From the Daily News Now Network, this is Corey with entertainment and celebrity news today.
Timothy Shalema, the 30-year-old actor nominated for producing and starring in his film Marty Supreme,
showed up at the 98th Academy. Awards on March 15.
Host Conan O'Brien gave him a shout-out during the opening monologue,
and cameras caught Shalemey smiling from the audience next to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Earlier this week, Shalemay faced backlash online for comments this.
seemed to dismiss ballet and opera. The remarks picked up steam just before the Oscars, with some
fans worrying it might hurt his chances in the awards race. Plenty of people in the ballet and opera
worlds called him out, and it even sparked chats on talk shows. Wopi Goldberg chimed in,
urging him to watch what he says about other art forms. Shalome's co-star Kevin O'Leary jumped to
his defense on the red carpet, calling him a great guy who actually promoted opera houses
in ballet. Shalomey himself followed up by expressing respect.
for those communities and joking that he lost some viewers over it.
Later in the show, O'Brien gave Salome another fun nod before the Best Animated Feature Award,
saying they were on the same wavelength.
The moment lightened things up amid all the buzz.
