Fans of the Comedy Bridesmaids got a treat at the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15th.
Most of the main cast reunited on stage to present the Best Score Award,
exactly 15 years after the movie hit theaters and Smash Box Office.
Records. Stars like Kristen Wigg, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, and Ellie Kemper were there,
but Wendy McClendon Covey, who played Rita, was missing.
McClendon Covey soon cleared up the mystery in an Instagram post.
She revealed she had a necklift procedure the week before because she was tired of her appearance.
She shared a photo of herself with a bandage around her head and assured fans there was no drama, everything was fine.
Director Paul Figg addressed her absence on the red carpet before the show.
He said he heard she was unavailable, maybe traveling, and that the group missed her a lot since she works nonstop.
The reunion itself was full of laughs.
The cast Pope fun of how long it has been since filming,
joking they shot the movie back in 1883.
They also read out humorous pretend letters from other actors in the film.
Bridesmaids came out in 2011, written by Weig and Annie Mummolo,
who got an Oscar nod for Best Original Screenplay.
McCarthy earned her first nomination, too, for Best Supporting Actress,
marking the start of the movie's lasting popularity.
