The 40-year-old is peddling 1,000 kilometers in eight days on a tandem bicycle to raise money for comic relief.
While pushing through tough hills toward Edge Basin, he listened to a heartfelt voice note from his mom on Mother's Day, which brought him to tears.
Earlier last week, Greg had to cancel his breakfast show after his dad suffered a stroke during planned heart surgery.
He skipped Friday to be with family but returned to work on Monday, sharing that his father, nicknamed Big Al, is fighting hard in making small steps.
