Jacob Allorty transformed into the creature for Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein,
enduring intense makeup sessions that led to an Oscar win.
The film took home Best Makeup and Hirstiling at the 2006 Academy Awards on March 15th.
His makeup artist, Mike Hill, handled the prosthetics,
turning the 28-year-old euphoria star into the monster opposite Oscar Isaac's Victor,
The process demanded 10 hours a day, 56 times during filming, totaling 400 hours in and out of makeup.
Hill and Allorty often arrived on set six or seven hours early, sometimes starting at midnight while others showed up at six or seven in the morning.
In his acceptance speech at the Dolby Theater, Hill shared how he warned Allorty they might hate each other by 2 a.m., but that never happened.
He called Alorty the nicest and most patient man with no complaints ever.
Jordan Samuel from the team noted, Allorty stood still for four or five hours straight during applications, not relaxing in a chair.
The team aimed for a fresh take on the creature, avoiding past versions and accident victim looks.
They designed it like a precise Porsche from the 1800s, using geometric shapes to make it different and intentionally crafted.
Elorty embraced the grind, losing track of time with no meals or schedule, just waiting for the SUV to take him to set.
Del Toro praised his 20-hour days without a single whine about being tired or hungry.
