You blew something up. No, here's the question of the day. What? Tell me about the man, Jesus. We have to tell you about Jesus. What is this? A pop quiz? No, I know where he's been thinking all night about it.

Well, no, I really have. There used to be an a cappalus. I've already, I started reading Matthew. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Okay, I started reading Matthew, read it. Mm-hmm. Okay, then I went to Mark, read it, and I still got to go with Luke and John.

But I noticed one thing. I want to know about the man, Jesus. So we know, we know this. He was willing, because he said, I am willing every time that they wanted to heal somebody, help somebody. But, hey, where are we starting? Hey, so I can't help me. You just said, tell me about Jesus,

and you started like random version. Well, no, no, I'm just telling you. Start with Mary, Joseph? I want y'all know. There was a census in Bethlehem. No, I want y'all to tell me about the man Jesus. And here's the thought. Okay.

When you read in Matthew and Mark, okay, I ain't got to Luke and John. There's thousands of people. He's literally half of the time he gets in a boat and they go out in the ocean. and he talked to the people that are on the shores. Like the thousand, the five thousand that he feds when they were talking about, you know, Lord, it's getting late. You know, we need to send these people home

before they can get some food. He said, no, we'll feed them. But here's my question. Tell me about the man. How did he put up with all those thousands of people that no matter where he showed up, Here they come. He went into the woods for 40 days and didn't he?

Well, no, no. That's what, but I want to know about the man. Okay. Because you got to think about it. Thousands of people showed up. Hundreds and thousands of them were sick. Blame, blind, deaf, dumb, everything else. And he's healing all these people.

He's a man with a mission. No, no, and he's healing all these people. Yep. He's a man with a mission. That's why I want to know about. Why they're going to be dumb? Well, hey, well, I'm just saying that. Hey, he healed it all.

He raised dead men. Okay, but hey, you know, because you don't hear that much about, okay. I want to know about the man. There's this cool. Like me. Hey, you want to know how he did all that? Oh, I know how he did it. You want to know what helped him, though?

Well, no. See, that's what I want. I want you to tell me about the man. He took mass. He done what? He took naps. Well, Jesus, I'll do that too. That might have been the superpower.

I'm with him on that. Do you think he ever got a patriotic roof? Yeah, yeah. He's the one who made it. Thais and he healed everything. Daph, blind, dumb. He's a bunch of smart people walking around Nazareth. I'm serious, though, you got to think about that.

He did. He said, deaf, blind, dumb. That means the saddicees and the Pharisees. And the Pharisees, that's what he's talking about. I'm not telling you I'm on education. Well, I think, I think technically the term for you're looking for is ignorant. Well, you know, but I'm just saying. But it made me laugh.

You got me all that. Well, no, no. You got to look at this, okay. Because that's what, you know, I tell the people when I'm out preaching everybody or at the house when they show up. Oh, they're showing up now to see that roof. Well, no, no, but hey, I tell them. You got to understand something here. I know the man

that hung the sun, the moon, the stars, the constellation, and it's his power that keeps everything working. It started thundering whenever he yelled that he knows the man.

Well, oh, no, because I get loud and I emphasize, I know. No, that's actual,

man. No, that's actual thunder. Okay. Or, no, that, or,

that's why I will say, You got to think about this, okay. He'll be coming back right now on size of you. Jesus is a man. He was a man. He still is. Okay. And he walked this earth for 33 short years.

He got tired just like I get tired. In every way, just like us. Every way. But without sin. No sin. He took a match. But that's why I'm saying, okay, hey, look. You know, because most people, and I use this phrase,

The reason you don't believe in God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, okay, is because you've never seen them do anything. I said, and not all that, you don't, you got to look at this. The Father is a Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a Spirit. I said, but when you come to the Son, Yeah, became flesh. Hey, he's flesh and blood just like me with one big difference.

No sin in his life, period. We got oxygen machines, you know, and we, we, we, You know what? There's one for each of you. You know what? Jesus didn't have an oxygen machine. No, didn't need it. So you won't need it.

You won't need it when you resurrecting them. So I didn't need it at 33 either. So I might need to keep it on because he's a little bit excited. Oh, he fired up now. I'm good, boys, but I am fired up. So you know, okay, so you know the man. Yeah. All right.

And you're asking us who the man is. That's right. Tell me about it. Isaiah wrote about the man 750 years before Jesus was born on this earth. and he talked about that he would have no majesty among him, nothing that would make us think, oh, look, here he is. He's going to look just like us,

and you're not going to think much of him, but he's God in the flesh, and he's going to take away the sins of the world. I guess I need to be more Pacific. Pacific. Tell me. That's right. You say, you know, the man,

as in regard to what? Tell me about Jesus' personality. Oh, that's good, Sa. Hey. I love that. I want to know, I want to know about the man, Jesus. Yeah. Okay, the Bible.

Like when he was hanging out, just him and the boys, and they put the pins. Him and his disciples. They put the pins down for a second. Nobody's taking notes. That's what you're wondering about? Well, I don't know. According to the Chosen, he's mildly sarcastic.

And a little cocky. Which I can appreciate. He's like, you do know I'm the son of God, right? Well, no, no. So I needs to watch The Chosen. Yeah, you do need to watch. You would love it. I actually think the best thing that that show did was turn Jesus into a human.

Yeah. Like, it lets people see him as human. The human. Like, and actually. Y'all people can't hear it. The point I'm trying to make here. Which I think is like, I think that was like job well done of humanizing Jesus. Because even though we say he's human, do you really think he's human?

No, they don't. That's what I'm saying. Like, even today, because you recognize him as all powerful, all knowing, all things, so he can't be human, right? Even though he was human, he's not human.

He's not, he's not us, right? So when you see. No, I'm saying, no, what I'm telling you, as I'm saying, that's the, that's the draw that you miss out from it because we didn't get to experience him as a man on this planet. We didn't get to see him be a human.

We can only read about it. That's why I know I'm asking a probably impossible question for us to answer. Yeah. No, I think it's a good question. It is a good question. Because look, when Jesus was here, he was a man. He was healing people. He was talking with people.

I mean, think about the fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, all these things, self-control. He is the epitome of that. Yeah. And just what you said was all of that is. tangible. Yeah. You can't grab it like I grab this bell. Yeah.

You can't grab love. Right. I can see it, though. The effects of it, yeah. I can see it when another soldier willingly gives his life to save his buddies. That's love. But I...

You think he could do a handstand? Yeah. That's cool, isn't it? Can you think about it? Oh, I know he could. Yeah. walk on water. He can do a hands. That was with it. That was with it. Just remove the hands. So when you think of a verse that says, we have a mediator in heaven, the man Christ Jesus,

that's what the verse says, the man Christ Jesus, because when he came out of the grave, it wasn't a ghost. It was flesh and bone. And he said, no, no, that's why I said, you know, I'm, when I'm actually preaching to somebody and he don't get it, it really bothers me okay and I know I'm doing the best I can do they shouldn't bother you there were people that witnessed him that didn't get it well no no like yeah people that witnessed it that killed him yeah that said well that can't be what I just saw oh no no let's get him I'm like I'm like doubting Thomas I wouldn't call you doubting much of him well my friend well no hold on hold on see that and Thomas get a bad rap though see doubting Thomas he's

He would have questioned a Black Panther. You believe. Notting Thomas. Doubting Thomas. Hold on, no. I got to stick up for, can I stick up for doubting Thomas real fast? Yes, absolutely. And John 11, when, we're going unashamed up in here,

whenever they're like, oh, we better go see Lazarus. And everybody's like, no, they'll hurt us. They're looking for Jesus right now. You know what Doughton Thomas says? Well, then let's go die with him. That don't sound like a doubter to me. That's all I'm saying. No, no, but you got a thing.

You did one thing, got labeled it when every other time he was ready to go roll up on somebody and die with him. That's right. Don't ask any questions. We're going to get to heaven, and Doubant-Thomas are going to be like, all you American suckers called me Doubting. He got speared to death, and we call him Doubton Thomas. It's not fair.

You get labeled by one thing, like a crazy-old. That happens around here. I would, maybe this will help a little bit, okay. if you was the president of the United States of America. Give me another job. Well, no, no, no, no. I resign. No, no, well, that's what I'm saying, though.

Okay, look, it's going to be fun. Okay, like me. Going to war with Canada. First, I use me as my example. If I was president and I've done what some of them have done and then be treated like they treated them, okay, it would be very dishearting for me. to actually, you know, why am I doing this for these people?

Yeah, that's right. Because you're sacrificing and then I'm sacrificing my whole life for you, and yet you don't appreciate nothing that I've done for you. You know, that's why I'm saying I want to know, Jesus was a human being, okay? He had, he was tempted in every way we're tempted. Except one thing. No, except he didn't ever fall.

Okay, we all failed. Had he. Okay, that's why I'm saying, hey, tell me about the son of man. Tell me about the man, Jesus. What was his personality like? I know this, he was all giving. Do you want us to tell you what we think? Or do you want us to tell you what humanity thinks?

You know what I mean? No, because humanity. don't think. No, they're wrong. Yeah, they're wrong. No, no, that's their problem. They don't think. That's the different view.

They don't believe it. Look, how long has this been going on? Yeah. And they still haven't got it. What year is it? Yeah, this is 20,000, 24. And they still, there's people that, you know, religion. Jesus, who are you talking about?

Just so, from me, I will, I will say that, that I love, When I go back and read the book of John, for instance, I love the way Jesus is with people, and I love the way he is willing. If you notice, he is always willing. He's willing to heal. Even on the Sabbath, he's like, we ain't worried about that. Let's do it. He started it.

You know what? That amazes me about most of them. He was there in the beginning. In the beginning, in Genesis, it said, let us make man in our image and in our likeness. I mean, he was there the word in the beginning. So he's seen it all. and he has more love for us. And yeah, this is the Ashame podcast.

But hey, unashamed podcast. But, Zai, you're right. I think that the most important thing is his love is what I see. I don't know what these fellas will tell you, but that's what I see the most. That's the top one. I guess in a way I really don't know what I'm asking. Because I've got my own personal belief, what I think or what I feel.

But what gets me about it is the more I've read, you know, someone would ask him, Lord help me. Okay. All he would say is, hey, your faith has saved you. Go, pick up your bed and walk. Yep. So they was actually just what they thought of him was all that he,

they needed to say. All they needed to say was, hey, I believe in you. It'll be as you say. Jesus really didn't do nothing. He just says, hey, it'll be as you say. You want to be healed, you want to see, boom. See, you've healed yourself. By your belief, by your faith.

Well, today we can't get people to see that. No. And I know all the scriptures about the bell, the devil has blind you and put scales over your eyes and all this good stuff. But, y'all, Prodical Son, here's a man that squandered his father's inheritance,

and he's looking at a bunch of pigs eating flop, and he's envious of what they're eating. The Bible says it this way. Then he finally came to his senses and said, what is wrong with me? Let me go back to my father, and I'll be a higher. They got a better life than I've got right now.

Yeah. You know, and I look at this, and this is from an uneducated country bumpkin. Okay. When are we, when are we the human race going to come to our senses? All right, look, springtime is here. It's warming up. You know what that means. That means more outside cooking.

okay i really don't when you read uh second christians chapter one verse 18 that says all the questions are yes the answer to them are yes in christ jesus wait a minute what did you just say all the answers to every question is yes in christ jesus then why would you not want to be in Christ Jesus. Because there's accountability. You can't do what you want.

I think if we've learned anything in today's society, accountability, people don't desire it. It's bothersome to them. They want to say they got it. They want to say they're transparent, but when you hit them with accountability, they're like, no.

You hit them with that accountability. They're like, no, that's trash. Are we really that insane? I don't think we're insane. I think it's one of those deals. You have the advantage of looking back over 73 years and realizing, had I just done everything the way the Lord asked me to do it? Yeah, just do the two things that he wants us to do.

Life would be that much better. Us young, dumb people like to think that we have it figured out. And while, yeah, the Bible says that, I actually think it would be more fun this way, and then we screw up our whole lives. Yeah, but I can ask you. Please don't hurt. Okay.

No, he's laughing. He's smiling. No, no, no, no. And I got to pray for me. And I got the knife. No, no, no, no. Somebody getting some oral. How's your life now?

Way better. Going, going, oh, no, when you was doing your weight. No, terrible. Yeah. But we're d'Ure. But we're human. This is a tale as old as time. It's not going to fix itself until you surrender.

Until we actually get a mind. Well, until you surrender. Like the, you can believe all you want to, but until you surrender, nothing changes. That's deep there, Martin. I'll tell you right now, I believed in God my whole life. I was raised in church. I was all the things,

but until Mother's Day of 2011, when I surrendered, nothing changed. But when you surrender, all of a sudden it becomes about something other than you. It's bigger than you. It's greater than you, and it isn't about you, which is the biggest thing that people, today because of our society and how things are measured where you're taught take care of you

and don't worry about nobody else it is the exact opposite of the Bible where you are second there's the deal you just had a guy steal from you from your your store absolutely i've heard an eye on that too you go get him i mean you can love him no no how stupid how stupid how stupid is this when you really think about it the other day he risk oh philip hadn't seen the video he risk going to going to jail for a stupid couple of hats right the brand man refraise that he risk he risk going back to jail tell me homie look if your life is that bad i'll buy you a couple of hats i mean we're selfish right we're boring that look here let me tell you what i know you you raise kids I'm raising two right now that are just starting to figure out.

Your kid's wild, bro. But they're just starting to figure out what selfishness is. Like, I see them now taking possession of things. I'm going to get my eyes. They're almost too. So now, like, some of this stuff is starting to make sense. And I, to them, and I see where they grab. Taking possession of things.

Is he doing inventory? Does he work for you? Wait for it? Nope, wait for it. He's showing them down in his pants. There's a lot of people thinking I want the hats back. That is not the case. No, I just prefer to be paid for it.

Yeah, I just, I would like. Fair market value, please. You can keep the hat. $27.99 for the green one, $34.99 for the gray one. I think the city of Washington Parish wants like 4% of that, just somewhere in that range. But what I'll say on my kids, there's an innate thing in a human that values possession. You know how I know that? Because they don't know anything about possession, but that truck is his.

Mine. That they haven't said that four-letter word yet, but I know it's coming. That's coming. That, you know, like wailing in here the other day, that yellow lion is his. So, I mean, it's something that we fight from the time before we even know, before we even understand what it is, that's mine. It's in bore of bread. Yeah, that's mine.

That's just part of it. So when I'm saying surrender, that's part of the thing you're surrendering is that, that thought and that conception of self. is what you're surrendering to give away to give back. But these kids didn't learn that. I haven't taught them that that's theirs. They're born knowing that. So whenever you're talking about a flawed person and a flawed human,

we're born with it. So that's why Jesus, right? Because if we weren't born with that and we could do things without him, why did he come here? Why did he die? Why did he walk amongst us? There would be no reason for him. So it's like, okay, I get that now.

And it's just a different deal. I mean, you're going to struggle for anybody these days, I think, to put a personality to him because we're so far removed. We're so many. And I bet with each generation that got removed from Jesus, it got harder and harder. Absolutely.

And you look at the prophecies all the way back, and you try to understand his character back then, especially when you read Isaiah, it's not much. When you're reading it, you're like, hmm, this doesn't look like much. You weren't prepared. I was sitting over, scratching my head and feels like, well, in Isaiah. Yeah, but I do.

How do you pull in Isaiah out there? Because it describes him. It's a verbal description of what Jesus looked like. There's nothing to attract us to him and all these things. And that's why when Philip was working with the Ethiopian, you remember that in Acts 8? He's like, hey, can you understand what you're reading here? He was like, how can I, unless somebody helps me?

He started with that very description. Ain't nobody used those words anymore. And Isaiah, and he spoke him and taught him the gospel about Jesus, which changed him and everybody in this room. That's why I remember going from selfish to selfless or more selfless, and when I was 19 years ago. Yeah, I mean, it's not, I'd be lying if I said I didn't still fight those tendencies today. Sure, absolutely.

Myself and my things and all that, right? I get it. Like, I still, and when you, when you give that up, don't hear me saying, like, that Johnny D should be okay

with people stealing from their store. That doesn't make you. No, no, common sense. No, that shouldn't, that does not,

that does not make that okay. That does not make. Now, he is a giving person. He'll, he'll get to people. But don't steal from me. And that old boy might need one to.

Well, yeah. I mean, like, so there's not, I mean, then you have to, you have to go down all that road.

But like, it's just a, it's just a different thing once surrender is involved. But it's the one thing that I love about that Chosen Series. And this isn't the way that they portray Jesus as man. Because I like to think of him as being witty. Like, I mean,

you know, I'll be like, you know, because you want him to be somebody. He knew what you were going to say. So he had all this time to plan. And you want him to be somebody you'd hang out with, right? Like,

you want him to be somebody like, oh yeah, man, he'd come over the house for a barbecue. That's cool. You're answering some of my questions. You know, like, that's what you desire for it to be, because you want that relationship with him to be personal and ways that you connect with him,

which may not be, you connect with somebody may not be the way that I connect with him. And then everybody, but that's the cool thing about the personal relationship with Jesus, is that relationship is whatever you want it to be. Yeah, but you might struggle though. Well, no, no, no, because here's, well, you're answering some of my questions. Is that 5% of the story that, you know,

You don't necessarily... He probably holds you accountable. No, he's laughing with y'all. No, no, no, because here's the thing that, you know, if you don't get it, if you don't get it, that Jesus was human, you missed the whole, you missed it all. Yeah.

And that's the problem. That's the problem that I have is they missed, Okay, look, that's why I've got on this kick about I know the man. Because he wasn't. I know, I know the father, I know the son, I know the Holy Spirit, okay. But the biggest part of this is the son, because he's a man. Just like me with one exception, no sin. You can relate to him.

Okay, and like you're telling me, yes, he's witty. What are you talking about? You're talking about the creator. He's got a little wit. He's got a little wit. Well, that just proves he got a sense of humor. He dreamed this guy out. Can you imagine if we're all fishing and we got our poles?

But Jesus is just raising them up in the back of the boat out of the water. We're like, all right, Jesus, put them all back. Yeah, quit bragging. We want to catch them this. Yeah, quit bragging. The original livestock. I mean, you know. Yeah, absolutely.

Nobody mad at him. Everybody mad at a lot of school. And that's our brother in cry. I mean, Jesus is our brother. brother. See, I actually, you know, because Martin called me the other day, but the bank had called in. Again?

It took me like three minutes. Oh, no, no, no. Yeah. Answer your fault. Sigh, pick up. Si, it's just a Martin raise up. That's the combination. That guy stole a couple of hats and something else from you.

This clown clipped me for $7,000 out of my checking account. See, they didn't tell me what it was about. They just said we need to talk to him immediately. So I figured since it was the bank, I said, hold on. Oh, they, I didn't. Oh, yeah, they'll get it. Okay. But it just makes me mad that someone that they're after a side.

They're willing to work. Just got $7,000. So they knew Martin, they knew the connection there. I handle all size personal affairs at the credit. But you have answered by question some of them. Good job, Martin. I mean, I didn't mean to. Well, no, no.

Look. Because they seem very open-ended and not without a, for sure, answer as we know of them. I got more questions than I got answers. But I'm good with that. But I'm just, I'm just. I understand. Guys, if you don't have, if you don't know the man, Jesus Christ, you need to know it. Yeah.

It's just a tough thing to, I mean, it is tough to consider him a man. Even what I'm saying as a man is we know man. Right. That's exactly not. Because it's hard for me to picture Jesus sitting right here sitting on his microphone. He's slapping you like this. Yeah. You know, like doing those things because like at the end of the day, he's all loving.

He's all loving. Why not? Because we know of his power and his majesty that we didn't get to witness personally. I'll just say it makes him larger than life to a normal human being. Oh, he needs to be larger than life. Amen. That's what I'm saying. So when you just refer to him as just simply a man.

That's a tough concept to grab. Right, right. Jesus is my older brother. Yeah. trying out. Better looking too. Oh, and hey, he loves me more than than I can love myself.

So I want you to think about this, and I don't know if it will help, but think about this. What you want people to know, the man. Their faith comes through hearing the message about Christ. So what's the message about Christ? Well, think about it.

Oh, no. It's on the hats that you wear. He's God in the flesh that comes down. He took up sin. He became sin for us and had to turn, let the father turn his back on him. Remember when he died and he was like, Father, you know, why have you betrayed me? In the man's greatest moment on this earth, his father could not look at him. So that's what I'm talking about.

He's the one who took the sin for us. So that's what I'm telling you to help people understand who he is. we share that message. And it's the most important thing that we can do is try and tell them who Jesus is. Yeah. I mean, to describe the characteristics and things about Jesus,

that's great to understand that he's loving and kind and generous and he says yes. All things are yes through him. That's one thing. But to understand him being God, you know, in the flesh that died for us and was resurrected,

and we put our faith in that, and that's what saves us. Yeah, because that's the thing. you actually can't understand it. That's right. It's hard to fathom. You can't, our human minds can't even comprehend how actually powerful he is and what God actually did and what Jesus actually did.

And that's where faith comes in. Because it's this crazy story. If you really want to talk to somebody that doesn't believe it in 2024, you're like, oh, no. The person that made the universe way more powerful than us chose to become a man. and get brutally murdered. Then he came back to life and all his friends got brutally murdered too.

And I'm sticking with that so I can live forever. That's a wild thing to say. Honestly, and people look at it. They're like, what? And I can't understand it. But you know what? I believe with all my heart that it happened. I was 16.

Why not? Why can't you, you know? Because I'm a human being. Like the, the, everything that went into it. Hey, look, I understand. I'm broken. Yeah, I understand. I'm flawed.

Look at my man's hair. Hey, let's talk about that hair for a minute. No, I love it, man. Because, like, you don't got so excited. Like, normally, even when you take your, when you take your hat off, you still, like, pull your hair back and everything. You just got it. I love it.

This is one of them deals I want to grab whoever is not listening. To help them understand. Yeah, and say. They have to understand that. What is it going to take for you to see it? So we've seen a lot of God's work in action. Y'all know y'all have and I have. And, Cy, you've watched kids that were dying.
