It's time for Financial Freedom Friday with Matt Terrio.
Hey, opportunities, not what they seemed to be a while ago?
Circumstances got you down.
Bruce Lee, martial artist extraordinaire, one of a kind.
He said, to hell with circumstances, I create opportunities.
Listen, this is your life.
It's your career.
It's your endeavor.
And it's up to you to create.
Or rather take hold of opportunities.
And the opportunity, it's there.
It's all around you.
Your job is to harness and mold it in a way that works for you.
You know, for those of you who started down the real estate investment path as a matter of necessity,
hey, I salute you.
And honestly, I think you have an unfair advantage over those who don't have the same, quote-unquote, motivation.
You know, for those of you who aren't operating from a place of extreme necessity.
And when I say extreme, I'm meaning you don't know where rent or your next meal is coming from
if you don't do a deal, that type of extreme.
Well, you need to find an equally heavy motivation to help you overcome the fear and discomfort
everyone inevitably feels in the early days of their real estate investing business.
Necessity.
It's the mother of invention.
And in this case, for the purpose of this conversation, it's the,
the mother of opportunity.
You know, as many of you know, when I got started,
I had no money, I had no credit,
I just got divorced,
and I was bagging groceries for a living.
My motivation, or my why, as we often refer to it,
it was colossal.
It was huge.
It kept me going.
You need a reason.
You need a why,
and it needs to be bigger
than all of the fear, the doubt, and discomfort
you will encounter.
So find it.
and when you do seize it and hang on to that bad boy because your success
depends on it so that's first get in touch with why you got started investing in
real estate in the first place second surround yourself with the right
community of action-taking individuals they'll help you get started but
better yet and more importantly they help you stay started they'll help you
continuing to progress as
you experience these inescapable challenges that are coming your way they're
coming
having the right mentors the great coaches and groups around you will make or
break you in any entrepreneurial endeavor that's no secret
you know and surrounded with the right people you're gonna find yourself in
different conversations
and access to different resources that
you might otherwise never have had access to
or access to people and resources that might have taken you decades to create
on your own
But what I think is most important about having the right environment or the right community around you
is that you'll be surrounded by evidence that what you're up to works.
You can never underestimate that.
That evidence will bolster your belief in what you're doing like nothing else.
And if you've got belief and you're in touch with and attached to your reason for investing in real estate,
nothing can stop you.
Nothing.
Well, maybe one thing.
And that brings me to the third thing.
Stop getting ready to get ready.
Just fire.
Just go after it.
Get into the habit of firing.
Like ready, fire, and aim afterward.
And by the way, the getting ready part of that formula,
that should be the shortest action of the three.
Just fire.
And fire a lot.
And aim after the bullets have left the barrel.
You're never going to know it all.
So quit waiting for the right information or that bulletproof contract or the correct technique or the perfect strategy for your market.
You learn as you go.
And because you've surrounded yourself with a quality community and mentors, you're going to be fine.
Ready, fire, aim.
And fire a lot.
Fire often.
Fire a lot.
You'll get better with each shot.
I'm Matt Terrio of Epic Real Estate.
And I'll see you next week on another episode of Financial.
Freedom Friday.
