It's March 15th. Here's your entertainment news in two minutes.
The 98th Academy Awards have tapped Matt Berry as their announcer for the show on Sunday, March 15th.
Barry, the 51-year-old English comedian, famous for voicing the vampire Laslo Cravensworth,
in what we do in the shadows, will handle the off-screen voice known as the Voice of God.
Barry has a long list of credits, including roles in the IT crowd, the Mighty Bush, and his own creation, Toast of London.
He's also the voice behind those catchy prove-pain wrong ads for Advil since 2020.
Last year, Nick Offerman took on the announcer gig and even popped up on screen to poke fun and host Conan O'Brien.
O'Brien and his writing team are huge fans, handpicking Barry for the job.
During a news conference on March 11th, O'Brien called him one of the funniest people alive, a delightful genius he's thrilled to work with.
Producer Raj Kapoor shared the excitement, saying the office erupted in squeals of joy when,
they locked it in. Everyone wishes Barry could announce the whole show forever.
Audiences are in for a treat with his unique voice, and O'Brien even joked that viewers
might wonder why he doesn't just take over completely. It promises to add some extra
flare to the big night. Support for this episode comes from our sponsor. See the description.
