Starting point is 00:00:42 If you live on the East Coast, get him to tattoo you. He is a genius. He is one of my favorite mystics living on the planet today. And you can go see him perform with Emil Amos and Holy Sons on December, fifth at the Ayaprana listening room in Asheville, North Carolina. After that, he's going to be in Brooklyn. You can find the links down below if you want to go see Robert Ryan or Emil live. But now, everybody, welcome back to the DTFH, Robert Ryan.
Starting point is 00:01:18 Robert! Are you there? Oh, Namashuai. Welcome back to the DTF. You know, I can't remember. mentioning you the other day and I'm like oh my god I got to invite him back on the show we haven't we haven't talked in ages and anytime there's a lapse in our communication you've gone on all kinds of adventures inevitably insane things have happened to you what are you been up to
Starting point is 00:01:45 robert um well i just got back from san francisco yesterday yesterday morning and uh i was tattooing out there for a week i was in portland first and i went to san francisco which you know i was tattooing which is my job, my day job. And I travel and do that usually in the fall and when it slows down here. So along with that, though, I had, you know, every time I go over there, it's like, it's a mystical place. It's a mystical city for me. I love going there and special things always happen. This last time I had the amazing opportunity to go to Mark McLeod's house, which for those who don't know is the largest collector.
Starting point is 00:02:27 preveyor, uh, hero of the psychedelic world. He's got over 30,000 hits of acid displayed in his house. Active LSD though, right? Like active LSD. How can you do that legally? How are you allowed to do that?
Starting point is 00:02:44 He's been fighting it his whole life. He's gone to jail multiple times for it. Now, of course, everything's loosened up a lot. Yeah. It's as stringent, but you know, through the 80s, 90s, Otts, he's been fighting. He's an advocate, Hela, and he sees it as art. It is art.
Starting point is 00:03:04 That's his workaround, I would imagine, in court, so they can never prove him as being like an acid dealer, so to speak. He's an art dealer. Right. But he's an incredible person. He's connected to that world, the SF, LSD Underground, and, you know he just just be i think we didn't take acid we we just had a great conversation me and some friends there and uh he just exudes psychedelia you know and every story kind of weaves into
Starting point is 00:03:40 another psychedelic story um he he shared with me um i was holding uh and we're we're looking at a sheet of acid which was all coat of arms these tiny coats of arms and he's like you like that that's Jesus's bloodline. Wow. As a sheet of acid. And he took it to Huxley to have it signed before Huxley died. Huxley was a Freemason and was like, these are all backwards. So Huxley turned it upside down and signed it upside down.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Wow. So he recognized whoever printed that sheet, though the intention might have been good, had hopefully accidentally reversed. the coat of arms because otherwise it's the antichrist like that LSD would be like Jesus's bloodline in reverse which you probably don't want to take or maybe you do maybe that's the way that's the way you access it you know what I mean like we you start at the crucifixion and work your way back you know or who knows you know or or you start now and work your way
Starting point is 00:04:49 back to the crucifixion how in McClough in his house how many Jesus-related sheets did you see there? How much? Quite a few. You know, and he's an occultist as well. So there's a lot of occult imagery
Starting point is 00:05:07 around the house, on the sheets, everywhere. I mean, the place is decked out in psychedelia. So, I mean, but there were stuff that I had taken
Starting point is 00:05:18 that I saw, one being the Gorbachev. Have you ever taken Gorbachev? Never took Gorbachev acid. How was that? I remember. It was great. But that led into a story about how the KGB was involved with the LSD dissemination in the 60s as well.
Starting point is 00:05:35 You know, as much as the CIA was involved, the KGB also had their hand in it. They came to San Francisco to learn how to make it. And he'd been in contact with some KGB agents. Who taught the KGB how to make acid? Some head in San Francisco, you know, like it was wide open at that point. You know what I mean? Wow. You know, like they might not have known they were KGB agents or they might have.
Starting point is 00:05:59 At that time, everything was so, you know what I mean? Like the fluidity of that whole world was just so crazy and intermingled and no, you know, like Ken Kesey and those guys are like connected to the CIA and the FBI as well. One flew over the cuckoo's list. Yeah, I don't think it was a nefarious thing, really. Well, you get with LSD history, you do get into this fascinating, which came from. first, the chicken or the egg, which came first? The LSD or the CIA? Who made who here? Or maybe there was that, you know, obviously there was like the OSS or the intelligence community that then came into contact with LSD. And you have to wonder, how much did that contact impact
Starting point is 00:06:46 intelligence itself? How much in the same way that we know LSD impacted the culture, how much of what we understand is like CIA doctrine or CIA mythology or CIA legends, how much of that is related to them coming into contact with this incredible, powerful,
Starting point is 00:07:09 potent, magical substance and it affected them as much as it affected everybody else. That's the thing. It's the impact that it has on the entire world. From the defense industry to to hippies to just everyday families, you know, who had turned on to it. And that's what's amazing to me.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Like, it's really easy to kind of like throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think it's, I'm starting to notice it more and more now where you see like, oh, this is a CIA sciop. And it might have started out as one. It might have developed into one. It might have been disinformation that they disseminated to get people away from it. Because at some point, they had to be scared by the revelations that people were having on LSD and the impact it was happening. So it's really amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:02 I think meeting someone like Mark was just, he's a pure psychonaut. And that's where his faith lies. And that's where his belief lies. And he's an artist as well. So he's acid, art, you know, the spirit, you know. And I feel like whatever else comes into that frame of view, that's where he arrives. Well, I think that's a very advanced view, by the way, which is, you know, the current, you know, it speaks for the zeitgeist right now. And I think really it's more of an indictment of, you know, power structures in the world as they are right now than anything, which is that the, like the new Euro witch is you're compromised.
Starting point is 00:08:46 That's the new, you're a witch. You work for some intelligence group. You're Mossad, you're CIA, you're a spook, you're whatever the fuck it is. You are getting funding from some state agency and your intent in the world is not on the level. It's warped to transform the culture into something that the state approves of. So this is the, you, I'm sure you've been accused of this. I get accused of this on a daily basis, like somehow being a puppet of the CIA,
Starting point is 00:09:27 mysteriously palanteer, Peter Thiel. I hear it all the time. I have no connection. No one cares if you say that. No connection to any of these groups. But to me, what's fascinating about it is that this is a big fear. in the zeitgeist right now is that people who people have become somehow wrapped up in the military industrial complex and what they're doing in the world is not on the level and by on the level i mean
Starting point is 00:09:58 as purely as possible articulating the glory of god or the divine energy into the world but rather it's been warped by the state this is a indictment of the state itself yes me Douga Trussell Family Hour podcast, and Blue Chew is also a sponsor of strong, powerful erections at a planetary level. Thanks to Blue Chew, people like me are traveling backwards through time. Pre-COVID, pre-2012, pre-the collapse of several weird timelines, pre-the-Cern particle accelerator, disrupting time space itself, to an age when our boners were free, strong, powerful, fearless, and real. It works, friends.
Starting point is 00:11:01 That's the main thing. A lot of us catch shit for doing boner pill commercials on our podcast. I will never, ever be ashamed of promoting Blue Chew because it works. And they have something new. It's called Blue Chew Gold. I'm probably supposed to read what's in it. It's got four powerful ingredients, two for blood flow, two for arousal. I don't know exactly what's going on, but when I took it, I felt like a horny
Starting point is 00:11:26 rabid dog wandering through a forest made of tits. It's that powerful. It was wonderful. Incredible stuff. They figured it out. They cracked the code. It's the philosopher's stone of boners. You should try it. And we've got a special deal for our listeners. Right now, when you buy two months of blue-chew gold, you get the third free with promo code Duncan. That's promo code Duncan. You'll also receive an additional 10% off plus free overnight shipping on your first order. Visit bluechew.com for more details and important safety information, and we thank Blue Chew for sponsoring the pod and the bedroom. Yeah, I think so too.
Starting point is 00:12:21 And it just goes to show that people live in a velocity of fear. Yeah. And everything is fear-based. And, you know, of course, all those entities and three-letter, uh, factions existed. And they do infiltrate counterculture. Sure. There's a history of that, of course.
Starting point is 00:12:44 But I think they're more powerful when you're under the belief that everything is a sciop, you know, or everything is a nefarious grift. Yeah. And like, I've heard like Osley was CIA or I've heard the Grateful Dead were CIA. And like, if they were, they weren't doing a great job. The CIA is like, why do we fucking hire these hippies? How much are we giving them? They suck.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Yeah. Jack Kerouac. Yeah, no, no. I mean, I don't, I don't, I, as far as, I mean, I'm sure I have met a CIA agent, but none that have ever said I'm in the CIA. I have no idea. I have no idea. I do like the sort of.
Starting point is 00:13:36 bigfoot, Sasquatch, crypted, uh, mysterious energy that they've harvested around them. You know what I be? Their, their branding is pretty good in the sense that they're this sort of like,
Starting point is 00:13:51 you know, they're the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
Starting point is 00:13:53 the, the, camouflages itself with counterculture. And then shifts the narrative. But don't you feel like, if you really believe that culture is that easy to manipulate, I just don't think that you have become a true humanist. You don't really understand the human spirit.
Starting point is 00:14:17 You don't understand. Yeah, sure. Go ahead. Get in there and try to like warp the culture according to some military, industrial, complex, genocidal fucking intent. It's not going to work. You could try, though. But probably what's going to happen is you're going to get sucked into your own humanity
Starting point is 00:14:35 and you're going to abandon your post more than anything. I would say that's the more likely occurrence is that people who start off in the CIA end up as part of the human culture more than people who are humanists end up in the CIA if I had to roll the dice. That's what I would become naive. Woo, whi, hippie, so I could be wrong.
Starting point is 00:14:56 It's so easy to be misunderstood just on the level of, like, you talking to a friend or us doing a podcast together. could you imagine if you tried like a campaign and how like the intended consequence compared to what actually happened or intended uh intended and to the actual consequence you know it's like once once the acids out of your hands and on the tongues of the kids that you got no say in the matter you know that's where i'm confused is like i just don't understand how you get let you're like okay listen guys um um at the CIA, what's something that we really want? We want nationalism. And we got to figure out a way to get these counterculture assholes into war and blowing up children. Any ideas?
Starting point is 00:15:48 Anyone have any ideas? Acid? Let's give them acid. That'll work. You know what I mean? Because anytime I've taken LSD, the first thing that goes out the window is nationalism. That's like one of the first things that goes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:03 It's like you turn on, God help you, turn on like some state propaganda, like Fox or something. And you're just like, bleh. What is that? They're fucking monsters. Right? So how does LSD, this is where I've always been confused in the CIA, in using LSD for some purpose other than like interrogating prisoners. But as far as cultural manipulation, how the fuck does that help anything that I? I assume the CIA is interested in.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Yeah, you'd be better off like having McDonald's as a sigh out. I mean, yeah. Like that or something that's going to turn you violent, you know, Budweiser. Sure. That could be the style. Coke. Cocaine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Blow. Which was definitely run by the CIA. Okay. That makes sense. Crack makes sense. The CIA getting crack out there. But maybe we misunderstood the CIA. Maybe it's some, maybe whatever the fuck.
Starting point is 00:17:03 it is like you just can't even know until you get into the deep underground military bunker and talk to the fucking gray alien that sends telepathic messages into your mind about some like hierarchical superintelligence that one of its tendrils is the CIA and then you're like oh
Starting point is 00:17:20 now I get it of course but now I'm waiting for them that like crash through the doors they don't I just I I one and this is my own like old old man cynicism anytime I find myself thinking, man, maybe the CIA is fucking with you. I'm like, dude, that is so such narcissism.
Starting point is 00:17:43 That is so embarrassing. Oh, yeah. Think the CIA gives a fuck about it. Anytime you start thinking, the CIA cares about whatever it may be, a small group of podcasters or whatever it may be. It's like, I don't know. Because, again, I've never met them. But I always scratch, it's like, do they give a fuck? Like, really?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Like, aren't most of them just like desk job drones who are like, you know, get an email about some new filing system? Like, are they really marionetteing popular culture? I don't know. Maybe I'm naive. I could be wrong. And people are going to be like, that's what the CIA told you to say. There's no way out.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Yeah. It just makes for so many arrests. like free associations that people want to do it's Mara it's Maya it's Mara it's it's Maya it's like we're projecting our general understanding that reality is deceptive in nature active illusion and we're projecting that onto three-letter agencies instead of like what what I think was discovered by some of the great thinkers a long time ago which is like yeah the reality as you understand it is actively tricking you into thinking it's something different than what it is, right?
Starting point is 00:19:08 Isn't that what it, on the other side of it is Mara, Maya, Lucifer, the trickster spirit? Yeah, you know, I just, my guru just told me something really great the other day. He said, um, Maya, or expectations. our Maya acceptance is spirit. And I was like, yeah, you know, it's whenever you have an expectation, that's cool, or when you think you have it figured out before it happens, and you're, you're acting outside of the present moment, that's where the illusion starts to begin.
Starting point is 00:19:48 That's right. And then how deep you get wound up in that. And that's, you know, that goes for paranoia and fear, like, what we're talking about. And also, like, keeping your problems onto, like, some, invisible agency that is tapping your phone, you know, because you can't pay your rent for a, you have a shitty job. Expectation is Maya. Expectation is Maya.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Surrender. Acceptance. Acceptance. Acceptance is spirit. And so, right, because, see, this is what's really fascinating about that is, like, no matter what's happening in your life. As vile as it may be, as scary as it may be, as just absolutely fucked up beyond measure as it may be. When you accept it, it's like you open a window into that space. Like all of a sudden, light illuminates the space and you can now, you're grounded. You have,
Starting point is 00:20:51 you're in it now. You're like part of it. But the more you are using your expectation of what should be happening versus what is happening, the more hell-reelmy that space becomes. Like, I don't belong here. I'm not supposed to be here. Something's wrong. The roller coaster's taking a wrong turn. What am I doing here? Those expectations of where you should be darken, confuse, and make you feel hopeless,
Starting point is 00:21:22 whereas the moment you're like, okay, this is what's happening. This is it. this is it this paradoxical joy enters the situation yeah yeah i'm not going to get unraveled by what's happening right now i'm going to stay uh awake aware uh in view of it and not try to change what i can't and not swim against the current that is obviously much stronger than i am so much power there though yeah and that's that's what it gives you stability And that's kind of where this all, that whole conversation came from because I was learning this practice that is supposed to increase stability in your practice. And it gives you, it gives you reassert.
Starting point is 00:22:09 It kind of removes a lot of doubt in this practice. And it is a Puget to Ganesh. Oh, really? Can you tell me more about it? This episode of the DTFH is brought to you by my friends at MintMobil. You know what I think MintMobil is? I think it's a disruptive tech. I think Mint Mobile is akin to Luke Skywalker flying right into the Death Star and blowing that
Starting point is 00:22:47 son of a bitch up. And yeah, I know that didn't really happen. At least that's what they want us to believe. It's history, friends. The Death Star is real and the moon is a fragmental portion of the Death Star. But that's something we'll talk about on another podcast. The point is Mint Mobile took what's wrong with wireless and made it right with premium wireless for 15 bucks a month. 15 bucks a month. 15 bucks a month. You're going to scratch your chin. You're going to think, how is that even possible? How can I pay so much money for my expensive fucking wireless carrier that barely works?
Starting point is 00:23:19 That's what I've been asking myself to. I don't know. It makes you really wonder, who's in control here? All plans come with high-speed data and unlimited talk and techs delivered on the nation's largest 5G network. You can even bring your current phone and your number. choose from three, six, or 12-month plans and say goodbye to a monthly bill. Ditch overpriced wireless with MintMobile. It's so easy.
Starting point is 00:23:45 It's easy. I tried it. It's so easy. Again, it's the kind of thing where you're going to do it. And you're going to just wonder why. I guess I just liked paying too much for my phone. And you're going to start asking, like, is this some kind of like financial domination? if I accidentally subscribe to some kind of amorphous dominatrix,
Starting point is 00:24:08 you don't even get the pleasure of sending big checks to a dominatrix who like maybe will gift you with a footpick. You're just sending checks for no reason to a massive corporation and you're going to be like, what am I doing? Why? To get your wireless plan for just 15 bucks a month, go to mintmobile.com slash Duncan. That's mintmobile.com slash Duncan. cut your wireless bill to 15 bucks a month at mintmobile.com slash Duncan.
Starting point is 00:24:36 That's it. There's no catch. Up front payment $45 for three months, $90 for $6 months or $180 for 12 months. Plan required. $15 per month equivalent tax and fees extra. Initial plans are only greater than 50 gigabyte money slow. Network is busy. Includes up to 20 gigabyte hot spot.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Capable device required. Availability speed and coverage varies. Cementmobile.com. Yeah, so I just completed it. It's an introductory to this Sri Vidya is the practice. And that's the highest wisdom is true. Revidia is the goddess of the highest wisdom. And it begins with this puja to Ganesh, where you build Ganesh out of a small amount
Starting point is 00:25:22 of turmeric and water and paste. So you make a little Ganesh. And then you offer water to it constantly with these mantras. It's called tarpidem. And what you're doing is you're dissolving it. So you with the mantra, you create it and then you dissolve it. Just like salvea guagula, like the bapomit and many other things. And what happens is eventually as you do it, I did it 41 days.
Starting point is 00:25:52 You yourself, your personality, your wants, your needs become dissolved with the mantras. Or they begin to. Yeah. Yeah. It was a beautiful, beautiful 41 days, difficult. I had started it here. I had to finish it on the road, which was a little intense, you know, because there's a lot of preparation for it. and to do it, it takes a few hours.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Takes a few hours? Yeah, the mantra is very long and you do it 441 times. Per day? It's like, it takes you several hours. Wow. You do these rituals that are so intense. I'm so impressed by your discipline with this stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:29 It's crazy. Several hours a day you were doing this for how long? Yeah, just 41 days on this point. It's so long. It's going to be a lifetime. That's a thing. You know, I'll continue to do them on, went to them every day, but continue to do them during the week.
Starting point is 00:26:44 And it's moving up to the next level. There's, I believe, seven different levels in this practice that I've taken on. Seven levels. Yeah. Yeah, that, that, it's cool. That, what that's pointing towards, though, is so interesting. Like, you, you know, I think everybody stumbled up accidentally, like, at least rubbed shoulders with that what you're talking about there where you do realize that sort of somehow the
Starting point is 00:27:18 totality of everything you are is really just you know it's like it's like when you it's windshield wipe or something you know it's as significant as when you spray windshield wiper fluid on your windshield and wipe it off with a with a windshield wiper and no one wants to think that but it's like You look at just, I mean, just the basic reality of how many people have been born, how many people have died throughout time. And then you add to that infinite universe, probably being throughout time space, constantly emerging, constantly dissipating. And yet, it's like, it's really on one level.
Starting point is 00:27:57 And it's people don't want to think about this. But it's like, what are you really? Other than just spray of something, you are important. I mean, the windshield wiper fluid. But it's important. It cleans your windshield. But ultimately, come on. You're just this wash on.
Starting point is 00:28:20 It's washing against time. But that's not all you are, is it? When you connect with the bigger thing that you're talking about, it's okay to be the windshield wiper fluid. If you haven't connected with that bigger thing, it's scary if that's, it's nihilism. But once you've just caught a little glimpse that other thing. It's okay to be that. It's in fact delightful. Yeah. And like when you say like you're
Starting point is 00:28:46 trying to reduce your personality and that that freaks people out. Right. Because they think that you're trying to become blank or become like a, you know, just a drone. Right. And not have any kind of, but it's not about that at all. It's just about what's becoming important to you in your life. And And it is, it's super, it's very important to ourselves, you know, like, who we're the most important person to ourselves. Right. Because we're, it's our point of view. We're the, we're the witness, you know, and what we're witnessing and what's being witnessed. Those are the three things that are most important in our lives.
Starting point is 00:29:28 And I just, as so much gets caught up in personality and thinking that we're special or thinking, you know, like you said, the the amount of narcissism that comes with like thinking that people are after you tapping your phones and you know like that you would require that much of a defense budget against you or yeah or um you know just like uh that like yeah but it's it's it's such a crazy it's such a cool balance though because every single thing that you do in this life has a equal to or greater to reaction every action that you take true of karma you know But that being said, like, it's in concert with everybody else's actions and reactions as well. And it's a matter of becoming in tune with all those things rather than being like the shining star.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Like, hey, look at me over here, you know. Right. Well, I mean, also, you know, generally when it comes to the analysis of identity and the way people recoil at that analysis, there is a sort of almost superstitious sense of like, but I'm special. But it's like if you really look at your identity, it's quite, it's not, it's really annoying more than it is special. Like if you just spend any time looking at your preferences, you'll see that the special glittering snowflake quality that you imagine is going to be eradicated if you spend any amount of time looking deeply into what you are. it's not that so much as it's a never-ending string of embarrassments and irritations and annoyances. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:31:13 The marathon. Yeah, the marathon of errors. Yeah, exactly. It's a never-ending marathon of errors. And like real basic bitch annoyances where you're like, where is my water? I wish they'd brought another water to the table. my butt hurts why does my butt hurt
Starting point is 00:31:34 I oh is that I have a cramp I need I'm I hope I don't get a headache I feel like I might be getting sick you know what I mean it's nothing like glorious
Starting point is 00:31:48 it's not like a unicorn and some moonlit glade you know what I mean as much as it's like a blistered foot that we're yeah think about think about someone at like at the line in a airport you know and having like the meltdown yeah you know like ah you know it's like everybody needs to get
Starting point is 00:32:07 to where they're going that's in this airport right now right thousands and thousands and yes they're we're going to help you sir we're going to help you try to get to your place but it doesn't take priority over every other person that's waiting behind you in front of you to left you it's all right but it's me yeah yeah you have you have a bunch of children now you're going to have grandchildren most likely. You'll probably have great grandchildren. You'd be very lucky to, if you're a great
Starting point is 00:32:40 grandchildren knew anything about you. They don't know shit about me. And that's, when you zoom out at that level, it's like, yeah, how special are you? You know? But I think like, I was going to say like making music, making movies, film, writing books,
Starting point is 00:32:57 everything that you're sharing with the world. That's what's important. You know, what you've shared And what's being shared is more important than the person sharing it most of the time. And the sharing in the moment. Like it's like this legacy crap that everyone's going on and on about it. It's like, why are you tormenting yourself in this way about some legacy bullshit? Like it doesn't even matter.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Like if something that you do while you're alive resonates through time, that thing resonating through time was a tiny little fragment of your life. probably you will change after the thing that you made resonates through time and you won't even be the same person that made the thing resonating through time that thing's gone so yeah in other words you can't hold on at all to any phase of your life maybe good things will come from it maybe bad things will come from it both are irrelevantized in the natural progression of the identity as it evolves through time and transforms and eventually becomes unrecognizable to what it was before. So this leaves all that it leaves you. It's like Bhagavagita, you have a right to your action.
Starting point is 00:34:13 You do not have a right to the fruits of your action. That's where you're just left right there. That's it. That's all you got. Your action, which is in the moment, right? That's exactly what I was. I was just going to say it. And you said it first, the Bhagavagata, huge prescription for this, this.
Starting point is 00:34:29 problem, you know, because it's like you get so caught up in like, you know, the little me and the little eye that you miss the true eye that. And if you make an offering, if everything you do is an offering, your mistakes aren't going to be as painful. Your glories aren't going to be as dangerous, you know, and loaded, you know what I mean? And it also gives you like a pathway where you can like be the very best version of yourself and the things you are offering or you are sharing are coming from a place of purity or light or illumination. When you're a kid the other day my my daughter she's got this mud kitchen in the backyard and she's like daddy I'm going to make you I'm going to make you dinner and she spends a lot of time water grass she's pulling up out of the ground
Starting point is 00:35:29 I don't know, some stones thrown in. And with a great deal of pomp, she like brings it to me. Like, I've made this for you. And it was the most beautiful meal I've ever seen. I'm like, oh, Selma, thank you. It's just incredible. And, you know, this to me, this is why this is that first in the Bhagavagida. If you offer a leaf, a flower, this episode of the DTFH is brought to you by my friends at Amintara.
Starting point is 00:36:11 I want to tell you about something. It's been staring at us our entire lives, like literally in every fairy tale, every Mario game, every lawn, ornament section of every garden store, and somehow nobody told us it actually does something. Most people's nervous systems are running on fumes, anxious, overslept, over-stimulated. The usual options, alcohol, sleep aides, benzos, either numb you out or extract a painful tax the next day. people want to actually calm down, not disappear. That's a real difference. And I introduce you to aminita muscaria. It works on the GABA system, the brain's primary calm sleep regulator. It's not psychedelic in the psilocybin sense. It's a different compound, muscimal, different experience
Starting point is 00:37:01 entirely. It's amazing. That's my own subjective experience. It's amazing. Aminita muscaria is completely legal and I love it. It's amazing. It has everything that I like about Benzum, and magic mushrooms mixed in to one thing. This is my own subjective experience. This is what not written down for me to say. They're amazing. They chill you out, but they also have this kind of psychoactive, beautiful quality. Also, don't eat the weird fucking Ammonita gummies or whatever the hell you're going to find at gas stations.
Starting point is 00:37:33 This is very different. These people are the number one suppliers of good Aminita muscaria. lot of weird, creepy shit out there, synthetic shit out there. That's not what this is. I know Christian, the man who runs this company, we've had a lot of great conversations. If you are, and again, they're not asking me to say this, so I hope I'm not running into some legal shit here. If you are having problems because you're like hooked on benzos, like so many Americans are, if you're having problems because you don't out to chill out or relax, whatever it may be, you should try aminita muscaria. I would not lead you astray.
Starting point is 00:38:12 It's incredible. It's incredible that somehow it's legal. It gives me really amazing dreams. And it survived the Trussell Airport test, which is what happens if I take this in an airport. And it was amazing. It, like, actually made my airport experience. Great. So I give it five trussle golden mushrooms. Try them out. You will like them. If you're at all curious, here's what to do. Click the link in the description. It's amantara.com forward slash go, forward slash DT. That link takes you to exclusive bundles built specifically for people trying this for the first time. Starting point is 00:38:55 That gets you an additional 11% off the already discounted bundle price. So you're getting a deal on top of a deal. Amantara.com forward slash go forward slash DTF. Links in the description. Code Duncan 11. Start low. attention it's one of those things you dial in for yourself thank you amantara how does it go what is it i will accept this uh what is it how does it go any it's like any any any prayer any leaf flower
Starting point is 00:39:40 light it goes through the all the different the smallest aspects that of any of the offerings that are being presented in any ritual yeah and i will accept it yeah and because this is what we do as parents It's like this is what you do as a parent. When your child brings you something, you're not like, this isn't an actual lasagna, you fucking asshole. It's water and grass. You're like, thank you. And this is, to me, like the miracle of Bhakti
Starting point is 00:40:11 is it starts introducing you to this possibility in your old-ass adult body. You can actually have that same connection. Because, come on, whatever you offer the source of intelligence in the universe, is probably not going to exceed whatever the source of intelligence in the universe has manifested.
Starting point is 00:40:31 Yeah. Yeah, that's the thing. Like, with all the offerings and all the rituals, like the gods don't need the flowers because they've given us the flowers. Right. The gods don't need the fire because they've provided us with the knowledge of fire
Starting point is 00:40:44 and the energy that it takes to channel fire. Yeah. You know, it's not created, but it's sustained. fire or something like that. And it's for us. It's for us to, and the highest offering is, is our attention. If we give our attention to something, there's nothing greater. And that's, that's really, that's the true Pooja is just giving your attention. And that goes beyond sitting on a mat in a temple, in a church, in a mosque, wherever it might be. It goes to like your day-to-day instantaneous interactions with people. And if you can see the glory of the divine
Starting point is 00:41:24 in each person that that's the highest offering but when you watch a puja ceremony when you watch someone actually doing when you what you're talking about when you catch i can remember the one time i went to vrndavan uh at the harrychdiscon temple out there and watching one of the devotees doing puja in that what you're seeing the attention like how perfected their attention was on every step of like what was happening like that the attention was so i don't know it was almost like vivid it was vivid or like it was like it was almost sparking you know what i'm talking about yeah no yeah it's wild it's wild to see that like it's great it's crazy to see that level of focus well what you learn in the puja if you're taking puja pujara pujari training and
Starting point is 00:42:19 what i've learned in in a lot of these rituals something that happens is you start to realize that you're not doing the puja at all and whatever whatever you're worshipping is actually performing the worship so you're you're tapping into that that transmission so you you're you're all you've almost become like an appendage or something like you're yeah yeah like the right hand of God or the left hand of God that's what it looks like when you're watching it that's what it feels like yeah that's what it looks Like it's like it's like it's I don't think unless anyone's actually see it's for those of you haven't like you could see it there's you probably have a Krishna temple around you or some kind of
Starting point is 00:43:00 you can see it but when you see it it's just whoa man like there's definitely some it's a two-way street at the very least you could see that that's happening it's not like this is a mannequin that somebody's talking to or bathing or ringing bells in front of like it's there's a direct connection that's happening. It's hard, I think, for people to understand unless you witnessed it. It kind of circles back to what we were talking about, too, where like three generations away from who we are, it doesn't really matter so much. And we're kind of these like forgotten blips in time. But the lineage, like these lineages that the, and these practices that have been going on for thousands of years, the practice that I was just mentioning was given to a guru,
Starting point is 00:43:48 who was given to another guru from a guru whose his life was insane his name was um shri swa precaution precussion um teerta parma hanssa digumara avaduta wow and he and he got all those names by all the crazy things he did he learned basically 10 million mantras in three years and was able to recite all four betas you know and this is just like i have a picture of them i'll show you can i hold them up yeah please this is him there's a little Darshon wow
Starting point is 00:44:22 you know um so that that's he's what we would consider our uh our paramester guru our high guru and his lineage
Starting point is 00:44:34 goes back they can trace it all the way back thousands of years because it's not so much about that personality but it's about that soul that continues to keep teaching this and it's probably the same soul
Starting point is 00:44:48 soul over and over. Well, yeah, because that, it's like, we're in time. Like, you can't argue with this. We're in time. Like, you're in time. I'm in time. We're in time. We're experiencing time as a human.
Starting point is 00:45:01 That's part of the deal, right? Like, we're in time. But people like that, in these rituals and such, I would argue, these are outside of time situations that a window opens up into time and shines this eternal, light, this outside of time, that's part of the vibe you get from these things. Outside time and shining into time. Why? I don't know why. Why are we in some kind of like transcendental cuckoo clock where like from time to time this door opens up and beings like that come out and they don't do like, woo-woo, they do mantra and stuff. I don't know why. But that does
Starting point is 00:45:43 seem to be the situation. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I like that. I like that. I like that. analogy a lot and it is kind of it can be so fun you know it could be really fun it doesn't have to be so rigid and uh you know just like like the abrahamic a lot of abrahamic religions are so strong staunch and like you got to do it this way you got to do it this way like you can have fun in it it's it's your moment to experience any of it it's your moment to watch television go to the movies go to music whatever you might do go to sports events don't worry You're going to come down. Don't worry.
Starting point is 00:46:20 You're just super high right now. I remember once in my Burning Man camp, I don't know how it happened, but a batch of very powerful ketamine made its way through the entire Burning Man camp. And dude, it was the funniest thing because we were all, we were done. Like we were all, like we couldn't move.
Starting point is 00:46:39 We're all suddenly just like laying on the playa, like frozen. And for a while, just a kind of silence other than just the sound of Burning Man. And then the silence, it begins to be punctuated by finally people are sort of coming out of the kale. And so these moans start, like, coming through, like, oh, like, I'm alive. And, like, I remember as we are all, like, thank God, finally returning back to, you know, default reality. But in this case, the trip that we're all experiencing is human.
Starting point is 00:47:17 incarnation and it seems very it's very serious on one level where all we can get so serious about it but i think that death for many of us it doesn't lead to some horrible place but it's more like we we return back to like some of a very very beautiful situation potentially in a very familiar situation a very good place and we've just made a little excursion which we're calling our lives right now from this now i don't know if you agree with that or not and it's a lot of work. I don't disagree or agree because I think in the end we're all going to be very surprised. The friend of mine said that to me recently. He's like, I think we're all in for a very big surprise at the end of our lives. And I'm sure hope so. I want it to be, you know, like,
Starting point is 00:48:03 I hope I'm prepared for it. I hope I can go into it without, with as little attachment as possible. But that being said, I'm not quite sure what's going to happen. I do believe it's going to be, yeah, I think it's going to be a surprise. And who doesn't love surprise? Well, then your friend fucked it up, didn't he? Why is your friend going around and ruined the surprise? Because he knows. Well, then you should pipe down. I mean, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:48:30 Have you ever ruined a surprise party? I never have, but every time I've learned about one, I always thought I'd be the one that would. See what your friends do. That's what your friend's kind of doing. It's like, it's a surprise. It's like, okay, well, now it's not. now it's not quite as much a surprise
Starting point is 00:48:47 no offense every day's a surprise that's these kind of right yeah it's true you never know what's going to come you never know what's coming you never you can pretend that you do you don't
Starting point is 00:49:00 and I like that you know I like that I mean I like having conversations like this I do feel like it would be a little it would be a little dishonest for me to say that this human incarnation doesn't scare the shit out of me sometimes and frighten me and make me feel so alone and desperate and sad sometimes. But conversations like this with the devotees and such, it reminds you, you know, you don't,
Starting point is 00:49:29 it's okay. Like it's mysterious, difficult, but somehow just these conversations, I can almost remember something. I can almost remember. And that's enough for me just to almost remember. Yeah. Inspiration is probably the most important part of any spiritual path, you know. Inspiration. Yeah, because if you can't keep inspired, keep being inspired, you'll lose, it's not easy getting up every morning sitting on the floor, chanting mantras and taking on practices, studying, giving up things, fasting, all these things. You know, like, you need to be, if you're not inspired, it goes away very quick, and it's very dry. I become very dogmat. Very dogmatic.
Starting point is 00:50:17 But if you're inspired and you see people like, oh, man, this guy's living a great life. This woman's having, you know, these amazing experiences. She seems very happy. You know, if you meet people along the path that are like, oh, yeah, I think I could do that. That's huge. Like, what a great gift. Yeah. And, you know, if anything I could offer to anybody, because people ask me quite, you know, like,
Starting point is 00:50:42 they see my art and things like that. I tattooed people. I wind up talking to them for a long time. The question of Sada and practice and, you know, a Godward path comes up. And the only thing I can really offer is inspiration, you know, and share my experiences because their experiences are going to be totally different. And what they're going to be interested is going to be totally different. But, like, I mean, the only thing I can really say is don't give up. And it will come to fruition. Your life will improve and you'll become happier. This episode of the DTFH is brought to you by Cash App.

Starting point is 00:53:25 How about this one? Give up. How about try to give up. Try. Try giving up. Try. Because I do feel like that's one of the, I think a lot of people like us don't realize that we carry in our pocket the fantasy that you can give up. And so we think, you know what?
Starting point is 00:53:46 At some point I'm going to give up on this bullshit and get back to normal life. It's like, go ahead. Give it up. Try. I've tried. You can't. You can't. Once it gets its teeth in you, it's not going to let go.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And you, that's to me one of the beautiful things about it. And we love to imagine, you know what, at some point this dalliance with spirituality and my explorations in the mystical, I'm going to put that book back on the shelf and resume normal life. It's like, shut the fuck up. You can't get out. It's no way out. Once you're in, you're in. It's like the fucking mafia. You're not getting out.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Probably like the CIA. You're not getting out. once you're in you're not getting out but go ahead and try give up do it i'd love to see you give it up just drop or try giving up normal life you can't do that either you know like that quote unquote normal life you know like you can't you can't you know like you can't unless you and even once you've given up what you know like the ultimate unspeakable thing that people do when they when they've given up you're still haven't given up you know there's still you can't it doesn't end So you might as well get on board and do the best you can.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Yeah, get on board, do the best. I remember at one point because I think people, like you were saying, it gets dogmatic. But I can remember one day looking at a trash can and thinking about all the Ram Dass shit. And I'm like, you know what, what if I just throw all this Ram Dass bullshit in the trash? What if I just crumple it all up, all of it, everything, the Bhagavagita be here now, all the aphorism, all of it, all of it. I'm going to crumple up and throw it right in the fucking trash. And that was one of the greatest spiritual moments of my life. I'll never forget that moment because I realize like, yeah, I do it.
Starting point is 00:55:37 Just drop it. Why don't you just fucking drop it? And you should do that. I think everyone should spiritually give up from time to time. Drop it. See what you can let go of. Give it a shot. If it's real, you're still going to be there.
Starting point is 00:55:54 It's you can't get rid of it. yeah the doubt and um you know on unsureity just like all those things those are gifts you know and it keeps you to keep uh inquiring about your by about your true self like what am i doing that's happened to me so many times i was sitting in a camp with a bunch of sados at a festival and i'm like how did i even get here yeah you know like i grew up in like a middle class white neighborhood, you know, went to high school, rode my BMX bicycle to the store. Now I'm sitting around a bunch of guys with dreadlocks down to their feet, smoking chillums, around a sacred fire chanting mantras in the middle of nowhere. And I love it. I'm glad I got
Starting point is 00:56:45 there. Something got me. I didn't like set out for that to be the goal. That's just where I arrived one day. And I think there's a lot to be said about that. Okay, this is what came to mind when you said that. Because you've got me thinking now about dog, dogma and the difference between, like, okay, I'm sure you have. You've been to a good party before, right? That sounds crazy, but you've been to a good party. Quite a few, yeah. You're a lucky man.
Starting point is 00:57:16 I've been to a few, but a good party as opposed to an awkward party, right? A good party stops, it becomes something incredible. Like, you're at this party, you're no longer thinking about where do I stand at this party or all the considerations regarding your relationship with a host or what's going on or anything you want from the, it all goes out the window. You're in suddenly this flow state. It's a great party transcends time space. It becomes something else.
Starting point is 00:57:46 And you don't even know that's happened until the party's over. But when that happens, it's a very special thing, right? that's to me real spirituality. That's what it is. And those sados, when you're seeing them interactor, like when I was in Anaheim and saw the Dalai Lamanist translator, you see the way they're interacting. It's playful.
Starting point is 00:58:06 It's funny. It's sweet. It's very much like, I don't know, they understand what's happening at all, other than they get to be part of this event, this thing that is the path or whatever. Do you know what I'm talking about? That registered with you head out.
Starting point is 00:58:24 That's the Dharma to me, or that's the real Dharma to me, is it's not in the past at all. It's a byproduct of this convergence that happens when there's a certain intent or a right set of circumstances or something. Yeah, it can't be in the past. There's no way it would even work. You know what I mean? Like it has to be now happening in the moment with awareness. Because if not, then, like you said, then you started asking, like, what am I doing at this party? Does this person really like me?
Starting point is 00:58:56 You know, should I even be here right now? Did I say the wrong thing? Yeah. Why are they going to play something good? You know, and all the doubts start creeping in and all of a sudden, what could have been a great party becomes the fucking worst experience of your life. Right. They just want to crawl out of your skin. And, you know, again, just you start unraveling.
Starting point is 00:59:17 And that's what happens when you start. question in yourself. Yeah. Yeah. It's so strange how it's just that simple and that that's the, I mean, I know just calling it a party you, I don't really sound like the stupidest tippy of all time, but it's like, that is kind of the situation we're in right now. And it's just wild how you do, you know, if you're like, this is why I think in Christianity,
Starting point is 00:59:44 it's a wedding. It keeps being referred to as a wedding, right? Yeah. of the veil. It's the, it's, we're all at some kind of wedding situation. I'm not sure exactly who's marrying who here, but there is, what do you think about that? Who is marrying? From the Christian perspective, what the fuck is this wedding all about that we happen to find ourselves at? Have you ever read the alchemic marriage of Christian Rosencrantz? You know this story? It's an alchemic treatise, you know, and this guy gets a wedding invitation. And it's really a
Starting point is 01:00:19 He's really interested at first and he starts regretting it and then he doesn't want to go and then he reluctantly goes and all these things happen to him on the way. He's getting all these messages. Finally he arrives at this at this wedding and it turns out it's it's his marriage and he's marrying himself his true self and it's like a half male half female form. You know, so it's like on and on Ishwara, which is Shiva Parvati same kind of thing like he's he's united. with his true self, the true him. And then all the doubts, all the, all the worrying, all the suffering along the way was totally unnecessary, you know. But it's really beautiful.
Starting point is 01:01:01 And he's like tormented throughout the whole thing before he goes and finally realizes, hey, this is your wedding, buddy. You know, so like, and it's true. What's really being, what, what are you marrying, you know? Is it two people or two spirits or two points of view? and then once once the thing is married, that's when the duality ends and now you have one or three, you know, so. Is it the transcendent with the temporal?
Starting point is 01:01:30 Is that what's getting confused here? I think so. You know, the body and the spirit are becoming one, and then that's true consciousness. It could be anything, but I do like this idea of the left and right. male female the duality we deal with it all the time black yeah good bad all that all those things when those things become one it usually actually becomes three and that's the where the trinity comes in because it's me you and the understanding between us right and that's where you get the pyramids you get chivas trident and all those things when things start happening in the threes it's what's
Starting point is 01:02:11 happening outside of you of the of the relationship either your point of view and what's and reality And then that third thing, which is the truth. And I think that's, you know, that's what the true marriage is, is truth. Well, Robert, I'm glad to be at this wedding with you. Yeah, they were married again. I'm so glad we got remarried. We get married over and over every time we see each other. I love it.
Starting point is 01:02:40 We have to keep getting married. You got anything that I could help you promote on this, not to reduce. our conversation to some kind of promotional intent or something. But what do you got going on, man? What can I plug for you? I play in the music group, Soma, and we've been playing a lot of music
Starting point is 01:02:59 in the last couple of years. We have two shows coming up. December 5th, we were playing with Emil Amos' group, Holy Son. Cool. At the Iyer-pranah listening room in Asheville, North Carolina.
Starting point is 01:03:17 Yeah. Emil said it was his first time playing Asheville, but then somebody in the comment section corrected him, and he'd forgotten. But I think it's the second time playing as Holy Sons in... Wow. Cool. God, I wish I still live there.
Starting point is 01:03:37 I'm really excited for that. I haven't seen him play solo, except for the one time I saw I'm open for you, but it's going to be awesome. And then on December 17th, we were playing with one of the original Krishna Chor bands, 108. No way. We're playing with them at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, December 13th. Okay, guys, December 5th, Asheville, North Carolina, December 17th, Brooklyn, all the links you need are going to be down below.
Starting point is 01:04:09 Thank you so much. I just love to, I love you. I love you so much. I love you so much. Great catching up with you always. Great marrying you again. My betrothed. My pride. Harry Krishna. Harry, Christian.
