You know, even though it's like this huge network with millions of users, you know, there's still that kind of like small world connection there. What happens when you listen in to more than 140,000 different communities? Made up of 330 million users
Starting point is 00:00:29 that get 14 billion page views a month. You hear a lot of. of stories. I'm Amory Severson. And I'm Ben Brock Johnson. We're producers at WBUR, Boston's NPR station, and were bringing you a show called Endless Thread about the vast, curious ecosystem called Reddit, to find the real people behind all of Reddit's stories, and sometimes to find the real story behind those people. Going to work in a rumbled suit because you have no place to put it, like that was when I actually started to feel homeless. Because little people start to dance inside the bread, and then it gets hot.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Ah, okay. It's going to be too late. There's just no way I can cling to this rock in the middle of a freezing river for hours. If female nipples need to be censored and male nipples don't, why don't we just censor female nipples with male nipples? We know, we know. Right now, the Internet is having kind of. of a no-good, very bad time.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Election interference, bots, bullying, epic fails all around. But you know what? There are also endless permutations of human potential. Between the two of them, they figured they could hide many of these Jewish refugees and monasteries and convents throughout the countryside. And I think the impulse of trying to look out for your fellow man and trying to do something that's motivated by love and by caring rather than by fear and hatred will help us pull through and act like better people.
