Starting point is 00:03:36 Randy? You are unmuted. You are muted. All right. Let me try one more time. Testing. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I am hearing you. Hearing me now? Yep. Yep. Not hearing me? All right. I think you are hearing me, but I'm not hearing anything. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Sorry about this. If you guys can hear us, as always, we get the stone dishes sorted out in the early one and then we're going to go after that. All right, I think I've fixed it. One more time. Yep, are you hearing me? Perfect. Yeah, I'm hearing you. All right.
Starting point is 00:07:07 All right. Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect. So welcome everybody to the early warm of Brick Talk and those are you who are looking out for a video stream. You can wait five seconds and we'll go right into it right now. Boom. Okay, welcome again, everybody. Welcome to this week's Brick Talk. I'm Randy. And before we get started, as always, I'd like to just remind everybody that nothing that said on the show should be taken any way, shape, or form as investment advice. There's no investment advice being given on the show. Dana is the only licensed investment advice on the show. And while he's on the show, he's not acting as an investment advisor, all right?
Starting point is 00:07:58 We're just two people talking about the markets, stocks, things that we like. And anybody who comes on and talks is also covered under that. We're not giving out advice on the show. It's not an advisory show. They'll borrow something just because we talk about it. Now, having said that, Welcome, welcome to this week's Brick Talk, where we're talking about, I think, a great topic. A little forward-facing topic, the face of finance.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Ten years, if you look in ten years down the line, a changing face of finance, actually. This one, I think, is something that is maybe, I don't know if it's topical, but it's something that is ingrained in our lives. need, the banking sector, the finance sector, how it looks, not just in our lives, but also for us as investors on the market, it's a major part of the market, the largest companies on the market historically have been the finance companies, you know, they pull in massive kinds of profits over the years. And that hasn't changed. I think as we speak right now, we'll check a little later, my money, Jay. I think if the largest, the largest company on the market is almost certainly a finance company or company a finance side to it.
Starting point is 00:09:15 So with it being so ingrained in our lives and as we can see right now, maybe a very, very hot topic, it is day one of the nine, of nine days of the Twitter topics. I can tell that people are angry with the finance companies right now. So we thought it's a good time that we could talk about finance, finance companies, from the perspective of investors and the changing face of finance really. Because those of you read the blurb or reading the blurb right now would say I spoke about how things look 10 years ago in the finance space and what you think you'll, what it looks like
Starting point is 00:09:50 no and what you think you look like 10 years from now or even further. Up to you. And as always, we want to hear from everybody. So for the people watching us on YouTube or in the other video platforms, you know, feel free to throw in your comments there. And of course, the best thing that we like is when anybody decides to join. in on a conversation, right? You can join in. If you listen to us on Twitter, just hit the the request to speak button and we'd love to hear from me. We'd love to hear the different views
Starting point is 00:10:20 that people have. We want to hear different views that people have. And yeah, so let's get right into it. We'd love to hear from you. I don't know if I'm any giveaways, but as always, I try to give something nice. Maybe I'll give a my money, JAA discount, maybe on free month of My Money JAA premium to the people who come on. Maybe not the people who come on, but people who have a nice conversation. If we enjoy the conversation, you don't have to know anything great,
Starting point is 00:10:46 but if you enjoy how you saw in whatever through a discount in there, there's all discounts out there, right? So with all that said, how are you doing, Danai, all things this week? All this week. All this will. Nice week on the market. Indeed, indeed.
Starting point is 00:11:01 Quite a nice week. Yeah. I don't know. Is it the matter. The market has gotten, is it me or is it you? I think last, was it was when we're doing, is when I was doing advanced grow, the day before advanced grow,
Starting point is 00:11:18 when you had asked about the market activity and halt information. I remember this is against the background of just, I think the same thing that I kind of, you know, is it in the market kind of just nicer from this year. Especially maybe the last few, I'd say months, week. months. Yeah, yeah, the Mac has been quite interesting. Quite interesting, quite nice. A lot of interesting things and good money to be made. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's how it's
Starting point is 00:11:52 a point. I've been enjoying myself. Yeah. Yeah. And on that hard point, I realize people watching us on video, I thrown up a little ticker that we have at the base of the screen there. And we have a lot of results. A couple of dividends have about at GHL, one of them. And that's going to be something topical tonight, right, in terms of dividends. Cause I won't say because I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like the finance companies, almost all of them, almost all of them pay dividends, right? Yeah, almost all of them.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Most of them certainly pay some sort of regular dividends. And that's a major part of what's happening now, I think. And one of the great ways that people can earn on the market and have earned over the last few years. And of course, the week's halt. So I know somebody that asked me about the ticker as they're seeing it on stream. And a couple of changes have gone into. But yeah, it's nice. I think it's nice to have a nice view of what's been happening on the market.
Starting point is 00:12:58 And it's not just today. So over the last, I think it's since the last thing you'd have heard from us. Everything from last week till now. So nice market. If you were to change with face of finance so, then I, what does it mean to you? I find it a bit funny when we're going to this topic because I think it's very near and there to me because again, I think we are a part of that thing.
Starting point is 00:13:22 But also me in a way where from like the sector, the actual finance sector, I'm an advisor. It's true. We don't have. what I am we don't have much of it. We don't have other individual investment advisors. I would say first of a new batch before I did it,
Starting point is 00:13:41 before I got the certificate, before I got the license, it had been a while. I was long about it. Somebody actually went for something like that, right? So I would say, very much part of the changing face of finance. And after I went for it, quite a lot of people did go for it.
Starting point is 00:14:00 So, yeah. Word. So you have a lot more company, though? You have a lot more company with individual advisors now? No, I'd say not a lot more, but a good amount. Are there 10 in total, no? Not 10, but probably double what it was when I went in. Very close to that if not.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Like six. I was probably fifth and I was probably fifth and in three. About nine now? Something like that. Okay. All right. Well, I mean, good that's that's that's one major part of the change in the space that not just people more options
Starting point is 00:14:39 and we and like when when we we just started doing this when i just came into the sector it was very different right it was still very you talk about us about oh yo we don't say not we don't say the word before it became a bus word democratization right people having options in the market people not the stock market just I'm shopping for finance products I need something to look at my money certain ways then what are exact options we were not necessarily more it's funny we're almost sophisticated mature market there right was since since we've seen a lot to change from the fact that way I would say we popular guys J trader you certainly uh have a lot to do with that I know that I mean I know about J trader from you J trader is one of the things that um that the market that
Starting point is 00:15:36 that um that is yeah not as it's part of democratization of the marketization of the market and I mean yeah but for me for you you see from me but if if I think about it before we started speaking about it on our podcast I mean I remember working at broker at a broker who had offer J trader telling the people out I was saying the people at the broker that yo you know you know of this thing, right, that we sign on to our customers are options and they had no clue about it. And we start speaking about it. And I remember, you, you have specifically said to people, yo, ask a broker for access to this and you told it which brokers have access to it. And we even saw more brokers come online because, yo, wait, people actually asking this.
Starting point is 00:16:19 You're actually using this thing. So I would say we probably, yeah, sure, you heard about it from me, but we popularize it. We push it at a certain degree that no, it's, the given thing where people expect that, oh, I can get access to the trade almost anywhere. True, yeah. So that to me, that's a, so us doing this podcast, people talking about finance from, from the customer side, not just say, oh, I work there and these are my thoughts on whatever.
Starting point is 00:16:51 These are how things affect you. No, we talk about things affect us, right? We are on the customer side. We are a big part of that. I don't think there was no. There was no podcast like this. There was no podcast of, there is no podcast like this,
Starting point is 00:17:05 but there was no podcast from the customer side until we started doing it. That's true. And I'd say even know, I mean, it's us, there's limitless guys. 8,76 are the own thing.
Starting point is 00:17:23 8,76, I think that's, they're active. They were active. But, but I would say, We launched a ship row. That didn't happen before, but I mean.
Starting point is 00:17:35 That's true. That's true. And the other people on the ship with us now, yeah. But the fact is the thing that, that it actually is happening is changing face of finance. That wasn't the case before. That's true. Before it was this random brother on Twitter talking about finance and maybe somebody,
Starting point is 00:17:50 maybe somebody actually asked him what that about. That's true. That's true. That's true. And I know, just bringing it back to that point that you made, no, you have, like, not the democratization part, which is true to the democratization, but the, that major point I think about what it is that you being like an advisor and, you know, you have customers and they have a relationship with literally just you. meaning, well, I grow, I give a lot, I give a deeper example of it. But I said pretty much that, I know knock to anybody here, but I said pretty much that if you are on, if you're in the line at any broker, let me not call it any broker.
Starting point is 00:18:41 If you're in the line at a broker, you get, you reach up to the front and you're talking to them when you say, oh, what we must buy. And you don't say it in those words, but that's what you mean. What should I buy? Where should I put my money? you might even say it in those words say it how you talk but must buy and they and them tell you they're probably going to tell you um separate careers nowadays trans jamaica there's trans jamaica separate careers uh we think of good you know uh
Starting point is 00:19:08 career is great for the for the dividends trans jamaica is you know the people's champion um and that's good not that those are bad picks but we weren't really making picks very right i just mean a bunch of a stock popular stuff exactly and where the difference comes in as i said and i think it's a difference that you help create is that if you listen to the person in in the chair before you they told them trans jamaica career is separate we sinka good now we sinka not going to wear right um if you listen to the person that comes after you they're going to say trans jamaica careeras separate with single single good not going to there's nothing personalized so you want the money to do something specific you're trying to deck your host next year or you know
Starting point is 00:19:58 go far in or i don't know buy bridget's for your girl or whatever um and and and the person behind you is trying to pay for a course two years from now and the person behind them is trying to put together the money for the host deposit maybe in the next four or five years right yet all you get told the same thing same thing it cannot be and and so i think that it it can be that you're told the same thing because that's what happens right that is what happens right um monday morning if the if the brokerage house opens at nine the staff meeting at 830 they said this week the retail the the the stocks that we're pushing are trans-jamaica career and they got the sales sheet for this week and everybody's going to hear that
Starting point is 00:20:53 so it's not that it's good or bad and i think it's bad but it's that there is no individualized help and i and i understand it on some phones right a session with me i was i was accepted that that's just not the service being offered you might feel Exactly. They might, I mean, they might understand for their side that it's not good to say that, but that's the reality. Yes, that is the reality. And from the commercial side, like, I think about what we've seen from them over the years. It more than definitely is that a service. Like, they've had a strong shrinking back on personalization in many aspects. Yes, because at this point is no longer, it's like if they say, I can't believe that they believe it, yeah? Because I mean, I work at the places. I've heard the things they've said specifically speaking to that not being the case.
Starting point is 00:21:53 So to me, that's not way off anymore. Or you're not trying to feel that niche. And I think the niche even existed in the first place because the lack of options generally. So yes. All right, cool. I can make it feel, I can't make it not to feel that way, but they know they've gotten closer to reality on that, on that front. So yeah. Yeah, I think, I think that they haven't, they're closer to reality in that they've just decided, the ones that have decided they can do it are continuing to try it and the ones that, the ones that can't have just made plain, those are you who have since and know what's going to.
Starting point is 00:22:40 no no they've just made the plain decision that you know we're just not going to do it you're just not going to do it and it shows in various ways it shows in like the minimum to open an account here move it up to 50 60 70 right um move it up so that you know less less people i guess the idea is to i don't want to say but i guess if you move the minimum up you are excluding people who can't the minimum it is what it is yeah uh even in the cases where like a minimum where or even like some cases see where the minimum is it's segmented so oh if you're at this level these are the services you can get from us and these are the prices and if you're at this level then these are the price and these are services some some workers are true at that right now
Starting point is 00:23:34 so it's i think we've gotten closer to the reality it's no longer all right i go to the guy and give me the impression and say this is going on but I don't get that from it. More and more it's my boss, I'm just not the guy for you. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:23:50 yeah, yeah. In some ways, that's good. They're not pretending anymore. Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to say, right? But it's reality.
Starting point is 00:24:03 So it's a good, actually, yes, it's just a reality and I think it's a good thing. It's a good thing because for us as investors, people going to you might not think of it is a good thing people but it means that if you go to your broke or no one you think you kind of feel like them say oh you know give me an email and there's an email we send around every week and that's as far as their advice goes the advisory goes
Starting point is 00:24:26 and you feel like yo that's not what that is what they're doing because a session with deny yeah it costs more but is you and deny in that session that's it is you and deny that session that's it is you and then I said even to the point of where he mentioned that oh you go to the broker and me you
Starting point is 00:24:45 me you and have different goals we tell the broker we tell the represent different things and they tell us the same thing I mean
Starting point is 00:24:52 the reality in all the cases there's no telling representing what we're doing it that's not the conversation
Starting point is 00:24:57 we have true it's come to invest what you want or what product you want and the kind of question they hear
Starting point is 00:25:05 it doesn't go to a certain point like the goal even often so like thing that give me a time give me your your level of risk or it or we want investing yeah so that they're asking the client yeah so it's nothing even a matter of yo all right what you want to what do you want your money to be doing it's you want bonds or stocks you want thing there you come to me with way you want investing already or you come and you say we want honestly i i i i want i i i I think I think I'm saying and then I realized that very often it's all right this we
Starting point is 00:25:48 shoe hard into our product more than not not not even stocks you yeah ask us you talk about stocks and you oh my stock unit just true true true because I I know some cases like the some people that some some representatives their their targets are solely based on certain products. So yeah, you do your commission again or you can sell stocks a week. You can sell a bond still a week or the target I'm giving you what you're actually selling is unit trust. So when your review comes around, I'm asking is how much unit trust you have seen that. So, so when if that's my target and I have to see 50 people before I go to lunch, you best believe the 50 you're going to get told to put some money in your unit trust right regardless of your
Starting point is 00:26:44 own situation yeah and so while that's happening at the top end it has created the stocks brother yeah yeah because they're going to take your time up a year ago already when we were sending to the brokers we had we had the happening the theater like it was all right but i don't want i don't want those i don't want those i don't want those things that's true that's true i have a bridging who i had to have a bridging who was doing that who was taking with stock people and thank God he was actually he actually a stock investor he he's somebody I think know the thing you know it would actually care about them whatever so it was good but at the end of the day I could send him to him and could I be with him
Starting point is 00:27:25 mm-hmm I say he was like the stocks guy so he joined that line if you want to buy stocks wow yo you're right in fact I I used to tell people definitely once said which house but you used to tell people, like when you know, you start to not go, open me your brokerage account, open the equities account, I used to tell people to go, and then I also used to tell them, they're going to tell you
Starting point is 00:27:51 no, and can't put you into this unit trust. Tell them no, and tell them that no, you want the stock account. And bonds free up, no, bro. Bonds free up now. So people can go, so people are now getting the bonds, too. I don't know if it free up fully yet. To me, free up
Starting point is 00:28:07 is like a stock line. Meaning. To me, it's free up from the anger. of other is not just certain of our money can go into bonds well yeah well i get yo we said it here on earnings years ago that yo what is it going to take and then if i am i say yo it's probably gonna require like how somebody's going to have to step out and do it and it's probably going to be mayberry um here we are in twenty 26 and it kind of has been mayberry right it's been mayberry that has done it and um you're funny one of the bougie effect you know it's it gets the it's just like it's like real estate in a way i want to buy bonds i want to buy
Starting point is 00:28:44 real estate because i think of it as a rich thing yeah affluence so yeah long term before people's walking and oh you can all that bonds bro you don't have extra amount of money what you mean that's yeah that's just you're not even that those are like oh we don't offer bonds to certain because we own it because your whole bond sell you know you can own it the minimum thing they buy in for a thing there And also, you don't want to come to give in a trouble later, because after two months, three-monthing. Yeah, yeah. If you're, if you're going to break it, like if you break it, you have to get a penalty.
Starting point is 00:29:18 So, if you have to be going. If miss, Miss, Miss Uptown of her three million in bond, in 30 million in bond, then she has said three. And me have said it 10 times. Yeah. You know what you mean? I'm a par and final. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:33 No, no, no, no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Funny enough, it has changed in that one, the people know a lot better now and more people are knowing more every day. We do this every week, like you say, and people know what to ask for. You said thanks to Mayberry pioneering it and the JC doing it and maybe pioneering it, the public bond market is there now. That's a major one. Like, I think the base of
Starting point is 00:30:04 retail finance for Jamaicans is the savings account. From Will you can grow, you hear say you must save you must put money away yeah yeah see some money you can get like a thing and then I think we all know know that you know the savings accounting do make sense right there is little to know interest on it like the interests on our savings account is 1% maybe and the the the fees on a saving account is like 4% so so so there's no money there so what where are the options for the regular man or woman to put their money down for the future, whenever the future is. And I think that's actually the strongest point around the bond in market being public now.
Starting point is 00:30:48 Instead of putting your money in a savings account, you can buy a ban and put the little little money. Maybe I have a bond right now. Exactly. Yeah. Maybe I have a bond home right now. That's free advertising. There's certainly in the pay us to say this.
Starting point is 00:31:01 But I think it's 20 grand. It's 20 grand. Is the minimum? Yeah. I think 30 grand. increments i think so 20 grand and 10 grand increments that's i remember it and you get nine and a half percent every year nine and a half percent every year on it and and it only required 20 grand
Starting point is 00:31:23 it for sure be to save knuckle if you actually if you're actually saving money if you actually want this money to do so then you have you actually have options now versus well that's nothing that's really it And then the twist coming, as you said, so when I told Danai about the topic, he mentioned us. I hadn't thought about us at all in it. I was thinking about the other companies on the market, which we'll talk about, I'm sure. And if anybody want to talk about any financial company on the market, send a speaking request. We'd love to hear it.
Starting point is 00:31:53 We'd love to talk to you about it. But yeah, when Dana had said it to me, I hadn't thought about us at all. I thought about all that, like I said, companies and so on. and the the the the the sorry the point slipped in the far moment no note that I'm thinking about you know from the perspective of retail and what you have one of the great things also I guess we've blown our own trumpet here is that I want the reasons why I still do this is that we have somebody putting a message out there talking to people in the way that they actually talk I don't mean jazz voice right I don't I mean, a little skit them that used to be an RJR where them told.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Zella, you're going down to the clinic. No, you know, your government is given. Not that. Nobody talks like that, right? But like this, the biggest thing I think you can say around this to make people understand is this. A savings account is 1% interest every year. This is 9.5% interest every year. So every year in this is 9.5 years in a savings account.
Starting point is 00:33:00 That is wild. Like it's literally a compression in time. Use two universes. In one universe, you put your money in a savings account. In the other universe, you buy this. Where it takes your nine years to get in that universe? In this, you get there in one year. And it has, well, it's 26.
Starting point is 00:33:23 It's a three-year bond. So you have three nine, 27. This is, and I've been generous to the nine. So this is 30 years worth of a savings account in three years. Chris Berry, if you can ask the people to send us somebody, I didn't want to set up, but it is true, but it is an ad. They didn't really in the pay us fight. But for the Jamaican people, if you don't want to buy any of these, there are other bonds on the market. They're a lot of beautiful thing.
Starting point is 00:33:53 My whole thing is that there's an actual market, you as a regular Jamaican can actually get access to it. it's no longer just a case where you hear about the bonds. You'll be true they were crowded out. I remember when the bond unit trust came, the unit trust launch, anybody was talking about it. They had bond unit trusts. And the big selling point there was that you can actually get access to bonds
Starting point is 00:34:17 because previously you couldn't hit no $20,000, $10,000 put in another bar. And you couldn't do that. They got to a broker and they're like, no, you have to come with milk. And that was the real sea change around the public thing. You know, it's not even, of course, the money is very important. But the facts say, yo, everybody can get in. That first set of Mayberry bonds and they weren't small either. They were like, God, they went up to, I think, 12%.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Mm-hmm. Still better than every other thing, every other thing on the market. In fact, it's so good. It's so good now that if you're thinking about dividends, In best, exactly. Yo, when I, people are saying this, behind the scenes, like when I'm compiling data and I'm looking at dividend information, I have to exclude the bonds. Like, by default, I exclude the bonds in order to compile data that people accept, right?
Starting point is 00:35:17 Because, like, if you want to know, oh, I'll say, oh, the best, like I think right now, I'll confirm it in a little bit, but I think the best dividend on the market. market right now is GHL in terms of yield. I believe so as well. But that's only because I'm deliberately not mentioning bonds. Because everyone needs it. So what's this has actually done is no, I can actually truly compartmentalized bonds versus dividend invested. Because we used to hear people's come with dividends.
Starting point is 00:35:48 They speak about dividend as if you're only getting the dividend, right? You're not actually looking at the equity. at the equity, but then what you've actually found is that people almost immediately look at equity. So they say, all right, cool, I invest for dividends. And they tell you how great this is investing for dividends, but then they immediately tell you how well career as has done as a, as a on capital gates. Or the opposite, they tell you to buy anything for dividends, but then they immediately complain that despite the dividends they've got. the stock is falling. So now,
Starting point is 00:36:31 you have to really, you have to have the reality of dividends. You can't get dividends without factoring in capital gains or losses. If you truly want
Starting point is 00:36:40 to just get an income return, money sent to your account on a certain period, and this is more predictable than dividends because it's a little. Much more.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Yeah. Then you have the bond market as, oh, I'm investing for income. I want to put my money down. I do not want to face the risk of the market,
Starting point is 00:36:56 good or bad. I don't want the possibility of it going upward down to be a factor in my investment. I just want to get paid quarterly or year or half yearly, then the bond market is for you. If you want, if you probably leave in a company, you think you pay it's good in business and there's a good
Starting point is 00:37:14 likelihood for you that, yeah, man, I can get some cap gains on it. Then that's where you're a dividend investor. If you're really thinking, boy, you know, a car without the storm, you know, I also want the money to come to my account. Then you're a bond investor. Yes. Yeah, yeah. Because now you have the auction. Before it was, there's no bonds. You can't buy bonds that
Starting point is 00:37:33 that we have money. I want dividends only. Then guess what I've got to start? It might be good or bad. But you have to look at a long term and get things there. Or you're an activity investor where you're moving around for the dividends and that's much harder than people. People know. I know what I go because people don't do it. it. Everybody that said dividend investors, they don't really see them doing it. Well, there are few.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah, a few, yeah. They are true. They are people that do it. But it's not the wide breadth of people that say that are dividend investors. Very often you find dividend investors behaving like one investors and hoping that it works out better for them.
Starting point is 00:38:14 And sometimes you hear, I mean, some people, they have more sophisticated. They look at it. Okay, I want dividends. And I think these companies are great company that will be worth more weight on the line and then buy it for that but if you want to separate yourself and you say yo i don't really want to see my stock down in five years i don't want it down i don't want to next one when i buy it it's up or down it's down nobody's ever going to see them
Starting point is 00:38:37 don't want to right but if if it can go up it can go though so if you really just want the payment then that's right that's right the bond this way so us having an option has been a big change for the market. Massive change. I was really just saying that to segue into the first personal centre speaking request, Thames, because I do believe Thumbsings is, she'll tell us, but I believe she's at, yeah, I believe she speaks as a dividend investor. So how are you doing Thumbsings? Long time. Hi, Randi and I.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Dividendant investing in. You know what? I'm very well. And good evening to the listeners as well. I think that I'm going to have to get a. off my money, GA, you know, because I just saw a notification that I was down three, is it three or four hundred thousand today?
Starting point is 00:39:28 That's not even funny. That's a lot of money. I'm definitely going to get off of that thing because every day sending me these scary things. I don't know. I looked at it and I saw that I was down. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Yes. You don't want to have a few ways to do it? No. Well, I look at it. I look at it quite often. You know, you don't know. You don't know. You sound like a bad investor.
Starting point is 00:39:48 you don't want to know you can go in these settings and you can go in your settings and turn it off you can you can i think i went into the settings man i tried going into the settings yesterday on the app i think when i saw a bunch because now it's sending me a bunch of um email stuff on my email i'm like it's blocking it it's too many right and i do look at it so so um you would have signed up for them but i understand i understand i understand remember the signal you don't want to see she don't want to see I don't know if I was said so you know that's why that's why it's a very real thing you know it's a really thing
Starting point is 00:40:30 imagine not knowing about it isn't that worse well I don't know because his career as it said drag it down I think careers may have moved from 33 to I don't know where it ended today I didn't check at all
Starting point is 00:40:44 you're really never really side and I loved it. You really have ever read email? I don't know. Email is custom for you. It's telling you about your portfolio.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Oh, but it's a bunch. It's a bunch, Randy. You must agree. It's a bunch. I don't know if it's a bunch. Maybe we can talk about it another time. Suppose it's just one email for your main portfolio.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Oh, it's one email. I should, I'm sorry. So there are two emails. One that tells you about the overall market and another one that tells you, about your personal. My portfolio. Yeah. But I have to agree with Danai. I mean, one, it's something that you want for you. It's telling you how your money is doing. It is actually doing something that, because I designed that email myself, right? It's doing something that I know
Starting point is 00:41:35 a lot of people wanted and needed over the years that they can get. You see, always say that, you know, you're doing the broker and the broker can't stay in 30 or Farton is dealing with you alone, many people want somebody who know about the market to tell them to say, hey, here's all your money stay today. You know, good, bad or ugly. This is how your money stay today. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:41:54 And you just say it on the bad days, but I'll tell you this, the only reason that number looks so big to you today for the down. The car you have a whole little money in career. You can have a whole per money in there. I need to take on. So maybe, right? But, but yes, my money. Maybe you should be buying more.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Maybe you should be buying more when it's down, no, because when you buy more when it's done and it goes on. And you're a dividend investor, that's a better dividend in yield. Better dividend year around there, right? Yeah, I mean. He had some money in your hand and he said, boy, I could have buy it at 33. And he said about 27. That's a better yield than that money.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Boy, I don't have any money in hand, no, to spend because there are lots of things going on on the market that I would like to participate. the move. Yeah, man. Remember, remember where we know, we're at the start of September. So if you go back one month at the start of August, Carreras was hitting all-time highs, 36 per share. Yeah, somewhere there. If on that day, I had come here and say, hey, I have some careers that are going to sell you at 29 a share. You would love that discount, wouldn't you? $29 a share. Yeah, when it was at $36 a share, I said, I'd say, I'd say, I'd, I'd have, I say, listen, I'm going to sell you my career shares at $29 a share.
Starting point is 00:43:17 You would have been happy about that, right? Yeah, yeah, but I think I stopped buying careers years ago. I haven't bought careers maybe in maybe six years or more. Since COVID, I haven't bought careers in COVID because I remember that it was like a 650 at one point. And I said to my husband, you know what? I think that I may buy some more of this thing because. at 6.50 there about
Starting point is 00:43:43 there's no way that you can lose because the dividend is going to be huge and I think that's the last time I actually bought Carrivers. Well, just so you know, the profit from then till now is 351%.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Yes, I can sit on my money, J.A. I can tell her that. I can see it. I can see. Don't make the one day fool you, all right? One day. I can see it on my money. Careers went down today by 5.2%. I used hundreds of thousands losses.
Starting point is 00:44:16 5.2%. You're rich. You're rich. I'm sorry. You're rich. Congrats. 5%? I didn't even realize that it went down 5%.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Imagine that you are complaining on the blessing. Are you kidding me right now? That's blessings. Well, I don't know if I worry much about those things these days. All right. Well, I know. That's a rich life, you know. You're about a money thing.
Starting point is 00:44:40 No, no, no, I'm far from it. I'm far from it. I'm just taking my time to build. That's how I didn't say. No, no, no. I'm taking my time. You know, you and Randy know that I've been doing this for a while. I have been doing this for a while.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Just taking my time. But yes, when I talk about the changing face of finance, I don't know if it has changed that much, or people are just being more brazen. with just the discrimination of other people because I remember when I started at the time I lived in Westmoreland and I went to Montego Bay at the time
Starting point is 00:45:23 I went to Barita you know I had my little money it wasn't a lot and when I stepped into the little building that they had at Go West Plaza at the time I think they've moved now to Amtog I think they've moved to Borg or someplace like that. When Barita was smaller. Yes, when Barita was just on the top
Starting point is 00:45:47 of Go West there beside Go West, on that as a plaza, Bay West, I think. I think there was an NCB bank below it too. And I walked in there and I said that I want to open a stock account. And then this lady looked at me and she said, man,
Starting point is 00:46:03 that kind of money, that little money. Maybe you should just put it in a what? Like a pool fund or pooled fund or something like that and I'm like, no, that's not what I want to do because I went there with this intention, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:20 to say this is what I want to do because I intended to add to each every month and so on. And then she was like, oh well, like if you get dividends from it, it's not going to be much of me as well you put it. And I'm like, no, that's not what I want to do. And then she sent me around the back to the manager at the time. I remember, I won't say her name, but she's a wonderful lady.
Starting point is 00:46:42 And she looked at me and she said, you really want to open this account. And I say, yes, that is why I'm here. I do not want to put my money in the mutual fund. And she said, all right, you have all the papers and so on. And I said, yes. And she opened the account for me. And I remember her making some recommendations at the time. She said NCB and a bunch of other stuff. But I remember. remember NCB because NCB was like at either $28 or $30 something at the time. And she mentioned Kingston Wolves at the time too. I think I did buy into Kingston Wolves. I think that I bought Kingston Wolves at $11 at the time.
Starting point is 00:47:26 She mentioned some other stuff. I don't remember. Kingston Wars is $34 no. So your money? No. But Randy, Kingston Wolves, went to $88 at one point, either
Starting point is 00:47:40 88 or or 87 because I remember selling Kingston Wolves in the 80s. I'm sure of it. And I don't know if you can go that far back, but I sold Kingston Wolves
Starting point is 00:47:58 and I, well, I did make... Out of them high was 85 in 2018. I tell you, it was someplace there that I sold it. I stole Kingston Wolves in the 80s of dollars and I bought it for $11 at the time I think I love that story
Starting point is 00:48:18 I wish more people had a story like that Oh right And I bought Kinson Woff And I bought a few other stocks at the time Because I didn't have a lot of money I think that I may have had like 60,000, 67,000 At a time to be specific
Starting point is 00:48:35 And when I went in there They were just like This money is too small but she opened the account for me and i bought the stocks and man that kingston was went up and from there i was convinced that this investing thing can actually work that's how i started so when you're talking about the changing face of finance and so on it's not really changing that much it's just that the brokers now are more brazen they will tell you that your money is not not good enough for certain things.
Starting point is 00:49:08 It's not even a joke, but these things have been happening all along. But maybe they never said to you that you have to be a certain class or a certain working a certain amount per month and so on. But at a time, I had a government job. But I just didn't have a bunch of money. I had a government job. So I was getting my monthly salary and so on. So maybe that's why she saw that.
Starting point is 00:49:32 Maybe she can afford to put some in there. and she asked me at the time how much I was willing to put per month. And I think I may have said 20,000 at the time. I think I may have said that. But that was years ago, right? And so because I said that I could put that amount at the time. She said, okay, let's open the account. I remember that.
Starting point is 00:49:59 So it is not just a thing where it is no, they're saying that you can't. open unless you're a certain nithroot. It's a long time ago because back in the day is rich people who also own stocks, you know? And one of the things that fascinate me back in the day was how people who had money, they never worked. And I said to myself, why are these people never working and they have all this money? And I said, man, they must be doing something that I'm not doing. And of course, I was doing my little reading and so on. And I started to read more about stocks and listen to Owen James, and I had like
Starting point is 00:50:41 listening to it every night. Now I started listening to this thing because these stocks were going up and down. And I didn't understand much about it. But then I started buying the glean at the time and getting information from that as well. Because of course, I lived in rural, rural Jamaica at the time. we weren't like in the city or anything like that. And since then, it's a real thing when we look and we say that people are still afraid to invest. Because I have lots of brothers and sisters.
Starting point is 00:51:11 And none of them have opened an investment account to this date. And I have, well, for me, I don't live in Jamaica now. But even though when I call them, I'd be like, okay, when I come to Jamaica, we're going to open an investment account. And they would hide from me on that day. And I'm not even kidding these people. And it's not just them. You do have a lot of people now who are apprehensive. They do not want to do this thing because they do not understand it.
Starting point is 00:51:37 So for the most part is education, right? We have to educate ourselves and some of the things happening now on YouTube and so on. That's actually pretty good. Pretty good for the financial space, right? Pretty good for the financial space. Yeah, people talking more about it. you giving this story is is giving a lot of people a lot of a lot of hope and a lot of um a lot of just that guide you know because i understand because believe it you you see how you say how
Starting point is 00:52:14 she asked you do i want to if this take a bit of money there are people who would have heard that and it would have shamed them and they wouldn't do it right right shame shame shame was not on my face on that day because I did everything that I had to do. I got my daughter's tiarin because you have to go to the top office weeks before to get this T.R. and number for this child on a piece of paper, right? It's not even a real T.R. It's just on a piece of paper. And I did all those things and I took it on that day because I said to myself,
Starting point is 00:52:45 you know what, I'm going to open this account. Right? So it is not everyone who would have been so persistent. It depends on people though, right? so this thing has been going on for a long time has been going on for a long time yeah the way to do it is to is to is to do what we're doing really that's part of what we do this to talk about like i every every week that we have these conversations there is someone out there who for them learn something yeah man or are this is the the the push for them to go and try it yeah you get me um and that's why
Starting point is 00:53:23 That's also a large part of why when the nine are starting is, and people are saying, oh, you know, short term, short term, short term. Part of why, I didn't mind the idea of the short term tag. Because most people are, you want to meet people where they are. Yeah. Yeah, you want people need money in the long term. People need money for years in the future. Well, people also need money tomorrow or next month or whatever.
Starting point is 00:53:47 And if that's what can get them into it, then I can get them into it. Exactly. What? short term. Imagine telling somebody that, yo, you only have 10 grand to invest. And you are going to tell them to put up that 10 grand for 20 years.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Right? The reality is, people are, most people in that situation are not looking for that, I think, it's funny. It's a well-studied conundrum in finance, right? You'd think that, you know, the people in the sector would acknowledge
Starting point is 00:54:20 that it's well-studied that, you know, people are, people of law means are not able to make certain financial decisions. That is true. That is true. That is true. I'm not saving myself by thinking 10 years on the line. I need to need food next year.
Starting point is 00:54:43 The money I'm putting forward is something that I might just need to get back very quickly or before Mr. 10 million who, the reason I'm investing 10 million. for 10 years, it's because I'm a 10 men for tomorrow already. It's a mindset. Don't I? Because no one wants to wait for gratification. It has to be no, right? It has to be no.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And I think it's a matter of... My point really is that some people do not have the luxury of that. Yes, that is true. That is true. You can't tell a man with 10,000 to go put it on for 10 years. before you can't touch his body
Starting point is 00:55:25 long-term. When he took months to get the $10,000 together to open that account, if he wants to get that $10,000 together, what do you think when any shock happens for him?
Starting point is 00:55:42 Or the Kari, even if he takes him, take him to school. He needs it right away. Yes, what? That 10,000 is being called immediately. Because he doesn't have 10,000 do that to that other thing. so yes but i think a lot of it is yeah a lot of it is education a lot of it a lot of it is just education just people are you wouldn't realize or imagine how i wouldn't want to say uneducated
Starting point is 00:56:14 but um financially illiterate like okay let me not say illiterate but people it's not a bad word It's not a bad word, but you wouldn't even understand how people don't know their money. I would. I would. I would. You think that I could be working so hard for my money and I don't know how it's going to go. Like, I'm counting every penny of it. I'm counting every penny of it. Let's be serious. Most people, even though most people don't know their money. Most people, most people, most people investing in stocks don't know their money right now most people who have the investment path or the insurance policy have no idea go most people have no idea how their pension has performed the whole time they've had it just don't have a pension or if they have a pension they don't know how much is in the pension they don't
Starting point is 00:57:08 much they put to the pension something the same thing you just said to us oh you know often I hear that story of I saw how much I saw how my portfolio is doing I don't want or I don't check what my portfolio is doing. I've seen that one. And that aversion, you have it now, but I know you, I know you generally check your tracking investment. You have a whole YouTube doing that. A lot of people, they have
Starting point is 00:57:33 that idea that I don't want to know what's going on. And then it hits them hiring it when time comes. Yeah. And then oftentimes they find out, well, maybe they don't find out, but part of why we do this. Yeah, if you're 100,000 10, this stock is down. Yeah. But what I realize
Starting point is 00:57:48 that a lot of times, the stock was up and doing great. You just didn't know. So that's part why my money J exists so that you can know. And then also even you have my money J you don't know why you think you get those emails. There are lots of people who bought Transjamaica at IPO and have not looked at it again. They don't even know what happened. So they hear the noise about Transjamaica and the first time they realize say, oh my hundred thousand is actually 1.1 million now. and yeah and i've seen so much of that story of i can tell you often i have a client that we set a goal we we say all right this is what we're doing for x a month of time and they hit it early or they hit it on
Starting point is 00:58:32 time and they just never they just never checked to sell that stock or whatever because either they don't they don't have that idea that it should be checking or they're avoiding it so when the time come now you should have get the money you're looking for you can find you don't have it well oh you say I missed that and the thing I was looking for happening and gone already so now
Starting point is 00:58:54 and everyone know it was up right and everyone all hit my own yeah you're too old old at that time to to start working again for it I just guys I just did a little video I just did a little video on my little
Starting point is 00:59:08 YouTube channel I think I have about a hundred subscribers or a little more I'm not doing it for subscribers or anything I'm just doing it you know, to remind myself of what I'm doing along this journey. So I recently had a little, let's talk, topic about the cost of certainty in investment. Oh, I like that. And I think it's a real issue because most people, when they're investing, they want to know, because I look at certainty on a continuum because it's not just one thing.
Starting point is 00:59:43 You know, I look at it along the lines of from ignorance to absolute certainty. And I think that one of the things is that a lot of persons, they want to be absolutely certain that this thing is going to happen before they start investing. So I call it the cost of certainty, because the cost of certainty to me is just an opportunity cost or an example of an opportunity cost. Our risk. Where? Yes. I read there a great episode of early season talking about that. Or knowledge was a lot of.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Yeah. People want to do, people, people, people, people, people want to bet. I don't know the thing. I want to know the thing. Yes. Right. The thing actually happened before they actually. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:33 But for me, for me, there's a huge cost to this certainty because I feel that the more certain you are, the less money you're going to make. Or the more the thing is going to cost. reward that is exactly totally of course i wish i wish i listened to me all those times and i was begging you to come to grow i wish it listened to that because i can't literally teach that there where it's exactly as you say the more certain you are is the less uh yeah is the less there's there is yeah the less right right right so like bonds we're just talking about bonds um it is almost certain that that MJ is going to pay this 9.5 percent every single year
Starting point is 01:01:11 you're like 9.5% you secured it to make sure that money will be there which is why you will only make 9.5% on it meanwhile MJE it is not certain where that
Starting point is 01:01:29 share price is going to go which is why you're able to buy the shared price buy the shares at prices that are currently someone would say so cheap And also why you have the flip side of the risk, which is it could go up, it could go up phenomenally.
Starting point is 01:01:48 Right. It's at $6.00. Right. Holding shares that are worth $8.40. Right. The 29% more value in the thing known already. But you don't really know the share price is going to go. So the share price is so low.
Starting point is 01:02:02 So you can make more than 9% on the share price. Right. And you can, because you can also lose more than 9% on the share price. But the bond is. so um certain that um yeah why would i give you more than nine percent and and bonds specifically are graded uncertainty yes the less certain the companies of paying then the more return you are you you the more return is offered to you from the thing there from the bond so okay i'm giving it 12 percent because guess what may not have a secure nothing uh so i don't have a
Starting point is 01:02:35 market of stock out of the cash right there i just believe that enough business will come my way that i can pay you every three months so i'm giving a 12 person i'm giving you a 13 person but the guy that has his company his business already is at a level where he can pay it if if push comes to show and he money isn't coming and you can sell something and think that very easily like that yeah then i'm giving a 9% which is very close to the the bank rate the rate i get at bank so Yeah. You're almost absolutely certain in my view that you're going to get your 9.something percent. So you're not going to get anything else. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And one of the, and some of the discussions around Transjam has kind of led me to, to talk about that because, because I was listening to you guys a couple of weeks ago and you spoke about. whether transjamb going to get the Montego Bay
Starting point is 01:03:40 Leger the highway to operate and so on, right? And you had some discussions online about whether transjamb is going to go to $20 after that point. But I am saying that at this point, Basin, and I did go back, I think Learn Grow Invest, he did a video, well, he did another interview with um with anderson is his name Anderson the CEO of trans Jamaica the CEO of trans jam yeah I think his last name is Aaron Arol Arol Anderson I think
Starting point is 01:04:18 Aero or Iwan no it's Ivan it's Ivan it's Ivan okay so so um after the AGM I listen to you guys and I've listened to all the interviews um with Ivan and the last one he did with him I think that that one kind of struck me because in the age him he did mention of them maybe in talks or something like that with the government to get that leg of the highway but in the age in that interview he expected to said that they did not have any rights to it and that they are basically just going to see
Starting point is 01:05:04 how it is right but then persons are still looking to say that chance jam may go to $20 and I'm like at what point is chance jam going to go to $20 so well two one of two things can happen
Starting point is 01:05:22 we can sit and wait at this 11 and say, okay, Transjam is going to go to $20 because they're going to get that leg of the highway. Sorry, $10.10 and 36 cents. $10. Well, $10. I wouldn't prefer to $1.00. That's why you never had the email today. No, right? It wasn't Transjamb.
Starting point is 01:05:46 No, no, it wasn't Tracham today. It was transjamb yesterday. Today was career. I'm trying to make a weeker beating today though yes I know I know I know I know but I'm not worried I'm not okay it's beating large than the Transamer beat in Transamer fell today by two and a half percent but career is a double five percent yeah but that's just opportunity you're supposed to know that that's just opportunity yes it's just opportunity It is just opportunity. But then I've been saying that are we going to wait until we're absolutely certain that
Starting point is 01:06:28 trans job is going to get that leg of the highway. When they say, okay, we have signed an agreement with the company and this is the amount that we expect to earn from that leg. Is that when people are going to buy? Because that is when you're almost absolutely certain that they're going to get that leg. Or are we going to buy no when along that continuum, in my view, maybe it's just at 5. 5 out of 10 because we're not sure.
Starting point is 01:06:54 We are just in the middle. I would say that we're in the middle. Five out of 10. Believe me, I think that right now, we're just in the middle and we are not sure whether they're going to get it or not, based on the discussions and what and the little research that have done. You also are choosing to hope that they're going to get the road
Starting point is 01:07:18 that they have the, they had the gave up. Yeah, they had the rights to and they gave. No, no, no, 50% is not high hopes. 50% is, um, you heard what I said, though. Like neutral.
Starting point is 01:07:30 They had the, they had the rights though. They had it, you know. Yeah, that's what you're saying. And, and, um, how did they, well, they didn't lose it. They must have said, okay, um, we're not going to secure
Starting point is 01:07:46 that right. They get, they allowed it to lapse. They gave it up. for free. Right. I know you believe that they're going to get it back? For free? No.
Starting point is 01:07:59 Well, I'm not exactly saying that I think that they're going to get it back. I said out of 10, I would say they're about like at 5. Who do you think also has a 5 out of 10 or more chance of getting it? 5 out of 10. 5 out of 10. It would be, they are in North South Highway. as another chance. Yes, the Chinese company.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Who also built the road? Well, they were contracted by Enrock to build the road. Like, they don't own the road. So, yes, it's still. Yes. That's true. Right. And then no.
Starting point is 01:08:40 There could be a third party. That's what I'm saying. There could be a third party who is willing to pay, maybe more, to get this leg of the highway because they think it's a cash cow. or the government could keep it for themselves because they need this revenue. They are seeing. I mean, this is the government keeping it. A government keeps it by, it's not really giving up the highways.
Starting point is 01:09:03 They're giving up the concession for the highway. Yes, yes. It's almost certainly going to be handing it over to another party. Yeah. Another party. Yeah, but I don't believe, I don't believe that it's going to be Trans-Gamaker who gets it. But I, hey, for everybody's sake, I hope I'm wrong. And honestly, even if I don't get it, it's no big deal.
Starting point is 01:09:27 There's still a whole, if you understand, if you, like, one of the things, another thing just to bring it back the topic, talking about finance and within the retail investor space, finance in Jamaica, is that we know have much more, we have many more options in terms of understanding and research and what people can hear. and you can put forward. A lot of people have learned a lot more. Part of the research has done would allow you to know what the whole plan is for all the highways in Jamaica.
Starting point is 01:10:04 There's a lot of space between that road and where Trans-Jamaica is where the highway ends. The highway isn't intended to end. It's intending to circle entire island. So at some point, yes, because there is one. Most is a piece. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:20 Yes, there is one other. and the long hill bypassed. The last time I went there, they were far, far along with that. I think it has gone to Montpelia now, and I hear that they're going to join that piece at Montpelia and take it through the bushes.
Starting point is 01:10:37 I guess they want to go to Mandeville with that or so on. So I do think that. And there's also, like I said, if you go into the plan, I'm generalizing here, but the island is meant to be circled. So.
Starting point is 01:10:50 Yes. If you think of where Trans-Gamaca ends currently and you think of where that Mobey Road ends, there's a lot of, there's steps, you can do the research. So I'm not counting on the pandemic. And the truth is in a great place regardless. It's just I don't like when the expectations get too high without anything behind. Due diligence, right? Due diligence.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Because of the level of disappointment and the reality. to that disappointment. Yeah. That's why the second, as you quoted, the second I heard it, I asked a person who said it, what exactly did the CEO say? And anybody who listened to this would have heard the information first, heard of clarifying information immediately because he didn't say that. That's a lot of wishful thinking.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is good if you're able to predict it and act on it in the shorter. Yeah. Yeah. But if you actually want to be serious about your money, you need to be able to pick out wishful thinking from reality. Yeah. All right. So then Transjan may continue around the south into Negro,
Starting point is 01:12:06 and then the north-south highway people, the Chinese people may continue around the north to the south. So it could be that way. It could be half and half, right? No, I think they'll... You may never know. I think the plan is... Like, you can go and look it up.
Starting point is 01:12:19 There's plans. they're going to cut across the mountains if they haven't already that is, and come down and eventually all of the road, if I remember correctly, all of them should be connected in some ways. Yeah, I think they've cut across some of the mountain already. I've seen not,
Starting point is 01:12:35 them doing some work. So that will happen. But for us as investors, we're still on it, one of the things that we'll have to do, as you hear that I was saying earlier, you know, is democratized the space,
Starting point is 01:12:46 right? So we are in there, but the side effect for that is that we have responsibilities. and part of responsibility that we have is that we have to be careful and accurate about what is that we are expecting. So it's not to be disappointed financially.
Starting point is 01:13:01 And then you'll be able to... All right, I'm not going to keep you guys longer. I'm just going to ask you one question because I think that you may be avoiding talking about it. Is it just me or did somebody buy elite? Is it just me wishfully thinking that somebody bought elite?
Starting point is 01:13:22 Or was elite sold? What are the people three? Why? What happened? Well, there's a bunch of things that happen. I have been looking. Well, my manager is a wonderful site. I can tell you that.
Starting point is 01:13:36 I think we'd say the same. I've been looking and, well, I've been looking for a certain company to buy a small cap company. to get onto the market and I've been looking since January but I was not looking well I've been just been looking at
Starting point is 01:14:02 small cap companies but then I noticed that I noticed that the companies that I was and that I was looking at there wasn't anything happening with them I was looking for somebody to buy Go West G West
Starting point is 01:14:23 because I think that there is a just G-West It's a waste of listing. I don't know. The weight of listing, right? It's never a waste. The thing you just said is why it's never a waste. It's a part of why it's never a waste.
Starting point is 01:14:41 Yeah. Somebody else can buy. Never a waste. And that's what I've been thinking. So I've been thinking that some other company in order to get onto the market would buy a small cap company. And I've been looking at my money, to see which company
Starting point is 01:15:00 has been his arm has been changing hands but I have not been seeing anything and then I'm like is this a joke so is he not going to try to get onto the market that other person right
Starting point is 01:15:14 but then I saw because I don't have any inside information I saw a notification I saw a notification that like 81 million shares of
Starting point is 01:15:33 elite was sold I guess that that would have been NCB you know what I probably don't get too deep into this tonight I'm just asking I'm just asking if you're not avoiding you know I'm just asking
Starting point is 01:15:49 if I'm the one only one who's seen that elite has been sold has been sold has been sold is a very interesting because guess what when I saw when I saw but I haven't bought enough of it yet
Starting point is 01:16:06 but it is okay I still would like to get some more what did you see so I went so I saw the notification that 81 million shares has changed hands right
Starting point is 01:16:23 and when I went to my money GA and I look at the um shareholdings. I noticed that the only two people who could do that would have been NCB with 66 million and then Damien Chinu with another 14 million. Right? And so then I started looking further and I'm like
Starting point is 01:16:48 this is interesting because maybe this is the company that is going to be bought for that person to be able to come onto the market. Maybe it's not going to be because I've been looking at all the small cap companies for a while and I couldn't see any changes that would make sense. I'm looking at these companies since January. I'm not even kidding. I went to Myanmar J and I said, look at all the small cap companies under a billion dollars and then I got a few, right? Oh, you mean you spoke to the AI? Why you're really used to Miami-J-H?
Starting point is 01:17:22 No, I didn't speak to AI. I just went to the... Filter. Market cap. Okay, okay. Yes, I do something on the market cap. And when I went further, I looked at, Randy, there's one thing that I need to ask you, though, because in my research, I noticed that where you have, where you have, what did I call it again,
Starting point is 01:17:47 I needed to have that so that I could ask you. No, no. So we have the heat map. the heat map is basically showing the number of trades it's not showing the quantity of trades so like but when you hover over it it does tell you the volume right but then i have to click on every single day to see which the thing was sold or bought so then i'm like just look on the if well for those of the people who are seeing this on a screen the same chart that shows you the price movement has the volumes on it has the volumes on it has the
Starting point is 01:18:23 Yeah, I'm seeing it on the screen. I'm seeing it on my TV. It has the volumes on it. So. What volumes? When you hover over it? Yeah, when you hover over it, every day shows it, but you can see the volumes right there. You can see which.
Starting point is 01:18:37 Oh, when I hover over mind, it doesn't show I have to basically click on that day. Like literally click on it. I'm talking about the price. Just the price. Just the first charity you see on that page. Just look on the graph. Just look on the graph. It has, it has every single day has the, um,
Starting point is 01:18:53 spikes showing the volumes. And this one is not showing as much because that 81 million days so large that it causes everything else to be hidden. Right, right. And another stock, it would, it's very, it's right there behind. They're both on the same stuff, on the same chart, sorry. The chart that shows you the price also shows you the volume. So you can just eyeball it. The black bar is relative to everything.
Starting point is 01:19:17 So this day was so big. Okay, but Randy, what am I doing with the information? as to the number of people who traded the stock on that day? Like, what information is that telling me? I don't know. You tell me. What do you mean? It's not telling me anything. I'm like, you're talking about on the heat map. Yes, on the heat map I'm talking about. But that's why I'm saying that instead of having the number of people who traded,
Starting point is 01:19:45 if you would have the volume being the redder one or the one that is brighter than that would basically. I would want it. I think the way it is the better way. Some things, you know what? I agree with that I. Just for you, I'm going to do. Just for you. They're going to change the heat map because guess what?
Starting point is 01:20:07 No. So here's the thing. Here's a thing. Right. So this is also an educational moment for people. I mean, all data is good. All data is good. All data is good.
Starting point is 01:20:16 All data is good. So it's a matter of what you're looking for. What people often do, and it's a pet peeve of mine, they conflict volumes. with activity. Yep. So you'll say, yo,
Starting point is 01:20:28 you're here about 100 million. Two people can trade a hundred million in one trade. Right. So that doesn't tell me anything.
Starting point is 01:20:36 When I want to know how active a stock is and which stock is most active, it is the trades that matter. Because me,
Starting point is 01:20:49 I trade with Danide and I trade with you, then I trade with Jason, and I trade with, trade with Tav, then I trade with Jane, that is more activity. Even if it's, so let's say I do a thousand shares with all, with all five people, right? Five thousand trades. That's more activity because there are five people that are coming to the stock.
Starting point is 01:21:10 Versus if I do a single trade with Danai for a hundred thousand, most people look on it and they go, 100,000 and they look more favorably on the 100,000 than the 5,000. But the $5,000 to me is more important because the $5,000 indicates that five people wanted to buy the stock and got through. To me, it's also a more realistic variance. Yes. If the one day trade. Yeah, well, I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. The one day where the many units trade, there's a reason that those many humans cannot move other.
Starting point is 01:21:44 So it's not, it's not actually significant as a relative to the other days. if you're really looking for activity. Because the reality is, I made a deal with this guy. I mean, like you, Randy, and I'm selling my shares. I'm buying 100 billion shares from it. And we're not going to make that activity again for a while. Yeah, that's it. That's it.
Starting point is 01:22:05 For years. And that doesn't actually say anything for what the market is doing more than in the back room. Okay, it's only this time. It's actually a side effect of what has happened in the industry over the years. because so many people in industry have not known, and they've just repeated it blindly, and it's also what gets reported on the news.
Starting point is 01:22:28 You listen to Kalila, if it's to any of the business, you want to tell you X amount of volumes and as if it's good. Volumes are good on their own, because all data is good. But the volumes don't, it just tells me that,
Starting point is 01:22:41 okay, this one's volume has moved, but it don't really tell me that there's actual activity. The real, the real activity, the real marker of sensible activity, is the number of people. The number of trades.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Not necessarily the number of people, the number of trades. And it is a better proxy for the number of people than volume is. In fact, volume in the case is the worst proxy for the number of people. Because as you can see, as August 28th shows us for, for that elite. 81.8.8.1.81.3 million units traded on that day. But on that day, there were, well, it was also a hot day in terms of trades. There were 26 trades.
Starting point is 01:23:26 In fact, let's look at the whole year to that point. It is the biggest trading day for that year. But it's only because there are actually a lot more trades on that day, not the volume. The volume is a misnomer, but it's misplaced attention. So it's one of the things that's deliberate. Okay. okay okay um what people ask for this and i tell you something that i do for business sake for the sake of business sometimes yeah i just change it to volume i wouldn't change it to volume because
Starting point is 01:23:59 i do respect the small amount of people who would know and want to know and would want to understand so what i do is what i may do here is i might give you a little toggle you can toggle volume or um that's what i was thinking that's what i was thinking but again that's what i was thinking that I could switch from one to the other. That's what I was thinking. Not to take it off completely. But it's just because this was significant to me yesterday. I actually...
Starting point is 01:24:29 The graph does it. So that's what I say into your thumbsings. If you look on the... Yeah, I got to go through. The part of the graph that has the bar, the highest bar is the day with the highest volume. So both of them are there. All right. So I'm assuming that who...
Starting point is 01:24:46 Um, whomever wanted to purchase would have purchased already or the price is out of range now anyways. Unless people want to buy it for a dollar what? Is it a dollar? $1.80. It's $1.65 today. But what do you mean by the price is out of range? No, like, um, if you go, oh, well, do you have the trade thing at the far right there?
Starting point is 01:25:10 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 01:25:15 I think the offering price was like a dollar 90 something. Yeah, the cheapest anybody is offering it right now is $1.93. Right. And the most anybody's bidding for it right now is $1.54. So there's a bit of a... There is a gap. There's a nice gap. There's a nice gap.
Starting point is 01:25:39 But I'm wondering if the people who wanted to buy have bought already because I don't know if people have inside the information. because I don't, I'm just going off a supposition. So then I looked again. I followed it and on the 3rd of August, 8 million shares were traded on that day. And the only person who had 8 million shares was wasting these radiology. I looked again and on the 6th of July,
Starting point is 01:26:12 31.5 million shares traded. and the only person who had that many shares is the JCSD services plus a little more, I guess, was traded in addition to that. So here's a little thing. So I like one, I like the way you're doing. And I can bring it back on topic. You see what you're doing? And I and I used to do this stuff a couple years ago. Before I knew then I was doing it on my own.
Starting point is 01:26:44 it used to be extremely difficult to do. Meaning, if somebody wanted to do this, especially if you're not a finance person, you're already daunted. And even if you are a finance person, you're kind of daunted and you have to, you have to all over the place. What are the beauties of what we have,
Starting point is 01:27:09 the face of finance zone is that there is my money. It's out there. That is true. For people. Think about how easily, as you are telling those things, I simply just clicking on the days. I just, I was clicking on the days and I'm. You can just bring that up. So being able to tell the breadth of information that's out there for retail investors, no,
Starting point is 01:27:28 is not a joke. It's a powerful thing. And it's something that I hear. And anybody's listening for years as heard me say, like I do these things deliberately to try and empower as many people as possible. Because this is one of the few things where more people getting into it, more people knowing it, more people doing it doesn't hurt us. It helps us, right?
Starting point is 01:27:47 It don't hurt me to see Elite and to join you out with the wondering if Elite has been bought. That's what you're saying. It is, I can understand why you'd be wondering it. I don't know if you have it all, right, but I will say that that last set of trades on the 28th of August does, is of a size that only two entities could do it. As you said on the 28th of August, only two entities could sell this much. And that's another thing too.
Starting point is 01:28:23 Most people just hear, like if you're watching the news that day, you hear $81 million traded. But if you use my money, you can tell that actually is two different trades, right? There was a trade that, there was a huge trade that actually was 66 million shares traded first.
Starting point is 01:28:43 But the big part of it was 65. million, 65.9. And then a few minutes later, a few seconds later, actually, well, about a minute and a half later, 14.5 million units traded. So 80.5 million units traded in all. If you're just looking at the big ones, right? And then if you look at the top 10 as you've been doing, it might be Excel investments or it may be somebody who collected NCB cap market's stick. So maybe somebody bought it from NCV cap markets. Who knows? That's what you think. So your supposition is that someone has purchased Elite or at least purchased. The majority shares. I think that so for him to have acquired half of it, he would need 175 million shares.
Starting point is 01:29:37 And I think that he would probably need some of, um, was that first one, Excel? To help him with that. Him? Yes, him. Who is he? Yes, that was my question. I was waiting to ask. Yes, I'm just making up a person right now.
Starting point is 01:29:57 Okay. You don't sound like you're just making up a person, well, okay. He's so, he's so like, he's not making up a person right now. He's very specific. He's on very specific. Well, when you talk to him, ask him if he has bought, if he has bought it. I'll tell you, I'll tell you, I don't know that Excel investment stake. has been sold. I don't think so either. But it could be, it could be in the makings.
Starting point is 01:30:22 Or, or maybe someone bought, uh, maybe someone bought Barnett Limited, Western Israeliology and, um, the NCB cap market stick. Who knows? Maybe it's, maybe it's, I don't see Barnett been sold yet. I, I, I just picked something that was in the range. Okay, okay. Why don't you see Barnet being sold, though? Because I didn't see it in the trades unless it's after. Oh, because you're looking for a 15.5, yeah, 15.5 in one go.
Starting point is 01:30:58 Yes, so I did see JCSD, well, I assume it's a JCSD 1 for 31, and I did see Damian Chinu, I think, that he's a 14, and then NCB would have been a 606. 14.513, exactly. Yeah. And then West Indies radiology. would have been the $8 million. I think that he's pretty close.
Starting point is 01:31:19 Okay. Again, him, you think he's pretty close. Why when he says she? Are they? It's not no she. Are they? Because you know him. Yes, I know him.
Starting point is 01:31:30 I'm making me off in my head. She knows a person. No, I'm just hoping that is the person because I've been, I've been rooting for him. I want him to succeed. So I'm hoping it's him. I don't know what. though. Is the person...
Starting point is 01:31:45 Move on. Let's move on. No, no, no. Here's my question. You won't tell you who it is, but I just want to say, is somebody who's on the market already, or they'd be entering the market for the first time? It's somebody we all know who is not new to the market. Not new to the market.
Starting point is 01:32:03 Right. I don't know who you're talking about. Yes, all right. I'm just thinking that that's the way to get on without going the other route. I think the other route was being taken. because other root is... Because the other route is...
Starting point is 01:32:17 Because the other route not good. No, no. The person tried the other route? That's a yes. The answer is yes. So, did you buy me? Did you buy the elite time than I? Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:32:34 Did you buy me? Yeah, I did buy some, but not as much as I would have liked. Well, it's for sale, you know? You can get $5.94 right now. No, so? it's not that's not a sale that's a that's a premium
Starting point is 01:32:49 I mean okay okay okay okay so what happens if the what happens if the
Starting point is 01:33:05 if the notice comes out that someone has acquired an associate stake in the entity and well the way you're talking you're saying that this person is going for over 50 percent of it. So they're taking it. I would think so. You don't have to take it over. Nobody owns it. I shouldn't say nobody owned it, but the ownership is spread. Yes, it is so. So at 20, yeah, yeah, at just just the cat market
Starting point is 01:33:29 stake, you already have heavy talk. The number one shareholder is 24%. You are at 18% you're the number, you're the number two shareholder. You have a significant amount of talk. And if you get the significant, If you go with the cat market stake and the, you said Damien Chinu, and you also said West Indies Radiology. No, we're looking at 25. You're over 20%. You're more than the number one shareholder. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 01:33:55 I would be. Let me see how much I would be. Those three stakes is 25.05%. My money, J.A. tells you. If you click on the stakes, it adds that for you. But then why did I add 2.2? and 4.9. Who?
Starting point is 01:34:11 Or 4.9 would be... You meant 4.39.9. Barnet Limited. Oh, did I put... Why did I add Banet? Because I think that it was a state that could be acquired. Maybe that's why I don't combine
Starting point is 01:34:28 to my list here. But yes, you're right. It would be 18 and it would be 25. Right. It could be over it. It could be over it by now. okay so um so when i added all the stake um minus minus excel it would be 34.2 3 mm-hmm which is a top stake yes it would be a tough stake but would wouldn't you want more than that to be in control of your company i don't know control is that very funny thing you
Starting point is 01:35:05 not more than that. Control doesn't necessarily require, if you could control the company with less, without spending more than that, would you? I would want a little more, I think. I'm not saying, no, I'm not saying knowing it's just, control is not what people often think. You can control is a very, true control.
Starting point is 01:35:28 Think about the most advanced markets in the world. The more advanced the market gets, the lower level of, effective control becomes, right? That is true. Bezos doesn't own 50% of Amazon. I don't think he owns 20. I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:35:46 Yeah, right? But the public owns, like the public would own 22.6% Randy. In elite? Yes, that's what the public would own. But then you could acquire
Starting point is 01:36:00 a half of that overtime as well. Maybe. Okay. But then that is why I have my cost of certainty, because I'm not certain. I am maybe 7 out of 10. But 7.7. What are you certain about exactly? On him having acquired it.
Starting point is 01:36:29 Knowing, yes. I see. And him having acquired it. how do you feel if somebody else? How do you feel if it's somebody else? Right. Somebody else? Like whom?
Starting point is 01:36:43 There are many people in Jamaica. That is true. That is true. I am not there, but there are many people there. There are three points. There are almost three million people there. How do you feel if it was IPECL? I would go along with it as well.
Starting point is 01:37:01 Go along. But I'm not that crazy over IPCR. I'm not, this, this imagery, medical imagery set of companies, I don't know, man. I don't know if the margin is big enough. I don't know if because they're not getting enough of the government contracts anymore because government, they now have machines in the hospital instead of just sending out those people to do the checks. The government has been doing
Starting point is 01:37:35 partnerships with entities who do this. Some of the machines in the hospitals belong to companies. They're not government machines. They have been. They have been. But the government are putting machines of their owners as well. There is something. There is something about some of that, yeah. But it is what it is. I don't think there's any fall off in
Starting point is 01:37:55 opportunity for these companies. Revenue has not fallen for any of these companies. to my knowledge. I don't think... What elite I think need a profit of $6 million for the year? That's... You're talking about profit.
Starting point is 01:38:12 That's how they handle the revenue that comes in. However, all I'm saying is there's no great fall off in a revenue from these companies. So it's a matter of how you manage that revenue. And a good part of managing that revenue well and bringing yourself to
Starting point is 01:38:27 greater profit is consolidation. So I would be me personally, I'll be very That's what I was going. This sounds like you're making, you've made a great point for consolidation. Yeah. I'd be very happy. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:42 Okay. Yes. Yes. Yes. It could be consolidation. So let us say, um, let us say that they have bought a half of elite then. And then there is only one. I would not say that you're not going to say it's zero story something.
Starting point is 01:38:57 You're only want to tell it. Yeah. And I'm just saying, suppose it's not the person you want. and what's your reaction exactly because again that's what's the person what is your certainty on
Starting point is 01:39:10 because that matters and that is why and that is why I say when you're investing is mostly just an intelligent guess based on the information that you have in front of you is mostly
Starting point is 01:39:21 it is all unless I have been inside information that has been demonized to hell and back speculation unless I have inside information
Starting point is 01:39:29 which I do not have is most Inside information, you should be investing according. You should not be investing on it. Illegal. Yeah. If you have inside information. So.
Starting point is 01:39:41 So. Morgan, I didn't hear that part about illegal. If you have invests. If you have inside information and the law prohibits you from investing until that information has been made public. Public. Right. Right.
Starting point is 01:39:52 I have absolutely no information. It's just a supposition. But, but, but, but, but, but, but, the beauty and bringing it back to the topic of tonight. the change in the space of finance. Yeah. The average investor now in Jamaica is able to have a much better basis of information on which to do their speculative moves. Yes.
Starting point is 01:40:16 Because the reality is that all investing is speculation. It's all speculation. It's all speculative. Exactly. It's just a matter of how intelligent is your speculative move. Yeah. Right. And this that is here. I mean, again, obviously, I mean, every episode of Brickta, sponsored by my money, JA. So obviously I'm biased with that. But there is nothing quite like it and it's deliberate. Because again, the reason why there's nothing quite like my money, J.A is because there's nothing built for anybody in the market who is an actual investor who actually understands the market, understands investors, actually understands the retail and. also the institutional side of things.
Starting point is 01:41:04 Yeah, and cares. And cares. I put a stupid amount of energy into the quality of certain. Like, for example, I talk about, there's been a, if you will, a gap on my money, J in terms of data. So we give you the P&L very upfront. I would give you everything that happens on the market. And we give you the news around it.
Starting point is 01:41:23 We give you events. We give you yada, yada dividends. But we don't give our retail. investors, the deeper information, I'll say deeper, the other three statements. We allow you to see the statements and you make your own thing. But what we have done, for example, for the P&L, we haven't done it publicly for the cash flow. We haven't done it for the balance sheet yet. Not because they haven't done it.
Starting point is 01:41:50 But if at this point, I think about the users, I think about my users, I think about what they're used to. Think about how easily we had that conversation and we're adding up the top 10 stakes in a company. you couldn't do that 10 years ago. That is true. You certainly couldn't do it 20 years ago. Without I doing it, I was looking in Gleana back in the day and write it. You couldn't do it then. But no, it's so easy.
Starting point is 01:42:11 You can do it on your phone. You can do it on your computer. Yeah. I have polish and expectation that the users have and that I have for the product I put out as a Jamaican product. I want that for the data also. So I can take, like we have, I think, 30-something, 33, or over three decades worth of information.
Starting point is 01:42:28 Yeah. for all that are financial statements, all done also in the same way. But I don't move until, I rather move once I move well than have to move 10 times. And so, yeah, that's the same. So there's nobody thinking and doing it this way 10 years ago. And that's another thing that is driving the finance phase forward from our perspective, right? It allows you to make investments a lot easier. It allows you to make investments better.
Starting point is 01:42:57 and it allows that basis on which your speculation is done to not be loose or blind speculation. Right. So, for example, I give a solid fact to what you just said. That August 28th move, where 81 million shares traded, if you go a little deeper into it, just to look at how the actual movement moved, 65.9 and 14, the movement of the 65.9 million means that one of the two top owners of it moved. Definitely. If the same entity asked about the 14,
Starting point is 01:43:38 if the same entity also bought the 14, then there is a notice that has to be sent. If, so if the same entity bought the 61 and also bought the 14, there's a notice that we have to get. And if you know the rules, if you know the laws, or if you don't know the laws, you can just ask my money, GA, that's the AI, that's that, that's, I don't even going into how much more democratizing the understanding.
Starting point is 01:44:11 A large part of my understanding and I understand a lot of the experts is based on the fact that you, you know the rules, you know the laws, and then you can connect those dots, you can put it together. Now with AI, maybe you don't have to can put it together. You can ask what percentage of, of, of, of, of elite, of elites shares would have to be bought for 20% associate notice to be needed. And it will tell you, it will also tell you if you want, you can quote law, it can tell you exactly where in the law it is, you can bring it to, of course, it's still
Starting point is 01:44:52 AI, it can still get things wrong, you should still check, but I've also put a significant amount of energy into, into the AI for, uh, this and it's specifically again to allow people who don't have the years of experience to have something that has the years of experience to actually tell you so based on the answer is just telling me once it passes 70.6 million shares you hit in the 20% and so no you can count you can count up again if the same entity or the same group of people if they're acting in concert they have to state once it passes 20%
Starting point is 01:45:32 the associate stake, right? If you don't know anything about it, but you just ask, yeah, that it tells you it, and it gives you the sections of the law and the rules and whatever that holds from, and that also democratizes the whole space.
Starting point is 01:45:45 Okay, so let me ask you, even if it's not a public company, they will still have to disclose that they have bought an associate stake of the company? No, that's a general. this you rule that says that you have to disclose it. But Elite is a public company, so it has to be disclosed if it is the same people or the same people acting together, the acting in concert, and they're at the clock, right?
Starting point is 01:46:19 There'd be on a clock. They have seven days. So they're supposed to tell us you that today or Monday, if it's the same people. If it's the same people. Yeah. under the law, not under the law, under JSC's rules, which, you know, do have the same teeth, meaning there are caveats, there's competition things, but the JCP seems to be taking his rules seriously these days, which is another part of the rising, the changing phase of finance,
Starting point is 01:46:51 that the market itself is taking its market and its stated market rules seriously. And the market rules are there for our protection and for the sanctity of the market. to be maintained, even the rules we don't like, looking at you Atlantic, even the rules we don't like, looking at you detail, they're there for our protection because the sanctity of the market is more important than any of us making gains. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:25 Yeah, let's see. Let's see what happens going forward. And I say, 196 is too high for you to buy it. Definitely. No one's buying at 196. No, I would probably buy that 196. Yeah, I think that 150 is where you would want to cap. But let's see. No, I understand it differently.
Starting point is 01:47:50 So stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. Yeah. No one is buying at 196. Why would you buy that 150? Well, that's where it's been trading. That's where the average cost of it. Your family is saying the same price forever since no one bite at 1906?
Starting point is 01:48:08 Well, unless they know something that I don't know. But when they do they do know, when they do know, they can bite at whatever price they feel is a reasonable price to pay. So here's, here's a one step further as I've given you that you weren't taking.
Starting point is 01:48:25 I, and I'm not pretending, I would bite, it's actually $193, I would bite at $193. I probably wouldn't bite at $193. You bite Monday. You buy Monday, Randy, at 196.
Starting point is 01:48:39 So you have all the units you want, something? I have a little. I'm diversified, you know. I'm not overly concentrated, so I do not want to make a big jump in. But I have something. I have some. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:48:57 I have some. I hope you see the points I'm trying to make. Yeah. She made the million. She now comes to know a girl. And then, and then if I get. at this point, I would still be in profit. I would still be in profit. Let me know.
Starting point is 01:49:14 You hear me say I will into buy it up to 193. So if you want, if you want to sell me all the years at 193. Well, no, I'm not telling. You're not telling. You remember we had this conversation when Transylaker was at three. Ever? You're giving jokes, right? You're giving jokes.
Starting point is 01:49:29 No, no, no, no. Okay. Founcing, bouncing, bouncing. So you're never going to sell? Is that the point? If I'm going to sell? Yeah, you're never going to sell. never going to sell it?
Starting point is 01:49:38 No, if I'm never going to sell, no, no, no, I'm not taking that stance. I'm not taking that stance no that I'm never going to sell. Why would I? So, okay, so, okay, what is your actual? It's an investment. So what's your stance? You're buying this to sell it? Well, my stance is that if my thesis is, is, adds up to where I wanted to go,
Starting point is 01:50:02 then I should be able to hold it for some time. But if it doesn't add up to there. That's not really You want to make money from this thing How are you plan to make money from this thing? What's the plan? You bought this thing to make some money And I want to know
Starting point is 01:50:20 What exactly is your plan to make money Could be dividends, it could be cap gains Cap gains, it's selling it at some point dividends, well, you get paid in dividends. So what exactly is your plan here to make money? Okay, my plan here is that if it goes where I want it to go, then I would hold it
Starting point is 01:50:40 to the point where I could get some dividends, yes, there's no question about it. If it doesn't go according to my... Who say I don't care about the cap gains? Of course I'm asking. I'm asking. Of course I care about the cap gains. I do not want to see any of my investment
Starting point is 01:50:59 below what I purchase it for. That's what SCI is doing to me every day. But it is what a day. it is to sell it. If it doesn't do what I want it to do and there's a gain on it, for sure it's not going to be significant. But yeah, I will take the gain.
Starting point is 01:51:18 I would take the gain. How do you know it's not going to be significant? Because of the amount that I've invested in it is not a significant amount. Yeah, well, if it's not a significant amount, it would be very insignificant, wouldn't it? Yeah. I know.
Starting point is 01:51:39 As usual, as usual, come and to grow. Please. Yes, I know that you're going to tell me to come to the girl. I don't know. I don't know. I'll leave it on the third. Yes, I know. I think that there are two ways that this can go.
Starting point is 01:51:59 And my plan would be surrounding. Oh, pardon. That's the only two ways you can go. You're right. It's a binary. Like you all the way the stock pricing and go up and power down.
Starting point is 01:52:12 That is actually funny. That is actually funny. You know what? I'm going to jump off here and let you guys get some other people to chat with you. But Randy, I think that one of the most important things now is to have like a good fintech company in Jamaica.
Starting point is 01:52:25 Instead of having like commercial banks, I think they're going away. When you have a nice app where you can do all your banking, all your investing, all your retirement, saving, All that stuff, I think that that is where banking should be going these days.
Starting point is 01:52:42 And I think that somebody should just maybe take that up. Maybe you can ask him to come link me and my money is always open to the right partnership. No, I'm disappointed that Grace Kennedy has not gone further with their, what is it called, go? I love my money, J.A. more than I like anything else. But you could have them to develop something like that. It would be great, actually, I think. I agree. I agree.
Starting point is 01:53:16 I agree. All right, guys. Have a good night. I actually had questions for you. I had questions for you. Just one. Just one. Just one?
Starting point is 01:53:27 Sure, just one. As you know, well, you probably don't know, but I watched your video the other day, you know, good stuff. One One Coke, right? This is what? Yes, yes. I do one, one, one. Yes, I watched the video and I was so impressed.
Starting point is 01:53:40 You're doing a good service to the people. Just to the people, just service to the people. And her portfolio. Of course. So I clicked the speaker request when I heard you mentioned Tj, because as you know, TJ is the people's champion. So I have to jump on immediately. Yes, all right, jump on because it is a people's champion.
Starting point is 01:54:01 Some people may, may differ, but I think that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Those people are just jealous, they didn't buy a $3 or $1. Yeah, but it's not once in a lifetime. But nonetheless, I'm saying, ask her the question, Jason. Yes, the question is that I wanted to, because I did my whole T.J. H analysis, and I wanted to hear a real talk about, you know, T.J. So what do you think will make it go to $20?
Starting point is 01:54:28 Me? Yeah. $20? Well, easily, if it gets to Montego, be leg of the highway. I think it would be pretty close to $20. I don't think so. Getting the new leg is going to push to $20.
Starting point is 01:54:43 No, not, sir. I think it would be pretty close to $20. Between $15, $14, $15, $16, I think it could get there. And that's not the only leg that they can get. There's going to be another leg, I guess, from mandeval to Black River. I don't think the leg is going to push it to $20, you know. I know that eventually we're going to circle the island, but I feel something else would.
Starting point is 01:55:06 Something else is going to push it to. You tell me because maybe I'm. I have my documents here already. So let me tell you what I think about. Tell me quickly. As you know, the agreement, the concession agreement expires in 2035, I believe. They're going to try and renegotiate this agreement
Starting point is 01:55:26 early to stretch the order to about 270, around that far. So all the brokers would have to reassess all. view Trans Jamaica and that would make Chanzu Mika far more attractive. Well, I did say that in my podcast. I did say that if they are able to renew the concession
Starting point is 01:55:45 early, then I think that the price should be stabled off where it is as long as they pay like a 6% dividend at this price. But I don't think that alone can move it to $20 because just holding
Starting point is 01:56:00 just So some things again Just having the concession until 10. Terrible. Let me hear what Randy saying. Go ahead, Randi. Everybody is just, is that not a pet peeve of mine. Grower means grow rich with research.
Starting point is 01:56:14 And part of the research allows us to know that. You know what? Research allows us to know that it allows us to know that they have already secured the extension of the concession agreement. And they did that, I think, maybe two years ago or three years ago. It has been. Really? Point me to that year and day.
Starting point is 01:56:33 I mean, not for free. Not for free. But it's in the financials. It's in the financials. It's part of what they got for. It's, so they have the exclusive right to the uptake of the thing in 2035. I believe, I believe, going off the top of my head, I believe it's, it's, I believe it is something that they got in exchange for a little. government.
Starting point is 01:57:03 You know, this, we have a change in government. We had a change in government. Transjamaica is a product of the P&P
Starting point is 01:57:08 administration. No, so we have a change in government. It's not tied to, is government, you know, is it changing government like what?
Starting point is 01:57:16 Like somebody take over Jamaica? No, if you have a changing government from Jamaica Labor Party to P&P, is there a guarantee that they're going to extend. You have an agreement
Starting point is 01:57:26 with the government, not with a political party. The government is always a government. You just have a change. are changing the administrative part of it, the admin. Very important that we know that as Jamaicans, more important than anything else. That's just, it's like you've got KFC, you're supposed to get chicken. If the lady that you usually see don't work there anymore, when you go KFC, you're still
Starting point is 01:57:47 supposed to get chicken. The government is the government. Who the prime minister is, which political party forms, administration, is just the admin right now, but the government is the government. So that's more important than anything else tonight. Remember that. The workforce and we change our workers from time to time. All right, Randy.
Starting point is 01:58:12 It's very important. You have a joke at all, you know, it's a real thing. It's extremely important that we know that. Because if you have an agreement with the government and it's signed and then the political party that was in the admin when you signed that agreement loses and another political party comes in, you still have an agreement with the government. The agreement is with the government
Starting point is 01:58:36 who is the government of the people of Jamaica. And Randy by all grace and Randi Bail Grace and Randy says, you know, Randy can't put on saying about a contract anymore. Exactly. You know what works up. It's exactly. Yeah. So, so it's in, I believe if you check Jason and,
Starting point is 01:58:52 and Thompson's anybody that's looking, I believe it was part of the agreement to, the agreement around them allowing. So the original agreement for the highway had certain things in there. Goes to 2036. Yeah, but not just goes to 2036. It had certain things in there. Like, as I said, this was signed, if you want to bring admins into it,
Starting point is 01:59:15 the P&P government at the time, signed to say that they would not allow any train lines to cross any, I'm sure I've said this on here already. No train lines are allowed to cross any parish lines in Jamaica as part of the agreement. Mandela Highway is not allowed to be widened or expanded as a part of the agreement. I believe no speed. There are certain limitations to the speed limits also. In other words, and this is not why it says, but in so many words, it says make the other competing roads so uncomfortable that the toll is the most attractive upshot. Basically, basically. And the government
Starting point is 01:59:52 and the admin at the time signed to that in order to get the toll. And so obviously, As anybody who's seen it knows, Mandela Highway has been widened. The train agreement, I believe the train, the thing that no train can cross one parish into another, a passenger train candidate, I believe that is still in there. But the Mandela, part of the government wanted to get Mandela Highway widened and they had other roadworks that they wanted to do. And so they went back to the table and they reworked the concession agreement. that reworked concession agreement, I believe, had terms in there, which T.J.
Starting point is 02:00:31 obviously is going to say, okay, well, if we're giving up that level of control that we have, you have to give us something. And I believe one of the things that some things that they got was the automatic, I think the exclusive right to extend the concession arrangement. I could be wrong. Not a lawyer. Read it. I could be wrong.
Starting point is 02:00:50 If anybody knows I'm wrong, read it and come tell me I'd love to hear, but I suspect I'm not wrong. is also the same document that also speaks to them giving up the right to the Mobile Bypass. I hear you. I hear you in there and a word. That's not what I was saying. This extension has not officially happened yet. Because we're not in 2035 yet, my brother. Yep.
Starting point is 02:01:18 But he's saying that they already have the right to extend it if they wish and they would want to do that. I was thinking. I'm not arguing against the rights. I agree they have the right, but the extension is planning. I heard the CEO say that they're planning to renegotiate for early extension before that 2035 mark. It was a nine years. Yeah, and there's a certain time within which negotiations have to begin. And you've done growing, you know, I said companies lie, CEOs lie.
Starting point is 02:01:50 One of the things that CEOs have loved and benefited from on the market in the past, including financial CEOs, is the lower level of knowledge that the invest in public has had. So I can tell you something that is obvious knowledge if you have researched it, but because I know nobody never researched it and nobody couldn't see it, I can tell you on it's so on good. But now things are harder for them because these damn people on the internet have been putting out information early and I've been explaining things. So when I come and I tell you XYZ, you can't.
Starting point is 02:02:21 Back in the day, then you suddenly have to worry about two or three people the AGM. It means to plan for them. No, there's a little gap with them. Oh, it's David. No, it's just David, but they realize, no, people getting smart. No, it's not just David. Everybody out there hit us with hard questions now. And that's good. That's what we want. Your money is important. Your money deserves it. So if it was a Transamerican night or something else, I'd go into it and I'd show you. But, you know, just ask my money, JAA. Oh, yes. I'll definitely ask my money. My money. a JA to tell me and then I may be able to bring up that document but yeah I do think that
Starting point is 02:03:07 trans jam can go to 20 but I agree with you it will take some time it's not going to be this year give me some time what's the timeline you think timeline for me yeah but 20 dollars mm-hmm 2029 all right my timeline is end of 2027 oh end up next year we will come back here so one year from now
Starting point is 02:03:41 you can message me and say Jason you see I see Transjama 25 no you were right I will remind you you were right I remind you you were right anyway guys I don't want to take up more of the time Jason if you want to continue and chatting with Randy and then I
Starting point is 02:03:57 do so but I'm jumping off and allowing you guys to continue chatting guys have a good night yes remember subscribe to one one one quote on YouTube yeah well Jason
Starting point is 02:04:09 you have money have a good money so something yeah I'm here Jason ronda ad is you are him painful
Starting point is 02:04:16 is me and him the what since Jason is the one voice in the ad who is the one paying for you are him pain for it you know what
Starting point is 02:04:28 all he has to do is to subscribe to my money J.A. for that ad and um and and and that should be able to pay for it some things you know you should also i want to give you a specific code for um you think so people sign up with your code you get paid and they get a discount to my money jay oh my i don't even have enough people but um you'll get more don't worry but for sure we can chat about it all right big up and thank you yeah man have a good Nice.
Starting point is 02:05:00 Amen. So, yeah. New face of finance, right? Yes, sir. Hold on. I was supposed to say something else, you know. Yes, yes. Thompson was saying about how her career has done
Starting point is 02:05:13 and another person said, oh, Tj.J. I was going to tell the people that, hey, I check my money, Jay, and I see where JetCon is up. So, Pete, you can always join us over the winning. inside yeah it's okay you know jump chip yeah they can over chance a yeah yeah election run all right um on the new the new face of finance topic i was watching the limitless guys episode about um what would be the next tj you know they had on ryan and he was basically giving energy energy that would be i haven't finished episode i'm halfway there
Starting point is 02:05:54 was giving energy energy as in the XEbani? No, as in the sector the next TGH will come from the sector, energy. Yes, a week done. Yeah?
Starting point is 02:06:06 Yeah, I can't really stay as much as I want to say about the episode, but I had my own thoughts on what the next TGH will be. Wait, wait, why? You guys already know. So, what are you going to say?
Starting point is 02:06:17 I mean, I have to finish episode first. You know, you need enough information to then speak on the thing. No, where you are, no. What? what I hear the thing that you're dancing around? No, I wanted to hear what you guys think the next Tj should be, because that's a topic I saw some guy tweet about on the time.
Starting point is 02:06:33 I mean, we spoke about it a couple weeks ago, actually. Really? I think it was when, no, no, no. It was on here, but I don't remember the gentleman's name, but he did grow recently. He told him to him. And I'd say to him because he was talking about, he's a TjH guy and he's into trans and I'm saying that you want to it's important like I'm happy for everybody
Starting point is 02:07:01 make money in trans but it's important to be able to identify the next trans Jamaica right that's what's more important so I like you can see those things and you see um uh the limitless guys did did episode with that and I love that like it's it's pushing the idea out here longer but Around the next TransJamaica, you have to, I don't remember if I said it to you, maybe I said that girl. Like if you're going to talk about what the next Transjamaica is, you have to identify what. Try what Transjamaica is. Yeah, what do you mean when you say Trans Jamaica? Right.
Starting point is 02:07:38 I would have done an episode on that, but I'm not trying to just repeat what the limitless guys have done in terms of time. I think that's important. So your call, since you're the call on, no, you want to stop finance or you want to talk about finance stuff. Well, you actually had two things. But I'll stick with this point first. So somebody had replied to my tweet saying to them, the next Chang Jamaica is something you can move higher volumes in and out of. However,
Starting point is 02:08:03 Are you just going to read recently? Are you just going to read the stuff I said that girl? No, I'm not going to read. I'm not going to repeat money for it. If you want to give everything out for free, you know, no, no, no. I'm not going to say any of this. It sounds a lot like what I said, the next trans Jamaica. No, but if you check my tweet, you'll see what I'm referring to.
Starting point is 02:08:24 Go true, go through, go to it. Yeah. So, yeah, he responded that it has to be something he can move higher volumes in and out of. That's what, who says that? If I find, yeah, I can use to find my tweet and I'll pin it to. I've brought up your timelines. Everybody's now seeing your tweet. If you scroll down, you'll see you have a link to the limitless episode and seeing what the next change.
Starting point is 02:08:49 You said Jack Kahn, who knew? my response to him was the next chance Jamaica will be the next stock that grows over 800%. Over 800%. Yeah. Okay. In what time? In what time? Let me see. TGH was like about three or four years before the movement. Yeah? So I'd give it the same timeline. What's the movement? what's the movement bossy all right so our own actually map this out you know around 2024 was then I think the real
Starting point is 02:09:30 movement started and then after that the real movement I didn't if I'm not talking at it I don't even talk generally but 10% it jumped in 2020 right it jumped to about 30%
Starting point is 02:09:44 or so in 2023 come on all right so he jump again in 25 and then we had the you know what you know the offer for sale yeah okay and then they jump again 26 so that's the that's the pattern we're following okay what so I think go ahead no okay so as it is from IPO till now it's up over what would I say over 600% is that right it said 600 uh yes 619 percent this so this number is is is against a traded price but i'm going against
Starting point is 02:10:30 the ipo price which was what 144 per share okay so it doesn't have to follow the next tjs doesn't have to follow the same pattern but what's important to me is the percentage gain okay so let's use that 600 the next tj is about the next tj is about the next tj is about the next tj is a Tj is 600% of the next in what time 141 per share yes in two years time so 634
Starting point is 02:10:58 apologies to saying that my money J was incorrect I should know better it is correct so in two years time you're expecting yeah a 600% increase that's right in what in whatever
Starting point is 02:11:14 the next TGH is but instead of it takes in six years you're saying from today it's going to take two years yeah two years all right i'm still listening i think everybody's listening at this point go you know that we have the the parameters set i already gave my reasoning on stock but i wanted to hear what you want done i think I've got to bake a cake, right? So I've, we have the cake. We're going to serve it on plates.
Starting point is 02:12:02 And I really like Christmas cake. I like fruit cake. So I have a plate here and I have the knife on the fork. So come on, guys, let's bake a cake. What? So you have decided that the next transgender maker is something that moves in what, six years or two years? Because I're still not clear on that.
Starting point is 02:12:26 OK, let's work with the three year, Mark. that's in the middle. You go as a third number now. Yes. So we work with the three year mark. So here's my issue with that. If I'm defining what Transjamaica is, I know have three definitions.
Starting point is 02:12:40 That's certain. That's not that. You have given us three definitions, Jason, that's what he's saying. And you're asking me to work with three. Here's the one definition. 600% gain in three years.
Starting point is 02:12:55 But Transjamaica didn't do that. Didn't do that. Yeah, but for me, what I think the next D.Js will be, that's my definition. Okay. And what do you think matches that? You know what I think? What do I think we'll move with 600%? Surprise me, for Jason? Something else? Something else? All right. What you mean? There's 100 odd securities at the market.
Starting point is 02:13:18 I mean, if he want me to answer with something else, that's very easy. We can. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Let me hear. Let me hear that. No, no. Something else. For free. something else i don't say it something else okay i also something else i also think it'll be something actually i i i don't want to be contrarian but i think it's going to be the same thing yeah me too ah dahl said that i'm very surprised d'l said that no but by the same thing by the same thing you mean trans jamaica because if you said
Starting point is 02:13:54 yeah they'll say bj would be the next trans america back in my day we did we did we did mental ability, at common interests, and they are listening, you know, like, as as Jason is to JetCon, Dale is to Transjamaica. Exactly that. You don't can help the Jamaican economy? Trans-Gamacca. No, JetCon. But the two of them work together because you can drive the vehicles from JetCon.
Starting point is 02:14:30 on the highway from Transjamaica. That's it. That's it. Ah, boy. Here's what I think is important, right? I put this out there for you guys. I'm the limitless guys, because they should get this, because it's more than just the headlines.
Starting point is 02:14:44 So know what the next Transjamaica is. You have to define what Trans Jamaica is. If you define, and that's where people start to fracture. Because then you suddenly realize that people have a different idea of what Transjamaica is before you can figure what the next. If you define Trans-Gamaker in just solid terms as, as I'll do you from the retail perspective, as something that will move 600% in six years. So yeah, five years?
Starting point is 02:15:21 Six years. I'm sure they're going to listen this and hear you. They do. They listen all the time. This is where they get a lot of the ideas from. So if you're going to listen to somebody saying the next TransJamaica, it's imperative that you know what that person considers TransJamaica to be. That's the most important thing. And then see if it matches what you think Transjamaica is.
Starting point is 02:15:47 Because for a lot of people, Transjamaica is the thing that they bought in the offer sale year before last year, right? For a lot of other people, Transjamaica is the thing that they bought that IPO and you never work out and then just dash you. they didn't think about it. For a lot of people, Transamerica is something that they bought this year. For a lot of other people to Transamerica is something that they, they tried a thing on last year. And all those people will all be in one conversation and they'll say, the next Transfermaker, not realizing that they're all having a different measuring stick for this thing, right? So for me, in this conversation specifically, because I would go deeper in the group and
Starting point is 02:16:29 and with my own in my own things for me the next trans jamaica if i just put it to 600 odd percent growth in in six years it's a 600 in six if you look at what's where we are now are you think six years old you surround energy i'll agree weekton easy week time easy light work undervalid
Starting point is 02:16:57 tied with um inter energy I mean we've been said that we've been saying that over years now so it's not new
Starting point is 02:17:03 that we've been saying over years now and I expect that we'll be right and I'll say in the future that we're right and we're going to be right it's not yeah
Starting point is 02:17:14 um yeah I think you can have a 600% moving weekton over the next six years easily and I think it will be at a level where the real factor is required for Trans-Jamaica to happen in the way that a Trans-Jamaica has happened without going too deep into those, I think that they could also occur in Wigton. Over the next six years, counting from 104, could Wigton be?
Starting point is 02:17:49 Yeah, I think it could also happen. Yeah, confident. I'll say 6 to 10, but I'll leave it at 6. Wicton is one easy one I'll give. There's greater details, there's greater things to get into. There's more understanding of what it is that's behind and involved in the Trans-American Drive. Even saying Witton is, you know, I think it's too much
Starting point is 02:18:11 for the people who just want to hear that and buy something. I'll remind you guys, don't embarrass her a lot just because you hear me say that. Right? We never do. Yeah, but regardless. I think Wickton is probably one of the front runners for that. Yeah, probably the frontrunner. I mean, Wigton is a chunk of JPS right now,
Starting point is 02:18:34 and it's linked to and owned heavily by the majority of four-generation side of JPS also, which I hope will list. I hope that they'll list truth to list here. if Indyra Energy, choose the list, well, if they choose the list of Jamaican arm, I'd love if they did that. And that would be even greater. And that might happen over the next six years. And if it does, you can remember I said so. Buy me a drink.
Starting point is 02:19:04 By your second drink, I mean. To be honest, we've been doing this for a while. It's more than a second drink. No, actually, bought your drink the first time, you know. I bought your drink the first time. Yeah, you just don't remember. anyway. Well, that's what drink is to you. I'm so sorry. And thank you. And thank you. But yeah, you want to bring it back to finance? So, which, you know what? I'll skillfully bring
Starting point is 02:19:32 it back to finance in a real way. No, I actually had one other thing I want to speak on. Then I'll roll back into the dark. No, probably. We'll do it because other people on to. So we'll do it and ask what are two people might want to send a speaker request for before it is done. So if you want to that by the way people setting speaking requests you'll be in line and we'll get to you but go through jason let's hear it yes so people i did grow a recent i'll admit i admit i was a little skeptical because you know people are that sell course online you know you're never really sure if you're not a little bit for a pay money from some guy i sell a course but but i gave randy the benefit of the doubt i did grow uh it was a very engaging session really we start
Starting point is 02:20:13 10 o'clock in the morning we'll finish her own 1153 is what my clock said I believe but we're supposed to finish 7.30 and so because of how great the session was the conversations we had what did you do we finish
Starting point is 02:20:28 and the Christians run the answer you know I'm very engaging teacher I must tell you so I know some of you out there you um Tom sings I know I know you're a rich person you know I can tell because I follow your channel you should do grow as well
Starting point is 02:20:43 I encourage all you to do, Grow. What I think Growers missing are some reviews. Somebody upon the website said, okay, I went from Macril to Lobster because of Growler. Or me used to walk foot, but no, is a jet tour, me not driving. Your Grower changes lives, people. So I'm encouraging each of you. It's a bike. It's a bike.
Starting point is 02:21:02 Ah, of course. I'm good. Jeff, there's been a bike from JetCon. Great customer service. Go and get your bike today. There's the EV link of tomorrow where you'll use. see the arc fox you can purchase. Of course.
Starting point is 02:21:19 Big up, I didn't ask me to that people, but I'm thankful that. I know some people think, granted, ask people come up here and say these things. But I have my own. Well, that's up to you. I have my own volition came up here and just say, hey, girl was great and I look forward to Dublin, making that money I spent on the course. Honestly, you should. The point behind it is that it allows you to know how to.
Starting point is 02:21:46 to make money and you should. Not one of those people who are trying to tell you to not do that, I have the gross subscribers group. And I've always said that my thinking is that however amount you spend on this thing, it should be enabling you to be able to make more than that amount. And thankfully, you've heard from people who have made a lot of money that way and I've learned to do it. And the door is always open.
Starting point is 02:22:10 Not for everybody. There is a cap on how many people are low in the group. How many people I can help realistically. And but we're not at the cap yet. So I mean, it is what it is. It's, it's, you should want to make back your your money that I want you to make back your money and more. That's the point of the thing. Yeah. Worse I saw the, the, the, um, the large role on Twitter point out that, uh, you're putting some prices up. Uh, I did, I, at a point out that like, I'm, I'm the cheapest on the thing. Imagine that the best one is cheap.
Starting point is 02:22:44 on the thing I need to carry my price. Debatable, debatable. That is the cheapest. No, no, no, I looked at it. It is the cheapest. No, no, the best part. Oh, I know what you're talking. You know what?
Starting point is 02:22:56 I think I agree with you because I think about it. Somebody's teaching me how to make millions on the market. Grow has minted millenaires. That's a new logo slogan for the... I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was this... It is it. Dihal advisory is in teaching you know, he's doing it. Oh yes.
Starting point is 02:23:18 I'm not a teacher. Yeah, yeah. So at 120, I'm like, no, 300 from LGI one and one. I don't know what a consultation is, but 300, I mean, everybody should get their money. No knock to it, right? But I just know what I give in terms of value. So I'm happy to see that because I know I need to raise prices now. So people, if you don't agree yet, everymickle.
Starting point is 02:23:39 com slash GRW. I get it before the price raise because the price, definitely have a raise now. Yeah, you know, profit, profit, profit needs to be in there. That 300. Then you need to rent your prices. You're giving people custom advice, custom time spent and government portfolio. You leave off your money too.
Starting point is 02:24:05 Yeah. Yeah, which is also another part. Segling it, as I said back to the finance, the whole finance space and the finance talk. part of the individualization of what's happening in this space also comes with you having to now see the cost. That's part of what I'm saying with the whole JMMB thing. It's not that JNB put on this fee on them own to hurt is that the fee was always there. JNB just used to pay it and not let the customer know that the fee was there.
Starting point is 02:24:39 But now Jeremy is like, yo, why am I paying this? for the customers. Let me just pass it on to the customers. And I think that they're comfortable doing it because they know that everybody has to pay that fee. And they're compatible doing because they know that everybody has to pay that fee. And so it's not like that to worry about the competition not having the fee because any competitor who doesn't give you that fee is a competitor that has decided to eat the fee because the fee exists, the fee hitting all of them. And so yeah, part of the democracy. And so yeah, part of the democratization of finance has it comes with the individualization of some of the costs.
Starting point is 02:25:19 Like there are things that you're getting that you weren't aware of the cost behind it. You thought it was free. And the first person to put a price tag on it tends to get a lot of stones thrown at them. But if you look at it, you'll realize that after a while everybody has the price tag on. Not that them following the first person. It's usually because the thing isn't free. They're just giving you free and they can't afford to anymore. So like I say, one of the change in the face of finance is that it's individualization of the fees, individualization of the fees and putting it forward to the people.
Starting point is 02:25:55 And that is hitting across the boarding finance, which also means, I try a hell of a second, which also means that the finance entity or entities that do that, that meet the customers where they are, first in a fair way I make it plain to them that this is the reality of the thing and we're doing the best that we can do it's probably going to benefit which my segue into like maybe barita I think what do you think that I had the dark horse after all of these years I think the the the base the base case for a financial group in Jamaica is you touch You should have one main workhorse and then you have other things around he can earn from, right? So like for years, NCB's main workhorse was NCB, the bank. And then they built other things around it, right?
Starting point is 02:26:59 Insurance and so on. And they grew and they grew and they grew on the group. Exactly. Exactly. And then funny enough, NCB, the bank stopped being very good. Yeah, the bank is actually in many ways and for many years unprofitable. that NCB Jamaica is an unprofitable thing. If you look at, if you look deep in the books,
Starting point is 02:27:17 so how come the cost of that by like, everybody hate NCB and them wicked and them, the ATMs never work and yada, yada, yada, yada. It's because that stuff comes out of costs. And if they charge a cost that it requires for those things to be at a level that you want, the cost is not going to be palatable to the people who have not had to pay it before.
Starting point is 02:27:35 So what did they expand their, they're reaching to other areas. They own 60% of GHL. They have turned insurance into their workers. which explains if you sharpen up to pick it up why GHL is the number one dividend payout of all that our shares on the GSC because 60% of those dividends go directly to NCB. NCB need that cash and so insurance becomes their new workhorse. Now, I say all of that as context.
Starting point is 02:28:07 And like then I said, Sajikor and insurance, right? That's their workhorse. And then they have banking almost on the side. So they went into banking as an aside, you could say. Barita is growing. Barita slash Cornerstone, really Cornerstone, is growing, and they're trying to grow heavily and hugely. And they need a workhorse.
Starting point is 02:28:33 No, they're not that many things that can become your workhorse. If it was up to me, the market would be the workhorse. There's so much you can do in the market. but I also think for the level of money that they need and what they're trying to do and what they have already tied themselves to the market alone can't be it. So your options really become banking. That's a real estate, but you need a heavy amount of capital that cares about real estate for that. We do have that in Jamaica in the way that I'm thinking like commercial real estate
Starting point is 02:29:12 as a workhorse for your group. We don't have that in Jamaica, I don't think. So it would have to be either banking, I think, or insurance, a faster horse. Is either banking or insurance? Or they have to find something new to be like their workhorse? You think, what you think?
Starting point is 02:29:36 You think, like, funds could be their thing, then? The changing phase, you think, like a true thing of, funds and not just not just jamaica heavily jamaica but also regional yes at that level you do it with banking as you say it's it's how you lead it because like it's funny i think of sarticcore mhm such a where is insurance and funds you're lower right yeah well and they both but the funds is because insurance needs something to put money in and satchel court needs something to take them out for the funds yeah okay okay i think i think they can i think they can do funds
Starting point is 02:30:34 very strongly because i don't see them necessarily doing it well because i'll feel like we don't have to start already you get me in that way but kind of start in i brought jane fund managers true and that's just funds how much yeah is it no and a brook i mean they have funds and thing there yeah you're right good what how much the the core also about something back in the day too you know and they bought the funds from those people it wasn't they didn't buy them they didn't buy the house they bought the funds from that house so it might be very right you know they also bought sorry let me rephrase it they also seem to be very very close to prove her.
Starting point is 02:31:23 And there was a strong state there. And prove her. You know, I might eat those words about real estate. They actually do real estate. No, because real estate, it's great to be doing funds, as we know. Yeah, but I don't think anybody has, it's great because you can determine the value,
Starting point is 02:31:43 but you can determine when the value is increasing. When you choose to. You also have us, you make it strong conversion point meaning it becomes it's not is no long you you you know you securitize it's no longer just on sale or the value is is no easily converted to cash or something like cash yes and then if you control the funds if we go further everybody is the same thing is us it's us where the lead is say right and they can they can do funds really strongly yes yeah they if if what they take from
Starting point is 02:32:23 improvement is like the real estate throw it under their already existing. Remember Barita's real estate fund is the 3,000 odd percent right? And their CEO it was Rahman Small Ferguson's he's their CEO is the time I think he's there's CEO is the time. I think so
Starting point is 02:32:45 I think so. Yeah. He's from the fund. That's where he was originally now. J and phone managers, yeah. Not I was even thinking about Jen. I meant like he handled Barita's funds for well. And then no, he's running. If you look at the track of that thing.
Starting point is 02:33:03 So if I'm thinking that cornerstone is going to be my... A black rocket basically. Yeah, yeah. The rocket jump years ago, wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. So the whole thing, this is that the whole rocket jump years ago. You did a rocket jump with the real estate. you just need to have enough funds and of course you need to have enough real estate and real
Starting point is 02:33:28 estate assets but they have captured a significant amount of real estate they have i shouldn't say capture godfrey you're on the front side you lead into so again so here's the thing it's my bias because i'll is mine too which i which i'll pass for so long i love funds because i'll see what they can do in a group if it's a provide a proper insurance because again you all the same thing we just where you actually strong we're the actual strong niche and I think the best one in that I like insurance just because of the continuity of cash cash flow and and funds I don't like funds where where the money coming in is optional yeah yeah that's
Starting point is 02:34:16 only that's only different I'm with you I just only difference I don't like where it's coming being Buffett and Black Rock you know black rock is Illuminate, that's not, oh, that's fun same way. Yeah, but that's not optional. That's an option. Wait, wait, wait. What you mean? Pension, not optional.
Starting point is 02:34:37 Barita pension, but barita real estate fund option. I have to want to invest and then somebody sells me on the real estate fund, but my pension not optional at work. They come in. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so sorry, think about it this way then. Your pension. You know what else is it started by the real estate phone you know what else they got yeah but you want a pension that's not yours you want yeah that's fine but but I don't know if
Starting point is 02:35:06 they had those but do you not just I just remembered let's see my money Jay can't help me find this I think they got the what they got the tourism fund enhancement fun you know funny story about that and I'm afterwards and that significant waka cash that the government is sitting on from Melissa that's funds might be the new
Starting point is 02:35:57 what's not be the new banking which is the old banking really but everybody has a need she just how just how it's right for everything else around yes
Starting point is 02:36:09 and again I think funds are the best one but I think you just said matters though like getting the tourism workers The tourism enhancement. No, no, the tourism workers. Oh. Yeah, the newly set up tourism workers pension scheme.
Starting point is 02:36:31 That's what they got. That is what they got. That's wrong. That's not optional. Well, I mean, uh-huh. That's not optional. That is, it has a value of 5.3 billion in savings.
Starting point is 02:36:56 I see the bad government with $1 billion. And it started recently. It's up to 5. 10,000 workers registered and it's a political thing. I think the man didn't find it. Some Melissa money. It's almost like a sovereign wealth in its shape. Like, you know, government funds to grow.
Starting point is 02:37:33 grow the entire economy and the country. And that is actually, wow, that's, sorry to give you people dead air. That's the, that is one of the undeniable new faces of finance that we're going to have to see. And you know, I brought this whole thing up to say that they, on the banking side, because you still want to have the commercial banking and they have pushed hard to get to commercial banking. They put a lot of work into getting a commercial banking license. So obviously, no, in 2026, if you're really going seriously to commercial banking, you're not going to go into it with the no knock, but you're not going to into the original NCB model, right? You're not trying to have people come to the branch and long lines and whatever, right?
Starting point is 02:38:18 It is all digital. There is no, I don't want to go to the bank. The bank don't want me to go to the reader. I have a phone, have devices. Yeah, why do I need to go to the bank? Digital banking. But my real workhorse then is the funds, but I am still a commercial banking. a commercial banking driven entity, if you will.
Starting point is 02:38:41 And that's definitely the next 10 years because you forget how you feel about it. No one, if the card machine not working, I put it at 10 years from now, nobody will be saying the card machine not working. Like if the card machine not working, you're not going to make any money. So the card machine needs to work. Yeah, I think much will. Yeah. You've started with you for.
Starting point is 02:38:58 Exactly. Like cash, don't, you hear, I'm not saying that cash is dying or people aren't going to use cash. I'm saying that people are not going to care about cash. Cash is a number on you. Right now, cash is already a number on your screen for most young people, most digitally push with young people. 10 years from now, it's going to be like cash, cash up over cash, right? It is what it is. And I think in that world, Barita is going to be set because they don't have the, they don't have the heavy footprint that all the other entities have. Yeah, like we don't need to
Starting point is 02:39:34 open a branch in whatever they are or we'll will do digital branch so i will do branches with at the post office so kind of like the model that gk kind of pioneered with high low a couple years ago so yeah it's not it's i think that's a major major major consideration for what the future finance is going to look like from the customer interaction side i think digital banking is digital everything you pension everything you should this that you see on screen my money JA is going to become the new normal for everything you're doing, meaning you should have a digital look at your pension. So it's not something that's just I have to go and talk to somebody and get a little print. It's I should, I go on and I check something
Starting point is 02:40:20 and I have platforms that can go on to and I check. Best believe on it's that way. You'll be able to, my money JA don't name my stocks JA for a reason. It's named my money JAA because it's about your money. So as it becomes it, you'll see it. I should be able to check out my pension is doing, how my personal pension doing, who my portfolio is doing, everything. I think that's a major, major part of what's coming. And I said I'm saying segue, I was going to have, I think Brick Cutter was on, but it looked like in,
Starting point is 02:40:46 either between thumbsings or Jason, jump back off. So it is why it is something, I won't go for too long, but that is, I think, a major point of expectation. And then it also brings me to the companies that I was thinking of as sneak finance company. right so I better segue into sneak finance companies are fine actual finance companies but ones that work in areas that we don't initially think of or we don't think of them as finance companies sometimes or no well no we do so like signals we use a joke all the time about
Starting point is 02:41:24 signals and mezzanin yeah signal and quick I don't say what I just say what I can go on my money and track Molato, bro. That is so easy I could do that tomorrow if I want, but ESPEL would have to cut there. Like, oh yo, this is this, like, a bite and I, a, I buy them and when they pay, when they get the alert, see. And the numbers come out, I know my payout is, I know everything. That would be so cool, bro. I could do that.
Starting point is 02:41:57 No, but no, that that check would have to be. would have to be you'd have to give me a lot for that. Or not even a lot, but you have to spend something for that. It does invested. It is just invested. You know what I could do? You see a lot of word for there. For a smaller check, I could put it on the SVL page and drop it at the top whenever the draw happens.
Starting point is 02:42:22 I mean, I do for a lot of things, right? We add a lot of additional data in already. So like today the numbers came out for Dauphin Co. not for Darwin code, but it affects the Dolphin code, the tourism numbers, the visitor arrivals, and we update that. So people who have Doving Cov in their portfolio and also people who have ECL, because that's Tories facing. As it comes out, you get an alert telling you about how the numbers look. So up to the end of August, we're still on a deficit compared to the year before. Obviously, this is because of Melissa. So 17% though,
Starting point is 02:43:01 a year to date and just in the Q3 period which obviously isn't done yet but in the Q3 period is down by 16.8% and the whole year year to date it's down 17% but still respected before 5. There was a time when that was a record arrival for the entire year. Doing it what you will it's a bit's a nice bit of information is a nice bit bit of data for for for you to use and map how things are. I'm not saying that that's tied to Dalvin Coe's price, which is below $10 today. Nice. But it is important, especially for the longer term view of the thing. So I could do something like this for the SVL. That's it all that I said. I'll have to say that. I think they're lucky if I have the lot
Starting point is 02:43:45 of the cash spot on a little section on the SVL page. But if you see that, guys, know that the check has been cut. Right. They know that they cut a check. That's the only way I did that. Not that it's a great idea actually that I, but tell Svils. Tell SvL. Track your winnings. Right. But you see exactly how much you're supposed to get. I tell the whole thing, right?
Starting point is 02:44:12 So you know how much you actually supposed to get. Apparently I'll say if you win and you have a, if you're winning is below a certain amount you can get it from the place where you bought it. But if it's above a certain amount, you have to get it from Sval's office. it's like you know if you i don't know the exact numbers but i think this this is made up with it goes something like this like if you win the cash button it's like you win five grand i think you can get the five grand from um the place where you bought the cash pot but if you win you know you win the lot of a 20 million 50 million hundred million super lotter you you have to go find
Starting point is 02:44:50 yourself up at the office um so you know we could tell you things like that good segue because I don't know if you're going to mention it. Sneak finance, I'm talking about Signus, but probably the biggest finance company on the market is SVL. Yeah, it is, it's not considered to be a finance company officially. It is not in the... People invest with them every day. People invest with them every day. That's true.
Starting point is 02:45:25 It's not in the financial index. It's not considered to be a finance company. But if you actually consider what a finance company, or if you've listened to Brick Talk, our earning season for years going back, you've heard us at this conversation a couple of times. Then I thought about it, a question, what is a bank? Like, really, what is a bank?
Starting point is 02:45:48 A bank is like a storage of money, a loan provider, a financial services provider. and Valley Transference Network Yeah and SVL in my view has all of those the biggest financial network
Starting point is 02:46:12 I would say in Jamaica right if you could get cash from the if you could get cash from the cash prop machine you'd never argue about ATMs being down yep Yep.
Starting point is 02:46:25 There's a cashbot machine everywhere. It is the biggest financial network in Jamaica. You can get, you can pay your bills there. You can get credit there. You can pay for some things through there, right? It is actually, yeah, actually thinking around on a point for something I did years ago. Yeah, it's a, it is the biggest financial network. And it's a sneak finance company because it's not a business.
Starting point is 02:46:55 bank, which means it don't have the same level of headaches as the banks have. And you don't hear the cash pot machine is down very often. The brick cutter jump back on. We mentioned Sval two times. Stop keep. Yeah, yeah. Yep. I mentioned Sval two times.
Starting point is 02:47:11 Let me show you know. And the man is back. Yeah, man. Yeah, man. It's like the bat signal in the road. Bad signal. Yeah, bad, that. Is the JECON as, as my guy there is to T.
Starting point is 02:47:23 TjH as the brick cutter as Philist to SEL. Oh, Godfiel? Yes, I. Boy, my dear, my dear, me there. Is you that the financial restructuring to get onto the top ten?
Starting point is 02:47:37 That would have been one. He did not be shown in the top ten. No. Ah, that's right. Yeah, right. That's right. One day, one day, we all
Starting point is 02:47:50 have dreams. Oh, that's a hell of a dream. man 300 and a million yeah man one day or units yeah units yeah yeah yeah that's a great point though yeah that
Starting point is 02:48:11 sneak finance company i mean SVL even has the capacity and does give loans to to to other large listed companies well to other listed companies do that like who I mean they have
Starting point is 02:48:31 I've been trying to bring up the arm the audited on my money JA as in the last audited I believe has the alone to
Starting point is 02:48:52 I think it's directly to first record for Hambani really? Really? Mm. If I remember correctly
Starting point is 02:49:06 the the notice about I'm not go off memory so on screen yeah there it is
Starting point is 02:49:18 Hambani during the period the group invested 5701.3 million in short-term investments, including a US-denominated corporate note. That's what I don't remember. So the notice about First Rock stated that the, I'm going to call it the save your money or the money that came in and I helped them when they're in a bad place. It was arranged obviously by Mayberry and in the form of notes or whatever. But they, well, I heard that so I figured, okay, they bought it. So yeah. 14% U.S.
Starting point is 02:49:57 10% on the U.S. He should buy a hamburger and the state. The note has a maturity of less than one year. My God. Then I, they're like a dollar. That's right. Look at that.
Starting point is 02:50:19 That's like a dollar. 14% in less than one year. on the US dollar on US dollar nice if you can get it yeah wow yeah how is this not a bank right jaymanby would I love this yeah yeah right yeah he can't get 40% on the US dollar yeah me could never imagine the mergers and acquisitions right imagine um imagine imagine imagine I really have much to imagine. Sajikor, we know it's going to be reworked because because they are insurance-based and insurance is a business of scale, they're doing what they're about to do. And I, this part now is speculation on my part, blind speculation because I haven't gone into anything deep. If Sajikor
Starting point is 02:51:16 Caribbean is being bought by Sajikore Jamaica, means that the owners of Sajikor Caribbean is going get all that money right the owners of satchikor caribbean are i mean is satchikor financial group which is 23 or 24 percent owned by jim mb so imagine if satchikor financial pays out all of that money as like a special dividend they get that dividend in u.s dollars imagine they get that dividend in us dollars and they were able to put on 14 percent also they own sagescourt that is that why you Sirbury has been going on and on about J.M.B. Because I think I'm some genius. If I know it, him know it. Yeah. If that money goes up to Sajikor Financial, if it's paid out as a special dividend,
Starting point is 02:52:11 because it's not like anything really changes. It's just really the movement of significant funds from Sajikor Jamaica to Sajikor Financial because they own 100% of Sajkore Caribbean. then nothing has changed. Satchikor Financial still run Sajikor Jamaica and Sajikor Caribbean. They still have everything, but they don't have a lot more money that just existed Sajikor, Jamaica. Why not pay that out to yourself? And then 20% of that payout goes to JMMB, which, if you think that headline the other day about, you know, JNB, Sajikor steak makes more money than JMMB, okay?
Starting point is 02:52:52 your job makes more money than your hustle don't mean you should stop you hustle don't mean you should stop your hustle an investment bank's investment is the best thing on their books okay it is what it is that's not super
Starting point is 02:53:16 exception that's great SVL makes more money than MJB they're doing well There you go. Yeah, it's how it works. It's how it works. But if you look on it, that's another thing for us as investors looking in the future to get sharper on,
Starting point is 02:53:33 you look on it as something good and not something bad. Then you understand that if what I just said is going, I think may happen. If that actually happens, then when the insiders, well, I haven't said inside, because I think some of the insiders know already. But when the larger circle of the insiders, the industry insiders, sit at and figure it out. They might brave up and buy jail. They're kind of brave, but they're not really brave.
Starting point is 02:54:04 Nobody's brave enough to buy the $50 or dollar stock at $16, except for all this as you see. Very, look at this queue. See this, don't it? Yes, sir. LinkedIn broker. Whoa. So while the retail, the less sharp part of the retail is still waiting on the buyback,
Starting point is 02:54:27 which has been happening, by the way, but you should have been raised on to begin with it. was never going to do anything great. But while you've been waiting on the buyback, the sharp ones have been, the smart money has been moving into it. And let's just say, I think that if that special dividend payout happens, I don't think the share price is going to be anywhere near $16 when it happens, right?
Starting point is 02:54:49 And why wouldn't it happen? It's not a gym for the people who bother to stay around for this long. Anyway, Sir Phil, I hope you tell us something other than SVL, but you can also tell us about Sval if you want. Remember why is there, Anita? What you want me to talk about? No, no, no, talk about whatever you want, my brother.
Starting point is 02:55:07 Sorry. A joke, a joke. No, man, no one. And SVL, of course, they invested in, in a, they gave a loan to, what is it, Game Park. I mean, there's... My money is... About it. and I asked the AI about it, so let's see what the AI says.
Starting point is 02:55:35 Different account, sorry, looking at a different page. So I asked it as of the last year, pull your results. Which month was it? Which month was it? Which note? Which note of the... It was... It was... no 27 short term investments so
Starting point is 02:56:09 571 million Jamaican dollars short term investments well the game pack one is not 21 and the game well sorry no 20 sorry I don't even going to address since it's late at some wonderful it was
Starting point is 02:56:29 from memory the man again No, no, no, no, no. No, no. I look for it. Not, man. So the AI told us, yeah, it is in No-20. So the big one, Game Park Limited Ghana, 1.77 billion, three subsidiary SVL Gaming Limited.
Starting point is 02:56:45 The group has lent a loan of $1.77 billion to Game Park. Game Park is a lot ofries gaming company, which operates Ghana for the group. It is the, it is the Bali of Ghana. Well, we hope it becomes the Bali of Ghana. But it is the ballet at least for Game Park. It was impaired on a 12-month basis using a 24% loss given default. 4.92% probability of default and a 3% FLAFactor. I don't think it'll be defaulted though, but I think that there's actual real risk,
Starting point is 02:57:20 more risk obviously than dead face in Jamaica. But that comes to the territory when you're expanding. Right. number two microfinance lending to the public via Evalve loan company so the retail loan book of Eval is another 424.8 million however well AIS is worth flagging that 44% of the the book was credit impaired in 2025 and that doesn't matter anymore because, as you've said, Phil, they sold the entire book to dollar, completely reducing their credit results.
Starting point is 02:58:11 And you said how much, I didn't catch it, how much did they sell it for, Phil? There's a number that has been floating around, 700 million. Where do you get that number from? 700. But I, I... Oh, you said floating around, you hear that? I believe that the CFO of the company said it. I don't, it was not, I didn't see it from an official relief.
Starting point is 02:58:40 But she said it on a neighbor forum, if I remember correctly. That's a 30-20 thing? But, oh, no, that's a different statement now. But I was also in relation to this, no. And they said that payment. Yes, it was. Yes, it was. Payment.
Starting point is 02:59:02 30, was it 30-20? 30-20 payment, yeah. Not 30-now is something, which... 30-70. Yes, rather simple. Rather simple. 30-70. Still don't know what it mean.
Starting point is 02:59:25 I'm hoping. I don't know. You think they would have sold a 400 million book at... Total, did the CFO say that it was sold at 700 or did they say that the book is 700? I think right. I think the book is 700. Yeah. Total gross of the book is 700, but if I have a 700 book, I'm not selling it for 700. Correct. Of course, man. It has multiples of it because a book can generate. A book generates.
Starting point is 02:59:59 Yeah, that's the whole point of it. Yeah. yeah you sell it at a multiple over then you choose five years 10 years what well one year at 3070 quarterly payments that that i'm quoting what was said i don't know what it meant because no clarity was given but i'm quoting what was said it's a very simple quarterly payments payment of 3070 if they're sold it for 3 billion that's a nice pretty penny
Starting point is 03:00:32 yeah that is not a bank multiple super ventures quite a profit would be great yeah it's
Starting point is 03:00:49 like it would double their Ritty in their earnings roughly roughly I'm going off memory I could be around but I think we'll roughly and you know they'd already keep their RITT well they keep retaining it's what you know them pay out yeah and they also and going for it would um
Starting point is 03:01:11 reduce the e-sales on their balance and their on their books not going it completely eliminate at least the e-sail related to that because there's no book too right matter of fact but one way or another this girl level stuff you know one way or another like regardless whatever they've sold it for this E.C.L that they took on 44% of that book has to be written back either way because they don't have the book anymore.
Starting point is 03:01:47 I did not if I had if I thought about that five seconds before I would not have set it out loud on this. Anyway Anyway, number three, a parent company loans is on subsidiaries. And point of it didn't catch the, it didn't catch the thing that you did.
Starting point is 03:02:12 So you see, it's a good example of why you have to trust but verify AI because AI feel come with a note and out of them head. And I also came with the, also came with the, um, the, the. The. Hambani of less than a year. Finish what you're saying about Phil. About SVL, Phil. I put in two and two and two and two and two together. Yeah, there also have some, what is it?
Starting point is 03:02:57 What would you call that now? Some unlisted, unquoted equities on their books. We've spoken about that before, of course, through their stake in Vicle which owns some shares in Kio and that is awaiting it seems as it turns out
Starting point is 03:03:26 the the oil division of that the oil and gas division of that seems as if it is going to become its own monetize its own separate company, its own separate listed company.
Starting point is 03:03:43 NASDA listed. NASDA, USA listed. And because Keog is already listed on the NASDA stock home. Yeah. And they are definitely under, I mean, they're under a timeline, no.
Starting point is 03:04:03 And I suspect that they're going to have to get that listing money by November based on the based on the payout that they need to give to the
Starting point is 03:04:21 I think it's a Spanish company to get the additional 16% which they have committed to of the oil field of the yeah to take their stake up to 40%. You know, they've signed a binding agreement for that and really I don't see it.
Starting point is 03:04:42 I mean, unless they, they haven't said it directly, but unless they get the money from somewhere else, I think it's the public listing that they're going to have to get that money from. But not SVL, SVL, just wait for it to be figured out and then. Yeah, them have the shares already. Just wait for it to be figured out. And once this thing come, I would anticipate that SPL slash maybe they will be selling shareholders.
Starting point is 03:05:12 Or not? Or maybe they keep it. Either way, they'd get an increased value. Yeah. Uncoated equity move to being quoted. It, um... Quoted not very enough. Yeah. Very enough. Matter of fact, it's a spin-off of the uncoated equities.
Starting point is 03:05:32 So you still, wow. Yeah, you'd book that. out as a quoting. If you own it directly then it becomes level one, if it's listed. Which, I mean, I hate to say it. I don't want to take pills
Starting point is 03:05:59 this thing, but I don't hate to say it. It's just the next TjH might be SVL. That's true. The next TGH might be SZL. It hasn't. It hasn't.
Starting point is 03:06:16 When I wrote it out, like I just jotting it down. of all what I consider to be the Tjj and all the factors needed. There's none that they don't have none. And the heavy seed, darling, over the last, I mean, it's like a year and a half now of heavy, inside a bind, just relentless inside a bind. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 03:06:48 Yeah. I'm a company that previously, there was a lot of insider activity in terms of share purchasing and selling but the balance has shifted heavily towards buying over the last year and a half maybe even longer than that
Starting point is 03:07:13 there's a few selling notices and those have been a lot smaller in volume than the inside of buying notices you know, and them now sell them shit except for such restructuring which
Starting point is 03:07:41 I mean the top the the holder was quoted as saying that it was him selling shares to himself. It's not legal. Well, I can't even not say he said it.
Starting point is 03:07:59 He's quoted as saying that, but it's all to a trust, which he's a park owner, which he's, which is, did he say he was a park owner? He said he's a beneficial owner. I should say. But if there's no change in beneficial ownership, it's transferred the, a block trade. Mm-hmm. Usually. Not usually. It's, it's, if there is no change in beneficial ownership, then you can't buy it and sell it yourself. But if there is a change in beneficial ownership,
Starting point is 03:08:41 then you can't do the black trade. Unless it's intra-group. And even then, ultimately, there would be no real change in beneficial ownership. So I guess there is some amount of, maybe moving from a single beneficial ownership situation to a tiered, shared, beneficial ownership situation.
Starting point is 03:09:07 That's possible. So I think also. So maybe moving from me alone to me and other people, which then it wouldn't be able to do it as a block trade. But you would still describe it as something you own. Yeah. Tricky language. It's used to.
Starting point is 03:09:31 work 10 years ago. I used to work. Yeah. You know that that steak is, I think if I, if memory serves me correctly, that steak is larger than the steak that Mayberry had when they initially bought in. Like I want to say that they initially bought in like an 11 percent. Could be wrong. Are they going way off memory, but could be wrong. I want to like that, there was a movement of an 11% when they are just bought in. And just this stake alone, the Ian Ken's stake right now, almost 13%. Wow.
Starting point is 03:10:22 That's one very familiar. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to have old articles from long, long, long ago and so, but yeah. Five point. 9 billion. Strong, strong. Yeah. A lot of signaling, as you say.
Starting point is 03:10:44 So SVL is part of the change in the financial landscape, you think? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the moves. Hopefully before the end of the year. Up next. Some strong movement. I mean, I expect to hear the any day, know here with the finalization of that evolved loan portfolio i think they said that they
Starting point is 03:11:15 have gotten uh b oj approval but cameron what is they waiting for there's nothing else if there is approval needed then then that's in the middle everything else just requires a willing buyer and a willing seller so right yes we'll see Quarter soon down. We'll see. You can look back on it. Sviel. If you listen, Jason, you can hear that one.
Starting point is 03:11:51 Maybe that one is the Trans-Gamaker in two years instead of six. Maybe. Yeah. Oh, boy. A big up, Sir, Phil. His own, like, he tired and his life. Yeah, yeah. It's been a week.
Starting point is 03:12:10 I know the feeling, my brother. I know the feeling. All right. I don't see nobody that's setting any speaking requests. And I don't want to keep us going on at night. So I think I'll call the time and tree. I'll wrap it with a good one. JSC.
Starting point is 03:12:26 I did. I didn't consider like what other things are. Oh, we'll go through. No, no. That's the whole point. Specifically at the market. Hmm. That's a new leg in the JSC.
Starting point is 03:12:39 And those general change for the financial sector, we say more and more and more open up the financial sector for people, for people, more options that people can have for financing. We definitely had a problem with that overall. The market came and sold out of that. And the micro market, I think, very timely. We need something else breaking down for more people, allowing people at a different level to get access.
Starting point is 03:13:06 So, yeah. Yeah, I agree with that. Even then, as I say, JC overall, it, it, it, it, it doesn't stop just at the micro market because there are still companies at the larger levels that do need things that do need financing do need stronger prices patient from that level so more money to us and more money to Jamaica through that yeah new face I think that the I think that the the the micro market is like you mentioned the junior market as a bone for I don't know, maybe you kind of say micro, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 03:13:42 SMS, SMS, small business. Like, I think that catches, yeah, MSC, whatever that is, right? Medium, MSM-M-S-M-S-E. MSM-M-S-M-E, yeah, MSM-M-M-E. Yeah, medium-and-small, small, small micro-enterprice. Micro-enterprice, there we go, thank you. I think you need a bit, kind of catches too many things, right? So like R.A. Williams coming on to the market, that's a small company. That's truly a small company. But it's not really small. It came on valid at two bill, two and a half bill. I think the micro market is going to be a boon for or should be a boon for VCs. It should actually be a spur for true VC in Jamaica. Like you can find not R.A.
Starting point is 03:14:39 Williams level 2.5 billion yeah it's so nice and nothing wrong with that but what about the companies below that although the people who are not doing a hustle but they're not at that level they're not at two and a half billion or a billion yet and and that's and getting in with those people and then putting them under the kind of structure that the micro market which is just a drew no it's in power yep yeah man get impart it is a true um shot in the arm for them, I think. And I find a lot of the complaints that I've heard from the industry side of things and the bigger, it's almost like, you know a couple of them to deny.
Starting point is 03:15:19 Like, you know, the big companies, we call them big private companies where, bro, your company in a bad year makes 50 to 70 million in profit in a bad year. Yes, you're not listed, but you talk about the listed guys as if there's some great thing. Like, look at the reality of it. You are greater than a lot of them, right? those guys aren't micrormacic. But then they're like, oh, the junior market, they almost talk as their things above them,
Starting point is 03:15:46 or they think about it just from the tax break perspective, which that's a good perspective, but there's more. But the guys who aren't at the 70 million in profit yet, the people who are maybe at 70 million in revenue and 7 million in profit, right? They have a 10% net profit margin. They're trying to try a thing. Those guys, you can IPO their company
Starting point is 03:16:07 7, 10, 10x, 70, 100, 150, and push it to 250. At 2 million, 200 million IPO, 250 million IPO, meaning company size, not IPO. So, yeah, 250 and 50, that's a 50 mil IPO, but you would actually bring back, you know, that can actually bring back the 2015, 2016 idea that people have in mind of when IPOs were different of, 08.09. Yeah. Also, there's a big thing there you always speak about.
Starting point is 03:16:42 It's probably probably in this way, but I think people do this thing where they move at them bigger than they are. When people, they talk about two the market companies and you hear them talk about
Starting point is 03:17:00 micro-market companies like in there. There's a whole level of finance that does, that happens at a level. It can be big. You imagine like, let's say VC's, I have a fund that I have 10 of those companies. It's a good size fund, right? And it can be participation from a lot of people in that fund, in those companies. And it doesn't need the big banks to be the frontrunner for that.
Starting point is 03:17:26 You know, there's a lot of levels of financing that we can have. And I think it's just a big part in nothing, people getting real about where they're, are. Yeah. Me and you who can have the same nine to five, same level of money, and somehow we're talking down on that kind of thing as if participation in that thing cannot really propel our lives.
Starting point is 03:17:54 Again, we saw the same thing, people talking about doing a market when these are companies that are making, they're doing and making more than the average man, but somehow we feel like we're bigger than that, more than that, which is crazy to me. Crazy. I think, yeah, bringing us do you say no no go ahead i don't think jamaica's reality is not it's not there in any way shape or from people to think that like like average income are jamaicans average network are
Starting point is 03:18:27 jamaicans it's crazy to me that we somehow have this adopted classes before things like when the reality is most of us are not in that position that's true and and then when you check people are at that upper level. I mean, the ones are really doing it. I'm not talking about somebody who works on me and I talk for somebody else money. People with that strong level of money. They're not looking at all these things because when you hear it.
Starting point is 03:18:52 You know it is with a man that buys companies. He's very happy to hear it. Oh, you wait, I can get that for, because I know what that is. If I spend X amount and I get value on that money, that is almost enough. It doesn't need to somehow, oh, give me the great story of, oh, you know, this small company.
Starting point is 03:19:10 became grace. The supermarket I bought became, you think about, that's a good example. I have a supermarket and I buy two more supermarkets versus, oh, I'm only by a supermarket if it can become grace. No, no, no, no. The value in your money is where you put
Starting point is 03:19:27 the money. So I bought this thing and the returns I get out in this thing is great. That's all it needs to be. It doesn't need to somehow be this great story. I think and we speak about the people that do this, people speak about them, they idolize them, so they never seem to recognize that what they're actually doing is what they do. Yeah, the people, I, I learn the people that talk like that are the people I don't listen to because they don't know what they're talking
Starting point is 03:19:54 about. Exactly. Exactly. They don't know what they're talking about. The people actually took me a long time to learn it. And then I learned it, I started seeing it everywhere in all kinds of places. How do I get, I need to get, which is what I think you do really well, get. Get, people that live a understanding of what is really happening with people and their money so we're actually doing it a lot no it's it's allowing people to understand what the thing that they think is amazing really is that's really well you know the thing you think is amazing what it really is how it what it's made up of right everybody love atlantic no but you have a friend that owner hardware that's all it is that's all it is it's a hardware with a with a guy who understands
Starting point is 03:20:44 vc behind it that link another guy who said he wanted to you guys heard him when he was here a couple weeks ago you said you know i this idea and i can do it i'm sorry to buy it but i need you to run it that's all it is and and also i will say another thing we should do move away from what i call rich man theory everybody is going to rich man theory. I have this wonderful idea and I can do this thing with his phone. So because I can do this phone, I should say it in front of a rich man and he's going to see it and he's going to give me the money because I can't. What? At the core of a thing, if the thing is good and it can make money, if there's some value in there, you should be able to prove it by generating that value on
Starting point is 03:21:32 it's on. If you need, I'm not, that's, that's the one thing. Everybody wants, everybody wants a leg up or a hand to pull them up. No, and not that you shouldn't get it and you will get it. You will get it. It just doesn't look away. Yeah, man. It's a handle.
Starting point is 03:21:48 It's not a, it's not. Yes. You're like, you're not really because you raise the money. But it's apparent, it will come. Exactly. There are things. But it's coming to save it. There are things.
Starting point is 03:22:01 There are things. that because of the work of doing my money, JA, that I've seen with the market. And it has made it clear, like, immediately I came to that decision of, if this thing is as valuable as I think it is, then it should be able to make money. So if you don't do it, then you know it's wrong, right? Like, you know, if my money, JA is good enough, you know, I'll shout out to believe it or not firmament, who said it, whatever last year was on here, He is saying about, I had said something and he said, you know, if I ever thought of doing a
Starting point is 03:22:38 ad with that and I said, you know, not good try officer. But going back to that point where like if my manager is so good at helping you manage your portfolio, keep up with the market, do the research, that if somebody is even slightly interested and follow it up, they should be able to make money, then it should be able to help them make money, right? I should be able to see the people do it and make money. Just like the same thing. We grow.
Starting point is 03:23:04 If it's that good, people should be able to do it. and you should be able to hear them say them to grow and then make money and then worsen to grow and use my money jay but what have we seen the people have done that that's exactly what they say the people i use my money jay i actually use them see it's like yo you can't stop you i cannot use it now it makes a world a difference and you get that sort of thing where if the thing is actually able to make money on its own yes somebody can come and pay you for the thing and that's great but pretend that nobody's going to come and for the thing. Pretend there's no rich man that's coming to save you. How are you going to do it on your own? Can the thing do it on its own? You have a business? Do you actually have a business? Or do you have
Starting point is 03:23:48 the revenue from the last two rich men who gave you money? Because as soon as that revenue done, you know, or as Buffett put it more eloquently, you know, when the water goes out, we'll see who's been swimming naked, right? If you if you weren't swimming naked, if you can't, if you can actually generate revenue, then the rich man money helps you to continue to generate more of that revenue and you can run on your own. How long can you run about rich man money? Yeah, so for the people listening and having business, I'm not looking at rich man, think about that, can't say that and don't think your thing too small. Your thing is not too small, for you to be able to be thinking along the lines of the market and the micro market is going to
Starting point is 03:24:34 to make that even more apparent. Like, yeah, the micro-max is the last time. I seriously wish that, yo, wish I had a little digital broker. I've had a digital brokerage, like two or three immediate micrormacid candidates. And they're not telling them, no, you're not going to be, you're not going to be, Hilo. You know, you're not going to be, you're not going to be wig ton. But, yo, people come your place and wash car every day, right?
Starting point is 03:25:02 And you, like, there's a guy. there's a guy who knows how to run a car wash. There's a guy who knows how to run a car wash. There's car wash is all over. But there's a guy out there who actually knows how to run a car wash. I knew this because when I was doing taxes, when I started to actually learn, like what? Don't say learn.
Starting point is 03:25:23 But when I started to understand and appreciate how to do, like what it takes to have taxi on the road in a real way, like as a business, not as a host, as a business. like what the every four weeks like it's on a schedule so I have the places where I go and then you have a mechanic that you're actually good with and so nothing is wrong with the car but you run a taxi so every six weeks you go to the mechanic and they change everything no we don't have to change it no change it no and because I do that I don't have to change out the whole front end once a year because I do the regular maintenance which I don't need to do but that my what I started
Starting point is 03:26:01 to learn that, I realized that, oh, I could have a hundred taxes on the road because I get it. That guy exists in another area. He knows exactly how to run a, our girl. He knows exactly how to run a car wash. He knows how to run a car wash to manage a water bill, how to manage the things there, how to manage the flow customers, how to stop the people from stealing, how to make sure that the quality of the work is good. And he don't know how to be the biggest financial guy in the finance space, but he knows how to
Starting point is 03:26:31 run a car wash. If you give him two in no to run two, I can give him six in know to run six. That guy, I want to meet that guy with our girl with him first or in second. I'm looking money to get to the third. That's the micro-marking. And and and, and what that is the story of the big guy of the thing that becomes GK. We could keep discrediting the start in the hope that we can find it later as the thing. Imagine participating at GK when it was just a family company that doing some food thing. That, that, that, we often try to, often, again, we want to see the thing after it don't work out to the biggest server, forgetting that, when the guy started, when Rita started by Rita, she, her vision, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, what the thing she's starting is. oh i need this brokerage because i need i i think there's a level of finance that can be
Starting point is 03:27:37 offered to people at a certain level and done well and i'm gonna do it and then somebody see down the line and say oh hey day this thing is just what it is it's big enough it can be something else and add to it that that story starts somewhere start small i feel so bad i should i say it at first because like i've seen it first hand with love when i was talking to kumala i'll never forget the day Kimba was doing something and she had numbers in for that as they're helping on something else. I looked on it. I just saying her numbers and I looked at one I said,
Starting point is 03:28:11 I said both of these things. I don't remember which I remember I said first. I think I said, you know this, like I said this can list. Like this, gosh, no, no, no, no. But she knows I know this stuff. And I go, well,
Starting point is 03:28:28 I mean, I'm like, Kimala, I don't. if I said something can list, it can list. This, this, because I'm looking at a stellar company, not because she's the stock market, Maeve Najavit, but because she knows how to run a company well, she's really good at finding talent, and she knows how to manage a production well. What does the lab do?
Starting point is 03:28:47 All of those things. All of that. But if you'd see it, you'd have seen it before as the person who did a couple of digital ads, the person who did shoot some music video. But that's all it is. That's all these companies are. somebody doing one thing really well and it will lead to bigger and bigger and more and more.
Starting point is 03:29:04 That's all it is like it. You really, really good. I said, oh, this can list. And then I don't have time I said, you know, you're a billionaire.
Starting point is 03:29:11 I said, no, no, no, I'm going to remind you about that. And I reminded her the day that the IPO, I remember, I thought you're a billionaire.
Starting point is 03:29:17 Well, I waited to hit the break off. And then I said, you're a billionaire. But the point is, that's what it is. You don't have to know these big things. And when you meet the people,
Starting point is 03:29:28 at the top of these big things people i'm going to tell you they're just like you they don't know much either they don't know much they know the thing that they're in really really well they know that thing that's it and then that's why so many of them trust like the broker because i know how to not this one but i know how to if i'm jet can i know to sell cars really well i trust that you know the stock marketing and i tell you i want 90 million and you say i can get 90 million Yeah, if I do this, cool. I'm going to trust you, but I know to sell cars really, really well. I understand the car market really well.
Starting point is 03:30:08 That's all it is. And yeah, the micro market is going to allow a lot more of that. As long as we have brokers who can see what you just hear Dan and I talking about and are interested in it. Mayberry was interested in for the junior market. You're saying the other thing happened. Go back and check the history. Junior market launched in 2008, never looked. until Mayberry list
Starting point is 03:30:30 access in 2009. Then when them list access in 2009, still nothing. Then them list another one, still nothing. Then them list another one, still nothing. Then them list another one, still nothing. I did it again and again and again and again till nothing.
Starting point is 03:30:45 Now, companies talk with prestige about going and bringing a company to the juvenile market, as they should. The junior market. But go back. It takes, it took somebody to believe it was ugly. Yeah, man. And to show, say, yo, this is, there's something here.
Starting point is 03:31:01 I know Mayberry is so big. I'm not gonna say that there's so big that they can, the micro, but obviously micro would move the books as much for them, based on how big their books I've got no. But you all, the rest of you brokerages, the rest of you people in the finance space, you're not Mayberry.
Starting point is 03:31:15 You're not baritia. Yeah, that's reality. You're not doing it like them. Yeah, so do it where you are. Link your Bertrand, that did that one thing really, really well. Invest in him. They're better in that, that, that, What I look for and tell you what early things I look for is if they have their numbers,
Starting point is 03:31:32 if they know them business well, if they manage them business well. If them care about the business more, them care about being known as running the business, also a really good sign. Look for the CEO, not the people interested in calling themselves CEO. And it hasn't failed yet. That sign hasn't failed yet. And hopefully we'll find out of the smaller brokers doing it. On that note, you saw that it is.
Starting point is 03:32:01 public so you saw that that thing uh with phc f hc yeah yeah yeah i'm hoping so the they're there their meeting is coming up on your general meeting and on it consider is a divestment of up to a hundred percent of f hc investment so my wonder is if it's been bought or or listed i hope it's listed i hope it's listed i hope it's listed i hope they're listing it same i hope they're listening it and i hope that they care about the micrmarket because they're in the perfect place to care about the they're in the spot yep oh my god if it's a link up now i have a brokerage system for you i can bring the retail to you and you guys aren't too big to care about the retail and yeah i can give you all the secrets to the retail and um and you make a you make a nice amount of money and in
Starting point is 03:32:57 a couple of those retailers are a couple of small business owners that would love to be listed on the micro market yeah in 10 years it can be the next what's small small what was smaller than barita but bigger than bigger than former SSL or you call that i want to say VM because VM kind of big still i know everything about that one oh yeah having said that thank you guys very very much i mean uh i don't know if there's anything else you want said a night otherwise i'm rapping i think i think i'll say that i think i'll say it now so big up people see you guys next week And as usual, keep investing.
Starting point is 03:33:56 Yeah, please. Yeah. And don't forget that JSC point. Cap it with that. The JSC is the one thing that was here 10 years ago. And hopefully should be here 10 years later. And they are winning. That's a little secret.
Starting point is 03:34:10 Don't make the mistake of thinking that what's happening on the JSC is a reflection of what's happening in JSC. Yeah, the share prices are falling and people are bawling. share price can't fall without JC making money. And share prices are rising and everybody's happy. Share price can't rise without JC making money. And the market now has had a lot more activity than the same time last year. And I suspect, we know we have like a couple of big mergers and stuff and buyouts and something happening.
Starting point is 03:34:44 And all of those things also can't happen without JC making money. So that's my third, next trend Jamaica, if you will. Having said that, you linked and I to have him actually help you find your own personal next TransJameca. And don't embarrass her nothing just because we thought about it. I don't bother run goodbye, JC, because I would say it, right? If you did that other day, JC closed today below 10, if not below 9. And, you know, don't just buy Transjamaica because we didn't mention it so much time, although Transamerica is cool too. But yeah, link that I if you don't want to know how to do it,
Starting point is 03:35:26 but you want somebody with sense to guide you along the lines, link me, everymicle.com slash GRWR to learn how to do it yourself. And My Moneyj.a.com to help you throw out the whole thing regardless of whichever way you go, right? This thing is great and it's only getting better. And listen to us every week if you want to hear a sensible view on the market. And you want to give us your sensible view on the market. Having said that, thank you guys very, very much. to share, so if you're spending some of the games this week. I don't know if I'm supposed to
Starting point is 03:35:56 say that, but sorry, I wasn't. But, but I, yeah, I was sure. To share and yeah, it's been around Brick talk. I'm a great night, guys. Come on, best of you.
