Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, I had a fire today. You had a what? I had a fire today. You had a far? Yeah, burn. Well, all them limbs that fell from the ice storm. Mm-hmm. Just now burning them?
Starting point is 00:00:21 This August. Well, it's been raining. I mean, not raining, but the wind's been blowing. The wind's been blowing. The woods got to dry out. Wind's been blowing. I've been busy. I've been off.
Starting point is 00:00:31 So, but it was so big. I was kind of scared to burn it. Because it was right beside my shop, you know. Well, that's metal. Pretty close. But she shop's a medal. I know. But it was close.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Still. Oh, you like to burn it down. And there was some big logs. They filed up there. And I said, well, I'm just going to go for her. I led her today. Did you? I got me a water hose, water down all around it.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Did you get you a lawn chair? Do you sit there and watch a ball? No, I got a rocker on the porch of my shop. I sat in that rock. But let me tell you what you don't. don't do you don't go wear a shirt with a big giant logo and get up close to that fire raking and stuff because that logo will get hot really and you can't get away from it because you're wearing it what logo did you have on that cornfield fishing gear logo I mean it was big it's covered my
Starting point is 00:01:24 whole front of my shirt that cornfield done got hot I said who he was getting hosty he said burn that I mean, I was trying to rake, you know, the ends it burned, and you rake the ends in there. Oh, yeah. And that sucker got hot, and I backed up so it'd cool off, but it wouldn't cool off. It was still hot. I couldn't get away from it. I still hot.
Starting point is 00:01:47 I had to take it off. Well, that was rough. That was that, yeah. Well, and the good news is it's nice and cool out there today, too. Oh, yeah. It's cool. It's hot here, buddy. My face of die, it ain't cool.
Starting point is 00:02:00 It ain't that hot. It ain't that high. Come on. Hey, the wind wasn't blowing this morning. I think I should have been fishing. Yeah. But I'll take this over ice any day. Yeah, I bet there's a lot of people that think.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Yeah. Especially with what I was burning. Yeah. You'd much rather the fire department. I see. I see what you did. When it's hot and there's ice is when in the whole town. Fire and ice, that's a good color of a fishing worm.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Culprick used to make it in a ribbon tail. Fire and ice. I caught a lot of bass off that thing. See, what's your problem? What? Used to. Oh, people still buying it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I can't buy it no more. I feel like a nice culprit worm's still a thing, man. Seven inch ribbon tail? Seven and a half inch ribbon tail. Five 99. Oh, they've gotten expensive, man. Inflation, man. Inflation.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Those things used to be $2 a pack. Well. That's crazy. That was 10 in there, too. They had a bunch of them. They probably, they probably, they probably, they probably, they probably $6 a pack, and there's eight of them in there now. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I don't know how he's in there. I'm going to find out for you right now. Oh, look, he's looking. Fire. I'm on that other. No, there's 18 in the pack. Y'all still sell tequila sun. Hey, you've made 20.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Yeah. I just remember it like all them old colors. You don't ever hear them no more. Tequila sunrise, red shad. I had a guy called me the other day looking for fire and ice and an eight inch. I said, well, there's a seven and a half inch. He goes, I don't think that's going to work. Not enough.
Starting point is 00:03:27 That half inch matters, son. Fisherman. Yeah. I hear you tell you. Yeah. End up over like size sausages. By the way, Russ, thank you for sending size some brought worse. He's got them.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Hey, is Russ a professional chef? Yeah. I need to know more about Russ. Big Daddy? Yeah. We now follow each other on the ground. Oh, yeah. I'm starting to learn about him.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Yeah, but he's a... Can he cook? Oh, yeah. He hearted my photo of Big Dave's plate the other night. Yeah, Russ. And that made me feel proud because he's a professional chef. Russ, yeah, his stuff looks fancy, man. And tastes good.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Like, I don't... And he cooks. So he's like the dinner chef for us when we... We do the 4th of July thing up in Tennessee. He cooks dinner. I cook breakfast, and then everybody kind of fends for themselves for lunch, which is where the hot dog roller came in.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Because we were like, you know what would be easy? Well, he just put it on in the morning and then come back in either. Just have dogs rolling all day. Hashtag dogs rolling. Because everybody there come from different times on, so lunch feels different for everybody. So you just have dogs rolling.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Dogs rolling. And you're good to go. We've got to get a dogs rolling sponsor. We need to have some dogs rolling up in here. here. Is that on your plan? Protein. I can have protein. He has protein. Buddy, I don't want to be the bear of bad news. I don't know if you've read the back of a hot dog package. There ain't a lot of protein in there.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Oh, but taste a little bit of sugar. Meat. It's meat. It's meat. It is meat. It's some form of meat. And it's not going on. I can't have the bread, but. Hey, you know what I did today? What did you do? I got a new driver's license and the lady asked if I was still six to, which I felt should be obvious. That doesn't really change. And then she said, do you still wait 2.30?
Starting point is 00:05:03 And I was like, actually, ma'am, I do not. No. Which is always a fun day whenever you're trying to lose weight and you get past whatever you lied about on your driver's license the first time because you were probably above that anyway. But I went with a real safe number today. That way, if I gain a little I'm good, if I lose a little I'm good. Yeah, grace of mercy.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I don't want to go down to, like, say what I want to be because then I got work real hard. Yeah. Or just let the whole world. How much lighter are you than your driver's license? I don't know. I ain't looked. What's your driver's license today? Probably, I'm 30.
Starting point is 00:05:34 No chance he got his driver's license today. He'd been using my phone to call his daughter. Hold on. He ain't got a phone at the house. And your wallets of that? You're just out here raw dog? No, my wallet's right. You're out here just raw dog in life without any essential?
Starting point is 00:05:48 I think my driver's license had 250. 250? You're below that now. Oh, yeah. I'm way below that. You've been way above that. It's a good feeling. It says 250.
Starting point is 00:06:01 There you go. Two 50. Well, when you go, you can update it. It's a good field. You know what would be fun to do with the DMV, though? No, I didn't go there. Where'd you go? One of them little places.
Starting point is 00:06:11 You get a real ID. But if they were secretly had you standing on a scale and you didn't know it, and they're like, how much do you waste, sir? Well, all you got to do is go. But then you tell them, and then your real weight just pops up on your license when you get it. That would be fun. I was within two. pounds today so I'm proud of myself. I'm willing to pay a tenth of a cent more tax just so we get
Starting point is 00:06:34 scales at all the last time I don't know I'm just saying the last time I would have had about a 20 pound walk of shame I helped you out I was like two 30 30 30 why not yeah that's that would be fun yeah that would be a lot of fun that you yeah have you been to a water park like when you get on a plane you got to tell them you right weight because if you tell them you wrong weight you crash really As someone who's really not looking forward to an upcoming flight I have. We went on an excursion. I used to see word. We went on an excursion in a small plane.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Oh, in a small plane, yeah. And the guy said, what do you? I need to know y'all's weight. And he looked at the women and said, don't lie or we crash. Don't lie or we crash. If you go to the water park, they do the same thing. But they weigh you. Do they really?
Starting point is 00:07:22 It was weird. Water park? They got a big giant skate. I'm assuming something to do with mass plus speed. They charge you by the ounce? What, they're worried about the water overflowing? No, I think they're worried about you going too fast and falling off that slide. Good.
Starting point is 00:07:37 No, you don't want to fall off a slide. There's nothing like accountability. Why not? Because it would hurt. That'd be a great place for Ph.D. to advertise as you're going off the side. That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Have a bar code there you can. When we went to that water park with the kids, I didn't really like it because they'd make you stand on it as a group and then individually. and they'd look at you. What do people look like playing? Well, one time I put my foot on it while Allison was on it and pressed down a little bit. Oh. That was funny.
Starting point is 00:08:08 But, yeah, no, they're checking you. Really? It's got to be something with science and math. I believe in science. Your boys are about Waterpark age. No, they're not. Yeah, they are. You about to be at the Great Wolf Lodge,
Starting point is 00:08:23 which is basically a moisture cheese. Hey, I just got them twas and twas and You just use the word moist. Life jackets. Huh? I just got them twian some life jackets. Have you put them in the life jackets yet? They're the most uncomfortable things.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Like the boys this year were able to get the live jackets where they can actually like move their head around a little bit. But them little infant ones, when you put them in there, they're like. Yeah, they're like, ah. And so hot, like they're just like a little neoprenee body suit. They got them little port swing. Yeah. Hang it from my Bimony top.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Oh, you're going to put them in the swang? Yeah, they're going to be swangin. Yeah. That sounds fun. Yeah. Oh, you're talking about fun. I'm bringing my turtle box. We're playing swinging going down to Lake with him.
Starting point is 00:09:08 That'd be fine. That's a real right there. That's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah. I love it. I got a radio in there. It's a Bluetooth.
Starting point is 00:09:18 There you go. The whole Bluetooth radio. Bluetooth with the Spotify and everything. I got a fusion. Do you have a scale? A scale. I'm just wondering now, Johnny D. saying they're weighing people at water parks.
Starting point is 00:09:30 You might have to start weighing your gas before they get on your boat. You might have to. There is. Post Guard regulation. There is a weight limit on that boat. It's printed in there. It's printed on the boat. How embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:09:41 I know what? Some people I put on there, I don't move around much in the wind, which is good. They don't got a lot of balance. Some of your customers? He says the boat sits a little lower. It sits a little lower. the water than it happens. In other words, his load's got a little bit heavier.
Starting point is 00:10:01 I wish I had a picture of me and Martin in my kayak that day. Oh, I bet you it didn't have much freeboard. No. It was begging for mercy too, buddy. I thought I said, I'm about to lose this thing. Yeah, that kayak said, I quit. It's a two-seater, but we were pushing the limits. I've been known to do that.
Starting point is 00:10:21 I think I got a picture. I was like me in Phil of P-roll. I've been known to do that on some vessels. Life insurance is not a fun conversation to have. Starting point is 00:11:41 Nothing? Just tea? No, can I take it back? I play poker. Oh, it's your house? Yeah. Did y'all have dogs rolling at your poker game? No, I ain't done that yet.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Oh. Have you done as well? No, I went to Mississippi yesterday. I was, Saturday. Saturday. Yeah. I was in Mississippi, Saturday. They gave me all kind of jump.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Oh, yeah. at that sports show. Yeah. A bunch of, uh, some of sausage and cheese and, uh, little dogs and all,
Starting point is 00:12:10 you know, so, you know, smoke you got a bunch of cheese and dogs up, you know, little, the little bitty ones.
Starting point is 00:12:17 I got to buy one of them things for the dude can't. The roller? Yeah. Yeah. You need one. Hey, if you'll wait.
Starting point is 00:12:22 You just said he did nothing all week. If you'll wait, I bet me and Johnny Dee and Si would go in and buy you one for your birthday coming up. When's your birthday? September the 6th. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:31 About the time. this one. Yeah, don't buy one. We'll get it. I thought, no, I think I'm going to have the JD come over and cook me a big pan of chili and then let him roll the dogs.
Starting point is 00:12:42 He ain't coming by himself. I'm coming on. Yeah, we'll have a party. We'll shoot a whole podcast. We'll make Josh and Hunter bring all the camera equipment and everything. Oh, yeah, we'll go out. I'm in.
Starting point is 00:12:53 And relish and both. I'm in. Ooh, I love relish. Hmm. Relish is in. Relish. How was a crowd, Mississippi? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:01 You just said you did, hold on, he just said he did nothing all weekend and then rattled off a list of all sorts of exciting things. Hey, that's normal of what I do. He just put smiles on people faces and loses a bunch of money. Well, we run 2200 people. 2200. They took pictures who got autographed. Really? 2200.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Oh, hey, I bet you there was 10,000 there. I saw a old Mountain Dog was there too. Yeah, no, no. You talked to every time. I said, where's Mountain Dog? I looked down there and Mountain Man signed it. I said, where's an old Mountain Dog? I said, he's over a furrow somewhere over here.
Starting point is 00:13:37 I said, okay. Mountain Man still signing off. He didn't ever come talk to you. Huh? No, I didn't see it. He was in another building, I guess. I sure was hoping he'd come sit in your lap or something, I guess. What was it?
Starting point is 00:13:50 Mountain Man has a million followers on Facebook. Uh-huh. One million. He just got his page back, too. I noticed. Somebody, like one of his ex-old ladies or something, you know, he had a list the one that liver punched him stole his Facebook? I think so.
Starting point is 00:14:06 It was like, I ain't giving you your Facebook page back. That's where we're at in 2026. Somebody make your face, I ain't. He had to get rid of her, though. You fight the Facebook page over in the divorce, you know. He took her fishing and she fell in and he grabbed her by the hair and it was a wig. Well, that's a good idea. Anytime you're on a first date, you need to push her into water.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah. that's just that's just safe practices in the year 2026 you don't know what's really there hmm yeah that's facts wow and you're not just talking about hair yeah I could see that I could see that oh mountain dog mountain mansworld dot com that is an interesting cat y'all I ain't seen him him about kabuya that's it I ain't he's still pedaling at kabuya heaping a slow profile we're gonna have to call old Mountain Dog get him come back back here. Oh, good Lord. Cabuya ain't cheap. No. Well, somebody's making it in their garage.
Starting point is 00:15:06 And they're about to. They're proud of Caboia. Sitting there just stirring the spice. You know how long it takes him to put like Tony Sassar's label up? No, no. I didn't get talked to him. What did you just say? I was just kidding. That's mean. We need to have Mountain Dog. Book Mountain Man for your I'm going to book him for the duck call room somehow. That doesn't mean set up a merch table. I had a little girl come up. She was probably all, what, 12 maybe?
Starting point is 00:15:34 Yeah. And had curly hair. I mean, really curly hair. And I said, hey, come here. And she'll come around. I said, hey, you need to shave your head and have them make me a wig. Y'all, them in them, and her got clown around. She said, you wouldn't look good in curly hair.
Starting point is 00:15:53 And I said, what are you talking about? Girl, I look fabulous in curly hair. Oh, man. And I, as a crowd, they were dying laughing. Hmm. What an interesting. She said, you won't look good with curly hair. I said, yeah, I will.
Starting point is 00:16:05 What color was it? Huh? Curly. What color? What, brunette. Brunette. Yeah, I mean, curly. I don't think you could pull it off.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Red, red. Oh, no, I would look great with curly hair. Would you? Yeah. I look great with anything. man I'm pretty he doesn't lack confidence that's it oh man I didn't know he lost his Facebook yeah it got I'm telling you it it's like a divorce settlement thing or something she held it
Starting point is 00:16:36 hostage or somebody did we had to ask him about it I don't think y'all got a lot of old pushers on that thing if you're Facebook that's your Facebook side it's hell by your ex you might be a redneck there you go yeah that's one I had a flat top hey I got a question for you sigh what would you do like Last night I was giving the boys bath. Brittany was in there in the bathroom, getting her stuff put up, laundry and everything. And Whalen looked at her and said,
Starting point is 00:17:02 You can't take this? No, I need to ask what he would have done. You can't tell this story on the podcast? Why not? Hey, Kim, it was something about this kid. They can edit it if they want to, but Whalen looked at Brittany and said, Mommy, do you have a pop-up tallywacker like mine?
Starting point is 00:17:17 all I would say on that is my house of my house of baby you're going to get honesty he straight dead he said no my postrates bombing me I told him I've been looking for it for years oh man I don't like to see in Britney's face can you believe it or not it's probably one of the few times in her life, she was absolutely silent. Oh, yeah, I don't know what to say in those moments. Couldn't say she just looked at me and looked at them and then she just walked out. And I was like, hey, you got to answer him. Hey, you're going to answer, woman.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Boy, ask you a question. Yeah. He said that's your discussion, dad. Yeah, got me to thinking about future discussions and I was like, I don't think I'm cut out. Oh, yeah. I'm going to have to hire somebody to have that discussion. We're probably about to have a whole bunch of podcasts with
Starting point is 00:18:16 me with a six and fifth grade boy going in this year. Oh, yeah. We're going to have some material boys. That's good. We're planning all the speeches out right now. You schedule them or just planning? You better. We're planning them.
Starting point is 00:18:30 You better plan them and then. Planned. I'm just waiting for the moment that it makes sense. Cy, how'd that go with you and Scott? You know what? How'd that go with you and Scott? You know, the birds and the bees. I'm just curious because we got young men coming of
Starting point is 00:18:46 in all of our lives. Well. Did you handle that or you just? No, it didn't go very well. I bet you he didn't even talk to him. Well, he's got four kids, so he figured it out. Because you went to his mother, okay, and told her something. Oh.
Starting point is 00:19:03 And she told him, go talk to your father. Wisdom. Can't spell wisdom without that side. Oh, man. You peep your pestle in your pocket. That was filled. Don't be no trouble. Also.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Keep that thing in your pocket, boys. Won't be no trouble. Yeah. I don't know how to get in a pocket, but. You remember, I remember last week when I played that video, by the way? Oh, yeah. A feel on Duck Dynasty. I put it on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:19:31 People cracked up because it's hilarious. Oh. But Instagram translated it. You can, like, make Phil German. You can? For real? That's German. Phil? You want Italian Phil?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Japanese, Phil? Did they say cucumber? I have no idea what they said. Well, I assume they said something about it's okay if she's a little homely, but... Oh, they did me with that was Spanish. Oh, I've seen that. You in Spanish is hysteria. Yeah, the guy they chose to dub you was great.
Starting point is 00:20:13 He was good at his job. That was good. that was hilarious that was that was top tier i guess now though the people that used to dub people probably don't even have a job anymore no no they just AI that's AI it's AI it all now call it good we're all gonna lose our jobs oh yeah they're gonna make this podcast AI ain't gonna sweep it we won't even meet it's true uh yeah yeah i ain't gonna sweep him crickets out so yeah yeah but this podcast it'll just be this this is this is actually us AI well there's plenty of hours now that i guess they could just
Starting point is 00:20:45 training. Oh, they could make a fake us. Do you reckon they? Can we do that? Wait, and then we don't... Can't do that? No, I just want to do one and see what it comes up with. And then we'll watch it. I think that would be the first time I've ever watched. Us reviewing an AI version of the duck call room. I think that would be hilarious. Hunter for sure knows how to make that. Hunter's not here today. Well, Hunter's with us... Where is honey? He moved his girlfriend back down here. His girlfriend is a member of the 71291.
Starting point is 00:21:12 One. And we'll wait until he gets back. Huh. Discussed. To figure out. Oh, she left and then he's coming her back. Yeah. They were long distance.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Boom around. Oh, they were long distance. They're going to live on love. Living on love. Figuring it out. He was asking us a day about marriage. Oh, yeah? Yeah, we're working a hunter through some things.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Yeah. Yeah, we need to have a marriage discussion. See? We just did. A marriage. We needed to hear it. Counseling. Counseling, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Yeah. I told me I'd have one on the podcast. That's right. That's right. I told him the first thing. Well, that just fell. I don't know. A rubber band that I shot.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Oh. I thought it was a bug. I just assumed it was a spider. I thought it was that bug. He says, hey, something four-legged critter on my head. Oh, from last week. Oh, yeah. Was that last week?
Starting point is 00:22:01 I thought he's back. Side, where's your favorite place to wear them to Kovas boot? Well, on the dance floor, son? On the dance floor, but do you know what? You can wear them anywhere, can't you? What are you talking about? Yeah, that's how comfortable they are, right? It's like you don't have them on, boys.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Tukovus has boots for just about whatever you got going on this summer, like I was telling you can wear them anywhere. You won't go to wedding, going to go to the barbecue, won't go on a road trip, long weekend, doesn't matter because you can dress them up, dress them down. They look sharp, but they're still easy to wear for everyday life. Tukovus boots are handcrafted in over 200 steps with quality that you feel when you put them on. Ain't that right? That's right.
Starting point is 00:22:39 No stiff break-in periods, so they feel comfortable right out of the box. And Tocovus doesn't just have boots. Starting point is 00:24:03 oh he ain't gonna hit you I've seen him on the revival that's that's a toughie side hey well I understand what he is because he shot out, shot something that was supposed to blow up. No, he didn't shoot nothing. Well, the problem is, he, like, really missed that, like, my long, like, shot. Like, no.
Starting point is 00:24:23 And then they went up for a little. Like, no offense. No offense, but if I need something, God, he is not going to be my first call. No offense. Well, I'm just trying to think of it. And he may listen to this now that they hijacked our podcast at one day. Well, like, they just came in here and, like, got after it and just, like, made a short little like episode. But don't y'all worry, no cussing this time.
Starting point is 00:24:42 What, they've been talking trash about our podcast? No, they did it. No, they didn't talk trash about it. They did one. Them kids came in here and, like, did a podcast. Like, they all came in here and, like, got in here and, like, got on the microphones. And they, they, like, sat here. And when they were, like, here, they did, like a podcast.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Apparently, one of the comments is they said, like a lot. What I heard. No, no, no, they didn't say a like. What kind of radiance did it help? It was all right. It was all right. They did a good job. but like they said like every 7.4 seconds if you do the math oh wow yeah that's like a lot
Starting point is 00:25:21 done what oh that's like a second no that's like a problem i like they didn't want for seven seconds said the word like like like yeah oh like so they could repeat yourself a lot i think it well hold on there jack and the boys no no no no no that's right no no no no no no no no no Oh, I'm sorry. They said it seven point four times per minute. Seven times. Or once every eight seconds. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Wow. That's a bull right there. Who is that? The duck boys. That's who come in here and did it? Yeah, all the duck boys. Who is that? Well, who's all that?
Starting point is 00:26:00 One of them's older me, ain't? I only know two of the duck boys, Jacob and Christian. Who's the other ones? Will set here. All of Willie's offspring. Oh. My favorite comment.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Okay, the rest of Willie's crew. My favorite comment was that Will did a great job in my seat, and we both resemble each other. That is a direct quote in the comments. That's a direct quote, boy. It's in our blood. I can see it. Yeah. That Howard blood run deep.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Is it a hair? I don't know what it is. Just a hair, boy. It's that mullet. If you're driving and don't get the joke, he's adopted in black. Just rip the band-aid off. I don't know. I'm very white.
Starting point is 00:26:47 I'm like, I don't know. That was fun. Hey, Sai, you want to get heavy? Heavy. He's always trying to help people. He's my brother. He's not.
Starting point is 00:26:59 He did me heavy for years. It won't work. He used to be heavy. No, he means heavy is life. Do you want to talk about something serious? Yeah. You've been kind of wanting to go serious. Hey, well, let's talk about one thing serious real quick.
Starting point is 00:27:13 before we even, because I know what we're about to talk about, we will not talk about this after that. We need some water? The people, I do need some water, but. The fine folks of Oregon, I'm looking at you. Oh, yeah. Oh. They shot down the bill.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Well, hey, they got more sense than I gave them credit for. There you go. So the fine folks. Good work, Carl Organ. There you go. The fine folks of Oregon said, not a chance.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Not happening. Okay. So, remember when we had, we had like a therapist on my friend Emily came on first yeah then we had Dr. Lee then we had Dr. Lee right yeah so after emily's episode I get a message in my inbox and it said hey I know this is a long shot but I don't know where to turn right now I listen to all y'all's podcasts and it brightens my day he's in a very dark place right now and just grasping for anything I feel like my life is falling apart
Starting point is 00:28:10 and nothing is worth it anymore my wife wants to leave me and the only thing keeping me going in this world as my kids, but I feel like I fail them every day. I guess I'm really trying to ask for as prayers from you guys, because I know you all know the man, as Uncle Sai says. I want to know him, but I tried, but I failed miserably. I don't expect a response, but if you all could just keep me in your prayers, that would mean the world to me. That was in May. Well, May. May. I did respond. I just said, hey, man, I'll pray for you. Everybody goes through really tough times. Well, we put our faith in the Lord.
Starting point is 00:28:43 And then I said, I also don't think it's a coincidence. You sent this right after an episode about therapy and Christian counseling. Definitely, you should look into it for yourself. And if your wife's down, marriage counseling could save your marriage. So there's the message. And all that, this is, hey, look, this is belated. But it's okay to ask for help. Yep.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Well, wait. Okay. Because, hey, if you don't, well, that's, It's going to stay the way it is. Well, there's another message coming, Big Daddy. All right. So then, you know, we get some of those messages. I responded to that one.
Starting point is 00:29:20 I've forgotten about it. All right. So last week, I got a message from him. Oh, by the way, his name's Jamie. I asked if I could share this. I said, I won't use your name anything. And he said, no, say my name and say that I'm from West by God, Virginia. We talked more later.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Take me home. That was one of my buddies's favorite saying. and he was from West Virginia. I can play that. All right. Well, here it is. Here's the big one. So he, this is last week.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Yeah, last week. Update. I'm going to get straight to the point. I've been battling a gambling problem for many years, was hiding it for my wife, which I'm sure is the cause of all my marriage problems, that I asked for prayers in the last message. On Thursday, July 16th,
Starting point is 00:30:01 I'd made the decision that I was going to take my own life because I couldn't take the stress anymore. Whoa. Yeah. That's heavy. Yeah, we got heavy. Well, we've made it to be able to end up. Real quick. Something told me to call a gentleman that I only knew in passing at work a few times.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I told him everything and what I was going to do. That man drove 44 minutes at 11 p.m. that night to my house. He showed up, made me confess to my wife and prayed over my entire household. The next morning, this gentleman's pastor called me, and he saved me. I sat on my porch and bawled my eyes out for the next 30 minutes and cried tears of joy on and off in the days, two to three days following. I made whole again and will live my life for our Lord and Savior. Just wanted to share my testimony. God bless you and your family.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Please keep me in your prayers. There you go. Dude, the hair on my body is standing up, man. You come close to taking yourself out. Yeah. Yeah. Thank God he made that phone call looking for help. I'll tell you.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And hey, blessed the man that came, drove that 44 hour or 44 minutes, whatever. Yeah. Hey, you know, he was God sent there. young man. Yeah. Always. Okay, so, hey, look, the Almighty is watching over you. You know, hey, keep your eyes focused on Jesus.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Don't ever let that thought enter your mind again about harming yourself. Yeah. Okay. You're created in the image of Jesus himself. Okay. And that's important. Hey, from now on, walk together. Hey, every once I go out in the woods and actually walk,
Starting point is 00:31:40 and talk to your creator. Well, I do it all the time every year. But hey, don't harm yourself, man. Yeah. That's a big, I mean, that's awesome, man. Look at God. That's all the thing you say in time like that. Look at God.
Starting point is 00:31:55 Oh, hey. That man was sent. And I think we can all admit there's times we don't really. We don't really feel like coming up here and recording this thing, but you get messages like that and you're like, what we're doing is worthwhile. If people have never hit the low that you was talking about you are going through, they're lying.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Well, I think it's important to know that the guy that showed up to your house made you confess stuff to your wife. That's right. We talk about, we've already talked about poker on this one. Yeah. Me and Martin talk about throwing $10 at the World Cup. But I make sure Martin knows,
Starting point is 00:32:32 I got people that know how much money I've put into something like that. And it's about $100. That's it. So I can't get in no trouble. And if I lose it, it's gone. And so a gambling addiction, man, that's a tough part of it. Well, and in today's world, it's easy to hide too because you can do it all from your phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:50 You don't have to go to a casino anymore. You can go in there and act like you're taking a dump and you can bet your house on the freaking world series if you want to. Like, you know. And it's all rigged anyway. It sure feels that way now that you see all the odds and everything that happened in real time. Very rigged. It's all the WWE.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Oh, man. It's, uh, it is interesting. So yeah, no, good, man. And that's facts, man. If you're hiding something from somebody you love, whether it be your wife or your friends or something, man, it eats at you and it eats at that relationship. Give God the glory, my man. He's watching over you.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Well, I think that's why he said, say my name. Say where I'm from. Because he wants the accountability. We talked a little more. Yep. Yeah, that's good. You know, West Bag. You never know.
Starting point is 00:33:42 He may be able to help other people now that got in the same predicament he was. That's exactly right. So he can talk to him. Yeah. Where they can understand it's just like somebody that don't have that trouble, you know. We're all on these different health journeys. And none of us are trying to be superheroes. Nah.

Starting point is 00:35:24 Yeah, we all, all of our troubles are different. They all lead to the same place. And if you keep them to yourself, you may feel like there's only one way out and that way is never, ever. That's never a good way. Yeah. People want you here and people love you. It will eat you a lot. live, man.
Starting point is 00:35:45 That's cool, man. That's awesome. Jamie, West Virginia, Mountain Air. I love it that, hey, it's got a good end to the story, my man. Yeah. I'm just glad the country roads brought you home. Hopefully, you're back right with your wife and your family.
Starting point is 00:36:00 I'm sure they got some stuff to work through. Oh, yeah. Which is fair. Well, hey, ever, hey, look here. Everybody does. Yeah. They're in a marriage that ever happened that don't have no trouble.
Starting point is 00:36:11 But we do hope and pray for full restoration. that relationship. Communication is the key, my man. Yeah. And you did that. You opened your heart and your mind to them. And they came and take care of you. And God's watching over you.
Starting point is 00:36:24 I'm telling you. Yeah. So, hey. Walk high with your head high, man. Oh, he is. The messages he sent after that were all like, I'm going at this full board. I want everybody to know it.
Starting point is 00:36:37 That's fun time, man. When you see somebody converter. Oh, hey. And they turn into, they turn into Paul for a little while. That's fine, man. I mean, it really is. It's cool.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Oh, no, no. And if there are anything like the guy that made all this possible, PR, he just never quit. That's why when I, one side, I said, whoa. I mean, I knew it heard,
Starting point is 00:36:56 it came from Si, but I heard Phil. Like, that's why I giggled. Oh, that was always one of Phil's moves. You tell him a story and he goes, whoa.
Starting point is 00:37:06 So even though it came out of Sy, I heard Phil say it. That's why I giggle. I wouldn't, so any of y'all in the comments, say, during this, no, man, you got to, yeah, I read this message about three or four days ago, five days ago, yeah, so I already knew what was coming. I went laughing at the situation,
Starting point is 00:37:23 but yeah, when I heard Phil come out of sigh with the, whoa, nope, I said, good. Well, when Jayne said, hey, you want to get something heavy, I didn't know who it was going to be that heavy. Yeah, it didn't. Well, that's a heavy thing. And I think we have a podcast that can psych people out because they never, no one signed up for what we just talked about. No. So if you were just trying to get away for the real world for a minute and something like that is going on in your real world, talk to somebody. Amen. Well, I got to bring up one thing here.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yep. There's nothing more precious than a friend. Mm-hmm. Okay. And dude, that guy that drove the 44 minutes to come to you and then make you confess to your wife what you're doing wrong? That's a good dude there. That's a true friend. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Okay. Yeah, I bet it didn't feel like it while he was making you confess. Well, no, yeah. I mean, no, because I've been, I've been both of those guys. I've been the guy making somebody do it. And I've been the guy spilling my guts. And I remember one of them felt markedly better than the other. Oh, what you're talking about, Martin?
Starting point is 00:38:33 Yeah. One of those guys felt way better than the other one did. I mean, you hadn't always been the perfect husband, had to tell Britney's things. Oh, God, have mercy. No, sir. Oh, yeah, it sucks. Luckily for me, I have been perfect. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Luck and Allison. Yeah. The real winner. Ain't we all? Just kidding. Yeah. Ain't we all. Ain't none of us ever hid nothing or, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:54 I mean, it's just. In the year 2026 of our Lord, hiding stuff, no. Yeah. Not us. Hitting rock bottom telling your wife something she don't want to hear. It hurts her feelings. That's so much. Hey, I got news for all of us.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Hey, you thank you. You're hiding it. You ain't hiding nothing for them almighty. No. ain't hiding it. I ain't hiding it from the one that matters. That's for sure. But it will.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Doing that and trying to keep that in does eat away at every relationship in your life. It doesn't. And it starts with the relationships that you're closest, your most important relationships. And then they trickle out from there, right? Because I've seen people do it. I mean, it just, it does. So like confession is good. Well, that's like three times.
Starting point is 00:39:39 That's why God tells us to confess their sins because. Well, that's like to. three things faith hope and love the greatest one is love okay you are without hope and that man that come to you and made you confess to your wife what you was doing wrong he loved you enough to spend the time and the effort yeah okay because he thought you was worth it my man as you are and then it sounds like he got a man of the cloak involved yeah pastor of some sort a preacher and that's just And that's what people, I think sometimes we try and fix people on our own
Starting point is 00:40:17 when there's tons of people out there that, like, way more qualified. And this is the thing. Yeah, like, I ain't real qualified, but, I mean, I can point you to somebody that is.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Well, no, that's the key. I can be a really good yellow pages. Yeah. You all remember them? That's the key. I may not can help you.
Starting point is 00:40:36 Maybe Google. But I know the one that can. Yeah. Yeah, I can find you somebody. Okay. So I can, I can,
Starting point is 00:40:42 I can, point you to someone that will help you get to the one that I'm talking about. God, when you ain't ever walked through no rough spot, haven't. No. Oh, B. C.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Well, but today he looks so good he could try it through it. I could run through it. He'd be one in private dancers. Now we. Oh. Hey. Dancing on now.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Hey, we went from deep to strip. Yeah. Yeah. We're the only podcast. that could pull that one. Oh, yeah. Just John.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Well, we got size. Oh. Yeah. Oh, it's, that's a, I'm so glad
Starting point is 00:41:24 that dude made that phone call. Oh, I'm so glad that boy answered. It's such a healing when you do confess. You know, trying to hide stuff. Then you got to lie.
Starting point is 00:41:34 And you got to make bigger liars to cover your other lies. And that's one that I can't, I've never had a gambling problem. Uh, So I can't relate to that. But like, if you have that problem, I'm like, that sounds scary and just about anything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Because eventually you can't eat. Can't pay your house note. Like, once it gets to that point, he never really dove any deeper into it than that. But that is something like, I know we talk about it on here. But be careful if you even entertain it. Yeah. Yeah, that's a tough one. Yeah, you got to have, again, we.
Starting point is 00:42:12 bet on some stuff from time to time. Most of it is just for pure entertainment and to give us a reason to watch something that we wouldn't normally watch. But, yeah, I've never struggled with gambling at all. I realize I don't really care for the outright gamble. That's why I quit playing cards beside it. It went from a game of math to just an outright gamble.
Starting point is 00:42:31 And I was like, I'm out. Like, this is not fun anymore. We need to have a duck call room poker night. We've taken all skill from this game and it is just merely based on luck at this point. because everybody's all in the first hand, just flip them over, call it good. Am I wrong? I'll fix that. You get to the point.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Yeah. You know, we call it gambling, but it really is not as worse than bingo. Yeah, it's about the same odds as bingo. Yeah, it really is. Scratch off ticket. Your weights if somebody's job to bingo, okay? And I do love a scratch off ticket. It's one of my favorite things about Christmas.
Starting point is 00:43:06 I love getting my stocking from my mama because my mom still does it, And she put scratch-offs in all of our deal. But I don't have any desire to ever see another scratch-off unless it's a Christmas theme one. And then you scratch it off. You have fun and you do that. And then it's over. And then it's like you got $4.
Starting point is 00:43:25 And are you going to go buy the store and get four more dollars worth? Probably not. Nah. I'm going to buy a Dr. Pepper. Well, I don't drink those anymore. I could drink a whole case of them. But I'll probably get two Reese's Big Cups and call it good. Oh, that sounds nice.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Recy's Big Cup. You've been wearing them poncho shirts. My kids are wearing the poncho shirts. Martin's wearing the poncho shirts. Willie's wearing the poncho shirts. The thunder comes because we're all wearing poncho shirts. Pancho is a men's outdoor performance shirt that doesn't just look like one. You can fish in it.
Starting point is 00:43:58 You can hunt in it, wear it straight to dinner. You'll be looking sharp all day. I see about 100 every time I go to church because they're so comfortable and people look good at them. The fits dialed in. They're not tight under their arms. Starting point is 00:44:16 and comes with a built-in UPF 50 plus. Pancho shirts even have extras like a hidden zipper pocket, sunglasses holder, and built-in lens cloths. It's one of my favorite things. It just feels good when you wear it. My sunglasses are always dirty, and I'm like, boom, boom, with a little poncho lens cleaner inside of it. Look, try one.
Starting point is 00:44:34 You're going to end up ordering more. I can guarantee it. But, hey, you're going to like the way you feel. Gear up for summer with Pancho. Go to Poncho. poncho outdoors.com slash and enter your email to get $10 off and free shipping on your first order.

Starting point is 00:45:08 Yeah. Hiding any of it is terrible. You know, I mean, that just, it does. it affects every relationship you've got that's what i love about the first uh our church going down and praying for each other at the end of service that's that's pretty cool another part of feel i deeply miss when somebody would confess to phil because you better if you didn't want phil robertson to say it oh yeah you better not have told him he's had a few of manny he's got a few memorable once i have a story about a young john David Owen. I can't tell on this podcast.
Starting point is 00:45:44 It happened in a church building and Phil Robertson. Sure you can. You can tell it. No. Why not? We already talked about pop-up teleworkers. Well, there's kids that listen to this, and I don't want to be Phil. I would be the new Phil in the story, and kids are going to have to ask their parents what a word means. Because Phil said it 14 times in a prayer because a man was struggling with it. he comes to confess he's struggling with it that was he's wrestling no it wasn't me he's i didn't know what it meant he's wrestling with the devil who'd you ask one of my i was actually
Starting point is 00:46:26 i don't know that i asked but i was just like huh what's that what's he talking about and why's he keep saying all four syllables when it's only three no it's four but I'm telling you Phil had a way of adding an extra syllable to things Oh man Did it start with a P? No
Starting point is 00:46:51 No No Wait a asked Yeah Gobel remembers apparently Oh yeah I was there No
Starting point is 00:46:58 You weren't you earned a WFR back in them days Mac went down there It was like I love meth And we're like All right we love this guy We're gonna get them off that and then it just became open season on confessing. That is a crazy story though.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Mack, that's, that one's nutty. Huh? Yeah. Oh, they're telling you. Oh, I got that one. I'll do the impression.
Starting point is 00:47:27 It started with an M. There you go. Stop! I'll do the impression after we say cut. But it was a wacky. Man, how to be master of his domain. Hey, stop it.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Yeah. You're making Hunter's job hard. See, why would you say that? I don't know who I... Somebody's got to beat it out of him. Hey, somebody always punched his button when he got on one of him rants. I'm serious. And hey, here's the bad thing, man.
Starting point is 00:48:05 You couldn't cut him off either. I told you. It's one of the things I missed about it. Well, no, no, because y'all talk about his, I'm reading his daughter that he didn't know about. Phyllis, she wrote a book, and Phil gave her the title. Because when he met her, he grabbed her face in his hands. He said, I never knew.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Okay, but that's, that book was, was, So good for me to read because she was struggling as a teenager because she, her parents, she knew something was wrong. Yeah. Because she didn't look like none of them. And then she did something that nobody understood would look at her weird. Okay. But what got me was the whole time she's going toward God.
Starting point is 00:49:04 And so is Phil Robertson because that was when he was 20, and running with the devil. Yeah. Okay, but what got me was the parallel journey that they had together yet separate, but they were going till the Almighty, and it's so unique and just wonderful, God had all this worked out from the beginning. That's what we need to have on. No.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Phyllis. Well, hey, we'd be invited us for sure. Phyllis. Because it would be, you know, I mean, I'm crying now, listening to all these stories we're talking about Phil. Yeah, and I was crying while I was reading the book. Because you've got to think about it, okay? When Phil was, from birth to 28, that's pre-Jesus. He's running with the devil.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Okay, and I'm telling you, I'm as his brother. He didn't give a flip about me and treated me like trash. He didn't give a flip about himself and treated himself like trash. Oh, yeah. And he'd tell you that. Okay, and he would tell you himself. He never did. He didn't care.
Starting point is 00:50:19 Well, and, you know, when you look at somebody and then see him change, I mean, drastically. He don't have no goals for yourself or anything else. Well, you don't care about nothing because, you know. You're like Abel, just wondering. Yeah, you don't know what you're doing to begin with, okay. Yeah, but anyway, but it was just so plain while I'm reading it that they're both on a journey going toward God for the same reason. Because it healed both of them when they met. Yeah.
