We gotta get you a cell phone. For what? For why? It won't work. I got three at the house. Well, the biggest thing they got on them as an alarm clock so that you don't sleep till 10.30. Well, no, I knocked that thing off. Huh?

That's the thing about a cell phone's alarm. You got an old school? Hey, look here. This old man's going to get his beauty rest. Do you have an alarm clock? Yeah, I got alarm clock. Hey, did we tell that story here about Philip coming out? Oh, yeah.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, you thought it was your security system, but it was your alarm. I don't beat that security system code in there for 10-50 times. And they kept saying, hey, put this code in. I said, I've already put that in it. Well, next time I know, he'll scrawling tires. He comes sliding sideways. And it's your alarm clock.

It's an alarm clock. Next day I do. He said, that sounds like it comes from the bedroom. Next day I hear that alarm clock shattered against the wall. He doesn't yanked it out. And I mean, two pieces. And then next day, here, squalling again. I ain't talked to the boy in three weeks after that.

Every time I'd call over, I'd say, Alicia, he's going to talk to me today? I got me to find him. She said, I don't know if he'll talk to you or not. He got mad. Yeah, he's still mad. He's still mad. I said, well, hey, you know, get over.

The reason we were talking about this is we had the podcast 10 o'clock this morning. And some morning here it wasn't. Yeah, we all got here. I wasn't here. Yeah. Well, what it shows you, there were two of us here. I wasn't here either. I had no idea.

And that's the two that actually work at this place for a paycheck. Yeah. Well, I was fixing. The other two. Some boy out of the longer. We were out and about. That's all I got to say. Right.

It's all use a movie line. We have a failure to communicate going on here. Well, I started a little chain text that hopefully will fix to the issue of communication. I doubt it. I doubt it. Well, I ain't nothing going to fix communication if a man sleeps till 10 o'clock in the morning. That's true.

How do you think I get this pretty? I get plenty of beauty rest. You ought to be prettier than that. Well, hey. Hey, because I ain't trying. Because I'm definitely getting my rest. You are fired up today. I love it.

No, look, I'm telling you, we had a retreat at the time. church and the guys involved in it done a fantastic job well one of the guys involved with it sitting right beside you he don't look as fired up as you well there's a there's the thing about jesus they did their job sometimes he doesn't let you sleep and sometimes there's bigger things than sleep brother and your weakness hey is made perfect oh my goodness gracious you did pay look here i've that's funny he said that because i already got the bible verse today pulled up and it's It is that one. Hey, I'm telling you, the older you get, okay, you finally start getting a little bit of sense. Okay, because you ain't got no one of you young. Oh, preach it. I'm serious. Oh, I'm agreeing with you wholeheartedly. Every time I go somewhere here lately, someone or something has a fabulous message to give. And, hey, Sunday was one. Hmm.

Okay, because I've never been good, you know, because I've always, I'm my own worst enemies, okay, because I always look, you know, I make comparisons, you know. Man, I wish I was like that guy over there, you know. He's always just on point and, you know, got it together and all that, yeah. Yeah, yeah, but I find out, hey, there is strength and weakness. preach. You know what I'm saying?

One of the... The reason, you know, Brian was one that done the lesson, most of it. Yeah, for those that don't know, Rucker preached it. Side WFR yesterday. Rucker is the guy, if you watch Doug Dynasty, he was once running the snow cone stand outside, and now he's just bringing the hellfire and brimstone sermons from the pulpit, baby. No, he brought it, I'm telling you, okay?

and you would never think because he's so, the word that comes to mind, and he's shy and real quiet. Okay, well, now we're talking about different human beings. Time out. The last thing he was, yeah, the last thing he was yesterday, okay, was quiet and shy. He ain't been that since I've known him.

Well, hey, look, when I was around the guy, maybe he gets nervous around you. He probably just scared of you. Because knowing his past occupations, you couldn't be quiet and shy, Not to do that. Not to do that. And he'd tell you.

Look, Brian Rucker. Hey, he brought it. He brought it. Yes. For the people that don't know Rucker, we told you's in the show, you see all this stuff if you're watching on YouTube on our tables. This is Brian Rucker. Because he let one person sign the table. And then he just started carrying Sharpies with him.

And like, hey, y'all want to sign the table? And everybody that comes through for the tour. Yeah. He came in my office and said, I got the best. thing ever going. Everybody's just signing the table. I was like, you know, we film in there, right? I came in here just signatures everywhere.

Well, I know, but back to weakness and strength. Back to the important part. You would never think about, okay, you've got just a problem that you're trying to deal with yourself. You're trying to handle it, okay, and you won't come down to Jesus and let Jesus take care of it for you. Well, I never thought about, hey, going down front is actually showing your strength. And then confessing, hey, look, I got a problem.

I need help to find out last. I agree. One of the greatest strengths you can have is knowing your weaknesses. Yeah, and surrender. Yeah. But that's a hard, I mean. No, that's why the whole lesson was awesome. But you grow up and you're taught as men especially.

Well, yeah. Don't show no weakness. Don't show no weakness. Oh, you can't cry. Yeah. What do you mean I can't? cry. Yeah, I can't cry like a little baby. And the Robertson code.

One of these days I'm going to grow up, hopefully. Well, I doubt it. And never accept blame. All right. You've got to figure out who's that father. I'll forgive with that. And the best part is, going down and look at the mirror and say, yeah, yeah, you're the one that turned the darn dogs loose.

National pastime, transfer the blame. So we built the big dump across the cutoff. I say we. I still can't believe that it blowed out. Phil and Jimmy Redd were the architects of said dump. Well, there's one thing I can assure you it wasn't square. It was not. It wasn't plum, that's for sure.

So the first big flash flood come along. It wasn't that big. It wasn't a big flash flood. Three inch. Three inch rain. Blue half of it down the creek. Yeah. And look, this is clay, okay, packed and drove over with a trackhole numerous times, okay.

And clay is hard when it dries out. Well, it dries out. Well, I'm not a, I'm not. an expert in such things by any means but i would think you would need something other than just gumbo yeah to help and you know we had one pipe i mean it's pretty big uh pretty big duck that thing 40 40 feet wide and about 80 feet long and it's gone it's gone nothing but the pipe just from a three-inch rain yeah see that's why one of the people said oh i can't believe in this flood well hey why do you think there's fossils on

on top of mountains and rock. That means there was a big water at one time. So now there's, Phil's looking around trying to assess blame on that deal. Oh, hey, by the way, I got a car that's got a phone number on it, and they deal in pipes. If y'all hadn't found it. We need a pipe.

We need about a 40, well, we need two pipe, 40 foot, about 48-inch pipe. Well, I've got a phone number. on a car, that's what they do for a living, make pipes. So it turns out one pipe wasn't enough. We need about three pipes. Yeah. And I don't know if that's going to be enough if it decides to rain more than three. It has some rock.

So it sounds like that an engineer was finally consulted on this. And the math was done. Yeah, they finally got a guy over there. The beavers, given time the beavers will help us because they'll jam sticks and rocks and everything else in there and beat it in there with their tail. But not on the first one. Not on the first one.

They didn't help us. But going back to this morning, so I called Sy's house like five times. You were there. Uh-huh. I called the house five times phone rang, no answer, no answer. I called Christine's cell phone, no answer, no answer. So I called my wife, and I said, look. You got to get in the car.

I see you go out to go wake up Uncle Syne. She goes over to his house and wakes him up. You were just out asleep for the, still? And she said, well, I knocked on the door and Christine come up in her nightgown. She said, they was all still asleep. Good for you, old man. There you go. Hey, man.

What else have I got to do? His podcast? I ain't got up yet. Watch TV. Okay. What time does live from Daryl's house come on? About 9 o'clock. I've been missing it.

I do have a question for you. Something I considered this weekend while I was fishing. You know, growing up before you get a boat, all you can do is fish down the bank, right? That's all you can do. Yes, sir. Well, then you get a boat

and what's the first thing you do? You go fished a boat. bank you're standing on the bank you want fish out there yeah and then you get a way to get out there and fold against the bank and then you turn go to the bank what's that about why what are we as humans I don't get it well we ain't too bright to begin with sorry we had a little wire malfunction folks technical difficulties there's a weird cut in there it only took a hundred and something episodes for for a mic wire to go out so like at 120 I think we're doing good jace caught a bunch of up on a jig pole.

Yep, yep. And Phil, he's got a license to sit and hats out for catfish. He calls a couple big nice hops, weigh about five, six pound piece. Hoop nuts? He laid them up, fried up. Yeah. You did have a fee. Oh, I heard, the story I heard was Jace bought a bunch of Shiner's and caught Willie's fish out of his pond.

Yeah, Willie paid for the whole thing. Oh. We caught his fish, yon. He said, where do you get his shouters from? Johnny Dee ain't seen him at the honey hole. He's shopping at the competitors now. Oh, man, James! Here we go.

Now, y'all, y'all do got the best minors. So ours had a cricket side. You had the minors side. Hitch fish or diet try. Yeah, the our menace fish or diet try and I like it. That's a good one. It's our only guarantee. How did they cook them?

Meal or mustard? Mustards. Yeah. And then the meal on the cats. On the ox, of course. Yeah. They were fine. They didn't do the godwin.

I hadn't had a good opportunity all the time, so I had about four pieces. It was fine. Oh. I'm starving. You want some fried fish? I caught a few this weekend. I cut the sides off of. Have you on?

What did you catch? I caught some crappie. I caught some bass. I caught some drum. Caught some catfish. Here's what I. You're cleaning them drums? No, I threw them back.

You must go to the river. I went to the duck hole over. that floods. Yeah, it's got a lot of trash in it. But I did find out something that I thought, I figured I knew, but I didn't know. Everything that swims will eat a dead-cum chatter bait. It's unbelievable.

And when you have a four-pound catfish dough pop that sucker, he is like just a freight train going the other way when he hits it. Yeah, catching a catfish on a moving bay. You just, that's why you go, because you do stuff, you don't, you ain't ever. done before every time you go. No, no, because that, in Granada, we was fishing for Cropy. Yeah.

And we was using the three-inch crankbait. Crank bait. And hey, we caught 25 high channeled catfish. And they do pop. Oh, no, no, they take it. If you ain't ready, they'll take it away from you. Yeah, he mad. Five, real, and all.

I don't know why that catfish got such a bad attitude. Hey. And your whole life, you're taught fish on the bottom for catfish and this at the other. No, they're running down a daggum bait going two miles an hour. Just train wrecked. No, no, yeah. I guess they get mad enough at it, but they just, that's what they do. That's why when you get on like a log gem in an old river where it's changed current,

fishing a logjam, you can't put us trying it down there like you're talking about. And we try to keep the cane pole from hitting the water. Oh, when they hit it? Putting the catfish down. You can't do it. Yeah, couldn't do it. Ain't no chance. Well, there's something about they come up, they come up, and then they hit a hundred mile an hour going down.

Oh. And it's, wow. Yeah. Can't keep them from head to the water in water? Huh? But they all fun to catch. Oh, they're fun, yeah. We're weighing about three to five pounds.

You get one of big five-pound, high fins, channels. Yeah, I forgot just how strong their mouth is. Oh, yeah. You can check the top of my thumb for that. He got me pretty good on that one. clamp down on my thumb. I was like, I just want my $20 cricket back. Yeah, I grab, I'm going to live.

I just want my cricket back. I grabbed a 30 pound up on the Trotland. Bad call. And hey, and I didn't have a net. I didn't have my oil field gloves. So I had to grab him barehanded. And when I grabbed his lip, he clamped down. And then he started doing this.

And hey, he just. It shows makes you thankful that they don't think humans. are a good meal because you wouldn't ever go swimming. Oh, hat sucker. Hey, hat sucker clean both sides. You talking about hurt and you told me bleed like a stuck pick. Top and bottom. Whoa.

Oh, man. I do love springtime spot. My only complaint, my eyes in this pollen. Oh, I'm walking around and people are like, hey, man, are you okay? I'm like, it's just, it's the allergies. The hood of my black pickup truck is yellow. It's yellow. That's thick.

All the difference is during the winter it's brown and mud. It ain't like you wash it. Oh, yeah. So you got about three layers of protection before you get to the paint on it. Have you ever washed that truck? Yeah, I've washed it. Okay. You personally?

Every time I go to the west and have the oil chains, they run it through the ordinary that thing too. Okay. Yeah, run it through. And vacuum it and all that and wipe it down. Yeah. It can smell you. It looks like new again.

It even smells good. For three days, it looks pretty good until I run into my hole. Oh, man. That's kind of how you live your whole life. Every 3,000 miles, clean up. Run yourself through a shower. Uh-oh, here goes the gong.

No, he's just fixing it. Just straightening it up. It's straightening up. It fell while it going and it got crooked. Well, let's take a break. Sire, let's take a break. When we come back, I got an idea I want to float past you. For a fun pastime, I believe.

Oh. So in there, it's also got the jumping carp, the Asian carp that are such a problem. In whatever the activity is, I want to be a part of it. Okay. So I've always wanted to do this, but I know. never knew a place on private land that would allow you to do it that that had the jumping car yeah well i got us a place now let's say i'd get my boat because when you when you motoring the hum of the motor makes them jump i get my boat i get you a helmet and i got you a good seed

on the back of my boat and we trim that baby up and we go about half throttle and make them things jump and when they do you take that 28 gauge and you just yell him well now is that legal or ill legal i was i knew where you were probably going 100% legal it's legal because it's private property oh it's legal yeah it's private property we're not on a baby hey this party let's get this party started i'm going to have to sign a waiver if you shoot my motor i'm going to have you reimburse me but he's going to show up now we got technical difficulties i don't think there's enough shells in this building to bring to this one ain't like you see on tv with like 500 of them jumping at one time

this one's a little more controlled but they're all biggins they're all like 20 30 pounds that reminded me i'm i'm stationed in massachusetts okay and i can't even remember fort devins yeah four davins in massachusetts i'm there and I am, you know, bought me a fly rod, bought me some fights, you know, you got the Mayfly artificial lure. Well, Mayfly season is fixing to happen. Is it May? Oh, yeah.

Oh, okay. Yeah. So anyway, that evening, okay, bam, Mayfly season is open because there is millions of them hitting the water. And look, there is literally this. I'm in, okay, about this deep, is literally slam full of browns, rainbows, and they're jumping everywhere. Okay, and they will not hit what I've got on my fly rock. So I go to the bank, take my pocketknife out, and I find me a good limb, about the size of the baseball bat, about six foot long.

I cut it, okay, get all the limbs trims off of it. And I'm out in there, and these fish have been jumping over my flyer. ride. I said, well, hey, I'll just get out there with a baseball bat and knock them to the bank. Nope. You're taking free swing. You tried? But, hey, for about an hour and a half till dark, I was doing my best. You can't hit them.

Too fast. Now, here's what I'll say, look, for y'all that's listening that may not be into the things we're into on these Asian carp and you're here talking about me shooting something and leaving it. Oh, it's a dangerous. These things are highly invasive. and they're dangerous. They're ruining our waterways and our fisheries, so we've got to get them out of here. So that's the purpose of this.

I don't believe in catching and killing nothing you ain't going to use, but this thing, if we don't get a hold of them. It's a nuisance. It's a nuisance, and it's going to completely ruin our fisheries and our waterways. You ain't going to be able to drive a boat down none of them. If I can afford the arrows, I'd rush shoot them with a borne arrow.

No. Yeah. No, that's hard. Well, I know, but it's fun. This thing going to be just like. Josh, we went bow fishing. Well, that's fun, shooting them in the water, but out of the water. It's like a giant.

Well, no, no, when they come out. But hey, it's dangerous molding. Yeah. I've had this thing slap me upside the head. Well, when you're running, they're pretty good, you know, we got you, like a 20 horse market. Oh, yeah. There's guys on YouTube.

They got samurai swords. They're on skis. Yeah. They do it on skis with dip nets and catch them, and they try to do all kinds of stupid things. and tricks. We're going to go a little safer. We're just going to get a gun. Yeah, 28 gates. Please don't shoot a hole in my boat. Oh, I ain't going to shoot a hole in my boat.

Oh, man. I'm actually thinking maybe I bring some of my pistols. No, no. You're not getting, you ain't getting in my boat with that. No. Oh, hey, I won't shoot a hard of you. I trust you with a shotgun. You ain't getting in there with no pistol. That pistol bullet keep going. Yeah. That's true. That shotgun going to hit the water and stop right there. Yeah. Yeah. So. So, yeah, but it'd be a lot of fun. But I think we could have some fun. Oh.

Hold on. And we're doing the world a great service by doing so. Just being a serving attitude. Make sure y'all capture that on video. Oh, no. That's a hoot just running down the river, okay? You know, because Lafouce River, you run down there, and they jump in everywhere. Oh, man.

That's where these come from. They come out of the Bayouille, Lafouce. That's how those got in there. I mean, you're sitting there dodging. Y'all, tell me. Oh, yeah. I had. Hey, boom.

Brittany hadn't ever seen them before until yesterday. Didn't that first one come out of the water? She said, what was that? Because she just heard the splash behind us. I said, turn around and look behind us. And then here they go. That reminds me. 12-mile by you.

Diction of Louisiana, it's about all eight miles from the house before we lived. We used to go and set tow lines out of it. And at night, I don't know what it was. But it was big. It was silver. It actually would come out of the water like a whale, and then, you know, splat. It wasn't spoonbill? No, wasn't a gar.

How big was it? Big. Big. That way, I figured some of them weighs 60 pounds. Now, I did see a big yellow carp, common carp yesterday come out of the water and breach. I was like, what's he doing? I don't know what these things. Every time we went down there and set out throw lines on that stupid club.

my bowel okay and at night they'd be jumping. Was it 12 miles long? I think so. I think that's why they caught 12 my bio it is. I sure hope so. I just wanted Well anything it's full of fish. Cropby, bass catfish. Yeah.

But I don't know what that stupid thing was. It reminded me it looked like a tarpins but I know it ain't tarpour. No, he wouldn't be there. Yeah. Saltwater. But then that's what it looked like. It was a tarpins. I mean some of them was soft. 50, 60 pounds, you know, six foot long.

Those Asian cart wouldn't have been around back then. No, shouldn't it be? I wouldn't think. Now, them things come from, you know, how they got here. That's good catfish, mate. Well, there was boys up there. There was boys up there in Missouri, that area, that said, we're going to grow these cart for cat food and some ponds,

retained ponds, right? Yeah. Well, that's all fine until that big muddy river gets out of its banks and gets into your stockpond. Yeah, and runs through them. stock ponds and cleans all of them fish with them. And then here we go. The next thing you know, because there ain't no predators for them or nothing like that, and they just come in there and replace

the food chain. We had a pond fish for bass, and it had goldfish, okay, that was 10 pounds. Yeah. A 10 pound goldfish? Yeah. Oh, that was pretty. We'd walk up at that pond.

Good, great. Look at that. Yeah. Coy problem. It was just, yeah. Yeah. It was a carp. But biggings.

Biggham. Oh, they sell goldfish right there for trot line bait. Oh, no, no, no. 35 cents piece. Oh, hey, not on that. If you know what you're doing, hey, you can bait them up, leave them out for a month, and they'll live.

Goldfish tough, which is weird because kids are killing. Especially if you just hook them right behind the eye. Right behind the eye. Both sides. I have some. Put them in two, that way they're swimming like they're supposed to. And, hey, they'll live on a trout line for a month, about for a half, two months.

Good, I'd live it. Well, no, no, I'll tell you. I don't. It either catches the fish, then there's the one that will die trying. The goldfish? It's a goldfish. Okay, because, hey, that's like it's tough now.

Boy, it's a hard-knock life if you're a goldfish. You either end up at the fair or on a trot line. That's it, boy, they're in a bowl. That's a good life. Die a lot quicker at the fair. Yeah, they do. As many of them have sent it up down to turlet. Oh, well.

We have people come by goldfish for pets because we have them just for the Oh, cheaper bait. Cheaper in Petco? We're cheaper than the pet. That's why right now they've got a problem with 35 cents, baby. With exotic snakes in Florida. Oh, snakes, fish, everything. And they bought it as a pet.

Equitas. And then, hey, guess what? He got big, so they're turning it loose. Yeah, I can't have it anymore. Now we've got people that are on them all over from Florida trying to, you know. Get rid of them. They have iguana guides now down to South Florida. Eguana guides.

You can purchase an iguana hunt. Oh, yeah. And pythons. You can hunt iguanas? With air rifles. Air rifles and blow guns. That's how they kill them. Yeah.

I would feel weird shooting an iguana. They skin that big old lizard. Mm-hmm. Ain't ever been to Key West? That's actually good eat. Oh, that's actually good eat. Yeah. That sounds actually good eat.

The only thing, I don't know, the iguanas may outnumbered the chickens now in Key West. I don't know. Just got just. Just iguanas and chickens roaming everyone? Sounds like a good time. Yeah. Ain't enough rednecks down. I wish I had my voice.

I sound weird today. That's fine. Ain't enough redneck down. Oh. Well, let's take another break. We'll be back right after you. I spent some time this last few days up in Springfield, Missouri. At the Bass Pro Shop.

Bass Pro Shop. They had a big event up there. Barton sent me up there to work. Press the flesh and whatnot. but I will say I witnessed some really good things while I was there. Okay. So at the event, I guess Saturday morning, they had, I forgot the name of the group, but it was a group.

They sang the national anthem. And when that national anthem started, I'm looking around, there's hundreds of people in this tent looking at hunting stuff from all walks of life. Okay. When they started singing, everybody within sight of where I was stopped what they were doing, took their lids off their heads, put their hand over their heart, and turn and face the direction where the flag was. No, one exception. Everybody. Good patriot people. in there. Yep. So that was, and that, that gave me chills.

So there's still hope for America. In South Missouri and North Arkansas in that area, a lot of patriotic people, a lot of good people. But that kind of hit home with me, I thought it was a pretty cool deal. We don't see enough of that. Oh, I know it. Okay, because the media, the media wouldn't cover it anyway.

Okay, because, you know, they don't do things. things like it, which they should. I ain't ever served, and every time I hear that national anthem, I get to you. Yeah. Especially when you look around and there's a bunch of people doing it with you. Well, they got a thing on television right now about it was showing how this country was settled. Okay, when everybody was, you know, the legendary men of helped that settle this land, Daniel Boone, all around. I didn't know that Boonesboro was very important in our struggle for freedom.

They had that on last night, I watched it. Really? Which was pretty cool. The Pony Indians put Boonsboro under siege for 11 days. And the Almighty had to intervene. Okay. Because the Indians had them understanding for 10 days. Well, the opponent chief finally said, okay, well, hey, we can't, we're not going to win this.

So let's burn it down. So he started shooting, they all started shooting hours, fire hours on the thing. And they had lit it on fire, the whole compound, okay. And then, hey, the Almighty had intervened with rain. put it out, which was pretty cool. That's what people don't realize, hey, this land was settled with men and women who toaded Bibles and lived the life, believing in Jesus was the Son of God. Okay.

That's the one reason they carted ocean, religious freedom. So it was cool to watch it, but I, see, I didn't know. Boomsboro was very important in the war. against the British. Where is Boonesboro? Kentucky. Oh, okay. I figured it was.

There's a lot of boroughs up there through Kentucky and Tennessee and all that area. A lot of boroughs. We got a lot of veils down here. Yeah, a lot of vials. That was the most unbelievable story that they've ever heard. and the things that have happened to feel in his lifetime are incredible and this to me is top two of the most incredible things ever to happen to Phil Roberts in his lifetime. People don't know. Your mother, granny, your Phil's mother, went on the prices right. Didn't Harold take her there for a birthday or something? Harold and Mary. Harold and Mary.

Phil's older brother. Phil's old old brother. Took her to California because she loved the prices right. How old was she at this time? 84. 84 years old. Sharp is attack. And didn't win one showcase.

She won both of them. Went to the Price's Right, got called up. And she had told, the way the story goes, she had told all y'all that if she ever got up there, if Bob Barker called her name, she would win it. She would win both showcases. They played that game where they had the grocery items.

She got every one of them not just close to the penny. Oh, no, no, her and dad. She's been watching that show. No, no, growing up, I remember just like it was yesterday, okay? Yeah. Daddy and Mama would argue about who won. They'd watch it, and every night, you know, they'd come. Because at the end of, it's always two people and they, you know,

okay, here's your showcase. You can pass or you can bid on it. Y'all, and they sit there and talking about, you want this or you want me to pass it to you? You know, I'm talking, hey, no, you bid on it. I don't want it. Oh. But anyway, hey, they watched it religiously every time they're on.

Oh, hey, I know that feeling because when I was growing up, I didn't have to stay no babysitter or childcare. I stayed with my grandparents because they both retired. Everybody knew from the hours of 10 to 2, you didn't touch that TV. Because at 10 o'clock, you had prices right. Yeah. At 11 o'clock, Mamma had to watch a young and a wrestling. Yep, stories.

12 o'clock news had to watch what, because, you know, three hours ago, something else doesn't happen. Yeah. I never understood it. Then 12.30 was like bold and beautiful. It's 30 minutes. Oh, more stories. And then you had as a world turn. Yep.

Yep. She didn't like nothing at 2 o'clock bags. The 2 o'clock she was back out in the garden. Did she call them her story? Oh, yeah, her story. Mamma Stone, same way. Got to watch my stories. And she'd watch all that while she was cooking Papal and me lunch

because she cooked a hot lunch every day, just like Phil and Kay did when we worked down there. Ma'amaw. Papal always had hot lunch. Mamma cooked a pot of pentold beans and cornbread. She had one every day. And the staple of hers, there was always a pot of purple whole peas. Yep.

Summertime. Or butter beans, what we call them. But, you know, yeah, lima beans, whatever you want to call them. But we call them butter beans because you grew them in the garden. But every time, every day, you can count on that. And some version of cornbread, whether it be skillet cornbread or hot water cornbread, there was always a version. Mama was by herself. We always asked you.

When were you cooking up a big six-quart bar of pinto beans for and two pans of cornbread? Never know. Somebody going to stop back. No one somebody might stop by. Those are some good memories, aren't they? I guarantee. And hey, not a day ever went by that someone, somewhere in that town or either just a hobo. Yeah.

Knock on that door. Yep. What you got to eat? Yeah. I'm serious. I always as a kid, I remember I just. I got chill bumps on it because, hey, that was important to me. Okay.

I sitting there waiting on that clock to get to two. because I knew at 2 o'clock I could then con her in to go fishing at the pond across the street you didn't have to ask her hard because she'd go with you now but she was going to tote that five-gallon bucket because whatever you caught

we come back and knock sides off of it didn't matter it didn't matter what it was you were talking about that and Irene her kids was talking about that I miss being mama because hey she always loads up

in that old pick up and we'd go to Black Bile yeah catch that mess up Big old cheeky pants. We go back to the prices right. So Granny gets on there and not only wins one showcase, she wins both showcases, two new cars. So I saw the video.

It's got to be on the Internet somewhere. Merritt Robertson wins both showcases prices right. Now, this is Phyllis Mama. You can't make that up. That's unreal. It's unreal. And look, see, you've such, so good with them numbers you know what else is weird my wife every contact in her phone she

About Jesus? No, no. I didn't see that. Oh, so he gets up there, and I appreciate Christian reminded me of this, is why I'm reading this email. Because we all want you like wrestling. Wrestling's awesome.

So he gets up there. and in his introduction, he thanks his wife for helping him. And the whole crowd's like kind of listening. He's like, for helping me restore my relationship with Jesus Christ. And the crowd goes. So like he is so awesome to see him. You know, WWE, there's not a lot of preaching and gospel going on there. Yeah.

But the Undertaker brought it. Well, and especially with a man like a name Undertaker who was known for burying people. I mean, you wouldn't necessarily associate him with Jesus. I'll say this, though, as a kid, low kid. I scared to death of Undertaker. Like that boy, he rolled them eyes back in the back of his head. Uh-uh. No, sir.

Like, don't you come around me, son. But you know what's wild now with the way TV works. No, you can't go back and watch. Yeah, there it is. Nope. That man just got up on. He scared me to death. Hey, and got on stage and kind of got emotional talking about Jesus.

That's awesome. That's awesome. Hey, he's a hunter too. He is. And he is a man's man. Like to hunt and fish? Yeah, he'd be hard to hide, doing it. Our friends over at Nine Line, they're buddies with him. And they don't, they can't say enough good things about him.

My daughter's being influenced by a dusty. rusty roads she's going to whoop carter one day in that neighborhood carter just going to be walking around and she's going to be pahow but you know it it's back in them days that was good wholesome entertainment you know they got a little risque you know for a little while but but this back now to where it's actually pretty fun to watch but that's her favorite thing to do now is is turn on the roll rumble and her favorite one is the 1992 when rick flare come in at number three and won the whole thing.

That is amazing that she's watching 1992 wrestling videos. The funniest thing I go, I'm over there to eat. They invited me over for supper, steak dinner. I come in and I sit down in the chair. I'm sitting there and the blonde tornadoes comes running in the room, she gets right in front of me and looked at it in the stomach. You want to wrestle. I said, no, sage, I don't want to wrestle.

Oh, ma'am. You'll hurt me. No, ma'am. You ain't hurting me. Because she comes in and she was bowed up, talking about, Uncle's out, you want to wrestle. No. Oh, that's funny stuff.

But I just thought that was cool. To see a man's man of like, and he got a little emotional, and then we talked about weaknesses and being strong. And just to see him know, like after every, I mean, the pinnacle of success in what he did, Hall of Fame, everybody immediately knows who the Undertaker is. and he said, thank you to my wife for restoring my relationship with Jesus.

That's amazing. That sounds kind of familiar. Yeah. Sound like a feeling K kind of mind. Behind every good man, there's a good woman. Sound kind of like a feeling K. Oh, my. Here goes to lemon juice.

Roll-tide. Oh, did I say that on accident? I did. She loves her job, but for the past year, too, her co-workers been lacking. They don't really put in the effort that she's putting in. And she feels like she's always the only one putting in most of the work, and she's just carrying their load. Her boss, their boss has spoke to them,

but nothing's changing, and I'm getting irritated. I would hate to start being like them and just riding the coattails of somebody else, but I'm tired of doing everything. What should I do? First of all, let me say, around the bowl, down the hole. Roll-tide, roll. I didn't know where we were going with that. That ought to carry you through, baby.

No, just keep working. All right, keep on doing what you're doing. You can't stoop to their level, and you will be rewarded. Yeah. For hard work. Hard work always pays off, no doubt about it. And you never know who else is why. It doesn't say what kind of job she's in, but we recently hired a kid who came in asking for a job.

He was in the same spot. He was just, he was like, man, I'm sick at his place, and I feel like I'm the only one working. And I knew who he was because boy, you used to make a real good pizza back in the day. And so I've seen him working hard. And I was like, when he came in, it was like, I kind of want a job. I was like, yep, what are they paying you there? Because I'll get it higher because I've seen you work. So keep doing what you're doing for sure.

this day and age i heard a guy the other day said it's hard to even find bad help these days so if you start looking you might be surprised what you can find pretty quick yeah i yeah i'd same thing keep keep doing what you're doing just because don't stoop to their level like is what it is and as an employer and as an overseer of a company we we know who's working hard and who ain't we we know you know that's just part of it. And those that do get rewarded. It may take longer than you desire to get to reap said reward. Yeah.

But you will be rewarded and just keep doing your thing. But, you know, that's kind of like what the, I mean, it kind of goes back to that deal. And I guess it's Romans. What should I do now keep on sinning just because of grace? By no means. I know means. Just keep working hard. I mean, just don't.

I heard that verse once or twice this week. Yeah, so I mean, it's the same old deal. Not saying that hard work and laziness and all that is a sin by any means, but I'm just trying to draw the correlation between, well, what should I do? Just do what they're doing? Or should I keep doing my thing? Persistence phase.

And, you know, you never know what, pay off. Everybody, you know, the overnight duck commander's success, what, 40 years. Yeah. That's what it was. And Phil worked really hard for a really long time and he loved it. Yeah. And then, you know, 2013 rolled around. And the reward was, I'm assuming, pretty good.

And this was kind of our verse for the weekend, 2 Corinthians 12-9, but he said to me,

my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ power may rest on me. Woo! I'm getting fired up again. You know, we all have weaknesses, and you got to share them with your brothers, and you got to be able to say, I need help when you need help. And when you do that kind of thing, I promise you, you will see the power of Jesus come
