Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, we've been getting up at 4 o'clock. Yeah, half the day's gone as far as I'm concerned. Yeah. So it's almost time to get off. Yeah. What time do y'all go to bed? I go to bed at 9. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:19 That's weird I do too. And he ain't even hunting. Yeah, and I ain't even hunting. Then the water part is, hey, I get up about 10 regularly. So the morning I get up early. 13 hours. Go to bed at 9 o'clock. sigh really is
Starting point is 00:00:35 he's reverting to infancy just sleep all day wake up wake up eat change yourself and go back sleep if I don't have a good one on PBS I'm going to bed you can tell though he's gotten
Starting point is 00:00:49 a lot of sleep since we last recorded because he's like a young spot chicken to me yeah you can see it is you can't look this good unless you get your beauty rest and they were keeping you up and they were keeping me up two days ago you was looking pretty rough
Starting point is 00:01:03 He wasn't, I mean, he was just tight. I was feeling pretty rough. Look at him. And still feeling pretty rough. Yeah, but you got your color back in it. Yeah, but my woman who keeps saying, I said, yeah, I want to just, she said, hey, the doctor's done towed you, 45 days, and then you'll feel right. Yeah, but he's going to be down south tail hunting next week. I'm saying, well, I need to feel a little better than I'll feel right now, you know, like this week.
Starting point is 00:01:29 So are you saying you're a bad patient? Yeah, I don't make a good. Good patient. Are you an impatient patient? Yeah. What does your bracelet say? That is what I can't even pronounce it. Numothorax?
Starting point is 00:01:47 Yep. Numerothorax wrists right side. What does that mean? That means I've had an operation on my right lung. And then I've actually got a little wristband in this that I carry. That's kind of... That they can scan a code and it'll tell them everything that was done and, you know...
Starting point is 00:02:12 Oh, so if something... In case of an emergency. In case of an emergency. I just saw it and it was like, those are letters that don't normally all go together. And so I needed to know. So if something happens, they won't work on his left long
Starting point is 00:02:24 instead of his right long. I like it. We've thought of everything. It's just been safe, safe. Safety. That's kind of like them things. you wear around your neck when you fall and can't get up he just wears it on his wrist life alert but just ain't got no button on deposition this is just you imagine this is
Starting point is 00:02:45 just written instructions can you imagine if i had life alert all senior citizens should i mean he'd push it just talk somebody well no no hey hey what's a hey okay boys what y'all doing no no what i'm that's exactly what i say Is anyone out there? Yeah. Is this thing for real? I'm just checking. Just checking.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Hey, I was just checking. Hey, we ought to reach out to them, let you be their next spokesman. Because that old lady on there, help, I've fallen and I can't get up. You would do the most entertaining. This isn't a commercial, by the way. No, it's not. My grandmother has it. Does she really?
Starting point is 00:03:23 Does she push it when she was getting chased by the cops? No. Yeah. I don't believe so. I forgot about that. We need to bring your grandma in and ask her about that. ride. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Ask her if she was Thelma or Louise. She was both. She was co-pilot. She was goose in this ordeal. Just keep going. That reminds me about when a guy was saying, and say, hey, look, I knew Mama before she
Starting point is 00:03:49 was Mama. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Was it Daddy? Yeah, no. No, that's why your grandmother is. You ever thought, that's something. You ever thought about before you was born?
Starting point is 00:03:59 Before I was born? Hey, because you don't think about a grandmother. Mm-mm. you know, police chasing her grandmother. That's wild. That's wild. And especially when they get spikes. Hey, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:04:10 What I want to know is, what was grandmama like when she was just, you know, a teenager? You know, if the cops are chasing her now, brief. I'll say this. They've been after her a while. Yeah. It might have been after a long girl. My grandmother, you could say, is by the book. So I don't think that might have been.
Starting point is 00:04:29 They all make a movie. That might have been her first run in with the old. law. Yeah. Yeah, that'd be the first question. You know, like when they had him shows that people were coming up and had asking a question when that's what the show was about. You know, what was you like as a teenager?
Starting point is 00:04:44 Hmm. Since, you know, they've been chasing you for 50 years. And they finally got you? Yeah, and they finally caught you at the age of 77. She's like 84. She's kind of got it 84. What up? Maybe we are to go back in your life and film this and make a movie.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Got hurt. She'd have an interesting movie. Grandmama don't play. She will cut you. She'll cut you. She was over there in Germany with you. What grandmama was? My dad was born in Frankfurt on a military base.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Wow, there you go. In Germany. And then my granddaddy went to Vietnam. He worked in the hospital, though. He was the head dietitian in the hospital. I was just saying, well, she's in the job. So he would have been a doctor. a character on mash.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Yeah. I ain't seen MASH, but sure. What's the, what's the bad motorcycle gang? What? What's the bad motorcycle gang? I don't know. When he said Vietnam, I was going to ask
Starting point is 00:05:50 if Grandma was in that motorcycle gang. The ones that stole your tires while you were driving? The ones that, hey, look, I can't think of the name. I can't believe it. Hell's Angels. Yeah. Hell's Angels, they actually volunteered
Starting point is 00:06:03 if they, the guys, the guys, government would ship them over to Vietnam, they'd go fight if they'd ship their choppers over. They was going to fight on a motorcycle? On a motorcy? They wasn't going to be able to sneak up on nobody. Well, no, no, they just said, hey, all the stipulation is, you got to ship their motorbikes over. You know, we'll go over and fight? I hadn't heard that one.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Give us the weapon and ship her bikes. It was a weapon and ship her bike. I can see them, and Harley Davidson's going down through the jungle. looking like Rambo on a Harley, hey, get you something of this. Get you some of this. They wouldn't have stole their back tire while they's moving.
Starting point is 00:06:47 No, they wouldn't have got that. Yeah, they wouldn't have done that. Not like on your deuce and a half. That is a great story. Did it really happen? No. That and the other one about the deuce and a half engine
Starting point is 00:07:01 being toaded. In a metal container swim across a pond. 100% true. Okay, and there was no flotation device on it. Okay, and there was only two Vietnamese, one
Starting point is 00:07:17 on each side. And how deep was a pond? And look, I had been dropping, shot up vehicles, we'd strip them down, and all to be left is the frame. And I pick it up with a rough train forkl and go drop it in the pond. I've been doing that for six months, so it's
Starting point is 00:07:33 deep. Okay. And look. You just built them a tower up. Well, no, no, because. That's how they walked across there on the beach. No, no. Well, I gave the report that I had to sign my John Hancock to. That is somewhere in the U.S. military archive.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Oh, no. I'm in like the Library of Congress. No, no, because he said, he said, I'd like to read the first-hand account. He says, special Thompson, you do know you're going to have to sign your name to this report you just wrote. He was after a section 8. Yes, when I said, hey. No, I said, hey, I understand that. And then he said, well, after all this, sign him, okay.
Starting point is 00:08:11 He said, now I want to ask you, in your humble opinion, how did they pull it off? Since you've done told the story, sign your name to it, that's it, and you're sticking to it. I said, well, I figured it had to be about 39 of them. 39? Yeah, because it was deep. I said, the guy on the bottom had the best, worst job. I said, because he got 38 people on top of his shoulder. he's like that ant
Starting point is 00:08:37 that one ant on the bottom of the float yeah that's bad deal and I said hey and he's got that 2,000 engine on his shoulders boys going across the bar and 38 people then he threw me
Starting point is 00:08:51 out of his office get out of here I wonder why I said with pleasure sir with pleasure it's almost like that story is unbelievable I believe it no no here's the best part
Starting point is 00:09:05 Yeah, I don't feel. I said, he said, wait a minute, you said something about something, has you, something in your fatigue pockets. I said, yeah, I always had a fifth of whiskey in my fatigue pocket. He said, now these stories are beginning to make sense. Don't mind him. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:28 And what, I said, what are you trying to say, Phil, that this is an alcohol-related instance? Hey, you've said yourself eyewitnesses are unreliable. Well, hey, I'm just saying what cops say. And then we've proved that when we brought Miss Christine on the podcast. Yeah, I know. So you showed just how unreliable you are.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Yeah, I tell my side of the story, and then she had said, nope. Nope, Taco. Here comes Paul Harvey, because here's the rest of the story. Yeah, Paul Harvey. Paul Harvey. Tacos.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Good day. Tacos. That was my favorite line of the whole thing. Taco. Oh, thank you. See that. Taco bells have got the coolest thing when they ring the bell. Whatever the person is doing, they're out of here, boys.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Also, not an ad, but it is a funny commercial. It is a cool commercial. The guy's playing, what, hockey, not hockey. Football. No, not football. Well, that's close. You kick the ball under a net. Soccer?
Starting point is 00:10:27 Soccer. Yeah. He just kicked the ball, and the guard. They're supposed to have done them back to play. The guy made a bad kick because it hit the top of it and bounced out. And it goes, boom. Yeah. And as soon as it done it, the bell rang that it shows him, you know, everybody's trying to high five.
Starting point is 00:10:44 No, he's going to Taco Bell. Because he heard. He ain't got time for that, boys. Dinner bail, yeah. When was the last time you ate Taco Bell? That's been quite a while. That's probably, it's why you took four days to have that movement. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:59 They could have fixed that real quick. Almost for you. drive-thor. We had tacos last night. Well, it was Tuesday. Was there any good? Taco too. Oh, Hannah, see something, boy. Well, hey, tacos are in? Rattling them pots and pan? Was your, was your diabetes, dropped tacos around?
Starting point is 00:11:18 Yeah. They must be you ate them. Okay. All right, I was you checking. Well, I had the soft tacos. I like the soft. Oh, you didn't have the cracker shells? No. Oh, no, you got to have the shells. Have you had the shells made out of Doritos? Now, that would be awesome, but I ain't.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Had them. No, I know a place. That would be good. Look, everything. Wrong bell. What if you just get up and walk out? See, it's just like the commercial. We're going to take a break.
Starting point is 00:11:45 If he comes back with two burritos, he better have four. That's all I've said. Let's let Johnny D take a Taco Bell break. He better double order, boys. Yeah, we'll be back right after this. After Johnny has one. All right, look, springtime is here. It's warming up.
Starting point is 00:12:02 You know what that means? That means more outside cooking. And y'all know we love to eat beef around here. And that's what because of our friends over at Triedells beef makes such a good product, baby. Ain't it good? It's so good. It's our friend, Sao Robertson would say, buy on the grill. Look, before we got Triedells, getting ready for a cookout, man, somebody had to run the grocery store, do all the things, grab whatever was left in case you were late in the day.
Starting point is 00:12:27 And you never really know where that beef comes to them. But with Triedales beef, we skip the grocery store and do it a different way. Tritails comes from a family ranch out in Texas. They're a fifth generation American ranch, so they've been at it for a while. Now, look, the beef comes straight from their ranch and other ranchers they work with who raise cattle the same way. Their steaks are properly aged and shipped straight from the ranch to your door. We threw a couple of ribbys on the grill. Look, salt, pepper, garlic, hot fire, that's all you need.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Look, because I'll tell you what, when the beef comes from people who raise cattle for a living, you can taste the difference. The tenderness and the flavor are fantastic. So if you're stocking the freezer for grilling season, go check out Triedails beef. I know in size case Christine loves it, which is just a she doesn't eat meat. She ain't a big meat easier, folks.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Yeah. Just go to trybeef.com slash. That's tribeef.com slash. Support ranch families and eat some dang good steak. We almost got kicked out of Waffle House last night, by the way. I saw y'all back here. My children, you like the gut. Too late, boy.
Starting point is 00:13:31 They were just loud. Your kids? Yeah. As your wild son. What was they so loud for? I did. Well, you know, raising children in this time of age when all restaurants and public places shut down for like a year.
Starting point is 00:13:45 When you take them back, they're not ready for it. They're like, cool, man. You got to retrain. You kids ain't ready for it? Well, they're getting there. But last night, I was like, gang. Like, what do we do it? I was eating waffles and just playing defense and pushing people.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And like, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. it was a wild time. The wild time. That was one of the wilder Waffle House experience I had. Was it the daughter? Uh-huh. She's crazy, man. The youngest one, they're scary.
Starting point is 00:14:15 That's what you got to look forward to there. Mine's the same age. The woman's inside. Our other two were across from me and they weren't much better. I was like, gang, we're not going to be invited back to Waffle House on Waffle House Tuesday nights. And they were like, why? I said, because you're crazy. You're not using your inside voices.
Starting point is 00:14:33 You're crazy and it's not dark yet. They know how to deal with this once it gets dark. This is the evening shift. They're for the families. I don't know about this. Then we get up to leave and a lot of guys, why this Ben's not wearing shoes? And I was like, another great question.
Starting point is 00:14:47 I was like, are we really the people that just came to Waffle House for dinner and you're not wearing shoes? Next question, where are your shoes? Are they here? They were there. We found them. They're behind the counter. Yeah, they were over by the breakfast, Kibachi.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Now, he just took them off. in the booth, I guess. It was a wild ride. I highly suggest taking three kids under eight by yourself to Waffle House sometime and just trying to eat. It's interesting. No, well, we're going to stop it too. You know? You can have another set of twins on that.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Yeah, boy, wouldn't that be fun. That would be terrifying. Multiple twins? Multiple. How? You all tangled up. Yeah, you're all tangled up. My cord was up under my chair.
Starting point is 00:15:29 Every time I'd move, it choked me. Martin, what is the update on? fatherhood. It's coming soon, huh? Yeah, at some point, I asked her that day. So what are we going to do when they send us home with them things? I was like, I ain't ready for that. So what, what are we, a month out?
Starting point is 00:15:44 Topps, I would say. Yeah. But could it be any day? Yeah, I mean, that's why my phone's sitting on the desk right here. It's not. I mean, if I got to leave, I just got to leave. It's down to the second. Here's the problem.
Starting point is 00:15:57 The other day we went, both of them, they done one the whole time. One's been head down, the other one's been breech. The day we went both them heads pointing down. They're ready. So we had a little pep talk after that. They getting in line, boys. They're getting ready. And I'm like, hey, hey, look, I need y'all just calm down.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Stay in there. Trust me, it's better in there than it is out here. I know it doesn't seem like it. That's been true for ages. But trust me, it is better in there than it is out here. So if y'all just, that's right. Y'all just bide some time. Don't rush it.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Yeah, just. I told them not to spell part backwards, didn't you? Do what? Don't spell part backwards. It's a trap. Oh, part. I thought she said park. I was like, crap.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I didn't, crap with a K. I didn't know where we were going. It's a trap. It's a trap. Godwin, I got one for you. How do you fix a jackal lantern? How do you fix a jackal lantern? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I don't know. With a pumpkin patch. That's what I. Welcome to his fall. What do you call two shotguns as best friends? I don't know. Pals. Huh?
Starting point is 00:17:00 Piles. Piles. Are you saying pal? Pau? Pau! Pau! Pau! Bum, bum, bum, bough. Wham.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Uh-oh. Here we go. Now we're just going to start. You got any more? I got a, I had a Dolorian one time, but I just drove it from time to time. That's one of my favorite ones. Did I tell y'all that we had a time traveler coming in the honey hall, though? Really?
Starting point is 00:17:31 100% of time travel. He's been in there twice? Did he? He was from either the past or the future. I think the past, but maybe the future. It was wild. Have I not told this story? No.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Not to me. So I'm sitting there at the counter and all of a sudden this dude with all this white hair comes in. So you see where I'm getting at? He looks just like that. No, but it's crazy. It's all up in there. And he comes in and he says, sir. And I said, yes?
Starting point is 00:18:01 May I use your phone? And I was like, Okay. And so I handed him the phone. And it gets on the phone. Nobody answers. He put the phone down. He goes, sir, can I ask you a question? I was like, sure. He goes, before this establishment was the Honeyhole tackle shop. Was it a 7-Eleven? And I was like, actually yes. And he goes, in 1987, before it was a 7-Eleven, was it a cracker barrel? And I was like, what does this mean? Apparently, cracker barrels is an old gas station. And my dad looks over and he goes, and in 1991, it became the Honeyhole. And my dad goes, yeah? Walks out, run. What? For real? Yeah. I think he didn't go back far enough. Like he was trying to get back between sometime in 87 and 91,
Starting point is 00:18:45 but he showed up in 2022 and didn't know what to do. What the problem is, that's a 31-year gap that he don't even know where he's at. I don't know how time it should have heard. And, hey, he didn't realize it. The phone was out of service. Yeah. Why didn't you follow him? I got him on camera.
Starting point is 00:19:00 I had all the things you've done in your life. You didn't follow this guy? Yeah, you blew it. I didn't want to end up with dinosaurs. What if you could have went with him? I didn't want to. Why not? I like this place.
Starting point is 00:19:10 But you can come back. Yeah. He proved. Could we? He proved. Well, he made it here. This gate's at least open. That's true.
Starting point is 00:19:18 You got to look for that circle thing. Hey, welcome to the paranormal. He's straight up said, and in 1987, did it become a cracker barrel to the 7-11? And I was like, what is happening? I don't know I was born in 89. He goes, thank you, and ran out. And I was like, left. Left.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Left. Oh, he's going to get him a po-boy. Maybe. He was going to check on Dillans. See if it was still Dillins. Oh, yeah, he probably ran in there. He's going to be upset. Before this was Vannas, was this Dillins?
Starting point is 00:19:44 You still have the Triple Big Boy Burger. Before it was Dillings, was it, A&W? I didn't know about that. I only knew about Dillins. Hey. I didn't know about the Cracker Barrel or the 7-Eleven. I knew it was 7-Eleven. Hey, I've been here a while.
Starting point is 00:19:57 I just turned 60. See? That guy, I don't know how long he's been here. The history of the honey hole. But I'm pretty sure he was trying to go to a right point in time and missed it and ended up talking to me instead. Yeah. I've seen them same people on LivePD.
Starting point is 00:20:15 He should have got him some fishing stuff before he left. He didn't. He was in a hurry. That may be what he's looking for. Maybe he's looking for a hula popper. Yeah. Lucky 13. Yeah, maybe he's trying to come back.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Yeah, get some of them vintage baits, some wiggle warts, some O.G. Wiggle Wards. Purple fire, tail, weren't. rooms or something. Yeah. We still got those. Yeah. They've been there a while.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Got dust on. On Leo Little. But anyway, yeah, so that was my experience with the time trial. I hope he made it to where he was trying to get, whether it be the 7-Eleven, the Cracker Barrel, or just to talk to Bobby Phillips in 1992. Yeah. Well, maybe we'll hear from him in the future. I don't know. That's when we need that sound effect over there that Hunter got a control of.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Yeah. That was a good one. Maybe we'll hear from him in the future. We need the Duck Dynasty sound effect back. It's the banjo. There it is. Look, what do I tell you? I like it.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Wake up, Hunter. I know it's 10 o'clock, but you're fine. No, that was a good one. Maybe we'll hear from him in the future. What if he does drop an email? Sir, if you're listening, and I don't know what year you'd be listening. It'd have to be within two. Because that's all we've been doing.
Starting point is 00:21:33 this. Well, he's going on the future. But if he's in the future, he could go back to YouTube and find, like. Yeah. Yeah. But it'll stay at the top of the inbox because it's going to have to be the newest one. Or if he just downloads this one and goes back to the past.
Starting point is 00:21:47 And he's listened to it in the 70s. And that helps him figure out what time he was here. Yeah. Bet on the New Orleans Saints in 2009, sir. If you're listening and you're back in the past. Bet on the Vikings. I'm sorry. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:22:02 I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm going back to Taco Bell. Oh, he's going back to Taco Bell. I'm sorry. Thanks for not telling him the year. Actually, they've never won anything. No, but they did win that one.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Stop it. I'm riding with James Winston now, people. All right. Who'd at? Keep your legs inside the vehicle at all times. He's a wild, goofy ride, boys. Ah, well, let's take another break. We'll get back right after this.
Starting point is 00:22:34 I know that we don't talk about government things very often, I read one that is the dumbest thing that I think I've ever seen a Secretary of Agriculture do for the United States. Oh, are we going there? Let me just tell you what this person, I'm going to be as kind as I can be. Do it. So, duck season's open in Canada, right? Correct. We can go hunting Canada now.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Are you allowed to cross the border yet, or we've still got stupid rules? No, you can still do that, but you can't bring the ducks back. with you for fear of spreading avian flu. Oh, no. Does somebody need to tell this hammer what these ducks are about to do? They are about to pack their bags from Canada and fly to the United States. Not if they build a wall. I mean, how stupid can you be?
Starting point is 00:23:29 I mean, got to be one of the dumbest, and I had to look and make sure it wasn't Joe saying it. Because it was that asinine, I was like, are you, what? Wait, no. So we can't. You can't bring them. You can't go shoot ducks and bring them back. But they're going to fly, and if they got it, they got it. But if you bring it back with you, that's terrible.
Starting point is 00:23:48 So you can't, well. To stop the spread of avian influenza on ducks that migrate. Well, the avian flu only can't travel by ground. Yeah, I guess whenever you, I guess when you go through the air, it cleanses you. Heaven forbid the meat is in a cooler and you've harvested it and you're ready to eat it. I didn't know that they said that. That's funny. That's so stupid.
Starting point is 00:24:08 This is a wildlife alert. That's so stupid. Okay. For the wildlife people that enforced the law, this is your day. Go to Canada and get them all. Yeah. It's so stupid. You got to keep them there.
Starting point is 00:24:26 But leave them there. You can't do nothing with them. Walton waste is the one you charge them with. Martin, you know what that sounds like? A decision that was made by a person who's only worn a suit their whole life. and never been outside. All you've got to do is look. I don't even care if you hunt.
Starting point is 00:24:44 You're like, man, we ain't had no ducks here. Oh, my gosh, there are ducks. Where'd they come from? He don't know what it is. He didn't sprout. He don't know where it is. I mean, I read that and I said, no. That's kind of what I was thinking of all them during all that COVID stuff,
Starting point is 00:25:00 all them plexiglass walls they'd have. Uh-huh. The COVID's a real polite disease that don't go over the top or around the side. Or underneath. Or through paper masks. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:12 But I just couldn't, I could not, I read that and I just, the basic understanding of birds migrating somehow missed this guy. Well, they're in good shape. They won't have it. I mean, do they have to stop at the border and get a permit or something? Well, they check everybody. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Oh, I can see that. They got a toll.
Starting point is 00:25:32 The Mallard's getting a line right there and get their butt swabbed with a cute. They got to shove it right up that beak and it's about eight foot long and it tickles their brain. They got a toll. They got a girl through one at a time. Yeah. I mean, it's the dumbest thing I've ever read. There's actually a stopping point in North Dakota. And to know that this...
Starting point is 00:25:52 To wait for the rest of your family. But the problem is to know that this guy is making other decisions on our behalf. Forget the ducks. This guy is the Secretary of Agriculture. Are you kidding me? How can you be so dumb? Martin's calling you out, sir I am, I'm calling you an idiot
Starting point is 00:26:10 I mean 100% You were trying to be nice earlier And Martin said But it's just stupid Gloves off I mean it's just the dumbest thing I've ever read I shot blue wing teal this morning
Starting point is 00:26:20 That probably some of them started in Canada And I mean What if one of them had the flu? I don't know I can tell you what he ain't got any more feathers I mean he's in the pot Like
Starting point is 00:26:34 I just don't understand the difference of a bird shot in Canada and one shot in North Dakota, why that's a big, like, all of a sudden, I don't, I mean, do they have, I just don't understand. Open your beak, we want to check your temperature. Yeah, I don't, I don't get it. Before you cross over. I do not understand.
Starting point is 00:26:51 He only, I'm, I tell you what it is. What, did he rescind it finally? No. Oh. I was just looking up how much the Secretary of Agriculture makes the make. Oh, it's too much. It's a bunch. It's too much.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Yeah, it's a bunch of money. Yeah. Is that more than a duck call builder? Oh, yes. Well, don't get the flu. I'm not. Guy one, quit building duck calls. You may give somebody the avian flu.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Uh-oh. We can't sell him. He was that before, though. I don't care. He got kicked out and then he came back. I'll let you guess what happened. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:27:27 That other guy got rid of him? The other guy got rid of him. Yeah. You know. So this is his second stint. Yeah, this is number two. So in eight years, he's still just as dumb as he was back in. He didn't figure out about migration.
Starting point is 00:27:41 I try to stay out of politics. But when I read something that's stupid, I mean, that's not really politics. It's just like I just don't understand. Do you think he would come on our show? Oh, no. He better not. Here's your sign. I'm about out of coffee.
Starting point is 00:27:56 He's about out of coffee, boys. Well, I hope it didn't come from Canada. No. I mean, I just. Well, as long as it. Heaven forbid, what are these things going to do? when they get to Mexico. Like, does he not understand they just keep going?
Starting point is 00:28:09 Like, just... How far south do they go? As far as they want to. I mean... Like all the way to Venezuela? Some of them do. Hey, you just... Hey, I didn't know ducks were bilingual.
Starting point is 00:28:22 They are? They can speak Canadian. They can speak it all. That's why we have 75 different mallard. And that's why you sound like a French woman on a dog. Well, hey, there you go, boys. Hey. Wow.
Starting point is 00:28:34 French must not be their best language of. Well, hey, it wasn't mine. He lived in Germany, not France. I was in Germany, too. Yeah, there wasn't, nope. That ain't mine either. Did you learn any German? A little bit.
Starting point is 00:28:51 But I just... Can you... Do you remember any of it? Language is, you know, that's like playing a guitar. It's a God-given gift. Okay? To talk? Yeah, bilingual and all that?
Starting point is 00:29:01 No, yeah. I have enough trouble with just English, boy. And you... Most less, you know, and some people speak like 10, 12, 15 languages. That's crazy. That is wild. No, no, it's insane. Did you take English in school?
Starting point is 00:29:15 Of course. Did you take Spanish? I didn't learn much. Yes, I did. I've seen you speak Spanish. That's right. In South Texas on our Duck Dynasty rerun, they had you cut over. Somebody sent an email in the other day that said,
Starting point is 00:29:31 have y'all ever watched the Spanish version of Duck Dynasty? Absolutely, I have. And I got to find this guy. They said that version is better than the English version. Well, it's got to be. Joseph. I'm just saying nothing. I've been told that.
Starting point is 00:29:46 I wonder if we're really saying what we're really saying. We'll never know. I don't know, but whatever hay is in Spanish, I bet that guy's tired of saying that. Look, Joseph sent me the email with the YouTube link. And I just sat there and I giggled and I giggled. and I giggled. And I giggled.
Starting point is 00:30:07 It was so funny. For the people that don't, I don't know how much of this that we can run, but can we pull up like 20 seconds of sigh in Spanish? Of course I can. Absolutely. Of course you can. I understand why it is better.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Hey, I'll say whoever that is captured your character. Great job, sir. Because when it would cut to him, it was a very noticeable different man speaking Spanish. He had a little bit of a crazy twang to him. Yeah, that was good. I don't know what he was saying, but I loved it. They were saying, hey. I know where that started.
Starting point is 00:30:56 I heard Phil say patos, so that's duck. That's all I got. I don't know what they were talking about ducks, but they were talking about duck. I was laughing too hard. It was just the dialect. Oh, man. You're an international superstar, sir. International.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Si speaks world why. Sye gets dubbed over in Spanish. Now, is God one in that episode? Oh, he's got to be. I know what I'm doing for the rest of this. I just need to know. Where? Oh, there he is.
Starting point is 00:31:24 There he is. Hold on. Okay. Wait, is this a... What is? I hope it's ham sandwich. You know what's funny? I did not plan this, people.
Starting point is 00:31:32 This is the episode I was on. Is it really? Uh-huh. So Godwin eats a donut. Okay. I eat more than one. Probably. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Look, it's all three of us. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was stuck. That's me. That's me. Yeah. This is when they make fun of me, so I'm changing it. Anyways.
Starting point is 00:32:09 But you don't know what we're saying, neither do I. Oh. That was not Goblin That was me and Goblin Talked I know but that was not Gobble Who knows when the break started? Oh that's so funny
Starting point is 00:32:23 I know one thing The guys that done this Had a blast Yeah He did Joseph thanks for that email That's wonderful I'm glad we got to do
Starting point is 00:32:36 I don't know how much of that Was just aired or we could even show But it We laughed for a long time. Oh. I've seen, I mean, not that episode, but I've seen it before, and I got so tickled. I got to look it up and see what's going on. I'll send it to you, sir.
Starting point is 00:32:51 All right. Oh, man, that's good stuff. Well, with that. Vomanos. Vomanos. I don't really know. Vamlos, amigos. I don't know enough Spanish.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Well, you can do us. I think that means hurry up. Oh, does it? Well, adios. There, there you go. That means we'll be back, right? It means turn it up. That means goodbye.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Adios. Adios via condios. Adios and via God. Goodbye, may you go with God. Really? Yeah. That's Zach Brown. Yeah, that's all I knew.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Well, let's take a break. I think we ought to all start learning Spanish. Let's all start Rosetta Stone together. Rosetta Stone. I'm out. We could do a whole podcast in Spanish. I couldn't. Why not?
Starting point is 00:33:42 I can't speak Spanish. But you can. If we start learning, after hours. We've got to start learning. I took Spanish and I took Italian. I don't speak either of. I took Latin. All you had to do is translate that.
Starting point is 00:33:53 But you can't even talk to people. That's what I'm talking about. Nobody even talks that. I'd rather learn. Nobody even speaks that. I'd speak a little Italian. I'd rather speak Celtic. Wait, timeout.
Starting point is 00:34:03 You do what? You speak Italian? Well, say something. You speak with your hands. That is true. Yeah. Only Italian I know who's a pepperoni pizza. Give me a pepperoni pizza.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Yay, Italian. Yay, Italian. So you want to ask me who makes the best meatballs in the world. I had some good ones last night. I thought you had tacos last night. Oh, yeah, that was the night before that. What in the world? You had, like, spaghetti and tacos?
Starting point is 00:34:36 No, not spaghetti. Oh. I don't know what it was. It was, but it was like... A meatball taco? Now the meatballs was in a mariner sauce. Yeah. In a bowl she had.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Then she had something else. She had tomatoes and slices of green stuff. It was a circle thing. I don't know what it was. And a yellow one, like a caprice or something. I don't know what that is. What, bell pepper? It wasn't bell pepper.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Since you're saying green. It was like a squash, you know, round squash. She put it up. And she had them all in a rope. and had them in some kind of salt. It was good. Who's done this? I don't know if it was zucchini.
Starting point is 00:35:20 It was zucchini. We found it. That's what it was. And the yellow ones, I think, was squawk. And she had them sliced and in a pretty little roll around the bowl. Boy, she'd been cooking up a storm. I said, good grief. We went from France to Mexico in two days.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Who's cooking this? Wait, France. What did you eat? It was French. That's what she said. That could be considered French. Meatball? No, she called it something.
Starting point is 00:35:51 French Caprizi? It was long, long word. I don't know what it was. I don't remember. Long words, I don't, that's too much, too many letters. It was good deep. It was good deep. It was good to eat.
Starting point is 00:36:04 So you put the meatballs on that stuff, and I made the meatball. You made the meat? Well, I made, I made them round deer meat. And she dressed them up. Who's this, Ms. Paula? Johanna. Oh, Johanna? Yep, she's been cooking.
Starting point is 00:36:21 I don't know what we had them. She's got the whole week planned out. Look at you. You got a personal chef. That's a personal chef. That's exactly right. Making dad eat good. She's back on that payroll, ain't she?
Starting point is 00:36:32 She ain't never got off the pay. You try to get them off, but that ain't true. You always. You're always there to help. Well, Johnny D. double-dip it on that payroll now. The real one, then? And I'm supposed to always be there to help. I was like, Dad, I need help with something the other day.
Starting point is 00:36:54 You bring your trailer and help me push this. There you go. Couldn't do it on my own. That's good. Oh, that's funny. Yeah, you had a double dip. Oh, she cooked salmon last week one day. She had a big old slab of it.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Do you like salmon? Yeah, the way she'd done it was good. I haven't found a way I like salmon yet I'm same way of you my wife loves it I mean I'll eat it but it's not we went to Alaska and got a salmon baked
Starting point is 00:37:23 now that was I mean they just called it out of the creek there and he had a big old long about longer in this table about this wide and he had it on the top was like metal round stop and he had like a flat basket like stuff where he could lay them filets in there and close it,
Starting point is 00:37:43 and he rolled it back and forth over that fire. Then he'd flip it. He'd talking about good. So it was awesome. Awesome. It ain't like what you eat here. You catch it right out of the river and then cook it. I can believe that.
Starting point is 00:38:03 It was pretty awesome. It's like having fresh garballs. You ain't lying. Martin, do you don't like garb balls? I mean, I'm not opposed to them. I've had them. You don't like crab cake? Yeah, I mean, that's the deal with gar.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Like, oh, they're so good. But you just put a lot of distractions around it. Like, I like stuff you don't have to surround with distractions. Yeah, because of such a strong fishy taste. That, and I think it's the only way to keep it moist and keep it from turning like a cotton ball, like some of them fish. You can't eat it cold. But, I mean, gar balls in a gravy. Yeah, I mean, who doesn't?
Starting point is 00:38:40 I mean, yeah. Put it over rice and let's bump. I mean, it's good. Don't eat cold, though. Nope. Like chewing gum. Look, I said, nope. Nope.
Starting point is 00:38:51 My friend that walks to the Honey Hill every day, the gar commander, as I call him, he's about 12. Is he cleaning them? Oh, he's making gar balls. Then he's told me how good they are. I'm like, no, they're not. They bring you one? No.
Starting point is 00:39:01 I told him he's not allowed to. But then his dad showed up yesterday. He was like, he's not lying. I like them. I like, am I wrong about this? Hey, you got to have a no thank you portion. I've done that recently, Godwin, and everybody made fun of me on the internet, so. You aren't here.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Johnny Dee took a... I should not have done the jalapeno. I hesitate to call it a bite of a VN of sausage. Can't do it, man. But it never made it past his tongue. Fanny sausage is good. I can have him. Can you?
Starting point is 00:39:32 Yeah. Do you have a flavor you like? I like the barbecue one, the plain one. Where did my box go? He's gone. Uh-oh. They're taking a boy. Why would someone steal that?
Starting point is 00:39:44 I don't know. He still got it. What you got in there? He got a whole case of a lot. Barbecue. Barbecue. Look, I got to eat a snack because of my sugar. Oh, he's about the dough pop one.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Johnny, they don't watch it. I mean, I'm fine watching other. You don't like it? No, those are gross. Look at that. Gross. Those do not taste good. Oh, look at it.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Let me see. Let me see. I love this. I don't know. Let me see this. Oh, he's going back for more. He said, no, that first one didn't do it. I'm just saying, have got it had beef jerky?
Starting point is 00:40:29 Okay. All right. Guy one's in on them. Ain't that bad. Ain't that bad, boy. This is a duck hunting treat that can't be beat. That's a duck hunting treat that can't be. He's going back in.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Oh, I'm like the whole can. Oh, he's got to have a snack. This is a morning show. This is called Breakfast, Martin. It tried to get me to eat them who didn't want them, and we had a man here the whole time that just would eat all of them. Oh, I will too. I'm not scared of them.
Starting point is 00:40:56 I'm not scared of them. I just don't like them. I'll tell you about the good thing about that. They don't have the gel on it that the normal ones do. I know, ooh, that's so good. Well, no, no, because of the barbecue sauces on it. Okay, they don't have the gel. We've digressed here.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Oh, no, we have. Hey. Praise God for that. He's making weird videos over there. Right. Of him eating vying a sausage. I got it all over me. And he's enjoying it.
Starting point is 00:41:29 So. Hey. Do you need a napkin? No. I'm posting that to Instagram, but I'm also saving it. That's fantastic. I mean, he said. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:40 Oh, boy. Now we got a mess. Oh, the goody out. Yeah, and I got shrapnel. Oh, crap them, boys. That sticks with you. My dog's going to love it. Oh, yeah, when you get home.
Starting point is 00:41:52 She goes, here he comes, boys. Mm. How many of you got left here, hammer? One. Well, let's take a break. That way you can wash your mouth out before we get in that fan segment.
Starting point is 00:42:01 We'll be back right after this. He says, and that's hot barbecue sauce. Well, look, we're back. And we're back. Hello at duck callroom.com is the inbox. It would go somewhere? Yeah, but you had to go wash your mouth up. With coffee.
Starting point is 00:42:18 And wash your hands. My dad drinks. Another can. Room temperature coffee and a growth of smell. Anyway, you want to do some emails? Yeah, let's do it. What's in there? All right, Jason emails in.
Starting point is 00:42:28 By the way, it's hello at duck call room. com or message Martin on Instagram. Message duck call room on Instagram. Hey, message gobbling on Instagram. Message me on Instagram. Message Sile on Instagram. It's Phillip. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:41 So Jason emails in. First of all, love the show and everything you guys stand for. He's an avid outdoorsman. I am, too. but he tends to be frugal. Frugal. He's a frugal sucker, which means he's a tight one. He understands we got deals, so we got to say who we like.
Starting point is 00:43:00 But he wants to know what we would absolutely spend the extra money on without hesitation when it comes to hunting gear. Guns and ammo. Guns and ammo. The two things that connect you to the animal. Spend your money there. Yep. And waiters.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Save everywhere else. You can, I mean, waiters now, with all the return policies, you can get $150 pair from Academy, wear them for three months, take them back, and get a new pair, essentially. I mean, if they leak or something like. I mean, the waiter business is a terrible one to be in. You need a good cap.
Starting point is 00:43:40 A hat. Premium cap, he says. Premium hats. Duk commander.com's got it. But that's me. If you're, and hunting in the south, you don't really need. technical clothing. You can get away with, you know, a basic jacket. If it does get cold,
Starting point is 00:43:55 wear you some good base layers, spend some money on some base layers, but... Good bag. You need a good bag. For all your groceries? Yeah, put your groceries in. Good boots. And your extra shotgun shells. But guns and ammo, 100%. That's where I'm spending my premium. That's where he's premium. Yeah. Same way with like bows, arrows, broadheads.
Starting point is 00:44:17 whatever connects me to who I'm after, that's where I'm going to spend my money. I'll make do with the rest of it. Range finder. I was just listening. Yeah, it just keeps going on and on, no. Yeah. It's an expensive.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Depending on how technical you want to get into sport. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But, hey, that's where I spend my money. I'm going to keep it in the hunting world. Sound good? Josiah emails in. Josiah.
Starting point is 00:44:46 From Tobacco. Tobaccoville, North Carolina. Oh, I was going to say Kentucky. Yeah. And he has a question, but he also sent in a trail cam picture. Oh, oh. Oh, um, tum, tom. Boom.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Bow. It's a house cat. Yeah. Cis says, don't you believe in baby panthers? Yeah, but their mom's never around. It's wild. Whoa. That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:45:14 It is wild. Yeah, just, say, hey, that's. As a Black Panther believer myself, I've seen them in zoos, I've seen them on Arkansas Road. That's a cat, bro. Yeah, if you want to catch that one, you just go, meow. Sounds something like, here, kitty, kitty. So you got anything? Nope, it's just a black cat.
Starting point is 00:45:33 That's just a skinny bear. And a small one. Anyway, what was this question? Yeah, well. That's just sweet pee out for a stroll. I was going to just give them a chance. It wouldn't big enough. Could have been a black panther.
Starting point is 00:45:46 I didn't think so either. All right, so he's a new duck hunter. What is your advice for someone who has never duck hunted before but really wants to? He has no calls, no decoys, and he doesn't even know where to go. What are the steps to start completely from scratch? Save your money, go with an outfitter. Yep. Your first couple of times.
Starting point is 00:46:10 Don't try to do it yourself. Go watch other people do it. and then figure out is this for me you may not like it that way that way it'll be fun yeah okay because if you try it alone you'll get discouraged because
Starting point is 00:46:28 and guess what if you go buy all the stuff that you say you're missing you're going to spend more than a guided hunt would cost you and they already have all that stuff they've already got the goods and you probably don't know how to blow it up call Yep. So go on with somebody that does.
Starting point is 00:46:45 And the same deal, though, but this gives you a chance to figure out if you like it or not. You may hate it. There's only a million of us. Boy, if I ain't cooking that blend. I mean, that's how many duck stamps are sold. One million a year. One point one, not many. In fact, like two years ago, it was down to like 800,000.
Starting point is 00:47:03 So it's not a lot of people doing it. So that tells you right there, it ain't for everybody. There's something like 20 million deer hunters and like 70 million fishermen. or something like that. So, like, it may not be for you. So save you money, go do it. And then if you like it, then start trying to figure out how to do it. Oh, we don't like it.
Starting point is 00:47:22 As someone who can attest to not really, like, I started working here and I was like, I'm going to go duck up with my friends. That wasn't fun because we were just, we didn't know what we were doing. The one time we had Mallards land in the decoys, a game warden showed up, and I was very upset. Because I was like, bro, this is like, we've been trying for a week. and I'm handing you things and we finally had a chance. But you know it was fun? First time I went with Si.
Starting point is 00:47:48 First time I went with Martin. So that's... We figured it out. Well, y'all know how to do it. They're way better than me at it. So even if you don't have an outfitter, but you have a friend. Or a buddy that does it. Just go with somebody and be a sponge.
Starting point is 00:48:02 That's what you need. Don't go buy your duck call because you go to duck hunting. Like, it don't matter. You're doing more harm than you are good. Yeah, most of them are not going to let you blow the duck call. Sit there, turn your hat around, and hold on. Say that's what I said. You got to have a good hat.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Yeah. And you got one job. If a bunch of ducks comes in, you need to kill this many. One. One. This one. And if everybody will kill one, we're good. Don't start picking out all three of them.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Start with that many. The closest one to you, right in front of you. Don't go this way. Don't go that way. Right here. And you'll have fun. You should have fun. And I enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:48:42 I enjoy the snod out of it. So I've been five days in a row now. Going back tomorrow. I don't know. I may take a day off. This one's pretty tough. I'm actually going to leave my man's name out of it. We're just going to call him Jr.
Starting point is 00:48:55 He needs some advice about his family and the Lord. So he's been with his girlfriend for about two years. They're super close. He's bought a ring. Aad boy. About to get engaged. Except for him. uh
Starting point is 00:49:10 but he's put it on hold uh oh because his sister in law has told him that God spoke to her and that he that God said
Starting point is 00:49:23 that he shouldn't marry this girl and now he has no clue what to do because that's kind of weird to say that is weird to say um and I believe that you know God puts thing in our heart that we think about.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I've had something hit me from out of nowhere, and I 100% believe it was the Holy Spirit. Now, I hadn't heard any audible voices. I know some people that said, have. I'm not going to discredit them, but this one's a weird one. Martin? Martin? Why me?
Starting point is 00:49:59 I told you it was tough. He's backing up. And I did clear this one before we aired this. Before I asked. In the Bible, I found it. In my past, I found one guy is talking to me, he's talking to me. He's talking to me. He ain't using a liaison to get to me.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Because he's jerked me by the collar of my shirt before. I mean, I truly believe, like you said, the Holy Spirit. And, you know, and kind of slap you around and say, hey, idiot, you know, get your head right. But I haven't. I don't know I haven't had somebody say I had this God spoke to me about you and I've always found
Starting point is 00:50:45 he likes to communicate pretty direct that's just me well well that's me the thing about it is I think the sister-in-law okay God talked to the sister-in-law
Starting point is 00:51:01 well hey you're not marrying your sister-in-law yes she's already She's already married. In law. Okay. And if, you know, God may have spoke to her. That I don't know.
Starting point is 00:51:16 But this is going to be up to you. You're going to have to live with this woman. If you've been with it for two years. If you went with her for two years, I figure you probably know this lady pretty well. Mm-hmm. Okay. You actually went and bought a ring, okay? So I know what's in your head.
Starting point is 00:51:35 You're ready to make this. you're ready to make a commitment to what you've got. I would say, hey, go ahead. Okay, because this secondhand stuff, okay, like in my humble opinion, God talks directly to you. Yeah. He's already talked to us to the person that we, you know, he's talked to us because in the Bible even says it.
Starting point is 00:52:03 In the earlier days, God talked to everyone through the prophets. But in these last days, he's talked to us through the sun. Okay. So, hey, I'm just going to move with, okay, you know, if when he talks to me, then I might listen. But somebody outside, because all this is, is your daughter or sister-in-law, may have a dislike for this woman. okay and that's her opinion
