Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Empty Netters podcast. Can you believe what this has become? There was a full 48 hours where I felt like I was like literally Superman. Jumbo loves playing Fortnite, so he gets on the sticks. Did TR show you the sauna cycle, or was that all year? No, no, I invented that. Almost a year now that I haven't taken a body check. That's kind of nice.
Starting point is 00:00:20 So we are back. We are horned up, and we are going deep. Finish tonight with some chicken fingers and a few guineasasas and you guys. That's where this pod came to life. Ice is ready and we're back with another episode of the Empty Netters podcast brought to you by BetMGM. Everybody like the video, subscribe to the page, five star reviews on Spotify and Apple wherever you get your podcasts. I'm your host, Dano. We got Dr. Watkins on the sticks.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Hi. CP over here. We are ready to rock. Week two of the NHL 2026-27 season is in the books and we are here ready to break. it all down. Gentlemen, stand out attention because Igor Shisterkin is done for the season. As always. I got a
Starting point is 00:01:23 blue lemonade that is fizz-free in honor of Igor going down because the season that was full of Fizz is now Fizz free. The blue season that was full of Fizz is now frizz-free, pour one out into my mouth. Do you think Igor Shisterkin appreciates that shameless plug in honor of his dead body.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Yes, I'm doing this for you. Igor, this is for you. I respect it. Igor Shosturkin is done for the season and the question remains is the New York Rangers season also dead. I can't believe the whiplash
Starting point is 00:02:01 that exists with being a New York Rangers fan. This has been a fucking roller coaster for your boy. I love how the NHL, I'm pretty sure this is unique to the NHL where they don't have to say the injury where the NFL is like
Starting point is 00:02:17 turf toe and everything and hockey goes upper body. We even laugh when someone gets a clear conk. They get an elbow straight to the fucking temple, can't see straight, thinks they're Batman and it goes like this out two weeks, upper body. Upper body, upper body injury for a concussion is truly like the knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Starting point is 00:02:37 getting his leg chopped off and saying it's a flesh wound. When people get conk and their brain turns to applesauce. And they go like this upper body injury. I'm like, good job, NHL. Way to keep it disclosed. Dude, I actually love it. Undisclosed.
Starting point is 00:02:51 I love it. I love how it's all sneaky. What makes me laugh, though, is when it's season ending. Because I'm like, who cares, dude? Like they go, they go, Shesty. Out for the season. Lower body. You rat fucks.
Starting point is 00:03:04 And I'm like, so Torres-A-L. Lower body. It's like, I've never seen the secrecy extend to a season. He's an ender, but it really killed me. It's just a weird play. PLD comes down. Nice little move. Chesty gets big, gets out of the crease,
Starting point is 00:03:19 Tim Thomas style. PLD wheels around the net. Shesty then shoots back into the net. And he did exactly what he wanted to do. Skate right into the post to hold his line, but then the momentum just took him too far, and then that thing snapped like a wishbone. Who, there's it, this is a nightmare, obviously.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Yeah. Who do you? I would like to assign percentage of, blame for this injury. Okay. Do you want to make one party the post as an entity, or do you want to make one party the... I don't think we can place blame on inanimate objects that are in exactly the place they're supposed to be. If that net came bursting out of the post pegs, yeah, I would say weak foundation, and now I blame it, but it did exactly what it was supposed to. Okay, so I'm
Starting point is 00:04:09 with you, Dan. I'm going zero percent post. Post. Post. Post. pegs, which are literally 0% to come out to prevent this moment. No. They are, in fact, they are supposed to hold their ground when the goaltender is doing exactly that. Unless it's with enough force that would cause you to have a season ending injury. Then I think that you as the
Starting point is 00:04:25 goaltender should know what type of force to use. I'm not blaming Chesty, but we are not going to blame. I won't let you put more than 5% blame on the post peg. If you put more than 5%, put more than 5%, you're a bitch. I want to go six.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Percent? Yep. You can't. I just said, well, I can't. I just be a bitch. Okay, fine, except cosign being a bitch. And you can do it.
Starting point is 00:04:49 5% on the post peg. That leaves 95% of blame on this catastrophic injury on two people. I disagree. I think there's way more factors of play. Okay. What are yours? I think at least 51% needs to go to me. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Yeah, didn't we just post like a kind of a kind of, Rangers hype. Yeah, we did 100%. And all I've been doing, and I've got more coming. What was the timestamp on? I've got more coming this week. I'm, I've been, I as I got on the ride or die list, I have been gassing up this team. I have been gassing up this player specifically. There's just no world where me putting all of this in the ether doesn't come crashing down on me. Okay. There's no way I'm giving you the most percentage. Yeah. So I'll give you 25% of it. Okay. So the 5% on post peg, 25% on you, so we're at 30%. The other, the remaining 70%, Chesty, not for hitting the post, because you're right, that is, that is technique. Shesty for being too horny. On third street when PLD was coming down the slot there. I have never seen a goalie so far out.
Starting point is 00:06:11 in my life, except for when Patrick Waugh dangled the great one at center fucking ice. Or what about when Dominic Hacacac took out Marion Gabbard? Yeah, great one. Or literally any time Tim Thomas played hockey. So I don't want to blame him for getting big, dude. You got to get big. Yeah, but he doesn't, Dan, you of all people need to know that Chesty could crawl into the net and save every puck ever shot at him.
Starting point is 00:06:36 He doesn't need to do anything. He's the best goalie to ever live. And he decided to come get inside PLD shirt. If he hadn't gone so far out, none of this would have happened. Well, what about the, I think it was he was too horny getting back. No, no, that was the good part. That was like, I was like, he's incredible. Look at him.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Look at it. This is perfect technique. Getting back was amazing. Literally is what injured him. I know, but that was technique. Like you said, everything was, everything was there was. But he was too horny. He shot too hard.
Starting point is 00:07:03 You just said he should know the force he needs to go into the post of it. Yeah, and he went, he went too hard. Okay, so it is, we're pushing blame on him for going too hard. Yes. I'm putting the blame on him for just being too far out there in the first place, requiring him to go too hard. Yes. Okay, so let's go, of the remaining 70, let's go. Well, 51 me. No, no, I give you 25 and that's right. No, no, I'm taking 51. I will not let this fall on Chesterty. You cannot have the highest percentage of blame here because... I absolutely fucking can. Chesty was out of his fucking mind. Hey, wait, hold on. Let me just check something real quick. Oh, it's me doing exactly that. I am taking 51. I'm going to be a man and I'm going to take this blame. I'm not letting the blame fall. on Rangers fans, the Rangers team, or Shisterkin. Shisterkin needs to answer for his horniness, and he will.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Sure. But in a minority stake, the majority stake is me. I am the owner of this blame. He can be a minority owner. Be my guest. I welcome you into my ownership group, Igor Shisterkin, but I am the majority owner of this blame group. 25% you, 25% Shesty.
Starting point is 00:08:08 So that's... I don't know what you're doing. 55 with the post peg. Stop wasting airwave time. You're saying these dumb, random numbers. I have just taken 51%. The only person who can refute that is me. I took 51.
Starting point is 00:08:24 You can keep saying 25 and wasting everyone's time if you want. I was doing my post peg and you steamrolled my number. Because you are not a ride or die. I ride or die for post pegs. Are you kidding me? I've been ride or dying for post pegs for fucking seasons. Seasons, dude. Unbelievable you would question my post.
Starting point is 00:08:41 POSTPeg fandom right now. That is insane, dude. You've been riding or dying for the Rangers for two weeks. That is actually fair. As like the captain of Protect Our Goalies, post pegs falls into that. That's true. But this, as we decided, they are not to blame here. Well, we were deciding how much to blame they were, and I am the authority on that. I have taken this. You have to give me 51%. The clear... 49% you can dole out now. The clear majority of the blame here is on PLD. the fact that P, just shoot the puck. Shoot the puck, dude.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Like, the fact that PLD goes down there, and Jesse goes out, and you know, Dan, I know for a fact that PLD was like this, if I go around, if I pump fake this and go around the net. Do you think PLD, when he collected that puck and turned the corner and went around the net, as he flew by Chesty, he went, enjoy your time off with an ACL injury, you bitch.
Starting point is 00:09:36 There's no way he is not going to come flying back into the bed. Indivision rival who's off to a super hot, start. He went like this. I'm just going to injure your I know how secure these post pegs are. This is my rink that was in Washington. I mean, yeah, it was in Washington, wasn't it? Yeah, it was. He goes, I know how secure these post pegs are.
Starting point is 00:09:53 I play here all the time. He planted. He planted. It's a cement peg. And he goes, the second he went on the court. Has anyone checked the pegs? That's what I'm saying, dude. You were trying to give it 5%. It's probably 95%. Well, I wouldn't, I didn't know it was potentially sabotaged if we're talking about normal pegs. Okay, again. Ask me next time.
Starting point is 00:10:10 You, I'm trying to tell you. You're just withholding this information the whole time. I'm trying to humiliate you. I'm trying to entrap you. So PLD planted, our good friend PLD, planted cement post pegs with the predetermined plan to injure Igor Schisturkin because they were getting too big. But then I, Rangers were off to too hard to start.
Starting point is 00:10:30 But I do believe that he regretted it the moment he took him wide. It was one of those moments where you're like, I'm sorry. Yeah, like you do it. And then you go, he looked back and was like, wait, no, Chesterney, don't. because he knew the plan was working for two perfectly and it was all going to happen and then bang right into the post. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:46 You're trying to take, this kid's trying to take 51% of this, dude. PLD killed him. I will take 51%. Rangers fans. Know that just because of this injury, I'm not going anywhere. The ride or die does not stop.
Starting point is 00:10:56 We will overcome. We will survive this. And I am taking the blame so none of you have to worry about it. Don't worry about who is to blame or how we're going to deal with this. I am taking it. I will deal with this.
Starting point is 00:11:07 You guys, rest easy. Sleep easy. We're going to be fine. Well, no, but sleep easy in terms of whose fault it was because it was dance. Is there an out here? Is there an option here? I was about to say I love the idea of a very depressed Rangers fan being like fucking PLD and genuinely meaning it because that can't be the case here.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Is there an option here? Because I've seen a lot of people, there were a lot of people in hockey talk yesterday being like this, can we get hellabuck? And I was like, absolutely not. and that is an insane thought. But I understand in our grief, the insane thought. I'll tell you why that is an insane thought, because Igor Shosturkin is your goalie.
Starting point is 00:11:48 He is still young, and he will be fine coming back from this. You cannot have a Connor Hullabuck and what that would cost to get him and Igor Shostrken on your roster moving forward in the future. And you need to keep that in mind with many of the other goleys who have been mentioned, like a gust of sin, for example. What's the Rangers cap space? Four million or so. Because I wonder what you could do.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I've got a bunch of options. I know, but I'm just saying this about like the Hellebuck option, nuclear option. You could absolutely trade for, if you could make the money work. Yeah. If you could absolutely trade for Connor Hellebuck this season and then trade him at the end of next. And tell him like, yo, we are trading you. And you would get a pretty good haul back. You'd be basically like refill the tank anyway and be like, we did it.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Okay. Well, let me say something crazy to you. What if they traded for Connor Hellebuck and then won the Stanley Cup? I go, you're going to go like this, we're trading him still. Yes, because you go, I disagree. We believe Chesty's just as good, and we've made a promise to the man we love. But Connor Hullabuck is not coming off an ACL repair and just won you a Stanley Cup and a gold medal right before that and is on a lower cap hit. I think you want.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Dude, then in that case, I would have, I personally, I thought I was trying to help you out there. I would personally trade Igor immediately if that happened. You're out of your mind. Why wouldn't you? But because you're just opening a lot, you're opening a can of worms. But a can of worms that's delicious and filled with Stanley Cup. They're gummy worms. Yeah, it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:13:09 They're twin snakes. And I'm like, oh, this is sick. We should have had these worms the whole time. Why have we been having these Russian worms which tear their ACLs? I think. Russian worms are bitches. It's too many variables. You're being out.
Starting point is 00:13:21 You're being crazy. But there are options. Yeah. There are options. Option number one that people are talking about is Jonathan Quick. I'm going to nip that in the bud right now. That's not happening. It's not happening.
Starting point is 00:13:33 He's enjoying retirement. He's not coming out of retirement. Now, I do believe that. If the Rangers were to call Jonathan Quicken, they're like, dude, we fucking need you. He would consider it. But I don't think it's going to happen. Now, Elvis Merslickens is in Toronto. What about that?
Starting point is 00:13:51 That's something to consider. Yes. I also think there's a shooter tutor in the MSG lobby. They could consider too. I think that that's very rude and didn't need to be set. Because if you were an adult and a kind person, We were just going to move past that idea and go, it's probably not the right idea. But instead, you got personal.
Starting point is 00:14:19 Here's another one. Tristan Jari's in Edmonton. Do you want to say something mean? Yes. Would you like to say something mean? Yeah, and I'll go after you. Would you like to reference a traffic cone? Yeah, I think there's a goal you could flip.
Starting point is 00:14:30 You know, sometimes you flip the goal on its front and push it to the back of the goal. We could do that. What if you make it so you only score when you hit the post? Yeah, we could play three posts. Yeah. The Rangers could do it. That would actually be Numbies. If they were like, new rule.
Starting point is 00:14:41 You roll for us specifically. Every time you play the Rangers, we'd do three posts. Dude, how sick would that be if we watched a full game of three posts in the NHL? It'd probably be fun. I bet it'd be a high-scoring game. Yeah, it would be awesome. So we're not going to do those two goalies. Yep.
Starting point is 00:14:56 You didn't need to be mean, but you were, and it is what it is. Here is a very real one. Aden Hill. Aiden Hill. He'd go to New York. I think he absolutely would. Yeah, me do. And I have an extra thing to say here. It feels like the Vegas Golden Knights are very much going with 79 as their goal.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Like that is how they've been playing the season and they're a fucking wagon. Aidan Hill is on a $6.25 million contract until 2031. So like he is signed. He's 30 years old. I and he is a backup. You could make a trade that I am not entirely sure. would cost that much money, or that many prospects and picks, rather. It would help Vegas out cap-wise.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Vegas would need to call up a goalie and have a different backup situation. But you could get Aiden Hill into New York to play out the rest of the season as your starter, hopefully do really well, revitalize his career. And then, yeah, next year, you go this, like enter next summer, New York Rangers. And all of a sudden you go like this, look at this asset we have. Aiden Hill just played great all season in front of our good, exciting, fucking awesome team. You trade Aiden Hill. All of a sudden you go like this, unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Look at what we did. Revitalize his career, get a haul back for him. You help Vegas out a little bit. Vegas would probably be open to it. It's an idea. It's an idea for sure. He's actually such a valuable backup. You know, like I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:30 He obviously wants to be a starter. But if I'm Vegas, I'm kind of like, no. Well, for sure. Yeah, I love this. That is the thing that Vegas is like you have Aiden Hill. under contract for so long. It was amazing. Yeah. You have to assume Aidan Hill is like, I want to fucking start. So that's something to consider. Now here's the big one. Grand looks good. He's got the white helmet. He's got the like, I was not prepared for this. I woke up and all of a sudden I was
Starting point is 00:16:56 important at my job situation going on. But my point is this dude. If you believe this team is legit and you get through, let's call it 10 more games here and you are legit and Grant is your guy, why make a move? Yeah. So to me, I go... Let it breathe. Ten game sample size. Put it in a decanter.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Ten game sample size. See how Garand does. And if he's buzzing, you go like this, we have to do nothing here. Yep. And then you use the LTIR space of Shasturkin.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Yep. And you make a fucking move at the deadline. God, dude. Cup is back on. So brutal that they doesn't get the LTIR perks that you would normally get.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And how about the absolute... I guess I think will if it's through playoffs. But yeah, go on. Clap job they did last night, Sunday night, getting a win. Like everyone's freaking out
Starting point is 00:17:37 about Shep. Jesse easy five to win and fucking we got the boys I mean it was the Canucks no offense Canucks but laugh is just still buzzing Gabe is still buzzing I mean yeah there is this is devastating but I do not think there's any any reason to panic just yet the I love the Mike and what do you want him to say but I love the Mike Sullivan comments about um you say it's Garan right is that how you say grand yeah about grant I did my my homework to make sure it is grand so he goes, Grand got, was going to be the backup this year. And then the Rangers were like, ugh, I don't think he is a capable NHL backup.
Starting point is 00:18:17 So they sign. And now he's about to start 75 games. Then they waive him. So then, because they were like, we don't need him on our NHL roster. He clears waivers. But because so no other NHL team goes, oh, we should sign him. Yeah. He gets sent to the A.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Yeah. And then all of this happens. And now he's starting. And Mike's all of them's comments were like, we don't, don't, don't, don't, misconstrue those roster moves as us not thinking he's a worthy H. Coelie. And I was like, well, that is exactly what those rochstra. No. No. And quite literally is like, we are waving you from our NHL team because you are not as good as these guys. And then now they're like, he's fine. Like, I know. I know. And by the way, this wouldn't be the first time someone was
Starting point is 00:18:58 wrong about a wrong scouting a goalie. So he actually could be nasty. And they're like, we fucking hit the jackpot. This is such a tricky one because I am the biggest early is all that matters in the NHL season guy. I was rambling about the Thanksgiving code. You know, if you're in playoffs by Thanksgiving, you're in playoffs. But I think it's right away. I swear to God, it's everyone can, you know, point to the 2019 blues who are in last place at New Year's.
Starting point is 00:19:23 There's certainly outliers. But if you're good through 10 games of the NHL season, you're good. And I already know it and never changes. If you're bad, you're bad. If you're good, you're good. And there's, again, Oilers went 0-10 and went to the cup. Like, I get it. But for the most part, this is right.
Starting point is 00:19:38 So the Rangers are officially good. And I'm like, oh, wow, which is crazy because they were the lowest odds across every sports book in the world on the in the mat. Like, this team is bad. And they're like, actually, we're good. So it sucks to have a good team and lose your best player who is also the goalie, which is such a nightmare. And it feels like a waste of a season if you don't go do something to try to get in the mixer here. I think you are, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, brought up, you did the research on that 20 game sample size. I think you're being too knee jerky
Starting point is 00:20:12 with this. I don't, I don't believe in the 10 games. Yeah, I'm, I was saying I'm the most early as all that matters guy in the world. I think we've seen this so many times. We saw it last year with teams who get off to like an insanely hot start in the first 10 games. And everyone's like, oh my God. And then they miss playoffs by like 20 points. And I'm like that. 20 games, I do believe matters a shit ton. But I will say, and we'll get into this as we do our right. or die recaps, the Rangers look amazing. And I'm so proud of them for that response last night. So we're not panicking yet. We are sad. We are very sad. We are mourning this situation. But I do not think we need to panic yet. And as I've listed, there are options. The number one option might be
Starting point is 00:20:56 right in our own house. So not to worry. Now we have a return of the king, the return of Connor Baddard. Back at practice, Connor Bedard in Chicago, potentially playing tonight as you're listening, potentially playing on Tuesday night, Connor Bardard back in the lineup.
Starting point is 00:21:17 The question is, Chris, isn't enough. Because I hate to say it, as I have been gassing up the Blackhawks for two months now, things look pretty butt. The interesting thing is you've said,
Starting point is 00:21:32 but I've agreed, if the Sharkslaught celebrate, Breeney, they would be bad, you know, which is actually probably maybe less true now, but that's how it felt, right? So it's unfair for me to go, to not give the Blackhawks the same luxury, right? Like, well, you lost Bidar. So now if you add Badaard, you're good. But I will say, God damn. And we had, we had joked, not to get into the fucking spike ball thing again, Christ, but we had joked that he probably won't miss that much time. He's a young buck. And it's like six games. He plays tonight while you're listening. He missed six games. It's amazing.
Starting point is 00:22:03 but I did want to see a little bit more. I would have been happier if I saw a little bit more life out of Chicago before he was back, just to be more excited. But I do think he's that good. I do think he's that good that it could completely change the look of Chicago and you go, oh, wow, the trickle down is amazing now. It is a slightly alarming. They're through six games and Frondell has four points.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Nazar has three points. And like everyone else has like two. Bowen Byram has not done much. We did have, we had an electric preseason hat trick by Bowen Byram. But Spencer Knight is getting kind of lit up like a Christmas tree here because the team in front of them is not buzzing that well. It feels like through six games, which is not a lot. We wanted more of a jump from some of these guys, especially given that Bada was out of the lineup. It was kind of like, let's see what you guys can do. And they're just not doing much of anything. Yep. Which is just a bump. What would you say you do here? It's unfortunately not a lot. But. He's a people person.
Starting point is 00:23:14 What's wrong with you people? I think there is a world where we get a little bit of revitalization with Baderd back in the lineup. And we got something else. Gentlemen, standard attention. RIP Mike Dicka. Oh. Chicago Sports Legend. That was a dagger.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I was actually very bound about that. All-time football guy. Yep. All-time movie star. Yep. All-time cigar smoker. Also from Pittsburgh. Can you just please not make this about you?
Starting point is 00:23:57 For one second. I think the return of Connor Bardard and the honoring of Mike Ditka could be exactly what they need. What the Blackhawks need. Yeah. They're going to do a video, right? They got to do something.
Starting point is 00:24:13 They did a moment of silence at the game. Oh, they did. They already did. Okay, okay, okay, okay. That's good. I'm pretty sure. We've got... Hawks fans checked me on that,
Starting point is 00:24:22 but I'm pretty sure I saw that online. We've got an opportunity here, is what I'm saying. We've got a big time opportunity for the Chicago Blackhawks. Badard is back. It's going to be the first time he's on the ice with a C on his shirt in a regular season game. Oh, sick. Yeah, yeah. Extremely sick.
Starting point is 00:24:37 He comes out of that tunnel. Chicago's a new team. What if he came out? Now, I don't do this. I have a lot writing on this. I said this is going to be a career year. And dude, especially if he comes now, only misses six games, there will be no asterisk on this at all. You know how in Florida State when the guy, the chief seminal comes flying out on a horse in full dress robes?
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah. Yes. Yeah. If Bedard came flying out onto the ice on horseback in full Chief Blackcock dressrobes and fired a hockey stick that had a spear at the bottom of it into the center ice, what would you do? would they do this roughly 30 minutes before puck drop so they would have time to repair the ice? No. So we're just going to play with a massive divot in the ice? Well, it's just a hole.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I think that would be a little, well, it's not like a hole. It's like a little, the arrow had to be incredibly impressed about a horse trotting on the ice. Yeah, does the horse have skates? I think he has special horseshoe skate shoes. Oh, it's like ice climbing. His horseshoes have ice climber divvits. That would actually probably work. I think so too.
Starting point is 00:25:42 I actually think the horse would be completely unfaced. Are there? Are there? Ice horses. Would that be a good hockey team name? The ice horses. A new USHL team. Ice boots.
Starting point is 00:25:54 The Albuquerque ice horses. Ice stallion? Oh, shit. An ice stallion's pretty good. An ice mare. Also good. There you go. Oh, whoa.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Never mind. This is the wrong thing. Oh, wait. What did you search? They're ice horseshoes. And I found something that they do have for horses called ice boots, but they're actually, that's for... To keep them warm?
Starting point is 00:26:13 No, no, to heal them. Like, I need to ice my ankle, and they give them ice boots. That's cool. That's very cool. But they also have specialized traction for winter ice shoes, which is what I was looking for. They just don't have a cool name. But get them some of those. Get them some of those.
Starting point is 00:26:28 Badaard comes out. I think that would change all the season. Do you think that that would be at all problematic? No. I think it would be cool. I think we ignore it, and it would be awesome. I think we got a hell. hammer a Baderd anytime goal score if he plays tonight.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Fuck. Me too. In what world would we not? Because he still scoring. We both have him scoring 40 still. In what world would we not? Yeah, let's hit that. If Badard plays, he sees this team is struggling that they desperately need him, they're home, right? Let's hit that for sure. Are they, they're home tonight? Uh, they are, yeah, check that, check that, check that. Tuesday night. It's not actually tonight. It's Tuesday night, but as you are all listening, it's tonight.
Starting point is 00:27:11 If they're home, we are smashing a badard anytime goal score a fee place. And you're all doing it with us. Log on to bed MGM. We're pumping that. Oh, on, yeah, tomorrow they're going to be at home against the penguins. Oh, my God. Just Watkins. Which is where Pittsburgh, did you know that Mike Ditka was born in Alecquip outside of Pittsburgh?
Starting point is 00:27:32 It always the penguin. Everything. It's always the thing. It all comes back to Pittsburgh. It all goes back to Pittsburgh. You. Anyway. Unbelievable. Well,
Starting point is 00:27:42 Connor Bard needs to be... I mean, he can't come soon enough. Yeah. He simply cannot come soon enough. He simply cannot. And this is going to be fun. It is going to be fun. I need a full reset of the Blackhawks season.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Watch this. Six games, deleted. Begin. Deleted, save. Save over. Save over file. Old file. Deleted. Saved. Doesn't even exist anymore. Empty trash. Empty trash.
Starting point is 00:28:04 What if we get to the end of the season, they go, guys, you know those first two games we play, we play, we're just going to take them off. Yeah. Well, just like, you know, like, when you get to, like, a great British bakeoff and they're like, like, we're going to eliminate nobody. Yes. Like, when you have one of those.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Dude, for such a lovely, amazing show, isn't it great when they do that? Yeah. Oh, that show is great. You get to see these people for a little bit longer. It's very, very special. Dude, that's what Ovi did this year with his announcement. Like, he played two games and he was like, yeah. Those don't count.
Starting point is 00:28:29 I'm retiring. It's like, it's amazing. CP, talk to us about that MGM. Yeah, let's take an ad break. be right back. Do you like hat tricks? I love hat tricks. And I'm not just talking about the bar in Tampa, which is absolutely incredible. I'm talking about a three-gold tuck from your favorite player. Take the lid. Toss it on the ice. See you later. Hope he picks it. If he doesn't, it gets donated, but it was worthy because you got to see a hat trick. I love those. And I also
Starting point is 00:28:55 love the BetMGM hat-trick Jack pro promotion because it's incredible. You can get your share of 10 Gs and bonus bets. Doesn't that sound good? Sounds pretty sick to me. All you're going to do is log into your Bet-MGM account. And then you choose an anytime goal score from any game you want, just picking any time goal score. And then two great things can happen. First great thing, that person scores, ka-ching, you've won the bet, you get the money, congratulations. Second great thing, that person scores three or more goals. Then ka-ching in a big way, because you get your share of $10,000 in bonus bets. If you have not signed up for the BetM-G-M-G-M-G-M- family yet, you need to do it right now using promo code netters. That's N-E-T-T-E-R-S when you sign up.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Then you're all in the hat-trick jackpot with us, and you'll get that new player offer because BenMGM always makes it legendary. Week two in the NHL season is in the books, so now it is time for some Tuesday morning overreactions. And we are going to go north of the border here and start in Toronto. The Leafs are a freight train from hell. The Leafs Cup is all the way back on. It's all the way back on.
Starting point is 00:29:59 People got chafed in our tears when they said Leaf's disaster start. And I was like, what do you mean? The Leafs have been, Bob has been lit up like a Christmas tree, and McKenna had the worst five-on-five edge, advanced, stat, nerd, money ball, money, puck, suck me, rating ever. And everything sucked. And Matthews hadn't scored. And I was like, the season is over.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And everyone sucks. And now, dude, look what three games can do. It's incredible. They are giving up a lot of goals still. I will say that, but I kind of don't care. You would even said this preseason, Bob, I don't need Bob to be the best regular season goalie of all time. I just need to be the best playoff goalie of all time. We just need to be good enough.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Just win games, get into playoffs, and then let Bob lock in. Yep, exactly. And then McFerda, dude, again, I just fucking made fun of the Moneypuck bitches, but they actually released another article that now he's the goat in MoneyPuck. And this pumped me up. The fastest... I can't fucking believe you're about to reference this if this is what you're about to reference. The fastest skater.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Unbelievably, don't fucking care. No, this what makes me laugh about it. Oh, I guess Celebrini was higher. I was laughing because it was like every year it gets broken. And I was like, yeah, people we just get faster. Like it's like the fucking 100 meter dash. They're like, oh, everyone, the good sky was faster than last year. Human beings are evolving.
Starting point is 00:31:23 I know. And they're like, oh my God. Celebrini and McKenna are the two fastest players ever. We should put like the old skates that they used to wear in like the 50s on these players. and see how fast they go. That's such a fair point. I would love to see. They were made of leather and weighed 50 pounds.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Yeah, it was like a steak knife glued to the bottom. Correct, but that killed me. I was like, oh yeah, no shit, dude, they get faster. But he's got a bunch of incredible ratings. I'm happy for him. It's incredibly impressive. I just don't care. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Like, it's, you know, that's cool. Yep. But. And then, dude, what I love. What I care about is how he's nasty. Yeah. What I loved is the, when you look at their stats, it's 100% the Matthews and Nealander show.
Starting point is 00:32:00 But to me, I say good. That's exactly what it should be. That's how this team has success. Look at Edmonton. And by the way, Dan, I checked this out. Nealander and Matthews have been on that team together since the 16-17 season. We are currently in the 26-27 season. And only once have they been the top two scorers and points on that team.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Well, that's because of Mitch Marner. For sure, but I'm just saying these two guys should be the guys stirring this drink. And they haven't due to injuries and incredible Marner seasons, incredible Tavares season sometimes. I'm not saying they didn't have guys. I'm just saying, let's fucking do it, boys. Carry the walking wagon, and that's how we're going to win. Stay healthy, but keep pumping in points, and then this team has nothing to worry about.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I'm so glad that we were hot and horny for Matthews at the beginning of the year. We had a huge Matthews bet in one of our future picks. Nealander, as we have talked about so many times, whenever he wants to be, he is one of, if not the best players on the ice. And it looks like he wants to be a lot so far this season. I'm so impressed that both Nealander and Matthews are buzzing offensively with Jim Hiller. It's not a knock on Jim Hiller, but as Jim Hiller is notoriously a defensively minded coach. So, hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Easton Cowan looks awesome. Oh, dude, that's another one. That's so exciting. Looks awesome. And then, yeah, Marchenko, you know, five points so far. Gavin, four points so far, that's great. Morgan Riley's playing really well. This is just, just a fantastic start.
Starting point is 00:33:30 After game one, people were kind of pooping their pants a little bit. Now, how could you not be fired up? Dude, we did it. We did it. We're going to the Eastern Conference Finals at minimum. Believers are on Fent right now. Careful. And I mean that in a good way.
Starting point is 00:33:52 The good Fent. The good Fent, clean Fent, if that exists. Yeah, is there a clean Fent? I would hope so because it's used in medical purposes. In medical practices. Yeah, yeah. What is Fent? Fentanyl is not a good thing.
Starting point is 00:34:05 But it must be. It's like a pain-killing drug that can be used to cut cocaine. It's incredibly strong. No, no, I know how many people are dying from. I'm saying, like, what is it? Like, why? How is it even a thing? It's like a pain killer.
Starting point is 00:34:16 So it's theoretically a good medical pain killer that people are supposed to be prescribed. And then in the drug deal is totally in. In practice, it can be used for good things. Yeah, so the good fent. Get the good friend. Good use of fend. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Oh, so it is only a drug. Or no, that's a painkiller. Yeah, opioids are, like all painkillers are opioids. Well, like an unsythetic opio would be like poppy seeds to give you like, that's what heroin cups. Yeah, I'm like, oh. Poppy seed muffin? But like, is, um, it's like a muffin kind?
Starting point is 00:34:46 Is Perks and Oxy? Is that a synthetic opioid? Yeah. Right. Yeah. Well, yeah. Because then they're, then they're prescribed and supposed to be used responsibly. And then people abuse that.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Yeah. So they're synthetic. Yeah, yeah. Okay. Okay. So yeah, dude, get on the prescription fent and only use it as instructed and then have a great year. Let's go, Toronto. It's phenomenal. It's like a true. Oh, dude, we're back on. We're cups back on. Right now we are believing hard. Matthews Rocket, Nealander, Hart, Bob, not Vesna, because it's regular season award, but yes, Kahn Smythe, we did it. We've won the cup. And I'm fired up about that. I mean, that's huge. Huge. Another thing I'm fired up about in a big way. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Oilers, I have an announcement to make.
Starting point is 00:35:37 The Oilers are literal geniuses. All the Edmonton Oilers have done. I second this, by the. Yeah. Yeah, this is a message from the Antenetter show. All the Edmonton Oilers have done is puke on themselves throughout the prime of one of the greatest players to ever live. And they can't get a McColley or they're overpaying the wrong people. They're firing coaches.
Starting point is 00:35:59 then your megastar, your mega, megastar, your mega, mega, mega, mega, mega star says, I'm taking a two, I will not sign a big extension. I'm taking a two-year deal and I might fucking leave. If you don't check yourself, I'm going to wreck yourself out of here. And they, the megastars, plural, during this moment of massive upheaval and potential change, they demand, literally demand. you get a new coach, not out of retirement, but out of the timeout chair. Who, who, who for me, timeout chair for being a dinosaur, like, war veterans screaming
Starting point is 00:36:39 about foreigners on his porch, you know? Like that, that is the guy that they are like, we need him. And in the first game of the year, they lose to the fucking Canucks, no offense. And the whole media goes, oh, man, well, that's Oilers hockey. And their, their relic coach goes, not that I've ever seen, implying like he's been locked in his cave with Blue Jackets voodoo dolls for years,
Starting point is 00:37:06 not watching the Oilers. He's just scrolling through texts, stealing people's phones and strolling through their text messages. Dude, yeah, his cave has a box of phones. Loose cell phones. He's just cracking into phones. So he's never seen, he's never seen the Oilers Hockey. And we all made fun of him when he said that.
Starting point is 00:37:19 I was like, oh, you haven't seen this, dude. But turns out he was right. He literally just didn't know that was the Oilers until after game one. And then it's not his fault. He didn't know. And now they haven't lost since. And I said before the season, they are careening towards worst case scenario, which is absolutely
Starting point is 00:37:34 dominant season, another finals appearance, loss. McDavid's Day's long-term extension. Everything implodes next year. And we are right on schedule for that. But man, this year is going to be fun as fuck. The oil leaders are going to win the president's trophy. And I'm fucking here. It is genuinely hilarious.
Starting point is 00:37:53 And I mean this in a good way. they have completely lit their hair on fire and gone, we are going to go down fucking screaming. We're either going to win the Stanley Cup or we're going to go down with a cataclysmic explosion. And you're seeing it in the form of they have genuinely looked at Evan Bouchard and gone like this, just play offense.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Just do whatever you want out there. And it is amazing to see that he is full last year of Eric Carlson on the Sharks of like, you literally can score whenever you. want. And it's hilarious that he is like in a rocket conversation right now. Not a, I'm going to have the most points in the season, which he also might, he literally might score 50 fucking goals this year. It's fucking hysterical. And Connor and Leon are just doing that as it's literally the three of them are just pumping in points. Pod Colson's going to score 30 goals minimum.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Oh dude. Definitely. Minimum. And seeing him like that is so big for this team if Pod is like, I'm going to have 70 points this year. Like he is the new. several years ago when Nuge had 100 points. But this is it, dude. This is Oilers Hockey. It is going to be so many goals. Absolutely titty fuck the over every single game they play. And they're just going to outscore their opponents.
Starting point is 00:39:09 And we'll see if when they get to playoffs, if teams lock it down a little bit and it eventually gets the better of them or maybe not. I don't think it will. Because what's funny is like, Devon Levi has not lost a game, I'm pretty sure. His numbers are bad. Yeah, they're not good. But it's like, I don't give a shit. That's the thing with this team is like if you win, just give up less goals than the other,
Starting point is 00:39:29 than the other goal. And they don't even have, or I don't, yeah, like, I don't care about Jari and Levi's numbers because Freddie is going to come in and play great. And that is the missing link here. And we can have the conversations when we get to playoffs about does he, does he have the legs, all that shit? But he is going to come in and give you quality fucking starts and goal. And when they get that, this team is going to be unbeatable.
Starting point is 00:39:54 They're going to win the President's trophy. Vegas is good. And Vegas, I give a lot of credit to because they are, didn't miss a beat when I was like, they might, they might struggle. But so it's not. They honestly look pissed too. I know. The way Jack Eichel and Mark Stone are moving around the ice and, and some of the things that
Starting point is 00:40:10 they're emoting. Yeah. They look mad. Yeah. It looks like they're like this. Are you idiots serious? You think that we're not just going to be. We missed our window.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Yeah. But the Oilers are going to beat up on this specific division, which isn't as bad as it was last year, but they are going to beat up on a specific division, and they are going to win the president's trophy. Yeah, dude, it's, what are they? Five and one? I'll tell you. I think they're five and one.
Starting point is 00:40:32 And as I said, Devon Levy is three and O, and O, and he has a 3.35 goals against and a 0.863 save percentage. That is incredible. Yeah. If I read you those last two numbers and said, what do you think that? 4.0 and 1. 4. 4.1.
Starting point is 00:40:47 If I read you those numbers and said, what do you think that team's record is, you would be like, probably not good, but I'm like, he's actually undefeated. And again, who cares? We'll give up all the goals you want as long as it's less than the other team. And as long as Bouchard, McDavid, and Leon, and Podkoulson are doing what they're doing, you'll win. So it's phenomenal. The Oilers are the only team in the league that hasn't lost in regulation yet. They have the Kings Tuesday. So when you're listening to this? Oh, that will be an overtime loss. Yeah. Yeah. But then Mammoth, Mammoth, wild canes. So next good run, maybe a regulation loss in there. But dude, if they, if they push through that, we could see, we could see start talking avs situation where you're like,
Starting point is 00:41:31 they haven't lost in 60 minutes in a long time. Yes. So the Leafs and the Oilers are the two best team in the leagues. Two best teams. Yes, correct. It's fucking amazing. My big overreaction for this week is the Detroit Red Wings have become a laughing stock. The once proud Detroit Red Wings. The once proud Detroit Red Wings, and longtime listeners of this show know that this is, I say this with a heavy, heavy heart. This is, I am not dancing on a grave. This is a team that I have loved since I was a child and remain in love with them. But things, to quote Pirates of the Caribbean, have gone from bad to worse. And it just sucks.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Like the wings have missed the playoffs more years in a row than any other current team right now. They have the longest drought in the NHL. Dylan Larkin requests a trade He then comes back, gets booed mercilessly, scores and has an assist and gets them their first win Which just looked so like We're booing this guy And he comes back and is clearly your only savior
Starting point is 00:42:33 It just feels even worse Edvinson is in fucking Sweden He's not even here He's just in Sweden playing hockey He's training and playing in Sweden And dude we have no jurisdiction there You need a new Dylan Larkin died for your sins t-shirt. Genuine.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Genuine. Like, it's true, Edv. And you've just, like, Edvinson's demanding, like, 11 mil a year. And the wings are like this. We're not paying that. We can't pay that. The asking price for these guys have gotten so out of control that it's getting embarrassing. And by that, I mean, for the trades.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Like, we, I put up, because I wanted to, and I'm not retroactively saying this, it was, I wasn't trolling. I was genuinely curious. I put up a mock trade on my Twitter, my personal Twitter, with the Bruins. And I was like, for both Larkin and Edvinson, what do you guys think about this?
Starting point is 00:43:26 And as I suspected, both the majority of both fan vices were like, absolutely not are you out of your mind. Wings fans were like, that's nowhere near enough, which I understand, and frankly I agree with. And Boston fans were like this,
Starting point is 00:43:38 absolutely not, we're not giving up that much. Just to continue the conversation of everyone over values their assets. And again, though, when it's gotten this bad, there's a part of me, as we keep saying, with the Jets as well, with Hellebuck, what point do you cut your losses and be like this? This is getting embarrassing. And we don't want to put our franchise in a bad situation, but like we need to make a move here. It's gotten to the point where I'm like, dude, this is brutal. They've lost another game since Larkin has been back now. And it's just like, we've got Canadians fans chanting. We want Larkin while they're playing. so brutal and I'm like, dude, this team is turning into a joke and I do not like that. There have been teams in this league that have been jokes in the past, the Buffalo Sabres, that went through a brutal stretch where people are like, you are a joke of a franchise.
Starting point is 00:44:28 That is what is currently happening to the Detroit Red Wings and I will not stand for it. This is two, the once proud, this is too historic and amazing of a franchise for this to be happening. That is my overreaction and I don't like it. Dude, you asked when you hit the point of embarrassment. We've long since passed it. The second the season started for the Jets and the Red Wings. You long since passed the moment of embarrassment when you didn't trade the guy that said,
Starting point is 00:44:52 I hate it here. I'm not playing for you. And I give Lark. Hellebuck would play too if they let him. They're actively suspending him. But Larkin is the man for just showing up and doing his fucking job. But this is a joke. You're right.
Starting point is 00:45:05 And dude, it's just real quick on that, I want to go further and add. he has handled this like such a gentleman. And if you don't think that, you're out of your mind. He has taken his medicine every type of the way he came out. He is performing on the ice. Larkin is just a class act. Dude.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Class act of a human. I just want to say this too. And this is coming from a guy who have, if you're listening to the show, you've heard me bitch about the no move. I don't think no move should exist. But I wear a players pod and I want them to all be happy. but I think it really hamstrings.
Starting point is 00:45:42 Oh, no, we got to change it. But I actually loved, which I'm sure you all saw, the Marshie comment. I love when Marci gets on Twitter and comments, even when it's at my expense. But he, when he, because Gary made those comments and Gary's the man. But Marcy made that comment that goes, dude, it's a two-way street though. Fans currently are going, Dylan, you signed a contract that said you'd be here for eight years. And now you want to leave? And Marcy goes, dude, okay.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Well, if a team signs me to a contract for eight years, and then four years in go, we're trading you? Isn't that the same active betrayal, quote, unquote? Like, they're going, we promise you can be here for eight years. And then four years in, they go, never mind. I'm like, what do you mean? Never mind. You signed a contract too.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Like, I get that trades are part of sports, so it's not totally apples to apples, totally fair comp, but it is conceptually a really good point where I'm like, if we sign an eight-year deal, but the team can decide to trade me four years, I can decide to not want to be here in four years. So, it's a very fair point, Barshie. It is crazy, and I also think we've been talking to some friends in the... Listen, we're going to keep eyes peeled as we record today, but after those, we want Larkin chants.
Starting point is 00:46:53 There are hot, hot, hot, hot rumors going on right now that potentially Larkin and Halebuck are going to Montreal. Whoa. Dude, wow, that'd be numbies. I have no idea how they can afford that. Yep. And I imagine, based on these asking prices, it would cost everything. a lot of valuable pieces that I don't think Montreal wants to part ways with.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Yeah. But that would be insane. It's, and we've long said, Larkin is the 2C that they are missing from, in my opinion, being the no questions asked best team in the East. If they get Larkin to play 2C behind Zook,
Starting point is 00:47:30 I'm like, you did. Yeah. What is happening? Who is beating that team? So, listen, we'll keep eyes as we're recording. But if they get both of those teams,
Starting point is 00:47:39 or both those players, that would be something to think about. And I'll say this, dude, if you're the Jets and you can somehow get Fowler, you're laughing. Yeah. You go like this, hell, buck, ask for a trade. We're good already. It doesn't even matter. And now we got Fowler, our goalie of the future. That would be unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:47:55 God, unbelievable. I feel bad for Dobish, though. I don't. Yeah. Let's quickly talk about some teams that got us horny. We're going to get into a lot, but I just wanted to take a moment to give some respect. to the Ottawa senators. Okay. Ottawa senators deserve every bit of a stroke off right now because we talked about in our
Starting point is 00:48:17 division previews what might happen to this team post Brady and we said there is a world where they get fired up about it. Yeah, yeah. They are fired up about it. Ewing theory. Shout out Bill Simmons. Yes, agree. And they are definitely a candidate to prove me wrong about because I'm the early guy. I'm like right now there's no reason to believe that the Sends aren't actually good. So they had really good pieces around Brady. Those guys aren't gone. It was going to take a big step up across the board and they're doing that. I still think they're not a threat, if that makes sense. Like I thought the senators of last year with Brady were fun and a lot of us were like, man, that's going to be a hard first round matchup, even though
Starting point is 00:49:04 that was a sweep, right? Yeah, it was a sweep. But they were all. overtime, double O T, you know, is amazing. But I was like, they're not a threat, and I certainly don't think they're a threat now, but I love the fact that they went, dude, we were a, we were a playoff team and a scary playoff team,
Starting point is 00:49:17 and I'm not going to regress back into the nothing just because we lost Brady. And that is awesome. Yeah, I hear you on the not a threat. They're four in one. Yeah. They're winning really close games, but at the end of the day, they're four and one.
Starting point is 00:49:33 O'Mark looks really good, and shout out Timmy Stu. Timmy Stu, it's, is having a fucking monster year so far. Yeah, dude. Actually, to ricochet back at Brad, who chirped him about being captain, lull. Great response early.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Great response through five games. I'll show you a fucking C, dude. Yeah, the idea of him being captain made Brad Marchand laugh out loud in public, which was crazy. But Timmy Stu looks awesome. I like how he's got kind of a heel, too. Like, he's still flopping, and that pisses people off,
Starting point is 00:50:04 but he's fucking pumping in points. So quick little stroke off to the Ottawa senators because you deserve it. The fans deserve it. It's a great, great start for that team. You'll love to see it. Now, before we move on, I did, I got a little too horny, which makes sense because we're talking about teams that get us horny. And in our overreactions, we do, I just want to quickly say that our local Los Angeles Kings look a little troublesome. Is this a bad start?
Starting point is 00:50:32 I'm not going to go deep into this. but they are winless and in typical fashion a lot of OT losses, which is, as we always, I mean, could go one way or the other. I know. However, the Kings, this was a big time year of, oh, made some interesting moves, brought in a lot of wily vets. This could go really well. And it's off to a tough start.
Starting point is 00:51:00 and I'm just saying the next six games or so are very important. And you can't, well, two things I guess. One, I can't be the early guy only in the good. I have to be the early guy only in the bad. And if you start this bad, again, they're outliers, but this is not good. It's a big sign that you're not good. And unfortunately, how often do we say on this show, well, you know, the easy axe to swing is the coach. You just kill the coach.
Starting point is 00:51:26 You certainly cannot do that. You can't. That's not an option here. which means it ricochets. I mean, there could be, front office, but it more ricochets to the roster. And that is scary.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I mean, they're 29th in the league in goals four. It's like you have to start scoring goals, which obviously is the name of the game. Dude, score some goals, and you might win hockey games. Yeah, look at Edmund. You know, they're not great in goals against either, but they're not really towards the worst,
Starting point is 00:51:54 but it's like they're not scoring. And I, but I do think my message of positive, is with these OT losses, it's just like one bounce the other way. But it's like you got to go out and find the bounces. The next six games are insanely important. And yeah, I do think Luke Robatai seat better be feeling really hot. But what blows is like six more games like this and players seats start getting hot. And we cannot have that.
Starting point is 00:52:20 Yep. Cannot fucking have that. But they are a little troublesome. Important stretch here, boys. A little troublesome. Okay. Let's take an ad break. This episode of the MTV,

Starting point is 00:54:35 That's N-E-A-P. Check this out. It's called Neep. It's a little pouch like this, and it's 20 grams of protein in this pouch. And listen, my fiance started this company, which is pretty cool because now we live in a world where I started a podcast and she started a company that's launched and so successful that I get to do an ad read for her, which is amazing. 20 grams of protein, 90 calories.
Starting point is 00:54:54 the best calories protein ratio on the market in this little pouch. It comes in citrus and berry. It's incredible and it's the first protein gel of its kind ever made. Okay, it's like a running gel concept, but protein in this. If you're sick of the weigh shakes, if you're sick of the high calorie bars and all that stuff, this little gel, bang, it's done in two seconds. I have three a day. It's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:55:17 You can use it after your workouts to get 20 grams right there. You can use it and drizzle it over yogurt and for breakfast in the morning. My favorite use case is between meals, because every time I'm snacky between breakfast and lunch and dinner, I have one of these. I'm immediately no longer hungry, but it also doesn't fill me up for my next meal. It is a perfect thing for that, and I'm serious, I have two a day. That's exactly where I get them. If you're tracking macros, I don't track that hard, but if you're tracking macros, it is amazing when you're like, oh, my God, I'm protein short today, and it's 9 p.m., and I now have to go cook a chicken breast. I'm like, wrong.
Starting point is 00:55:47 You have a neep, and boom, you're handled like that. It's amazing. It's collagen protein, and for the science geniuses out there. there. The added amino acids are in this. So it is a complete protein, unlike pretty much every collagen protein out on the market. Neep Foods. The banners at the bottom go to Neepfoods.com, but it's also all over socials, TikTok, and everything else. Check it out. Give it a shot. I'm telling you, it changes the game 20 grams in this pouch. How are you? Let's get into our ride or die teams. You know, top of the week, how we doing, how the squad's doing?
Starting point is 00:56:20 my duckies, I feel pretty good. They lost to the Oilers. We lost to the Oilers. But the Oilers needed that. First of all, the Oilers are the best team in the league, and they're going to win the President's trophy. And second of all, the Oilers were going to get that revenge. They had the revenge juices from last year, right?
Starting point is 00:56:37 They were so pissed about the playoffs that you're always going to lose that first game. It's kind of like when the pens beat the wheels off the flyers, and you're like, oh, sick. I wish we'd win the playoff series, but at least we get a little payback. The oil is always going to take that one. And then the ducks, they beat the hot jets, which I like. And they took the two free points from the flames. The flames are like a lemonade stand.
Starting point is 00:56:58 And you drive into Calgary and there's the Calgary Flames team there sitting on the corner of the street with a lemonade stand that says two points. And you walk up and you go, how much? And they go, free. And you go, thank you so much. And then you take the two points and you bump your way out of Western Canada. So I'm glad we took the two free points. Thanks for playing. And Leo has eight points in five games.
Starting point is 00:57:16 So suck it to everyone who thinks he's getting paid. too much. Certainly not me. I would never think that. So he's worth every penny and I love it. Do you want me to do all mine or do we want to go back and forth? Let's go back and forth. I don't know why you started in the Pacific wild move. Well, because some teams don't have as, I go by update
Starting point is 00:57:34 coolness. Like the ducks, I'm like, okay, a fair week. Okay. I'm going to go, I'm going to start in the Atlantic. Yep. Cats, how are we doing? It's been a little shaky with injuries here. Okay, we beat the Kings lost to the wild, but
Starting point is 00:57:50 Brad Marchand goes down with an injury looked real, real bad, but we talked about it. We willed it into existence that he was fine, and it turns out he is fine. I want, yeah, and you were too, I deserve and we deserve some credit for that. Oh, no, we got it. People were freaking out. No, no, we got it online. People were, the second
Starting point is 00:58:06 the news came out six weeks, people were like this, holy shit, you guys talked this, spoke this into existence. It's fucking huge. So, we're going to be fine. Some housekeeping we've got to talk about, okay? 30th in the league in goals four. That's not great.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Fourth in the league in goals against. That is great. Dead last in power play. 3.6%. That is insane. Yeah. You have so many good players. 20th in the league in PK, not great.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Brady still doesn't have a point. I know. Things are just stale, but that's okay. Yeah. We're still looking really good, or not looking really good, we're still looking good in the division. And the jump scare of Barcov and Marcii injuries, turning out to not be bad.
Starting point is 00:58:50 I think we're laughing. So lock in here. Got to lock in. Looks like we're going to get the Kchucks and Bennett line, which is phenomenal. Really excited about that. The all-time rat line.
Starting point is 00:59:01 That'll get Brady going playing with his brother. I have no doubt at all. Frankly, the only time I've ever doubted Pomo was when he was like, oh, we're not necessarily going to play them together. I'm like, this is the whole point of this. The whole point. Look at the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:59:13 Look at what happened. Game one, Brady goal from Matthew. That is going to happen. Matthews buzzing. That's good. We got to get a lot of these guys. We got to get Rino going. We got to get for Hagey going. And I think it's going to happen here. We just got to survive, survive, this next little stretch. But that, we've got to pump those numbers up, start pumping goals in. But Markstrom looks great. So we're good. Yep. We're good. It's a little shaky, had some scares. We've survived the scares. And now we move forward.
Starting point is 00:59:41 It's like when Nashville got all those guys and then didn't play them together. And then by the end of the air, they were like, we've tried Marsha So and Stamcoasts on a line and they're nasty. I'm like, I know. Shocking. That was the point. Let's go to Minnesota. The Minnesota Wilde, we actually had a tough road trip this week,
Starting point is 00:59:59 lost to the Sabres and the Lightning, but beat your Panthers to save the trip. But Carrill has six goals, tied for the league lead, I think still, unless something happened late last night that I forgot. Boldie has one in one through five games and I'm bothered by that
Starting point is 01:00:21 because I well first of all he's disgusting and we have said that a million times so we believe that but I was kind of thinking I was thinking I was getting loco essay about Boldie this year where I was like he could literally
Starting point is 01:00:35 like win a rocket win an MVP I said he was the best winger in the league dude well you know what's exciting is literally every wild game for the next five straight games is a hammer Matt Boldie anytime goals. Yeah. Like that will come home eventually. Yep.
Starting point is 01:00:48 So there, that's, the wild feel so fine. We kind of were talking about the cliff in the central. And, you know, maybe the jets have something to say about that. We'll see. And the stars started slow, but I do think it's the four teams we like. But the wild look like a team that doesn't want to be left out at all. Because I was like, oh, well, it's abs and stars and maybe the mammoth jump. And the wild are decidedly in the mixture.
Starting point is 01:01:13 they look really good and just wait till boldie gets going. Imagine if he gets going. So that's how I feel about that. Keep humming along, Minnesota. Okay. Gas up time for the New York Rangers. I know a lot of people would think that it is a spin zone and it's not even a spin zone because here is the deal.
Starting point is 01:01:29 Yes, we lost just irkin. Absolutely devastating. But tied for most points in the league. Fifth in the league in goals four and fifth in goals against 95% on the PK. Try scoring on that fucking penalty kill you. Bitches, you can't. Laugh has five goals. and eight points in seven games. Gabe has three and three perfect hockey player for six and seven and
Starting point is 01:01:47 his third on the team in points. That's exactly what you want. Igor is dead, but we are so up. Garand might be the answer. And if he's not, there are options out there. There is nothing to worry about Rangers fans. We are totally fine. This team is a fucking steam roll. And we're going to continue to flatten our opponents. There's nothing to worry about. We're going to do it for Igor. Yeah, dude, for Igor is actually something interesting. And remember, shout out Acon, put the blame on me. I will take it. I will take this burden. I will carry it for you all.
Starting point is 01:02:16 Incredible reference. Thank you. What player of the game trophy did we invent the other week? Like we were talking about the Zucarillo Cup, and then we were like, oh, they need this, and it was so good. Yeah. Ev, what was that? Wasn't it a skull that you drink out of? Yeah, it was.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Oh, yeah, because... I was drinking out of... Because somebody got hit in the head. It was a human skull. Yeah, Fabers, Fabers. Yes, the fractured skull. It has a fractured skull, so that was Minnesota. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:43 The Rangers need to do something similar about Chesty. A cement. Yeah. Post peg. There you go. Yeah. Oh, yeah, you drink out of a post peg. Yes.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Or you just hold it. Post peggoblet. Or the winner of the game gets pegged. Ooh. Nice. Ouch. Do any interpretation of that you want? It's just how we say it.
Starting point is 01:03:02 We go peg. And tonight I'm pegged and the previous player of the game pegs the new player I'm pegging you. And they can put it on Only fans and make a little extra money. Yeah. Player of the game from last week. Again, it depends. Pagging can mean a lot of things.
Starting point is 01:03:14 Yep. I like this, Dan. Not in my house. Not in my house, dude. It means one thing and one thing only. And it means, and it's Friday night. The Pittsburgh Penguins, my Pittsburgh Penguins, my and Ev's Pittsburgh Penguins. Tough week.
Starting point is 01:03:30 Lost to the Jets at home, but the Caps, or sorry, the Jets have been pretty good. The Jets are good. Yep. Lossed of the Caps in Ovi's home opener, which I'll allow, frankly. Like, that was okay. And, you know, he just announced his retirement. Yep. Then lost to the Blue Jackets, which we did have as the Friday Fade, so credit to us, but also that's another loss. Beat the scars, saved the week, beat the stars and a gritty one at home.
Starting point is 01:03:53 Here's the problem. When I say Samuel Gerard, what do you think? What comes to your mind, knee-jerk reaction? Samuel Gerard. A player who plays for the Pittsburgh penalty. Yeah, you wouldn't think leads the team in points. I would not. Would you think that? Because that is not something that we can have in a sentence about the Pittsburgh Megwitz this year. Sid has played six games. He has zero goals, two assists, and his dash four. Now, you want to talk
Starting point is 01:04:19 fucking percentage blames, dude? Stop. You want to talk you think you're the problem for Chesty. The three of us, and I'm including you, because you helped with that video and gave us some good... He made the entire video. If anyone, this is completely on Dr. Watkins
Starting point is 01:04:34 if we're being totally honest. This is a fucking nightmare. A fucking nightmare. Well, he just has a slow. start. Yeah. And here's my spin zone. The spin zone is we have a
Starting point is 01:04:44 tidal wave of Sid points coming. This is my spin zone. How exciting is that? Sid has never done this. He's never done the, like Sid is just always a point, like humming a long point for game. Sid's never done the, wow, what a, what a sick comeback season from Sid. He doesn't have that in his cap yet.
Starting point is 01:05:01 And this year he went like this, God, I'm, you got to spice things up 20 years into a marriage. And he went like this, what if I tried the start slow and then rise the team to glory on You know what certainly happened here is we talk about a guy with routines and a guy with superstitions. The 84 games fucked with him. Yes, Dan. Oh, you're right. No question about it.
Starting point is 01:05:20 And it was always going to take a couple of weeks, if not three weeks, to shake off. What was that? You add a level of variability into this man's life. It takes a while to get over. Correct. And he's going to be fine. So I'm excited to see what Sidney Crosby is capable of the rest of the way. Me too, brother.
Starting point is 01:05:38 Now on to the biggest assholes in the National Hockey League. My ride or die in the central, the Dallas Stars, and I say assholes with love. The stars beat sharks, beat Sabres, lost the pens, and they just, they are the biggest assholes in the league. It's unbelievable. Like literally, they are the best team in the league when they win, and then they're, they're not bad when they lose, they're just completely absent. They don't realize they're playing hockey.
Starting point is 01:06:06 They don't care. But here's the thing. I talked about this the other day. This is what this Dallas Stars team does, and we forget it every single year. They are 26th in the league in goals four and first in goals against. So, like, Otters doing great.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Like, they look fucking fine, especially when they win. 28th in power play. This team is nasty, but they just go dead stick. So when they lose, they go like this. We are literally not playing hockey today. They did this last year. They did it the year before.
Starting point is 01:06:35 And Dallas fans panic because they know how good they are and they're like, what is happening? And I am here to say it happens every year. This isn't even a spin zone. It's also not a gas up because I am going, we're assholes, but I am saying there is literally nothing to panic about. There are zero worries at the hangar and in the entire city of Dallas because, frankly, every single season they do this. So great news. They're probably going to win the fucking central. And it is hilarious that they do this, though. I'm a little annoyed with how much talent there is on this team with certain players. And I'm like, you guys should be, the 28th in the league, or 26th in Goals 4 is unacceptable soldier.
Starting point is 01:07:15 Yep. So I need them to step that the fuck up. But at the end of the day, them going dead stick full comatose and just losing games like for nothing because they're like this, we didn't realize we were playing hockey today. It's so on brand. It's absolutely hilarious. It's perfect, dude. And I don't know when the only thing that's not perfect about it is they always do this.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Yes. And if this ended in cups every year, I would go, yeah, continue to do this. But since it never does, I'm like, maybe try something different. But we'll see, Dan. We'll see. When they do so well in the Central every year, I mean, listen, wire-to-wire doesn't work, man. The President's Trophy doesn't work, as we know. So that's not what I want, but it is hilarious how they do this.
Starting point is 01:07:55 Yeah. But no spin zone. No spin zone. You're fine. You're fine. You're fine. that brings me to my Buffalo Sabers
Starting point is 01:08:04 the Sabers they beat the Wild you beat my wild very tough day for me but then they got pumped by your stars at Home 4-0 and to the Mammoth 4-1 now the mammoth are the best team
Starting point is 01:08:13 in hockey maybe besides the Oilers so I finally I'm okay with that and the stars were having a non-asshole day so that's okay too those aren't losses
Starting point is 01:08:22 that are horrible but we have 11 goals for seventh worst in the league we have a 19 goals against, fifth worst in the league. UPL has not good numbers right now. We are seventh in the Atlantic, barely ahead of the once proud Red Wings. Not good. Now, before I pulled the Buffalo Sabers name out of the hat, I said, this team worries me. And now they're worrying me.
Starting point is 01:08:49 But I'll tell you what, boys, last year, and I actually looked this up, last year, both the East and the West through 10 games, six of the eight teams that were in playoffs through 10 made it in both. And a lot of the misses were big time injuries. Like, for example, the devils were in playoffs, missed. Right. And then after 10 games, Jack sliced his hand open. The Jets were in.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Then Hellebuck got hurt and missed time. So I actually love my 10 game stance where I'm like, it's pretty accurate. Yeah. The sabers are one that weren't in. So this is fucking, this is old hat for the boys, dude. We don't give a shit about starts. Starts? Fuck you, dude.
Starting point is 01:09:32 I don't care about starts. I care about finishes. As Snoop Dog famously said in Starsky and Hutch, why go to the starting line when you can go straight to the finish, baby? Let's just make the finish line playoffs and think about that's all we need here because I'll tell you what, dude. Right now, we're just putting, we went to the Kellogg factory. We put our milk in the cereal too early and it's a little soggy.
Starting point is 01:09:51 Put the milk in a little later, Boys, don't have that fucking cereal sitting in milk all day. Do it right before puck drops stay fresh. I want that cinnamon toast to fucking crunch with each bite, and then you get to drink the cinnamon milk after like a horchata. How are you, dude? Starts don't mean shit. It's all about finish, and it's all about how you finish.
Starting point is 01:10:08 We're going to finish just fine, but I do need to start scoring goals and I do need to start stopping goals. That's very important. If I told you at the beginning of the season that the Colorado Avalanche would be second in goals for at this juncture by only one, would you be surprised? No. Would you be surprised if tied for second was the Seattle Spunk?
Starting point is 01:10:26 I would be shocked. Well, guess what? They are tied for second in the National Hockey League through six games played with 26 goals for. It's amazing. It's amazing. There is, I got nothing bad to say about Seattle Crack. Why would you, dude? Nothing bad.
Starting point is 01:10:44 Billionaires tax, fuck you. They score. They score a lot of goals. How about that? Maybe Robo goes there next year. The Seattle Crackens score a lot of goals. I feel like the Seattle Cracken in the last 12 months have kind of been the butt of a joke with a lot of different things. Jason Robertson didn't want to get traded there.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Oh, look how good the Vegas Golden Knights were as a new franchise, as a new expansion team. They have so much success. They go to the cup every single fucking year. What happened to you, Seattle? People are talking about the weather, how it rains all the time. And everyone's like, ah, whatever. They're great. Yep.
Starting point is 01:11:13 They're great. Everyone's buzzing. Jared Buchan looks fantastic. Vince Dunn, my boy, absolutely fantastic. Capocaco is a point per game player. No man. How about that? Chain Wright's doing well.
Starting point is 01:11:24 A couple of goals so far already. Freddie Goddrow has four tucks. The Seattle Cracken look awesome. It's amazing. It's like there's nothing bad to say. Guys are fucking buzzing. They're, again, scoring goals. They're winning important games.
Starting point is 01:11:37 You can stop talking about all, well, they beat the flames a couple times because they're beating other teams too. It's fantastic. Yep. They win. They beat the Caps. They beat the Caps. They beat the Caps.
Starting point is 01:11:46 The Crackin are a good team. And when you're looking at a league right now where you've got the The Kings really, really struggling. The flames might never win a game, unfortunately. There's an opportunity here, Cracken. Be a team. Be that guy. So Seattle, we've got nothing but these.
Starting point is 01:12:05 Just a ton of thumbs up for you. It's amazing. It's fantastic. Before we get into our Beer League hotline, we have got to do a quick recap of this past weekend because something so unbelievably incredible happened it is hard to describe. We go to Dallas this past weekend.
Starting point is 01:12:22 went for the Red River shootout with Mug. Shout out Mug. And had a great time. Did some awesome stuff, awesome content. Great football game. Dallas State Fair, insane. Or Texas State Fair. Boom or sooner, by the way.
Starting point is 01:12:35 Yeah, dude, what an upset. What a win. Danny got his phone stolen. Danny's phone was stolen, which sucks for anybody. I keep forgetting that you know nothing about this story. And dude, getting your phone's stolen sucks for anybody, especially with how much stuff is on it these days. And keep in mind, we have a flight, like,
Starting point is 01:12:52 all his credit card, you know, just everything. But it especially sucks for a young 20s content creator who is like everything on earth, his entire life is on that phone. We are, we are all way too addicted to our phones. So when you lose your phone, it sucks in that regard and how you can contact people. I mean, I haven't left the house with my credit cards on me in years because it's all on here. So it blows for a number of reasons. but on a content trip for a content creator to lose their phone absolutely sucks.
Starting point is 01:13:25 And it gets stolen. Danny wakes up to a bunch of charges. Whoever stole the phone was trying to wire thousands and thousands of dollars. It was just a whole nightmare. So we go through the day. Eventually, on his laptop, Danny logs into iCloud, bricks the phone. Okay, we're fine on all those financial issues and all that. But the phone is gone.
Starting point is 01:13:48 And I want to interject here because this, I can remember if you know this story, but I had a lost phone saga. So I kind of had gone through this. So I said, Danny, come here. I kind of know the steps. And vitally, in mine, someone was in the phone with the password. This, they didn't have presumably Danny's password. So there was, the damage control was easier.
Starting point is 01:14:10 But like Dan said, it was fix the bank stuff, fix the phone stuff, change some passwords just to be safe and you're pretty good. But in that moment, and dude, the other thing that sucked was the service at the state fair was awful. And there's no Wi-Fi and our cell service sucks. So I'm trying to hotspot my phone to even get him on his laptop. So it's kind of a nightmare. But vitally, Danny in this moment, and I get it because this is one of the stages of grief or something.
Starting point is 01:14:35 But Danny is in complete denial at this point that he passionately believes he will get this phone back. Like he's literally being like, because you can message the phone, you know. He's being like, hey, bring it back. I'll pay you 500 bucks. Dan is doing the thing in his head where he's like this. I just want to message the phone and say, hey, this is the owner of the phone.
Starting point is 01:14:54 I will pay you $500 if you give me the phone back. Just meet me here and then give it back. And I had to be like, Danny, this person is a thief. Do you think that they're going to go, surely this will go great if I show up face to face with this person? Does he know how it got stolen? Like, was there an incident? Just like a shuffle at the bar.
Starting point is 01:15:11 Or did he get like pickpocketed? That's what we assume. Like we assume it's like he put his phone down on a table in the bar or like someone just lifted it out of his pockets somewhere along the line. Shit. Yeah. So he is doing this thing where he's going, we're at the fair and he's going,
Starting point is 01:15:25 should I go back to the hotel? Because they'll probably bring it back there when they return it. And I'm like, and I'm also looking at his eye cloud. And it says the phone is showing somewhere, but it also says as of two hours ago or whatever. It's not saying like, it's here. Yeah, they didn't have an update location track on. And I'm like, dude, it's not there because it was there two hours ago before they switched it on to airplane mode or whatever. and also they're not bringing it back.
Starting point is 01:15:51 So it's gone. I need you to stop thinking about this. And I think that thought got in all of our heads. So we fly home to L.A. We're all in Shambles. Loop is sick as a dog. We're tired from all the work over the last day. Flights, everything.
Starting point is 01:16:06 Danny, obviously, in Shambles because his phone has been stolen. And he's like, God damn, I've got to get a new phone. We get all to all of our respective homes. And Danny on his computer again logs in. And he goes, my phone is active in this one spot. has been there for eight hours now. This person has clearly thrown the phone out of a window and just ditched it on the side of the road
Starting point is 01:16:26 and it's just there. Wow. And we're looking at it and it is pinging. Like the phone is, we can literally see the battery. It's on low battery mode. It's alive still. Wow.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Shout out new phone battery. And it says live. It is live. Before it was saying three hours ago, right now it's going. No, it is live. Yeah. And Danny's like,
Starting point is 01:16:42 fuck, the phone is there. We should have gone and checked. So now we're like, maybe it is there. So we text a couple people who we know are still in the area. Yeah. One is not responsive and awake. The other is way too far away.
Starting point is 01:16:57 And we're kind of like, fuck. So what do we do? We turn to the armies. Across who's next, empty netters and hold the phone. We were like, we have enough fans in Dallas. Someone might be able to do this. So we blasted on all of our Twitters and all of our Instagram stories. and within literal minutes.
Starting point is 01:17:21 I'm talking for, yeah, oh yeah. Max. Our fucking hero and savior, Jay, all-time Netters fan, longtime fan, always gassing us up, giving us amazing compliments,
Starting point is 01:17:34 support, just a fucking beauty beyond words that can possibly describe. It literally hits us up and goes, I'm in the car and I'm on the way. Because we posted that we were like, here it is.
Starting point is 01:17:47 If anyone's in this area, let us know. Not only did Jay let us know, he went, I'm already on the way. And he wasn't close. Like, shot at all. And Ev, it's like late in Dallas. It's over half a half of it. It was basically midnight. He's 35 minute driveway and he's like, I'll be right there. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, go on. So Jay is like, I'm on the way. We get connected with Jay, like, gives us his number and we're, we're chatting with him and he's like, dude, I'm going. And amidst this being both hilarious and, like, iconic, I kind of had the wherewithal to be like,
Starting point is 01:18:18 Wait a minute, dude. Yeah. Jay is goaded, but we don't know him personally yet. And we've now sent him on this mission to God knows where. And when you think about the fact, this is a fucking thief. So we're like, wait a minute, dude. Like, be, hold on. So I text him and I was like, Jay, be careful, by the way.
Starting point is 01:18:36 Like, I don't know where you're going. If it's sketchy, get the hell out of there and certainly don't get out of your car. And Jay responds, it's Texas, brother. I'm fucking strapped and ready. I was like, dude. Yes, that's fucking gone. guy is the dopest dope who has ever smoked. We're just chatting with him.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Can't believe what's happening the whole time he's there. He finally gets there. And he's like, I'm out of the car. I'm searching. We're not finding it. The phone has died at this point. Oh, yeah. That was the other nightmare.
Starting point is 01:19:05 Yeah. Jesus Christ. So he's just looking blindly in the general area. He sends us a picture of like where this area is and what it's in front of. Not to get into detail, but it is, it makes sense. is October, spooky. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:20 Spooky area. And I was like, dude, Jay, like, don't do anything dangerous. And he's like, no, dude, I'm fucking finding this phone. We're at this point being like, fuck, like, can Danny still send like the noise thing, even though it's dead? Is there a little bit of juice left? We're kind of losing hope because he's been there for five to ten minutes now. And then all of a sudden picture pops up, which we will give you, we'll put it in the,
Starting point is 01:19:45 in the stream here, Jay holding Danny's phone. I could not believe my eyes. Dude. It was unbelievable. Once he got it, he charged it in the car and then called me and I chatted with him for his whole drive home, basically. And I was like, dude, what happened? And it was actually the video Danny sent him of where the phone was was actually confusing because Danny had that other phone in the devices appearing. Yes.
Starting point is 01:20:10 So Jay went to this point not that far away, but just the wrong spot, which is where it looked really sketchy. Right. And then we were like, no, it's actually this dot. It's not that phone icon. Like, we've got to go to this dot. And he's like, oh, okay. So he's going, what side of the road is it on? And we're like, it looks like the median.
Starting point is 01:20:24 But we don't know. And I'll say, fine, mine has gotten actually pretty dialed. And we were like, I think it's literally in like the grassy median between these two streets. So on the phone, I was like, dude, I didn't even tell you guys this yet. But I was like, dude, what was the median like? And was it just, and was that a busy road? And he was like, oh, yeah, dude. But it was the middle of the night.
Starting point is 01:20:41 So there weren't a lot of cars coming. But the median was also like an off road, like elevated thing. I'm in an off-road SUV, so he was like, fuck it. And he just literally bounced his car onto the median. Yeah. And just parked in the middle. He goes, I parked in the middle of the fucking thing. Put the hazards on because, like, people are flying on this road.
Starting point is 01:21:00 And then he's like, and then it's pitch black. And he's like, I just had the flashlight out just like kind of, you know, metal detector, like, sweeping through. And he's like, dude, I just, my light panned over it. And I just saw the phone. And he was like, I was like, what did you think? And he was like, dude. He was like, people. the year of me probably heard because he was like, whoa, it's fucking gone.
Starting point is 01:21:21 Fellas! Just said the pig. Oh my God, he was, all of us, dude, we were so, I was joking. I was so tired from that trip, completely exhausted. And then that shit was going down in the middle of the night. I said we were like the guys in the chair and Spider-Man, you know, we're talking, or talking from our laptops. And when we got it, I was like, I'll never sleep again.
Starting point is 01:21:40 Ever. I'm more fired up than I've ever been. He sent that photo and the chat went nuclear. Yeah. It was everyone just like, oh my God. Holy shit. And it was truly a, I woke up the next morning and I sent a text to that chat with Jay. And I go, I literally woke up this morning thinking Jay was a dream.
Starting point is 01:21:55 Like that was so iconic. And my favorite part of, this is truly my favorite part of the entire saga. After the phone has been recovered, Jay, a hero, to the levels of Aragorn, to the levels of Frodo. We, Danny got a DM on who's next from another loyal fan that said, shit, bro, I'd pull up, but that's not a part of town you want to be in at night. Jay didn't even blink. Yeah. I go, Jay's already been there and has the phone. Dude, Jay saw that location and got in the car even before texting us. Didn't hesitate for a second. Oh, dude, it was so epic. Not only did Jay get the phone like a fucking hero risked life and limb to go get it, but he has already put it
Starting point is 01:22:39 in a package that is being sent to this office. So Danny will have his phone by this morning. it is fucking all time. Jay is getting the dopest fucking hair package from us you could ever imagine. And Jay is now our personal friend for life. Yep. For life, dude. All unfucking believable. Dude, and he also, and I'm only saying this because I know they will love it. He sends a picture of him driving because he was a long drive and he was like, this road trip was sponsored by Lucy.
Starting point is 01:23:09 Yeah. Oh funny. Just had a Lucy's breakers right in the center dash. Hell yes, dude, like the Lucy crew is going to get so fired out. As I always say, dude, you need to be dialed. You need to be focused on a fucking rescue mission. Unbelievable. Lucy will take care of- Yeah, they need to do ads with him now starring in them.
Starting point is 01:23:24 Correct. I'm going to go find the fucking missing sock in your driver. Yes, dude, he will find anything. And he said to me on the phone, he was like, I always take care of my boys, dude. And he does. It was, that was above and beyond. I cannot stress enough that it was midnight on Saturday. And he was an over 30-minute drive away from a literal needle in a haystack.
Starting point is 01:23:43 mission for people he's never met. Crazy, he found it. Dude, we have, I have close personal friends who would not have done this friend. One of them, I texted. And he said no. Great, he was out. I'm not chirping. So if there was ever more evidence that we needed that Netters fans
Starting point is 01:23:57 are the greatest people in the world, and hockey people are the greatest people in the world, let this be example numero uno. Jay. And if you know Jay, if you are listening to this and you know Jay, my God, are you lucky? Yeah. Because this is one of the most
Starting point is 01:24:13 special people I have ever, ever come across. I mean, what a heroic move. All time, homie, all time performance. I will tell that story till the fucking cows come home. Amazing. And I cannot wait to hang out with him either in Dallas or Boston or both when we catch a stars or bees game. 100%. We're going to a game together. And dude, this is Mount Rushmore, almost Friday sports annex moment. And Mount Rushmore empty netters. We get up, we got up hang something of his of Jay. You know how we always put cool stuff up in the annex? I'm going to frame a photo of Jay and hang it. When we go to a Dallas game or a B's game, whatever it is,
Starting point is 01:24:49 we are going to take a picture with Jay and then frame it in my house and in the office. It's going to be hanging right there. He actually, on the phone, Ev, he was like, when I heard you guys on the pod say you were going to Dallas this weekend, I DM'd you like, hey, dude, I'm a huge fan. Let's get beers. Come hang out with me on Friday night. And, you know, we don't see all the DMs, so we just didn't see it.
Starting point is 01:25:08 Especially from, yeah. And I was laughing with him on the phone because I was like, Dude, I wish we had seen this damn. Because then we would have got beers with you instead, and then the phone would have gotten stolen. Seriously. None of this would have happened if we had just gone to beers with Jay, dude. It was just, it's so awesome.
Starting point is 01:25:22 And we'll move on. But I could talk about Jay forever. The low of Danny was feeling of losing that phone and having to go through the whole rigmarole of it to the high of this angel from heaven. Yep. It was so awesome. Wild. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:25:37 So nuts. All right, let's wrap things up with a beer league hotline Ev, what do you got for us? I think I fucked up. This is, I'm reading now. This isn't me. I think I fucked up. It was glorious.
Starting point is 01:25:52 Sunday afternoon, when a text came through on my phone, asking if my 16-year-old son could play goalie for an acquaintances team that night at 7.30. I asked my boy if he wanted to help out, and he was way too excited. You'd think he just won the cup. He agreed and I got him to the rink. He's not old enough for a license yet. The game was against the top. top scoring team in the division and they dumped seven goals in on him in a seven to five loss.
Starting point is 01:26:17 Here's where I think I fucked up. I didn't send him in the rink with a 30 rack. I know a 16 year old kid bringing it isn't required and yes, he helped them out. But if he had walked in with a rack for the boys, he probably becomes an instant legend in the league. Definitely feel like I screwed him out of an opportunity to shine. My wife probably appreciates the fact that I didn't get locked up for being a minor, that he didn't get locked up for being a minor in possession of alcohol, but my head hangs a little lower after this faux pa. Yeah, you fucked up. Dude, what sucks is everything he said is 100% right. Yeah. And it's, this is the most self-aware human being who's ever lived. Exactly. This is a perfect, this is a perfect message because he's, he's so, he's seeing, he's seeing the matrix. He knows
Starting point is 01:27:06 everything, but he learned to read the Matrix one hour too late. Yeah. And now he can't go back in time. But if I ever invent a time machine and all the world's problems are in front of me, the first thing I will go back to is that Sunday at 630 and make sure this man gives his son a rack. Then we can go back and kill Hitler. But before that, we have to get this kid a rack. Yeah. I mean, shit, this is a huge bummer. Because, like, this is chas palmetry after kaiser sosei leaves his office like you figured it out just a little bit too late but you're you're absolutely right can you imagine dude well first of all i'm a little confused he is old enough for a license he's 16 uh some places some place is but he maybe he only has his
Starting point is 01:27:53 yeah he just doesn't have his license yeah it takes a while that doesn't matter that doesn't matter but you drove him to the rink yeah he just he realized it after the game yeah i know but he was like i'm sure my wife's happy that i didn't get him locked up but you were driving dude there was never an issue here. Like, I understand you're saying, like, if you put the 30 rack in his bag, no one's searching that fucking bag. And I assure you if they did, and no one in that rink is going to go popping you. But I also don't know why I am dogging this guy. He knows he made a mistake. Yeah, yeah. I think the only thing, this is, I appreciate you bringing this to the Beer League hotline because you have no question. This guy snitched on himself just to wear the
Starting point is 01:28:28 shame. And for that, sir, I salute you. Because, I mean, if you aren't self-aware, you miss out on a lot of opportunities in life. But you are self-aware, so you won't make this mistake again. Because, yeah, I mean... Yeah, to kick him when he's down, this kid would have been a fucking... Oh, the boys would have lost their mind. And you know what really sucks is they would have won, too.
Starting point is 01:28:48 Yeah. Because if that kid walked in was like, hey, boys, and they're like this, oh, what's up, kid? Yeah. Thanks for helping us out. This is like that moment when you're in fifth grade and you get asked to deliver a note to the eighth grade class and you open the door and, like, a bunch of weed smoke billows out, they're shooting dice in the corner of the room and you're like, holy shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:03 This 16-year-old walking into a beer league hotline must have been one of the scariest moments of his entire life. And if he had unzipped that bag and pulled out a 30 rack, those guys would have fucking rioting. And ice. Can you imagine? He pulls up the rack and ice. They would have lost their minds. And I'm telling you, they would have played harder for him at one. Absolutely correct. So to kick you when you're down, this is a nightmare because truly this would have been talked about forever. Question, though, I imagine there's a chance he gets to play again. I don't know, dude. The 7-5 loss. Best team in the league, though.
Starting point is 01:29:33 It is the best team in the league. I mean, listen. Seven's pretty normal. There is a world where you get waved in again. Yeah. I pray. Is it fixable? That's my question to you.
Starting point is 01:29:41 If you bring it in on the second visit, are you still the man? Absolutely. Agree. So that's why I'm like, dude, it's okay. Now that you know, just do not fuck this up again. Yeah. And you do, it has to be a cooler with ice. Cooler with ice.
Starting point is 01:29:52 Really make sure it's the full enchilada. But this is fixable, for sure. Pray that he gets waved in again. And honestly, what I would do, text the boys and say, hey guys, my kid said that was some of the most fun he's ever had. If you ever need help again, he's ready to step up. Make it known that he wants another shot.
Starting point is 01:30:15 His head's not hanging. Your head's hanging because you fucked up. Your son's head's not hanging. He's ready to go. He doesn't care about those seven goals. He's going to get right back in that. I bet he gets waved in again. And then he shows up with that 30 rack.
Starting point is 01:30:26 And also, there are no fears here. If you're driving him, the only fear would have been if he got pulled over while driving and he has 30 beers in the trunk. That could be bad. Yep. But if you're driving, and he's not going to drink the beers. He'll know. He'll be Andy Dufrein. Even if he did. Up on the roof. Andy Dufram. Thank you. Unbelievable that you didn't. That was really good. That was really good. He's going to go, hey, 16 year old, if you're listening, you should say this. Because what's going to happen is they're going to go, hey, you want one? Go like this. Quit drinking. They will fucking die laughing. Yeah. Yeah. Go full Andy Dufranne.
Starting point is 01:30:58 Say, no, quit drinking. They will, they will die laughing. that is the move no question and and hey sir i i commend you you you made a mistake and you owned up to it you owned up to it publicly publicly and but but now we can assure you that this can be fixed absolutely you can i don't know i don't know the rules in that household but maybe uh pack a sugar a full sugar soda that he gets to have with the boys after the game full sugar let let the boys drink those beers and you pull out a an ice cold Pepsi yeah and and and some suck that thing down. Suck it down like the treat that it is. It's going to be fantastic. That's all time. All the time episode. Folks, we absolutely love you. It's fall now.
