Now, usually, you know, when we start the show and we do the show, we give like, you know, an intro introducing these people. But I'm just going to just read off stats.
Starting point is 00:03:31 Let's just start off stats. Let's go. Four-time NBA champion. Three-time NBA Finals MVP. NBA Most Valuable Player 2000. 15-times NBA All-Star. Three-times NBA All-Star, three times NBA All-Star game MVP, All-Star NBA First Team, All-Star NBA Second Team, All-NBA Third Team, NBA All-Defensive Second Team, NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Rookie First Team, NBA scoring champion, two times IBM Award winner,
Starting point is 00:04:08 NBA anniversary team, retired at 34, and it just keeps going. You forgot one. Okay. And the only one to go platinum. And the only one to go platinum. Oh, you didn't say we didn't get into all that stuff. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:04:21 I still got my intro. Hold on, hold on, hold on. We got a drink to that. Okay, let's drink to that. Let's go. Yeah, let's go. Yeah, so. Yeah, I got my own drink.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I don't worry about what I'm drinking. Okay, okay, okay. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. So, so. I'm going to go ahead and say it. I'm going to go ahead and say it. The best on record. Don't worry about what I'm drinking.
Starting point is 00:04:37 The best basketball. No chasing, no chasing. Listen, listen, listen. The best basketball player in the world. I'm going to go ahead and say it. I'm going to go ahead and say it. The best basketball player in the world. I'm going to go ahead and say it. The best basketball player in the world. I'm going to go ahead and say it. I'm going to go ahead and say it. The best on record. Don't worry about what I'm drinking.
Starting point is 00:04:45 No chasing, no chasing. The best basketball player, rapper of all time. I need another drink. I'm gonna go ahead and say that. Another drink. Of all time. The only basketball player that got a platinum plaque. We're doing a lot of talking, where y'all drinks at?
Starting point is 00:05:01 Yeah, let's go. Come on, man. So in case y'all don't know who the fuck we talking about, we talking about the one, only Shaq T. The second drink. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm on that second drink. Ah.
Starting point is 00:05:16 By the way, Shaq, these are our sports co-hosts right here. I know who they are. I know who they are. Shaq, so I'm going to drink some champagne. OK. Because we don't know if you know what our show is about. Our show is about giving people their flowers and we wanted to start off this show by giving
Starting point is 00:05:29 you your flowers early. Even though they might have some greasy fingers because they eat Popeyes. Hey, you know what? No, forget all that crap. Come on, man. Drink. Come on, man. Drink, man.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Come on, big dog. Drink. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. Come on, big dog. No forget all that Ah! Okay, man. You're gonna put my thang on that. You're gonna put my thang on that. You're gonna put my thang on that.
Starting point is 00:06:10 You mad. So we re-Googled you. Don't ask me what I'm drinking. It said you own Papa John's. It said you own Papa John's. I don't own Papa John's. But you own some of them. I'm on the board. So when the Papa John's whole I don't own Papa John's. But you own some of them. I'm on the board. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:25 So when the Papa John's whole fiasco went down. The racial things, just to be clear. They called me, and I said, I'll be involved if old boy is not involved. So they made me the first African-American member on the board, and we put some females on the board, and we're doing well now. The guy that's in charge, a guy by the name of Jeff Smith, he brought me along. I wish I owned the whole thing, but Jeff Smith owns it. I'm just the first and only African-American member
Starting point is 00:06:50 on the board of Papa John's. So, you know, we're doing big things now. You said first and only? Let's start somewhere. Let's start somewhere. Let's start somewhere. Hey, hey, hey, hey. What's going on, man?
Starting point is 00:07:01 Hey, hey. You ain't know that? Yes. No. We up. We up. Come on, man? OK. OK. You ain't know that? Yes. No. We up. We up. Come on, big dog.
Starting point is 00:07:09 We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up.
Starting point is 00:07:17 We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. We up. Offered. Because I heard you were supposed to get,
Starting point is 00:07:25 you were supposed to be down with Starbucks at first? No, what happened was, I could have been the first one to open up a Starbucks in the hood. So, all right, that's the key word. So, the owner of Starbucks, he came and he said, Shaq, I want to open up a Starbucks in the hood. And I'm thinking about where I'm from. I'm like.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Jersey City. Jersey, right? I'm like, that ain't going to work. Oh, you said it wouldn't work. Yeah, I told him to do it first. You told him you didn't drink coffee. Yes, I did. I was like, my man, that ain't going to work.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Because, like, I'm thinking hood, but I ain't know nothing about re-gentrification. So after I turned it down and Magic Johnson did it, you know, made a lot of money. But, you know, I was just trying to stay true to my roots because nobody in my family drank coffee. So I was like, Howard Schultz, you know, who's a good friend of mine, the owner of Starbucks, I was like, I don't think it'll work. And my guy was kicking me under the table like, like, yo, take these Starbucks. Like, it was going to be Shaquille O'Neal's Starbucks.
Starting point is 00:08:25 He's like, take these Starbucks. That's crazy. That would have been crazy. I mean, but that's why when we say educate yourself, it's not all about going to school. It's just like learn. Like you gotta know what's going on in your neighborhood. I know where re-gentrification is now in Newark
Starting point is 00:08:42 because I'm doing it. Me and my group, the Boré group, we're responsible for tearing down the projects and building condos and building... In Newark. Yes, in Newark. And what are you doing with the people that are there now? So we have, you know, we're charging people,
Starting point is 00:08:56 but, you know, we let people, you know, do the Section 8 thing. You know, we give people jobs. So, you know, we're beautifying, you know, the city. Not displacing people. Oh, never. Oh, never that. All right, people right oh never all right drink to that so so i've seen you and david do you feel like you're the best basketball rapper of all times?
Starting point is 00:09:27 Yes. I do, too. I got your back. I got your back. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Yeah. Yeah. Not because of bars or whatever. It's because of my discography. Right. So I- Actually got record with big and nines. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I figured out that- so one, you know, we all come from the same place. Like, basketball and music is right there. So for me, I'm not on the court, I'm LL Cool J. I went to the flea market and got the fake dookie rope and got the can't go. Because he was in sneakers at one point. That's what I'm saying. So I'm in the mirror. Then when I get to the court, I'm Dr. J.
Starting point is 00:09:59 So when I first got drafted, I said, I want to do something different. Like, everybody buys a $2,000 suit and sit and brag about it. I said, I want to rap in my favorite rap group. Right. Which was Foo Snickers at the time. Foo Snickers. Right. So I did it on our senior hall show.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Shout out to Foo Snickers. Shout out to Foo. So I did it on our senior hall show. My agent called me the next day and said, man, you ain't going to believe this. I said, what? He said, Jive offered you $10 million for three albums. And I'm like, bro, $10 million? $10 million.
Starting point is 00:10:29 I never wanted to be a rapper. I never wanted to do an album. You know, for me, just meeting you guys is a pleasure. Because even though I'm Shaq, I'm still a kid. All right, that's fine. But you remember when you first came out, who was the first one to call you? Yes, yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I ain't gonna lie. It's like a gun strategy. It's like a gun strategy. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna lie. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie.
Starting point is 00:10:45 I ain't going to lie. I ain't going to lie. You played one game, and I'm just sitting there watching it. And then at the end of the game, the announcer just asked you, said, something. And he goes, my name's Shaq, but only fam call me Papi. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:11:00 I said, Shaq is crazy. I'm sitting there, so I'm sweating. The whole room, everyone just stopped and looked and said, did Jack just say your rhyme on live TV? So when you and Damien littered, right, what was y'all dispute? He was saying that he was the best. What was it? It wasn't a dispute.
Starting point is 00:11:17 It was fun for me. Okay. Okay. Because I felt like a rapper. I was in a battle. Damien's a fine fella. Great rapper, great player, but you know how we are with our egos. You can't say you're the best when I'm around.
Starting point is 00:11:32 You can't say you're Superman when I'm around. But it's nothing personal. Okay, you say you're the best, watch this. You drop one, you drop two. It was fun. You know, we talk all the time. You know, we had a great time. And I wish real MCs could be like that.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Like a man, you got beef. We'd call and talk. Hey, my wife all in, my kids all in. We'd say whatever you want. You say, and then we'd just go back and forth. Leave it on the mic, like leave it on the court. Yeah, leave it on the mic. So when I got that album deal, I was like,
Starting point is 00:11:59 I don't want to be a rapper, but I want to rap with all my favorite rap artists. So what makes me the best, like I said, is my discography. Because it was ruined. Fool Schniggins. Mm-hmm. Red Man. Yes.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Wow. Eric Sermon. Yep. Fat Joe. Mm-hmm. Big Pun. Mm-hmm. Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Mm-hmm. Quincy Jones. Mm-hmm. Lord Tariq. Nas. Mm-hmm. Lord Tariq. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Notorious B.I.G. Mm-hmm. Jay-Z. Mm-hmm. Ice Cube. Mm-hmm. Snoop Cube, Snoop Dogg, and a lot of underground rappers. Peter Gunz, Corey Gunz, Cannabis. That's your boy, Cannabis, right? That's your boy, Cannabis. Let's drink to that. Cube, be real.
Starting point is 00:12:44 You want to ask me what I'm drinking? It was, don't act like I asked you what you're drinking. Yeah, yeah, don't, don't worry about it. But it was rumored that you had the first record. I can't hear you. That's a real idea. It was rumored you had the first record with Nas, Jay-Z, and Big.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Yes. Like on the same record together. So why did that record didn't come out like that? Because when it came out, was it Jay and Big? You know how it is. Like the clearances and the publishing and all that. But tell the people. Tell the people that don't know how it is.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Name of the record is No Love Lost. And it was you? Jay. Jay, Nas. Nas, Lorde Tariq. Oh, wow. And people didn't clear it. Look, I didn't take it personal.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Because again, me being in the studio with Nas, I'm happy. I get to call my boy and be like, hey, come over. Nas over. I get to call my boy and say, hey, Jay in here. I get to call my boy and say, yo, Biggie at the house. We about to jump on the C-Dews. That's what it's all about. And not to disrespect you guys, it wasn't enough money in that for me.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Because I went platinum, right? I did. So I was like, ooh, I went platinum. And they showed. I did. So I was like, ooh, I went platinum. And they showed me the check. And I was like, this is some bullshit. You know what I'm saying? I was like. And then I learned a valuable word, recoup.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Recoup. So like I had to go, I was like, how you going to charge me for studio when I got my own studio? I don't know. This ain't right. Yeah, yeah. So I got a few hundred thousand back.
Starting point is 00:14:04 But I was like, so I really focused on just going in there and having a good time with my favorite artists. Was that ever like a sidetrack? Because, you know, Ron Autess is actually from Queensbridge. I'm from Left Frack, not too far away. And I remember Ron being fully distracted because he was really focused on his album. And we, like, people that's his friends have associated to him was like, nah, bro, stay on the goddamn court. Did, was that ever, like, crossed your mind?
Starting point is 00:14:31 Like, were you distracted? No, I knew I had to impress both worlds. I don't think I just called up Redman, Eric Sermon, said I want to be a rapper. Like, they auditioned me, freestyle. I had to freestyle, okay. Freestyle again. Nah, that's written, that's written. gonna be a rapper like they they auditioned me freestyle right the freestyle okay freestyle again nah that's written that's written you know can you find me like so i had to like every every rapper that show up i had to audition i had to say i had to i had to do my part first send it
Starting point is 00:14:57 first and they're like okay cool but i realized that you and Big was in the studio together, right? No. No? Yeah, so when I finally got the word that Big was going to do it, I did a verse. But I didn't like it. I did it because remember... You ain't like it or Big ain't like it? No, no, I ain't like it. Because remember, the studio was my house. So I would wake up and...
Starting point is 00:15:18 Nah, because my thing is, this is Big coming in. Right. One, I got to impress Big because if Big say, no, this is terrible, I'm done. I won't get a second shot. So I did it. Let my boys hear it. He ain't bob his head. It ain't good.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Let my boy hear it. He ain't like it. It ain't good. Let my boy hear it. That one tight. So, okay, so Big flew down, him and Lil' C, so I'm nervous. Right. And, you know, we go in the studio, him and Lil' C.
Starting point is 00:15:44 He said, play it. So I played it, and he started doing this. so I'm nervous. And you know, we go in the studio, him in a little seat, he said, play it. So I played it, and he started doing this. Now I'm like, ah, so he like, okay, big dog, that's tight, that's tight. And then I said, okay, he likes it, so I'm gonna let him, you know, him in a little seat do their thing. So I said, here you go, big.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Pat the pen. No, no, no, yeah, pat the pen. So he go hit the pat the pen, hit this button right here, I'm gonna be in the house. He said, nah, I'm ready right now. I said, you go hit the Pat and Penn, hit this button right here, I'm gonna be in the house. He said, no, I'm ready right now. I said, what you mean you ready right now? And he started smiling, and he went in there, and he killed it, and the first verse,
Starting point is 00:16:12 I'm the only one that got it, and I'll never play it. He went off. And I damn near had a tear in my eye because I had to press that button. I was like, oh, big. He was like, yeah, yeah, for the kids, for the kids. My bad, Diesel. And then he did the verse that you heard in the thing.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Oh. Oh, damn. And you got it. Yeah, I got it. I got it. But I'm not going to play it. Right, right. All right.
Starting point is 00:16:34 What's your favorite era in hip hop? Our era. I could make some music out of that. Let's drink to that. Let's drink to that. Let's drink to that. Let's drink to that. Is Deezer listening to this new music? He's got a drink. Oh, you got a drink.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Oh, man! I took the chips! No, you didn't. No, you didn't. All right, I got to watch out. He's drinking. Big dog going to drink. Watch out.
Starting point is 00:16:57 He got drunk. But you almost got some weak drinks. You almost got it in the face. So, are you listening to this new generation? I try not to be the ones that, because. You don't want to be the old guy. Not that, but remember when we came, well, when y'all came out, everybody was on y'all too.
Starting point is 00:17:21 So I just try to support the big guys, just try to teach them business. It's different. Like, I don't really buy it, but when you're in the club and they play it, you're like, like that F Negro Free song by the girls. F Negro Free? Yeah, that shit go hard. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:36 That shit go hard. You know. Yeah, F-R-E, that shit. Oh, you heard it? Hey! I was in the club the other day and I heard that, that's good! I'm like, who is that? That shit go hard. I was in the corner and I heard that dance. Go!
Starting point is 00:17:46 I'm like, what was that? That shit go hard. Because you're a DJ, too, so you've got to know the music. Yeah, so it go hard. So I try not to, like you said, try not to be the old guy, but I like our era. What's up? I actually like the era before us. Okay, 80s?
Starting point is 00:17:59 That 80s? Yeah, 80s, because it showed a lot of. This marquee era? Yeah, because I'm from, look, I'm from Jersey, so we started off with, you know, Grand Master Flyer, LL, Run DMC. But then when I get down to Texas, you hear Ghetto Boys. And then when I go to L.A.,
Starting point is 00:18:14 you hear Snoop and Dre and them. And then when I move down south, you hear Jermaine Dupri. So I like music as a whole, but I like our era because it was the hardest. It was all about lyrics. Lyrics and style, and everybody had a different style. Every region sounded like a different thing.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Everybody had a different style. So let me ask you in basketball, have you ever seen somebody that said, man, if I would play against him, like he would mind you or you? Remind me of me? Yeah, did anybody remind you of you? Never?
Starting point is 00:18:42 Man, you got to drink that. No, no. Nobody, no, no. Nobody, no, no. Because at one point I learned that- Yo, man, you ain't drinking, man. I did. I did. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:18:51 At one point, you might be mad at me for this. At one point, I did see, in the beginning of his career, I did see slight version of you in Dwight Howard. Yeah, he was nice. Later on, after you got kicked out? I thought. Yeah. So when he first came out, I thought he was a little bit better, more athletic.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Okay. I'm more hip-hop and more street, but he's a little bit more. He can jump higher. Right. So a lot of times when I criticize these guys, I'm really giving them the answers to the test, but they don't know it. Like I kept saying about Dwight, all you got to do is average 28, 15. But you know these youngsters, their favorite thing to say.
Starting point is 00:19:27 15 rebounds. Yeah. Okay. You know these youngsters, their favorite thing to say, oh, you hating. Right. But I'm like, yo, if you do what I tell you to do, you can be up there. But he never listened. Like, I, when people criticize me, I can stop time.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I can say, okay, is there any truth in that criticism? Like Shaq did I- As a young man you were thinking this way? Yes. Because my father's a drill sergeant, so I heard it all. Everybody thought that's why you went to the general insurance, because your father's the surgeon. Yeah, that was good to hear.
Starting point is 00:20:00 That's funny, you had to think of that. You had to think of that. Who stole my cup? That's funny Nobody say you can stop time. It's not a stop time. So Shagged it out with Nori Nori kill Shaggin out. Let me stop was that Then I got guns challenging was there? Yeah, he killed me. I can't say nothing. Nah, my man, what happened?
Starting point is 00:20:30 He killed me. They used to say Shaq can be the best guy in the world, but he's not a great free throw shooter. Can't be mad at that. That's facts, right? Yeah, we brung a ball court. We want to see if you can hit some free throws right now after you finish drinking. Nah. I ain't no ball player. I'm a rapper.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah. I'm a rapper. You're a good guy. Now, when we started this. Drake. No, I'm kidding. Hey. When we started this, we thought to ourselves,
Starting point is 00:21:01 because this wasn't like, when podcasts first started, it was like for nerves. So when we started this, we was was like we want to be like Shaq, Kenny and Charles because the reason why Shaq, Kenny and Charles is so respected is because you guys was in the locker rooms you got rings Kenny Smith got rings he's from left rack city and Charles he got something like rings you know I'm saying and but y'all keep it real because when y'all critique another player it comes from a level of love. How did that originally, because was it Kenny Charles and the other guy at first and then you got added on, correct?
Starting point is 00:21:33 How did this chemistry start? It was Kenny and Ernie first. Okay. Then Charles got added on. Then I got added on. Look, they already had a great show. Right. So the first year I came there, I was trying to be on my professional Brian Gumbel.
Starting point is 00:21:46 It was terrible, so the producer, TK, pulled me to the side and said, we didn't bring you here for that shit. We want you to be Shaq. It was like, oh, you want me to be me? So once I started doing what I do, the show became better. But Ernie, Ernie's the guy.
Starting point is 00:22:01 That's my man. Ernie's the guy. But we, you guys respect the show because you know Shaq was a bad motherfucker. Right. Barkley was bad. Right. Kenny got two rings. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:13 He's a bad motherfucker too. I'm not going to let you down. He got two rings on Nick. No, no. He bad, but I ain't going to drink to that. So, what you smoking, man? No, no, no. Just a cigarette. Let me see it. Just a cigarette. No, no, no, don't worry. Don't worry. Don't worry. It's out. It's out.
Starting point is 00:22:27 It's out. It's out. Don't worry. Oh, man. Oh, but hold on. It was a cigarette? Yeah, it was a cigarette. Oh, my bad.
Starting point is 00:22:35 My bad. I apologize. I'm sorry. It's my bad. Yeah, it's a cigar. Cigar. Cigar. Cigar.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Cigar. Cigar. Cigar. Cigar. Cigar. Cigar. Oh, but hold on, it was a cigarette? Yeah, this is a cigarette. Oh, my bad, my bad. I apologize. I'm sorry. This is a cigar. Cigar, cigar.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Cigar. No disrespect. No disrespect. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cigar, okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We flipping around, Bouncing. So, we said about Papa John's.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Did we speak about Five Guys? Because we got Five Guys. Did we get that right? So, I used to own a whole bunch of Five Guys, but I sold them. So now, I started a fast cash was called big chicken Big chickens and we started off in Vegas and we just sold 250 locations. Oh wow pretty good, but no no you so reason why I like stuff ain't updated because I Don't want it to seem I'm up here bragging all the time.
Starting point is 00:23:26 Right. So I don't, like, you know, one time I was on, I do this, I do this, and my mother didn't like that. So a lot of times I don't really tell people what I'm doing. Right. Like, who owns Muhammad Ali? Right. Who owns Muhammad Ali? Who owns?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Not Muhammad Ali. The estate? Yeah. His daughter. Who owns Marilyn Monroe? Who owns Forever 21? You. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:48 That's the flow. That's the flow. I can hear you talking about that. Who owns Reebok? You own Reebok? I need a sneaker deal. You need drunk sneakers? I don't like updating that stuff.
Starting point is 00:23:56 You need to come out with drunk box. Because it ain't even about that for me. Right. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:24:04 You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You know, it's about a young kid who doesn't know what he's doing. You need to come out with Drunk Box. Because it ain't even about that for me. Right. You know, it's about a young kid who didn't have anything. And two people who weren't really that small either. I'm not saying they weren't that small, but they didn't have college degrees. They said, you can be anything you want. Right.
Starting point is 00:24:19 And I was watching a program. Matter of fact, it was the Point Gods. Oh, NYC Point Gods. Yeah, NYC Point Gods. And they talked about how all the OGs protected. Yeah. Same for me. Yeah. program my fact was the point gods oh they want to see point guys and talk about how all the old jeans protected yeah same for me yeah when I was in North shout out to Mustafa and why do and Sultan I want to hang out with the boys are like man take your ass go street over there
Starting point is 00:24:39 can you suppose a little over to me so I didn't get to see the drug dealers protect him but I got to see the drug dealers personally protect Kenny Anderson. Kenny Anderson used to come outside, and they used to send him upstairs. Buy him an IC, get him some shit, and send him upstairs. You cannot hang out. And I had two uncles that was cops, Uncle Jerome and Uncle Mike. They didn't play that. So they let them know, if I see y'all around Diesel, it's going to be some trouble.
Starting point is 00:25:02 You had both sides protecting you. Yeah, so it was all good, all love. And you were a cop in Miami-Dade County still, right? I wasn't until you just blew my cover. Like that, man. Drink the hitter's deep cover. On today's episode of Smith's Chats. You know what?
Starting point is 00:25:19 You know what? Smith's Chats. Like that, man. Drink that. Oh, my God. Like that, man. You just blew my cover. Now my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:44 Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Okay. But this is why I started dunking. Because you see how the big men play now? Shooting jumpers move. I started out like that. One day in Texas, and I only lost one game in high school in two years. So one day, I got 39-3. I'm working on my crossover. I lay a dude up, finger roll, and a miss. My father just drills our uniform, walks on the court during the game,
Starting point is 00:26:02 call a timeout. I was like, yo, man, call a timeout. So call the timeout, go outside. What are you doing? I said, man, I'm working on my doctor. And before I could say Dr. J, he smacked the shit out of me. Whap. Ain't no Dr. J. B. Shaq. So from that point on, because I was mad at him, every time I dunk, I tried to tear the rim down. But what I noticed when I started dunking and kicking my legs that everybody else would be scared He's like see motherfucker. That's what I'm talking myself That's when I saw when I started dunking like that you channeled that I channeled that yeah I mean cuz you know his thing was play big play strong cuz like I I wanted to be the next Magic Johnson
Starting point is 00:26:39 It's like handles, crossover, you know, all that stuff. Yeah, I see you trying to get your rock on, yeah. Not trying to get my record. That was it. Yeah, yeah. What handles? Yeah, so, I mean, I was playing like that, but once he told me how to channel that energy, then, you know, it became something different. Because back then, that was the thing.
Starting point is 00:27:01 They used to say, big men don't have a handle. Yes. You know what I mean? And so, I think, yeah, you were like one of the... No, I was the thing, they should say big men don't have a handle. Yes. You know what I mean? So I think, yeah, you were like one of the- No, I was the first to go coast to coast. To skip to my Lou and Lee. Yes, all that.
Starting point is 00:27:12 So Shaq, this is one of the most wonderful stories I've ever heard on the internet. You just got so sentimental. You see his face? Rollin' in the elevator with Stevie Wonder. Yeah. I got some other stories. Rolled in the elevator with Stevie Wonder. Yeah. I got some more. Somebody told me something.
Starting point is 00:27:28 I rebuttal to this. Okay, hold on. I want to hear the story. Hold on, because first of all. We lived in the same building on Wilshire. All right, I just need to describe this story. You can park in front, or you can park at the bottom. I'm already in the elevator.
Starting point is 00:27:45 So you're saying Stevie got out of his car with double O? No, I didn't see that, but he got on the elevator, though. Okay. And I'm standing in the corner, I see him, I don't want to say nothing, he like, what up, Diesel? And he hit his button and he got to the floor and I'm like, it's just me and him in the elevator. It's me and him in the elevator.
Starting point is 00:28:00 He came in, at first he came came in he looked and he was like And I didn't say nothing Wait, he not actually look at you? He not, yeah Did you look at him? No, no he like, he did like this and I was like, you know I'm just in the corner He's like what up Diesel? And I was like And then I didn't say nothing, then I called my boy
Starting point is 00:28:19 And they gave me the same reaction that y'all gave me That's all good Yo that's one of our favorite stories Some of you on Twitter was well, he pressed the button because there's Braille on the buttons. That was what someone on Twitter was saying. Right. Elevators have Braille on the side. We wouldn't know if he is because... Yeah, we wouldn't know. It's Shaq. That's the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:28:37 I believe Shaq, man. I believe Shaq. No, absolutely believe him. I'm trying to make sense of it. I'm telling you, Steve, you. Oh, please leave you see a little So I've been spreading the rule. All right Jackson driving I might have made up the driving part but the story is still the same. Stevie Wonder can see. A little. That thing's scared. Nah, a little bit. So Five Guys used to own, so we taking the Five Guys burger
Starting point is 00:29:09 off, and then we messed up because we told them Papa John's and they ordered Popeye's. No, I used to. That's how you know we got bozos working with us. We ordered Papa John's and they ordered Popeye's. Hey, I ain't going to lie, them Popeye's biscuits. Woo! Woo! Did you have the Popeye's sandwich They ordered Popeye's. Hey, I ain't going to lie, them Popeye's biscuits. Did you have the Popeye's sandwich where everyone was going-
Starting point is 00:29:29 No. Because it had cocaine in it. You know that, right? Allegedly. Just drink to that. I don't think you should drink to that, Jack. Allegedly. Allegedly.
Starting point is 00:29:39 How my eyes look? Do they look good? Do they look like I've been drinking? No. What part do you miss about basketball, or do you miss basketball? No, I miss basketball. I miss basketball. I miss basketball. I miss basketball. So how my eyes look? What part you miss about basketball or do you miss basketball you don't miss nothing more today No, because growing up I watched all the karate movies not a great movie starting. What about it's all like this I Did that one time I got in trouble?
Starting point is 00:30:05 I'm answer question. I did. So. What are you doing? You got a truck. I'm going to answer a question, then I'm going to get into the story. So. Don't miss that. Remember growing up, like when you first watched karate movies, the karate master is so crazy nobody can get to him. That's how it was for me. Like I used to love Ewan, and now I get to face him.
Starting point is 00:30:21 I used to love Jordan, and now I used to get to face him. I got to try to beat him. I got to try to beat him. I got to try to beat Barkley. So for me, it was about beating these legends. I don't really see nobody that's going to make me get crazy for that. Now, back to the story. So when Yao Ming was coming, because you know me, I don't really pay attention to nobody,
Starting point is 00:30:39 because I know what I'm going to do to you. So I don't really pay attention. So it's like, this dude's coming. So I got on TV, and I was like, Yao Ming. You want to battle the Great Shaq Fu? Well, I will see you Sunday on ABC. And they was like, oh. And I said, listen, OK, what y'all saying?
Starting point is 00:30:56 Well, I grow a back. That's how I talk to a book. But you know what? I had to bring a movie in to show him. I said, no, no, no, I'm not making fun of him. What, he got offended? No, no, he didn't. But you know. Oh, that was Castle Culture before Castle Culture? They was trying to cancel you before Castle? Yeah, I said, no, no, no, I'm not making fun. What, he got offended? No, no, he didn't, but you know.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Oh, that was Castle Culture before Castle Culture? They was trying to cancel you before Canceling? Nah, I said, no, no, no, no, every Saturday, every Saturday from 8 to 12, I'd be up watching Norio. It's like a good strategy. It's a good strategy, what? I had to bring like a tape and be like, so there was a, oh, but, I said, okay,

I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave
Starting point is 00:32:04 people were here. And I'll say, it seems like the ice age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th, where we'll delve into stories of the West and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today. Listen to the American West with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun? Sometimes the answer is yes, but there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution.
Starting point is 00:32:50 But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. Starting point is 00:33:49 This is kind of star-studded a little bit, man. We got Ricky Williams, NFL player, Heisman Trophy winner. It's just a compassionate choice to allow players all reasonable means to care for themselves. Music stars Marcus King, John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. We have this misunderstanding of what this quote-unquote drug thing is. Benny the Butcher. Brent Smith from Shinedown.
Starting point is 00:34:13 We got B-Real from Cypress Hill. NHL enforcer Riley Cote. Marine Corvette. MMA fighter Liz Karamush. What we're doing now
Starting point is 00:34:21 isn't working and we need to change things. Stories matter and it brings a face to them. It makes it real. It really does. It makes it real. Listen to new episodes of the War on Drugs podcast season two on the iHeartRadio app,

In this episode, I'm joined by Anjali Sood, CEO of Tubi, for a conversation that's anything but ordinary. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there. And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from
Starting point is 00:35:32 our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We'll be right now. No, it's not. Because he like crates. I'm from the crate digging era. Yeah. You ain't carrying no crates yet. I used to in college.
Starting point is 00:36:31 In college? So with the DJ thing, like when you don't do something, people think you can't do it. Right. So I started then. My first, I had two SP-1200 and a Gemini mixer. I started with a Gemini mixer. That's right. I started with the Gemini. I started's right. I started with a Gemini.
Starting point is 00:36:45 I started, Beat Street was my first album. Oh, rough, rough. Like going back and forth. It's scratchy. The water is fresh. Like, you know, I started doing all that.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Then I got away from it when I started rapping. But then I was dating this girl and she took me to this EDM concert. It was a half a million people out there. Yep. Jamming. So I'm like, man, this is nice.
Starting point is 00:37:06 But then I'm reading an article one day, them DJs make $50 million. I'm tapping into some of that. So you'd be like this at the EDM party? Yes, yes. So when I first came in, they put me in the celebrity DJ thing. Like, cool.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Like, they didn't know what I could do. Like, they didn't know I was a real DJ. So the whole year I was doing BS clubs and BS pool party, but now I'm doing I'm doing like 150,000 Stadiums to be clear you practice before you started going up in DJ's But I'm saying for those EDM parties. Well, that's easy because you just you know putting right together But like, you know when we DJ like we DJ hours hours every day, but you gotta still read the crowd Of course, you gotta read the crowd. So, you know, like a lot of these guys already have they sets in so like I'm coming I'll be like
Starting point is 00:37:51 I'm gonna start with this over the EU. So with this, yeah Show Lollapalooza. Can I get Jack Deezer to do a DJ set? Well, I do EDM and dubstep. Y'all don't like the stuff that I'm trying to do. I don't want that EDM, no. But what makes my thing special is I put a lot of hip-hop in there. And dubstep is dope.
Starting point is 00:38:18 What's dubstep? It's out of England. So dubstep is similar to hip-hop and reggae too. In the sense that the BPM is the same 75 80 90 So I do a lot of like popular hip-hop song like I got the top Then when I open up shot like the DM everybody know that and then I do the heartbeats those are the heartbeats You know my boy So look we got a game to be we play on this all the time.
Starting point is 00:38:48 It's called Quick Time or Slide, right? And we usually play it with a drinking game. But what we could do is we could have Sonny D, who we call your little... We call him Baby Shaq. We call him Baby Shaq. He look like Sonny D. We call him Baby Shaq. He's been telling me I look like Shaq.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Nah, you ain't just handsome. We'll take a shot for you. I'm telling you I look like Shaq. So every time you put your pinky around me. He'll take a shot for you. So we'll take these shots, but he'll take a shot for you. What do you mean? He's drinking. He's drinking that Aguardiente. Aguardiente. Good one. All right.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Aguardiente. You want to start it? That's fire water in Spanish. Fire water. Oh, you speak Spanish? Cuban, B. Me llamo El Padrino Negro. Hey!
Starting point is 00:39:26 Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Starting point is 00:39:34 Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Starting point is 00:39:42 Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Yeah, Dominic. As soon as I get off the ball. Dominic can drink my Moana. Yeah, don't fall for that though. As soon as I get off the ball, Papi, El Padrino, what you doing? No mas, no mas, mama, no mas, no mas. Papi, dame, beso, mama.
Starting point is 00:39:55 Dame, beso, no, no, no mas, no mas. All right, let's roll. Okay, can I put my drink up there? Let's get myself ready. Can I put my drink up there? Yeah, yeah, put's get my shot ready. Can I put my drink up there? Yeah, yeah. Put your drink, put your drink. Yeah, I want the answer.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Y'all wanna know what I've been drinking? Yeah, I can lie, let's try. And we do own this. And that's what's up. We gonna support that from now on. Put it right there on the camera. How dare me walk in here with some Fiji? Hey.
Starting point is 00:40:22 What is my problem? What is my problem? What's his name? What's his life? Who roster with the dread? You got a new name Draymond Brown If you if you ask them both, be politically correct, then he drinks for you. So he drinks for you. So you ain't got to drink, but we drink with him. We ain't going to leave him out there like this. I ain't no punk.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Okay, cool. I'm drinking. All right, you ready? Yeah. Tupac or DMX? Tupac. Okay. Hold up.
Starting point is 00:41:00 Do you have a Tupac story? No, I don't have a Tupac story. No stories. You never met Tupac? I would see him all the time. Why? Tupac. Hold up, do you have a Tupac story? No, I don't have a Tupac story. No stories. You never met Tupac? I would see him all the time. Wow.
Starting point is 00:41:09 And I saw him one time in my jersey, but he had a lot of people around him, and he just gave me the... I loved Tupac when he first came out. Yeah, with Out of Danger, Underground, first couple albums after that. His album, All I Want To Be. You know what I'm saying, right after Tupac Loves Now. Yeah, yeah, that album. And I would see him, and our thing is, hip hop and the athletes, we just have to be able Yeah, I'm saying right after Tupac goes now. Yeah, that album. And I would see him.
Starting point is 00:41:26 And our thing is, hip-hop and the athletes, we all have respect for each other because we're all going through the same thing. So I would see him a lot, and he'd just give me this. Same with Nipsey. Like, I never went, like, I wish I could just shake his hand, see what's up, but they would always just give me an hour. You know, I always give them that. So, I mean, so I like him.
Starting point is 00:41:44 However, DMX was very nice to me. One time I threw a party for DMX and it was poorly promoted. It was 30 people there. That man performed for an hour. That man performed for an hour for me. So. And he gave it his all.
Starting point is 00:41:58 It might be Shaq because every time. Can I answer both? Yeah, if you answer both, we drink. Oh, yeah, drink. All right, cool. Because you know what it is drink. Alright, cool. You know what this is, Shaq, too? I experienced this with you as well.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Sometimes we'd be giving people... Can I get a regular shot glass? No, no, no, no. I'll drink the big glass. Hold on, hold on. Shout out to my boy, Mutombo. No, no, no, no, no. Get that shit out of here. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:42:26 Drink, man. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Drink. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Hey, and after you leave, if I see you driving, I'm gonna put some things on you. Hold on, hold on. I know. What if I stay in your county, man?
Starting point is 00:42:40 That's the time that I'm gonna leave. Yeah, yeah. That's the time that I'm gonna leave. Woo, woo. Woo, woo. So, baby. No, shake his hand. Let me give you a hug. Let me give you a hug. I don't believe. I don't believe. Woo! Woo! So, man. Let me give you a high five.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Let me tell you something. I dare you. The first years of, of, of, of Mesh Shop is what Shots used to do. And I don't know if you did it on purpose or if you knew what he was doing. Shots used to come up to you and just go, he just grabbed your whole hand. You just go. I ain't gonna lie to you. He did it to me a couple times.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I was like, I was like, I think I'm gonna like do it to me a couple times. I'm like, that's not overgrown. That's mad. That's because I love you. Yeah, I know, I know. And you helped me become me. That's right, content.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Make some noise for that. No, no, no. No, no, real talk. Real talk. Music calms me down and gets me hype. Nah, that's real. Living in L.A., Death Row had me on fire.
Starting point is 00:43:23 Wow. Going to the game. Yeah. You know, snooping and they just, Death Row had me on fire. Going to the game, snooping, because they was hard, and I had to be hard. So music, I just love. So you know the Crip Walk? I do, but I'm not a Crip. I know how to do it. If Kylie LeBel ain't a Crip, she's Crip Walk over here, too.
Starting point is 00:43:38 To California love. Yeah, I'm not going to do it. I love you guys. I appreciate you guys. Yeah, I'm not going to do it. He said a little bit. But I love you guys. I appreciate you guys. And, you know, the problem with some of us is when we get to a certain level, we don't still show love. I'm going to always show love to all you guys. So I'm like, I don't, look, like, I forgot what Robert said,
Starting point is 00:43:59 but everybody eat, B. Yeah, everybody eat. Like, there's a whole bunch of money right here. I'm going to get mine, but I want you to get yours. Like I was saying, if this room was money, I don't want it all. I want Draymond Brown to get something. You know, I just, hey, so everybody eat. So the reason why I grab you and bring your head to my heart,
Starting point is 00:44:18 because you close to my heart, I love you, and I've always loved you. Same here, Jack. You make the noise for that. That's a good one. Yeah! Yeah! OK. OK, so it's you, and then you're going to go to the next one? Yeah, Scarface or Ice Cube? Ooh.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Still. Both. Oh, shit. Don't worry. You ain't ready. Yeah. Because you know why? I'm going to tell you why.
Starting point is 00:44:40 A lot of times when clips get put out, right, depends on how they cut them. And I know both the gentlemen never wanted to seem like I'm being disrespectful. I know them both. It's actually a really hard pick. Like, I've been knowing Brad for a long time. When I first met Brad Houston, he took me around. Ice Cube has been nothing but nice to me, so I don't want to go,
Starting point is 00:45:02 him and then you guys, not you guys, but your editors put it out like, Shaq chooses. Oh, no, no, we don't do clickbait. We don't do clickbait either. But we're going to drink to that end. I don't know what you do. We're going to drink to that end. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:45:15 No, I'm not even going to say it. No, let me say it. Shaq, you don't do big shots, Shaq. No, no, no, not this time. You don't do big shots. No, no, no. You don't do big shots. Hold on, hold on. Hold on, Nori.
Starting point is 00:45:25 You're a bullshit shot Nori taker. This is a shot. This is that Deleon. You understand. This is the... You're going to take lots of shots of that afterwards. But you never drank chat? You used to drink before?
Starting point is 00:45:33 I do drink. You do drink? But not in public. Okay. Because I can't do nothing to jeopardize my mother's empire. That's the best. So I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize my mother's empire. That's the best.
Starting point is 00:45:41 That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. That's the best. I do drink. You do drink? But not in public. Okay. Because I can't do nothing to jeopardize my mother's empire. That's the best thing. So I'm not going to sit here and say I don't drink. Me and my father used to drink after all the championship games. What's your drink of choice when you drink?
Starting point is 00:45:55 Patron. Patron? Patron. So if I'm at the house, I'll drink. But I'm not going to drink at a restaurant and then jump in the car. Because, you know, my father always used to tell me, if you mess the money up, mama ain't gonna have no house if you mess the money up your mom ain't gonna eat you the one God has chosen you

Starting point is 00:48:35 album I did? No Hooks. Right. And Method Man has always been, again, I'm the shag, but you guys have been my favorite rappers, so when I call, they answer. We break bread. I'm gonna do both But Redman is from my hood. He's family So we saying both?

I'm going to look at the camera and say, Mamacita, I drink, and then you do it in your Spanish voice. No, no, no. Then you got to do it like the Kung Fu move. That's what I'm saying. The Kung Fu move. You're going to run for the commercial. Ready? Here we go.

Starting point is 00:51:48 A bottle boy. Who's on? He said we need a girl in here, we got a bottle boy. He said, hold this buddy up. We all do the girl, brother, wife, we got no chicks in here. Oh Oh Oh, man. Shabba Shabba D. Rest in peace, Shabba D. He's as old as them, too. What do you want me to do? Yo MTV Raps or Rap City?
Starting point is 00:52:32 Yo MTV Raps or Rap City? Rap City. In the basement. The basement, okay. Take the next one. And I was on the basement, by the way. Beat Street and Crush Groove. I was actually in Beat Street. For real? I'm gonna show you the clip.
Starting point is 00:52:48 I know you ain't gonna believe me, but I'm gonna show you the clip. I know, he was in B Street. You got it? Alonzo Mourner or Dwight Howard? Alonzo. MJ or Prince? White Howard. Alonzo. Oh. Okay. What's up? MJ or Prince? You were dating Janet at one point, right?
Starting point is 00:53:13 Who? You. No. Never. Never. Where'd you get that one from? I just gotta throw it out there. No, she actually, she actually, in 95, when I was with my girlfriend, I actually got in trouble.
Starting point is 00:53:25 I was with my girlfriend, she had a show in Orlando and she called me on stage. And we seen the clip recently. Yes. It was that? Yeah, yeah. She was grinding on you, grinding that thing? Yeah. Penny from good times, grinding that thing on the y'all.
Starting point is 00:53:40 When you say it like that, it's crazy. I love Penny. Take it back. MJ showed up at my house and tried to buy my house in Orlando. In Orlando. Yeah, he just showed up at the door. He just showed up. He two-way you?
Starting point is 00:53:53 No. No real estate agents? No. I just banged some dudes. Hey, man, Michael. Did he have the glove on? No, he didn't have the glove on. So I had this big $70,000 girl for a house, and I had a bed that fits 50 people.
Starting point is 00:54:04 He looked around the house. He's like, I want to buy the house. I was like, it's not for sale. And then I went to his house. This dude had a real zoo at his house. In Orlando? He had a carnival, like a whole zoo. Well, he took my neverland.
Starting point is 00:54:14 Not animals. This dude had a real zoo. He had a Ferris wheel in that bitch. He had everything. So I'm going to go with both on that one. Wait, but he said you had a bed that fit 50 people? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Well, I missed that. I didn't even know how to to fit 50 people yeah yeah oh I still got the bed okay I don't mind you saying that, I don't mind you saying that, just put some bass in your voice. You mad trouble right now. I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. I'm just saying, stop. Oh, this is a good one, because this is Jersey both ways. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I'm just saying. Stop. Oh, this is a good one, because this is Jersey both ways.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Lord of the Underground or Naughty by Nature? Both. Naughty by Nature. Tretch. Man, you took it back. You took both back. Tretch is one of the illest. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That Chief Rocker was, ooh. Yeah, man. Yeah, both. Both. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Hey, take your shot. So, okay. Yeah, both. I'm sorry. Hey, drink your shot. So, okay. Oh, man. You too? Everybody. You too? Oh, my bad. What's the name of this shit again?
Starting point is 00:55:32 Aquilino 88. That shit does sound like something I want to drink. Yeah, I'm on it. But we'll just get right with it. Okay, all right, come on. I'm going to go back to that. All right, all right. I got another big note.
Starting point is 00:55:40 Good. Yo, you drank it? How does it replenish itself? I just poured it in. Oh. I got this. I'm gonna go back to that. You all right on the big note? Good. You drank it? How does it replenish itself? I just poured it in.
Starting point is 00:55:48 I got this. Okay, Pat Riley or Phil Jackson? Phil Jackson. No explanation needed. Well, I won three with Phil. I won three. MCing or DJ oh you skipped it you skipped it oh that's for you all right go ahead
Starting point is 00:56:15 MCN or DJ? DJ. Really? Yeah. I didn't think that. I thought you were sure I'm gonna take a shot for just thinking wrong That crowd you just cuz you know, it's only so people have to our DJ. It's only thing that reminds me of a game seven It's a drug that energy you know, it's crazy when people ask me about this This is the only thing that when we drop episode is the only thing that reminds me of going platinum. It's the only thing. You went platinum? Oh, drink to that. Drink to that. You went way too much. No, no, I didn't know. I got one platinum in RE.
Starting point is 00:56:53 I was platinum. I got four gold albums. Yes, I do, bro. I've been out here for a long time. I apologize, bro. But hold on, hold on, hold on. I was the first one to recognize you. That's right.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I never knew you went platinum. That's right. That's right. I'm saying I'm saying you went platinum. I'm saying you went platinum just cause. It wasn't off rip. You went platinum too. No, no, no. It wasn't off rip. first one to recognize Miami or LA Miami that's right okay oh yeah New Okay, yeah. Where we at? Yeah, yeah, go ahead. New Jack City or King of New York? New Jack City. Absolutely, sir.
Starting point is 00:57:31 Nino Brown. Yep. Yeah, get the next one. The Source or XXL? Source. Because they gave me three and a half mics, I thought I was the shit. Hey, it was hard to get those mics. Yeah, it was. It was hard to get those mics. It was.
Starting point is 00:57:45 If the source is out now, the game, I'm going to get five mics. Game, I'm crazy. I only heard the one he shouted me out. He said drink champs too? It's crazy. And hold on.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Y'all need to start showing Pusha T a little bit more respect. No, not y'all. to start showing push it to you a little bit more Michael Jordan or LeBron James Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant or Dwyane Wade Kobe Bryant You don't get your Morant looking ass about here? Come on out here so I can see you. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son.
Starting point is 00:58:33 That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son.
Starting point is 00:58:40 That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. That's my son. Lord Tariq or Peter Gunz? Peter Gunz. Loyalty.
Starting point is 00:58:48 This is the last one. Everyone thinks this is a trick question. Good, because I got to piss drinking all this. OK, yeah. Hold on. Hold on. You're good, because I got to piss drinking all this. Alcalina 88.
Starting point is 00:58:59 And it's the last one. Let me finish it. Let me finish it off. OK, because everyone thinks the trick question is really not loyalty or respect. Loyalty. Because when you're boys, you don't have to respect each other's decision. Right, that's right.
Starting point is 00:59:13 My best friend told me don't bring the water cuz y'all had the water. My dad got the water. But we did have it. Yep, so I kinda disrespected him, but not believing him, but I'm always be loyal to him no matter what. You know, we argue and fight all the time, but the loyalty is always there. Goddamn, that was a great one.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Yeah! I'm taking a shot to that even more. I ain't taking no shot. I got to pee like a mother. We wait for you coming back. Come on, let's go. I'm taking a shot to that for you. Hold on, I'm going to just pee right here in this cup. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:45 That would be your first. That's that pee. I didn't even know what you were talking about. You ready? Yes, I'm ready. God damn it. Oh, we filming? Oh, we filming.
Starting point is 00:59:57 Oh, we don't stop. We don't stop. So, Shaq. Yo, man. Who is more competitive in your opinion? You want me to drink? I'll drink for no reason. No, no. Why? Who is more competitive in your opinion? You want me to drink? I'll drink for no reason. No, no, wait.
Starting point is 01:00:05 Who is more competitive in your nation? I mean, well, Kobe or Jordan, because... I don't... Well, you... You played against them both. Yeah, you see Jordan, and you can see the competitive, but Kobe was a different animal. Right. Like, I used to see Kobe
Starting point is 01:00:23 dribble and shoot without no ball for an hour. Oh, like cattle boxing? Yeah, like cattle boxing. And then go out there and do the same move. Wow. Yeah, Kobe, me and Kobe had similar attitudes. Kobe wanted to be the best ever. I wanted to just be the best at killing you. Because I was never the guy that's, oh, he's the best big man. I wanted to be the most dominant man.
Starting point is 01:00:47 When I walk in, I want people changing rules, people scared, people going like this. I mean, but Kobe is, I want to be the best ever. Like, he used to practice four or five hours a day. I'm not doing that. Because my attitude was, why am I practicing four or five hours for you? Who are you?
Starting point is 01:01:04 I already know what I got to do. I just bought my mama a new house, and she got to keep it. And you ain't going to take that away from me. So, you know, it was a lot of, oh, shit, I didn't work out hard enough. But, no, I know what I got to do. It's all right here. You got to drive. Yeah, it's all right there.
Starting point is 01:01:18 Because, like, they say, like, Kobe was, like, it was just all about the win for Kobe like I was but it But you look at Jordan's story and they say that it's all about that But then the one critique that everyone says about LeBron James is they they always say that he didn't have the killer instinct So I have a question for the panel. Yes When when he needs he needs average 16 points this year to pass up Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. To my LeBron. Yeah. So if he passed up the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in points, does that make him the best player ever?
Starting point is 01:01:53 No. Alright, so hold on. Okay. No, you say no. So if somebody is better than me and I pass them up, are they really better than me? Just asking. And I love these conversations. I really do. I like them like that's actually a great conversation I don't think I have the correct answer for you I think different people have different answers depending some people see it just on stats
Starting point is 01:02:12 okay cuz how can you how can you say you got the dopest yacht when he pulled up in a yacht 200 more feet than you right is your yacht really the dopest I know you got helicopter pad and all that, but this shit four floors. Five. I figured it would be better. Mm-hmm. You sure about that?
Starting point is 01:02:30 Yeah. I mean, I'm just asking. No, I'm just getting off. I mean, because you know me. If you don't have killer instinct, how you get 38,000 points? Yes, sir. I'm just asking.
Starting point is 01:02:41 Keep it right up. Just asking. Right. So, I mean, I can't wait to hear all the experts and hear what they say about that. You know what the crazy shit is? Jordan is the best ever. To me. It happens like that.
Starting point is 01:02:53 You read my ears. We're like, great. To me, Dr. J is the best ever. The best ever. Because he started it. And then, you know, came Magic and then Mike. So, I think when we have these conversation we need to go by Error's definitely by
Starting point is 01:03:13 To be LeBron I mean assuming to me the reason why Jordan is the best ever Is because he won. He never really lost. Yeah, he has six and 0 in the finals. Right. But the reason why, the truth for me, I like people who go through adversity and I think LeBron is the best ever because I really believe that stuff that LeBron does,
Starting point is 01:03:43 Jordan cannot physically do. There's two different sides. There's two different sides. Hey listen, hey listen. Shaq don't have his own thing. Hold on. I got on Jordan's now. I got on Jordan's now. I got on Jordans now.
Starting point is 01:04:07 I'm with Team DMJ. But what I'm saying is, LeBron, like, for me, for me, for me, I love the assist game, the rebound game, the scoring points. He doesn't mind letting someone else someone else Whatever the case may be and that's what I like about these conversations. They can go all day Was about points because for I'm gonna tell you something that LeBron has always been Joe answer my answer my question. What? When that man passed up Kareem, is he the best ever? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:50 Yeah. Listen, I ain't going to lie to you. I love LeBron. Like, me personally, I think LeBron is our version of Jordan. He is. Because I think this year, this was my first time, like, being disappointed. But I did not make it in the playoffs. Because I just want people to know, and I always said this, you can go on my Instagram, I always said, I'm a New York Laker fan.
Starting point is 01:05:11 You got it. I always said that. Because of him. Because of him. And by the way, I get killed for it. By the way, I got killed for rooting for you for years. I used to have a Jack jersey on. Yeah, but you're my guy.
Starting point is 01:05:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I used to have a Jack jersey on. They used to you're my guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just have a Jack jersey on. They just be like, you're from New York. I'm like, I just love Showtime. Who's the most? From Showtime to y'all shit, I was just like, I just couldn't stop fucking with the Lakers. Now, did I adapt to L.A. lifestyle? I didn't do all that.
Starting point is 01:05:41 But I was fucking, and I had never seen that. Like, when you and Kobe had that run like it was like unprecedented how do you say president I'm president who's the most dominant big man? Oh, the most dominant big man in the world? I know him personally. I know him personally. No, but who else? Bill Russell. And who else? My Bill, my mountain. And Will.
Starting point is 01:06:12 And Will. I mean, yeah. Will Chamberlain. So when people say those three names, I don't mind. But if I were to pass up Will Chamberlain in points, I would have came on and said, nope, me. Yeah. Only because I passed him up in points, you know, me.
Starting point is 01:06:30 And I don't want to hit nobody else's name. But he got more points, so, you know, when you say his name. Because that's the end all be all. That's what I'm saying. Right, right. I don't want to, like. To certain people's standards. No, but really, really. Because everybody look at stats.
Starting point is 01:06:40 The standard. That is the standard. The stats. Everybody look at stats. Everybody look at the rings. I mean, points. I put this and that. And it's the only thing that everybody could agree on. That's what I'm saying. Is the standard. The stats. Everybody look at stats. The numbers. Everybody look at the rings. I mean, points, this and that. And it's the only thing that everybody could agree on is the stats. But let me just be honest, let me be clear.
Starting point is 01:06:53 It's like we have the same conversation in hip hop. And a lot of people always give it to like a Drake or such and such. But people always say whoever got the most money is the GOAT. Yeah, but that's hip-hop. But if you got the accolades... I don't think that makes sense. No, hold on, let me finish. If you have the accolades that matches the money,
Starting point is 01:07:14 that's why there's no one that could definitively say Jay-Z's not the GOAT. It's because, one, he has all the accolades to prove it, and then, two, he has all the other accolades to prove it. has the big house he has the money how could you not say he's the goat you know how could you not like what his wife is you know what I mean and I hate saying that I hate saying his wife because it's it to me it takes away from who he actually is like he was that guy and she deserves her own and she deserves her own in her home. And she deserves her own, yes. Of course. You know why? Because you can't break my thug. Yo, you can't break my thug.
Starting point is 01:07:46 You can't break my thug. You can't break my thug. You can't break my thug. You can't break my thug. You can't break my thug. Everybody. Everybody. Everybody.
Starting point is 01:07:54 That's the idea. You can't break my thug. What? Because when we drink it again? When we drink it again? I'm like,. Holy shit. Holy shit.
Starting point is 01:08:02 Yo. And look, and that's why hip hop and basketball is like, you can have a lot of people. Kalina Paciente Ochoa. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Holy shit. Holy shit. And look, and that's why hip hop and basketball is like, you can have these conversations. Who's the best? Who the hardest? Who the, you know, so I love it. What about Allen Iverson?
Starting point is 01:08:17 What was, what was y'all relationship like? He was a dog. He was, he was probably one of the only guys I couldn't punk. Like, if I block his shot, like most guys, when I block their shot, they won't come back in. He'd come in every time. And he actually, I'm upset at him because he messed up history. Wow. Because the year that we were 14-1, I wanted to go 16.
Starting point is 01:08:38 I was so mad and upset I wanted to go 16-0 because there was some other stuff going on with some muddies. And I was like, okay, I'm about to show y'all that I slash we the best Laker team ever. Because I get tired of hearing that, what, the Laker team is better? So I said, I'm about to prove it to you. And like, if we would have went 16-0, we can both just say, okay,
Starting point is 01:08:56 Magic and Kareem ain't go 16-0. You know what I'm saying? Like that, so we underestimated him that first game, and I think he hit us for 51. Hit us for 51 yes for 51 the one where he stepped over Derek Fisher maybe you know we still won 51 but I wanted to go 16 and 0 AI was you will come he was still come back in. Yeah, he'd still come back in. Only little man that ever did that. Only little man that ever did that.
Starting point is 01:09:25 No Muggsy Bowles, none of them. Jordan was like that too. Yeah, Jordan was like that too. So Jordan, so I can proudly say I've only been dunked on three times in 20 years. Three times? Three times, Jordan, Derek Coleman, and a dude named Tim Perry.
Starting point is 01:09:41 I got a lot of dunk bias, but I'm talking chest to chest. Right. Any time you got posterized, this is the thing for dunkers, Shaq. I got a lot of dunk vibes, but I'm talking chest to chest. Right. Anytime you got posterized, this is thing for dunk. Yeah, I got posterized. There's a poster somewhere of Michael Jordan like that. I don't know if it's a poster, but he got me three times.
Starting point is 01:09:53 So next time he came through, I had to lay him out. But when I laid him out, I laid him out, I went to help him up. He said, don't ever help nobody up. That's what he said.
Starting point is 01:10:05 Cause you know, he's also my fraternity brother. Shout out to Omega Psi Phi Q dogs. So I laid him out, I was like, you're not dunking me again. He was like, ah, and I said, yeah, my bad dog. He was like, don't ever help nobody up. So like, he taught me a lot. And then, so we beat them. And the next year they came back and swept us us and he put his hand on my shoulder and said
Starting point is 01:10:27 Before you succeed you must first learn to fail And I don't know what that mean. I was like, so I'm all summer me and Alex riding around I'm pissed I'm like, then I finally sat down that before you Succeed you must first learn to fail and I thought about I was like, yeah You know, we had to fail a few more times and said,, you know, for us, when we get tired of failing, that's when we persevere, you know, do something else. But why do you think he told you not to give him the hand up? Because he knew I was a bad guy.
Starting point is 01:10:53 Because I was the last one to beat him. And I know people are going to say, well, he, you know, he wasn't ready when he came back in 45, but there's only one guy that sent him home in the playoffs. That's me. So, but like he knew that, he knew I was coming. And he said, but you know, the things I was going through was the things he went through playing Detroit
Starting point is 01:11:11 and you know, all the greats go through it. And I was ready, but I wasn't ready. Cause the year we made it to the finals, like, you know, we played Houston and I kind of let down. And Akeem was my, was one of my favorite guys. And you know, you're supposed to show a person that you're competing against,
Starting point is 01:11:28 you show them respect by showing them none. Show them respect by showing them none. Showing them none. But I showed them, but I showed them too much respect. And he averaged 31,
Starting point is 01:11:37 I averaged 28, but they swept us. But it also taught me a valuable lesson. If I ever get back to the finals again, I'm going to put on a performance that's so crazy that it's going to put on a performance that's so crazy that it's going to guarantee us a win. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:48 So God comes to you and says, you got one last game to play. And it's either with Kobe, LeBron, or Jordan. Kobe. Because when you have friends and you have discrepancies, but they're not really discrepancies, you should always reach out to that friend. I work.
Starting point is 01:12:17 I work 21 hours a day. And I was always the guy. Like, me and you been boys how long? 20-something years. How many times have I called you, be honest? I don't remember. None. None.
Starting point is 01:12:32 That's my point. That ain't right. At least a text, shout-out, DM, something. Yes. And it hit me hard just that year because before Kobe passed away, my sister passed away. And I was always the, I'll call her tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:12:49 Let me go about this business. I'll call you tomorrow. I'll call you tomorrow. I'll call you tomorrow. And then you wake up and they're not here. So that, and so if I could just see him one last time and we just argue, fight, play, I would love to have that. So to all the people out there, if you had discrepancy with somebody but you still love them and care about them, reach out.
Starting point is 01:13:14 You ain't got to see them, you ain't got to hug them and kiss them, but just send a text what's happening. Because what was the initial problem? There wasn't a problem at all. What started it? Was it he didn't pass the ball? Because that was the rumor, that you thought- There wasn't a problem at all. What started it? Like, was it- Not a problem. He didn't pass the ball? Because that was the rumor, that Kobe didn't pass the ball.
Starting point is 01:13:29 Yeah, just, you know, you got two guys on the same team. So it's not a problem. Like, some of my favorite stories- Involve Kobe? No, no. Some of my favorite stories to watch are, you didn't know that the Brady Bunch had beef. Right, right.
Starting point is 01:13:43 You know, stories like that. Cheers, I said, probably cheers. Yeah, yeah, cheers. I probably don't know him, but thatunch had beef. Right, right. You know, stories like that. Cheers, I said, crowd cheers. Yeah, yeah, cheers. I don't know them, but that nigga's supposed to get it on. Yeah, but the moral of the story is if you got two alpha males, you're always going to bump heads. Right. Like me and my boy, we bump heads all the time.
Starting point is 01:13:56 We've been friends for 20 years, but the respect is still there. Right. You know, but then, so that was the beginning of the internet and all that stuff, so if I say something and he say something, now everybody, ooh, they don't beginning of the internet and all that stuff. So, if I say something and he say something, now everybody, ooh, they don't like each other. It's amplified and it's all- Yeah, but no, I was in charge, right?
Starting point is 01:14:13 He had his little clicker on the team, I had my little click on my team, but the respect was always big. We ain't gotta get along. He wanna shoot, I'm saying, nah, pass me the ball. Say, no, I wanna shoot. And you know, we had our little spouse, but that's been going on since Little League.
Starting point is 01:14:27 But I always tell people, the story y'all talking about would be better if we have no championships. Damn. Like bro, we got three in a row. And I want y'all to look at this clip after the show. Yes. First championship, we win, I put my hands up, it's 30,000 motherfuckers on the floor.
Starting point is 01:14:47 Who the first dude to jump in my arms? Go. 30,000. But we got beef. Nah, we ain't got beef. We got disagreements. Right. You know, it's like, if I seen him with his family,
Starting point is 01:15:01 I ain't gonna tip a drink over. Hello, Miss Vanessa. Hi, baby. It's Uncle Shet. But, yo, you argue. I got a little brother. We argue. We fight.
Starting point is 01:15:14 You know, I got my favorite Uncle Jerome. We argue. We fight. But the respect was always there. And then when I got traded, that was a business thing. You know, you keep the old guy and you pay him money or you start all over with the new guy. And I understood it was business, so I wasn't really tripping. So a lot of people think we have problems.
Starting point is 01:15:29 We didn't. And then, again, I'm the type, I work. After I work, got to go home with the family. I ain't got time to call you anyway. But I shouldn't be like that. I should be like at least A.B. Shaw, A. Robert Ory, A. Rick Fox. But I work, and, you know, hey, B. Shaw, hey, Robert, hey, Rick Fox.
Starting point is 01:15:49 But I work, and, you know, when your friends are gone. Yeah, you take it for granted. Yeah, take it for granted, yeah. Because they don't do, like, reunions, like high school reunions. No. They don't do reunions for championship teams. No. They should.
Starting point is 01:15:58 They should. How about, like, when people get inducted into the Hall of Fame? Do they invite your old teammates? You can if you want to. So for me, it was my family, my boys, my mom, the first guy that gave me a chance when I was in Germany. So, you know, Dale Brown was in Germany. Because I left Newark.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Yeah, we left Newark and moved to Germany. It was a place called Hanau. I like Dusseldorf. Yeah, Dus called Hanau. I like Dusseldorf. Yeah, Dusseldorf. I like Dusseldorf. Frankfurt. What the fuck? He's so funny.
Starting point is 01:16:29 He likes Frankfurt. What the fuck is that? What the fuck is that? What the fuck? Take a drink for that, man. Take a drink for that, man. Take a drink. Take a drink.
Starting point is 01:16:37 Take a drink, man. What's going on? The American West with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network, hosted by me, writer and historian Dan Flores, and brought to you by Velvet Buck. This podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. Each episode, I'll be diving into some of the lesser-known histories of the West. I'll then be joined in conversation by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and best-selling author and meat-eater founder Stephen Rinella.
Starting point is 01:17:15 I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here.
Starting point is 01:17:52 Sometimes the answer is yes. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley comes a story about what happened when a multibillion-dollar company dedicated itself to one visionary mission.

It's this idea that there are so many stories out there, and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content.
Starting point is 01:20:48 The term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. We'll be right back. the fifth round. Oh, I was pissed. But he said it. That's what I'm asking. Yeah, because look, it's... and what made us great is the competition thing. I'm looking at the stats. Oh, this motherfucker got 30 and I only got 19? Fuck that. But if you got two of the best guys in the league competing with each other on the same
Starting point is 01:21:37 team, nobody can stop us. Right. And when we got to the finals, that's exactly what happened. So my thing was, if I don't get 28-15, I'm not representing Dominic Bigman. And, you know, Alex will tell you, if I come home and I got 15 points, I'm tearing my house up. Tearing my house up. Because now I got to read
Starting point is 01:21:54 Nori and my boys say Shaq ain't shit. You know what I'm saying? You know, because when you got people that love you and they keep it real, they say hurtful shit. That's the truth. But it's hurtful. Yeah, yeah. I'm man, man, Shaq. Shaq losing it, man.
Starting point is 01:22:08 Shaq used to average 28, but now he average 50. Like, if I heard Norrie say it, that would hurt me. But I'm not gonna say that to Norrie. It's not Norrie, but I heard. I'm just gonna come out and get 50 in this game. I see JZ, you see ballplayers at JZ be calling niggas they stats. No, he do.
Starting point is 01:22:20 On Thursday, I was fucked up about you. Yeah. Like, yo, home, you can't be telling niggas this. I know, he do. We at, I can fucked up about you. Like, yo, Ove, you can't be telling me this. I can't say where we at. But I'm with Jay, and the whole Golden State Warriors come through. And so I'm looking, and they all kind of like walk past me. But then they're like, we think that was Norrie with Jay.
Starting point is 01:22:43 So they all kind of like turn back around. And when they turn back around, Jay is giving all of them they stats. He's like yo bro on Thursday night. You should have passed the border And they all like almost sitting all be ready to face the movie and the next one comes down to Steve Steve he's like he's like listen. Let me just say something. No, I fuck with you and Steve cause he's up good was it a very good curve my bad he's sitting there so red in his face and Jay goes cuz when Jordan said are you gonna be ready when I see you the ball and he's like he's sitting there his face is so red fuck does Jay Z remember when he's not talking about him as a cold right he's about him playing And I'm sitting there like, oh shit, I forgot he used to play with Jordan.
Starting point is 01:23:27 And it's crazy. So yeah, people really be knowing the stats. Drunk. Yeah, he drunk. Yeah. No, hold on. He drunk with your hat on. You drunk with your hat on.
Starting point is 01:23:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't try to dance with Shaq like you good. Don't try to dance with Shaq like you good to go. Don't try to dance with Shaq like Patti LaBelle. You already went to be in his 50 guys bed. Darn, we have a great story. But where his story was I love what you're saying. He's telling them 100%. No, I kid you not. He looked at all the Golden State Warriors. They all came through and he told them, each one of them, what they did. And I'm like, how the fuck you seen the game? We were right here.
Starting point is 01:24:36 We were right here together. You want to give you the I just want it all, yeah. You want me to drink it? he wants to give you that yes you want to be nice I is a big thing and I say hey can answer come on Cuz all you New York guys is ranked ahead of me and I don't know why No, like I'll be you all you to the drivers 4429 is gonna be like number three Conrad McCray I'm like damn New York has always worked out of me It could be could a competition of the teams that play to them Yeah, you sure you didn't lose to Kenny Anderson?
Starting point is 01:25:45 I think you did lose to Kenny Anderson. Oh, yeah, I did. I sure did. Yeah, come on. I got my name on the bar. You tried to track off the left rack twice. Yeah, I did. And then Kenny Smith in the NBA finals. That's left rack twice. Ken left rack.
Starting point is 01:25:56 Shout out to left rack. Shout out to left rack. Oh, yeah. Respect. Respect. But you be bullying Kenny Smith on the show. Oh, no. Just kind of, man. I bully everybody. You bully everybody.
Starting point is 01:26:07 Like crazy things, like when Charles get me mad, like, y'all think I'll be playing for my boy's name. No, calm down, but I'm not. Then the motherfucker say one more thing, and knock his head on the floor. He's like Shaq, relax. I'm like, all right, Charles. Look, because when you be talking to the brother of Charles about the ring, I think he's not finding it funny anymore
Starting point is 01:26:25 I thought so again people believe in stats right and championships So when I say it was about the ring my question is how do you know? And that's what like, you know people have have you no problem with him? Yeah, he was a great player But how do you know if you never went to that level? Like like for example, we could tell you how to go platinum. But if you ain't never went platinum, how you going to tell me how to go platinum? You know that experience? We can tell you how to rock a crowd.
Starting point is 01:26:50 If you ain't never rock a crowd, how you going to tell us how to rock a crowd? I also heard you say one of the craziest, beautifulest things ever. You said that you wasn't the right man for your wife at that time. And I've never heard a man admit that. So a man's job is to protect, provide, and love.
Starting point is 01:27:10 Yes. Right? And then, like, what I'm about to say now is an excuse. I don't make excuses, but, you know, when you have a lot going on, it's difficult. And I didn't do what I was supposed to do. But I still love her, I still care for her, I still protect her. She's married now, and she's happy. And you want her happy. That's great. That married now she's happy that's it no yeah you got me cuz like when you say I
Starting point is 01:27:29 do it's really to make them happy and she's happy now so that that's all that matters to me really is and you're a great father man let's talk about that for a second man and you told your kids one of the beautifulest statements I've ever heard in life. You said, we not rich. I'm rich. You said, I'm rich. I'm rich.
Starting point is 01:27:54 No degrees, no cheese. That's right. Get up. Listen, Shaq, you wanna go back to college. I got someone on the line real quick I wanted to bring on. Chip Foo, first of the kids. What's up big dog? What's happening bro, how are you?
Starting point is 01:28:19 I love you brother. You know they give me my flyers, I want to give you your flyers because you're the one that's giving me my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. I want to give you my flyers. What's up, Big Dog? What's happening, bro? How are you? I love you, brother. You know, they give me my flyers. I want to give you your flyers
Starting point is 01:28:29 because you're the one that got me started in this. I appreciate you, brother. Much respect. I love you. All right, how you doing? Doing all right? Doing great. All right, hey, this dude, listen.
Starting point is 01:28:40 I used to spit a bar. He's like, no, go back in. No, go back in. No, go back in Appreciate you boy much respect. Hey Baby Shat. Baby Shat. What is that? Hold on, let me say something to him. We're going to try to reach out to you. Okay. Dave Thompson. Dom, nigga Reese. All right.
Starting point is 01:29:09 All right, cool. You want to talk to him? I just got one thing to say to you. Blasphemy. We ain't got nothing to prove. Blasphemy. We ain't got nothing to prove. Blasphemy.
Starting point is 01:29:17 We ain't got nothing. Blasphemy. Make some noise for Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Chaz. Ch we ain't got nothing to prove. And we ain't got nothing to prove.
Starting point is 01:29:26 We ain't got nothing to prove. Make some noise for Chick-fil-A. We know we need you on big time. Peace. Peace. So, like, when I hit one of my friends, I said, I got Shaq on. He said, yo, I was with Nichols one day from Far Rock
Starting point is 01:29:42 and he brought him to TNT. Nichols asked him some NFC, and he brought him to TNT. Nichols asked him some NFC questions. He made a call. Nichols was meeting with K Slade that same week. Word is bomb. And there's so many stories like that of you, like, walking in malls, and you're going to basketball camps. I remember, I think it was Kenny Smith, basketball camp or something.
Starting point is 01:30:00 You went and just brought all the kids sneakers. And show love. And show love. How do you develop that attitude, and why do you do that? Because everybody eats. If I see a Hispanic rapper that want to get in the business, I'm going to have them call you too. And we give them the Acalina 88.
Starting point is 01:30:17 No, do it again. Say it again. Acalina 88. Because they, whoever they are, they stick together. The haters. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
Starting point is 01:30:29 I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie.
Starting point is 01:30:37 I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not take money from strangers I don't want kids I mean cuz I mean that's what those
Starting point is 01:30:51 people do right you know that's the part of police I work I work internet crimes against children you know always tell kids they don't let people just come and offer you money and that's a good police officer. That is a good police officer. They're all good police officers, stop it. Most of them. Most of them. Oh, that's it. That's it. Okay, but hold on. But hold on.
Starting point is 01:31:11 So, my thing is, because I'm trying to bring police and the community back, I always tell people, I say, let's not get sidetracked, because if one rapper does something crazy, they look at everybody crazy. Doesn't mean all rappers are crazy. That's what I'm saying. If one one rapper does something crazy they look at everybody crazy that's what I'm saying if one basketball player does something crazy so you know I think you know the individuals that do break the law should be handled but you know like I deal with a lot of
Starting point is 01:31:36 sheriffs and a lot of teach I mean a lot of sheriffs and a lot of chiefs they really do teach the right thing but every now and then you get somebody that gets out of line so the ones that get out of line they should be the thin blue get somebody that gets out a lot So the ones that get out a lot But it's the thin blue line thing that that's the problem Because the good ones won't do anything so so so um Tomorrow we're supposed to uh, oh this week we're supposed to have derrick jeter So I went and I looked at derrick jeter's documentary and one thing about derrick jeter's documentary
Starting point is 01:32:02 Was that was unanimous? was um it pointed out the fact that the racial issues that he was addressing. And then it made me think about Jordan and Jordan never really addressing racial issues until George Floyd. And then, you know, everyone actually, who we actually wanted to say things back in the days, actually stepped up from Derek Jeter to Jordan. I'm more of a do than say. Yeah, okay. I like the action.
Starting point is 01:32:37 Yeah, I like the action. If something goes down, I have the power and ability to go to the police station and be like, what was that about? What was this about? So, you know, like, you was that about? What was this about? So, you know, like, you know, my thing is, if you haven't been doing it, don't start grabbing your phone and doing it now
Starting point is 01:32:51 if you don't mean it. Right. So like, I'm more of a doer. I don't call and say, hey man, somebody need to go buy those kids toys. I go do it myself. I don't call them people and say, hey man, somebody need to go into that hood
Starting point is 01:33:04 and tell them boys to stop shooting. I go by myself. Like, y'all need to cut that out. They watching y'all. Y'all over here tripping. What are y'all doing? Do it, you know, I've done it in every city that I've lived in.
Starting point is 01:33:16 I respect the guys that speak out, but I'm more of a doer. That's a beautiful thing. No, you always been about that life. Right. Bro, he's always been about that life. Good. Bro, Shaq is always sticking. Hold on, I might slur a little bit. A little bit?
Starting point is 01:33:31 What the fuck? Shaq, you say it. I just wanna say that. Yeah, what did you give my friend? Say it. We love this. We love this. We're his number-loving-
Starting point is 01:33:40 He wants to be your spokesperson after this, by the way. Shaq is always here. I got him. On that part that he was just sitting there. I'm agreeing with him. Yes, we agree with him too, sir. But all right, so now you had this luxurious deal with Reebok, right? There's a rumor that you said that these sneakers are too expensive.
Starting point is 01:33:59 No, I didn't say that. I was leaving the practice one day and this lady with her baby, shak, shak, shak, shak, shak, shak. But the mama wasn't smiling. And she's like, and she went off, you mother, just crying about the price. And I stopped, and I thought about it, I was like, she right.
Starting point is 01:34:16 She right. Was it the pump Reeboks, or? Yeah, all of them. They were like two something. Like, almost 300. Cause everybody trying to compete with Mike. That was the business. So I'm sitting there, I was like, something. Almost 300. Because everybody was trying to compete with Mike. That was the business. I'm sitting there, I was like, yeah, she right.
Starting point is 01:34:29 And then I called Reebok and said, I'm going to start my own brand. And then we did a deal with Walmart. Because the first year, Reebok was actually making those sneakers for you, right? Yeah, yeah. But then I had something carved out where I could do my own thing on the side.
Starting point is 01:34:44 So we started the Dunk Man. Yeah, Dunk Man. Yeah, the Dunk Man. You were like this. That's me. The beat in the air, like you said. So you know where I got that from, right? Jordan, right?
Starting point is 01:34:54 Yeah, Jordan did the Jump Man because that's how he dunked. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to do Dunk Man. It's working. It's working. Yeah, it's working. So since 95, we did that. We probably sold over about 400 million pairs.
Starting point is 01:35:04 That's awesome. Excuse me. What probably sold over about 400 million bears What you said? Down to 15 bucks right now no 39 and below so so we're where we come from It's not that we don't like cheap stuff. We don't like stuff that look cheap, right? So I guess so I get designers and to be straight you created a business I'm sure, you will answer this, that you still made money selling it at a lower price. So if you invest in things that are going to change people's lives, you always get the return on your money.
Starting point is 01:35:35 For me, that wasn't a money thing. To me, that was more of a statement thing. Big-time guys can be down here with us too. Because sometimes when we get big-time, we want to go upstairs. So Walmart and Target, those are considered the downstairs market so I wanted to just you know. Yeah Target too I thought it was just Walmart. Yeah Walmart no all over Walmart, Target. All the big box stores. Target sell cakes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I wanted. I don't go on that section. Shaxx have you sold more Shacks than Jordans? No, not even close.
Starting point is 01:36:08 No, Jordan is the god of selling juice. That's why he's a billionaire. But, you know, again, that play was about taking care of the babies. Because I remember when Jordans first came out, I cut grass, walked dogs, washed dishes, tried to get a job at McDonald's. And then by the time I could get to $200, the 13s, I was size 15. I still put them on anyway. Some people died over Jordans. Yeah, you know, I put them on anyway.
Starting point is 01:36:36 And that's why my toes messed up now. So that's funny to hear you say that because then you had to face this guy. How was that? So first time I played him, I was terrified. Was he nice to you? That's your idol? No, it's just Jordan, bro. That's what it was.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Like, high school and college never got dunked on, but I was like, this dude could probably dunk on me right now. But, but, so when he first came and did a little stutter move and he shot a shot, I was right there. So now it's like,
Starting point is 01:37:10 uh-oh. Like, because I was like, he's a god, but I'm like, I'm close to the god. So after I got almost blocked his shot, all that went away. The humanizer? Yes, the humanizer. And then, you know, same thing with Ewan.
Starting point is 01:37:26 Like in the Garden, you know you got to show up in the Garden. So, you know, when I get to the Garden, it's like, Nice to meet you, Mr. Ewan. Put your hand up. Nice to meet you, Mr. Ewan. And Pat, no, no. We go like this, and Pat did it right there. Shut your ass up, rookie. Oh, wow. Hey, that's my next question.
Starting point is 01:37:42 So now I'm like, you know you done fucked up, right? So now, because I was like, man, it's Pat. But then when he did that, I'm like, bro, he trying to punk me in front of my family right now? Bro, I know we in New York, but Jersey right over there too. I said, okay. And then, you know, same thing with him. So, you know, first game, he got me. But, like, you know, on that turnaround, I'm right there.
Starting point is 01:38:04 I said, okay, I'm going to go home and watch this tape and see what I got to do. The next game we played, I blocked his turnaround. Once I blocked his turnaround, I knew I had him. That's funny because that was my very next question was, everyone tells these stories. You have the NBA players on here. They tell these stories about rookie hazing. I don't get hazed.
Starting point is 01:38:24 I can't imagine someone trying to handle it. I can't imagine someone trying to handle- I can't imagine someone hazing anybody. That's what I'm saying. I can't fucking handle hazing. I'm gonna ask, because every other- Shout out to Scott Skiles. He's like, carry my bags, rookie. I said, I'm not a rookie, I'm the franchise.
Starting point is 01:38:40 Was Dennis Scott on the team when you went to Atlanta? Yeah, he's my boy. Dennis was so like, you know, Dennis was like, you know, just- Cuz his rumors are like people making people pay for dinners. Nah, I ain't do none of that. You ain't do none of that? No, man, I'm Diesel. So,
Starting point is 01:38:54 D Scott would say, hey man, just carry the bags cuz we, you know, just play the game. I said, I'll play the game with you, but I ain't carrying, I'm not no bag carrier. Cuz you know, my thing is, make me carry your bags. You whoop my ass, I'll carry your bags. So I'm like the big guy with a big guy mentality. I know you can probably fight, but in my mind, I'm not gonna let no little guy. So everybody little to me, they just like,
Starting point is 01:39:15 I ain't carrying no bags. So, you know, once I start playing and you know, everything start coming, then they show me a little more respect, but nah, I didn't get hazed. You didn't get hazed at all? Nah, never. But you saw it though, you saw people get hazed. I don't know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 01:39:29 That's real. Is there anybody in the WNBA that could beat Shaq Diesel on 101 right now? No, never. Right now? No. Sheryl Swoopes can't? No. He can't?
Starting point is 01:39:40 He's taking a shot to that. No, man. No, man. No. No. Since Norrie brought up WNBA, what do you have to say about Brittany Grant and what she's going through? I smoked Mad Ween in Russia.
Starting point is 01:39:54 Just throw that out there. Me. I was there with you. It's unfortunate. They're doing it to the U.S. to make a thing for the U.S. It happened around the same time. It's unfortunate, and I wish Mr the U.S. to make a thing for the U.S. It happened around the same time. It's unfortunate, and I wish Mr. Biden would do a little more to get her out.
Starting point is 01:40:11 That's all I can say on that. I have a solution for the WNBA. So I don't know if you know, in males beach volleyball and women's beach volleyball, the net has lowered just a little bit. That's why It's lowered so only thing missing from WNBA didn't deducted NBA game is the dunk So much I'm not saying lower to nine feet. They just so they can dunk so they can dunk That's what I'ma show this few that don't But I think more of that. Not, just a little bit.
Starting point is 01:40:46 So I think if they did that, it would make the game more exciting. Because, look, they got the handles. They got the shooters. They got the showmanship. They just don't have the dunk. And so just imagine that. So if you lower the rim just a little bit. So you're dunking, man.
Starting point is 01:41:00 Yeah, well, no, you're right. Yeah, you're right about that. Just for me, for real? Yeah. Those are golden plated roses for real. Why wasn't you on the 92 dream team? There was rumors that you was down with Pepsi and it was a Coca-Cola team. No, so Christian Laettner, he had a better college career than me. He won that previous year.
Starting point is 01:41:20 Yeah, because they won championships. That's the dude from Duke, right? Yeah, he wasn't the best player coming out's the dude from Duke, right? Yeah, that boy. He wasn't the best player coming out of college. No, he was on the team. But he had a better career. And, again, sometimes you have to sit down and just be honest. I'm the best player.
Starting point is 01:41:36 I should be on the team. But then I don't want to be on the team anyway if I ain't going to play. Right? So he had a better career. So I said, okay, but you still keep it here, and it just drives you. So now I have to ensure that I'm the first pick. So I was just doing a lot. So I went that whole summer and just played with Magic Johnson and just learned the NBA game.
Starting point is 01:41:59 Because it's a different game. It really is. When you seen that clip with MJ and Magic Johnson, MJ said, get your sneakers, let's do it right now. I felt like y'all niggas never leave the game. No, we don't. I was like, yo, I looked. And that's why when we criticize these young players, we always got a, well, I would have did this,
Starting point is 01:42:17 and I would have did that. That's right. It's just what we do. Like, I wish I was playing now. Shout out to LeBron. He just shined that two-year 97 extension. Dame got two years, 120. Oh, man, I wish I was playing right now. And that keeps me young.
Starting point is 01:42:32 But you say you don't miss it, though. I don't miss it, but I wish I was playing, bro. At that level, at that level. Playing period, playing period. I mean, because this is how I always did my contract. If you're averaging less than me and doing less than me, but you're getting paid more than me, that was perfect. Right. I mean, because this is how I always did my contract. If you're averaging less than me and doing less than me, but you're getting paid more than me, that was perfect.
Starting point is 01:42:51 I was like, oh, he got this? So now I'm going, like, yo, if you paid him this, what you going to get me? So with me being Shaq, I'm not saying I'm better than those guys, but with me being Shaq, if you're getting 120 and you're getting 99, I'm going to be up there, too, for two years. The most most I made was 120 for seven which was a lot of money at the time but 120 for two He got the platinum the check for the record label. I was like, really?
Starting point is 01:43:26 Oh, bro, I was mad. He said, let's go to dinner. I was mad. Oh, I was so mad. You better ask some intelligent shit, because you're embarrassing us right now. No, you're not. Let's sit and live. Better redeem yourself.
Starting point is 01:43:34 I want to talk about the year, because we're getting to Miami. Right, right. Yeah, they're trying to just- Yep. I want to talk about the year, because we're getting to Miami. Right, right. Yeah, they're trying to just- Yep.
Starting point is 01:43:42 I want to talk about the year, because we're getting to Miami. Right, right. Yeah, they're trying to just- Yep. I want to talk about the year. Because when you get to Miami. Right, right. Yeah, they're trying to just. Yep. Miami didn't know we could get Shaq.
Starting point is 01:43:55 We didn't? And we got him. And it was Shaq D-Wade. So that was an accident. And we won. Yo, that was a great year. But you came with that 18th for Will down at this camp bou. Yo, that was a great year. But you came with that 18 foot wheel down at this camp boulevard. That was a great year.
Starting point is 01:44:08 There's a lot of stuff that happened. Alright. I wanna talk about that year. So that was an accident because after we lost. How was it an accident? I heard you say that before. Because we, even though me and Kobe had our problems, we gonna be forever. I ain't leaving you, you ain't leaving me.
Starting point is 01:44:24 But then my contract is coming up got to pay me and then business-wise you're good Shaq but in four years you're gonna be 35 36 do we want to pay that much which is understandable. This is the Boss family? Yeah the Boss family which is understandable like one thing I understand is business and growing up in the military I'm used to moving every four years in there. So you didn't take it personally? No, never. You can't. Business. So then, after we lose, I don't even get a day to rest. I'm eating cereal with my son, and I'm watching ESPN because I want to hear what people are saying about me
Starting point is 01:44:56 so I can add to what I've got to do this summer. Shaq ain't shit. Shaq is just... You're watching cold pizza on YouTube. Yeah, I'm watching, yeah. So then I said, Shaq, the Lakers will take, will listen for trades with Shaq. So I'm like, so now I'm mad because at least give me the respect and call me and say, hey, you know, we want to change now.
Starting point is 01:45:20 We want to give it to you. But they didn't call me. So now I'm mad. So I called them and said, okay. Because I couldn't do it by myself. I always, I got to have. Winning, winning. Yeah, like I got to have somebody with me.
Starting point is 01:45:34 I learned that with Penny. I learned that with Penny. It was my first guy that I was mad, but couldn't do it. So I needed another guy. So I remember watching playoffs, and I remember D-Wade giving it to Baron Davis. And Baron Davis is my guy. But this D-Wade giving it to Baron Davis. And Baron Davis is my guy. But this D-Wade cat down in Miami, he's a killer.
Starting point is 01:45:50 But he ain't got nobody with him. So now I'm saying, okay, if y'all going to move me, that's where I'm going. Y'all just ain't going to send me where I want to go. I'm going here. And then they say that Pat Riley was in the office talking to the Lakers before that. I don't know if he was trying to get the job or trying to get back to the Lakers, but they say he was there. So they said after he left, they gave him a call and said, hey, we want to move Shaq,
Starting point is 01:46:10 and he wants to come down there. So they did the deal, and I was down there. But I saw in him a mixture of Penny and Kobe in D-Wade. So when I got down here, first conversation we had, all that stuff you heard about that, forget it. This is your team. You're the man. That's what I told D-Wade. Oh, you said this. about that forget it. This your team you the man Because my thing is I always got to be in charge and some people don't like that But I don't give a shit. I don't like it. It's mine, right? So with him I'm older. I said it's your team though
Starting point is 01:46:49 Yeah, I'm gonna show you how to win. I'll show you how to get certain thing, but this your team you need me I'll be right there. So so it wouldn't be no because it was already his team I didn't want to just come take it over. You don't really know me like that some shit team You the man you wanted to you without you speaking to him. No when I'm here with me on the beach. He came. Would that be so wild? Huh? No, we met at a mansion. The Z-Wheels. Mansion. Club mansion.
Starting point is 01:47:09 That's trip-hop. No, come mansion. Mansion. Man, you said mansion. I'm gonna track you out of control. This is the princess club of Florida. This is the glass lab. So we sitting there and I told him, I said, yo, man, this your team?
Starting point is 01:47:17 Yeah. And I come to win. I said, yo, man, this your team? Yeah. And I said, yo, man, this your team? Yeah. And I said, yo, man, this your team? Yeah. And I said, yo, man, this your team? told him, I said, yo, man, this your team?
Starting point is 01:47:28 And I come to win. Because, you know, and also criticism motivates me. You had three rings at that time. Yeah, three. But, you know, criticism motivates me. Oh, he left Shaq. He ain't going to win again. Like, I need that.
Starting point is 01:47:40 I don't get soft and get bitter and respond back. I'm like, okay. You want to do more. Yeah, I want to do more. And you knew it was going to happen. You knew it was going to happen. I knew it, yeah. We actually could have won the year before that, but I had a thigh injury. And, you know, we lost to Detroit in game seven.
Starting point is 01:47:54 But I actually could have got two. Now, you have one of the most liveliest, craziest performances I've ever seen. You perform it, and then you just start just start going Kobe tell me how my ass tastes I said wait a minute. That was a freestyle Different between a rapper and the MC MC in that I'm seeing And I was at a comedy club Okay, people expect that and he was laughing everybody had a comedy club. Okay, and people expect that from you. And people was laughing.
Starting point is 01:48:25 Everybody had a good time. That was viral for viral back then. Yeah, it was viral. It wasn't the word for viral back then, but niggas said, Kobe, Shaq, ass Kobe, how's the ass taste? Niggas said, it's viral, it's viral. Yeah, but again, when you cut it up and put it out. Right, right, the clickbait.
Starting point is 01:48:38 It was, hey, freestyle. Again, and the crazy thing is, the reason why he didn't get mad, because that's the same stuff we used to do on the bus Right bars. We used to have battles on the bus But you know like when you have people who think they know it all they get in your bit Who they know cuz I'm not gonna get in trouble Right, I'll go get in trouble. What's going on? I'm gonna get a spanking spank me though though you never worry about what other people think.
Starting point is 01:49:28 I'm just saying, I believe it right. Right. Shaq, you want to have a great sense of humor. Yes. So how do you go about doing the Shaq roasting comedy or the Shaq and the Fool? Like, how did that go together? So Shaq and the Fool is we want to, we want to replace the word bloopers.
Starting point is 01:49:44 Bloopers. Yeah, because remember back in the day, everything was blooper, oh yeah, bloopers. We want to replace the word bloopers. Bloopers. Because remember back in the day, everything was bloopers. Oh, yeah, bloopers. We want to get rid of that word and call everything Shack and the Fool. And it's just, look, to make people laugh. Our show is also successful because they allow us to use humor. We all know sports. We all know stats. But you guys, you got to work in the morning.
Starting point is 01:50:02 So we're going to keep you up late. We want you to enjoy what you're watching. We don't want you just sitting there going like this mad cause you saw a crappy game. We want you to see a crappy game and to see us. Release that energy. Sleep with your wife and you wake up and have a great day. We wanna help people have a great day.
Starting point is 01:50:19 What was the other question you asked me? No, the second floor shower, the room. You know what I'm lookin' like, you know. You know how I feel. The time you're in is how you do it. Very cool full show, the real show. You know what I'm looking like, you know? You know how I feel. So when I was watching Def Comedy Jam, so comedy and music calms me. I'm going to go crazy. So if I can laugh, I'm good.
Starting point is 01:50:38 If I can listen to a song, I'm good. So when they stopped that, I saw an opportunity to do it. And we did it, and it took off for off a while I'm thinking about bringing it back We need to laugh, so much tragedy happened with the girls. We need to laugh. Me too. We just had Dave Chappelle on, it's gonna be released soon but I remember I was having like a slight disagreement because he's saying you know it was it was like a mass shooting that happened. It was like, you know, I don't want to be celebrating while a mass shooting has happened.
Starting point is 01:51:08 And I felt the exact opposite. I was like, you know, I feel your pain. But, you know, us in the PJs, when someone gets shot, we don't stay home. We come outside the next day and still play double dutch. We come outside the next day and still play 21. And I'm not trying to be insensitive to what's happening, but I'm also trying to tell you that's just the reality of what happens.
Starting point is 01:51:30 Where we're from, yeah. We are so already hurt that a little bit of hurt ain't gonna stop us from- And even the country as a whole- You can't take my soul. You can't bring my soul like that. That's some rap, that's some rap. Human can't break my soul. Like, that's it. That's it. That's some black, human, poor, like, no matter what.
Starting point is 01:51:49 Like, you know, that's where chitlins came from. Chitlins and collard greens and all this shit came from is because we had the worst of the worst and the less of the less, and we made the best of the best of it. And I always feel like that. And also in this world, we need to value the word respect more Because again you and I've got different opinions that don't mean y'all got to be enemies
Starting point is 01:52:11 So a lot of time what Goes somewhere don't need to go so I'm big on respect like you always have to agree with me So I'm not the smartest guy. I'm not always right, but if you do disagree with me I ain't gonna try and fight you just everything's worth going that level That's what I'm saying. Yes. I mean, but now is it just you know going crazy? We seen a clip the other day, right? Dennis Rodman father in Alonzo morning. I thought it's the funniest shit in the world. He used to do that Also morning bit down. Dennis Rodman would like to.
Starting point is 01:52:46 All right. I have a question. Shaq, Kobe, and Dennis Rodman on the same team, who's the biggest superstar? You can say that. You ain't going to hurt my feelings. Just say who you think. Biggest superstar?
Starting point is 01:52:59 Shaq. Yeah, on their team. Shaq. It's got to be Shaq. I'm going to say Dennis Rodman. He's the more colorful distraction. No. That's what it is.
Starting point is 01:53:05 When he played with us, I seen this dude play a full game, don't take a shower, go to the club, and some of the baddest women I've ever seen in my life. And they all go to his section. No, no, no. I'm not gonna get away with that. Did you say he not took a shower? Did not take a shower.
Starting point is 01:53:22 Okay, so he just finished the game, just put on his gift. This was his routine. He smell like Medusi, you said? This was his routine. You can't bring yourself. You can't bring yourself. That's up, man. This is a routine.
Starting point is 01:53:33 So game at 7.30, we gotta be there at 6. He come in at 6.45 late for the meeting, eating chicken and rice. Yeah. Right, take a cold shower while we talking. Talking about going over game plan. Then come out and play. After the game, put his stuff on, go to the club,
Starting point is 01:53:50 and the baddies come out. I'm talking about actually, like, I ain't never, listen, I'm the Shaq. I brought him out too. I ain't never seen nothing like this.
Starting point is 01:53:58 And this was like after every home game. It was the craziest day I ever seen in my life. That's awesome. And you got me and Cole on the same team with him, but yeah,
Starting point is 01:54:04 he has the correct answer. I ain't never seen nothing like seen in my life. That was awesome. And you got me and Kobe on the same team with him, but yeah, he has the correct answer. I ain't never seen nothing like that in my life. I'm talking mad. We need Dennis Rodman. Yeah, yeah. How's your, I want to connect it to a Dennis Rodman thing, but after the game, You got a P?
Starting point is 01:54:19 You said that you didn't practice because you- Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, God damn. Smiley Pippen. Try this for you. Oh, fuck! That's what I'm talking about! Goddamn! Snotty Pippin. That's what I'm talking about! That's what I'm talking about! Shit. Snotty Pippin.
Starting point is 01:54:31 That's what I'm talking about! What's the look? I need to go. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah, I know. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
Starting point is 01:54:39 What the fuck, yo? Fuck! What the fuck are you doing? That's a Shaggy the Fool right there. That's Shag in the pool. That's Shag in the pool. Send me that shit. Send me the man. You said Dennis Brock.
Starting point is 01:54:54 And you started going there. I just, I just, I just. Sorry. You paid me for it. But, but, but Shag. Shag. You said that when you was, you didn't practice. But, but, but, you said that when you was, you didn't practice because you knew what the mission was.
Starting point is 01:55:08 Right. But after the game, how was your ethic after the game? And I say that because I finished the Kevin Garnett book. He made a comment that he played against Dennis hard. The game was hard.
Starting point is 01:55:20 And then Dennis went and ran five miles after the game. Like, what kind of monster is that? That's true. That is a machine. But after the game, I had to go home. I got kids. We got family.
Starting point is 01:55:31 And plus, I used to get beat up. So I didn't go home and chill and watch a movie so I could recuperate for the next day. But, you know, everybody's different. Everybody prepares their own way. But after I gave you my two and a half hours, I got to take care of reality. So I got a wife. I got kids, I got mom and dad, all my boys in the game, we go eat. But yeah, that's true, he used to do stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:55:52 After the game, run five miles. That's true. And ten boots. And ten boots. That's what KG is. Yeah, that's true. And then go to the club. Did they ever get high in the locker room?
Starting point is 01:56:01 You know, I don't know what you're talking about. We ain't snitch champs. Yeah, I don't know. Hey're talking about. We ate Smith's champs. Yeah, I don't know. I got that out, man. Who was on there? Who was on there to say he smoked the whole time? Matt Morris. Matt Morris.
Starting point is 01:56:17 Before he started his walk, he was on here. And Matt is my guy, but I've never seen Matt do that, so I don't. But you know, weed is legal, though. I ain't talking about weed. This is medicine. I mean, this is a cigarette, but I've never seen Matt do that, so I don't. But you know, weed is legal though. I ain't talking about weed, this is medicine. I mean, this is a cigarette, but I'm saying, the actual matter of who marijuana is. No, you're different, because- I got a license to burn marijuana.
Starting point is 01:56:36 Let me see it. Yeah, here's our guy, to burn marijuana. Let me see. This one. He got the handcuffs. He got the handcuffs. He got the handcuffs. He got the handcuffs. You got a 5952. 224 East 23rd Street.
Starting point is 01:56:56 Because at first, everyone thought she was a firefighter. You didn't do that? No, man. No. Sheriff. I swear to God, he did that too. Yeah, no Doctor yes, I have a PhD you it but not a doctor medical doctor. No
Starting point is 01:57:25 Rock after she's doing like the day like, you know,. What did you get your doctorate in? Education. Yeah, here, South Florida. And I also did that for the kids. Let me ask you something. Why doesn't so many players, it's like so much of a rumor that when players finish, that they go back broke. That's true. Like you see Delonte West, right? 65%. The Latte West, right? 65%. And we see this, and I'm going to be honest, when I see the footage, I was saying to myself, I hope that's not him.
Starting point is 01:57:51 I hope this is a rumor. And then I'm speaking to, because, you know, obviously, like you said, music and sports go together. I'm speaking to a lot of my NBA friends, and they're like, that's 90% of us. It's like almost 70% of us. 80%. Because it's easy to do. Because you spend your money, you get used to the spending habits?
Starting point is 01:58:08 No, because the first word you need to understand is FICA, and you don't. So, like for FICA. It's on the paycheck. It's on the paycheck. So, if you're doing a $100 million contract, depending on what state you live in, you ain't getting $100 million. Correct. But you spend like you got $100 million million and that'd be the problem right so so now
Starting point is 01:58:28 you got to cut that in half that's it let's just go California so when I live in California like I said it's not even California and signed that 120 for set seven my first year check was 20 million when I got it I said 10 9 the first check that you're supposed to receive is 20 million, but it said 10-9. Yeah, FICA, states, all the taxes. But I didn't realize that. So I went and bought a house for 5 million. I'm in a Rolls Royce joint, me and my boy Alex.
Starting point is 01:58:57 Tyson in there, he bought two. So I come in the next day, and I got on Laker sweats, me and my boy Alex, we looking around. I'm'm looking like a bum I don't like to wait I like to spend my life I don't like to waste money so I don't want to spend $400 for car so I'm like hey man how much is this now how much this one so finally the old guy says yo man you asked about all these cars can you afford them now I'm pissed I said what the fuck you just said me so i bought three that one that one and that and i want them dropped off move the seat back today i want them dropped so i got three roy's roasters that never drive
Starting point is 01:59:34 so they go another million that's six i'm trying to be a rapper trying to produce my own videos i you know i got to pay eric sermon all the boys they go another man that's seven gotta fly the central page and get on the boat and all that. So I spent my, I spent that 10 million probably in three months, the whole summer. And then my guy called me and said, you know, you spend your whole check. I had money. I had other money.
Starting point is 01:59:55 But he says, you know, you spend your whole check. Let's just make noise for you spending 10 million. Man. Oh my God. I did not make noise for that. I'm going to get off. That's a creep. It's a learning loss. It's a learning lesson.
Starting point is 02:00:05 It's a learning lesson. So I was like, what do you mean? He said, that Birdman? No. That's my big Sal. Oh, what's up, big Sal? I thought you was Birdman. Big old shit.
Starting point is 02:00:17 Sal, he thought you was Birdman. What's up, big dog? He thought you was Birdman. What's his name? Sal O'Neal, my good. Yeah, so I... Like, I was still paying... I still had a lot of money.
Starting point is 02:00:27 I was paying attention, but I was like, okay, now I need to really... And then I was getting married at the time. I was like, now I really need to start paying attention. It ain't about me no more. It's about these babies.
Starting point is 02:00:35 But yeah, that's true. 65% of the guys... So what was the difference for you? What changed for you? Did you get a... Did you have the right team around you that helped you invest properly? It's not about the team.
Starting point is 02:00:47 It's about you have to have discipline and everything has to be structured. So I don't have boys. My boys work for me. We get money together. Instead of me giving you $100,000, we could start a company and we could do certain things.
Starting point is 02:01:02 You could bring it in that way. So put them on salary. Like, start a company, put them on salary, write that off, get some of that back rather than just giving them money. And, you know, just making the proper investments. I heard Jeff Bezos say if you invest in things, it's going to change people's lives. If you invest in things? That's going to change people's lives. You will always get the proper return on your money.
Starting point is 02:01:22 That's why I did the Shack Shoe deal. That's why I did the Ring Camera deal. The money. That's why I did the Shaq shoe deal. That's why I did the Ring camera deal. Ring, the Ring. That's why I did Papa John's. Like, listen, everybody... Everybody love pizza. Look at this nigga. This nigga don't even know how to walk.
Starting point is 02:01:40 He's, what do you mean? He's skating over there. It's classic. No, no, because you know why? We get to see people like you, Nas, and Jay-Z live a luxurious life after the sport, after the game. And it's all being like right investments. That's where I get it from. You get it from? What is that?
Starting point is 02:02:02 Watching them. Why? Wow, that's him. Like you, Birdman doing this? You get it, bro. What'd you say? Watching them. Why? Wow, that's him. Like you, Birdman. What? Dre. Right. I saw Jay-Z at the Golden State game,
Starting point is 02:02:14 and we just started giggling, because he's still doing it, I'm still doing it, bro. So he's like, man. So I told him, I said, man, much respect. You're doing a big thing. He's like, nah, much respect to you. Like, I watch Puffy. Like, it's a respect, but it's a big thing like not much respect for you like i watch puffy like it's
Starting point is 02:02:30 it's a respect but it's a competition thing and when i i could be i could be jealous without what without hating yeah yeah yeah right so i'm like damn puff got his own liquor there about to give me a deal like so so it's also competition it's what drives me and i heard snoop say he said man y'all i'm chasing diesel no i he said, man, y'all, I'm chasing Diesel. No, I'm chasing Snoop. Snoop doing a big thing. I'm chasing Jay-Z. I'm chasing, like,
Starting point is 02:02:50 when Jay-Z started investing and Nas started investing with those firms. Who are those firms? Yeah, with those firms. Instead of hating about all that, now you just learn. So,
Starting point is 02:02:59 I'm happy that we're all still doing it. And there needs to be a documentary about that. Like, the guys who started here and, like, we're still doing it. Everybody there needs to be a documentary about that. Like, the guys who started here, and, like, we're still doing it. Everybody elevating each other.
Starting point is 02:03:08 So break it down how it goes for every basketball player or every ex-baseball player or every ex-football player or every ex-rapper, every ex-DJ that, you know what, you feel like it's time to move on and go into this other life.
Starting point is 02:03:24 Because, you know, I was speaking to Busta Rhymes the other day, and Busta was telling me, he's like, man... And y'all need to give him his respect, too. Busta crazy. Busta's one of the best ever. Busta crazy.
Starting point is 02:03:32 And Busta kept saying to me, he's like, man, it's time for me to have this other investment that has nothing to do with music. Yeah. And I didn't kind of, like, realize what he was saying, but basically what he's saying is, like, I need another life But how does this happen?
Starting point is 02:03:49 For you like is this this happening because you spent that 10 million in three months and then you started to say that my best Oh, it was just opportunities that presented itself a little bit of both, but yeah, but you but you have to make it happen It's not gonna happen. You have to make it happen, right? You know for you know, the good thing about athletes and rappers is we all know how to be spontaneous. Right. Like, we can go. We can switch it up. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
Starting point is 02:04:13 Like, everything I'm doing is, like, quick thinking. Right. Like, I thought I was going to make that basketball money forever. But then when I realized you're getting older, at 28 coming down to 22, and at 22 coming down to 14 time to start doing other things I mean and you JC did what Nas did what Puffy sold his company for it so like you start you know you get inspiration from other people and and all you guys give me inspiration like you you persevere like you kind of I don't want to say disappear but you was you was from the fat yeah man you know raising the kids and all that and then you popped up doing this thing. Yeah, you're back on top. That's right
Starting point is 02:04:52 Let me ask you what would be your advice though to the average person that isn't a ballplayer isn't in the music industry to me Would be advice to me So I would say educate yourself now when I I say educate yourself, it ain't about going to school, getting a degree. Because I learned about business not from college. I learned about business from a book called The Dummy's Guide to Starting Your Own Business. And the first thing I did was incorporate my family. First thing I did is take the cell phones out the personal name, put them in the business name so we can get some of that money back. And then you learned along the way. So just like whatever you want to do, educate yourself. And now,
Starting point is 02:05:26 let me tell you something, if I was 14, 15 now, I'd be a genius. Because you know why? Because information is so available. It's so available. How to be a DJ.
Starting point is 02:05:35 Like the current thing, I had to have one of my homies teach it. Now you can go online. Oh yeah. The best DJs have tutorials. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:05:43 So now, you can go to Google and be, how do I want to? So my advice is, whatever you want to be, educate yourself on how you can do it, and then just go for it. You literally have virtual mentors. Yes. We had to try to find a physical mentor. Yes. What's the name of that book you said?
Starting point is 02:05:59 Dummy's Guide to Starting Your Own Business. Wow. And what business you started after we just- So first thing I did was incorporate Shaq. Wow. Yeah. Incorporate Shaq. LLC, when you say incorporate.
Starting point is 02:06:11 Yeah, LLC. And then I put my mom on salary and put my dad on salary. And it helps with the taxes, right. And, you know, we had a fan club. You know, I got him an office and got him a car. And I was so proud because the best day of my life was when I got drafted you know my parents like graduation love you cuz you know my dad hardcore see you later don't lose your mother like he wanted to stay on army base like nah come with me man nope how much you make it army only make
Starting point is 02:06:37 six ago now you make a half a million a year what you start crying mom how much you wanna make you make 750 and put them on like and will payroll yes and and a year. What? You start crying. Mom, how much you want to make? You make $750 a year. We put them on like... Real payroll. Yes, and also had to teach them the business. I'm not going to give a teacher... Yeah, because they get suspended and fuck it up too. Right, no, but it's helping him on the tax side. You know what that's going to have for me? You going to give me half a million? Like,
Starting point is 02:06:57 no, I'm going to break it down into 12 every month and give you a buck, but yeah. But who told you that? Your accountant? The buck, man. Oh, the buck. Yeah, the buck. Okay, okay. The buck. Because instead of giving accountant? The book, man. Oh, the book. Yeah, the book. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 02:07:07 You did say that. Yeah, the book. Because instead of giving it to the IRS, you're giving it to your family and you can write it off. Right. That's fucking genius. Right. That's fucking genius.
Starting point is 02:07:15 So where do you... How many clubs do you own in Vegas? I own seven restaurants. Jesus. Not clubs? And one club. One club? Yeah. What club? Yeah. What club is called?
Starting point is 02:07:26 It's called Chateau. Chateau. I used to own the biggest club in Vegas. It was called Pure. But that was a long, long time ago. And you live in Vegas? Why are you invested in Vegas? It's because everybody.
Starting point is 02:07:34 I live everywhere, brother. I'm telling you, you live in Miami still. I do. You live in Davie. You live in Michael Vitt. I didn't know that you shot your show here. Oh, yeah. This is the main show.
Starting point is 02:07:42 I'm telling you, I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I'm the main show. I didn't know that you shot your show here. Oh yeah, this is the main show. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 02:07:53 no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, You just got your license? I just got my license. Make some noise for Mika. Yeah! Because you would have pulled me over and took me to jail. Yeah! He's still not going to drive.
Starting point is 02:08:11 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's still not going to drive. Listen, man, I ain't going to lie to you. Because this is the thing is, I've always had people who drive for me. That's a blessing. That's great. But there's also times where I want to go to 7-Eleven
Starting point is 02:08:24 and get some, how do you call this water? I call this again. I can lean out On a way for you know my wife Somebody to drive me Also, I like the new Corvette. I just wanna do you get what I'm going my man go go here my man go go here He tried not to let me get one because he wanted me to borrow his. He got two.
Starting point is 02:08:49 But I want to drive it and I don't want to drive it with someone else. You got the red joint? You got the red joint? What you got? What color you got? Here's the red one outside right there. So I was going to buy the red joint because I... Even though I'm a big guy, I like feeling little.
Starting point is 02:09:01 So I had a Ferrari one time, convertible. So if you take the convertible top mechanism out, you have like 8 to 12 inches, you're going to move it back. I was going to do the same thing with the Corvette. Just take the top out, because I don't need the top anyway. Just take it out and just move it back. I don't need the top. Fuck the top, Jack.
Starting point is 02:09:16 Yeah, you know. Fuck the top. Fuck the top. Yeah, yeah. So I figured, I said, you know what? Let me start, because I'm risking my life every time I leave my house to go get a goddamn Swisher Sweet. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:09:31 Like, for real, this is going to make headline news. Someone's going to pull me over and be like, that's Nori, nigga, let's take it to jail. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know what I'm saying? So I'm saying to myself, I say, damn, bro. So I went through the process, too. Like, my band JP hooked me up.
Starting point is 02:09:43 That's crazy. So I took the written road test, and then I get, I mean, excuse me, the written test, but then I go back to take the road test. So I want to get it all locked out. I'm like, I'm not waiting, I'm not waiting till tomorrow. And just my luck, I get like, you know, the guy that knows I'm Nori, don't want to be like nice to me and shit, he's like, so he jumps in. By the way, I was a dickhead for this.
Starting point is 02:10:04 I did not realize this. My name has to be on the insurance for me to take the road test. So I pull up and the guy goes in my car, he goes, is this a Mercedes or a Maybach? And I go, well the Mercedes make the Maybach and I said I failed right there. Like I shouldn't have answered the question,
Starting point is 02:10:22 like he was so confused over it. Is this a Mercedes or a Maybach? And I said, I said it so like nonchalantly. You did your driving test on the Benz? I did my driving test on the Maybach. And I got it on film. He filmed it for me. So the minute he goes, is this a Mercedes or a Maybach? And I sit there and I'm trying to, like I'm talking to like, I would talk to one a Maybach? And I sit there, and I'm trying to, like, I'm talking to, like, I would talk to one of my normal friends.
Starting point is 02:10:48 I'm like, no, no, no, sir, the Mercedes makes the Maybach. And then he just. He said, wrong answer. I said to myself, I failed this shit. There's no way I'm passing it. And then, let me just tell you something. If everything would go wrong, it almost went wrong. I got on a big-ass with this Yaga's
Starting point is 02:11:05 I don't know if you know Gas and brake at the same time By the way, I go through the course prior to us doing it before the guy comes out. What was you wearing? You know what I'm saying? Come on, come on. Yeah. I'm talking about the thick ones. I'm not trying to. Well, the. So what do we do? Me and my man. I can't spell it. I can't spell it.
Starting point is 02:11:33 I can't spell it. But we go through the course like five, six times. He's worried about me backing up. So I do everything but back up. Well, I go through the course. So now the guy comes out. He's face he got the mask on and I'm like I take your mask off nigga if you got it I got it at this point maybe like this but I say that obviously I do everything correct then he says give me a three-point turn. I said, I just kept it real.
Starting point is 02:12:05 I said, nigga, I was in there three hours studying. That's it. That's it. There ain't no motherfucking three-point turn in here. Yes. Wow. You know the people in there? What is that?
Starting point is 02:12:20 Exactly. What is that? When you go bump, bump, bump. When you revert, you go bump. It actually is a bump. You go pump, pump, pump. When you reverse, go pump, pump. It actually is. Like a U-turn, bud. Three steps. That's what it means.
Starting point is 02:12:28 Let's take a drink for that, sir. That's what it means. The Alcalido 88 is hitting. So whoever that guy is, by the way, because he wasn't a dick. He wasn't a dick. He wasn't a dick. He was actually a cool guy. But he was being hard on me.
Starting point is 02:12:41 But he passed you. He passed me. I had to break from you. I had to break from you. Yes, go ahead. Baby Shaq, what you doing, Baby Shaq? What you want? No more spitting. No, listen.
Starting point is 02:12:48 No more spitting. It's more on the good side. Shaq has been part of, since Miami Dade, you know, when he played here. Miami Dade? The sheriff. The sheriff. We know.
Starting point is 02:13:03 Shaq is a sheriff. Correct. We have the news around. know. Shaq is a sheriff. Correct. Correct. We have to do something. Bad boys, bad boys, bad boys. What you gonna do? I'm gonna drink, I'm gonna drink. You been drinking, Sonny?
Starting point is 02:13:20 He tried to be sent to a mental health everyday. No, I'm not. No, no, I mean, I mean about that. You know, you know how I feel. Ask him for his hand. Ask him for his hand, Sonny. Ask him for his hand. he tried to sit through it to it every day you see everything with the police in America we see what's going on. No, I just want to ask somebody. Just ask it. You can say whatever you want. I'm on, I'm with Shaq right now. How do you personally feel about it? Because you've got to see some of this stuff that's
Starting point is 02:13:53 going on. And it don't matter. Shaq ain't about that. And it don't matter if it's in Texas, Las Vegas, North Dakota, whatever. How do you personally feel about that? Because I know you got something personal.
Starting point is 02:14:09 When I speak to the police now, I tell them, welcome to my life. And they say, what do you mean? I say, when I do something, it affects Reebok. It affects this. It affects that. It affects that. So now when you guys do something, it affects Reebok, it affects this, it affects that, so now when you guys do something, it affects, right? That's the first thing I tell them.
Starting point is 02:14:31 And it hurts me when some guys go overboard. It really does hurt me. But the ones that do go overboard, they need to be dealt with properly. Because a lot of that stuff they don't teach. I've been to four or five different kinds, they don't teach that. And it happens to police. In the academy you're saying? Yeah, they don't teach a lot of that stuff they don't teach. I've been to four or five different kinds, they don't teach that. And it's bad.
Starting point is 02:14:47 And the academy you're saying? Yeah, they don't teach a lot of stuff. And it's a dangerous job now. But when I was growing up, they had something that was called neighborhood policing. Yeah. Like, you know Norrie. The police in the neighborhood is from the neighborhood. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 02:14:59 They're from the neighborhood. I know Norrie. I know you made a mistake. Before we lock him up, let me go holler at you. Yo, man, I know you're trying to be a rapper. Next time you and the boys go out, you're a front of the neighborhood. I know Norrie. I know you made a mistake. Before we lock him up, let me go holler at you. Yo, man, I know you're trying to be a rapper, and next time you and the boys, I'm going to lie.
Starting point is 02:15:10 Like, we had that. Like mentoring, yeah. Yeah, so we don't have that now, so we need to get back to that. So, you know, I'm the director of community relations in Atlanta, Georgia, and I'm trying to bring the police and the community back together. Again, I don't stand for when people break the law. So as an officer, if you do something crazy, you need to be dealt with properly. But I tell them all the time, when one does something, it affects us all.
Starting point is 02:15:34 When one rapper does something, when one podcaster does something, it's going to affect us all. And, you know, they need to know and understand that. So what about the police, policing as a gang? Like, where the good ones might be good, but they not gonna tell on the bad ones? Well, that's something
Starting point is 02:15:51 that has to be dealt with too because, you know... That's a culture in itself. Well, it's a culture for everybody. Right. It's a culture for rappers. That affects all of us.
Starting point is 02:15:58 Right, right. Yeah, it's a culture for rappers. You know, it's a culture for us. Like, if I knock somebody out in here right now, not one of us, but let's just say somebody came out the street and I knocked somebody out, y'all ain't gonna rap me out. Nobody's going to.
Starting point is 02:16:09 That's what I'm saying. So that's a different conversation. So you don't think that policing should be at a different, held at a different standard than us right here? No, they should. Right. That's what I'm saying, they should. But listen, you know how it is.
Starting point is 02:16:24 You know how it is. And again, that's a different conversation. I don't want to get into that conversation because the way I think may not be the way other people think. That's why I don't come out and talk a lot. But I can say that if you break the law and if you don't listen to what's written down and how they teach you, something's got to happen to you. Absolutely. No, that's real shit. That's real shit. So we basically damn near covered almost everything,
Starting point is 02:16:49 but I got a little bit more. Good, because I got to pee again. You got to pee again? Go ahead, go ahead. Just a little bit more. Before somebody might spit on you. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Go pee again. Go ahead, go ahead.
Starting point is 02:16:59 Go on your side, Shaq. I know you are, brother. Go pee again, because I got my other sons coming here. They want to picture with you. They'll be here in 10 minutes. Yeah, I got you. Yeah, you want to pee again? All right, I'll wait.
Starting point is 02:17:08 OK, all right, cool, cool, cool. All right, cool. I didn't know you was Cuban. Yeah? I went to Cuba. What you thought he was Cuban? I went to Cuba, too. What you thought he was Cuban rep?
Starting point is 02:17:17 OK, I don't want to disrespect nobody, but one time I called the Cuban girl in Puerto Rico, and she tried to fight me. Oh, yeah, in the beginning. Oh, no, she tried to fight me. I was Puerto Rican. She tried to fuck you, you said? Fight me. Oh, fight me.ican she tried to fight me. Oh yeah in the beginning. Oh no she tried to fight me. I was Puerto Rican she tried to fuck you you said? Fight me. Yeah no fight me.
Starting point is 02:17:28 And one time I called a Dominican girl Puerto Rican. That's what happens. I was called Mexican and Puerto Rican after 9-11 I was called you need to come over here for the next test in TSA like you from over there. Man. Yeah that's real. She went off. You played against Sam Della Bear, right? Oh yeah, Sam.
Starting point is 02:17:46 Hey, you playing against older Polynesian. They Haitian, right? They Haitian, so that's why you're Haitian. I'm from Haiti. I'm from Haiti. He ain't went to Haiti yet. We went to Haiti. He didn't want to come with us.
Starting point is 02:17:55 I told you guys 50% of the league is Zoes, but they don't believe me though. No, we believe you. But you're not Haitian though. No. Oh, the way you said it though. The way you said it, I ain't been to Haiti either. Shaq believe why you're not Asian though. No Shack is boy. No, no say Shaka is a Haitian. Yeah, really, what is that name?
Starting point is 02:18:27 Is that an African name? Bro, this the first. Shaquille is a Muslim. Listen, no, it's a Muslim. Please tell me something, God. It's Muslim. This the first show where you're gonna have about a million viral clips from this show.
Starting point is 02:18:36 Yeah, but hold on, hold on. Yeah. How come, if this a Muslim name, how come there's not one other Muslim I know in the world named Shaquille? No, that's a real name. Oh, you know what that is? It's a lot. Yeah, there's other world named Shaquille. No, that actually makes sense. There's a lot. Yeah, there's other people named Shaquille.
Starting point is 02:18:47 Yeah, so when I came on the scene, there was like thousands of people named Shaquille. So when I was born, my mother comes from a very religious family and born out of wedlock, so they kind of ousted her. So she walking down the street in Oregon, she meet a brother who has a book full of Muslim names and Shaquille Rashaun means little warrior. So she's like, okay, y'all kicking us out? She's going to be me and my little
Starting point is 02:19:16 warrior. So I've always loved the name because it was God given. What I mean by that, growing up, up always wanted to always wanted a nice basketball name Larry Bird tell them to be live on drinkchats like Larry Bird magic Johnson I'm sorry I put you live on drinkchats with Shaquille O'Neal Shaquille O'Neal is right here okay I'll call you back when I finish. All right. My brother. So I always wanted that. Don't make a serious call. So I always wanted that dope name, Shaquille O'Neal. That is a dope name.
Starting point is 02:19:51 I think it was, you know, God-given. Yeah. How do you feel about the youngest person to, like, the older person connecting with you, relating to you? I told my mom, Shai's going to be honest. And you know who he was. She's 80. Yeah. So they have a word, role model.
Starting point is 02:20:05 For me, I had to change it to real model. Not go real model. Real model, I can't play a role, get that bag. I have to be who I am and if you accept me. And I know most people will accept me because my worst fear is my mother looking at TV and see me acting crazy. That's real. Not acting funny, acting crazy.
Starting point is 02:20:27 Or not acting like yourself. Yes. That's it. Because I have the respect for her, I'm always be nice. I'm always be curious. And I'm 50. I don't want no problems. We done been battle tested through all that.
Starting point is 02:20:39 When I see people now, what up, homie? It ain't no more. It ain't no more who. Nah, I'm 50. Yeah, me mugging and shit. We done been there, done that. I ain't no more. It ain't no more who. Nah, I'm 50. Yeah, mean mugging and shit. We done been there, done that. I don't want no problems with nobody. What's up? How you doing?
Starting point is 02:20:50 I don't care what you do, what you represent, who you with. Peace, love, and respect, and we move on. Because, bro, I did all that. I did all the mean mugging and beefs and trying to fight everybody. We passed that. We passed the test. We here now. We professional. Real inspiration for everybody. father everybody we passed that we passed the test we're here now we know we professional we know we're racing so I just try to make people happy you
Starting point is 02:21:10 know just make people smile I can't find man like oh we just watch you be watching your career from the beginning you know then I can't say to the end because there's no ending to it and me just seeing you prosper and having so many different businesses, it inspires me. Nuh-uh, suck on it. No, no, no, it inspires me. Take another shot with that. No, I'm going to take a positive shot. You know why?
Starting point is 02:21:38 Because you can't break my door. You can't break my door. You can't break my door. No, no, because for real, because for real, is when we grow up in the hood, they say this, if you want to be a millionaire, you got to have seven jobs, right? So I be feeling like, if that's the truth,
Starting point is 02:21:54 then you should show me those seven jobs. A lot of people don't. A lot of people will show you that one or two jobs, and then they won't let you know about the ring. They won't let you know about the fire truck that they, you know what I mean, that they hide on the side. Or let me remix that for you. Why they got to show you?
Starting point is 02:22:10 Why don't you go out and create seven of your own jobs? That's real. That's what it is. Yeah, like, you don't need no, because everybody's not going to give up the secrets. I always give up the secrets. First thing I tell kids, listen to your mommy and daddy. Huh? I said, the kids like, oh, how did you get so?
Starting point is 02:22:29 First thing, I listen to my mom and dad. So I made a lot of money listening to a drill sergeant and a secretary. I'm gonna get to that. Listen to somebody you believe and you trust. Boys and girls club, mentor, police officers, somebody that you look up to. Listen, because if you don't listen,
Starting point is 02:22:45 you ain't going to make it anyway. If you don't listen, you're not going to make it. And if you don't listen, you're not going to have that one person, that beacon somewhere. So do you learn to be an entrepreneur? Because you've mentioned many times about being an entrepreneur
Starting point is 02:22:57 or like a joint ventureship. Like you've done, you've said that. So when I'm reading the book, I don't understand anything. I don't understand us. You're just about to open the business reading the book I don't understand anything I don't understand us open the business yeah I don't understand it but I understood joint ventureship but it's a partnership so then I said okay let me try it out I want to start a sneaker company I'm not going to China I'm not setting up my factory like this cost buying I ain't got that money yet I can't pay a hundred people in China who I can't see
Starting point is 02:23:27 Infrastructure that's what a joint venture come in. So let me do let me get on the call Hey who makes issues only make them again tonight with a gentleman by the name of Steve Jackson I like he was doing comrades in a lot of shoes. So we had a conversation He's here. He already has that infrastructure. So my joint ventures with him of course he gets this piece I get my piece so have my own shoe company but I don't really have my own shoe company where I own a hundred percent solely by myself so I had to do a joint venture so most of my deals are joint venture I want to do a water company I own by no factory I don't want to have to deal with the FDA oh Oh, they already got it.
Starting point is 02:24:05 I want to do a podcast. The big podcast, shut up. My man, he's a DJ. My man, he's famous. My man right here, he look like me. I don't know who to do it with, but man. You know what I'm saying? Like, you just...
Starting point is 02:24:18 Hey, hey. I've been talking about it. No, so he just do, so that's how I, you know, tend to do my business. And then when you base it on respect and trust, it can never go wrong. Like if I'm going to do this liquor thing, I'm not going to start from the bottom. I'm going to do a JV with somebody that's already had shelf space, distribution. Listen, right now I was going to do a liquor company.
Starting point is 02:24:41 And a friend of mine, he's in here. And he said, I not let you start from the bottom you gotta start from the top I do that's how you do it they mad at me right now the other the other company I said I had to walk away he said let's walk away but he's he's right though like because sometimes we work so hard and then we want to have ownership but what we do is we start from the bottom of the ownership 100% ownership 50% 10% still ownership
Starting point is 02:25:06 still ownership and then you know so it's 100% of nothing 50% of a lot yeah sometimes you can have 100% of something
Starting point is 02:25:13 that's not worth nothing and then when you get that you move on to something else see people ask me why I work hard not that I work hard it's just that I'm programmed
Starting point is 02:25:22 not to be complacent right after this I gotta go do another podcast. You should tell us that. No I do. No it's not. No it's not. Nah we're kidding. Nah we're kidding.
Starting point is 02:25:34 What podcast you doing? My own. Oh shit you ain't gonna invite us? I would love to but I don't like to bother you brother. No no you can bother me brother. I'll do. I'll do like to bother you, but I don't What do you want me a podcast that at my house, okay Laptop and look at yourself. So you sign to yourself. We do a joint venture Sports yeah, okay hip-hop and sports. That's my man? What's my man name? The comedian dude? He does dances by Adams? Yes.
Starting point is 02:26:06 That's my partner. Yeah, that's my man. That's my man. I don't think I've met him in real life, but I follow him so much on Instagram that I think I know him. Guess how much I follow him. That's his coach. I might walk up to him and be like, what's up my nigga?
Starting point is 02:26:14 He might be like, what the fuck is wrong with him? Because I just feel like I know him. Him and A.P.R. are like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up?
Starting point is 02:26:22 I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like, what's up? I'm like might walk up to him and be like, what's up, my nigga? He might be like, what the fuck is wrong with him? Because I just feel like I know him. Him and A'Fion Crockett. All the funnies doing some fun shit. Just another thing. Shaq, so many people does impressions of you.
Starting point is 02:26:37 Who is your favorite person that does impressions of you? J. Fowl, A'Fion Crockett, Kevin Hart got a good. Aries Piers. Aries Piers does it great. So you say Avery Spears is your favorite? Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx does it good. But you know, I like that. You like it? You know why?
Starting point is 02:26:54 Cuz I like laughing. You like laughing. And then I'm not to the point to where I'm all that, to where I can't laugh at a joke, it's funny. Like, imagine me trying to fight Avion Crockett because he did an impression. That's silly. I don't do silly stuff.
Starting point is 02:27:08 Back in the day, I was real silly, but you know when I realized it was silly? Because we all chase useless titles. You're the best DJ ever. What does that mean? Are you getting paid? Are you getting paid a check from some secret organization
Starting point is 02:27:24 that says you're the best? You're the best big man ever. You the man. But what does that mean? It don't mean nothing. It don't mean nothing. So once I learn to stop doing that and just have more fun, everything blossoms. That's dope.
Starting point is 02:27:38 You got the best podcast. And y'all do have the best podcast. We don't mind. We don't appreciate it. We get money. We just have a good one. I think we have a good one. Yeah, we do. We have a good one. have the best podcast and y'all category is only two of y'all so there's a lot of people that do it but it's only two of y'all you know the other ones we love everyone Gillian Waller
Starting point is 02:28:04 guess what's that let me tell you how real I am we love me and I was working So in this category, it's only y'all two. Y'all like, y'all like. Guess what, Shaq? Let me tell you how real I am. We love me and Osborne again. We love Joe Button out there. We love Brad Ray. All they coming back out. We love, exactly who?
Starting point is 02:28:14 Angelou. Angelou. I killed that. That was Shaq again. Angelou. Angelou. Angelou. I killed that.
Starting point is 02:28:18 That was Shaq again. No, but I think y'all got your own category. I mean, like, I know it's a podcast, but like. Matt Hopper, Rory and Maul. Y'all two have your your own category. I know it's a parkette, but like... Matt Hopper, Rory Amor. Y'all two have your own special category. Like me, I'm not the best big man. I got my own category. You're the most dominant big man.
Starting point is 02:28:32 So y'all have... I know they all do a parkette, but y'all and Gillian, y'all got your own. Gillian Waller-Mason. Let me ask you something, because this was like... Every time they always say... Your son a model?
Starting point is 02:28:45 Who? Your son a model? Who? Your son. He could be. That motherfucker beautiful. Oh, right. I got nothing. I got nothing. But, um.
Starting point is 02:28:52 But Shaq call you beautiful is something different. No, no. But everyone, like, when Harold Miner came to the league. Got that pretty ass hair. They're like, when Harold Miner came to the league, they're like, that's the new Jordan. All these people. And then Zion. Zion.
Starting point is 02:29:08 What do you feel about Zion? Because Zion. I like him. Yes. I think they're giving him too much slack. Slack in a negative way. Yes, in a negative way. Right.
Starting point is 02:29:19 Like, they're talking about his weight. Yeah. Leave the man alone. Like, you put a guy in front of me with a six pack and all that, I'm going to kill his ass every time. I'm going to eat that Popeye's, I'm going to eat the Papa John's, I'm going to drink a water, I'm going to drink a Pepsi, and I'm going to destroy his ass. I'm going to shoot him every time. So listen, the man can play, he got bounce, but you got all these experts he need to do, nah, he just need to
Starting point is 02:29:43 play, have fun, and take care of fame. fame I like this game I'm anxious to see what he can do he put them numbers the second year just got hurt and you know all his weight weight leave that man alone like everybody like I had I've never had I'm starting to get a six-pack now but I've never had that I don't need that it's all up here and why they gotta put on playing video games over weight that's that visual was bad it was I, but was that him really? I mean, yeah, it was with Morant. So I won't say over weight.
Starting point is 02:30:10 He's just big boned. I'm not going to say because I'm not going to. He's young. But listen, he got bounced, though. And then, you know, for guys like us, like when I came to Miami, Shaq was, so I lost. I was weak, bro. When you lost weight? Yeah, man, because remember, I'm Shaq, soq was, so I lost, I was weak, bro. When you lost weight?
Starting point is 02:30:25 Yeah, man, I was like, cuz remember, I'm Shaq, so people coming to me like this, I was always bruised and hurt up. But when I had that meat, I was unstoppable. So you tell me. I looked like him when I had all that meat. You was a chupacabra. Hold on. You said Arn Anderson intentionally tried to go at you, right?
Starting point is 02:30:52 No, yeah, I couldn't block it like he. But you tell me there's other people in the NBA who wanted to dump on Shaq, that was a poster? Vince Carter tried to get me one time, I had to lay him out. Do I remember that? I forgot. They swam in Miami. In Miami.
Starting point is 02:31:11 And then the next play down, he got zoned. Yes. Yes. I remember that. Yeah. I mean, but before that, you had to lay him out. Holy shit. Okay, so Shaq- Irv Gotti, what's up big dog You know what I'm saying? Angel! Angel!
Starting point is 02:31:46 Oh yeah, yes, yes. Angel! My bad dawg, I thought you were saying Angel. Angel! I'm not going to lie, I'm taking a shot for that. I'm taking a shot for that. I'm going to take a shot for that. I'm going to take a shot for that.
Starting point is 02:32:02 Can I get a shot? Can I get one too? Can I get another shot? Can I get the, oh, can I ask you to pass that soap? The shot glass? Take it out, though. All right, man. Can I get one, too? You sure? So, Shaq. Shaq, get you.
Starting point is 02:32:11 I know Shaq. I know you. I know you good. I'm gonna keep it real. Shaq, I'm gonna be looking like, you gotta be good. You gotta be good. I look just fine. I'm gonna keep it real, and I'm gonna be fair with you, because I asked Jay-Z to save shit.
Starting point is 02:32:23 Yes. We taking the shot for this you got only two people that I know they got an autumn or deal Automom So what my autumn are today I'm pleading my case with you You want to hold them up? I want Jack or Audemars. No, those are hard to get. Those are done, right? Only made, how many did we make? Yeah, we only made 32.
Starting point is 02:32:51 32? Yeah. Great number. So that's the way the winner is great. You're the sure number. That's Shaq's actual real number. Yeah, I hit Jay. I was like, yo, I wanna Jay.
Starting point is 02:33:02 This one's gotta be good for that. Audemars, he was like, well, good luck, playboy. That's how I feel inside. That's how I feel. My mind's like, really. I don't think you can sit like that. My mind's like that. I like that.
Starting point is 02:33:15 So that's really for real. When they make 32, this is it. Let me. You don't have one in the crib in Orlando with the 50 bag? You don't have one. The 50 person bag? He's there with the 50 bag. Under the 50 person bag. With the 50 person 50 person bad no you ain't cuz you don't like you don't really watch this you know I do I have in
Starting point is 02:33:32 Victor watches now and Victor definitely would you invested into it and I can get you those nothing what the big Why not? Why not? I'll take it. Why not? Tell me why I should. Because I can ice it out for you for free and save you 30, 40,000 for wearing people who don't give a shit about you. That's right. So, Invicta give a fuck about me? I do. I am Invicta.
Starting point is 02:34:02 You believe in me? Did Invicta believe in you? God did. God did. I do I am in Victor you believe in me My choice is big but my choice is statements, but because I see What it was I was like, oh, you know why because you'd be wasting your time all the other brands I't care 30 40 I'm or more. Don't fuck with us. I don't know do that I'm asking you did they fuck with you after you did it for me, but they're fucking you Victor does You know what I do nice big watches and affordable, though. I'm not gonna blow your head. What's equivalent to the presidential Invicta?
Starting point is 02:34:46 What's the, like... Like, you can go 5,000 and under, but it's gonna be ice top just like you. I'll tell you what, I'm gonna have my man Alex. This the one y'all sending me? Yo, let's go, Alex. No, no, who'd you talk to to get me on the show? Oh, Kev, right here.
Starting point is 02:35:02 Yeah, J-Mal Brown. No, Okay, so Jake my brother he won't bring you out for a diamond joint I'm gonna take it. 6,000, 20, 30,000. Everybody get up! You get up! You get up! The first press gets a watch! Everybody! We over now. Everybody!
Starting point is 02:35:37 I'll take it. But, we can't leave without, um, we can't leave without taking a piss. You gonna take a piss? No, no, I'm alright. Alright, hold on. I'm gonna hold that beer up. Alright, deal.
Starting point is 02:35:49 The accolades that were mentioned earlier is all astronomical, all dope. The Oscar award that you won making that short film for Louisa Harris, just to change the topic, how did you know she was somebody to make a documentary about? And how did you do it? Good question. One thing I could ever do is steal somebody's shine. Documentaries are already done.
Starting point is 02:36:14 I just help magnify it. It's already done. Oh, they're already done. Yeah, magnify it. I had some input idea. I said, do this and do this. But I like to be an aficionado. Right.
Starting point is 02:36:27 Like when you talk about hip hop, I know his stories, that's the beginning. You talk about DJ, I know your story, I was there. I never heard of this woman before, and I was like, oh, how could I have not heard about a woman that was good enough to play in the NBA? So when I heard her story, NBA. Yeah, NBA, so I'm like, if I didn't hear.
Starting point is 02:36:44 NBA. Yes, she got drafted by the Utah Jazz. She was the first woman to do this. That's the Juana man? Yeah. Come on, bro. Oh, yeah. Come on, man. Come on, man.
Starting point is 02:36:54 Come on. Come on. She ain't got an Oscar, though. She ain't got an Oscar for it. For sure, you got an Oscar. Is that what Juana man is based on? No, man. Stop it, man, stop it, man. Stop it, man.
Starting point is 02:37:08 This shit serious now. There was a lot of similarity because Kobe won an Oscar, you won an Oscar, and how does that feel? There was a woman that was good enough to play in the NBA. Did she play? Me and him didn't compete on everything. Friendly thing. That's what we do. Kobe won an Oscar.
Starting point is 02:37:24 Me and all my friends compete. I lost a thousand miles to Alex today because he said he told y'all to have the water in. I said they not gonna do it because I never seen water. You bet a thousand? Woo! Yeah, I gave it to him. You shacked deep.
Starting point is 02:37:35 So we always compete. A dollar a shot. So the fact that he got one, yeah, I'd like to have one too. Like I'm, again, I could be jealous and be inspired by my jealousy. And without hating. Not hating, I ain't gotta hate.
Starting point is 02:37:47 Right. Like, he got an Oscar, I'm gonna give me Oscar. Then he got a prize, nah, man, Nori, Nori ain't got an Oscar. Fuck him, because he got that, that's different. Yeah, so like, when I get jealous, I get inspired, so. No, but I mean, not to take nothing away from you. Right.
Starting point is 02:38:02 You coming from Newark, you're in New Jersey, I gotta say. He's from Jersey. I'mark New Jersey I gotta see from Jersey We're headed to the next city next to us. Okay. We're the first state. We're the first state. We're the third state. Y'all guys are the 11th state. But when they told you you won an Oscar, that's not basketball. That's not entrepreneur. That's.
Starting point is 02:38:36 I like this question. That's what? Is that for blue chips? No, that's for the documentary. You were wild on the blue chips. I'm programmed not to get excited. Because there's more to do because of your dad. Yeah, because my father wouldn't let me get excited.
Starting point is 02:38:52 Like, you can get excited in a moment, but every time you win a championship, I fear the call. Hello? Yes, sir. Bring your ass home. Bring my trophy. So now I got to rent a plane and bring my trophy. My dad's sitting there and he's like, now go get another one.
Starting point is 02:39:09 Have fun this summer. Go get another one, motherfucker. See, that's how far down it was. But did you feel love in that, though? Did you feel love through that? Accomplished. Yeah, but not love. You still felt love, though. Like you wasn't doing that to be foul. I finally asked him towards into my career
Starting point is 02:39:28 I said, why'd you do that? He said cuz I never want you to be complacent Cuz like I said he's to put it on the thing and then I come back next time it don't be there What the trophy? Like you let you see it and then when I come back next time I was like, where's the trophy? Cuz you need to replace it. Give me another one. Wow.
Starting point is 02:39:49 This is so hard. Give me another one. So the year I was winning, I went very, very hard. And then the third one, which we won in Jersey, he cried and break down, he's like, man, you done everything I asked, we good. He's like, you don't need to win nothing else. You better you better make it good. I'm leaving everybody you better make it good We will be one of the Shaq Do you guys get your own little?
Starting point is 02:40:13 Larry O'Brien Individual I like it. No, we do. No, we do. You got four. You got your own. You have a little guy here. So with the rings and everything I passed them to my father. So when he passed away. I gave everything to my father.
Starting point is 02:40:40 The rings. So when he passed away I received the bag and I got sections in my house to where it's you know It's dedicated to him, but he held up your mother. No Yes, no, what was yes, but he outlived your mother. No, my father passed away So what I'm saying, but you wouldn't give anything to your mother. No, she don't care about that. Okay, you know She's just one of them. She's just So I was uh, So I have them now. And I always made homeboy replicas of the ring.
Starting point is 02:41:09 Because they used to make the ring. But, you know, I had the Iceman out. So, like, the original rings were just, you know, sitting in the house. That's dope. But now they're making the rings. Nice. Now it's like Jacob making them. You know, you got big rings.
Starting point is 02:41:24 You got big rings. That's crazy. You're the big three guy. nice ice cube with the 42nd Street yeah he got a shit what do you think about the big three I like it you like it all right now we're doing because I know because I because because when you say the night I own a team not on there because you see all the Sacramento Kings for their piece of it I think you still Because when you say the name. How about on a team? Nah, I don't do that. Because when you say- Do you own the Sacramento Kings for a minute? Yeah, a piece of it. You still do? No, I sold it.
Starting point is 02:41:49 So when you say the name Shaq, y'all remember the Shaq with his legs up, Duncan, I'm not that guy no more. So if I go out there now, I don't want y'all to see me like that now. And plus, I did enough in the, if I didn't do much in the league, then I'd probably go out there just, no, I could have been and I do, but. That's a good way to look at it. So you don't think right now, if Louis Shaq right now, y'all play one-on-one. Oh, I'm going to kill him.
Starting point is 02:42:15 That's all I wanted to hear. I was almost in the league. In here, in here, in here. How many times you hand him a second? I'm drinking a shot. Yeah? I'm drinking a shot. Yo, I'm drinking a shot. It's a sentence. I'm drinking a shot.
Starting point is 02:42:34 It's a little bit of a sentence. How about you? To the head, to the head. To the head. And then make the face out of it. Ah. There you go. to the rear, and then make the face out of it. Ah! Ah!
Starting point is 02:42:47 He still don't get drunk off of that. I can lean on him. I'm going to tell you something, Jack. You know where it left from? Yeah, tell me. Hold on, hold on. I'm going to let you finish this story. You need to say something real quick.
Starting point is 02:42:57 I'm going to tell him. Hold on, hold on. So, Steve Stile calls me. Steve Stile says, I got somebody that want to do a record with you, right? This is right after you. Yeah. We did do that record. I did do that. I did do that. I Stile says, I got somebody that want to do a record with you, right?
Starting point is 02:43:06 This is right after you. Yeah, we did do that record. I did a record with you, and then after this, I did a record with, I could find it though. I did a record, and then I walk in the studio and it's Kobe Bryant there. So I'm like, Kobe, I gotta write this guy's rhyme real quick. So I write the rhyme for me, and then I write the rhyme for Kobe. I knock it out real fast, boom real quick, so. So I write the rhyme for me, and then I write the rhyme for Kobe.
Starting point is 02:43:26 I knock it out real fast. Boom, boom, boom. True story. Kobe walks in the room, and he goes, why do you have two verses? You know, man, one is yours. I don't have two. I only have one, Kobe.
Starting point is 02:43:46 He's like, engineer, erase the other one. And I'm looking at code because I'm like, there's no way. And by the way, he's speaking in French to the engineer. Because the engineer, for some reason, I'm understanding it. I don't understand French at all. For some reason, you understand French? For some reason, I just was complying. Like, yo, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 02:44:04 He's like, I don't know, Norby. Oh, I write my own shit. And I was so, like, disappointed and impressed at the same time. I was disappointed. I was like, damn, my check just cut in half real fast. But then I was impressed because Kobe, although I know he's not a real real MC he would not he wanted to be Kobe even as an in the student I was impressed so I tell you the funny thing oh yeah so let me take the funny thing so I was impressed so we did the record we
Starting point is 02:44:43 completed the record then later on that night, Trackmaster says, let's go to Mr. Chow's. Let's go to dinner. I get so drunk that I come up to Kobe Bryant. I'm like, I just want to keep it real. I think I could beat you one on one right now. And Kobe's thinking about it. Because you know, he was like a real champion.
Starting point is 02:45:04 Because he almost said, okay, let's go. Because I look at Steve Stout. Everybody's looking around. Because I said it with bass in my voice. But everyone knows I'm playing. Everyone knows I can't. I know I can't beat Kobe Bryant. But the Hennessy told me, I think I can win tonight.
Starting point is 02:45:21 So, Kobe's like, where's the closest court? Uh-oh. And the closest court? Uh-oh. And the closest court is actually Queensbridge. Because remember, if everyone remembers 57, the first original Mr. Childs is on 57th Street. If you actually take a left and you make a right, you're in Queensbridge. So I said, Kobe, let's go to QB. And I was going to challenge Kobe one on one. By the way, I think he would have killed me. And I think he would have not been merciful on me.
Starting point is 02:45:56 No, no. But because this is how I know he was like, this is how I know he was a real champion. Was he actually thought about it. Like he actually looked at me and was like, well, where's the closest court? And I was like... Hey, we got another superstar in the house. Oh, that's right. He's back.
Starting point is 02:46:12 Holy shit. Holy shit. Hey, man. You, man. You. Come on, man. All my moxers, everyone say hello to Sugar Shane Mosley. No. No. I like your phone call. Come on, man! You're a boxer? Yeah! Everyone say hello to Sugar Shane Moseley. No!
Starting point is 02:46:26 You fucked up. You want to take a piss? You a boxer, really? Yeah. Oh, good. He a boxer. Yeah, he a boxer. That's all right.
Starting point is 02:46:34 That's all right. Good luck, big homie. 19, 19, this is Thompson. He is the end. Good luck, big homie. Oh, my God. Oh, you loose. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 02:46:42 You loose. It's, it's, are you a boxing fan? Of course. Who, who, did you say Sugar Shane Mosey? Tank, killing the game. So my- Javante. Javante.
Starting point is 02:46:55 I think Floyd, like, and then, you know, same conversation we had about basketball and emceeing, could do the same thing about boxing. Who's the greatest boxer ever? A generation. I think it's Floyd. I think it's Floyd. I think it's Floyd.
Starting point is 02:47:10 But you know, some people say Tyson, Ali, and all that stuff. By the way, I've partied with Floyd, and then I seen him run five miles home. I seen, I partied with him, seen him drinking cranberry juice, thought it was vodka. I'm saluting the nigga the whole time. Oh shit, nigga, let's do it, oh shit, let's go, let's go.
