Starting point is 00:00:30 I got a confession to me. Uh-oh. What did you do? Welcome back. Something I've never done while fishing. And that's hard to believe, right? Because you've been with me a lot and you've seen me do a lot. Give us a, let us see if we can guess it.
Starting point is 00:00:52 So, give us a clue. Go ahead. Well, guess. I mean, if you want to guess, yeah. You got a hug in your hand. No. You fell out of the boat. I have definitely done that.
Starting point is 00:01:00 No, the falling out of the boat, he does that every time. You got a big old catfish. No, I've caught big catfish before. You lost a rod and reel. No, I've done that. God knows I've done that. You hit a stump and knocked the motor off the boat. No.
Starting point is 00:01:17 I'm telling you, this one is going to be hard to believe. This one is going to, you're going to say. Were you in the water when it happened? You're going to say, do what? You was fishing. I was going fishing. Okay. He was going fishing.
Starting point is 00:01:30 That means something happened with the truck and trailer. And the boat fell off the trailer. Yep. that's it it's similar but no you're on the right tracks so look i go you know we just got back we went to nashville uh to see brittany's family and to help our friends of wheelers out while they're doing their stuff but i had a little downtime so i called my buddy friend um and i said let's go catch some crappie on percy priest and he said yeah well let's go so i i guess i did two things i remember i so i took an uber to a boat ramp i've never done that before
Starting point is 00:02:05 That's different. Yeah. That's funny. Do you know what my Uber was? A Tesla. I took a Tesla fishing, technically. That's one of them things drives herself. Well, he did have it driving himself.
Starting point is 00:02:16 But also, I figured out I will never own a Tesla living in the South. Battery operator. Yeah, it was so hot in there. He didn't have the air conditioner going. Oh, he had it full blast. But it was still hot. But it's so hot because it can't run full power because you've got to like, you got to get to where you going, you know?
Starting point is 00:02:33 like and he's one he had one of them that's got the full glass roof so you get this cool experience and I was like bro I feel like one of them weenies on Johnny D's hot dog rollers man like cooking yeah turn the air on and he was nice as could be but anyway so Fred gets there I get in his truck to back the boat in the water like I always do because that's what I do I mean I run around all these professional fishermen I dump them in because it's their boat I don't like driving their boat some of them make me drive their boat but I don't like I'd rather drive your truck you know just because but so I backed Fred in and he gave me the go oh I went Fred still had a rope tied from the front of that boat to the trailer because his
Starting point is 00:03:14 little deal that holds his golf and he forgot to untie and he forgot to untie I wasn't on you no but I mean it kind of is because I should be looking behind me a little bit but I've just done it so much when somebody gives me the go I go I don't worry about that when did you stop about 15 foot up the ramp Whenever I was like, what is wrong with his truck? What's he following me for? I didn't even look in the rear view. I was like, what is wrong with this truck?
Starting point is 00:03:40 I looked to see if I went past drive, you know, and put it manual like down to one or something. And then I looked, something caught my eye, the side view, and it was Fred, waving his hand, 15 foot up to boat ramp. Buddy. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. And we were in an aluminum boat, duck boat. I mean, he hunts and fishes out of the same boat.
Starting point is 00:03:59 And you think, you know, that ain't very heavy. do you know how heavy that sucker is when they stuck 15 foot up a duck ramp and you're trying to get it back to the water? Yeah, it gets heavy when it's on land. Oh, buddy, it was heavy. But me and Fred and a Spanish-speaking friend who was there fishing. Yeah. We got it back into the water and then we proceeded to go fishing on Percy Priest.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Well, that is something, dear right? I never get it. I never, yeah. Wow. I was so embarrassed. I didn't even think to take a picture. I had to win, huh? Like, I was just like, I was so embarrassed.
Starting point is 00:04:31 and ashamed. Did you know catch anything? Oh yeah, we called. Joe and Bear? I don't know. We put in at Vivrette Creek boat ramp and went
Starting point is 00:04:40 straight out from it pretty much. We didn't go for it. That's why I always when we were fishing with Jay he'd be, he'd walk around, walk around and check everything.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Well, I don't see on boats. I don't, if I take you fishing, I don't want you touching nothing on my boat. Right. Because I've got a very specific order in which I unhooked the boat to go in the water. And the same way, if you're taking me or if I'm going,
Starting point is 00:05:05 I'm not touching your boat unless you ask me to do something. If you ask me, say, hey, unhook that up front. Sure. That way what happens is more. Because it gets you out of routine. Yeah. That way is what happened won't happen. But I straight did it, buddy.
Starting point is 00:05:20 You want to talk about a lonely feeling. But you were told to go. No, I will. I mean, but still, I should have been looking out of mirrors. You know, I mean, I'm going to take 50% of the. blame on this one because I should have been looking but I'm just so used to them boys most people like back in like goblin and they got a 250 on there so when they say go they got a 250 cranked and they're gone I don't ever even look again right like it's just go park the boat and uh I should have
Starting point is 00:05:47 looked was it was he upset no he was like not I mean he wore he was like well he said that's on me he said I just wish you to stop for you got right here so it's a bit on you too and I said That's why most people, if you say, hey, can I help you? And I said, no, I got it. Yeah. Because they've got their ritual that they do to make sure that none of that stupid stuff happens. Oh, yeah, buddy, I felt just like, you know, the size of an ant. You could have been on one of them videos where they're all watching the people back the boats.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Oh, I was a cell phone video away from ending up on qualified kids. captain's Instagram. That's like they was backing down his ramp and his house and the next thing you see is
Starting point is 00:06:37 a light's under water. It went all like truck, boat, truck and all it was. It could have been worse, Martin.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Oh, it could have been worse. We got it back in the water which I was stunned that we but Fred has done that before because he said, all right, first thing we're going to do is turn the boat around.
Starting point is 00:06:57 So we spun the boat. and put the nose back down. Yeah. So it had less metal to pull again, you know. And then once we got it to the slime of the boat ramp, you know, where we were all trying not to die slipping, the boat slid on in the water then. So I said, you need me to do anything else? He said, no, you've done enough.
Starting point is 00:07:16 You got that rain up there, that rain come through up there. A little bit of rain. Oh, it rained third. Yeah, I heard it got pretty rough here. Righty. Why did you catch any fish? Oh, yeah, we called. And my windows were down and my little.
Starting point is 00:07:28 with the coma. Hey, how's the Jacob's family? They're doing good. They're doing good. You know, Alicia got the diagnosis of the sarcoma in her leg and she is, when we were there,
Starting point is 00:07:40 she was finishing her second round of treatment. They changed her treatment because the first round made her so sick. So she got the second round, she got what they call what the Red Devil, which is the one that starts with an Ager Mison or something. I don't know. And then, but they swapped her to,
Starting point is 00:07:58 another one that's like a, what's the word, it's like immunotherapy. So basically it just takes the gloves off your immune system and says, go fight, like uses your body to try to fight it more so than drugs. And so, yeah, she,
Starting point is 00:08:15 man's weird to see. It was, because I know her and I've known her for a long time and know how full of life and everything she is and to see her down like that, it was, I mean, but she was in great spirit. She was, she's just, you know, she's sick, man, and the medicine don't help that.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Oh, it makes you feel terrible. Yeah. And so it's just, it's kind of tough to see, but I told her, I sent her text last night. She was like, because I know how independent and strong-willed she is. She was like the greatest patient ever. She was, she was patient with people trying to help her, even though it wasn't exactly like. You know what I mean, though? Like, I mean, that's hard.
Starting point is 00:08:50 You can be a terrible patient, right? And she was. I'm not a good one. Yeah. And she was a great patient because she showed all of us. us patients and all, you know, we're trying to help, but we don't, you know, you just try to help and do the best you can. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:06 But yeah, man, tough, tough to see because her kids want to be up there in her lap and, you know, they just can't be because the deal's in her leg. And so it's. That's the worst part. It hurts the whole time. And so, you know, we were trying to keep between my kids and their kids, we were just trying to keep kids distracted and, you know, let her have a little peace. And I would say quiet, but there's four kids under the age of seven.
Starting point is 00:09:28 going to be quiet. It's not quiet, but to keep, you know, just to have some peace and stuff. And she did her fireworks show, which she loves doing. So we did a big firework show on, on the lake. And, you know, they're doing good. They're just figuring it out, figuring it out as they go. So hopefully two more rounds of treatment and then be done with that. And then do the next steel radiation and then hopefully surgery by October to get it out of there. Hopefully everything works as it should and get it out of there and get her on the, full-blown men, you know? So, um, but yeah, man, it sucks. Cancer sucks. There's no doubt about it. And since that deal, there's been so many people reach out via duck call room and
Starting point is 00:10:09 Instagram and all that and offering prayers and support. And I know they appreciate it. We appreciate and then there's a bunch of people battling it themselves. So I mean, it just, it cancer sucks, man. It, it, it's a toughie. Yeah. So, um, you know, but they're meeting it head on and I'm proud of them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Because even. Yeah. Yeah. Because even. and Jacob, you know, he's special. I love that boy. But, you know, he's all the time just fish, fish, fish, fish, fish. I mean, that's what he does for a living.
Starting point is 00:10:38 And, I mean, I saw him make about 10 cast while I was there because he was helping take care of her. So, you know, like really, really going into a servant role, which is really cool. Yeah, it is. See, to see husbands and marriage is that strong to be able to do that stuff is really cool. Look, y'all, this summertime down here in the South, man, it's hot. And you know what hates heat as much as we do? Bugs.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Ain't they right, side? All right, they come inside, buddy. Don't they? Big time. What came inside? Ants. And that's exactly why Pesty makes so much sense. Other pest control companies can charge hundreds of dollars,
Starting point is 00:11:13 but Pesty starts at just $35 per treatment. Pestey customizes your plan based on where you live, your climate and the bugs that you're dealing with. It's DIY, so there are no strangers in your house and no appointment window to work around. Pesty helps get rid of over 100 types of bugs, including spiders, ants, roaches, and scorpions. It's kid and pet friendly. Y'all know this big with us.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And the pesticides are fully registered and used in hospitals and schools. And you also get a 100% bug-free guarantee or your money back. The kid has everything you need and you can get it done in less than 10 minutes. It's got a bag. You got your gloves. You got your spray. Give him this. You got your miscar.
Starting point is 00:11:56 And then, hey, that's Pesty. Guess what, boys? I got something for you, Clint. Uh, Gawin, you about to put it to a full test, ain't you? You moving back into the deer camp? Oh, yeah. I used it last year. Let me tell you, it got all the mess.
Starting point is 00:12:11 We got back to the deer camp. Open the door. No spider webs in the corner. Nothing. There you go. I was, I spread it in the yard, too, around the deer camp. It kept the ticks and everything. Out.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Keep bugs out of your summer sanctuary with Pesty. Go to pesty. dot com slash for an extra 10% off your order today that's p-es-t-i-e dot com slash for an extra 10% off hey when we went to england it was 20 degrees hotter the week that we were there 20 degrees harder than normal I'm telling you I mean it was summertime and London but you were fine weren't you oh I loved it I was fine I mean I'm used to the heat plus humidity yeah we changed shirts three or four times I've only changed shirts once today. I was just because of coffee.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Was that, is it dry? Yeah. Yeah, it's dry. They don't even have air conditioning. You know, you just open up the window if you get hot. Yeah. Me and God wouldn't know. Yeah, it's like Scotland.
Starting point is 00:13:12 We still wanted air conditioning to. Yeah, and I did too. I mean, I did have some fans, but I opened up all the windows as much as they would open. That, no ice. Well, me and Godwin got to. You're right. You know, for those that don't know, me and Godwin got to Scotland. before everybody else for all the Robertsons when we did that Duck Dynasty when we were on
Starting point is 00:13:30 the earlier flight and we got there and they were delayed and whatever and we got to the hotel and there wasn't no air conditioning so me and Gobbin were like huh so we sent a friendly text out hey heads up this place ain't got no way seat which then led to another text about two hours later and said your reservation's been moved yeah down to the American hotel that's got air conditioning So we went from windows open to air conditioning. Oh, yeah. Before they ever got. A bigger room, too.
Starting point is 00:14:01 A bigger room. Yeah, we were in a little old tiny thing up there. Yeah. Both of us. That was pre-P-D-H weight. Yeah, Ph.D. weight. That was 100 pounds ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:14 And about 50 pounds ago for me, too. Yeah, we wouldn't either one of us little then. I'm fired up about going to Wisconsin again this year with you boys. Bonnie. Oh, yeah. Got some more pheasant. It's always a good trip up there. It always feels good.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Yeah. I love the hunt for life program and what they're doing. They've got, you know, benevolent things they're doing all over the United States. And then John, you and Paula, went on some kind of a special deal. Yeah, he just got back. Yeah. We talked about that. You know, he went on what they was.
Starting point is 00:14:45 The life camp with girls. The life camp they were selling. Mm-hmm. Which was awesome. And, hey, we've had a podcast where he told. Oh, okay. And they had, it was a blast. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Well, you had a great time. The Hunter, I can control this TV. Next year, we're going. I've never had this power. Hey, put us something on. Oh, great power comes great responsibility. Put us something on. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Hey, Jeff. All right. I was just curious. I was curious. I was wondering, I don't think I have anything. I do have Johnny D. He said that we were welcome to, to FaceTime him,
Starting point is 00:15:24 today from the Gulf of America. There's Johnny D right now. He's on vacation this week. So I think after this week, everybody would be gone and back and doing everything. I bet you he thought that was Johnny's pizza. It's Johnny's Pop. Yeah. Yeah, die-free, all-natural popsicle. Yeah, there you go.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Yeah. Unbelievable. Yeah, so. There he is again. When he figured out it. Johnny D. a big selfie guy, for those of you that don't know at home. Does that surprise any of y'all? Probably not. Johnny D loves him some Johnny D so we'll just roast him while he's gone
Starting point is 00:15:59 yeah well if I keep going down that road we're going to end up talking about hot dog rollers and stuff like that which I will say we bought one and Johnny D was right the hot dog rollers fantastic what are you talking about so you know like you go in a gas station and you see all them them
Starting point is 00:16:16 weenies on over the rolling yeah like your wienies in there and just let them go and about a week later get you one. Like at the theater, John. We probably don't need to read all this. Well, I see what you're talking about, but, I mean. I thought, who'd I send the picture?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Oh, I may have just done it on Instagram. There's your boys, eat that many weenies? No, but like with us, so that deal there, Jacob and Elisa's, we've done this every year for, I don't even know how many years, July 4th. Well, now everybody's got kids. and so it just leaves you something for kids and people to eat all day. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yeah. Like so. You don't have to worry about it. It's always cooking. You put on the first, you know, you put on the first two packs at 10 o'clock in the morning. Yeah, that's pretty smart. And then you just, you know, we had people just kind of keeping an eye and as it would get run down. He just put more on it.
Starting point is 00:17:15 So there was always something for kids or whoever. What's funny is the adults ate them morning. anybody. I would. You get you some cheddar. 200 bucks. It's 200 bucks. I will get me one. Get you some cheddar.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Yeah. Well, we had a whole bar set up like, you know, with onions and mustard and catch up. I can pay that for a party or stuff. I guess it'd be worth it. Yeah. Yeah. When you got like 20 people staying in a house or, you know, just that one little deal for
Starting point is 00:17:43 four or five days, it just makes an easy way. You don't have to mess with nothing. Yeah. Just sell once for a check. Yeah. I'm going to buy one for the beer camp. Oh, you'll be the, you'll be everybody's favorite. Put it in the main camp.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Hey, and you know what else works well on it? Sausage. I was thinking that. It ain't just for hot. Yeah, I was thinking that. Yeah. So, yeah, no, it's, and if you want to, if you want a real cheat code, you go out there and throw them on a grill for about five minutes first,
Starting point is 00:18:10 and then bring them back in and put them on there and just keep them warm all day. Matter of fact, my daughter's on coming in here. Some time. Go get your hot dog, brother. Oh, no. I'm a pile of green. Because she'll be able to pull it off. I'm going to get her to find me some German Brockworth.
Starting point is 00:18:29 And then that's what I'm going to have on my hot dog. Bratworths rolling? Rolling all the time. For you and all your friends. I'm serious. That way you just go by. We got to get your hard roll. Cut it.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Yeah, cut it. Put hot mustard on it. Slap one of them big fireworks. Well, I'm telling you do this, you've got to get a cell phone. because part of mine and Johnny D's everyday text her dogs are rolling. Well, hold on. Dog are rolling.
Starting point is 00:18:55 I'm serious. Rolling, rolling, rolling. I got to get it with my wife with Tracea because she speaks fluent German and I know she'll find some somewhere. German town. Yeah. If you...
Starting point is 00:19:09 You'll find somewhere. If you ever have a gathering of people that's like a normal thing, that thing is a super good cheap. Oh, no. I laughed at Johnny D. If you had it full of Brockworth. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Put whatever you want. It's just a heat deal. It ain't you don't put no oil or nothing in it. You don't do nothing. I mean, you clean it. It's got a little drip pan in it from the, you know, from the oil from the hot dogs. I'm checking out. But, um, I'm fixing an order one.
Starting point is 00:19:35 I think I'm going to get one too. It is. I'll fix it all to tell my wife the order to do one. They need to sponsor this show. I know. Oh, yes. I got them two grandbabies coming. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Yeah. I'm going to take one to work with me. I took them a piece of steak the other day. They're little old light iron. Good hot dog. They do you on it. Yeah. She were on it for they cutting them tea.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Yeah. They like it? They slobbering all over there, so. Yeah. Yeah, Cassie gnawed on it. Doesn't. She was like, she didn't know what to think about it, but Cassie liked it. I miss them days when your kids eat anything.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Yeah. Mine's at the age where they eat like four things. Yeah. They went from they'd eat anything you put on their plate to now. I can't like that. I can't like that. I can't like that. I can't like it.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Go ahead and makes their own I can't Peri A for baby food She makes her own baby food Yeah we did that a few times It's easy And it's cheap It's cheaper than the
Starting point is 00:20:30 It's cheaper in buying it Well I fix A Like puree and it's yourself What is Gerber? Gerber yeah Gerber's proud of that All of them are Especially the apple sauce and all that's kind of crap
Starting point is 00:20:43 Yeah we made a bunch of it Expenses Yeah Now they hardly eat I mean Whalen still eat it a little bit. He likes sweet potato spinach. Big potato spinach.
Starting point is 00:20:56 I don't know about that. Yeah, sweet potato spinach. And so Johnny D. just asked if we were filming. He knows we are. How does he? He's in a group. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:06 It's like you said, John David loves some dog, John David. He's trying to make sure he don't get weeded out. And you put my picture on the screen? Who's going to win the games tonight? Oh. Well, something tells me that I just replied, we are, obviously. I bet he's going to FaceTime me. So you can probably ask you.
Starting point is 00:21:27 This will be great. I would imagine he's going to FaceTime me. But, yeah, hey, USA going to win. I hope. I mean, I don't know. You never know. Nah, you don't know. It won't be because we ain't rooting for them.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Well, I'm willing them to win. I so bad want to come watch the soccer game with you. With Sa? Side, get the hot dog roller. No, no, no, hey, you wouldn't. Can we do another episode from Sy's house tonight? Can I think, please, please? No, no, because we're going to film on location.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Si watches the World Cup. No, no, because Christine said, what are you doing? And we catch him cussing for the first time ever on camera. You big, Debbie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, we just got through celebrating July 4th. We know what that means. That's freedom, right?
Starting point is 00:22:14 We celebrate freedom in this country. We believe in pro-life, and that's why we love the work that they do at pre-born, and it is so important. At pre-born network clinics, mothers facing unexpected pregnancies are welcomed with compassion, practical support, and a free ultrasound. And when a mother sees her baby and hears that tiny heartbeat for the first time, her baby is twice as likely to be given the gift of life. These babies are our future, future parents, teachers, pastors, entrepreneurs, first responders,
Starting point is 00:22:44 leaders, you name it. These kids are our future. Every life saves strengthens families, communities, and generations. to come. I know like with us, obviously faith is a huge deal. I'll never forget the feeling I felt when I heard the boy's heartbeat for the first time. And at a pre-born clinic, man, these folks go in there, they get free ultrasounds. And most importantly, they get to hear the gospel. Yeah. Pre-born provides free free ultrasounds to women in need and so much more, counseling for up to two years, diapers, maternity clothes, and the hope of the gospel, all for free. For just $28, you can sponsor an ultrasound through pre-born
Starting point is 00:23:18 and help expected parents see hope for the future. If you're a business owner, consider a larger gift, $2,000 or $10,000 to claim a write-off or $15,000 donation, sponsors an ultrasound machine for a clinic, helping impact countless lives for years to come, to donate, dial pound 250 and say, baby. That's pound 250. Baby.
Starting point is 00:23:39 Or visit preborn.com slash... Doug. Again, that's preborn.com slash... You know, if you cut off your lap, arm, your right one's left. Your right one's left. That's a good one. If you cut off your right arm,
Starting point is 00:24:02 if you cut off your left arm, your right arm, your right one's left. But if you cut off your right arm, your left is still left. Yeah, I wouldn't do that. It'd be my left arm. But I'm right-handed. You could fish with one.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Jacob's daughter had a good one. you know, the whole, what is, she was so proud of it. What do you call a cow with no legs? You know that one, huh? A cow with no legs. Cow was no legs? Cow. Cow.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Move. Cow, no legs. Throw run. No. Ground beef, man. Her seven year old self loved that one. Oh, yeah. She had another one, but I don't know that I can say it.
Starting point is 00:24:46 But I'll let Hunter head. She had another one she was proud of. And she said, what do you call the Chinese man? with one leg. What? All hers had to do with legs, missing, I don't get it,
Starting point is 00:24:56 but you call him Taiwan Shue. I want to hear a seven-year-old say that. Taiwan Shoe. Taiwan Shoe. I like, that's like that future cheese. You keep, you always keep future cheese.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Just in case so. Just in case. In case so. There you go. There you go. Okay. I don't know if we run tie once you or not, but it was on like a laffy-taffy rapper. I figured it passed an inspection.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Oh, yeah. Oh, Lord, have mercy. Hold on. We got a situation. There he is. There he is. There you go. Hello, Hunter.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Who's going to win the game tonight? I don't know if he can hear it. You have to ask him. Martin. Hey, Si's asking, Si's asking who's going to win the game tonight? You still,
Starting point is 00:26:06 Cy. It's going to be a USA, baby. America. And their waffles suck. Waffle house rules. Belgium has no chance. Gulf of America forever. That is.
Starting point is 00:26:22 And Donald Trump reversed a red card. So here we are. USA. That's right, USA. Hey, enjoy your vacation. We got this hammer. Yeah, I just need a jowling in for a moment. Yeah, well.
Starting point is 00:26:38 He got his USA jersey on. I love you, Hunter. Kind of. You too. I knew it. He couldn't. See, I was out. I didn't call you.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Not him. Maybe I ought to call next thing in my mouth. I'm always out. Yeah, just call. Uh-oh. Just call. Recording video saved. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:59 You asked me a screen record, right? So I did it. There you go. Hey, now you go. That's a pretty good looking family there. Oh, I guarantee you. Hold on. I got a better one.
Starting point is 00:27:07 I got an updated one. It really drew a lot of ire from the fans on the internet. Apparently nobody seen me without a hat. Right, there is. Look at it. I'm bald, baby. Oh, he's a brick. We have been for a while.
Starting point is 00:27:23 That don't bother me, none. Look at them boys, man. They are growing. That's a good looking family. I guarantee you, especially their mama. That's right. Here's a fine little thing. Oh, I'm here to tell you now.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Here's a... I tell you, that's why I said, well, no matter. Hey, you need to marry this girl. Here's, here wailing with a fireworks. He got that glow stick in his hand. I don't know. That's when he was looking at the drone. He was...
Starting point is 00:27:54 He was enamored by the drawn. He said, look, that drone's got its own star. It's just the, you know, the guiding light. We had one down there. Brother Deer Camp went about 40 minutes. I couldn't believe it was going. Little old fire station put it on. Volunteer fire station.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Oh, they're trying to work. I'm talking to, man. It just kept, I said, well, that's it. Now, boom, we're coming in. Yeah. Did your grandkids go to see some fireworks? I don't know. They was here.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I was there. Oh, there you go. That's what I kept thinking on, one watches on the, you know, at the mall. I said, surely it's over. No. There you have something real fun about gunpowder.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Whether it comes out of a shotgun shell. I like the way it smells. How do they make it do that from like it'll start, then it'll fill, and then it'll blow up again. How do they make all that wrapped up like it? I imagine. It's just like a rock. basically they make little mini rocket go up in those different stages yeah
Starting point is 00:29:03 boom yeah I like the no one thing the mortars are the cool ones yeah I want to spend 38 minutes oh on that one non-stop 850,000 was what they said blue yo that was there people were that was 850,000 fireworks I know what ours passed and it was not 38 minutes long. And I suspect it was a little bit smaller than that, but it was still expensive. Well, the last five minutes, it was so bright, it's blinding. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I mean, it went from, it went from like red and blue to white. I wonder what pilots they could see for mile. Oh, yeah. We had the coolest thing. We had a cool deal because I didn't know that I didn't know that I need. needed to see this in my life, but I got to. And that was lightning behind the fireworks. Like there was a storm on the other side of the lake.
Starting point is 00:30:06 So as the fireworks are blowing up, you just see this lightning. Wow. Part of the show. And I was like, all right, that's cool. That's cool. The most, just mind blowing was that Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Yeah. It used to have lightning storms there.
Starting point is 00:30:28 It was like the Mississippi River going across the sky. Of lightning? Lightning. And it was light. That is out west. It goes. Oh, yeah. And look, when it went over us, we're out in the yard.
Starting point is 00:30:43 My hair is just, I'm talking about it. Hey, it lifted every hair on my head straight up. You know, Christine just died later. He says, you ought to see yourself. And I said, what? And she got a phone that took a picture right quick and showed me. I looked like, what's that old boy? They used to do the fights.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Oh, in America. Dawn King? Don King? Yeah, Don King. That's who I looked like with my hair. Cy King. It was just, you know. One of the coolest things is me and I were at an event on the 4th of July a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:31:21 and when it was over we were flying back and there were fireworks you could see from the plane just going off all the way home looking out the window watching fireworks underneath you. You know what I was? That was wild. No no, that was pretty cool. It's all dark and then
Starting point is 00:31:40 poof-woo. You know, yes. Pretty cool. Lightning's cool. That would be cool to watch a fireworks show from up above. Yeah, that was awesome. Yeah, that'd be neat. that'd be I did I saw them one time where was I was flying into Dallas and something had just ended a football game or something and they had a firework show so I got to see you know but it's a it's a short one yeah like and plus I'm coming in at whatever 500 miles an hour so you just kind of you know you get to see about three seconds of it at your window for you're standing on your head trying to look but yeah I bet if you watch 38 minutes from above that's probably pretty cool probably probably because it's it's it went, the screen was huge.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Yeah. Okay. And it went from one side of the screen all the way to the other. There you go. It was, you know, so that, I don't know where they had it at. Somebody said it was on barges in the river. Oh, probably, yeah. Oh.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Keep from setting stuff on far. Because that is dangerous. Very dangerous. Yeah, we had a couple on ours go a little sideways. Yeah. It was like, you know, I kept seeing it. blow a little bit early. And when they would go where they was white.
Starting point is 00:32:54 And I mean, it was a gigantic aerial white. Yeah. I can't believe it didn't light up everything that would tell you had in there. Fireworks, sir. Yeah. It looked like it would blew the whole thing up. They had them spaced up. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:07 They had professionals done. They weren't like us, a bunch of rednecks on the ground with cigarette lighter. Twisting one. Yeah. But I don't like to. I don't like to. We made homemade mortar shells out of two by 12. Oh, dear.
Starting point is 00:33:18 I'd like to have a. energy measure on that lightning that I seen come over me in Fort Bragg. Yeah. Just to see what it put on the meter of what it went to. It probably light up a seat. Oh, I don't know, because I mean, this thing went completely across the sky, and it wasn't a little boat. It was like the Mississippi River flowing.
Starting point is 00:33:45 And it was all lightning. Look, when it comes to hair thing, a lot of guys just throw on a hat instead of dealing with it. I always remember we was on Fields Land and Al was leaning against a fence post. Way down there like 300 yards away and it hit, the lightning hit like 500 yards away. And it flipped owl off of that fence post. Oh, it hit the fence. Yeah, when it hit the fence.
Starting point is 00:35:58 It flipped him. I mean, you're... Really? Yeah. Oh, that's cool. He got up and told me, what happened? Yeah. Well, he said, I said, hey, you got struck by lightning.
Starting point is 00:36:07 You got some magic powers. Yeah, I said, yeah. I know a guy who's been struck three times by lightning. Why does he stay outside? I mean, he's got to live his life. He's been struck three times. By lightning? Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:21 and live to tell about it. Free range electricity. But I won't go fishing with him. No? I won't go hunting with him. No. I don't know. I mean,
Starting point is 00:36:29 do you attract it? Took off. Because we're throwing the rod in real and there's a rod starts just buzzing. I've been there. Yeah. I've been there. That line, when that line picks up off the water,
Starting point is 00:36:42 it's time to go. Well, no, because I ain't. There's enough static electricity to take your fishing line and go like this. Nope. With your hair. That's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:51 I ain't got no hair. What the thing we did was drop that rod. Yeah. So that thing was buzzing. Yeah, you reel up real fast and you get the heck out of that. Yeah, and then tight. The next time I heard that 20 or was cranked up and we're gone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Oh, good. Yeah, you find out just how fast you can reel one up, pick a troller motor up and get gone. So I've been there. Yeah. Say just a little too long. And he looked and you're like, oh, we're cooked. This is it. Yeah, we're, it's over.
Starting point is 00:37:19 the uh no i don't you your mother-in-law been struck got one twice really once on a deer stand yeah she won't she wasn't going outside did start clouding up she's in the house after that second time it blew everything that's the way my buddy is twice everything she didn't go out very much everything she had on that was metal buttons zippers boot lace, eye holes. Blown. Blowed it all up.
Starting point is 00:37:53 Really? That's why. She's still with us? Mm-mm. That's got to be scary. I was going to get her to come in here and talk about that. I'll think that that's got to be secure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Oh, yeah. After that second, you know, first time, but the second time will actually be hit by lightning. After that, she's in the high. Buddy, any time I see it, I go, I get under a roof. I'm like, uh-uh. Well, see, actually, actually, I was leaning against the fence post.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Yeah. Well, it hit the wire. Way down yonder. 500 yards away, and it still flipped him, just flipped him off the, off of it. That's what I'm talking about. That's a lot of power. Fans, if y'all got any lightning strike stories,
Starting point is 00:38:37 air them with us. Hello at duckcallroom.com or call. 215-6559. Oh, yeah, 318, 218, 215, 6559. Lightning strikes are weird. Well, no, because that's like the kids that all they're talking about to pee on the fence, electric fence. Oh, yeah, duh, that. No.
Starting point is 00:38:54 What about my buddy that peed on the spark plug to show me that his boots would protect him from it? He said, yeah, my boots are rubber boots to protect me. Well, what does that have to do with your tallywacker being out? Hey, it knocked him out of them boots. He was laying out of the floor convulsing. He peed on an active spark plug? Yes, he did. Why?
Starting point is 00:39:15 Because he wanted to show me. He had new rubber boots, and he was like, I can touch the fence, nothing happened. With these rubber boots on, I can do anything. I will not be shocked. I'm Superman. And we had a lawnmower out there, I said, let me crank this mower up. And you pee on the spark plug, he said, it won't even hurt me.
Starting point is 00:39:33 It won't even hurt me. We pulled that spark plug up and cracked it up. And the first drop hit, and he went back about 10 foot. Woo! I thought he was dead, but he was just rolling around, shaking. Who is? Do you want me say it? Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:50 Jeff Glasscock. I don't know if y'all know this guy, but he's a character. Well, is it now? He's a Darendelble. How long ago was that? Oh, we were kids. Oh, okay. Were y'all drinking?
Starting point is 00:40:05 No, it was before, it was seventh grade, sixth grade. Yeah. That seems like something I'd have done drinking. Yeah, you probably did. No, I didn't do nothing. Oh, yeah, you'll try anything when you drink. Thank you. I ain't ever thought to TT on the Spark Club.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Well, let us know what happens. I do that as soon as I throws that thing three miles. As soon as he chunks that slingshot, three miles. Have you been practicing? Nope. I ain't. John Lewis. Who brought the slingshot?
Starting point is 00:40:32 I seen we all brought one in here. I bought him two. I bought two off Amazon. They're cheaply made. Have you tried to do? I got to make a new one. I'm scared to death. I don't know when to let go with the thing.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Hey, John Luke. Or where'd you want to be finding me a piece of leather? Well, he used to shoot them old, you know, we ain't have no ammo. Like, I mean, you shot the rock in the driveway, you got trouble. That rock was put there. But we shot them old china berries. Oh, yeah. And each other, like shot each other with china berries and tallow tree berries.
Starting point is 00:41:06 And then balls off a cypress tree. Hey, I got more, I got in more trouble with china berries. Oh, man, we used to shoot each other with them things. like the farm hands used to ever Saturday night they'd go to a place that had to come by the house and we there's an old building there that had a roof that's come over the highway we can get up there with a basket for the china berries and have like a gallon bucket of them cars combined oh no oh yeah that's best would hit this thing and you oh that was back
Starting point is 00:41:50 I was like hey they're the old half drunk one guy got out one of a guy got out and all you can see is a nickel plate of 45 he'll get drunk of a skunk shooting in the air so we that broke that up yeah I had abort mission yeah I broke that up whoa but not that happened
Starting point is 00:42:09 we gave up to China brief yeah we used to soak tennis balls and kerosene and light them at night and bouncing off windshield when people would drop by. No. Did you? No. That's like when we,
Starting point is 00:42:21 we, we, we, the same guy who peed on the spark club. On the show that we, you know, we hit golf balls. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Oh, yeah. That was good. And I actually knocked, knocked a light out of mine. On the golf ball? Yeah. I hate it so hard and knocked the light out.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Now, see, I'll believe that, but Jace wouldn't. Oh, no. Hey, Jason was there. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:42:44 You know, and he said, you didn't do it. I said, hey, hand me another one. I'll knock it out. So he handed me another and knocked it out. I said, I said, I don't play golf. I said, it's a waste of time. Well, Joe, I told him every one day. He was down at the field. He kept slicing it. And I said, James, for a little nominal, I charge you $20. And I said, I can tell you how to fix that. He said, do you play? And I said, that's what I thought.
Starting point is 00:43:14 I said, I don't have to play to teach you how to do it, dummy. I can correct what you're doing wrong. But back in the day, me and I did play some golf together, and I will say that he can hit a driver. The dancing rabbit is where it happened. Is that with the big old nod on it? What? The dancing rabbit?
Starting point is 00:43:35 No, the driver. Oh, no, look. That's what they handed me at that. I hit a golf ball. That golf ball and that fence. Oh, yeah. Three hindoes. I had to go off off of 300 yards.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Hmm. No. That is true. That's a true story. And look, and I wouldn't have believed it unless, but he put his name on it and marker. Did it get, did it get on a cart pad? No. Come on.
Starting point is 00:44:02 No, no. It's right. Look, no. We was playing four of us and we were scrambling. Like the best shot. Yeah, scramble. So everybody had went in the woods and it was my time. And I said, boys.
Starting point is 00:44:15 What did I say to you? I said, what did I say to you before you got there? Hey, look, just hit it easy and knocking in the fairway. Because we're all in the woods. Because we're all in the woods. And I said, no. And Philip said, hey, idiot, just hit it in the middle of the fairway. Easy.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Don't go for it. Yeah, about 50 yards. I said, no. I said, you see that open spot down there in the fairway? And I said, yeah. I said, I'm going to put it right there. Go yet. So, hey, look, I got ready.
Starting point is 00:44:45 That's showing his form. Hey, that's the hardest I've ever swung and I hit it perfect. Bam! You know, and I'm looking and I'm saying, it's going to make it, it's going to make it. It's going to go it over the trees. It's over them. I said, but, yeah, I said, I think it hit him the stand trap.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And somebody looked way down there. We just come by the 250 marker. Yeah, yeah. You know, another 50, 75 yards down there. a white spot in the middle of the fairway. And one of them said, hey, I think that's your ball down there. And I said, hey, we just passed a 250 marker.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I said, that's $3.3.25. I said, I can't hit a ball that far. You're right. And I said, hey, well, you know, so we will look all around there. And I said, the guy said, hey, I'm going down there to see if that's the ball. Well, he went down there and he said, hey,
Starting point is 00:45:40 it's got your name on it. this is your ball. You hit it. And Jay said, was this supposed to prove something? I was like, yeah. That's 300-yard drive. He says, I got four idiots holding up three fingers. That don't mean you hit the ball 300 yards.
Starting point is 00:45:55 I said, yeah, does. I said, they're testifying to it, son. Oh, Jay, you can't get one over on him now. Starting point is 00:46:44 This one's by a man named Coach K. Coach K, baby. Coach. So he said, I've always been curious if hunters have superstitions before or during their hunting trips, just like baseball players not changing their socks during a winning streak. Do you all have any superstitions? Did he ever watch Duck Dynasty? Yes, he's a big fan.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Okay. Well, then he should know that for 60 days, Phil Robertson didn't wash his socks because he said every time you washed them, they got colder. Yeah, you wanted the dead skin cells. If it cleans it, it makes it cold. Yeah, you needed your sloughed off skin cells in the pores of the clothes to make them as warm as it could be. Also known as, that's why he stuck so. I don't have none. I mean, you let bananas come on your boat?
Starting point is 00:47:38 Yeah, why not? I know there's some fishermen are like, no bananas on the boat. No bananas on the boat. No bananas? No bananas on the boat. Oh, they don't want to sweat. Oh, wise to hell. No, he just says bad luck.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Banana's on a boat, bad luck. Now, side didn't tell me. If we were going fishing and the cows were laying down, pointing a different direction, turn the mess around and go home. If the cows laying down, you head toward the lake, and every time you come by a field that's got cows in, if they're laying down,
Starting point is 00:48:09 you might have to turn around and go back home. They ain't biting. They ain't biting. I ain't noted I love all these I've heard them all I've heard that's like East Wind
Starting point is 00:48:20 yeah that's one they have a feast you be sharing going when that's going on Is that true? Yeah they bite like crazy On an East Whel? Yes Well it's funny
Starting point is 00:48:29 Because some people say Fish Feast And others say they bite the least I've always It's been Hey well they don't buy the talk Yeah Wens out of the East fish
Starting point is 00:48:39 Bite the least Are you using the wrong bait Or you didn't go one time that winds out of the west fish by the best the best one is we had a pond
Starting point is 00:48:48 that was you had you look west you know about 30 miles and we had a pond over there five acres
Starting point is 00:48:56 that had lily pad that when it was storming over our rain we'd load up go just light drizzling rain on the pond
Starting point is 00:49:07 you have tiny torpedo and it will to sun perch on the color. All right. That color. That color, the back of a top water gets me every time. Hey, look, hey, you're talking about Eelma alive.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Yeah. I'm talking about. I've only got one. When the game warden's here, stay clear. No, I don't have any weird. I don't think I do. I mean. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:39 A lot of times we pray in the dark every morning before we duck out, just for safe. Well, I always do that for safe. Yeah, that's what's safety. And say, Lord, send us some ducks. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, at least you were safe.
Starting point is 00:49:52 No, no, I'm serious. Pray for safety. Pray for safety and faith. Fly talk. Yeah, but I don't have like any, you know, for hunting. You got to eat this or not. I mean, I don't have nothing like that. I had a friend that he fishes for being him.
Starting point is 00:50:08 He's a big catfish. When he fishes, he's a big catfish in tournament. And the night before retirement, he eats catfish. He eats catfish. He's got to do it. Got to eat catfish. He's got to do it. There you go.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Okay. I guess the check. That's because a boy likes fried catfish. I don't know. Well, sometimes you've got to connect with your foe. They said, hey, we've got to eat catfish tonight. Tomorrow's a tournament. So tonight we got to eat catfish.
Starting point is 00:50:36 We're going to be throwing them back the rest of time. We're going to be hungry. Yeah. That's the way. That's some of the most fun you ever get into. Armour up there around Memphis. Having throw lines out on the river. Maybe it was live bait.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Oh, catfish? Oh, yeah. There ain't nothing better to go up here and have that willow stuck in the ground. Come up there and that thing is. That willows whipping the water. He's just trying to get away. Hey, you go up there and grab it and tell me. Brittany caught like a three-pound op the other night, night fishing.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Oh, on a croppy jig. Oh, yeah. She really has something, yeah. I bet she did have something. Yeah, a little three-pound op. He was, he. Phil, Phil had a,
Starting point is 00:51:22 we tossed it back. The doctor, he knew, cut it out. I was back the day when he was commercial fishermen. So I come in off of leave, out of the military. And I said, hey, you got any trolleck lines?
Starting point is 00:51:38 Mel made up. He said, oh, yeah. He said, I got one to go clear across the river. I said, there's a, uh, the bluegill on the bay. He said, yep. He says, right up. drive up the creek you catch all you want i said well i'm gonna go catch a hundred bluegill
Starting point is 00:51:52 and i'm gonna put water in the middle of the boat where you humped up all the fish and then me and jason are going to go out there and i'm on such a chop there across the river he said okay so i did it well up i called a hunter fill it up put it in there come back me and jace went out there and you know and he's you know phil was all worried you know he said hey you got to put weights on them there once in a while where the barges won't, you know, get in the trot line. I said, hey, I got this. This ain't my first time I ever put a darn drop line out, dummy. But look, all across the river, 300 yards, 300 hooks.
Starting point is 00:52:33 Well, I had a bunch of, you know, I baited all I had all across the river.
