The Buffy, the Vampire Slayer Revival, has been canceled by Hulu just after filming the pilot episode, titled
New Sunnydale, the project starred 16-year-old actress Ryan Kira Armstrong as the newslayer protecting the town.
Original star, Sarah Michelle Geller, announced the news herself over the weekend.
The pilot was directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, known for Nomad Land.
Geller had returned to the Buffy World for the first time in years,
praising Zau for bringing her back into those familiar boots.
Producers included Nora and Lilla Zuckerman
and the show aimed to honor the fans' love for the franchise.
Armstrong shared her heartbreak on Instagram,
posting a photo of her character and saying she was proud of the work
despite fans missing out.
She thanked Geller, Zau, the crew,
and supporters emotionally in a video story.
