Starting point is 00:00:00 Oh, we're having like a walk-in surprise gift. Okay. All right. Hey. Hey, look, guys. Hey, welcome back to the podcast room. You're the guest? I'm the guest.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Hey, there you go. Hi, I'm the guest. So he's the guest. Oh, you're going to do it. Welcome, everyone. Oh, wait, I forgot something. It looks like the camera's pointing one way. This is awesome.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Like, you got something you can remote switch it with? Yeah, bring you bored with you, son. You may need it. Boys, we're running out of money. That's what I'm telling you. Hey, we don't go on to the bottom of a barrel, baby. We're officially podcasting on a budget. There we go.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Hey, honor. Right here. Hey, we got the camera guy in there. Yeah, we were just talking about how everybody in the world, this is just my humble opinion, are hurting. Yep. Okay. And look, what the problem with the human race is, in my humble opinion, okay?
Starting point is 00:01:09 We're hurting and we're searching for relief, okay, and we always search in the wrong places. God put it in us, okay, when he created Adam and E. He made us to be eternal beings. Yep. Because if he wouldn't have, they would not have had a tree of life in the Garden of Eve. Do you want to stick your microphone closer? Okay, all right. I'll just remind me.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Hey, get on the mic. He's not over there. He's not over there where he can turn you up and down. He's just right in. Anyway, okay, so we were meant to be eternal. God wants us to be with him. Every one of us. He don't want to lose a one.
Starting point is 00:01:51 He wants all of us to be his children and to spend eternity with him, his son, and the Holy Spirit. And with that, I'll stop preaching with this. No, you ain't. Every day, every day I get one day older. Okay, I'll learn something about, we've taken the word religion the human race has, and we've made it unrecognizable where it's got everybody so confused of what it is.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Yeah, I agree with that. Okay, and look, it's very simple. God loves us, and he wants the best for us. That's why I'm hung up on threes. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Faith, hope, and love. Them six. Because if you get right down to it and start analyzing your life,
Starting point is 00:02:39 you're going to have to put your faith in something or someone. You're going to have to hope for something or someone, and you're going to have to love and want to be, you know, everybody wants to need love. Yeah. And don't put your faith in humans. You know, and don't put your faith in me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Because guess what, buddy? I'm going to fail you. Mm-hmm. Okay? I'm a flawed, sinful human being. Preach it. Preach it. We generally say this for the last, not the first.
Starting point is 00:03:10 We're doing the day backwards. We got Hunter here. He doesn't foul up everything. Hunter brought it out. But anyway, guys, hey, for all of you hurting there, I'll give you a little advice, 74 years of it, okay? 74. I would not know what to do if I could not turn to the Almighty
Starting point is 00:03:30 and know he's there and will have. help me with all of my struggles. I really wouldn't. And I take, you know, Make a Wish Foundation. The show gave me a platform to speak to a lot of people. Well, when the first time it happened when a kid, his last wish on this earth, he's on his way out. He's got stage four cancer.
Starting point is 00:03:58 He wants to meet and spend a little time with Uncle Si. Pretty awesome. Hey, that made me hit my knees and talked to the almighty. Hey, use me to help them, father. You know, because I don't know what a mom and dad does. It would be fine for me to go to the doctor and he tell me, hey, you got stage 4 cancer to die. Hey, I've had a great life.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Thank you, Lord, for all of it. Yeah, why not me? But, hey, but if I had taken my child when she was small, and they told me that, I don't really think I could have handled it. Okay. But now, like I said, I'll stop preaching. We'll get on with the podcast. Hey, welcome, Hunter.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Hope you enjoyed being on the podcast, brother. Got a guest. Got a guest. So, hi, I'm Hunter, the producer and editor. Yeah, that's the introduction to today. So one of my jobs is to schedule people, and I haven't been able to do that that well this month. for all the complications that have been happening. You're going to never walk through this earth without trials and tribulations there, my man.
Starting point is 00:05:09 So he's making do. Hey, so you can be making do. We're getting it done. So after all the podcast, you've sat in, what have you learned? That's a good question. Putting him on the spot. Hey, I like this. Tell you what you feel, this is all right.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Hey, you've been sitting, look, here's what I know. You've been sitting over there behind that screen this whole time, listening to us saying, boy, if they just let me on there one time, I'll show these clowns what's going on. You want to talk about a podcast host, buddy. You got one right here. So Hunter, let her rip. What have you learned from this band of misfits and degenerates we call ourselves? What is your favorite thing of sitting over there behind that screen?
Starting point is 00:05:53 I would have to say some of my favorite things is like, I guess the stuff on the breaks that we can't show. Oh. Oh, yeah. Let's not talk about them. Yeah, I should probably edit that out. No, I'm kidding. No, we have fun. Look, I'll tell you this right now, folks,
Starting point is 00:06:06 whether the cameras and the microphones are on or off, we're laughing and having a good time. Most definitely. And during the breaks, there's some really funny stuff that make absolutely no sense, but you're like, why don't you leave that in the podcast? Because that's most of y'all stuff anyway. Like, I want to run in a firehouse and holl. Well, hey, with this being said,
Starting point is 00:06:25 yeah. With this being said, okay, you need. I'm going to add this to everybody. With God, hey, this video is running on you seven days a week, 24-7, buddy. Yeah, yeah. Okay. So, hey, y'all, a lot of people don't think about that. So the best stuff is the stuff that nobody else sees.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Do you know how many people are disappointed right now? I know. I want to change my answer now. So I didn't really watch the show growing up. Like, I had a couple cousins on it, but that was about it. I watched those episodes. A couple of cousins. We used everybody around here, folks.
Starting point is 00:07:05 But one of my favorite things was getting to know you guys on and off camera for sure. And all the crazy stuff, so I says that I would never have thought to look up or no. No, no, because hey, look, oh, you remember when we did the episode and I think it was Phillips said, okay, if it's known, it's manageable? Yeah, what is known as manageable? Hey, guess where that came from? Where? A bathroom's called? No, we had asked.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Where did it come from? And Phillips said, oh, I think I had one of my classes in college. Yeah. No. We was not in an event, and he was doing something with one of my books. That was something I said in one of my books. Oh, don't be taking credit. Ah.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Hey, I put my hand on the Bible. Ask Philip Macmillan. Hand on the Bible. I meant to do it. Okay. A tricky thing. That came from me. I said that.
Starting point is 00:08:03 And look, I don't even know the context of what I was talking about at the time, but it was in the book. Come on now. I'm just telling you. And look, that was Philip. Philip was the ones that. I finally run down where that came from. And he's busted out of life, and he said, you're not going to believe where it comes from. And I said, well, where did it come from?
Starting point is 00:08:24 He said, from you, it was written in your book. And I said, you're joking. I said, come on, you're putting it to my leg. He said, nope. I feel that same feeling right now. You said that in the book for some reason. So I said, well, okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Because John David checks me when he's sitting here to my left on everything I was saying. Yeah, I ain't going to go reading through your book. No, I ain't checking it. No, I ain't checking it. Well, it is John David. He's at the beach. He is at the beach. Johnny Dee.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Oh, he's taking a vacation? He's on vacation. They got all the cousins. It's everybody but his father. Oh. His father is... And he's probably just as happy. I don't know if he's ever been happy.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Oh, that just reminding me. I've got a buddy, him and his wife and his kid. They had to meet him. They just had a baby, okay, and the baby has got leukemia. Oh, you're talking about Scotty Rob? Yeah, Scotty Rob. I saw that. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Hey, I want all of y'all out there to pray for Scotty Rob and his family and a new infant. Chant. The son's name is Chance. Okay. Because he's got, they at St. Jude's right now. They at St. Jews right now. So everybody keep them in their prayers, if you please would. And look, you can go to my Facebook, and I think Phillips already done it.
Starting point is 00:09:44 We've got a fund me going on for chance. And if you can, hey, whatever you donate will be appreciated greatly. Yeah. Okay. But y'all keep them in your prayers. Keep your family in his prayers. For sure. Well, let's take our first break.
Starting point is 00:09:58 be back right after this. All right, look, springtime is here. It's warming up. You know what that means? That means more outside cooking. And y'all know, we love to eat beef around here. And that's because of our friends over at Tritels Beef makes such a good product, baby. Ain't it good?
Starting point is 00:10:18 It's so good. Our friend, Sao Robertson would say, buy on the grill. Look, before we got Tritels, getting ready for a cookout, man, somebody had to run the grocery store, do all the things, grab whatever was left in case you were late in the day. and you never really know where that beef comes from, but with Tritails beef, we skip the grocery store and do it a different way. Tritails comes from a family ranch out in Texas. They're a fifth generation American ranch,
Starting point is 00:10:42 so they've been at it for a while. Now, look, the beef comes straight from their ranch and other ranchers they work with who raise cattle the same way. Their steaks are properly aged and shipped straight from the ranch to your door. We threw a couple of ribbys on the grill. Look, salt, pepper, garlic, hot fire, that's all you need. Look, because I tell you what, when the beef comes from people who raise cattle for a living, you can taste the difference.
Starting point is 00:11:05 The tenderness and the flavor are fantastic. So if you're stocking the freezer for grilling season, go check out Triedails beef. I know in size case, Christine loves it, which is just a, she doesn't eat meat. She ain't a big meat easier, folks. Yeah. Just go to trybeef.com slash. That's tribeef.com slash support ranch families and eat some dang good steak. So, Hunter, look, you ain't getting out of this without.
Starting point is 00:11:30 answering a lot of things. Oh, I'm excited. I've got to tell you. Now Hunter's not actually running the podcast and on it, too. We have big hair. Oh, yeah. We'll have to introduce you all to him.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Big hair. Here's still. I never knew his name now. I don't know he's big hair, boys. Big hair over there. You got Hunter who luckily is a very common name because he's been hung with... Especially for the South.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Well, he's been hung with the name Slim Shady because he got that, he got that hair. That bubble-headed bleach blonde hair thing going on, look like M&M back in the day. Beachborn. Yeah. I cut it all off. You ever noticed? It's still there, though.
Starting point is 00:12:09 You ever notice? The longer your name is, the badder you are. Bad person's what I'm talking about. Bad person? Yeah. John Wilkes Booth, he's bad. Yeah. Lee Harvey Oswald, he's bad.
Starting point is 00:12:23 But a name like, when you're a little and you got them cookies, which he's like, John David, that one. Don't give me a switch. Every time my mother ever said my full name, I was in trouble. That's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Father Sparege Robinson? Long names. Uh-oh. You're bad. Yeah. Uh-oh. I'm in trouble. Huh.
Starting point is 00:12:43 I ain't ever thought of it that way. The only thing I can say about. We're all good. You know, Martin, Gavin. Si. Cy must be the best. He ain't but too later. Honor.
Starting point is 00:12:54 He's the shortest there is. John David. He's 50-50 change. He's only really good when we call him JD. Well, his first name is good. So what do you think about that? The thing about Hunter that always remind me is Hank. Every time I'll say something really funny, he's over there trying to be quiet.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Oh, yeah, he'll cackle on him. I don't have to be quiet now. Go crazy. Yeah, he'll cackle on you now. I'm trying really hard to be quiet all the time. Well, now you can talk. Now I can talk. Yeah, you've got to open.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Mike, you got any grievances you need to air against us? Yes. What's that? So last episode, you talked about how I scared everyone with a group text. You did. You did. Okay, that was word from word from Ms. Christine. Don't you blame that on that same?
Starting point is 00:13:42 I copied and pasted her words exactly, and I sent it. That's fine. Do we? Look, here's where you have to learn. Your job is editing. There's a little bit more to it. You have to learn how to edit those kinds of things so that you don't send seven other people into a panic. You don't know that yet because you're not married yet.
Starting point is 00:14:01 You learn how to filter and edit those things before you send them so that the reaction is not as severe as perhaps it should be. Maybe the situation warrants that, but you get it to a point where you can address that in person. Because via text message, there's no emotion. There is just the words. And when you see, Sai is going to miss tomorrow. He has blockage. Yeah. And you're like, and he's going to.
Starting point is 00:14:28 to the hospital. You're like, well, okay. So you just say, look, size, you know what you should have read that? It said, look, guys, we're going to cancel tomorrow. Size is out. I'll get back with you all on the schedule. I was panicking. I didn't know what to say.
Starting point is 00:14:42 It's obvious. But that's why you're trying to defend your actions. I'm trying to teach you a lesson. That's true. I ain't bad enough. Hey, I learned something. Big hair over life and saying, boy, you don't know what he signed up for getting in at your hair. So are you lying at something?
Starting point is 00:14:59 I did. Well, just now. Yeah, see? That's what life is all about. See, with the Robertson, you know good and well, we're unfiltered. Whatever comes through my mind is going to come out in my mouth. That's true statement. You know, so you got to learn to filter stuff, okay?
Starting point is 00:15:16 See, when she said that, you said, okay. Because when the doctor told me, I think you got a little blockage in your heart. Yeah, well, I looked at the same picture she did, now I'm not a doctor. Okay. Yeah. And I said, well, I don't see what she's worried about. But so I just, when I thought, I just said, well, she knows I'm doing this so that maybe I can have some suffer vows put in my lungs to help me breathe. And she wants to be, she's being overcautious.
Starting point is 00:15:50 So she ordered, you know, they run the scope up and check you hard out. which I'm glad she did because I got a good report. Yeah, well, good. But, you know, but I don't, you know, I finally learned not to let nothing, whatever said, stress me out, you know, because I remember when I had the heart attack in the woods chasing a big mother Drake, okay.
Starting point is 00:16:17 No, that was just to mollish. Oh, no, no, no, no. That scared me that, well, that night when I'm waiting to be operated on the next morning. Okay, I was just, anxiety wasn't the word, okay? My heart was right, was going up and down, and I was fluctuating bad, and Dr. White finally came in to the surgeon that was going to operate on me and said, hey, look, you need to quit this, or I'm going to have to take you in and operate tonight.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Did you quit? Oh, yeah. No, no, no, because then, he said, because I don't want to operate on you without my team. And he said, they're not in yet. So I'm sitting there and I got to thank you. And then me and God had a personal visitation. Okay, because I said, I'm sorry about all this stupid stuff I'm doing. You know, you gave me, what, 65 years of wonderful life, okay, which I did not deserve.
Starting point is 00:17:14 You've always had my back on everything I've ever done. Yeah. So, hey, if I die on the operating table, me and you are square. we're good to go. I don't really care. And I settle down and the next thing, oh, hey, the next morning goes by and they operate and everything's good. You woke up and we were all sitting there looking at me.
Starting point is 00:17:36 All right, well, let's take another break. We'll be back right after this. Speaking of emails, when I got that thing of shampoo in the mail, yeah, people thought that I run the emails. They're like, oh, what the notes say? It said something like, hey, we think your name is Hunter. we know you help out with emails. And see, that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:17:59 It's been my fondest memory of Hunter so far is when we got the box from the Bible College. They sent a huge crate of stuff. I gave out everybody's stuff that was there. And then we had a bunch of stuff left over. And I told Hunter, I said, well, no, I told him, I said, man, you got some fan mail in there. And he was like, what?
Starting point is 00:18:16 Really? I mean, like his face lit up. It was like, wait, they know who I am? Everybody needs to be love. It was weird. But it was so funny because these people, our fans, y'all that are listening, pay so close attention to the things that we say. Oh, no, yeah, they're counting stuff.
Starting point is 00:18:33 That Becky got something who, no, nobody's ever met Becky. If you don't work at Duck Commander, you ain't ever met Becky. She's a sweetheart. And she's fantastic. You know why? Because she gives us our checks. She gives out the checks. She don't sign them, but she hands them to us.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Oh, no. I love it when Becky calls me. Yeah. Because that means, hey, mailbox money, baby. Good times. I mean, I'll be right up at Ms. Becky. Yeah, that's exactly right. And then they sent.
Starting point is 00:18:59 So we got two Jennifer's. We got one Jennifer that works away from the office that does a lot of the email and a lot of stuff, Jen Taylor. And then we also have Jennifer Allen who works in the office as our graphic designer and whatnot. And they sent stuff to both Jennifer's. And it's like, man, you people are paying away. I don't pay that close of attention to like anything unless it's when I'm walking in the wood. Maybe they are seeing stuff. between that's what i'm saying i don't it's it's so bizarre so now look if you if you really
Starting point is 00:19:28 pay attention you got big hair over here we got a revolving door he might be in here next big hair what is your real name josh yeah that's why yeah it's super common so i had to hang him with something that actually is it big head oh he's a good guy yep short short name josh yeah but that's what i mean i took that i've taken that little trait from phil all the way when somebody new shows up around here, the best chance I got to remember who you are is to hang you with nicknames. Hang on, hang on a name on you, buddy. I think I was just to stay your mind. The problem is, is Phil used Jimson for just about everybody until he come up with another one.
Starting point is 00:20:05 So when he was a Jimson, you never knew if he was talking about Jimson 1 or Jimson 17. That's the same way he names dogs. No. No. Their mother showed up, mother and father. Oh, Benny. Benny. Benny.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Yeah. Oh, Benny Do-Doo. Yeah, he just had a baby Benny worked here, okay, and Phil named Jimson, okay, so they come up here and tell me, we come to see Billy, and everybody said, who?
Starting point is 00:20:32 No, he don't work here. He don't work here. And he's worked there for like three years, and everybody said, nope. And I said, oh, and they said, wait me, wait me, some field name is some nickname. Old Jimson. Yeah, and they said, oh, that's who Yeah, that's who you're after.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Yeah, we're Jimson's dad and mom. Yeah. And I never forget, they said they asked him because they were walking down the hall of the office. They said, they're asking her son, where did the name Jimson come from? He said, I think it's some kind of freshman hazing. I have no idea who these people are. It's some company deal. No idea.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Yeah, some kind of company deal. Well, Benny moved away. That's back in the 1900s. Well, I was back pre-C word. The best one, the best one he ever nicknamed from me. me was no legs. Lord. Speaking to Phil.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Wow. Well, I got it. What about Phil? Hey, I'm going to plug his book. He's got a new one out, boys, and it's 100 days of truth and freedom to heal America's soul. There you go. So, hey. 100 days.
Starting point is 00:21:37 100 days, boys. And look, page and a half about it is all they are. Page and a half. It's a page and a half long. It's a page and a half long about every one of them. Times a hundred. Times a hundred. So how many pages would that be?
Starting point is 00:21:52 100. 150 if it's a page and a half. I fell off a turn of truck, but I didn't do it last night. Well, you just miscounted all them half pages. Hey, there you go, one. Well, hey, maybe. Oh, man, I love it. Golly.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Hey, is there anything been in the newsworthy? Any much? I don't know. I'm still going through the emails. Well, I don't ever watch it either, God, when it's too depressing. It's all over. It's all depressing. It's too depressing.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Yeah. It's all drama. I saw oil finally went down yesterday. Did it? Yeah. I can tell you what you don't want to check is your retirement plan. That's miserable. Or your portfolio.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah. Well, that's part of it. Yeah. Yeah. Don't look at him. Yeah. Don't look at that. But that's fine.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Hey, look, you know what? At least we work at a place that offers that. We've got a lot to be thankful for there. I ain't worried about it. I ain't ever had that money anyway. Count your blessings named on one by one, baby. Preach it. I'll tell you this.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Me and Brittany went yesterday and picked up a new rig for her and the kids when they arrived. Those things have not gotten cheaper. Oh, no, no, no, no. They have not gotten cheaper. No, the car dollar ship, dealership, dollar ship. I said it right. It's dollar ship. That's way more fitting at this day and age.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Because baby they are expensive these days. They're proud of them babies. But I will say, you know, for us, like we hadn't had a car payment in over three years, just because we always paid extra. I don't like being in debt. Like, I don't like that. I'll eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to make an extra payment.
Starting point is 00:23:25 Like, you know, I don't like debt. Yep. And, man, when I had to pay, when I had to sign up for another car payment for a little while, luckily, I've been saving a car payment anyway. So, I mean, I was able to put a good chunk down, but when I had to finance that for a little while, I was like, man, I don't miss these days.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Like, sign up for that. automatic withdrawal from my account. I was like, man, that's gum it. It's gone. You know, but we needed it. We need it for it coming, and the folks over at the GMC place hooked us up and took care. I'd say, they took care of us. Did they give you a who?
Starting point is 00:24:01 A discamp. No, not in this day. I don't know. I don't figure out something about vehicles now. They're like al-a-cart. Like, you go in there and you buy it, and then they build it. It's kind of like ordering dinner, except, you know, it takes more than 20 minutes. You buy it, they build it, it comes in, you sign a papers, you go on with it.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And I'm like, well, boy, that's different. And then it's your problem. Yeah, then it's your problem. But, you know, they were good to us. They took care of us, got it here in a timely fashion, so I'm thankful for that. But that's the only news I got going. My house is still torn her pieces. You know, it is what it is.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Well, as mom and children doing good? They doing good. They doing good. Big mama's doing fine. That's my new name for it. Big mama. Well, she is. She's big mama.
Starting point is 00:24:48 She got two of them in there. My mom would kill me if I called her that. Huh? My mom would kill me if I called her that. See, I started this in a playful manner. See, I, what did I tell you about editing and delivery? So now she thinks it's cute that I call her big mama. I'd have just walked in one day and said, whoa, big mama.
Starting point is 00:25:03 That's not good. Bad move. So, you know, I made sure that she's okay with it. But, oh, man. Well, that is a loving term. It is. Okay. And you know what's funny.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I've called her mom. since the day we got married and we wasn't even talking about having no children. I've just always called her mama. So that's just, I knew she'd make a great one one day and here we are. But let's take another break. We'll be back right after this. All right. All right, Hunter.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Look, I told you, we got to ask you plenty of stuff while you're here. Out of all of us, I'll put you on spot. Who's your favorite? Beam, may, bang. Oh, that's. Huh? You got three of us looking at you. I know, this is scary.
Starting point is 00:25:46 You got three of us not here. Only one of us get real mad at you. I know. And that person ain't here right now. So I have my answer. Who's that? I would have to say Philip. Philip.
Starting point is 00:25:57 There you go. He said that because he ain't here. So he ain't got to look at him and tell him why he's his favorite. You don't want to get emotion. No lie. No, I don't want to turn red. I don't want to cry. I'll tell you no lie.
Starting point is 00:26:07 All of that. Okay, yeah. So Philip, I guess whenever I first started, he was like he talked to me the most. No offense to you guys. I'm just a quiet, shy person. And he would go out. of his way and talk to me the most. Well, he talks to Trouble Key at all time.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Thanks. And he invited me. Hey, you may not ever want to be on this podcast. That is his job, though. That's hilarious. Gobwin. God would. That's good.
Starting point is 00:26:37 That's good. That's worth five. He also invited me to your birthday party. Did you go? Yeah, he was there. I saw him there. Did you not see me? I don't think Gobwin was there.
Starting point is 00:26:48 I didn't get him right. Yeah, you did. Come on now. I was gone. I was gone to an event. No, that's hilarious. You started that. What?
Starting point is 00:26:58 Who's your favorite? You're looking at it. I'm looking at him, buddy. You're our favorite. You know who my favorite is? Jay Stone. Oh, Jay Stone. Well, yeah, I can believe that.
Starting point is 00:27:09 The people person. Yeah, exactly. I say that, you know, we're very fortunate in this room to work so there's six of us that are generally a revolving door on here i consider all six of them very love friends like i i can call any of y'all that work on this thing at any hour of the night and if i need something and you're able or available any of y'all will do it and and that that's rare to find i will be able and available that's what i'm saying if you're in this town and you can do even if you ain't you go make a phone call to somebody that you think can't and that that's a
Starting point is 00:27:47 rare thing to have as a work, forget work, but just in a friendship area. Well, you know, I would. It's a village. You know, I would say like, you know, you two boys were instrumental in leading me to Christ, which we've already talked about that in the past. And, you know, Johnny Dee is just, I mean, we were, we worked with a thin piece of wooden wall in between us for however long. I mean, it's kind of, I'll say this, with him gone, I'm a much more efficient worker in there.
Starting point is 00:28:16 I don't, it doesn't take me all day to get my stuff done. As you said thin walls, I'll go back to Fort Knox, Kentucky. Uh-oh. Where I actually lived in what used to be a chicken house. Chicken house. And all they did. No, no, I'm serious. And all they did was put thin walls and made little apartments, about five of them.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Which one was you in? I think I was in the middle one because the funniest happened. A new couple moved in. they were just newlyweds. Okay, and we're fixing to go to bed. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't say it.
Starting point is 00:28:52 No, no. We're in bed. I hear, I love you. And I said, boy, that guy's got a deep voice. I wake up the next morning and get ready to go to work. Oh, no. And I was an army. You know, and come out the door, and there's a young lady walked by, and she said, good morning.
Starting point is 00:29:13 And look, I'm talking about it. as deep as you can go, boys, on voice. And I said, whoop, wrong answer, dude. I come home. And I said, baby. She said, what? I said, it's not him. It's her.
Starting point is 00:29:28 And she busted out, cacking, and he had to lay an egg. I said, he had a high voice. Yeah. Oh, no. Yeah. Hold on. He did. No, no.
Starting point is 00:29:37 It was so wild when he introduced himself. Deep voice from the little lady, and she probably weighed 90 pounds soaking wet. Yeah. And then here he is. Somebody looked like me. Well, yeah, big guy. Yon, hey, high, boy.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Beach boys. It reminds me of a sign. He could hit that high note, boys. Oh, Lord, have mercy. That's so. What else? What are y'all, what are you looking at? What are you looking at?
Starting point is 00:30:06 Oh, he's on YouTube. Right. I didn't even watch with us. He's probably Googling something. He's just listening. So behind that screen, there's a switcher for where I swapped cameras, but as you saw earlier, I just hit a space bar.
Starting point is 00:30:22 I also have a tab open to write notes and editing notes in case like Sight gets too loud or gets too low because of that microphone thing. That's right. I don't stay on top of it. I believe it's called the Doppler. Like a big bullfrog that he goes down from low time. Yeah, so that's basically what Josh is doing with the computer.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Oh. Yeah, it's not much. I said a lot of words. I didn't know what they were. I didn't say that many, I thought. Switzer turns on lights. Hey, they got a show name at 25 words or less. I click it on every once in the morning.
Starting point is 00:31:02 What is that about? I don't know. Words? 25 or less? I know it's on the game show network because I see it advertised every night. I'm watching Family Feud before bed. Oh, yeah. Me and Brittany done told it turned into old.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Great thing. It's on there early in the morning. about like 8.30. You're up at 8.30? Oh, yeah. Usually I'm in bed. No, no, usually I'm still in bed. But every once in a while I wake up, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:24 when God gives me one of them AM calls and whisper some lovely words in my ear for the day, which I'm enjoying more and more. There you go. We got the boat cork. Oh, that's a float. No, it's a boat cork. I told my...
Starting point is 00:31:43 It's for the key. Car keys are the boat. Bokees. A barber. So I told my parents before coming on what I would probably do if I couldn't find someone to sit in this chair. And my mom told me to dress cute before coming on. Just cute.
Starting point is 00:32:00 You're on brand. Yeah, I'm on brand. That's perfect. So I have like a lot of these weird t-shirts. And I know you guys have noticed because you have made fun of me for them like my tie-dye shirt. Making fun of you such a strong. It's really a strong term for what I'd call it. It's a healthy...
Starting point is 00:32:16 We're interested in your career. Yeah. That's what we're doing. Consider it constructive criticism. That's right. In your career, as we mentor you. Yeah. Where else could you dress like you do and come to work and get paid?
Starting point is 00:32:31 What's a high-ass shirt? That's a multicolored thing. It's from like the 70s and the hippies wore it. That's... Oh, you're born? I was born in a high-dain-hundred. I was born in 2000. Was you?
Starting point is 00:32:43 Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Oh, so you wasn't even alive in the 1900? No, 2000. I don't even remember. Wow, that's awesome. I'll tell you what's trippy. There used to be gravel roads all over.
Starting point is 00:32:56 You know that? I never even dirt roads before the gravel. I grew up on a farm. We have many of those. Oh, yeah, he grew up on the farm right there next to field. He had Jones. He's a neighbor that floods us all summer long when we're trying to drain water. I used to hang up.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Yeah, and y'all put a board over that pipe that way We don't have to deal with them Congo's all the same. All I got to do is walk down there and close it. So I used to joke with my friends that I'm the reason that Duck Dynasty happened because we would flood the fields. Not true at all, but I would say that to people to make myself look cool. Well, y'all did flood us. It's the cool yourself, boys. Y'all did flood us and still do.
Starting point is 00:33:36 And every time feels like I guess he's irrigating again. But you know what? He can't get the water off. He don't gripe comes up. He said, hey, we're getting free water from the Joneses over there. So it's only in the spring and the summer. He gripes about it. But that's typical.
Starting point is 00:33:52 That's just, that's a perpetual thing with Phil. Well, let's take our last break. We'll be back right after this. And I'm looking for emails for you, honor. I haven't found any yet, but I'm still digging. Oh, yeah. You're going to answer the emails. We're in the mailbag.
Starting point is 00:34:13 Hello at duck callroom.com is the email address. please send us your thoughts, criticisms, concerns, questions, anything. We'll read them. I've been reading them for the last two days. And I really, I will say this for John David. I don't envy this task. I don't. This is a bunch of them?
Starting point is 00:34:33 It's a bunch of them. There are some that are like gut-wrenching almost. Look, I try to respond to them and, you know, just let you all know, look, hey, we're here for you. We're fighting with you, fighting for you. This one is like, this one's a good one. It's from our buddy Lee. He's from Manola, Oklahoma, and he just wanted us to wish him and his wife a happy 13 year anniversary. Their anniversary is right now.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Happy 30th anniversary. Lee and Lisa, happy anniversary to you guys. And hey, I like it. You're from Oklahoma. That's a good country. It gets better. I got a lot of friends in Oklahoma. I got this one.
Starting point is 00:35:15 I want to do it loud. Last. Okay. They saved the best for last, you know. Here's one that's kind of, I don't really know. It says, hello, you can call me Caveman, got the nickname from his service in the Marine. So Caveman, thank you for your service, first and foremost. It says, I live in Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:35:34 I just would like to know, what do you gentlemen, what? Okay. Just read what's weird. Yeah. What would you gentlemen tell a 34-year-old guy with everything going on in the corrupt world we live in? My wife and I are trying to find a house to live in, but it seems we can't agree on a location. I just want to feel okay and stop feeling like I'm swimming with weights tied around my ankles. And no matter how hard I swim, the deeper I go.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Thank you for reading this. So what do we have for caveman? Are you sure that's a question I can answer? Well, this is for everybody. That's just one for everybody. That's just a guy going through some things in his life that's seen some things, being a Marine, I'm sure. They can't agree on where to live. Yeah, that's a tough one, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:36:26 That's why I wanted to see if you guys were way more marriage experience than I had had some good stuff on that. First thing I would say was, do you and your wife get your head together? Okay. And make a decision on where you want to settle down. well they probably he probably knows and then she probably knows well that's what i'm saying and each other don't like the other one's location well then you've got to pick a what about word i want somewhere in the middle compromise compromise and not only that then here's this is for the man himself take you a sharp pocket knife like this one right here uh oh and wrings down and
Starting point is 00:37:11 cut them ropes off your ankles. Yep. But those ropes will be cut by a decision. Well, I'm just saying, hey, don't be dragging around excess weight. And look, with you being a Marine, I know you're comfortable with making uncomfortable decisions, you did that, you volunteered your time for our country. You served our nation. You served our nation and you served it well.
Starting point is 00:37:33 I'm certain of that. So it's in there. It's in you. Compromise is key. I found that out already in a marriage. You know, and you just got to figure out what's the least offensive is probably the best way to put it. Which location is the least offensive to you. I'll say what I've learned in my short marriage is a lot of times homes and locations mean a lot more to the women than they do the men.
Starting point is 00:37:55 So if you need to yield, I would probably yield in her favor. I would just think, say, because me personally, I always said this. Hey, I don't really care as long as when I come home, you're there. Yep. Okay? Yeah. Because, hey, everybody should know this. The woman turns a house into a home.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Amen. Okay. So long as the woman you love is in your bed with you at night, you're good to go. Yep. In my humble. And that'll come. Just keep looking. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Yep. Keep praying. pray and keep looking. All right, we got another one. It says, hello, my name is Megan. I'm 20 years old, and I live in Marietta, Georgia. My sister and I are 20 years apart. 20 years apart as a sister. She is about four months old now, but I need some help. I've never had a sibling before. I went 20 years being an only child and having a little sister is really new to me. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to be a great role model for her and show her what God already has done in her life.
Starting point is 00:39:07 See, when my sister was born, my mom had a major artery burst and my sister was drowning in my mom's blood. My mom was dying and so was my sister, but both are perfectly fine. Now both are healthy and happy. I was just wondering if there are any tips or anything so I can give me to help me out. I would really appreciate it. Thank you. So, oh, also, would y'all be okay with me sending y'all cookies that I make?
Starting point is 00:39:29 I would be okay with that. Definitely okay with that. Most definitely. That is okay. It says, are y'all allergic to anything? We're only allergic to no cookies. That's exactly right. That's the only thing. I can maybe answer this email, actually. I can't do you have, are you 20 years apart with a sibling? No. Okay. But, so I mean, I have a twin sister, but my mom had a younger sister. And, um, we're, we're the same age. So, wait. Huh? Hold on. Easy. You and your aunt are the same age. Yes. She's eight months younger than me. It's always confusing. Your aunt is eight, oh, this is wild. Yeah, you can help here. Look, I didn't even know that. Look at there. Told you. So what my mom did, my mom was basically like kind of like another mother and my aunt was basically like another sister. But my mom was like, you know, like the fun, cool mom, you know.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Yeah. I mean, that's all you can do. Yeah. Really. I can appreciate that. I would say this. She's asking, too, how to be a great role model for. Just live your life. Live your life according. These guys right here, I've said it before, Saigon, were great role models to me without even knowing that they were being role models to me.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Just by living their life by walking the walk, talking the talk, and doing it every day without interruption. So I would say let your actions speak louder than your words. when it comes to being a role model for a younger sibling. Now, I'm the baby of the family, so I don't, you know, but my brother was a great role model to me. He worked hard, did all the things a big brother should do. We fought like cats and dogs, but, you know, I guess that's what brothers do.
Starting point is 00:41:18 I was going to say, let love lead the way. There you go. Look at it. You ought to put that in us. No, no, and that's about what you were saying. Yeah. Okay. People are role models and don't even know it.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Okay, and like I tell people when they ask me for like, give me advice about raising kids. The one thing that you need to do with raising kids is, is be consistent. Always be consistent in everything that you do with them. Now, that way they know where you're coming from, and that needs to be like in concrete. Yeah. Okay. Consistency. That's a big deal.
Starting point is 00:42:05 They're consistent. Well, and it's hard to do. It is. Okay, because if you're like Martin fixed to learn, okay, if you've got two, they're individuals. Yeah. Okay. Can't raise them the same. You can't raise them.
Starting point is 00:42:20 You can't treat them the same because they're, they're, both of them are uniquely made. I can speak from experience on that. Me and my sister, total opposites. So your sister's a cool one. No, I'm kidding. Wait, wait a second. Look at there. I was just trying to get you to stumble over.
Starting point is 00:42:38 I'm like that commercial. You just threw me on the blast. I know, she's pretty cool in her own ways. I like to think I'm better in my ways, but, you know, that's just me. No, I love it. I'm just simply messing with you. I wanted to see your reaction to that. That was purely for my entertainment right there.
Starting point is 00:42:56 If we didn't think you were cool enough to hang around us, we'd have got rid of you long ago. Yeah, so. You've hung around a while and big hair too. So, yeah, when you make it that long around here, you're in. That means you got thick skin. You're bona fide. But it also means that you can give as good as you get and vice versa.
Starting point is 00:43:13 That's a big skill to have in life to like take the jokes. To turn around and give them right back. Because if you, nobody likes a punching bag. Okay. Because I'll tell you, well, this much was Robertson especially. I've noticed. If we don't pick on you, you're out. I've had a lot of practice, and I spent two weeks in Pennsylvania getting more practice from my Pennsylvania family.
Starting point is 00:43:38 They're something else. They're kind of mean, but, you know, in a loving way. He said they're kind of amazing. A little bit, but they're not. I know all about me. You know they're listening to them. I had a bunch. Yeah, they're listening.
Starting point is 00:43:51 He got his signed hats for them before they love. Absolutely. All right, Galvin. Grandfather says thank you, by the way. Oh, Gawber, you got your phone. I got on you. What verse you're going to give us? Well, that's what I want to, I'm going to ask a question that leads to, they're asking for help with a verse.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Oh, okay. So that's why I wanted to. Okay. I wanted to. So this is, our friend Jesse from Wisconsin says, I lost my grandfather today. This is about a week old. I'm sorry, Jesse. We got backlogged.
Starting point is 00:44:21 So now it's been a week. But my family and I have been having a really tough time dealing with the loss of him. Is there a Bible verse? that can help with dealing with the loss of a loved one. We would really appreciate it, thanks. So, Jesse, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Losing a loved one, never easy while we're here on this earth because we're all selfish and we want them here.
Starting point is 00:44:44 I don't know the verse. I just know part of it. Go ahead. All starts it out saying, I don't want you to grieve like the rest of the world. First, what Cy was talking about was First Thessalonians 4, starting in verse 13. It says,
Starting point is 00:44:59 sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who fall asleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen. falling asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, all rise.
Starting point is 00:45:38 With the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and left will be caught up together with them in the clouds. But there's another one that touches my heart too, that about death and family. family. This is Jesus and John. I don't know where it is right now, but one of his friends died. And he went back. He took a little time because he knew what he was going to do. But when he got there, he even knew what he was going to do. And he was so upset and wept so bitterly that they made a verse out of it.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Jesus wept. And he wasn't weeping for his friend. He was weeping for the family members that were so sad because they had lost a family member. A loved one. And he was weeping just bitterly. So grieving is a good thing. It's not a bad thing. You need to grieve correctly.
Starting point is 00:46:56 And don't hold back. grieve and don't fight grieving amen to that no it's a um there's no right way the right there is a wrong way to grieve and that's to not lean on god but there's there's no playbook for everybody because it's different just let the process run its course that that you know the good thing about this is if you believe in god you'll see him again or you will see that person again it's only a matter of time. It's only time involved there. And with the resurrection, it's like when you have
Starting point is 00:47:34 surgery and they put you to sleep. You may have went through 18 hours of surgery, okay, but you closed your eyes, then you woke up. No time has gone anywhere. Yep. Okay. That's the cool thing. We will see them again. Amen.
Starting point is 00:47:51 And we'll see y'all again right here in the duck call room, but for now, y'all stay tuned for another clip from Sy's new show, Duck Family Treasure. Check it out on Fox Nation. It is streaming everywhere now. And if you are a military or first responder, you get one year of free Fox Nation. So be sure and check that out. Thank y'all. We'll see y'all next time right here in the duck call room. We're out. And that's another one. Thanks for not kicking me on. No, you good, honey. Well, I got accused of being a hoarder, and I know it runs in my family.
Starting point is 00:48:25 Oh, definitely. But I am not a hoarder. Your mother is the greatest hoarder ever. I said it runs in the family well I just tell you you've got the gene now I don't like to sell things but that doesn't make me a hoarder I've been at your house yeah you're a hoarder if I don't like it I either blow it up or burn it I don't sell it though boys where we treasure hunting this week I got a hot lead on where we need to go I'm duck hunting they hired somebody kid good kid well-mannered got to take him You know, filming the duck forward hunting. He said his dad has 3,000 acres over around Grant's Canal on the Louisiana side.
Starting point is 00:49:13 My heart skipped to beat. Grant's Canal, you said? That's what he said. And I said, well, has anybody ever detected around there? And he said, not to my knowledge. Of course, he hadn't been here long. I mean, he looked like he was 18, 20 years old. You're talking about Clint.
Starting point is 00:49:30 The Clint. How was his name? The new cameraman. The Clint. He does what I used to do. He's been doing with me and the down a lot. Oh, that's the first time I had met him. How long has he been working here?
Starting point is 00:49:40 Oh, six months. Well, who hired him? Well, whoever does the hire. You know. Well, I don't know his father owned all that property. Well, I didn't either. Three thousand acres? Three thousand.
Starting point is 00:49:54 What is Grant's? What is it? That's somewhere about Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh, Mississippi River. It's pretty famous happening there. Wasn't they trying to reroute the Mississippi? Yes, they were trying to change the course of the Mississippi and take all their boats across the canal and get past the guns of Bexburg.
Starting point is 00:50:15 There were a lot of people there in the 1800s. A lot of men with shovels. And guess what? In coins. It didn't work. The canal didn't work. So there could be firearm. firearms there was tents there was a little city there there was thousand
Starting point is 00:50:32 they was probably three or four thousand people they're working on this canal they had shovels and picks and the implements the buttons the bullets the rifles coins if they had them coins if they've had any there's definitely some some something to be found there it should be some shells like this there what do y'all want to see if I can get us this place I mean we're gonna have to go through Clint do you want to meet him you bet should we go get him Yeah, we should go get him. Yeah, we're going to get him.
Starting point is 00:51:01 I'm going to get him. I'm going to get him. I'm going to use that. There he is. Clint, come on in. Here, I'll get you a chair. Here, let's get him on my might. Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome Mr. Clint, Hargrave.
Starting point is 00:51:18 That's right. Hardgrave. You can hear yourself think in those. No pressure, buddy. It's going to be okay. Now, the reason we have. We called you in here because we had this conversation in the duck line and you told me that your dad has acquired some property. It's near Grants Canal. Really near Grants Canal. Y'all may have been living the whole time while you were being raised just on a treasure trove and didn't know it.
Starting point is 00:51:46 I mean, I can give him a call. We can find out. Let's give him a call. You going to do it now? Oh, you're going to do it now? I can call him right now. Call him up. Tell him he's, we're actually live on the air here. So any sign that he don't want to do it, just hang up and act like you buttoned out him. That's your exit tragedy. Hello. Hey, Dad. Hey.
Starting point is 00:52:12 So I'm sitting right here with Jace and Jep and Cy and Mr. Murray and your own speaker. We're doing a podcast. But, um, so they're big into like treasure hunting. They're interested in coming and hunting down near Grant's Canal. and I told him that we're right next to that, so they want to come treasure hunt on the farm? Yeah, they can come do that.
Starting point is 00:52:33 Yeah. Okay. We have property that actually adjoins Grants Canal. We also have some surrounding the area, so there'll be plenty of property for them to hunt. I'll tell you what, we appreciate you letting us come out. Get clear to give you my contact information. Just holler me one day when you want to ride over, and I'll meet you there.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Love it. We appreciate it. We look forward to it. Y'all can come hunt all you want, as you'll keep him employed. Love it. Good deal. I like this deal. All right. Talk to y'all later. Okay. We'll give you a report.
Starting point is 00:53:04 Yeah, y'all make sure to send me some pictures. All right, we will. I knew I liked you for some reason, claim? Yeah, I did, too. Now, grow your whiskers out. All right, boys, I like it. I'm fired up. Hey, y'all go down there, okay, find the merchandise, the minibals, the bullets, all this good stuff. Mark Brewster is having a special auction here in good. next couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:53:27 Brister? Yeah. Mark Brewster. The auctioneer? His name is Brister, not Brewster. Yeah. Mark Brewster. Brister.
Starting point is 00:53:36 I call him Brewster. Look, y'all need to get busy and find some stuff. And we'll prepare our auction to sell it all. So I'm not hunting so I can sell things. I either want to give it back or keep it. What are you doing with it? I'm collecting it. I'm not selling it.
Starting point is 00:53:56 I'm collecting stuff too. I also would like to make a little side money. Yeah, I'm fixing it. All right. So, Sia, you could actually set something up with Mark. We could actually sell this stuff. All right, I'll do that. I will go and set it up for this weekend. I'm going there to buy. I'm not going there to sell. You know what I'm thinking? That sounds dangerous. I'm thinking about Bob Barker. Come on down. The price is right.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Hey, guys, I love a good auction. Fold to the man wearing that. Are we all wearing a hat?
