Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are mourning the end of a highly anticipated reboot.
Sarah Michelle Geller announced that Hulu has scrapped the project called Buffy New Sunnydale,
more than 20 years after the original series.

Geller shared the news in a video on her Instagram over the weekend of March 14th.
She expressed sadness, but thanked director Chloe Zau for bringing her back into the world
and reigniting her passion for the character.
The original Buffy aired for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003,
spawning a spinoff called Angel that ran from 19.
99 to 2004.
It featured a talented cast including Alison Hanigan, Anthony Head, and David Boreanas.
The reboot was set to center on a new slayer with Geller
in a recurring role as an executive producer.
