directory and like quarantine really motivated you to fucking just it did flip yeah it definitely I mean I always pump out a lot of music but quarantine and the pandemic was just like man you know it's just scary so you just you just work how many videos did you drop with this album this is like a new rollout they gave me the count the other day and i forgot it was like seven or nine god i thought it was like 13 for sure yeah definitely high but i mean you pretty much we've definitely dropped over 20 this year 20 something this year yeah i mean it's been a crazy year for content you ever felt like you had to sneeze and you're just like i wish that motherfucker would hurry up yes it's been

like the same sound, same lyrics, same, always weird about trying to make sure that the sound is different. Yeah, absolutely. Sometimes the lyrics are different, but sometimes the content stays in the same realm. But that's also just who I am as a human, you know? Yeah.

I know I was in Vegas. I was so mad. What? I was like, yeah. And we just all started like brains. I just had two simple ideas. I was like,

we need to break something and we need to catch roses on fire. That's all I had. And next thing you know, how deaf calls and he finds a bunch of TVs and Don and me go find barrels to burn yeah get roses and we were like we should get some drums and perhaps no one just started turning up how fast could we come up with shit to catch on fire but what an iconic video that day what an iconic shot though that you guys got of you with the roses burning like that was just like dude i told don that's timeless probably by default he's got my favorite picture maybe ever

absolutely just i mean we have a painting of it in our fucking house now like it that image is burned in other people's minds that's how iconic it is you know it's just one of those things that just happens by accident that literally just catches it's i told somebody the other day that i really believe the picture sold the video oh for sure absolutely in hindsight the mistake we might have made even was the uh thumbnail on the video is me tossing a single rose into a barrel and we should have just used that picture of me holding them fucking dozen roses you can always change it yeah you can always change the thumbnail um let's talk about loneliness with ritz and then let's talk about the video too

It was just like, it was trying to convey the message that no matter where you're at in your life, you feel like you're alone. There's always some dickhead who has to mistranslate something. thing because i would have fucking probably been toothless by now. We're not getting younger either. I know. He always tells me that. He's like, bitch, how wild are you going to be when you're fucking 84? Like, come on. Calm the fuck down. Yeah, Viking Barbie and Kata.

Let's move on to them really quick. We are you, us. The whole team is pretty much helping them get their first album out. Yeah, we're producing music on Viking Barbie and Kata. It's incredible. Super excited for you guys to hear this shit. Dude, I just hope that, like, I'm going to tell this part of the story until I'm blue in the face with everybody who will listen,

but it was the music, but it had nothing to do with the Internet presence. Oh, absolutely not. It had more to do with the personal story when I got to know him. Because you hit me about Barbie a while ago. A year ago. You should check this out. And I was like, yeah, whatever. And I never really did because I knew the online thing.

And I was like, I don't know if that's even something that's. Can correlate together. Yeah, I don't know how that would work. You know what I mean? And then when you started telling me, like, no, man, they've got like a crazy story. And I was like, really? And then you told me a piece of their story. And then I got to telling me like, no, man, they've got like a crazy story. And I was like, really? And then you told me a piece of their story. And then I got to sit down with the girls.

And you're talking about, you know, two full blown drug addicts. Heroin addicts. Like real deal drug addicts. Kata still has track marks in her. She's only been sober almost a year. Yeah. I mean, you're talking about real deal drug addicts. Right.

And it's like I write music so based on people who go through any kind of struggle that i was like damn that's crazy and then overcoming that and then becoming who they are you know what i mean it's like conquering the lane that viking barbie has and building the presence and the machine that she's built over there and the way she creates content it's just like man i was impressed by that but way more impressed by it knowing that you fucking literally was shoving needles in your arm and yeah hair when like and then i think it was you or her that showed me her before and after picture like you like her fucking jail picture yeah and then her her picture i was like two totally different

bitches it's crazy you know what i'm saying i'm like today is her actually five year sobriety mark oh dope i need to hit her up. Yeah. But it's like, you know, you look at shit like that and go, damn, that's fucking almost weird. Yeah. And I just hope that people that listen to Jelly Rolls music don't look at these two girls and go. Judge them. What the fuck does that got to do? And it's like, because they have people, our kind of people have so much more in common with them. Oh, absolutely.

Than they don't. Yeah, than they think they do. You know what I mean? So it's like, that's the message I want to get out about the girls. It's like, it was the total opposite. Don't judge a book by its cover. Read the book before you judge. Period.

Yeah. Listen, and they're also fucking like amazing writers. Yeah, they're great. No, the music's great. Great for where they are right right and it's only going to get better right which is why when we sat down with them i was like i want to do it but i don't want to do an album i want to like really work like let's commit to the doing this for a couple years and seeing you let's grow yeah because it's like

knowing that i don't i don't want to put a date on it because you know barbie's barbie will be like no but like you know i'm thinking i don't know it's been a year or two that she's even been fucking with music. Yeah. At all. Yeah. You know, from a girl who literally had no musicality in her 26 months ago. Yeah, picked up a microphone and started rapping. To the kind of music she's doing right now.

And singing. And singing. Yeah, it's like, you know, I think that's a testament just as to more of their personality. And that's the story I want to get out. You know, and I think once that story. Kata, too. Her voice is phenomenal.

Yeah, and in essence- She gives Christina Aguilera a run for her money. Yeah, Kata's one of the most talented people I've ever worked with as far as like just raw. Yeah. Yeah, it's almost so raw. She would cry hearing you say that. Yeah, no, it's insane.

It's almost so raw that you gotta, it's almost hard to even caps, put it in a capsule. She's like a beautiful wild horse that runs on the beach. Yeah, yeah. And it's like, you don't know if you should contain it or fucking ride it. Just let that motherfucker run. Right, exactly. Yeah, just let that motherfucker go.

You know what I'm saying? Exactly. She's just got a raw talent. Yeah. They've got a cool thing. Yeah. And I like the way they work with each other. Yeah.

And to what I'm sure she's writing now, it just continues to get more impressive to me. Like, you know, a lot of people, once again, the internet was like, this must have been a favor for Travis. Man, Travis did not ask. I called Travis and said, hey man, I've got a record. Man, you talked about it. I think I should get Mackenzie on this record.

Yeah. And I knew it needed a female voice. I didn't like the way my voice sounded on the hook. You know, it just didn't sound right to me. And I was like, yo, man, let's get McKenzie on this record. You know, and plus I know that her dealing with the mental health stuff and her being a big mental health advocate, that she would probably feel the record.

You know what I mean? And it's like, dude, what people don't get about mackenzie is like i just said about barbie and kata well kate has been doing a lot longer but like with barbie is like mackenzie is young as fuck oh baby baby like like i don't think she's old enough to drink or she might have just she might have just turned 21 or yeah she's young yeah she's young young you know what i mean so it's like dude The internet can be so fucking cool. I can only imagine. What she's going to be at 28. 31.

Yeah. 10 years from now. Exactly. I was thinking like, give her a decade. Yeah. And just fucking. You know what I'm saying? And it's also growing up in strange music.

You know, it's got to be hard trying to find your place in that world. Oh, yeah. For sure. So just let me know when you're ready. of course he died like a week before so I called Travis and said Travis man I can't come you know I just I feel there's a side of me that feels like I should go to honor it for him but you know his funeral was like Tuesday it was the week of your birthday I was like I just I don't feel right coming up there but I really still want my daughter to go I'm gonna send my niece with her. And Cheyenne, and I've got an extra ticket left over too, you know, could you just make sure they're okay? And Travis was like, absolutely.

We'll do one better. We'll pick them up from the hotel room and take them ourselves. So Travis and Mackenzie took Bailey and Kayla to the football game, sat, you know, X amount of rows over from them. They met between each quarter, met at the halftime and left together. You know what I mean? And that was just so cool.

That means so much to us because that was such a rough time. Such a rough time. And Bailey didn't even know about the chisel situation. So it helped get her out of the house so we could handle business. So we were just like, you know, and it was just cool of that. I just think that,

you know, and Bailey just sings McKenzie's praise. Yeah. it's like a bigger sister yeah yeah she's so sweet yeah i hope that would fire bailey up too yeah we're gonna get mackenzie on the podcast too soon we'll get mackenzie on the podcast soon so people can get to know her story too because i think that's really important yeah the other side of the story yeah the internet only knows you know right her dad's a very successful right get her side where she you know she's a huge advocate for bipolar awareness and just you know she's gone through some shit yeah yeah so we'll get her on here to talk um let's talk about still my hero
