Starting point is 00:00:00 On May 3rd, endless thread is back with Infectious, a special series about the strange past and surprising present of vaccines and anti-vaxxers. The fact that in 2019, we're having this debate about measles vaccine makes my head want to explode. We're just in this strange, really strange place and the only people speaking up are the parents. Throughout the internet, in Facebook, for instance. It's a Facebook group that's posted on Facebook. Especially on Facebook. My research is really about disinformation and media manipulation online. You must be busy.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Yeah, it seems like everything broke at once, which is not true. This story and this fight, it isn't just about right now. It can be traced back over centuries, and today's battles are just the latest cycle. My personal guess is that somebody died of smallpox out in the middle of the Kobe Desert. somebody came upon their body and the body was desiccated and they breathed in the dust from the body. They didn't get sick and that's where the ball got rolling.
Starting point is 00:01:07 It's a cycle of medical experimentation, innovation, and reaction. The person who stopped talking to you was that hard? Yeah, I felt very hurt by it. I'm told that I'm crazy and an anti-vaxxer and I'm uneducated and that, you know, there's a lot of gaslight. that he does on in this world. This fight is spreading everywhere.
Starting point is 00:01:32 A friend who used to be in a pediatric intensive care unit. He shared a video on a whistleblower from the CDC. Scientific consensus says that vaccines are safe and effective. This little boy who was born in the hills of northern Mexico, who immigrated to the U.S. at age 10, was now getting the attention of Jenny effing McCarthy. I truly do believe that the judge just didn't want to get involved in this situation.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I have a lot of emotions about it, but Happy is not one of them. This is a nightmare. I think vaccines were a victim of their own success. What if your son? What if your mother? What if they're the people that are being injured? And when they're injured, aren't helped.
Starting point is 00:02:13 We lost our house, paying for our own child's medical care to dig him out of the hole he was put in. It's so Nazi Germany, and I hate to use that word, but it's so the healthcare industry's goose steps to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate. Endless Thread Presents Infectious, available everywhere Friday, May 3rd.
