I'm Corey with the story, bringing you the latest in entertainment and pop culture.
The Oscars made history again, with their seventh tie ever, this time in the best live action
short category at the 2026 ceremony.
For the first time since 1995, in the same category, two films shared the award, the singers
and two people exchanging saliva.
Presenter Kumail Nanjiani kept things light, announcing the rare split and promising both
teams a chance to speak. The singers team, including David Breschel, Sam A. Davis, Mike Young,
and Jack Piet, grabbed the statue at first. Then Alexandra Singh and Natalie Mustaita stepped up for their
film. Fans and stars reacted with cheers and laughs as speeches rolled on. Davis shouted out
his family, crew, and newbie actors. Mustaita celebrated their quirky, queer story made mostly by
women and even gave props to the other winners. Nangiani joked about the extra time dragging
on. An awkward might-drop mid-speech had host Conan O'Brien cracking up later, calling it hilariously timed.
Mousthe-A-A-da noted ties had happened six times before, starting with Best Actor in 1932 between Frederick March and Wallace Beery.
This fun twist highlighted the short film World's Talent, reminding everyone why the Academy Love surprises.
