Starting point is 00:00:00 I don't care what anybody says. It doesn't matter what time of year it is. I never get tired of online shopping, especially during the holidays. Here's the thing, it's kind of gross out. Even those of us that embrace the chilly weather need something to break up long winter nights. Something I love to do is treat myself to a little something,

I took them on tour, I brought them home, and they're still like brand new. I'm pretty much obsessed with this brand, but there is something else that everyone needs in their closet. In my opinion, Quince's iconic Mongolian cashmere sweaters, which start at $50. Or if you want to really up the lux factor, check out their Italian leather leather handbags washable silk skirts and european linen sheet sets whatever you're looking for all quince items are priced 50 to 80 percent less than similar

Fox so get up there and throw throw throw them dollars dude that is fucking iconic what's up you sexy motherfuckers welcome to another episode of dumb blonde today we have one of the most original comedians in my opinion on the podcast and i'm so honored how's everyone doing and i'm so honored to have him here dane the great aka southern dad what's up baby what is up what is up thank you so much for having me dude you uh you it was almost hard getting you here it was uh party like a rock star it was me you could blame me i was like i'm sorry were you partying like a rock star last night? Was Nashville just tearing you up? Always.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Man, every time I come to Nashville, it's just like, I'm waking up at 3 in the evening. You know, usually I'm 6 a.m. The wife is over here sitting down and she's like, ah, no. I'm 6 a.m. and I'm doing breakfast. You're doing Southern Dad shit. Yeah, right. Yeah. So where do you guys live?
Starting point is 00:04:07 Where are you from? Louisiana. Oh, so you are from Louisiana. I'm from, you know, born and bred. Born on a bayou. I'm right on a bayou, right. Right on the side of the ditch. That's where I was born.
Starting point is 00:04:19 So you're from Louisiana. You're born in just pretty much just, have you ever left there? Have you ever lived anywhere else? No, Louisiana. All my life. I was born in just pretty much just have you ever left there have you ever lived anywhere else no Louisiana um all my life I was born in Covington um I started doing my TikTok stuff in Ponchatoula that's between New Orleans and uh New Orleans how is the proper way because I always say New Orleans because I'm from Vegas and we're on the west coast so we have hard you know R's and fucking pronounce words how is it really pronounced a lot of people call it like Nola you know a lot of we got a different kind of slang like especially in the city like yeah baby how you doing ah okay yeah what's up big daddy you know like that's how I don't know I feel like in Louisiana it's just
Starting point is 00:05:03 even the white people have a little soul to them. Oh, yeah, for sure. I follow this one chick on TikTok and she cooks all the time, like like Cajun food and all that stuff. And I love the way she talks. Like, it's just it's different. And I didn't want to be that kind of like I don't want to be that Louisiana creator where they're always, you know, with the. Yeah, right down the bayou kind. I'm like, man, I want to do something different you know where like
Starting point is 00:05:25 i want that trailer trash vibe you know because that's what i grew up in you know the hood so you were raised in a trailer i was raised in the projects you know but you know every you know we had to go to the some some trailer parks do you think that's where your personality came from yeah big time growing up rough tell me a little bit about your childhood uh i would grow up i would make fun of the the crackheads that would come to my mom's house and stuff like that like mom ain't a mic like this hey babe look i need two i just need two 20s that's all i need can you call your boy up right now you know that's um i think you know when people come from humble beginnings it makes for amazing humans you know like i fucking struggled whenever i was a kid too and grew up in a really rough part of town in vegas and you know here we are now so it's like that just gives you character so you're not from
Starting point is 00:06:13 nashville for a wife you know seven seven seven yeah um okay so growing up you had a rough childhood your mom you know was into drugs where was your dad my dad wasn't um he wasn't really in my life um he was doing his own thing you know yeah but was he like in and out or just you never really knew him i never really known him gotcha that's all right though so i mean i met him when i was 15 how'd that go my mom went to prison i met him i saved with him uh he put me through high school and stuff and like he really like you know i came from like the hood to to to you know proper living and you know so dad wasn't in the hood no dad wait no that was it was just just complete
Starting point is 00:07:14 opposite they hated each other you know when they hit yeah and then hurricane katrina happened and that was a big deal like that wiped out louisiana. But he recently passed away February. That's so amazing that you got to rekindle that with your dad, though. Yeah. That always feels like a part of your soul, you know, that you didn't know that you were missing until it happens. And it sucks whenever you have to go through. Can I cuss on here?
Starting point is 00:07:40 It sucks whenever you have to go through shit. Because, I mean, me and my wife, we just had some problems. I lost my dad in February, and I still got to be like, hey, man, what you doing? Yeah. You know, and then still be the funny guy. Right. You know?
Starting point is 00:07:55 Yeah, because that's your persona online and stuff like that. That's it. It's funny that you say something about you and your wife going through something. If you guys don't want to talk about it, it's fine, but I definitely wanted to bring it up. I think I saw a post that said something about Dane was cheating or something like that. And everybody's like, this is a joke.
Starting point is 00:08:12 And I was like, uh-uh, that is a woman scorn, baby. I've been there. Are we allowed to talk about this? Yeah. You wanna come on here? I mean, I don't wanna, do you wanna talk? I love that. Listen, Jay and I went, Jay had an affair behind back, and we've talked about it to the world.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I mean, we can. I got lost a little bit in the sauce. I suffer from anxiety and depression a lot, trust me. Doing this podcast has become therapeutic for me. The first couple seasons, I would sit here and have panic attacks while I had guests on because it's just when you battle something like that I've had an addiction to Xanax my all the way up until I was about 36 and it's hard man when you do you battle anxiety too I do but um I try not to take the Xanax as much but um I have like panic attack medicine yeah or like stuff coming up yeah if I have to go somewhere I'll know. Or like stuff coming up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:05 I have to go to learn on notes and call someone. Yeah. Do you want to go into talking about that? You can come on. All right. So Dan's wife is here. Yeah, come on. What was your name again?
Starting point is 00:09:17 I'm Freddie. Chastity. Chastity's here. Can we just call her Chastity the Great? Chast. Chast, baby. I love it. How long have you guys been together?
Starting point is 00:09:27 Five years. Oh oh i love that you're gonna have to pull that forward if you're gonna sit back yep and then just kind of like you like almost want to like have it on your lips we know you can do it baby we got faith in you and asking her basically like how it is i mean because i know it's got to be tough you know i went from working a nine to five and then all of a sudden we go into walmart they're like dude dang i love you can we take a picture i mean i know that had to be tough On you or So let's Okay well then Let's rewind it a little bit
Starting point is 00:10:07 So okay You graduated from high school Dad got you through high school Right Were you always doing comedy Or were you always The funny guy Always the funny
Starting point is 00:10:15 I was the kind of guy That was just like Like all my friends Would be like That's why I fell in love With him because he was funny That's what I fell in love With Jay for too
Starting point is 00:10:22 Cause he's just so That personality dude Yep Personality over fucking anything yeah always yeah so you're always the funny guy and then what happened after high school did you go to college like okay uh in the south that's what you do after high school you get your twicken osha you go work in the refineries and and that's it that's how and I had two kids with my with my high school sweetheart I guess you could say how many kids do you have I got three kids you got three okay and then uh I have someone else oh so what did you meet her right after like when did you guys meet when was that he was actually going through his split with her okay we
Starting point is 00:11:04 met we got got and we were friends like we wouldn't yeah we were friends for a while we wouldn't do nothing like no no intercourse intercourse who says that he wasn't he wasn't pounding the pussy out well i mean you know i don't want to like like fully say it but no we didn't we didn't do it yeah but that's how it happens j Jay and I were friends before we, anything, you know, it's like you have to have that friendship in order to have that bond.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I really, truly believe if you don't have a friendship in a relationship, it's never going to work. Never, ever. Okay. So you guys got together and you guys, what you started having,
Starting point is 00:11:41 you guys have a baby together. He had to Bella. Yeah. I got Bella Trenton. Bella was Bella and Trenton. Yeah, I got Bella, Trenton, and... Bella was four, and Trenton was two at the time. Okay. And then we were together for about eight months, and I found out I was pregnant. Aww.
Starting point is 00:11:55 You got straight to work, baby. Straight to work. Straight to work. Pounding it. I'm sorry. I love it. So now they are eight, six, and three. Gotcha. Aww. Today's her birthday, by the way. Aww. Your birthday? I'm sorry I love it So they're Now they are Eight Six And three Gotcha Aww
Starting point is 00:12:06 Today's her birthday By the way Aww Your birthday Happy birthday I'm so sorry you're here It's okay Oh my gosh
Starting point is 00:12:13 I feel so bad Aww She's spending her birthday Doing a fucking podcast No she She low key is a It's a big fan of yours Aww I love that
Starting point is 00:12:21 Yeah Well thank you for making him come here I really appreciate that Yeah I was like making him come here i really appreciate it i know it sucks i know i'm sorry no you're fine you're fine you were the biggest diva out of everybody this run it was awesome yeah no it was great and i deal with it i usually i'm not usually the diva i'm usually like i have to bust your balls oh i know i know um so when did tiktok come about because you are fucking huge on that platform um do you want me to tell them i'll tell them i mean i started basically like doing videos and it sucks whenever you have a you know your your wife is like is he doing another tiktok
Starting point is 00:13:00 here we go well was southern dad on any other platforms or strictly for tiktok he started with facebook and he just started doing like these random videos and tried to build that up okay and he right and he wasn't it wasn't doing good and he was like really discouraged and then facebook was dead for a while now it's fucking cracking again yeah yeah so then i remember he was at work one day and he was like i posted this video on tiktok last night and it's already at whatever it was uh 13k oh it was like 48k and i'm thinking like yeah i reposted the same the same video and it got to like 3.2 million but the video was when you and a cousin smoked
Starting point is 00:13:45 before eating thanksgiving dinner i saw that one okay fucking funny but um and then i just kind of like i was like man maybe i can be a creator and i just did it every day every day every day and then i studied the algorithm to a t i would say up all night long like now it's just like i do my times i like i'll keep everything at usually 30 seconds. What my goal is is I want to grab your attention real quick. I want to keep you there for 25 seconds, and that's it. Yeah. And I don't want nothing from you.
Starting point is 00:14:16 I'm not trying to sell you shit. Yeah. I just want you to laugh. That's all I want. So I think in September, that's kind of when you September of 20. Yeah. And then 2020 September 2020 was when the tick tock first start taking off. And in December of 2020, I think you had a million followers.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Yeah. And then in February of 2021, you were suspended from the creator fund. Definitely. Can we talk about what a fucking scam that shit is yes and and and let me tell you that's it that's right there right there is where my whole family was just like yeah okay so you tried and i did and i was like no fuck that like i'm gonna go go go Everybody goes through that with the creator fund. It was a bubble buster for me. I'm like, oh, gosh, this is like you have two jobs.
Starting point is 00:15:10 You're going to continue to do this, even though they're not going to pay you anything. But he did. He did. When's your birthday, Dane? February 11th. Oh, you're an Aquarius. I'm an Aquarius. Me too.
Starting point is 00:15:19 I'm an Aquarius. You are? Yeah. That's why you studied the algorithm. I'm the same way. I'm like, so like, I want to know numbers. I want want it down to because it would suck because you'd make a like i make you know an actual skit and then you look at you know tyler on there doing his dance fucking yeah i get millions of views and i'm over there with fucking 20 000 yeah no i'm the same way
Starting point is 00:15:39 i study everybody's numbers i'm like obsessed with it like rain man and shit it's crazy you know it pissed me off no i just like put the tiktok back in my head I'm like obsessed with it like Rain Man and shit. It's crazy. Yeah, you know, it pissed me off. No, I get it. So I just like put the TikTok back in my head. I was like, I ain't doing this. She was like, fuck this. After the money went away, you were like, mm-mm. We just kept doing it though.
Starting point is 00:15:52 And then in July of 2021, TikTok sent an email. No, I actually mailed. A handwritten letter. A handwritten letter to TikTok saying, hey, look, this is bullshit. So then they sent an email. Wait, I'm very curious to know what did this letter say? Because I might need to write. Look, I wrote it up.
Starting point is 00:16:13 We sent it. And then the next day we got the email. There's no way it got to TikTok. I'm so glad she's here. She keeps you grounded, right? I had like a feather with the ink. Just blotting. Just some bullshit.
Starting point is 00:16:27 With your fucking Declaration of Independence signature. So then they said in that email, we have decided to make your Creator Fund ban only a six month ban instead of forever. So you'll get it back in August. Don't you feel like the Creator Fund fucks with your views? Yes.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Because that's what it is to me. He almost had two million. Yeah. So from February, when they cut it off, to July, August, he almost had a million, another million in that time.
Starting point is 00:16:56 At it. Right. I told Jay to take the creator fund off. If you're on the creator fund, take it off. I'm going to tell you why. Absolutely. Well, if that's the case,
Starting point is 00:17:05 then you could post a video that's went viral multiple times and get paid for that you know what i mean yeah so yeah take it off what for me i sell my engagement right you know i mean to uh to brands and stuff i'll say you know you want me to post whatever whatever about your brand okay well i mean i can do that look at my look at my engagement look at every video i post you know, you want me to post whatever about your brand? Okay, well, I mean, I can do that. Look at my engagement. Look at every video I post, you know? Right. And then if that creator fund, it really, it'll take your views down, I guess. Totally.
Starting point is 00:17:35 And, well, they fucking kept trying to ban me. Anytime my creator fund is on, they fucking try to take my whole account. So I was like, turn this shit off. Yeah, you was getting violations that work left and even if you do get it like appealed and they say yeah it's okay it still counts towards your violation yeah it's fucked up tiktok is a fucked up tricky little beast man i mean imagine i would you know what i was thinking this is how my brain works okay so hear me out i'm thinking can you imagine like the creator who's out there trying their best and they have some shit going on in here and then tiktok's like hey it's all right we're gonna have to go ahead
Starting point is 00:18:12 and shut your shit down yeah with no warning yeah just fucking takes your shit yeah and imagine that person just goes and jumps off a cliff yeah I don't want to say I don't want to say we don't condone yeah but no absolutely yeah no but it's real like and a lot of people this is their fucking livelihood they're feeding their families such as you guys were doing you know they're fucking building you literally are at the mercy of this network because you build your entire fucking brand on this network and they can take it from you in the blink of an eye they banned my account two weeks ago they said i was underage i'm like are you fucking
Starting point is 00:18:45 kidding like thanks for the compliment but no because you can't get there's no person to get in contact with at all that's why like we're kind of that platform's just used to show the followers the engagement like not so much we're not depending on it for right financial or yeah they ban it you can't it's fucking so unstable so how did southern dad come about southern dad basically i got the shirt from goodwill oh i'm sorry i got some of the clothes from goodwill i got like a fat suit from party city and i just whipped them together that is not my dad my dad is not the shirt is actually the shirts that he uses because they're really yeah that's true vintage.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I didn't know that you were like a cute dude. I always thought you were the old. I didn't know that. I didn't know you were a decent looking Dane. I thought you were a fatty to shit. I just thought you were this fucking, you know, big, funny old guy. Until I fucking knew you were coming on the podcast and I had to do some research. And I was like, oh, OK. So it's a whole shtick like trailer trash Tammy. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Yeah. Which is my, which is, we could touch on a base on that. That's my, yeah, she's my inspirer. Like I, um, I inspired like, have you ever talked to Chelsea? Yeah. I met her in person and I got to say that to her. I said, Hey said hey look you cannot watch my video and not you know i used to watch you in high school oh yeah no she's amazing like she is such a dude i love her as my sister for life like y'all got a cigarette yeah well fuck you it's this number yeah yeah no she's great so southern dad you went to goodwill you just one day were like you know what i want to be a fat southern dad i just wanted to try it out and i just kept doing it a lot of ideas with that yeah like he would always think southern dad was mean in the beginning southern you know and i was just like nah and then you know i honed in on let's be family friendly.
Starting point is 00:20:45 You know, let's be. And you're smart because I should have done that, but I could never. We have a huge audience. Well, now you got people from like kids, old people. Yes. Everybody. I watched some of your Southern dads. I love them.
Starting point is 00:21:01 You know, and then you got the five-year-old. Why do you sound like the guy, we want some popsicles. Yeah, I want some popsicles. We want some of the Southern Batch. The dude on The Simpsons, you know who I'm talking about, who tries to lure Chris in the basement? Yeah. That's exactly what he sounds like.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Yeah, I mean, that's what I wanted, you know, and now you got these, you know, because no one wants to be like, hey, look, we want you to promote our brand, you know. Yeah, show your titties. Yeah. No, I know. Trust me. I have all the brands that reach out to me are like sex toy companies and fucking anything that has to do with like
Starting point is 00:21:31 that part adult industry all love me but fucking any anything like family brand they're like no no we can't yeah no i've had people say they can't come on the podcast because it's too explicit so you were very yeah you were very smart to go the family route though so southern dad you put on this outfit and it just came to life it just came yeah and like it just uh every day i mean you gotta think about the first time because i don't i don't i don't know um same fat suit he still used the same one same Same one. Did you bring it today? It stinks. It's stinky. I didn't bring it, but I brought some other little stuff. But it is stink. It's like a man musk.
Starting point is 00:22:10 It's not a stink. I don't stink. It's literally like, it's like a pillow, right? It's not a pillow. But it looks like a pillow right here. And then it has like thing that like comes up over your neck. I like the smell things. Then it goes around right here.
Starting point is 00:22:22 So let's talk about the notoriety that you've received now because of tiktok and like is it hard for you guys to like go out on like dates or and without people turning into a meet and greet well let's see in august right when they gave the creator phone back by the end of that month so like the 25th he quit his job like his real job yeah and so creator fun was doing okay you were back in it for a while like it was enough for us to live you know it was a little bit more than he was making so i was like okay it was still scary plus the brand the brand deals and then by january um that's when you start doing Facebook. And that was when you were able to turn off TikTok creator fund.
Starting point is 00:23:10 No, she's talking about notoriety. Like, how is it whenever... I know, I was kind of like showing how you kind of went up the ladder and when that stuff happened. Yeah, once you go viral on Facebook too, man, it's a whole nother... There's a whole nother set of fucking people on Facebook. Yo, yeah, yes.
Starting point is 00:23:23 It's insane. I grew my Facebook from 74... What was it? 74 000 last november to almost 750 000 today like it's crazy over there right now facebook's his main platform now but i believe it yeah we really can't go anywhere no i don't go out with my husband it's cool whenever you get noticed isn't it and he gets upset with me because i feel like it's aggravating but i noticed isn't it and he gets upset with me because i feel like it's aggravating but i'm like you're sitting here putting food in your mouth and no ain't nobody did that to me yet i've seen uh me and my boy john somebody did it yesterday i love this dynamic you don't know we were eating and the guy came up
Starting point is 00:24:01 i don't remember that listen nashville's been good to dane he well if you can't remember what's going on you're having a great time let me tell you what happened so um when i started banging them out in nashville it was uh i did i was like you know the sisters using news for your complexion so you know i did that one the one you sang i didn't well i didn't sing it i was singing and then clay walker messaged on there was like you know hope you enjoy nashville it's my first time ever being in nashville sure enough the next day i ended up at his house and we did that and then so that started like like whenever you go to a different area and and like you're dropping like them bangers it hits that that spot yeah you know so i guess that was
Starting point is 00:24:47 crazy i was telling dana all the way there i was like are you sure this isn't like somebody's gonna try to like kidnap like are we really going to clay walker and sure enough clay walker comes out and you know what if it's a real moment though oh yeah we're on the way there and me and dana are listening to the songs i'm like all right learn it hurry up learn it the second one was what uh co with me and co we tight oh we love co and then luke i didn't meet luke luke uh luke bryan or luke combs oh luke combs okay gotcha luke combs i figured out that he was following me and then i in Louisiana, and I met him. I'm like, little man, I'd love to link up with you, meet you. He left us some tickets at Will Call for the show.
Starting point is 00:25:33 And then at the end of the show, somebody's like, hey, listen, Luke wants you backstage if you guys want to hop this fence. Come on. I'm like, yes, please. Yes, we do. That's pretty cool you know coming from nothing you know and and like just just doing what i love you know it changed my life you know it really it's crazy how people fall in love with you right like it's just nuts that just for just from seeing you on a
Starting point is 00:25:58 screen these people just become obsessed some people you know being that i'm a you know tiktoker i hate saying it like that but you know some people automatically think like like oh yeah we got it i could say and do whatever you know i've had people like hey man and in like the gas station or like you know and i'm like oh god hey you know like i don't i don't know. I just, I like attention. I just don't like it like that. Right, right, right. No, I'm the same way. I like controlled attention.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Like, when I know what vibes is coming in and stuff like that. But to answer your question, I don't ever think of it as, like, aggravating because I love that my husband touches so many people, you know? But at the same time, I get almost sad sometimes because I'm like, when do I get him? You know, like when do I get him alone? So I can totally understand what you're saying, because I will not. I refuse for the past year and a half. I've told Jay, I will not go out with you in public unless it's big events, because
Starting point is 00:26:56 if we even try to go have like a private dinner, it's literally a meet and greet all night long. He's taking pictures. I'm having to take pictures of him with other people, you know i'm just like bro this is not quality time how do you guys make up for that lack of quality time well we're actually working on it good yeah we actually i guess we'll just be vulnerable right now we actually were on the road to divorce like i've signed it it's ready it was paid for so you guys that that and this is the dark side of popularity is, like, you know, sometimes shit has to fall apart so that it can come back together even stronger.
Starting point is 00:27:33 The same thing happened with Jay and I. So, what happened with you guys? I just, um, I don't know. It just come so, it came so fast. And, like, I pushed my wife. It came so fast and like I pushed my wife, I pushed my kids out because my head was so like, I gotta, I gotta get it. I want more. I want more.
Starting point is 00:27:52 I want more. That stems from your childhood. Right. You know, like I want, I want, I want to be able to be like, hey baby, look, I got a hundred thousand dollar check. Hey baby, I got, you know, and, and, um, I got lost, you know, that shit'll do it to you but i'm getting back right you know we're getting back right and we're working things out i mean you guys i'm not trying to get emotional now i just had some who's cutting onions and i guess no i think it's very sweet that shows that you feel really bad about it and that you feel i mean i do you know it's very sweet. That shows that you feel really bad about it and that you feel guilty. I mean, I do. You know, it's just like, imagine, I can imagine being in her shoes, you know, we's working a nine to five, all of a sudden we go, you know, boom.
Starting point is 00:28:33 I know it. And for me, the hardest part is I work, I'm a teacher, so I just have a normal job. You're a hot teacher. So, I mean, when he goes to Nashville or whatever wherever he's going and even though it's work it's partying and it's fun you know and i'm just at home working on my whole job taking care of our kids sometimes for weeks at a time and so it's just like wish i could be there so that would cause fights and stuff but and i yeah i'm gonna tell you right now, there was times where I didn't want to bring her. Because I'm like, man, she's just going to be sitting there.
Starting point is 00:29:09 But I think we just started kind of growing apart. We weren't friends. We weren't friends. We weren't riding in the same vehicle. You always have to. And all relationships go through that, especially if you're going to be together for a long ass time. Jay and I are going on seven years.
Starting point is 00:29:22 There comes a point in your relationship where sometimes you look at that person and you're like who are you and you have to remember why you guys fell in love and you have to remember that you're friends above anything dude and once you guys lock that in again it'll the passion and everything will come back oh that passion's back oh baby he's like it never left hey that passion's always been there He's like, it never left. Hey, that passion's always been there. I love that you're so forgiving of him, though,
Starting point is 00:29:51 because a lot of women, you know, aren't forgiving. I've been very forgiving for five years. But I do understand that any... Today. Oh, yeah, that's right. Shit, fuck, she told me that. God, I'm worse. When's your birthday?
Starting point is 00:30:05 I'm listening to everything you're saying. I'm no better than a man a man let me tell you i'm just looking at how hot she is i'm a cancer so cancer okay cancer and yeah i can see it though you're very sultry all cancer women have that like sultriness to them yeah but that's awesome i just feel like any long marriage has been through shit absolutely and it's taken a lot of forgiveness a lot of forgetting and moving on from it if you want to make it last not saying that that's okay just saying that i mean one day you might have to forgive me for something and i'm not saying i hope not i might run off and suck a dick on you. I'm just saying that. How many dicks did you have to do? No, no, but yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:50 So if there's a couple at home listening to this and they're going through problems too right now, what would be some advice that you guys would both give them? Take some time for yourself, you know. I don't know it depends on your kids like my my youngest jordan sleeps in the middle of me and her i think that and i don't know if this helped you but like we got him out push jordan in his own bed get jordan in his own damn bed closer yeah like get closer um and And then we started saying thank you to each other.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Hey, thank you for folding my clothes. Hey, thank you for doing the pool. You know, when we decided to split, we just had got this big, beautiful house. I mean, a pool. I come from the hood. I ain't never had a pool in my life. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:31:44 And just walked away from it, I guess. the hood we don't i ain't never had a pool in my life yeah you know so and and and um just walked away from it i guess all but not so but we're doing better i guess my advice would be just like communication even if it's something that you don't necessarily want to talk about or if something is bothering your partner then you have to listen absolutely and i think we kind of got the tables turned on that this time because before we split it was me i was always the one going to him saying like hey this is bothering me can we talk about this and he'll be like all you want to do is fight but then this time it was him wanting to talk to me and i'm just like i don't want to talk about this i'm not fighting right now how
Starting point is 00:32:19 many dicks was it but um i think we're getting better with that too and he can really understand that he was doing that to me and i can pick up on now oh gosh now i'm doing what i hated you doing to me so that's called growth yeah like i'm really proud of you guys both of us being able to see that you know he did it i did it yeah that you're both feels on both sides. Now he knows how it felt on my side. I know how it felt on his side. Yeah. That's what I always tell everybody. Uh, you know, when I talk about the affair that Jay and I went through, um, is that I had to realize that it wasn't all him, you know, that I played my part in it too. And I was a fucking asshole and I was very hard to love and came in with a shit ton of baggage and he had to heal a heart
Starting point is 00:33:04 that he didn't break. And I had to heal a heart that he didn't break and I had to heal a heart that that I didn't break you know so it's like that's just the beauty of relationships and I'm really proud of you guys my um I'm sorry to cut you out but basically my thing is what you just said is like you know you had to say like okay hey I wasn't asking that's hard people can't do that people are not like they just can't sit back and say man you know what maybe i was being a dick or two you know what i'm saying yeah i guess a lot of things like uh you know my my love language is uh words of affirmation right very simple very easy hey that was thank you or i'm proud of you or you know what i mean yeah and i guess chas you know at the time you know we grew apart it was uh i didn't get that you know well i might have been
Starting point is 00:33:53 being an ass but if i was being an ass it's because i didn't feel a certain way from you i was like empty like it wasn't you guys were both you just get to that point in your relationship where a person could fucking chew and they piss you off oh it was getting there yeah it was getting there but that's just tons of resentment that's tons of not communicating and not getting out what you guys need to get out not feeling appreciated yeah i'm just thinking about a story where like we were driving and she's got the visor down and i'm driving like this and I'm just going oh my god that is so funny kicking it so then when we split I'm like in the car with somebody else I'm like um do you mind if I put this visor down to put my lipstick on yeah you know and then
Starting point is 00:34:42 that's another thing too is like another thing is is is whenever you meet different people you know you i don't take shit i'm like oh god here they go you know so i'm you know i'm glad we worked it out i'm glad you guys worked it out too because you guys are fucking cute together have you guys ever considered doing like couple stuff on tiktok together because you guys have a fucking hilarious rapport people would eat this shit up well and hold on it doesn't wait wait go look i don't and let me tell you why because i feel as if like i don't want to you didn't even know i had kids huh uh-uh i that's what i want yeah you know and i understand that because listen in my defense
Starting point is 00:35:25 and his defense and my defense they're both laughing what are they laughing about back there that's just hard to believe now because her that's the same thing he said before he cheated well can we not talk about the girl told me she had no idea that you were married or have had kids maybe if she would have known you were married and had kids i get that and do all right i get that i need to post more about okay i understand that well why don't you start your own page i have one i just don't really and she's not really into it like yeah you know i guess like i can't tell you how many times where i'm like chess check this video out and she's just like yeah okay so you know it's like she hurt she's not well she's a different some people yeah some people are creatives and some people you know are the backbone of the creatives but and what i was
Starting point is 00:36:19 gonna say in his defense and you know the defense about the relationship not being online. My husband and I are both very public people, and I literally have to go to war every day protecting him. And that's just a whole other battle that he probably doesn't want to deal with because every fucking day, I mean, at least fucking 500 people come for our relationship, you know. And that's a lot to deal with. Like, it drains you mentally, it drains you physically because you're just constantly protecting this person but i also understand on your hat on your side you also want to be seen every now and then too every now and then even if it's just like a story post or i don't want to be
Starting point is 00:36:54 in your skits yeah how did you get access to his tick tock whenever you posted that because i listen i don't even your doesn't even i can't believe i can't but i'm just sitting back going like in my brain i'm going how the hell did bonnie see that i know can you imagine the mother that followed me you know i don't see anything else but i saw that like it was crazy i actually hit mimi i was like what is going on and? And she's like, I don't know. Maybe it's a joke. I'm like, mm-mm. Went through some shit. No, I mean, it was one of those things.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Sorry about that. It's okay. Where it was like, I'm sleeping, and I wake up to, so what is this? And I was just like, okay, yeah, that's it. Got me. Well, I think it's amazing's it, got me, but. Well, I think it's,
Starting point is 00:37:47 I think it's amazing that you guys have forgiven each other, and you guys are here in Nashville, are you guys having a blast together here, spending some quality time together? Yes, we have had a lot of, this is my favorite place, the first time Dane came to Nashville,
Starting point is 00:37:59 actually, I, I brought him. It was, yeah, that's when I did the Clay Walker stuff too. And you didn't even want to come, remember? I didn't want to because I didn't, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Well, when you have anxiety, it's hard. It's like you don't want to just go to places because you don't know what's going to happen. He wanted to go hike or do something like that. So we did. We went to. Cooksville. Cooksville and hiked to a waterfall. I like that.
Starting point is 00:38:19 Yeah. I like doing that. I'm a hiker. I would never fucking even take you to be a hiker. I don't want to promote this. All right. We're not like hikers, like doing that. I'm a hiker. I would never fucking even take you to be a hiker. All right. We're not like hikers. Like, hike and boo.
Starting point is 00:38:28 I was like, what are you guys doing? Mount Everest? What are we doing here? No. Like, we wore like, what do we wear? Like, you know, like, crocs and shit. Okay, okay, okay. Which it was a good little hike.
Starting point is 00:38:40 So you guys are just going up hills. Yeah, we're just going up hills. We're like walking on rocks. We don't have the hammer hike. The stakes yeah yeah no yeah like we like easy hikes yeah like waterfalls and shit i gotcha no um hard level hiking yeah no no fucking uh expert level no yeah we do expert level hiking so today i wanted if you have time i wanted to shoot a couple tiktoks with you and i wanted to run them by you and see what you thought about it all right what's up so i want to teach southern dad how to be an instagram thought is that possible
Starting point is 00:39:18 i didn't bring the southern dad well what did you bring in like i got me a badass mullet okay we could do and i got like it's okay we could do any character whatever character it really doesn't matter right as long as as long as like the hook of the video is is you and me of course i told that to jay and i'm i want to tell you a story about this yeah my husband loves you by the way i love him yeah we did the uh the the one where it's like he's uh we're behind bayless listening to the cocaine song yes with co and i said look bro this is the the hook is me and you side by side we both and i'm like it's that that's the hook of it that's what's the the idea is to stop the finger yeah okay and shit i think that was the biggest tip it wasn't i don't it was pretty big
Starting point is 00:40:15 yeah i don't know the numbers but i do know my husband knows all the numbers i was just like and and i asked him this is where this is the story this is where i'm like jay look just tell i'm going to tell you exactly what we need to do just give it to me let me he's like oh yeah this is your and sure enough i i did it it came out good and he loved it and i love it well so the idea i have is we have some poses that are on my instagram page that i want to teach you how to do let's do it i'll do it as though I'll do it with this character. That's fine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Perfect. Whatever. And then the next, the other one that we wanted to do was even though you're not Southern dad was teach me how to cuss without cussing, you know, like how like people say like dab, nab it and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Like come up with like your own, like I want to learn how to cuss without cussing. Cause I need to be more laid. Like son of a bum. Yeah. And I'll just copy whatever you say yeah so we'll think about it but what is the next what does the next year have for dane are you doing stand up i don't know no i don't want to do stand up that's a lot i'm just so scared that i'm just going to go on stage and just say the... Get canceled. Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Well, you have to write it out. You have to write out what you're going to say. Yeah, you got to practice. I want to do acting. I think I'm a better actor more so than like, yeah, so talk to me about tech. You know, I don't want to do that. Right. I want to be like acting.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Yeah. I did stand up one time. Did you do stand up? I did. How was it? Oh my God. That's got to be so fucking nerve wracking. It was very, it was very, cause it was, it was, but it was my first time and it told
Starting point is 00:41:57 me bad. She's right. I love that though. Only your partner can tell you the truth there and just like wing it freestyle and i said no you have to have a little piece of paper and you just need to write down some topics that well you gotta practice your spiel beforehand what makes people laugh honestly too is dark humor and i'll be damn you know if i'm not going up there going like yeah so the i i'm like i'm so scared that i'm gonna lose the little bit of you know zest right so but yeah i'm down to do videos i do those always whenever i do my videos
Starting point is 00:42:36 it's always one take two i love it i'm the same way i what is it oh yeah yeah you used to be a fucking model that was in my google thing do you remember that thing i said yeah he models on the because when i read that i hit her and i go he used to be a fucking male model what is going on i was like what the hell that was somebody wrote that on i googled that uh and then someone wrote. I don't know why they did that. They might have thought you were some model. I read it and I asked you why it said that and you said no. Alright, now this is the truth. People come up with some crazy shit
Starting point is 00:43:16 on fucking Google. That's what it is. That's what it is. People, I guess, like... have access to... I guess if you took pictures, what you have, that's considered modeling they say you take
Starting point is 00:43:28 a lot of shirtless pics no I don't I swear do you want to see it alright they must be updated Google when we haven't read
Starting point is 00:43:34 listen I'm going to tell you right now hold on let me get my bifocals on hold on let me look at this hold on these are some of the notes
Starting point is 00:43:42 he frequently uploads shirtless pictures. He endorses various brands. He has been documenting many outdoor excursions and travel experiences. He hopes to inspire the next generation to follow their dreams and succeed. His TikTok has 2.1 million. What do you have now? 2.4.
Starting point is 00:44:02 2.4. This one also says that you like let's see he's nothing short of an inspiration to those that follow him and he has various tattoos on his body he also has a little weenie he's quite popular he's quite popular for his stylish looks it's so funny too because they never had any style before this he just like came up with this style out of nowhere i love that she just keeps you grounded i love it he'll tell me i'm embarrassed no no because like no this is great you guys is dynamic it's whenever because like you know how whenever you're around people and you're like yeah what's up man i'm dame and stuff like that just like shut up yeah you ain't shit bitch you ain't you know but you need that because when we
Starting point is 00:44:51 get to a certain status we have nothing but yes men around us my man mimi is my manager she will put me in my place no problem she'll be like bitch what the fuck is wrong with you right like what did you just say that for you know mimi or hayley too my makeup artist over there that's why i keep my team around you can't have a bunch of yes men around you you gotta have that one person who's like yeah no come back down to size buddy so no shirtless been there before all of this yeah i hate we're still normal that's what i learned from clay walker and luke combs is that these people who probably just like y'all can't even go out and have a normal dinner are just normal people oh yeah absolutely we sat and talked with them for hours
Starting point is 00:45:30 and they were no just sweetheart just normal yeah just like us so no backless shirts no no topless shirts no no topless shirt pictures sorry I recently did a video where it was like, it was 4th of July. We were shooting an AR and I'm like, yo, yo, film this. And I pulled, I took my... I saw your little butt. Yes, I was like, I'm going to protect this land. That was shirtless. Yeah, that was hilarious. You know, and some cheeks behind it.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Yeah, I say topless, shirtless. You did do the one that time with like, you were naked with just the cowboy hat. Yeah, that was... You posted that. No, I didn't. Yeah, that was, you posted that. No, I didn't. Yes, you did on your story.
Starting point is 00:46:09 No, I didn't. He's like, it wasn't me. That was our calendar. I want to do a calendar. Well, you should.
Starting point is 00:46:16 Dude, Chelsea fucking kills it with her fucking calendar, dude. she looks good. Doesn't she look fucking great, man?
Starting point is 00:46:21 Are those titties? Yes. I just want to wear them like your phone. She looks like a completely different person. Like a scarf. Just fucking. Yes, dude.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I remember the chip one. Yeah. Did you see that one? She did a video where she was eating at a, I don't know, like a restaurant. Oh, and she put her titties. And then she plopped. Boom. Boom.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Chips go everywhere. And I stitched it, you know, and so it goes like, boom, plop, titties, chips. And it goes to me and I'm like, damn. I'm like, damn, baby. Be careful with those pillows. When are you and Chelsea going to make some content together? Oh, God. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:59 She's moving to Nashville. Yeah. I heard. I don't know. You know, with people like that, you don't want to bother them. Chelsea lives for that shit, man. She loves to make people happy. Yes, she does.
Starting point is 00:47:10 And you know what? At the time of that chimp video, all Dane wanted was her to just comment and acknowledge him. Aw, did she? I'm sure she did. Eventually. Yeah. I told her. And it didn't have anything to do with the stitched video, did it?
Starting point is 00:47:23 Like when she first talked to you? Yeah. No. Whenever we met at the, gosh, what's the old, is it the old Opry or something? Mm-hmm. I think, I'm not sure anyway. Oh, no, it was Opry or whatever. I could be saying it wrong.
Starting point is 00:47:38 I'm sorry. Grand old Opry. There you go. And like we both turned to each other. Like we're talking, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And we both turned to each other. Like, we're talking, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and we both turned to each other, and she's like, bitch, get over here. And we both, you know, I gave her a big hug,
Starting point is 00:47:54 and I told her, I was like, look, I watched you in high school. I love you, okay? But that meant a lot. Yeah, you guys definitely need to do some stuff together. So if you don't want to do some stuff together so if you don't want to do stand-up you want to just get into acting don't you think that you could take southern dad on tour and like all your yes characters i want to do something like that um i want to also like mc uh tours i did the uh i was on the uh snoop and co why don't you talk to daddy i feel like he needs
Starting point is 00:48:28 someone that can push him to do that or knows what he needs to do to do that i wanted to do that managers or anything i just feel like we you need a new connect that's going to be like hey i think we can take this southern dad and all your other characters on tour. Do you have a manager? No. I do. I have one, but he is not like, he's just, uh, I mean, he does like, he's a tour manager, I guess you could say, but he doesn't do the kind of shit that like, you know. Right. It's touchy.
Starting point is 00:48:57 Sorry. He's pretty much like a, he gets, if it's a brand or something like he gets those deals. Okay. Gotcha. But I mean, even if it's just like a small like tour, like, and now you, funny that you said that because I did want to do something on the lines of like working with Jay. Cause like, I know everybody in the band. Yeah. And the boys would love you. You would fit right in with the tour crew.
Starting point is 00:49:20 We did a Colfax and he's like, man, the, the venue was horrible. horrible okay and i'm like jay i know the crowd that you could bring please don't you know he's like you don't have to do it and i sure enough i went on stage and i did it and it sounded pretty good but yeah um that's what i would like to do too like m MC shows. Something that shows your personality more than a scripted show, like a stand-up thing. Where you go out there.
Starting point is 00:49:50 What about a Netflix special? That, well, yeah, maybe that. Have you guys thought about shooting a sizzle reel and submitting it as a Netflix original or a Hulu original? I don't even know what that means, what you just said.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Yeah. I can't help him. That's what I'm saying. He needs someone who can act like those ideas. They know stuff about that. They're like, hey, what do we need to do to start this? I'm sure my husband could probably point you in the right direction. He knows everybody.
Starting point is 00:50:17 And he always asks me to help, but I don't know anything about it. Not even help, but just hold the camera. Yeah, that's why you get on Google and just search. You know, listen, as much as you fight it, you're in this with him. So you might as well just fucking, if you can't beat him, join him. And that way you guys just build this fucking empire together. That's what Jay and I did. I just have, I have a normal job too, though.
Starting point is 00:50:39 She's like, so in other words, I need to quit my job. No. Negative. He said no. I don't want to quit my job. No, I don't want her to i don't want to my job and actually i'm working from home this year so yeah is everything remote out there no um so the district that i teach in created it came with covid whenever all that was but they have an actual virtual school now so the district created it's like a new school so if they would have built a new brick and mortar school but they didn't it's a virtual school
Starting point is 00:51:11 and so in september of last year i quit my job in one district it was a far drive because i got offered this virtual high school math job that's like a teacher's fucking dream is to fucking teach from home so i didn't get to teach from home last year we were out of school but it was fine but this year our building's not done so we get to teach from home yeah gotcha same thing and everything so well dane why don't you tell people where they can find you shout out your socials and all that other stuff all that find me on facebook uh only fans i'm just joking. That was a joke. I was like, wait a second. Rewind.
Starting point is 00:51:47 I got so excited. Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, all Dane the Great with two Ts. Yay. That's it. I can't wait to see what this year holds for you guys. You guys are really going to crush it. You guys have something really cool and really special and unique that nobody else is doing. So this is your time to fucking just run with it run with it you too you i've watched a lot of your videos too i think you're very funny thank you i don't try to
Starting point is 00:52:13 be but i think we need to sit down and get some goals together though i love that you know what i do every year every fucking january 1st i make a vision board i sit down with magazines i know it sounds childish but the shit really fucking works because in january I make a vision board I sit down with magazines I know it sounds childish but the shit really fucking works because in January I made this vision board cut out everything that I wanted to accomplish this year and I've accomplished everything but one and we're actually doing it right now we're buying a house in Vegas different topics everything I'll send you I'll get your number I'll send you a picture of it if you ever need help with whatever like you know learn how to assist your man i got you baby because
Starting point is 00:52:45 that's what i do with him and it's it's hard because like you were asking you know like what do you see like i think about that sometimes like what are we gonna do when this just like dies off so like we have to make it bigger no but you got to learn how to live in the moment baby and like be excited and i'm good with that but do you know how many people we meet and they're like so what is your long-term goals with this? I'm sitting back like, I mean, I still got a career. Like I still got a,
Starting point is 00:53:08 I can go back and go back to that. Let's see. We need to figure out how we can make this career be. Well, the first thing you got to do is hop on board and fucking be his biggest fan. Hop right on here. Yeah. You got to be his biggest fan.
Starting point is 00:53:22 You got to, you got to make sure she's getting what she needs, too. You guys have to, you know, just be there for each other and just fucking take hands and walk through the fire, dude. That's what you guys got to do. And I promise you, it took Jay and I seven years to get to where we are. Like, you guys are crushing it. You guys have something really fucking cool here.
Starting point is 00:53:39 So just fucking run with it. Run wild and free together and just fucking have fun. Just fucking build this empire. These young ass kids holding us back. Oh, fuck. I'm just kidding. We love them. We miss them.
Starting point is 00:53:51 His face. He was like. I know. Y'all don't have. We have full custody of Bailey, who isn't mine, but she's mine. We've had full custody ever since she was seven. And then Jay has another son who is five um named noah whose mom is in his life and she uh we see him you know whenever we can so you don't want kids i you know
Starting point is 00:54:15 jay and i my husband how do i answer this without sounding terrible we don't have to record it guys we just um no i don't i'm i'm i'm so honest with everybody jay and i want to fucking be buck wild so we are waiting for fucking bailey to hit 18 so we can hit the ground running because if it wasn't if we didn't have full custody of bailey we wouldn't even be living in nashville we would have to go back huh if i could go i love my kids so much no but if i could go back and wait longer yeah because I did eventually want a kid, but I could have waited until 30 or 35. Everything happens for a reason, though.
Starting point is 00:54:50 And those babies are going to grow up and fucking be a part of you guys' empire and help out. And you fucking could be Southern dad, too. You never know. Like, there's everything. My daughter, yeah. All three of them, they are so funny.
Starting point is 00:55:01 Are they? Yeah. My daughter's like, so I went to my so-and-so and like her dad loves your video you know like that's it's getting to that point that's really cool and then my son comes in there's like dad dad you do the gritty and then you know i love that see bailey was embarrassed of us for the longest time. And it finally to this year, she hit 14 and I'm finally like the cool stepmom and Jay's like the cool dad. So it's like, she's like, but for the longest time it was, she was so embarrassed of us. And it's crazy that kids go
Starting point is 00:55:34 through that. Cause you're like, bro, I'm fucking cool. You know, like what, how everybody else thinks we're cool, but you don't think we're cool. Have you guys gone through that yet with your kids? Yes. I don't think they think we're cool. I know, yeah. Bella's only, the oldest is eight. So it's coming. Oh, oh. Like 13, eight.
Starting point is 00:55:53 Wait. Just wait. 10 to 13, they're going to be like, uh, no. I don't want my parents around. Like, it's crazy. I didn't think it would ever happen, and it didn't. It was pretty fucking wild. Well, I really appreciate you guys coming on the podcast.
