Starting point is 00:00:01 They got a free donut with a Yoo purchase at Casey's. Casey's rules, by the way. There's nothing better than a good gas station. I know. I wish there was. I got good coffee. I know that. Who's that?
Starting point is 00:00:19 T.J. from Johnsboro, Maine. Who is Casey? I drove to Oklahoma. Let me tell you. We get on Oklahoma highways. You can put it on 85. And move.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Moose the silk. But you better not need gas. Move out, boys. No, there just ain't nowhere. Oh, yeah, on them turnpikes. Not until you get off. Yeah. You ever notice them turnparks are awful straight?
Starting point is 00:00:46 Ain't no loving over home on. Not many turns. Just until you get to a town. Why is it a turnpike? What's a pipe? That's a fish. That is a good question. This is always on Goblin's mind.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Why is it a turnpike? It's a northern pike. When it goes straight? Yeah. And why do you park on a driveway? What's up? Drive on a parkway. That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Drive on a park. That's what I want. Turnpite. It doesn't make any sense. No. But you know what does make sense? Have any duck stamp on your phone? That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Digital. Yeah. And look, you just need to head over to duct tape. Because I had all my lessons on my phone and my duct stamp in a pack in the stinking blind. Well, you don't have to worry about it now because you go to duckstamp. And you can put that duck stamp right there by that picture of Ms. That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:31 You never forget either one of them. That's right. You know who's getting this duck stamp on me? my phone this week? Who? Carta. Oh, he don't need one. But you can get him one.
Starting point is 00:01:41 He doesn't, you don't have to get him one, but you can. But you can't. To commemorate his first one. Oh, you got a habit for your first one. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:01:48 there you got. Everybody remembers their first. There you go. He said about it when he was born. A duck stamp? Yeah. He's got a lifetime license. There you go.
Starting point is 00:01:57 I got him that. Well, my mom got him that when he was one. There you go. That's the best money you can spend for a kid. It's home. We're here. here, baby. We're here.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Our duck stamps are digital. Of course, we already been sitting in a tree. College football is great. Yeah. How about the NFL, too? NFL is. It's going to be great, but it turned out great. College football's better.
Starting point is 00:02:17 I've turned the leaf. College is better. I've never been that guy, and I'm willing to say it. What, the college football is better? It is. For the first time in my life, I will say it. Yeah. Well, it's kind of now to the day with NIL stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:31 It's like semi-pro. And they don't throw as many flags every place. and it's just, it's better. No, it was a rough weekend to be married to a Tennessee fan. I just don't have a team, and I want to be a Tennessee fan with Brittany, but it just seems well, you've been able to say so long. It ought to be an easy transition. Georgia would just slide on over there.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Georgia would come back and beat them, didn't it? That's horrible. They did. But it was a good football game. It was good. I felt bad for Brittany. You know my favorite part about when LSU and Tennessee and teams like that play? What?
Starting point is 00:02:58 The Iron Cactus is wide open. You walk in, you don't have to wait. You just sit down. Because my wife ain't going to watch football anyway. as well go get good Mexican food. There you go. It's arguably my favorite time. No, it is my favorite time here.
Starting point is 00:03:10 We're not there yet, though. We're close. We're on the doorstep. We can see it. It is still 97 outside, but there are some leaves starting to fall. They don't really change colors here, sadly, for all you people that get to see, like, all the cool colors. Art just kind of go from green to brown to gone, which is unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:03:28 They've gone quick, too. Yeah, when they do leave, they leave. They hold on forever, but when they leave, they leave. When our leaves leave, they leave. They leave. They don't. No, man, it's a great time of year. It's, we're here.
Starting point is 00:03:40 I could hear y'all if I put this on. You ain't got to. And you hear? Well, you don't need to. Is the fall the greatest season in the world? That's different. Is it? What does it sound like?
Starting point is 00:03:52 Somebody had a little head and had it go. Who was there last? Brittany. Yeah, that checks out. She does have a small head. Yeah, I don't. Nope. I got a big one.
Starting point is 00:04:03 So. Sight, is the fall your favorite time of year? Oh, that's okay. Okay. Yeah. Well, what's your favorite? Spring? Life.
Starting point is 00:04:14 None of them matter to sign. I said life. I can tell you what's not. His favorite, winter. Winter, not. A man likes to be warm. At 77, he just wants to be warm now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:26 From about January, mid-January to March 1st, that's just a bummer. Yeah. Yeah, because all the hunting. seasons close, but it's still so cold. You can't go off. From now till Thanksgiving. Ah, the white parts are biting. That's the use.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Yeah. There you go. And look, I just want to take this moment to. January. To apologize to anybody, if you run across me and my kids and you see them peeing out wherever we are, we are deep in the throng of potty training. So if they say that they got a pee, we stop and pee wherever that is. So if you see me pulled over and my kids out there where their pants around their
Starting point is 00:05:02 wrinkles, just drive on by laugh and wave because I'm trying to quit paying for so many dead gum diapers. Hey, it's freedom. It's a bunch of freedom, boy. Hey, Johanna's fixing to have a diaper, what do they call them things? A diaper party? Uh, shower. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Yeah. Good. Get them all. Don't worry. Don't, don't, don't, don't get a bunch of them newborns, though, because they get out of those pretty quick. Yeah. Go heavy on them onesy, onezy, two Zsies.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Onezies Tuesdays. Onezies Tuesdays. they stay in them for a hot minute. But now mine have decided to camp out in fives, and I'm ready to get them out of there. We had a good weekend until yesterday, and then I got peed on. Oh, you ain't living to you.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Well, it happened. Yeah. Has any of them peed over your head yet? No. Oh, this one just peed in my lap while we were riding the Kawasaki area. Oh, okay. He got so excited, he forgot he had to pee.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I've been peed on many times. He just peed. He just peed on him and me. Have you been to Broken Bow? No. Oklahoma. They got this big maze there. You pee there?
Starting point is 00:06:03 No. Oh. But your kids might have to. You can. The problem is it's a maze. You can't. Okay. Where's it at?
Starting point is 00:06:12 Somewhere up there in Broken Bow. You ever been to? There's a man. And it's like... I've been up there. Yeah. It's 10 foot tall wall. So I don't know how to get out of here.
Starting point is 00:06:22 And my kids didn't know how to get out of there. And Lottie was like, I'll just get on your shoulders. And I was like, that's cool. Oh, as you can see what you're going. She peed on your shoulder. Oh. Hey, that's why that's, I'm on it. head of that giraffe up there
Starting point is 00:06:34 where I can see where I'm going. You can't get out of the maze and they wouldn't. I mean, you eventually got to go to the bathroom in the maze. I didn't, yeah, I didn't get.
Starting point is 00:06:40 I don't do mazes anymore. Yeah, I would think that getting peed on on their shoulders is a different level of violation than he was just sitting in my lap. Carter almost peed on my head one time. You know my kitchen?
Starting point is 00:06:51 How it's up off the ground? Yeah. And there's like seven steps up to it. Yeah. One time I was walking under, you got to walk past the door, then you go up the stairs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I felt a presence. above me. A presence above it. It was a presence. And I looked up and there was just an arch. It was an arc. Going from the kitchen, out the kitchen door all the way to the wall. Was it an angel?
Starting point is 00:07:13 No, it was Carter's urine. Oh, okay. It was impressive. I tried later. Didn't make it that far. It didn't get on. Well, there was some splatter that touched me. Not as much pressure.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Yeah. The pressure's gone. We literally have talked about everything. So, when does the pressure? I wouldn't talk about everything because I didn't talk about R. Kelly when that was a perfect time. About who?
Starting point is 00:07:40 I'd go into that concert. Sight, when does the pressure completely go? I've noticed it's dropping. Well, no, you don't have to ask somebody about that. Oh, probably only you die. What? No, it sounds like a... I've heard you.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Yeah, it sounds like a build... Your pressure is gone. No, it ain't gone. It is gone. Like, I'm just saying, what? You had to start straddling the toilet instead of standing back. Y'all leaves this whole way alone.
Starting point is 00:08:04 I can confirm that at 40, you want to get a lot closer to it than you used to have to. Yeah. Yeah. Just wait. At 36, I'm not one of them. I'm seeing it. I'm not one of them that's got to walk up to it yet. You know, like get on it.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Okay. You've got to get closer than you used to. Okay. Because you used to, you know, you splash it everywhere all over. You got too close. Now, uh-uh. I'm just checking. You can slide on up there.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Well, that's a fun. Like we were in public the other day, and Waylon said, go TT in the urinal. So I was like, okay, let's go, buddy. I like it. What the first thing he wants to do, they had a little stool in there. He got up on the stool.
Starting point is 00:08:42 First thing, I see them hands. No, no, no, no. Them hands headed straight for that urinal cake. And I'm like, no, no, no, no. So there I am holding a naked boy up like this. You know, like, because for some reason, I don't know, is this all? They ought to have hinal bars hanging up there.
Starting point is 00:08:58 They can't, for some reason, they can't pee with clothes on. Like shirt got to come off. Like all the things. It's about freedom. I'm telling you. I don't get it yet. But like it's like me naked so I can pee. Hey, freedom.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Yeah, I don't like, I don't like that. But any, I mean, I don't know. I don't like peeing naked. I don't know if there's any potty training advice, but I'm interested. You just got to let them go. That's what, yeah. I mean, that's what we're doing. The best way to potty train a boy is the exact same way you train a dog.
Starting point is 00:09:28 You open the back door and you give them. them candy when they come back inside a barrel on the door hana you do what you do what uh trump tower did for jayst you take them outside yeah yeah well they just right this way so enjoy god's creation you come by my house between 730 and 8 p.m there's going to be generally dueling banjos of you know almost three-year-old kids peeing in the front yard well i don't know why they like the front yard that's about the backyard but they want to go at the backyard no they want to the front one they're at that age they They've got it. They're floating it.
Starting point is 00:10:02 They can't say who's going down the road in the back yard. That's true. All right, look, springtime is here. It's warming up. You know what that means. That means more outside cooking. And y'all know we love to eat beef around here. And that's what because of our friends over at Tritels beef makes such a good product, baby.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Ain't it good? It's so good. Our friend, Sao Robertson would say, buy on the grill! Look, before we got Tritels, getting ready for a cookout, man, somebody had to run the grocery store, do all the things. grab whatever was left in case you were late in the day. And you never really know where that beef comes from. But with Tritales beef, we skip the grocery store and do it a different way.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Tritails comes from a family ranch out in Texas. They're a fifth generation American ranch. So they've been at it for a while. Now, look, the beef comes straight from their ranch and other ranchers they work with who raise cattle the same way. Their steaks are properly aged and shipped straight from the ranch to your door. We threw a couple of ribbys on the grill. look salt pepper garlic hot fire that's all you need look because i tell you what when the beef comes
Starting point is 00:11:07 from people who raise cattle for a living you can taste the difference the tenderness and the flavor are fantastic so if you're stocking the freezer for grilling season go check out try tails beef i know in size case christine loves it which is just a uh she doesn't eat me yeah just go to try beef dot com slash that's try beef dot com slash duck support ranch families and eat some dang good steak. We are a child's podcast. That's why I pay. That's where I pay.
Starting point is 00:11:38 That's where life is right now. You pee off. Oh, man, that's awesome. Every morning. I cannot pee off my front floor. I think that's why. I think that's why everyone that buys a new house,
Starting point is 00:11:48 I always go out and go pee off the back boat the first time to do. Well, yeah, you got to mark your territory. You're just like a dog. I mean, every dog that comes by piss on the mailbox, you're doing the same thing. Let them know what you're. This is America, boys. This is about freedom.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I can't pee off either If I want to be off the back porch is facing the woods I wish Jeff and Jessica would go back to Texas for another year or two just so I can pee off my back porch again But when I'm I'm looking straight at them When I do it every once in a while If it's dark enough
Starting point is 00:12:17 I'm getting a bind But I make sure their lights are off I say I'm the kind of guy that would call Jeff And say hey look over here That's right Yeah Me and Jeff are close but we're not that close Why people call you him all the time
Starting point is 00:12:31 I figured that'd be, you fight fire with fire. Say, hey, can you still do this? I mean, you got like 20 years on Jeff. That's true. I'm going to text him tonight. Say, watch you. Somebody called me to this in the airport. Boy, come up to me and said, you're Jeff.
Starting point is 00:12:46 I said, okay. No. We have one of them red and white sticks. Okay. No. I mean, he should have. Yeah. I said, no.
Starting point is 00:12:53 If they call a new Jeff. I know. There's a lot of people you could be confused for. I said, I know. But yeah, you and Jep, that's a tough one. I don't know how you get to that. I'm trying to find it. True fan.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Big, biggest fan. I love the Robinson so much, Mr. Jep. Yeah. Yeah. I said, no. I ain't Jep. I've been called Gobwin a many of times, and it always puzzles me. But I guess on that, they got a 50-50 chance of the ones that ain't in the family.
Starting point is 00:13:24 You're the two ancillaries. As long as I don't get called Mountain Man or Jimmy Red. Oh, Lord, have mercy. There was a Duck Dynasty thing. other day on Facebook they posted it and it was like shout out to the I think they called it ancillary characters of duck dynasty and it was like a clip of me then mountain man and I was like this is a good company you've made it Jimmy Redd I was like I fit in here at all the difference is you're actually related I'm still ancillary sir I will take that and run with it I take great pride
Starting point is 00:13:56 in that well if you're ancillary what does that make me and gobbling because I would have put us in there too. Nah, y'all, y'all were a full-time employee cast. That like A, B, C, after C is ancillary? Is that? Yeah. I don't know if you heard. We made it.
Starting point is 00:14:12 We have arrived. Boy, look at there. Did we? Ain't that something. If you're peeing off your front porch, you really have, though. Oh, yeah. Well, my front porch is facing the woods. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Guy one, yeah, Godwin's front porch is. You can't see nothing there. No. I'm confused. Yeah. The way his house lays. out like you pull into the side of gobbled that's right okay i get it i would have just called that you're right well that's what paula calls at the front and she calls the back by the shop the back
Starting point is 00:14:43 but it's actually the side i would i see where you're coming from and i agree with her but if you pee out of your garage that would be fun because you've got that steep driveway you can make a pretty good trail all the way down here oh yeah 13 minutes into peeing well i'm That's just where my life is right now. It just about takes that long the older you get. That's terrible. Not as quick as it used to be. I can't even, like, fill up with gas before I get bored.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I can't do that. I know. I'd be sitting there and thinking, okay, when's this going to stop? That's why he has a cup of coffee. You ever hide yourself for saying, when's this going to stop? But also, when's this going to start? You make fun of them? You make fun of them?
Starting point is 00:15:27 I don't have a problem. When their kids and then when they get old, you make fun of them. them again. I'm pretty sure we just make fun of everybody, side. The most important is we sit here and make fun of ourselves too. So we try not to take ourselves too seriously in here. But that's,
Starting point is 00:15:42 yeah, man, I don't really know where to go other than... Really hung out on peeing for a while. I do. I know every time you're on here, I know even on my social media, people are always wondering about updates
Starting point is 00:15:53 of your grand youngs. How are we producing? Everything's still going good? Look, I took her to, I got to go and watch put that transducer thing on her belly again. Did you just call timeout?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Yeah. Did you just call the ultrasound machine a transducer? Yeah, it's live scope. Ultrasound, that's what it is. Yeah. Live scope. I forgot what it was called. But that's what it reminded me.
Starting point is 00:16:18 You might be a transducer. You might be right. No, it is. Oh, it is. They do the same thing. Shoot out waves and send back a picture. I always. One of them.
Starting point is 00:16:29 They'd mash on her bed. and that one, she's got them named. I can't tell them. They look the same. Baby A and baby B. They'll push her. She pushes with her feet. She's a kicker.
Starting point is 00:16:44 No, no. That's what amazing. Because the first time I watched when Tracer kicked a plate off of my wife's belly. Boom. And you just, I mean, I mean, not, you know, this was like an NFL kick and a field go. Yeah. This sucker left the belly and went through the air, you know. And then I'm looking and look, you can see the footprint on our belly.
Starting point is 00:17:09 What? That's wild. Oh, yeah. They say they were they supposed to be. Everything's going good. There ain't no baby-to-baby transfusions and no surprises. No surprises. That's good.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I'm jealous. Everything. Well, the prayer. When I'm about four days ahead of them. Well, the prayers are working. Oh, and like length. Every time I think about it, I'll say a prayer for Joanna. Yeah, that's what are they kind of?
Starting point is 00:17:36 Air bubble, air bubble, belly bubble, some bladder bubble. Are you looking at that? It's been a while since I've had children. I don't know. That's what they say is. That's still just amazingly that the human body. No, they're girls.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Makes room for all of that to be on top of her, all of her intestines and everything. or just it it blows my mind. Times two. Yeah. No, no. It's just,
Starting point is 00:18:06 like I said, these eggs are growing. Mm-hmm. Yeah, they beat. Yeah. So she got about eight more weeks. That's it?
Starting point is 00:18:17 Two more. Where is time going? No, no, no. No, no. That's about the same week. There we go. Yeah. I think,
Starting point is 00:18:25 I think, I mean, I have felt like times moving at a diabolical rate right now, but when you see, I said that I've missed the last 10 weeks. She's a little past halfway. See, a little past halfway.
Starting point is 00:18:36 That's good. Yeah, so a couple more weeks to viability and then let them cook. Come in there as long as they were in there. They said that looked like, I forget what she said something, but it said it looks like they'll go longer than what they thought. That's awesome. Because they was thinking they was going to have to do something at like, the end of December.
Starting point is 00:19:03 What will they do if they get you? They do the middle of January. January? Maybe the first of the year. Yeah. That's easy. That's awesome. December 31st will be perfect.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Yeah. For them, yeah, because they can claim them on taxes. Yeah. January 6, Lottie. Good work. Yeah, those sting a little more. We ain't really figured that thing out is why we stopped.
Starting point is 00:19:28 The order came out about half-baked. body came out about six days late you know we were like we've had enough of this Russian roulette yeah I can remember God's butt fit in my hand his booty fit in your hand his butt fit in my hand how much did he weigh you remember oh good of it wasn't much about two pounds I think maybe oh wow yeah oh no it was ridiculous
Starting point is 00:19:54 so he was super early yeah yeah that's crazy we we the prayer's the same keep trucking along and hold them in there as long. Hold the line. Hold that tiger. Hold them in there as long. I'll never forget the doctor, y'all. He had to take God into surgery, you know.
Starting point is 00:20:14 And when he calls me and Christine in there, I said, well, I apologize for you. I said, you apologize? For what? Yeah. And he said, because you need to know about it. Yeah, I said, no, you did what you have. to do to save him. So I,
Starting point is 00:20:31 you don't owe me no apology. Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Save him, save him. Hey, hey,
Starting point is 00:20:38 sir. There ain't no apology needed, do you know, an apology you needed. I said, yeah, last person you're going to want to, you know,
Starting point is 00:20:47 do what you got to do. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All they'd be. She said, she ain't never been so sick and hungry at the same time. I can,
Starting point is 00:20:59 I can, I can't confirm. with Brittany, she never got full. Like, she got to a point where she would quit eating because there was just no more room, but her, like, her hunger was never satisfied during the twin pregnancy. It was the craziest.
Starting point is 00:21:14 But, you know, you put, you know, you put a tablespoon of food down and she's like, I'm about the bus. I mean, because there's, you know, 15 pounds of the kids inside there. That whole process blows my mind. It really does. What else you've been doing, go?
Starting point is 00:21:32 Miss Paula. She, is Ms. Paula begun nesting with them yet? You don't have grandparent names? Oh, good, do we? Yeah, what are you going to be called? Well, everybody all calls me duck and calls her Paco because Carly couldn't say Paula when she was little she called her Paco, so. Paco?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Everybody calls Paula Paco and me, Duck. Okay. I hope that sticks. Dup and Paco. I like it. A bit of a deviation from the. memos and the pap balls of the world, but I love it. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Well, there ain't many mammals and papas love. Everybody's trendy now. Everybody got to make all their own things. I mean, that's what Alex's kid. Yeah, called us and everybody. There you go. All the kids.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Are you papal? No, he's the Poonpaw. Pumpa. He's a, remember he's that. Yeah, the German. The German. And Omaha. Omaha and Pumpa. What do they call your daddy?
Starting point is 00:22:32 Papa. Papa, which is what I called him my whole life. Yeah. What's up, Papa? And then just all the kids stuck with it. He's got a real Papa look about him. I call my grandpa. Grandpa, G. Paul.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Well, I wanted to get my hunting license from him. I got tickle it, Dave. He got me $5. He'd come walking outside. He said, I didn't even know that was you. He said, let me give you a hug. I said, I don't need a hug. Dave, I said, what?
Starting point is 00:23:01 I was going to go out to Dave, I don't need to. hug. I said, I'm good. Hey. Big Dave's, Big Dave's a teddy bear these days. He grew up a grizzly. Well,
Starting point is 00:23:11 because he hasn't seen me a long time. Yeah. He wanted to give me a hug. Hey, 10 out of 10 recommend if you get bored one day, go sit up there to that table with him. Well, no. You will laugh, buddy. Well, no, no.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Just telling you. Because that's what I grew up with down at the store. Yeah. Okay. And, and. Y'all need some boat parking. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:33 We need a lot of things. Yeah. I can't pull in there. You ain't got much room in there. Right. Yeah. It ain't got much parking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:41 It's a situation we're looking at. Yeah. Not much to look at, but. No parking, but they added another container for stuff. But you were talking about that. It was a lot. It was a lot of kidding and ribbing each other. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:23:56 And a whole bunch of laughter. Well, that's what happened when you walked in. Because all of a sudden I hear, I thought, no offense to the crazy fans out there but I thought well who is this person because I couldn't see it somebody walked in and goes
Starting point is 00:24:09 where's Martin and I was like who is this? Yeah who's it? I'm here looking for Martin got us confused and then James that worked for us
Starting point is 00:24:18 was like I don't know what to say oh Jimmy and he got I think he got a little starstruck James said Martin ain't been here in a month and then I said oh it's Sai and then dad heard him and said I'm gonna give Sye hug and then Sall's like nah bro
Starting point is 00:24:31 yeah big day's cuddly now man Well, I mean, just, it's, you know, that's a robberness thing. What, you don't like hug? Well, give him a man. Oh, look at that. He's not. Why are you still? No, no.
Starting point is 00:24:44 I remember the first time, though, the Phil, when he got his life straight with Jesus. And a man hugged him. Oh, I thought he was going to say Phil hugged him. No, no, the look on Phil's face, you know, and then, Kay said, hey, look, there's nothing wrong with him. He loves you. He's saying he loves you is all you're saying. You know, now that I think back on it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I obviously never hugged Phil. Yeah. That would be weird. Yeah. I think I've hugged every old man at church but Phil. I'm just trying to remember if Phil and I and our relationship ever even shook hands. Wasn't a lot of, wasn't a lot of contact. No, no, no, probably is not.
Starting point is 00:25:27 You know, I slept on his couch. I did all the things, but I don't know that we ever. intentionally touched. I don't know that I've ever physically touched Phil Robertson now that you say that. Well, I mean, getting in a duck blind me crawling through them little tiny things. I definitely touched him.
Starting point is 00:25:42 But like, I don't think that any of it, you know, well, he did use me as kind of a ladder one time to cut a limb where he kind of, you know, put a foot on my shoulder. And that would have been intentional. But that's about it when it comes to intentionally touch it. It was always a means to an end. It was never, hey, buddy.
Starting point is 00:26:02 God, when you ever hug, Phil? No. You did shake his hand? You did shake his hand? Say, I don't know that we ever, I don't know, maybe, I don't know. I don't remember one, I'll say that. He'll just give me the whole two finger. Oh, yeah. That was a shan handshake.
Starting point is 00:26:17 When you got within five feet of him, he stopped you with a nod. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, don't come anymore in my face. Yeah, it was, uh, yeah. He would stop you with a nod in your name, Martin. And that was it. And it's like, he's like, I alert. alert. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So when that guy... Don't get in my face. When that guy hugged Phil, he didn't... Did he come like hug you later? Hey, no. That was... But Kay, yeah, I got so tickled at Kaye trying. Because the look on Phil's face was,
Starting point is 00:26:47 that boy squirley. And Kay said, you don't have to go there. This man just, he loves you. He's a brother for crying out. Ah, look at there. It was... It was for a laugh.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And she just had, you know, she said, when are you going to get over? You got a phobia about this, you know. And he probably did. He really did. Because, you know, anything, what about emotional, any kind of emotional showing. Yeah. No, that's out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Phil had a really good grip on you, though, when he's baptizing you. Oh, no. From what I watched. He never let anybody go. he would allow that touching, like the grabbing of his arm and stuff like that. But when he was doing it, he was thinking about how bad he was. Uh-huh. So he said, I'm going to hold this sucker down a little longer.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Well, it's so funny thing about it, too, when you look at the difference between him and Kay, like, never did that with Phil. And Kay, I bet I hooked her three times a day when I was in there. When you got there, after lunch as a thank you, and then before you left. Yeah. And, you know, you got three solid hugs a day. And especially when she had handed you your checks and hold that for three days. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:02 Don't cash you until Monday. That's right. Don't cash this. She started that pull back. Yeah. You're sitting there holding. You're sitting down.
Starting point is 00:28:09 You're doing this. She's got the hole or you got the whole of her. You're going to let it go. Okay. He said, I will. I got to tell you about that. Just wait until it clears. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Wait until it clears. Oh, wait until that, that, that, Tiner Pitcher's order, I got to, I'm going to give him a deal. Nah. That wasn't a 10 hundred Pachers ordered.
Starting point is 00:28:30 That was me, and that was cash. I was the one doing that. Okay. That's how she paid for family vacation. Golf shores. Yeah. Old golf shores. There's so many any crazy stories, though,
Starting point is 00:28:43 for the people that run through Cays and Phil's house. Boy, you can say that again. Yeah. A man, yeah. We can start an epic mini series on that. They was always, always drawn dogs, drawn to her. Especially stray ones. And then Phil was it was other people, especially stray ones.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yeah, they both had a knack. Yeah, for those that, you know, just. They both had a knack for collecting things with fleas, ticks, heartworms. That needed a lot of help. Just the touch of the man. Hey, you know what? I was one of them.
Starting point is 00:29:28 No, no. I'm talking about myself as much as I'm going to know about anybody. Hey, I've been with them for like, you know, we started, Ben and Kay started when she was 14, I was 13. Mm-hmm. She was just the older sister is all she was. Oh, yeah. But did any of your brothers, so you're not a hugger, Phil's not a hugger, were any other brothers and sisters hugging? Oh, no, no, because look, well, I don't tell you about Jim and Frank and Harold, both of them was mean.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Yeah, I know they weren't. Specifically, Jan was Jennifer. Tommy was, you know, he was, uh, Tommy Tommy knew what he wanted to do when he was like a teenager. Here's what I say about Tommy. You could tell that he was a coach
Starting point is 00:30:11 slash principal slack because every time you, like every time you'd see Tommy for the first time that day, he would try to break your hand shaking it. Like Tommy, he wanted to let you know, I still got it, son.
Starting point is 00:30:24 And like, he's thinking, it may be a little snow on the roof top, but I still got you. So I still take it. I still take you. But you can tell Tommy come from that world of like shaking people's hand, like his job and his life and all that thing.
Starting point is 00:30:38 That was part of who he was. I do remember that about old two gun Tommy. And good luck out working him, man. Like right now going into 10 seasons, I'd love for Tommy to ride up one more time because he'd have that blind brush so fast, man. Well, Tommy didn't know how to relax. No.
Starting point is 00:30:55 No, he'd like a lithium battery. He's not going to relax. if he comes to your house for anything. Yeah, he'd about to start fixing something. Yeah. Oh, I need to go. Something fixed. He's fixed to do something.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Yeah. He's about to fix something and he's going to leave with something of yours. Yeah. And think it was his. It wasn't intentional. Yeah, he had called and say, hey, have you got my jacket? I know. He called me one day.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Well, I got three over here. Yeah. And none of the three are mine. You know, and I said, well, yeah, that lays as much. I say, we got our name on every one of them. Yeah. And they're all of them. Of course, then, they do all look the same.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Yeah. Yeah. Yep, that famous line. You got mine? No, Tommy, why would I? Well, I got your gun. I had your gun one morning. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Tommy was probably the most normal one, okay? Because he showed emotion and, you know, and everything. But all the rest of them, you showed emotion. Hey, yeah, that was weak. He's talking about Robertson men. Obviously, Jan was. Well, you show emotion. Oh, no, no.
Starting point is 00:32:00 You had a big hugger. I was a throwback. Yeah. Mama used to say her and Phil will throwbacks because of their feet. Because Mama's feet would you look back just like feels. Oh. When you say throwback, do you mean like throwing a garbage? Well, no, no, just like another time.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I should say it's still throwback old school. Old school. Okay. Because I didn't know where you was going with bad feet. I didn't mean if that meant like discard you or? No. Well, hey, some of us may have been discarded. Yeah, them side, please.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Daddy had them side, cleats. There's on the man I know that could go up a muddy slope. Daddy had them. Okay, nobody else could make it. He had that raptor talent on the side of his feet. He had mud grips. He had mud grips for feet. Yeah, we really should have looked at him and seen if that was a six toe or not.
Starting point is 00:32:50 You know, like that would have been more study. What was that? It was wild, man. It would bust smooth out the end of the year. Well, his toe, his big toe actually. fit over his the next one. Uh-huh. And that knob would come.
Starting point is 00:33:04 No, no. And the knob would come straight out to shoot. No, no. The knob was like this. Like I kind of. On the side. He's holding an entire statue of Black Panther. Hey, it was that big round on the side of his foot.
Starting point is 00:33:17 He always told me you got to get a size bigger sheet and your feet will be warmer. Well, no. That was just so he could get his foot in a sheet. No, no. That's what I feel. That's what he said cause it is because of your horse shoes. We got a lot of handy. downs.
Starting point is 00:33:33 And he wore shoes and were too little for him. Is that what did it to his feet? He said that's what did it. That's why when he finally made it, he said, I'm always going to get a pair too big. He never going to be a month. That's why he, yeah, he always. He was at 12, wasn't he? Yeah. Well, he was a 12
Starting point is 00:33:49 and a 2X. So he was really an 11 and a large, but my man. That man was not a two X ever. He wasn't in my tight shirt. But buddy, he did not He wanted to wear like a pillowcase or a bed sheet or something. I don't remember what it was, but it wasn't camouflage. He comes in the blind one morning and Chase says,
Starting point is 00:34:12 what you got there, Dad? He said, what are you talking about? He said, what is camouflage optional these days? Oh, that was opening day. Yeah, he wore a red flannel. Yeah, yeah. He wore a red flannel. No face paint.
Starting point is 00:34:28 I was like the most No no I laughed at Jay's because Jason I guess camouflage is optional
Starting point is 00:34:36 he told me my beard flared duck and he coming there with red flat mm-hmm that's just
Starting point is 00:34:43 what I thought the picnic table the man would spray paint or broke off limb yeah if you cut a limb
Starting point is 00:34:51 yeah the next thing you'd hear was pss yeah you're talking about paranoid
Starting point is 00:34:57 well If you broke a limb yourself, the first thing you heard was easy on my brush. That's right. He had that line. He said, you know that stuff will bend, right? You don't have to break it out. Here's some strength. Tie it back.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Tie it back. And then, but if you did break it, yeah, here comes his great thing. But he did. He showed up at one morning in a red flannel. He said, hey, hey, this thing right here cut that wind. And I'm like, it's a deadgum flannel. What do you mean it'll cut? Whatever.
Starting point is 00:35:25 I remember that first year, we got that red flannel. real tree, uh, max five. Was it max five? No, four. Four,
Starting point is 00:35:34 yeah. Oh, yeah, when he spray painted the shotgun. He told Bill, he said, let me tell you something, Bill,
Starting point is 00:35:41 you don't need the HD. You need the low D. Yeah. It took out a can of spray paint to the shotguns, the waiters and everybody. Rans fucking new. I mean,
Starting point is 00:35:54 out of the box. He said, that's awful bright. Awful bright. We all got spray painted, our guns got spray painted, everything got spray painted. He didn't, he didn't care. The best one though, him and Jay's balls would say, hey, you flared the duck. And then when you asked him, I said, hey, look, you both of you idiots need to look where you're standing.
Starting point is 00:36:18 I don't want to get waited with it, okay? But I'd say, hey, both of you idiots need to look where you're standing. If anybody's flared them. You two need to look in the mirror. I'd have to shoot three times just to shoot my way out of the brush to get a shot. All I could get out was my gun barrel. I just, as soon as the group come over, I just went, boom, boom, I'll shoot brush out of there. So I could see.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Yeah. They piled everything in the middle. No, no. The two ends was over. And not on that. He's short. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:53 That's what he said that morning. We were at the Elm Hole, Phil. said, why didn't y'all shoot the ones in the decoys? He looked at him. He can't see the decoy. They lit the decoored. Guy said, I can't see over the brush in front of it. I said, I can't see the water.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Well, the problem is, Godwin, yeah, okay, you can make that argument with Godwin. He's five, nine, seven, is seven. I was giving you a little. But I'm six, five standing right beside him, and I couldn't see it. And you can see either. No, no. He said, not a shot for spire. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:24 It's on the water. I said, I can't see the water. Yeah, never saw. Oh, man. That's what was kind of, yeah. I realized that this year without Phil, in there, and they'd be get on that end and I'd walk down there,
Starting point is 00:37:40 I'm like, well, this is a whole new world. Oh, no. Like, this is. And it's open. Wow, you can kill us on down here. It's open, too. All right. Hey, I can get you.
Starting point is 00:37:48 I see you. But, oh, man, you miss that crazy old Coup, don't you? Oh, really? He had a way with words. Yeah, it's going to be a lot different because last year we'd go hunting and we could still slide out there and talk to him after. So, like, Saturday will be a, it'll be different because you can't slide over and go talk to him. I mean, I guess the cool thing is now you can talk to him sitting right there. Like, I mean, you can talk to him as much sitting right there as you can at his house.
Starting point is 00:38:14 So it'll, you know, it's a, it'll be, but it'll be different, man, Saturday morning will be, it'll be different. That's all I'm going to say. Yeah, I can't wait to see him again and say. what was the biggest shock when you got there? Is that having? Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Game wood. What was your estimation of what, you know. Walking up on Joe Oliverus. Yeah. I was seeing him there too. He just acting to be a brother. Lord, you didn't really let him in here, did he? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:45 The biggest shock. Oh. I wonder if he still had them funny glasses on. Federal man. You see? On spectacles. I love that. Hammer man, that's what he'd ask.
Starting point is 00:38:55 You're a federal man. He comes by a pickup. That's what I'd say. He comes by a pickup with leaving the property. And he said, that's him, boys. And everybody said, what are you talking about? He said, he's got them round. Round, well, hippie glasses.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Who's the guy that the Beatles, the Beatles, one of them wore, four of them, John? Yeah, John Lennon. Yeah, he said, that's old John and John. That's one John the Beatle. That old guy did tell you, what was that other than that other bear? Which one? I don't even remember.
Starting point is 00:39:32 The one that hunted with us? No. Oh, yeah, because that guy was dangerous. Oh, the one that come down there on the duck pen. Oh, I don't remember that one, yeah. We drove, I was in the truck with him. We drove up and, fell pulled up beside him. I can't think it was a name.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Cash? Cash, is that you? Cash, boy, you've aged. That's what I feel. He just looked at him. He said, well, Phil, you have to. He says, you'll pick up y'all's garbage when y'all leave.
Starting point is 00:40:10 He drove on down to the... That's a wild story. A lot of people probably don't even know about. Really and truly. We can dive into that one. Well, I thought Tommy was going to get arrested there one day. they they uh the game warden said well i'm going to write you boys up for killing a redhead oh that was in tict and it wasn't a redhead it was a green wing till drake and he said well
Starting point is 00:40:34 you know thomas said well you must have missed the class that day that they did don't get identification oh yeah that generally doesn't work out well yeah they got to arguing about you know and thomas just got in his face you know he did you know he said you're wrong He said, you're wrong. And he said, here's the thing. Bring that duck with you when we go to court. So we're fighting this. Yeah, evidence.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Please bring that with you. If you bring that with you, because you're going to help. When you get up in front of that judge, you show him that green wheel till Drake. Oh, he let you. Oh, he let you. Hey, Mac, you go back to school, you know, man. First, the part ranger come.
Starting point is 00:41:11 They was sitting on that cliff watching. Yeah. And he said, that part ranger come down there and said, but you got to have a permit to film here. And Phil said, well, how much is the permit? Oh, it's free. They said, well, what's your big deal? Well, you get the thing.
Starting point is 00:41:32 He said, well, I don't know. They said, but if we didn't do permits for, you know it, somebody would be down here selling hot dogs. That's what the guy told. What? Well, then where can I get a hot dog? Y'all got sirecrout too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Yeah. What's that banking on these days, boys? That was the most ridiculous thing. You know what a shark's favorite phrase is? Oh. Bite me. Wait a minute. Oh, a shark's favorite phrase.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Right? Nope. I don't think so. Yeah. Man overboard. Wow. Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yeah. Okay. I would not want to get. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. It's expensive. A dinner bail rain. It's expensive to swim with sharks. Cost you arm in league.
Starting point is 00:42:31 All more. Yep, all more. He's on fire. I love this. A 14-year-old sent one in the other day. What do you say? What do you call four Spanish guys in Quicksand? Pachos deo.
Starting point is 00:42:46 No, you cheated. We did that before we got off. We cheated. But I lost the kid's name. I was old TJ from Jonesboro. I like it. He's from Jonesboro. Louisiana?
Starting point is 00:42:58 He down there by Keeney probably knows where to crop it's back. Jonesboro, Maine. Oh. We're reaching parts of the world I didn't even know existed. Is there a Jonesboro everywhere in them? I would assume. About as many Jonesboro's as there is Antiox. Or Mount Pleasant.
Starting point is 00:43:17 And they all got a tag. tiny little church in the cemetery. And they have a Hunter Jones too. Yeah. That's right. Okay. Yeah. Well, Hunter Jones being there makes sense.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Jones. Oh, speaking about it's son or sick? No, he's visiting his. Oh, he's, oh, he's, oh, he's, long as it's just this love affair. Okay. I don't think it's a love affair. I think it's just a standard relationship. Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 00:43:39 They weren't met each other's parents. That's a love affair. How do you know more about Hunter's love life than I do? Well, I'm just saying, hey, we ask him over here one day. Where was I? Hey, he said, I went to marry, meet her parents. Well, he took care of. She's from Maryland, North Carolina.
Starting point is 00:43:59 That's what I say. It only did it. North Carolina. North Kakki, lackey. She was here one day. Yeah. Oh, she's a sweet little thing. Yeah, what's she doing with Hunter?
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah, what's wrong with that? She may be like Kay, you know, attract strays. That's funny, no, that's funny that you said. Sorry, Hunter. I just wanted you to listen to that when you have to edit this. That was just to make you laugh. She reminded me of Kay. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:44:24 No, no. I'm serious. Okay. Yeah. That's a good quality. Because Kay was about like that when I met her. A little quiet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:35 But kind. Real shot. Well, I can confirm this. What's that? Phil was nothing like Hunter. No. So, I don't know how they end up.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Phil was a pioneer man for Kay. Yeah. Yeah. And Hunter did. And Hunter's trail plays in the dark web or whatever he is. I'm not sure. Hunter is your good good, would make a great IT guy.
Starting point is 00:44:55 Yeah. For Phil if Phil ever needs the internet. Hunter's your guy. Oh, hey, Hunter's your guy. Y, man. Y'all can get on us all he won't do. This is,
Starting point is 00:45:05 y'all got to understand. This is simply because Hunter's got to edit this and he's out of here. So we want to have him. As soon as we bought him. We want him having something laugh when he gets back. It's not like, what those guys do while I was going? Where are you go, bud?
Starting point is 00:45:17 Hunter panicked when he heard Sy, say where's hunter that's my favorite part yeah getting hickies anyway oh man uh you got uh you got you got any emails anything i had that one really good joke that's it no nobody email you know no we get a lot but this has been a very light episode and the emails are currently pretty heavy heavy oh yeah oh wait beth sent me one uh oh but beth did you send that to me beth that's why i was I was like I have one. And it's actually a really good one that's not super heavy. Different inbox.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Yep. Times are heavy. I believe part of our job here is to give you an hour distraction from the real world while we talk about how we pee. And hopefully we've done that today. But we also like to help out with life advice from Uncle Si. So if you're ever in the mood, email me. Ask Sai question.
Starting point is 00:46:08 I will read it. And if it intrigues me, I'll ask Sai. Hello at Duckcallroom.com. I think this actually came in from over. Facebook, maybe. All right. Kyle.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Kylie. struggling. Kyle, struggling. I love when we do inside jokes. He wants to thank us for bringing joy to his work days. All right, Dan. He just started listening. He's made it to episode 2.45.
Starting point is 00:46:37 And so by the time you hear this answer, it will be too late. But we're rooting for you, Kyle. He's wondering if we have any advice. him and his wife are expecting their first child in November. Oh, during hunting season? Yeah. What's your advice? Because it's not the question, but I'd love to hear it.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Bad call, bro. You can't, I mean, yeah. Valentine's ain't that big a deal. Math checks out. I was about to do plus, yeah, yeah. Yeah, math checks out, can't confirm. First child in November, but he's one of the best way to introduce the new child to their dogs. He found a new way.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Oh, he wants the best way? I guess. What we did was have... Oh, I'm in the kennel. Because we got, you know, Jew... What? I can't go nowhere.
Starting point is 00:47:28 That's good. Johanna, if you're listening, don't... No, hey. No, I was thinking of the same thing. Put the dog in the little cradle. What's the... Put the dog in the cradle or the kid in the kennel? Oh, everybody knows the cats in the cradle.
Starting point is 00:47:43 That's right. The cat's in the cradle. They're the cats. No. Silver spoon. That way, hey, look, the newborn and the dog will bond, and they'll, it'll be just a fantastic story. But, okay, if you don't want to do that, here's what we do.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Put him in a candle. Because our dog was our only child for a while. You got a big dog. That's what I'm talking about. So I didn't want her going nuts when we got home. Put a saddle on them. Yeah, I was fixed out. You got to get a saddle.
Starting point is 00:48:10 If it's a big one. We took the hospital blankets that the boys were wrapped in and swaddled in so tight. We kept them and sent them home with our mother-in-law so that Jude could sniff the blankets so that when the boys come in, they weren't a new smell to her. They were a familiar smell. We put those in her kennel and she slept with them for the two or three days. You know, we were in there a little longer because of whaling and the NICU deal. So like when we come home, Jude was like, this is not really cool because all of their attention.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Already loved them. Well, she was like, I mean, they're cool, but I need my attention too. like that. The Jude's favorite thing is for another adult to come to our house right now. So, because she gets all the attention from somebody. But, uh, but no, yeah, she was cool. She didn't go crazy. She didn't like jump up and down and all that when we come in with them. And she's been a great dog to them every cent. But that's what we did. We took their hospital stuff, sent them home with our mother-in-law and let Jude get introduced that way. And then when we walked in, it was, I mean, she did. She sniffed them, obviously. But it wasn't like goofy, crazy.
Starting point is 00:49:16 jump through the roof kind of stuff. We did have a saddle for Dublin. Throw a blanket over his back and hop on. But he just kind of instinctively knew, I think, something was changing. Now, Jude did too when Brittany was pregnant. She would lay her head on her belly. They catch on. The good ones do them, bad ones.
Starting point is 00:49:32 Just get rid of it if it's a bad dog. Yeah, they know. Yeah, she would never get more than like two feet from Brittany once the pregnancy stuff start, I guess the smell, hormones or something, pheromone, something that dogs can pick up on that we can. Dublin got super protective over Carter quick, like growling at strange. He like never growled at anybody and then growled at my mother-in-law one time.
Starting point is 00:49:53 I was like, this is the best dog in the world. Yeah, well, for eight years, for eight years, I didn't know Jude could bark until the boys were born.
