to buy some blockchain or whatever it is that they're doing. So listen to Everybody's Business on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration in the United States.
Recipients have done the improbable, showing immense bravery and sacrifice in the name of something much bigger than themselves.
This medal is for the men who went down that day.
It's for the families of those who didn't make it.
I'm J.R. Martinez.
I'm a U.S. Army veteran myself,
and I'm honored to tell you the stories of these heroes on the new season of Medal of Honor, Stories of Courage
from Pushkin Industries and iHeart Podcast.
From Robert Blake, the first black sailor to be awarded the
medal, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice.
These are stories about people who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor,
going above and beyond the call of duty. You'll hear about what they did, what it meant,
and what their stories tell us about the nature of courage and sacrifice.
Listen to Medal of Honor on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The American West with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network,

Velvet Buck. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. Each episode, I'll be diving into
some of the lesser known histories of the West. I'll then be joined in conversation by guests
such as Western historian, Dr. Randall Williams, and-selling author and meat eater founder Stephen Ranella.
I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here.
And I'll say it seems like the Ice Age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves.
So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West
and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience
the region today. Listen to the American West with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app,

So no limit, man. I ain't gonna lie. It must
have been a lot of groupies around. I mean, this is
back in the days. A lot of
groupies. Disclaimer. What's your back in the days. A lot of groupies. What's
your favorite groupie story?
Groupie story.
Oh, well, then, I mean, I wasn't really
into it like that because I was like more
just trying to stay out of it, but
you would come to the hotel and stuff
and it would be just like a bunch of women
and then they'd be at your
door and then they'd be, it's like, so
I didn't, I wasn't, I don't really like that too much myself personally, but that was, it was, it was just. So what you was asking your door and then they be, it's like, so I didn't, I wasn't,
I don't really like that
too much myself personally
but that was,
it was,
it was just.
So what you was
asking the door
and saying,
it ain't my fault?
I was definitely saying
it's my fault,
now get out of here.
But no,
I wasn't really,
like,
but it was there,
it was just,
you know,
and at that moment
you don't really know
what it is,
you just,
you're going through
the motion
but you are successful
so at that time,
same thing right now,
it'll be the same thing
as now, It's just like
they're going to come.
You ain't give a fuck.
No, I didn't. I was just trying to get to the bag
and have fun and live life. That's about it.
Just focused.
How about Mystical? You ever seen Mystical?
No, I didn't.
That sounds like a trick question.
I didn't see Mystical.
It was like we was young.
I mean, Miskell was just like every other body.
He was just like randomly, you know, he just have fun, you know, just living his life.
I was not privy to that because I'm doing my own thing.
But, nah, shout out to Miskell for sure.
That's what's up, man.
They had the all-star team.
All-star team, yeah.
Now, back to this record when you and me, you go back.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm joking, I'm joking. No, no, all-star team. Now, back to this record when you... Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, no, no, that was real shit, that was real shit.
So, we good now?
Yeah, no, we've been good, we've been good.
Listen, listen, let me tell you something.
I'm the definition of hate the game and never the play.
Like, always like, I always blame the sauce, I did.
So, what would Benzino tell you then?
He was like, they were paying $250,000 to add.
And I was like, he did not say
I gave them an award.
He never said that.
They were buying ads in the assortment.
He said, of course,
my loyalty was kind of with them
like they was buying $250,000
ads at the time.
But he's never said
I gave them an award.
I can't ever take that from you.
I can't, I'm an honest person.
So, yeah, let me get a blunt.
Let me get a blunt.
Boris, you got one bro? Holy moly,
guacamole. Let's go, baby.
Let's go. Stand up. So, and that
album, what was it? Charged to the Game?
I think it was Charged to the Game or Made Man, one of those.
No, it was Charged to the Game. I remember.
Yeah, Charged to the Game. I think Charged to the Game.
The Charged to the Game had Jay-Z on it?
The Charged to the Game had Jay-Z on it?
Oh, that's not the one? Made Man?
Made Man? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Because I just heard a record with you.
You said, don't compare Jay-Z to Kodak.
Oh, that was another record.
But I did do a song with Jay-Z.
Yeah, no, we're going to get to that.
Hold on.
Okay, go ahead.
Go ahead.
I got the questions lined up.
Move along.
Okay, hold on.
So you said, don't compare Jay-Z to Kodak.
What was the exact line?
So I'm more, no, hold on.
Is that what I said?
Don't compare Jay-Z to Kodak, but I think I'm more,
because I'm more Kodak than Jay-Z.
Or Jay-Z than Kodak.
I think I flipped it so bad, both ways.
So you can't compare the two, but I was saying that,
but I'm more Kodak.
I got to get that line, that's a good one.
I gotta figure that out, you gotta figure that part out.
You don't got the record, man?
Wait, wait, wait, that was, it just slipped on us.
We didn't, we wasn't prepared.
It was just, I'm more Jay-Z than Kodak.
So it's on the, it's on the,
it's on the I'll Make Sense Later album.
It's a pretty good line, I mean, man.
Oh, so, so that's recent.
Cause Kodak is recent, yeah. So that's recent. Because Kodak is recent.
So you like Kodak?
Is that an artist you've met?
No, I met him.
He's out of his mind.
I like directness.
I met Kodak in a restaurant.
He brung his own chicken.
Let's make some noise for him.
Anybody get their own chicken
in the after show.
We did him round 112,
and he said,
here's some of that
Haitian chicken, boy.
I said,
if this nigga don't remind me
of a Rich Sonny,
he bought his own chicken.
Listen, by the way,
Prime 112
is a pretty great restaurant.
He brought it from the crib?
I don't know.
He just said,
this is that Haitian chicken, boy.
I said, oh,
I had to pick a piece
of Haitian chicken.
They probably just cooked it
the way he wanted it.
No, he added in the white shit this is like the organic food kings coming he had his own shit
i looked i said this is this this is proud boys man these are these boys they different man
definitely different yeah he's a different dude man would you like to work with um new artists
like that i do um but i see it's so many talented artists. I'm like,
man,
it's a lot of good ones too.
So it's kind of good
to keep seeing it
redevelop.
Most people are like,
oh man,
we want to be stuck
in a time where
that's the era
that they like.
But I'm like,
you know,
artists,
talents,
you can tell.
I don't care if it's country,
rock,
whatever.
I feel it's talent.
That's it.
And people like Kodak,
you know,
sometimes a little bit,
they do stuff they way,
but still the talent is there though.
Yeah.
No, no, no.
That's,
I fuck with him.
I fuck with him.
He crazy as the motherfucker.
Crazy as the motherfucker.
So,
all right.
Okay, yeah.
My block to your block.
Yep, that's the one.
That's the record with Jay-Z.
Okay.
How did this happen?
So, you know what?
Jay, I mean, so it's funny that Jay is, like, successful.
But, you know, back then, he had the work ethics of...
That's real.
No, no, but I'm saying...
He's like, it's funny.
I'm saying because it's the people who have that kind of determination and drive.
It takes them a while.
But like we like even like going Jadakiss, you say like Jadakiss has been dope.
Right.
But I think yesterday proves to everybody else that who didn't know how dope he was.
Right.
So it shows he's great, actually.
But he's been great, though.
Right.
So with Jay, it's like even from the first time at priority, whatever he was doing, whatever he's trying to look for a deal, actually. But he's been great, though. Right, exactly. So with Jay, it's like, even from the first time at Priority, whatever he was doing, whatever, he was trying to look for a deal, whatever.
When was that part?
I already did.
I didn't even peep that.
Quick.
He was there quick.
But what happened was, this is a funny story.
It's like, I wanted Jay.
Nobody really knew Jay at the time, but I kind of wanted him before.
And then it kind of worked out.
We got together.
And so I'm like, yo, I need this song. And by that time, by the time I actually got to it, Jay was kind of wanted before and then it kind of worked out we got together and so I'm like yo I need this song
and by that time
by the time I actually got to it
Jay was kind of popping
a little more
and rest in peace to DMX too
I think
it's supposed to be me
DMX and Jay on the record
and yo and then DMX was like
I got you
you know what I'm saying
not to say I got you
but I got you right
and I think what happened
I had a
he's watching us right there look he's watching my guy you know what I right? And I think what happened, I had a... He's watching us right there.
Look, he's watching.
My guy.
You know what I'm saying?
Absolutely.
But, so what happened was, my album had...
Remember the...
It was a tour that Jay-Z and DMX was on.
Yeah, the...
No, it was a...
It was a Hard Knock Life tour.
That's the one, right?
That's the one.
So, what happened was, my album was supposed to be turned in on a Thursday
at 10,
11 a.m.
And,
I think,
the tour was over
Wednesday night.
Okay.
So,
Wednesday night.
And,
I needed,
I said,
I need this thing
by Thursday,
we're remastering it,
right?
Right.
So,
And,
y'all in the same session
or he at the same seat? No, no, he's in, he's at the concert, it, right? Right. And y'all in the same session?
No, no, no.
He's at the concert.
He's at the concert.
And he was like, I got you. But, you know, it's funny because he left the show, I think, immediately,
went back and knocked it out like three or four in the morning and sent it.
You know what I'm saying?
For you to make the time in the morning. For me to make time. You know what I'm saying? For you to make the time in the morning.
For me to make time.
You know what I'm saying?
And he could have just been,
you know,
and I'm tired,
I just rocked the show.
And Salute to DMX too,
he didn't really want to do it,
but he just probably was like,
I'm going to get in the morning,
I didn't have time to do it,
so I just had to go with,
boom,
with Jay Gaiman.
He came through, man,
and I hit Jay,
I'm like, yo,
because Jay killed it.
I'm like, yo,
how much I owe you?
Jay like,
it ain't even nothing.
I was about to give him 100. He was like, nah, we good I owe you? Jay like, it ain't even nothing. I was about to give him a hundred.
He was like, nah, we good on the house.
And it's good because he asked me to do something.
I did something for him.
So it was dope.
It was a dope situation.
Jay's solid, man.
Jay's all the solid.
Let's just be clear.
He just said, I was going to give him a hundred.
Let's just be clear.
It ain't a hundred dollars.
It's a hundred dollars.
It's on the way.
It's on the way. It's on the way.
Holy guacamole.
It's on the way.
You know what I'm saying?
Shout out to Jake.
That was one thing that was known that's like the difference, and I don't want to bring
up the other company.
One company is kind of known for not paying people.
I mean, I'm sorry.
The fuck?
You don't hear the rumors?
The fuck?
All right.
Cool.
It's just me.
All right.
No problem. I'll take it. All right, but then Master P and No Limit
was known for the exact opposite,
for paying the artists, for everyone.
Even if you look at it, they said,
everyone got a watch, everyone got a car,
everyone got a house in their name.
Not just a house, a watch, and a car
under someone else's name.
They could always take it away,
which we heard that happened in Death Row,
which we heard that happened in these other companies what what made you think that he wanted to do right by his
artist what made what how you develop that i think that at the time maybe not knowing but just um
having the resources to do it um seemed like the right thing to do and then i I think if you're making money, you should be able to pay.
You know, you pay the money.
You know what I'm saying?
Because that's how you make more money.
You kind of keep it going.
You don't want to, you know, not give somebody that they're not going to work for.
You know what I'm saying?
So I think that was the formula.
It was good business.
Yeah, formula.
Yeah, for sure.
No, that's different, man.
That's real, real, real, real different.
You know, even the Snoop thing.
Yeah.
You know, it bugged me out to hear Snoop say,
after, I think it's after the chronic,
after Doggystyle,
after something like that,
he was broke and he asked for $3,500.
And then Master B gave him $35,000.
Like, if that don't prove loyalty to you,
like, you immediately become loyal to a person.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, that was ill.
Like, you never watched the documentary?
Yeah, no, we watched it when P came.
Okay, okay, okay, that's right, that's right, that's right.
I didn't watch it when P came.
I didn't.
Yeah, yeah, that's crazy, that's crazy.
But, you know, that...
So, did you realize, like...
I spoke to Fat Joe yesterday, right? And Fat Joe said to me, he was like, yo, man, you realize, like, I spoke to Fat Joe yesterday, right?
And Fat Joe said to me, he was like, yo, man, you should have came out here.
I said, man, I had a shock.
I can't leave.
And he's like, so he's like, yo, but this is one of the moments where you're in history
and you know that this is history that you're creating.
I asked you that.
Like, did you know when y'all was, like, on top of the world and doing these albums week after week after week after week?
Even though you might have not been on the employee side, but that was your brother who was doing it.
So you got to get credited for that.
Anyway, did y'all know y'all was in the middle of history?
And what it was doing for the South, too, on top of that.
Yeah.
At the time, we didn't really know.
We was just hungry, had a plan, executed it.
And I think when you do that, and nobody else is doing that,
because we would outwork everybody.
We would be, like, going to sleep on the floor.
We would wear the same clothes 10 days in a row.
And we was, like, if you're paying us chicken,
we're going to come to the concert and tour.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, we was like, oh, you got $5?
So it was more, like, the work ethic.
And I think that every time that we went somewhere like
we would be like in a in a hood right like we'll come your hood you'd be like what y'all doing here
and people you know in the hood they like yo you ain't from back here you can get it right but we
had we met people that was like yo we're gonna let you slide this time because y'all crazy but
we're gonna buy this cd you know this this the people in the neighborhood who's who's talk that talk and walk that walk so um so that's the same thing with us
we was like in that moment we didn't really know we was just doing it so when we come to new york
and we pass not the cds you remember it we go to dc we go to florida and and so by we hitting that
grassroots campaign every time we look up we have a new base that's like, oh, I'm going to get these guys.
And we put the money back into the projects.
So it was constantly putting it back, putting it back.
And then but you will also see people like, oh, I like y'all.
I really like y'all.
And then it was growing and it was like no declining because when you go pick your first checkup, so you're in the hood.
Then you go pick your first checkup, so you're in the hood, then you go pick your first checkup for this amount of money,
and you did it on your own,
you just say,
oh, I made this happen with this,
so you take the bulk of it again
and put it back,
and it kept on,
you know, money makes stuff happen.
I was telling Nori that,
I remember, I said 94,
but I think it was 95,
how can I be down?
I remember you guys coming out here
and it was like,
it felt like it was a thousand people
wearing no lipsticks. Yeah, yeah. You know, like, it was like yeah, it was just an impression that that's an impression on me. Yeah for sure
You know mm-hmm
Yep, that's who yeah
So so um I didn't this happens it but once time where it seems like everyone's leaving the lake, right?
Mm-hmm. I believe Mystical left first.
Then this is your brother.
Yeah.
So, I imagine you don't have no option to leave because you got to look at him on Thanksgiving.
I imagine.
I imagine.
I can't.
I know I wouldn't let my brother leave.
Like, nigga, you ain't going nowhere.
Like, let me make mistakes with everyone else,
but you stay.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I think it happened like two or three times
because it was like
a new low limit.
But the first time it happened,
you had to be 18,
some shit like that.
And you see all of your friends
that you're used to leaving.
What is going through your mind?
Are you saying
this is business
and you understanding that
or are you saying,
man,
like life is hitting you hard
because...
That's a good question.
At the time, I was just in it.
I don't think I really appreciated
like what was going on around me.
I was so locked in on what I was doing.
I know that, I'm sure, you know,
some of the artists had grievances.
I'm sure, you know, I'm sure
everybody felt a certain way or whatever.
So I was out of that loop with that that I just kind of went with the punches and then me you know at that time kind of
like the loyalty is with the family um and I didn't hear what they were saying so I'm kind of like
yeah whatever I ain't trying to hit none of that stuff y'all talking about but I'm sure everybody
had a probably a reason that they thought they probably was, you know, but I wasn't privileged to it.
So I was just looking at it like, oh, us against y'all, you know, whatever.
But, you know, it wasn't really like that.
It was just I don't know what the business part of it.
They probably were just felt a certain way.
And we don't know.
I don't know.
I stayed out of it.
Like one of the illest dudes I know is Jungle, right?
Because Jungle is Nas' brother.
And when you see Jungle, when Jungle just walks on the street,
there's people that just gets at Jungle just to get at his brother.
Oh, gotcha.
Is that something you ever had to go through?
Like people trying to get at you to get at Pete?
Or people trying to tell you their stories?
Like, I'm just giving, I'm just saying, like Cain and Abel or something.
Like coming to you and saying, Silk, man,
can you tell Peter to let me go? You went
through some shit like that before?
I'm sure I did.
I remember many conversations where I'm
talking to people and they have
grievances, good or bad. Some of them have
good stories, like, oh, I want to do this, and some
of them have, I guess, stories where they're like, I want to
move and do this way.
So, yeah yeah that happens
a couple times
a lot of times and I want to say to you
shout you out too because I heard
that you stayed for your boy so I
appreciate that and I was like
you can be anywhere in the world
they offered me a jet and everything
I said I'm not doing it
it's too important
because let me just tell you something like you know through and everything. I said I'm not doing this. It's too important.
Let me just tell you something.
Through all this shit, it was all in a good game.
Not just you personally. I just think I'm a better artist.
Not just you personally, but
overall to anybody.
When you think like that,
I'm going to have to go look at the numbers
and you look and you say damn this motherfucker
did though 2 million
I went a slow million
that year
like you got to
just give it up
no for real
like I did go platinum
but it was a slow platinum
my pun was a fast platinum
DMX was the fastest platinum
I've never seen nobody
go as fast as him
and then did it again
that year
but didn't you drop
another album that year
in 98 yep and I think that one I sold. But didn't you drop another album that year in 98?
Yep, and I think that one
I sold the first one, yep.
So, you did what DMX did.
I did some numbers.
Wow, look a lot of people don't know that.
Look, because I remember I think
if I'm not wrong
Chargers to the Game dropped in February.
Yeah, early February.
No, early February, I think earlier February.
Early February and then yeah,
and see what album... When you Google then, yeah, see what album,
when you Google that,
and then see what album dropped because I believe
you did the same shit.
I did.
I did drop two albums.
Word.
For sure.
For sure.
So, why are you so humble, man?
I just feel...
We're going to make you take a shot
and get this humble shit out of you, man.
I know.
You're going to start popping some shit.
I'm out of here.
Get Jack through that, man.
I'm out of here.
We're going to get you
popping some shit.
Oh, my God.
You're going to talk about
your finger popping anything. Oh, my God. Forever 98. Jack, you popping some shit. You're going to talk about your finger popping everything.
Oh, my God.
Forever 98.
What was the same album that he dropped that same year?
It might have been...
Made Men?
Yeah, I think Made Men.
Made Men?
That's the same year?
It was very close.
I know that much.
It might be beginning of 99.
I'm not sure.
Let's see.
January 29th. You on it. Come on, man. I know not sure. What's that? January 29th. Yeah, so yeah. You on it, you on it. Come on man, I know my shit.
I never told nobody.
I know my shit.
I'm a hip hopper for real man.
Come on man, I'm glad.
I did that without Googles too.
I did that without Googles, yeah.
That's a new thing.
Going to Google, you know what I'm saying?
So, do you know the impact that you made on the game?
Do you know like...
Because I can see you're a humble guy.
I can one million're a humble guy.
I can 1 million percent tell, and I appreciate that.
But, like, you know, Buster, Buster Rhymes,
he always tell me that.
He's like, yo, I like your humbleness,
but fuck that shit.
So, for lack of a better term,
I'm saying the same shit to you.
I like your humbleness, but fuck that.
Like, do you know who you are in this game?
Do you know what you really, really did?
Like, on your own, without your brother.
I know.
Okay. No, no, no, you no you uh no it's funny bro and i we i had this conversation like a couple nights
ago and you were 100 correct on it and i'm glad you brought up because i am humble i am quiet and
we just said that we're actually doing some stuff where i'm gonna bring people to my everyday life
right because my everyday life is crazy. But I really
do know now what I did.
And I shout out to all the artists,
all the CEOs, all the people.
Shout out to
my guy
Quality Control. He really
told me that. He's like, Silk, you know, you're
one of my favorite rappers, right?
But some of the rappers
say it as well.
What happened?
Oh.
What is he wearing?
It's James Bond.
He look like burnt aluminum for you.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Make some noise for Jack Thriller.
Did somebody say Jack and cocaine?
Jack and cocaine.
Oh, my God.
Let him finish, though, please.
No, no.
But what you're saying is,
that's correct,
and I think that's a flaw by,
you know, that's not really good.
It's good to be that way,
but I ain't gonna lie.
Humanly.
It's good humanly good,
but honestly,
I really do know what I did
because people tell me all the time,
and I'm humble, but I'm like, you F'd that. You know what I'm because all people tell me all the time and I'm
humble but I'm like you f that you know yeah I'm about to get out of that because um you know you
you put the work in and what a lot of people will say is oh you still use before your time too
right you know and then the artists I love the artists too because even a newer generation they
they um they kind of see what what we saw so what, I never was rapping off beat.
Right.
People just listening wrong.
You know what I'm saying?
That was a big, big, big,
one of the things I always do,
because Twitter is like
the most negative place
to go in the world.
So whenever I interview an artist,
I always say,
I'll go to Twitter.
And Twitter will be like,
yo, I got Siddha Shaka,
I got such and such.
And they always say
the meanest things in the world.
So I take some of them
and I use it for the interview. And one of the things I said is when I said I got Siddilla Shaka, I got such and such. And they always say the meanest things in the world, so I take some of them and I use it for the interview.
And one of the things I said is when I said I got Silla Shaka,
they immediately said, why was he always rhyming off beat?
You said they were hearing it wrong.
No, for sure.
Yes, okay.
No, just think about it.
If you back back and listen to it,
now everybody want me to rap like I used to rap.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
A lot of people say you blue face farther lyrically.
But blue face is dope, though.
No, no, blueface is dope as shit to me.
But what I'm saying is when I said that,
it was like, if it wasn't for Silk, there would be
no blueface. But I feel like they're
saying, because the offbeat thing. What do
you think? That's exactly what they're saying.
But you're saying not offbeat, just
a different pocket.
Okay, I'm sorry. No, no, the way the flow was, it was just a different pocket. Well, yeah. Oh, I'm sorry.
You know, the way the flow was, it was just a different pocket.
It was it was so on point, though. Like, right. And I did it that way on purpose. But I also did it that way because who wants the same thing? Right.
So but if you listen to it now, it makes sense. And nobody wants the same thing now.
They're like, so you should got you got to go back and do what you used to do before. Because not only is the offbeatness,
but also
my scream, my yell, my up, my
down, all of it was designed.
And if you listen to it now, you would understand.
Because you got to be a person that says,
listen, if you don't like
Keith Sweat, you're not going to like him.
If you don't like... I like Keith Sweat, though. Of course, me too.
But if you don't like...
I took a shot for Keith Sweat. I like Keith Sweat, though. Of course, me too. But if you don't like... I'm going to take a shot for Keith Sweat.
Shot of Keith Sweat.
Just on the strength of that.
Jack, we're ready to take a shot for Keith Sweat.
We got to take a shot for Keith Sweat.
We're going to take a shot for anybody.
I need that.
Did your nasty asses put your gum in your shot glass?
No, that was him.
Oh, okay.
All right, cool.
That was him.
He didn't want no shot.
I'm going to put this on eBay.
Let's go on eBay.
All right, yeah, go on eBay.
Go ahead.
You want a shot, too?
No, no, no.
You want a shot of moons? No, no, no.
You want a shot of moonshot?
No, no.
Where's our bottle boy?
Bottle boy.
Bottle boy.
Bottle boy.
Bottle boy.
Bottle boy.
Mr. Lee, man.
That's your new eye.
That's your new eye.
That's your new eye.
Yo, Jack, you got on makeup?
Huh?
You got on makeup.
Yeah, I got on makeup.
I got on makeup.
You know what I'm saying?
I want to make you.
I want to make you.
I got my nails done too.
This some pimp shit.
Come on now.
I have a reason to turn the chat.
You want this?
You got acrylics?
I would like to get some of that please.
Okay, come on, let me get you a plastic mask as well.
Yeah, please.
Oh shit.
Come on, let the bottom boy do it.
Yeah, I ain't gonna lie.
We gonna use this nigga today.
We gonna use him today.
We gonna, I know the drill today.
Logan, I'm trying some.
Try some man.
This is a shot, not a shot.
I ain't trying none of that shit.
And Silk, I don't suggest you try none of that.
I'm not doing it.
Finish your shot, though, Silk.
You can finish your shot.
Oh, my goodness.
Listen, Silk.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
This is all about you, Salou.
Salou, this is all about you.
Yeah, yeah.
Appreciate it, my guy.
Cheers, fellas.
Cheers.
Appreciate it.
So, Jack, we ain't speak to you since the piece of push and fire at you.
Yeah.
We had difficulties getting the new contract together.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, and so you know, I moved,
I'm trying to get my own pizza pussy shit going on.
Yeah, yeah, pizza pussy?
It's only a piece of pussy.
No, no, no, no, man, no.
Don't do the pizza pussy no more.
You see, I done changed the flow of my Instagram stories.
You know, there's no more ladies in there no more.
You used to be one of my favorite subscribers
Oh Come on. He wasn't the only one. He was the only one. He was only Jack.
He was subscribed to only Jack.
Yeah, yeah.

No, she... You gotta love every part of her. I feel like you eat ass in a day. I mean, well, I mean, you... You don't love your wife then. No, no, no. You can't love her if you don't eat ass. No, she-
You gotta love every part of her.
I feel like you eat ass in a jay.
I mean, well, I mean, you-
From the rooter to the tooth.
I mean, you just want it, but she not want it.
You just gonna take it from her.
That's what you wanna do now.
Man, they had a song called Downtown.

Oh, yeah.
But did crazy

direct-to-video.
The Pacino Scarface,
because there's a couple.
Bowdy Bowdy was the quintessential
of direct-to-consume.
This was the first time
we got a chance to see
that a person didn't have to go to Paramount,
didn't have to go to Universal,
Sony, all these big things.
They could actually come and do it.
Is that something you was too young to fathom,
to understand what was going on?
Not really, because I was there for the transition
of going into putting ourself on screen.
So even some of the videos, you go back and look at the videos,
we was going crazy with the videos.
We was spending like half a million, a million dollars on the videos. It was look at the videos we was we was going crazy with the videos we were spending like half a million a million dollars on the videos it was

They in the video and they on the record?

They was on the song.
Yeah.
Damn.
Guys, we gotta make some noise for that.
Let's put Beyonce on, bro.
Nope, I know what I'm saying.
Beyonce on.
No, actually that was one of the first songs that,
I mean she had her own little buzz,
but that was a good song.
Her own little? Her own little, yeah. Beyonce dope. Come actually, that was one of the first songs that, I mean, she had her own little buzz, but that was a good song. Her own little?
Her own little, yeah.

I'll let you know right now.
That's not what I was thinking about
when I said what I said.
Just making sure.
Just making sure.
Yeah, so back to how I got the hookup and whatnot,
the only thing it was competing with
was the R. Kelly tape at the time.
And whatnot, because it was, everybody had both VHS is at the same time
Wait, I got the hookup all about about it. Well, I got the hookup no about about it about about about about it
Oh, thanks. Was that at Same director. I was 14 at the time, too. It was regular porn for me.
I was 14, so it was regular porn for me.
Oh, good. All right, cool.
We're going to do something called Quick Time with Slime,
right?
Now, in Quick Time with Slime, this is you either
answer one or the other, or if you don't, you take a shot.
If you realize you're not really drinking like that,
so he just takes two for you, OK?
OK. You know. Good job, good he just takes two for you. Okay. All right.
You know.
Good job.
Good job.
You're built for this, Jack.
I'm going to start double.
Good job.
You look just like him.
All right.
What shot do you prefer?
You prefer the Marijuana?
I'm losing all these.
No, we don't have Marijuana.
We got Moonshine.
Let me try that Moonshine.
You want to try that Moonshine? Yeah, we don't want to put the pickle in there. Come here. Leave. Leave. got Marijuana. We got moonshine. Let me try that moonshine. You want to try that moonshine?
You wouldn't want to put the pickle in there.
Come here, leave.
Leave, we need you, brother.
With the pickle.
He wants the moonshine.
He like, he like the moonshine with the pickle in it.
Yeah.
It's not a pickle, bro.
All right.
It's a fucking proven solution.
So if you say both, Jack takes the shot.
Apricot.
OK.
If you say one or the other, then, you know,
it's just moving on.
OK.
Neither is a shot, too.
If you say neither or both.
Okay, okay.
All right.
So you ready?
Yep.
Oh, that's beer.
I'm about to say, yo, what are you doing?
I thought that was moonshine. My bad.
Nas or Jay-Z?
Ooh, snap.

Damn.
Don't put your nose

All right, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Sorry.
Okay, sorry.
Hold on.
Damn.
Jay-Z.
Jay-Z, all right, cool.
This is easy as well.
Master P or Birdman?
Master P, for sure.
Of course.
Soldier Slim or Big L?
Soldier Slim, for sure.
Okay.
DMX or Tupac?
Get them to take a shot.
Don't, remember,
go both.
Don't worry about it. It's not your liver. Oh, maybe it is. You take a half a shot. Remember, you can go both. Don't worry about it.
It's not your liver.
Oh, maybe it is.
You take a half a shot.
Didn't y'all tour?
Let's go both.
Let's go both?
Go both.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we did a little tour.
You sure you want to take a little shot, too?
I'm good.
I'm good.
You're good?
All right, cool.
Double up, my boy.
Double up, my boy.
Okay, cool.
We're going to take two of these, or this will count as one?
That counts as two.
That counts as one.
That counts as one.
Or two and one half.
We just take one, though, right?
Yeah, take one gulp, and then you save a little. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Yeah, yeah. That's like two. That count as one. That count as one. Or two and one half. We just take one though, right?
Yeah, take one gulp and then you save a little.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right.
That's like two shots, yeah.
It's good, man.
No worries.
Oh, yeah, I'm in.
It's an easy drink.
I was going to go drink in the night, but anyway.
OK.
Where's my bottle?
This is easy too, man.
OK.
These guys, I got to start proofreading these things

Dr. Dre.
Okay.

But guests like Businessweek editor Brad Stone, sports reporter Randall Williams,
and consumer spending expert Amanda Mull will take you inside the boardrooms, the backrooms, even the signal chats that make our economy tick.
Hey, I want to learn about VeChain. I want to buy some blockchain or whatever it is that they're doing.

The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration in the United States.
Recipients have done the improbable, showing immense bravery and sacrifice in the name of something much bigger than themselves.
This medal is for the men who went down that day.
It's for the families of those who didn't make it.
I'm J.R. Martinez.
I'm a U.S. Army veteran myself, and I'm honored to tell you the stories of these heroes on the new season of Medal of Honor,
Stories of Courage from Pushkin Industries and iHeart Podcast. From Robert Blake, the first Black
sailor to be awarded the medal, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the
Medal of Honor twice. These are stories about people who have distinguished themselves by acts
of valor, going above and beyond the call of duty. You'll hear about what they did, what it meant,
and what their stories tell us about the nature of courage and sacrifice. Listen to Medal of Honor on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The American West with Dan Flores is the latest
show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network, hosted by me, writer and historian Dan Flores, and brought
to you by Velvet Buck. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. Each episode,
I'll be diving into some of the lesser known histories of the West. I'll then be joined in
conversation by guests such as Western historian, Dr. Randall Williams, and bestselling author and
meat eater founder, Stephen Ranella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave
people were here. And I'll say, it seems like the ice age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves.
So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West
and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today.

So I want to go back to when y'all toured with Pac, right?
Yep, yep.
Any crazy stories?
Any stories of dealing with Pac back then?
I think.
Was that the first tour that you went?
No, he was on a smaller tour.
I think PNC was the main ones on that tour.
I think I may have, because I seen Pac and met him a time or two.
Tell them the up-and-coming story about the Pac, where you was like,
hey, nigga, you want to take your shit to another level if you get your dicks up in the club.
Come on, Jack.
I don't think I ever remembered that story.
You told me that story.
I don't remember that story. I don't remember that story.
I don't remember that story at all.
What story do you remember?
He told Pop.
You don't remember telling Pop?
I have just one Pop story.
It was a funny story.
I think it was
an E-40 video or something like that.
I think
at that time,
Underground was really big in the Bay Area. There was an e40 video or something like that and I think Because at that time I was like Loki
Underground was really big in a Bay Area like I was like I think my first song I did it just blew up out of nowhere
He was an underground rapper Underground, he was Underground.
So what he did was, I mean, I was young.
I was hecka young then, but the buzz had kind of got out of, like, this new rap or whatever, blah, blah, blah.
And E-40 was the first person, like, really on top of it.
Like, it was took a shock, you know what I'm saying?
But E-40 and Tupac and everybody was good friends.
So I think...
They stole his shit.
They stole his shit. They stole his shit.
They stole my nigga's shit.
Nothing like that.
You have given Miss Rose's.
Give Miss Rose's.
So he was at a E-40 video
and Puck was actually there.
And I was looking like,
I was younger too.
I was looking like,
Puck keep looking at me.
I'm like, man, this is crazy.
But I'm not really knowing.
What level of Pac is this?
Where is he at?
This one, he was...
Brandon's got a baby, Pac?
I think so, but I wasn't,
I ain't know that type of thing,
but I was like,
I was still young in the streets
and stuff like that.
You already knew who he was.
It wasn't like...
I knew of him,
but I didn't know the impact
he had at that time.
What's the level of looking at you
he was doing?
He was looking at me,
but I was more looking like,
at that time,
You want big nigga,
you can get it.
Well, not saying that,
but I was more looking at like,
at that time,
anybody looking at me
could get it.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I was fresh out, whatever.
Fresh out of jail.
Fresh out, whatever.
I was fresh out, whatever.
I was with whatever at that time.
And it's white tea.
And so,
what happened was,
but they had,
I think they was just thought they
was listening to music together they was like until Pac was listening to it and
was you know like I when I first time I first met Drake I was like it was it was
first on their own but I was good at knowing music I'm like oh this is gonna
be good one day right I mean he's probably just blowing up but I didn't
know it but I listen to music I'm like whatever the first the first album he
came out was that the mixtape, Joe?
All Eyes on Me?
No, I'm talking about Drake.
It was a mixtape.
Yeah, the mixtape.
So when I heard it, we was jamming this back and forth.
Everybody in the car just jamming and jamming.
So when I met him, I was like, he ain't made it there yet,
but when I met him, he was, to me, it was like he was going to blow.
Same thing, I'm not saying I know the talent, but little baby.
I was just like, first record, second record, I was like he was going to blow. I'm not saying I know the talent, but little baby.
I was just like first record, second record, I was like this dude
going to be good if he keep his
ethics up.
I guess with Pac was the same thing.
He was just jamming and listening,
saying, okay, this dude got talent. Then I walk on
the set of the video, but he's looking
at me like
you don't have beef with me, but you be like
that's so shocking. You stole all my records. Mr. have beef with me, but you be like, that's Silk Shock who stole all my records
and I'm like, but Mr. Shrek is mutual,
but you be like, Silk, you know.
But at the same, and that's what he was just looking at me,
kept looking down, looking up, and I'm like, yo.
But then I found out later that he was just like,
I just listened to your music.
You liked your outfit.
That too, probably not, but the outfit was horrible.
So Park was listening to your music
and that's why he was looking at you. Yeah just it was just i did i was just kind of not thinking about it at
that time like nobody should be looking at me you know what i'm saying that's how i felt but
out of out of mutual respect part of it it was really dope um but it was more of a like a
i didn't know how to look at that but it was really him just you know kind of saluting
i was young i was definitely young but it was dope it was like and at that, but it was really him just, you know, kind of saluting each other. You were young. I was young.
I was definitely young,
but it was dope.
It was like,
and then we met
and it was super dope
and I was just like,
oh, that's crazy.
You actually got to meet Tupac.
Like, he handshake all that?
We did.
I did meet him later though.
A lot later.
Yeah, for sure.
Yeah, for sure.
I never got to meet Tupac.
But I know,
it's funny though,
I met some people
and it was kind of crazy
where just looking back at it,
because even like Beyoncé,
just watching that growth,
we was like literally neighbors.
Actually, the song,
they came by the house
and recorded it.
Beyoncé came to your house?
Not like that, man.
Stop it.
No, no, I didn't mean
like that either.
Yeah, we recorded the song
the first,
just straight with me at the house.
Disrespect me at the house? No, the just be straight with me song. Oh, just respect me. Okay, got it. Yeah, we recorded this song the first, just straight with me at the house. Disrespect me at the house?
No, the just be straight with me song.
Oh, just respect me.
Okay, got it.
Yeah.
Nah, we was all like,
we was all,
everybody know each other,
so we was good, yeah.
Indeed, indeed.
Hey man,
but skipping over that Tupac thing though,
what you was just saying.
You don't skip over Tupac.
No, no, no, no,
not skipping over that.
I was just,
Skipping back to it you're saying?
Yeah, coming back to the Tupac,
Tupac thing and whatnot.
Like, did you know that this guy was going to be as big as his...
I feel like that's what he was saying.
Like, he felt like...
I think, yeah, so in the Bay, it's a little different.
They kind of cater to their own.
And then I felt like...
And that's Tupac from the Bay,
because he was originally coming out with Digital Underground.
And then when y'all was in Richmond, Richmond is in the Bay, right?
Yep, Richmond in the Bay, yeah, for sure.
But it's just like, once again, when you see it, because even when you go back and look at Digital Underground, he stood out, though.
Yeah.
He stood out like, oh, man, it's this guy.
And same thing with me.
My first record, I stood out so much.
When you go back and listen to it, I think it was, um i gotta see what the song was but it i was just raw and i and everybody
knew it and so we do fast forward it you tell yourself like oh it's consistent of probably
being more before my time and and i i never really wrote songs though so i just kind of
freestyle everything i rarely wrote if i wrote something i just wrote like one word one word
like cat hat sack whatever like that and everything else i put in myself hey would that to freestyle everything. I rarely wrote. If I wrote something, I just wrote one word, one word, one word.
Cat, hat, sack, whatever like that. Everything else I put
in myself.
I got my real Tupac question.
Now, the way Tupac went over to the West
Coast and got the recognition that he deserved,
right? You was inside
the N.O.
Also, Norrie from the N.O.,
E.E.F.N.
You originally from here, right?
I'm originally born in L.A. but raised in Miami.
So you go to this foreign land, this foreign land,
and you get more respect than you did at home.
But remember, look what we're saying.
We're talking about because Pop made his chops in the Bay Area.
Right.
On the West.
Right.
He's really bi-coastal in reality.
Absolutely.
No question.
But people from New York,
they
constantly say, Tupac,
he turned his back on New York and whatnot.
Fuck Tupac. It's biggie all
the way. But if you ain't getting
it at home and you go abroad,
what's wrong with that? And Nori,
you had plenty of conversations
where you get booked
inside of your early career
In different spots
You even talked about
The Puerto Rican era
Of NO
Of the Spanish area
The Spanish
There's a whole Spanish area
Of New Orleans
I didn't even know that
Of New Orleans
The average motherfucker
Don't even know that
I used to go to New Orleans
So much because
People just think that
It's just Creole
And French and all that
Some of the motherfuckers
Is Latinos
And I used
to get booked so much.
That's how I discovered
all of that music.
It was going there. And first off, they got
the greatest cuisine in the world.
You know what I'm saying?
But there's a ghetto everywhere in the world.
And that shit is like...
When you into that, that shit is just
the illest shit
In the world
But um
Is there anything wrong
With going to where it's at
Where you
You're celebrated
Like you do on drink shows
Yeah you go where you celebrate
Not where you tolerate
But I think
Jack I think you're confusing it
Because Pac
He came
His music career
Started on the west coast
It started
My only thing with Pac
His music started on the west coast
Yeah in the bay
He was a young kid
Dancing for Digital Underground
in the Bay.
My only thing with Polly,
when he went to the West Coast,
he was already
almost a grown man.
I'm talking about
when he went back, back.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
It really was East Coast
that raised him.
You know what I'm saying?
New York and Baltimore.
Ain't nothing wrong
with going where you celebrate.
Ain't nothing wrong
with going where you celebrate
and don't go where you tolerate.
That's how I was born. I just think he's from all those areas, man.
I think he did so much in so many places that I don't think he felt like he was from one place or the other.
No, that's why I can't...
Can we fault him for that?
No, you can fault him at the end for it.
Why?
When he was just repping the West Coast
and California love and all that.
They got him out of jail.
Okay.
Help me, help me. Four million dollars, got him out of jail. Okay. Help me.
Help me.
Four million dollars.
Got him out.
I mean, none of us can get his brain
to psychologically evaluate him, you know?
I'm going to help you understand.
This is a record where Tupac has this shit.
There ain't nothing like the old school.
Yeah.
What more can I say?
I wouldn't be here today
if the old school didn't pave the way.
On that record,
the shit that Tupac said,
you cannot make this record if you ain'tupac said, you cannot make this record
if you ain't from New York.
You cannot make this record
if you're not from the East Coast.
The Skelly,
the Double Dutch,
the Ice Cream Man,
the Wu-Tang Clan,
all this shit that he named,
you cannot make this record.
I don't give a fuck.
You've been living in New York
for 10 years.
You can't make this record.
I don't give a fuck
how long you lived there
that means Pop was born and raised
his roots was there
this what makes him an ill motherfucker
you also
can't make California love
without the same
sentiments
you have to be from California
when he talking about
it wouldn't be LA without Mexicans and all this crazy shit you gotta really be from California. When he talk about the, it wouldn't be LA without Mexicans
and all this crazy shit.
You got to really be from California
to make both of those records.
So I would agree to disagree,
to agree to disagree on this level
and say he was a chameleon.
Can he be an artist?
Can my man be an artist?
No, artist is contradictory.
That's just one part of it.
A chameleon is somewhere
he just can blend into
anywhere he is.
I'll take that.
You understand what I'm saying?
Or he had roots
in these places, man.
I could go with that.
It's like I just said,
I'm born in L.A.,
raised in Miami.
I feel both places, you know?
Right, right.
And I would go with Nori
and you as well,
saying I think that
it was good for everybody
that he was a chameleon.
Yeah, he was. And I think it was good, like you said, a chameleon. Yeah, he was.
And I think it was good, like you said, being able to be.
Identify with both.
Both, right?
Because we just got to accept and appreciate what it is and say,
we glad he was born up East Coast, wherever he's on the East Coast for a while.
Yep.
Glad he's on West Coast.
Because you got to think about us, too.
We got love for both of them.
Both of them made us.
And both of them could appreciate us.
And I think with Pac, he should be celebrated, appreciated.
Like, guess what, even from the South,
if he ever visited the South,
he left an imprint on the South, you know what I'm saying?
And I guess, he shot the police in Atlanta.
I swear to God, I'm about to say the same thing.
The South wouldn't be the South without Pac.
He went with Leftyre.
Leftyre was his girlfriend.
He did?
Yes.
He did it all
in 26 years.
In 26 years.
So,
with that being said,
if you don't attach
Biggie to Tupac,
does Biggie still have
the same allure?
Why are you going
to go somewhere else?
You're going somewhere else.
You're going somewhere else.
You ain't going to do that.
You ain't going to do that.
And really quick,
I want to say,
I think we underestimate the idea that we, we're all older now. You're going somewhere else with it. You ain't got to do that. You ain't got to do that. And really quick, I want to say, I think we underestimate the idea that we're all older now.
Yeah.
But everything that Pac went through, he was a young man.
Yeah.
Like, we trying to put, like, an older mentality on this young kid that was doing all this stuff.
Like, come on.
But young kids don't do that these days.
Young kids don't do this these days.
And they don't do it 10 years ago.
No, no, he was doing a lot of mature shit.
Yeah.
But still being an immature person because of his age. They don't do it 20 years ago. He's doing a lot of mature shit, but still being an immature person because of his age.
They don't do it 20 years ago, though, just on that level.
I would say, and I'm glad
we're having a conversation because you just nailed it.
You,
and I tell people because a lot of young people listen to me
sometimes, a lot of old people listen to me sometimes, they don't want to,
but they... We listen to you.
No, no, but what I'm saying is... We listen to you, sir.
Come on, we all listen to you.
Come on, we all listen to you.
We all listen to you. What I'm saying is... We listen to you, sir. Come on, we all listen to you. I'm not talking about this guy. And he also is irrelevant, man.
What I'm saying is, Norris,
is that I was like a multimillionaire
like very young, right?
So, you know, so...
Fuck that shit.
But what I'm saying is
it kind of...
How you matured that.
So you got these young dudes.
I feel bad for them.
They good people, right?
They good dudes.
But what...
I mean, they got people 15
getting juvenile, like life, like
they do something right, boom, they out of here.
And we know 15, Lord, you was
messing, you was a fool, we all was a fool,
we don't know nothing, right? And so
I feel bad, and like he's
saying a valid point, to be
Pac was to be like
very immature and take on very
mature things
that was happening around him.
At a level that he was at
that was unseen in hip hop at that point.
What I'm asking is,
how can you...
How are you fucking this up?
I'm sorry.
No, but this is valuable.
This is valuable because
I want to say this because
they have a lot of Pacs out there
and they're rebels
with or without the cause, right?
So it can't be streets.
It can't be this.
It got to be a value.
But Pac was literally fighting
for the values of...
He kind of figured
something was going to happen to him,
but he's fighting for the values
of the next Noriega.
You know what I'm saying?
The next Silk, the next...
Like, because you got to think,
nobody's giving us them deals.
Nobody's helping us out
of the streets. If you somebody from the streets, where if you got to think, nobody's giving us them deals. Nobody's helping us out on the streets.
If you somebody from the streets, where if you got lucky, you didn't get gunned down.
You didn't get life in prison, like, you know, like whatever.
So what you're saying is more of how can we appreciate somebody having that much on their shoulder?
When 21 was around, he was already already wealthy trying to figure out jail
he got these rape cases
all these cases
I don't know true or false
but that's a lot for somebody
who is that big of an influence
to all of us
and I know because I was young
and people was depending on me
but I didn't know any better
I'm just throwing money
I'm buying cars the same color
I'm just buying houses
I'm just doing stuff but normally buying cars the same color. I'm just buying houses like I'm just doing stuff
But I normally saying color like yeah, like oh yeah, I bought two Ferraris the same color making model
Right for just no reason just like
But no I'm saying you could do it
if you know, if you, like, okay,
here's the thing about me.
This thing about me, how I was doing.
So you say I'm humble. I think I got a good heart.
I think I want to help people. I know you got a good heart.
Appreciate that.
Let me see your heart.
There you go.
But what I would do, Norrie,
the catch in you, I'm glad you brought this up once again.
The amount of pressure on somebody who's of my age to try to figure it out.
So when I wake up in the morning, I got five people at my door,
and we're going to the mall.
We went to the mall 10 days in a row.
That's when you all lived in a country club?
Yep, and that's what everybody got.
Chains, Rolexes, bracelets, right?
They knew to come to my house, and when I go to the mall,
I'm just getting everybody this.
Oh, you want a car?
Ask my friend, XL, whatever.
It's like I would leave cars
at the airport
for like seven months or whatever.
But it's not about that.
What it's about is
my ability to realize
I have everything
or I'm thinking I know everything
and don't know nothing.
But watch this here.
Your friendships are not your friendships
because it's based on money.
The girls could be your girls,
but based on money.
Of course, I'm a likable guy
and my friends really want to hang out with me,
but they also do want to hang out
and get an extra bag, right?
And what about Pac being somebody
who is the only person in his circle
that's getting a bag,
but having the responsibility of changing people's lives and they're not technically in the same mind state as him?
Because he's literally taking the beating for all of us at that time.
I remember clear as day.
And I'm like, damn, Pac, you're just taking these.
But I learned from it, though.
And I know that feeling because I'm telling you, it was a nonstop thing.
People know me.
No, I don't care about materialistic, no money.
I really care about doing it.
But at the time, I don't think people cared.
I think that it was, they liked me.
But also, I'm getting up to wake up to say, when Silk hit the mall, I'm getting something too.
So how do you balance the two?
And Pac saying to himself, I'm Pac, I'm fighting for y'all,
but are y'all fighting for me as well?
And I think the crazy part is that now in retrospect,
we look at clips, you know, they put out clips of Pac
that show a hypocrisy in him,
to show like he wasn't...
That's why when he said artists, I'm sorry,
I'm going to give it to him.
That's why he said artist.
I said artist is contradictory.
We're all contradictory.
Yeah, yeah.
But I think even more so,
like the great things he was doing
was so great that
to show these clips now
of him being his age
is not fair, you know,
because we're all looking at it
in this different scope
where he's not here today
to see what he would have evolved in.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
And with that being said,
right there,
like, I've seen reputable people,
people that are relevant,
say that,
you know,
Pop was a fake gangster
and da-da-da-da-da
and all this old dumb shit.
And there's things
that Pops was doing
that regular gangsters
would never fucking do.
He shot the fucking police.
He shot the police.
Well, he didn't know
there was the police
in retrospect,
but he did. But he stood up. up he saw somebody he saw somebody get fucked up
and defended somebody and how many of us would do that that's fine hey hey once again and even uh
even on the west coast he's inside some gangster shit he didn't have to kick the boy when they're
on the my type of fight he didn't have to do that there's plenty of niggas to kick the boy
he did that shit it's gangsters to be acting like they're in the fight that ain't have to do that. There's plenty of niggas to kick the boy. He did that shit.
It's gangsters acting like they're in the fight
that ain't in the fight,
that when they got caught on camera
running around and shit,
just, you know, faking the phone.
He didn't do that.
He was a big megastar at the time.
How can you fake being Tupac in 26 years
and this motherfucker's ain't did none of that real shit
and he was born into it?
It wasn't about publicity it wasn't about some media bliss none of that shit it was organic it was a he was so passionate how the
fuck can you say Tupac is fake hmm how everything he did was from his heart and he was alone.
Like even my old lady, she told me this story where she was in the building, inside Quad Studio, and he got shot.
The SWB was there. They were there.
And you know, when he comes down and he sees his boys that invited him him there invited him there and whatnot but then you
don't say nothing about you know who's what it got something to do with what and then he goes on
somewhere else and whatnot and then come on new york know everything and if you really my friend
if you remember tell me not true tell me not new york niggas tell me it's not true why yeah
big had nothing to do i ain't say you got nothing to do but tell me It's not true Why Yeah Tell me why
Big had nothing to do
I ain't say he got nothing to do
But tell me
That's what you're saying
Tell me
You know what I'm saying
Tell me
It's nothing to tell
After this happens
But this really
I don't think it's fair
For us to speculate
Yeah I wouldn't
I wouldn't
I mean I respect that opinion
But I wouldn't
I wouldn't debate any of that
I would just celebrate it
Well
Cause I don't know it
I'm not
I can't I can't determine what the story is like.
I don't want to hear what people say about it.
I stay neutral in it.
But I just respect the art form of a Biggie or a Pac.
I wouldn't really want to divulge into anything like that.
But I would just tell you that I don't think I've really met Biggie.
I met Big.
I never met Pac.
Yeah.
Me and you, the honors.
You're biased.
Yeah, I'm biased.
No, I'm not biased at all.
You're biased, New York nigga.
No, I'm...
That's even better than I'm a New York dude.
I'm fucking your shit up right now.
No, not at all.
I'm a long range.
I ain't in nobody gang.
None of that shit.
I ain't in no gang neither.
I'm neutral in the motherfucker.
You're neutral in the motherfucker.
But the question is, if you come to Atlanta
and something happens to you
and I'm your boy
and whatnot,
you trust that I know somebody
that knows somebody
that knows what happened, right?
No, I know you're not a street nigga,
so I'm not trusting you.
Oh, what?
You know what, nigga?
I got on a gun holster right now.
I'm packing.
With no gun.
With no gun, bro.
With no gun.
I don't want to have it.
Why do you have a gun holster?
I don't want to have it today
because I need to put my charger in here,
and my gun, and all that other shit.
But I'm saying, I'm saying.
Phone holster.
Nah, you out of line.
You're saying the shit that I'm saying.
Out of line.
Nah, you out of line.
I don't think you should bring up the question.
I wouldn't look at what you're doing.
But I see what you're doing.
I get it.
I see you looking.
What you looking at?
No, no, you out of line.
Me, personally, wherever I am.
This is what you old niggas be doing, B.
And this word is fun, yo.
It's not funny.
We just turned up the guard yesterday.
Why don't you edit this out?
Yeah, yeah, we don't mind.
Don't you edit it.
We don't mind.
We good.
We very secure over here.
Who you talking to?
Who are you talking to?
The camera, the camera.
I'm talking to Johnny.
Sonny D, B, T.
I'm talking to Johnny.
Don't even look at the camera.
But you're looking at Sonny D. Sonny D's like, I got you. I'm going to Johnny Public. Sonny D, B, T? I'm talking to Johnny Public. You're not even looking at the camera, but you're looking at Sonny D.
Sonny D's like, I got you.
I'm going to edit it like this.
Nah, um, yeah.
No, it'll be out.
It'll be out.
Nah, we good.
Nah, we good.
I got too much of nothing.
Nah, we good.
Nah, we good.
I'm going to go back to New York.
I ain't going to go wild now.
I told you.
I got longer.
I'm a comedian.
I'm a comedian.
I don't want none of that shit.
Hey, Puffy, I was just bullshitting. You know what I'm saying? Hey, it's a rock, baby. But you got to worry
about his 50 cents
seeing you drinking
that Rick Ross shit right now.
No,
no,
no,
no.
That's what you got to worry about.
Hey,
edit that shit out,
man.
We keep it all edited out.
Hey,
you said right with it
like it's yours.
I was thirsty.
He would have did it too.
Hey,
I think I'm big bitch.
Come on, man. I'm a cat drinker. I'm thirsty. I was thirsty. He would have did it too. Hey, I think I'm Big Meech. Come on, man.
Come on, Cal drink this.
I'm thirsty.
I was thirsty.
You know you want to go to Rick Ross' house too.
No, I don't.
I was there when it was Holyfield House.
I've been there before.
I don't need no more.
That's a little guy.
You said you went to it.
It's Holyfield.
Got a little bit more swag.
It's a big difference.
It's Ross.
You know you want to go to Ross' house. I was going to go.
I knew he was a part of it.
I was like, yo, they was having a good time with the bitches.
But I got a girl now, so I don't be fucking around like that.
With Ross, yeah.
It's a lot different from Hortifan, but shout out to Ross, though.
They invited me, too.
They invited you?
They invited me, but I was like, yeah.
It was this past week, right?
I had the disguise on.
I was dressed like an old man.
I did. We all blue.
I ain't have it.
Damn.
Shout out to Ross, though.
Shout out to Ross.
Shout out to our home team.
Shout out to what
y'all talking about.
But like, yeah, but it's...
So let's get now
to a serious note.
Like I said,
I did meet Steve Murda.
He actually did invite me
to the apartment.
Oh, the hood apartment.
And I thought he was playing around. Like, he was like... the apartment and I thought he was playing around
like he was like
totally serious
I thought he was playing around
until he actually
got locked up
and then they showed me
the footage
I was like oh shit
I was really gonna go there
yeah yeah yeah
like and
you know
uh
you know going to the hood
is nothing right
going to the hood is nothing
we can go to any project
we want to right
but when you go to the hood with another famous dude that really is set up in the hood. Yeah, that's like
Was that a problem for you and P because um like I mean this one thing to be attached to the hood
Living in the hood is something totally
Man, why do you do after you he has a mansion. Like, he clearly has a,
he clearly was on MTV Cribs,
on one Crib.
For sure, for sure.
And then had a whole other Crib.
Was that, like,
something you, Pete,
talked about?
Well, the thing about it is,
they, in our hood, whatever,
they love him, love him, love him.
Like, nothing would happen to him.
So he felt comfortable there?
He felt very comfortable, I think, but...
Did he spend the night there?
All the time.
He stayed there.
He had a waterbed.
I don't know about a waterbed.
Come on, man.
Now, listen, I used to go to New Orleans,
and we used to hang out with him.
He used to always tell me,
let's go to my apartment in the hood.
I thought he was playing, though.
No, seriously.
I did not know he was serious.
Real pressure.
Real pressure.
No doubt.
But, no, so what it is is that the whole hood loved him he
felt the love it was good to be a part of the love you know you feel that way sometimes you know you
go where you like like norris they celebrate and not tolerate it right and so um that's the way he
felt the most comfortable at the only problem is with the hood is that it's the hood and and
eventually it turns on you it turns on you it could be one turn that's the hood. And eventually... It turns on you? It turns on you.
It could be one turn.
That's all it takes is one turn.
And I think that
majority of people,
but you still got
up and coming dudes.
So I was more worried about that,
not worried about that he lived there,
just the turn of the circle.
So I mean like
50 people like you,
then 49 like you.
You know what I'm saying?
It only takes one to not like you.
That's it.
That's it.
So, you know, I feel like that was when I thought about him living there,
I thought about how the hood works where they never.
And he actually never got.
Sorry to cut you off.
No, I'm fine.
But he actually never got in trouble in there.
He got in trouble when he left the hood.
Pretty much, yeah.
No, he was comfortable there.
And I think that they would do anything for him
but I think it's just
why didn't they take a charge for him
like even in a documentary
even in a documentary
they got girls that were saying
what he's from us
he's with us
like and you just looking
and you just seeing the people
and you could tell like
you know I'm a hood dude
I'm a hood
like I brung EFN
to the hood
it was Bum B
it was Bum B yeah I brung Bum B to the hood so what I'm a hood dude I'm a real like I brung EFN to the hood it was Bum B it was Bum B
yeah I brung Bum B
to the hood
so what I'm trying to tell you
I'm a real person
from the hood
and then when I saw that
I was like
damn
he might be even realer than me
like you know what I'm saying
and that's good
that's good for me to say that
like cause
I'm like
when I seen how the people
was talking
because it's one thing for sure
two things for certain
OG had told me this one time
I kept coming to the
hood in the projects and parking on the
avenue. And when I would park on the
avenue, I knew no one would touch my car.
But an OG said to me, yo, man,
park on the outskirts
from now on. So, I said, what?
Two cars on the outskirts? No, park on
the outskirts. Don't park in
front of the hood because what happens is everyone
comes outside of the projects and they want
to show off for me. I'm the one that
made it. That's not a sucker that's still coming back
out. But as they're
coming out, as soon as I leave, they get in the
shootouts. Oh, damn. Because
I'm bringing them all out. I'm bringing them all
out. I'm not even knowing that.
You put a bunch of people together.
Because everyone from
every side got love from me.
Even the niggas that were shooting at me before,
I was shooting at them.
Like, now that they know I'm legit,
everyone's coming out or whatever.
And I didn't know what I was doing.
Right.
So, every time I left,
there would be some shit that happened.
So, I started to realize
I had to humble myself.
So, I would come,
I would bring my...
If I broke into two cars in my pocket,
you know, by the mall,
have a little motherfucker
come see me with his bike,
give him a motherfucking $50
or something like that
and I'm driving,
I'm walking through the hood
with the bike on
and it leveled me out.
Yeah.
But on C's shit,
C was like never left.
Like,
the closest thing I see
to C murder is Jungle.
I mentioned him earlier.
Jungle, yeah, Jungle.
Jungle from Nas brother.
Yeah, Nas brother.
QB.
Jungle damn near had an apartment in QB too.
Carter type shit.
Nah, he wasn't selling drugs.
No, I didn't say that.
You said it.
No, Carter means drugs.
I'm just saying you know.
You feel like Jungle has the love there too?
He had love in the hood too?
No, he had love.
No, Jungle, he's there.
He has love in the hood.
But not like I see murder.
Like, you know.
And you know what it was too?
I thought that
as much as it was kind of a bad idea
for him to be in the hood,
it was also a middle ground.
Because no one can never say
P, Silk, they too Hollywood.
Like it anchored them.
They still did.
What?
The main brother.
Those are the three.
You know what I'm saying?
That's why when y'all
benched it out
it did 504 Boys
which I want to get back into
for a little while later.
But that was the three main brothers.
I felt like P
after everyone left him
and P was like
I'm sticking with my brothers.
You know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying?
Same mother and fathers, right?
Mm-hmm.
So,
so what I'm saying
I thought that was the middle ground always. I thought that was the way that the hood Same mother and fathers, right? Mm-hmm. So, what I'm saying,
I thought that was the middle ground always.
I thought that was the way that the hood would never flip on y'all
because it's like,
C was there.
Like, C had us.
Like, they couldn't get at Silk.
They couldn't get at Pete.
But you could literally see
fucking C-Murder go and pick up his mail.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's funny.
That's real shit. Like, let's make some noise for C-Murder, man. C-Murda go and pick up his mail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's funny. That's real shit.
Let's make some noise for C-Murda, man.
C-Murda.
Hey, free C-Murda, man.
Free C-Murda.
And let me tell you something.
This is how you know he's a real dude.
Every time I see C-Murda,
all of us,
yo, what's up, what's up?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was never no gangster shit,
never none of this shit
that people describe.
Always a real respect.
When was the last time
you spoke to C-Murder?
I just talked to him
maybe
like four or five days ago.
Three or four days ago.
Yeah.
He was
he's working on his case stuff
so he's kind of like
been locked in.
But yeah, you know,
he has a number.
He calls all the time.
So, you know,
the J-Pay thing
is always working.
So yeah,
but we more for support.
Like, I just, like, the problem, I say, was more of that he's innocent, though.
So, I'm not saying he, I'm not saying, like, okay, yeah, he, you know.
Because they're using that old footage.
Leave it at innocent.
No, no, no.
I'm talking about, I'm talking about.
They're using old footage against them.
Yeah.
Meaning, it was other footage
of some incident
that happened
at a different club
and they're using that
against this footage
because...
Wow.
Because even the security guard
said that he was under pressure
when he said that
C-Murder did it.
Yeah.
So, yeah.
So, go ahead.
Well, no.
The crazy part is...
That's great.
I know the facts.
Listen, I know the facts. I got all the paperwork. Well, no, the crazy part is... That's crazy. I know the facts. Listen, I know the facts.
I got all the paperwork.
Like, and the crazy part is that he's really innocent of the crime.
Like, I'm saying, like...
Like, nope.
Yeah.
So, he's really innocent.
So, imagine that.
So, as a brother, it's more like...
It's one of the worst things when...
Because we're going to rep our brothers no matter what. Like, if your brother did something, you're like, oh, he did when, because we're going to rep
our brothers no matter what.
Like, if your brother did something,
you're like, oh, he did it,
but I'm going to see him
every month,
and I'm going to put money
on his books.
But it's probably
the worst feeling when
any innocence.
So, because me,
I'd be like, yo,
bro, you did this stuff,
you got to do the crime,
do the time.
But it's hard when,
so I never really stress
about anything.
And so,
I'm always trying to have a good time, you know, whatever.
I feel good about pretty much anything.
But then that part
of it is one of the,
it always drop you down a couple notches.
You could be partying in Jamaica having fun
and you're just like, we'll see you in jail.
And let me tell you,
so the crazy part,
that's why I hope you come home soon.
The crazy part is if you visit your brother and you leave to go home.
You see what I'm saying?
And he's back in the jungle.
So he's Angola or whatever he's at.
Leaving and somebody innocent like that is a mindfuck.
It's really a mind thing.
So I think that's almost like...
Because I lost my other brother too,
but he got killed, right?
So he got killed.
Kept, kept.
And that was like a boom.
I think I might have shed one tear
and I was like, okay, I'm out of here.
You know what I'm saying?
But I got it.
But that's when there's like a lingering thing.
So I just want to see him, you know,
just out of that.
What is it in Louisiana?
I think they say something you can't reverse the law once um you're convicted even like some shit like that
um what not even that i think it's like so when you think of louisiana um you think of like so
if you go to angle the prison they still on horses with shotguns yeah so it's it's it's it's the south
right still they wait wait say that again you go to visit and there's still horses with shotguns so it's it's the south right
wait wait
say that again
you go to visit
and they're still on horses
with shotguns
really
they had on everything
cowboy hats
yeah
and that prison
where he was at
that's the one
so it's like
and they still
working the field
like they work on the field
they building stuff
so with that prison
more is
it's a
it's really a workplace
so they trying to
keep the prisons packed
because they get the best work.
I mean,
I've seen some stuff.
They probably made this table.
They probably made this,
you know,
whatever.
And so that's the system for them.
And it's a way,
cause I was younger.
I used to realize like I had a guy,
you know,
he like little John,
whatever,
not the rap John,
little John,
but so,
so he,
he was like a good guy.
And next thing you know,
he's like,
yo,
he shot and killed a shot at a cop or whatever.
Right.
And I'm like,
this guy would never do that.
30 years.
He out of here.
And you know,
public spend,
he gone,
but straight to Angola.
Right.
So now he's a worker.
They don't want the workers.
That's like four years,
three years.
Got to train them too hard.
So it's a system for them.
I get it.
Um,
but, but it was doing it. They was doing it way back then. So it's a system for them. I get it. Wow. But they was doing it.
That's crazy.
They was doing it way back then.
And they was like,
but we was younger,
so we was like,
oh, not saying you,
let's say somebody.
Yeah, yeah, I get it.
Took them off the street,
he out of here,
mom, you know, crying, whatever.
30 years go by, boom.
Do it again, do it again.
And so to me,
that's the system that they in.
It's I feel bad for any parent
or anybody who,
because it's a lot of them
that's not doing it. Of course, there's guilty ones too. Right. But a lot of them not. And so that's the system that they in is I feel bad for any parent or anybody who like us a lot of them That's not doing it for something guilty one suit
Well, but a lot of not and so that was that's the only thing about it
It's like if he was guilty, I'd be like you got to do the time
We out of here, but and it's not like you guys don't have the resources for
Just crazy, you know
They system is too big. They won't break it because then that's going to break those systems.
But I think he is going to come on
and I think he is going
to break the system
because it's loosening up
now a little bit.
The people who...
Meaning what?
Who's at the top,
who's like those real strong ones.
They dying?
You know,
the ones like...
Now you're getting some people
in there who's like...
But back then,
it's just like,
boy, you ain't...
You probably got some
old school Jim Crow
motherfuckers in there.
But let's talk about how the Master P... Because Master P went and bought the projects though, right? Like, boy, you ain't supposed to, you know, that type of stuff. Probably got some old school Jim Crow motherfuckers in there.
But let's talk about how the Master P. Because Master P went and bought the projects, though, right?
Yeah, so it's not a money thing at all.
I don't want people to be like, oh, P could do this.
Yeah, why don't we own them real hard?
People are on them really hard.
Like, you're not helping your brother.
Like, when you gave up on your brother and whatnot.
Can you clear up from your mouth what's going on right now?
Okay, journalist Jack.
I mean, he kind of did.
He said that it's a system that is not trying to do it over.
That's right.
I mean, listen, everybody, we could all say we could do,
we could be money and want a quarterback and we all could do more.
I could do more, right?
I mean, but you really are going to have to fight.
Like, even Kim, like, she's trying to do it. Kim. Like, she's trying to do it.
Kardashian.
Yeah, she's trying to do it.
Like, they...
Yo, this ain't no bullshit.
She ain't...
This is behind the scenes.
She's close because...
Thank you, Kim.
You know, she's trying to...
We respect that, Kim Kardashian.
Yeah, yeah.
I heard that,
but that's great to hear from you.
Well, listen,
however you get out,
I just want to get out.
But, I mean,
you know,
she's taking a different angle
than we probably could take. She has, like, some stuff in her back pocket. But, yeah, you know, she's taking a different angle than we probably could take.
She has like some stuff in her back pocket.
But yeah, I wouldn't be hard on P in that situation because he's done a lot.
Of course, all of us can try to do more.
But also, you got to think, too, it's got to be done the correct way.
Because you got to think about this.
No, not even that part.
We could come hard, but he's still in jail, though.
So you know that the systems work together.
The police work with the-
Don't make it worse on him in there.
So I don't think he's worrying about that.
I just think that we just trying to find a happy medium.
We went hard on him, so hard, hard, hard.
And we was right there.
It was close.
And then last minute, they just,
they stuck to their guns
where we can't let y'all win is because the system we can't break the system because it's been this
way how long he's been in there right now 20 years a little less than 20 but yeah something like that
yeah something like that so it's nuts it's it's it's ridiculous and then when you watch the
the documentary and you see uh p's emotions inside of and how he's, I've been here the whole time.
I've been here the whole time.
Y'all don't know what it's like to be inside of this position
and being the head.
Like you said, he's the icon
in the situation. So it seems like he could just
wave a wand and this
shit should be eradicated because of his
status.
Like,
take the pressure off
your penis right now and tell us
what it is.
He said it twice already.
Listen,
I would say myself personally, I could say
just
money money quarterback, could I do stuff
differently? Can I do more?
You can, but at the same time
that's not his fight like that.
He's done a lot to really help him out.
The system is just really, it's a system that don't want to be broken right now.
Because if they break, they're going to have to break for all these other cases.
That's what it is.
That's what it is.
They know, okay, it could probably break.
It's going to break.
But they hold in tight because if this breaks, it's going to crack the whole system.
And, but his, it's going to break.
It always does.
I think a case like his is going to do it.
We just got to rally a little bit more and be ready to, because they softening up.
The system is turning around because I think right now he's in jail.
You know, the 10-2 rule.
So the 10-2 rule is it's got to be unanimous.
Everywhere in the world, it's anonymous, except New Orleans.
Except for New Orleans, meaning
the jury has to
all 12 of them have to vote.
But in New Orleans, it could be a 10.
Excuse me, in Louisiana.
The majority is 10.
So it could be 10, and it could be two people that
says no, and you're still
going to jail.
That's crazy.
It starts right here, right now, new jail. That's crazy. Free C. Murda.
It starts right here, right now, new campaign.
Let's go, drink champagne.
There it is.
Yeah, yeah, it's corruption going on.
Hey, and we won't stand for it no more.
We want, free my nigga.
Hey, is my camera right there?
It's right here.
Look at that camera right there.
Yeah, Free C. Murda.
I beat your asses.
If you ever wanna take a bathroom break,
now's the time.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm good.
I'm good.
I'm going to keep going.
I'm on a quarter tank right now, Pete.
I'm going to put my clear Nori glasses on.
Yeah, yeah.
Come on, come on.
Are you switching glasses?
No, no, no, no.
Hell no.
I'm going to keep my tie.
I don't, I don't, I don't.
We got to shout out the Organic Food Kings.
Oh, yes.
I just ate some of the guys' food.
Food looks incredible. We got the truck outside at Organic Food Kings. Oh, yes. I just ate some of the guys' food. It's incredible.
We got the truck outside at Organic Food Kings.
Make sure you check them out.
Yeah, that's right.
We're going to be eating them all the time right now.
So tell us what you're doing now.
You producing movies?
Yeah, I'm about to be having the movie stuff now.
Okay, so what made you do that?
I did it before.
I did the one with him.
I'm doing a...
Man, I had a part, like it was like,
you needed to pause, but then mother fucker.
It was pretty good, man.
Yeah, I was pretty good, like,
hey, don't go in there.
He ain't got, he got a little,
yeah, with me and Lil Duvall.
Lil Duvall was like, yo, you was great, nigga,
you gonna be the star of the mother fucking movie.
And nigga, da da da da.
He know how to build you up and make you feel okay.
You know, what I am is
so just exclusively
right now
I'm working on writing
like a no limit project
but I'm also
writing
so by the time
writing Hot Boys 2
so we doing it right now
so who am I going to be in it
I got some
it's going to be dope
it's going to be
kind of redirected
with the
new stuff that's happening now
but who am I going to be in it you're going to definitely be in it for sure the new stuff that's happening now. But who am I going to be in it?
You're going to definitely be in it for sure.
Yeah, but am I going to have...
I'm going to try to get...
I'm going to get Nori in it for sure.
I'm kidding.
But then you're just going to skip.
You see how that...
You're doing me like Mr. Lee.
I said I'm listening.
You're doing me like Mr. Lee.
Listen, listen.
I can't get a drink.
I can't get a drink.
No, I'm going to get you.
I'm going to get you in there for sure.
Can I get some lads and some fuckers?
You will.
Can I get some fucking in the movie?
I don't know about the fucking.
Give me some fucking in the movie, man.
I don't know about that. You know what I'm some fucking in the movie, man? I don't know about that part.
You know what I'm saying?
Come on, bro.
You expect me to fuck somebody that's not even real?
I've been working on my body.
I look good on camera now.
You'll see.
You'll see.
Are you fucking kidding?
Come on.
I've been there from day one.
I can't get you a part in the movie.
I can't guarantee you a fucking role.
I can't guarantee you that.
You can't get me an answer to your movie. I'm not asking you. fucking role. I can't guarantee you a role. You can't get me an AC.
Yo, movie.
I'm not asking you.
Yo, I'm managing you right now. Roy, you agree it has to make sense, right?
You don't want to buy just randomly stuff.
Like, what's the random?
I don't want to be.
I'm going to be a star, but I'll be the supporting fucking role.
We might not have a supporting.
Let's tell them the answer to this question.
I, Cameron, paid in full.
You know, was he the star in the movie?
No, not really.
But he became a star in the movie. Yo, paid in full. Nori, was he the star in the movie? No, not really, but he became a star in the movie.
Yo, paid in full.
Nori, was he the star in the movie?
Yes.
But can I get a memorable role in a motherfucker?
Yes, he was, Mr. Ma.
Can I get a role as big as Nori's was in this shit?
What's the role?
Which one?
Stay in private?
I want some shit like Nori had.
Paid in full, I got 12 seconds.
Yeah, I need the 12 seconds to fucking in something.
I can almost guarantee you 12 seconds. I just can't guarantee you 12 seconds. I had. I got 12 seconds. I need the 12 seconds to fucking in something. I can almost guarantee you 12 seconds.
I just can't guarantee you 12 seconds.
I know you can guarantee me 12 seconds.
I didn't fuck it up.
Give me something monumental.
One nigga was Noah's Jack.
Nori negotiated 12 seconds for you.
12 seconds.
I got you 12 seconds.
Give me 12 seconds.
That's what I want to get to.
Shout out to 12 seconds.
Oh my God.
Shout out to 12 seconds.
So what's your favorite era of No Limit?
I usually ask people what's their favorite era of music,
but I just want to say your favorite era of No Limit,
like yours personally.
I would say Snoop coming to No Limit.
When Snoop came to No Limit.
Yeah, it was because we watched them,
but I'm sure you probably know Snoop.
Yeah, of course.
So Snoop is like the ultimate loyal,
like cool, really somebody who like,
it's always the same.
Like if he rock with you,
he rock with you.
If he doesn't, he's like whatever.
But me and him, we had a bond
because he would stand by my house.
He would come over.
He would like, we would chop it up.
We would go to places
and he was just consistently,
we did a lot of music together
but we just was more like um
i've really rarely seen people that um embraced it um bought into it and then would listen like
he would like tell you stuff but he would also listen and still would remain humble but also
even to this day it's like what's up nephew it's like you know it's that and what's up, nephew? It's like, you know, what's up, Uncle?
And it's like that still thing.
And he never really changed up.
I thought that was.
And he was a superstar, too.
And it was good that it was good because we was good.
But to help him get back to where he wanted to be at, because when he came to us, I wouldn't say he was still Snoop, but he was just questioning Snoop.
And as an artist, you know and that and as an artist you know
you'll question how
good like I never really questioned
like my talent but
if somebody's saying oh you off beat
you know what I'm saying like I'm selling millions of records people love me they're going crazy
when I come in but so he
got it back to watch him get it back
he was walking at first he was like
trying to figure it out then he was smiling running around
Bad Ruins like drop top car yeah he was walking at first he was like trying to figure it out then he was smiling running around Bad Ruins like
drop top car
in the country club
yeah he was chilling man
he got his house there
he was coming out
with his slippers
like I'm watching it
he don't know it
but I'm watching it
and I'm like wow
cause when he first got there
you could see the
he wasn't that confident
he was like
I don't know if I'm Snoop Dogg
you know like
he knew it
but by the time
he got in that studio
and making like I think he made after my you know what I'm Snoop Dogg You know like he knew it But he was But by the time he got In that studio And making like
I think he made
After my
You know what I'm saying
He was like
He got it back
He was walking around
I think that's when
He was ready to say
I gotta go back home
You know what I'm saying
To the West Coast
That's crazy
And step into that
My faith
And it was dope
To watch him
Kinda
Feel with his chest out
Like yep
I'm going back
And take over
You know the West Coast
It was dope
Was you there that night The death row Try to jump on I was I was yeah, I was there
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but you see from your vision. Um, so Snoop being a person he was we had a whole bunch of people
Watching him and he was watching everybody right and then Snoop was like
He'll probably say I'm just going to the bathroom by myself
You know, he's not really fearful like that
so he's more like,
so he went off with like one,
maybe one person or somebody like that.
And I didn't see that would happen.
I did see him walk off,
but it's typical Snoop.
He's like, I'm just going to do what I want to do.
Go and chop it up some of my friends, whatever.
As soon as he did it,
one thing I heard like about a couple seconds later was all of us just running,
like just running towards where we think that Snoop is at. And that was like it. And then later was all of us just running like just running towards where
we think that snoop is at and that was like it and then it just kind of like this um big old melee
you know we everybody everybody ready you know whatever blah blah blah um and that was it it
was just then it kind of settled down at that point yeah like um we had p on here p told us
about this famous phone call a master Master P called, excuse me,
a Shug called him.
A Shug called him. And Shug
saying, yo, man, LA ain't big enough for
both of us.
And Master P saying, so when you moving?
I heard that story.
Yeah, I heard that story.
We all heard the
rumors of Death Row
Yeah
When you hear this
That your brother
Is saying
Man I ain't going nowhere
Mm-hmm
What is your thoughts
Running through your mind
Are you thinking
Industry shit
Or are you thinking like
Maybe this is the time
Let's relax
I mean
Like I'm not really familiar
With the Suge part of it
So I won't even comment
On that part
So you didn't know
Who Suge was
Well I knew of him I know your own Tell that story Yeah I knew on your own But I'm hanging Van familiar with the Shug part of it, so I won't even comment on that part. So you didn't know who Shug was? Well, I knew of him.
I knew his own story.
Yeah, I knew only his own.
But I'm hanging with another ice over the shit.
I heard it.
But I'd be so, listen, I'd be so.
In his own shit?
Own zone, whatever.
But I'm with, you know, I'm with all that.
But at the same time, I heard the stuff.
But I also could believe the conversation happened.
I wasn't there when the conversation happened.
They protected you from a lot of that shit, right?
No, no, I was in the mix of everything.
They keep calling you Richie Rich.
No, no, actually, the funny thing about it is,
and this is all due to, you know,
blessed on that part,
I was probably the wildest one coming up.
And I was in all the stuff.
I was with, I think we had,
like, even if you're on the video,
I was in the barrier with the fight. I was I made the lie up I was like yeah dude stepped on
my foot he didn't step on my foot the whole club we fight in the club whatever so you know I was
with all that dumb stuff um so no and I was I was at every meeting the UGK stuff I knew of it
if I wasn't there it's like I'm a phone call away. So the crazy
part, I was with whatever we was with.
The room was like P caught
on pimp in a
room.
I wasn't aware of that part.
But that's just rumor stuff like that.
Pimp and I think P is good.
They both admitted to it.
It's online. You can pick it up.
I can see that.
Some of that stuff, Oh, they did? Yeah, they did. Oh, they did? Okay. I can see that. It's online. You can pick it up. Okay, I can see that. I can see that.
But, you know, some of that stuff, I just,
it called me when it's all the way up,
or, you know, we got a problem,
it's an issue, stuff like that.
So, with the, what did I say?
No, no, no.
Oh, with that part of it,
I know that probably happened,
because I could see, but that's typical.
What about the children, Pastor Pete?
That probably could happen.
I heard of it. That probably could happen, for sure. I could see that. Except getting a lot of much children, Pastor Pete, what? That probably could happen. I heard of it.
That probably could happen for sure.
I could see that.
Except get a lot of niggas.
How about the Pastor Troy shit?
Because I had listened to this record
for damn near two years,
and I had no idea
that that was a diss record towards...
Which one?
We Ready.
No, no, play it in G.A.
No, no, fuck what you say.
Ain't no more playing in G.A.
I said, what's up? Big mouth, big talk, big game. No, no, fuck what you say. Ain't no more playing NGA. I said, what's up?
Big mouth, big talk, big game.
Oh, wow.
Pastor Troy.
Okay.
I'm from Georgia.
Pastor Troy.
We get that.
Pastor Troy coming soon.
Drink champagne.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Coming soon.
Yeah.
But I had watched this man come perform
two or three, four, five, six, seven times.
And I had not known
Because because I think the intro of the record is actually the disc right or the video or whatever I had not done
It's Peter. Yeah, it's Peter. Yeah. Yeah, there's rapping for tech. Yeah
Oh, yeah
With this Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That's on the phone too. I thought you were with the script. That's how it went.
They just passed the trial.
Okay.
And tell them since they think they soldiers,
we ready for war.
I never really heard that.
Damn, you so rich, man.
God damn it.
You ain't gonna follow what you say.
Ain't no more playing, G.A.
Yo, yo.
I never heard that before.
I managed to pass the trial too.
Never, never, never. That's crazy. But I know that I heard that before. I'm in this past Detroit, too. Never, never heard of it.
That's crazy.
But I know that I heard the story.
Yeah.
Like I said, I'd be mad listening.
Me, I'm like my, I had to control my, you know, I had a low temper back then.
So I tried not to, because they'll have to tell me to calm down type of thing.
So I just try to, when it's up, it's like, it's up.
He shot me before.
I would have definitely shot you before.
He definitely would have shot you. I'm going to get you stuck up.
In a pinky toe.
And then he shot me.
In a pinky toe.
I'm going to get you stuck up.
No, Megan Thee Stallion.
Yeah.
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm Megan.
You tore up.
No, don't put me in that.
Don't do that.
He said, oh, baby, you tore me.
Oh, my God.
This is going.
What's up?
Big mouth.
Big talk.
Big game.
No, I can't believe you ain't know.
You ain't know.
I heard the story, but I never listened to music.
White folks.
This nigga rich.
Rich.
Rich.
Rich.
Rich.
Tech game.
Tech game.
We'll get to that later.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Tech game.
What's that?
You on your chameleon there?
Yeah, he on his chameleon there. I talked to him before. He's dope people. Dope game. What's that? You on your chameleon air shit, right? Yeah, he on his chameleon air.
Yeah, he on his chameleon air.
I talked to him before.
So he's dope people.
Dope people.
You on it?
You on it?
Yeah.
So you got an emoji like this.
What you doing?
What?
You got an emoji.
What I've done is, and that's probably like why I want to show people because, and I'm
going to send this to you.
I have this book I had wrote too, but it's a music book.
So I'm going to send this to all y'all for sure.
Yeah, please.
I didn't bring none, huh?
And the silk wine, too.
We're going to talk about it later.
Silk wine.
I grabbed silk wine.
But no, I'm in the tech world,
but I also found it's a balance, too,
of telling people you're in the tech world
and really being in the tech world, right?
So it's some stuff that I'm part of
that you probably use,
but I probably never tell you that.
I think because sometimes, some stuff is good. He's on a piece of Twitter. No, that's probably, I never tell you that. I think because sometimes, some stuff is good like,
He own a piece of Twitter.
Now that's why I don't own that,
but I own something that's great.
Pornhub?
Hm?
Pornhub.
No, I do not.
Instagram?
Instagram?
No, no, bro, no.
You want Uber?
Uber?
Uber?
That's this nigga.
No, I want something that's cool,
that's dope like that.
How do you get into these things, though?
Because I'm hearing people get it.
Is it through hedge funds?
Is it through, like...
White people.
I got friends that are...
Definitely.
I got...
Because regular people don't understand how motherfuckers get into this shit.
I got something for you, bro.
Oh, I got something.
Please.
Oh, Nori.
Please.
Put me on.
I got something for you.
Bro.
Okay.
No, let me tell you.
Okay.
I got to call my boy.
I got to call my boy at some point.
Okay.
Listen.
Please.
Nori, call your boy. I got something for you. Put him on. Put him on. You got to call my boy. I got to call my boy at some point. Okay. Listen. Please, please call your boy.
I got something for you.
Put him on.
Put him on.
You got to call him.
Okay, cool.
I got something for you, my bro.
You're going to be like,
Shaq, I owe you.
Yeah, I want that.
Put me on when he tells you.
I got both of y'all.
No, I actually got both of y'all
and this is going to make
so much sense for you.
What is that?
The book?
Okay.
Oh, you got the book.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
He got the tape.
Paved? Yep, that's it. Yeah. He got the tape. Paved?
Yep, that's it.
It's a,
it's successful in the music business.
So everything you need to know
about publishing,
writing, whatever.
What year did you put this up?
Like two years,
a year and a half ago.
Oh, so it's pretty recent.
So it's up to date.
It's really good.
So make some noise for Paved.
Got that?
Yep.
Come on.
Paid in full for real, baby.
Paid in full.
It's paved.
But Nori, I'm glad.
Yeah, please.
I want to be in some tech shit. Oh, man. I want to go to Silicon Valley. You're going to love it, bro. Paid in full. It's paid. But Nori, I'm glad. Yeah, please. I want to be in some tech shit.
Oh, man.
I want to go to Silicon Valley.
You're going to love it, bro.
Oh, my God.
Oh, you done been to Silicon Valley plenty of times.
Before he was married, let me tell you something.
Nigga used to get more quizzes than a temp hunt.
You stupid.
Hey, but that ain't, this is myself right now.
Are you in the crypto space too?
No, he ain't in no games.
I'm not.
That's surprising.
But I want to get into some stuff that I don't know about.
I try not to do it until I know it.
NFT stuff?
I just got my first one done.
Shout out to my boy Trev.
NFT?
Yeah.
You know, Frenchie.
My bad, but Frenchie.
Mike Tyson?
Yeah, he's got something going on.
He's involving all of us.
Okay, cool.
So you sold your first one or you bought it? not yet. We did it. We do it right now
Yeah, we about to put it out together now
one second
but
So that's some stuff
That's some stuff that
Because some of the stuff you doing like you do you could own for you be like, oh, that's what I'm doing
Like I know knives do a lot of it, right?
Some stuff knives do that you never know knives do it blows up right whatever
But I found out sometimes you keep some stuff separate cuz let's say if I got a clothing line
Yeah, I have a clothing line. That's that every artist, you know comes into LA and buy it at my shop, right?
Right slam you don't know because I don't want you know
I own it but I own it and I I could pull up 100 rappers that has their word.
If I tell them that I own it...
It'll change it.
They'd be like, I ain't with them, Suga, Chocolat.
You know what I'm saying?
They identify with you.
I don't know why.
But if you like...
That's actually what it is.
I want to know about the shit that you got on now.
Well, this is Da Vinci.
That's Da Vinci.
Yeah, I don't know about Da Vinci.
Bullshit.
It wouldn't even be something personal with you.
It's just identifying with a person. Yeah, yeah. Givenchy? I don't know how to spell it. Yeah, Da don't have a Givenchy. Bullshit. It wouldn't even be something personal with you. It's just identifying with a person.
Givenchy?
I don't know how to spell it.
Yeah, Givenchy.
Givenchy.
It was just, yeah, I just got it.
Put it together.
I don't get it.
You don't get it?
I don't get it.
I never could get it.
Why you got it?
It just felt good on my skin.
I should have worn a gun.
A gun holster without a gun?
A gun holster.
I got Johnny here.
What Johnny?
Now, I do have one brand that I identify myself with.
I've seen you guys some.
Put us on.
What's it?
Put us on.
What's the brand?
Yeah, yeah.
It's called Chasing Billions.
So that's the one I do.
But that one is, you know, people, I put it, it's mine.
But it does well anyway.
But the other one, every person from Wu-Tang to Lil Baby and Su-Train has wore it.
Wow.
Yeah, but because it's aTrain has wore it. Wow.
Yeah, but because it's a kind of thing where it's pieces,
so they love it.
They spend $500 on it, $3,000 on it.
Wow.
Yeah, for real.
You and your Fonz boys, you got to relax, all right?
You arguing with him?
Yeah, because the nigga was not there for me. I thought I was trying to show y'all he had my back and I ain't need
no guns.
This nigga's like the transporter.
He got the guns?
He got the guns.
Let's see.
Man, no, you don't do it.
No, no, don't do it.
Because we went to jail.
Both of us went last time.
You guys went together?
Hey, man, Mr. Lee, I would.
Yo, the bottle boy, this nigga here, he even had, he got it out for you, dog.
Yeah.
Hey, Suge Knight called me before.
Suge Knight called you?
He called me.
Did he for real?
No, that's 100%.
It's documented and everything.
No jokes, no jokes.
I swear to God.
So what he say?
What do you mean it's documented, though?
You recorded it?
I talked about it before.
Oh, okay, okay.
That don't mean it's documented.
Yeah.
But it's 100% true.
What happened with you and Suge? I've been in before. Oh, okay, okay. That don't mean it's documented. Yeah. But it's 100% true.
What happened when you were in the show?
All right, so you remember when Tupac's bodyguard,
Frank Alexander.
Yeah.
The guy with the light-skinned dude with curly hair.
Yes, I was the last interview.
Mm.
Yes, 100%.
Oh, because he got murdered, right?
He had got murdered two weeks after our interview.
On This is 50?
On This is 50, yes.
And, yo, a finisher called me.
All these fucking, it was a little boy that used to hang out with Tupac all the time.
They would bring along, like, on some goddamn Emanuel Lewis shit with Michael Jackson.
That's weird.
You know, Tupac was 20.
He was young. But anyway, he called me, and he was like, this was when it was in talks of, what's the movie?
Straight Outta Compton was coming out.
Before the altercation.
Before he goes to jail about this shit.
Right, right, right.
He finds out how he's being depicted inside of the movie.
Who?
Suh.
Suh.
So he hit me up up and he was like,
hey, what's up?
Is this Jack Thriller?
I said, yeah, what's up, who this?
He said, it's Suge.
I said, Suge who?
He said, nigga, the only Suge.
I said, Suge, no.
Get the fuck out of here.
What's up, boy?
He said, what's up?
He said, I'm trying to see you.
I'm like, what?
Trying to see me.
He said, I can't see you. Yeah, what's up? He said, I'm trying to see you. I'm like, what? Trying to see me? He said, I can't see you.
Yeah, where you at?
And he said, I'm in L.A.
Oh, I'm in New York.
Oh, shit.
And now I'm balled up in the corner.
And he was like, hey, I need to talk to 50.
I said, about what?
And he was like, hey, I want to talk to you about the death row movie.
I want to do a Death Row movie and whatnot.
And, you know, I know he gets shit going.
He wanted to do a counter movie?
Yeah, he wanted to do a counter movie.
Right.
Yeah.
And so I said, hey, I'll make it happen for you, but I need something from you, too.
I need you to give me a shout out.
This is all the way Jack Miller.
Yeah, I mean, I wanted some bullshit.
I asked him for no money, nothing,
because I didn't understand the business and what this called me.
I asked him for a shout-out for my show, Cypher show, 16 of Ella.
You got a drop from that?
He wouldn't do it until I got him on the phone with 50.
So I went to the office the next day to see 50,
and I said, hey, 50, guess who called me last night?
They did not believe you.
They didn't even talk to you.
They didn't believe you.
No, he believed me.
50 believed everything I said.
Okay, okay.
He said, I said, should Knight want to holler?
He said, who?
Nigga, fuck no.
They walked off on me.
And I was like, oh shit, I don't think 50 likes shit tonight.
And so.
So we're telling 50 secrets now that you work with Rick Ross.
Wow.
You don't get to fuck up.
And I was thirsty.
I was thirsty.
Don't be giving 50 up now.
No, no, no.
Fuck that.
I can't allow it.
I can't allow it.
50 fuck with who he fuck with. And he don't fuck with who he fuck with
and he don't fuck with
who he fuck with.
So he definitely not
fucking with you right now.
Yeah, 100%.
I think I'm being mean.
You better put a gun
in that hole.
But anyway,
so the story carries on.
Damn, I'm confused.
I don't know what to do.
Did Shook call you back?
He called me back. Oh my God. And I was like, hey man, what's do the shit call you back he called me back
oh my god
and I was like
hey man
what's up
why you say
hey you talk to 50 yet
I was like
he ain't been in
all the happenings
yeah yeah
black can't
yo let me get that drop
he's like man
tell the nigga
I need to holler at him
you know what I'm saying
real soon
like it's
ASAP
it's one
I need to do it right now.
And I'm going to do your drop, whatever the fuck you want to do.
And I went back and I tried again.
And I went to Renee this time.
And Renee was like, hey, Jack.
That's Renee McClain?
No.
No.
Go.
Uh-uh.
Because there's a whole other story to go with this shit with Hookie back in the day.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, you know the story.
Oh, okay, cool.
Somewhere.
Somewhere.
All right, cool.
All right.
We got a couple minutes left.
Come on.
Yeah, so he's...
Let's get to the story.
So...
They kidnapped Hookie too?
Some shit like that.
Okay.
That's what happened.
What happened?
He kidnapped Hookie.
Who, Shug? Shug? Yes! Yeah. You know, punting him, kidnapped him. Yeah, like what? That's what happened. What happened? He kidnapped Hookie. Who, Suge?
Suge?
Yes!
Yeah.
You know, punting him, kidnapped him.
Yeah, yeah, this is a kidnap game.
He just kidnapped.
He survived.
He's a kidnap game?
Five kidnappings.
Five whole kidnappings.
This is way better than most kidnappings.
Yeah, way better.
Like with killer, killer, killers.
Killer cams.
So anyway.
The nigga, I tell him that I'm going to do this shit.
And you guess.
And a blessing come out of the skies and shit.
Because I don't know what to tell you next.
Then he go to jail.
I'm like, oh, shit.
That's not a blessing.
For me.
For me.
For me. For me. For me. For me.
Because now I've got my explanation for this.
And then she hit a nigga at the movie.
He's still a blessing.
He came out the school.
So it released me.
It released me.
It's about him.
It's about me.
At this particular point.
Okay.
And so then straight out of the company.
And it's a great movie.
It's a great movie. It's a great movie.
It's a great movie.
And I say that,
it go right into
the Dirty South,
you know what I'm saying,
the story of Goody Mob
playing Cee-Lo.
Man, Cee-Lo
used to rob niggas
all the time
and blah, blah, blah.
And when he got famous,
you know what I'm saying,
niggas used to come up to him
like, hey, you robbed me before.
And now it's going to be
one of the greatest movies
that you'll ever see that was on some gangster shit, music, you robbed me before. And now it's going to be one of the greatest movies that you'll ever see
that was on some gangster shit, music, all that,
in comparison to a fucking straight out of Compton.
That's why I was going with that.
And I got a new show.
It's called The Pull-Up.
The Pull-Up.
Let's be clear.
Tack Stone had a show called The Pull-Up.
Who?
Tack Stone.
Who?
Tack Stone.
That's not true.
Had a show called The Pull-Up. So did Joe Buttons had a show called The Pull Up. I just want to be clear. Well, they don't got it now.
And Mr. Lee had a show called The Pull Up. Someone else that has a show called The Pull Up.
Oh, no. Hey, listen. You can't pull up unless you're in Atlanta. You can easily differentiate
yourself by saying, pull up on me. Pull up on me.
All right, we'll put that on me on there.
We'll put that on me on there.
I got a new show called Pull Up On Me.
On me, with an M-A.
On me, on your young M-A.
Young M-A.
Young M-A.
And I was not the nigga that got young M-A pregnant either.
What?
We was playing spin the bottle one night.
It was me, a couple of the students and she's
Control
She came on me and I was like, hey, what's up? She was like, hey you want to no niggas with it, did you? As long as you ain't fucking no niggas with it, I'll do it.
What are you talking about, bro?
I got a new show.
It's called The Pull Up On Me.
Where my girl Mimi and Shante, they're publicists.
The biggest publicists. Wait, hold on.
Time out.
In Atlanta.
Time out.
So you put your girl on the show?
Huh?
You put your girl on the show?
She's going to pull up and whatnot and talk about everything.
She's not on the show? She don't pull up and whatnot and talk about her show. She's not on the show?
Listen, we...
Didn't you have a bad mistake when you was working with your
trainer? A bad mistake?
You was working with your trainer.
No, I don't...
I champion my girl shows.
I champion my girl shows,
but I'm not on the show.
Yeah, I'm producing her show.
So she can do what she wants to do
on her show. I'm on the back end. I'm producing her show So she can do what she wants to do On her show
I'm on the back end
I'm supporting
I'm supporting
But I got the pull-up show, it's with Shantae and Mimi
And they're both publicists
We can get anybody in the world
On that motherfucker, that's why I did it this way
We gotta stay so you can come from the interview
Go write and perform
On that shit
I need y'all on the show This way we got to stay so you can come from the interview go right and perform on this shit nor it
EFN I need y'all on the show. No say help me get us in Atlanta and whatnot and it's gonna change the game
You know all excess
Granite you remember that show when we did shooting music videos and it showed the making of it and all that we doing it
We bring in 16 a better back. It comes with a new name is called keep my name in your mouth
Cypher It comes with a new name is called keep my name in your mouth
100% is going down. Hey, I also
Every Sunday every Sunday King of diamonds, it's a branch. I got a live band with my
Reckless eyeballing for as long as it's going down in the major way
Moving and grooving and dancing to this music in this room.
Come on now.
Yo, y'all give it up for me.
Y'all give it up for me.
I done came up.
I done came up like I used to get you, y'all.
I done came up.
Come on, clap for me.
Hey, John, you with me, nigga.
You gon' clap for me.
What the fuck wrong with you?
So this is your publicist, man.
Yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, listen, listen.
I got to build infrastructure for my dog.
And I managed to shoot the shot here.
If you need any bookings, any features,
niggas to rap on beat or off beat,
you got that shit over here.
Come over here to Big Dick Entertainment.
Big Dick Entertainment, y'all, come on.
Okay, okay.
Come on, we spoon feeding everybody.
Let's go. So what's next for Silk?
So we got a new project coming out called Vito.
That's this album.
Oh, wow.
So you know how I used to be.
I was like, everybody's calling me Vito.
So we doing that right now.
Why do they do that?
We almost dope, huh?
Why do they do that?
I don't know.
Everybody used to call me that.
But the actual Vito stands for something.
Now y'all stay tuned to that.
And then we doing a movie.
So we just did a sitcom.
So I sold one sitcom, and I was actually cast in a sitcom that did like eight episodes.
So that was cool.
That was dope.
Then you acted.
That was cool.
Acting, yeah.
That's coming out.
This is what I do.
It's coming out.
Okay.
Coming out.
I can do it for you, too.
Full press.
So that's it.
And like I said, the tech world stuff is dope.
But movies, I'm about to get into that 100 that's gonna be dope producing or uh producing directing
um the last two i'm writing uh but actually i wrote the first one right we were 100 yep but um
yeah i'm really good at the right one good line remember what people come up to me this day and say, hey, come on in.
You can come on in.
Yeah, I am going to come on in.
That's terrible, man.
That's your man, Z.
But no, I'm so good at the, so I'm not being humble no more.
Take this from Nori.
Nori told me to do this.
We're no longer being humble.
But no, I'm really super good at the writing the script.
I'm not good at typing it, but I'm so good at the actual screenplay.
Conceptualizing it.
I'm so good at it.
But I mean, even with the music stuff, that's kind of how I was.
I rarely wrote, but just had everything in my head.
You can't say that.
Because when you say you rarely wrote, people want to take it like people wrote for you.
So you got to say you really wrote, you freestyled.
I freestyled. You got to say that because these fans would take that little part and be like, oh, shit, Toji Master P wrote his own shit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Cain and Abel wrote his own shit.
Fiend wrote everything.
You know what I'm saying?
That's funny.
So shout out to my boy Fiend.
And when you say movie stuff,
because you guys were doing movies already,
so you're diving into, like,
the legit Hollywood side of it.
Man, I got one.
This one's big.
Like, is this going to be big?
Because, you know,
I'm going to talk to y'all off the air about it,
but it's a...
We don't want to let it go.
Yeah, so we got some of them
that we're just doing ourselves,
but then I got lucky and did this one.
I'm not paying for it at all, but somebody, they bought it from me,
like a big company bought it from me, and it's an 80, almost $90 million movie.
Wow.
Yeah, but I could write them like that.
I'm actually better at those, so I'm trying to,
I could do the ones we do all the time.
That's easy for me, but I'm really good at the big
concept. We talk about
the air body. We're talking about Fast and Furious 11
right now. Pretty good.
Don't give it away here.
It's really good. I like this show but
yeah. Yeah it's really good.
You'll be like oh you did that because
you guys appreciate the
like coming from where
we came from to do stuff like this.
And those things are easier for me to do, honestly.
Right.
To make like, I have one movie.
I'm sure at some point it'll get picked up.
It's like $300 million.
But if you check it out.
Yeah, it's 300 to part three.
And you would be like, oh, why didn't nobody pick it up?
But I ain't having nobody read it yet.
But two people.
Because they couldn't read it.
And one person is actually may do it.
We'll talk about it.
When you say person, are you talking about like diving into the whole Hollywood ecosystem?
Because I'm saying because you guys were making movies.
So the outside of you guys are already successful doing indie movies.
Yeah.
So what's the difference now?
Like, are you tapped in now to this,
what other people,
this Hollywood ecosystem
that's millions and billions
of dollars that people
give up for movies?
So let me give you an example.
The actual crazy part is
I didn't realize
I'm going to give you
a little game.
The bigger movies, Lord,
it's easy to get done
than the smaller movies.
Like, think about this.
Because they see bigger profits.
Okay, so if you rich,
you don't care about money.
But if I try to go get
$200,000 from some of my friends,
they go,
I mean, not friends,
but some people that I know
that don't have it,
it's going to be,
it doesn't matter,
it's going to be like
taking water from this thing.
They don't have it to give.
They might want to do it,
but they might say,
oh, I'll give you five, but you got to think about somebody up sitting on a hundred million dollars
It's again
It's a it's a gamble that you don't make good money off if they don't make it
But if they make it as a tech, yeah, they don't tax write-off. Yeah, if they do is a good is a good investment
And watch this here you gonna have to worry about
Taking the money from the guy who only got twenty thousand hundred thousand, $100,000. So he's going to be on you.
Like, okay, whatever.
As opposed of somebody, they just sitting around, they got it.
So what I learned to do is balance, too.
I love doing the movies that we've done.
You know, I love those.
But then I also kind of broadened the horizon on it.
It was like, oh, take those concepts.
Like, have a concept.
If it's good, you know, actors are going to want to do it.
And I found out that's kind of like my niche, you know what I'm saying,
where I'm like, I think like that.
You'll see some of the movies.
It's crazy.
They dope.
They crazy.
How do you get into that world of those people that invest like that?
I'm around some of them.
Everybody knows that I make dollars and cents, right?
So what I do really good, honestly, I do marketing good.
So if you go no limit, it's marketing structures to everything.
That's why I was telling you earlier where you always be okay because the person who
can sell stuff is going to win all the time. You can have this good
beer, but is anybody going to sell it? You can have a Kevin Hart movie, but if nobody hears about it,
it won't do good. If you could put your post, that's why the movie that we did
is funny. It's got fun. The movie we did,
I sold it to Lionsgate, right?
So I paid for it
and I sold it to Lionsgate, right?
And Lionsgate was like,
now they bought the movie
because I said-
How much they bought it for?
I'm not telling you what they bought it for.
You ought to stay in the same room.
I remember that yesterday,
like we had to stay
in the same fucking room.
But the funny part is,
no use of lies,
let's go through that.
We told your ass about it
You took care
I take care of y'all
What does take care mean?
No I take care of y'all
Is it drink take care?
It ain't drink
Dude let's just think about it
I took a chance on all y'all
And nobody cared about y'all in Hollywood
Tell the truth
Him and Lil Duval
And Michael Black
They said to me
They said
What is this guy in the movie?
All I want to say is that they don't really care.
They don't.
So they was like, this shouldn't be in the movie.
We're not going to buy this.
Right.
But here's how crazy it is.
I know that Michael Blackson is like, was a star in the make.
I knew little Duvall was super good.
He's still working on it.
My boy is good.
He's good.
He's good people.
And he's good.
He let me manage him.
He let me manage him. He let me manage him.
He let me manage him.
Get out there, man.
Come on, give me the hand.
So, what they did.
But even with the Lionsgate stuff,
they sit down with me.
We had a meeting.
You sold it outright?
No, I still own it.
But they sit down with me, whatever.
They didn't really want to buy the movie.
Oh, no.
What's the deal?
I got to get it back in five years or whatever.
So what they did was they,
I sit down with them.
Now, shout out to Lionsgate for sure,
but they don't really know.
They have a lot of urban movies
and they just throw it at the fence
and be like, here you go, 10 million.
And they don't, like, shout out to Lionsgate,
but they didn't even know what Worldstar was, type of you know I'm saying like but they selling to you know to our
community but not to say they they dope in the business part but how do you they trying to say
like silk they sit me down they like silk um why these movies didn't do good and we our meeting
was supposed to be 30 minutes um Noreen shot For real. It turned out to a seven-hour meeting.
And they picked... So, think about no limit.
You consulted them.
Hold on.
You took a...
They gave you $10 million.
You took a shadow for $200 in the room.
$10 million?
They ain't no $10 million.
How much they gave you for that meeting?
I'm not telling you how much they gave you.
It wasn't that much.
What the fuck?
Why we had to stay in the same room?
In the room?
That's a lie.
Who stayed in the same room?
You and DeWalt?
Exactly.
That's a lie.
Don't do that, DeWalt.
DeWalt won't get you, bro.
Don't do that. It was 06. That's a lie. Don't do that, Duvall. Duvall gonna get you, bro. Don't do that.
Don't do that.
It was 06.
That's a lie.
I had 5 stars.
I didn't even picture this.
You and Duvall stay in the same room?
Yeah, on his dime.
Norrie, no.
Now, normally, when we be by ourselves,
we don't be in the same room.
But when we were with him, we were like, man, this nigga.
If they want to stay in the room,
they stay in the room because they wanted to.
There was never nobody stay in the same room.
That's like, don't do that. Come on, talk to me. If they want to say the movie stay back to the morning, they was never nobody stay in the same room
No, but honestly, this is doubly not just Jack said they was on bunk beds.
Dude, I'm taking,
I took,
these guys are funny as heck.
Good joke, Buster.
Come on,
you gonna say,
you gonna say Norris?
I might try to book Norris.
Now, Norris,
you don't want to come
to this movie.
Why you smacking my hand
on me?
I might want to book Norris.
I'm trying to connect with you.
You trying to connect with me.
You trying to connect
and then be on your side.
Like, all the state and nationwide. This is trying to connect and be on your side. Like,
all the state
and nationwide.
It's simple.
But no,
so they took that,
so they just bought
the More Money,
More Family part
because they kind of
wanted me in a circle,
whatever.
And so,
no,
it's like one of those things
where I just was
kind of introduced to it,
but I also learned the system.
And the system is,
it's designed for us,
but we go away from it. We got to balance it all so you could do those movies and then you could really like we
could make some big movies for the culture but why why we can't um make fast and furious right
i'm saying we can own that like we could literally but we can't do it if we trying to lowball the
production part and they don't keep us in the the same way I don't know about that part but they known
to do that because I know
some Hollywood actors that I be like
yo you know you guys could do
these projects yourself they're starring in the
movies but the system
is giving them what they want to but I'm
like I know what your girl name is
who played Cookie whatever
Taraji P. Henson motherfucker don't you deal with her like that I'm sorry I'm out of bed I'm like, I know what your girl name is who played Cookie, whatever. Taraja Peterson, motherfucker.
Don't you deal with her like that.
No, I'm sorry. I'm not bad.
I'm sorry. I'm on my mind blank.
That's all this traffic.
Richie Rich.
No, I flew from always.
Sorry, now, Norris.
If it wasn't for you...
I understood it.
If it wasn't for you, Norris,
I wouldn't...
Norris, you get your bitch ass
out of here with that shit.
You know, you're going to let him
get away with that.
You wouldn't let me get away with that.
But I ain't even, what you talking about?
The same way you did Beyonce and Jay, you got to do Taraji like that.
That's royalty.
Oh, okay, my bad.
But I understood what he said when he said cookie.
That's what I'm saying.
I did, because she does a hell of a job as cookie.
Let's just be clear.
I'm in the Twilight Zone.
Yeah, come on.
Oh, this ain't going to go my way.
It never is.
This the dynamic of my shit.
It's Taraji, yeah.
Taraji, that's the one.
I'm the comic read.
No, I was blank for a second.
Oh, I'm the jester.
I got it.
I got it.
No, I was blank
and what I was telling Sam was
she's doing all these big roles
and she's underpaid.
I was saying like...
So how much you going to pay her now?
I'm going to pay her whatever she want.
Hey, Taraji,
you're trapped.
She's going to pay you
whatever you want, baby.
Yeah.
I mean, with and reason.
I'm saying with and reason.
What's unreasonable?
Because it's just unreasonable.
Because her manager...
Forget about it.
I'm trying to get...
I'm going to manage Taraji and Silk at the same fucking time.
Well, cut me a break on Taraji then.
Okay, cool.
That's all you got to say?
And we in business?
Shake mine?
Be careful.
Don't do it.
Don't do it.
Good handshake.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's kind of going to stick, but then it might not stick.
You know what I'm saying, Corey?
It might not stick.
But no, that's it.
So it's just us kind of having a chance.
Because we powerful enough to do it.
We just got like the top got to be fed by a bunch of people that believe in it.
But they know that we're the only people that's going to under budget ourselves in the films.
We're in a Tyler Perry studio.
He's doing his thing.
You've been to this place though? I heard about about it I got a small little Tyler Perry studio in Atlanta

You know what I'm saying?
Follow that right now.
You know what I'm talking about?
He does all of the promo for every rapper that comes through.
Okay, then I'm one of every rapper.
Okay, I guess then.
Yeah, you in, baby.

Are we doing this on the show right now?
Yeah, Swan Divots.
I love Swan Divots.
Right by the fucking airport.
When you get there, I don't know if you like seafood, but goddammit,
this is what got me and my old lady together,
because she liked the shark platter too.
And you like to eat ass.
Goddammit.
You got a whole lot of ass.
Yeah.
She got a whole lot.
Yo, so anything else

I think I got the book.
I mean...
You got the book.
You got the lines.
Tell them what the book called.
Called Pave.
Called Pave Music.
You said you got another book
you're going to do, right?
Yeah, I got one.
It's super dope.
We like 70%.
You sure you're going to
release that right now?
Nah, whenever you say it, boss,
I'm going to do it. All right, whenever I say it. All right. Nah, whenever you say it, boss, I'm going to do it.
All right, whenever I say it.
All right, cool.

If you want to take over,
give me all your fucking money.
And I guarantee you,
I'm going to make that shit.
Pop!
Do your making of it.
All right, let's still say one last thing, please.
Oh, no.
Listen, man, I want to salute y'all, man.
I've watched the show.
It was a dope show.
Good looking, man.
Appreciate y'all having me. Thank you, man. And definitely appreciate y'all sticking back. I wanted to salute y'all, man. I've watched the show. It was a dope show. Good looking, man. Appreciate y'all having me.
Thank you, man.
And definitely appreciate y'all sticking back.
I got it for y'all.
I went through these flights.
They not whatever.
I know it was probably through the airlines.
Tell them about me, though, in this fight show.
Tell them about me.
Don't discount me.
Let me tell you something.
Jack Willard said you was here yesterday.
I swear to God.
The day before yesterday.
The day before yesterday. The day before yesterday.
The day before yesterday.
He was like, yo, yeah, I saw him.
I was like, really?
He said he was like, I saw you?
Wow.
Yeah, yeah.
He said you guys went to dinner together.
The good eye.
The bad eye.
He said you guys had the shirt platter.
I'm in this hotel.
He in this hotel.
So I was like, all right, we good.
So I'm standing.
And then Jack's like, oh, I had thought.
I had thought he was next to me.
Dang, I made whatever you need to happen, happen. I to happen happen in order for you to be here right now.
That's why I deserve to get 40%.
40%?
40%, wow.
40%?
You've been rich already?
Come on, man.
Let me eat off of you for three months.
Jack is lying to me.
Three months?
Can I eat off of you for three months? Three months, to me. Three months? That's the go-shake. Can I eat off of you for three months?
Three months, okay.
But you got to say yes
to everything.
Everything?
Say yes to every
fucking thing
for the next three months.
I got skits with us
with all kind of niggas.
With us?
With all kind of niggas, man.
For sure, I appreciate you.
It's Jackie, baby.
It's Jackie.
It's Jackie, baby.
I will say this part
because I really do these
and I really do a lot of stuff.
But this is your house.
Anytime you want to speak,
anytime you want to promote anything,
this is your house.
But tell them what y'all did
to not call us in.
But tell them what you did to me, though.
Yeah.
Hold on, hold on.
Let him finish.
Let him finish.
Well, no, I'm saying that to say
because I respect the show,
respect you for sure,
both of y'all for sure.
Thank you.
Which I'll do for everybody else too.
He knows that I have a tendency
to be like, I ain't coming, right?
So, and I,
it was a thought,
but that's like once I realized
what it was about,
I was like, yo,
I'm going to make it
in some way, shape, or form.
But I'm also, like I said,
once again, salute you
for saying what you said
about staying back.
And he told me that
and I was like,
oh, that's super dope
and I appreciate that.
Because you're really
a big staple in this game.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's like,
even when I was playing
with Beanie Sigourney recently,
a lot of times,
some of us don't really just...
Because we are humble.
And we are just like,
you know, whatever.
Whatever we did in life.
But sometimes,
it's just like my good friend
Busta Rhymes says to me.
He always be like,
I like that you humble,
but fuck that.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, and he's like,
because he's like yo, why like
if you are that dude,
you know what I'm saying, when you walk in the room
you might as well just capture that shit,
you might as well just be it.
And just in case you don't know
that's what our show is about.
Everyone's saying giving flowers,
we started that slogan.
We didn't make up the slogan,
but we started that slogan because
so many people after you got 10 years or more they want to say that you washed up or you whatever
that's not what it should be and rock and roll is no word for washed up and jazz is no word for rock
washed up and all this our society our community our our government for lack of a better term us
we gotta keep give each other the roses we gotta keep bigging each other up i gotta keep telling you how dope it was and even though i might have took it personally my source of voice
maybe you probably didn't deserve it like the next real talk yeah you know i'm saying like when i
look back at the album sales and i say oh okay damn i can see where that was coming from but
you know i'm young back then i'm 18 years old i wanted to win everything but that's a beautiful
thing that's a beautiful thing And like I said Like for us
It's always to praise each other
Like because who else
Is going to do it
If I ain't going to say to you
Yo Silk man
I don't know what type of year
You had
That's how I knew
What type of
When the albums was
Without Googling
Because I knew
When the shit was dropping
I was like whoa
And like
And I'm playing in the game
So why wouldn't I say that
To your face
Why wouldn't I tell you how great you are?
Why wouldn't I say, you know what I'm saying,
how much you meant to the culture,
to the society, to the community?
And not only just you,
but your overall label.
The shit that y'all did in its entirety
is just mean so much.
So we got to give you your roses.
We got to show you love.
You a motherfucking legend.
You a motherfucking legend. You a motherfucking legend.
Let's take a couple of pictures.
Wait, wait, wait.
But do I get my roses for getting the nigga?
No, no, no.
No, no, no.
It's not worth it.
All right, you got to take some pictures.
No roses.
After they take pictures.
